- 0:003 lifelong friends, 6 trusty balls and endless NFL takes.
- 0:05Welcome to Three guys 6 Balls NFL Podcast.
- 0:07Welcome to episode 13 of Three guys 6 Balls NFL Podcast.
- 0:11Today we have a special guest on the show.
- 0:14It is Garrett who is Avery's cousin who has a Seahawks fan.
- 0:17Garrett, why don't you start us off today by just telling us a
- 0:20little bit about how you became a Seahawks fan?
- 0:23Well, it was kind of during the peak Legion of Boom.
- 0:25My brother Hunter turned it on and I saw Richard Sherman lay a
- 0:29guy out and I was like, yeah, these are my guys.
- 0:32And ever since then I've just stuck that one team.
- 0:34I think the first Madden I ever played was 15, which was the
- 0:38only Seattle player to I. Was it Sherman that was on that
- 0:40cover? I think it was.
- 0:42And yeah, and I'm been a Seattle fan ever since.
- 0:45I love them. Where do you live?
- 0:46I. Live in North Carolina so it's
- 0:49complete opposite side. You're not a Panthers fan.
- 0:52No, not a pen. I do love the Panthers though.
- 0:54Do love the Panthers, you know, because that was kind of during
- 0:57the height of Cam Newton. So everybody, I did get a Cam
- 0:59Newton jersey for Christmas one year.
- 1:01Well, that didn't work. Out too well.
- 1:02No, did not. I'm so sorry we have to stop.
- 1:06Just literally everything. Did you say Richard Sherman's
- 1:09you only Seahawks player? It's everyone on the Madden
- 1:11cover. What he said, he was on, he was.
- 1:13On but, he said. He was he not the only No.
- 1:16No, he's not the Sean. Alexander.
- 1:17Alexander mad. No, I forgot about 10 years old.
- 1:20He's not. He's not old enough for that.
- 1:23I'm not old enough for Sean. I'm.
- 1:24Not a child. I didn't hear you say it was the
- 1:27only one. Yeah.
- 1:28I know. I stopped listening to anything
- 1:30else you said, Richard. Sherman I'm not old enough for
- 1:34Sean Alexander. I grew up during beast mode.
- 1:37Wait, how old are you? I'm 16.
- 1:39I turned 17 in August. OK, we'll cut you some.
- 1:41Slack, then this is important information to have a literal
- 1:45child. OK, OK, OK.
- 1:46I know, all right, this don't attack me for the world.
- 1:49Men, Garrett, you just we're. Not I know, Avery.
- 1:51You're the oldest cousin you know you're.
- 1:53Literally twice his age. Yeah.
- 1:56I got to keep all of them in line.
- 1:59All right, so Garrett, you were old enough to see the past that
- 2:02was intercepted at the 1 yard line?
- 2:04That is the first Super Bowl I remember, actually.
- 2:07Oh. Yes.
- 2:09Good memory. That's a rough point.
- 2:10Really tested your faith there. Yeah, You know, in fact, my
- 2:14brother's always like, why don't you just switch teams?
- 2:16I'm like, I can't. It's not how it works.
- 2:18Can't do that now. Won't you pick?
- 2:19One of your for life his. Brother did that, he was a Tar
- 2:22Heel fan and then he didn't get into Carolina, went to NC State
- 2:26and now he's a state fan, which is like Cardinal sin #1.
- 2:30That was TJ, not Hunter TJT. JTJTJ is watching.
- 2:35This He's dachshund all your cousins right now.
- 2:39He also went to the wrong team state.
- 2:43Not better, Worse than Duke. Would you rather be a Duke fan?
- 2:47They're not they They shouldn't be in the same conference.
- 2:50NC State is near Division Two, No.
- 2:54Russell Wilson. Yeah, he played Duffy Carroll,
- 2:58Carroll coach there for a few years, didn't he?
- 3:00You're going to set it shoot Diddy.
- 3:02Yeah, he did. He also said that there's only
- 3:05been 1 Seahawks player on that. OK.
- 3:08No, Carol did coach there and I think it was like.
- 3:10He did 80 to 82. He was the defensive
- 3:13coordinator, yeah. Oh, you remember that, Garrett.
- 3:17Yeah, yeah, I was. I was in the stands.
- 3:19But not Sean Alexander. I yeah, never going to live that
- 3:25down, am I? Nope.
- 3:26No, no, never. That's getting clipped.
- 3:29What's going on it? Is isn't it?
- 3:31We're going to have a little, have a little.
- 3:32Pinwheel that little Mac loading sign over Will's head when you
- 3:35say it, and he's just like. Honestly, it's your benefit that
- 3:40I've called you out on the show for it.
- 3:42Yeah, I didn't the. Internet was going to destroy
- 3:44you so. If we're self aware.
- 3:48About it the the punishment in the comment section is less.
- 3:51Because by the time people are typing the angry comment, Sean
- 3:53Alexander, I come in. Well, what about Sean Alexander?
- 3:56So you'll be OK. Rendering all other mean
- 3:59comments redundant because will already did it.
- 4:02Yeah, I appreciate it, Will. You take. 101.
- 4:06I'll think about it. Depending on how well you do the
- 4:08rest of the show, I might not put it on.
- 4:11Boy, he's only going to cut out my portion of calling you out,
- 4:14though. You're still going to say it.
- 4:18All right. Well, thanks Garrett for coming
- 4:20on with us today. We appreciate it.
- 4:21We're grateful to have a dedicated listener on the show.
- 4:25So thanks for being a fan and for coming on.
- 4:28So let's get into our first topic today, which is going to
- 4:31be which ringless quarterback will be the next one to win a
- 4:35championship. And so, Garrett, since you're
- 4:37our guest, why don't you get us started?
- 4:40Oh gosh, that is a tough one. I am thinking the most recent
- 4:44MVP, Josh Allen, I love Keon Coleman.
- 4:47Did he produce as much as I wanted him to this year?
- 4:49I don't think he did. I'm a big fan of Kincaid.
- 4:52Dion Dawkins I love, especially since they just got that
- 4:55protection of the year more. They're putting in this new year
- 4:57for offensive lineman. I think he's a great offensive
- 4:59lineman, beast to hold down on the line.
- 5:02But I think if Josh Allen can play his cards right, if the
- 5:05front office can play their cards right and get him some
- 5:07more wide receiver helped, I think he can definitely be the
- 5:10first quarterback, first ringless quarterback, OK to win
- 5:13one. OK.
- 5:14Well, you agree with I think the majority vote here.
- 5:17So on in our Instagram sports podcasters group, I put out a
- 5:22poll for which ringless quarterback would be the next
- 5:25one to win a championship and there was 22 total votes.
- 5:30Eight of those votes went to Josh Allen.
- 5:31So he received the most votes out of all the quarterbacks.
- 5:34And then just so you guys know the remaining votes, Lamar
- 5:37Jackson had five, Justin Herbert had three, Caleb Williams had
- 5:40two. Granted, they were both from
- 5:42Bears fans, so take that for what you will.
