- 0:57SPEAKER_00: For 11 generations, the Neely family has been making whiskey.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: Long before there was a distillery in Sparta, Kentucky, there were family recipes, copper stills, moonshine runs, and a tradition passed from one generation to the next.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: Today, that history lives on at Neely Family Distillery.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: Here, whiskey is made with sweet mash fermentation, open-top cypress fermenters, and copper pot stills.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: But history here doesn't just sit behind glass.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: An original French absinthe still built in the 1890s is still producing spirits today.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: And now a brand new three-chamber column still begins another chapter.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: Old World Tradition.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: Eleven generations later, the Neely family is still doing what they've always done.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: Making whiskey.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: Neely Family Distillery.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: Come find your bottle.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: For more information, visit Neely Family Distillery.
- 3:09SPEAKER_03: Welcome back to another podcast of the Scotchy Bourbon Boys.
- 3:17SPEAKER_03: The ultimate of the ultimate bourbon hunters is with us and joining us tonight.
- 3:24SPEAKER_03: Welcome, welcome, Super Nash.
- 3:31SPEAKER_01: Well, say that what?
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: What?
- 3:33SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 3:33SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 3:34SPEAKER_01: I'm James Hoy, uh World Series Major League Baseball Empire.
- 3:39SPEAKER_03: And I'm um with Milwaukee Brewer fan.
- 3:44SPEAKER_03: You know, it's just like I it's just like I'm ready to go for this World Series.
- 3:49SPEAKER_03: Greg Schneider's already to that's 0-0 after the first.
- 3:53SPEAKER_03: There you go.
- 3:55SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that one, that one on the game on game one.
- 3:59SPEAKER_03: I pretty much lost my mind on that one.
- 4:02SPEAKER_03: It's just like, I just want to know what the the hands up on the second one.
- 4:06SPEAKER_03: Hey, it's just like safe.
- 4:08SPEAKER_01: I've watched I believe he he knew they needed to cover that point spread.
- 4:13SPEAKER_01: He's like, I got this, I got this.
- 4:16SPEAKER_03: I mean, I just uh that one that one was so intriguing that that hand because I've you know people people are trying to say what a swing is and all this.
- 4:27SPEAKER_03: I've been watching baseball since I've been since I've been on.
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: So many breakdowns this past week.
- 4:33SPEAKER_01: Eight years old past couple of days, it's it's been unreal.
- 4:37SPEAKER_03: I that that happened six, seven times a game, and I could tell on TV, I could tell when everyone's gonna be a strike, when it's not a strike.
- 4:47SPEAKER_03: I mean, I know the strike zone because I've watched so many games and I know the safe sign.
- 4:53SPEAKER_03: I know when they swing and when they don't.
- 4:55SPEAKER_03: I know what a swing is.
- 4:57SPEAKER_03: I could see it.
- 4:58SPEAKER_03: If they start and try and stop, it's a swing.
- 5:02SPEAKER_03: It's almost you have to kind of like think you're gonna swing for it to be a check swing.
- 5:09SPEAKER_03: If you start, there's no stopping.
- 5:11SPEAKER_03: And both of them.
- 5:12SPEAKER_03: Game one, when he was when he swung and that happened, thank God it didn't cost us.
- 5:18SPEAKER_03: And then game two, it was a swing.
- 5:21SPEAKER_03: I don't care what anybody says.
- 5:22SPEAKER_03: And last night, Contreras, he swung.
- 5:25SPEAKER_03: I mean, I I almost instantaneously watching baseball on TV for so long.
- 5:32SPEAKER_03: You can't, I don't give a crap what the rule is, what it isn't, if it's interpretation, it's not.
- 5:38SPEAKER_03: I know what the umpires judge is a swing, and I can see it from the start, and I'm almost always there.
- 5:46SPEAKER_03: You can the only time you're wrong is when it was a swing, and the and somehow the rep the umpire decides he it's just not going to be a swing.
- 5:56SPEAKER_03: So whatever it is, it is.
- 5:58SPEAKER_03: And that did lead to an extra run, which instead of and and that that it was a wash.
- 6:06SPEAKER_01: I like what Greg says last night they should have imposed the mercy rule.
- 6:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that was I Greg, honestly, so what's so awesome about that in '82, the first game of the World Series, the Brewers were in uh St.
- 6:24SPEAKER_03: Louis, and Molliter and Young Young both Mollater was five for five.
- 6:30SPEAKER_03: Nobody had ever gone five for five in a World Series.
- 6:33SPEAKER_03: It's hard to get up five times, plus get a hit every single time.
- 6:37SPEAKER_03: And and but they they won, I believe, 10 to nothing.
- 6:41SPEAKER_03: And it was the first game, and it was just so awesome.
- 6:44SPEAKER_03: But it was the first game.
- 6:46SPEAKER_03: Lost the second game.
- 6:47SPEAKER_03: The whole eventually it went seven, and we lost.
- 6:50SPEAKER_03: But this was awesome after winning two games close as hell, and then to have that, it was so just all those years of just it, it was the ecstasy of being a brewer fan forever, and then knowing this team.
- 7:08SPEAKER_03: I can't even imagine what it felt like for you and and the and all the true fans that grew up with them.
- 7:15SPEAKER_03: And also having them on my team this year and having the ticket and watching so many brewers games, seeing Ms.
- 7:21SPEAKER_03: uh Mizorowski pitch, seeing, you know, uh it's just it's just been so I know this team inside and out.
- 7:29SPEAKER_03: I know I know McGill, I know, you know, or you know, you know Ortiz, you know Ramirez.
- 7:37SPEAKER_03: I mean, it's just like I know these players because I've just been watching them all year.
- 7:41SPEAKER_03: You don't always on point pitching tonight, do you know?
- 7:45SPEAKER_03: No, I don't.
- 7:46SPEAKER_03: I did not catch that because I was carving pumpkins and going crazy all day long trying to get ready for this podcast.
- 7:53SPEAKER_01: But anyways, Greg, if if you're watching, you get a chance.
- 7:57SPEAKER_01: Who's pitching uh for uh the Brewers tonight starting?
- 8:02SPEAKER_03: I thought it would be everybody thought it was gonna be Woodson because he was he was coming back and they were just gonna let him be the one inning starter and then go into the long reliever.
- 8:16SPEAKER_03: But he pitched last night, so I have no idea who who started it out.
- 8:20SPEAKER_03: But let's uh welcome to the Scotchy Bourbon Boys.
