- 2:35of stuff to get to this morning. There's some things in the news.
- 2:38I gotta try try to stay away from news on Friday if I can,
- 2:42but there's been some some things that I gotta cover, including They'll get Kaylee
- 2:46Young, who was on this show two days ago, took to X last
- 2:51night saying that it is a time to for President Biden to step aside,
- 2:58and I'm going to talk about that a little bit, a little bit later.
- 3:00Plus, last night was the final night of the Republican National Convention.
- 3:05Donald Trump spoke for seven days. He's still speaking. I think as as
- 3:10I speak, he's still speaking. I think, Uh, what we're going
- 3:13to talk is I said about several things. Today. We get Hannah Gardner
- 3:15standing by, but I have a guest with me. I'm kind of co
- 3:19host of me today, my good friend Morgan Robinson. How are you?
- 3:21I'm will How are you? Yeah? I'm doing well. You're you're all
- 3:24excited about being here, right, I'm excited to be here. I'm very
- 3:27impressed the fact that I don't think you took a breath during that entire opening.
- 3:31Well, if you consider deep sea diving, I think you'd be great
- 3:34at it. Only at buffets, and it's only place you're ever going to
- 3:37see me. Yeah, let's go to Hannah Gardner with our adopt me please
- 3:43pedal the week. Hannah, good morning, welcome to the show. Hello,
- 3:46are you doing to find? Morgan Robinson is with me? I think
- 3:49you know Morgan you well, Morgan was on the show before Hannah, so
- 3:53so earlier and she's also a big animal person too, animal person. And
- 4:00all three of our dogs are rescue from the CANA Charleston Humane Association. We
- 4:04call them the rat Pack with affection because their combined weight is forty two pounds
- 4:11of all three of them. Really yes, yes, yeah, they think
- 4:15they're pibbles, but they are chuaha mixes. So yeah, loudest house and
- 4:19cross legs handah. Before I get to our pad of the week, and
- 4:24as always picture we post it is posted now Dave Allen Radio on Facebook and
- 4:28the Dave v. Allen Show at Dave Somebody on x the artist formerly known
- 4:30as Twitter. I want to talk about this tattoo event that you had in
- 4:34Tayese Valley this week. Talk about that. Yeah, so I believe that
- 4:40they're stretching it throughout the weekend. However, yesterday when we were there,
- 4:44we had the caravan out there, some puppies, we had two adoptions,
- 4:47and then the tax Foo shop itself. They had people that were in line.
- 4:53I think at one point they had a four hour weight like, there
- 4:56was a lot of people there. They had like thank maybe like the for
- 5:00seven pages of names on a list, so they definitely did great on their
- 5:04part and as well as our part as well, So it was just an
- 5:08all around great day and explain to the listeners exactly what they were doing there,
- 5:11what the special of the special hook was there. Yeah, so they
- 5:16were doing forty dollars flash tattoos and it was kind of like a benefit that
- 5:23helps KCHA. So we were also there yesterday. We're not going to be
- 5:28there, I don't think throughout the rest of the time, however, I'm
- 5:31sure we will stop in here and there, and we will probably bring probably
- 5:36a lot of our staff members there as well, so that way they can
- 5:40get in on the awesome deal that they're doing there as well. So definitely
- 5:43stop out there and get your tattoo and help support KCHA at the same time.
- 5:46And it's on tes Valley Road, right, yes, it is.
- 5:50It is on T's Valley Road and it's right there in the little shop.
- 5:55We also posted it on our Facebook page as well yesterday. It is Night
- 6:00Tattoo and we are very very thankful for them. They were very very nice
- 6:03and helpful. Yesterday as well. I got a text here for you from
- 6:08my good friend Johnny Rutherford from Metro nine one one who said Metro nine to
- 6:12one one adopted a dog from them. We love Pip. He's a therapy
- 6:15dog for this therapy dog for dispatchers. That's amazing, and they need one
- 6:19with that tough job. Oh my gosh, how cool is that him?
- 6:24That is awesome. I actually love to Pip myself. I really want to
- 6:28Tip on my own. So I love that they still have my love that
- 6:30he is doing great there, and I've also heard great things about him as
- 6:35well, So I'm just very happy that he went so good and very helpful
- 6:40area. And that's what we're hoping to do today for our Dog of the
- 6:44week, Tordellini. Tordellini is the dog's name. I don't even when I
- 6:48first started doing this segment, I would ask why where did that name come
- 6:51from? And when you have the volume of animals that they have up there,
- 6:55you don't have an opportunity to say, you know how you know they're
- 7:00just looking at it out of the sky. Yeah, you know. But
- 7:02Tordellini is a beautiful, beautiful dog. Give us the lowdown on Tourdellini.
- 7:06Hannah, All right, well, she is actually really, really really sweet.
