  [SPEAKER_00]: They're starting cornerback on a $3 33 million deal, $11 million per year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So Devon Lloyd is he's just going to basically end up going to the highest bidder.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It kind of feels like that could be the scenario now.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's going to be one of the highest in demand free agents.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Probably the highest paid off ball linebacker, not in the league, but from this free agency cycle, I think 18-ish million is my expectation, maybe a little bit more than that, maybe a little bit less than that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of teams around the league that have a lot of cap space.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars are not one of them.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You might be asking, well, the Jaguars, they only had $100,000 in cap space.

  [SPEAKER_00]: How did they agree to terms with Buster Brown on a year that's on a deal that's 11 million dollars per year?

  [SPEAKER_00]: For one, that $11 million per year, that's the average annual value.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The capit in year one is probably going to be between $4 and $5 million, maybe up to $6 million at the very most for the Buster Brown contract, because the Jaguars big signing bonus gets perrated throughout the length of the contract and they'll probably add.

  [SPEAKER_00]: a couple of void years on the end to make it more affordable from a cap perspective every year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: From a cash perspective, actual spending, the Jaguar's shotgun, he would spend whatever it takes to put together a roster that he's excited about as we've got the trash trucks going by outside.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But he would put together whatever he has to do to make this roster as

  [SPEAKER_00]: as competitive as it could possibly be.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So that's really what limits the Jaguar is not their actual cash.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But they do have a path to create as much salary cap as they would really need to be very aggressive to go sign a big fish and free agency to go make a big trade.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously there was reports that they were interested in Max Crosby trade.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They were very interested in acquiring Quinn and Williams last year, so there's going to be some names out there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You could potentially look at, to maybe make a big swing via a trade or via free agency.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And they can agree to a deal right now with Buster Brown before being cap compliant.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They have to be cap compliant Wednesday at 4 p.m.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So I do expect subsequent moves to be made for the Buster Brown signing, but also for

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think the Jaguars are done moving some money around from a cap perspective.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of different players that they can keep and restructure their deals.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There are also players that they could potentially cut.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So that's what I would be keeping an eye on from a money standpoint for the Jaguars.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I think Devon Lloyd's probably going to end up getting paid a ton of money elsewhere.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's both of those teams have been linked to Kenneth Walker, and both of them have been linked to Travis ETN.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's like one of those teams gets Kenneth Walker potentially.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar has been linked to Kenneth Walker as well, by the way, by Jonathan Jones, who is plugged in with the team.

  [SPEAKER_00]: a little bit more well rounded overall certainly has proved to be a better pass protector, but both of those guys are definitely high quality starting backs in this league.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I've been clear about that, but it's not the end of the world if he leaves, because you do have Bacial Tutor, you do have Lee Quint Allen.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of free agents that have ties to the Jag wars that could be cheaper, and there's always good running backs in the NFL draft.

  [SPEAKER_00]: in best of luck to him, if he does end up departing Jacksonville, which is my expectation at this point.

  [SPEAKER_00]: regarding Brian Thomas, I didn't write this one down, but the Buster Brown contract, because he is an in-house free agent, he's your own player, he does not impact the compensatory pick formula for 2027, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jack Wars, if Devon Lloyd goes in science in the top 5% of off-ball linebacker contracts or linebacker contracts, I should say, top 5% he'll be a, he'll earn a third round compensatory pick.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If he's in the top 10 or 15% I can't remember that it, he'll give the Jaguars a fourth round compensatory pick.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Their hope should be to get at least a fourth round comp pick in my mind for Devin Lloyd, but we'll end up seeing exactly how that plays out.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If the Jaguars go and sign other compensatory free agents, that could

  [SPEAKER_00]: cancel out or negatively impact the pick the jaguars get back in 2027 for a deven Lloyd signing elsewhere, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: So I would like to see them sign guys that will not impact that will not be top 35% at their position and either that or

  [SPEAKER_00]: guys that have been released, or make a trade because if you sign a player that's been released or you make a trade for a player, that does not impact the compensatory pick formula.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think the Jaguar should definitely be trying to get as much value as they can out of deven-loid leaving and potentially even a Greg Newsome leaving.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He could potentially earn the Jaguars the seventh round compick, so could Travis ETN.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So, Buster Brown signing your own guys, that's not gonna impact the compensatory pick formula negatively for the Jaguars.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now, Brian Thomas Jr. Jonathan Jones also reported that Brian Thomas Jr.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars are not looking to move Brian Thomas Jr.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If a team wants him, they're probably going to have to give up a, not a King's ransom, but

  [SPEAKER_00]: They're probably gonna have to make a deal that Jaguar is just quite simply can't refuse because Brian Thomas Jr. has that vertical threat and this offense does open up things for Jacobi Myers for Parker Washington, Britain Strange for the run game.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Teams have been even during the 2020 five season in which BTJ was not as best.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Teams were still covering him with their opposing number one corner back and respecting the deep speed that he had.

  [SPEAKER_00]: After that point, he was no longer the featured player in the offense, and they're passing game, but he was more efficient, he was more effective, he was more explosive.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that Brian Thomas Jr. is a good fit with the Jaguars in the role that they finally wound up with him.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And if they can get even more out of him, that's great.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think the highest level outcome for the Ryan Thomas Junior situation is the Jaguar is keeping him and figuring out how to utilize his skill set best because they still have him under contract for two years.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then they can also use the fifth option if they want to do that as well with Brian Thomas Junior.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And if he can take a step back in the direction that you saw in 2024, and even just kind of build off of what you saw towards the back stretch of 2025, you're in a good spot, especially because he doesn't have to be your feature guy.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But if the Jaguars are like, hey, we can take the pick that we're getting for this guy.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I can understand them doing that too, but it's going to take a little bit more than I think what the what teams have been offering.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He also wants a new contract which could complicate things a little bit, but it also could allow the Jag wars to have more 20, 26 cap relief for Jonathan Grinart because

  [SPEAKER_00]: If they do sign tray Hendrix and I definitely think he is a player that's going to impact the compensatory big formula with the type of deal he's going to sign, because even if it's only like a one year deal, it's going to be a pretty damn big one year deal.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He is just really the perfect type of player for what the Jaguars need right now on the interior As an interior passenger who has some versatility to move around Recavac play the run do everything you need him to do Collears Campbell you're 40 season

  [SPEAKER_00]: Bradley Chubb is another player who was released, so he would not impact the pick formula, even if you signed him to a deal that you would think normally would because he was released.
