- 0:09Speaker 1: Inside the Birds is back. What's going on, everybody? It's
- 0:14Speaker 1: Jeff Mosher and Adam Kaplan And guess what. We just
- 0:18Speaker 1: finished a podcast series going through every single positional position
- 0:22Speaker 1: on the Eagles and the depth chart and giving intel
- 0:24Speaker 1: on that. We're about to start a new series and
- 0:27Speaker 1: I'm really looking forward to this one. It'll be a
- 0:28Speaker 1: little bit shorter. What we're gonna do is go through
- 0:31Speaker 1: the Eagles schedule, and what we've done is break it
- 0:33Speaker 1: up into four parts. All right, We're gonna start off
- 0:37Speaker 1: with the early part as the schedule goes on, and
- 0:39Speaker 1: then for the next three podcasts gets to the end.
- 0:41Speaker 1: But we're gonna go through the matchups of who they
- 0:44Speaker 1: play and really get into, Adam right, the nitty gritty
- 0:48Speaker 1: of the matchups, the strategies of all the new coaches,
- 0:51Speaker 1: the new schemes of philosophies the Eagles.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Are going to be seeing week to week basis.
- 0:56Speaker 1: And that's what I really love about it at this
- 0:57Speaker 1: time of the year in May, to be able to
- 0:59Speaker 1: really get like football junkie talk and really good intel.
- 1:04Speaker 2: A lot of that comes. We talked to so many
- 1:05Speaker 2: people for the pre.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Draft process from other teams, and we kind of know
- 1:08Speaker 1: what they're thinking, what they're doing, and it's good intel
- 1:11Speaker 1: to use in these situations because then the egos wind
- 1:14Speaker 1: up playing them this season. So I really looking forward
- 1:17Speaker 1: to this podcast series.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Yeah, looking forward to it. It's it's gonna be interesting
- 1:22Speaker 3: to see what happens. It really is because nothing stays
- 1:24Speaker 3: the same with the National Football And that's why I
- 1:26Speaker 3: kind of laugh at strength of schedule. No NFL team
- 1:29Speaker 3: stays exactly the same, Like literally, no team does like
- 1:32Speaker 3: that in a Dallas though Dallas will get into them later.
- 1:35Speaker 3: No show they're running back their entire offense. That like
- 1:38Speaker 3: doesn't happen starting eleven. It's it's extremely rare, but hey,
- 1:42Speaker 3: they're doing it. I mean usually have one change, right, Yeah,
- 1:46Speaker 3: staffs change, personnel, staff change. And by the way, when
- 1:48Speaker 3: I do my own strength of schedule, I add that
- 1:50Speaker 3: in there because if a team has an injury, how
- 1:53Speaker 3: thoughtful are they? Are? They smart enough for they aggressively?
- 1:56Speaker 3: Howie that matters to me when you look at strength
- 1:59Speaker 3: to schedule.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure for sure.
- 2:01Speaker 1: So in this podcast, we're gonna do weeks one through four,
- 2:04Speaker 1: So it starts off week one Verse Commanders Week two
- 2:07Speaker 1: at Titans Week three at Bears, Week four verse Rams.
- 2:10Speaker 1: And the interesting thing, to your point, Adam, is not
- 2:13Speaker 1: just that three of those four teams Eagles played last year,
- 2:16Speaker 1: but there's a lot of differences with them, and it
- 2:17Speaker 1: really starts in Week one against the Commanders, because to
- 2:22Speaker 1: your point, there is a lot that is different with
- 2:25Speaker 1: the Washington Commanders, including a new offensive coordinator and a
- 2:30Speaker 1: new defensive coordinator. And what I really think is cool
- 2:33Speaker 1: about this being a week one matchup, besides the fact
- 2:37Speaker 1: that last year you had to wait till Week sixteen
- 2:40Speaker 1: for the first of the matchup.
- 2:41Speaker 2: By the time you got it, and it was ridiculous.
- 2:43Speaker 2: My time you got the Commanders.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Were out ye. So yeah, what I like about this
- 2:47Speaker 1: is that the Eagles and Commanders offensively are trying to
- 2:52Speaker 1: get to the same point with similar schemes and styles,
- 2:56Speaker 1: different people but and different personnel, but with similar scheme philosophy.
- 3:02Speaker 2: So what I mean is you obviously the Eagles are
- 3:04Speaker 2: Sean Mannion. They bring him in.
- 3:06Speaker 1: We talked about the the McVeigh and Lafleur influences of
- 3:10Speaker 1: that kind of an offense. And David Blow is that
- 3:13Speaker 1: that pronounce yeah yeah, yeah, and knew who is I'll
- 3:17Speaker 1: let you talk about this, but he's sort of like
- 3:20Speaker 1: a Manion story and like he's very inexperienced too and
- 3:23Speaker 1: trying to do offensively the same things.
- 3:26Speaker 3: He's another guy. This I believe will be his third
- 3:29Speaker 3: year coaching. Right, I'll double check it's either I think
- 3:33Speaker 3: it's his third year. It's either second or third year,
- 3:35Speaker 3: but I believe it's his third. Nevertheless, like this is
- 3:38Speaker 3: a huge jump for this guy. Now Here's what I
- 3:39Speaker 3: was told. They were so con First of all, Cliff
- 3:44Speaker 3: Kingsbury and Dan Quinn had they just they didn't see
- 3:47Speaker 3: how to eye on the structure of the offense in
- 3:51Speaker 3: terms of when to run what kind of the outlook
- 3:55Speaker 3: of the scheme. Right, Cliff Kingsbury runs his scheme, he
- 3:58Speaker 3: was great in year one. Nobody had a problem with him.
- 4:00Speaker 3: You're two, Quinn and I was told that they just
- 4:04Speaker 3: didn't see eye to eye. And they were also concerned
- 4:07Speaker 3: with David blow Leaving being hired potentially by the guy
- 4:11Speaker 3: who got tutored by him or the guy who tutor
- 4:14Speaker 3: blocs use me, Ben Johnson the source. One person told
- 4:19Speaker 3: me that Ben Johnson might have hired him to maybe
- 4:23Speaker 3: he'd be the non play calling OC obviously, but with Washington,
- 4:27Speaker 3: he's going to call the plays like this is a
- 4:29Speaker 3: big jump man. He just retired a couple years ago.
- 4:31Speaker 3: He was a He was a undrafted journeyman type, you know,
- 4:35Speaker 3: very smart. Uh, got brought up in the West Coast scheme,
- 4:39Speaker 3: Ben Johnson's version of it. Johnson is a West Coast guy,
- 4:41Speaker 3: but he's got his own version of it. Yep, and uh,
- 4:44Speaker 3: it's it's fascinating. So their offensive line schemes changed, I'm
- 4:49Speaker 3: told has changed completely. It's it's zone. Its zone. They
- 4:53Speaker 3: were a combination of gap and zone. That's changing. So
- 4:58Speaker 3: and then defensively, Darante Jones comes in and he's gonna
- 5:00Speaker 3: run a thirty four now like you could say he's
- 5:04Speaker 3: he's certainly in a way a disciple of Flores, but
- 5:09Speaker 3: nobody sees it like Brian Flores man. He's just like
- 5:12Speaker 3: so an orthodox. Right. Remember the game back and was
- 5:16Speaker 3: it twenty thirteen or twenty twenty two, I don't remember.
- 5:19Speaker 3: They played the Eagles on a Monday night. They decided
- 5:22Speaker 3: they're gonna drop like nine and rush eight.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Ye I mean rushed two.
- 5:25Speaker 3: And he was running hell out of it with Jeandre
- 5:27Speaker 3: Swift I think.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Yeah, and not only that, they were putting like off
- 5:30Speaker 1: ball linebackers on the line of scrimmage like this instead
- 5:33Speaker 1: of down linemen. Yeah, I was like, why is Jordan
- 5:35Speaker 1: Hicks playing a three technique or something like that?
- 5:37Speaker 3: It was It was was wild. But Brian Flores is
- 5:40Speaker 3: brilliant and Danty Jones is seen as very very sharp.
- 5:45Speaker 3: And we'll see now the big problem for Washington and
- 5:49Speaker 3: they know it. It was a mistake. I know why
- 5:52Speaker 3: they did it. They went fort last year. They brought
- 5:55Speaker 3: in a bunch of older players. You know, this is
- 5:57Speaker 3: what happens the front offices, particularly gentleman. They come out
- 6:01Speaker 3: of the blue. You know, they were a special team
- 6:04Speaker 3: in year one. They have a special quarterback in Jade Daniels.
- 6:08Speaker 3: He was elite as a rookie and they were great.
- 6:11Speaker 3: They got boat raced by the Eagles in the championship game,
- 6:13Speaker 3: but you know that that happens. But they were really hurt.
- 6:17Speaker 3: They were really old last year. And Adam Peters, a
- 6:20Speaker 3: GM admitted on the record he talked about with them media.
- 6:22Speaker 3: They don't want to be like that, and they've got younger.
- 6:25Speaker 3: They still have some older players who are locked into contract. Wise,
- 6:27Speaker 3: but they've got much younger and offensively folks. It's I
- 6:32Speaker 3: would think. I know they're very high on an TONI.
- 6:36Speaker 3: Williams was a guy that we were very high on
- 6:37Speaker 3: the pre pre draft process out of Clemson. The coaches
- 6:41Speaker 3: we talked to like him should be their slot receiver.
- 6:44Speaker 3: But Jammy Brown's back after his one year, ten million
- 6:46Speaker 3: dollars deal which didn't work out with Jacksonville. He was
- 6:48Speaker 3: hurt a lot. He's back. He can run Clorin Obviously,
- 6:51Speaker 3: Burks did Treylon Burks before he heard his finger played well.
- 6:55Speaker 3: But Deebo Samuel their fascination. By the way, with Brandon Ayuk,
- 7:01Speaker 3: I get it. Peters was there with Brandon Ayuk. Ayuk
- 7:03Speaker 3: has had an ac entry. Uh, he was sort of
- 7:06Speaker 3: disconnected from the club. It's a very odd situation, not
- 7:10Speaker 3: a secret. Washington wants them. San Francisco's not take is
- 7:13Speaker 3: going to take their time. Whenever you feel like they're
- 7:15Speaker 3: going to release them, they'll release him. But I don't
- 7:18Speaker 3: know why Peters is so hell bent on getting a
- 7:22Speaker 3: guy that, like, all of a sudden, he's going to
- 7:24Speaker 3: know more than everybody else does, Like he canting handled
- 7:26Speaker 3: this guy.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I guess the idea is this, right A.
