- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to a DM podcast.
- 0:03Speaker 2: We'll try to keep it as nice as we can,
- 0:05Speaker 2: but you might hear the occasional swear word in No Dribble.
- 0:07Speaker 3: Don't tell them.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Hello, and welcome to episode three of No Dribble, the
- 0:24Speaker 2: podcast where we talk a bit about netfall, but we
- 0:26Speaker 2: talk a lot about some other crazy stuff. Episode two
- 0:29Speaker 2: we managed to talk about vibrators, and I think that
- 0:31Speaker 2: might be some sort of record for going there. So
- 0:34Speaker 2: I'm joined each week as usual by two people who
- 0:38Speaker 2: I adore and I know you do too, and I
- 0:41Speaker 2: won't immediately say who it is, but between the three
- 0:43Speaker 2: of us, one of us has a river Class ferry
- 0:46Speaker 2: on Sydney Harbor named after her, one of us has
- 0:49Speaker 2: played for three Sun Corps Supernet four teams, and one
- 0:52Speaker 2: of us has grown her own sweet potato this week.
- 0:54Speaker 2: So I'll leave you to work out who has done what.
- 0:57Speaker 2: But I'm Caroline Swidel. I'm a writer and comedian, and
- 1:00Speaker 2: I am joined each week by my wonderful friends kath
- 1:02Speaker 2: Cox and Lizzellis. Yeah, so welcome to my drip or Oh,
- 1:06Speaker 2: we nailed it. We nailed it. We all managed to
- 1:09Speaker 2: say our own names. Congratulations.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Given this is the only one that's going to air.
- 1:14Speaker 1: People think we did know it time.
- 1:18Speaker 2: How many takes with that. It's been a big week
- 1:21Speaker 2: in netball and we do have some stuff that we
- 1:23Speaker 2: need to talk about. But right off the bat, someone's
- 1:25Speaker 2: got a new job.
- 1:28Speaker 4: I'm now the chair of Netball Australia, which is a
- 1:31Speaker 4: very grown up position, and I don't know that people
- 1:35Speaker 4: understand that I'm not qualified. No, I shouldn't say.
- 1:37Speaker 2: That I shouldn't qualified for this job, and that is
- 1:41Speaker 2: certainly the reflection that I am seeing on social media.
- 1:43Speaker 2: I'm in a thousand netball chats on Facebook. Everyone is
- 1:47Speaker 2: really happy that we have someone here who understands the
- 1:49Speaker 2: game and understands governance.
- 1:51Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:51Speaker 1: I was a little concerned about the press release though,
- 1:53Speaker 1: because it was referring to you as Mizzellous all the
- 1:56Speaker 1: way through, and I thought, if I have to start curtsying,
- 1:59Speaker 1: if I have to bow in our presence or call
- 2:01Speaker 1: a mizella some out.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Well we have had to set it up because when
- 2:04Speaker 2: Liz walks into the podcast, it's like all.
- 2:06Speaker 4: Rise, yeah, I say, my little person, who's it? Like
- 2:11Speaker 4: the judges associate who comes in and says and then
- 2:13Speaker 4: the one that says, all right, I've tried to send
- 2:15Speaker 4: Matthew in but he's not interested, so I have to
- 2:18Speaker 4: tell everyone to rise myself.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Liz, can I ask you a question straight off the
- 2:21Speaker 1: bat about this, because a lot of people probably don't
- 2:25Speaker 1: know the difference between having a board position and being
- 2:28Speaker 1: the chair, because we knew you're on the board already.
- 2:31Speaker 5: What does this elevation in position mean?
- 2:33Speaker 4: It really just means sort of leading the board through
- 2:36Speaker 4: the process of setting the strategy and the vision for
- 2:40Speaker 4: Netball Australia, for being a sounding board for Stacey West.
- 2:44Speaker 4: Wu'sa CEO. So there's nine of us on the board.
- 2:47Speaker 4: I'm simply the first amongst equals. And it also means
- 2:50Speaker 4: representing Netball Australia at different sort of levels into government,
- 2:56Speaker 4: just making sure the relationships are right.
- 2:58Speaker 3: You know.
- 2:59Speaker 4: It's not like suddenly when need the chair, you actually
- 3:02Speaker 4: run the show. And I've sort of been at pains
- 3:05Speaker 4: to point that out. You know, me being the chair
- 3:07Speaker 4: doesn't suddenly make everything in netball perfect. It just means
- 3:11Speaker 4: that you've got someone who you know has a different
- 3:16Speaker 4: understanding of the sport to perhaps the previous couple of chairs.
- 3:19Speaker 4: You know, I come from a high performance background, so
- 3:21Speaker 4: there's a different lens on that. It's a big job.
- 3:25Speaker 1: I'm learning more work for you because I know you're
- 3:28Speaker 1: worried about even agreeing to be on the board in
- 3:30Speaker 1: the first place, given the workload. But in this role more.
- 3:33Speaker 4: Yeah, definitely. And I think my husband is coming to
- 3:36Speaker 4: terms with the fact that he is essentially a single
- 3:38Speaker 4: father with two children for the next little bit. So,
- 3:41Speaker 4: you know, more work, and I've got the capacity to
- 3:44Speaker 4: do that work. It's just a travel that is probably
- 3:47Speaker 4: the next step up. So it's just about managing that
- 3:49Speaker 4: and making sure that I, you know, do a bit
- 3:51Speaker 4: of meal prep on the weekends and you know, cook
- 3:53Speaker 4: lots of mints.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Oh god, she's turned in to a meal prepper. Oh
- 3:58Speaker 1: our relationship is hanging by threat.
- 4:01Speaker 2: I'm all about what's in it for me, and I
- 4:04Speaker 2: think a lot of dribblers when I ask you, so,
- 4:06Speaker 2: what difference does that make for us here each week,
- 4:09Speaker 2: for you guys, well, for the three of us, and
- 4:11Speaker 2: what the dribblers can expect from our conversation here.
- 4:15Speaker 4: Well, I guess I just have to be a bit careful,
- 4:17Speaker 4: you know, I just I don't want to be spilling
- 4:19Speaker 4: all the secrets, and you know, like I like the
- 4:22Speaker 4: idea that I can be part of this dribbler community
- 4:25Speaker 4: and hopefully this is just another way for me to
- 4:29Speaker 4: communicate with the netball community. And I also think that
- 4:32Speaker 4: you too will probably keep me in line or not.
- 4:35Speaker 5: I like you off the line.
- 4:37Speaker 2: So there's no restrictions in your virtually unpaid contract. I'm
- 4:41Speaker 2: telling us about inappropriate Mother's Day gifts for.