- 5:45Joe Burrow had one, Jayden Daniels had one, CJ Stroud had
- 5:48one and Baker Mayfield had one. Baker May.
- 5:51Who is that guy? Find him.
- 5:54I'm surprised Jayden Daniels didn't get one.
- 5:56He did. He had one.
- 5:57He did. Yeah, who voted?
- 5:59Baker Mayfield, I think a Bucs fan.
- 6:01They have to be. I think the only people that
- 6:03voted for their actual team are the two Bears fans and one
- 6:08Chargers fan. I know that guy.
- 6:11Shout out Tim answered the call and just just so you guys know,
- 6:14with the with this poll specifically with the Caleb
- 6:18Williams option, I put in parentheses next to his name.
- 6:21Be honest, Bears fans and they still both voted for Caleb
- 6:25Williams. That's probably why.
- 6:27Probably. Can't tell a Bears fan to be
- 6:30honest. All right, Well, Avery, who do
- 6:32you have as your guy? I'm.
- 6:33Going to go Bo Nicks. I thought you might go that
- 6:36route. No, I'm going to go Lamar
- 6:38Jackson for some reason, I just feel like he's going to sneak
- 6:41one out before Josh Allen. I think he can get it done
- 6:44before Josh. I like Josh.
- 6:45I think his team currently probably has the best shot, but
- 6:49we're talking about multiple years down the road just to be
- 6:52able to get one. Like I mean, you know, teams,
- 6:54the composition of the teams will change.
- 6:57I think Lamar gets it first. I thought about Lamar, but the
- 7:00reason I didn't pick Lamar is kind of also the same reason why
- 7:04I didn't pick Josh Allen. And it's kind of what we've
- 7:06talked about several times on the show is when you need that
- 7:11play, who does Lamar have to throw to?
- 7:14I know he's got Zay Flowers, but to me, Zay Flowers doesn't do
- 7:17it. He's a good receiver, but he
- 7:18doesn't do it for me. And they just signed DeAndre,
- 7:20DeAndre Hopkins, but he doesn't do it for me either.
- 7:23He's washed. He obviously has Mark Andrews.
- 7:26Yeah, I was going. I was going to bring that up
- 7:28too. He's he's got.
- 7:30Mark Andrews too. We all know how that ended last
- 7:33year. Didn't happen like twice.
- 7:35Yeah, twice. Yeah.
- 7:37He's never going to live that down.
- 7:39All right, Will, did you have either Josh Allen or Laura
- 7:41Jackson? I did not.
- 7:42I'm going to go off script here a bit.
- 7:44I'm going to take a bit of heat for this and I don't really
- 7:46care. I'm not saying will Howard,
- 7:48let's just go ahead and get that out of the way I was.
- 7:50Hoping you would not I. Want to personally?
- 7:53You would have been ripped apart for.
- 7:54Saying I think it's the right pick.
- 7:56No, I'm just kidding. I don't think it's the right
- 7:59pick. He's not the next RIP ring as
- 8:00quarterback to win. He is a ring as quarterback
- 8:03that's going to win, but not the next one.
- 8:05I'm going to go with Tua, and I understand that that is not a
- 8:09popular pick, especially by Avery's face.
- 8:12But when Tua is in and he's healthy, there are not a lot of
- 8:17quarterbacks better than him stat wise.
- 8:20Now granted, stats don't tell the full story.
- 8:22We've been saying for years that that team is completely using
- 8:25the quarterback. And when 2 is in, he is that
- 8:28quarterback. He is the guy that can do all
- 8:30the right things. They spent their first round
- 8:32pick this year bolstering their defensive line.
- 8:34A lot of their offensive weapons stayed.
- 8:36Tyreek is still there. Somehow Devon Atrian crushed at
- 8:41this time. Pretty close.
- 8:43At least he didn't say acne. This.
- 8:45Time I wanted to They've got a good running back core,
- 8:49especially Brandon, Ollie, Gordon.
- 8:51They bolstered their offensive line as well to hopefully keep
- 8:54two out of concussion protocol this year.
- 8:56I think that team has a team ready to do it.
- 9:00They're in the AFC East, so it's a winnable division.
- 9:03I understand the pills are there, but who cares?
- 9:06And so I I like to have all the ringless, if he can stay
- 9:12healthy, I like to. OK, that's interesting.
- 9:14I did not expect that at all. We didn't say DAC because I'm a
- 9:17Cowboys fan. Dude, no way.
- 9:19Yo, that I was. To say DAC because you're a
- 9:22Cowboys fan. You're right.
- 9:24Exactly. You're right.
- 9:25There's actually a reason why it didn't list DAC as a quarterback
- 9:29on that poll I sent out, because it's not going to happen if you
- 9:32give us some thoughts on Tua. Yeah, I mean, they could be Tua.
- 9:35I mean, if he's not on the Dolphins and he's injured and a
- 9:38better quarterback is up, like, then he might win a ring.
- 9:42Well, that's not going to. Don't see him staying healthy
- 9:44that cat that you know if. He goes to play backup for the
- 9:47Chiefs. The next two quarterbacks behind
- 9:49Tua are Zach Wilson and Quinn Ewers.
- 9:51So if it's not Tua, it's nobody. It's.
- 9:53Going to be one of those Nick Foles situations where like,
- 9:57it's not Tua in the Super Bowl, but he like wins by default kind
- 10:00of thing. I like Tua, though.
- 10:02It doesn't look like it, but I think I'll be honest, OK, I'm a
- 10:07little salty because I had Tyreek on my team and I see Tua
- 10:12go down and I just know Tyreek's not going to touch the ball that
- 10:15season and he didn't at all. God, Tua.
- 10:19What is? What is how is he getting
- 10:21injured? These concussions?
- 10:23What is this? Yes.
- 10:24Mostly. Concussion.
- 10:25Wait, you had Tyreke on your team this last season?
- 10:28Yeah, didn't you have McCaffrey too?
- 10:30Yeah. It was a small.
- 10:32League. How was last place?
- 10:35How did that come out for? You.
- 10:36I did. I was actually somehow in first
- 10:39for like the first I don't think like 4 weeks, 5 weeks.
- 10:43And then by the time the playoffs got there, I only had
- 10:46like 5 active players that were like still playing.
- 10:49I was one of those quitters. I hate them, but I was one of
- 10:52them. I.
- 10:53Traded for McCaffrey and it did not kept going well.
- 10:58I hope you didn't trade much. No, I didn't.
- 11:03I think a second next year and a second year after something like
- 11:07that. It was.
- 11:08Dynasty thing. Yeah.
- 11:10Oh, I have no idea how that works.
- 11:12I've never done dynasty. I'm on the drumline at my
- 11:14school, so everybody on drumline just does a whole big fantasy
- 11:18thing. And I won last year.