- 7:32Speaker 1: If there's one area where the commanders are really falling
- 7:35Speaker 1: short as they try to get back to being a contender,
- 7:38Speaker 1: is that for all the improves they mint they made
- 7:41Speaker 1: on the offensive line, they just have not surrounded Jane
- 7:45Speaker 1: Daniels with a whole lot of young, explosive talent. Now,
- 7:47Speaker 1: it's nice to have to your point, like Terry McLaurin,
- 7:50Speaker 1: And yes, they drafted Antonio Williams, and we saw a
- 7:53Speaker 1: little bit of a renaissance last year from Treylon Brooks,
- 7:56Speaker 1: but you know you're running back to their Bill Jacclowski
- 7:58Speaker 1: marriage Rushad. Why we'll see if Kate Roan Allen can
- 8:02Speaker 1: make a difference. And honestly, McLaurin was hurt a lot
- 8:05Speaker 1: last year and he's he's a good receiver. He's a
- 8:07Speaker 1: very consistent thousand yard receiver. I took nothing away, but
- 8:10Speaker 1: when he was at his best, Brandon Ayuk was an
- 8:12Speaker 1: absolute out. You up and just make break your ankles guy.
- 8:16Speaker 1: And if and if you give up nothing to just
- 8:19Speaker 1: sign that guy and he can get his head straight
- 8:22Speaker 1: and he's recovered from the industry from the injury. You
- 8:25Speaker 1: get it yourself a major steal there.
- 8:27Speaker 3: So three or four years ago, I was at Niners
- 8:30Speaker 3: camp and I just remember talking to one of the
- 8:31Speaker 3: coaches and I just abused the defense. He was just unbelievable.
- 8:37Speaker 3: Like you've been a hundred two hundred practice PARBTM in
- 8:39Speaker 3: your life, maybe more. You probably could remember some of
- 8:42Speaker 3: the great elite practice from probably Eagles practices and sometimes
- 8:46Speaker 3: Joined practice, who knows. Yeah, but it was kind of embarrassing,
- 8:50Speaker 3: like they could not defend this guy and he's he's
- 8:52Speaker 3: unbelievably talented. And Kyle Shanahan got in his sleep. This
- 8:56Speaker 3: is when hands Shanahan, we're having issues. Ayuk was a
- 9:00Speaker 3: sort of to himself guy and uh I might have
- 9:03Speaker 3: been during a bye week Shathan they met and he
- 9:08Speaker 3: he let him know on their notes on certain terms
- 9:10Speaker 3: like this, I expect to be way better. Your purchase
- 9:12Speaker 3: gotta be better. And anyway mm hm, uh I got
- 9:15Speaker 3: the got with the program. He was elite and then unfortunately,
- 9:21Speaker 3: you know, he tours a c L. He was almost
- 9:24Speaker 3: he was very closely traded to Pittsburgh and then he
- 9:27Speaker 3: you know again he turns a cl and then here
- 9:29Speaker 3: you are and they want him so to move this along.
- 9:31Speaker 3: Here a lot of these, A lot of the injury
- 9:33Speaker 3: guys are back. They're feeling better about their offensive like
- 9:36Speaker 3: a Conco will be their move tight end. John bateses
- 9:38Speaker 3: with the why Ben sin It has not worked out
- 9:41Speaker 3: in the first years? Was the second round pick they
- 9:42Speaker 3: overdrafted him. You mentioned the running game cross Key America
- 9:45Speaker 3: is not in every down back. They don't see him
- 9:47Speaker 3: that way. He's not powerful enough mm hm for for
- 9:51Speaker 3: people in Fantasy Dynasty League, Kethron Allen, get him Rashad
- 9:54Speaker 3: Waite in a one year deal. Hell, he'll see Tom
- 9:56Speaker 3: on third down, Alan could and Jerome Ford. I forgot
- 9:59Speaker 3: he's on there. Count handle the third down a little bit.
- 10:02Speaker 3: K Tron Allen, the Dynasty has a chance down the road.
- 10:06Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I think so.
- 10:08Speaker 1: By the way, Blao has only been a coach for
- 10:11Speaker 1: two years, so just like man he was the assistant
- 10:13Speaker 1: quarterbacks coach for the Commanders.
- 10:14Speaker 3: So hang on, is this his second year?
- 10:18Speaker 2: No, this will be his third year.
- 10:20Speaker 3: Yeah, that would be thirty right. Yeah, that's scary that
- 10:24Speaker 3: that is.
- 10:24Speaker 1: It's that's what we've been saying about Manion. It's the
- 10:27Speaker 1: same thing. Never run a room. Only been a coach
- 10:30Speaker 1: for two years.
- 10:31Speaker 3: You know, I never really had this kind of pilit
- 10:35Speaker 3: you know, but you just I remember our friend John g.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Filippa when he was for first time playing GOLL with Cleveland.
- 10:42Speaker 3: So like John said, you gotta do it someday. Yeah,
- 10:46Speaker 3: and John did so well. I got interviewed at forty
- 10:48Speaker 3: nine ers next year for the be of their head coach.
- 10:50Speaker 3: That went to Chip Kelly, right.
- 10:51Speaker 1: I mean it was Kellen Moore who had the very
- 10:53Speaker 1: similar background and then had a number One offense in
- 10:56Speaker 1: his first So it can it can be done.
- 10:57Speaker 3: Sure, it could be done.
- 10:58Speaker 1: All right.
- 10:59Speaker 3: So that offensively, Daniels's back his health, He's got to
- 11:02Speaker 3: build his body up. Cosmey's back. Connelly was terrific at
- 11:08Speaker 3: right tackle as a rookie. Tunsall was great at left tackle.
- 11:12Speaker 3: There's still a little questionable at center and left guard.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Chris Paul's a good run blocker. They believe he might
- 11:17Speaker 3: be Stralla's offensive lineman.
- 11:19Speaker 2: You've been talking about him for two years.
- 11:21Speaker 3: Yeah, we talked about He didn't get that. You know
- 11:24Speaker 3: what the problem is. I guess no one else saw
- 11:25Speaker 3: it what we had heard. He didn't get the good
- 11:27Speaker 3: free agent deal. But he's back. They liked him obviously
- 11:29Speaker 3: they went in him back. Now defensively their past rush.
- 11:33Speaker 3: We were joking, how much like the kid Martin, the
- 11:38Speaker 3: pass rusher from Jacob Martin, the pass rusher from Temple.
- 11:42Speaker 3: I would choke him as a thing. Nine years ago they
- 11:44Speaker 3: brought him in. He was their fifth pas rusher. They
- 11:46Speaker 3: became their number one because everybody got hurt. Yeah, so
- 11:49Speaker 3: they're running. They're moved to a thirty four. A. Daffielway
- 11:52Speaker 3: had sort of a breakout season after the trade with
- 11:55Speaker 3: coming over from Baltimore to the Chargers. Chasing talked about
- 12:00Speaker 3: he wanted to get paid. He got paid one. I
- 12:03Speaker 3: believe it's a one year deal with good money. Right,
- 12:05Speaker 3: Leo movable chest piece, Sunny Styles could wind up being
- 12:10Speaker 3: the best player out of this draft to three years.
- 12:13Speaker 3: Like now, I know it's a it's a big jump.
- 12:16Speaker 3: He's been playing linebacker very long. But the talent that
- 12:19Speaker 3: he's freakish.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Yeah, and and to put him in a Dernte Jones
- 12:23Speaker 1: slash Brian Flores type system where you're probably gonna move
- 12:26Speaker 1: him around and on third down you're gonna blitz him
- 12:28Speaker 1: from all angles and he's gonna come at you. With
- 12:31Speaker 1: all that thought, I mean, it's it's gonna work. It's
- 12:33Speaker 1: hard not to see. It's hard to see it not working.
- 12:35Speaker 1: But honestly, Adam that I think the trickle down effect
- 12:39Speaker 1: of signing leoshanal good run stopping one backer right, adding
- 12:43Speaker 1: Sunny Styles allows them to use Frankie Luvu more situationally.
- 12:47Speaker 2: He to me, he is a better pass rusher.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Than he is a downhill linebacker or a coverage he
- 12:52Speaker 1: gets exposed. You know, last year they would just splash. Yeah,
- 12:56Speaker 1: last year they just wound up putting him on the edge,
- 12:59Speaker 1: as you were saying, only Jacob Martin. They didn't have
- 13:01Speaker 1: too much edge rushers. But now with more edge depth
- 13:05Speaker 1: with Calevon Chason and of course in Oway, they can
- 13:09Speaker 1: be a little bit more judicious and how and when
- 13:12Speaker 1: they want to use Luvu and not expose him into
- 13:14Speaker 1: positions where he gets vulnerable. So I think this defensive
- 13:17Speaker 1: front is deeper, stronger, more athletic for sure by adding
- 13:22Speaker 1: Styles and Chason and odoll o'dapia ohay. And I think
- 13:27Speaker 1: if Jerson Newton gives him a good he needs to
- 13:30Speaker 1: give him more as the second round pick and your
- 13:32Speaker 1: debt for that fore man, for that interior.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Rusher but that's a good start. It's pretty good.
- 13:37Speaker 1: They've done a nice job of adding getting younger and
- 13:40Speaker 1: getting more athletic.
- 13:41Speaker 3: They got They added so many players. Him settles back, Uh,
- 13:46Speaker 3: he was with them years ago. DJJ DJ Davidson comes
- 13:49Speaker 3: over from the Johnts. You mentioned Johnny Newton. They decided
- 13:52Speaker 3: to keep Deron Paynt and not cut him. Shy Tuttle
- 13:54Speaker 3: who's a been around a long time, Charles and Metta,
- 13:57Speaker 3: who's long you could play and Nickel if you go
- 14:02Speaker 3: four down, you can play them inside if you want.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Why right, don't forget about why is Tetrick Wise is?
- 14:08Speaker 3: Yeah, Trick Wise is back from his injury. He had
- 14:10Speaker 3: a major knee injury. Armstrong's back from his injury. This
- 14:15Speaker 3: is where they're they're at. They had like they need
- 14:17Speaker 3: thirteen players over thirty over thirty less season. That's ridiculous.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Yeah, they're gonna have some interesting cutdown decisions on some
- 14:23Speaker 1: of these veterans because, like I said, they've done a
- 14:26Speaker 1: good job of adding bodies for depth, guys who can
- 14:29Speaker 1: play in this league. The don't have to be stars.