- 4:43Speaker 4: Instance, Oh no, that's fine.
- 4:45Speaker 2: You know, shooting the shit about the old days in netball.
- 4:47Speaker 4: Yeah, no, that's fine, or winging about the fact that
- 4:50Speaker 4: I'm an unpaid farmhand. I just I'm concerned about the
- 4:52Speaker 4: amount of unpaid jobs I've got at the moment.
- 4:54Speaker 5: Actually, that should have been your biggest indication.
- 4:58Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, Ernie who They're all very satisfying.
- 5:02Speaker 2: I do have a couple of things I've been wanting
- 5:04Speaker 2: to raise with someone at a senior level in Netball Australia.
- 5:07Speaker 2: And I'm glad you're here because I saw a Mexican
- 5:09Speaker 2: wave at a game recently and it was a fucking circus,
- 5:13Speaker 2: I've got to say. So it was like in the
- 5:14Speaker 2: Pride round and they said we're going to start in
- 5:16Speaker 2: the red seats, and we're going to move around in
- 5:18Speaker 2: a clockwise fashion. It was all laid out, it should
- 5:20Speaker 2: have been done. But our sport cannot do Mexican waves
- 5:23Speaker 2: in the way that they can at other stadiums. And
- 5:25Speaker 2: I think this is a crisis, and I would like
- 5:28Speaker 2: to know what the board is planning to do about that.
- 5:30Speaker 2: I've got plenty of other awesome suggestions for you too.
- 5:33Speaker 4: I'm sorry, my headphones aren't working.
- 5:35Speaker 3: I can't.
- 5:37Speaker 2: I'll put it in a suggestion, but she needs an
- 5:40Speaker 2: old school suggestion box.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Well on, our socials will open it up and maybe
- 5:44Speaker 1: we can get some crazy suggestions to the new chair
- 5:46Speaker 1: of the board.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, I'd also like to get rid of the
- 5:49Speaker 2: let's go team Let's go. I think that that's something
- 5:52Speaker 2: that Netball could really move on from too.
- 5:56Speaker 4: Yeah, good chats.
- 6:00Speaker 2: I feel so validated in her thank you anyway, she's
- 6:03Speaker 2: a chair of Netble Australia, but she's still just Liz
- 6:06Speaker 2: to us.
- 6:06Speaker 4: Yes, now, Carolyn, I just want to pull you up.
- 6:08Speaker 4: I would like for you to adopt a growth mindset.
- 6:10Speaker 2: To this again with the height No your mind, your mind.
- 6:14Speaker 4: Right, So when you say our sport can't do Mexican waves,
- 6:17Speaker 4: I want you to say, our sport can't do Mexican
- 6:19Speaker 4: waves yet, right, It's something that we can work towards.
- 6:22Speaker 4: So I just need everybody to adopt the growth mindset
- 6:24Speaker 4: around this and whilst we might not be able to
- 6:26Speaker 4: do things yet, we will be able to do them
- 6:27Speaker 4: in the future.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Oh my god, she's changed to still call it a
- 6:31Speaker 2: Mexican wave.
- 6:32Speaker 4: Oh that's an excellent question.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Is it something that that is an out of date
- 6:36Speaker 2: concept and that perhaps we as the sport of netball,
- 6:39Speaker 2: can lead the rest of the sports out of using
- 6:43Speaker 2: old fashioned language.
- 6:44Speaker 5: You go, there's something else we can discuss as we go.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Hang on, Mandy, our producers. She's a whiz on the Googles,
- 6:50Speaker 2: and she's got some information for us.
- 6:52Speaker 5: All right.
- 6:53Speaker 6: I can tell you that they were first seen during
- 6:56Speaker 6: the nineteen eighty six World Cup soccer World Cup, which
- 6:59Speaker 6: was sold in Mexico, hence the name given to the wave. However,
- 7:03Speaker 6: they were also seen at American football games for a
- 7:08Speaker 6: few years before that, notably at the University of Washington
- 7:11Speaker 6: homecoming game in nineteen eighty one. So the early eighties,
- 7:15Speaker 6: but not necessarily Mexican.
- 7:17Speaker 3: Okay, right, right?
- 7:18Speaker 5: Should we go?
- 7:19Speaker 2: So it doesn't sound like it's anything offensive. We can
- 7:21Speaker 2: still continue to call it the Mexican way. But it's
- 7:24Speaker 2: been a crazy week in that. Well, there's a few
- 7:26Speaker 2: things we need to talk about. How Catherine Cox had
- 7:28Speaker 2: a television screen thrown at her by one of the players,
- 7:31Speaker 2: came off court yesterday may have been accidental. I'm not
- 7:34Speaker 2: sure we had someone getting sent off. We will talk
- 7:37Speaker 2: about all of that stuff, but for now, what's happened
- 7:40Speaker 2: this week?
- 7:41Speaker 4: Well, I don't have.
- 7:41Speaker 5: Much to report. Actually it's been a really quiet week.
- 7:44Speaker 5: But what about you. You're the busy one, the crossfitter,
- 7:47Speaker 5: the traveler.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Actually, this is something that was quite interesting to happen.
- 7:50Speaker 2: So you know, I'm advanced middle age. Now, I'll only
- 7:54Speaker 2: be actually middle age at the moment if I get
- 7:56Speaker 2: to live to one hundred and ten. So I'm really
- 7:57Speaker 2: trump coming to terms with some stuff. But all these
- 8:00Speaker 2: longevity things, you know, you're supposed to be doing intermittent fasting,
- 8:03Speaker 2: eating less food, getting your sleep right, and the cold
- 8:06Speaker 2: showers or shocking the system somehow. So I have been
- 8:10Speaker 2: at the end of my showers. I have a timer
- 8:12Speaker 2: on my watch, I turn it to cold, and it's
- 8:14Speaker 2: cold at the moment. It's late in May, isn't it.
- 8:16Speaker 2: It's getting cold. So but I was doing this the
- 8:19Speaker 2: other day, standing under the cold shower at the end
- 8:21Speaker 2: of my shower, just hoping that my watch would buzz,
- 8:24Speaker 2: and I'm under the cold water and I'm breathing through it,
- 8:27Speaker 2: and my daughter came in because she thought I was
- 8:29Speaker 2: having a stroke.
- 8:30Speaker 1: So, now, can you do it first and then finish
- 8:34Speaker 1: with a nice warm shower?
- 8:35Speaker 2: I think you could.
- 8:36Speaker 4: I have.
- 8:38Speaker 2: I have the instant gas heating thing, though, so it
- 8:41Speaker 2: takes a really long time for my water to heat up.
