- 0:00Speaker 1: Danny and Cole 97.1 Hank FM.
- 0:03Speaker 2: The heat dome is here.
- 0:06Speaker 3: Dude, it is going to be so hot.
- 0:09Speaker 2: I want air conditioning in my car again. I need it.
- 0:13Speaker 3: I can't live.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Where?
- 0:15Speaker 3: What?
- 0:15Speaker 4: Why?
- 0:15Speaker 3: Okay, literally. I thought we were done with this.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Well, you know, it's it's August going into September.
- 0:20Speaker 3: It's August for like a day.
- 0:23Speaker 5: 18 more hours or something like that.
- 0:27Speaker 2: We always talk.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Well, I always talk about how I am very picture driven.
- 0:31Speaker 1: So when I go into the National Weather Service page
- 0:34Speaker 1: and from today all the way to Thursday, it's just
- 0:37Speaker 1: the sun looking like it's going to attack us in
- 0:39Speaker 1: the picture. That's not good. And then Friday isn't any better.
- 0:44Speaker 1: It's 92 on Friday, but there's a chance of storms.
- 0:46Speaker 1: So the picture changed.
- 0:47Speaker 3: I thought we're going to get cooler.
- 0:48Speaker 1: I'm like, no, the picture just changed because maybe there's storms.
- 0:51Speaker 5: But I think that rain does cool it off a
- 0:53Speaker 5: little bit on Friday and a little bit on Saturday.
- 0:55Speaker 3: And then Sunday looks nice.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Okay.
- 0:58Speaker 3: And Monday looks nice. 92. You just have to get
- 1:00Speaker 3: through the next, really this whole week.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:03Speaker 3: Of it being stupidly hot.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Just real, real dumb outside.
- 1:08Speaker 1: So again, I know we were complaining about it just
- 1:10Speaker 1: being hot, but if you work outside, if you know
- 1:13Speaker 1: like any of your neighbors you need to check on,
- 1:16Speaker 1: this is the week to do that because.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Drink your water too. Wear your sunscreen.
- 1:20Speaker 2: It's our PSA this morning. Drink water.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Drink water.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Wear your sunscreen and let's have a good week.
- 1:25Speaker 3: They did what?
- 1:28Speaker 5: There's a new trend where men are not showering or
- 1:32Speaker 5: using deodorant before dates. Intentionally, it's called pheromone maxing, but
- 1:39Speaker 5: there's a very good chance that most of their dates
- 1:42Speaker 5: don't appreciate the lapse in hygiene.
- 1:46Speaker 2: No, you're gross.
- 1:47Speaker 4: Shower.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Shower.
- 1:48Speaker 4: Deodorant.
- 1:49Speaker 1: I know they say that that's like what, like a
- 1:51Speaker 1: biological thing, like we're attracted to men who are like sweating,
- 1:54Speaker 1: but no.
- 1:56Speaker 2: If you stink... You stink.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Country music news.
- 2:03Speaker 5: Country music news. Dolly Parton officially has been laid to
- 2:07Speaker 5: rest with a private funeral with immediate family. And this
- 2:11Speaker 5: was over the weekend on Friday and confirmed by her niece,
- 2:15Speaker 5: Lainey Parton, online. I'm glad that they just did like
- 2:20Speaker 5: something different.
- 2:21Speaker 3: Small with immediate family.
- 2:22Speaker 4: Me too.
- 2:22Speaker 1: I'm sure at some point there'll be some big tribute
- 2:25Speaker 1: or fancy come do their thing.
- 2:27Speaker 2: But, you know, we see.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Dolly as our family member, but she did actually have
- 2:30Speaker 1: family who needed to pay their condolences. We were talking
- 2:34Speaker 1: about how there was that petition going around trying to
- 2:37Speaker 1: get the airport in Nashville named after Dolly Parton. Looks
- 2:40Speaker 1: like a governor of Tennessee, Bill Lee, says he spoke
- 2:42Speaker 1: with Dolly's team. They think it's a great tribute and
- 2:46Speaker 1: a great way to honor her legacy. So they've proposed it.
- 2:49Speaker 1: to the, I guess, Metro Nashville air.
- 2:52Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 2:52Speaker 1: There's a lot of channels that have to go through
- 2:55Speaker 1: before something could actually happen.
- 2:56Speaker 3: Somebody get it done.
