- 0:10SPEAKER_00: What is going on everyone?
- 0:12SPEAKER_00: Welcome to The Stan R. Mitchell Show.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: My name is Stan and I'm so glad you are here for another episode.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: The way I've got this show set up is we're going to run through some election stuff,
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: talk about Ukraine,
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: we'll jump to Iran,
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: the big news about Jared Kushner,
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: and then we'll talk about lawfare before finally ending with a little biblical And
- 0:43SPEAKER_00: as always I will have time stamps if you want to jump to one of those subjects.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: As I said earlier, we got an election next week.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: And just as an intro to all of the news,
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: I saw a reporter that I think summed up the fatigue of everyone.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: Because Trump is just, the guy is, he likes to be the center of attention.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: And he is exhausting.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: I think even his supporters would almost agree, the guy is just exhausting.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: And I saw this court reporter who said that Typically,
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: just even a few years ago,
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: that if there were three major court rulings that went against the executive branch
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: in a single month, that would have been a busy month.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: And all the outlets would have done in-depth coverage of all of these rulings
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: and how the executive branch had overstepped its bounds or the norms.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: And the court reporter said, now it's not too unusual to get three of them on the same day.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: And the court reporter said, this is all exhausting.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: And of course, we know that's been one of the modes of operation by the Trump administration.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: It goes back to Steve Bannon,
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: the flood of the zone,
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: move so fast,
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: do so much,
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: break so much,
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: that you just wear people down,
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: keep the media from being able to keep up with what all is happening today.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: And people just kind of start to tune out.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: And of course a lot of people have tuned out for the past year or so.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: And they've started tuning in because the gas prices have just been insane.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: The war in Iran has been insane.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: Heck, even our national debt, we went over $40 trillion.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: The interest alone was a trillion dollars for the fiscal year.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: Which is $87 billion more than we spend on defense.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: And so, like, this can't go on.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: People realize that we thought there might be adults in charge in D.C.,
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: and there are clearly not adults in charge.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: Trump said he was a businessman.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: He said he was an outsider.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: He said he could fix it.
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: He's hardly fixed anything.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: Now, if this is your first time listening,
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: and you've never seen any of my social media posts,
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: but you saw the word faith,
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: and you're like,
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: man, I thought this guy's like an evangelical, big believer in the Bible.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: Yes, I am.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: Southern Baptist, in fact.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: But I am not a fan of Trump.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: I have never voted for the man.
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: And if you listen to my last episode there toward the end,
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: I make the very long conservative case against the character of Trump,
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: all the excesses and abuses and things that man has done,
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: and why I have never supported him in good conscience.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: So I don't care if you're a pastor.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: You can save your little emails.
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: You guys told me in the 90s that character matters when Bill Clinton had a woman in
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: the office with him.
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: But then when we got a guy that dodges the draft for bone spurs
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: that suddenly aren't around anymore and makes fun of a decorated war veteran
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: who didn't come home early while POW.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: I'm talking about John McCain here.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: I'm talking about a rich guy that sued small businesses and bullied them
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: because he had more money and could.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: Talking about a guy that wears makeup and is from New York City.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: Which I'm from down here in the south ain't exactly something we're much about.
- 5:06SPEAKER_00: But I get it.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: You overlooked a lot of stuff.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: Including the fact that he bragged on Howard Stern.
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: About going into the Miss Teen USA pageant contest dressing rooms.
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: And walking around 14, 16 year old young girls.
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: And according to the quote,
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: I'll go backstage before Miss Teen USA show and everyone's getting dressed and ready
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: and everything and no men are anywhere and I'm allowed to go in because I'm
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: the owner of the pageant.
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: Then he goes on to describe how he'll be like, is everything okay?
- 5:40SPEAKER_00: Blah, blah.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: If you don't believe me, Google it.
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: I know that didn't get out much in conservative circles, but it's sickening.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: And he bragged about doing this.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: It wasn't like someone had to break into his emails or something.
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: He didn't even think this was bad behavior.
- 5:54SPEAKER_00: But I get it.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: The border was open.
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: The cultural stuff, the gender stuff had gone too far.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: He didn't like the other lady.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: I get it.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: He promised to release the Epstein list.
- 6:07SPEAKER_00: That was a pretty big deal.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: He promised no new wars.
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: That was a big deal.
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: He promised that he would fix the economy.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: That was definitely a big deal.
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: Of course, he's done none of those things.