- 8:23SPEAKER_03: Welcome to our Halloween podcast.

- 9:10SPEAKER_03: I'm in my spooky den tonight.
- 9:14SPEAKER_03: This is what it looks like when the lights are out.
- 9:18SPEAKER_03: I try to get the lights out to show the blood oath pumpkin, but that's about as far as I go.
- 9:28SPEAKER_03: Well, it's just I have the the you know the ring light.
- 9:32SPEAKER_03: You can see it in my glasses.
- 9:34SPEAKER_03: I've got that going.
- 9:36SPEAKER_03: And so, you know, and it's just like this, like like we were saying before, I love this podcast.
- 9:47SPEAKER_03: There's all these different bourbons, and the one that I'll just start off with right away, get this out of the way, Nash.
- 9:55SPEAKER_03: We can both talk about it.
- 9:56SPEAKER_03: I remember learning about this in Fred Noah's book.
- 10:00SPEAKER_03: When I was driving back and forth to Kentucky a couple times, early on, when I was what this, I I had uh Fred Noah's audiobook, which is a really good book.
- 10:12SPEAKER_03: It's his life and it goes into everything.
- 10:14SPEAKER_03: It's you know, and the and the person who wrote and the guy who reads it, it's kind of spectacular.
- 10:20SPEAKER_03: It goes into a lot of Jim Beam history.
- 10:23SPEAKER_03: But, you know, he came up.
- 10:26SPEAKER_03: This Jim Beam's devil's cut is Fred Noah's thing because one of the guys, when he first was starting, you know, working, told him to take it home, take a barrel home, and then see what's in there.
- 10:39SPEAKER_03: He said, put a little bit of water, roll it around, let it sit for a week and see what happens.
- 10:44SPEAKER_03: And he basically, that's how he found out how to do it.
- 10:49SPEAKER_03: And then they came up with an extraction system and kind of thing.
- 10:52SPEAKER_03: But I love the devil's cut.
- 10:54SPEAKER_03: You know, it's the opposite of the angel share, right?
- 10:57SPEAKER_03: That's what what we're going at here.
- 11:05SPEAKER_03: No, Nash, you just no, no, no, no answering questions whatsoever.
- 11:12SPEAKER_03: Yeah, okay.
- 11:14SPEAKER_03: I always just got a line on on who's pitching.
- 11:18SPEAKER_03: Yeah, May is pitching, and and they call and and none and and Greg called them carrot top.
- 11:26SPEAKER_03: You could call Roxy calls them a ginger.
- 11:30SPEAKER_03: She's just like there are a lot of gingers pitching, and there are.
- 11:35SPEAKER_03: There was a lot of gingers pitching in this series.
- 11:37SPEAKER_03: There's no doubt about it.
- 11:39SPEAKER_03: It was definitely a ginger pitching series so far.
- 11:43SPEAKER_03: All right, so I'm gonna have the Devil's Cut.
- 11:45SPEAKER_03: I'll pull this over and grab my Scotchy Bourbon boys, and I finished I finished my Noble Oak Caramel, salted caramel.
- 11:59SPEAKER_03: I picked that up at the Ohio Craft Distillery Festival.
- 12:03SPEAKER_03: This is by far, I've had the salted caramel crown.
- 12:06SPEAKER_03: This is so much better, and I mixed it tonight with the that's my opening drink for the spiced apple Evan Williams.
- 13:07SPEAKER_03: And that made, and then I've got a little apple wedge in there that I'm gonna eat at the end.
- 13:12SPEAKER_03: So that's the kind of cool thing that I did.
- 13:16SPEAKER_03: And Devil's Cut.
- 13:18SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna do what?
- 13:20SPEAKER_01: In honor of tonight's fourth game of the World Series, I'm gonna open up and have a well it's been opened, but have a pour of Blood Oath Pack 4.
- 13:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah, remember that podcast when we did it and you send up all the packs to me.
- 13:36SPEAKER_03: Yep, finished and toasted oak barrels.
- 13:39SPEAKER_03: We'll get into what that is, but I've got the devil's cut going in, and it is a little uh okay.
- 13:51SPEAKER_01: Uh-oh.
- 13:53SPEAKER_01: My buddy Bob's in here cussing.
- 13:56SPEAKER_01: And he's a brewers fan.
- 13:59SPEAKER_01: That's unusual for Bob to be cussing.
- 14:02SPEAKER_01: That's okay.
- 14:06SPEAKER_03: I will say I know why he's cussing.
- 14:08SPEAKER_03: Do you want to know why?
- 14:09SPEAKER_03: What?
- 14:09SPEAKER_03: Who hit a Homer?
- 14:12SPEAKER_03: Tampa Bay.
- 14:13SPEAKER_03: Yeah, of course Tampa Bay.
- 14:15SPEAKER_03: What?
- 14:16SPEAKER_03: Do you think being down a run or two is gonna matter?
- 14:20SPEAKER_03: I don't know, huh?
- 14:21SPEAKER_03: No, huh?
- 14:22SPEAKER_01: They don't care.
- 14:23SPEAKER_01: No, I would just I was just keeping you up to date.
- 14:26SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 14:27SPEAKER_01: Anyway, so what's it taste like?
- 14:36SPEAKER_03: This one, I wanna say there's a lot of char.
- 14:43SPEAKER_03: Picks up more of the char.
- 14:45SPEAKER_03: And this is this seriously is probably my second bottle, so this would have been from 2020.
- 14:52SPEAKER_03: 2029, that first one would have been 2021.
- 14:56SPEAKER_03: So this about probably 2023.
- 14:59SPEAKER_01: That's when I finished off with my second bottle of it.
- 15:02SPEAKER_01: Because yeah, that first year I know I gotten a bottle.
- 15:06SPEAKER_01: The very first year I got into it in 2019.
- 15:09SPEAKER_01: Then I think we finished it off that second Halloween.
- 15:13SPEAKER_03: It's hard for me to finish off any bottle.
- 15:15SPEAKER_03: The only way I finish off a bottle is to send it out to somebody else.
- 15:20SPEAKER_03: It's no finishing off bottles.
- 15:22SPEAKER_03: I mean, it's just like even this.
- 15:24SPEAKER_03: This isn't bad.
- 15:25SPEAKER_03: This I would say is when I think about that, I would say this is a nice safe deal.
- 15:33SPEAKER_03: So at this point, this early on, this was nice.
