- 0:01Speaker 1: Mister Simon, good morning you two.
- 0:04Speaker 2: You know them?
- 0:05Speaker 3: Sure do?
- 0:08Speaker 2: Are we stuck here?
- 0:12Speaker 4: Why?
- 0:14Speaker 5: Jest I, Miss Jean, Join me on a trip to
- 0:29Speaker 5: Discovery Mountain, where the air is clear, clear enough to
- 0:33Speaker 5: hear your imagination, and where every day is an exercise
- 0:38Speaker 5: in faith. Join me for today's expedition. It's almost Christmas
- 0:55Speaker 5: and Discovery Mountain. The air is chilly, but there's no
- 0:59Speaker 5: snow on the ground, at least not yet. That's good
- 1:02Speaker 5: news for the youth group and their polar bear camping.
- 1:06Speaker 5: Carson is nervous about trying his leadership skills. How will
- 1:10Speaker 5: he do leading out in worship? Will he exercise his faith?
- 1:14Speaker 5: And meanwhile, Ariya and Lean just experienced car trouble on
- 1:18Speaker 5: their cross country road trip. Can they get the help
- 1:21Speaker 5: that they need? Let's check in with them now in
- 1:24Speaker 5: today's episode called trust.
- 1:27Speaker 6: Fall, Mom, maybe we should try starting the car again.
- 1:33Speaker 7: Lean, I'm sure, let's try.
- 1:36Speaker 2: It can't hurt, right.
- 1:39Speaker 1: It shouldn't.
- 1:49Speaker 7: Nothing, nothing, Lean, I have no idea what's wrong with
- 1:54Speaker 7: it or what to do.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Do we have enough money to fix it?
- 1:59Speaker 7: I'm afraid we won't have enough money for whatever's wrong.
- 2:04Speaker 7: This may be the end of the road for this car.
- 2:06Speaker 7: We've been through a lot together.
- 2:08Speaker 2: It is old. The back door won't open.
- 2:11Speaker 7: Well, there's only two of us, so we had an
- 2:14Speaker 7: extra door.
- 2:14Speaker 2: You could say, are we stuck here?
- 2:19Speaker 7: Well, we're in the middle of a state park in December.
- 2:23Speaker 7: There might not be another person for miles.
- 2:26Speaker 3: So.
- 2:28Speaker 2: No hot meal at that cafe.
- 2:30Speaker 7: I'm so sorry, Lean, but we've got let's see, crackers
- 2:36Speaker 7: and grapes and half a bag of corn chips, so
- 2:40Speaker 7: we won't starve.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Okay, what are we gonna do?
- 2:45Speaker 7: I look, we're in a safe spot, so that's the
- 2:51Speaker 7: most important thing.
- 2:52Speaker 1: I am so thankful for that.
- 2:54Speaker 2: But we're still sort of in the middle of nowhere.
- 2:58Speaker 7: Right I think in the more, we're just gonna have
- 3:00Speaker 7: to walk toward the town. It's gonna be dark soon.
- 3:04Speaker 7: We can get an early start tomorrow.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Walk that'll take hours.
- 3:09Speaker 1: I'm sorry, Lean, I don't know of any other options.
- 3:12Speaker 6: And then we don't even know if someone can help
- 3:15Speaker 6: us or if we can afford it.
- 3:18Speaker 7: Lean, I can pretty much guarantee that we can't afford it.
- 3:21Speaker 2: But Mom, are we gonna be okay?
- 3:25Speaker 1: Come here for a Hugson. One way or another, we
- 3:28Speaker 1: will be okay.
- 3:30Speaker 6: It feels like things keep getting worse, just one worse
- 3:34Speaker 6: thing after another.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it does. Is that a car?
- 3:40Speaker 2: There's someone else out here?
- 3:44Speaker 3: Good afternoon. Do you need some help?
- 3:47Speaker 4: Hi?
- 3:48Speaker 1: Yes, please?
- 3:50Speaker 7: We don't have any idea what's wrong with the car?
- 3:52Speaker 7: A bunch of steam came pouring out right as we
- 3:54Speaker 7: got here, and now it won't restart.
- 3:57Speaker 3: I see. Oh that's not good. Have you called anyone?
- 4:03Speaker 7: No, I'm not sure my phone even has a signal
- 4:05Speaker 7: out here in the park.