- 14:31Speaker 1: I kill a Weatherspoon back, just like kind of the
- 14:33Speaker 1: Eagles getting Jones is an extra corner. Right, They've got bodies,
- 14:36Speaker 1: so they've got good competition. I think Week one is
- 14:39Speaker 1: going to be a really interesting matchup. It's gonna be
- 14:41Speaker 1: a showcase of these two new offensive philosophies, but it's
- 14:44Speaker 1: also gonna be a showcase of just how much the
- 14:47Speaker 1: Commanders defensively are going to either storm onto the scene
- 14:52Speaker 1: with new athleticism and pass rush or just not really
- 14:56Speaker 1: be there yet.
- 14:56Speaker 2: We're gonna know.
- 14:59Speaker 3: One issue that I do us. We like Nick Cross
- 15:01Speaker 3: comes over from Indy. Yeah, they've got Will Howris comes
- 15:04Speaker 3: over from the Saints. Kwan Martin could play nickel or safety,
- 15:07Speaker 3: so they're gonna be fine at safety. But my problem
- 15:10Speaker 3: is at corner. I know that there tree Amos Apparently
- 15:14Speaker 3: he grated out very well before he got hurt. They
- 15:16Speaker 3: felt he played really well. We'll be starting he unfortunately
- 15:19Speaker 3: got hurt, but he played well. Who was the second
- 15:20Speaker 3: rounder last year? But Sanders still dropped off a little bit?
- 15:25Speaker 3: Is he a nickel? See this is Mick Robertson. Mick
- 15:28Speaker 3: Robertson was drafted by the Raiders to play nickel. He
- 15:30Speaker 3: did well Detroit ran out of corners. He had a
- 15:33Speaker 3: play corner he moved from nickel to corner. Yeah, and
- 15:37Speaker 3: he did, and he got a nice deal with with
- 15:40Speaker 3: with the Commando. So I struggle with their outside corner
- 15:43Speaker 3: group other than tree Amos. So if you're the Eagles,
- 15:46Speaker 3: if you could protect, I'm going after the corners, Like
- 15:50Speaker 3: you know. Part of this is while we're doing this
- 15:51Speaker 3: is how can the Eagles win?
- 15:53Speaker 1: Sure?
- 15:53Speaker 3: How could they beat them? Throw against their corners? Like,
- 15:56Speaker 3: if you could protect, you can do that. I liked it. Boy,
- 15:59Speaker 3: they've that. It's I mean, it's remarkable how much money
- 16:02Speaker 3: they spent.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Yeah, well they have.
- 16:04Speaker 3: They spent a lot. Yeah, they exactly correctly, right, Yeah,
- 16:08Speaker 3: they did.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Other than you get a player second contract, sorry, second
- 16:12Speaker 1: contract players, players more athleticism, players with experience. Look, I
- 16:16Speaker 1: mean if the Eagles, if the Eagles are not right
- 16:19Speaker 1: offensive line, like with their health, you'll know early. Because
- 16:23Speaker 1: this Washington defensive front now has got some juice to it,
- 16:26Speaker 1: and it's got some big bodies between in the middle.
- 16:29Speaker 1: We will know right off the start. And I love
- 16:31Speaker 1: your point. You're the Eagles. You got a new offense,
- 16:34Speaker 1: your new wide receivers one's Davanta. You got a slot
- 16:37Speaker 1: receiver in Lemon.
- 16:37Speaker 2: You want to use it.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Yeah, player a lot. Let's see how they attack against
- 16:42Speaker 1: that commander secondary. I think, well, we'll get a good
- 16:45Speaker 1: early picture of where both teams are headed.
- 16:48Speaker 3: I'm going eleven personnel more than you normally would. I
- 16:51Speaker 3: think they're going to be a bounce. What's called a
- 16:53Speaker 3: coach is called a bounce eleven twelve based on the
- 16:55Speaker 3: personnel grouping that Eagles have. Once they trade a J Brown,
- 16:58Speaker 3: they'll still have plenty of receivers, but also going to
- 17:00Speaker 3: a lot of tight ends. You could bounce between the two.
- 17:02Speaker 3: But on your point, Lemon's a slot. It's gonna play
- 17:06Speaker 3: mostly slot. You can go heavy eleven, spread them out.
- 17:08Speaker 3: I don't trust the Washington corners. That's it for that game.
- 17:11Speaker 1: That's a good game, though, Yeah, absolutely, and a very
- 17:13Speaker 1: to me, a very telltale game.
- 17:14Speaker 2: You'll start to learn a little bit.
- 17:16Speaker 1: All right.
- 17:16Speaker 3: I'm so dude, I'm sucking. You got me psyched for
- 17:19Speaker 3: this game.
- 17:19Speaker 1: And I'm so much happier that it was them and
- 17:21Speaker 1: not the Cowboy. You know how I feel about having to.
- 17:23Speaker 3: Play fun when it's funny. Every year I say, please
- 17:28Speaker 3: don't be Washington, because Washington's been so bad for so long.
- 17:31Speaker 3: I I just but this time I was like, you
- 17:34Speaker 3: know what I could stand watching it happened to be them. Yeah,
- 17:38Speaker 3: but the game Week two could be a little bit
- 17:40Speaker 3: more intriguing than people think.
- 17:41Speaker 1: All right, so let's talk I love that you said that.
- 17:43Speaker 1: Let's talk about it, because man, talk about a team
- 17:46Speaker 1: that made a lot of moves. And I remember you
- 17:47Speaker 1: saying in the offseason, I mean, I hope everybody I
- 17:50Speaker 1: can go back and find the clip if I need to.
- 17:52Speaker 1: But Adam Kaplan, who's got more intel than anybody, said, listen,
- 17:56Speaker 1: the Titans are going to do everything in their power
- 17:58Speaker 1: in this free agency and then the draft to help
- 18:01Speaker 1: their quarterback.
- 18:03Speaker 3: Right.
- 18:03Speaker 2: So maybe other people were surprised when they.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Passed on like an RVL resort of Sonny starts to
- 18:09Speaker 1: take Carneal Tate that high, But I know you were
- 18:12Speaker 1: not because you knew that.
- 18:14Speaker 3: On your point. See, I just I gotta just be
- 18:19Speaker 3: honest with you.
- 18:21Speaker 1: Not you agree with it.
- 18:22Speaker 3: I'm just saying no, no, but not every receivers coach
- 18:25Speaker 3: likes Carnel Tate as much as the Titans did. Right,
- 18:28Speaker 3: And on your point about Sonny styles might be a
- 18:31Speaker 3: bit high.
- 18:33Speaker 1: This is I agree.
- 18:34Speaker 2: I was not endorsing their moves.
- 18:36Speaker 1: I'm just saying no, no.
- 18:37Speaker 3: No, I know, but I'm trying to explain to people
- 18:39Speaker 3: like you have to be careful of overdrafting just to
- 18:43Speaker 3: help your quarterback, because then you're going with a lower
- 18:46Speaker 3: graded player. Tait might be the tenth best player of
- 18:49Speaker 3: this draft, but Sonny Styles is probably number five.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Right, But you know what.
- 18:57Speaker 3: They've got. Mike Burgonzi is won a lot in his career.
- 19:00Speaker 3: He's one, He's probably one. I think he was there
- 19:02Speaker 3: for the three Rings with the cheese. He's got person.
- 19:05Speaker 3: He's got full personal control the first time there with
- 19:08Speaker 3: the times, he's got it, and they they I thought
- 19:11Speaker 3: for sure they cut Calvin Ridley. I thought this is
- 19:13Speaker 3: they were done with him, because it was he'd been
- 19:15Speaker 3: made a major disappointment. They redid his deal, they brought
- 19:18Speaker 3: him back. It was hurt. He's back. Wanda Robinson are
- 19:24Speaker 3: playing a ton of the other slot receivers, a dynamic
- 19:26Speaker 3: slot iminor I you I manan or how do he says?
- 19:31Speaker 3: I you im However you say yeah, I can never
- 19:36Speaker 3: get it right.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Into a song.
- 19:39Speaker 3: They're like, manor yeah, I don't know whatever it is
- 19:43Speaker 3: you are you manor, but he's interesting. Uh chimere d
- 19:48Speaker 3: k uh. They've they've got a good return game with
- 19:51Speaker 3: those guys. They're good there where they're not great. Daniel
- 19:59Speaker 3: Bellinger's there because to stay ball. But man, where's the juice? Like,
- 20:03Speaker 3: I know, they didn't want you to conco back? They didn't.
- 20:06Speaker 3: He had been a big disappointment for them. That Washington's
- 20:09Speaker 3: paying him ten million a year. Good luck?
- 20:10Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, but Gunnerhelm did have some moments last year.
- 20:14Speaker 1: I mean, he started, he looked like he could be
- 20:15Speaker 1: a decent player, but I don't know if he's like
- 20:17Speaker 1: ready to be te one for a competing team.
- 20:22Speaker 2: I guess you don't love the Kyland grants. In addition, huh, man, Yeah.
- 20:25Speaker 3: He's a special team and could run. And you know Bellinger,
- 20:28Speaker 3: here's the thing. They're paying him eight million a year
- 20:32Speaker 3: on a three year deal. Like that's lowan, that's he's
- 20:34Speaker 3: the starter. He's not an athlete. Yeah, Like, where's your
- 20:38Speaker 3: athletic move guy?
- 20:40Speaker 1: I mean, I guess maybe that's where they view Hilm,
- 20:43Speaker 1: But I don't know if he's that guy. That's the
- 20:47Speaker 1: position they have to kind of put him in. But
- 20:50Speaker 1: and again I.
- 20:50Speaker 2: Thought last year. He played last year, and I can
- 20:53Speaker 2: remember seeing some games where.
- 20:54Speaker 1: I thought he had some good movement skills coming out
- 20:56Speaker 1: of Texas, had a nice career there, so maybe they
- 20:59Speaker 1: maybe they will see something in him.
- 21:01Speaker 2: But really, Adam to me, now.