- 7:12I love her so much. She's been in the back office with me
- 7:15for a few days. But she's about two years old. She is fixed
- 7:19already, and she does have a sponsored adoption fee, so if you are
- 7:25interested in her, you can definitely come out look at her, meet her,
- 7:28take her on a walk. You could take her for a doggy day
- 7:30out if you need to. You could even foster her for a few days
- 7:33and see if it works in your home. However, I will vouch that
- 7:38she is a very good girl. She prefers calmer dog so dogs that aren't
- 7:43super hyperactive. However, she is pretty playful herself, wants to get the
- 7:46toys out and stuff because she definitely loves the suff speaky toys. But she
- 7:53does walk well on the leash. She's very very easy going on it,
- 7:57and we consider her a social butterfly just because she does love everybody that walks
- 8:03in the doors. She has kind of a little shay looking at first.
- 8:07She definitely miss you for a second, but she is super sweet. I
- 8:13mean, she opens up to you rather quickly and she's just a good all
- 8:16around dog in my opinion. But she is in playgroups and like I said,
- 8:22she is fine with the other dog. She just preferres calmer dogs as
- 8:26she is kind of calmer herself. Like I said, she just really plays
- 8:31with the toys and stuff and she absolutely loves playing it with you. So
- 8:35throw a toy in the yard and she will be the dog for you.
- 8:39And she's pretty good with kids too, right, Yeah, So from what
- 8:43we know, and I always say this every single time, and I will
- 8:46always continue to say, but even if we have noticed that they're good with
- 8:50kids, we always advise caution. We always tell everybody, you know,
- 8:54it's good to keep teach your kids boundaries as well. It is to keep
- 8:58teach the dog bound. But in our character has been good with kids and
- 9:03she I honestly believe she would be the greatest family dogs. Love it,
- 9:09beautiful dog. And again I've got the picture posted on Dave Allen Radio on
- 9:13Facebook and The Day Valan Show on Twitter x. The Day Valin Show on
- 9:18five vide Live is brought to you a part by Hustands Pizza. This month,
- 9:20at your favorite Hussan's, order any regularly priced large eighteen inch pizza and
- 9:24get a two liter pepsi at no additional charge. You folks at the at
- 9:28the Humane Association are now kind of undergoing what's known as capacity crisis. It's
- 9:35a crisis right now with the amount of animals that you have their hand to
- 9:37talk about that. Yeah, so we have been kind of at capacity for
- 9:43a while now. We have just been managing and we've been doing our best
- 9:48to be able to still take in any straight animal that comes in, as
- 9:52well as helping any stick and injured ones. We've been doing the best that
- 9:58we can. However, to the point, it's just so much that we
- 10:03are looking for spaces to put dogs really, so it's just a lot right
- 10:07now, and ways that you could help is adopting, of course, is
- 10:11always the biggest way to help. So if you do have that extra space
- 10:16in your home, if you have, even if it's not permanently, but
- 10:20it's temporarily, because you can foster. We have a lot of dogs that
- 10:24would go very well in a foster program. So even for a night,
- 10:28a weekend, a week it kind of just gets from the break from the
- 10:31shelter life, and it also improves like their mental health as well from what
- 10:35we have noticed, and it's less thans their stress that even come back to
- 10:39the shelter. A lot of people think that it would just stress them out
- 10:41even more, and you know there are some dogs that it does, but
- 10:46most of the dogs when you take them out, it actually we learn more
- 10:48about them. You learn more about them, they get their name out there
- 10:52if you post them on your own, and it also just helps them for
- 10:56the chance of an adoption and a lot of that. Earlier this week when
- 11:01the power went out, it looks like the community really stepped up, was
- 11:03able to take over some of the dogs since it was so hot. Can
- 11:07you talk more about that. Yes, we are, of course always very
- 11:11appreciative of the community. They always seem to step up whenever we are in
- 11:16urgent need, and they've already been stepping up during our time through this capacity
- 11:22crisis that we're having, So we definitely have had quite a few people fostering
- 11:26already. But it is very tough and the situation that we're in now because
- 11:31we are adopting out a good bit as well as fostering a good bit,
- 11:35and we are still taking in a good bit. So that's why I think
- 11:37that we kind of have cut back to sicken, injured and takes only at
- 11:41the moment for dogs, So I know that we have. Of course,
- 11:46we would usually be able to house a little bit more without the whole uhault
- 11:50situation that we had. But I think right now we have like one hundred
- 11:54and twenty one or a little more maybe dogs in our care in the facility
- 12:01right now, of course, we have a little bit more. I think
- 12:03we have over three hundred forum animals total. That's in the shelter and in
- 12:07foster home. So again, the community always helped out and we are very
- 12:11thankful for them. And they still did an amazing, amazing thing during that
- 12:16power outage as well. We loved that and we're very appreciative of that.
- 12:20Well, we're impressed with you and we are always here to support you.