- 2:57Speaker 1: But who's going to be like, nah, no, that's not
- 3:01Speaker 1: going to work for us.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Like you're going to don't do it. Don't do it
- 3:04Speaker 2: to Dolly.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Let's just skip all those channels. Let's just put her
- 3:08Speaker 3: name on it.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Fast track that over.
- 3:10Speaker 1: The Opry paying tribute to Dolly Parton over the weekend.
- 3:13Speaker 1: I mean, names that were there were just pretty much anyone.
- 3:16Speaker 3: I know I was trying to read them all quick.
- 3:19Speaker 3: But yeah, if you could think of somebody, they were
- 3:21Speaker 3: probably there.
- 3:22Speaker 2: They close out the show.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Carly Pierce, who we've talked about how she has a
- 3:25Speaker 1: deep connection to Dolly because she convinced her family to
- 3:27Speaker 1: move to Nashville or not to Nashville, but to Pigeon
- 3:30Speaker 1: Forge so she can perform at Dollywood. Close the show
- 3:34Speaker 1: and surprise everyone with Jelly Roll.
- 3:35Speaker 3: Don't give it up for Jelly Roll. I watched nine
- 3:41Speaker 3: to five over.
- 3:43Speaker 4: The weekend too. I had to. So shocking.
- 3:45Speaker 2: It'll make your jaw drop.
- 3:46Speaker 1: He clicked on it.
- 3:47Speaker 3: So you don't have to.
- 4:03Speaker 6: It's Clickbait Cole on Hank FM.
- 4:06Speaker 5: How often are you using the thumbs up emoji in
- 4:09Speaker 5: a text? Like somebody texting you, you just liked it
- 4:12Speaker 5: with a thumbs up.
- 4:14Speaker 1: I heard someone say this the other day and I
- 4:16Speaker 1: immediately thought, oh my God.
- 4:17Speaker 2: I didn't even know that. I thought that was just
- 4:19Speaker 2: me telling you that I saw your text message.
- 4:21Speaker 5: Yeah, or I'm just acknowledging it. Like, hey, can you
- 4:24Speaker 5: grab this at the store for me?
- 4:25Speaker 3: Thumbs up. Yeah, I got it. No, no problem. I
- 4:27Speaker 3: don't need to say like, send you a text.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I thought I was doing.
- 4:31Speaker 6: Yes.
- 4:32Speaker 5: Well, Gen Z is celebrating the downfall of the thumbs
- 4:35Speaker 5: up emoji, calling it cold, dismissive, passive aggressive. But then
- 4:40Speaker 5: other generations got mad and flooded the comments with thumbs
- 4:43Speaker 5: up emojis.
- 4:47Speaker 4: I don't.
- 4:48Speaker 3: I'm still going to use it.
- 4:49Speaker 1: What do you want me to do? Do I have
- 4:51Speaker 1: to heart it? I don't love what you're telling me.
- 4:54Speaker 5: Can you pick up milk from the store?
- 4:57Speaker 3: I love that idea. Give that a heart.
- 5:01Speaker 6: Annie and Cole. 97.1 Hank FM.
- 5:08Speaker 5: Last weekend, my wife and I, for the very first time,
- 5:12Speaker 5: went to Bodie, the Thai restaurant on Mass Ave.
- 5:15Speaker 3: We had always heard such great things about Bodie.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Yeah, every time they put together a list of like
- 5:20Speaker 1: best indie restaurants, this one is always on it.
- 5:24Speaker 3: Yeah, we had never had a chance to go.
- 5:26Speaker 5: We finally went and we left being like, that was
- 5:30Speaker 5: one of the best meals I have had here in Indianapolis.
- 5:34Speaker 3: It was so good.
- 5:37Speaker 5: And like, usually for the longest time, they didn't take reservations.
- 5:39Speaker 5: They recently started taking reservations. You can only book them
- 5:42Speaker 5: a week out. Typically you just show up and there's
- 5:44Speaker 5: a line and you get in line and hopefully get in,
- 5:48Speaker 5: but we went and it was so good. And even
- 5:50Speaker 5: on the way home, my wife without prompting goes, would
- 5:54Speaker 5: you add that to your Mount Rushmore of indie restaurants?
- 5:58Speaker 5: And I'm like, This is a great question.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Let's talk about this a little bit more.
