- Lucas: Hey there, welcome back to Learn Spanish with Fexingo! I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna! Episode 79, can you believe it? Lucas: I know, right? Feels like just yesterday we were counting to ten. Luna: Oh, I still remember those. Uno, dos, tres... okay, I got it. Lucas: So today, we're going to a hotel — checking in. You've got your suitcase, you've traveled, and now you need to say, 'I have a reservation.' Luna: Ooh, that's a good one. How do you say it? Lucas: Tengo una reserva. Let's say it together: Tengo una reserva. Luna: Tengo una reserva. Yeah, that's got a nice ring to it. Lucas: Exactly. So you walk up to the front desk and say, 'Hola, tengo una reserva.' Luna: Hola, tengo una reserva. Simple and clear. Lucas: Now the receptionist might ask for your name, but then they'll tell you your room number. You can ask, '¿Cuál es mi habitación?' — which is 'What is my room?' Luna: ¿Cuál es mi habitación? That's a mouthful. Let me try: ¿Cuál es mi habitación? Lucas: Perfect. And the answer might be, 'La habitación es en el segundo piso.' That means 'The room is on the second floor.' Luna: La habitación es en el segundo piso. So segundo is second? Lucas: You got it. And piso means floor or story. So if they say 'en el segundo piso', you know to head to the second floor. Luna: Got it. Okay, what about the wifi? I always need that. Lucas: That's key. You can ask, '¿Cuál es la contraseña del wifi?' — 'What is the wifi password?' Luna: ¿Cuál es la contraseña del wifi? Hmm. Contraseña is password? Lucas: Yes. And wifi is the same in Spanish, just pronounced wee-fee. Luna: Wee-fee, got it. So, ¿Cuál es la contraseña del wifi? Lucas: Perfect. And finally, when they give you your key — 'Aquí está la llave.' Here is the key. Luna: Aquí está la llave. Llave, that's key. Lucas: Yep. So let's put it together. Imagine you're at the front desk. You say, 'Hola, tengo una reserva.' Luna: Hola, tengo una reserva. Lucas: They tell you your room, and you say, 'Gracias. ¿Cuál es mi habitación?' Luna: Gracias. Lucas: And they give you the key: 'Aquí está la llave.' Luna: Aquí está la llave. I love it. I feel like I could actually check in now. Lucas: That's the goal. And hey, speaking of making things possible — you know, we get to make these episodes because some listeners chip in. Luna: Yeah, it's true. So thank you to those who do. Luna: Absolutely. And now, back to the hotel. So let's practice the whole thing once more. Lucas: I'll be the receptionist. You're the guest. Ready? Luna: Ready. Lucas: Buenas tardes. ¿Tiene una reserva? Luna: Sí, tengo una reserva. Lucas: Muy bien. Su habitación es en el segundo piso. Luna: Gracias. ¿Cuál es la contraseña del wifi? Lucas: La contraseña es '1234fexingo'. Luna: Perfecto. Y, ¿aquí está la llave? Lucas: Aquí está la llave. Disfrute su estancia. Luna: Oh, that went so smoothly! I'm proud of myself. Lucas: You should be. That was great. Now you have the phrases to check into any hotel in Spanish. Luna: I'm definitely using this next time I travel. Thanks, Lucas. Lucas: You're welcome. And thanks to all of you for listening. Practice these phrases, and we'll see you next time. Luna: ¡Hasta luego!