- 12:24Thank you so much, Hannah from the Canal Charleston Humane Association. We love
- 12:28talking to you every Friday and love featuring those dogs of the week, including
- 12:31miss Tordalini this week. All right, Hannah, we'll talk to you next
- 12:35week. I appreciate it. Thanks a lot. Thank you Toordellini. Morgan
- 12:41two years old, already Spade. All the vaccines are up to date,
- 12:45sweetest most well behaved girl around everybody, kid friendly, walks well on the
- 12:50leash, prefers calmer dogs. And I didn't know if you know this reference,
- 12:56but when I first saw when Hannah sent me the picture. Anna sends
- 12:58me the picture like midnight. Yeah, I didn't see that. I saw
- 13:01it like at five point thirty this morning. But I saw the first thing
- 13:03I thought was if you put a ring around that dog's eye, that's Pete.
- 13:09It's Peedy from the Little Rascal book. It's exactly pd And she was
- 13:13exactly right. She just looks like a good family dog, a dog that
- 13:16you can be having a cookout in the backyard, throw the toys, the
- 13:20kids are enjoying it, and she's just a sweet, sweet girl that needs
- 13:22a loving home. And you can again go over to my social media and
- 13:26take a look at Tordellini and let's get Tordellini adopted. Let's have Tordellini Friday.
- 13:31That's on. We're gonna have Jim Strawn, who may or may not
- 13:35have eaten Toardeline, not the dog, but the dish. Say this is
- 13:39getting very deep, very dark. A couple of times. We're gonna talk
- 13:41to Strawn cover it up in a couple moments. Joe garn from The Dirty

- 17:26yes, No I right. Season twenty, Week number eight of the Moses
- 17:29Auto Group Live on the Levee should be a fantastic night down there. It's
- 17:33week number eight. We've had some great music all summer long. Tonight will
- 17:37be no different. At six thirty taking center stage on the show and bomb
- 17:41stage, we'll be Brenna and the Boys, a little cosmic Appalachian artist from
- 17:45here in Appalachian in West Virginia. She'll sing and play for about an hour.
- 17:48Then at seven point thirty Jocelyn and the Sweet Compression out of Lexington,
- 17:52Kentucky. So we have a little Appalachian flavor tonight, but it's Appalachia mixed
- 17:56in with some R and B and some rock and folk and just a lot
- 18:00of fun, very talented. We also do this for fun, but we
- 18:06do it for a cause. Liv A Levey's great fun for a great cause.
- 18:08We help those five inner city charities each and every Friday night. We've

- 18:29We hope that you guys will come down. You mentioned it. I'm
- 18:30going to sneak out of here. But not only is you know Moses.
- 18:33Every night every Friday is the Moses Auto Group Night. And I want to
- 18:37thank the Health Plan and Brewer and Company, lou Wendell Fox eleven Tab eight
- 18:42WWK Tonight, it's also going to be Bridge Valley and Community Technical night,
- 18:48and it's going to be B one hundred night, our sister station here,
- 18:51and it's going to be a Deco night. A Deco has been one of
- 18:53our major sponsors all year. New to the Levee, new to the Charleston
- 18:57area. So I've got some folks here. I'm going to sneak out Morgan
- 19:00and Dave so I can keep the show going by not breaking everything. You've
- 19:07a computer? Is it gone? I have no texts? It's still gone.
- 19:11Yeah, So I'll text you privately. I'll get that number out privately.
- 19:15Let's all that. Good to see you, so good to see Dave.
- 19:19I know it was good to see me. It's gonna it's be great
- 19:22to see leave. And I want to turn it over to my mic.
- 19:26All right, the rest of the show. Thank you so much. Jim
- 19:30works out to you tonight on the levee. Safe travels today as you travel
- 19:33with the Senator now, Miss Shelley, as we are still making waves in
- 19:37the studio, Love you. Jim. Tell us a little bit about why
- 19:41DECRA finds it important to support community events like Live on the Levee. That
- 19:47first of all, thank you for having me. My name is Shelly,
- 19:48Gilligan and I'm an on site manager here for a DECO, and we felt
- 19:53that it was important to become a gold level sponsor this year because we just
- 19:57reopened our branch Low caterd at six zero two Virginia Street, Suite one hundred
- 20:03and one after several years of being closed after the pandemic, and we've reopened
- 20:08that branch. We wanted to get back into the community, make sure that
- 20:11we are visible to all of our associates and our customers. What is a
- 20:15DECO? I have asked that question. You haven't asked that question. A
- 20:18great question. So a DECO is the leading global staffing solutions provider. Okay,
- 20:26all right? And what kind of work? I mean, I understand
- 20:30what you're saying about what you do as far as staffing, but for what
- 20:33kinds of jobs? What kinds of services? We work with a variety of
- 20:37customers right now, we're looking for several entry level positions in light industrial production
- 20:45work, clerical, administrative, and professional, so you really work with both
- 20:49sides. If you're interested in finding a job, you can help out,
- 20:52but if you're also looking to fill positions in your own organization, they can
- 20:56work with you to do that right, that's correct, Morgan, that's exactly
- 20:59what we do. We we work with both employers and job seekers. And
- 21:03how the world did you get hooked up with Jim Strown? Do you have
- 21:07any IT people, because apparently after Hurricane Strawn just rolled through this, we're
- 21:12gonna have to have IT people in here now. We definitely have some IT
- 21:15people that can help you eaving to borrow that. Yes, but his reference
- 21:19to Borned China Shop is exactly on point. Yeah, with how you met
- 21:25him. He rolled into a deco just like that. Yeah, So what
- 21:27we decided to do was, once we decided to be a gold sponsor for
- 21:32Live on the Levee, we connected with Jim and he's really helped facilitate us,
- 21:37you know, getting our name out and coming back into the community.
