- 1:17SPEAKER_07: But she it's print stuff.
- 1:19SPEAKER_07: It's a printer that she needs and it's going to make her life easier.
- 1:23SPEAKER_10: Well, it's that one that uh for the t-shirts, right?
- 1:25SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:28SPEAKER_07: Make her her own transfers.
- 1:29SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 1:29SPEAKER_07: Yes.
- 1:30SPEAKER_07: So uh I had to clean out this section right here.
- 1:34SPEAKER_07: Is that where it's gonna go?
- 1:35SPEAKER_07: That's where it's gonna go.
- 1:36SPEAKER_07: You better move your guitar first.
- 1:37SPEAKER_07: Oh no, no, I'm not done.
- 1:38SPEAKER_07: I'm not done.
- 1:39SPEAKER_07: So I sent you pictures.
- 1:40SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:41SPEAKER_07: And uh the the the fun dungeon was not very fun.
- 1:45SPEAKER_07: It was just I mean, it's always been a mess, but it was just we couldn't do the podcast anymore.
- 1:50SPEAKER_07: It was our mess.
- 1:50SPEAKER_07: It was our mess.
- 1:51SPEAKER_07: So so I almost canceled and then I said, you know what, we'll do it Wednesday night, and I'll just drag everything out of here and move it in the other section, and then but hopefully I say this, I don't know that that's gonna happen.
- 2:05SPEAKER_07: Hopefully, next week we'll broadcast from the other section.
- 2:12SPEAKER_07: You saw the other section.
- 2:14SPEAKER_10: From from the other side of the fun dungeon! Right.
- 2:17SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 2:17SPEAKER_07: Yeah, we do have to come up with a new name.
- 2:20SPEAKER_07: Um actually I told I was at uh KMH and I told Morton this.
- 2:24SPEAKER_07: You know, that weren't I might have to cancel the fight.
- 2:26SPEAKER_07: He says, if you guys want to come down to the sta the store and do it.
- 2:30SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I I think that would be fun.
- 2:32SPEAKER_10: It would be fun.
- 2:33SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 2:33SPEAKER_07: And I was like, hmm, I might take you up on that.
- 2:36SPEAKER_10: We we could uh cloister ourselves in the old vinyl room.
- 2:39SPEAKER_10: Right.
- 2:40SPEAKER_07: You know, something and we could use this if we had to.
- 2:43SPEAKER_10: Yeah, I mean that still works.
- 2:45SPEAKER_07: Yeah, but I mean we could probably still bring that.
- 2:47SPEAKER_10: I mean that's well, I mean, that's still pretty poor.
- 2:48SPEAKER_07: We wouldn't have these.
- 2:52SPEAKER_10: I suppose we could bring that.
- 2:53SPEAKER_10: Yeah, I suppose.
- 2:53SPEAKER_07: Well, that's what I can do.
- 2:55SPEAKER_07: Just unplug your mic.
- 2:59SPEAKER_09: I can mobile.
- 3:01SPEAKER_09: I can mobile all over the world.
- 3:07SPEAKER_09: You gotta plug in, Doug.
- 3:09SPEAKER_09: There you go.
- 3:10SPEAKER_07: Wow, you're amazing.
- 3:12SPEAKER_07: Look at me go.
- 3:13SPEAKER_07: Fantastic.
- 3:14SPEAKER_07: I enjoyed every second.
- 3:15SPEAKER_07: I wish I wish we were on video.
- 3:20SPEAKER_09: All over the world.
- 3:22SPEAKER_10: I didn't leave the couch.
- 3:26SPEAKER_07: Speaking of that, um, I'm not sure that's coming to the new section.
- 3:30SPEAKER_07: That's fine.
- 3:31SPEAKER_07: I mean, I I love it.
- 3:32SPEAKER_07: I mean, it is falling apart.
- 3:33SPEAKER_07: You if yeah, if I took the cover off this, it would be disgusting.
- 3:38SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 3:38SPEAKER_10: I I still love it.
- 3:39SPEAKER_10: Oh, sure.
- 3:40SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 3:41SPEAKER_10: I'll miss it, but I I'm okay with it.
- 3:43SPEAKER_07: We gotta get you another something to sit on.
- 3:46SPEAKER_10: Well, I mean, anyway, folding chair, I could sit on and maybe something like this, like a desk chair.
- 3:51SPEAKER_07: Yeah, something like that.
- 3:52SPEAKER_07: We'll get something.
- 3:52SPEAKER_10: We'll figure something out.
- 3:53SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 3:54SPEAKER_07: Um or maybe I'll just maybe I'll just go on marketplace and and find a cheap love seat that's in better shape than that one.
- 4:00SPEAKER_07: I don't know.
- 4:01SPEAKER_07: We'll figure it out.
- 4:01SPEAKER_10: We'll figure it out.
- 4:02SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 4:02SPEAKER_07: I'm not uh I'm not too concerned about it right now.
- 4:06SPEAKER_07: Um like I said, episode 309.
- 4:09SPEAKER_07: And what what what happened last week that we uh last weekend that we We played at uh feed the county game?
- 4:14SPEAKER_07: Yes, we did.
- 4:15SPEAKER_07: Okay, I I can never remember what we have to recap.
- 4:19SPEAKER_07: So yes.
- 4:19SPEAKER_07: Uh great turnout.
- 4:21SPEAKER_10: Yeah, it was it was well attended.
- 4:23SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 4:23SPEAKER_10: Uh it was a beautiful, beautiful day.
- 4:25SPEAKER_07: Yep.
- 4:26SPEAKER_07: Um and I think it it gets bigger every year.
- 4:28SPEAKER_10: Yeah, I was about to say I was who I was talking to Bob, and uh I was like, yeah, Bob or Jared or both of us.
- 4:35SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah.
- 4:35SPEAKER_10: Um you know, I was like the first year we were here, it was like, yeah, you know.
- 4:40SPEAKER_10: Yep.
- 4:41SPEAKER_10: But the second year, like last year, it was like, oh, okay.
- 4:44SPEAKER_10: And this year it was like, whoa.
- 4:46SPEAKER_07: Well the first year we we did it, it rained, right?
- 4:48SPEAKER_10: Yeah, it rained all day and it was kind of miserable.
- 4:50SPEAKER_07: So Yeah, uh and and this year, um So what it is is basically there's a big tent uh for people to sit under and you know they they've got heating things and and there's live music under the tent, but then there's a stage uh where the where the bigger acts play and they have food trucks and it's all and and they have um um foliage rides up the the skee toe.
- 5:13SPEAKER_07: Yep.
- 5:14SPEAKER_10: Um they have a big golf tournament because the golf course is down the road.
- 5:17SPEAKER_07: Under the tent they also had an art battle.
- 5:19SPEAKER_10: Yeah, they that was that was new.
- 5:20SPEAKER_10: That was kind of neat.
- 5:21SPEAKER_10: That was kind of neat to watch.
- 5:22SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 5:22SPEAKER_10: And then you got you can take your ATV to the top of the mountain.
- 5:26SPEAKER_10: Right.
- 5:26SPEAKER_07: You know, it's a it's a really great event.
- 5:28SPEAKER_07: It really is, yeah.
- 5:29SPEAKER_07: And they raise money for to for the food pantries around Darusta County.
- 5:33SPEAKER_07: Yep.
- 5:33SPEAKER_07: So um I think they I think they did produ I don't know any numbers, but I think I must say I haven't heard anything.
- 5:39SPEAKER_07: They must have done very, very well.
- 5:40SPEAKER_07: I hope so.
- 5:41SPEAKER_07: I hope they didn't.
- 5:42SPEAKER_07: And uh the guy that hired us for the past two years you know, loves us and and wants us to sit back again.
- 5:48SPEAKER_07: And we love him.
- 5:49SPEAKER_07: We do.
- 5:49SPEAKER_07: And so we'll be playing there again next year, hopefully.
- 5:52SPEAKER_07: Hopefully.
- 5:52SPEAKER_07: Um he he he said he's gonna he's gonna book us, so that's good.
- 5:55SPEAKER_07: Sweet.
- 5:56SPEAKER_07: Um, but yeah, that was a that was a success and a surprise.
- 5:59SPEAKER_10: And you tried to kill me.
- 6:01SPEAKER_07: I didn't do it.
- 6:04SPEAKER_07: I how are you, by the way?
- 6:06SPEAKER_07: How's your knee?
- 6:07SPEAKER_07: It's fine, yeah.
- 6:08SPEAKER_10: It uh surprisingly, I'm I'm glad it was on grass.
- 6:11SPEAKER_10: Yeah, yeah.
- 6:12SPEAKER_10: Because if I fell on concrete, I would have been like bruised for days.
- 6:15SPEAKER_07: So so let's let's let's recap.
- 6:19SPEAKER_07: Actually, before we get to that, um we were surprised to see our friend Bob.
- 6:23SPEAKER_07: You mentioned tomorrow.
- 6:24SPEAKER_07: Bob the painter.
- 6:24SPEAKER_07: Bob the painter uh showed up to our performance with his brother Jared, who I when I was thinking about it after we left.
- 6:31SPEAKER_07: I haven't seen Jared since he got married.
- 6:33SPEAKER_07: It's gotta be 20 years.
- 6:34SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 6:34SPEAKER_07: At least.
- 6:35SPEAKER_10: I think the last time I saw him was at was at his wedding.
- 6:38SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 6:38SPEAKER_07: So yeah, I haven't seen him in in in 20 years.
- 6:41SPEAKER_07: And and and Jake, Bob's oldest son, was uh was there as well.
- 6:45SPEAKER_07: Um He's a good kid.
- 6:46SPEAKER_07: He's a great kid.
- 6:47SPEAKER_07: All his kids are great kids.
- 6:49SPEAKER_07: They really are.
- 6:49SPEAKER_07: They're doing really well.
- 6:50SPEAKER_07: And it was really nice to see him.
- 6:52SPEAKER_07: But as we're there talking uh after our performance, I had packed everything up in my I have a like a f uh uh flight case, not a flight case, I guess.
- 7:01SPEAKER_07: It's like a rolling suitcase.
- 7:02SPEAKER_07: It's a rolling suitcase.
- 7:03SPEAKER_07: And I had packed everything up and I left it there in the corner on the ground, grass.
- 7:08SPEAKER_07: And uh as we're talking, I I'm not gonna lie to you, I thought maybe you'd like had a seizure or you had something.
- 7:15SPEAKER_07: I wish.
- 7:16SPEAKER_10: Because you I wish I had a better, I wish it was a better story.
- 7:20SPEAKER_10: You went to turn around.
- 7:22SPEAKER_10: I yeah, I was literally we were talking, and I just turned around to like look around or something, and I I tripped over your back, and I was like, and then I was like, oh, I'm going down.
- 7:30SPEAKER_07: Bam! You went down.