- 11:20And then I was like, oh, I kind of helped it running back and I
- 11:23saw that McCaffrey was hurt and I was like, I could probably get
- 11:26him for kind of cheap. He's going to come back and do
- 11:27great things. You would never find our
- 11:29drumline team participating in fantasy football.
- 11:34Different breed of people. I'm kidding, did we have a
- 11:41drumline or is it just marching band?
- 11:42Probably just marching band. There was people who called
- 11:44themselves a drumline. I'm sure we're trying to beat
- 11:46Nick Cannon, but it just, it just wasn't it.
- 11:49Yeah, times change. All right, well, I'm going to
- 11:52give you guys my quarterback. So I went with Jayden Daniels.
- 11:56He's 69% completion percentage. He had a quarterback rating.
- 11:59He had a quarterback rating of 100.1.
- 12:02He had 891 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns.
- 12:06A lot of people like to compare him to Lamar Jackson because of
- 12:08his running ability, but I'm actually going to compare him a
- 12:11little bit more to Patrick Mahomes.
- 12:13And the reason why is I just feel like when you watched
- 12:16Jayden Daniels play that we've talked about on this show
- 12:20several times, that, you know, the Chiefs just don't care about
- 12:22the regular season. And you can kind of tell when
- 12:24they play that Patrick Mahomes just does not care.
- 12:27Like, until the game is on the line and something needs to
- 12:30happen, he just doesn't really care.
- 12:32And the same thing when you watch Jayden Daniels last year,
- 12:35I just feel like he didn't really care what was happening
- 12:38in the game. Like anything that had happened
- 12:39prior in the game, Jayden Daniels did not care until it
- 12:43came down to it. Then he cared and he made the
- 12:45play. Once game specifically, I want
- 12:47to point out is against the Bears when they were down 18 to
- 12:5012 with two seconds left and somehow they pulled off a Hail
- 12:54Mary pass to beat the Bears. And there were several games
- 12:56where he led them down the field for a game-winning field goal.
- 12:59He led them to an overtime win. It just seemed like Jayden
- 13:02Daniels has that Patrick Mahomes type of luck where somehow he
- 13:06just wins the game even though he shouldn't.
- 13:08And I know it's only been one season, but he just, to me, the
- 13:11way he carried himself was very similar to Patrick Mahomes in
- 13:14the sense that it didn't matter what had happened prior to that
- 13:18last drive when it mattered, Jaden Daniels was going to win
- 13:22the game somehow. I mean, that was like
- 13:24conviction. You've got me convinced.
- 13:27The only thing I'm scared of for Jayden Daniels is he's going to
- 13:30have a little sophomore slump like CJ Stroud did this year.
- 13:33I think Jane Daniels is better than CJ's child, though
- 13:35significantly. I know it does happen a lot
- 13:37where we see a sophomore slump, but I think with the truly
- 13:40special quarterbacks, you don't see that.
- 13:42And after his rookie season, I think that Jayden Daniels is
- 13:45truly special. Now to try and convince Will
- 13:47even more, I'm going to throw out some stats here.
- 13:49You've made the sale all right. OK, so since 1998, there are 12
- 13:55different teams from the NFC that have gone to the Super
- 13:58Bowl, and there's been 23 different quarterbacks.
- 14:01For those 12 teams, there hasn't been a.
- 14:04Go ahead, Will. I'm just doing the math here
- 14:06since 1998. So we're talking 27 years,
- 14:10right? 27 years, 27 years, 12 teams.
- 14:14Yep, 27 years, 12 teams and 23 quarterbacks.
- 14:18That's not that. That's not enough.
- 14:20Anyway, continue. And this, that is fitting
- 14:23because the last team to go to the Super Bowl back-to-back is
- 14:26the Seattle Seahawks in 13 and 14.
- 14:28No team has gone to the Super Bowl in back-to-back years since
- 14:31the Seahawks did it in the NFC. So every year it's been a
- 14:34different team. So it was the Eagles last year.
- 14:36So that tells me that it's not going to be the Eagles this year
- 14:39just based off of history. The last team to do it before
- 14:42the Seahawks was in 96 and 97 when the Packers did it twice.
- 14:45If you look at the 27 years, 12 teams, 23 quarterbacks, then you
- 14:50go to the AFC now it's not since 1998.
- 14:53I did since 2001 for the AFC because that was Brady's first
- 14:56year winning the Super Bowl. But since 2001, so it's been 24
- 14:59years, 8 different teams, 7 different quarterbacks.
- 15:02Wow. So four different times has
- 15:04there been a team that has gone in back-to-back years?
- 15:07And I think that that just shows that in the AFC, you may have
- 15:10these guys like Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson who are really
- 15:14good quarterbacks, but you've also got the guy who rules the
- 15:17AFC and Patrick Mahomes. Just like when Tom Brady was
- 15:20there, he had Peyton Manning. And there's Ben Roethlisberger
- 15:23who did go to the Super Bowl and they won multiple Super Bowls,
- 15:26but they were spread out. They weren't, you know,
- 15:29back-to-back like Tom Brady. He didn't go to the Super Bowl 9
- 15:32times in the AFC like Tom Brady did.
- 15:34So I kind of feel like it's the same situation with the Chiefs.
- 15:36They've been to the Super Bowl, what, five times in the last six
- 15:39years? And then in the NFC, you have
- 15:42not the same team that's gone in back-to-back years since the
- 15:45Seattle Seahawks did it. And then before that you go all
- 15:47the way back to 97 before you have the last team that did it
- 15:51before the Seahawks. So it's just the pattern.
- 15:54So I feel like it's going to be an NFC quarterback.
- 15:56The chances of that happening in the NFC are higher than in the
- 15:59AFC, in my opinion. Although I will say this,
- 16:02there's only been one team in the AFC that's ever gone to the
- 16:06Super Bowl in four straight years.
- 16:08And we all know who that is, the Buffalo Bills, who lost all four
- 16:12Super Bowls. A little bit all to the NFC
- 16:14East. So history says that the Chiefs
- 16:17are not going to the Super Bowl again this year because that
- 16:19would be 4 years in a row. Which means to put all those
- 16:22stats together, we won't have the Chiefs or Eagles in the in
- 16:25the Super Bowl this year, Yes. Thank goodness.
- 16:27Hopefully we can get a couple teams where it's like the NBA
- 16:30right now. Got to have our basketball
- 16:32reference in there where it's like the NBA where there's going
- 16:35to be two teams who have never won a championship.
- 16:37I can't wait to see a Bears, Jaguars, Super Bowl guys.
- 16:42Yeah, I've seen the Bears have won, but you know, reality.
- 16:45You can get Lions and Texans. That could be interesting.
- 16:48Or I am? Really glad that someone said
- 16:51Lions because I was kind of thinking I was leaning towards
- 16:53golf, but Frank Ragnar retired today.
- 16:56He did, so I was. I mean, they just, they lose a
- 16:59massive piece of their offensive line.
- 17:01I don't know if he can. I don't know.
- 17:04I mean, he was injury prone, yes, but I don't know if they
- 17:07can take a hit like that on the offensive line and be able to
- 17:09keep up there. He couldn't take.
