- 0:00Chapter 60. Two from the book.
- 0:02Of Isaiah first let's. Pray dear God.
- 0:05Please help us. To gain understanding as.
- 0:08We read through this. In Jesus name.
- 0:12So it begins with For Zion's sake I will not keep silent.
- 0:17This is Isaiah talking for Jerusalem's sake.
- 0:21I will not remain quiet till her vindication shines.
- 0:26Out. Like the dawn, her salvation,
- 0:29like a blazing torch, The nations will see your
- 0:33vindication, And all kings your glory you will be.
- 0:38Called by. A new name that the mouth.
- 0:42Of the Lord will. Bestow so this is something that
- 0:46God often. Does is gives?
- 0:49Someone a new name it says like if you search new name and this
- 0:56this actually happened back in the Old Testament times too.
- 1:01Like Jacob, his name became Israel, Abram became Abraham,
- 1:08Sarai became Sarah, and then in the New Testament, Saul became
- 1:14Paul. So it does also.
- 1:17Talk about this in the Book of Revelation as well.
- 1:22So Isaiah 62. Verse 2 talks about.
- 1:27This new name, but then we can also go to the book.
- 1:29Of. Revelation in the New Testament,
- 1:32chapter 2, verse 17 and it. Says whoever has.
- 1:35Ears let them hear. What the Spirit says to the
- 1:39churches. To the one who?
- 1:41Is victorious. I will give.
- 1:43Some of the hidden manna I will also give that person a white
- 1:49stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one.
- 1:55Who receives it? So this Whitestone is like
- 1:59purity and there's a new name or Holiness I guess, and there is a
- 2:05new name that is given to people.
- 2:08When? Probably when?
- 2:10Perhaps when they are born again or as a reward or a new name.
- 2:14But this is very much common. This is something God does often
- 2:19and then in Revelation. Chapter 3 verse 12 it says.
- 2:23The one who? Is victorious.
- 2:25I will make a pillar in the temple of my God.
- 2:29Never again will they leave. It I will write.
- 2:32On them the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God,
- 2:38the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from
- 2:43my God. And I will also write on them my
- 2:47new name so. This is.
- 2:52Another part where it's. Talked about.
- 2:55A new name that is given and this is something that that God.
- 3:01Does repeatedly, so that is. Let's see.
- 3:05What else there's? The new.
- 3:09Well, we'll get to that later, I guess, OK.
- 3:12So it's talking about all the nations seeing this.
- 3:15You will be a. Crown of splendor in the Lord's
- 3:18hand. A royal diadem in the hand of
- 3:21your God no longer. Will they call you deserted or
- 3:26the? Name or name your land desolate.
- 3:29But you will be. Called Hepzibah, which means my
- 3:35delight is in her and your land Beulah.
- 3:39And Beulah means married for the Lord.
- 3:43Will take delight. In you and your land.
- 3:47Will be. Married as a young man marries a
- 3:51young woman. So your builder marry, so will.
- 3:56Your builder marry you as a bridegroom.
- 3:59Rejoices over His bride, So will your God rejoice over you.
- 4:04So there are many symbolic things that are mentioned here.
- 4:08It's about and we know that. Jesus from the prior chapters we
- 4:12talked about. Jesus being the bridegroom and.
- 4:15We talked about. You know the creator.
- 4:18Jesus was with the Father. From the beginning and.
- 4:23He was. You know it says so your builder
- 4:27will marry you. So this is.
- 4:29You know from the beginning your builder, your creator is, is
- 4:33marrying you. So this is that.
- 4:34Covenant That marriage covenant that is spoken of symbolically.
- 4:40Throughout the entire Bible it says I have posted.
- 4:47Watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem, these are.
- 4:50Probably the prophets. Who had warned?
- 4:52All the people of. Jerusalem throughout.
- 4:55All of the. Ages.
- 4:56They will never be silent, day or night.
- 4:59You who call on the Lord, give yourselves no rest and give Him
- 5:05no. Rest till he establishes.
- 5:08Jerusalem and makes her the. Praise of the Earth.
- 5:12This reminds me of something that I think Paul says pray
- 5:15without ceasing that. It says.