- 15:36SPEAKER_03: Sit around the the campfire, sit around the you know, the fire pit, pour, watch, what, you know, listen to or watch, listen to music, whatever.
- 15:47SPEAKER_03: But now I've got so many pores in that are to choose.
- 15:54SPEAKER_03: This is this does this makes it out on Halloween, you know what I mean?
- 15:57SPEAKER_03: So here we go.
- 16:07SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 16:09SPEAKER_03: So let's get into why everybody's here.
- 16:18SPEAKER_03: You started up, buddy.
- 16:20SPEAKER_03: You started, you, this one right here.
- 16:23SPEAKER_03: We both picked it up at the festival, correct?
- 16:27SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 16:28SPEAKER_01: We sure did.
- 16:29SPEAKER_03: This is Blood Oath Pack 12.
- 16:31SPEAKER_01: Mine is signed put out by Lux Row, John Remke.
- 16:36SPEAKER_01: Rempe.
- 16:38SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 16:38SPEAKER_01: That's uh that's uh he came up.
- 16:43SPEAKER_01: I'm pretty sure he came up with this uh batch and idea to do these blood oath packs, and each year he does it different.
- 16:51SPEAKER_01: This year just happens to be Kentucky strength bourbon whiskey finished in Montepucciano and Sangiovis cask.
- 17:06SPEAKER_02: I want you to watch.
- 17:14SPEAKER_01: Montepuciano?
- 17:16SPEAKER_01: That's America Pucciano.
- 17:18SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's better.
- 17:19SPEAKER_03: Then what about the other one?
- 17:21SPEAKER_01: Montepuciano.
- 17:23SPEAKER_01: Seng's Singia bees, Singia bees.
- 17:31SPEAKER_01: All right, that's awesome.
- 17:37SPEAKER_03: I love that you took that to the next level.
- 17:40SPEAKER_03: All right, so the thing about that, the the blood oath, and and honestly, what's really cool.
- 17:46SPEAKER_03: Oh no, all the skeletons went flying.
- 17:49SPEAKER_03: All right, skeletons.
- 17:51SPEAKER_03: There we go.
- 17:51SPEAKER_03: Get back up there.
- 17:53SPEAKER_01: All right, so talk about oaky tasting that double oak pack four.
- 18:01SPEAKER_01: Oh, it's oaky and leathery.
- 18:05SPEAKER_03: I don't know what that means, but sure.
- 18:07SPEAKER_03: I guess.
- 18:09SPEAKER_03: Oh are you doing the special glass?
- 18:12SPEAKER_03: Let me see if I can pull out Roxy's special glass.
- 18:15SPEAKER_03: Oh, of course.
- 18:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah, she's at a berth and she'll never know.
- 18:18SPEAKER_03: I'll just wash it.
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: Get out, everybody.
- 18:25SPEAKER_01: She'll never know.
- 18:27SPEAKER_03: Oh, come on.
- 18:29SPEAKER_03: It's not in here.
- 18:31SPEAKER_03: It should be.
- 18:32SPEAKER_03: She probably is.
- 18:33SPEAKER_03: Oh, it is, it is, it is.
- 18:34SPEAKER_03: Wait, it's right here.
- 18:36SPEAKER_03: Yeah, baby.
- 18:39SPEAKER_03: Home run.
- 18:40SPEAKER_03: Home run for the brewer's blood oath.
- 18:45SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 18:46SPEAKER_03: Woo! Found the blood oath.
- 18:49SPEAKER_03: Yeah, baby.
- 18:50SPEAKER_03: All right, so that'll go for the crack skull.
- 18:53SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 18:54SPEAKER_03: Hey, she'll never know.
- 18:58SPEAKER_03: Swinging, swinging a miss.
- 19:04SPEAKER_03: Oh, look at that, baby.
- 19:06SPEAKER_03: I feel all right.
- 19:08SPEAKER_03: So this is the cool thing about what John Rempe does here is that he is the master distiller of uh Lux Row.
- 19:17SPEAKER_03: Lux Co., LuxRow, Lux Company.
- 19:20SPEAKER_03: He does it.
- 19:21SPEAKER_03: He does a lot of stuff.
- 19:27SPEAKER_03: She'll never know.
- 19:29SPEAKER_03: She doesn't watch locker.
- 19:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 19:33SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 19:33SPEAKER_03: Yes, I do know we're being recorded.
- 19:36SPEAKER_03: So this Blood Oath Pac 12 is the current packed.
- 19:40SPEAKER_03: And uh I think we lost, we lost Super Nash.
- 19:44SPEAKER_03: She's gone off, but I do have the Blood Oath glass, which is Roxy's glass for Blood Oath.
- 19:53SPEAKER_03: She does like Blood Oath.
- 19:55SPEAKER_03: My favorite thing this year was when she first tasted it.
- 19:59SPEAKER_03: She said it's okay.
- 20:00SPEAKER_03: And you don't gotta get it.
- 20:02SPEAKER_03: And then she tasted it again, and she's like, Oh, we better get this.
- 20:06SPEAKER_03: So that's what happened with this.
- 20:08SPEAKER_03: But with Blood Oath, I don't know where he went.
- 20:11SPEAKER_03: John Rampy does.
- 20:18SPEAKER_02: Oh God.
- 20:20SPEAKER_02: No, shut up.
- 20:21SPEAKER_02: You do not have a whistle.
- 20:22SPEAKER_02: Red flag.
- 20:24SPEAKER_02: Red flag.
- 20:25SPEAKER_02: Blow the whistle.
- 20:26SPEAKER_02: Blow it.
- 20:26SPEAKER_02: Blow it.
- 20:27SPEAKER_02: I want to hear the whistle.
- 20:29SPEAKER_02: Come on.
- 20:33SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 20:35SPEAKER_01: That's right.
- 20:41SPEAKER_03: So blood oath is John Rempe who buys other distilleries whiskey barrels.
- 20:53SPEAKER_03: And oh, come on.
- 20:56SPEAKER_03: That's crazy.
- 20:57SPEAKER_03: Let's just delay again.
- 21:02SPEAKER_03: On the offense.
- 21:04SPEAKER_03: He buys other distilleries whiskey barrels and then does blends with.
- 21:11SPEAKER_03: There's no rules to this, this, this one.
- 21:14SPEAKER_03: Basically, he finds whiskey, blends it together, and makes fantastic, unique whiskeys.
- 21:22SPEAKER_03: Sometimes they're bourbon, sometimes they're not.
