- 0:09Hello and welcome back to another episode of Battle
- 0:11Laurentia, how are you all doing?
- 0:13I hope you're doing great. Now, for today's episode, I want
- 0:15to talk about Nollywood actor Emeka Ike is back in the news
- 0:21for all the wrong reasons. I mean, he is currently
- 0:23promoting one of his movies directed by Tony Abraham, but
- 0:29he's on the news for his marital issues, his divorce.
- 0:34He's five to seven, Almost everybody basically.
- 0:38Now for some of you who don't know him, OK, is one of
- 0:41Nollywood, I would say legendary actor because we all grew up
- 0:45watching him in his movie. He is a very good actor.
- 0:49He is kind of he embodies any role that he's he's giving the
- 0:55bad boy, the lover boy, you know he's just that kind of all round
- 0:59actor. During the mid 2000s, I think
- 1:022000 and six 2007 Nollywood ban a list actors, according to them
- 1:10a list actors were charging ridiculous amounts of money.
- 1:13Now some of these actors include ransomware Mecca, Genevieve Naji
- 1:18Yedu. The whole lot of them, the A
- 1:20list actors at that time were banned.
- 1:23Now this affected a lot of them financially and sent to be.
- 1:29We as we all know got married, his wife became the breadwinner,
- 1:32he started the company and we all know how that ended.
- 1:36He recently passed on and according to the story sent
- 1:41obese wife collected the kids. It was just financial challenges
- 1:47and he passed on in jaws I think last year or early this year.
- 1:52Now America on the other hand, MK stand to be kind of dropped
- 1:56out of circulation but Mikey Kay became the Actors Guild of
- 2:01Nigeria, the president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria and he
- 2:05has always been in the news for one controversy or the other.
- 2:09And Mexican was fighting all the bodies like especially probably
- 2:16Seema Jaguar name means. And Mikey was always in the news
- 2:24challenging somebody or fighting somebody.
- 2:27Now that got even into his personal life.
- 2:29I think at that point he was just going through a lot because
- 2:32just imagine somebody who movie is their source of income, the
- 2:38entertainment industry is their source of income and all of a
- 2:41sudden you couldn't do what you know best, you couldn't earn
- 2:44money from, you know that's his source of income and that was
- 2:48cut short. Now some people were able to
- 2:51transition from that point to probably directing, producing,
- 2:57but I think he goes stock in this whole phase of pity me,
- 3:02pity me, everybody's the problem.
- 3:05I am not the problem. So at that point he was fighting
- 3:07everybody. Now that creeped into his
- 3:09personal life because rumours started circulating that his him
- 3:14is himself and his wife started having issues making.
- 3:17You got married in 2000 and they have 4 kids now.
- 3:21At this point there were rumours circulating that the wife moved
- 3:25out of the house. People were thinking OK you know
- 3:28then the Internet was not that as it is today.
- 3:31But at that point people said America's marriage was in
- 3:36trouble. The wife moved out of the house.
- 3:38There was just so many news circulating and Mexican will
- 3:42come out to debunk everything. At that point.
- 3:45They said he was kind of physically assaulting his wife
- 3:48but he came out and he said no, that that never happened and all
- 3:52that. Now this whole thing was going
- 3:54on and making case started cooking up conspiracy theory.
- 3:57He was saying that the Actors Guild of Nigeria after him, his
- 4:01wife is after him. His wife is being blackmailed
- 4:04crito quote, because the wife was attending Chris Okotie's
- 4:07church. And According to him, Chris
- 4:10Okotie has fed her a lot of lies and everything now that now the
- 4:15wife was, According to him was fighting.
- 4:19So we just thought, this guy, you need therapy.
- 4:23I have the sport at this point. You need therapy because if
- 4:27everybody is after you, if everybody is against you because
- 4:31he was saying that people send hired assassin and all that.
- 4:34So when eventually the wife moved out of the house, probably
- 4:39she got out of the whole mess. She moved out of the house.
- 4:42And at that point, and I believe because making case unable, man,
- 4:47there's no way she's going to go with those children.
- 4:50Definitely not. So she left the kids.
- 4:54She I think it was just too much for her and she had to leave.
- 4:57Now we don't know what happened but they make came online
- 5:00because the wife has been quiet in this whole drama.
- 5:03So it was every information we got was from MK So making K
- 5:09mouse online and said that the wife colluded retired assassins.
- 5:13People were. After his life he travelled to
- 5:17America to shoot a movie and then all of a sudden he came
- 5:21back and he's landed. Properties are gone, his papers
- 5:25are gone, Everything he owned as I'm making here was gone.