- 17:11Any like that? That's why he retired.
- 17:13Dan Campbell just going to put the pads on and go out there and
- 17:15play offensive line himself. So I don't I think I think
- 17:19they'll be fine. Actually probably have a
- 17:22Marlboro hanging out at one side, straw to a Bush light
- 17:26hanging out the other and just blocking his life out.
- 17:29No good deal. I did actually consider Jared
- 17:31Goff, too. The reason I kind of didn't pick
- 17:33him is kind of the same reason I feel like most people don't is
- 17:37Ben Johnson's not there as the offensive coordinator.
- 17:40But I did find a stat that kind of talked to me out of that a
- 17:44little bit. So even though I didn't pick him
- 17:47to make a case for Jared Goff real quick, you know everybody's
- 17:49saying that Jared Goff is not going to be as good without Ben
- 17:51Johnson, right? So last year with Ben Johnson,
- 17:54he had a quarterback rating of 111 point eights, which was the
- 17:57second best in the league behind Lamar Jackson.
- 17:59He completed 72.4% of his passes and he threw 37 touchdown
- 18:03passes. He had a career year last year
- 18:05with Ben Johnson as his offensive coordinator.
- 18:07However, Ben Johnson was also the offensive coordinator the
- 18:11two seasons before that when Jared Goff did not have career
- 18:14years. So I think he's going to be just
- 18:16fine without Ben Johnson. Just because he had a career
- 18:19year with Ben Johnson, it doesn't mean he can't have a
- 18:21career year without Ben Johnson. He's also had previous a
- 18:24previous year in his career where he had a quarterback
- 18:26rating over 100 when he didn't have Ben Johnson as his
- 18:29coordinator with the Rams. So just because Ben Johnson is
- 18:32not the coordinator anymore, it doesn't necessarily mean that
- 18:35Jared Goff is going to take a step back.
- 18:38I did a quick search for best ringless quarterbacks and you
- 18:42know who has the most passing yards?
- 18:43Who never had a ring? Who like in NFL history, who had
- 18:46the most passing? The most passing yards for a
- 18:48ringless quarterback career career wise?
- 18:51Yeah, start up for the game. So let me just insert it right
- 18:53in the middle here. The most passing yards for a
- 18:57quarterback who never won a Super Bowl championship?
- 19:00That sounded weird to say. What is that?
- 19:02Is this like newer era or older? It is.
- 19:05Is it merino? All time.
- 19:06No, I, I know, I know. I'm asking.
- 19:08For a hint I guess. Merino is third, and if it's
- 19:10gonna be third, merino is third. Wait, what era did you say he's
- 19:14in? I didn't.
- 19:15I just heard all time. Are you gonna give us a hint?
- 19:17Nope. Let me put it this way.
- 19:20You all watch this man play football.
- 19:22Phillip Rivers. Phillip.
- 19:23Rivers Bing. Bing Bing. 63,440 yards.
- 19:28The best thing to come out of state the.
- 19:30Best. Dude's got like 12 kids too.
- 19:35Yeah, the the number 2 is Matt Ryan right behind.
- 19:38Him and then and then Dan. Marino that really sucks for
- 19:42that, right? Yeah, it does 20. 3/28. 23 Yeah,
- 19:45yeah, yeah. And then you got Dan Campbell.
- 19:48Nope. What's that guy's name?
- 19:50Not Dan Camp. Marino, Dan Marino.
- 19:52No, no, no, no, no. He's the head coach for
- 19:54Washington now. Dan Quinn.
- 19:56Wrong, Dan. Oh, Dan Quinn took his foot off
- 20:00the gas. Just coasted his way to a Super
- 20:03Bowl overtime loss. I thought you were talking
- 20:06quarterbacks and that was like the only other Dan I know is
- 20:08Orlovsky. No, he ran out of the back of
- 20:10the end zone. Phillip Rivers, man, that guy
- 20:12was always a fantasy juggernaut. Yeah, I I was a Chargers fan
- 20:16because of him. Like, I wanted him to win.
- 20:19And then Nick Kading never wanted him to win their kicker.
- 20:22And so he just kept missing that shit right at the end.
- 20:24And it was just what are you going to do?
- 20:26Yo, fun fact, Phillip Rivers coaches high school football in
- 20:29Alabama now. Does his team go to the playoffs
- 20:31because he didn't win? He was in the NFL.
- 20:33The three a playoffs. Does Phillip Rivers have the
- 20:36same head coaching treatment that Brett Farve had in
- 20:40Mississippi? I don't know about that.
- 20:42What happened over there? No, probably not.
- 20:45No, this is a small school. Half the team are probably his
- 20:48kids. Doesn't he have like exactly 10
- 20:52to make like the exact amount that he needs to create an
- 20:56entire offense around him? Well, that would be 11.
- 21:00Around him now he. Would be the quarterback, he
- 21:02would be the. Quarterback.
- 21:03Around him, yeah, OK, He has, He has.
- 21:05To choose five of his kids to just put on a tremendous amount
- 21:08of weight. Well, thanks for that fun.
- 21:11Thanks for that fun little game there.
- 21:13Hey, no. Problem guys, I like that.
- 21:16All right, well, since Garrett is a Seahawks fan, we're going
- 21:18to talk a little bit about the Seahawks and maybe throw some
- 21:22NFC West in there as well. So kind of just start off with
- 21:26the Seahawks here, Garrett. So I want to talk a little bit
- 21:28about Sam Darnold. Oh gosh.
- 21:31So you guys signed in this offseason after trading Geno
- 21:34Smith and kind of just to throw out some stats from Sam Darnold
- 21:38here and then I have a question for you.
- 21:40Last season, Sam Darnold had a career year with the Vikings.
- 21:42He had a passer rating of 102.5, which was better than
- 21:46quarterbacks like Justin Herbert, Josh Allen, Patrick
- 21:49Mahomes, Jaden Daniels, and Jordan Love, just to name a few.
- 21:52That was the only season in his career that he's had a
- 21:55quarterback rating that was above 100.
- 21:58Prior to that, his highest quarterback rating was 92.6.
- 22:02That was in a season that he only played six games.
- 22:04Outside of that season, he had never had a quarterback rating
- 22:07that's above a 90. So this season with Sam Darnold,
- 22:10do you see him being able to repeat the success he had in
- 22:14Minnesota last year in his only good season of his career, or do
- 22:17you think that he's going to revert back to the Sam Darnold
- 22:20that we saw before he was with the Vikings?
- 22:23I am going to say he's going to revert back to the same old Sam
- 22:25Darnold, but I don't think he's going to be because of him.
- 22:28I think it's because he's going to go to Seattle kind of
- 22:30offensive line. They gave up the third most
- 22:32sacks last year. Yeah, that is a very big subject
- 22:37that every time I talk about Seattle, someone has to bring up
- 22:40the offensive line because kind of at the end of the season he
- 22:42was talking about how he was kind of going back to seeing
- 22:43some ghosts. I think with DK being gone, I'm
- 22:47glad we brought in Cup. He's more effective than DK was
- 22:49in the red zone, which is where we struggled massively.