- 4:06Speaker 3: Well, my name's George Simon. I'd be glad to take
- 4:09Speaker 3: a look at it, though I know people who would
- 4:12Speaker 3: be a lot more helpful than I might be.
- 4:15Speaker 7: I'm not sure if the car's even worth salvaging. I
- 4:18Speaker 7: think I just drove it for the last time.
- 4:21Speaker 3: You're here, all the way from Vermont.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Uh.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a bit of a long story.
- 4:27Speaker 3: Well, I think your car problems are beyond what I
- 4:31Speaker 3: can help with. But i'd be glad to give you
- 4:33Speaker 3: a ride into town if you'd like.
- 4:36Speaker 1: That would be very generous of you. Thank you.
- 4:40Speaker 3: I can even give you a ride back in a
- 4:42Speaker 3: bit if you need it.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Oh, I don't want to impose.
- 4:45Speaker 3: It's no trouble you can get what you need and
- 4:48Speaker 3: I'll be ready when you are.
- 4:50Speaker 1: I'll just lock up then, Lee and you ready.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess.
- 4:56Speaker 7: So.
- 4:58Speaker 5: Aria closed up her vehicle and she and Liann got
- 5:01Speaker 5: inside mister Simon's car.
- 5:04Speaker 1: I'm Aria Mason. This is my son Lean.
- 5:08Speaker 2: Hi.
- 5:09Speaker 3: I'm glad I spotted you. I don't usually hang out
- 5:12Speaker 3: so much here, but a youth group from our church
- 5:15Speaker 3: is Polar Bear Camping. Oh fun, fun, adventurous anyway, so.
- 5:22Speaker 2: We're not the only ones s went to camping.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Mom, No, I guess.
- 5:25Speaker 3: Not having your own adventure.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Uh, sort of.
- 5:30Speaker 7: We passed through a town not too long before we
- 5:32Speaker 7: got to the campsite. I don't think I saw a
- 5:35Speaker 7: repair shop, but I wasn't really looking for one.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Well, we're headed to Discovery Mountain. It's not big, but
- 5:42Speaker 3: you should find all the help you need.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Is there a cafe?
- 5:47Speaker 3: Absolutely? And Ms Michelle will be happy to help with that.
- 5:55Speaker 8: But tens up.
- 5:56Speaker 9: We did it, Lanta.
- 5:58Speaker 8: Yeah, and it only took four tries and forty five minutes.
- 6:02Speaker 9: Well, practice makes perfect and you made it. It's finally
- 6:07Speaker 9: the weekend.
- 6:08Speaker 8: Well it's Friday. My mom's still trying to win Christmas though.
- 6:13Speaker 10: Oh what's happening now?
- 6:15Speaker 8: My mom says, we're driving to Texas because we need
- 6:17Speaker 8: more sunshine this time of year, you know, because it's
- 6:20Speaker 8: getting so dark so early out.
- 6:24Speaker 9: Yeah, my mom complains about that every winter to Texas.
- 6:28Speaker 8: Janet, it's gonna take forever. Hey, toss me my sleeping bag.
- 6:33Speaker 9: Well that is a long drive. Are you seeing family
- 6:38Speaker 9: in Texas?
- 6:39Speaker 8: No, that would be fun, but no, for sure, we
- 6:43Speaker 8: won't have snow on Christmas.
- 6:45Speaker 10: That is always pretty.
- 6:47Speaker 8: What's the point of living in the mountains if you
- 6:49Speaker 8: can't have snow on Christmas?
- 6:52Speaker 9: You know, in Ethiopia people celebrate Christmas on January seventh.
- 6:56Speaker 8: It's just wait, what really they still.
- 7:00Speaker 9: Use an old calendar, Julian. I think it's called for
- 7:04Speaker 9: religious holidays. I guess it's their tradition.
- 7:08Speaker 8: Oh well that's interesting.
- 7:11Speaker 9: Hey, come walk with us.
- 7:13Speaker 3: We're gonna check out the scenery.
- 7:14Speaker 9: Wanna go landa sure?
- 7:16Speaker 8: Uh, but I need my jacket and throw me my scarf.
- 7:21Speaker 8: Just grabbing a jacket's emittens. It's fleezing.
- 7:24Speaker 10: It's thirty seven degrees fair night.
- 7:26Speaker 3: That's several degrees above freezing.