- 21:26SPEAKER_03: He finishes them like and he he could do so many different things.
- 21:30SPEAKER_03: And you know what?
- 21:31SPEAKER_03: Just so you know, you suck right now.
- 21:34SPEAKER_03: It's just so bad that you're a freaking referee.
- 21:39SPEAKER_03: I just that's just crazy.
- 21:42SPEAKER_03: You're nuts.
- 21:43SPEAKER_03: I want to kill you.
- 21:45SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 21:47SPEAKER_03: After all the time of what happened, why don't you call?
- 21:51SPEAKER_03: Why don't you?
- 21:52SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna beat the shit out of this pumpkin, and then you could throw a penalty on me for roughing the pumpkin.
- 21:58SPEAKER_03: Red flag, red flag.
- 22:00SPEAKER_03: It's like, oh wait, here.
- 22:02SPEAKER_03: Look, look, look, watch, watch.
- 22:06SPEAKER_01: Oh, did I rough challenge flags?
- 22:11SPEAKER_03: Did I rough the flag?
- 22:13SPEAKER_03: Oh look, did I rough the pumpkin?
- 22:16SPEAKER_03: Oh no, did I?
- 22:19SPEAKER_03: Oh my god, now you're getting me, you're getting me wound up.
- 22:22SPEAKER_03: I didn't see you there.
- 22:25SPEAKER_03: Randy Prassey and me are going to the Bills game.
- 22:28SPEAKER_01: He was watching the bourbon break.
- 22:29SPEAKER_01: Sorry about that.
- 22:34SPEAKER_03: No, this is freaking awesome.
- 22:37SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna I all right.
- 22:41SPEAKER_03: So are we gonna are we gonna barrel?
- 22:49SPEAKER_02: I got called called me for roughing the pumpkin.
- 22:52SPEAKER_03: All right, all right, all right, all right.
- 22:56SPEAKER_01: So we got so we are going to break down special requests from my from my uh better half.
- 23:06SPEAKER_03: We are going we are what after the game?
- 23:12SPEAKER_03: After after after you're done working to the game after you're done working, pissing me off.
- 23:20SPEAKER_03: All right, so I'm out on the field.
- 23:28SPEAKER_03: Go do what you gotta do.
- 23:32SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 23:36SPEAKER_01: I can't do nothing with her.
- 23:42SPEAKER_01: She's she's on a team.
- 23:44SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 23:45SPEAKER_03: So we are going to do the barrel bottle breakdown of Blood Of Pac-12.
- 23:53SPEAKER_03: Super Nash is going to keep score, keep us in line, and make sure we don't commit any fouls.
- 24:01SPEAKER_03: And I got the playbook and the rule book.
- 24:04SPEAKER_03: So tell us the rules.
- 24:06SPEAKER_01: Well, tell us the rules.
- 24:08SPEAKER_01: Rules are you have four innings.
- 24:14SPEAKER_01: Each inning consists of the nose, the body, the taste, and the finish.
- 24:19SPEAKER_01: In the first inning on the nose, you can give it up to four barrel knocks.
- 24:25SPEAKER_01: And in the second inning, you come to the body, you can give it up to four barrel knocks.
- 24:30SPEAKER_01: The third inning is the taste, where you can give it up to five barrel knocks.
- 24:36SPEAKER_01: And the fourth inning, fourth and final inning is the finish, which you can give it up to five barrel knocks.
- 24:43SPEAKER_01: But if one of those innings is exceptional, quarter category, you can actually give it a butt up them.
- 24:51SPEAKER_01: Okay, motherfucker.
- 24:55SPEAKER_03: You're wearing a football referee jersey and you'd have four quarters.
- 25:01SPEAKER_03: Not inning.
- 25:03SPEAKER_03: It was perfect.
- 25:05SPEAKER_03: I'm just going.
- 25:07SPEAKER_03: That was the last segment.
- 25:09SPEAKER_03: And you're wearing a referee.
- 25:10SPEAKER_03: And I'm like, why isn't he going with quarters?
- 25:13SPEAKER_03: There's four.
- 25:14SPEAKER_03: That's what I meant.
- 25:16SPEAKER_03: And if we go into and if it goes into overtime, if it goes in, you can give it another.
- 25:22SPEAKER_02: A butt up in overtime.
- 25:30SPEAKER_01: If the quarter is exceptional, and it takes you into overtime, you can give it a butt up.
- 25:39SPEAKER_03: It better not go into overtime.
- 25:43SPEAKER_03: Not because of what review.
- 25:57SPEAKER_02: He's doing the all see.
- 25:59SPEAKER_02: He's looking into the pumpkin.
- 26:02SPEAKER_02: A pumpkin season.
- 26:05SPEAKER_02: Oh my god.
- 26:06SPEAKER_02: You don't think I can see into the pumpkin?
- 26:08SPEAKER_01: Oh no.
- 26:09SPEAKER_01: Look at that one out.
- 26:12SPEAKER_01: I can see into the pumpkin.
- 26:21SPEAKER_03: Smells.
- 26:22SPEAKER_03: I got a scenting candle in there, man.
- 26:24SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 26:25SPEAKER_01: Further review, the call stands on the field.
- 26:30SPEAKER_01: You have four innings.
- 26:32SPEAKER_01: No, it's overturned.
- 26:34SPEAKER_01: Four quarters.
- 26:36SPEAKER_01: The call was overturned on the field.
- 26:38SPEAKER_01: You have four quarters and not innings.
- 26:46SPEAKER_03: So the nose.
- 26:48SPEAKER_03: Let's start off with nosing this thing.
- 26:50SPEAKER_03: Do you even have any in your glass yet?
- 26:53SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 26:55SPEAKER_01: Probably a bigger pour than I need.
- 26:59SPEAKER_01: Of course, I'm going, I'm going to an umpire party after this.
- 27:02SPEAKER_03: Personal foul.
- 27:06SPEAKER_03: Draining the glass.
- 27:11SPEAKER_01: We got a flag on the play.
- 27:17SPEAKER_03: So do you have any information on this?
- 27:22SPEAKER_03: Uh yeah.
- 27:23SPEAKER_03: I could pull some up.
- 27:24SPEAKER_03: I actually have breaking bourbon.
- 27:27SPEAKER_03: How about that?
- 27:28SPEAKER_03: Breaking bourbon.
- 27:29SPEAKER_03: It's been a while since we used Breaking Bourbon.