- 5:29And then the school. This was in 2017.
- 5:32According to him the school was worth 480 million naira.
- 5:36So he said he came back from shooting the movie in America
- 5:40and then everything was gone, like the wife According to him,
- 5:44wiped everything clean, took away all his property.
- 5:47So then we thought OK, MKK moved on with his life because he said
- 5:52he couldn't fight the whole thing.
- 5:54He remarried, he moved to Germany, remarried a South
- 5:58African lady, left his kids in Nigeria According to him because
- 6:02he needed to sort himself out. So he relocated to Germany,
- 6:07married another woman with kids for his children were in
- 6:11Nigeria. Anyway, at this point people
- 6:13thought, OK, Mikey has moved on, the wife has moved on and there
- 6:18were just sitting there minding our business and Mikey is back
- 6:20in the news. I think it's back in the news.
- 6:24I'm singing and crying and also once again blaming his wife.
- 6:29I mean, at this point everybody was thinking, OK, this woman
- 6:32needs to say something like if she got married at the age of
- 6:3719, you know, people were thinking, OK, somebody from the
- 6:42family has to say something like there has to be friends.
- 6:45They have like let her tell her own side of the story because
- 6:48Mikey is just playing the victim.
- 6:50He said she wiped him clean, took away everything he had.
- 6:55He couldn't fight and all that. People were thinking this is not
- 6:59adding up, especially in Nigeria.
- 7:01If a man, the man has an upper hand, like men are literally
- 7:07gods. In Nigeria, you could get
- 7:09married to somebody, even if that is your property, that
- 7:13person can actually go to court and claim that property because
- 7:17he is the man you know. And you know most Nigerian
- 7:20women, when they are getting married, even if they have
- 7:22property, they will transfer it to the man's name or like a
- 7:26joint property and it is easier for the man to go to court and
- 7:31actually claim those documents just because he's the man.
- 7:34People are now thinking America, OK this is not adding up.
- 7:37If your wife in Nigeria, you she divorced you or she moved out of
- 7:43the house or she she allowed you to travel and then moved into
- 7:48your house and clear out everything, took away your
- 7:51landed properties and everything you even if she took those
- 7:54documents when you could easily go and reclaim those documents
- 7:58back. This is not America, this is not
- 8:01UK, this is not Canada. I mean what are we talking
- 8:04about? So those things were not people
- 8:06were actually questioning the validity of his story.
- 8:10Now just lover actually mentioned that they were going
- 8:14to get to the root of the whole like tell those true story of
- 8:20what actually happened. Now just lover I think reached
- 8:23out to and making case ex wives and friend and this is what she
- 8:28has to say about the whole drama.
- 8:30Now what? So this girl in question, he
- 8:35married at 19, very early. Right.
- 8:38We were childhood friends and he married her.
- 8:42And then, you know, they started life with the hope of a
- 8:46beautiful future for children. You understand the lady in
- 8:52question didn't grow up with a silver spoon.
- 8:55She's She's not. What's it called?
- 9:00You know, she's one girl that has been through life, You know
- 9:05what I mean? She's worked so hard all her
- 9:07life. It hadn't been easy.
- 9:09The journey for all of us wasn't easy.
- 9:12So you know when you now meet someone married immediately
- 9:17after secondary school, you know she wants federal government
- 9:19college, Benin. So in Merida, immediately after
- 9:23secondary school, they got married, right?
- 9:25So you married a very young girl.
- 9:28All through this girl's life, you've tormented her.
- 9:32How do you come every single time she's been keeping quiet
- 9:36for you, Every single time she's been through hell.
- 9:39You took away the children from her.
- 9:42You know all through this time she has been covering up.
- 9:45You know how these artists all these stars you know how they
- 9:48are. They don't have you know they
- 9:50they live according to in the time of America said how much
- 9:54were they making as movie stars how much how can he come and say
- 9:57400 million 400 million watts. This girl has been on the floor
- 10:01every day. Nothing.
- 10:03No shoes, no clothes, starving with her children just so that
- 10:08America can buy fuel in his bloody car.
- 10:10Because he's a star. He cannot be walking around the
- 10:13streets of Lagos. You took her away from
- 10:16everybody, everybody sleeping with her.
- 10:18Everybody is, as you can imagine, that kind of life.
- 10:22What kind of quality of life is that?
- 10:24This child went through everything.
- 10:26This man was beating her. This bits, I'm telling you, is
- 10:29not small beats is kick her down the stairs.
- 10:33Why would she go and start following the what's it called?
- 10:37A hitman? This thing to kill you, America.
