Free Gift Card Scam Alert | Lafayette Louisiana News
Scammers are flooding mailboxes with fake postcards promising free gift cards for gas and food—just ask for your credit card details, pay a “processing fee,” and watch them rack up charges over $40. These scams look legit, use urgency tactics, and often steal your personal info or sign you up for hidden subscriptions. The BBB warns: if a prize asks for payment upfront, it’s a scam. Legit offers never require you to pay first. Protect yourself—don’t share payment or personal info, and pause before you act.