- 21:03Speaker 3: It's gonna say there, they're gonna be They're gonna be
- 21:05Speaker 3: heavy eleven mm hmm. With if nobody gets hurt, it's Ridley,
- 21:09Speaker 3: Tait and Robinson yep, and now go against the Eagles,
- 21:14Speaker 3: they'll get yeah. I think I I you man Or
- 21:19Speaker 3: will be in there.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Yeah, because.
- 21:24Speaker 3: Robinson, yeah, and the other kids the return uh Tate's
- 21:32Speaker 3: there is gonna be there, is gonna be their big
- 21:35Speaker 3: play guy. That's why, that's why he went as high
- 21:37Speaker 3: as he did. Really would be their mid range receiver
- 21:41Speaker 3: run after the catch, and Wandel's are slot. They're good there.
- 21:43Speaker 3: Like they're gonna be heavy eleven. Now, my problem is
- 21:46Speaker 3: that this is where the Eagles can make their money
- 21:47Speaker 3: here against their offense. They're not good at center, They're
- 21:53Speaker 3: not good at right guard. Scronsky's good, Damn Moore is
- 21:56Speaker 3: okay at laughter paying him a lot of money. Latham
- 21:58Speaker 3: is better off right than left. That's that's his that's
- 22:00Speaker 3: where he played that they know he wouldn't be a
- 22:02Speaker 3: left tackle. He had to play right. I learned that
- 22:05Speaker 3: in this rookie season, but in the center, right guard
- 22:08Speaker 3: with the Eagles front that they should eat. Now the Eagles, now,
- 22:12Speaker 3: the question is, well, assuming assuming that Rik Wallen holds up.
- 22:19Speaker 3: And obviously when you when you look at their cornerbacker,
- 22:23Speaker 3: you got Quinn and so you're good there. And then
- 22:25Speaker 3: you've got you've got Coopers, your Nickels, so you're good.
- 22:27Speaker 3: If they're gonna go heavy eleven, you're you can match
- 22:29Speaker 3: up with them. I'm not worried about them. Now. Kim
- 22:33Speaker 3: the the word within the Titans I was told was
- 22:36Speaker 3: Kim Ward tried to too hard. He saw like he
- 22:39Speaker 3: had to do too much because they had very little talent,
- 22:42Speaker 3: and they try to put the seam on his back
- 22:43Speaker 3: and and he just he's a super competitive cares he
- 22:49Speaker 3: only cares about football. He's got nothing else. It's like
- 22:51Speaker 3: a family is like no social life. Kind of one
- 22:54Speaker 3: of those guy he has I'm sure has one, but
- 22:57Speaker 3: you get my point. He's not out there going out
- 22:59Speaker 3: on the town. He's a football guy.
- 23:01Speaker 2: Yep.
- 23:02Speaker 3: So you like that. But they need a move tight end.
- 23:06Speaker 3: I could see this game being competitive a little bit.
- 23:09Speaker 3: But when you get to their defense, that's where I
- 23:14Speaker 3: kind of look at and say, Okay, I don't think
- 23:17Speaker 3: they're going to be good enough. I just don't.
- 23:20Speaker 1: By the way, before you do defense, I didn't. I
- 23:23Speaker 1: didn't even notice this until now. But Week one we
- 23:27Speaker 1: talked about k Tron Allen going to the Commanders, and
- 23:30Speaker 1: you know, good job to make the Week two. The
- 23:32Speaker 1: Titans are the team that drafted Nicholas Singleton. Yeah yeah,
- 23:36Speaker 1: Penn State backs yeah yeah.
- 23:40Speaker 3: Yeah. So there's no competition Polisher starter. I tried to
- 23:43Speaker 3: tell people this year when they were saying Spears will
- 23:45Speaker 3: compete against him. He never did. Polish there is their
- 23:48Speaker 3: starting now. The only question is do they let him
- 23:50Speaker 3: handle third down Michael Carter, who has been a third
- 23:53Speaker 3: down back now a great past protectors there for the
- 23:55Speaker 3: other Michael Carter who was drafted by the Jets, and
- 23:58Speaker 3: then Robisky's is backup by the way, most likely over
- 24:02Speaker 3: over Levis coming up an injury. But defensively, I like
- 24:08Speaker 3: the front with John Franklinias who had a great year
- 24:11Speaker 3: with Denver, the paying a ton of money with Simmons's
- 24:13Speaker 3: a stud Jordan Elliott comes out from the Niners, but
- 24:16Speaker 3: it's their pass rush, yeah, Jermaine Johnson. See they're going
- 24:21Speaker 3: They're going to go to a forty three front because
- 24:23Speaker 3: that's that's the running wide nine mm hmm. So they've
- 24:27Speaker 3: got Franklin Myers the Simmson of their starters. They'll be
- 24:30Speaker 3: great there. Jordan Allen will be the first guy off
- 24:31Speaker 3: the bench. Jermaine Johnson's back in the scheme that fits
- 24:35Speaker 3: them best as a hand of the Dirk pass rusher.
- 24:38Speaker 3: But it's focus just not that guy.
- 24:42Speaker 2: That's what surprised me.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Is sort of amuse you w went to scheme right,
- 24:46Speaker 1: I mean not explosive. Yeah, I would have thought that
- 24:49Speaker 1: they would have, you know, maybe waited later or second
- 24:52Speaker 1: third and taking one of those undersized speed edge rushers
- 24:55Speaker 1: who can just get off the ball really quickly with
- 24:57Speaker 1: that space in a while, you know, like a cash
- 24:59Speaker 1: is about how well, who else went into the second
- 25:02Speaker 1: or third round that I can think of that had that.
- 25:04Speaker 1: But they did have your guy that you mentioned. They
- 25:06Speaker 1: did sign Jacob Barton who did really well with the
- 25:09Speaker 1: Commanders last year, so maybe they see him as an
- 25:12Speaker 1: interesting scheme fit.
- 25:14Speaker 2: But I agree with you.
- 25:15Speaker 1: I just I don't love this four man pass rush.
- 25:18Speaker 1: I love Jeffer Simmons, think he's a great player. Franklin
- 25:21Speaker 1: Myers is a stout player. But to me, you've got
- 25:25Speaker 1: two legitimate rushers, an interior guy and Simmons. Jermaine Johnson.
- 25:30Speaker 1: You hope he rediscovers what he had under Sally in
- 25:33Speaker 1: the Jets, and then we'll see what Kendrick Faull Keldrick Faulk.
- 25:36Speaker 3: Well, I'm gonna give a guy. I'm gonna give you
- 25:38Speaker 3: a guy. Okay Ola Oladejo, who was hurt last year,
- 25:43Speaker 3: was a second rounder. Sure, I think missed a big
- 25:45Speaker 3: chunk of the season that they really liked him last year.
- 25:48Speaker 3: He just a ton of talent, great length. He just
- 25:52Speaker 3: got hurt out of UCLA. We talked about him last
- 25:54Speaker 3: year with Cochelle leading on to twenty five draft. I
- 25:58Speaker 3: just don't right now on paper or their past rush
- 26:00Speaker 3: isn't good enough. But the but that's the thing about
- 26:03Speaker 3: the Why nine. It makes your past rush better than
- 26:04Speaker 3: it really is. Cornerback wise, I'm spreading them out. Alante
- 26:09Speaker 3: Taylor once was one of the best best nickels. Now
- 26:12Speaker 3: he's going to have to play outside again. Flat will
- 26:15Speaker 3: flat to me as a nickel. You could play them
- 26:19Speaker 3: on the outside again. Another guy that played for the Giants.
- 26:23Speaker 3: It's yeah, he's an okay player. Winston, you know, coming
- 26:27Speaker 3: back from the aco injury from last year. You know
- 26:29Speaker 3: from Penn State. This is the second year. Money Hooker
- 26:32Speaker 3: has been there for a long time, made a lot
- 26:34Speaker 3: of money. They're getting better. They've added I give him credit,
- 26:38Speaker 3: Mike Burganti. Credit's added more talent. But they're nowhere near there.
- 26:42Speaker 1: This is a game.
- 26:42Speaker 3: I want to spread them out too. They're not good
- 26:44Speaker 3: enough corner. M h They'll be stout up front. We'll
- 26:49Speaker 3: see how Saquon does here. But this is another game.
- 26:51Speaker 3: But I would actually spread them out.
- 26:52Speaker 1: I see that, don't they It seems like I feel
- 26:55Speaker 1: like they have twin nickelbacks, right. Isn't Alante Taylor a
- 26:57Speaker 1: guy who played well? He's playing He's played both, but
- 27:00Speaker 1: two or three years I played better at nickel.
- 27:03Speaker 3: He might be, but I don't think they're good enough
- 27:06Speaker 3: at corner. Yeah, and that's yeah. This is a game now. This,
- 27:10Speaker 3: by the way, will be the second game in their
- 27:13Speaker 3: new stadium, the new Nissan Stadium. M hmm, they play
- 27:16Speaker 3: did they play them? That's so funny. Ironically, Solid goes
- 27:19Speaker 3: up against the Jets in Week one in Nashville. Great.
- 27:22Speaker 1: Cool, Yeah, they kind of They had the two first
- 27:26Speaker 1: round picks, right, Tate and Falk, But I don't think
- 27:29Speaker 1: they had a second rounder. No, they had that. That's
- 27:32Speaker 1: they took the Georgia linebacker Anthony Hill. Is it Georgia
- 27:34Speaker 1: or Tad. They took a Anthony Hill out of I
- 27:38Speaker 1: thought it was either Texas. I'm sorry Texas. Right, he's good.
- 27:42Speaker 1: I like that. Yeah, yeah, man, you would have You
- 27:44Speaker 1: would have loved either a second or third round defensive
- 27:47Speaker 1: back somewhere, you know, whether there's not. I don't.
- 27:51Speaker 3: Well, let's put it this way. If they in terraft him,
- 27:54Speaker 3: you're talking about a bottom three team at linebacker. Yeah,
- 27:59Speaker 3: and you start three of them, Remember you start three
- 28:01Speaker 3: of them the atrocious linebacker without him. Yeah. Well again,
- 28:05Speaker 3: he's a rookie, so he's got to play well. Right,
- 28:07Speaker 3: So they have they're change Schames. This s game they've
- 28:10Speaker 3: never run before. This is going to be a big
- 28:12Speaker 3: change for them. They were thirty four front for several years,
- 28:15Speaker 3: probably well over a decade. We'll see what happens. But
- 28:19Speaker 3: this is a fun game. I'm a big cam More guy,
- 28:21Speaker 3: but that he's got a long way Togo.