- 8:43Speaker 2: So I do it this way and then I get out.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Now do you get quite a nice little sort of
- 8:46Speaker 2: euphoric headspin at the end of it.
- 8:48Speaker 1: So we did have to do the ice bards a lot,
- 8:51Speaker 1: and I actually started doing them before games as well
- 8:54Speaker 1: as just after trainings and stuff like that.
- 8:56Speaker 5: And it does make a difference. You certainly feel fresher.
- 8:58Speaker 2: What does it make a difference too?
- 9:00Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 9:00Speaker 1: It might be mental, but I felt like my legs
- 9:03Speaker 1: were just felt fresh, like they were ready to go
- 9:05Speaker 1: and ready to run and frozen for a little while. Sure,
- 9:07Speaker 1: but that was just, you know, one of those crazy
- 9:09Speaker 1: things towards the end of your career because you're getting old,
- 9:12Speaker 1: you're try and tickle all the boxes. Have a gatorade
- 9:14Speaker 1: at a certain hour, have a coffee at a certain hour,
- 9:17Speaker 1: make sure I have my eyes.
- 9:18Speaker 2: And it's the most half fast athlete schedule that I
- 9:21Speaker 2: have a gatorade and then I had for coffee.
- 9:24Speaker 1: I mean, there's aside from all the on court stuff
- 9:27Speaker 1: that you know as a given, it's all the crazy
- 9:30Speaker 1: little things that people have to do at certain times
- 9:32Speaker 1: of the day and if they don't do it, they're
- 9:33Speaker 1: cranky and they think they're going to have a bad game.
- 9:35Speaker 1: And then you retire and you realize what real life
- 9:37Speaker 1: is all about. And I'm embarrassed when I think about
- 9:39Speaker 1: how I used to carry on about some stuff thinking back.
- 9:42Speaker 4: Yeah, and you know, like the ice Barns when they
- 9:44Speaker 4: first came in, it was it was such a shock.
- 9:47Speaker 4: It was like, is this going to happen for the
- 9:49Speaker 4: rest of my career?
- 9:51Speaker 2: So when did it come in in your career? Like
- 9:53Speaker 2: it was not at the beginning, the.
- 9:55Speaker 4: Nah I reckon it's sort of popped in sort of
- 9:57Speaker 4: when I was in my mid twenties and when we've
- 10:00Speaker 4: first started doing it, one of the players had just
- 10:03Speaker 4: come back into the team after having a child, and
- 10:07Speaker 4: she said to me one day, she goes, Liz, this
- 10:09Speaker 4: is really hard because I've got to tell you, after
- 10:11Speaker 4: you have a kid, things don't snapshot anymore, and the
- 10:15Speaker 4: cold water gets to places that it probably shouldn't. Oh
- 10:20Speaker 4: my goodness. Oh that hurts. But do you know what
- 10:23Speaker 4: I actually read this week that the posh spice Victoria Beckham,
- 10:27Speaker 4: she gets up and has an ice bath every morning
- 10:29Speaker 4: at five am. And I can't understand why you do
- 10:31Speaker 4: that if you don't have to, Like she doesn't have
- 10:33Speaker 4: a coach saying get up and do it from a
- 10:35Speaker 4: high performance point of view. And it also bothers me
- 10:37Speaker 4: that she gets up and has an ice bath and
- 10:39Speaker 4: then she does some training and I'm like, that just
- 10:41Speaker 4: wastes so much time. You got to get wet, and
- 10:43Speaker 4: then you get dry, and you do your training, and
- 10:45Speaker 4: then you have a shower and then you got to
- 10:46Speaker 4: get dry again. Like drawing yourself twice at a morning
- 10:48Speaker 4: is just out of the question.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Yeah, but then you can also have a little snuggle
- 10:51Speaker 1: with David Beckham to warm up. So I mean there's
- 10:53Speaker 1: plus some very big class side there.
- 10:56Speaker 2: And maybe Victoria should just tell you what she wants,
- 10:58Speaker 2: what she really really wants, Liz, and then you'd understand.
- 11:01Speaker 4: Well this now, I've got enough people telling me what
- 11:04Speaker 4: they want at the moment, I don't need her.
- 11:06Speaker 2: When my you know, talking about your mate who had
- 11:08Speaker 2: the ice bath when my daughter was six months old.
- 11:10Speaker 2: I've just remembered. We went to Finland. And in Finland
- 11:14Speaker 2: you go and you have the sauna, the traditional sauna.
- 11:16Speaker 2: This was Christmas Day. You was celebrated Christmas on Christmas Eve,
- 11:18Speaker 2: and my husband and I went down. We had a sauna,
- 11:20Speaker 2: and then you go out and you roll around in
- 11:21Speaker 2: the snow. Right fabulous, And so my body is still
- 11:24Speaker 2: in some level of disarray from having had a baby.
- 11:26Speaker 2: We went out and rolled around in the snow and
- 11:28Speaker 2: then opened the door to go back in, except the
- 11:29Speaker 2: door and locked behind us. So we're standing out there
- 11:33Speaker 2: and we're in Lapland in far north Finland. We're banging
- 11:35Speaker 2: on the door. Friends and rest of the family are upstairs.
- 11:38Speaker 2: They can't hear us because these are really thick walls.
- 11:41Speaker 2: So we had to go running through the snow. He's
- 11:43Speaker 2: six foot three, so for him it was knee height,
- 11:45Speaker 2: but for me, it was nearly waste height, and so
- 11:47Speaker 2: you know, I really ran the risk of some level
- 11:49Speaker 2: of unfortunate frostbite. While we were doing this, we had
- 11:52Speaker 2: to run around the front of the house stark naked.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Have our friends let us in. We're running through. My
- 11:57Speaker 2: fifteen year old stepdaughter opened the door in what I
- 11:59Speaker 2: think imagine was quite a scarring memory for her. We're
- 12:03Speaker 2: about to run downstairs, and my five year old son's like, mom, Mom,
- 12:06Speaker 2: Mom's like what what what we have? What we're called?
- 12:08Speaker 2: It's like, can I have a biscuit? It's like christ,
- 12:10Speaker 2: you can have whatever you want. Mate.
- 12:13Speaker 1: I'm over anything that's out of my comfort zone or
- 12:15Speaker 1: anyone yelling at me at the gym, or really forcing
- 12:19Speaker 1: me to do ice bards.
- 12:20Speaker 5: Done with all of that stuff. Not into it. I know,
- 12:23Speaker 5: do you like to be I mean, you're a CrossFit.
- 12:25Speaker 5: Do you like to be yelled at? Don't you? No one,
- 12:27Speaker 5: I don't understand.