- 7:33SPEAKER_07: I mean, like face almost face first.
- 7:35SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 7:36SPEAKER_07: You caught yourself with your hands, I think.
- 7:37SPEAKER_10: Well, my knee, well, my knee hit first, and then I caught myself with my arms.
- 7:41SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 7:41SPEAKER_10: But then you just stayed there.
- 7:43SPEAKER_10: Well, I always do that because that's like damage assessment, right?
- 7:46SPEAKER_10: It's like, okay, I'm still alive.
- 7:49SPEAKER_10: Okay, I don't feel anything broken.
- 7:51SPEAKER_10: I don't think anything's bleeding.
- 7:54SPEAKER_07: Well, I think there was a guy on this phone next to us calling someone.
- 7:58SPEAKER_07: Like calling James.
- 7:59SPEAKER_07: Oh, really?
- 8:00SPEAKER_07: Yeah, because it we have a someone went down.
- 8:02SPEAKER_07: Someone went down.
- 8:03SPEAKER_07: And I looked at him and I said, It's okay.
- 8:05SPEAKER_07: He just tripped over my suitcase.
- 8:06SPEAKER_07: There's no it's not a medical emergency.
- 8:08SPEAKER_07: It's like, he's okay.
- 8:10SPEAKER_07: Oh, yeah, he's okay.
- 8:10SPEAKER_10: Oh, okay.
- 8:11SPEAKER_10: I didn't know that part.
- 8:12SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah.
- 8:14SPEAKER_10: I just remember Jared coming up, are you okay?
- 8:17SPEAKER_07: I'm waving him off.
- 8:18SPEAKER_07: I'm like, he's okay.
- 8:18SPEAKER_07: And then you started getting up.
- 8:20SPEAKER_07: It's like, yeah, okay, he's okay.
- 8:21SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 8:22SPEAKER_10: I was just like, because I was I was just didn't expect it to be there.
- 8:26SPEAKER_10: Right.
- 8:26SPEAKER_07: So I just it was it I'm not gonna lie, it scared me for a second.
- 8:33SPEAKER_07: Scared you.
- 8:34SPEAKER_07: You went down.
- 8:35SPEAKER_07: You went down and you just laid there, and I was like, oh no, he's dead.
- 8:39SPEAKER_10: No, every time I fall now, that's what I do.
- 8:42SPEAKER_10: You just I just I just wait.
- 8:43SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 8:44SPEAKER_10: I'm like, hmm.
- 8:45SPEAKER_10: Do you fall often?
- 8:46SPEAKER_10: Not often, but when I do, I'm like, I I can't.
- 8:49SPEAKER_10: I'm not gonna, you know, I can't.
- 8:50SPEAKER_10: Number one, I'm not gonna pop up right away.
- 8:53SPEAKER_07: Right, right, right.
- 8:54SPEAKER_10: I'm not, I mean I could pop up 30 years ago, yeah, maybe, but not not anymore.
- 8:58SPEAKER_10: Right.
- 8:59SPEAKER_10: That's just not realistic.
- 9:00SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 9:00SPEAKER_10: And number two, I'm just like, it's kind of comfy down here.
- 9:06SPEAKER_10: Well, I mean, it we were on grass.
- 9:08SPEAKER_10: Yeah, yeah.
- 9:09SPEAKER_10: Kind of soft, it wasn't cold.
- 9:11SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 9:12SPEAKER_10: I was like, hmm, this is this isn't bad.
- 9:14SPEAKER_07: And it's no note to self, don't leave your own.
- 9:18SPEAKER_10: Can everybody come down to my level and uh we'll have a con vault?
- 9:21SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 9:22SPEAKER_09: Huh?
- 9:23SPEAKER_09: No?
- 9:23SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 9:23SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 9:24SPEAKER_09: Bye-bye.
- 9:25SPEAKER_07: But uh um it was just funny, man.
- 9:28SPEAKER_10: It was I was surprised because I'm on blood thinners.
- 9:31SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 9:31SPEAKER_10: So anytime I take a fall like that, I bruise like a fricking old man.
- 9:35SPEAKER_07: So you didn't have any bruise?
- 9:36SPEAKER_10: And actually, I did not bruise.
- 9:37SPEAKER_10: I mean, it was sore for like two, three days.
- 9:40SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 9:40SPEAKER_10: But no bruising, which really surprised me.
- 9:43SPEAKER_10: So good.
- 9:44SPEAKER_07: So it all worked out.
- 9:45SPEAKER_07: And then as we were leaving, um, so I had said, I think I might get some food, uh, a food truck.
- 9:53SPEAKER_07: Yeah, whatever.
- 9:54SPEAKER_07: So I put my stuff in my car, and then you guys went down to your vehicle.
- 9:57SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 9:58SPEAKER_07: I went and looked at the food truck and I didn't I didn't get anything.
- 10:00SPEAKER_07: I I ended up getting a um thing of uh uh the corn from Dusty's uh kettle corn.
- 10:08SPEAKER_07: Uh and then I walked down, I'm like, where did where'd they go?
- 10:12SPEAKER_07: I got in my car because I didn't know where you were parked.
- 10:15SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 10:16SPEAKER_07: I drove through the parking lot looking for you guys.
- 10:21SPEAKER_07: Couldn't find you.
- 10:22SPEAKER_07: And then I pulled up, you remember where the sheriffs were sitting?
- 10:25SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 10:26SPEAKER_07: So I pulled up near there, I pulled over, I called you several times.
- 10:31SPEAKER_07: You didn't answer.
- 10:31SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I did.
- 10:32SPEAKER_10: Well, my phone's always on silence, right?
- 10:34SPEAKER_07: I never and so I called Bob and he answers.
- 10:38SPEAKER_07: He's like, hey, and I could hear him out the window, so I rolled my window down.
- 10:42SPEAKER_07: He's like, Where are you?
- 10:44SPEAKER_07: I stuck my head on him.
- 10:45SPEAKER_07: I'm like, I'm right here.
- 10:48SPEAKER_10: Was he was he walking back up?
- 10:50SPEAKER_10: Walking back up, yeah.
- 10:51SPEAKER_10: Yeah, they they helped me bring my stuff down to the truck.
- 10:53SPEAKER_10: Yeah, I figured that's the thing.
- 10:54SPEAKER_10: And we talked for a few minutes more minutes and then they went.
- 10:56SPEAKER_07: Well, the funny thing is, is I said, I I I don't know, man, what's gonna happen now?
- 11:00SPEAKER_07: He's like, Why?
- 11:01SPEAKER_07: He says, I said, Doug and I didn't need to get to do our handshake.
- 11:06SPEAKER_07: It's gonna be like somebody's gonna die, or it's gonna be a sickness.
- 11:10SPEAKER_07: Something's gonna happen.
- 11:11SPEAKER_07: Something's gonna happen.
- 11:11SPEAKER_07: We didn't do our handshake.
- 11:12SPEAKER_07: What happened?
- 11:13SPEAKER_07: What was going on?
- 11:14SPEAKER_07: This is not normal.
- 11:16SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 11:16SPEAKER_07: So anyway, it was uh but it was good to see Bob and Jared and Jake.
- 11:21SPEAKER_07: Um nice for them to stop by because they were up for kind of not a good reason.
- 11:26SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 11:26SPEAKER_07: Um, but uh everything is okay right there, right now, with their with what's going on with them.
- 11:32SPEAKER_07: And uh but it was very surprising that they actually left that and came to see us.
- 11:37SPEAKER_07: Well, I think they needed a break.
- 11:38SPEAKER_07: I think you're probably right.
- 11:39SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 11:40SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 11:40SPEAKER_07: And I think it was a nice distraction.
- 11:41SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 11:42SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 11:42SPEAKER_07: Uh it was good to see them.
- 11:43SPEAKER_07: All right.
- 11:44SPEAKER_07: So let's uh do we have anything else we need to talk about?
- 11:47SPEAKER_07: Um let's see.
- 11:49SPEAKER_07: Nope.
- 11:49SPEAKER_07: Nope.
- 11:49SPEAKER_07: I think that's a recap, right?
- 11:52SPEAKER_07: That's all we had going on last week.
- 11:53SPEAKER_07: Pretty much it.
- 11:53SPEAKER_10: We're playing this weekend, though.
- 11:55SPEAKER_07: We are.
- 11:55SPEAKER_10: In the Ashland.
- 11:56SPEAKER_10: We don't know where.
- 11:57SPEAKER_10: No idea where.
- 11:58SPEAKER_10: Um or for what.
- 12:00SPEAKER_10: What was it for in New York?
- 12:01SPEAKER_10: Is Ashland Fest Day something?
- 12:05SPEAKER_10: Celebrate.
- 12:06SPEAKER_07: Celebrate.
- 12:07SPEAKER_07: The answer is no.
- 12:08SPEAKER_07: I don't know.
- 12:09SPEAKER_07: I don't know what it's for.
- 12:10SPEAKER_10: I don't know either.
- 12:11SPEAKER_07: Um, but we're playing four hours.
- 12:14SPEAKER_07: Yeah, we're gonna take a lot of breaks.
- 12:15SPEAKER_07: That'd be great.
- 12:16SPEAKER_10: We're gonna take a lot of breaks.
- 12:18SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 12:18SPEAKER_07: Um I foresee this.
- 12:21SPEAKER_07: We have to talk about uh a couple of albums.
- 12:24SPEAKER_07: I do have some new music to listen to today.
- 12:27SPEAKER_07: Do you want me to bring up anything from those albums that we were that we were listening to that we talked about?
- 12:33SPEAKER_07: Like what?
- 12:34SPEAKER_07: I don't know, like um like a song?
- 12:36SPEAKER_07: Yeah, something anything?
- 12:38SPEAKER_10: I mean you can.
- 12:39SPEAKER_10: Um like the new anthrax.
- 12:41SPEAKER_10: Okay, do you have a particular Well, I would say bring up the uh title track, which is um it's that Latin word, I can't remember what it is.
- 12:53SPEAKER_07: Uh I know what I know what your Percy Time?
- 12:59SPEAKER_07: No, no.
- 13:01SPEAKER_07: Parasite?
- 13:02SPEAKER_07: No, no.
- 13:12SPEAKER_07: The Edge of Perfection.
- 13:14SPEAKER_10: That's one of the songs.
- 13:15SPEAKER_10: It's for the kids.
- 13:16SPEAKER_10: That's all the songs.
- 13:19SPEAKER_07: Oh, Curse and Perficio.
- 13:21SPEAKER_10: Curse and Professor, yes.
- 13:22SPEAKER_07: Okay, so you want to Oh, that's the full album.
- 13:27SPEAKER_10: Title Track.
- 13:27SPEAKER_10: Tradle Track.
- 13:28SPEAKER_07: There it is, right there.
- 13:29SPEAKER_07: Yeah, okay, I got it.