- 6:03Speaker 5: Your Mount Rushmore of Indianapolis restaurants. We can extend to
- 6:08Speaker 5: central Indiana. If you have one that's not technically in Indianapolis,
- 6:12Speaker 5: but is in central Indiana, that counts as well.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I was looking at my list. I was like,
- 6:17Speaker 2: I need to know. I need to know if I
- 6:18Speaker 2: can expand it. I was struggling with this one because
- 6:20Speaker 2: I like so many places.
- 6:21Speaker 6: I know.
- 6:22Speaker 4: I know.
- 6:23Speaker 2: So you're putting Bodie on there.
- 6:24Speaker 3: I'm putting Bodie on there.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Okay. You want to name any other ones or you
- 6:27Speaker 2: don't want to sway the vote?
- 6:29Speaker 3: You can go first.
- 6:31Speaker 2: The pressure of it all.
- 6:32Speaker 6: I know.
- 6:33Speaker 3: All right.
- 6:33Speaker 2: So I put salt. I love salt.
- 6:35Speaker 3: Salt's very good. I have other scallops.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Dude, perfectly cooked.
- 6:40Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 6:40Speaker 2: So good.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Melt in your mouth.
- 6:42Speaker 1: If you don't want to spend, I mean, you're still
- 6:44Speaker 1: going to spend some money, but if you don't want
- 6:45Speaker 1: to spend that money, slapfish also is just a great.
- 6:48Speaker 3: Great lobster roll.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Casual, like walk-in, order at the counter kind of place.
- 6:52Speaker 1: I never know how to say this place's name, and
- 6:54Speaker 1: it bothers me because it's one of my favorite places,
- 6:57Speaker 1: and I don't.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Know how to say it. I don't know.
- 7:02Speaker 1: I already am too nervous to even say it.
- 7:08Speaker 4: Yes.
- 7:09Speaker 3: Italian.
- 7:09Speaker 1: So good. It is so good. And it's so affordably priced.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Like it's just, just go there, check it out and
- 7:17Speaker 1: ask them how they say their name, please. And then
- 7:19Speaker 1: my husband, Rob and I, we love Noah Grants in Zionsville.
- 7:21Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 7:22Speaker 3: Those are all good ones. I, I struggled with this too.
- 7:26Speaker 3: Bring it down to four.
- 7:27Speaker 4: Four, right?
- 7:28Speaker 2: That was my problem too.
- 7:29Speaker 3: I could probably give you 20.
- 7:30Speaker 6: Okay.
- 7:31Speaker 2: I think.
- 7:31Speaker 3: I will put Bodie on there.
- 7:34Speaker 5: We have long said that this is our favorite restaurant
- 7:37Speaker 5: in Indy, my wife and I, which is Livery.
- 7:39Speaker 2: I knew that one was going to be on your list.
- 7:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:41Speaker 5: My next one is, this one is very pricey. It
- 7:45Speaker 5: is a special occasion restaurant. We've only been one time
- 7:48Speaker 5: and we spent a whole bunch of money there, but
- 7:50Speaker 5: it was so good. Vida.
- 7:53Speaker 4: Never.
- 7:53Speaker 2: I know. You always talk about these places.
- 7:55Speaker 3: I've never been to them.
- 7:55Speaker 6: It's so good.
- 7:57Speaker 5: This is where I struggled with the last one, because, again,
- 8:00Speaker 5: I wanted to add so many on here. I like
- 8:04Speaker 5: because you think of like the classics, the St. Elmo's
- 8:07Speaker 5: and even or like if you want to go from
- 8:09Speaker 5: the fanciest to St. Elmo's to like working man's friend,
- 8:11Speaker 5: like just like an easy burger place or whatever.
- 8:14Speaker 3: I decided on Union 50. OK, so very good, too.
- 8:21Speaker 2: What would make your list?
- 8:23Speaker 6: Annie and Cole, be a part of the show. Call
- 8:26Speaker 6: or text 317-663-9797. Annie and Cole. It's the problem.
- 8:39Speaker 2: When we talk food this early.
- 8:40Speaker 1: I'm over here looking at devour indie menus thinking, where
- 8:43Speaker 1: are we going to go today? And my husband just
- 8:45Speaker 1: texted me, what's for dinner? He's going in for a
- 8:46Speaker 1: colonoscopy right now.
- 8:48Speaker 2: So he has an eight.
- 8:49Speaker 5: Oh, remind me what you did after yours. Like what
- 8:53Speaker 5: meal did you go treat yourself to?
- 8:55Speaker 3: I don't even remember.
- 8:56Speaker 2: I don't remember. I know.