- 21:40That's wonderful. Well, we're excited to have you. Are you all going
- 21:42to be on site tonight giving more information about your services? Yep, that's
- 21:48we are. We're going to be at Live on the Levee in the not
- 21:52in the concourse, but down on the main stage with our mobile job van.
- 21:55We're going to have a variety of people there. We can take customer
- 21:59requis if anybody would like to come down and learn a little bit more about
- 22:02a DECO from a customer standpoint and what they're looking for. And then we're
- 22:06also going to be able to take mobile applications on site at the levee.
- 22:10We also have some great giveaways planned, so we encourage to come down.

- 24:55even go to see Tony the Taylor because he's close for vacation. Yeah,
- 24:57we've really cut off all lines the communication here. We're on an island to
- 25:03ourselves. It's like nineteen eighty seven again. You can hear us, but
- 25:06we can't hear you. Well, eighty eight is the year I started radio.
- 25:08So Ryan, if you could just go upstairs and get me a couple
- 25:11turntables and a couple of cart machines and a reel to reel and I'll be
- 25:14good to go here for it. Yeah. Yeah, that's all. I
- 25:15learned how to spice radio in college. Give me the little razorblade and the
- 25:19tape, and I'm here to do it. And Ryan's probably thinking, what
- 25:22are you people talking about? I think I just grew a new gray hair,
- 25:26Morgan. I want to spend a little time talking to you this morning
- 25:30because we get Joe Gear from The Dirty Birds coming up a little bit later
- 25:32on, and also we're going to talk about the water days event, lad
- 25:34Lee Field. But that voice you've been hearing throughout the morning is my co
- 25:37host this morning, Morgan Robinson. What's Morgan Robinson been up too lately?
- 25:41Listen. I've been traveling this beautiful state of ours, the beautiful Mountain state.
- 25:45So I have my company focused marketing company, and we've been doing a
- 25:48lot of presenting and facilitating throughout the state and I'm talking from the Panhandle to
- 25:52the coal fields and everywhere in between, working with some amazing groups in the
- 25:57state of West Virginia on improving communication, improving their leadership styles, getting the
- 26:03name out about their companies and organizations, and just having a great time through
- 26:07it. Though I've been able to watch as the Cheat River lowers every day
- 26:11with this drought that we've had, which is crazy crazy, So hoping and
- 26:15praying for some rain for everybody, especially up in the Panhandle area that's been
- 26:21so so dry as of late. But having a great time. Excited to
- 26:23have Jill on with us this morning. I'm working with the Dirty Birds on
- 26:27the Woman Making a Difference night that's going to be taking place next week.
- 26:30Just getting out and going everywhere, enjoying this beautiful weather that we're having I
- 26:37say that with sarcasm since it's been hotter than the face of the sun.
- 26:41But yeah, having a great time. And on a personal note, I'll
- 26:42say that my twenty year old twins are in from WVU, so we have
- 26:48been enjoying having the kids back in the house again. And can we give
- 26:52a big shout out to Ryan Nicholson. Yes, Ryan the man, the
- 26:56myth, the legend that just came in and got us back into the twenty
- 26:57first century. Well, not quite there. I'm gonna have to see.
- 27:02I'll have to do a couple of things to get there. But we're getting
- 27:03close. We're gonna cloth We're closer than than what we were, all right.

- 27:34it and mentioned it earlier in the show. Delegate Kayla Young of Kanaw County,
- 27:40who was just on the show a couple of days ago. Delegate Young
- 27:42announcing on social media last night that it is time for President Biden to step
- 27:48aside as the presumptive Democratic nominating and that has created quite a stir And let
- 27:55me get to the actual statement here from Kaylee Young. It says, twenty
- 28:00twenty four election will define the future of American democracy. I cannot stand idly
- 28:03by without voicing my concern that the National Democratic Party is on the wrong path.
- 28:10President Biden is a true public servant and the sacrifices he has made for
- 28:12our nation are deeply appreciated. However, it is time for change. Our
- 28:17nation and democracy require it. I urged the President to take advantage of this
- 28:22window of time prior to the Democratic National Convention to withdraw from the presidential race
- 28:26and to allow new energetic leadership to take the range through a robust convention process
- 28:33with no shortcuts. West Virginians and Americans are not satisfied with the status quo.
