- 0:01Mizrahi Inspiration Share #5 Today we're going to discover
- 0:07from Ralph Cooke's perspective where does this concept of
- 0:12loving everybody come from? So Ralph Cooke teaches us the
- 0:14love of mankind must be alive in the heart and the soul.
- 0:18A love for each individual person and a love for all the
- 0:22nations, said his son, Rod Svidar Cook.
- 0:27The righteous man must fill his heart with love and nurture
- 0:30within himself and Ahava a love for everyone.
- 0:35This is a great insight. It seems like a great
- 0:37innovation. But really, is it a simple
- 0:41question? Lots of people have universal
- 0:44love. Many religions and enlightened
- 0:46people talk about social love and social justice.
- 0:49And So what is a unique about the Jewish perspective?
- 0:52What am I really teaching you? What are we learning here?
- 0:57It began in the Torah and it began with Avraham Avino.
- 1:01The world's recognition of the value of love comes from Avram.
- 1:04Avino Avram is called Avraham My love, Avram Ahuvi.
- 1:11He loved the world to all of its being with its video to explain
- 1:15that we should reach the historical stage of Masha Rabeno
- 1:18only upon the foundations of the love that Avraham started.
- 1:23The Torah comes to us from Masha must have got the Torah.
- 1:26Mount Sinai. We know that from the Mishna.
- 1:29But I'll meet dot Our characteristics, the qualities
- 1:32that we live, the values we live by, originated with Avraham.
- 1:38A person only merits an acquisition of Torah on the
- 1:40basis of the pure, refined qualities that they have.
- 1:45The greater at Hamid Raham, greater.
- 1:46A sage is in that Torah learning, and the more he
- 1:51deserves the designation of you're a Torah scholar, the more
- 1:55he's obligated to be filled with the love for all of the world.
- 2:01The rabbi's filtered down the teaching as follows.
- 2:04The everyone who has a good eye is a student of Avrahamavino.
- 2:09Avramavino is all love and sympathy, loving Hashem and
- 2:12loving mankind. Out of his love for Hashem, He
- 2:15loves all people, the heaven and the earth, and all of creation.
- 2:20He has the special attribute filling all of his being of a
- 2:22good and sympathetic eye. His opposite, who is the counter
- 2:27for Avraham, was the wicked Billam, who used the very same
- 2:31eyes, the physical eyes, not to love, but to curse.
- 2:36This aspect of love, to see the world in a sympathetic eye, is a
- 2:39trait which the people of Israel inherited from Avramovino.
- 2:43Understandably, loving all people is not a simple thing to
- 2:46do. True love, says Rough Cook
- 2:50demanded diligent work, years of study, deep inquiry into the
- 2:54most exalted reaches of Divine Providence in the world.
- 3:00Really, we can say like this one who truly loves the Creator
- 3:03loves the creation which He created.
- 3:07You can't truly love Hashem without loving what He did, what
- 3:09He does, what He did. He hates the works which Hashem
- 3:12has created. And you don't really love
- 3:14Hashem, so how do we make sure we keep loving?
- 3:19Well, that very first sentence in Shukhana Rukhva.
- 3:21Actually, it's a passer can tell him she Vt Hasham La Negdi Tammy
- 3:25that placed her sham performing. Always.
- 3:29If you've got a sham before you, always.
- 3:30And that is the focus of focus on Hashem and then the love for
- 3:35Hashem comes out, then clearly you'll then be able to love
- 3:39everything that Hashem created. But that requires that's
- 3:43discipline. That requires effort.
- 3:45This is prosaic concept is lovely ideas, but it's very,
- 3:49very difficult to do that. Seeing Hashem in the world and
- 3:53loving all people is a teaching which needs constant repetition
- 3:57precisely because it is so readily forgotten.
- 4:00It's a teaching which is constantly new.
- 4:03Have a fantastic day.
