Transcript
- 0:07Speaker 1: It's Me Podcast.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Hey, welcome to Meet Eater Trivia, the only game show
- 0:12Speaker 2: of conservation always wins. I am your guest host, Phil Taylor,
- 0:15Speaker 2: and today we are joined by Ryan Callahan, Spencer Newhart,
- 0:18Speaker 2: Brody Henderson, Seth Morris, and Riva Hansen. This is normally
- 0:21Speaker 2: a ten round quiz show with questions from meat eaters
- 0:23Speaker 2: four verticals which are hunting, fishing, conservation and cooking. But
- 0:27Speaker 2: what will it be today? Who's to say, but there
- 0:29Speaker 2: will still be a prize, with one of the players
- 0:30Speaker 2: donating five hundred dollars to the conservation organization of their choosing.
- 0:34Speaker 2: For the stat of the week this week, we are
- 0:35Speaker 2: looking at the number ten because that's how many pieces
- 0:38Speaker 2: of fish were once stolen from a freezer here at
- 0:40Speaker 2: Meat Eater HQ, with a perpetrator never being caught. Jay,
- 0:45Speaker 2: we have no IFAQ this week, but Spencer, we have
- 0:47Speaker 2: a little bit of housekeeping. Why don't you take that aways.
- 0:49Speaker 1: The grand opening of the Milwaukee med Eater stories Friday,
- 0:53Speaker 1: September nineteenth, so just a couple of days after this
- 0:55Speaker 1: is dropping. Doors open at four pm. Event goes until
- 0:59Speaker 1: seven pm. There's food and beer, plus free merch for
- 1:02Speaker 1: the first one hundred people through the door. Me, Mark
- 1:05Speaker 1: Kenyon and the Wisconsin native Chester Floyd will be there
- 1:08Speaker 1: hanging out the stores located at the corners of Brookfield
- 1:13Speaker 1: again four to seven pm this Friday. Come stump us
- 1:16Speaker 1: with trivia. Tell us your hunting stories, show Chester your
- 1:19Speaker 1: fishing pictures. Make really jealous with some musky pictures that
- 1:23Speaker 1: you have on your phone. It's going to be fun.
- 1:24Speaker 1: And then the next day we will be in Madison
- 1:27Speaker 1: for the tailgate tour. So a full weekend of Wisconsin
- 1:30Speaker 1: Shenanigans happening soon.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Oh, I'm going to put on a couple of lbs
- 1:34Speaker 2: on that loop.
- 1:35Speaker 1: It'll be good.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Thank you, Spencer, cheesekirds. Oh, we've got a lot to
- 1:40Speaker 2: get to today. I don't know how long it's going
- 1:42Speaker 2: to take, Ashley. So let's get right into the game.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Let's play the drop.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Power resides where men believe it resides. It's a trick,
- 1:56Speaker 3: a shadow on the wall.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Different, Phil, feel different. It's Phil Trivia. Baby, You're in
- 2:04Speaker 2: the great game. Now, all great games terrifying.
- 2:10Speaker 1: We have no idea what to expect. Phil specifically asked
- 2:12Speaker 1: for five people here and said, don't snoop around the studio,
- 2:16Speaker 1: so a lot of anticipation, Phil.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Let's get to it. Our story opens in the mountain
- 2:24Speaker 2: town of Bozeman, Montana, because once a humble hamlet of
- 2:27Speaker 2: ski bums and college kids who like to fly fish,
- 2:30Speaker 2: but now it's filled with more than its fair share
- 2:31Speaker 2: of celebrities, tech bros and Texas X paths looking to
- 2:34Speaker 2: live out there Dutton ranch fantasies on the outskirts of Yellowstone,
- 2:37Speaker 2: each playing their own role and really mucking up the
- 2:39Speaker 2: housing market. But more importantly to our story, Bozeman is
- 2:43Speaker 2: also home to Meat Eater HQ or every day outdoor
- 2:46Speaker 2: loving people come together to produce videos, podcasts, books, and
- 2:50Speaker 2: freeze dried stroganof all in the name of celebrating the
- 2:53Speaker 2: pursuit of wild game and protecting the land that we
- 2:55Speaker 2: all used to do that. Yes, Spencer Newhart, why don't
- 2:58Speaker 2: you remind the audience what you do here at Meat
- 3:00Speaker 2: Eater and just kind of give us a brief look
- 3:02Speaker 2: into a typical work day, specifically a trivia day when
- 3:06Speaker 2: you're hosting trivia.
- 3:07Speaker 1: I host trivia, So on a typical trivia day, I'm
- 3:10Speaker 1: wrapping up any loose ends for the script, and yeah,
- 3:14Speaker 1: then we show up here, prep the studio, which is
- 3:17Speaker 1: mostly just passing out whiteboards and markers and then usually
- 3:21Speaker 1: harassing count to see if he's going to make it
- 3:23Speaker 1: or not. And then it takes about an hour to record,
- 3:27Speaker 1: and then Phil takes it away from there he does
- 3:28Speaker 1: the rest. That's what a day of hosting trivia is.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Like, awesome, Spencer, want you to put that whitboard away.
- 3:33Speaker 2: You're not gonna need it. Oh, I wouldn't take this
- 3:35Speaker 2: twenty sided Die. I want you to give that a
- 3:38Speaker 2: roll eighteen eighteen Spencer, Holy crap, you had a great
- 3:44Speaker 2: day of work today. Just the best trivia questions. You know,
- 3:47Speaker 2: people complain that question number ten was a fishing question,
- 3:50Speaker 2: but you know they was still just really well crafted.
- 3:53Speaker 2: I'd say you had a great day, Brody, same thing.
- 3:55Speaker 2: What do you do here? And what is a typical
- 3:57Speaker 2: day for Brodie Henderson looked like.
- 4:00Speaker 4: Typical that I write books with this guy named Steven Ronello.
- 4:04Speaker 4: He's some people say he's a good writer. So I
- 4:08Speaker 4: write a lot and now I'm doing a lot of
- 4:12Speaker 4: like visual graphics, like artwork for for artwork for a
- 4:17Speaker 4: book that's due and over a year.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Right on, there's one for you, Brody, go ada and
- 4:23Speaker 2: give that a role. That where's this going? That's an eight, Brodie,
- 4:31Speaker 2: You've had better days. You woke up on the right
- 4:33Speaker 2: side of the bed, but it didn't last very long.
- 4:34Speaker 2: He spilled some coffee on the front of your shirt.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Steve came back to you with a bunch of revisions
- 4:38Speaker 2: for the book that you didn't really agree with. But hey,
- 4:40Speaker 2: he's the boss.
- 4:43Speaker 1: It seems like an out.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:45Speaker 5: Same for you, uh, senior photographer here at Meat Eater.
- 4:51Speaker 5: I do a lot of product photography, shooting white background stuff,
- 4:56Speaker 5: which is just, you know, super fun.
- 5:01Speaker 2: There is no average day for me. Honestly, every day
- 5:05Speaker 2: is a little different.
- 5:06Speaker 5: I do trivia, I do uh all sorts of other
- 5:10Speaker 5: photo shoots.
- 5:10Speaker 2: I'll sit in them podcasts, you know.
- 5:12Speaker 5: Sometimes some days of mediting photos, some days I'm shooting photos,
- 5:16Speaker 5: some days I'm shooting video. Steve caught a big giant
- 5:20Speaker 5: piece of fat off a buffalo carcass.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Some days I'm flashing Beaver's. You just never really know.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Give that die a role, seth three. It's been a
- 5:34Speaker 2: rough week. U Karen asked you to film a podcast
- 5:37Speaker 2: that you have nothing to do with. Really, it's Phil's job,
- 5:40Speaker 2: but he was busy doing other stuff. There was a
- 5:42Speaker 2: ton of wind. Some of the cameras died, and you
- 5:45Speaker 2: film the video cards and said that you'd like them
- 5:48Speaker 2: back on time, and he just totally forgot. I still
- 5:50Speaker 2: don't have him him. By the way, it sounds like
- 5:55Speaker 2: last week for some reason. Cow same for you. Oh,
- 6:02Speaker 2: this morning, I wrote an article on uh threat upcoming
- 6:07Speaker 2: threats to public lance. I responded to several other things
- 6:14Speaker 2: I wrote last week that were heavily revised, and then
- 6:18Speaker 2: I was reminded of a lot of other things that
- 6:20Speaker 2: I partially finished last week and and didn't complete. And
- 6:24Speaker 2: that's kind of average, really, right.
- 6:30Speaker 6: Oh, I thought I was going to be the lowest count.
- 6:37Speaker 2: You accidentally some some raw meat the night before. It
- 6:41Speaker 2: was a horrible night sushi. You and Snort both were
- 6:47Speaker 2: up all night for for separate reasons. You got no sleep,
- 6:51Speaker 2: You forgot to record your podcast, and Phil hounded you,
- 6:55Speaker 2: and then you record the whole thing and then realize
- 6:57Speaker 2: you forgot to hit the record button. You need to
- 6:59Speaker 2: do it all over again. This is this is real life.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Snort got so sick that I had to leave the
- 7:04Speaker 2: door open so I could try to get some sleep
- 7:07Speaker 2: and then uh in the morning when I woke up, Uh,
- 7:12Speaker 2: she had tracked ship onto the bed. Oh oh no.
- 7:18Speaker 2: And this was the one night where I was like,
- 7:20Speaker 2: I'm gonna go to bed at like eight thirty so
- 7:22Speaker 2: I can really get some sleep. So yeah, it's one.
- 7:25Speaker 2: That's one. Yeah, Horribleva Your Turney.
- 7:31Speaker 7: I am on the podcast team with the one and
- 7:34Speaker 7: only Phillium over here. I edit and sound design Bear
- 7:40Speaker 7: Grease and This Country Life podcast. I publish all of
- 7:43Speaker 7: the episodes of all the podcasts, all the places and
- 7:46Speaker 7: YouTube and bug this guy about gain his ads recorded
- 7:50Speaker 7: and stuff like that.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Your turn, Riva.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Can't be a worse day than cal.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Well twelve, not a bad day, you know. The render
- 8:03Speaker 2: could have come in a little bit more on time,
- 8:06Speaker 2: you know, but cal goatis ads. Wow, you finished your
- 8:10Speaker 2: work early. It's like one pm on a Friday. You
- 8:13Speaker 2: just got to wait for the trivia game coming up today.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I like it.
- 8:16Speaker 8: Phil. I got a question.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Yeah, what's up, Brady?
- 8:18Speaker 4: Have these dice seen real action and dungeons and dragons?