- 28:37Nor should they be our generation and beyond to deserve a country that works
- 28:41for us and listens to our voice and isn't politically motivated, but motivated to
- 28:44put our country in communities first. The Democratic nominee must have the confidence of
- 28:48the American people to face the challenges that our nation faces. Now is the
- 28:52time for change. And Morgan, I told you I was not going to
- 28:56have you talk about politics because that's said to that. I don't want to
- 29:00hurt your I don't want hurt your your real job. So but it was
- 29:03interesting, you would say, very especially considering that Kayla Young is a delegate
- 29:07to the National Convention. Absolutely, I saw it come through last night,
- 29:10and I have to say I'm very proud of Kayla for putting it out there.
- 29:12She knew it was going to be opening a can of worms, essentially
- 29:15getting that feedback. But I think that Kayla is a delegate that listens to
- 29:19her constituents, speaks to her mind, and does so with education, research
- 29:23and insights. So proud of her for stepping up to the plate and making
- 29:27that statement. It's uh, it took uh, it took a lot to
- 29:32do that. It took a lot to do. It took go out of
- 29:33gus. Why couldn't she do it when she was on my show two days
- 29:36again? For now, no man, but she is going to be on
- 29:40with Hopey coming up at ten thirty this morning. Can further explain that.
- 29:42I look forward to tuning into that because I know that she has more information.
- 29:45Kayla does everything with a lot of preparations, so I know she's sought
- 29:49this through and excited to hear more about what led to her making that statement.

- 33:31gone it down? Shots fired? Oh my lord, well no shots fired.
- 33:36Here. We have the lovely Jill Garon from the Charleston Dirty Birds in
- 33:38the studio with us today. We've got some exciting things coming up overall for
- 33:43the Dirty Birds, but I really want to focus on one that's happening,
- 33:45especially event that's happening next Thursday, women making a difference night, stepping up
- 33:51to the plate. Give us the rundown on what that's going to look like.
- 33:53Absolutely, So that is this Thursday, So the twenty fifth of July,
- 33:59that's gonna be our final game of the homestand so little last push for
- 34:02us, and we are going to be highlighting women in the community. So
- 34:07there's a lot of different things going on that day. But the big thing
- 34:09is this is a community center, right. We want to have women come
- 34:14to the ballpark, women and girls where they feel empowered. They get these
- 34:17resources to learn more about self esteem, learn more about teamwork and connecting and
- 34:22have a great time at the ballpark and more than even a huge help with
- 34:25all of it. But the big thing that we're doing is a pregame panel,
- 34:30so you'll be facilitating it all, be on the panel with a few
- 34:32other amazing women from the community in West Virginia, and we're inviting young girls
- 34:37to come and listen to this panel. Again, it's about teamwork, about
- 34:42self esteem which we all know is a difficult thing for young girls right now.
- 34:45I can't even imagine having to deal with it now like how I did
- 34:49ten years ago, So we're really really excited about it. A ticket gets
- 34:52you into for the panel and for the baseball game. Yep. Everything kicks
- 34:55off at five point fifteen, I believe, with the panel and we have
- 34:59some amazing guests, including Charleston City council person Becky Separately, who's going to
- 35:04be doing our introduction. They wonderful Lindsay McIntosh, Jamie Tradico, and Jessica
- 35:09Hudson from Dress for Success are all going to be joining Jill on this empowerment
- 35:14panel with concluding marks from Mayor Amy Goodwin. So lots of fun going on
- 35:19prior to the game. And during the game, you guys are doing a
- 35:22special initiative to represent some unsung heroes. Tell me more about that exactly.
- 35:25So that's going to be our All Star nomination team. So if you guys
- 35:28have come to the ballpark, you see kids run out onto the field for
- 35:31the national anthem. Right where we're doing this a little bit different where we
- 35:35ask for nominations on Facebook on Instagram of people who do amazing things in the
- 35:40community but maybe don't get the recognition that they deserve. So we have I
- 35:45believe it's now seventeen people who are going to be honored pregame there and it's
- 35:49not people, it's women, it's young girls to all different ages, all
- 35:52different backgrounds. They are going to be honored before the game and make sure
- 35:55that they get the recognition that they deserve. So this is really just an
- 35:59empowering night for women of all ages. Come in, learn more about self
- 36:02confidence, leadership, self esteem, teamwork, healthy living. We have this
- 36:07great panel, we have amazing sheros if you will, that are going to
- 36:12be taking the field and you get a ballgame right exactly. And so this
- 36:15is actually what's really cool. A lot of people don't know this is that
- 36:17week is Women and Girls in Baseball Week, so that is kind of where
- 36:22the big tie in is. Obviously, with me being a female in sports,
- 36:24being the only female broadcaster in the Atlantic League as well, really important
- 36:30to me that we have this kind of event, and I'm so happy that
- 36:32The Dirty Birds ran with it and we're making it a big deal exactly.
