- 0:03Speaker 1: They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He
- 0:07Speaker 1: that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless
- 0:13Speaker 1: come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him. Psalm 126,
- 0:20Speaker 1: 5-6 Heavenly Father, you have considered my heartache and have
- 0:28Speaker 1: acquainted yourself with all my grief. You have kept every
- 0:33Speaker 1: tear I have ever shed. You know my frailty and
- 0:38Speaker 1: don't hold it against me. May the tears I cry
- 0:42Speaker 1: be the water that supplies growth in my life. Cultivate
- 0:47Speaker 1: my heart like a garden and tend to my soul
- 0:52Speaker 1: like a budding tree. I want to grow from my grief, Lord.
- 0:57Speaker 1: I do not want to wallow in self-pity. I want
- 1:02Speaker 1: to be transformed and made stronger. Help me, Lord. I
- 1:08Speaker 1: know you can. In Jesus' name, amen. My friends, welcome
- 1:17Speaker 1: to your meditative prayer on overcoming depression. To get the
- 1:19Speaker 1: most out of your spiritual journey, use Pray.com every day
- 1:21Speaker 1: and make prayer a priority in your life. Our goal
- 1:23Speaker 1: for today's meditative prayer is to help you.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Is all about overcoming depression. So let's begin by just
- 1:49Speaker 2: taking a second to slow down. Maybe sit in your
- 1:53Speaker 2: favorite spot. Maybe it's on your bed or wherever you
- 1:56Speaker 2: feel the most at ease. Wrap yourself in a warm
- 2:00Speaker 2: blanket or go and grab a plush pillow. Once you
- 2:05Speaker 2: feel yourself start to relax, turn your thoughts toward the
- 2:09Speaker 2: teaching that God has for you today. Again, this morning
- 2:14Speaker 2: we'll be meditating on Psalm 126 verses 5 to 6
- 2:18Speaker 2: from the New International Version. It reads, My friends, take
- 2:23Speaker 2: a moment just to pour out your adoration to God. God,
- 2:26Speaker 2: I worship you. Because of your faithfulness. I praise you.
- 2:48Speaker 2: For you have called me to be the head. And
- 2:51Speaker 2: not the tail. You promise that your blessings. Shall come
- 2:55Speaker 2: upon me and overtake me. I praise you. For as
- 3:00Speaker 2: I hope in you. You renew my strength. You alone.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Are worthy of all my praise. Sometimes you have to
- 3:10Speaker 2: work through your depression. This can be. excruciatingly hard. There's
- 3:17Speaker 2: a difference between being planted and being buried, and you
- 3:23Speaker 2: decide if you become a grave or a garden. In
- 3:28Speaker 2: the season of opposition, when you find yourself forgotten and alone,
- 3:34Speaker 2: my friends, you have a choice to make. You can
- 3:37Speaker 2: allow your tears to water your work, or you can
- 3:40Speaker 2: roll over and die. The Bible teaches that hope deferred
- 3:45Speaker 2: makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a
- 3:49Speaker 2: tree of life. Sowing through your tears will feel heartbreaking,
- 3:55Speaker 2: but you must persevere. For if you do not sow,
- 3:59Speaker 2: you will never reap the manifestation of your longing. Perhaps
- 4:04Speaker 2: you find yourself surrounded by dirt and darkness. You must remember,
- 4:10Speaker 2: you are a precious seed. The process might hurt, but
- 4:15Speaker 2: the results will be worthwhile. God is waiting for you.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Confess your troubles to your Father above so He may
- 4:25Speaker 2: aid you in your time of need. My friends, think
- 4:30Speaker 2: for a minute on all the times God gave growth
- 4:34Speaker 2: to your life. Those times when you felt stalled out
- 4:38Speaker 2: and stagnant, but God saved you. times where God's process
- 4:43Speaker 2: hurt but brought amazing results in your life. Thank him
- 4:48Speaker 2: for all the past wisdom and righteousness resulted from being planted.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Thank him for the areas of growth, understanding, and maturity.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Now think of the seeds buried in your garden and
- 5:02Speaker 2: thank God for the blossoms to come. God is present
- 5:08Speaker 2: and he is listening to you. Never forget, the sowing
- 5:12Speaker 2: may be painful, but the result will be a tree
- 5:15Speaker 2: of life. God wants you to grow as a person
- 5:19Speaker 2: and to experience fulfillment. So reach out to God for
- 5:23Speaker 2: His grace and His mercy to be upon you. Ask
- 5:28Speaker 2: Him to bless you with a mind for endurance and
- 5:31Speaker 2: a desire for perseverance. Ask the Holy Spirit to help
- 5:35Speaker 2: you be patient in the process, to not give up,
- 5:39Speaker 2: and to not only survive, but to thrive. Remember, what
- 5:44Speaker 2: is sown in tears, you will reap in joy. If
- 5:48Speaker 2: you do the work, even if it's done in sadness,
- 5:52Speaker 2: you will reap the joy of the harvest. So be encouraged.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Just because you don't see the light at the end
- 5:58Speaker 2: of the tunnel doesn't mean it isn't there. You have
- 6:02Speaker 2: God's Holy Spirit to help you and to guide you
- 6:05Speaker 2: every step of the way. He will never leave you
- 6:09Speaker 2: and He will never abandon you. Through faith in Christ,
- 6:13Speaker 2: you can and you will blossom into a beautiful garden.