- 7:28Speaker 8: Yeah, but that's still colder than we keep all the
- 7:31Speaker 8: flat filador.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Come on, exercise will warm you up.
- 7:37Speaker 8: So where's this obstacle close? You talked about hill?
- 7:41Speaker 2: I have no idea. This park is pretty big.
- 7:44Speaker 3: My parents took me there once years ago.
- 7:47Speaker 9: Is there a cave here?
- 7:48Speaker 10: Ooh, that'd be awesome.
- 7:50Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 7:51Speaker 10: We should look for a map, though, Addison, how's your
- 7:55Speaker 10: college scholarship quest?
- 7:57Speaker 9: Oh well, honestly, I don't have the first clue what
- 8:04Speaker 9: I even want to study in college.
- 8:06Speaker 1: I don't know if I should even bother with it
- 8:08Speaker 1: right now.
- 8:09Speaker 11: Oh well, you don't have to stick with what you
- 8:12Speaker 11: start with.
- 8:12Speaker 2: You can try different things and see how you like them.
- 8:15Speaker 1: I don't even know where to start.
- 8:17Speaker 2: What did you want to be when you were a
- 8:19Speaker 2: little kid?
- 8:20Speaker 1: You mean, what did I want to be when I
- 8:22Speaker 1: grew up? When I was younger?
- 8:24Speaker 2: Right?
- 8:25Speaker 1: I wanted to be a fireman.
- 8:26Speaker 11: Addison Tromblain, woman of fire lit I can picture that.
- 8:32Speaker 9: Yeah, well, I eventually decided I didn't want to crawl
- 8:35Speaker 9: through smoky passageways, So probably not.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Somebody's got to drive the firetruck. Don't give up on
- 8:42Speaker 2: your dreams, ads, So what's your college situation?
- 8:46Speaker 1: Mister silent man?
- 8:47Speaker 9: Carson Vermilion.
- 8:49Speaker 10: Uh me, I'm just enjoying the nice, cool weather. Glad
- 8:53Speaker 10: there's no snow on the ground.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Is that right?
- 8:56Speaker 1: What about college?
- 8:58Speaker 10: I I don't have a clue.
- 9:01Speaker 9: Glad, it's not just me who hasn't got their entire
- 9:03Speaker 9: life figured out.
- 9:04Speaker 2: What did you want to be when you were young, Carson, I.
- 9:06Speaker 10: Don't know a photographer?
- 9:09Speaker 1: Really, do you take a lot of pictures?
- 9:12Speaker 10: Not really, I don't have a good camera, just my
- 9:14Speaker 10: cheap ole phone.
- 9:16Speaker 11: Dude, you can still practice take my senior photos with
- 9:20Speaker 11: my phone.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Well, my dad loves photography.
- 9:23Speaker 7: He always says the best camera in the world is
- 9:25Speaker 7: the one you have.
- 9:26Speaker 10: I mean that's a thought.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Well, I think it just means to use the tools
- 9:30Speaker 1: you have.
- 9:31Speaker 9: Don't let wishing you had something better stop you from
- 9:34Speaker 9: practicing or making art.
- 9:36Speaker 10: Well, I know that I could get a lot better
- 9:38Speaker 10: picks with a proper camera.
- 9:40Speaker 11: I'm sure, But I've seen some amazing picks people made
- 9:43Speaker 11: with just their phones.
- 9:45Speaker 12: What kind of pictures do you like to take, people,
- 9:49Speaker 12: I guess, well, I've only ever seen you take selfies.
- 9:53Speaker 10: Well, I mostly just photograph my old action figures.
- 9:56Speaker 2: Really, like with different backgrounds and stuff. Uh? Yeah, can
- 10:02Speaker 2: we see. Are there some on your phone right now? Uh?
- 10:06Speaker 10: They're not great?
- 10:08Speaker 2: Hey, guys, what's happening? Rihanna? Carson was about to show
- 10:11Speaker 2: us some of his photographic art.
- 10:13Speaker 10: Dude, I don't only have anything good to show. When
- 10:16Speaker 10: I have something decent, I'll let you know.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Okay, hey, check it out.
- 10:21Speaker 8: Okay, there's really a cave.
- 10:24Speaker 10: Yep, look at the sign Rickman's Cave one quarter mile
- 10:28Speaker 10: that away.