- 13:30SPEAKER_07: Alright, uh, and what was the other one?
- 13:31SPEAKER_10: You'd listen to uh I listened to the new striper, uh Throne of Thorns.
- 13:36SPEAKER_10: Uh you want the second the second song on the album.
- 13:40SPEAKER_10: I can't think of the name of it.
- 13:41SPEAKER_10: But it sounds so black sabbathy.
- 13:45SPEAKER_07: Uh let's see.
- 13:51SPEAKER_07: They only have throne of thorns.
- 13:55SPEAKER_07: I think that's all that they're really from it.
- 13:58SPEAKER_07: Um wait.
- 14:05SPEAKER_10: I think I can look at the Is it ashes to roses?
- 14:16SPEAKER_07: Okay, so what we'll do is we'll sample uh a couple of these uh tunes because Doug listened to all three.
- 14:23SPEAKER_07: I only listened to one.
- 14:24SPEAKER_07: I did only listen to one.
- 14:26SPEAKER_10: I was like going to work and I was like I listened to like anthrax up and down.
- 14:31SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 14:32SPEAKER_10: And then the next day I I I was able to listen to the striper album on the way to work.
- 14:37SPEAKER_10: And I listened to the album, the Europe album, on the way home from work the same day.
- 14:42SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 14:42SPEAKER_10: So I got a lot listen.
- 14:44SPEAKER_10: Okay.
- 14:45SPEAKER_07: I'll be interested in what you what you think of Europe.
- 14:47SPEAKER_10: Here in your heart.
- 14:48SPEAKER_07: That's the one.
- 14:48SPEAKER_07: Oh, right here.
- 14:49SPEAKER_07: Here in your heart.
- 14:50SPEAKER_07: Um all right.
- 14:51SPEAKER_07: So what do you want to start with?
- 14:52SPEAKER_10: Uh we'll start with the anthrax.
- 14:54SPEAKER_07: Alright.
- 14:54SPEAKER_07: So let's uh we'll just kind of put this on, play it for a second, and then I'll turn it down and you can tell me what you what you think of the album.
- 15:02SPEAKER_07: So this is Cursum Perficio.
- 15:39SPEAKER_10: I know! What is going on, man?
- 15:53SPEAKER_07: Is it the per is it the production?
- 15:55SPEAKER_10: Is it production, is technology?
- 15:58SPEAKER_10: And you know, of course you're just gonna get better right on your instrument, you know, so does it sound like anthrax?
- 16:26SPEAKER_10: Yes and no.
- 16:28SPEAKER_10: I was gonna say, because I mean I it's more like it's more like what Metallica's been doing.
- 16:38SPEAKER_10: You know, like these heavy rifts interspersed with like more thrashy, you know, elements, you know.
- 16:46SPEAKER_10: But I mean that but this is not your typical anthropomorphic.
- 16:49SPEAKER_10: No, no, no.
- 16:52SPEAKER_10: But I think they've matured a lot, you know.
- 16:54SPEAKER_10: I mean, as the year it seems darker.
- 16:57SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 16:58SPEAKER_07: Like uh, because I'm used to like like I'm the man.
- 17:01SPEAKER_07: I'm the man, yeah.
- 17:02SPEAKER_10: Yeah, starting up a posse, that kind of thing.
- 17:04SPEAKER_10: Which was all great.
- 17:05SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 17:07SPEAKER_10: But they've come a long way since then.
- 17:09SPEAKER_10: And this album is like Yeah, so tell me about the album.
- 17:12SPEAKER_10: I mean, is it the album's really, really good.
- 17:14SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 17:14SPEAKER_10: And the fact that they're all like early 60s, yeah, and they're still playing like this.
- 17:20SPEAKER_10: And poor Charlie.
- 17:21SPEAKER_10: I mean, he had both wrist carpal tunnel surgery to.
- 17:26SPEAKER_10: Did he really?
- 17:26SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 17:27SPEAKER_07: Oh, I didn't know that.
- 17:27SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 17:28SPEAKER_10: Apparently last week he they hit they had to keep replacing him because for some reason they wouldn't say why.
- 17:34SPEAKER_10: Uh they had to keep replacing him with other drummers.
- 17:36SPEAKER_07: Really?
- 17:37SPEAKER_10: Yeah, so well.
- 17:39SPEAKER_07: But this is him on the album.
- 17:41SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 17:41SPEAKER_10: Oh, yeah, absolutely, yeah.
- 17:50SPEAKER_10: I mean, the whole album's really great.
- 17:52SPEAKER_10: This sounds like uh maiden or yeah, yeah.
- 17:57SPEAKER_10: Right.
- 17:58SPEAKER_10: Like the vote with uh Joey's vocals.
- 18:01SPEAKER_10: He's very like Dickinson-like.
- 18:03SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 18:04SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 18:10SPEAKER_10: I dig it.
- 18:10SPEAKER_10: I dig it.
- 18:11SPEAKER_10: Yeah, it's really the whole album is really, really good.
- 18:14SPEAKER_10: Uh that's the title track, right?
- 18:15SPEAKER_10: Yes.
- 18:16SPEAKER_10: Uh there was another song on there called uh NYC in 93, I think.
- 18:21SPEAKER_10: Was which was more like what we're used to?
- 18:24SPEAKER_10: Yeah, which is more like what you were, you know, when you think of anthrax, that's what you think of.
- 18:30SPEAKER_07: Uh let me just see if I can I think that's the name of it.
- 18:33SPEAKER_07: NYC 93?
- 18:34SPEAKER_10: Yeah, that's it.
- 18:35SPEAKER_10: Uh let's just take a yeah, it starts off with this like this is what you more think of.
- 18:52SPEAKER_07: That's what I think of, yeah.
- 18:57SPEAKER_07: This is on the same album?
- 18:58SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 19:11unknown: Yeah.
- 19:11SPEAKER_10: This is what you this that's more like this is what you're when you think of anthrax, this is more like what you think of.
- 19:22SPEAKER_07: All right, in the interest of time, we're gonna switch gears.
- 19:25SPEAKER_07: And the other one that you listened to.
- 19:27SPEAKER_07: Well, yeah.
- 19:28SPEAKER_07: That uh well, one of the other ones that you listened to was Striper.
- 19:32SPEAKER_10: New Stryper, yep.
- 19:33SPEAKER_07: And we've been saying all along that Striper just gets better and better.
- 19:37SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I mean as they get old.
- 19:38SPEAKER_10: I mean, just it's amazing.
- 19:39SPEAKER_07: Uh Throne of Thorns is the new album, and this is uh I get I believe cut number I think it's the second uh the second track on the album.
- 19:48SPEAKER_10: Second or third?
- 19:49SPEAKER_10: Second, I think.
- 19:50SPEAKER_10: Here in my heart is the other one.
- 19:52SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 19:58SPEAKER_07: See, now that's the signature Michael Sweet guitar stop.
- 22:01SPEAKER_07: I don't know, but I dig it.
- 22:02SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 22:03SPEAKER_07: Whatever it is.
- 22:03SPEAKER_10: The whole album is so great, man.
- 22:05SPEAKER_10: Like every one of these albums, The Anthrax, The Striper, The Europe, I did not skip a single track.
- 22:10SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 22:11SPEAKER_10: Because they were all all the songs were freaking bangers.
- 22:15SPEAKER_07: Now, Europe is the the only one that I listened to.
- 22:17SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 22:18SPEAKER_07: Uh, and I really liked it.
- 22:20SPEAKER_07: I did too.
- 22:21SPEAKER_07: There's a lot, I mean, it's it's a it's a far cry from the final countdown.
- 22:25SPEAKER_10: Oh, yeah, it's not even the same.
- 22:27SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 22:27SPEAKER_10: You wouldn't you wouldn't even know it was the same band.
- 22:29SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 22:29SPEAKER_07: This is the title track.
- 22:35SPEAKER_07: It's called Come This Madness.
- 22:40SPEAKER_07: This is a this is a um statement on society today.
- 22:45SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 22:56SPEAKER_07: Probably.
- 23:40SPEAKER_07: And again, these guys are all in their sixties, too.
- 23:42SPEAKER_07: Oh yeah.
- 23:43SPEAKER_07: I mean, it's same with same with Striper.
- 23:46SPEAKER_07: They're all rock and roll keeps you young, I guess.
- 23:52SPEAKER_07: Yeah, do you have a did you have a favorite track from the Not necessarily, but the last two.
- 23:58SPEAKER_10: I the last two tracks on the album I found particularly awesome.
- 24:05SPEAKER_07: Okay, let's see.
- 24:06SPEAKER_10: I don't know if you if you have a track listing there.
- 24:09SPEAKER_07: I think I do.
- 24:10SPEAKER_07: Nothing can follow this.
- 24:11SPEAKER_07: The Devil's Back?
- 24:12SPEAKER_10: It was the very last two alb uh tracks on the album.
- 24:15SPEAKER_07: Well, The Devil's Back, I think is track.
- 24:16SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 24:17SPEAKER_07: Next one.
- 24:19SPEAKER_10: That's it.
- 24:20SPEAKER_10: Yeah, that's one of them.
- 24:21SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 24:34SPEAKER_07: You know what?
- 24:35SPEAKER_07: Uh wait.
- 24:38SPEAKER_07: Let's go right.
- 25:05SPEAKER_07: I put on uh Spotify and I just I said play play Europe and it there's this playlist called This Is Europe.
- 25:11SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 25:12SPEAKER_07: And so it plays like everything from the final countdown and carry to this album.
- 25:17SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 25:18SPEAKER_07: They got some great stuff that you never never even heard.
- 25:22SPEAKER_07: Yep.
- 25:22SPEAKER_07: You know?
- 25:47SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah.
- 25:47SPEAKER_07: It's just it was it was I was really happy with it.
- 25:49SPEAKER_07: I thought it came out amazing.
- 25:51SPEAKER_10: Yeah, it was a great, great album.
- 25:53SPEAKER_07: And uh they're touring behind it now, and it's uh sold out so far.
- 25:57SPEAKER_07: I believe it.
- 25:57SPEAKER_07: I believe it, man.
- 25:59SPEAKER_07: I believe it.
- 25:59SPEAKER_07: Good to have them back for sure.
- 26:02SPEAKER_07: Uh not that they ever went away, but I don't think we just heard about them for quite a while.
- 26:05SPEAKER_10: Well, I mean, they kind of took a back seat too.
- 26:07SPEAKER_10: Well, like like all these hard rock guys, they took a back seat too.
- 26:11SPEAKER_07: When grunge came in.
- 26:12SPEAKER_10: Well, not necessarily with grunge, but like even recently.
- 26:15SPEAKER_10: It's like grunge started it and then they just kind of got like you know, the the re you know, the quote unquote redheaded stepchild.
- 26:24SPEAKER_07: I mean, it's kind of like and hopefully this is an indication that rock is back, you know.