- 36:36This is the second year for the event. It's getting bigger every year.
- 36:38There's an amazing committee of volunteers that are working on this event to make it
- 36:42happen, and we do have some tickets available. So if you work with
- 36:45girls and athletics, if you have an organization that supports female empowerment or the
- 36:51empowerment of young women, reach out to Jill at the Dirty Birds. You
- 36:53can reach out to me Morgan Robinson, find me on Facebook and we'll work
- 36:57out a way to get tickets in the hands of those girls needed the most,
- 37:00to really get them geared up and ready to be the empowering leaders that
- 37:05we know they're going to be. Yeah, two points to that. We're
- 37:07so so happy to have these sponsors who want to bring these young girls and
- 37:12women to the ballpark to make sure that they feel empowered and have a great
- 37:15time. But also how you mentioned we have a panel of volunteers who have
- 37:19been helping create this. This isn't just the Dirty Birds doing this. It's
- 37:21truly a community event where we bring other people in and we ask their opinion
- 37:24and say what else can we do and for example you Morgan. So it's
- 37:29been really fun and I have enjoyed every second of getting this event together.
- 37:32Well, we love the Dirty Birds and everything they do for the community.
- 37:36That you also have African American Heritage Night coming up, so really a wonderful
- 37:38community partner. Tons of ways for you to get involved once again. That
- 37:43game is taking place this coming Thursday, July twenty fifth. Gates open at
- 37:46five o'clock. That empowerment panel starts at five point fifteen. And I don't
- 37:51want to neglect to mention this because Nina Pascinetti will find me and hunt me
- 37:53down. But the amazing women of the cast of Legally Blonde from the Charleston
- 37:58Light Opera Gil will be saying our national anthem. So truly, from arts
- 38:02to entertainment, to recreation to health and fitness, we have everything covered,
- 38:07I think for this Women Making a Difference Night at the Dirty Birds. Definitely.
- 38:10I think we do. And if there's something missing, let us know
- 38:13and you can come on out. Wonderful, all right, I want to
- 38:15talk some on field stuff. I want to talk about this weekend at the
- 38:20ballpark. We'll go back to I want. I'll get all the dates and
- 38:22information on the other things, but this weekend, because the Birds have been
- 38:27on the road and then not see this right, a couple of nights that
- 38:29they scored what how many it is? Twenty six runs? Twenty six runs?
- 38:32They want there there was a lot of records broken where frankly, to
- 38:37be able to list them all, I would need to turn my phone back
- 38:39on to people get it. So the big one is twenty six to two
- 38:43was the score. That is the largest margin of victory in Atlantic League history,
- 38:47not just by the Dirty Birds, all teams and Rustbrostrata, who is
- 38:51our main starting catcher. He had four home runs in one game, which
- 38:53is a new league record. I don't know much about sports of ball,
- 38:57but that all sounds very impressive. That is very very I was going to
- 39:00jump in there, and I don't want to. I was man explaining it,
- 39:02but I was gonna take I was going to jump in there and say
- 39:06that's a lot of runs. That's a lot more for baseball. That's the
- 39:08hook there. That was a football score, you know, twenty six not
- 39:13Nope, that's baseball. Yep. So what's going on this weekend? Well,
- 39:16the burg are back tonight, Yeah, because you've been on the road
- 39:19pretty much all week and that's like Gastonia, Gastonia tonight, Lexington, who
- 39:24we just had that massive one against. So if you want to see a
- 39:27lot of runs scored, come out next week. But today is our Christmas
- 39:30in July, so you know, we have our Light the Night event coming
- 39:34up for this upcoming year. We're gonna have more information about that soon,
- 39:37but we're kind of just kicking it off with some baseball. So we have
- 39:39a Hawaiian shirt giveaway today for the first one thousand fans, say you how
- 39:44many people? I wasn't sure about the first one thousand fans get a Hawaiian
- 39:45shirt, Yes, exactly. And we on Saturday, I always have our
- 39:50Mega West fireworks. It's going to be our second annual Pepperoni Role Festival as
- 39:53well. Now you have Ryan's attention. As soon as she said that Pepperoni
- 39:59Roll Saturday, come on I think the gates are opening at three o'clock for
- 40:01that, so make sure that you over to our Facebook page for more introment.