- 22:51I'm a big, big fan of AJ Barner from Michigan, tight end.
- 22:56I think the supporting cast that we have in Seattle around him,
- 22:59excluding offensive line is great, but it's not Vikings type
- 23:02of great like they had last year.
- 23:04You know, I mean, they had Jay Jettis, Hawkinson came in a
- 23:07little late to the season, but he still played really well for
- 23:09them. Addison played well.
- 23:11I think we do the exact same that we did this season, maybe
- 23:14even slightly worse because Gino was decently elusive in the
- 23:17pocket whenever he needed to be. I don't think Darnold is our
- 23:21answer. OK.
- 23:22Well, I have a comparison to make between Sam Darnold and
- 23:25somebody else, and I want you guys to tell me if this is fair.
- 23:27Minnesota Vikings 2017 Case Keenum is the quarterback.
- 23:31Prior to signing with the Vikings, Case Keenum had never
- 23:34had a quarterback rating above an 88.
- 23:36He goes to the Vikings. He has his best year of his
- 23:38career. He had a quarterback rating of
- 23:4098.3. He had a career high and
- 23:42completion percentage with 67.6%.
- 23:45Then he leaves the Vikings after one season, goes to the Broncos,
- 23:49and has never had the same success that he had in his one
- 23:53season with the Vikings. That's kind of what I thought of
- 23:55when I thought about Sam Darnold and the Vikings.
- 23:57What do you guys think? Vikings got that magic.
- 23:59I guess they do. Different head coach too.
- 24:02That gives me any kind of hope for JJ McCarthy.
- 24:06I have have already said on this show and I have no hope for that
- 24:09guy. And I think the Vikings had a
- 24:11huge step back because of that. They're going to end up signing
- 24:13Kirk Cousins from the Falcons or trading for him.
- 24:16But if they can, if they had the quarterback whisperer up there
- 24:19in the North, then by George, do it.
- 24:21So Garrett, follow up with with that.
- 24:24So just to make sure I heard you correctly, so you said that you
- 24:27don't think Sam Darnold's going to repeat his success, correct?
- 24:30No, I don't think the answer. I would love for me to be wrong
- 24:32and you guys to edit back to this whenever we win the Super
- 24:35Bowl next year, but I don't think it's going to.
- 24:38Happen. You're going to look like a bad
- 24:40fan. If y'all win, everyone's going
- 24:42to look like a bad fan. I would love to be wrong.
- 24:44Whenever we signed him, I was in class and I was so happy.
- 24:48And then I got home and it kind of wore off and I was like, oh.
- 24:50So, guys, I'm going to go ahead and put it on the spreadsheet
- 24:52that Sam Darnold and the Seahawks are winning the Super
- 24:55Bowl. We heard you hear first from
- 24:56Garrett. It's with the highest odds, so
- 24:58if that happens you automatically win.
- 25:01Hey, I saw something the last two times there's been a new
- 25:04Pope. The following season of the NFL,
- 25:07the Seattle Seahawks made the Super Bowl.
- 25:09So. That's a fun fact.
- 25:11That is incredibly fascinating. We got we got something on our
- 25:15side this year. Yeah, OK, a Pope killer.
- 25:17This everyone's from Chicago though, so yeah.
- 25:20Does that mean any? Does that mean?
- 25:22Yeah. More like that Pope.
- 25:23Is probably still Seattle. Probably still Seattle.
- 25:25First time ever 2 NFC teams make the Super Bowl.
- 25:27Somehow, something wild goes on. They just changed the rules in
- 25:33the playoffs. What do you let me ask?
- 25:35What do you think of Jalen Melro?
- 25:38If he works on his accuracy, I think he'd be special.
- 25:40I love elusive quarterbacks. My favorite type of quarterback
- 25:44to watch. I grew up watching people like
- 25:46Cam Newton. I love elusive quarterbacks.
- 25:48I will never forget the game. I think it was in the playoffs
- 25:52like two years ago or something, whenever he was on the run and
- 25:54he just ran in front of the mine of scrimmage.
- 25:56He didn't know who's in front of the line of scrimmage.
- 25:58He just started throwing the ball and flashed his friend
- 26:00flying. If he can improve his pocket
- 26:03awareness, I can see him being a good bridge quarterback, not a
- 26:06kind of further down the line kind of quarterback.
- 26:08I don't think he's going to be that kind of, Oh my gosh, we're
- 26:11going to the Super Bowl kind of quarterback.
- 26:13I don't see that. So you're you don't think he's
- 26:15going to be like a Jalen Hurts or Lamar Jackson type?
- 26:18No. I do, you do.
- 26:20Avery actually picked him to. Have the best career of all the
- 26:23quarterbacks in this draft class.
- 26:25Really, I think he's going to. It may not.
- 26:28It may not be this year just because I think that they've
- 26:32paid Darnold enough to just be like, we're going to, we're
- 26:35going to as long as he's healthy, we're going to see
- 26:36where this goes with a full year.
- 26:38But no, I think, I think Melrose is going to be special.
- 26:41I would like the. Year he had previously at
- 26:44Alabama, which wasn't great in his Senior Bowl.
- 26:47So I have a couple stats to throw out in defense of Jaylen
- 26:49Melrose. In two years as a starter at
- 26:51Alabama, he actually completed 65% of his passes.
- 26:55OK, which for as bad as everybody says his accuracy is,
- 26:5865% is not bad. Now he did throw 17
- 27:02interceptions in those two years, but he also threw 39
- 27:05touchdowns. In one year he had 23 touchdowns
- 27:07and six interceptions. The next year he had 16
- 27:10touchdowns and 11 interceptions. So he actually got worse in his
- 27:13touchdown to interception ratio, but that can be fixed.
- 27:17Going back to Jalen Hurts and Lamar Jackson when they came
- 27:20into the league, Jalen Hurts didn't play the entire his
- 27:24entire rookie season, but in his rookie season the games he did
- 27:27play he only completed 52% of his passes and he's gotten
- 27:30consistently better throughout his career.
- 27:33And now look at what he is Lamar Jackson.
- 27:35In his first season, he only completed 58.2% of his passes
- 27:39and then he's gotten consistently better as a passer.
- 27:42So if Jalen Millroe can kind of follow that same trajectory, I
- 27:46think he can be the future franchise quarterback for the
- 27:49Seattle Seahawks. I mean, not better than Will
- 27:51Howard, but I mean, I think that's just.
- 27:54I don't hate Will Howard. Oh no, I am not a complete.
- 28:01I know a lot of people are not. I am not a hater in Will Howard.
- 28:06Is he going to be for all winning?
- 28:09No, but I could see him taking the team to the playoffs.
- 28:12Tim Tebow took the team to the playoffs.
- 28:13OK, let's Rex Grossman. We talked about that last week.