- 12:28Speaker 2: No one yells at me. They just look disappointed if
- 12:30Speaker 2: I'm hard enough, which is a much more motivating thing
- 12:33Speaker 2: for me. So yeah, So I put both of you
- 12:36Speaker 2: down as a no for the frostbitten flaps.
- 12:38Speaker 5: Then okay, and the CrossFit just to Clari CrossFit.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Well, further to your unpaid roles, I'd like to add
- 12:48Speaker 2: one more, please, if you could be my agricultural adjutor. So,
- 12:51Speaker 2: in my suburban block in Sydney, I've started to try
- 12:54Speaker 2: to grow my own food. It's not been terribly successful yet.
- 12:57Speaker 2: We've got a couple of garnishes and maybe one of
- 13:00Speaker 2: beans out of it, but very exciting. And I did
- 13:02Speaker 2: allude to this earlier on. I have grown a sweet potato.
- 13:05Speaker 2: Now I'm going I brought it because it's the most
- 13:07Speaker 2: beautiful thing you've ever seen. It looks like a giant Yeah, well,
- 13:12Speaker 2: it looks a little bit like hemorrhoids. It looks a
- 13:14Speaker 2: little bit like an anatomical representation of a heart. But
- 13:19Speaker 2: how the hell do you grow straight vegetables? My vegetables
- 13:24Speaker 2: obviously can determine their own path in life. But if
- 13:27Speaker 2: I wanted.
- 13:27Speaker 4: It, there are so many places.
- 13:37Speaker 3: Can you get it.
- 13:38Speaker 5: Out of my face? It's froaken me out?
- 13:39Speaker 4: Look at that bit, right, bern It does belong in
- 13:42Speaker 4: the imperfect part of the supermarket.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Oh my word.
- 13:46Speaker 4: Yeah, but you know what, it's probably still very tasty
- 13:48Speaker 4: on the inside.
- 13:49Speaker 2: So that's right.
- 13:50Speaker 4: I'm going to take up the role of your agricultural advisor.
- 13:52Speaker 4: And it's another role that I'm not qualified for, but
- 13:54Speaker 4: we'll give it a run anyway. It goes with my
- 13:56Speaker 4: role as farm hand, for which I have zero qualifications
- 13:59Speaker 4: other than marriage certificate. That looks good, Look I do.
- 14:02Speaker 4: It looks fantastic. So I can't believe I'm about to
- 14:05Speaker 4: say this in all seriousness. Sweet potatoes, I'm not dissing
- 14:08Speaker 4: you are actually reasonably easy to grow once you get
- 14:10Speaker 4: them started. But I would say that you have too
- 14:15Speaker 4: much clay in your soul or there's too many rocks.
- 14:18Speaker 4: So sweet potatoes and carrots, they look for the easiest,
- 14:21Speaker 4: the path of least resistance, right, so when when I grows, No,
- 14:28Speaker 4: they don't wear lipgloss, Catherine. So, so like when I
- 14:32Speaker 4: grow carrots up here at my place, I have to
- 14:34Speaker 4: put lots of sand in the soil to make it
- 14:35Speaker 4: more friable, which is I can't believe I'm even talking
- 14:38Speaker 4: about this. But you want you want to make the
- 14:40Speaker 4: soil really soft so that the carrot finds its own way. Yeah, Coxi,
- 14:43Speaker 4: your eyes are glazing over, But that's okay because this
- 14:46Speaker 4: is not for you.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Well, it's part of our strategy to take over from
- 14:48Speaker 2: Gardening Australia.
- 14:49Speaker 4: Well, this is true bags being Costa. Actually you have
- 14:53Speaker 4: to beat Costa, Carolyn. But anyway, we'll get to that later. So,
- 14:56Speaker 4: but with the sweet potato, you might just want to
- 14:58Speaker 4: put a little bit more sand or something in your sauls.
- 15:00Speaker 4: It's a bit lighter and more friable, so it can
- 15:01Speaker 4: expand in a very uniform way rather than it's like
- 15:04Speaker 4: if it sees a rock or something, it will grow
- 15:06Speaker 4: around it rather than try and grow more perfect.
- 15:09Speaker 1: Oh no, set up an obstacle course for.
- 15:11Speaker 4: It instead, she obviously has.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Now I've got another strategy. It's called Harris Farm.
- 15:15Speaker 4: Yes, there you go. But also I will say, once
- 15:18Speaker 4: you grow sweet potato, it takes two years to get
- 15:20Speaker 4: it out of your garden beer because it's a vine, right,
- 15:22Speaker 4: they're not like so potatoes sort of grow in a
- 15:25Speaker 4: little spot where sweet potato spreads out all over and
- 15:28Speaker 4: underneath your soil as well. So good luck with that.
- 15:31Speaker 2: Oh well I grew it in a grow bag.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Oh you're fine, then, yeah, I want more orange turns
- 15:37Speaker 1: to come into.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Well, look forward to a ride of fresh produce.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Lots to chat about from the netball on the weekend.
- 15:48Speaker 1: There is some outstanding games, the Swifts derby against the Giants,
- 15:52Speaker 1: though how good was that massive crowd?
- 15:54Speaker 5: I was obviously at that one commentating.
- 15:56Speaker 1: And the scariest thing at one point was Chelsea Pittman
- 16:00Speaker 1: coming flying towards the Colm's bench. And it's interesting because
- 16:05Speaker 1: it goes from a heroic moment into an embarrassing moment
- 16:09Speaker 1: very quickly.
- 16:09Speaker 5: And I'll tell you why, because you.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Know, when you're running for the ball and you dedicated
- 16:13Speaker 1: you want to get If committed to it, you put
- 16:15Speaker 1: your body on the line. It doesn't matter if you
- 16:16Speaker 1: take out the signage or you know, a player or
- 16:19Speaker 1: a coach or whatever. So she comes straight over it.
- 16:22Speaker 1: She holds herself from I think she knocked over one monitor,
- 16:25Speaker 1: stood on my foot, which was half frozen because the
- 16:27Speaker 1: stadium was cold, and that hurt, and I think I
- 16:30Speaker 1: said that on her, I know, get the little violin out.
- 16:34Speaker 1: But then she gathered herself and went to get back
- 16:37Speaker 1: up and run onto the court, but her foot was
- 16:38Speaker 1: tangled in the power cords, so she then ate it
- 16:42Speaker 1: again and took one of the monitors with her that
- 16:45Speaker 1: smashed on the ground.
- 16:47Speaker 5: So I thought, oh, my god, the poor thing.
- 16:48Speaker 1: This looked like one of those really great moments and
- 16:51Speaker 1: then it turned into an embarrassing one, which made me
- 16:54Speaker 1: start to think about the embarrassing moments that I've had
- 16:57Speaker 1: on court, and Liz, I'm sure.