- 6:19SPEAKER_00: And thankfully, people have noticed.
- 6:22SPEAKER_00: And thankfully, they are increasingly done with him.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: He is a salesman.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: He has always been a salesman.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: He is a hype man who talks big and then files bankruptcy
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: and falls short consistently until someone bails him out.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: This Tuesday, he can't blame COVID.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: He can't blame Biden.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: He has to own what's headed his way.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: People are clearly increasingly sick of him.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: Fox News, in fact, will finish October with its worst ratings in years.
- 7:03SPEAKER_00: That's not a great sign for Republicans ahead of the midterms compared
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: to Last October, Fox News is down 27% in total viewers.
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: There's a big news report on that.
- 7:17SPEAKER_00: You can check the link in the episode notes if you want.
- 7:21SPEAKER_00: Now, up in Michigan,
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: one of the closing arguments is Trump and company are trying to scare everyone about
- 7:27SPEAKER_00: a Muslim candidate, El Saeed.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: But as I saw someone say, it's kind of really curious how...
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: Republicans hate Muslims when it's Democrats running for office.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: They don't seem to have an issue with Dr. Oz, who's Muslim.
- 7:49SPEAKER_00: Trump clearly has no problem with Saudi money going to his son-in-law
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: or various ventures he's involved in.
- 7:59SPEAKER_00: Trump clearly has no problem getting a free plane from Qatar, $400 million.
- 8:07SPEAKER_00: But if it's a single candidate running in Michigan,
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: this is end of world stuff, according to Trump, some of his people.
- 8:18SPEAKER_00: Make that make sense for me.
- 8:20SPEAKER_00: Now, I am willing to entertain the threat from Islam, but I will not entertain hypocrisy.
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: So if Trump can fly around on a $400 million jet from Qatar,
- 8:33SPEAKER_00: that was a free gift,
- 8:35SPEAKER_00: and Jared Kushner can get $2 billion from the Saudis,
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: then I'm not sure that the threat is a single senator from Michigan or a mayor
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: in New York City.
- 8:51SPEAKER_00: I think the much larger threat is an unchecked executive who only has attorneys
- 8:58SPEAKER_00: that are loyal to him and who constantly does things to push the excesses
- 9:04SPEAKER_00: of constitutional boundaries.
- 9:08SPEAKER_00: I mean, I'm really tiptoeing around the issue,
- 9:09SPEAKER_00: but let's be honest, the guy breaks the law all the time.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: He institutes tariffs without congressional approval.
- 9:18SPEAKER_00: Supreme Court knocks those down.
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: And then he finds another way to try to put more tariffs in place instead
- 9:23SPEAKER_00: of just getting them passed by Congress.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: Courts tell him not to cut down trees.
- 9:29SPEAKER_00: He files something just a few minutes before 5 p.m. and cuts down 400 trees on the weekend.
- 9:34SPEAKER_00: He routinely ignores court orders and pushes every legal framework we have.
- 9:42SPEAKER_00: So clearly I've gone on a bit of a rant here and I could probably do that all night.
- 9:47SPEAKER_00: But let's get through some news.
- 9:50SPEAKER_00: And I will just throw in a footnote that I am center right and I am confident that
- 9:54SPEAKER_00: when Democrats get in charge and start doing crazy things,
- 9:59SPEAKER_00: although maybe they've slightly learned their lesson,
- 10:01SPEAKER_00: maybe, but I will be just as hard on them as I have been on President Trump.
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: I am proudly center-right,
- 10:08SPEAKER_00: not a member of either party,
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: proud independent,
- 10:12SPEAKER_00: and I try to call it as fair as I can, as close down the middle as I can.
- 10:18SPEAKER_00: So, Ukraine news.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: Let's cover some things there.
- 10:21SPEAKER_00: Now, the President has said just a day or so ago that there's been a lot of progress
- 10:28SPEAKER_00: with negotiations,
- 10:31SPEAKER_00: there's a potential meeting coming up between He's been saying stuff like this
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: for two years and he promised to end the war in 24 hours.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: Frankly, I don't think he has it yet.
- 10:48SPEAKER_00: Unfortunately, the president is very upset.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: He's
- 11:08SPEAKER_00: essentially encouraging the war through his actions, even when his words don't.
- 11:12SPEAKER_00: But let's be real,
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: often his words do,
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: because he won't say Putin needs to go for election, but he will say Zelensky does.