- 28:22Speaker 1: I'm telling you right now, the Titans cannot in the
- 28:24Speaker 1: court of public opinion, the Titans cannot win that game.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Score a lot of points, and the Eagles come home
- 28:31Speaker 1: and sports talk radio will not be filled with wish
- 28:34Speaker 1: Brian Dable didn't want to come here. Look how good
- 28:36Speaker 1: of a job he's done. Look at our guy. We
- 28:38Speaker 1: can barely scare score points because he's a novice. That
- 28:42Speaker 1: that is my prediction of what a week of sports
- 28:44Speaker 1: talk radio would be like in Philly if the Eagles
- 28:46Speaker 1: lost that game because the Titans scored a lot of points.
- 28:49Speaker 3: You know how badly the Titans won In Matt Naggy,
- 28:51Speaker 3: I mean Brian Matt Naggy was going to have Brian
- 28:54Speaker 3: Dabeles bees as oc. That's how like he's really. He's
- 28:58Speaker 3: just not a head coach. You can't help him.
- 28:59Speaker 1: So oh gosha, it does not have the temperament.
- 29:02Speaker 3: No, but he coaches the hell out of quarterbacks. So
- 29:04Speaker 3: I'm looking forward. Tights are a team to watch just
- 29:07Speaker 3: they could be a little fun, but it's a game
- 29:09Speaker 3: I see the Eagles winning.

- 30:32Speaker 1: All right.
- 30:33Speaker 2: Week three is gonna be.
- 30:34Speaker 1: A fantastic one Monday Night. It is a rematch of
- 30:38Speaker 1: last year's Black Friday game, except it's gonna be at
- 30:40Speaker 1: Soldier Field in Chicago. And if you're gonna go play
- 30:43Speaker 1: the Bears, you might as well do it in September
- 30:45Speaker 1: before it really gets cold. Eight fifteen, Man, Adam, this
- 30:49Speaker 1: is a This is a game to look forward to
- 30:51Speaker 1: for a lot of reasons. A for the newness that
- 30:53Speaker 1: we'll talk about from both teams to b you have
- 30:56Speaker 1: to think the Eagles absolutely want to show the role
- 31:00Speaker 1: that that was not their real run defense. I mean,
- 31:03Speaker 1: they really just blew a game. But knowing how Ben
- 31:06Speaker 1: Johnson thinks in acts, which you know, I I got
- 31:13Speaker 1: to kill Ben Johnson for being complete.
- 31:15Speaker 3: He too, because he needs to be careful. Yes, and
- 31:18Speaker 3: they and I get it. I have no problem with
- 31:20Speaker 3: putting up the Bears social media team and he has
- 31:23Speaker 3: to okay putting it. You know, when he when he
- 31:24Speaker 3: took a shot off.
- 31:26Speaker 1: Yeah, well that the Packers thing.
- 31:28Speaker 2: I mean, come on, I mean, and this.
- 31:30Speaker 3: Matt Lafour manufactured nonsense is the same division because he
- 31:34Speaker 3: coaching Detroit. I get that. But anyway, well, let's let's
- 31:37Speaker 3: not forget how bad the run defense was. Right, it
- 31:40Speaker 3: might have been a record at the time. It might
- 31:42Speaker 3: be an Eagles record. It had to be. Give him
- 31:45Speaker 3: two hundred yard rushers in the first half that effort.
- 31:48Speaker 3: It was embarrassing. The tape, I remember we broke down
- 31:52Speaker 3: the tape with Cosel. The inside the tape tw with Greg,
- 31:56Speaker 3: you know, like Greig, what happened? He just go, look,
- 31:58Speaker 3: these guys are not the right gaps. It was a
- 32:00Speaker 3: little bit of hero ball. Yeah, and the fact this
- 32:04Speaker 3: happened with Vic Fandry was shocking. I understand nobody's perfect.
- 32:07Speaker 1: Well this happened under Vic twice now, I mean year
- 32:10Speaker 1: one happened against the Falcons. Remember that was just the
- 32:12Speaker 1: got completely steam rolls.
- 32:14Speaker 3: Well. And also there was a lot going on in
- 32:15Speaker 3: that game. Yes offensive me, but uh the Niners game also,
- 32:21Speaker 3: I don't know what the hell happened that playoff game.
- 32:23Speaker 3: That was a disaster. Yeah, broke down totally on defense.
- 32:27Speaker 3: But so what's new? So Ben Jonson is there is
- 32:31Speaker 3: back again. They are another one of those teams that came
- 32:34Speaker 3: out of the blue. First year, did a great job.
- 32:37Speaker 3: Caleb Willms a developing quarterback. The thing is because they
- 32:41Speaker 3: kind of surprised a lot of people and drafted Sam
- 32:43Speaker 3: Roush and a tight end. And remember they traded DJ
- 32:48Speaker 3: Moore and did nothing well. Davion Thomas is the third
- 32:55Speaker 3: rounder at of LSU. I mean it's a third rounder, so.
- 32:59Speaker 1: I don't know how much they did it because they
- 33:00Speaker 1: want to get Luther Burden on the field if they
- 33:03Speaker 1: feel like that.
- 33:03Speaker 3: He understand that. But here's the thing. They don't have
- 33:06Speaker 3: a third receiver right now. Cliff Raymond will be a
- 33:08Speaker 3: special taser turner. He could play slot. He's done it.
- 33:14Speaker 3: He's not a full time third receiver. So to me,
- 33:17Speaker 3: with all these tight ends, folks, you're probably going to
- 33:19Speaker 3: see some of the sea change. I see them. I'm
- 33:22Speaker 3: not saying they be full time eleven at twelve, but
- 33:25Speaker 3: with Comet still on the roster, make them ten million
- 33:27Speaker 3: a year. Colston Lovelin first rounder, did very well, very athletic.
- 33:32Speaker 3: Sam Rausch you're looking at now, you're looking at more twelve,
- 33:39Speaker 3: way more twelve than last year. Now remember they lost their.
- 33:43Speaker 1: Wait, wait, let's go one step further, all right, okay,
- 33:46Speaker 1: because you're right, they add rouse to a group that's
- 33:48Speaker 1: already got level in the comet.
- 33:50Speaker 2: It would not surprise me.
- 33:51Speaker 1: I'm sure the wheels are spinning and have been ever
- 33:54Speaker 1: since last year when Nickveigh started messing around with all
- 33:58Speaker 1: these three tight end formations out in my mind, depend
- 34:02Speaker 1: wants to do that and modify it even.
- 34:04Speaker 3: More thirteen that because I remember when Greg said it
- 34:09Speaker 3: kind of surprised him when Cliff Kingsbury might have been
- 34:12Speaker 3: his third or fourth before he got fired from the Cardinals.
- 34:14Speaker 3: He was bringing his offense from Texas Tech, and like
- 34:18Speaker 3: all of a sudden, he was playing a lot of twelve,
- 34:20Speaker 3: like way more than twelve personnel than he had before. Well,
- 34:23Speaker 3: Sean McVay had never shown the inclination to run any
- 34:27Speaker 3: thirteen personnel. Well, for a big chunk of the season,
- 34:31Speaker 3: they ran most thirteen person on the NFL, which is
- 34:33Speaker 3: three ten ENDSWM receiver, one back. Yep. So yeah, coaches evolve,
- 34:38Speaker 3: So here you go, so be ready for it. Now,
- 34:41Speaker 3: if do they have a power back manung guy who
- 34:43Speaker 3: is a good story. DeAndre Swift is their starter who's explosive,
- 34:47Speaker 3: but he's not a power back. Now one area where
- 34:51Speaker 3: the Eagles could look at and feel good about it.
- 34:53Speaker 3: Garrett Bradbury, because of Drew Dolman's retirement, is an undersized
- 34:58Speaker 3: The bear had to do something, so they traded for him. Yep,
- 35:03Speaker 3: who is turning thirty one soon. He's a smaller guy.
- 35:06Speaker 3: That's good for their interior. Bradbury is not a guy like.
- 35:10Speaker 3: That's a guy I'm gonna see up. I'm gonna make
- 35:12Speaker 3: sure that I run stunts at him. They should be
- 35:15Speaker 3: able to move him a little bits.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, And then I know they drafted a center
- 35:20Speaker 1: guard type, Logan Jones from Ionah. He's ready though he's
- 35:25Speaker 1: he's under three hundred pounds. Man, he's like two ninety
- 35:28Speaker 1: nine I think.
- 35:29Speaker 3: Yeah, three just under sixty three. Eventually he'll be their starter,
- 35:33Speaker 3: but I don't know will be this season. But so
- 35:35Speaker 3: right on on surface, jorn On Wright's a stud way
- 35:38Speaker 3: better than people thought. He's really good. Joe Tutney, she's
- 35:43Speaker 3: screwed up there. They panicked the guy had to play
- 35:45Speaker 3: left tap against the Eagles. I mean, you're gonna really
- 35:47Speaker 3: hold that against the thick he can't play anymore.
- 35:49Speaker 2: No, I don't think that's what.
- 35:50Speaker 1: I think they just strided Hi because he was getting
- 35:52Speaker 1: up in age and getting he.
- 35:54Speaker 3: Was really good.
- 35:55Speaker 1: He was They got a third rounder for him.
- 35:58Speaker 3: It wasn't like they just know, but they thought he
- 36:00Speaker 3: was on the on the major aggression. He wasn't. And
- 36:02Speaker 3: Jonah Jackson should he He's plenty left He had a
- 36:04Speaker 3: lot of injuries, but he's been good. No, they're good.
- 36:08Speaker 3: Uh is.
- 36:10Speaker 1: Is that they're left tackle who they drafted last year
- 36:12Speaker 1: in the second round high Ozzi Trapillo got hurt and
- 36:15Speaker 1: he's gonna be on the shelf. But I swear I
- 36:18Speaker 1: think that Jedrick Willis signing was kind of sneaky good
- 36:21Speaker 1: on their part.
- 36:22Speaker 3: I mean, will you will he was a stud before
- 36:26Speaker 3: he got hurt. He was never the same. Yeah, I'm
- 36:29Speaker 3: glad you mentioned that. That was a nice signing, very
- 36:31Speaker 3: underrated because they went through Benadette Trapillo. There's a Braxton
- 36:38Speaker 3: Jones who also got hurt his back by the way
- 36:41Speaker 3: they resigned him. Yeah, so this is this won't be
- 36:44Speaker 3: easy because Ben Johnson an incredible schemer and play caller.