- 16:58Speaker 5: You've had some as well.
- 16:59Speaker 1: But also Calm Games, the last COMLM Games, which was
- 17:03Speaker 1: in Birmingham in twenty twenty two. Hammingham was commentating those
- 17:07Speaker 1: and Leila Gusketh, who was playing for England at the time.
- 17:10Speaker 1: Straight away you remember this, don't yet, because it was outrageous.
- 17:13Speaker 1: She went for a ball in the circle and missed it,
- 17:17Speaker 1: but she collected the gold post. But she collected it
- 17:20Speaker 1: in between her leaks. She was literally straddling it and
- 17:24Speaker 1: she was about halfway up the post. It was insane,
- 17:27Speaker 1: so obviously they called time to check on the gold post.
- 17:32Speaker 5: They didn't worry about her, but the goldpost was bent.
- 17:35Speaker 4: She's a doctor, she could sort of check herself.
- 17:37Speaker 5: She was fine.
- 17:38Speaker 1: She was limping for a little while, and Sue Gordian
- 17:41Speaker 1: was commentating at the time, and I think she said
- 17:42Speaker 1: something along the lines of she's going to have to
- 17:44Speaker 1: get that surgically removed from herself.
- 17:46Speaker 5: At the end of the game, but it was hysterical.
- 17:50Speaker 1: But Elizabeth, what comes to mind when you think of
- 17:54Speaker 1: embarrassing moments.
- 17:55Speaker 4: I remember breaking your nose at a postmats celebration once
- 17:58Speaker 4: trying to tackle Julie Fits.
- 18:00Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 18:01Speaker 4: So yeah. Off the court we'd lost a Grand Final
- 18:04Speaker 4: and I just swung around and collected you and there
- 18:06Speaker 4: was blood everywhere. The other dumb one that I can
- 18:09Speaker 4: think of was I'd just been named captain of the
- 18:11Speaker 4: Australian team and we're playing in New Zealand and we
- 18:13Speaker 4: were losing, and I just was like, I'm going to
- 18:15Speaker 4: be the worst captain ever. And I just was trying
- 18:17Speaker 4: to do too much. And I was playing gold defense,
- 18:20Speaker 4: which is where the first problem was, obviously, because I'm
- 18:22Speaker 4: not cut out for gold defense, and I ran into
- 18:24Speaker 4: jest shin and I sort of should have pulled out.
- 18:27Speaker 4: I ran into hair and then I'd sort of flipped
- 18:29Speaker 4: and landed on my head and I got carted off
- 18:32Speaker 4: the court and I had to go into hospital and
- 18:34Speaker 4: I had like this neck brace on. And the worst
- 18:36Speaker 4: thing was that I hadn't washed my hair for about
- 18:38Speaker 4: four days beforehand, and I planned to wash my hair
- 18:40Speaker 4: after the game that night, and because I was in
- 18:42Speaker 4: a neck brace, like you know those things that people
- 18:44Speaker 4: get when they're like we blashed in a car accident,
- 18:46Speaker 4: or sometimes you see it like really dodgy. People have
- 18:49Speaker 4: them mond in television chaps to indicate that they're dodgy.
- 18:52Speaker 4: That was me and I just I just hated the
- 18:55Speaker 4: fact that I couldn't want this neck brace one and
- 18:57Speaker 4: I couldn't wash my hair. It was disgusting. So that
- 19:00Speaker 4: was probably the dumbest thing I've done. What are you
- 19:02Speaker 4: thinking of? Coxy?
- 19:03Speaker 1: Obviously runn into the goalpost a thousand times run offside
- 19:06Speaker 1: in a Test match against New Zealand when I was
- 19:10Speaker 1: playing goal shooter. I just ran straight into the center
- 19:12Speaker 1: third and it was the New Zealand players. It all
- 19:15Speaker 1: started laughing at me and pointing, and the umpire pulled
- 19:17Speaker 1: me up.
- 19:19Speaker 5: Obviously. Falcons, everyone's had a falcon or two.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Sorry, can you explain that to me?
- 19:23Speaker 4: So a falcon is when the ball is thrown and
- 19:26Speaker 4: it hits you in the head and you don't catch
- 19:29Speaker 4: it right, So okay, But I will say, Catherine, one
- 19:31Speaker 4: of your best falcons was I was my first year
- 19:34Speaker 4: of commentary and you got such a good falcon. It
- 19:37Speaker 4: was just before the end of the game, and at
- 19:38Speaker 4: the end of the game I had to interview you
- 19:40Speaker 4: and I couldn't speak because all I could see was
- 19:42Speaker 4: the Gilbert logo on your phone.
- 19:48Speaker 1: From the god Dear I was primed for sponsorship, then
- 19:51Speaker 1: you should have hit them up at the time. No,
- 19:54Speaker 1: So we had a test series in Jamaica, and back
- 19:57Speaker 1: in the day, Jamaica were very very physical in the
- 20:00Speaker 1: defense end. Like, we would talk often about how we
- 20:03Speaker 1: would play them and how we would protect ourselves when
- 20:07Speaker 1: we were playing because they'd come in late.
- 20:08Speaker 5: They were just just because they're so athletic. It was
- 20:11Speaker 5: very very.
- 20:11Speaker 1: Hard to play them and not kind of get into
- 20:14Speaker 1: some sort of physical stuff. Anyway, so we had this chat.
- 20:18Speaker 1: A normal plumber sat us all down and said, if
- 20:20Speaker 1: you ever feel like it's getting out of control and
- 20:23Speaker 1: you've done everything you possibly can to try and protect
- 20:25Speaker 1: yourself and protect each other, maybe you need to say
- 20:28Speaker 1: something to the umpire along the lines of umpire, I'm
- 20:30Speaker 1: just not feeling safe or something like that, and so
- 20:32Speaker 1: we're like, okay, thinking about it whatever else. Anyway, in
- 20:35Speaker 1: the middle of this test match, I got taken out.
- 20:39Speaker 1: I don't think there was there might have been a
- 20:40Speaker 1: penalty call at the time because we had stopped, and
- 20:43Speaker 1: I turned to the umpire and said, umpire, I don't
- 20:45Speaker 1: feel safe right. The Jamaican defenders could not have laughed
- 20:50Speaker 1: any harder. But wait, what's worse. All of our teammates,
- 20:56Speaker 1: even though we had had the discussion, laughing just as hard.
- 20:59Speaker 1: So it's just standing there like I'd been a big
- 21:01Speaker 1: suky lala and I was asking for protection. I'm like, guys,
- 21:04Speaker 1: come on, we discussed this, this was planned, our coach
- 21:09Speaker 1: told us to do this. That was not a great moment.