- 5:19You who call on the Lord, give yourselves no rest, and give him
- 5:24no rest. Till he establishes.
- 5:27Jerusalem and makes her the praise.
- 5:30I just think is. You know, just to keep on
- 5:32praying for everything the. Study Bible says Does God grow
- 5:37tired of our prayers? No, but the Bible sometimes
- 5:41pictures God as having human characteristics.
- 5:44The verse simply urges God's people to.
- 5:47Pray until their. Prayers are answered though.
- 5:52Prayers do not. Literally wear God out he.
- 5:55Does respond to persistence and you can find that in Luke
- 5:59chapter 18 verses one through 8 the study.
- 6:03Bible also talks. I'll read.
- 6:05A few more things that are stated here.
- 6:07What? Was a royal.
- 6:08Diadem. It was a crown, specifically a
- 6:11crown worn by a king or a queen. Scholars aren't sure why Isaiah
- 6:16described the crown as being in God's hand rather than on his
- 6:20head. Maybe it represents an
- 6:22intentional mixing of metaphors. Jerusalem and its people were in
- 6:27his hand in the sense of being under his care and control.
- 6:31But they were. Also his prized possession
- 6:34elsewhere, the Bible. Pictures.
- 6:35Christ's followers. Reigning with him in heaven as
- 6:38royalty, how can land be married?
- 6:43This is figurative. Since marriage was considered a
- 6:46blessing, this was a. Picture of God's.
- 6:48Blessings on his people who lived in the land This promise
- 6:51was especially significant to people who had.
- 6:54Earlier been described as childless widows.
- 6:58Why would Zion or Jerusalem be given a set of new names?
- 7:03In ancient times, names did much more than identify a person.
- 7:07Names revealed something about a person.
- 7:11His or her characteristics? For example, or the
- 7:14circumstances surrounding the person's life changing names was
- 7:18a vivid. Way to express?
- 7:20A change in circumstances. So then let's see what comes
- 7:28next to keep on praying. We talked about that the Lord
- 7:33has sworn by his right hand and by His mighty arm.
- 7:36Never again will I give your grain as food to your enemies.
- 7:41So again this is this has not happened yet.
- 7:44This is something future. Never again will I give your
- 7:48grain as food for your enemies. And never again will foreigners
- 7:51drink the new wine for which you have.
- 7:54Toiled, but those who harvest. It will eat it and praise the
- 7:58Lord This is something future and those who.
- 8:01Gather the grapes will. Drink it in the courts of my
- 8:04sanctuary. Obviously this.
- 8:07Has not happened yet. Pass through, pass through the
- 8:10gates. Prepare the way for the.
- 8:12People. Build up, build up.
- 8:14The highway. Remove the stones.
- 8:17Raise a banner for the nations. So it says, why build up a
- 8:20highway for the people, this road?
- 8:23Building and Rd. clearing. Project probably refers to the
- 8:27Jews. Return from Babylon.
- 8:29But this? Clearly points to salvation in
- 8:31its final stage. God would make his salvation
- 8:35available. To all his people.
- 8:39Continuing with what Isaiah said, the the Lord has made
- 8:43proclamation to the ends of the earth.
- 8:46Say to daughter Zion. See.
- 8:48Your Savior comes. See.
- 8:51His reward is with. Him and his recompense
- 8:55accompanies him. So this is talking about a
- 8:58savior coming now who? Is the Savior of Israel God?
- 9:05Himself correct And how did God? Save people through Jesus's
- 9:12sacrifice. On the cross.
- 9:14So this is telling us that Jesus is returning the Savior.
- 9:19Who else could be? No one can save.
- 9:22I mean if Israel. Could be saved.
- 9:25Then they wouldn't. Have had all these sacrifices
- 9:29year after year after year. For atoning, but when Jesus came
- 9:33and made it possible, there is no longer a requirement.
- 9:37For these sacrifices. And so the Savior who is not
- 9:41recognized. By all Jewish people.
- 9:44Yet. Is.
- 9:45Jesus and he is coming. He will be the Messiah that
- 9:50comes. There are Jesus even said there
- 9:52were going to be false messiahs that come first.
- 9:55So we have to be. Aware of that, but eventually
- 10:00Jesus will come. Says he comes on the clouds so
- 10:04we will know when he is coming and I.