- 28:16Rex Grossman took a team all the way to the Super Bowl.
- 28:20OK, it can't be that hard. I.
- 28:22Mean he also has that Pittsburgh black magic over there.
- 28:24Of losing in the first round at. Least 2 next man.
- 28:28No secondary, Secondary. By marriage.
- 28:31By marriage. The Steelers, the Steelers are
- 28:34like, are like for me, are like your Panthers.
- 28:37Oh. Yeah, I will root for the
- 28:40Panthers every time I see them, except if they're playing
- 28:43against Seattle, which they are playing in Carolina for the
- 28:45first time since 2019 against Seattle.
- 28:47And this is going to be the first Seattle game I go to on
- 28:49December 27th. I went to the Panthers Seahawks
- 28:52playoff game in Charlotte. This had to have been like 2015
- 28:56or 16. Was it the year they the
- 28:58Panthers went to the Super Bowl? Yeah, I remember.
- 29:00The Seahawks just blew it. I think.
- 29:02I even think I can't. Remember, if it was the seat it
- 29:04might have, one of the teams was up.
- 29:06I think it was the Panthers and then I can't remember.
- 29:09I think it might have been the Seahawks.
- 29:10They were just playing not to lose for like two quarters and
- 29:14you just see that just that lead just dwindle.
- 29:17My God, in real time. I remember because we got
- 29:20heckled. It was me and Austin, it went,
- 29:22we got heckled the whole way up on the way back.
- 29:26No one said a word to us. That's how bad the loss was.
- 29:29They're like these guys are going through it.
- 29:31I don't need to my. First Carolina, my first
- 29:35Carolina game I went to, I was in like third grade, My dad took
- 29:38us against Miami and we blew him out of the water 49 to 10.
- 29:41And there was this Miami fan right behind us that left in
- 29:44like the middle of the 3rd and it was.
- 29:46It was a fun sight to see. I can only imagine how polite
- 29:49everybody is over there for it. Which team?
- 29:52Is the worst fan base that's off topic.
- 29:56Eagles. Eagles, Eagles, Eagles, Yeah.
- 29:59Snowballs. Or yeah or.
- 30:01I have never met. In their stadium a.
- 30:05Jail in their stadium. And a judge.
- 30:07They have a jail and a judge in their own stadium.
- 30:10It is the Eagles, there is no question.
- 30:11It's just, it's just Philadelphia stuff.
- 30:13They. Have to do that yeah just Philly
- 30:15things right it's. Public safety.
- 30:17Do y'all remember whenever New England and Philly played and
- 30:22before the Super Bowl, New England started like waxing down
- 30:25all their light poles because they were like, win or lose,
- 30:27we're getting just like our city's being destroyed tonight.
- 30:29We're not even Philly. They have to, yeah.
- 30:32And. Then I lost.
- 30:33And no one can climb up those poles.
- 30:35They still do anyway. That's not true.
- 30:36They still do. It's just a tense person instead
- 30:38of the first person. Everyone, you're telling.
- 30:42All the Vaseline off the poles. Exactly.
- 30:45All that city funding going to greasing up the poles as in
- 30:50world. War Z, it's just all the zombies
- 30:52piling up and eventually just have a mass underneath them.
- 30:55They can get up enough. People try to go up that pole,
- 30:58Eventually it'll be dry. Shout out.
- 31:02I would have to agree with Avery though.
- 31:04I I do not like 49ers fans at all.
- 31:08I think 49ers fans may be the most ignorant, and I know what
- 31:11I'm saying and where I'm saying that.
- 31:13I I think they may be the most ignorant, but I think Eagles
- 31:16fans are the worst and there's a difference.
- 31:18There's I can I can agree with that. 49ers fans are just
- 31:21annoying because they make every player a 49ers Dodd I.
- 31:25Mean it's because I grew up with them.
- 31:28If you. Weren't a Seahawks fan in
- 31:29Oregon, You were a Niners fan. I mean, unless you just had some
- 31:32weird other allegiance, but. I don't remember the last time I
- 31:35saw a Carolina fan in Carolina. We're we're so bad now that
- 31:40every time I'm like, oh, do you like the Bengals or the Niners
- 31:44or just some random team, everyone?
- 31:46In North Carolina calls them the South Carolina Panthers like.
- 31:49Just. Wash our hands of this.
- 31:52After Cam Newton didn't die for that fumble in the Super Bowl,
- 31:55they're just like, OK, it's time to hang it up.
- 31:57Is TJ still a big Panthers fan? Yeah, I I'm pretty sure.
- 32:01He just doesn't say it out loud. He doesn't say anything out
- 32:04loud. Our cousin's mute.
- 32:09He works at the movie theater, so he'd get free movie theater
- 32:12tickets and he would he would use his free movie ticket to sit
- 32:16on the end and then buy one next to him so no one could sit next
- 32:19to. Him movie theater corruption.
- 32:21I respect you also. Yeah, you got to do what you got
- 32:23to do. He is still a Carolina fan cuz
- 32:25he was talking. He was like Jalen Coker is
- 32:27better than Jackson 5th and Jalen and he's just going on
- 32:29this long rant about how everybody was better than
- 32:30Jackson 5th and Jig though. OK, well, he doesn't know what
- 32:33he's talking about. No, Hey TJ, he's a watching.
- 32:36Probably. I can guarantee you that like
- 32:3895% of NFL fans don't even know who Jalen Coker is.
- 32:42Watching him bring back that tutty all the way to the house,
- 32:45I didn't expect him to score on that play either.
- 32:48He just brought it all the way well.
- 32:49To be fair, nobody, nobody expected the Panthers to score
- 32:53on any play. True, including Bryce Young.
- 32:58The the Panthers top three wide receivers, 2 of them being on
- 33:02drafted free agents is amazing. They should be able to.
- 33:05If you have like consecutive abysmal seasons.
- 33:08There should be a clause to like remove the owner.
- 33:11It should be some move you. Need like when we talked about
- 33:14you can't trade like your owners.
- 33:16You can trade coaches, not owners, but there should be some
- 33:18sort of clause where it's like, look like the city's going to do
- 33:21this to you by force, just evict you right now.
- 33:25Jerry Jones would have been long gone.
- 33:28Oh yeah, he's never Jones would have been gone a long time.
- 33:31He's never been consistently bad though.
- 33:33That's the problem. He's bad and he's fine and he's
- 33:35bad again. Or he.
- 33:37Had There was all those, there was all those seasons where
- 33:40Jason Garrett went. Yeah, I was going to say there's
- 33:42a 10 years of Jason Garrett where we were just extreme
- 33:44mediocrity. The.
- 33:46Best mediocre team you could find?
- 33:48You can't get better because you keep doing OK all.
- 33:53Right, let's get back to the Seahawks.
- 33:55If we have to, OK. So, OK.
- 34:00All right, Garrett, so another question for you.
- 34:03So considering all the moves that the Seahawks have made in
- 34:05their wide receiver room this season, do you think the
- 34:08Seahawks got better or worse at wide receiver?