- 21:11Speaker 1: I couldn't wait for that game to finish and to
- 21:13Speaker 1: get back on the bus and out of there.
- 21:14Speaker 4: So Coxie. I was watching the Swift's Giants Derby so good.
- 21:19Speaker 4: I love the whole crowd atmosphere.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Whoopy, we got all these towels in fat My daughter
- 21:27Speaker 2: and her mate went around and collected some afterwards. So
- 21:30Speaker 2: I now have fourteen of these little always the Swift
- 21:32Speaker 2: gym towels at home.
- 21:33Speaker 1: So I fantastic. They put them on every seat from
- 21:36Speaker 1: the start of the day.
- 21:37Speaker 5: Was unreal.
- 21:38Speaker 4: It's so good. I went to a baseball game in
- 21:40Speaker 4: the United States a few years ago, and it was
- 21:44Speaker 4: the Dodgers and the Phillies. It was part of the
- 21:46Speaker 4: World Series playoff, and we walked in and we all
- 21:48Speaker 4: got them. They were called rally rags, and then you know,
- 21:50Speaker 4: we way through the game like, get out your rally rags.
- 21:53Speaker 4: It's so good. So it was so great to see it,
- 21:55Speaker 4: and it looked like the atmosphere on court and all
- 21:58Speaker 4: the contest on court was just unbelieving, particularly in the
- 22:00Speaker 4: early parts. But Jamie Lee Price got sent off like
- 22:04Speaker 4: sinbin for a couple of minutes. Now that I'm not commentating,
- 22:09Speaker 4: I actually am not up to date with all of
- 22:11Speaker 4: the ins and outs of the sendoff. But now you
- 22:13Speaker 4: can obviously get sent off without a warning, do you reckon?
- 22:16Speaker 4: We'll see more of that this year because people don't
- 22:18Speaker 4: get sent off that much.
- 22:20Speaker 2: I don't think I've ever seen it before.
- 22:22Speaker 1: No, so Ben that was doing commentary yesterday actually mentioned
- 22:24Speaker 1: that it was Jamie Lee Price was the last person
- 22:27Speaker 1: to be sent off, and that was a couple of
- 22:29Speaker 1: years ago. And the rules have changed. There's no longer cautions,
- 22:35Speaker 1: so before you might get cautioned for something, and if
- 22:37Speaker 1: you got cautioned again for the same thing, then you
- 22:40Speaker 1: could you get warned or something.
- 22:42Speaker 5: It would get escalated.
- 22:43Speaker 1: So now there's no cautions and it's basically up to
- 22:46Speaker 1: the umpires kind of discretion as to what happens, what
- 22:49Speaker 1: they think has happened on court, and what the sort
- 22:52Speaker 1: of punishment. I guess all the penalty is. So it
- 22:54Speaker 1: can be things like advancing it down court. It could
- 22:57Speaker 1: be going from a free pass to a penalty, be
- 23:00Speaker 1: suspended for the two minutes, or he could.
- 23:01Speaker 5: Be completely ordered out of the game.
- 23:03Speaker 3: Oh so yeah.
- 23:05Speaker 1: So Jamie Lee Price's one was interesting because they interviewed
- 23:08Speaker 1: her at halftime about it and she felt like she
- 23:10Speaker 1: was hard done by, but because she was kind of
- 23:14Speaker 1: half bent over as the player went for the ball,
- 23:16Speaker 1: it looked like she was maybe tunneling, and it was
- 23:19Speaker 1: Ali Smith that went over the top of her and
- 23:20Speaker 1: hit the ground pretty heavy. So Jamie Lee, we've sent off.
- 23:24Speaker 1: She was in center obviously, so they had to replace her.
- 23:27Speaker 1: But they still had to play with just the six players.
- 23:30Speaker 1: And do you know what I found fascinating? And I
- 23:31Speaker 1: had so many lines and I thought I won't I'll
- 23:33Speaker 1: be a professional.
- 23:34Speaker 5: They went without the wing defense. Yes, that doesn't that
- 23:39Speaker 5: scream just so much about.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Equity and poor strategy. But I thought the Giants did
- 23:44Speaker 2: a great job of holding it in that two minutes. Yeah,
- 23:47Speaker 2: they were. The Swifts really didn't manage to capitalize much
- 23:51Speaker 2: on that in that two minutes.
- 23:52Speaker 4: The last time I actually played in a game where
- 23:54Speaker 4: someone got sent off for two minutes was the two
- 23:56Speaker 4: thousand and three World Cup against New Zealand. We're in Jamaica.
- 24:00Speaker 4: Tema para Clerk or tema para George got sent off
- 24:03Speaker 4: for a couple of minutes. Now, from my point of view,
- 24:06Speaker 4: then she should have been sent off for the whole game.
- 24:07Speaker 4: But that's only because she was one of the best
- 24:09Speaker 4: players on court when.
- 24:10Speaker 1: They beat us, and they still did beat us, and
- 24:12Speaker 1: they still yeah, exactly.
- 24:14Speaker 4: That hurts.
- 24:14Speaker 1: It's interesting you say, is do you think it will
- 24:17Speaker 1: happen more this season? Because I reckon there was a
- 24:18Speaker 1: couple of occasions prior to this that deserved it and
- 24:22Speaker 1: they didn't come. So I don't know if there's been
- 24:24Speaker 1: a bit of a chat throughout, you know, with the
- 24:26Speaker 1: umpires after each game they do their reviews whatever. But
- 24:29Speaker 1: I think also because this derby was going to be
- 24:32Speaker 1: so heated, it may have just been the umpires from
- 24:34Speaker 1: the get go, saying we're not standing for any of that.
- 24:36Speaker 5: We're going to rule it out, We're going to keep
- 24:37Speaker 5: control from the get go. But it was awesome. It's
- 24:39Speaker 5: good television.
- 24:40Speaker 2: I'm no expert, but I watch a lot of the
- 24:42Speaker 2: Sun Corps Super Netball, and this season feels a whole
- 24:44Speaker 2: lot more physical to me than the last couple of years.
- 24:46Speaker 2: I'm seeing a lot more of the players going down
- 24:49Speaker 2: hard on court, and like, am I imagining that?
- 24:52Speaker 5: Or is that?
- 24:53Speaker 3: No?
- 24:53Speaker 1: I mean, we've been saying this for a few years,
- 24:55Speaker 1: haven't we, Because the athletes are getting bigger and stronger
- 24:58Speaker 1: and faster. They're now calling professional athletes, but the courts
- 25:02Speaker 1: no bigger.