- 10:06Believe that he does. Return at the. 6th seal so.
- 10:10The Book of Revelations, a great book.
- 10:12To read because it tells us about the.
- 10:16Events that will happen so that when we see these events then we
- 10:19will recognize it if we. Study the Book of Revelation.
- 10:22It says you'll be blessed if you read the.
- 10:23Book of Revelation. So it's a good thing to do that.
- 10:28So and, and then he brings rewards with him.
- 10:31So this is both a time of vengeance and a time of.
- 10:36Rewards. And redemption.
- 10:37So there's two different things that are happening to those who
- 10:40have prepared themselves. This is a reward.
- 10:43There's joy to those who have rejected God.
- 10:46This is. The time that.
- 10:48The true up the. Judgement.
- 10:50This is what will be coming when Jesus returns.
- 10:53He's going to come back very differently than when he was
- 10:57here the first time, the first time he.
- 10:59Was here to save. People, which he did on the
- 11:03cross, even though people don't. Some people don't realize that
- 11:08by what he did on the cross. He gave us the.
- 11:10Opportunity to be in God's Kingdom we.
- 11:12Just have to accept. What he did repent of our sins
- 11:17and. Receive the Holy Spirit which
- 11:20who Jesus gives to us. When we have truly repented.
- 11:24When we have truly thrown away all of the.
- 11:28The ways that we. The sinful ways that we were
- 11:31rebelling against. God when we reject.
- 11:33Those. That's when.
- 11:35Jesus will give the Holy Spirit. So.
- 11:39It says they will be called the Holy People, the.
- 11:42Redeemed of the Lord, and you will be.
- 11:45Called sought after the. City no longer deserted.
- 11:49So this certainly sounds like Jerusalem will someday actually
- 11:53be devastated once again. And.
- 11:58The prophecy does. Kind of tell us that.
- 12:02So who? Are the holy people this first
- 12:05lists? Four more names for God's
- 12:07people. These names, like the earlier
- 12:09ones, make it. Clear that the status of people
- 12:12would be. Changed.
- 12:13Their salvation would clearly. Define them.
- 12:15As God's people, so this is the. End of chapter 62 and we're only
- 12:2212 minutes into it, so I will go ahead into chapter 63.
- 12:27Who is this coming from? Edom?
- 12:30That's present day Jordan from Basra with his garments stained
- 12:36Crimson. Who is this robed?
- 12:40In splendor, striding forward in the greatness of his strength,
- 12:45It is I proclaiming victory. My tea to.
- 12:49Save. Why are your garments red like
- 12:52those of 1 treading the winepress?
- 12:56I have tread. I have.
- 12:58Trodden the winepress alone from the nations.
- 13:03No one was with me. I trampled them in my anger and
- 13:08trod them down in my wrath. Their blood spat spattered.
- 13:13My garments and I stained all my clothing.
- 13:18This is Jesus. And there's something that I
- 13:21also learned today was that he treads the wine press and then.
- 13:27Goes to Basra. Because it says.
- 13:30I have. Trodden the wine press alone and
- 13:33so he's returning also then from Basra.
- 13:37So he treads the wine press. Or maybe that's part of where
- 13:42that's where it begins. I don't know.
- 13:44But he comes from there and his clothes are blood stained.
- 13:48And we find in the Book of Revelation that.
- 13:51It talks about. In Revelation chapter 14.
- 13:57It talks about. This reaping Chapter 14 Verse
- 14:0115. Then another Angel came out of
- 14:04the temple, this the heavenly temple, and called in a loud
- 14:07voice to him who was sitting on the cloud.
- 14:11Take your sickle and reap, because the time to reap has
- 14:15come for the harvest. Of the.
- 14:17Earth is ripe. So he who was seated on the
- 14:21cloud swung his sickle over the earth, and the earth was.
- 14:24Harvested. Now there's another Angel that
- 14:27comes another Angel came out of the temple.
- 14:30So there's one, it just. Says that was harvested, they
- 14:32were all gathered. And he?
- 14:34Too had a sharp sickle. So here's another Angel.
- 14:38Still another Angel. Who had charge of the fire?