- 26:30SPEAKER_07: It never went away, it's just harder to find now.
- 26:32SPEAKER_10: Yeah, because you got you know, you got hip hop, you've got bro country, you got all this, you know.
- 26:41SPEAKER_10: You know, you got your typical pop.
- 26:43SPEAKER_07: The thing is, is if if if you you won't know about this type of stuff, like Europe, okay?
- 26:49SPEAKER_07: Europe is not gonna get played on rock radio.
- 26:51SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 26:52SPEAKER_07: This album.
- 26:52SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 26:53SPEAKER_07: But if you're a fan of Europe and you're following them somewhere on social media or on Spotify or whatever, you're gonna hear about it.
- 27:00SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 27:00SPEAKER_07: So you have to be f kind of following the band that you're interested in, exactly to keep it.
- 27:05SPEAKER_10: Otherwise you're not gonna hear about it.
- 27:06SPEAKER_07: Exactly.
- 27:07SPEAKER_10: You know, it's not like you know, there's no more headbanger ball.
- 27:10SPEAKER_10: There's no, you know.
- 27:11SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 27:12SPEAKER_10: Right, exactly.
- 27:13SPEAKER_10: You know, there's no rock and roll request show.
- 27:15SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 27:16SPEAKER_10: You know, I mean, just you're just not gonna handle it.
- 27:18SPEAKER_07: You mean the the Chris O'Brien all request?
- 27:19SPEAKER_10: Rock and roll radio show?
- 27:22SPEAKER_10: Whoever has to make that happen again.
- 27:24SPEAKER_10: Right, come on now.
- 27:25SPEAKER_10: Get on it.
- 27:26SPEAKER_07: Um all right, so other news Kelly Hanson, the um lead singer for Foreigner for twenty years.
- 27:34SPEAKER_07: Thank you.
- 27:35SPEAKER_07: I remember why I know that name.
- 27:37SPEAKER_07: He he he for he was there for twenty years, and and last year he announced that he was um leaving the band to spend more time with family.
- 27:46SPEAKER_07: They got another singer, a younger singer, which is great.
- 27:49SPEAKER_07: Um the old there's no original members left in Foreigner.
- 27:53SPEAKER_07: Uh Mick Jones is still technically there, but he doesn't play with the band anymore.
- 27:56SPEAKER_10: Yeah, I was supposed to say he's just kind of there.
- 27:57SPEAKER_07: He just calls the shots, yeah, and and yeah.
- 28:00SPEAKER_07: Um which is, you know, whatever.
- 28:03SPEAKER_10: He had health issues and stuff like that.
- 28:05SPEAKER_07: So Kelly Hansen left Foreigner last year saying he was gonna go spend time with his family.
- 28:08SPEAKER_07: Well, apparently his family is the Dead Daisies because he's joined the Dead Daisy.
- 28:13SPEAKER_07: He's now their lead singer.
- 28:14SPEAKER_07: You're my family now.
- 28:16SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 28:16SPEAKER_07: Um So if you don't know, the Dead Daisies have a a a just uh what do you call it?
- 28:23SPEAKER_07: Uh revolving door of of members.
- 28:27SPEAKER_10: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 28:28SPEAKER_10: Um it's just kind of like they're they're kind of like the uh you know just whoever wants to be in the band.
- 28:37SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 28:37SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 28:38SPEAKER_10: There you go, you're in the band.
- 28:39SPEAKER_10: You know what I mean?
- 28:40SPEAKER_10: Well they had um they had John uh Korabe.
- 28:44SPEAKER_10: John Korami.
- 28:45SPEAKER_10: Yeah, and you know, just wasn't Doug uh Doug Aldridge playing with them?
- 28:49SPEAKER_10: He still does.
- 29:45SPEAKER_07: Glenn Hughes.
- 29:46SPEAKER_07: Glen Hughes, thank you.
- 29:48SPEAKER_07: Now I know that Glen Hughes had some health issues um uh late in the uh like the recording of the album or something, and they so he had to leave.
- 29:58SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 29:58SPEAKER_07: And so Kelly Hansen apparently stepped in and they have a new single.
- 30:02SPEAKER_07: Oh, cool.
- 30:03SPEAKER_07: Uh I like Dead Daisies.
- 30:04SPEAKER_07: I do too.
- 30:05SPEAKER_07: So we're gonna listen to uh one called Lift Me Up.
- 30:08SPEAKER_07: This is brand new Dead Daisies.
- 30:32SPEAKER_05: Laughing idea, promise to nothing, make the moment clear.
- 30:40SPEAKER_05: Once been in a room, two shaking hands, we already know!
- 30:47SPEAKER_07: Alright, I'm gonna stop it just for a second because a couple of things that I like about this.
- 30:51SPEAKER_07: Before Foreigner, Kelly Hanson was the lead singer of a band called Hurricane.
- 30:55SPEAKER_07: Oh yeah.
- 30:56SPEAKER_07: Which was a heavier band.
- 30:57SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 30:57SPEAKER_07: This is a grittier, heavier band than Foreigner.
- 31:00SPEAKER_07: Oh yeah.
- 31:01SPEAKER_07: Right?
- 31:01SPEAKER_07: And you know, when he was in Foreigner, he's I mean, Kelly Hanson's a great vocalist, period.
- 31:08SPEAKER_07: Uh it almost seems like at times he was, and maybe felt like he needed to do a Lou Graham impression.
- 31:17SPEAKER_10: You know what I mean?
- 31:18SPEAKER_10: I think I think you have to be a kind of a chameleon when you join somebody else's band.
- 31:22SPEAKER_10: Right.
- 31:23SPEAKER_07: But when he and obviously when he sang the hits from Foreigner, he tried to emulate Lou Graham to a certain extent.
- 31:30SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I get that.
- 31:31SPEAKER_07: This one he sounds like Kelly Hansen.
- 31:32SPEAKER_04: Oh this was never the plan.
- 31:36SPEAKER_04: Let me a piece.
- 31:46SPEAKER_10: Bring me down being well yeah, you could he can be he can be himself in this band because right it's really other than being a rock and roll band, it doesn't have a signature.
- 32:15SPEAKER_07: I didn't uh know this.
- 32:18SPEAKER_07: Um Doug Aldrich was the guitarist in Hurricane.
- 32:23SPEAKER_09: Oh, I didn't know that.
- 32:24SPEAKER_07: I didn't know that either.
- 32:25SPEAKER_07: Wow.
- 32:25SPEAKER_07: He said it's it's gonna be amazing to be on stage with Kelly again after all these years.
- 32:29SPEAKER_07: His vocal range is exceptional, and he's a badass frontman.
- 32:32SPEAKER_07: Can't wait to get out there and see you all in 2027.
- 32:35SPEAKER_07: So they are working on a full album right now.
- 32:37SPEAKER_07: Nice.
- 32:38SPEAKER_07: I like this.
- 32:39SPEAKER_10: I do too.
- 32:40SPEAKER_10: If if that if this song's any indication, that album's gonna be awesome.
- 32:43unknown: Song!
- 32:46SPEAKER_10: He's got such a great voice.
- 32:48SPEAKER_10: Oh yeah.
- 32:50SPEAKER_10: One of the great underrated front men.
- 32:54SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 32:56SPEAKER_07: You know you couldn't stay away from from rock and roll too for that long.
- 33:00SPEAKER_07: Come on.
- 33:01SPEAKER_07: Um speaking of great voices, um, the new song um or the new album from Slash.
- 33:10SPEAKER_07: Oh, yeah.
- 33:10SPEAKER_07: And his and the conspirators, which has Miles Kennedy.
- 33:14SPEAKER_10: Yeah, I love Miles Kennedy.
- 33:15SPEAKER_07: Um they have a new album called Flying Blind, which is coming out in February.
- 33:19SPEAKER_07: February 26th, and there's a new song from them, which is the title cut.
- 33:24SPEAKER_10: So this is gonna be a weird freaking video.
- 33:28SPEAKER_07: Actually, I think it's just a oh, is it just that?
- 33:30SPEAKER_10: Yeah, okay.
- 33:31SPEAKER_10: Well, usually with slash stuff, it's like yeah, weird imagery.
- 33:47SPEAKER_11: You drift away as you beg and borrow.
- 33:52SPEAKER_11: You cannot face what you left behind.
- 33:56SPEAKER_11: And if the veil ever doesn't sound like Miles Kennedy.
- 34:00SPEAKER_10: Not it does, but it doesn't.
- 34:05SPEAKER_11: You will see your but it is now it's a good thing.
- 34:32SPEAKER_07: Yeah, one of the best things I'm rocking about right now.
- 35:06SPEAKER_10: Alright, I gotta have that one.
- 35:08SPEAKER_10: Man.
- 35:08SPEAKER_10: Man.
- 35:09SPEAKER_10: Okay, this may be an unpopular opinion, but leaving Guns N' Roses is the best thing to ever happen to Slash.
- 35:15SPEAKER_10: Well, he's back with him.
- 35:16SPEAKER_07: Yeah, but You mean you mean creatively.
- 35:19SPEAKER_07: Creatively.
- 35:20SPEAKER_07: Oh, yeah, I agree.
- 35:20SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I agree.
- 35:21SPEAKER_10: I mean, even if he had stayed in Guns N' Roses and never done anything on his own, yeah.
- 35:26SPEAKER_10: That would have been a crying shame.
- 35:27SPEAKER_07: I think that's true.
- 35:28SPEAKER_10: Because his this stuff has been amazing.
- 35:30SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I agree.
- 35:31SPEAKER_07: So all the conspirators albums that he's put out uh ha have been amazing.
- 35:35SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 35:36SPEAKER_07: Some of his other stuff.
- 35:37SPEAKER_07: The blues album that he put out a couple years ago, yeah.
- 35:39SPEAKER_07: It was really good.
- 35:40SPEAKER_07: Yep.
- 35:41SPEAKER_07: Um so yeah, good stuff.
- 35:43SPEAKER_07: Lots lots of great new rock and roll out there that I'm excited about.
- 35:48SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah, it's good stuff.
- 35:50SPEAKER_07: Um I do have a list.
- 35:52SPEAKER_07: I don't know if we have time.
- 35:52SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I think we have time.
- 35:54SPEAKER_07: Uh we can just kind of scan this because I think it's of our uh best interest.
- 35:57SPEAKER_10: Oh, I saw this! Did you?
- 35:58SPEAKER_10: Did you read it?
- 35:59SPEAKER_10: I didn't read it, but I saw the title.
- 36:00SPEAKER_10: Um I thought I was like, this is gonna be perfect for the podcast, and then I forgot about it.
- 36:04SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah.
- 36:05SPEAKER_07: So uh obviously our band, Star City Syndicate, um, is a horn-driven band.
- 36:11SPEAKER_10: Oh yeah.

- 36:24SPEAKER_07: And we play quite a few of them.