- 27:32SPEAKER_03: I love those guys.
- 27:33SPEAKER_01: Blood Oath Pac 12.
- 27:36SPEAKER_01: It is a straight bourbon finishing.
- 27:39SPEAKER_01: We covered it.
- 27:40SPEAKER_01: I'm not gonna, I'm not gonna sell it.
- 27:42SPEAKER_03: That's fine.
- 27:44SPEAKER_03: You don't have to make another, you don't have to do another foul.
- 27:48SPEAKER_01: And it's MGP is the company sourced from an undisclosed Kentucky distillery or distilleries.
- 27:58SPEAKER_01: Release date was March 2026.
- 28:00SPEAKER_01: The proof is 98.6 proof, y'all.
- 28:04SPEAKER_01: Company press release states a blend of seven, nine, and 12-year-old bourbons and MSRP about 130.
- 28:15SPEAKER_03: We picked this up at the festival.
- 28:18SPEAKER_03: John signed it for me.
- 28:20SPEAKER_03: Got to see him.
- 28:21SPEAKER_03: We've not had John on the podcast.
- 28:23SPEAKER_03: I'll throw this out to CT.
- 28:25SPEAKER_03: Let's get John on the podcast because John should be on the podcast.
- 28:29SPEAKER_03: Same thing with uh Connor O'Driscoll.
- 28:32SPEAKER_03: I met him, hung out with him, drank with him.
- 28:36SPEAKER_03: Have not had him on the podcast either.
- 28:38SPEAKER_03: We need to get them on.
- 28:42SPEAKER_01: Uh LexRow Distillers introduced the Blood Oath brand in 2015 as an annual limited edition bourbon series created by then Master Distiller John Rinke.
- 28:53SPEAKER_01: Rather than following a consistent recipe, each release called a pack features a unique blend of bourbons, often incorporating unique finishing barrels.
- 29:03SPEAKER_01: The series was built around the concept that once a pack is released, it is never recreated.
- 29:09SPEAKER_01: Following MTP ingredients acquisition of Lexico in 2021, Blood Oath has continued under Ripkey's stewardship and remains one of the company's premium annual releases.
- 29:21SPEAKER_01: And there were there are 12 releases in.
- 29:31SPEAKER_01: And four through nine and then 11 and 12.
- 29:39SPEAKER_01: How many you've got?
- 29:42SPEAKER_03: I've got them up there.
- 29:44SPEAKER_03: I've got six of the twelve.
- 29:48SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 29:49SPEAKER_01: You probably got the pack six through twelve.
- 29:56SPEAKER_03: Yep, they're all up there.
- 29:58SPEAKER_03: They're behind there.
- 29:59SPEAKER_03: They're good.
- 30:01SPEAKER_03: The thing I'll say about John's releases is he, this is more of what if you Blood Oath is a definite kind of sewer blend between bourbon and scotch kind of drinking palettes.
- 30:21SPEAKER_03: If you a Scotch drinker would would would I always felt like if I was to tell a Scotch drinker what to what what to get in the Kentucky distillery, you know, release kind of thing, these aren't always bourbons, but he his the palette is very sophisticated on these.
- 30:49SPEAKER_01: Dark fruit, like black cherry.
- 30:52SPEAKER_01: I get a ton.
- 30:54SPEAKER_03: And I mean a ton.
- 30:57SPEAKER_03: I don't care about it.
- 30:58SPEAKER_03: No, I'm getting leather and tobacco.
- 31:04SPEAKER_03: And lemon.
- 31:05SPEAKER_03: I get like a citrus lemon.
- 31:08SPEAKER_03: Lemon?
- 31:09SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 31:11SPEAKER_01: Get that little bit of leather.
- 31:15SPEAKER_01: It was almost to me almost like black.
- 31:19SPEAKER_01: When you open up a packet of black cherry Kool-Aid.
- 31:23SPEAKER_03: Okay, I'll give you that.
- 31:25SPEAKER_03: I thought you were gonna say black shoe polish.
- 31:29SPEAKER_03: No word.
- 31:31SPEAKER_03: I do like shoe polish.
- 31:39SPEAKER_03: Blackberry.
- 31:41SPEAKER_03: I'll give you that.
- 31:49SPEAKER_03: I don't get caramel.
- 31:52SPEAKER_03: Maybe I'm s I'm nosing in the wrong cup.
- 32:01SPEAKER_01: Like a warm melted caramel.
- 32:08SPEAKER_03: No, I get the it's it it reminds me a lot of K-Vail.
- 32:15SPEAKER_03: Kavill?
- 32:16SPEAKER_03: Rabbit.
- 32:20SPEAKER_03: Smell it's so much.
- 32:23SPEAKER_03: This is not a dessert whiskey at all.
- 32:29SPEAKER_03: This is I think this would go really good with a Rocky Patel.
- 32:36SPEAKER_03: Yellowstone.
- 32:41SPEAKER_03: This is this definitely has it's it's not the cigar blend flavors with all those, you know, cognac finishes and everything, but it definitely pulls in some really, really, really good flavors.
- 32:56SPEAKER_01: Dark fruit.
- 32:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's not, it doesn't, it's it doesn't taste as sweet as it smells.
- 33:05SPEAKER_03: But that's blood oath.
- 33:07SPEAKER_03: That's why, that's why Roxy loves this so much.
- 33:10SPEAKER_03: I love it too.
- 33:11SPEAKER_03: This is not, this is like I said, it's not a big caramel, it's not a big butterscotch.
- 33:16SPEAKER_03: You're not talking about chocolates and stuff.
- 33:19SPEAKER_03: You're talking about a complex whiskey sipping experience.
- 33:32SPEAKER_01: Wow, this got a great mouthfeel to it and body.
- 33:40SPEAKER_03: This to me, honestly, is what I thought good whiskey should be before I got into whiskey.
- 33:53SPEAKER_03: This is what I thought whiskey tasted like.
- 34:08SPEAKER_03: And this, this is not that.
- 34:10SPEAKER_03: This is this is whiskey.
- 34:13SPEAKER_03: This is the barrel influence, the the nice soft, you know, fruit from the yeast.
- 34:24SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I don't know.
- 34:25SPEAKER_03: It's Kentucky.
- 34:27SPEAKER_03: And it's no, it's Kentucky bourbon, or it said it was Kentucky whiskey.
- 34:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 34:32SPEAKER_01: Undisclosed Kentucky distillery or distilleries.