- 34:11To start off, I love cup. I've always loved Cup.
- 34:15He was on the Rams so I hated him, but I secretly loved him.
- 34:18I loved watching him play, watching him play against US.
- 34:21One of our biggest struggles is in the red zone.
- 34:23Couple is more effective than DK was in the red zone last year.
- 34:26I love Tory Horton from Colorado State, maybe a little biased
- 34:29because one of my really good friends goes to Colorado State,
- 34:30but I still love Tory Horton as wide receiver himself.
- 34:33I think we did get slightly worse losing DK because I love
- 34:37Jackson but don't get me wrong. But I feel like part of the
- 34:40reason that he had such great success was DK is just an
- 34:43athletic freak that he was just getting double teamed every
- 34:46time. Takes some men off him.
- 34:48But I think if Jason can really lock in that wide receiver one
- 34:53position top can really fill in that two.
- 34:57I think we also got bout as scantling.
- 34:59I think he's going to be the three.
- 35:01I love Bobo, every Seattle fan loves Bobo.
- 35:03He was a great red zone threat for us.
- 35:06So again, all we showed them in the red zone moving on from Gino
- 35:10going to Sam Darnold and then moving on from DK going to Cup.
- 35:13I think we're really going to improve where we're struggling
- 35:15the most, which is most of what we can hope for.
- 35:17But I think we did get slightly worse by the Super wise for now.
- 35:21But I think in the future Tori Horton, JSN, they're going to be
- 35:24a solid budget in the future. But stating now, I think we got
- 35:28slightly worse. Out of all the players and
- 35:31coaches that Seattle lost, which which one hurts the most?
- 35:35I get one Seattle Seahawk jersey a year for Christmas. 2 years
- 35:39ago was DK Metcalf so that's one year just wasted.
- 35:44So I loved DK love him to death. Now he gets to.
- 35:47Go play with Will Howard, the next MVP of.
- 35:50I know, I know of the. Year you watch your mouth.
- 35:53Side comment I randomly just remembered this.
- 35:56The starting middle linebacker for the Seattle Seahawks,
- 35:58Earnest Jones. The Fort follows me back on
- 36:00Instagram. What I commented on one of his
- 36:04posts because he posted about him and his wife having a baby
- 36:06and I was like ah Congrats. Just I never, I never comment on
- 36:09any posts. It's just the one that I
- 36:10commented on and I wake up to notification saying that he
- 36:13followed me back so. Are you sure that's legit?
- 36:17It is. I have like triple checked.
- 36:20I'm going to go look him up now and just comment on his post and
- 36:22just say Congrats regardless of what the.
- 36:25Post is he follows you back. He's followed by Seattle.
- 36:30I mean, he's verified. I'm 99% sure it's in.
- 36:34I have a player who has a ring following on Instagram right now
- 36:37so. The guy that followed him also
- 36:39said that he's in some financial straits and needs 500.
- 36:42Dollars in. Amazon gift cards straighten out
- 36:45his situation. Click this link.
- 36:50If you know for one of those, I have Geno Smith with me right
- 36:54here. He also says he wants some
- 36:55money. All right.
- 37:00Next question for you, Garrett. Which NFC West rival do you hate
- 37:04the most and why? The 49ers, because of their
- 37:07fans, they think that they are just the best team ever.
- 37:10And then they for a short piece of time, we're the best team
- 37:12ever. And then they lost the Super
- 37:14Bowl. So you know.
- 37:15Just to throw this out there, they haven't won a Super Bowl in
- 37:18a longer amount of time than the Dallas Cowboys.
- 37:21Yeah, eat it. I have been to three but they
- 37:24haven't won it. When you've been there, yeah.
- 37:26OK, pal. OK.
- 37:28Yeah, I think their downfall will be extending party for as
- 37:31much as they extended 10/4. Agreed.
- 37:34All right. Well, couple last questions here
- 37:36and then we will wrap this up. So Will actually has a question
- 37:40from one of our fans who is a Seattle Seahawks fan that he
- 37:43wanted us to ask you. Is this from Garrett?
- 37:47Yeah, it's I have myself. Requested.
- 37:49So I openly talk about this show.
- 37:53I usually leave the name out, but openly talk about that, do
- 37:57this show at work. And I've got a guy who has seen
- 38:00every episode and messages me every Wednesday asking when the
- 38:05new episode's going to be out. He wants to know.
- 38:08And let's start with the easy one.
- 38:09Top five favorite Seahawks players of all time.
- 38:12And if you say Sean Alexander, I'm going to know you're lying.
- 38:17Top five Bobby Wagner command number.
- 38:21One Wagner 5 or one? Are we ranking them?
- 38:25No order, just just name five players that you probably can
- 38:28name. Bobby.
- 38:29Wagner will inevitably ask which one is top, but go.
- 38:32Ahead, Bobby Wagner, Marshawn Lynch, Richard Sherman, Russell
- 38:37Wilson, Steeler. And got to go with my boy who
- 38:44follows me back, Ernest Jones, The Force.
- 38:46Checks out. He can.
- 38:48I love him, but he's not up there.
- 38:50My favorite being Russell Wilson.
- 38:52He is Mr. Unlimited. Watching prime Russell Wilson
- 38:56was the best experience I think I will ever have in my life.
- 39:00Oh. Three years.
- 39:01Oh. Watching him throw that
- 39:03interception, the Super Bowl was pretty great, too.
- 39:05Watching him audible out of it cuz everybody's like why would
- 39:08Pete Carroll call that but Russell Wilson audible out of a
- 39:10run into a pass. Can't win them all, especially
- 39:13that one, even though it's very winnable.
- 39:15That's not the point. Next question here.
- 39:21Do you feel nervous about the shake up Mike McDonald's done in
- 39:24the offseason so far? And we've kind of talked about
- 39:26this a bit, but what what do you think it's going to take to
- 39:30become an actual contender for Seattle?
- 39:33What's an actual contender? Yeah.
- 39:35So so do you feel, how do you feel about the current shake up
- 39:38Mike McDonald's doing and what is it going to take to become an
- 39:41actual contender? Mike McDonald is a very big
- 39:45Defensive Monday coach. He brought us from kind of a
- 39:47bottom tier defense to a really, really amazing defense to what I
- 39:52think we will become. We ranked 14th this year, but we
- 39:55also placed 23rd overall in offense, placing 8th in passing,
- 39:5928th in rushing. It also kind of depends on our
- 40:01general manager. He's come out multiple times and
- 40:03said he doesn't want to spend a lot of money on a guard that's
- 40:06just going to protect the quarterback.
- 40:08I love the Grays able pick though, getting an offensive
- 40:10lineman that's not just going to protect the quarterback like
- 40:13thinks it's going to do, but also bumping up that 28th and
- 40:15rushing to helping protect Kenneth Walker the 3rd and Zach
- 40:19Chardnay in the rushing game is really really going to help us
- 40:22improve a lot. I also love the one of our
- 40:25second round picks. Nick even worry from South
- 40:27Carolina ran a 43840 time placed second in all safeties this year
- 40:32by point O1 to Mark waste single sigil.