- 36:26SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I looked at them.
- 36:27SPEAKER_07: Uh and there's some that I don't think we could get away with.
- 36:30SPEAKER_07: There are a couple that we probably could get away with.
- 36:33SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 36:33SPEAKER_07: Um because we've been told to play more Motown.

- 37:17SPEAKER_07: Oh, yeah, you'd love it.
- 37:24SPEAKER_10: If we do this, you're singing it.
- 37:25SPEAKER_10: Really?
- 37:26SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 37:29SPEAKER_07: Why would you say that?
- 37:30SPEAKER_07: I think Anthony could hit those notes better than I think.
- 37:32SPEAKER_03: Well, he could, but some people wanna do the word with silly love songs.
- 37:38SPEAKER_10: You're a huge Sir Paul fan.
- 37:39SPEAKER_10: This is true.
- 37:40SPEAKER_10: You have to do it.
- 37:42SPEAKER_10: That's all I'm saying.
- 37:43SPEAKER_10: Okay, Doug said so.

- 38:39SPEAKER_10: I mean It's a great song.
- 38:40SPEAKER_07: We could, but it'd be it would be uh it would be hard.

- 39:02SPEAKER_05: I wasn't alone and I didn't know.
- 39:04SPEAKER_07: I think we tried to do the Earth, Wind, and Fire version at one point.
- 39:06SPEAKER_07: Oh no, I think Anthony did an arrangement that was a combination of it.
- 39:14SPEAKER_07: But I'd like to do this version.
- 39:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 39:27SPEAKER_07: And then Doug said that Brian needs to sing that one too.
- 39:30SPEAKER_07: So Leonard Skinner, what's your name?
- 39:34SPEAKER_07: Did you uh Doug?
- 39:36SPEAKER_07: I forgot.

- 40:02SPEAKER_07: I really think it's more today than yesterday by Spiral Skin.
- 40:06SPEAKER_10: Yeah, yeah, that would be great.
- 40:08SPEAKER_10: I love this song.
- 40:10SPEAKER_07: I wouldn't mind singing this.
- 40:11SPEAKER_07: It'd be pretty high for me.
- 40:12SPEAKER_07: We'd probably have to have Melissa sing it, but uh, she can do it.
- 40:23SPEAKER_13: I didn't notice what time it was.
- 40:28SPEAKER_07: Because it goes really high.
- 40:29SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 40:31SPEAKER_07: But I love it.
- 40:32SPEAKER_07: It's so catchy.
- 40:33SPEAKER_07: Great song.
- 40:35SPEAKER_13: And if all my dreams come true, I'm gonna be spending time with you.
- 40:42SPEAKER_07: If today's a new day, and that horn line is so syndicate.
- 40:50SPEAKER_07: I mean, I mean, absolutely.
- 40:51SPEAKER_07: It was like a written force.
- 41:21SPEAKER_07: One hit wonder, Spiral Stirk.
- 41:23SPEAKER_09: That's that's too bad.
- 41:24SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 41:25SPEAKER_07: Um Spirit, Mr.

- 41:30SPEAKER_09: Oh, I don't think we could get away with this either, but oh man, I would love to do this stuff, man.
- 41:37SPEAKER_07: Me too.
- 41:43SPEAKER_07: All right, listen to those horns.
- 41:54SPEAKER_10: This was that that special time before cousin Bono became a douche.
- 42:02SPEAKER_07: This was right after Joshua Tree, right?
- 42:04SPEAKER_07: Rattle and Hum was right after.
- 42:05SPEAKER_10: Yeah, it was right, it was right in that it was in that sweet spot.
- 42:08SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 42:08SPEAKER_10: When you're like, oh, they were getting really good.
- 42:11SPEAKER_10: And then and then, you know, cousin Bono and douchebag.
- 42:15SPEAKER_10: And then you're like, oh man.
- 42:18SPEAKER_07: You say cousin Bono because um not many people know that he is Doug's cousin.
- 42:22SPEAKER_10: Yeah, this is like 157,000 times removed, but he he is in the family tree.
- 42:30SPEAKER_07: Yeah, that was a great album, Radlin Hum.
- 42:32SPEAKER_07: Uh Fleetwood Mac Tusk.
- 42:34SPEAKER_07: I think we actually kind of joke joked about doing this too.
- 42:37SPEAKER_07: It would be fun though.
- 42:38SPEAKER_07: Wouldn't it?
- 42:39SPEAKER_07: It would be so much fun.
- 42:43SPEAKER_10: I mean, that drum, just doing that drum, man.
- 42:46SPEAKER_10: I mean, people would go nuts too.
- 42:48SPEAKER_07: And the bass line is amazing.
- 42:49SPEAKER_07: Simon would love that.
- 42:51SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 42:58SPEAKER_07: People will think, are they playing Pink Floyd?
- 43:17SPEAKER_10: Tell me you're white without telling me you're white.
- 43:41SPEAKER_07: Now, the horns aren't as prevalent.
- 43:45SPEAKER_07: They're prevalent at the end of the song, but it's the 1997.
- 43:48SPEAKER_07: Well, yeah, when the USC USC band marching band comes out, that would be uh amazing.
- 43:54SPEAKER_07: Anyway, I think that'd be that would be a fun one to do.
- 43:56SPEAKER_07: Golden Earring Radar Love.
- 43:58SPEAKER_07: Dude, that would be sick.
- 44:00SPEAKER_07: Did you forget that there were horns in that?
- 44:01SPEAKER_07: I did.
- 44:01SPEAKER_07: Yeah, there are.
- 44:02SPEAKER_07: I did forget.
- 44:07SPEAKER_07: I think it's in the chorus.
- 44:12SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 44:16SPEAKER_04: Rid I love.
- 44:21SPEAKER_07: That would be fun too.
- 44:22SPEAKER_07: We do this one.
- 44:23SPEAKER_07: We haven't played it live yet.
- 44:25SPEAKER_07: Oh yeah.
- 44:26SPEAKER_07: We need to play that live.
- 44:27SPEAKER_07: Average white man! I think this would be a great show opener.
- 44:32SPEAKER_07: Yeah, absolutely.
- 44:33SPEAKER_07: Right?
- 44:34SPEAKER_07: Just to get everybody in the mood and it's gotta be in the settlers next year.
- 44:48SPEAKER_07: Sweet Caroline, Neil Diamond.

- 44:51SPEAKER_10: How's that go again?
- 44:54SPEAKER_07: We play that one very often.
- 44:56SPEAKER_07: Does anybody really know what time it is?
- 44:58SPEAKER_07: Chicago.
- 44:58SPEAKER_07: Well, we do that one too.
- 45:00SPEAKER_07: We do that one as well.

- 45:25SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah.
- 45:26SPEAKER_07: Let's Dance from David Bowie.
- 45:28SPEAKER_10: Well, I think we should just do it because that's Stevie Ray on the guitar and the video.
- 45:31SPEAKER_10: It is.
- 45:32SPEAKER_07: It is.
- 45:33SPEAKER_07: But it's a great song, man.
- 45:50SPEAKER_07: It is, it is.
- 45:51SPEAKER_07: I love how in the video they make it look like it's David Bowie playing guitar.
- 46:11SPEAKER_10: David Bowie witches he could play a guitar like that.
- 46:19SPEAKER_07: He's wearing gloves, dude.
- 46:20SPEAKER_10: Come on, man.

- 46:40SPEAKER_10: Of course, he did play a guitar with chains on it in the breaking the chains video.
- 46:45SPEAKER_10: Right.
- 46:45SPEAKER_10: So I mean, you have to suspend reality.

- 52:20SPEAKER_10: You are suddenly given the opportunity to trade wherever you live now for this hypothetical home.
- 52:28SPEAKER_10: And your mortgage will be whatever your current you currently pay.
- 52:33SPEAKER_10: The home will be in roughly the same location as your current residence.
- 52:39SPEAKER_10: However, there is one odd caveat.
- 52:43SPEAKER_10: This dream home is buried two miles underground.
- 52:49SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 52:50SPEAKER_10: When you look out the window, all you will see is dirt.
- 52:55SPEAKER_10: In order to enter the residence, you will have to take an elevator that travels down the two-mile shaft at high speed.
- 53:03SPEAKER_10: It's about a five-minute trip.
- 53:05SPEAKER_10: The elevator is comfortable, and there is a staff located above ground that provides 24-7 maintenance on the elevator.
- 53:14SPEAKER_10: If something breaks or goes wrong with the elevator, you will be rescued immediately.
- 53:19SPEAKER_10: Would you accept this underground dream home?
- 53:25SPEAKER_10: Uh two miles down?
- 53:27SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 53:28SPEAKER_10: How far down before it gets really hot?
- 53:30SPEAKER_10: Oh, you gotta wait.
- 53:32SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 53:32SPEAKER_10: Yeah, this'll this'll be comfortable.
- 53:36SPEAKER_07: And I could trade whatever I'm paying for this house.
- 53:39SPEAKER_10: Well, you'll be paying whatever you pay for this house.
- 53:44SPEAKER_07: So I just trade for whatever whatever house what the way I want the house to be.
- 53:49SPEAKER_10: Yeah, the house will be anything you want, but it's gonna be two miles underground.
- 53:52SPEAKER_07: Hell yeah, I'll do it.
- 53:53SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 53:53SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 53:54SPEAKER_07: I mean, right?
- 53:55SPEAKER_07: I mean why not?
- 53:56SPEAKER_07: Right?
- 53:57SPEAKER_10: Because I mean, it's not like you have to stay there.
- 53:59SPEAKER_10: I mean, you can come to the surface anytime you want.
- 54:02SPEAKER_10: It's a five-minute elevator ride.
- 54:03SPEAKER_07: Five minute elevator ride.
- 54:04SPEAKER_10: And there's people there 24-7.
- 54:06SPEAKER_07: Would there be anyway?
- 54:08SPEAKER_07: There's an earthquake.
- 54:09SPEAKER_10: I guess that would be the rare round.
- 54:13SPEAKER_10: I'm sure, I'm sure it's sure the house is built to withdraw.
- 54:22SPEAKER_10: You're surrounded by dirt.
- 54:23SPEAKER_07: You could do it because this is this is the way I want it to be.
- 54:26SPEAKER_07: Exactly.
- 54:26SPEAKER_07: Yeah, so if I get earthquake proof, I could research it so that it would be earthquake proof.
- 54:31SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 54:31SPEAKER_07: Hell yeah, I'd do that.
- 54:32SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 54:33SPEAKER_07: Get out of this hellhole.
- 54:37SPEAKER_07: At least the basement would be clean.
- 54:43SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 54:45SPEAKER_10: You ever had a dirt basement?
- 54:47SPEAKER_10: Yeah, there you go.
- 54:50SPEAKER_10: Now you got two miles of dirt basement.