- 34:36SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 34:36SPEAKER_01: It so it's it's all right.
- 34:48SPEAKER_01: What do you uh give it on the nose?
- 34:53SPEAKER_01: I give it a three out of four.
- 35:00SPEAKER_03: It is starting to pick up some of those caramel flavors.
- 35:08SPEAKER_01: You said you Yeah, I give it a three, too.
- 35:10SPEAKER_01: It's it's it's got a good nose going on, but it's not it's not a four.
- 35:16SPEAKER_03: Three four, three knocks each on the barrel.
- 35:24SPEAKER_01: This body, I like, I like it.
- 35:26SPEAKER_01: Because it starts off like thin on the first sip, but then it just like coats your whole mouth.
- 35:33SPEAKER_01: Starts pulling pulling some oaky.
- 35:35SPEAKER_01: It feels really thick and chewy.
- 35:37SPEAKER_03: Oaky, woody, yeah, leathery, tobacco.
- 35:43SPEAKER_03: With a little, it's not bitter though.
- 35:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 35:46SPEAKER_01: It's got that little bit of sweetness to to cut you know to complement those that for 98 proof.
- 35:53SPEAKER_03: This this basically is a a flavor explosion.
- 35:58SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 35:59SPEAKER_03: It does it all.
- 36:01SPEAKER_01: I want to give this body.
- 36:05SPEAKER_01: I almost want to give it a four.
- 36:07SPEAKER_01: I think it's like about a three and a half, but I'm gonna give it a lower and give it a three.
- 36:17SPEAKER_01: Because I thought I think it could be just a little bit thicker in viscosity and just have a little bit more oomph to the mouthphil.
- 36:33SPEAKER_03: You're gonna give the mouthphill a three?
- 36:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 36:36SPEAKER_01: No, no, no, I'm gonna give the body a three.
- 36:41SPEAKER_01: Mouthfill.
- 36:46SPEAKER_01: I like this glass.
- 36:48SPEAKER_01: It's just a unique shape.
- 36:50SPEAKER_01: It's fun to hold and sip whiskey.
- 36:54SPEAKER_01: You can still roll it in the glass.
- 37:00SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it does a weird thing.
- 37:02SPEAKER_03: It won't go past it.
- 37:04SPEAKER_03: There's an area that it just kind of rocks at, and then if it goes, it just goes right back on its way.
- 37:11SPEAKER_03: All right, so it's my turn for taste.
- 37:16SPEAKER_03: What'd you give the body?
- 37:23SPEAKER_03: Three.
- 37:25SPEAKER_03: Now, after it's so weird how this is evolving in my mouth.
- 37:31SPEAKER_03: There was no chocolate whatsoever on the first three sips.
- 37:37SPEAKER_03: This is a this and this is something I will say if you're drinking a whiskey, you gotta like get into it and you have to have a decent pour to really judge it.
- 37:49SPEAKER_03: I mean, sometimes, you know, as I keep going, I'm starting to pick up some chocolates off of this.
- 37:55SPEAKER_03: Like a dark chocolate has been introduced as far as taste.
- 38:06SPEAKER_03: Which weren't there initially.
- 38:08SPEAKER_03: It was mostly leather and oak.
- 38:12SPEAKER_03: And now there's that chocolate.
- 38:14SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna go that chocolate is is is coming across, sticking to the the top of my tongue and the roof of my mouth, where I'm getting in the tip of my tongue and the sides.
- 38:28SPEAKER_03: I'm still getting uh I was gonna do three out of five on taste initially, but I'm going four out of five.
- 38:34SPEAKER_03: And okay, we got a super chat here.
- 38:38SPEAKER_03: Kirk says Nash had some questionable calls for the Packers Lions game.
- 38:53SPEAKER_01: Glad to discuss that.
- 38:56SPEAKER_01: We had to revert to replay.
- 38:59SPEAKER_01: I'm all a human.
- 39:00SPEAKER_01: Sometimes I make mistakes, not often, only as a referee.
- 39:07SPEAKER_01: And final thing, if none of that works for you, I do not recall that.
- 39:20SPEAKER_03: All right, that's hilarious.
- 39:22SPEAKER_03: You do not recall that.
- 39:24SPEAKER_03: Now you're in front of Congress.
- 39:28SPEAKER_03: The referee went in front of Congress.
- 39:31SPEAKER_03: That is insane.
- 39:33SPEAKER_03: All right, so there we go.
- 39:40SPEAKER_03: Oh my god.
- 39:41SPEAKER_03: So I gave it a four out of five.
- 39:43SPEAKER_03: What are you giving it as far as taste?
- 39:46SPEAKER_01: You gave it a four out of five.
- 39:48SPEAKER_01: I was already thinking I was gonna give it a three.
- 39:52SPEAKER_01: Because the chocolate.
- 39:55SPEAKER_01: Basically, I'm just getting just a couple, a couple of little flavors, like the black cherry, and still getting just a little bit, a little bit of chamar caramel, or maybe burnt caramel.
- 40:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, probably burnt caramel, and then the oaky leathery takes over on the taste, and it just everything else just just dissipates.
- 40:20SPEAKER_01: They're not left with really any sweetness or other flavor, so I'm giving it a three.
- 40:26SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 40:28SPEAKER_03: I am going, I gave it a four, so you give it gave it a three.
- 40:34SPEAKER_03: So what the chocolate did it for me.
- 40:42SPEAKER_03: But my question is, what are you gonna give this finish?
- 40:51SPEAKER_03: Holding, huh?
- 40:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I was holding holding holding uh bourbon in my mouth.
- 41:03SPEAKER_03: You can't call penalties on yourself.
- 41:06SPEAKER_03: You gotta be keep calling them on me.
- 41:10SPEAKER_03: Well, how does it I never seen that before a referee?
- 41:14SPEAKER_03: He's like, Oh, I was holding that button.
- 41:17SPEAKER_01: Oh, wrong flag.
- 41:21SPEAKER_01: Stop.
- 41:21SPEAKER_01: Hey, you're gonna be ejected from the game as we're going against the referee.
- 41:33SPEAKER_03: No, no, that's fine.
- 41:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, okay, that's what I thought.
- 41:39SPEAKER_01: So on the finish, I'm telling you, I think this is where it actually exceeds because the finish feels good.
- 41:49SPEAKER_01: Nice little Kentucky hug.
- 41:51SPEAKER_01: It's warm.
- 41:54SPEAKER_01: The the the leather and the oak doesn't finish dry.