- 11:21SPEAKER_00: He is clearly not a fan of democracy, and he's clearly a fan of Russia and Vladimir Putin.
- 11:29SPEAKER_00: You say, Stan, how can you say that?
- 11:31SPEAKER_00: Well, we saw the red carpet in Alaska for Putin.
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: We saw how he and J.D.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: Vance treated Zelensky in the White House.
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: They berated and tried to embarrass him.
- 11:43SPEAKER_00: It was, frankly, disgusting.
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: Moving to some other news,
- 11:49SPEAKER_00: we know the president tried to sign a little oil deal with Vladimir Putin.
- 11:55SPEAKER_00: We'll say that this might not work out quite as well as he had hoped.
- 11:59SPEAKER_00: Senator Richard Blumenthal,
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: a Democrat,
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: He put a legal letter out there to one of the companies involved in shipping
- 12:08SPEAKER_00: that oil to the United States.
- 12:12SPEAKER_00: And he reminded them that if they deliver diesel fuel as it appears they are to
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: the United States,
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: they will be violating a very explicit statute which was passed in 2022.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: He
- 12:28SPEAKER_00: reminds that company that no president can unilaterally override a statute passed
- 12:34SPEAKER_00: by Congress and that the recent license
- 12:39SPEAKER_00: by President Trump will not absolve any company of its legal
- 12:45SPEAKER_00: and moral accountability.
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: Senator Blumenthal reminded them that you are complicit if you take part in this and
- 12:55SPEAKER_00: that you are aiding and abetting sanctions evaders for profit, as he told them.
- 13:03SPEAKER_00: And so you can read the letter in the episode notes if you want to.
- 13:07SPEAKER_00: It's actually a pretty good letter.
- 13:08SPEAKER_00: Of course, sadly, Russia takes revenue from exporting fuel.
- 13:15SPEAKER_00: It spends the money on its war with Ukraine.
- 13:19SPEAKER_00: Ukraine pays for it with human lives.
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: And so it is important that there continues to be bipartisan opposition to weakening sanctions.
- 13:29SPEAKER_00: Because Ukraine is...
- 13:32SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's literally like blood money.
- 13:35SPEAKER_00: And I know you might be skeptical, but I actually think the letter is quite effective.
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: Because for a couple of years, until the plummeting poll numbers of the president...
- 13:46SPEAKER_00: A lot of billionaires and big companies have donated to the ballroom.
- 13:51SPEAKER_00: They've done everything they can to curry favor with the president.
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: Donating to a super PAC, doing all kinds of things.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: But I think they're finally,
- 14:02SPEAKER_00: and I think they bet on that this conservative shift of the country would continue.
- 14:12SPEAKER_00: And clearly, President Trump has worn out his welcome.
- 14:16SPEAKER_00: And I think they're quickly realizing that they have probably overstepped
- 14:21SPEAKER_00: and overplayed their hand.
- 14:24SPEAKER_00: There will soon be a Democratic Congress in the House, almost certainly.
- 14:28SPEAKER_00: There's an increasingly decent chance it'll be the Senate as well.
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: And that's when the investigations will begin.
- 14:35SPEAKER_00: That's when executives will have to come before hearings on camera.
- 14:40SPEAKER_00: We remember how this happened with the car dealers,
- 14:43SPEAKER_00: Ford and GM, and when that happened, this isn't a fun place for a CEO to be.
- 14:50SPEAKER_00: Sometimes I like to read comments on threads after a post on Blue Sky or X,
- 14:59SPEAKER_00: and someone mentioned that This is a serious warning to some of these companies
- 15:05SPEAKER_00: that are shipping that not only do they have legal risk,
- 15:09SPEAKER_00: they have reputational risk.
- 15:11SPEAKER_00: And I think that's what we will see.
- 15:14SPEAKER_00: The shame and
- 15:17SPEAKER_00: You know,
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: there is a real danger for any company that,
- 15:23SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 15:23SPEAKER_00: we've seen it with Target, we've seen it with companies on the left or the right.
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: If you get on the wrong side of the mood of the country and you overplay your hands,
- 15:33SPEAKER_00: it can be devastating to your profits.
- 15:37SPEAKER_00: And the Ukraine war has consistently been something that 60-70% of Americans support Ukraine.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: Because we saw its democratic fight to remove a Russian right-hand strongman.
- 15:55SPEAKER_00: They have fought for their independence.