- 40:37I cannot pronounce the safety who ran faster than him.
- 40:40I don't even. I suck at pronouncing names.
- 40:42Kind of like Will. There hasn't.
- 40:43Been any. Sheepers.
- 40:46Pal, I was going to say, there hasn't been any lack of
- 40:49mispronunciations on this show, so.
- 40:51It's asking solid questions and catching strays in the answer 1.
- 41:00Of the biggest concerns that I hear about Grey's label is that
- 41:04he played it North Dakota State, which is AD 2 school.
- 41:08But there are two notable 2 notable NFL players.
- 41:13At least. The only two notable ones I
- 41:14could find that played there were Christian Watson and Carson
- 41:18Wentz. That's not a great list.
- 41:21I'm I could not be happier you didn't bring up Trey Lance.
- 41:25I was for sure you were going to say Trey Lance, but Nope.
- 41:31Nope. We're going to stay away from
- 41:34Trey Lance for a second. I also think this is going to be
- 41:37a Byron Murphy, the second kind of explosive kind of year.
- 41:41Our first round pick last year. I love this pick out of Texas.
- 41:45A lot of people said that he was kind of like an Aaron Donald 2
- 41:49point OI don't think he'll be that good, but he ate up a
- 41:53massive amount of blocks this year to make way for people like
- 41:57Hankins, you know, boy Mafay, Leonard Williams obviously kind
- 42:01of been a more rotational player, but I think once he kind
- 42:04of steps up to the plate, he's going to just get to the
- 42:07quarterback every single play, kind of like a Miles Garrett,
- 42:10he's going to play defensive tackle.
- 42:12So Leonard Williams is also getting a little old.
- 42:14So that's one address for that's kind of going to be gone.
- 42:18We fired our offensive coordinator, which I am
- 42:21extremely happy that we did, and then we took New Orleans
- 42:24offensive coordinator Clint Kubiak.
- 42:27Kubiak, Kubiak, thank you. Would I have had him over some
- 42:33amazing other offensive wonder? No.
- 42:35But I believe for us and our system, he is the best one that
- 42:39was available for us. He knows how to manage run game
- 42:42like he did with Alvin Kamara. He's going to do with Chardonnay
- 42:45and Kenneth Walker. And I think he can also really
- 42:47kind of settle us into that passing game, especially Sam
- 42:50Darnold being new into our team. I think if we can bolster up the
- 42:55offensive line a little bit, kind of start feeding Kenneth
- 42:57Walker, Chardonnay a little bit more, getting that from 28th and
- 43:00rushing up a little bit. That is abysmal for spending two
- 43:03straight second round picks on running backs.
- 43:05If Tori Horton, Marquez, Marquez, Valdez, Scantling Gosh
- 43:10and Cooper Cup play how expecting to play, I think we'll
- 43:14have no problem at least making a seven seed this year.
- 43:17OK will what's your coworkers name?
- 43:18Joey Case, Joey. Thanks for your question.
- 43:21Oh yeah. Not even just the first.
- 43:25Nope, I want him to know pure love for me.
- 43:29Joey. Joey, we.
- 43:31Appreciate your questions. It's the first fan question
- 43:34we've had on this show. So we appreciate you you you
- 43:38reaching out and giving those questions to will for us to
- 43:41answer on the show. All right, Garrett, last thing
- 43:43here. So this isn't necessarily a
- 43:45question, but I want to do this record prediction.
- 43:47So I'm just going to go through the schedule for the Seahawks
- 43:50and I want you just to tell us. You don't tell us why.
- 43:53Just tell us. Win or loss on each game.
- 43:55So Week 1, home versus the 49ers, that's a loss.
- 43:59OK. Week 2 at the Steelers.
- 44:01It's a win. Week 3 Home versus the Saints.
- 44:04The Saints, I think it's a win. Week 4 at.
- 44:06Cardinals, that's a win week. Five home versus the Bucks
- 44:10that's. Going to be close.
- 44:12I'm going to go lost. Week 6 at Jags.
- 44:15When? Week 7 at or Week 7 is versus
- 44:19the Texans at home. I'm going to go lost.
- 44:23And the Seahawks aren't good at home, are they?
- 44:26They did terrible at home this year.
- 44:28They won far more games on the road than at home this year.
- 44:31All right, Week 8 is a bye, Week 9 is at Commanders.
- 44:35That's a loss. Week 10 at home versus the
- 44:37Cardinals. That's a win, not lost the
- 44:39Cardinals in four years. Week 11 at the Rams.
- 44:43At Rams, I'm going to go lost. Week 12 at Titans, That's a win.
- 44:47Week 13 at home versus the Vikings.
- 44:49I'm going to say JJ McCarthy does exactly what I expect to do
- 44:52this year and kind of go off a little bit.
- 44:53So I'm going to say it's a loss week. 14 at Falcons.
- 44:57Hit that as a win. Week 15 at home versus the
- 44:59Colts. That's a win.
- 45:01Week 16 at home versus the Rams. That's a win.
- 45:04Just barely, though. Week 17 at Carolina.
- 45:08That's a win. And Week 18 at 49ers.
- 45:12That's a win, OK. So let me tell you this up here.
- 45:14So we've got 123567891011 wins, 6 losses.
- 45:22That's 11:00 and 6:00 and. Yeah, Oh yeah, with.
- 45:24Your wins and losses over your divisional rivals there.
- 45:27You have more in the West. I think they can do it.
- 45:30I think with the Niners losing drag, Greenlaw and Hufunga, they
- 45:34kind of their defense kind of dies down a little bit.
- 45:36Them trading away Debo was kind of a need, but if he goes off in
- 45:40Washington, it'll be kind of sad for them.
- 45:42Cardinals, no reason other than we haven't lost them in four
- 45:45years. I don't expect to now.
- 45:46And Rams, we always have trouble against them, but we always do
- 45:50better on the road because Seattle fans always sell their
- 45:54tickets so. OK, well we have a Seahawks fan
- 45:57in our sports podcasting group on Instagram.
- 46:00He predicts the Seahawks to go 12:00 and 5:00.
- 46:03I think Max 12 and 5 minimum like 8 and 9 minimum.
- 46:10I'm going to put that on our spreadsheet.
- 46:12Oh, yeah, that's a prediction. OK, well, there you have it.
- 46:15Seahawks are going 11 and 6. They're going to win the NFC
- 46:18West. That's all we have time for on
- 46:20the show today. Another big thank you to Garrett
- 46:22for coming on and being our guest today and talking about
- 46:25the Seahawks with us. We appreciate it.
- 46:27Stay tuned for next week with more NFL talk.
- 46:29We will be back. And as always, don't forget to
- 46:32keep your balls played with. We'll see you next time.
- 46:35Also, Mark Davis's haircut still sucks.