- 25:03Speaker 5: You think about.
- 25:04Speaker 1: Fourteen very very strong, large women fighting for the smallest
- 25:08Speaker 1: of spaces. Of course there's going to be collisions. But
- 25:10Speaker 1: how good is that too? Because it isn't it?
- 25:13Speaker 4: What was JP center? I shouldn't say sent off because
- 25:15Speaker 4: she wasn't sent off. What was she sent to the
- 25:17Speaker 4: sidelines for?
- 25:18Speaker 1: Well, she was sent to the sidelines. The umpire said
- 25:20Speaker 1: dangerous play, right, And I think that's probably the biggest
- 25:24Speaker 1: one that will get someone sent to the sidelines. Is
- 25:27Speaker 1: obviously earlier in the game, or just a bit after that. Actually,
- 25:30Speaker 1: I think when the frustration started to creep in, Joe
- 25:32Speaker 1: Harton had a little chat back at the umpire and she's.
- 25:36Speaker 4: Got a war.
- 25:37Speaker 5: Yes, so you can get into trouble for that as well.
- 25:40Speaker 5: But yeah, it.
- 25:41Speaker 2: Was so the Swift Center didn't say to the umpire
- 25:44Speaker 2: that she was feeling unsafe.
- 25:47Speaker 1: I'm so glad I told this story of bastards.
- 25:55Speaker 3: All right.
- 25:56Speaker 2: So one of the things Dribblers that we want is
- 25:57Speaker 2: to hear from you, and we have been through to
- 26:00Speaker 2: be getting so many messages from you guys, and nominations
- 26:02Speaker 2: for wind Beneath Her Wings Cat? What have some people
- 26:05Speaker 2: been saying about us?
- 26:06Speaker 3: Do you know?
- 26:07Speaker 1: I'm not surprised by that night. It's so many people
- 26:10Speaker 1: loved Liz's Mother's Day.
- 26:11Speaker 2: There's been lots of those people asking where they can
- 26:14Speaker 2: buy it.
- 26:15Speaker 4: I have been loving my Mother's Day presence.
- 26:21Speaker 2: If you don't know about Lizzellas's Mother's Day present, listen
- 26:24Speaker 2: to last week's episode and jump on the Instagram.
- 26:26Speaker 5: The gift that keeps on giving me, We've had lots.
- 26:29Speaker 5: You are the best great combo, the three of you.
- 26:31Speaker 5: This is coming from Jen Roberts bouncing off each other.
- 26:33Speaker 5: So well, thank you for giving me plenty of laughs
- 26:35Speaker 5: on my drive home from work today. Can't wait for
- 26:38Speaker 5: the next one, Julie mar that's how you pronounced it,
- 26:42Speaker 5: I believe so.
- 26:43Speaker 1: Coming from Aberdeen in Scotland, Aberdeen lasses the podcast is fabulous.
- 26:50Speaker 2: Do have to read that whole thing in the You
- 26:52Speaker 2: have to you've committed.
- 26:55Speaker 5: She says.
- 26:55Speaker 1: She's bursting out laughing whilst running on the treadmill is
- 26:57Speaker 1: a challenge and she's getting some very very strange looks.
- 27:01Speaker 2: Hope she's wearing a special gym Undies too, laughing while
- 27:03Speaker 2: you're running his time, Ah.
- 27:06Speaker 5: We did mention too. Last week.
- 27:08Speaker 1: We're talking about the scoreboard stuff up in nineteen ninety four.
- 27:11Speaker 1: It was the Contact versus Garble game and Liam Platt
- 27:15Speaker 1: has jumped on board and said has watched that game
- 27:17Speaker 1: a stack of times. The scoreboard area was cut out
- 27:20Speaker 1: from the broadcast, but he said that was also the
- 27:23Speaker 1: game that Sarah Ango's foot was run over in the
- 27:26Speaker 1: car park of her brother's football match.
- 27:30Speaker 4: So just to provide some context, Sarah Angove was the
- 27:32Speaker 4: goal shooter and her mum, Marg was a contact coach
- 27:35Speaker 4: and Sarah Angove was a gun in the day. She
- 27:38Speaker 4: didn't really progress part like she never played for the Diamonds,
- 27:41Speaker 4: but she was so good and she might have ended
- 27:44Speaker 4: up being goal attacking that game because Vicky Wilson came
- 27:46Speaker 4: in as a goal shooter. But when Liam said that,
- 27:49Speaker 4: I was like, oh my god, I remember that, and
- 27:51Speaker 4: there was this whole thing, will she play? Won't she play?
- 27:54Speaker 4: Will she I don't know if it was her brother's
- 27:55Speaker 4: football match or her what have been of boyfriend's. I
- 27:58Speaker 4: can't remember whose football match was, but I remember that
- 28:00Speaker 4: she got run like her foot got run over and anyways,
- 28:03Speaker 4: in true netballer styles, she took a tea spoon of
- 28:06Speaker 4: cement and played that game. And I think when I
- 28:09Speaker 4: was thinking about it, I think I might have mixed
- 28:11Speaker 4: it up and said that Garvel won, but I think
- 28:14Speaker 4: Garbled claim they won and contacts one in overtime. So
- 28:16Speaker 4: I still look back and go, oh my god, how
- 28:18Speaker 4: did that even happen?
- 28:19Speaker 2: But well, I'm going to ask Liam Platt to tell
- 28:21Speaker 2: us what happened, but we are unreliable sources totally, and
- 28:25Speaker 2: thank you for your message. Please please follow up and
- 28:27Speaker 2: let us know what actually happened in that game. But
- 28:30Speaker 2: there was no question her foot was deliberately run over.
- 28:32Speaker 2: Was It's not like one of those all blacks things
- 28:34Speaker 2: where it's like, oh, we were poisoned by.
- 28:36Speaker 5: Someone Nancy Kerigan.
- 28:39Speaker 2: I think we can genuinely accept that Tanya did whack Nancy.
- 28:46Speaker 4: Well, that's the allegation. It's all allegedly. Let's just get
- 28:48Speaker 4: allegedly in front of everything and we should be okay.
- 28:52Speaker 4: So do you want to do Win Beneath Our Wings?
- 28:54Speaker 3: Oh?