- 8:22Speaker 2: This may be the first time. Oh wow, okay, where
- 8:25Speaker 2: they purchased just for this purpose? I don't know let's see. Well, thanks, guys.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Today's an exciting day at the office because not only
- 8:34Speaker 2: is it a Friday, but it's also a trivia record day,
- 8:37Speaker 2: and a couple of out of town colleagues, Clay and Chester,
- 8:40Speaker 2: are in town as well. And you'll bring. Being a
- 8:42Speaker 2: Friday afternoon, most of your colleagues are out getting fueled
- 8:44Speaker 2: by nature, so the office is pretty quiet, but you
- 8:46Speaker 2: will make your way down to the podcast studio and
- 8:48Speaker 2: run into Clay, who's just coming in the front door,
- 8:50Speaker 2: arriving for the day. He's got a little meeting with
- 8:52Speaker 2: Steve later, and he says, hey, hey, guys, how's it going.
- 8:55Speaker 2: It's nice to be here. How are you good? Good?
- 9:00Speaker 2: You guys playing trivia today?
- 9:02Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 9:03Speaker 2: We Lay, I didn't get the invite, you know. That's
- 9:06Speaker 2: that's that's all right. What are you gonna do about it?
- 9:08Speaker 1: Well, your accent is a little weird today too.
- 9:11Speaker 2: I don't know what you're talking about. It sounds exactly
- 9:12Speaker 2: like I sounded every single day. Chester comes down to
- 9:16Speaker 2: he says, oh, guys, hey, Clay, I didn't get invited
- 9:19Speaker 2: to play trivia either, but I think Seth and I
- 9:22Speaker 2: are going to go up to the reservoir and get
- 9:24Speaker 2: after some walleye after the game, right, yeah, absolutely yeah, Clay.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Clay jumps in and he's like, you guys have room
- 9:30Speaker 2: on the boat for another and Chester turns to swim. Uh no,
- 9:35Speaker 2: he gets kind of packed with with more than with
- 9:37Speaker 2: more than two. I'm three specifically, So I don't know
- 9:42Speaker 2: why Chester just sounded like Clay that right now, But anyway,
- 9:47Speaker 2: Clay seems a little offended. But at this time, Steve
- 9:50Speaker 2: Ronella walks in holding a styrofoam cooler, comes walking by.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Oh nice to run into you guys down here. You're
- 9:57Speaker 2: playing trivia?
- 9:58Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, according at one o'clock.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Yeah, you're lucky. I'm not playing which your asses? Uh uh.
- 10:06Speaker 2: Clay turns to Steve and says, Steve, what's what's in
- 10:08Speaker 2: that that cooler there? It's like, oh, well, Chester and
- 10:10Speaker 2: I just got back from Louisiana. Got some reds uh
- 10:13Speaker 2: gonna you know, blacking them up for the family, didn't.
- 10:15Speaker 2: I'm just gonna throw them in this freezer. I'm gonna
- 10:17Speaker 2: run upstairs and take a call, but after my calm
- 10:18Speaker 2: and to grab the fish and take off. But you guys,
- 10:21Speaker 2: you guys have a have a fun game.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Okay, thanks Steve.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Yeah uh so, but before that, Steve asked Chester and
- 10:28Speaker 2: Clay to help him get some more stuff out of
- 10:29Speaker 2: his car and bring it to the freezer. Pretty standard.
- 10:33Speaker 2: But now you all walk into the podcast studio, Spencer
- 10:35Speaker 2: sits at the host seat, and you all play a
- 10:38Speaker 2: game of trivia. What I want you to do now
- 10:40Speaker 2: is to roll that same die if you got a
- 10:43Speaker 2: ten or above earlier when you rolled, for what kind
- 10:46Speaker 2: of a day you had? I want you to add
- 10:47Speaker 2: a four to this role. If you had a bad
- 10:50Speaker 2: day one through nine, got to subtract a four. This
- 10:56Speaker 2: is crazy, but Cal, you still want the game of
- 10:58Speaker 2: trivia despite shitting your pants all night. Yeah, keep turning
- 11:01Speaker 2: your podcast in late so you know. Congratulations to Cal.
- 11:05Speaker 2: You did. What conservation organization would you like to donate
- 11:08Speaker 2: your five hundred dollars to. We're gonna go back country
- 11:11Speaker 2: hunters and anglers please, eh A great, great, typical typical. Okay, Well,
- 11:20Speaker 2: after the game, y all head out into the hallway. Spencer.
- 11:22Speaker 2: You have an early dinner reservation with Shelby tonight, and
- 11:25Speaker 2: you know, since it's already nearing five o'clock, she just
- 11:28Speaker 2: decides to meet you at the office. You can roll
- 11:30Speaker 2: over together and then you know you can head.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Oh, oh my goodness, oh my god, what you're doing here?
- 11:42Speaker 2: Crazy? It was so nice of you to meet Spencer, right.
- 11:47Speaker 2: I feel like Spencer looks a little nervous.
- 11:49Speaker 1: I did not know this was happening. My wife is
- 11:51Speaker 1: now in this.
- 11:52Speaker 5: Studios the Crazy Craziest Trivia episode.
- 11:56Speaker 2: As you'll get up and file out a studio. Those
- 11:58Speaker 2: of you who have email notifications on your phone, you
- 12:01Speaker 2: all get pings at the same time. You pull out
- 12:04Speaker 2: your phone and check it, and you open your email
- 12:08Speaker 2: to find this very real email. We once Scott from
- 12:10Speaker 2: Steven Ronella. He says, Hi, all they are about tennis
- 12:14Speaker 2: pieces of fish from the SRMI Louisiana shoot that were
- 12:17Speaker 2: physically put into the freezer this afternoon but now are gone.
- 12:21Speaker 2: Did anyone move items or take items for shoots? Maybe
- 12:23Speaker 2: thinking of something else? Please let me know. We will
- 12:26Speaker 2: offer a reward twenty dollars for any infom Well, the
- 12:32Speaker 2: game is a foot, You'll probably have better and more
- 12:36Speaker 2: important things to do, but twenty dollars is twenty dollars.
- 12:38Speaker 2: In with the office being mostly empty, the list of
- 12:40Speaker 2: suspects does not stretch long. What do you want to
- 12:44Speaker 2: do find them?
- 12:47Speaker 1: Yeah, let's get them.
- 12:49Speaker 2: You'll take a stock of everyone in the office, and
- 12:51Speaker 2: by your estimation, the only people you know who are
- 12:53Speaker 2: in the office today are Clay Chester, all of you.
- 12:58Speaker 2: You can look around the building. You can talk to
- 12:59Speaker 2: the playing Chester. Okay, Chester's allergic to fish.
- 13:05Speaker 4: Oh yeah, he might have done it out of spite,
- 13:09Speaker 4: because he is allergic and he's always supplying people for
- 13:11Speaker 4: fish fresh.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Let's talk to Chester. I don't think Chester can lie either.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Clay can't really lie. Let's let's talk to Chester.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Yeah. You all head up to Chester's office, and from
- 13:21Speaker 2: down the hallway you hear some music playing. He's practicing
- 13:24Speaker 2: his good time, something like that's why you don't take
- 13:28Speaker 2: your ex's lover to your favorite hunting spot. You all
- 13:33Speaker 2: file in and oh, hey guys, Oh hey, what's the occasions?
- 13:39Speaker 2: Hey guys, Yeah, how's it going. Apologies to the entire
- 13:42Speaker 2: state of Wisconsin. You go, what are you doing here? Well,
- 13:49Speaker 2: some fish has gone missing and we'd like to come
- 13:51Speaker 2: and ask if you know anything about it. You did
- 13:54Speaker 2: help put fish in the freezer.
- 13:58Speaker 1: And there's not many folks at the office to day. Chester,
- 14:00Speaker 1: so it's a short list of suspects.
- 14:02Speaker 8: Well, I saw it coming off the bat.
- 14:05Speaker 1: We're just seeing what he knows.
- 14:07Speaker 2: Lots of opportunity for good cops here. Yeah, Chester turns
- 14:10Speaker 2: to Seth like looking for a life.
- 14:12Speaker 9: Did you actually put it in the freezer? Because sometimes
- 14:14Speaker 9: you forget to do things as you're doing them. Yeah,
- 14:19Speaker 9: I definitely I put it in the freezer. I mean
- 14:20Speaker 9: you can ask Clay. I was there. He Clay can
- 14:23Speaker 9: vouch for me. I'm Steve can vouch for me too.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Okay, all right, all right, well yeah, maybe we should
- 14:28Speaker 1: go talk to Clay then, or should we talk to
- 14:30Speaker 1: Chester a little longer?
- 14:31Speaker 2: You think, Spencer, once you go ahead and roll that
- 14:33Speaker 2: die for me?
- 14:35Speaker 1: I rolled a thirteen.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Okay. Uh, this is a little bit of an insight
- 14:39Speaker 2: check into Chester. He's telling you the truth, but he's
- 14:42Speaker 2: leaving something out.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Oh okay, okay.
- 14:46Speaker 2: I I helped Steve bring in, bringing what he wanted,
- 14:49Speaker 2: and then you know, I just came up here write
- 14:52Speaker 2: some music, that's all. Okay, So you brought in what
- 14:57Speaker 2: he wanted, but not necessarily everything. Yeah, I don't. I mean, guys,
- 15:02Speaker 2: I'm I'm allergic to fish. I don't know why you're
- 15:05Speaker 2: accusing me of of this?
- 15:07Speaker 8: Did you see someone else?
- 15:08Speaker 2: Fish? Just Clay? You know, I honestly if I if
- 15:13Speaker 2: I were you, I would go talk to I would
- 15:15Speaker 2: go talk to Clay. I don't know who else is here.
- 15:17Speaker 10: Hey, Chester, maybe you wanna come with everyone to talk
- 15:20Speaker 10: to Clay.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Maybe, yeah, I'll do that. Let's go Igay, see, I'll
- 15:26Speaker 2: get up. You go over to Clay's office. Oh, what's
- 15:31Speaker 2: what's the occasion? Is the Spanish inquisition or what's going
- 15:34Speaker 2: on here?
- 15:36Speaker 1: Well, Clay, some fish has gone missing. That Chester says
- 15:40Speaker 1: he put in the freezer. So we're just trying to
- 15:43Speaker 1: figure out where it went.
- 15:45Speaker 2: And it sounded like you were there when Check put
- 15:48Speaker 2: in the freezer and step go ahead and roll that die.
- 15:50Speaker 2: You're gonna make a perception check for me. Ten. That's
- 15:54Speaker 2: exactly what you needed. You Notice that Clay does a
- 15:56Speaker 2: quick side glance to Chester at the mention of the freezer.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Me and Chester helped Steve bring in his fish and
- 16:03Speaker 2: a couple other things, put him in the freezer and a.
- 16:06Speaker 11: Couple other things. What else is going in the freezer?
- 16:10Speaker 2: Listen, guys, I don't know what else to tell you.
- 16:13Speaker 2: I mean, Chester can say we brought in the fish. Honestly,
- 16:16Speaker 2: I'm a little offended this is even happening right now.