- 14:41Came from the altar and called in a loud voice to him.
- 14:45Who had the sharp sickle? Take your sharp sickle.
- 14:48So this is. A separate one.
- 14:50Take your sharp. Sickle and gather the.
- 14:52Cluster of the grapes. From the Earth's vine.
- 14:55Because it's grapes are ripe. The Angel swung his sickle on
- 15:00the earth, gathered it's grapes and threw them into the great
- 15:04wine press. Of God's wrath.
- 15:07They were trampled in the wine press.
- 15:10Outside the city. And blood flowed out.
- 15:16Of the. Press rising as high.
- 15:18As the horse's. Bridles for a distance of 1600
- 15:24stadia, which is about 180 miles or about 300 kilometers.
- 15:30This is a massive massacre of, I mean, a massive wine press.
- 15:40I mean, we just can't even imagine 180 miles.
- 15:44As high as the horse's bridles. That's deep.
- 15:48That's pretty deep. And for 180 miles, this is
- 15:52something unlike we've ever seen before.
- 15:58Then it goes on to. Say it was.
- 16:00For me, the day of vengeance, the year for me to redeem, had
- 16:06come. I looked but there.
- 16:09Was no one to. Help.
- 16:10I was appalled. That no one gave.
- 16:13Support. So my own arm achieved salvation
- 16:17for me and my own wrath sustained me.
- 16:21So I'm wondering, you know, Christians are gone here because
- 16:25nobody is helping this Jesus. Nobody is helping him, and he's
- 16:31all alone. I trampled the nations in my
- 16:33anger, in my wrath. I made them drunk.
- 16:36And poured their blood. On the ground now, Isaiah is
- 16:40going to switch and go to a different verse, but I'm going
- 16:45to. Read What the Study Bible.
- 16:46Says about this wine press. Actually, let's let's just read
- 16:52what it says about. Chapter 63.
- 16:56Who were Edom and Basra? Edom was South and east of
- 17:00Judah. Basra, Basra.
- 17:03Was a shepherding center and an important fortress.
- 17:06Of the city of. Edom, who was talking to whom in
- 17:10these verses? Isaiah as a.
- 17:12Prophet played the role. Of a watchman guarding the city
- 17:15of Jerusalem, he asked, in effect, who goes there, and
- 17:19discovered it was the Lord proclaiming victory, mighty to
- 17:23save what was a wine press it was a.
- 17:26Large VAT or through where several.
- 17:28People holding onto ropes. Overhead could work together.
- 17:31Stomping on grapes. To squeeze out the.
- 17:34Juice which was drained off and collected the process.
- 17:38Left their. Feet and clothing stained.
- 17:40By the red grape. Juice similar to blood, as here
- 17:45in verses 2 through 6, treading grapes in a winepress, is a
- 17:49common biblical metaphor for the execution of God's.
- 17:53Wrath I looked, but there. Was no one to help.
- 17:59This verse is similar to chapter 59 verse 16 and the meaning of
- 18:04the two. Verses is the.
- 18:06Same. God himself rescues his people
- 18:09because there is no one else to do it.
- 18:14So then it continues on. We switched the tone here from
- 18:18this vengeance and massacre to I don't even know if massacre is
- 18:23even the right word. Because I'd have to.
- 18:25Look up the definition but it's definitely destruction of
- 18:29people. So praise and prayer is the next
- 18:33part. I will tell.
- 18:35Of the kindness. Of the Lord, the deeds for which
- 18:39He is to be. Praised, according to.
- 18:41All the Lord has. Done for us, yes, the many good
- 18:44things he has done for Israel according to his compassion and
- 18:49many kindnesses, he said. Surely they are my people,
- 18:54children who will be true to me and.
- 18:57So he. Became their savior.
- 19:00This is why I. You know when there's words like
- 19:03this that were written 700 BC, this is saying that.
- 19:07God is their savior. And.
- 19:11So how do they? How do people not recognize that
- 19:14it it's through the Son of God, Jesus who did this, and Jesus
- 19:20was with the Father eternally so.
- 19:24He was just God. Manifested the Spirit of God was
- 19:28within him, and that's how he came to.
- 19:31Earth. As the Son of God, he was
- 19:33conceived. By the Holy Spirit the Holy.