- 10:31Speaker 5: The youth group camp out is shaping up to be
- 10:33Speaker 5: a fun weekend. Meanwhile, Aria and Lion are on their
- 10:37Speaker 5: way to Discovery Mountain. We'll catch up with them right
- 10:40Speaker 5: after this. Let's join Aria and Lian as they arrive
- 10:47Speaker 5: in Discovery and look for some help with their car trouble.
- 10:53Speaker 3: Welcome to the Discovery Mountain. There's an auto repair place
- 10:57Speaker 3: just up the street on the right. They are depend
- 11:00Speaker 3: Thank you. I'll be here at Trekkers. Just come on
- 11:04Speaker 3: back here and I can take you back to your
- 11:06Speaker 3: campsite anytime you're ready.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Oh, thank you, thank you.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Mister Simon, you're welcome.
- 11:12Speaker 1: Come on Lean, take care, Thanks you too.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Mom.
- 11:17Speaker 7: What now, let's grab some dinner at that cafe.
- 11:22Speaker 2: Can we get ford it now? With the car broken?
- 11:25Speaker 7: Down, Honey, I need time to think and somewhere to
- 11:28Speaker 7: sit down. Let's get some good food in our bellies
- 11:31Speaker 7: and then we can figure out our options.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Lord willing, okay, Mom.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Good afternoon for two. Yes, ma'am. How's this table by
- 11:44Speaker 1: the window? Great? Thank you?
- 11:47Speaker 4: Can I get you started with something to drink?
- 11:50Speaker 1: Water for me? Thanks?
- 11:52Speaker 2: Leon lemonade? Please, I'll be right back. This place looks nice.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Yeah, get whatever you want within reason.
- 12:04Speaker 6: They've got some great desserts, mint brownies, apple pie, raspberry crumble.
- 12:10Speaker 7: Let's start with something nutritious before dessert.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Sun. Can I have breakfast food?
- 12:15Speaker 3: Okay?
- 12:15Speaker 6: Then I'll have pancakes chocolate chip fine.
- 12:20Speaker 2: They come with a side of fruit or hash browns.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Nice. I'll have a spinach omelet. Here you go. Are
- 12:30Speaker 1: you ready to order up? Thank you. You're wearing a
- 12:33Speaker 1: lot of hats today.
- 12:35Speaker 3: Oh it's true.
- 12:36Speaker 4: We've got two of our staff, including Michelle herself, on
- 12:39Speaker 4: a campout, so I'm picking up the slack.
- 12:42Speaker 1: Oh wow, this town must love the outdoors.
- 12:45Speaker 7: We met somebody else today who said he was out
- 12:47Speaker 7: camping in the cold.
- 12:49Speaker 4: It's a beautiful place to be for sure, though I
- 12:52Speaker 4: prefer the indoors.
- 12:53Speaker 8: This time of year.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Are you just passing through? That's the plan now.
- 12:58Speaker 7: I'd like your spinach lit and do you still want
- 13:01Speaker 7: the chocolate chip pancakes.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Yep, with the side of fruit perfect.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks, we'll do.
- 13:11Speaker 2: Mom. What are we going to do?
- 13:13Speaker 7: We are going to enjoy a nice dinner and clear
- 13:16Speaker 7: our heads.
- 13:17Speaker 1: How's that lemonade?
- 13:22Speaker 2: It's good.
- 13:24Speaker 7: We need to find some help, but I'm afraid we're
- 13:27Speaker 7: stuck here for at least the weekend.
- 13:29Speaker 2: What do you think is wrong with the car?
- 13:31Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 13:33Speaker 7: It's an old car that I've somehow managed to keep
- 13:35Speaker 7: alive by using it as little as possible.
- 13:38Speaker 1: I guess this trip was just too much for it.
- 13:41Speaker 6: At least it didn't die on us in the middle
- 13:43Speaker 6: of nowhere, and we have the campsite to sleep at.
- 13:46Speaker 7: Yes, that is a blessing. Hopefully the weather stays mild.
- 13:51Speaker 2: Do you think the car can even be fixed?
- 13:54Speaker 1: Well, anything can be fixed, presumably.
- 13:57Speaker 6: I was just wondering do they even make parts for
- 14:00Speaker 6: it anymore? I never see anyone driving a car that
- 14:03Speaker 6: looks anything like ours.