- 16:19Speaker 2: I like to come into town and see you guys
- 16:21Speaker 2: and not having a great time. To be honest, did
- 16:23Speaker 2: you happen to notice anybody else around the freezer? Col
- 16:29Speaker 2: go ahead and make an intimidation check. Fourteen play turns
- 16:37Speaker 2: to Chester. They look at you. Okay, I'm sorry, I
- 16:44Speaker 2: swear we didn't take any fish. But Steve told us
- 16:47Speaker 2: about some ice cream that was in the freezer that
- 16:49Speaker 2: Dometic sent us as sort of like a promotional thing.
- 16:51Speaker 2: He said he didn't want us to take it, but
- 16:55Speaker 2: it's ice cream. We took the gosh dar and ice cream. Okay,
- 17:00Speaker 2: I'm sorry. I can show you. We can bring you
- 17:02Speaker 2: down there. I'll help you look for the fish. There's
- 17:04Speaker 2: real sweet tooths in those mouths too. Just Chester, Chester
- 17:10Speaker 2: looks incredibly shameful right now. Well, anyway, you guys, with
- 17:14Speaker 2: the admission of the ice cream theft, Clay and Chester
- 17:17Speaker 2: bring you down to the freezer. Cal I would like
- 17:21Speaker 2: for you to make a perception check. Oh six, okay,
- 17:28Speaker 2: Well you don't notice everything, but one thing you absolutely
- 17:31Speaker 2: do notice is that your dog Snort, who you haven't
- 17:36Speaker 2: seen for a couple of hours because you were playing
- 17:38Speaker 2: trivia and working and she was kind of wandering around
- 17:40Speaker 2: the office. You see her standing room by the freezer.
- 17:44Speaker 2: The freezer door is open, and she her mouth is
- 17:48Speaker 2: just full of bags of food, crackers, freeze, dried meats, jerky.
- 17:55Speaker 2: She looks at you, and she looks different. She looks
- 17:59Speaker 2: malnurish and kind of skinny, despite you just having seen
- 18:03Speaker 2: her a couple hours ago, and upon seeing you, she
- 18:06Speaker 2: immediately runs towards the freezer and jumps in.
- 18:10Speaker 11: We should follow her, should probably investigate.
- 18:12Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, you'all congregate around the freezer and investigate.
- 18:17Speaker 2: And looking in, you see no sign of Snort. But
- 18:20Speaker 2: what you do see is a gaping hole at the
- 18:22Speaker 2: bottom of the freezer, like kind of a faint teal
- 18:25Speaker 2: glow around the edges of the hole. It's about as
- 18:28Speaker 2: deep as the freezer and four feet wide.
- 18:31Speaker 10: Okay, well, I've canceled our reservation. We have to check
- 18:34Speaker 10: this out.
- 18:35Speaker 1: Yeah, we should investigate the freezer portal for sure.
- 18:39Speaker 2: So you guys are going to dive into the freezer, Yes,
- 18:41Speaker 2: yes we are.
- 18:42Speaker 8: We're gonna throw something in and see what happens.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Oh that's a good idea, Brody. What would you like
- 18:47Speaker 2: to pick up and throw in.
- 18:52Speaker 5: The fetuses that Krinn has freezer?
- 18:58Speaker 2: All right, take a pig fetus, throw it down. You're
- 19:04Speaker 2: kind of like a sound of just like friction, like
- 19:08Speaker 2: something is sliding, and it gets quieter and quieter and
- 19:11Speaker 2: quieter and then disappears.
- 19:15Speaker 4: I hope we should go get Steve and see if
- 19:17Speaker 4: he wants to take a ride down the portal.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Well, Steve took off for the day. Yeah, I mean,
- 19:23Speaker 2: let's be honest, if that was in fact my dog,
- 19:26Speaker 2: I'd be going down. So you all gear up to
- 19:30Speaker 2: head just, you know, completely blind, into this hole that
- 19:33Speaker 2: appeared in to a freezer. Seems like a stupid thing
- 19:34Speaker 2: to do. But before you do, Clay stops. He says, well,
- 19:38Speaker 2: hold on, it's dangerous to go alone, and then goes
- 19:41Speaker 2: to the gun safe that's over there by the freezer
- 19:43Speaker 2: and opens it up. You shouldn't go in unarmed. And
- 19:47Speaker 2: he opens the safe and you see kind of a
- 19:48Speaker 2: strange assortment of five different weapons. You see a traditional
- 19:53Speaker 2: recurve bow, a three to eight Winchester rifle, a massive
- 19:57Speaker 2: just like axe for cutting down trees, two skinning knives,
- 20:01Speaker 2: a machete, and then next to the gun safe leaning
- 20:05Speaker 2: against it is the guitar signed by Co Wetzel that
- 20:09Speaker 2: Co gave the chili. It's crazy. There are six things
- 20:12Speaker 2: you can take and there's six of you. Wow, bizarre.
- 20:15Speaker 1: Okay, should we figure out who takes what weapon then?
- 20:21Speaker 4: So if we decided we can't let Cal go alone
- 20:23Speaker 4: now and we're all going with him?
- 20:25Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, Cal, you're probably the best traditional archery person
- 20:29Speaker 1: in here.
- 20:30Speaker 2: I would say I can't imagine that's the best weapon
- 20:32Speaker 2: for going into a whole. Cal's taking the bow.
- 20:39Speaker 4: I want that big ass axe.
- 20:43Speaker 1: There we go as the winner of the sig shooting
- 20:46Speaker 1: competition earlier this year, I should probably have the three
- 20:49Speaker 1: O eight since I'm the best shot in the group.
- 20:56Speaker 8: You know how to use a couple of skin in
- 20:58Speaker 8: there and the guitar.
- 20:59Speaker 9: I can use a skinny knife, I know, I don't
- 21:01Speaker 9: I don't get Oh yeah.
- 21:03Speaker 10: Frankly, I don't feel like a safe person with any
- 21:07Speaker 10: of these options.
- 21:08Speaker 11: So maybe I'll take the guitar.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Play but you can play what what was your instrument?
- 21:20Speaker 12: You never know when something needs to.
- 21:26Speaker 2: Perfect.
- 21:28Speaker 11: Thank you, Thank.
- 21:28Speaker 2: You, skinny knives.
- 21:33Speaker 1: Phil has now distributed some pieces of paper that have
- 21:37Speaker 1: stats on them, so that goes along with the weapon.
- 21:41Speaker 2: We chose everything I like. I put information on the sheet,
- 21:45Speaker 2: only pertinent information. Frankly, about only a quarter of this
- 21:48Speaker 2: is anything. You're gonna use it. Don't be intimidated. I'm
- 21:50Speaker 2: gonna try to make this as easy as possible. You know,
- 21:54Speaker 2: after you, guys, I'll take these weapons. You look down
- 21:58Speaker 2: into the hole, give a salute to Clay and Chester,
- 22:01Speaker 2: who are going to stay back. You know, someone's got
- 22:03Speaker 2: to guard the freezer. Yeah, and this ice cream is
- 22:05Speaker 2: not going to eat itself, so they hang back, and
- 22:08Speaker 2: you all take turns, heading feet first into this mysterious hole.
- 22:12Speaker 2: And after sliding down a surprisingly smooth shoot of soil
- 22:16Speaker 2: and loam for about twenty thirty feet, you can't help
- 22:20Speaker 2: but feel the air becoming thick with moisture, even as
- 22:24Speaker 2: the fear of what may await you at the bottom
- 22:26Speaker 2: of the slide begins to take over. And then do
- 22:33Speaker 2: you land on an unexpectedly soft and foamy surface. Incomplete
- 22:38Speaker 2: and total darkness of everyone around here could make a
- 22:41Speaker 2: perception check for me. So you're going to roll the
- 22:44Speaker 2: twenty sided die the one that you've had the whole time.
- 22:48Speaker 2: There is a stat listed in the blue highlighted section
- 22:52Speaker 2: that says perception. I would like you to add that
- 22:55Speaker 2: number to the die and tell me what you got.
- 23:00Speaker 1: In the blue area.
- 23:02Speaker 2: I don't see intelligence, wisdom, charisma, constitution, dexterity, and strength
- 23:07Speaker 2: is what I have. Those are the main ones, and
- 23:09Speaker 2: then there are there's some smaller texts under there.
- 23:12Speaker 11: Oh in the wisdom, Yes.
- 23:15Speaker 2: Under wisdom percept five.
- 23:19Speaker 8: So what do we add that number to our number?
- 23:22Speaker 2: Yep, to their number you got on the die.
- 23:23Speaker 1: I have a fourteen plus five, so in nineteen whoa dang?
- 23:27Speaker 8: I have an eighteen plus one nineteen.
- 23:31Speaker 2: Sixteen plus three nineteen I have eight total Riva.
- 23:37Speaker 11: Four were not very perceptive.
- 23:39Speaker 2: No, well, other than a thick humidity and a smell
- 23:43Speaker 2: of rotting fermenting vegetation, you have really no perception of
- 23:47Speaker 2: anything around you. I mean, you can't even get a
- 23:49Speaker 2: sense of the size of the space you're in. Is
- 23:50Speaker 2: there is essentially no reverberation of sound to give you
- 23:53Speaker 2: any sort of kind of subconscious echo location. The one
- 23:56Speaker 2: thing that you three notice is that you feel almost
- 24:02Speaker 2: a glow throughout your entire bodies, you know, like you
- 24:05Speaker 2: just chugged like a nitro cold brew, or like like
- 24:08Speaker 2: a five milligram gummy is just kicking in something like that.
- 24:11Speaker 1: Okay, what's that feel like?
- 24:13Speaker 2: Or Mount knops a night perhaps, Oh yeah, that as well.
- 24:18Speaker 2: But Brody, you notice on the ground there just a
- 24:21Speaker 2: very faint, pulsing purple light emanating from a tiny mushroom.
- 24:26Speaker 8: M Spencer, what kind of mushroom is that?
- 24:31Speaker 1: I have never seen a mushroom like that that pulsates.
- 24:34Speaker 1: I mean the closest thing would maybe be like a
- 24:36Speaker 1: fly at Garrick, but it doesn't look too much like
- 24:39Speaker 1: a fly a Gerrick.
- 24:41Speaker 2: I bet Shelby, Oh eat it?
- 24:43Speaker 10: Uh no, actually, don't touch it. Spencer loves to touch
- 24:46Speaker 10: a mushroom he's investigating.
- 24:48Speaker 11: Don't touch that. I don't know what that is.
- 24:50Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, I would rather not touch it and maybe poke.
- 24:53Speaker 10: At it a little, not with your hand, maybe like
- 24:56Speaker 10: with your.
- 24:57Speaker 1: Rifle, just in case it gets sure.