- 19:36Spirit of God and that's that's how he saved us.
- 19:41I mean. I guess it is very complicated
- 19:44because we're. Talking about something
- 19:45supernatural, but at the same time, it's seems so clear to me
- 19:51in the Bible in all this in all. Their distress.
- 19:56He too. So again we have Jesus
- 19:59referenced again in all. Their distressed.
- 20:02He, too, was distressed. And the Angel of his presence
- 20:06saved them. In his love and mercy he
- 20:10redeemed them. Jesus is called our Redeemer
- 20:13also. He lifted them up and carried
- 20:16them all the. Days of old.
- 20:19Yet they rebelled and. Grieved His Holy Spirit.
- 20:24It tells us not to. Grieve the Holy Spirit.
- 20:26And here's why. Because the next thing it says
- 20:28what happens when we. Grieve the Holy Spirit.
- 20:31So he turned and became their enemy, and he himself fought
- 20:36against them. So it gives you a.
- 20:40Cause and effect. Yet they.
- 20:42Rebelled and grieved. His spirit.
- 20:45So when? We rebel, we grieve.
- 20:48His Holy Spirit. So then what happens?
- 20:51He turned and became their enemy, and he himself fought
- 20:56against them. That's.
- 20:57Why we don't want to? Grieve the Holy Spirit.
- 21:00Because we don't want to be fighting against God.
- 21:04There's there's something legal. About this, I believe spiritual
- 21:08law. That I don't know.
- 21:11All of it but. It seems.
- 21:13I mean, it's inferred by the things.
- 21:16That we read. Then his people recalled.
- 21:19The days of. Old the days of Moses and his
- 21:21people. Where is he who?
- 21:23Brought them through the sea. With the shepherd of his flock,
- 21:28where is he who set his Holy Spirit?
- 21:31Among them, well, that again, is Jesus.
- 21:34Who gives the Holy Spirit? From the Father, who sent his
- 21:39glorious arm of power to be at Moses's right hand.
- 21:44Who divided the waters? Before them, to gain for himself
- 21:49everlasting renown, Who led them through the depths like a horse
- 21:54in an open country. They did not stubble like cattle
- 21:58that go down to the plain they were given.
- 22:01Rest by the Spirit of the Lord. Now this is something else
- 22:06again, the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of the Lord.
- 22:10And they? This is how you we receive rest.
- 22:13This is how we receive peace. It's through the Holy Spirit,
- 22:17that is. Given to us through Jesus from
- 22:21the Father. And it also says here in this.
- 22:24This is how you guided your people.
- 22:27The Spirit of the Lord is how we're guided.
- 22:32To make. For yourself, a glorious.
- 22:34Name. Look down from heaven and sea,
- 22:37from your lofty throne, holy and glorious.
- 22:40What are your zeal? And your might, your tenderness
- 22:43and compassion are withheld from us.
- 22:46But. You are our father though.
- 22:51Abraham does not know us or Israel acknowledge us.
- 22:55You, Lord, are our Father. Our.
- 22:59Redeemer from of old is your name.
- 23:03Why Lord do? You make us wander from your
- 23:06ways and harden our hearts so that we do not Revere You Return
- 23:12for the sake of your servants, the tribes that are your
- 23:15inheritance. So.
- 23:17Here the people are. Calling on him to return.
- 23:21Calling on God for a little. While your your people possessed
- 23:30your holy place. But now our enemies have
- 23:34trampled down your sanctuary. So this is something else that I
- 23:41thought of. When?
- 23:44Was. Was in Revelation.
- 23:48Oh gosh, what verse was that now?
- 23:51Revelation. I don't have Revelation 11
- 23:56about. These.
- 23:58I'll read this Revelation Chapter 11 and I'll start from
- 24:04verse one. I was given a So this is John
- 24:07and this is within a vision that he sees when Jesus appears to
- 24:11him and he said I was given a Reed like a measuring rod and
- 24:16was told go and measure the temple of God and the.
- 24:21Altar with. Its worshippers but exclude.
- 24:24The outer court. Do not measure it.
- 24:26Because it has. Been given to the Gentiles.
- 24:30They will trample on the Holy. City for 40.