- 41:59SPEAKER_01: Got I got that sweet little earth caramel sweetness along with it.
- 42:06SPEAKER_01: So I'm gonna give it a four.
- 42:08SPEAKER_01: You give it a four.
- 42:10SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 42:12SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 42:14SPEAKER_03: So I will not concur.
- 42:19SPEAKER_03: I think this is pulling off, this is the strength of this bur of this whiskey.
- 42:25SPEAKER_03: There's a lot of stuff that's not, you know, whatever.
- 42:29SPEAKER_03: But when it comes to this finish, it goes forever.
- 42:36SPEAKER_03: It's it doesn't your taste, it the taste of what was there just keeps going and going and going and going.
- 42:46SPEAKER_03: I can't, I'm still tasting it.
- 42:49SPEAKER_03: You know, it just goes and goes and goes.
- 42:52SPEAKER_03: And you have it at a four, but I I was that right.
- 43:00SPEAKER_01: Hey, hey, delay a game.
- 43:03SPEAKER_01: Flag on the plate.
- 43:04SPEAKER_01: Darn it.
- 43:04SPEAKER_01: Delay again, delay a game.
- 43:08SPEAKER_03: So Frelick just hit a homer, so that's a good one.
- 43:12SPEAKER_03: Let me go to the let me go to the sidelines there.
- 43:14SPEAKER_01: I guess it's one to one.
- 43:16SPEAKER_01: It's one to one.
- 43:18SPEAKER_01: We have it from the sidelines over here.
- 43:20SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 43:21SPEAKER_01: Was Bob going crazy?
- 43:23SPEAKER_01: Let me go back to review.
- 43:24SPEAKER_01: Hey, was Bob going crazy?
- 43:27SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 43:27SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 43:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 43:29SPEAKER_01: He he he was horizontal at the cuts, but he almost came to vertical.
- 43:37SPEAKER_03: John just gave me a personal foul, loss of 15 yards, and Glenn Karen.
- 43:47SPEAKER_01: I got you for delay a game.
- 43:49SPEAKER_01: My daughter texts me, Frelick.
- 43:51SPEAKER_03: Yeah, all right, one to one.
- 43:53SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 43:54SPEAKER_03: So we're in the fourth, we are in the fourth inning, and we're almost at the 45 minutes.
- 44:00SPEAKER_03: So I am going to give the I will give the finish a five.
- 44:05SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh, he steps up.
- 44:07SPEAKER_01: He steps up and he throws a hell Mary with a five.
- 44:13SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that that that's the strong point of this, of this.
- 44:17SPEAKER_03: You know, it's funny when you deal with flavors similar to this, you know what I'm saying?
- 44:25SPEAKER_03: Some people like leather and they like that tobacco flavor, and they like that deep fruit flavor that you talk about, and with the like a dark chocolate.
- 44:35SPEAKER_01: That's something it's not like exactly what this is like.
- 44:38SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 44:39SPEAKER_03: And so it's it's it's it delivers this.
- 44:44SPEAKER_03: I've always loved this part about Blood Oath because Blood Oath doesn't play the game that 98% of all Kentucky bourbon allocated whiskey and bourbon and finished whiskies play.
- 45:03SPEAKER_03: They're always on the sweet side.
- 45:05SPEAKER_03: Blood Oath does, he's not shooting for that sweet caramel.
- 45:11SPEAKER_01: No, he needs to use cheese.
- 45:13SPEAKER_01: He needs to give you some subtle flavors with a good finished bourbon.
- 45:19SPEAKER_03: And he's always trying.
- 45:28SPEAKER_03: There we go.
- 45:30SPEAKER_03: So one to one.
- 45:32SPEAKER_03: She said Frelick hit a single and scored on a double by Pratt.
- 45:38SPEAKER_03: Okay, so we it's one to one, but they're still batting.
- 45:42SPEAKER_03: I'm I'm almost in the Alright, so there we go.
- 45:45SPEAKER_03: So, what was the score?
- 45:48SPEAKER_03: We gotta score it.
- 45:49SPEAKER_03: Total it.
- 45:50SPEAKER_03: Let me know if I did a personal foul and I lost some points.
- 45:55SPEAKER_01: Well, we went to review.
- 45:57SPEAKER_01: After review, the sideline judge was disqualified from the game.
- 46:04SPEAKER_01: Our sideline judge being John Rickett.
- 46:07SPEAKER_01: I had to disqualify him from the game.
- 46:11SPEAKER_01: Since his ticket was revoked upon entry.
- 46:15SPEAKER_01: So you gave it a 15, I gave it a 13, which made a total of 14 between the two of us, which is a solid score out of 18.
- 46:26SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 46:27SPEAKER_03: Pratt moves on to third on a wild pitch.
- 46:30SPEAKER_03: Tonight might be the night, and I'm already primed because the last three games, I wasn't drinking.
- 46:37SPEAKER_03: But if they win the World Series, I'm drinking that stag masthead that Matt Lies and got us.
- 46:46SPEAKER_03: So, anyways, last but not least, what was the totals?
- 46:49SPEAKER_03: Are you gonna total this?
- 46:50SPEAKER_03: This what's the totals?
- 46:52SPEAKER_03: What do we give this?
- 46:53SPEAKER_01: I gave you the total.
- 46:54SPEAKER_01: What was it?
- 46:56SPEAKER_01: It was you gave it a 15, I gave it a 13, total a 14.
- 47:00SPEAKER_03: All right, 14 out of 18 for Blood Oath Pack 12.
- 47:05SPEAKER_03: You can't go wrong, folks.
- 47:07SPEAKER_03: I mean, if you're talking about 14 out of 18, I mean, it is one of the better packs.
- 47:13SPEAKER_03: There's there's a few other better ones, but this one is right up there.
- 47:16SPEAKER_03: I think it's top out of the 12, it's top three for me.
- 47:21SPEAKER_01: And so, you know all the ones that I've got.
- 47:27SPEAKER_01: Now tasted all of them.
- 47:30SPEAKER_01: Number five has always been my go-to and my favorite out of all the packs.
- 47:35SPEAKER_01: And it's made up of all Kentucky bourbons.
- 47:38SPEAKER_03: And and because of Super Nash's hunting prowless, definitely.
- 47:44SPEAKER_03: So I've got this last one I'm gonna taste before we get the hell out of it.
- 47:49SPEAKER_03: No, save the stag till we can the beer.