- 54:53SPEAKER_10: Um That was a fun one.
- 54:56SPEAKER_10: Yeah, that was fun.
- 54:56SPEAKER_10: What do we do next?
- 54:57SPEAKER_10: Uh we can do mixtape.
- 54:59SPEAKER_07: Is that what you want to do?
- 55:00SPEAKER_07: Is that what we do?
- 55:01SPEAKER_07: We do.
- 55:01SPEAKER_10: Because we don't have the uh we can't think of a hoodis, so.
- 55:05SPEAKER_10: Yeah, so let's do mixtapes.
- 55:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 55:06SPEAKER_00: It's time for everyone's favorite part of the show.
- 55:10SPEAKER_00: With everyone's favorites, O'Brien, Doug, Cousin Larry, and yours truly, Miss Judge Ness.
- 55:18SPEAKER_00: It's time to play mixtape, mixtape.
- 55:24SPEAKER_07: So the question that we're answering was from last week, and it is favorite song from a movie soundtrack.
- 55:35SPEAKER_10: Alright, right, yeah.
- 55:36SPEAKER_10: I was trying to remember what it was.
- 55:38SPEAKER_07: Yep.
- 55:38SPEAKER_07: So, and she has a recording this time?
- 55:40SPEAKER_07: She does.
- 55:41SPEAKER_07: Alright.
- 55:41SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 55:42SPEAKER_07: So let's leave it up to Miss Judge.
- 55:44SPEAKER_09: Miss Judge Nip T.
- 55:49SPEAKER_00: Hey guys.
- 55:50SPEAKER_00: That was actually a really hard week for mixtape.
- 55:52SPEAKER_00: Um, I know it might be.
- 55:53SPEAKER_00: Each of you had your own personal reasons as to it being your favorite song from your favorite movie.
- 55:59SPEAKER_00: Um, but I had to go with Doug's pick this week.
- 56:02SPEAKER_00: I think it was Death and Freedom or Death or Freedom.
- 56:06SPEAKER_10: Um Red Dawn.
- 56:08SPEAKER_00: That one was really awesome.
- 56:10SPEAKER_00: And the when the drums come in, it definitely does induce goosebumps.
- 56:17SPEAKER_07: There you go.
- 56:18SPEAKER_07: Nice! Alright, fair enough.
- 56:21SPEAKER_07: Alright, so the question that we're answering this week, which I am just remembering now, and have not picked a song yet.
- 56:29SPEAKER_07: Uh but I think I had one last week.
- 56:31SPEAKER_07: So I'm gonna read it, okay, and then and then I think because if the same song pops into my head, then I'll be like, alright.
- 56:38SPEAKER_07: Um mixtape this moment.
- 56:41SPEAKER_07: Run into a burning building to rescue a puppy, a baby, and a rare oil painting.
- 56:47SPEAKER_07: The art world thought was long lost.
- 56:51SPEAKER_07: Okay, it did pop into my head.
- 56:55SPEAKER_10: Um, it is.
- 56:58SPEAKER_07: Let me let me do it again.
- 56:59SPEAKER_07: Run into a burning building to rescue a puppy, a baby, and a rare oil painting, the art world thought was long lost.
- 57:05SPEAKER_07: What's on the paint?
- 57:07SPEAKER_07: Wow.
- 57:10SPEAKER_07: Alright.
- 57:11SPEAKER_10: So I didn't get it.
- 57:14SPEAKER_10: I forgot to ask Justin.
- 57:17SPEAKER_10: Unfortunately, all the way.
- 57:19SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 57:20SPEAKER_07: That's okay.
- 57:21SPEAKER_07: I forgot Justin.
- 57:22SPEAKER_07: I am sorry.
- 57:23SPEAKER_07: He's a loser.
- 57:24SPEAKER_07: He's not a loser.
- 57:25SPEAKER_07: I'm talking about you.
- 57:26SPEAKER_07: Well, yeah, I was telling Justin that you're a loser.
- 57:28SPEAKER_10: Yeah, I agree.
- 57:29SPEAKER_10: I agree.
- 57:30SPEAKER_10: 100%.
- 57:31SPEAKER_10: Okay, so go cousin Larry.
- 57:34SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 57:36SPEAKER_10: Alright.
- 57:37SPEAKER_10: Mixtape.
- 57:38SPEAKER_10: Well, there are lots of songs out there about fire, like Ring of Fire, Smoke On the Water, and Harry Nielsen's jump into the fire, which I considered.
- 57:48SPEAKER_10: But then I thought of songs about heroes like David Bowie's heroes, and the Kings Wish I Could Fly Like Superman, which would certainly come in handy.
- 57:57SPEAKER_10: But if I'm running into a burning building to save someone and something, my thought would be like would be to run like hell.
- 58:05SPEAKER_10: And there you have it, Pink Floyd's Pink Floyd's Run Like Hell.
- 58:08SPEAKER_10: That's my choice.
- 58:10SPEAKER_10: Honorable mention to Queen's Don't Stop Me Now seems like a good song to fire me up.
- 58:18SPEAKER_10: He's always got the best write-ups.
- 58:27SPEAKER_07: Great choice.
- 58:28SPEAKER_07: Yep.
- 59:04SPEAKER_07: It takes a while to get to the meat of the song.
- 59:06SPEAKER_07: So what uh what did you pick?
- 59:08SPEAKER_10: I picked it uh just because it's like you're like, ah no man.
- 59:15SPEAKER_10: I was like, it's gotta be a you're the best from the uh crowding kid soundtrack.
- 59:19SPEAKER_10: I can't think of the guy's name.
- 59:22SPEAKER_07: I know exactly what you mean.
- 59:23SPEAKER_10: You know, you know what you I would know you knew mixture.
- 59:26SPEAKER_10: Which song I want.
- 59:26SPEAKER_07: Joe Esposito.
- 59:27SPEAKER_07: That's the one.
- 59:28SPEAKER_07: Thank you.
- 59:29SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 59:39SPEAKER_07: Is it just us three this week?
- 59:41SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:00:10SPEAKER_07: Uh yeah, yeah, uh, either of those choices are fantastic.
- 1:00:13SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:00:13SPEAKER_07: I actually like I think I like Joe Esposito.
- 1:00:16SPEAKER_07: I would go with that.
- 1:00:17SPEAKER_10: I I that was the first one that popped in my head, and I'm like, this is gonna be awesome.
- 1:00:20SPEAKER_07: Actually, I run like hell.
- 1:00:21SPEAKER_07: You know, I don't know.
- 1:00:22SPEAKER_07: That's tough.
- 1:00:23SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:00:23SPEAKER_07: Um glad we don't have to choose because I I know that she's not gonna choose mine.
- 1:00:27SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 1:00:28SPEAKER_07: This is gonna be good.
- 1:00:29SPEAKER_07: I I went a different direction.
- 1:00:34SPEAKER_07: I told you when I read it, when I read it last week, the first thing that popped into my head.
- 1:00:39SPEAKER_07: I'm gonna play you the first thing that popped into my head.
- 1:00:41SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 1:00:41SPEAKER_07: Okay, do me a favor and read it again.
- 1:00:43SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 1:00:44SPEAKER_07: Right now?
- 1:00:44SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:00:45SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 1:00:46SPEAKER_10: Run into a burning building to rescue a puppy, baby, and a rare oil painting in the art world.
- 1:00:51SPEAKER_01: All right, just to make it.
- 1:01:17SPEAKER_10: Mountain commercial.
- 1:01:18SPEAKER_10: I totally forgot about this, man.
- 1:01:21SPEAKER_07: It was a Super Bowl commercial, I think.
- 1:01:23SPEAKER_07: I think it was, right?
- 1:01:29SPEAKER_07: I don't expect monkey baby.
- 1:01:30SPEAKER_07: I don't expect this is just one, but this is what I think.
- 1:01:35SPEAKER_01: I like it.
- 1:01:36SPEAKER_01: Puppy monkey baby.
- 1:01:38SPEAKER_01: Poppy monkey baby poppy.
- 1:01:40SPEAKER_01: Monkey baby.
- 1:01:43SPEAKER_01: Puppy monkey baby.
- 1:01:56SPEAKER_07: So that's my that's my unconventional pick.
- 1:01:59SPEAKER_07: Freaking love it.
- 1:02:00SPEAKER_07: Puppy Monkey Baby.
- 1:02:01SPEAKER_07: It's a Mountain Dew commercial from 2016.
- 1:02:03SPEAKER_07: Love it.
- 1:02:03SPEAKER_10: Freaking love it, man.
- 1:02:05SPEAKER_10: Alright, let's pick one for next week.
- 1:02:06SPEAKER_10: Alright, let me uh get on.
- 1:02:10SPEAKER_10: Let me get on the mic!
- 1:02:12SPEAKER_07: I just hit my head on the mic.
- 1:02:14SPEAKER_10: I do that.
- 1:02:16SPEAKER_10: I do stuff like that all the time.
- 1:02:33SPEAKER_10: You enter a maximum security prison for the first time.
- 1:02:38SPEAKER_10: If you could pick one song that tells the other inmates not to even mess with you, what would it be?
- 1:02:46SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:02:47SPEAKER_07: Poppy Monkey Baby.
- 1:02:51SPEAKER_10: That dude's crazy.
- 1:02:54SPEAKER_07: Uh all right.
- 1:02:55SPEAKER_07: So there you go.
- 1:02:56SPEAKER_07: That is mixtape for this week.
- 1:02:58SPEAKER_07: Um Puppy Monkey Baby.
- 1:02:59SPEAKER_07: I think it is a tough time.
- 1:03:00SPEAKER_07: Puppy Monkey Baby for Mrs.
- 1:03:02SPEAKER_07: Judge and it's Run Like Hell and Joe Esposito's.
- 1:03:05SPEAKER_07: You're the best around.
- 1:03:06SPEAKER_07: Uh sure should.
- 1:03:08SPEAKER_07: If she picks mine, Puppy Monkey Baby.
- 1:03:10SPEAKER_07: She's Puppy Monkey Baby.
- 1:03:13SPEAKER_07: Puppy Monkey Baby.
- 1:03:14SPEAKER_07: See, already.
- 1:03:15SPEAKER_07: See?
- 1:03:15SPEAKER_07: Yeah, it's stuck in my head.
- 1:03:17SPEAKER_07: It's catchy.
- 1:03:17SPEAKER_07: It's catchy.
- 1:03:18SPEAKER_07: Puppy Monkey Baby.
- 1:03:19SPEAKER_07: All right.
- 1:03:19SPEAKER_07: Uh, we'll take a break and we'll come back and we'll climb the wall of tunes.

- 1:04:49SPEAKER_10: Puppy Monkey Baby.
- 1:04:52SPEAKER_07: So let's do.
- 1:04:53SPEAKER_07: Oh, I have to do this.