- 25:00Speaker 2: All right, you take your rifle and you give the
- 25:02Speaker 2: little mushroom a poke, and then, almost immediately, like a
- 25:07Speaker 2: ripple reverberating in a still pond, a wave of light
- 25:10Speaker 2: emanates from the small mushroom and hundreds of thousands, maybe
- 25:15Speaker 2: millions of mushrooms and fungal growths. A light in the
- 25:18Speaker 2: space with an electric iridescence, bright at first, then dimming
- 25:23Speaker 2: down into a soft glow. But it's enough to light
- 25:25Speaker 2: this entire area that you're in. Okay, you stand inside
- 25:29Speaker 2: a massive cavern, maybe four hundred feet high. You can
- 25:32Speaker 2: see the ceiling because there's also fungal growths along the
- 25:35Speaker 2: ceiling that are lit up as well, But the space
- 25:39Speaker 2: is so expansive you can't see any sort of wall
- 25:42Speaker 2: in any cardinal direction. Your only sense of where to
- 25:44Speaker 2: go from here is a crudely cut trail right in
- 25:47Speaker 2: front of you that's carved through a section of this
- 25:49Speaker 2: fungal forest. Could this be what's having averse effects on
- 25:57Speaker 2: my dog?
- 25:58Speaker 11: Yeah, snored around?
- 25:59Speaker 2: Have we call kay I? Why don't you give me
- 26:01Speaker 2: an investigation check with advantage? What that means is you
- 26:06Speaker 2: roll that twenty sided die twice and you take the
- 26:09Speaker 2: highest result that's twelve or five. Take twelve. You are
- 26:17Speaker 2: going to add your investigation score on there, which I
- 26:20Speaker 2: believe is under intelligence. If you can read, I can
- 26:25Speaker 2: bring the lights up well. Oddly enough, in both the
- 26:28Speaker 2: intelligence and charisma categories. I have zero's across the board,
- 26:32Speaker 2: so well, you know what, that's still enough. The number
- 26:35Speaker 2: on the die was the number on the die was
- 26:37Speaker 2: high enough. You only needed a twelve. All right, we'll
- 26:39Speaker 2: take it. You get down on your knees, and you notice.
- 26:42Speaker 2: I mean it's you can't mistake it for anything else.
- 26:44Speaker 2: Snorts tracks are right right down the stream.
- 26:49Speaker 12: We're gonna have to follow it.
- 26:50Speaker 11: Yeah, I think we better go investigate.
- 26:54Speaker 1: We should probably be strategic about who goes first, though,
- 26:57Speaker 1: based on the weapons here.
- 26:59Speaker 2: No, I'm just saying this is a serious situation because
- 27:02Speaker 2: this is abnormal behavior for that dog.
- 27:05Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, maybe cal first or what then?
- 27:07Speaker 2: All right, dog called that a marching order spencer. You're
- 27:10Speaker 2: on it. I appreciate it. Col's in front, y'all had
- 27:13Speaker 2: in a single file line progress down the trail. Uh.
- 27:18Speaker 2: I mean you've never seen anything like this before. No,
- 27:20Speaker 2: just an expanse of insane fungal grows and mushrooms that
- 27:25Speaker 2: some look familiar like a fla garrick or some sort
- 27:27Speaker 2: of morale looking thing, but others that look completely alien
- 27:30Speaker 2: with tendrils growing off of them kind of are drifting
- 27:34Speaker 2: in a completely breezeless and sort of there's no air
- 27:37Speaker 2: movement in this space. Whatsoever?
- 27:39Speaker 1: What's the Netflix show you like? Fill the that has
- 27:42Speaker 1: the upside down in its stranger things? It feels like
- 27:45Speaker 1: that a Lotte.
- 27:46Speaker 2: It kind of looks like it's not too dissimilar.
- 27:48Speaker 4: I'd say for the last of us, we got to
- 27:50Speaker 4: worry about effect us.
- 27:52Speaker 2: I don't know what to find out. You know, even
- 27:57Speaker 2: though there's not a lot of sound in here, k
- 28:00Speaker 2: usually when they get close enough you hear you only
- 28:03Speaker 2: see just silhouettes of some animal you've never seen before.
- 28:06Speaker 2: Looks something like a bat with just a wingspan of
- 28:09Speaker 2: about seven or eight feet and a long tail like
- 28:11Speaker 2: a fox.
- 28:12Speaker 8: Dangerous.
- 28:13Speaker 2: Some of the fungal vines that are growing on these
- 28:16Speaker 2: trees recoil as you walk past, as if they can
- 28:18Speaker 2: sense that you're there and don't want any part of you.
- 28:20Speaker 2: But after about twenty minutes of following the trail, you
- 28:23Speaker 2: hear a distant sound of rolling water, and several minutes
- 28:28Speaker 2: later you arrive at a cliff's edge, and the trail
- 28:31Speaker 2: ends here. But you can tell it didn't used to
- 28:33Speaker 2: because you can spot the remains of a rope bridge
- 28:36Speaker 2: hanging directly under you, and you can see posts at
- 28:38Speaker 2: the other side of this canyon. It's on the other
- 28:40Speaker 2: side of this cliff, as if the rope bridge was
- 28:42Speaker 2: attached there and was severed and fell towards your side
- 28:45Speaker 2: of the canyon. You also, you know, you notice the
- 28:49Speaker 2: source of the running water. There's a relatively fast moving
- 28:51Speaker 2: river that's running through the canyon and kind of curves
- 28:53Speaker 2: with the canyon in the direction of the trail across
- 28:56Speaker 2: the canyon. And you also notice an overturned skiff down
- 29:00Speaker 2: on the shore of this river in the canyon, and
- 29:03Speaker 2: there's kind of an embankment about thirty forty feet off
- 29:05Speaker 2: to the side. If you wanted to get down there,
- 29:06Speaker 2: you could. However, before you decide what to do about
- 29:10Speaker 2: this impasse, it would be nearly impossible to miss the
- 29:14Speaker 2: desecrated and mangled dead body about ten feet.
- 29:17Speaker 1: To or left.
- 29:20Speaker 2: I'm gonna be honest with your kids, I don't think
- 29:21Speaker 2: this is about the fish fillet is at this point.
- 29:23Speaker 2: I was just gonna say, are we still looking for the.
- 29:24Speaker 1: Fish the fishing sort?
- 29:29Speaker 2: Yeah, and who's dead? Well, keep in mind too, if
- 29:32Speaker 2: I'm leaving the pack and we just walk for twenty minutes.
- 29:34Speaker 2: We're more than a mile underground. Seth and Brody, you
- 29:41Speaker 2: guys are good skiff folks. We're crossing this thing or what.
- 29:45Speaker 8: How many people we got?
- 29:46Speaker 1: Yeah, we should look at that dead?
- 29:48Speaker 11: Are they too dead for healing?
- 29:49Speaker 2: Word? At this point, they're dead dead. I can smell, Shelby.
- 29:55Speaker 2: Do you want to get closer and look?
- 29:56Speaker 10: Yeah, I'll get up there and like give them a
- 29:58Speaker 10: little nudge with the guitar.
- 30:00Speaker 2: I don't care about to make an investigation check and
- 30:03Speaker 2: if anyone would like to help her they love some help,
- 30:08Speaker 2: then they can also roll. I'm not even gonna have
- 30:13Speaker 2: you add your modifier there, because that is plenty. On
- 30:15Speaker 2: A nineteen, you notice that he is almost chewed apart completely.
- 30:22Speaker 2: All the fat and muscle from every single limb is
- 30:27Speaker 2: just I mean, it's just ripped off of his His
- 30:30Speaker 2: body's been probably dead for about two to three weeks,
- 30:32Speaker 2: you'd guess. But even with his muscle mostly missing, you
- 30:36Speaker 2: still see a very large claw scratch across his back deep,
- 30:42Speaker 2: I mean, just like probably went through bone as well.
- 30:44Speaker 11: Like that powerful guys, what could have done this? That's
- 30:49Speaker 11: a pretty crazy gah.
- 30:52Speaker 1: Maybe that creature that was flying around before maybe the
- 30:55Speaker 1: intimidate or the fake snort we saw. Either way, I
- 30:58Speaker 1: don't think we should hang around, though.
- 31:00Speaker 2: Some things you do find though. He's got a pack
- 31:03Speaker 2: on him, or at least he used to. And in
- 31:05Speaker 2: that pack is a letter, Shelby. Do you want to
- 31:08Speaker 2: take that and read it out loud? Please?
- 31:09Speaker 10: Yes? I found something addressed to X. The more mort
- 31:17Speaker 10: Goth portal is compromise. The denizens of the material plane
- 31:21Speaker 10: must not discover this truth. Defend the causeway with whatever
- 31:24Speaker 10: magic you have at your disposal. I've been told you
- 31:26Speaker 10: have a way with fauna and flora. Do not disappoint
- 31:30Speaker 10: me again.
- 31:31Speaker 1: Woo okay, and.
- 31:35Speaker 2: Sort of mysterious missive And also with Zeth that incredibly
- 31:39Speaker 2: high investigation check that you helped Shelby with. You also
- 31:43Speaker 2: find two potions of healing. If you would like to
- 31:47Speaker 2: take any of these, you can spread them out as
- 31:49Speaker 2: you would like to. You find a potion of invulnerability,
- 31:53Speaker 2: which makes you makes you take half damage from anything
- 31:56Speaker 2: for an app for one minute, so that doesn't seem
- 32:00Speaker 2: the time to use this, all right, And you pass
- 32:06Speaker 2: the check high enough to notice that there is a
- 32:10Speaker 2: kind of nook in the stump of the tree that
- 32:12Speaker 2: this man died near as if you're trying to hide something,
- 32:16Speaker 2: you see just like a little bit a piece of
- 32:17Speaker 2: parchment kind of sticking out, and you pull out a
- 32:20Speaker 2: scroll and it's just got it's got magic runes written
- 32:23Speaker 2: all over it. I mean, if you were still up
- 32:25Speaker 2: in Bozeman, you would not be able to read this.
- 32:27Speaker 2: But something about the air, sort of like lay line
- 32:29Speaker 2: magic that seems to be emanating in this space gives
- 32:32Speaker 2: you the ability to read this script. And this is
- 32:34Speaker 2: a magic scroll of remove curse, remove curse. And you
- 32:41Speaker 2: also find this cloak of billowing seth. You can read
- 32:43Speaker 2: that and tell me in anybody who wants it can
- 32:46Speaker 2: have it. While wearing this cloak, you can use a
- 32:50Speaker 2: bonus action to make it billow dramatically.
- 32:54Speaker 4: Wow, you better hold onto that one.
- 33:00Speaker 2: Okay, all right, I mean you've picked this area clean.
- 33:04Speaker 2: So now you stand at the edge of this cliff,
- 33:06Speaker 2: a river unneath you, a boat on the shore, and
- 33:09Speaker 2: a broken rope bridge out of you. Reva, what do
- 33:11Speaker 2: you think?
- 33:13Speaker 7: Ooh, I was thinking we hook up a rope here, That's.
- 33:22Speaker 8: What I was thinking.
- 33:24Speaker 4: We could split up, send three across the rope and
- 33:26Speaker 4: three down to the boat.
- 33:28Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a good idea, very good.
- 33:31Speaker 2: Wow, it's a little more complicated than but yeah, your
- 33:37Speaker 2: guys call, what do you want to do?
- 33:39Speaker 8: It'll work for sure.