- 10:40What do you have that somebody is killing you?
- 10:42For what? What do you have?
- 10:46What is the thing you have? Somebody wants to kill you.
- 10:48She's been living with you for how many years?
- 10:50Has four children for you. Why did she kill you from your
- 10:54food? Why did she kill you from
- 10:56everything in the house that she could have done?
- 10:59Why does she need to go and start?
- 11:01How much does Emma have? How much does Emma have?
- 11:06How much does this young lady in question have?
- 11:09Just lover. I want you to investigate this
- 11:12matter. This this man.
- 11:13And this has to end. He has to stop this last time
- 11:17the one he did. Finally he left his children.
- 11:20He is getting on with one lady in Germany.
- 11:23The lady is, is she lives in Germany, she's already and she
- 11:28had children, she's South Africa and blah, blah, blah.
- 11:30You know how these men are. They are hustling is their
- 11:33hustler. He went and married somebody
- 11:35that already has children, you know.
- 11:38So no, he let the children and dumps them all on their own.
- 11:41Four children. You left them, these children.
- 11:47No food, nothing. They were just there, in that
- 11:49bungalow in somewhere inside Abuja.
- 11:52No food, nothing. That.
- 11:53Meanwhile, their mother was denied of seeing her children
- 11:56for years. My friend Could not eat, could
- 11:59not sleep, could not move on, could not date anybody, could
- 12:02not do anything. Every night she's crying.
- 12:05Every night she's crying. Every day she's crying.
- 12:08Every time she sees my children. I had to run away from her.
- 12:11She's in tears. She's sad she couldn't move on
- 12:14with her life. I kept on telling her, I said,
- 12:16see, now you need to work hard. These children are coming, you
- 12:20understand? They will come back to you.
- 12:21And when they come, what do you have to offer them?
- 12:24At some point America was living in a hotel with the children.
- 12:27Each little children of how many years old you are living in a
- 12:31hotel. How much does America, which
- 12:34must school 400 million investment is a bloody liar.
- 12:37America rented that place a long term lease.
- 12:40This young lady tried her best to manage the school as best as
- 12:44she could. You understand?
- 12:46So where do you, where do you come from?
- 12:48That you? Who are you?
- 12:51I'm just tired. Do you understand?
- 12:53Every time he wants to train is this girl's name.
- 12:55Every girl can't move on, She can't have a life.
- 12:57Why do women have to suffer? Shows left you.
- 13:01She has moved on. You do whatever you like.
- 13:03You remind she you remarried. She did not remarry.
- 13:07She just wants to live her life for her children.
- 13:10Everything this Emma thinks about is her children, her
- 13:13children, her children. I can't swear to God.
- 13:18I can't swear. Enough is enough.
- 13:21At some point I think she she came and pitched with me.
- 13:23She was living in one place, in Magodo, in one room, trying to
- 13:27teach. They were paying her 25,000
- 13:29naira. No.
- 13:30This young lady has picked, you know, picked up the pieces.
- 13:33Starting to patch her life. She had to go and get her
- 13:35children in Abuja where Mecca dumped them.
- 13:37These children were eating rotting, contaminated food,
- 13:40fetching water on their head, no light.
- 13:43You can imagine a bungalow. This man still rented one room,
- 13:462 room bungalow. This man still rented one room
- 13:49to a copper. I love these children.
- 13:51I went to Germany. What are we talking about here?
- 13:55She know how to go and get her children.
- 13:57Do you understand? So I don't understand where
- 14:00America is coming from. She never took his children away
- 14:02from him. These children are barely lived
- 14:03with her for three years. Should have barely lived with
- 14:07her for three years. He was in Germany.
- 14:09He didn't know where the children were all along.
- 14:11All this time he cannot. His first two kids are already
- 14:15young adults and they have the right to see their father,
- 14:19right. My friend is not stopping them
- 14:23from seeing their father. They are allowed to see.
- 14:25She does not stop them because they are adults.
- 14:27They are young adults, but the other young ones, the other two
- 14:31cannot. He cannot have them anymore.
- 14:33You can't be dumping them as you please when it's convenient for
- 14:36you to go and hustle. Are you a prostitute?
- 14:39What kind of life are you teaching those children?
- 14:43They are in a better place. Their mother is working day and
- 14:46night. She is ready to lick the floor
- 14:48with her tongue to make sure that those children are fine.
- 14:51She's not abandoning them to go and be with her another man.
- 14:55She's not. And trust me, just lover, it has
- 14:58been hard. It has been hard for this girl,
- 15:03the fact that she does not talk. Now after listening to this
- 15:07whole thing I think America should move on to be honest with
- 15:11you. It's it's sad.