- 36:47Speaker 3: But I totally agree with you're set up here before
- 36:48Speaker 3: we move their defense. If I'm Fangio, not that he's
- 36:52Speaker 3: going to change the way he does anything, but I'm
- 36:55Speaker 3: gonna have a little bit extra and the players, and
- 36:59Speaker 3: I'm making sure because I know coaches do this. Hm, well,
- 37:03Speaker 3: they have to look at the tape because they played
- 37:04Speaker 3: them last year, but it's got to piss them off.
- 37:07Speaker 3: And that tape was embarrassing.
- 37:10Speaker 1: Oh god, definitely, I mean, and I think that was
- 37:12Speaker 1: the game. That was the game where right after Jalen
- 37:16Speaker 1: Carter then went on too, did he go on? I
- 37:19Speaker 1: r he took the three or four weeks off to
- 37:21Speaker 1: have the the shoulders procedures because he just couldn't do
- 37:25Speaker 1: anything that game.
- 37:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm sure that that contribute to it. But they
- 37:28Speaker 3: also were at a gap. They played like crap.
- 37:30Speaker 2: Oh yeah, were all around.
- 37:32Speaker 3: Yeah. So so now when you look at their defense,
- 37:36Speaker 3: you Dennis Allen, it's done, did a good, really good job.
- 37:39Speaker 3: They run there, he runs a forty three. The big
- 37:42Speaker 3: issue they have, and I'm so stunned. I know part
- 37:45Speaker 3: of why they didn't do anything major is dioe o'dengbo
- 37:48Speaker 3: got hurt last year, who they signed from the cult
- 37:50Speaker 3: to big free agent contract. He got hurt so they
- 37:52Speaker 3: couldn't cut him. So he's back. Austin Booker's mister training camp.
- 37:56Speaker 3: If he saw him on hard knocks and Monte what's
- 38:00Speaker 3: rusher there's they don't rush the passure. They don't rush
- 38:02Speaker 3: the passer, well enough, they don't. That's good when you
- 38:05Speaker 3: go if you're the Eagles, you like that.
- 38:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:08Speaker 1: Obviously now they've played Dennis Allen's a good defensive coordinator,
- 38:11Speaker 1: and they've kind of schemed their way around it, especially
- 38:15Speaker 1: last year. But to your point, they won four or
- 38:18Speaker 1: five games last year in the fourth quarter with these
- 38:21Speaker 1: amazing comebacks, including against the Packers and in the playoffs
- 38:23Speaker 1: like that.
- 38:24Speaker 2: That stuff doesn't happen every single year. People learn you,
- 38:28Speaker 2: they see your tendencies, they study you. This happened to
- 38:31Speaker 2: the Eagles. So to think that they.
- 38:33Speaker 1: Can't the Bears will just come in and, you know,
- 38:35Speaker 1: pull off all these fourth quarter victories with what you're saying,
- 38:37Speaker 1: with the pass rush not being as juicy as you'd
- 38:41Speaker 1: like it to be, it's gonna be very difficult. He
- 38:43Speaker 1: can't just rely on heroics.
- 38:45Speaker 2: They had some unblo Remember the play where you got
- 38:47Speaker 2: they got the Packers right where what's his face?
- 38:50Speaker 1: Where? Williams just ran back thirty yards flung the ball.
- 38:54Speaker 1: It's called that's not gonna happen every year?
- 38:57Speaker 3: Was that a money night game? Because I remember being
- 38:58Speaker 3: so pissed off. I just someone as an observer, I'm like,
- 39:01Speaker 3: this kid, this is such luck.
- 39:03Speaker 2: Right, he just threw it up. It was unbelievable.
- 39:06Speaker 3: But but let's defend Ben Johnson or he did a
- 39:09Speaker 3: phenomenal job.
- 39:11Speaker 2: He did.
- 39:11Speaker 1: There's no two in the position to succeed, for sure.
- 39:14Speaker 3: Brian Dable went through it. And after they came out
- 39:16Speaker 3: of nowhere and twenty two to win a playoff game.
- 39:19Speaker 2: Yep.
- 39:19Speaker 3: Hit the kids after that, Rogers pretty good.
- 39:22Speaker 1: You take it away from him.
- 39:23Speaker 2: They know how to run the ball. They will run
- 39:25Speaker 2: on anybody.
- 39:26Speaker 3: They're anong guy. Holy smokes, is he good?
- 39:28Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 39:29Speaker 1: From Rutgers.
- 39:30Speaker 3: Yeah, And Swift could still play. Caleb Williams. He's a
- 39:35Speaker 3: super aggressive thrower who had to play under center, had
- 39:39Speaker 3: to learn how to do it. It was a work
- 39:40Speaker 3: in progress. He was very up and down, but his
- 39:43Speaker 3: Some of his games were phenomenal, some were not. This
- 39:47Speaker 3: is the second year he's having another offseason with Ben Johnson,
- 39:50Speaker 3: expect him to be better, but he was gonna match
- 39:53Speaker 3: up against them, especially without DJ Moore. Luther Burden now
- 39:58Speaker 3: is his full time starter who could run, run after
- 40:00Speaker 3: the catch. Guy rome o'doonzay now is a guy's gonna
- 40:03Speaker 3: get more pass targets. You know, they're loaded of ten
- 40:05Speaker 3: end This would be a tough matchup for the Egals. Defense.
- 40:07Speaker 1: Burdens the guy to look for for your fantasy dynasty folks.
- 40:10Speaker 1: I mean that that's a guy who can step into
- 40:12Speaker 1: that and catch a lot of balls. And really, now
- 40:14Speaker 1: that DJ Moore is not in his way on defense,
- 40:17Speaker 1: the thing that you're you're talking about at him is
- 40:19Speaker 1: that they really they're they're not a great defense, but
- 40:23Speaker 1: and they they're kind of doing the run at back. Then, yes,
- 40:25Speaker 1: they lost from Edmunds the linebacker to the Giants, so
- 40:28Speaker 1: they signed Devin Bush. They lose Brisker, And when I
- 40:32Speaker 1: say lose, I'm not sure how aggressive the Bears were
- 40:35Speaker 1: retaining these guys.
- 40:36Speaker 2: They signed Kobe Bryant, so it's really just that to change.
- 40:39Speaker 1: The One thing though, that I really love is that
- 40:41Speaker 1: they drafted Dylan Daneman in the in the first round.
- 40:44Speaker 1: I mean, I think he can. He'll be an early
- 40:46Speaker 1: candidate for Rookie of the Year because he might just slide.
- 40:49Speaker 2: Right into that.
- 40:49Speaker 1: Dennis Allis defense and patrol the back end, have a
- 40:52Speaker 1: billion tackles, do everything he's asked to do. He does
- 40:54Speaker 1: everything well.
- 40:56Speaker 3: So they went on defense by scheme, not talent, and
- 41:01Speaker 3: they just don't have much. Grady Jared, I know they're
- 41:05Speaker 3: very happy with this leadership. Showed he could still play.
- 41:07Speaker 3: Pay him a lot of money, but he still played well.
- 41:09Speaker 3: Grvon Dexter was the second rounder a couple of years ago. Uh,
- 41:13Speaker 3: the venerable Kentavious Street, he's still going a given crowd,
- 41:17Speaker 3: he's still playing. And Nevill Gallimore remember him from the Rams,
- 41:19Speaker 3: the journeyman. Uh now corner see Jalen Johnson is so talented,
- 41:26Speaker 3: but he's been hurt a lot. Kyler Gordon is their
- 41:29Speaker 3: nickel for not one of the best nicklas in the league.
- 41:32Speaker 3: Got hurt a lot last year. It was hurt unfortunately.
- 41:35Speaker 3: Kobe Bryant, a Super Bowl winner with the Seahawks, is
- 41:37Speaker 3: over there at safety with the Anemen. As you mentioned,
- 41:41Speaker 3: Tyrek Stevenson's back, who's been an interesting player for them. Yeah,
- 41:46Speaker 3: it's funny his rookie deal. So they have enough talent
- 41:49Speaker 3: in the back end, but this is a team you
- 41:51Speaker 3: should be able to protect against.
- 41:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:54Speaker 1: Yeah, And this is where I think the fourth quarter
- 41:58Speaker 1: wins from last year will come back back to them
- 42:00Speaker 1: a little bit.
- 42:00Speaker 2: And I think that you can move the ball to
- 42:02Speaker 2: see they have to.
- 42:03Speaker 1: They're almost a little bit like San Francisco and that
- 42:05Speaker 1: they gotta get early. You would think this year they're
- 42:09Speaker 1: gonna have to lead some games because if they I
- 42:11Speaker 1: don't know if they can pull off coming from behind
- 42:13Speaker 1: all the time. You need your defense to get stops
- 42:15Speaker 1: and I don't just I just don't love this defense enough.
- 42:17Speaker 1: It's got some old guys there and there Edwards up there.
- 42:22Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, Like, would you be surprised if I said,
- 42:25Speaker 1: by the end of the year their best defensive player
- 42:28Speaker 1: with Staneman.
- 42:29Speaker 3: No, And I haven't a drop offf team, to be
- 42:32Speaker 3: honest with you, Yeah, because Detroit was my drop off
- 42:35Speaker 3: team last year and that happened. But I expect them
- 42:36Speaker 3: to bounce back somewhat. Green Bay is gonna be very good.
- 42:41Speaker 3: Minnesota is the who the hell knows, because here's the
- 42:44Speaker 3: quarterback problem.
- 42:45Speaker 1: Yeah, So I definitely think that I don't put much
- 42:49Speaker 1: in revenge factor, but I do think the Eagles are
- 42:52Speaker 1: going to go into this game thinking about what happened
- 42:54Speaker 1: last year and wanting to rectify that and show the
- 42:57Speaker 1: Bears what they're all about.
- 42:59Speaker 3: I would expect, and it'll be no worse than two
- 43:01Speaker 3: and one. I know we're not going to game my
- 43:02Speaker 3: game picking games, but we'll do that when we do
- 43:05Speaker 3: the posted pre game show. But it's a fun first
- 43:08Speaker 3: three weeks and the fourth week, Holy you know, it's
- 43:10Speaker 3: donet getting better than this.