- 33:40Speaker 2: Okay, let's do it all right? So who's who's going
- 33:43Speaker 2: to be firing? I mean, you've got the boat, I guess, yeah,
- 33:45Speaker 2: I will shoot an arrow across the chasm. I'm going
- 33:47Speaker 2: to attach your rope to the arrow and shoot it
- 33:50Speaker 2: across the chasm. Yes. Great. I want you to give
- 33:53Speaker 2: me something I've got much practice with. Yeah, I would
- 33:57Speaker 2: like you to give you just a straight dexterity checks.
- 34:00Speaker 2: Gonna roll the twenty sided die and add just the
- 34:02Speaker 2: big dexterity number that is not that's above all the
- 34:04Speaker 2: other ones care. That's twelve, and I get a plus two,
- 34:09Speaker 2: So fourteen you only needed twelve. It hits kind of
- 34:14Speaker 2: the post that was holding up the rope bridge before
- 34:17Speaker 2: seems pretty sturdy. So who's going first.
- 34:23Speaker 4: I'll climb across brod. I'll use it for a zip line.
- 34:28Speaker 2: Tie at the end of the rope too, Like I
- 34:29Speaker 2: just kind of the stuff firm looking, Yeah, stuff where
- 34:32Speaker 2: the dead body is and it seems like a pretty
- 34:34Speaker 2: hot line. Who's crossing? I'll go first, all right, I'm
- 34:40Speaker 2: not even gonna make your roll, Brody. It's it's not
- 34:42Speaker 2: that tough. You hold on with both hands, you work
- 34:43Speaker 2: your way across, and you make it to the other side.
- 34:47Speaker 2: Got you guys all all gonna follow this way?
- 34:48Speaker 1: He made that look easy.
- 34:50Speaker 4: Someone's got to run the boat.
- 34:54Speaker 2: What kind of down to It's kind of a beat
- 34:57Speaker 2: up looking skiff.
- 34:58Speaker 11: You can always go down afterwards.
- 35:01Speaker 10: I think maybe we should stick together at least until
- 35:03Speaker 10: we know what we're facing here. Yeah, I think we should,
- 35:08Speaker 10: you know we could. But also I think I might
- 35:11Speaker 10: be the only healer in the adventuring party, So maybe
- 35:15Speaker 10: I'll just stick with everybody.
- 35:17Speaker 2: Maybe just a yeah, let's go across, all right, everyone
- 35:20Speaker 2: takes turns crossing the road. Yeah, good job, guys. You
- 35:23Speaker 2: make it over safe.
- 35:24Speaker 1: That was easy.
- 35:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I gave you you guys took the less obvious path,
- 35:29Speaker 2: and you guys are.
- 35:32Speaker 4: I was just worried that, you know, Snort wouldn't have
- 35:34Speaker 4: gone across that, so she might have gone.
- 35:37Speaker 2: She's a swimming son of a gun, but she's.
- 35:40Speaker 1: Also a good jumper. Though. She could have cleared that
- 35:43Speaker 1: thing no problem, especially in this upside down world we're in.
- 35:48Speaker 2: You make your way down the trail now that you're
- 35:49Speaker 2: reconnected to it, and you see a large growth of
- 35:54Speaker 2: these glowing mushrooms ahead of you in a massive clearing
- 35:59Speaker 2: my head, and atop them like a throne is a
- 36:03Speaker 2: massive black, humanoid looking house cat.
- 36:08Speaker 1: Oh.
- 36:09Speaker 2: It's picking its teeth the claw of one pot, and
- 36:12Speaker 2: it's in its other pots holding kind of like a
- 36:14Speaker 2: wriggling ball of leech like slugs all knotted together, kind
- 36:18Speaker 2: of pulsing in this weird lavender color. Yep. The next
- 36:28Speaker 2: thing you see is Snort sitting at the foot of
- 36:31Speaker 2: this throne with just a vacant, empty look in the eyes.
- 36:37Speaker 8: You're gonna put an air between the things eyes.
- 36:40Speaker 5: I think we get Spencer with the rifle to dispatch
- 36:42Speaker 5: that cat.
- 36:45Speaker 1: Well is that it looks like Set's cat. I don't
- 36:47Speaker 1: want to shoot Set's cat.
- 36:49Speaker 10: Thing doesn't know we're in there yet. Have we like
- 36:52Speaker 10: revealed ourselves? Has it found us?
- 36:55Speaker 2: It's interesting you say that because as soon as you
- 36:57Speaker 2: enter the clearing, cat makes icon act with Wow, was
- 37:04Speaker 2: it you who turned on the lights? I was trying
- 37:07Speaker 2: to have a little rest, and apparently that's not going
- 37:09Speaker 2: to happen today. Come on, let's get this over with.
- 37:12Speaker 2: Come in, come in, m all right.
- 37:14Speaker 11: We all file in, or at least I do to ca.
- 37:17Speaker 1: Yeah, this is a safe sounding cat. I don't think
- 37:19Speaker 1: we need to kill it quite yet.
- 37:20Speaker 2: I'd put around in the chamber. Spencer's going first.
- 37:26Speaker 1: Yeah, my finger is on the safe, but I haven't
- 37:30Speaker 1: taken it off safe yet. I'm crap all with this cat.
- 37:34Speaker 2: Well, I knew when the beast referring to Snort returned
- 37:38Speaker 2: all panicked, I knew that something was a miss, and
- 37:41Speaker 2: so I was just waiting for this moment. Let me explain.
- 37:45Speaker 2: I was minding my own business up there where you
- 37:49Speaker 2: all we all live, when a dreadfully ugly man in
- 37:53Speaker 2: a cloak stole me away into the freezer, brought me
- 37:58Speaker 2: down here and said some gobbledy gook and cursed me
- 38:00Speaker 2: and turned me into this abomination and said that, you know,
- 38:03Speaker 2: in exchange for supplying me with food down here, that
- 38:06Speaker 2: I would guard this trail and kill anything that tried
- 38:09Speaker 2: to pass. And he gave me the command, gave me
- 38:11Speaker 2: this this thing holds a little ball of leeches in
- 38:14Speaker 2: his hand, to command all of the yeah, freaky little
- 38:17Speaker 2: dudes down here, and after you know, several days of
- 38:21Speaker 2: him bringing me rotten fish, you know, birds with sharp
- 38:25Speaker 2: wings and dry mushrooms, I decided that, you know, ugly
- 38:29Speaker 2: man in the cloak looked rather tasty himself. Oh so
- 38:33Speaker 2: you know, it turns out that despite his poor taste
- 38:35Speaker 2: in mid day snacks, he was the only thing keeping
- 38:36Speaker 2: me from starving. You know, I decided to create a
- 38:39Speaker 2: new servant for myself after I you know, is he
- 38:41Speaker 2: still there?
- 38:43Speaker 11: Did you kill ex?
- 38:44Speaker 2: Or?
- 38:45Speaker 11: What was his name?
- 38:48Speaker 2: Xana told I don't know him. He didn't tell me.
- 38:50Speaker 2: I only heard from others.
- 38:52Speaker 11: Does this look familiar to you, mister Catman.
- 38:55Speaker 2: The dead guy? I killed him and I hate him
- 38:58Speaker 2: and his face, of course. Yeah that's what cads do.
- 39:02Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 39:04Speaker 2: Well, you know, it turns out he was quite useful
- 39:06Speaker 2: to me, but I had to eat something.
- 39:09Speaker 11: You see any fresh fish lately? Catman?
- 39:13Speaker 2: Yeah? Funny you should say that. Normally, this little ball
- 39:16Speaker 2: allows me to communicate with the things in this area.
- 39:19Speaker 2: I've tried to reach out to, you know, humans like
- 39:22Speaker 2: you above, and it's never worked. But a couple of
- 39:25Speaker 2: days ago I was able to connect with this thing
- 39:28Speaker 2: pointing to snort. According to the Skinny Wizard, that wasn't
- 39:33Speaker 2: supposed to be possible. But this life form that I
- 39:37Speaker 2: connected with had somehow been marked by a creature of
- 39:41Speaker 2: this realm. And he points to you and turns out
- 39:45Speaker 2: that whatever scarred your pup was much more than just
- 39:48Speaker 2: a simple snake. I don't know how all this works.
- 39:52Speaker 2: I'm how new to this whole thing. I've only been
- 39:54Speaker 2: here for a few weeks. But now he's my servant.
- 39:58Speaker 2: I'm sorry she she is my servant, and I'm not
- 40:02Speaker 2: giving her back. And you can't make m That fish
- 40:06Speaker 2: was delicious, by the way, And from this perspective, you
- 40:09Speaker 2: all look quite like mice. So what do you say?
- 40:11Speaker 2: We cut to the chase. She hisses, runs up a tree,
- 40:16Speaker 2: and that's what we're going to do a quick transition.
- 40:19Speaker 2: During that quick break, we had everyone rolled the dye
- 40:21Speaker 2: to see where they would go in the initiative order
- 40:23Speaker 2: of combat. Here, first to go is Brody Henderson. Brody,
- 40:29Speaker 2: you've got a giant axe. You may move thirty feet.
- 40:32Speaker 2: Each one of these squares represents five feet, am I
- 40:36Speaker 2: right here? Down forward? Five fifteen thirty. How's that? Oh?
- 40:48Speaker 12: Look a strong?
- 40:51Speaker 2: Good story. We're just sprinting towards each other maybe I
- 40:53Speaker 2: should have put you guys closer together. Oh well, you'll
- 40:54Speaker 2: you'll learn and you do better next time. The cat's
- 40:57Speaker 2: turn is next. He is going to hiss at you
- 40:59Speaker 2: once again and then run up this tree here. He's
- 41:03Speaker 2: not going to do anything. Was pretend he's on the tree.
- 41:06Speaker 2: He's going to be watching. Yes, he's the cat is treed,
- 41:11Speaker 2: and he's actually going to take an action right now.
- 41:14Speaker 2: He's going to try to hide from you, which is
- 41:15Speaker 2: something you can do as well.
- 41:17Speaker 3: Uh.
- 41:19Speaker 2: He succeeds, so as far as you know, he went
- 41:21Speaker 2: behind that tree and disappeared un tell on the battlefield. Uh.
- 41:26Speaker 2: But right before he ran into the tree, he squeezes
- 41:27Speaker 2: a little leech ball and these mushrooms it's kind of
- 41:31Speaker 2: sprouted out of the ground and it came to life.
- 41:34Speaker 2: Snort is also seemingly uh, your antagonist currently, but you
- 41:41Speaker 2: can see kind of a lavender glow in her eyes,
- 41:43Speaker 2: the same one emanating from that ball of leeches in
- 41:46Speaker 2: the cat's hand. Try to get that ball leach.
- 41:49Speaker 11: Yes, and what did we do with that dispel curse? Scroll?
- 41:54Speaker 11: Is sprout cursed or a snort curse?
- 41:59Speaker 2: And maybe try to use it later if you want
- 42:01Speaker 2: to or not. It's up to you. Coming up next
- 42:05Speaker 2: is Spencer. You're up.