- 14:05Speaker 7: I'm sure there's a junk yard nearby that has what
- 14:08Speaker 7: we need.
- 14:10Speaker 6: Mom. Yeah, son, I wish I could at least have
- 14:14Speaker 6: finished this semester before we left.
- 14:16Speaker 2: I mean, it was my first semester of high school.
- 14:19Speaker 7: I know, but I appreciated how your teachers made sure
- 14:23Speaker 7: you had the credit you needed.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Yeah. I'll be able to start at a new school
- 14:28Speaker 2: for the next semester, right A.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Yes, absolutely, mom.
- 14:34Speaker 2: This town seems nice but kind of old. Oh yeah,
- 14:40Speaker 2: where's everyone my age?
- 14:43Speaker 1: Here you go?
- 14:45Speaker 4: Chocolate chip pancakes and fruit and one spinach omelet.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Oh thank you.
- 14:50Speaker 4: Thanks, I can recall your drinks or is there anything
- 14:53Speaker 4: else that can help you with you know, To be honest,
- 14:56Speaker 4: we've never been here before or anywhere near here.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Oh well, welcome, thank you. Anyway, our car broke downright
- 15:05Speaker 1: as we got here. Oh no, yeah.
- 15:08Speaker 7: The man who gave us a ride back to town
- 15:10Speaker 7: recommended a repair place down the street.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Do you know how good they are or if they're
- 15:14Speaker 1: really expensive or you know, Oh, they'll take great care
- 15:19Speaker 1: of you. Don't worry.
- 15:20Speaker 4: It's the only shop and Discovery Mountain. Is your car
- 15:23Speaker 4: still by the side of the road somewhere?
- 15:25Speaker 7: Oh no, it's at the state park a ways out.
- 15:29Speaker 7: I'm not looking forward to the build for towing it.
- 15:32Speaker 3: Hmm.
- 15:33Speaker 1: You know, I wonder if Stan could help you with that.
- 15:36Speaker 1: I could give you his number. Oh, thank you, that
- 15:39Speaker 1: would be great, sure thing. Let me go refill those drinks.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Oh there's a Wi Fi coat on the wall here.
- 15:46Speaker 1: I forgot all about trying to get Jessica's number. Let
- 15:50Speaker 1: me just message my friend again.
- 15:52Speaker 2: Mom. Yes, eat your omelet before it gets cold.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Yes, thank you, Lian. I will.
- 16:02Speaker 5: After their meal, Aria and Linn visit the repair shop
- 16:06Speaker 5: and make arrangements for Stan to tow their car. We'll
- 16:09Speaker 5: catch up with them at the campground and find out
- 16:11Speaker 5: what else is happening there.
- 16:13Speaker 10: After this.
- 16:18Speaker 5: Back at the campground, it's almost time for youth group
- 16:21Speaker 5: evening worship.
- 16:22Speaker 11: Let's join them, Carson, are you ready as I'll ever be?
- 16:30Speaker 10: Alrighty, everybody, it's almost time for worship, so let's all
- 16:33Speaker 10: meet around the campfire.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Mister Simon's back.
- 16:39Speaker 8: Who have you been? Mister Simon?
- 16:42Speaker 3: Hey? Everyone, I'm at a family having car trouble, so
- 16:45Speaker 3: I gave them a lift.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Did they get their car fixed?
- 16:48Speaker 3: It sounds like it won't be an easy repair. Stan
- 16:52Speaker 3: help them get their car towed into town.
- 16:54Speaker 2: Is it anyone we know no.
- 16:56Speaker 3: As a matter of fact, they're just passing through on
- 16:59Speaker 3: their way to somewhere else. But I know they could
- 17:02Speaker 3: use our prayers. Their names are Aria and Leon.
- 17:06Speaker 10: How about we see a special prayer for them right now.
- 17:09Speaker 3: That's a great idea I can pray since I've met them.
- 17:13Speaker 10: Yes, please, mister Simon, Well.
- 17:15Speaker 3: Father and Heaven, thank you for putting me today where
- 17:19Speaker 3: I could help Aria and Lion. You know their needs
- 17:22Speaker 3: and we know you're watching over them. Please protect and
- 17:27Speaker 3: provide for them and sort out everything according to your
- 17:31Speaker 3: wisdom in Jesus' name.