- 1:04:54SPEAKER_07: Hold on.
- 1:04:55SPEAKER_07: I have to make sure that I have that.
- 1:04:57SPEAKER_07: So that I can what just happened?
- 1:05:03SPEAKER_07: Puppy Monkey Baby.
- 1:05:05SPEAKER_07: That's what happened.
- 1:05:06SPEAKER_07: I've created a monster.
- 1:05:09SPEAKER_10: No, you've created a puppy monkey baby.
- 1:05:13SPEAKER_06: Alright, let's do this.
- 1:05:15SPEAKER_06: O'Brien and Doug's wall.
- 1:05:19SPEAKER_06: It's time for O'Brien and Doug's smash or trash.
- 1:05:23SPEAKER_06: Well, it's really just O'Brien's.
- 1:05:26SPEAKER_07: Alright.
- 1:05:27SPEAKER_07: On the chopping block today is this one.
- 1:05:34SPEAKER_07: Well, one one could say.
- 1:05:38SPEAKER_10: That's what it was.
- 1:05:39SPEAKER_07: Chris Schmither Small Revelations.
- 1:05:44SPEAKER_07: I think it's from like nineteen ninety ninety-seven.
- 1:05:48SPEAKER_11: I'm so tired of hanging down.
- 1:05:53SPEAKER_11: I believe I get married.
- 1:05:57SPEAKER_11: I won't settle down.
- 1:06:01SPEAKER_11: This all night line.
- 1:06:04SPEAKER_11: What is all sporting line?
- 1:06:07SPEAKER_11: He's killing me.
- 1:06:09SPEAKER_07: That's a traditional tune.
- 1:06:11SPEAKER_07: Traditional blue stone song.
- 1:06:13SPEAKER_07: This one's called Hook Line and Sinker.
- 1:06:19SPEAKER_07: That's a slow fade in, apparently.
- 1:06:21SPEAKER_10: Very slow.
- 1:06:24SPEAKER_07: So I have a lot of Chris Smither, uh, mostly later stuff.
- 1:06:30SPEAKER_07: From like 2015 on.
- 1:06:33SPEAKER_07: Uh, this is an older one.
- 1:06:37SPEAKER_07: Um, so we're gonna start with Jeff.
- 1:06:39SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 1:06:40SPEAKER_07: Carry on.
- 1:06:41SPEAKER_07: Uh Jeff's message on Monday afternoon was yes, Doug, I did procreate.
- 1:06:46SPEAKER_07: I know I said.
- 1:06:48SPEAKER_07: Luckily, I think they're two good kids, but time will tell.
- 1:06:53SPEAKER_07: Sorry, I am sure there was more than a time or two where you told me not to procreate.
- 1:06:58SPEAKER_07: I don't think I ever said that.
- 1:06:59SPEAKER_07: I don't think you did either.
- 1:07:00SPEAKER_07: If you did, it was like as a joke.
- 1:07:01SPEAKER_07: Well, as a joke, yes.
- 1:07:02SPEAKER_07: Yeah, of course it was.
- 1:07:03SPEAKER_10: I think he I think if I didn't, if I had ever said anything like that, it was like when I first met him.
- 1:07:10SPEAKER_10: Because my first meeting with Jeff, Bataka Rolls, Bataka Rolls! I'm like, who the frick is this guy?
- 1:07:17SPEAKER_07: And we've since grown to love him.
- 1:07:19SPEAKER_07: And now he's a brother, so uh regarding this week's Smash Trash at Small Revolutions, man, you introduced me to so much music.
- 1:07:28SPEAKER_07: Man, that album is a smash.
- 1:07:31SPEAKER_07: Alright.
- 1:07:31SPEAKER_07: Alright.
- 1:07:32SPEAKER_07: So let me get my let me get my sound effect up here because uh Kariani is calling that a smash.
- 1:07:43SPEAKER_07: It's just uh it's just you, me, Jeff, and Bob.
- 1:07:47SPEAKER_07: And the judge.
- 1:07:48SPEAKER_07: And the judge.
- 1:07:48SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 1:07:49SPEAKER_07: Uh why don't we do the judge?
- 1:07:50SPEAKER_10: The judge.
- 1:07:50SPEAKER_10: Okay.
- 1:07:51SPEAKER_10: Judge says, as for smash or trash, I have to go with trash this week.
- 1:07:56SPEAKER_10: I enjoy good folk music from time to time, but not enough to keep multiple in a bi-weekly rotation.
- 1:08:03SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 1:08:04SPEAKER_07: Fair enough.
- 1:08:07SPEAKER_07: There we go.
- 1:08:09SPEAKER_07: Um now to bounce a month.
- 1:08:12SPEAKER_07: So that's one smash, one trash.
- 1:08:14SPEAKER_07: Um Smash or Trash, Small Revelations by Chris Smithers.
- 1:08:18SPEAKER_07: The verdict trash.
- 1:08:20SPEAKER_07: Uh let me do that for him first because uh what he said next.
- 1:08:25SPEAKER_07: Trash! Um My favorite part of your podcast is now this section of Smash or Trash.
- 1:08:31SPEAKER_07: I love the sound effects.
- 1:08:32SPEAKER_07: I'm tempted to vote trash each week just to hear the trash sound effect.
- 1:08:35SPEAKER_07: Trash! So let's do it again for him.
- 1:08:38SPEAKER_07: There we go.
- 1:08:39SPEAKER_07: That's for you, Bob.
- 1:08:40SPEAKER_07: This week bring on the trash voice, though I like the music.
- 1:08:43SPEAKER_07: I thought Smithers' voice was hard to listen to through the whole album.
- 1:08:48SPEAKER_07: Trash! So that is two votes for trash, one vote for smash.
- 1:08:54SPEAKER_07: Doug, what is your vote?
- 1:08:55SPEAKER_10: My vote is also trash.
- 1:08:56SPEAKER_07: Is what?
- 1:08:57SPEAKER_07: Trash trash.
- 1:08:59SPEAKER_07: Did you say trash?
- 1:09:01SPEAKER_07: I did say that.
- 1:09:02SPEAKER_07: Um Puppy Monkey Baby.
- 1:09:03SPEAKER_07: And your reasons?
- 1:09:05SPEAKER_10: No, I just it it's I mean it's good.
- 1:09:07SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:09:08SPEAKER_10: But it's i I have to be in a certain mind space to listen to stuff like that.
- 1:09:13SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:09:13SPEAKER_10: And it's not like an entire album of it.
- 1:09:16SPEAKER_10: It's it has to be interspersed with other things.
- 1:09:19SPEAKER_10: I mean, he's good.
- 1:09:20SPEAKER_10: No, I mean no no disrespect-wise or anything like that, but I just it's just not my thing.
- 1:09:26SPEAKER_07: Um, I I get it.
- 1:09:27SPEAKER_07: Uh let me um uh let's see, where is it here?
- 1:09:34SPEAKER_07: Um I'm gonna play a little piece of some of his newer stuff.
- 1:09:37SPEAKER_07: Um so Doug votes trash.
- 1:09:38SPEAKER_07: So I believe it or not, Jeff, I apologize.
- 1:09:42SPEAKER_07: But I also vote trash.
- 1:09:45SPEAKER_07: Uh I like I said, I have a lot of Chris Smither and the newer stuff.
- 1:09:51SPEAKER_07: Jeff, I'll tell you this.
- 1:09:53SPEAKER_07: If you like this album, then you would love some of his newer stuff.
- 1:09:58SPEAKER_07: When I say newer, this is still twenty four years old.
- 1:10:02SPEAKER_07: Um, there's a song uh an album from 2003.
- 1:10:06SPEAKER_07: This is called Train Home.
- 1:10:09SPEAKER_07: Uh that I love this whole album.
- 1:10:41SPEAKER_12: Take me as I am, not what I wanna be.
- 1:10:46SPEAKER_12: Why we'll never know we passed that long ago.
- 1:10:52SPEAKER_12: So we're ever gonna be down by the river, feels breath that makes him shiver, takes breath, makes dive along.
- 1:11:05SPEAKER_12: But today don't get no vacation down in that subway station.
- 1:11:11SPEAKER_12: The only break they take is to the ball.
- 1:11:15SPEAKER_12: And they wait on strange to take 'em home.
- 1:11:24SPEAKER_07: Take 'em home.
- 1:11:25SPEAKER_07: Alright.
- 1:11:26SPEAKER_07: Uh so have I ever played you his song Origin of the Species?
- 1:11:31SPEAKER_07: Do you does that sound familiar?
- 1:11:33SPEAKER_07: Uh it's funny.
- 1:11:34SPEAKER_07: I'm gonna play you that.
- 1:11:35SPEAKER_07: Uh, because and then I'm gonna read you some lyrics to another song.
- 1:11:38SPEAKER_07: Just because I don't want to sell Chris Smithers short.
- 1:11:41SPEAKER_07: Because you're right.
- 1:11:42SPEAKER_07: I mean, it is a an acquired taste.
- 1:11:44SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 1:11:44SPEAKER_07: Uh, but the songwriting is this is this is funny.
- 1:11:50SPEAKER_07: This is origin of the species.
- 1:11:51SPEAKER_07: You gotta listen to the words.
- 1:11:56SPEAKER_12: Well, you've told Adam Steaks I've had them.
- 1:11:59SPEAKER_12: Let's get out of here.
- 1:12:01SPEAKER_12: Go raise this family someplace out of town.
- 1:12:06SPEAKER_12: They left the garden just in time with the land old cussin' right behind their headed east and they finally settled down.
- 1:12:14SPEAKER_07: Are you catching this?
- 1:12:14SPEAKER_07: Yep.
- 1:12:15SPEAKER_12: One thing led to another.
- 1:12:17SPEAKER_12: A bunch of sons, one killed his brother, and they kicked him out with another, but it's close.
- 1:12:25SPEAKER_12: The human race survives, 'cause all those brothers found wives, but where they came from, ain't nobody With a landlord cussin' right behind that would be God.
- 1:12:40SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:12:46SPEAKER_12: Then came the flood go feed, just like New Orleans on a bigger.
- 1:12:50SPEAKER_12: No one who couldn't swim would make it through.
- 1:12:55SPEAKER_12: The lucky one's brought the boat like circus, and then make it flow.
- 1:13:00SPEAKER_12: No, nobody puts a fit there crowd is a mystery.
- 1:13:14SPEAKER_12: Lions don't eat cabbage and inspired that old eddies.
- 1:13:18SPEAKER_12: I ain't never seen one down with a lamb.
- 1:13:43SPEAKER_07: I just want you to hear this.
- 1:13:44SPEAKER_07: I'm I'm gonna play this whole song.
- 1:13:48SPEAKER_12: We'll target down and look so fun to weight things up.
- 1:13:53SPEAKER_12: Because unfolding plan Got it up, mixing DNA, they can use it any way they want.