- 42:08Speaker 1: I want to run closer to the cat while also
- 42:11Speaker 1: trying to stay behind.
- 42:12Speaker 11: You don't know where the cat is.
- 42:13Speaker 1: Well, we saw behind the tree, towards the tree. We
- 42:17Speaker 1: want to go towards that tree.
- 42:19Speaker 2: Okay, so you are here. You want to be as
- 42:22Speaker 2: close as you can.
- 42:23Speaker 1: Yeah, but I want to stay behind that tree too,
- 42:25Speaker 1: So like, yeah, there we go.
- 42:28Speaker 2: Take out this is This is just for scale and perspective.
- 42:32Speaker 2: If you guess you guys aren't actually sleeping or dead.
- 42:34Speaker 2: You're standing and you look proud and brave. Spencer, you
- 42:38Speaker 2: have a long range hunting rifle, which means that you
- 42:41Speaker 2: like I'm like Brody, you can attack things.
- 42:43Speaker 1: From Okay, I I would like to take aim at
- 42:47Speaker 1: that ball of leeches that has control of snort.
- 42:50Speaker 2: Okay, First, because the cat is hiding, I need you
- 42:53Speaker 2: to make a perception check to see if you can
- 42:55Speaker 2: find the cat. If you do not, rolling Bubby seventeen,
- 42:57Speaker 2: you do not find the cat. You see the cat, Yeah,
- 43:05Speaker 2: he thinks he's being sneaky, but he's not. Okay, you're
- 43:08Speaker 2: better than he is. I will tell you right now.
- 43:11Speaker 2: The cat's armor class, which is the number you have
- 43:13Speaker 2: to hit with your diet to hit the cat is
- 43:15Speaker 2: a twelve, pretty low because you're trying to shoot a
- 43:18Speaker 2: specific part of its body. I'm going to add three
- 43:20Speaker 2: to that, so you need to hit a fifteen. If
- 43:22Speaker 2: you look at your yellow box, you're gonna roll your
- 43:25Speaker 2: D twenty and there's a number next to that that
- 43:27Speaker 2: you add to.
- 43:28Speaker 1: It plus four and it's a one, So five.
- 43:31Speaker 2: Five and a that one means you miss no matter what.
- 43:34Speaker 1: Yeah, bad shot, You're all right.
- 43:37Speaker 2: Next up is the one of the mushrooms. Here. This
- 43:43Speaker 2: mushroom is gonna you can't move very fast, so he's
- 43:47Speaker 2: only going here.
- 43:48Speaker 1: Okay, seth, you're up.
- 43:53Speaker 2: So what do I do? You can move and you
- 43:55Speaker 2: can attack, and if you want to do anything else,
- 43:57Speaker 2: it's ask me about it and I'll tell you if
- 43:58Speaker 2: you can or can't.
- 43:59Speaker 11: Those mush look pretty, uh, pretty dangerous.
- 44:03Speaker 2: I guess I just moved to him. Eh, sounds like
- 44:06Speaker 2: a plan.
- 44:07Speaker 1: What's your weapons?
- 44:08Speaker 2: I don't think there's I don't think now is the time.
- 44:11Speaker 2: I do have some. I think I put a little
- 44:13Speaker 2: dagger in here, but we'll just keep going. You can
- 44:19Speaker 2: get probably about this close.
- 44:20Speaker 12: All right, that's getting pretty close to that.
- 44:23Speaker 1: I think you can throw those there, No, you.
- 44:25Speaker 2: Can, but you can't. They don't come back to you.
- 44:28Speaker 2: So I mean you can go pull you know, you
- 44:31Speaker 2: can go recover it. Okay, So now what will I do?
- 44:35Speaker 2: I'm just there. It turns basically over. Okay, it's all
- 44:38Speaker 2: you can do right now. Now it's the big old bosses,
- 44:41Speaker 2: not the cat, but that mushroom with the sprout out
- 44:44Speaker 2: of its head, that is the leader of the mushroom pack.
- 44:48Speaker 2: He is going to run towards so.
- 44:51Speaker 8: But I don't know if you can get close enough. Nope,
- 44:55Speaker 8: he's just gonna.
- 44:56Speaker 2: Hang out there. Okay, So now it is your turn.
- 45:01Speaker 2: Can I shoot that mushroom? You absolutely can? Which one
- 45:03Speaker 2: are you gonna aim for? Here? The one next is
- 45:05Speaker 2: closest to SETH one closer to SETH. Yeah, have about it.
- 45:09Speaker 2: You need to go ahead and roll that the big one,
- 45:13Speaker 2: the twenty sided die there, the red and blue one. Yep,
- 45:18Speaker 2: and you are going to add a six to this roll.
- 45:24Speaker 2: Come on, here we go. Fourteen done. Now you're going
- 45:30Speaker 2: to take that other pointy die you have there that
- 45:32Speaker 2: is a D eight. It has eight sides on it.
- 45:33Speaker 2: That's that is your damage. Die, you're going to roll
- 45:35Speaker 2: that and add a two. You just say d D
- 45:38Speaker 2: eight catching on pretty glad one one plus Let's see
- 45:45Speaker 2: you do three damage?
- 45:47Speaker 11: There you go.
- 45:47Speaker 2: It takes the hit.
- 45:48Speaker 1: Do we know how much health he has? No?
- 45:51Speaker 2: You do not?
- 45:52Speaker 1: Okay?
- 45:53Speaker 2: Coming up next gave him something to think about. That's right,
- 45:57Speaker 2: coming up next to this little dude, charge towards set
- 46:02Speaker 2: Oh god, I should have went a different and make
- 46:05Speaker 2: an attack against Seth. That is a fourteen seth.
- 46:09Speaker 1: Oh.
- 46:09Speaker 2: This is your armor class up here. You have a thirteen,
- 46:11Speaker 2: which means this little guy hits you. But once you
- 46:15Speaker 2: know these little mushrooms aren't that strong, heels one damage.
- 46:19Speaker 2: Here are your hit points you currently have seventeen. Go
- 46:23Speaker 2: and erase that right of sixteen for me.
- 46:24Speaker 1: You just like stuck your toe.
- 46:28Speaker 2: Aracer. I brought pencils, pass them down so I got
- 46:34Speaker 2: a sixteen? You got yep, you lost one hit point.
- 46:37Speaker 2: Seventeen goes down to sixteen. Shelby, you're up here, okay.
- 46:42Speaker 10: In case I'm gonna try to get like hide behind
- 46:47Speaker 10: the tree that's closest to big bad mushroom, or I
- 46:50Speaker 10: get as close as I can.
- 46:52Speaker 11: Is that my whole turn, or can I like, ready.
- 46:55Speaker 2: This is as far as you can go?
- 46:56Speaker 10: Show Okay, I'll hide behind that guy.
- 47:00Speaker 2: Yeah you didn't cover behind that tree? What about what
- 47:03Speaker 2: happened to Reva? She's last? Yeah, there you go, and
- 47:09Speaker 2: then she's smelling. No, you can cast a spell and
- 47:13Speaker 2: you can actually take the hide action to hide more
- 47:16Speaker 2: effectively behind that tree.
- 47:18Speaker 11: I could I ready a spell instead? Just in case Seth?
- 47:24Speaker 2: You absolutely can? What spell would you like to ready?
- 47:27Speaker 2: Holy cow, Shelby, he's in the lingo here, look at me.
- 47:31Speaker 11: I would like to ready healing.
- 47:35Speaker 2: Word all right and use it on Seth. Seth if
- 47:38Speaker 2: he gets if he gets hit again, if he gets yeah,
- 47:42Speaker 2: remember that. Awesome.
- 47:45Speaker 1: I'll just put Seth out of his misery. If this
- 47:47Speaker 1: doesn't work, I've got the rifle.
- 47:49Speaker 2: Great, you guys have a plan. As this little guy's turn,
- 47:54Speaker 2: he only gets I think about this far can't quite
- 47:57Speaker 2: reach Seth. It just kind of rolls around there, looks
- 48:00Speaker 2: it's very pitiful doing it all right, Preva, you're up?
- 48:05Speaker 12: Who what do I do?
- 48:08Speaker 2: You can now you can move thirty feet six squares
- 48:12Speaker 2: or you and then you know you're kind of far away.
- 48:15Speaker 2: If I were to do this again, folks, I would
- 48:16Speaker 2: have put the players closer to the combatants. So yeah,
- 48:21Speaker 2: I'll just have you move up. You probably roll okay, perfect? Nice?
- 48:28Speaker 2: All right, we go back to the top of initiative. Brody,
- 48:31Speaker 2: that's you.
- 48:31Speaker 4: I'm gonna run up and chop up that mushroom that
- 48:34Speaker 4: cow put an arrow in.
- 48:36Speaker 2: Yeah, we look like we're getting our butts handed. Yeah,
- 48:44Speaker 2: a big hole, a little little disarray, Brady, good and
- 48:48Speaker 2: roll that twenty sided die for me. Thirteen thirteen. You
- 48:52Speaker 2: think you add a four, that's a seventeen. You absolutely hit.
- 48:55Speaker 2: Now you're gonna roll that deep the twelve sided die.
- 48:57Speaker 2: They're the one with the pentagon face, and you'ven added
- 48:59Speaker 2: two to.
- 49:00Speaker 8: This twelve plus two?
- 49:02Speaker 2: Nice? Holy cow? Fourteen damage?
- 49:05Speaker 8: That a dead mushroom.
- 49:06Speaker 2: Not quite, he's looking he's looking rough. Now all right,
- 49:15Speaker 2: it is now the cats turn. Oh no, the cat
- 49:20Speaker 2: is going to come out of hiding. Even though it
- 49:23Speaker 2: was spotted by Spencer. It can long jump twenty five feet.
- 49:28Speaker 2: Oh wow. Oh no, it's going to come around the
- 49:31Speaker 2: side here Spencer cancer, and it's going to take an attack.
- 49:41Speaker 2: That is an eighteen spencer. I believe that hits you.
- 49:43Speaker 1: Yeah, it does Oh wow, my armor class is a
- 49:46Speaker 1: fifteen all.
- 49:47Speaker 2: Right, that deals seven damage to you.
- 49:51Speaker 1: Oh so seven off of the fifteen or seven off
- 49:53Speaker 1: of my hit hit points? Okay, so fifteen off of
- 49:57Speaker 1: that you said, Yep, got it?
- 49:59Speaker 11: I have no not fa seven.
- 50:00Speaker 2: Yeah, seven off of your hit points your current hit points?
- 50:04Speaker 1: Got it? So then I'm at seventeen?
- 50:07Speaker 2: Yes, okay, Spencer, it's your turnt.
- 50:12Speaker 1: Okay, I need to wheel around and aimed at this
- 50:14Speaker 1: cat who now like has me in a huge glass
- 50:18Speaker 1: grizzly bear situation, it's like on top of me, and
- 50:22Speaker 1: take aim at it.