- 28:54Speaker 2: Absolutely, and Dribbler, as you know this segment, this is
- 28:57Speaker 2: where we give a shout out to those people who
- 28:59Speaker 2: keep our going at the community level every week, and
- 29:02Speaker 2: we are looking for more nominations. We would actually love
- 29:05Speaker 2: it if you would send us in an audio recording
- 29:08Speaker 2: of your nomination so we can play that now. Cath
- 29:10Speaker 2: and I are going to do a little video of
- 29:12Speaker 2: how to do a voice note on Instagram, so look
- 29:15Speaker 2: out for that because we're going to have to get
- 29:17Speaker 2: someone to show us and then we can say but
- 29:19Speaker 2: we would really love it. But we have had some
- 29:21Speaker 2: awesome nominations and I do have an update on the
- 29:24Speaker 2: price that we'll be sending soon, but let's have our
- 29:27Speaker 2: nomination first look.
- 29:28Speaker 4: So the nomination this week Ladies comes from Elizabeth Wacurl
- 29:32Speaker 4: and she's hit us up on the gram. She's loving
- 29:34Speaker 4: the podcast and she'd like to nominate Sally from the
- 29:37Speaker 4: Rokewood Football Netball Club. Apparently that's in the Central Highlands
- 29:41Speaker 4: Footy Netball League in Victoria. Now, Elizabeth said that Sally
- 29:44Speaker 4: is our netball warrior, always there when you need her,
- 29:47Speaker 4: organizers basically everything for the club as well as umpires
- 29:50Speaker 4: and she plays in our grade team. She's a bloody superstar.
- 29:53Speaker 4: So thank you Elizabeth and Sally you are my nomination
- 29:57Speaker 4: this week.
- 29:57Speaker 2: Oh Sally, you are the wind beneath our wings, bloody legend.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Let me just tell you because I didn't know where
- 30:02Speaker 2: roe Wood was, but it's a rural township forty kilometers
- 30:05Speaker 2: south of Ballarat on a minor road from the Geelong
- 30:08Speaker 2: area to Skipton and gazetted as a township in June
- 30:11Speaker 2: eighteen fifty three. There we go. Now we all know
- 30:13Speaker 2: about Ropewood, Victoria. Yeah, so thank you. Now we have
- 30:18Speaker 2: talked about how are we going to honor our wind
- 30:21Speaker 2: beneath our Wings award winners each week and we are
- 30:24Speaker 2: coming together with something. As I mentioned, it's going to
- 30:26Speaker 2: be of high sentimental value. It's not something that you
- 30:29Speaker 2: will be able to buy. It will be of low
- 30:31Speaker 2: financial value. But this week, as a bit of a hint,
- 30:36Speaker 2: I'm going to be looking at some samples so we
- 30:40Speaker 2: can start getting these things. I'm not going to say
- 30:43Speaker 2: at this stage exactly what it is, but it is
- 30:45Speaker 2: something that I'll rub between my fingers to check it out.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Do you taste them or it would be strange if
- 30:51Speaker 2: you did. I guess you could. And it's not a
- 30:54Speaker 2: sweet potato. I'm sorry I cannot produce the volume required
- 30:58Speaker 2: for that, but it's going to be good.
- 31:00Speaker 4: Alright, look forward to it. Can I just give a
- 31:01Speaker 4: little shout out? Also, while we're talking about fabulous people
- 31:04Speaker 4: within our sport Newcastle Netball Association, Del Saunders has been
- 31:09Speaker 4: sort of active within that association for a long long
- 31:12Speaker 4: time and Catherine and I both know her and I
- 31:14Speaker 4: just thought to say congratulations. She was named the eighteenth
- 31:17Speaker 4: Freemen of the City, which is apparently Newcastle's top accolade.
- 31:20Speaker 4: So that happened recently.
- 31:22Speaker 2: So what undell, how fabulous adele? Congratulations?
- 31:25Speaker 5: Yeah, big time? I remember her for more your coaching clinics,
- 31:28Speaker 5: Liz out there. Yeah, she's amazing.
- 31:30Speaker 4: Turn off and open everything up.
- 31:32Speaker 2: Now that you're not being coached anymore, Liz, you're going
- 31:34Speaker 2: to need a new vein for who to name your
- 31:36Speaker 2: chickens after. So maybe it should be someone like Adele
- 31:40Speaker 2: that you could name a chuck after next time you
- 31:42Speaker 2: get one.
- 31:43Speaker 4: Well, actually, we need some more chickens because you know
- 31:46Speaker 4: production has waned in recent times, So maybe I can
- 31:49Speaker 4: one of the We picked some win beneath our wingers
- 31:51Speaker 4: and we named chickens after them.
- 31:54Speaker 5: Although you're not having to buy eggs, are you? God forbid?
- 31:57Speaker 1: We're okay right, Given you've all got all these jobs
- 32:01Speaker 1: are not paying you any money.
- 32:04Speaker 4: Let me tell you chickens are twenty eight bucks ahead.
- 32:07Speaker 4: They're not cheap a chicken at all.
- 32:09Speaker 5: Come on, buy a chicken.
- 32:10Speaker 4: You got to feed them, Catherine.
- 32:16Speaker 2: We'll get the RSPC onto you if you buy a
- 32:18Speaker 2: check last person.
- 32:20Speaker 4: Imagine the ticks you get from all the mess.
- 32:22Speaker 2: Well, here's what I want to do before we wrap up,
- 32:24Speaker 2: is we have not once mentioned our Instagram account and
- 32:28Speaker 2: where people should be engaging with us, and so for
- 32:30Speaker 2: that address, I'm going to throw to you cat.
- 32:33Speaker 1: No Underscore Dribble Underscore podcast get on it people. There's
- 32:37Speaker 1: some great photos already up of perms. Compilation of perms
- 32:41Speaker 1: fantist out of me. There's a photo of Lizz's Mother's
- 32:44Speaker 1: Day present.
- 32:45Speaker 4: Which which will make your hair curl.
- 32:46Speaker 2: And we're going to put a photo up of my
- 32:48Speaker 2: sweet potato which you will love. But we're also going
- 32:50Speaker 2: to put a video up, as I said, of how
- 32:52Speaker 2: to send in your wind Beneath our Wings nominations. Please
- 32:54Speaker 2: tell us people's surnames if you can too, We would
- 32:57Speaker 2: love to have that. But that brings us to the
- 32:59Speaker 2: end of another fabulous time together. We've covered so much.
- 33:03Speaker 2: Apparently Lizellis got a new job whatever you know. Come on,
- 33:06Speaker 2: let's move on from that. That's so half an hour ago.
- 33:08Speaker 2: But we've had a great conversation and thanks very much
- 33:11Speaker 2: for joining me today. Kath Cox, Liz Ellis, and I'm
- 33:14Speaker 2: Carolyn Swindell. See you next week, dribblers.
- 33:16Speaker 4: Bye bye.
- 33:19Speaker 2: I feel unsafe in this conversation.
- 33:22Speaker 4: Yellow card a swim elb