- 47:54SPEAKER_03: Are we talking?
- 47:55SPEAKER_03: We're talking beer, Mr.
- 47:56SPEAKER_03: Schneider.
- 47:59SPEAKER_01: I will wait.
- 48:02SPEAKER_01: A beer finished in stag barrels.
- 48:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I I will drink stag with you, but but if you're talking about the beer from Lisen, I'll drink a beer with you too.
- 48:14SPEAKER_03: So I'll just drink this uh barley beer.
- 48:18SPEAKER_03: All right, so I got this.
- 48:26SPEAKER_01: Our challenge.
- 48:27SPEAKER_03: All right, there we go.
- 48:28SPEAKER_03: So this is called Crack Skull.
- 48:31SPEAKER_03: It's Crack Skull Rye, it's the Crack Skull Podcast.
- 48:35SPEAKER_03: They did a pick at Hainer, and when I was at the Ohio Whiskey Festival, I got to taste this, and it was delicious.
- 48:44SPEAKER_03: So tonight, I mean, I bought the bottle.
- 48:48SPEAKER_03: This is the I think this is the first bottle of rye.
- 48:53SPEAKER_01: Drake said, you can drink the beer.
- 48:55SPEAKER_03: Besides Mick Dur.
- 48:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's what I thought.
- 48:59SPEAKER_03: That's what I thought.
- 49:05SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 49:07SPEAKER_01: You know, uh, Walker.
- 49:10SPEAKER_01: You know, number five, number five is really good.
- 49:16SPEAKER_01: It's a man's bourbon.
- 49:17SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna tell you that.
- 49:19SPEAKER_03: I will tell you that this rye is one of the few rye on the planet that Tiny has bought.
- 49:27SPEAKER_03: I've tasted a lot, but buying a rye takes a lot.
- 49:32SPEAKER_03: And I bought this rye after tasting it at the Ohio Craft Whiskey Festival.
- 49:39SPEAKER_03: Wait a minute, folks.
- 49:40SPEAKER_01: Hold on.
- 49:41SPEAKER_01: Flag on the plane.
- 49:44SPEAKER_01: We'd like to go to the camera for a review.
- 49:47SPEAKER_01: Tiny actually bought.
- 49:49SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh, we're gonna have to red flag that and yellow flag it.
- 49:53SPEAKER_01: And I'm throwing my hat in.
- 49:55SPEAKER_01: I cannot believe that you actually bought a rye that you liked.
- 50:02SPEAKER_01: You said you said bought a rye and a rye that I liked all in one sentence.
- 50:08SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 50:09SPEAKER_03: I like rye overall.
- 50:10SPEAKER_03: I've been given a lot of rye that I do like.
- 50:14SPEAKER_03: Even Mikter's.
- 50:16SPEAKER_01: I'm I don't think I've ever You have a new rye, Rye Lease on life, right?
- 50:21SPEAKER_03: I would say that we've gotten to the point where you gotta say that I do like rye.
- 50:28SPEAKER_03: I haven't found a rye that I haven't liked in a long time.
- 50:31SPEAKER_03: There's a couple, but this one here.
- 50:37SPEAKER_01: And I would like to thank all the stiller friends out there for helping to introduce Tiny to all the great rye pours and the rye mash bills that you put out.
- 50:50SPEAKER_01: Including Greg Schneider.
- 50:52SPEAKER_03: Alright, so we finished up with Tiny on on the Halloween podcast doing this cracked skull.
- 51:00SPEAKER_03: It's opened and it's in it's in my glass.
- 51:04SPEAKER_03: It's got so many different flavors.
- 51:07SPEAKER_03: None that I don't like.
- 51:10SPEAKER_03: It's so match going on.
- 51:17SPEAKER_04: You know?
- 51:20SPEAKER_03: No, I don't.
- 51:22SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 51:24SPEAKER_03: Hold on.
- 51:25SPEAKER_03: Let's see what we got going here.
- 51:29SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 51:32SPEAKER_03: Where is it?
- 51:33SPEAKER_03: Oh, there it is.
- 51:37SPEAKER_03: Barrel proof unfiltered, no apologies.
- 51:40SPEAKER_03: 124-proof small batch, hainer distilling import.
- 51:46SPEAKER_03: They distilled this okay.
- 51:48SPEAKER_03: Crack Skull rye whiskey was forged from the same spirit behind the cracked barrel, the crack skull podcast.
- 51:55SPEAKER_03: Raw conversation, no filters, hard truths, and uh the kind of laugh laughter that only comes after you take a few hits from life and kept standing.
- 52:09SPEAKER_03: This is rye the way it should be.
- 52:11SPEAKER_03: Unapologetic, bold on the nose, sharp on the palate, with a long, strong finish.
- 52:17SPEAKER_03: It doesn't hide behind sweet notes or smooth talk.
- 52:21SPEAKER_03: It shows up, speaks plainly, and leaves you wanting more.
- 52:27SPEAKER_03: So Portney, drink it honest, and raise a glass to the ones who've been through hell.
- 52:34SPEAKER_03: Come back louder and through hell.
- 52:39SPEAKER_03: Came back louder and aren't afraid to say exactly what's on their mind.
- 52:44SPEAKER_03: Crack skull, rye, barrel strength, unfiltered, no apologies.
- 52:49SPEAKER_03: So I will say that it's right there.
- 52:52SPEAKER_03: It's definitely says it's a rye, but at the same time, Nash, it's delicious.
- 52:58SPEAKER_03: It's got flavors, notes of spearmint, it's got notes of caramel, and it's got a rye spice, but nothing off pudding.
- 53:11SPEAKER_03: So there you go.
- 53:13SPEAKER_03: Like I said, uh that could be good.
- 53:15SPEAKER_03: I like rye spice that's sweet.
- 53:19SPEAKER_03: I just there's no what is it?
- 53:25SPEAKER_03: What's the flavor?
- 53:27SPEAKER_03: The vegetable or the other one?
- 53:32SPEAKER_03: The grass, the dill, and they cut the and and then what what is it?
- 53:38SPEAKER_03: Moldy soil.
- 53:40SPEAKER_03: No, I'm just um there's there's none of that.
- 53:44SPEAKER_03: But but what is it called?
- 53:46SPEAKER_03: Earthy.
- 53:47SPEAKER_03: No, earthy.
- 53:48SPEAKER_03: Earthy's the other definition for earthy is moldy soil.
- 53:53SPEAKER_03: So that's just that.