- 50:23Speaker 2: Okay, I will say, you have to be to get
- 50:26Speaker 2: proper aim with your rifle. You need to get some
- 50:28Speaker 2: distance on this cat. Otherwise you're gonna be rolling with disadvantage,
- 50:31Speaker 2: which means you roll twice and take the lower number.
- 50:34Speaker 2: If you move out of its attack, it may try
- 50:36Speaker 2: to swipe at you though.
- 50:37Speaker 1: Okay, can I move to the other side of the
- 50:38Speaker 1: tree that we're around? Is that good enough or not? Uh?
- 50:42Speaker 2: Yeah, you can do that, Okay, I will say, the
- 50:45Speaker 2: cat will still take I mean you're still moving out
- 50:47Speaker 2: of his attack, ran, so he's gonna attack you.
- 50:49Speaker 1: M Okay, you know what you've convinced me film going
- 50:51Speaker 1: to move further than I need. Get away from your cat.
- 50:55Speaker 1: Move me. I'm gonna do all thirty. I'm just gonna
- 50:56Speaker 1: get awa. I'm gonna get over in this scrum. I
- 50:58Speaker 1: want to be by these guys. Yeah, yeah, yeah, Okay.
- 51:03Speaker 1: We now have three of our fighters among all of
- 51:06Speaker 1: the mushrooms.
- 51:07Speaker 2: All taking a nap. The cat's gonna again and he
- 51:10Speaker 2: misses when he when you move out of the you
- 51:12Speaker 2: gotta kill that big mushroom, sef. Yeah, but Spencer, you
- 51:17Speaker 2: can still take your action, so you can. You can
- 51:19Speaker 2: shoot at the cat now if you'd like.
- 51:22Speaker 1: I'm going to finish off that big mush there. You
- 51:23Speaker 1: go about, let's do that.
- 51:24Speaker 2: Okay, what happens here, go ahead and take take the show.
- 51:28Speaker 1: D twenty twenty D twenty one. Spencer gave me this rifle.
- 51:37Speaker 2: Now it's gonna be this other big that's so bad.
- 51:40Speaker 1: Maybe I hit someone in our party.
- 51:43Speaker 2: I'm not gonna be that. This mushroom runs over to
- 51:50Speaker 2: I'm gonna say it runs over to Brody. It's that
- 51:54Speaker 2: big axe is freaking him out and he misses. So
- 51:59Speaker 2: now it is seths turn. So what's going on? With
- 52:03Speaker 2: these mushrooms. Now, one there, just pretend all of your
- 52:06Speaker 2: guys looks totally badass standing up and the mushrooms are
- 52:09Speaker 2: coming at you. All right, So what's the mushroom that's
- 52:12Speaker 2: hurt the most, the one with the stem. Yeah, you
- 52:18Speaker 2: can absolutely stab. You can actually stab it twice because you.
- 52:21Speaker 1: Are using SETH. Is gonna Julian the mushroom.
- 52:25Speaker 2: I want to right at the base. All right, go
- 52:27Speaker 2: ahead and roll that that D twenty, the big one
- 52:29Speaker 2: you've been rolling. Can you double the amount of dice
- 52:35Speaker 2: you roll? So, but for a knife, isn't a lot
- 52:38Speaker 2: of dice, but you can attack twice. So you're gonna
- 52:39Speaker 2: roll this really quick, which is a D four D
- 52:46Speaker 2: four Yeah, that's right.
- 52:48Speaker 1: So this is his damage he's doing.
- 52:49Speaker 2: This is his damage he is doing, and he has
- 52:51Speaker 2: to double it only A one that's the tube plus two.
- 52:56Speaker 2: That's four damage. And then you can attack again with
- 52:58Speaker 2: the D twenty, the big one. Roll that again again,
- 53:05Speaker 2: and we're not going to add anything to this one.
- 53:06Speaker 2: That's a two. It's two more damage. Okay, so that
- 53:09Speaker 2: is six damage. He is good. If he takes one
- 53:13Speaker 2: more good hit, he will be toast.
- 53:18Speaker 1: Speaking of toast, we should cook them though, once we
- 53:20Speaker 1: kill one of the absolutely.
- 53:23Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, So now it is the almost dead
- 53:26Speaker 2: mushrooms turn. He is kind of freaked out. I think
- 53:30Speaker 2: he's gonna try to run away from you. Guys. He
- 53:32Speaker 2: is surrounded on all sides, and so seth, you can
- 53:36Speaker 2: take an opportunity attack as he moves away from you
- 53:39Speaker 2: if you if you hit him, you could potentially kill
- 53:43Speaker 2: him if you roll a four, roll the D twenty first.
- 53:46Speaker 2: See if you hit him six. I do not believe
- 53:50Speaker 2: you do. Nope, you miss. But he's still just the
- 53:54Speaker 2: Messroom's gonna run away as far as possible. Cal it's
- 53:57Speaker 2: your turn. Can I shoot that mushroom? Absolutely? Roll the
- 54:00Speaker 2: D twenty shit fire seven seven? Uh you still add
- 54:07Speaker 2: six to that roll because you've got a totally no, no,
- 54:10Speaker 2: you've got the bow. Oh yeah, you add a six
- 54:13Speaker 2: so that that hits. You're gonna roll that D eight
- 54:15Speaker 2: and add two to it. You know, let's see four
- 54:19Speaker 2: six total. He had six hp left, goes through the
- 54:24Speaker 2: cap on his head and he falls limpless.
- 54:26Speaker 1: Can we cook that thing?
- 54:28Speaker 2: We got it one? Uh yeah, we'll put it in the.
- 54:30Speaker 4: Cooler so his minions don't when the leader dies, his
- 54:34Speaker 4: minions don't die apparently.
- 54:35Speaker 2: Not No, but you are aware that the cat is
- 54:37Speaker 2: holding a weird looking ball a goop in its hands
- 54:40Speaker 2: that they have something to do with. I know, but
- 54:43Speaker 2: I felt like we had needed to follow through on
- 54:45Speaker 2: what we started. Honestly, I'm as smart as that mushroom
- 54:48Speaker 2: could have really messed you guys up. Okay, there we go.
- 54:52Speaker 2: It is now the sad little mushrooms.
- 54:56Speaker 11: Turn snort up too. She's been chilling.
- 54:59Speaker 2: Seeing it's it's dad, yes, Nor it is just kind
- 55:02Speaker 2: of staring there. Okay, Diary, it's Dad die and know's
- 55:11Speaker 2: going to take revenge, but is going to come after
- 55:13Speaker 2: Spencer because it is the closest target missus. Okay, it
- 55:19Speaker 2: is now Shelby's turn.
- 55:22Speaker 10: Okay, I can't really attack with anything except spells, so
- 55:27Speaker 10: could I do vicious mockery?
- 55:30Speaker 2: Yes? Vicious mockery is a lot of fun, and basically
- 55:33Speaker 2: you just make fun of the enemy and make them
- 55:35Speaker 2: feel bad about them.
- 55:37Speaker 10: You up, you tasty little mushrooms. We're going to fry
- 55:40Speaker 10: you in a pan and gobble you down.
- 55:47Speaker 2: Which mushroom you're you gonna attack.
- 55:49Speaker 10: The one that's closest to me? I guess the guy
- 55:53Speaker 10: going after Brody.
- 55:56Speaker 2: The the big one. Great, he makes his saving throw.
- 56:03Speaker 2: Uh so yeah, I believe it does not do anything.
- 56:08Speaker 11: Okay, well I just made fun of a mushroom for fun.
- 56:12Speaker 2: Okay, still he's still blushing. Uh this little guy, here's
- 56:17Speaker 2: the other little guy here he is he is going
- 56:20Speaker 2: to attack Seth because he's right. There's why not and
- 56:27Speaker 2: uh Seth and missus Seth again, these guys are not rolling. Great, Reva,
- 56:30Speaker 2: it's your turn, Reva. Go chap that kitty's pow.
- 56:35Speaker 8: Yeah, someone's got to engage the big bed.
- 56:38Speaker 12: And think's the machetes job?
- 56:41Speaker 2: Yeah exactly.
- 56:42Speaker 7: I was thinking the mushrooms sounded good for the machete sacrifice.
- 56:47Speaker 2: No, I can give you. Can I give Riva a
- 56:50Speaker 2: potion of invulnerability? Absolutely you can. You can drink that
- 56:54Speaker 2: as a bonus action, Riva, so you can still do
- 56:55Speaker 2: your whole turn if you'd like to. You can. It
- 56:57Speaker 2: means you take half damage for the rest of the fight.
- 56:59Speaker 2: But yeah, kill that cat, that's the deal.
- 57:04Speaker 12: Okay, let's go for it.
- 57:05Speaker 2: All right. Riva drinks the potion. She's feeling her her
- 57:08Speaker 2: skin quadruples in thickness. It's really weird. She looks swollen,
- 57:14Speaker 2: and then she charges the cat. Riva. Go ahead and
- 57:16Speaker 2: roll that D twenty for me. You're adding a four
- 57:21Speaker 2: to this roll eight plus four twelve twelve and you're
- 57:24Speaker 2: attacking the lion. Are you going for the paw or
- 57:27Speaker 2: the lion or the cat in general? Go for the throat,
- 57:34Speaker 2: get the paw.
- 57:35Speaker 12: Let's go for the paw.
- 57:36Speaker 2: Okay you do? Miss Oh sorry, Reva. I'm all right, Brodie,
- 57:43Speaker 2: you're up.
- 57:46Speaker 4: I can't move far enough to run over there and
- 57:48Speaker 4: attack that cat, can I?
- 57:51Speaker 2: Oh? Where are you right here?
- 57:56Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 57:56Speaker 2: He's got it all right.
- 57:58Speaker 8: I'm gonna yeah, you got Oh, yeah.
- 58:01Speaker 1: I'm gonna The cat's brought side to him.
- 58:04Speaker 2: There you are. Go ahead and roll that D twenty
- 58:06Speaker 2: Brody nineteen. Oh, that absolutely hits. You're gonna roll that
- 58:11Speaker 2: D twelve. You're gonna add two to this role, and Brody,
- 58:14Speaker 2: I will say that something about the magic in the
- 58:16Speaker 2: air and watching snort just kind of skinny and lifeless
- 58:21Speaker 2: on the other side of the cavern gives you a
- 58:22Speaker 2: sense of rage you haven't felt in a long time.
- 58:24Speaker 2: You add two to this damage role? Yeah, six six
- 58:29Speaker 2: plus two or is that with the plus two?
- 58:31Speaker 8: No, it's six total, so six plus two.
- 58:33Speaker 2: But I'm gonna you get to add another plus plus
- 58:36Speaker 2: two plus another two, so that's eight. Don't worry about it.
- 58:41Speaker 2: I'm doing the math. The cat takes eight damage. Nice,
- 58:51Speaker 2: all right, It is now the cat's turn. He was
- 58:54Speaker 2: not very happy about this, Brod. He's gonna swipe at
- 58:56Speaker 2: you twice. Okay, can handle this is the first one?