- 15:58SPEAKER_00: They created a democracy.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: Is it perfect?
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: No.
- 16:03SPEAKER_00: They elected Zelensky.
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: Russia invaded Zelensky.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: Zelensky,
- 16:09SPEAKER_00: unlike every foreign leader before him,
- 16:12SPEAKER_00: decided to stay and fight and asked for more ammo,
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: despite literal Russian gunmen trying to hunt him down in the capital city and
- 16:21SPEAKER_00: an aerial assault taking place that thankfully the Ukrainians stopped
- 16:25SPEAKER_00: at their major airport,
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: a very famous battle there, but he showed tremendous courage.
- 16:34SPEAKER_00: At a time when the West and the U.S.
- 16:36SPEAKER_00: wasn't even sending weapons because we didn't want them to fall into Russian hands.
- 16:42SPEAKER_00: We thought Ukraine would fall.
- 16:45SPEAKER_00: Nearly every military analyst believed Ukraine would fall.
- 16:48SPEAKER_00: They showed tremendous courage.
- 16:51SPEAKER_00: And Americans will always,
- 16:54SPEAKER_00: it's like in our DNA, to support people who are fighting for freedom.
- 17:00SPEAKER_00: We know what that's like.
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: We know how much we appreciate the freedom to do so many things from voting
- 17:08SPEAKER_00: to owning a gun to having really quite a bit of liberty against our own government.
- 17:18SPEAKER_00: Now, I know some people would jump in and be like, well, what about the flock cameras?
- 17:22SPEAKER_00: Or what about this?
- 17:23SPEAKER_00: Or what about that?
- 17:25SPEAKER_00: Or the abortion ruling?
- 17:27SPEAKER_00: I mean, you can make a case on some various things, no doubt.
- 17:33SPEAKER_00: But...
- 17:34SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of countries in the world.
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of planes that leave this country every single day.
- 17:41SPEAKER_00: And you can fly anywhere you want.
- 17:43SPEAKER_00: And there ain't a lot of people flying and leaving.
- 17:46SPEAKER_00: Because we live in one of the greatest countries in the world.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: Period.
- 17:50SPEAKER_00: I will always believe that America is one of the greatest countries in the world.
- 17:57SPEAKER_00: And if you are living here or were born here, you were blessed.
- 18:03SPEAKER_00: You won the lottery ticket.
- 18:06SPEAKER_00: I still believe that America is like a light on a hill, a city on a hill.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: I know we have done a lot to hurt that reputation the past couple of years,
- 18:18SPEAKER_00: bullying other countries, renegotiating deals that were in place.
- 18:23SPEAKER_00: Just the behavior of the executive branch has been embarrassing and horrific.
- 18:31SPEAKER_00: But I do not believe that is who we are.
- 18:35SPEAKER_00: I know that is not what a 17-year-old young man from Knoxville signed up to serve in
- 18:44SPEAKER_00: the Marine Corps at the age of 16, wanted to be guaranteed infantry.
- 18:48SPEAKER_00: The Marine Corps said they didn't have any slots,
- 18:50SPEAKER_00: so started talking to the Army,
- 18:52SPEAKER_00: even did one of their little weekend drills for the pulleys,
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: and then the Marine Corps suddenly found an infantry contract.
- 19:00SPEAKER_00: But that guy That young man named Stan, he believed in the ideals of this country.
- 19:09SPEAKER_00: And I believe that a majority of the people who live in this country still hold to,
- 19:16SPEAKER_00: still are willing to defend,
- 19:19SPEAKER_00: still believe in those ideals that we don't always hold up to,
- 19:25SPEAKER_00: but that is who we are.
- 19:28SPEAKER_00: So if you're a company out there and you want to do a deal with the Russians, go for it.
- 19:33SPEAKER_00: But I don't think that's going to work out very well
- 19:35SPEAKER_00: while they are bombing mercilessly civilians in cities in Ukraine.
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: And if your name's Donald Trump or Pete Hegseth
- 19:45SPEAKER_00: and you think holding up defensive missiles
- 19:49SPEAKER_00: that would help Ukraine defend themselves is something most Americans are okay with,
- 19:55SPEAKER_00: I think you're wrong about that too.
- 19:58SPEAKER_00: I hear you out there and you're like, no, we need those for our troops.
- 20:01SPEAKER_00: Or what about the Iran thing?