- 17:34Speaker 8: Amen, mister Simon, is there anything we can do for them?
- 17:39Speaker 3: Good question. I'm going to check with them tomorrow.
- 17:44Speaker 10: You got this, Carson.
- 17:45Speaker 2: What can possibly go wrong? Oh? Everything?
- 17:49Speaker 1: Okay, Carson, let's do.
- 17:51Speaker 10: This as you came out of nowhere.
- 17:54Speaker 1: Carson, You're going to do great.
- 17:56Speaker 2: After all, you're among friends for real, Carson.
- 18:00Speaker 10: Sure?
- 18:00Speaker 2: I mean thanks? Come on, good.
- 18:04Speaker 11: Evening everyone, and now it's time for evening worship with
- 18:08Speaker 11: Carson and ads.
- 18:12Speaker 10: Thanks guys.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Uh.
- 18:14Speaker 10: Today we're talking about trust. Everybody, come over here by
- 18:18Speaker 10: this stump.
- 18:19Speaker 8: Okay.
- 18:22Speaker 10: Today we're going to explore trust by falling backwards. Our
- 18:29Speaker 10: man Cyrus is going to demonstrate. Cyrus, please step up
- 18:33Speaker 10: on that stump. Sure think boss, It's less than a
- 18:37Speaker 10: foot off the ground, but it'll do nicely. Harold Kyler
- 18:40Speaker 10: and I are going to stand right here. We've got
- 18:44Speaker 10: your back, Cyrus. Cyrus, you'll note that we've cleared the
- 18:47Speaker 10: ground of all rock sticks and other blunt objects.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Just nice soft ground behind me. Got it right?
- 18:55Speaker 10: Everybody noticed that Cyrus is standing with his back to
- 18:58Speaker 10: us and his arms crossed over his chest. Now, Harold
- 19:01Speaker 10: Kyler and I are interlocking our hands, creating a net
- 19:05Speaker 10: of arms. Addison, will you confirm that our arms are
- 19:08Speaker 10: securely linked?
- 19:10Speaker 2: Can confirm, Cyrus, you have nothing to worry about. Thanks sad, Cyrus.
- 19:16Speaker 10: Will you confirm that you are doing this completely willingly,
- 19:19Speaker 10: that no one is forcing you, and that you understand
- 19:22Speaker 10: all the risks involved.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Uh sure, Carson? All that great here?
- 19:27Speaker 10: Addison, please assist Cyrus in putting on this blindfold?
- 19:31Speaker 3: Now?
- 19:31Speaker 10: Is it nice and snug?
- 19:33Speaker 2: Uh? Yeah? But it's plenty dark out here already.
- 19:37Speaker 10: He's all set, Carson, perfect, Cyrus, set the count of three,
- 19:41Speaker 10: fall backwards into our waiting arms. Can't wait, Carson, Everybody?
- 19:47Speaker 2: Why ye here goes three.
- 19:55Speaker 10: Beautiful Cyrus, how was it?
- 19:58Speaker 11: Even though we practic does this earlier with the step stool,
- 20:02Speaker 11: it was still pretty unnervy.
- 20:04Speaker 10: Okay, everyone, pay attention to Carson Cyrus. What have you
- 20:08Speaker 10: just learned about trust?
- 20:10Speaker 6: Uh?
- 20:10Speaker 11: My grandfather always told me to look before you leap,
- 20:13Speaker 11: But I guess this was kind of the opposite of
- 20:15Speaker 11: leaping so.
- 20:17Speaker 10: Exactly, so maybe not so much a leap of faith
- 20:20Speaker 10: as a well a trust fall.
- 20:23Speaker 2: Pretty much?
- 20:25Speaker 6: All right?
- 20:25Speaker 10: Do we have any more volunteers? One to fall and
- 20:28Speaker 10: a few others to catch. I'll fall from the ground
- 20:31Speaker 10: or from the stump. The ground works for me.
- 20:35Speaker 1: I'll catch her me too.
- 20:37Speaker 10: Me three? Awesome, Addison, help our volunteer with that blindfold.
- 20:41Speaker 1: I'm on it and perfect.
- 20:45Speaker 10: It's really dark now, yes, and good job looking up
- 20:49Speaker 10: Haley Land and Janet Rihanna? Are you ready?
- 20:53Speaker 4: Uh?