- 59:00Speaker 2: Oh good, second one hits Uh, there's nenty eight alright,
- 59:12Speaker 2: deals six points of damage to Brody and go ahead,
- 59:14Speaker 2: take away six points from your hits points.
- 59:19Speaker 1: That was the cat's turn.
- 59:20Speaker 2: That was the cat's turn. Spencer, euroupe Brody twenty one.
- 59:24Speaker 1: These mushrooms are lined up. Nice. I'm gonna try to
- 59:26Speaker 1: shoot both of them. I could with one shot. I could.
- 59:29Speaker 1: I think I could get both.
- 59:30Speaker 2: Absolutely can shot. You want to see you want to
- 59:33Speaker 2: move around one?
- 59:35Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 59:35Speaker 2: Those two?
- 59:36Speaker 1: I want to shoot both of them. I mean if
- 59:37Speaker 1: I could probably move back here and go for a
- 59:39Speaker 1: three fur.
- 59:41Speaker 2: Yeah make that John Spencer, Yeah, yeah, I'm allowing all
- 59:46Speaker 2: three mushrooms.
- 59:46Speaker 1: It's like imagine three Canadian peace, like a roll with advantage.
- 59:51Speaker 11: Because he's the the sig Champ two. Maybe we're getting
- 59:55Speaker 11: squirrely here, don't get greedy.
- 59:59Speaker 2: Backs up a line. I will say this is a
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: very important role though, But Spencer, I will say same
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: thing with Brody, something about what's going on in this
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: cabin right now? You mark these prey, I would say,
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: one of them you can add. You can roll a
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: D six to add to the damage. Roll, but first
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: let's see if you.
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: Hit, so roll the D twenty. The D twenty is
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: a twelve plus four sixteen.
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: You hit every single one with a single bullet. Oh right,
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: what's the damage? Die on their spencer. I'm sorry for
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: the for the rifle.
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: Oh it's plus four.
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: Oh yeah, no, you hit I mean the the damage.
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: So you're gonna roll a D ten because I don't
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: think you've hit anything. It is your first time. You're
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: gonna add a D ten. You're gonna add a two
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: to this six thirty six, and then you're gonna add
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: the normal die the D six six twelve damage. These
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: little guys vaporized. Yeah, two of.
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: The three mushrooms have just died on the battlefield, and the.
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: Other one is looking rough.
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: Cow here out wounded.
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: I'm gonna shoot that cat in the eyeball. Yeah, great,
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: go ahead and roll the big guy, the big die.
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: Oh oh four, Yeah, that's not gonna hit hit Brody,
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: I hit other dios, this guy, this guy totally dead, Shelby,
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: it's your turn.
- 1:01:19Speaker 11: Okay, we're getting down there.
- 1:01:22Speaker 10: I'm gonna try vicious mockery again on this this medium
- 1:01:26Speaker 10: sized mushroom. Uh, my husband just vaporized your buddies and
- 1:01:31Speaker 10: now we're gonna eat you.
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: Great, he hates it, unfortunately, he saves. Oh sorry, Shelly,
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: it's a good mushroom. You're up.
- 1:01:44Speaker 12: Okay, let's let's go after the cat again.
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: Do it?
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: Roll the big die seven seven, you add a four
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: to that, I believe. So you do not hit but
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: something you feel like you might be able to swing again.
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: It's called an action surge nineteen that absolutely hits. So
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: you're gonna roll the damage that. You're gonna roll a
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: D six and you're going to add two to this. Yeah,
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: that's three damage. The cat is looking rough, all right,
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: mangy Brodie, you're up.
- 1:02:25Speaker 8: Is he still holding those slugs?
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: Absolutely?
- 1:02:27Speaker 8: I want to chop the hand off. That's hold all right.
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: I will say you need to head a fifteen to
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: chop the hand off.
- 1:02:33Speaker 8: I can do it.
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: Let's go. Oh yep, it's not gonna do it.
- 1:02:40Speaker 8: Uh.
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: Who is up next? It is the cat's turn, Brody.
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: He doesn't like you. He's gonna swing you again. That misses,
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: that hits you take four damage. I'm still good it.
- 1:02:55Speaker 11: Brody's tough.
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: This is spencer.
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: My turn. Okay, I'm gonna I'm gonna turn from where
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: I'm standing and fire at the cat with my three
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: oh eight.
- 1:03:06Speaker 8: Don't hit me, Spencer, you haven't been hit much lately.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: Sixteen. That hits plus four, so that twenty.
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: Then roll your damage die which is the eight or
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: the ten? That's a ten yet one? Dang you guys
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: are really but then you add away yes, and you
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: know what, I will let you move the your your
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: hunter's mark to the cat, so you can add a
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: d six to this as well.
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: Okay, so I'm rolling a regular dice A five.
- 1:03:36Speaker 12: There you go.
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: Yeah, So what's the total? There?
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: Oh six total?
- 1:03:40Speaker 10: No?
- 1:03:40Speaker 11: No, no, no, no, plus two eight?
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: Cool about This cat is bleeding and looking horrible.
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: It's been shot in the liver.
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: He's sick. Yes, Who is up next? It is this
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: mushroom's turn, who's not looking great? But it's to come
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: after Seth and is going to try to stun you. Seth.
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: I need you to make a roll this the D twenty.
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: You're going to add a number to it. Go ahead
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: and roll it first. You don't even need to add
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: the number. You succeed. You tried to. You see a
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: puff of spores come out of the mushroom. Oh, and
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: you hold your breath and turn your head, and you
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: do not inhale. Maybe it's time to billow your cloak dramatically.
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: What's that do? You'll have to when you use a
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: bonus action and do it.
- 1:04:35Speaker 8: You got it.
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: You throw on the cloak, and seemingly from out of nowhere,
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: a magical gust of wind rolls behind you, whips the coat,
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: makes a cracking noise, and this mushroom falls down prone. Yeah,
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: knocked him out, Number one stunner. It's not dead. It's
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: just lying down, which means whoever attacks it next gets
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: advantage with a melee weapon. The radio life sounds again.
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: I apologize that sounded that mushroom and distress cow. You're
- 1:05:09Speaker 2: up shooting the cat. Shoot the cat.
- 1:05:11Speaker 11: Cow.
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: If you shoot this cat is dead. I will let
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: you know that right now. Three. Unfortunately, the handslam.
- 1:05:23Speaker 8: You know cow with them trad bows. The idea is
- 1:05:26Speaker 8: to get close first, you might, you might get closer.
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: It's a big kitty.
- 1:05:32Speaker 10: Okay, Well, I don't have a melee weapon, so I'm
- 1:05:36Speaker 10: just gonna let someone else finish off that mushroom.
- 1:05:38Speaker 11: And can I do dissonant whispers on the cat?
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:05:42Speaker 11: Yeah, do it?
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: Do it? So let's see. I think this cat needs
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: to make a wisdom saving through. A saving throw is
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: a roll of the dyeing which someone is something or
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: someone is trying to protect itself. Save it, throw and
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: eye to save yourself. Okay, thirteen, it succeeds, Sam. Sorry,
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: I'm just these monsters are rolling pretty well when they're
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: trying to defend against things. Yeah, Reva, you're up, Come on, Reva.
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: One more hit on that cat, feel declared.
- 1:06:12Speaker 12: Okay, okay, let's go for it. Get him two.
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: Not gonna do it, Brody.
- 1:06:21Speaker 8: First off, I'm gonna sut down this potion of healing.
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: Do it so you need well, I need a four
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: year roll two deep roll twice an attitude to it.
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: And that's how much help you get back. That's four
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: nice plus seven get seven health points back. I'm right back,
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: where I start, and that's only a bonus action. So
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: if you'd like to, uh, come at this cat again,
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: you may do so.
- 1:06:44Speaker 8: Oh yeah, I'm going I'm gonna chop his hand off.
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: Right, give me a t twenty year roll? Oh god,
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: but you but I think you get to add some
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: stuff to that.
- 1:06:56Speaker 8: How do you tell if it's a nine or six?
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: If the if the period is the period shows you
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: like the end of the sentence there, so if it's at.
- 1:07:04Speaker 8: The bottine plus, what do I add?
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: Hit this with the axe? You add a force? That's
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: a thirteen? Are you going for the hand or the body?
- 1:07:13Speaker 8: Let's just finish him off? Just anywhere I can hit him.
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: You raise your axe, and Brody described to me how
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: you destroy this cat?
- 1:07:22Speaker 4: Who has bank wishes the term I prefer, Yeah, who
- 1:07:27Speaker 4: took our snort?
- 1:07:28Speaker 8: Girl prisoner yep is off with his head? Can we
- 1:07:32Speaker 8: take his head off?
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: Definitely?
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: Brody swung.
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: Kap at that. The ball of leeches rolls out of
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: the paw, The mushrooms fall limp and lifeless, and Snort
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: seems to come back to attention. She hears the whistle
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: runs to you with a fervor you've only seen maybe
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: once or twice on a god on a good bird
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: hunting day, dinner or dinner time, something else on your comforter.
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: At the death of the cat, you hear a rumbling
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: up above you. You see a bunch of morell looking
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: fun guys fall from the ceiling. Boy, they're not that heavy.
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: One even hits Shelby on the head and she barely
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: feels it. But they all open. A crevice opens from
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: their sort of body and just shrieks whoa probably thirty
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: or forty mushrooms screaming at some sort of banshee whale.
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: It is deafening. It shakes the cavern. Rocks start to collapse.
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: What are you gonna do? Grab and head for the skiff. Yeah,
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: we're going fishing the skiff. Good tagline, That is good.
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: You all spread down the trail. You get back to
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: the rope. The cow shot across the canyon. You make
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: your way across. The cavern is collapsing before you and
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: you get back and you see the hole that he
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: came out of. You can't get back up. Snory with
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: some residual magic she still has left in heir barks
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: and the appears. You guys are looking out the bottom
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: of the meat eater freezer at the ceiling. What do
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: you do? Can we flip the skiff over and see
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: if the fish filazer? And you run back to the
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: skin and whip it over. Oh like there's a basket
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: of redfish and drum and and you take it. You
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: go back across and then you've jumped through the pearl.
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: You all come pouring out back into the meat eater kitchen.
- 1:09:36Speaker 2: Uh where clay and Chester covered ice cream? That's right,
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: you covered in blood and weird fungal grows and Clay
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: and Chester covered and ice cream look at you completely bewildered.
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: Clay turns to you and goes, what the and then
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: you all, uh, it's it's insane to Clay explains that
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: you you jump down there and came back only seconds later.
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: Time must move more weird in that realm, and that
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: describes why I just STEVIEX.
- 1:10:09Speaker 8: Found your fish perfect.
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: At that moment, you hear kind of some quick footsteps
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: coming down the hallway and you see Corrin and she's
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: holding a kennel and she looks at you panics and goes,
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: has anyone seen my cat? And that's all for this