- 15:14I mean people get married to do for better or for worse and most
- 15:22times the worst is always one sided.
- 15:25The woman is expected to take whatever comes her way regard
- 15:30especially in Nigeria like I keep saying especially in
- 15:33Nigeria because Nigerian women we are built for marriage or we
- 15:38are we are groomed for marriage from the from as long as you you
- 15:44can talk they start telling you is this how you're going to
- 15:48behave in your husband's house is this how you're going to do
- 15:50your husband house is this how you're going to take care of
- 15:52your family. So Nigerian women are trained to
- 15:56be wives but the husbands or the men I don't even think anybody
- 16:02pay attention to OK let's they just tell them being man but
- 16:06nobody tells them how to be a man and most times in the home
- 16:11the example they see is what they emulate.
- 16:15Now most Nigerians, most Nigerians, are they, they, they,
- 16:21they, they are traumatised, they have trauma.
- 16:23Because you grow up in environments, even if you come
- 16:27from a very good home, your neighbours, you may see things
- 16:31that experience trauma. Like there are certain things
- 16:35that shape people, not just from the home, the woman, they
- 16:38actually trained them, they actually tell them what to do.
- 16:41But they men, they don't tell them anything.
- 16:43So they pick up things here and there, from uncles, from
- 16:47neighbours, from relations, from friends, you know, these are the
- 16:51things that they pick up and they think, OK, this is how a
- 16:53man should be. Most times that does not work
- 16:56because women, they bring 100%. Well, men think, OK, once I can
- 17:01provide, I I can load over you. I can because I at the end of
- 17:06the day, she got married when she was 19 years old after
- 17:08secondary school. So I don't think at that point
- 17:11she was earning anything, you know, so she was literally under
- 17:15his control and for her to leave that situation.
- 17:20I think America is not owning up to the fact that OK, it takes
- 17:25two to tango. Yes, I I 100% believe that he
- 17:30went through a lot. Don't get me wrong.
- 17:32He went through his own challenges because for him to be
- 17:36still talking about that you know part of his life and he's
- 17:42married now so you know there's still that pain there where he's
- 17:49thinking OK I thought this was going to be forever and now it
- 17:52is not and making you need to heal you need to you need to
- 17:57seek therapy We all we all need to heal from one thing or the
- 18:02other. And being bitter about the past
- 18:04will not let you move forward. I know we say men should talk
- 18:08and sometimes when men talk we don't believe them.
- 18:11I believe in making OK. I'm not saying I doubt anything
- 18:14he's saying I am saying that it takes two to tango if in any
- 18:18relationship that did not work out and then you you bought it
- 18:23was. I mean, I understand there are
- 18:25kids in this mix. But according to this story and
- 18:29according to what he has said, he left the children to go to
- 18:33Germany. He did not take the case to
- 18:35Germany. So he must have left them.
- 18:39And when that marriage ended, he, he took the kids.
- 18:42So for whatever reason, the kids went back to their mother in his
- 18:48absence. OK.
- 18:50So I think he should take accountability for, you know,
- 18:54some of the roles he has played. I mean everything he said was
- 18:57blaming, pointing, accusing fingers.
- 18:59You see that the Nigerian movie industry, you see that AGN, you
- 19:03see the Nigerian government, you see that the wife, Pastor Chris,
- 19:07who quote like he has blames for everybody.
- 19:12Not everybody is meant to be husband.
- 19:14Most people are fathers, but they are not husbands.
- 19:17I think I'm making a kid. Did not understand what being a
- 19:22husband is. You know, he could be the most
- 19:25amazing dad to his kids. Or are you are you a good
- 19:28husband? Are you a good husband?
- 19:30I don't think any Nigerian woman would leave her home who had
- 19:35four kids would just wake up one morning and decide to you know
- 19:39this is not and Mikey was fighting everybody online
- 19:44anyway. I wish everybody healing because
- 19:48we all need it. We all need therapy.
- 19:50We all are going through one thing or the other whether
- 19:53relationship ending well whatever thing you're going
- 19:57through it takes two it takes 2. So make take responsibility,
- 20:04heal. See your kids reconcile with
- 20:07like you could have a better relationship with your ex-wife
- 20:12and this is this is the mother of your kids.
- 20:15She is in custody. The the kids are in her custody.
- 20:18So for you to be able to use your kids all this interview is
- 20:22not necessary. You could.
- 20:24Just move on, move on. I know it's easier said than
- 20:28done, but we could all do better Now.
