A pastor in Kenya has been convicted on over
• 0:09
190 murder charges after it was discovered that
• 0:12
he forced followers to starve both their children
• 0:14
and themselves in an effort to enter their version
• 0:16
of heaven. Pastor Paul McKenzie was convicted
• 0:19
alongside 28 others that were involved in a sect
• 0:22
entitled Good News International Church in southeast
• 0:24

• 0:33
were of children. This does not include separate

• 0:45
to a large ranch in the Chacahola Forest, which

CalMatters reports that Proposition 1 is on the
• 0:56
ballot this November, which aims to solve the

• 1:00
housing. The bill would allow the state to sell
• 1:03
$11 .25 billion in general obligation bonds to
• 1:07
fund various types of housing. Of the over $11
• 1:11
billion planned, over $7 million would be intended
• 1:14
to build or renovate apartment buildings through
• 1:17
low -interest loans to developers. According
• 1:19
to a legislative analyst, it would cost the state
• 1:22
between $500 and $600 million per year for roughly
• 1:25
25 years to repay the cost of the general housing
• 1:27
bond. The Willamette Weekly reports that a Portland
• 1:32
-area school, which had just been completed renovation
• 1:34
work costing over $7 million, is now being slated

• 1:40
southeast Portland was awarded the renovation
• 1:42
funding in 2024 under the condition that it operated
• 1:45
as a school for at least the next decade. The
• 1:48
reason for the possible closure is due to independently