- 20:03SPEAKER_00: And it's like, hey,
- 20:04SPEAKER_00: Scooter, listen,
- 20:06SPEAKER_00: do you not remember the earlier part of the show when Trump said,
- 20:10SPEAKER_00: I want to have no new wars?
- 20:13SPEAKER_00: Well, he's the reason that we had to use so many missiles in the Middle East.
- 20:20SPEAKER_00: That is,
- 20:20SPEAKER_00: of course,
- 20:21SPEAKER_00: terrible news for the Russians,
- 20:22SPEAKER_00: who have had the highest casualties of a single month ever just in this past month.
- 20:27SPEAKER_00: So,
- 20:45SPEAKER_00: The Russians keep trying to send infantry forward.
- 20:47SPEAKER_00: The Ukrainians are in well-protected positions and using hundreds and thousands
- 20:54SPEAKER_00: of drones to kill Russian infantry while also targeting fuel logistics,
- 21:00SPEAKER_00: hitting tanker trucks, hitting trains.
- 21:03SPEAKER_00: I think they hit 14 trains in the past month that were carrying logistics toward the front.
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: The Ukrainians are doing exceptional things.
- 21:12SPEAKER_00: And the Russians are struggling with stopping any of the long-range drone attacks
- 21:18SPEAKER_00: that the Ukrainians are launching against Russia.
- 21:22SPEAKER_00: We talked in the past couple of weeks about some major data centers that were hit.
- 21:26SPEAKER_00: They've obviously hit some large logistical,
- 21:29SPEAKER_00: like the Russian Amazon plants that were being hit, so to speak.
- 21:33SPEAKER_00: Obviously it wasn't Amazon, but it was their version of Amazon.
- 21:36SPEAKER_00: Those large warehouses have been hit.
- 21:39SPEAKER_00: But on the data center thing,
- 21:40SPEAKER_00: the second and final thing I wanted to just mention before moving off of
- 21:45SPEAKER_00: the Ukraine stuff is that Russia started trying to hit Ukraine's data centers
- 21:52SPEAKER_00: as retaliation.
- 21:54SPEAKER_00: And Zelensky addressed that and he said
- 21:56SPEAKER_00: that Ukraine's data centers are far more decentralized
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: than Their digital infrastructure is decentralized.
- 22:03SPEAKER_00: Where in Russia,
- 22:05SPEAKER_00: because they want to control the internet and not allow anyone to hear the truth,
- 22:10SPEAKER_00: theirs are all very centralized.
- 22:12SPEAKER_00: So he says Ukraine has a decentralized digital infrastructure.
- 22:18SPEAKER_00: And that mobile and internet services are running despite Russian attacks on data centers.
- 22:24SPEAKER_00: And that the Ukrainian strikes on Russia hurt Russia more
- 22:29SPEAKER_00: because their infrastructure is centralized and so he's not too concerned.
- 22:33SPEAKER_00: And I mean, it makes sense.
- 22:37SPEAKER_00: If you watch any of the videos of the many attacks happening on Russian cities
- 22:41SPEAKER_00: where Ukraine's hitting military targets or actual targets that matter,
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: the Russians are struggling to shoot down Ukrainian drones because they haven't
- 22:50SPEAKER_00: for four years endured consistent nightly bombardments from cruise missiles
- 22:58SPEAKER_00: and Ballistic missiles.
- 23:01SPEAKER_00: At one point it was fighter jets.
- 23:02SPEAKER_00: So Ukraine's air defenses are impressive and they're formidable even
- 23:07SPEAKER_00: though they're running out of ammo.
- 23:09SPEAKER_00: But Europe is working to make sure that isn't as dangerous as it could be.
- 23:16SPEAKER_00: In fact,
- 23:16SPEAKER_00: I believe it was Denmark sent 20,000 20mm shells to Ukraine which can be loaded
- 23:23SPEAKER_00: into F-16s.
- 23:25SPEAKER_00: Alright, let's jump now to Iran.
- 23:47SPEAKER_00: We know that there are still increasing signs of a potential attack again on Iran
- 23:53SPEAKER_00: if some kind of deal isn't reached soon.
- 23:56SPEAKER_00: But there's just three things I wanted to hit real quick.
- 23:59SPEAKER_00: First, as you probably saw,
- 24:02SPEAKER_00: the President himself has been making money from the U.S. oil and gas industry.
- 24:09SPEAKER_00: CBS News reported that his personal holdings in oil and gas have essentially doubled
- 24:16SPEAKER_00: and so Doesn't exactly look good.