- 40:05So what is going to go on there? So we are going to
- 40:07have local restaurants and they have a festival, so it's going to be a
- 40:12tasting. Some of our Dirty Birds staff is going to be joining in on
- 40:15the cooking as well, so you can calm and taste and make your vote
- 40:17and we will see who the winner is this year. I feel like Jeremy
- 40:21Taylor is always the one that's trying to get in there and do competition cooking,
- 40:25him and him and Jay, and I feel that Jay Silverman is probably
- 40:30there doing competition eating. Yes, absolutely, Jay is the one who kind
- 40:32of heads this, so of course he does. But yeah, he's going
- 40:37to be a part of it. And I know our office manager Andrea is
- 40:40going to be a part of the cooking as well. That's exciting. Is
- 40:44there a Pepperoni role eating contest? I hope not because those are gross,
- 40:46I don't think so. Okay, I have not heard that. I'm very
- 40:50glad. No, those those make those make me icky. Yeah, I
- 40:52don't like that. Gives me the eck for real. But yeah, that's
- 40:55exciting. So a lot's going on this week, and like you said,
- 40:59Friday, which forms in July, that's tonight, we got tomorrow the Pepperoni
- 41:01Role, and then next week on Thursday, women making a different Night at
- 41:06the Ballpark. So if you are a mom of a young woman or a
- 41:08young girl, or you want to just feel empowered yourself, come on out
- 41:12five o'clock gates open, five fifteen Empowerment Panel, and we want to get
- 41:15tickets in the hands of those girls that need it the most. And I
- 41:19want to say also, the All Star nominations that we've had again it ranges
- 41:22from a nine year old girl to a working mom to a stay at home
- 41:27mom. Where again, we aren't talking about these amazing CEOs or the first
- 41:30ever female mayor first ever female broadcaster. We're not just talking about that.
- 41:34We're talking about moms at home who are making a difference in their daughter's lives.
- 41:38This isn't just this big title that we're talking about. We're talking about
- 41:44quote unquote normal, amazing women. Yeah, because those stay at home moms
- 41:49that are able to do that day I could day out without their hair flying
- 41:52out, those are definitely heroes. In my eyes, I could definitely not
- 41:54do that either. Well, Jill, thank you so much. So many
- 41:57exciting things going on with the Charleston Dirty Birds and as always, amazing community
- 42:00partners, wonderful to always be listening to the needs and the wants and the
- 42:04interests of the community and keeping the ballpark popping all th Thank you, I
- 42:07appreciate it and I will see you guys soon. All right, thanks a

- 45:15Chris Tatum is going to be on the show on Monday. And you know,
- 45:19I love a good hot dog, but if you're listening earlier this week
- 45:22Wednesday, I think I can't have them anymore. So I had to kind
- 45:24of had to kind of step away from the hot dogs. Yes, just
- 45:27for a little while, just for a little while, just take a littleparently
- 45:30on. Apparently I'm dying, so that's what. That's what. Yeah,
- 45:34Yeah, some of us more than others, so I'll be kind of doing
- 45:36a little bit better. But Jayce Silverman, who we mentioned earlierst made quite
- 45:39a name for himself with the Have Fun West Virginia series of videos, and
- 45:44he was hanging with the governor last week and got a proclamation from the governor.
- 45:49Jay Silverman is going to join us on Monday, now, Tomorrow and
- 45:52Sunday. Lately, Field and Charleston is about to be transformed into a giant
- 45:54water park for Water Days, and we have Janas Starr Sar, Sar,
- 46:00I thought you said Star. I'm sorry. Star. Janis the Star is
- 46:05on the show today to talk about Jannis. Good morning, Good morning.
- 46:08I'm glad to be here, guys. This is the exciting promoting water Days.
- 46:13Now, what exactly is water Days? Water Days is gonna be a
- 46:15two day event. It starts Saturday at ten thirty, I believe, and
- 46:21we're gonna have over forty attractions. You can even climb a rock wall and
- 46:25then celebrate by getting wet, so from wet slides to dunk tanks, to
- 46:34water balloon fights and water gun fights. There's gonna be a lot of fun.
- 46:37I think I saw a phone party. A phone party. Yes,
- 46:40we will have our phone party there. That's exciting. And it's at Laidleyfield.
- 46:44It's at Laileyfield. It's two days. It goes from ten until six
- 46:49and then on Sunday it's noon until six. It's a small fee ten dollars
- 46:54all day play from tots to adults and again parents you can bring the kids
- 46:59out there and it's ten bucks. But once you get inside everything I mean
- 47:04pretty much. I don't want to say everything because you might have some concessions.
- 47:06Or something like that going on. But as far as the activities go,
- 47:08everything's free. When you get anything that's inflatable or Quantum party rentals is
- 47:13free. And give us an idea of some of those inflatables that you've got.
- 47:17Well, we have some huge water slides. I'm talking thirty five feet
- 47:22tall, sixty feet long. We have slipping slides triple A and slipping slides
- 47:30that run anywhere to fifty to sixty feet. We've got, like I said,
- 47:34the water gun battles. We have a splash pool for the little tiny
- 47:37ones. We'll have a play zone for little tiny kids. We're even gonna
- 47:42have some mechanical things there, like the eurobungee and the rock wall. We
- 47:47will have a petting zoo there. Now the petting zoo will be a fee
- 47:52to feed the animals, but it's it's free to look and free to pet.