- 8:58Speaker 1: I don't remember what it was because I thought I
- 9:00Speaker 1: would be so ready to eat. But after not eating
- 9:02Speaker 1: for that long, you're scared to eat something because you're like,
- 9:05Speaker 1: I don't know what's going to happen.
- 9:06Speaker 6: Yeah. Yeah.
- 9:07Speaker 3: I get that.
- 9:07Speaker 2: When I eat.
- 9:08Speaker 1: So he's like, what's for dinner? I was like, well,
- 9:09Speaker 1: let's go out somewhere then if you get to eat again,
- 9:12Speaker 1: or if you want to take it to the house
- 9:13Speaker 1: just in case it doesn't go as well.
- 9:14Speaker 3: Probably that.
- 9:15Speaker 2: We could do that.
- 9:16Speaker 4: You know?
- 9:16Speaker 6: Yeah. Yeah.
- 9:18Speaker 5: Our text line is 317-663-9797. We're talking about your favorite
- 9:22Speaker 5: restaurants in Indy. This one says Italian house in Westfield.
- 9:26Speaker 5: Everything is homemade.
- 9:28Speaker 3: Have you had that one? That one's close to you.
- 9:30Speaker 2: I love their patio. Their patio is great.
- 9:32Speaker 1: I was looking up what the other Italian place though
- 9:34Speaker 1: is in Westfield that I love.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:35Speaker 5: Megan said Wolfies, especially when we are out on the
- 9:40Speaker 5: boat slash river.
- 9:41Speaker 3: And guys, we love a good patio. We love a
- 9:43Speaker 3: good outdoor space.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Dude, sometimes I don't even care what your food tastes like.
- 9:48Speaker 1: If I'm looking at something pretty, I'm like, okay, that's great.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Pasta Italiano is the one that I was thinking of
- 9:53Speaker 1: in Westfield. You'll drive right past it. Again, I have
- 9:56Speaker 1: a list of strip mall foods that are my favorite.
- 9:59Speaker 1: And this strip mall in Westfield is serving up the hits.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Pasta Italiano.
- 10:05Speaker 1: There's a taco spot that's in that same strip mall
- 10:08Speaker 1: that's also good. Lincoln Square Pancake House, if you just
- 10:12Speaker 1: want some breakfast.
- 10:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Also, I mean, you go down to this hot box
- 10:16Speaker 1: pizza if you're drinking and you want some pizza. The list,
- 10:19Speaker 1: that strip mall is just bop after bop after bop
- 10:22Speaker 1: in Westfield.
- 10:22Speaker 2: So we're looking for your best restaurant.
- 10:26Speaker 3: They don't have to be in a strip mall.
- 10:28Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. But if
- 10:30Speaker 2: they are, bonus points. 317-663-9797 is our phone number. Do
- 10:35Speaker 2: you really want to know?
- 10:38Speaker 6: Annie and Cole want to know.
- 10:40Speaker 2: This weekend humbled me, not once, but twice.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Okay. Where I try to do something that I've watched
- 10:46Speaker 1: other people do and they make it look so easy.
- 10:48Speaker 1: And then I tried and I was like, oh my gosh,
- 10:51Speaker 1: how do y'all live? First of all, you're going to
- 10:55Speaker 1: be coming up to this very, very soon, Cole. I
- 10:58Speaker 1: say it all the time. Parents have superhuman strengths.
- 11:01Speaker 2: My sister....
- 11:03Speaker 1: She makes everything look so easy this weekend. She's like,
- 11:05Speaker 1: you want to go for a bike ride with the kids?
- 11:06Speaker 2: I'm like, sure.
- 11:07Speaker 3: Love that.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Put my nephew Henry on the back of the bike.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Do you know how hard it is to pedal a
- 11:12Speaker 1: bike when you got 40 pounds of extra weight on
- 11:14Speaker 1: the back?
- 11:17Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 11:18Speaker 2: I'm sweating.
- 11:19Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 11:20Speaker 1: I'm telling her we better not go up any inclines
- 11:22Speaker 1: because I don't think we're making it. And her and Grace,
- 11:24Speaker 1: who is... The bigger of the kids, Grace is seven
- 11:27Speaker 1: and Henry's four.
- 11:28Speaker 2: She's cruising. And I'm like, hold up a second.