- 24:34Two months and I will appoint MY2 witnesses and they will.
- 24:37Prophecy. For 1260.
- 24:40Days clothed. In sackcloth.
- 24:43That's morning. So this is really interesting,
- 24:46especially at this time right now, because in just a.
- 24:51Couple weeks there is. Going to be a a meeting with
- 24:55United Nations on September 22nd.
- 24:58There will be a discussion about the 2.
- 25:01State. Solution of Palestine and
- 25:03Israel, we don't know what's going to happen from it.
- 25:07We know there are several nations that are in support of
- 25:10it and there are some few who are not in support of it.
- 25:16But when this? Topic gets brought up.
- 25:19This is certainly a time for us in the present to be watchful
- 25:24because. We see this prophecy.
- 25:27From 700 BC that says for a. Little while your people
- 25:32possessed your holy place. But now our enemies have
- 25:36trampled down your sanctuary. And then the Book of Revelations
- 25:40says that there's this time of 42 months or 3 1/2.
- 25:45Years where? It's turned over to the
- 25:50Gentiles. So.
- 25:54If if something happens. With this two state.
- 25:59Solution on September 22nd and it's turned into a 2 state
- 26:04solution and there you know the the.
- 26:06Outer Court. Is given to the Gentiles.
- 26:09We could very well be in this this time frame and and it's.
- 26:16It's a little bit confusing it as to the sequence of events
- 26:20that happened, but if that happens it.
- 26:24We should read a little further because there's.
- 26:26Going to be two witnesses and I because it says and I will
- 26:31appoint MY2 witnesses and they will prophecy for 1200 and. 60
- 26:37days. And again, that's 3 1/2 years
- 26:40clothed in sackcloth, so they are mourning.
- 26:43They are the 2 olive. Trees and the two lampstands,
- 26:49and they stand before the Lord of the earth.
- 26:51Well, that's obviously symbolic. And the lampstands in Revelation
- 26:58have been churches. The 2.
- 27:00Olive trees, I believe. Have been someone from Israel.
- 27:05So whether this is like a A? I've.
- 27:09Heard this. Described as maybe a grouping of
- 27:12people, like multiple people or. If these are literally.
- 27:16Just two. In some ways, it sounds like it
- 27:19might be. Just two.
- 27:21But then it's very, it's symbolic, so I don't know.
- 27:26If it's two groups of people or literally two people, that will.
- 27:32Prophecy for 1260 days. We'll see what happens.
- 27:37Because this part of. It has not happened.
- 27:40If anyone tries to harm them, fire comes from their mouths and
- 27:44devours their enemies. This is how anyone who wants to
- 27:47harm them must die. Now.
- 27:49This could also be symbolic the fire.
- 27:52Could be the word of God. Coming from their mouths, which
- 27:56basically indicts them. Of their with.
- 28:00Their evil, but here's something that's a little bit more
- 28:05supernatural that we haven't seen, but it happened like in
- 28:09the days of the Exodus from with Moses coming out of Egypt.
- 28:17So these two witnesses referring to them in.
- 28:21Verse 6 of chapter. 11 of Revelation they have.
- 28:24Power to shut up the. Heavens so that it will not rain
- 28:29during the time they are prophesying, I think.
- 28:32Elijah also had that that ability too.
- 28:36And they have power to turn the waters into blood.
- 28:41That's what happened with Moses too, during the plagues and to
- 28:45strike. The earth with every.
- 28:47Kind of plague as often as they want.
- 28:50So there are going. To be people at least 2.
- 28:54People, maybe groups of people, I don't know, because again,
- 28:58there's multiple theories on this that are going to have this
- 29:01supernatural power that is from God and they're going to be
- 29:06prophesying, so they are going to be witnessing.
- 29:10About. Jesus, they're going to be
- 29:13talking about this and that's their purpose.
- 29:16And they will. Have powers.
- 29:17That will be given to them from God now, when they have finished
- 29:21their testimony. The.
- 29:22Beast. Which is symbolic of kind of
- 29:26like an alliance of nations or spiritual entities that comes up
- 29:31from the abyss. So this is something I think
- 29:34spiritual that comes up from the abyss will attack them and
- 29:39overpower them and kill them. So they have 3 1/2 years to
- 29:44prophecy and then they will be. Killed by the beast.