- 47:55Like I said, ten dollars all day play for each the This whole
- 48:00idea come from who said, one day, you know what would be a
- 48:02really cool idea, Let's turn Ladley Field into a giant swimming pool. Well,
- 48:06you know I have to give key days to Aaron Wood. He's the
- 48:09owner of Quantum party one, and this man, I don't think he I
- 48:13think when he sleeps he dreams of new things to do, so it's always
- 48:16going to be something new that we get involved in. We had the Easter
- 48:20egg hunt, we have water days, we have rid fast, we have
- 48:22so many things that needs are all kind of the combination of what he thinks
- 48:28of in his spare time. See. I like to say that Aaron's just
- 48:30a big kid, so he thinks about all the things that he wants to
- 48:34do and then he makes it happen. So I love that this is for
- 48:37all ages. Absolutely. I think the weather this weekend is going to be
- 48:39perfect. It's going to be hot enough to enjoy it, but not so
- 48:43hot that you feel like you're being assaulted by the sun when you walk out
- 48:45the door. Exactly. That's why I tell people, bring your beach out,
- 48:47bring your launch chair, Yeah, lounge chair and relax. Why the
- 48:52kids play. That's a good point. I wanted to bring up, what
- 48:54should people. I mean, lawn chairs are okay to bring in, Yeah,
- 49:00lounge share, bring and lounge chair, bring beach toils, bring sunscreen
- 49:02of course, And I think pretty much that's it. Ladleyfield will be providing
- 49:09drinks. We will have concessions, so will ladley Field. If all the
- 49:14cotton candy, flushies, you name it, we'll have the concessions. I
- 49:20think it's great because I remember when my kids were a little you get to
- 49:22this point in the middle of July where you're starting to run out of things
- 49:24for them to do. They're starting to get a little bit antsy. You
- 49:28can't wait for school to start. So this is a great way to take
- 49:30the kids on Saturday and Sunday, wear them out, take them home,
- 49:35put them to bed, and you can enjoy the rest of the evening well.
- 49:37And the whole point is to make it affordable for everyone. So many
- 49:42children don't get this opportunity to spend in an entire day for as little as
- 49:45ten bucks, and they can come in and play and have such a good
- 49:49time. Aaron's all about kids, he really is. So when he comes
- 49:53up with these ideas, and I'm the sales director, I sell the concept
- 49:59thanks to Morgan's ho but I'm telling you it always balloons into some successful events
- 50:05that we do. I mean, I'm I'm really kind of and I'm going
- 50:07to be there tomorrow because all of our stations are going to be there.
- 50:10I'll be there representing the Mountain. Ninety eight seven Chapel is going to be
- 50:15there from KWS. Stephen Jenny Are I think one of them is. I'm
- 50:20not sure which one. J Jenny's going to be there. And then on
- 50:22Sunday what he Woods is going to be there from the beach. Yeah.
- 50:28We will be a party, a wet and wild party. So once again
- 50:31this Saturday and Sunday Water Days at Laidley Field. As you said, Saturday
- 50:36is ten to six, Sunday six, only ten dollars gets you into play
- 50:42all day for the entire duration. We've got foam party, inflatables, water
- 50:46slide, water gun battles, petting zoo. I feel like the list just
- 50:51keeps going on and all and I think we need to remember too that adults
- 50:53like to have fun too. Yeah, so if you weigh less than two
- 50:57hundred pounds, which is a mix that we have from our infiable companies,
- 51:00you can enjoy the inflatables. Wait shaming, wait shaming, but go ahead,
- 51:05I'm kidding. I'm kidding ahead. What I interrupted you, Well,
- 51:07we just have our inflatables have a limit and it's under two hundred or under.
- 51:13But you know, some teens are pretty big dudes. So you know,
- 51:15if you're less than two hundred pounds, you can get on the inflatables
- 51:20as well. There you go. I'm here for it. I was going
- 51:22to say, I'm pretty sure that you're under that pressure. I think I
- 51:24can. Yeah, I think I can be under. But for Morgan is
- 51:28a hype requirement. I'm never tall enough to the right. And the information
- 51:37is available, I know it's all over our social media, of all of
- 51:38our radio stations. Where can people find out more? Literally quantum part of
- 51:43party rentals website, Facebook page, just google water Days and Charleston, West
- 51:50Virginia, and you're going to see all kinds of media come up. All
- 51:53right, we appreciate you being here, thinks a lot. We'll see you
- 51:57tomorrow and Sunday. I'll be there tomorrow, Texas. Dear Dave, your
- 52:00co host is currently beating you at words spoken per minute, which I'm sure
- 52:04is killing you. I sure feel sorry for missus Dave this weekend, as
- 52:07I'm sure she won't be able to shut you up. She's been trying to
- 52:09shut me up for thirty some odd years now, so it's probably not gonna
- 52:13happen. Janas, thanks a lot for being here, Thanks to all of
- 52:15our guests. Thanks to Ryan Nicholson for putting the studio back together when Jim
- 52:17Strown broke it earlier. Ryan is the man. Morgan, I appreciate you