- 11:32Speaker 5: I kind of have noticed that already with some of
- 11:37Speaker 5: the things we've done. We used to go on bike
- 11:39Speaker 5: rides with kids. The dog before baby Josie. So baby
- 11:43Speaker 5: Josie has just been a little bit too small to
- 11:45Speaker 5: join us for bike rides quite yet. But I would
- 11:47Speaker 5: have our dog Reggie, who's a small dog, 25 pounds
- 11:51Speaker 5: on my back. And it would be so much harder.
- 11:53Speaker 5: I think about it when we go running as well.
- 11:56Speaker 5: We have a jogging stroller and it's like it's stroller.
- 12:00Speaker 5: It's on wheels like it shouldn't be that much heavier,
- 12:02Speaker 5: but it is.
- 12:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:04Speaker 1: And then you see other people just making it look
- 12:06Speaker 1: so easy. My husband, the reason I apologize from this weekend,
- 12:09Speaker 1: I was driving his truck because my car doesn't currently
- 12:12Speaker 1: have air conditioning. And so I went to go meet
- 12:15Speaker 1: him at our friend's kid's football game.
- 12:18Speaker 2: And this parking lot is just, it's a Saturday.
- 12:21Speaker 1: There's football, there's baseball, there's softball, and it's all going
- 12:24Speaker 1: on in the same complex. I'm trying to find a
- 12:25Speaker 1: parking spot. I'm driving his big old truck. And I
- 12:30Speaker 1: tried to park in three different spots.
- 12:33Speaker 2: And I couldn't do it.
- 12:34Speaker 1: I almost just told them I couldn't come to the
- 12:37Speaker 1: game because I couldn't park.
- 12:38Speaker 2: And I just, I got there.
- 12:40Speaker 1: I parked finally like 18 miles away from where I
- 12:43Speaker 1: was supposed to be because there was no cars there.
- 12:45Speaker 2: And I got to my husband. I was like, I'm
- 12:46Speaker 2: so sorry.
- 12:47Speaker 1: I don't know how you do this because your truck's
- 12:52Speaker 1: too big. It's too big and he makes it look
- 12:56Speaker 1: so easy. So what's something that you always thought was
- 13:00Speaker 1: a breeze until you tried to do it yourself?
- 13:02Speaker 2: Do you really want to know? Annie and Cole want
- 13:04Speaker 2: to know. Some people make it just.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Look so easy, but it's really not once you try it.
- 13:10Speaker 1: What do you think that is? Something so easy until
- 13:12Speaker 1: you tried it yourself.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Heather on the Armour Air Tax Line at 317-663-9797 says,
- 13:15Speaker 2: Maneuvering the truck and trailer at the boat dock.
- 13:23Speaker 3: Oh, dude, I bet. I've never tried that, but I bet.
- 13:26Speaker 1: I just somehow imagine if I was trying to do it,
- 13:29Speaker 1: I'd be backing down the ramp and all of a
- 13:31Speaker 1: sudden we'd be in the water and not just the boat,
- 13:34Speaker 1: like the truck too. What's something you thought would be
- 13:37Speaker 1: so easy till you tried it?
- 13:38Speaker 4: I am going with you on the kids. My sister
- 13:44Speaker 4: and brother-in-law went to Switzerland for a week and they
- 13:48Speaker 4: have two kids. I took the week off work. And
- 13:54Speaker 4: I watched the kids, and I was so exhausted. And
- 13:59Speaker 4: my sister makes it look so easy. She works 40 hours,
- 14:04Speaker 4: takes care of the kids. She even went back to college.
- 14:10Speaker 3: I was exhausted.
- 14:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:12Speaker 2: How are you alive if you're doing all of that,
- 14:14Speaker 2: you know?
- 14:14Speaker 3: That's a good one. Just kids. Kids are hard.
- 14:17Speaker 4: Kids are. And I love them to death, but I'm
- 14:20Speaker 4: glad I don't have any.
- 14:22Speaker 2: That's why, yeah, me too. Same stance. Cool aunt over here,
- 14:25Speaker 2: and I'm good with that.
- 14:26Speaker 1: But that's what Cole, when Cole came in after having
- 14:29Speaker 1: baby Josie, you would tell me how you.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Were not sleeping.
- 14:32Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 14:32Speaker 2: And you were still here working.
- 14:34Speaker 4: Yep.
- 14:35Speaker 2: And still not sleeping.
- 14:36Speaker 3: You just kind of do it. Like, I don't know, right?
- 14:38Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 14:39Speaker 4: But how?