- 29:48That comes up from the abyss. When I was reading this today,
- 29:51it made me think about the 6th trumpet.
- 29:56Where the? Angels who have been bound at
- 30:00the Euphrates. Are released.
- 30:03And so I wonder if that is when this happens.
- 30:09Not sure the the sequence of events gets a little bit
- 30:12confusing, maybe because I haven't studied it slow enough
- 30:16and cross referenced enough to figure out the sequence of
- 30:20events. But verse 8 says their bodies
- 30:24this. Is the 2 witnesses will lie in
- 30:25the public? Square of the Great.
- 30:27City which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt where
- 30:33also. Their Lord was crucified.
- 30:36So to me it seems like this is specific in Jerusalem.
- 30:41Because it says their bodies. Will lie in the public.
- 30:44Square of the great city. Now this is where it seems like
- 30:48it might. Be two literal.
- 30:50People in the great. City.
- 30:53I'm thinking it's Jerusalem. But he's figuratively.
- 30:56Calling it Sodom and Egypt. Because of idolatry.
- 31:02And they're also enslaved, but it.
- 31:06Here's where it tells. Us.
- 31:07It's Jerusalem, in my opinion is where.
- 31:09Also their Lord was crucified. We know that's where Jesus was
- 31:13crucified, so to me it sounds like their bodies are going to
- 31:18lie in the public. Square of the Great.
- 31:20City then it says for 3 1/2. Days which is.
- 31:23Probably symbolic, just like just 3 1/2 days.
- 31:29Some from every people, tribe, language and nation will.
- 31:34Gaze. On their bodies and refuse them
- 31:37burial, so they just they won't even bury them, the inhabitants.
- 31:44Of the. Earth a lot of times when the
- 31:47Bible says the inhabitants of the earth these.
- 31:49Are I believe. The ungodly people will.
- 31:52Gloat. Over them and will.
- 31:54Celebrate by. Sending each other gifts.
- 31:57Because these two prophets. Had tormented those who live on
- 32:03the earth. So again, this seems to me.
- 32:05That they are two prophets that will be.
- 32:08Doing this and nobody wants to hear them, they're not happy
- 32:12about them and so when it's over they're going to be sending each
- 32:15other gifts. This reminded me of how it
- 32:18currently is when other nations do hand out sweets when someone
- 32:27from. Israel is killed.
- 32:29The enemies. Of of Israel do.
- 32:31This and I couldn't believe that really happened, but that
- 32:34happens today and and it's something that I I just couldn't
- 32:40imagine, you know, people sending each other gifts over
- 32:44something like this very strange behavior but but.
- 32:49After the. 3 1/2. Days the breath.
- 32:52Of life from God entered them. So that's just like the holy.
- 32:56Spirit and they stood on their feet and terror.
- 33:00Struck those who saw. Them could you imagine all these
- 33:02people who are like they're in 3 1/2 days and it's interesting,
- 33:07like Jesus raised on the third day.
- 33:09So it's also like symbolic, but, you know, all of a sudden these
- 33:12people stand up. After they had.
- 33:15No doubt been dead for 3 1/2 days and and again it's this 3
- 33:211/2 days kind of the symbolic also because it's 3 1/2 years
- 33:27where the Holy Land is turned over to the gentiles then.
- 33:35They heard a loud. Voice from heaven saying to
- 33:38them, Come up here. And they went up to heaven in a
- 33:41cloud while their enemies looked on.
- 33:44At that very hour, there was a severe.
- 33:47Earthquake and 1/10. Of the city.
- 33:49Collapsed 7000 people were killed in the earthquake and the
- 33:56survivors. Were.
- 33:57Terrified and gave glory. To the God of.
- 34:00Heaven. So isn't that, I mean, that's
- 34:04really some, that's something to think about.
- 34:09And then it continues on. But that's where I will end for
- 34:13this one because we're not doing the study of the Book of
- 34:15Revelation. So.
- 34:16I will stop here. And this is the end of.
- 34:20Chapter 60. Three and we'll pick.
- 34:22Up Chapter 64. Next time, so hope you come back
- 34:25for that one.