- 1:14:07SPEAKER_12: They'll have sex and mix up sections.
- 1:14:09SPEAKER_12: Of the code, they'll have mutations.
- 1:14:12SPEAKER_12: The whole thing works like clockwork over time.
- 1:14:17SPEAKER_12: I just sit back in shade while everyone is late.
- 1:14:21SPEAKER_12: That's what I call intelligent design.
- 1:14:26SPEAKER_12: Yeah, you and your cat named Felix Both wrapped up in that double helix, is what we call intelligent design.
- 1:14:36SPEAKER_07: Um and I do want to read uh I'm not gonna play it, but I'll I'll read some lyrics to you uh from the album Train Home from a song called Outside In.
- 1:14:44SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 1:14:45SPEAKER_07: Um I just think this, you know, it's just poetic and just a fantastic just outlook.
- 1:14:54SPEAKER_07: Uh Did you ever stop to notice it's when you feel a little low that the entire spinning universe descends to say hello with heavy-handed cheerfulness and a calculated smile and says, carry me a while.
- 1:15:07SPEAKER_07: But you don't have to carry much of anything at all.
- 1:15:09SPEAKER_07: The biggest thoughts of bigger things are really pretty small.
- 1:15:12SPEAKER_07: The major thoughts that occupy the minor state of mind are what we leave behind.
- 1:15:16SPEAKER_07: Just a minor thought that we can leave behind.
- 1:15:19SPEAKER_07: Don't worry about the future, you can't afford the price.
- 1:15:21SPEAKER_07: There's madness to the method when you pay the piper twice.
- 1:15:24SPEAKER_07: Once when you start to worry, once again when you begin to take the future on the chin.
- 1:15:29SPEAKER_07: I know that you think worry is your ever faithful friend, because nothing that you o worry over ever happens in the end, and there might be something to it, but it sure gets in the way of fun today.
- 1:15:40SPEAKER_07: What do you say we have some fun today?
- 1:15:42SPEAKER_07: It takes a sense of balance on this tiny little ball with a tiny mind still big enough to think about it all, to realize the size of things is just a state of mind, and you can change your mind.
- 1:15:52SPEAKER_07: There's a riddle in the middle of that un uh universal spin, but we're out here on the edges where it gets a little thin.
- 1:15:58SPEAKER_07: So just for once, permit yourself a carefree little grin from the outside looking in.
- 1:16:02SPEAKER_07: Because we're out here on the outside looking in, and it's better on the outside looking in.
- 1:16:07SPEAKER_07: Isn't that cool?
- 1:16:07SPEAKER_07: Yeah, just perspective, you know.
- 1:16:09SPEAKER_07: Yeah, it's cool.
- 1:16:10SPEAKER_07: Anyway, so I I I want to give Chris Smither a fair shake.
- 1:16:14SPEAKER_07: The the album Small Revelations is a great album, but um like I said, um it is an acquired taste, and I have some of his newer stuff that I like better.
- 1:16:25SPEAKER_07: So this is going to the trash.
- 1:16:28SPEAKER_10: KMH.
- 1:16:29SPEAKER_07: True.
- 1:16:30SPEAKER_07: And you can order for three bucks.
- 1:16:31SPEAKER_07: Yes, you can at KMH.
- 1:16:33SPEAKER_07: And KMH has uh taken in a bunch of um new stuff.
- 1:16:38SPEAKER_07: Yeah well new to them.
- 1:16:40SPEAKER_07: Vinyl CDs, um records that were um shows from back in the day.
- 1:16:48SPEAKER_07: I got one by the way.
- 1:16:48SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:16:50SPEAKER_07: Dick Clark, Casey Kasum, Rick Dees, you know, all of these shows became to radio stations on vinyl at first and eventually on CD as well.
- 1:17:00SPEAKER_07: Uh and somebody had them and and turned and gave them to the KMH, and now they're selling it.
- 1:17:06SPEAKER_07: So it's it's pretty cool stuff if you're into that kind of nostalgia.
- 1:17:11SPEAKER_10: Right.
- 1:17:12SPEAKER_07: You know, he showed me he showed me the Dick Clark one, and he's like, I really love how it's it's mapped out, you know, it shows where these commercials are played, and I was like, dude, this is what I did when I started in video.
- 1:17:23SPEAKER_07: Exactly.
- 1:17:24SPEAKER_07: You know, I read all this stuff and I made sure that all that stuff played on the air and stuff.
- 1:17:28SPEAKER_07: It was really, really cool.
- 1:17:29SPEAKER_07: So I he gave me one of the um one of the Dick Clark ones.
- 1:17:33SPEAKER_07: Cool.
- 1:17:33SPEAKER_07: And it's got Jude Cole on it.
- 1:17:34SPEAKER_07: Nice.
- 1:17:35SPEAKER_07: It's from like the nine the early nineties.
- 1:17:36SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 1:17:37SPEAKER_07: So I was perfect.
- 1:17:38SPEAKER_07: I was pretty pumped.
- 1:17:39SPEAKER_07: Um so yes, this album will be at KMH Music on Ministry and Prascal if you are interested in tracking it out.
- 1:17:48SPEAKER_07: And uh I guess is that it?
- 1:17:52SPEAKER_07: Oh, the noise is right.
- 1:19:07SPEAKER_07: Yeah, it is under Okay.
- 1:19:10SPEAKER_07: Are you ready?
- 1:19:11SPEAKER_07: I'm ready.
- 1:19:12SPEAKER_07: Let's see.
- 1:19:15SPEAKER_07: Oh Young Gun soundtrack.
- 1:19:19SPEAKER_07: It is the Young Guns Two of Two soundtrack.
- 1:19:23SPEAKER_07: John Bon Jovi.
- 1:19:31SPEAKER_07: Obviously, a classic tune.
- 1:19:33SPEAKER_07: Blaze of Glory.
- 1:19:34SPEAKER_10: I mean, it's a it's a great song, but I got sick of it after a while.
- 1:19:37SPEAKER_10: Oh yeah.
- 1:19:40SPEAKER_07: Yeah, for sure.
- 1:19:42SPEAKER_07: I am curious.
- 1:19:44SPEAKER_07: I know that there was a lot of guest artists on this.
- 1:19:50SPEAKER_07: So on this particular song.
- 1:19:56SPEAKER_07: On this particular song, Kenny Aronoff is playing drums.
- 1:19:58SPEAKER_07: Of course he is.
- 1:19:59SPEAKER_07: Randy Jackson from American Idols is playing bass.
- 1:20:02SPEAKER_07: What up, dog?
- 1:20:03SPEAKER_07: Ben Montench, the organ uh from uh Heartbreakers.
- 1:20:07SPEAKER_07: Heartbreakers, yeah.
- 1:20:08SPEAKER_07: Jeff Beck does the guitar solo.
- 1:20:10SPEAKER_07: Uh and Aldo Nova plays uh electric guitars, acoustic guitars, and keyboards.
- 1:20:17SPEAKER_07: Wow, that's a all-star line album.
- 1:20:19SPEAKER_07: Yeah, um, one of my favorite songs on this album, actually, uh, was a minor hit.
- 1:20:26SPEAKER_07: Uh you remember this Miracle?
- 1:20:35SPEAKER_07: Vaguely.
- 1:20:36SPEAKER_07: I actually really love this song.
- 1:20:38SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 1:20:46SPEAKER_07: Same lineup of people, with addition of a couple others.
- 1:20:52SPEAKER_07: Danny Kortzmar, Danny Cooch on guitar.
- 1:20:58SPEAKER_07: You don't remember the song?
- 1:20:59SPEAKER_07: No.
- 1:21:03SPEAKER_10: I don't think I ever had this soundtrack.
- 1:21:06SPEAKER_10: I think I only saw the movie a couple times.
- 1:21:08SPEAKER_04: Oh, we don't know the soundplace.
- 1:21:58SPEAKER_07: I really like that song.
- 1:21:59SPEAKER_07: This one has Elton John on it.
- 1:22:13SPEAKER_07: So that's it.
- 1:22:15SPEAKER_07: Um it's essentially a John Bon Jovi solo album.
- 1:22:22SPEAKER_07: I thought that some other members of Bon Jovi actually played with him uh in this in the studio, but they didn't.
- 1:22:29SPEAKER_07: Which is weird, yeah.
- 1:22:31SPEAKER_10: But I kinda knowing Bon Jovi.
- 1:22:37SPEAKER_10: Yeah.
- 1:22:38SPEAKER_10: How he is.
- 1:22:39SPEAKER_10: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:22:39SPEAKER_10: I can't I get now, retrospectively, I get it.
- 1:22:42SPEAKER_10: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:22:43SPEAKER_07: Me too, me too.
- 1:22:44SPEAKER_07: Uh so this is technically Blaze of Glory songs written and performed by John Bon Jovi, inspired by the film Young Guns 2.
- 1:22:52SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 1:22:53SPEAKER_07: So it's not necessarily that they were on the soundtrack.
- 1:22:55SPEAKER_10: I was about to say, because I I only saw the movie, like I said, I only saw the movie once or twice.
- 1:22:59SPEAKER_10: Right.
- 1:22:59SPEAKER_10: Some of them I think were in the soundtrack, but uh it's kind of hard to justify some of like this song when you're talking about Jesse James.
- 1:23:08SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 1:23:09SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 1:23:10SPEAKER_07: Maybe like in the credits or something.
- 1:23:12SPEAKER_10: Well, yeah, I mean I get it.
- 1:23:13SPEAKER_10: I that I can say, but not during the movie.
- 1:23:16SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 1:23:17SPEAKER_07: You know.
- 1:23:17SPEAKER_07: Uh John Bon Jovi was actually in Young Guns 2.
- 1:23:20SPEAKER_07: Was he?
- 1:23:21SPEAKER_07: He was like in the very beginning, he's one of the guys that gets shot first.
- 1:23:24SPEAKER_08: Oh well.
- 1:23:24SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 1:23:25SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:23:26SPEAKER_08: Probably like, hey John, you want to be in this movie?
- 1:23:28SPEAKER_08: Sure.
- 1:23:30SPEAKER_07: Okay, so that's on the chopping block this week from 1990.
- 1:23:34SPEAKER_07: John Bon Jovi, Blaze of Glory.
- 1:23:37SPEAKER_07: Also, I mean, I have that song other places.
- 1:23:40SPEAKER_07: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 1:23:41SPEAKER_07: That's on Bon Jovi's greatest.
- 1:23:43SPEAKER_07: Greatest heads, yeah.
- 1:23:44SPEAKER_14: Yeah.
- 1:23:45SPEAKER_07: So, there you go.
- 1:23:47SPEAKER_07: Uh do what you will with that and uh vote accordingly.
- 1:23:50SPEAKER_07: Smash or trash.
- 1:23:53SPEAKER_07: Shall we uh, you know, what do you call it?