- 43:11Speaker 1: So I gotta ask you that why is ray? I
- 43:13Speaker 1: get that the Eagles run so many different slots?
- 43:16Speaker 3: I know why.
- 43:17Speaker 1: Why the heck is Eagles rams, two huge markets, two
- 43:20Speaker 1: great teams, a one o'clock game.
- 43:22Speaker 3: Well, okay, so there are a couple of things. Well,
- 43:26Speaker 3: I agree that it should be a four o'clock game.
- 43:28Speaker 3: I don't know what was last year's last year also
- 43:31Speaker 3: one o'clock game, it was yes week three by the way,
- 43:34Speaker 3: at Philly Week three. Well, first of all, when you
- 43:37Speaker 3: look at the rams, and I don't necessarily agree with it,
- 43:41Speaker 3: but I heard the explanation from Mike North, who's the
- 43:44Speaker 3: who oversees the scheduling, they're now all national team. I
- 43:47Speaker 3: understand maybe they don't have the greatest fan support, but
- 43:52Speaker 3: as a watch Matthew Stafford, yeah, Sean McVay, yep, whin
- 43:58Speaker 3: they win, they win, they in, they score. Their fun
- 44:02Speaker 3: team to watch. They're fun team, Like they're a musty
- 44:05Speaker 3: TV type of team. But they don't have the national
- 44:07Speaker 3: falling from the fan base, but from a watchability, people
- 44:11Speaker 3: want to see them. They're not getting seven primetime games
- 44:16Speaker 3: unless they're watching like, people love watching them. It's kind
- 44:21Speaker 3: of weird, like they don't have the national following in
- 44:24Speaker 3: terms of fan base, but people there their TV rings
- 44:26Speaker 3: are huge. Sure Stafford defy Adams, right, Poka Nakua ye.
- 44:33Speaker 1: Yeah, people know these guys.
- 44:34Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, they're They're very well coached. Look, they're they
- 44:40Speaker 3: can't be the Egle for some reasons. The oddest last
- 44:42Speaker 3: year was ridiculous. What happened? Three quarters? Eagles play bleep
- 44:46Speaker 3: and then Jordan Davis takes over and all sorts of
- 44:50Speaker 3: crazy stuff happened.
- 44:51Speaker 2: Yeah, it's weird.
- 44:52Speaker 1: They give the Eagles the They give the Eagles fits
- 44:55Speaker 1: almost every time, except for that one game where he
- 44:56Speaker 1: just ran all over them, But even that was a
- 44:58Speaker 1: third quarter breakout. But and then when it comes time
- 45:01Speaker 1: to making like the essential play, they just completely crap
- 45:04Speaker 1: the bed. You know, whether it's that fourth down in
- 45:06Speaker 1: the snow in the playoff game where they got where
- 45:09Speaker 1: Stafford got sacked and then threw the ball over, or
- 45:12Speaker 1: or the blocked field goals.
- 45:14Speaker 3: It just it's the Rams against the Eagles, I mean,
- 45:17Speaker 3: and sa Quon I mean once in the twenty fourth season,
- 45:22Speaker 3: I mean it just it it he had fourth place
- 45:26Speaker 3: of sixty yards or more like that. That's how special
- 45:29Speaker 3: he was. Now the Rams still have that small front.
- 45:32Speaker 3: They're all back. Brandon Fiscus back put on a Ford
- 45:36Speaker 3: five ft ten and a half thirty four and three
- 45:38Speaker 3: quarters in charms. Don't explain it. I don't know how
- 45:40Speaker 3: that happens. I have six foot one half inch. I
- 45:43Speaker 3: have thirty four in a quarter, thirty three in a
- 45:45Speaker 3: quarter in charms. I have long arms for my size.
- 45:47Speaker 3: Kind of weird. But Kobe Turner's back terrific. What's that?
- 45:52Speaker 1: I said, you got right guard arms.
- 45:53Speaker 2: That's great.
- 45:54Speaker 3: I know it's weird. Yeah, but when I was fat
- 45:57Speaker 3: five years ago, yeah, probably could have played right guard.
- 45:59Speaker 3: But they run their thirty four Byron Young is elite,
- 46:04Speaker 3: is a pass rusher versus phenomenal. They're smaller inside backer. See,
- 46:09Speaker 3: that's the thing with them. They don't like their cash.
- 46:13Speaker 3: Ben is loaded with Stafford, Kyron Williams. DeVante Adams is
- 46:18Speaker 3: gonna be with poc Nacola once they forgot the situation.
- 46:21Speaker 3: Kevin Dottson. They're paying big Coin who came out of
- 46:24Speaker 3: nowhere a couple of years ago. They got to make decisions.
- 46:25Speaker 3: Steve Steve Avilla. Trent mcduffin is thirty million plus per season.
- 46:31Speaker 3: You know, Quinton Lake paying him. You got's extension. So
- 46:35Speaker 3: there's certain positions. But linebacker they're not paying. They're small.
- 46:40Speaker 3: You could you could run on them. Man, that's this
- 46:42Speaker 3: is a game now. I say that at corner. McDuffie's
- 46:47Speaker 3: a stud. Jalen Watson's a nice player. After that, Emmanuel Forbes,
- 46:55Speaker 3: I was shocked, like he kind of revived his career.
- 46:57Speaker 3: But I thought to Quentin Lake at the Super Bowl,
- 47:00Speaker 3: kind of like them that hybrid role. Man, Yeah, that's
- 47:02Speaker 3: kind of the way they see him.
- 47:03Speaker 2: Yeah, he functions well there, I tell you on a
- 47:05Speaker 2: bigger picture.
- 47:06Speaker 1: The one thing that I really don't like about the Rams,
- 47:09Speaker 1: but I also didn't like it about them last year
- 47:11Speaker 1: the year before. Is their depth. I feel like at
- 47:14Speaker 1: several key positions, including quarterback, wide receiver, corner right that
- 47:22Speaker 1: if one or two guys goes down, I just think
- 47:26Speaker 1: their backups. I thought the Commanders had better depth than
- 47:29Speaker 1: the Rams. We the Commanders, we're talking about guys who
- 47:31Speaker 1: NFL experience, who could be four down, who win you games.
- 47:35Speaker 2: Like he goes lose up.
- 47:36Speaker 1: I mean the Rams lose a pass rusher or a
- 47:38Speaker 1: court I mean their backup quarterback is either going to
- 47:40Speaker 1: be a rookie or Stetson Bennett that doesn't throw me,
- 47:44Speaker 1: you know, Like they get one injury to wide receiver,
- 47:46Speaker 1: then all of a sudden, you guys see like Jordan
- 47:48Speaker 1: Whittington play.
- 47:48Speaker 3: No, Well he's their three. But okay, so let's let's
- 47:51Speaker 3: let's go over kind of matchup boys quickly here. So
- 47:54Speaker 3: they're gonna be heavy twelve or heavy thirteen. Personal why
- 47:56Speaker 3: they don't have the three is Weddington. I was at
- 48:00Speaker 3: their training camp two years ago. He's got good size
- 48:03Speaker 3: running after the catch. He's not explosive. You're right, they
- 48:06Speaker 3: have no Depthit receiver, it's Adams, it's Puka Woddington will
- 48:10Speaker 3: be there to fall three, so they're gonna be heavy
- 48:11Speaker 3: twelve with Parkinson, who did a great job in the playoffs.
- 48:13Speaker 3: He's back, Higby's back, Terrens Ferguson's back, or second round
- 48:17Speaker 3: or last year Max Claire, that was see I know
- 48:22Speaker 3: now now, I know some people are like, oh, it's
- 48:25Speaker 3: it's because Higgby's on a one year deal in Parkinson's
- 48:28Speaker 3: contract expiers after the season. But back back to back
- 48:30Speaker 3: years with tight end second round is so unorthodox.
- 48:34Speaker 1: I know. I guess, right, I guess his retort mcvays
- 48:40Speaker 1: to me, unless he would be we don't worry about
- 48:42Speaker 1: receiver depth because we've got four tight ends and they're
- 48:45Speaker 1: all really good.
- 48:46Speaker 3: No, no, you've said this before. These guys will function
- 48:49Speaker 3: as a third receiver because they'll play. They could play
- 48:51Speaker 3: one guy if you move Adams, if Adams is out
- 48:53Speaker 3: for a game, or you want to play Adams inside
- 48:55Speaker 3: on third down, you could play one of those athletic
- 48:59Speaker 3: tenants X or Claire at X.
- 49:02Speaker 2: Right, it just makes you more It makes you slower
- 49:05Speaker 2: and more methodical. But that's really what the Rams are.
- 49:07Speaker 1: They don't have no explosive players, even Pooka He's explosive
- 49:12Speaker 1: because he's physical, but.
- 49:16Speaker 3: He can't win. Is a true outside receiver. That's why
- 49:19Speaker 3: he reduces him. I mean, I know talking to their
- 49:21Speaker 3: coaches over the years, Sean knew that when he got
- 49:24Speaker 3: Cooper Cup, he knew exactly who Cooper was. Yeah, you
- 49:27Speaker 3: had to reduce him. He might look like an outside
- 49:30Speaker 3: receiver before the snap, he moves inside a little bit. Yeah,
- 49:33Speaker 3: you know, he's that's that's it.
- 49:36Speaker 1: Works for all my critique. They move the ball deliberately,
- 49:39Speaker 1: really well.
- 49:40Speaker 2: It's just that they have to have that structure in
- 49:41Speaker 2: place of Cop.
- 49:43Speaker 3: And another thing before we move to the defense. If
- 49:46Speaker 3: the Eagles pass rush is what we think it's going
- 49:48Speaker 3: to be, I'm thinking this kid, the kid Keegan trut Trust,
- 49:53Speaker 3: the third rounder at a Missouri who's a guard right tackle,
- 49:58Speaker 3: he better start a right tackle because Warn McClendon, I
- 50:01Speaker 3: remember talking to when we talked to BG last year.
- 50:05Speaker 3: BG crushed the guy before tours Achilles.
- 50:08Speaker 1: Yeah, played better down the stretch last year. I mean
- 50:12Speaker 1: he might have improved since that awful game against a triceps.
- 50:17Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, he he he got better.
- 50:20Speaker 1: But you're right in that and this is again, this
- 50:22Speaker 1: is the Rams Suit's a low average, nothing sexy on
- 50:25Speaker 1: the old line. Just a big bunch of brooy guys
- 50:27Speaker 1: who run the ball well and workoff play action.