- 24:20SPEAKER_00: Now he'll say his funds are managed by whomever,
- 24:22SPEAKER_00: but you'd like to think if you were leading a war,
- 24:25SPEAKER_00: you might want to divest from that particular industry.
- 24:31SPEAKER_00: Second thing I wanted to mention was oil hit $115 a barrel in the last few days.
- 24:38SPEAKER_00: That is the highest it's been since May.
- 24:42SPEAKER_00: Not great if you have an election on Tuesday.
- 24:44SPEAKER_00: And then finally,
- 24:45SPEAKER_00: there was more additional reporting on That confirmed,
- 24:51SPEAKER_00: the Associated Press had this, but there's been plenty of reporting.
- 24:54SPEAKER_00: I mentioned in a previous episode that even Fox News had said this,
- 24:57SPEAKER_00: but they have further nailed down that when Iran does an attack on Saudi Arabia or
- 25:08SPEAKER_00: when the Houthis fire missiles...
- 25:11SPEAKER_00: They studied more than 40 missile and drone attacks against Saudi Arabia
- 25:17SPEAKER_00: between July 1st and October 19th.
- 25:19SPEAKER_00: This is a pretty wide stretch of time.
- 25:23SPEAKER_00: July 1st to October 19th, multiple months, 40 different attacks by missiles and drones.
- 25:33SPEAKER_00: This geospatial intelligence firm said in all 40 different attacks, they found the same pattern.
- 25:41SPEAKER_00: Russian government and military satellites orbit above the areas for days,
- 25:47SPEAKER_00: both before and after.
- 25:51SPEAKER_00: Which just further confirms what everyone already knew,
- 25:53SPEAKER_00: which is that Russia is helping our enemies.
- 25:58SPEAKER_00: Why does Trump have an oil deal with him again?
- 26:02SPEAKER_00: Alright, I think I'm going to just cut it off there.
- 26:04SPEAKER_00: I had planned to talk about the Jared Kushner story.
- 26:07SPEAKER_00: If you have no idea what I'm talking about, just hit Google.
- 26:11SPEAKER_00: And then also some of the lawfare stuff.
- 26:15SPEAKER_00: But essentially I don't think I have to tell anyone anything new
- 26:20SPEAKER_00: that you haven't already heard in the past week about how they have again gone after
- 26:24SPEAKER_00: the former FBI director Jim Comey for a third time.
- 26:30SPEAKER_00: This will probably fail again soon.
- 26:33SPEAKER_00: This is for something that's been investigated before and it's also passed
- 26:38SPEAKER_00: the statute of limitations according to the attorneys for Jim Comey.
- 26:44SPEAKER_00: But I don't really have the time or energy to go into what I really think about that.
- 26:51SPEAKER_00: I will just say I trust Jim Comey about a hundred times more than I trust Donald Trump.
- 26:56SPEAKER_00: Let's talk about faith for just a moment.
- 26:59SPEAKER_00: I like to add a little biblical encouragement to every episode.
- 27:04SPEAKER_00: I'm just going to read a few Proverbs from the chapter I was reading in this week.
- 27:10SPEAKER_00: These all come from Proverbs chapter 17.
- 27:14SPEAKER_00: First, let's talk about friendship and love.
- 27:20SPEAKER_00: Proverbs 17 verse 9.
- 27:22SPEAKER_00: Love prospers when a fault is forgiven.
- 27:26SPEAKER_00: But dwelling on it separates close friends.
- 27:31SPEAKER_00: And this is something I've been terrible at most of my life and sometimes still am.
- 27:36SPEAKER_00: Jumping further into the chapter.
- 28:04SPEAKER_00: As humans, we want to be self-reliant.
- 28:07SPEAKER_00: That's what our culture teaches.
- 28:09SPEAKER_00: But Proverbs says, anyone who trusts in high walls invites disaster.
- 28:15SPEAKER_00: Again, anyone who trusts in high walls invites disaster.
- 28:20SPEAKER_00: The only thing you should be trusting in is your Lord and Savior.
- 28:26SPEAKER_00: And then let's just jump one more.
- 28:30SPEAKER_00: Proverbs 17,
- 28:31SPEAKER_00: verse 22,
- 28:32SPEAKER_00: A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person's strength.
- 28:47SPEAKER_00: When your heart is not cheerful, when you have a broken spirit, your strength starts to drain.