- 20:53Speaker 2: I guess so?
- 20:55Speaker 10: All right, let's count.
- 20:59Speaker 4: Three.
- 21:02Speaker 2: I survived. Great job, Rihanna.
- 21:05Speaker 10: Now, who wants to try next?
- 21:08Speaker 5: One by one, all the teens participated in the exercise,
- 21:12Speaker 5: either falling, catching.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Or both.
- 21:15Speaker 5: Finally, after one last fall.
- 21:19Speaker 13: I've got you chap on, Jake Okiday, why to three?
- 21:33Speaker 5: The group gathered back around the campfire to talk.
- 21:36Speaker 2: Beautiful job everyone, no lasting injuries.
- 21:40Speaker 3: I think I hit my head on Kyler's elbow, but
- 21:42Speaker 3: it's okay.
- 21:43Speaker 10: Oh sorry, Harold.
- 21:45Speaker 1: What did the trustfall feel like?
- 21:47Speaker 9: It felt like I was falling into a void.
- 21:50Speaker 10: Yeah, I'm gonna have ninemares about plunging into the abyss Cyrus.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Was it easier because you've already practiced it before?
- 21:57Speaker 11: It was still weird, but this time I was more
- 22:00Speaker 11: confident they'd actually catch me.
- 22:02Speaker 2: What does this show you about trusting God anyone?
- 22:05Speaker 9: Well, a lot of time in life, it feels like
- 22:08Speaker 9: you're in the dark, not sure just where you're going
- 22:10Speaker 9: or why.
- 22:11Speaker 2: I know that feeling. It definitely made me think of
- 22:14Speaker 2: trusting God. But it also reminds me that we've got
- 22:18Speaker 2: to watch out for each other.
- 22:20Speaker 10: This week, I felt like I was doing a trustfall
- 22:22Speaker 10: with God because I absolutely did not want to lead out.
- 22:26Speaker 10: But it worked out. Okay. I guess at least snow
- 22:30Speaker 10: bones were broken.
- 22:32Speaker 2: Great job, both of you.
- 22:34Speaker 10: Strong work, Chaplin Jake, How do we do?
- 22:37Speaker 2: Did victim? Now? Let's sing? Who wants to start?
- 22:43Speaker 9: I will Kyler over to you.
- 22:46Speaker 5: As the youth group told stories around the campfire, not
- 22:50Speaker 5: far away? Are you prayed?
- 22:53Speaker 2: God?
- 22:55Speaker 1: I know I haven't talked to you in a while,
- 22:58Speaker 1: a long while, But I don't know what to do.
- 23:02Speaker 12: Whatever that repair costs, I can't afford it. I think
- 23:07Speaker 12: I've made a huge mistake. Please God help us.
- 23:14Speaker 6: The next morning, Mom, there are definitely other people here.
- 23:21Speaker 2: I heard people laughing and talking last night.
- 23:24Speaker 1: Yeah, me too.
- 23:25Speaker 7: I had trouble sleeping, and then I heard the most
- 23:28Speaker 7: beautiful singing.
- 23:29Speaker 2: We should go for a walk before we eat breakfast.
- 23:32Speaker 2: See if we can see them.
- 23:33Speaker 1: Yeah, let's.
- 23:38Speaker 2: There they are. Oh, hey, good morning, Hi, good morning
- 23:45Speaker 2: you two.
- 23:46Speaker 1: Mister Simon, you know them?
- 23:49Speaker 3: Sure do? Would you like to join us for breakfast?
- 23:55Speaker 5: Director Doug? Would you fall and then let someone catch you?
- 24:00Speaker 7: Wow?
- 24:00Speaker 2: That's how a lot of life is, isn't it. We
- 24:03Speaker 2: go on trusting God to have our back.
- 24:06Speaker 5: That's true, and that reminds me of Naem chapter one
- 24:09Speaker 5: and verse seven.
- 24:10Speaker 6: Oh.
- 24:10Speaker 10: I love this verse.
- 24:12Speaker 2: The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble.
- 24:15Speaker 2: He cares for those who trust in him.
- 24:17Speaker 5: That's a beautiful promise, one that maybe would encourage Ariya.
- 24:22Speaker 3: Yeah, she's worried about her car repairs.
- 24:24Speaker 5: Maybe the campers can help exercise their faith.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Well, we'll find out next time.