- 50:31Speaker 3: They Lark Jackson's been a stunner as an unter after
- 50:33Speaker 3: free agent at twenty one. He's a solid left tackle.
- 50:37Speaker 3: Steve Avila's on a Funnie Vers rookie deal. Who has
- 50:39Speaker 3: been a good story. Coleman Shell who came back, was
- 50:42Speaker 3: with the Rams. Bears on the Rams and Dylan not
- 50:45Speaker 3: Vince McMahon former Eagles their backup center. He's too small,
- 50:48Speaker 3: should be a full back. This is see I and
- 50:53Speaker 3: of course Stafford's elite. Ty Simpson, as he mentioned, Kyd
- 50:56Speaker 3: Walls and played corner good Corn did a good job
- 50:58Speaker 3: last year.
- 50:59Speaker 1: Yeah, in fact, I kind of I like Corum a
- 51:01Speaker 1: little bit more to the outside than I do Kyram Williams.
- 51:04Speaker 3: But but you see why the Eagles do well against
- 51:06Speaker 3: him because the Eagles are bigger and more athletic. They
- 51:10Speaker 3: match up very wealth the Rams, as you said at
- 51:12Speaker 3: the starter with this thing, they haven't changed much. Yeah,
- 51:16Speaker 3: other at corner they added that's big. They spent big
- 51:18Speaker 3: on two chiefs corners.
- 51:20Speaker 1: Well, the Eagles have always always hit the Rams with
- 51:23Speaker 1: shot plays, whether it was with Barkley or as whether
- 51:25Speaker 1: it's wide receivers. I will say as we get into
- 51:29Speaker 1: the defense, the Rams have shored up their defense. They're
- 51:31Speaker 1: not as bad at corner as they were. I mean
- 51:33Speaker 1: they've added a stud in McDuffie, and last year when
- 51:37Speaker 1: they played the actually like everybody, they did a much
- 51:39Speaker 1: better job against Barkley. I think the Rams are also
- 51:42Speaker 1: a tough matchup for the Eagles because what do we
- 51:44Speaker 1: say is the recipe or the antidote to a vic
- 51:47Speaker 1: fan joe defense. It's being patient, deliberate, finding voids in
- 51:51Speaker 1: the zones, not trying to overdo it and force it.
- 51:54Speaker 1: And that's what Stafford's pretty good at because that's what
- 51:57Speaker 1: his weaponry is. It's running the ball, it's hitting your
- 51:59Speaker 1: tight ends, finding Nikoua and Williams across the middle of
- 52:03Speaker 1: the field, occasionally deep, but it doesn't have to be
- 52:05Speaker 1: a big part of their game. So the way they
- 52:08Speaker 1: move the ball is a good way to battle against
- 52:11Speaker 1: the Fangio defense and that's why they tend to be
- 52:14Speaker 1: high scoring games.
- 52:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I McVeigh wins by scheme again. You just just
- 52:20Speaker 3: to finish their offensive. That's how they win there. They're
- 52:22Speaker 3: committed to the run. It starts with the run. Everything
- 52:24Speaker 3: they do off that play action, Stafford is you better
- 52:28Speaker 3: be ready at corner because he's super aggressive. He doesn't care,
- 52:34Speaker 3: he does not care. He doesn't care that Quannon's elite.
- 52:38Speaker 3: Maybe you don't think he can go against Quannon. He'll
- 52:41Speaker 3: get he'll go against one. Well, he's going against one plenty,
- 52:44Speaker 3: but he's not afraid of Quinnon. He it don't don't
- 52:49Speaker 3: do whatever they feel like they have to do. So
- 52:51Speaker 3: Eagles matchup well against them, and uh, I like VIC
- 52:56Speaker 3: against them, I really do. Mm hmm. It's the There
- 53:00Speaker 3: are a lot of matchups that I believe we're going
- 53:02Speaker 3: to go very well for the Eagles. Against that offensive line,
- 53:05Speaker 3: they could eat, they could. They mentally have to be
- 53:07Speaker 3: ready because because McVeigh does a lot of misdirection, it's
- 53:12Speaker 3: it's a lot of stuff that's very unique, very unique
- 53:15Speaker 3: motion and all that.
- 53:16Speaker 1: M hm. So yeah, no, I see that. I kind
- 53:21Speaker 1: of like the match up for both offenses against each defense,
- 53:24Speaker 1: to be honest with you, And I think that now
- 53:25Speaker 1: that the Rams, who didn't blitz a whole lot, Chris
- 53:29Speaker 1: Rula did a great job played a lot of his own.
- 53:31Speaker 1: Got a great four man rush because he has Fisk,
- 53:34Speaker 1: and he's got Verse, and he's got Byron Young and
- 53:36Speaker 1: he's got Kobe Turner. That was good.
- 53:38Speaker 2: Those guys all get at the quarterback.
- 53:40Speaker 1: But now if he doesn't want to spice up a
- 53:42Speaker 1: little bit, because you're always trying to evolve, well, you
- 53:44Speaker 1: have Trent McDuffie to use as a guy who can
- 53:47Speaker 1: rush the quarterback from the second level if you want
- 53:50Speaker 1: to add that, and Carl has been able to do
- 53:51Speaker 1: that too, so they're a little bit more diverse defensively.
- 53:54Speaker 1: I think that will give the Eagles a little bit
- 53:56Speaker 1: of trouble because the Eagles by week four will still
- 53:59Speaker 1: be learning their new offense and what they know about
- 54:02Speaker 1: the Rams from playing them in the past won't necessarily
- 54:05Speaker 1: be the same because of what the Rams have added
- 54:06Speaker 1: a little bit there in the secondary, So that'll probably
- 54:09Speaker 1: trip them up a little bit.
- 54:10Speaker 3: Well, they've gone against mctealfan Watson the Super Bowl, so
- 54:12Speaker 3: they know these guys what Watson was so good. He
- 54:16Speaker 3: got pressed into service to be a starting corner, did
- 54:18Speaker 3: a good jay. He's got great length, he just is
- 54:19Speaker 3: not fast right. Curl and Kitchens and Lake when they playing,
- 54:24Speaker 3: they're great at safety. Forbes shocked me, like he played
- 54:29Speaker 3: competent football. He had been awful before last season. He's
- 54:33Speaker 3: got length, he can move, but he's skinny. But he
- 54:35Speaker 3: did a good job. But I'll tell you what I'm
- 54:37Speaker 3: going after Hi. When he's on the field, that's a
- 54:39Speaker 3: guy you can be. He still can beat him.
- 54:41Speaker 2: All right, So after four weeks, what are the two
- 54:43Speaker 2: and two, three and one?
- 54:44Speaker 3: For three and one, I would say three and one.
- 54:48Speaker 3: I'll tell you what. It's a challenging first four because
- 54:52Speaker 3: we didn't when we did the schedule, we did an
- 54:54Speaker 3: overall schedule. Look, we didn't really talk it like the
- 54:56Speaker 3: way we're doing here, which is awesome. Yeah, the commit
- 54:59Speaker 3: the week's one and we three and four or just
- 55:02Speaker 3: well and we'll do week five and we'll do the
- 55:04Speaker 3: Jags game and the other ones that. To be honest
- 55:07Speaker 3: with you, I didn't think of it like this when
- 55:10Speaker 3: we did the schedule review show. I don't realize quite
- 55:13Speaker 3: frank of how tough the first three out of four.
- 55:15Speaker 3: Washington's a lot better than people think. Again, yeah, yeah.
- 55:17Speaker 1: I mean they're not.
- 55:18Speaker 2: To me, they're not five win team. They're like a
- 55:19Speaker 2: nine to ten win team.
- 55:21Speaker 1: I agree with that, and if the quarterback plays amazingly,
- 55:24Speaker 1: then then all bets are off. And yeah, we saw
- 55:27Speaker 1: that had two years ago. So yeah, I think the
- 55:29Speaker 1: Eagles should be two and zero, and then I think
- 55:31Speaker 1: the next two games Bears Rams are are coin flips.
- 55:34Speaker 2: So I would imagine three and one.
- 55:35Speaker 1: But if they were two and two, I wouldn't be like, oh,
- 55:38Speaker 1: this team is really disappointing. I think fans, of course,
- 55:40Speaker 1: you know, you can't lose no matter what you do,
- 55:43Speaker 1: you can't lose in Philadelphia. But I think fans will
- 55:45Speaker 1: be really concerned the way I think it's pretty tough.
- 55:48Speaker 3: It was twenty two, okay, twenty twenty twos they made
- 55:52Speaker 3: the Super Bowl loss in Kansas City, but Eagles were
- 55:54Speaker 3: two and threefter the first five. Okay, right, I'm also
- 55:58Speaker 3: not the EULs obvious look at the Rams' wrongka. One
- 56:01Speaker 3: of the years where the Eagles were great, I don't or.
- 56:05Speaker 1: The very good the year they won the Super Bowl
- 56:07Speaker 1: for the first time in twenty seventeen. One one, yeah,
- 56:12Speaker 1: one on one.
- 56:13Speaker 3: That was when the players went the douggat said they
- 56:15Speaker 3: got to run the ball after weekend.
- 56:16Speaker 2: Because they lost to Kansas City in week two.
- 56:18Speaker 3: What year was it they were good? Maybe it was
- 56:21Speaker 3: with Andy.
- 56:23Speaker 2: I like two thousand and three they were one and three.
- 56:25Speaker 3: One year they were bad and they well know they
- 56:28Speaker 3: were actually wow, no, they were actually owing two and
- 56:31Speaker 3: oh three.
- 56:32Speaker 1: Yeah, and then they went one and then they won
- 56:34Speaker 1: and then lost again. So there were one in three.
- 56:36Speaker 3: Yeah, and that was okay. They were two and three.
- 56:39Speaker 3: They went lost to one two, then lost week six
- 56:43Speaker 3: and then went on a major winning streak. Right, So
- 56:46Speaker 3: you're right. I wouldn't I seen them being three one
- 56:49Speaker 3: one way together. Two and two would be the absolute worst.
- 56:51Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, well we think that will do it.
- 56:54Speaker 1: That's good. That's a good look at week one through four,
- 56:56Speaker 1: and then we'll next episode will do part two. We'll
- 56:58Speaker 1: get into the second part of the schedule.
- 57:01Speaker 2: That's gonna do it.