- 28:55SPEAKER_00: You don't feel like exercising.
- 28:57SPEAKER_00: You don't feel like eating right.
- 28:59SPEAKER_00: How do we counter that?
- 29:02SPEAKER_00: Scripture says we renew our minds daily.
- 29:06SPEAKER_00: How do you do that?
- 29:08SPEAKER_00: You read the Word.
- 29:12SPEAKER_00: Read Scripture.
- 29:15SPEAKER_00: Have community.
- 29:18SPEAKER_00: Preferably with believers.
- 29:22SPEAKER_00: That is how we keep from having a broken spirit.
- 29:28SPEAKER_00: Thanks for listening to this faith section.
- 29:30SPEAKER_00: If you're skeptical about any of this, don't take my word for it.
- 29:35SPEAKER_00: Read the Bible for yourself.
- 29:38SPEAKER_00: I've linked a short guide in the episode notes,
- 29:41SPEAKER_00: but if you want to skip all of that,
- 29:43SPEAKER_00: just start with the Gospel of Mark in the New Testament.
- 29:47SPEAKER_00: Read it with an open mind and decide for yourself.
- 29:52SPEAKER_00: If it's nonsense, you'll figure that out.
- 29:55SPEAKER_00: But if it really is the Word of God, that changes everything.
- 30:01SPEAKER_00: So don't be afraid to open the book and see for yourself.
- 30:04SPEAKER_00: If it starts to speak to you Or if you're someone who used to go to church
- 30:09SPEAKER_00: but no longer does, make sure you find a good local church.
- 30:14SPEAKER_00: One that believes that the Bible is the Word of God,
- 30:17SPEAKER_00: that Scripture is true, trustworthy, and without error.
- 30:22SPEAKER_00: Find the people that you need to surround yourself with to get through life
- 30:28SPEAKER_00: because life is hard and scripture is clear that we should go through it
- 30:33SPEAKER_00: with community and that community should include people who believe in
- 30:38SPEAKER_00: a higher power.
- 30:40SPEAKER_00: And one last thing,
- 30:42SPEAKER_00: if you're a veteran struggling with PTSD,
- 30:45SPEAKER_00: depression,
- 30:46SPEAKER_00: or thoughts of suicide, please use the resources I've linked in the episode notes.
- 30:52SPEAKER_00: You've made it through hard things before.
- 30:55SPEAKER_00: Don't try to fight this one alone.
- 30:58SPEAKER_00: We need you here.
- 31:00SPEAKER_00: Your life matters.
- 31:02SPEAKER_00: Don't give up.
- 31:07SPEAKER_00: Thanks for joining me this week.
- 31:09SPEAKER_00: As you head into the coming days, try to be a little kinder, online and out in the world.
- 31:14SPEAKER_00: Remember that most Americans are good people, even if they vote differently than you do.
- 31:20SPEAKER_00: And keep working on yourself, mentally, physically, and spiritually.
- 31:26SPEAKER_00: Try to be a little better this week than you were last week.
- 31:30SPEAKER_00: You don't have to be perfect, just keep moving forward.
- 31:35SPEAKER_00: When the news gets discouraging, and you know it will, Don't give up on this country.
- 31:41SPEAKER_00: I'm betting when you finish this podcast,
- 31:44SPEAKER_00: you're going to hear a lot of angry rhetoric,
- 31:47SPEAKER_00: either in your neighborhood or maybe from your news source.
- 31:52SPEAKER_00: But remember these truths.
- 31:55SPEAKER_00: Division weakens us.
- 31:58SPEAKER_00: Unity strengthens us.
- 32:02SPEAKER_00: So be careful what you feed your mind and your spirit.
- 32:07SPEAKER_00: If you're a person of faith,
- 32:09SPEAKER_00: Spend some time in your Bible this week,
- 32:11SPEAKER_00: and if you're not, maybe pick one up and give it a try.
- 32:15SPEAKER_00: Finally,
- 32:16SPEAKER_00: if you'd like to support what I'm doing here,
- 32:18SPEAKER_00: or check out any of my books, you'll find links in the episode notes.
- 32:24SPEAKER_00: Until next time,
- 32:25SPEAKER_00: stay hopeful,
- 32:26SPEAKER_00: stay humble, and keep working to be the light in your corner of the world.
- 32:32SPEAKER_00: You've been listening to The Stan R. Mitchell Show.
