- 0:05Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett. Hello, Big
- 0:12Speaker 1: Blue Nation. Welcome to Just the Cats. My name is
- 0:16Speaker 1: Michael Bennett on this Tuesday, October 27th. Man, October is
- 0:21Speaker 1: just winding down as quickly as it can. And before
- 0:23Speaker 1: you know it, it's going to be Halloween. And then
- 0:27Speaker 1: right after, I guarantee it, as soon as November 1st hits,
- 0:33Speaker 1: It's going to be Christmas everywhere. Good morning, Justin Kalen.
- 0:36Speaker 1: How are you doing on this Tuesday morning? I'm living
- 0:39Speaker 1: it up. Really? Living large, yeah. Somebody left the door,
- 0:42Speaker 1: the window open, by the way, over here. Well, if
- 0:45Speaker 1: you saw it, why didn't you close it? It's freezing
- 0:48Speaker 1: in here. By that point, it was already too late.
- 0:50Speaker 1: I'll trade you studios. Will you? It's hot in mine. Oh,
- 0:53Speaker 1: it is? I would love for it to be freezing.
- 0:55Speaker 1: I would love for it to be hot. I'm over here.
- 0:59Speaker 1: I'm freezing over here. So, anyway. I've got an extra
- 1:01Speaker 1: sweater if you want it.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Really? Yeah, like it'll fit. Well, it'll fit, and it's Indiana. So,
- 1:07Speaker 2: you'll look good, too. Yeah, I don't wear red. Well,
- 1:09Speaker 2: you know I don't wear red. I don't wear black.
- 1:11Speaker 1: So, there you go. Oh, it's a good thing for you.
- 1:13Speaker 1: It's gray. See, I'm Breeders' Cup today. I've got my
- 1:19Speaker 1: Breeders' Cup vest on that I bought many years ago
- 1:24Speaker 1: at Keeneland, and that's the thing you do. All right.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Do you want to know how you save money buying
- 1:30Speaker 1: stuff from big events?
- 1:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:33Speaker 1: You wait until it's over? Exactly. So after the Breeders'
- 1:37Speaker 1: Cup this weekend, I guarantee you go to Keeneland next week,
- 1:40Speaker 1: they'll have stuff half off or more. Okay. All the
- 1:43Speaker 1: stuff that they don't sell. Or go the day of
- 1:46Speaker 1: at later in the afternoon. and there'll be stuff going
- 1:49Speaker 1: on sale. That's how you save money, and that's how
- 1:53Speaker 1: I do it. I feel like the PGA Championship, when
- 1:55Speaker 1: it was here, did something similar. Like the last day,
- 1:58Speaker 1: in the final hours, they just marked everything down. My
- 2:02Speaker 1: dad found out from somebody within the PGA that they,
- 2:07Speaker 1: and then after the event is over, they get rid
- 2:09Speaker 1: of it by destroying it. Excuse me? That's exactly right.
- 2:15Speaker 1: And I don't know if they do that anymore, but
- 2:18Speaker 1: they used to just throw it away. They would not
- 2:22Speaker 1: sell it at discount anywhere else other than at the
- 2:25Speaker 1: PGA event. That's ridiculous. That's what I thought. It's like,
- 2:28Speaker 1: why would you do that?
- 2:29Speaker 2: I mean, I know it all probably has years on
- 2:31Speaker 2: it and stuff, but I don't care. Yeah, I would
- 2:33Speaker 2: take anything.
- 2:34Speaker 1: No, I've gone to like, for instance, TJ Maxx. And
- 2:39Speaker 1: I bought Super Bowl stuff there that were from like
- 2:42Speaker 1: a year or two earlier. I don't care if I
- 2:45Speaker 1: like it. It's like I'm going to wear it anyway.
- 2:48Speaker 1: So anyway, but it's just one of those things. Now,
- 2:51Speaker 1: I'm not going to buy anything for the World Series
- 2:53Speaker 1: this year. I will tell you that. Yeah, that's gotten ugly.
- 2:56Speaker 1: It's not pretty. No, it really isn't. Well, maybe we'll
- 3:01Speaker 1: talk about a little later, but I want to stay
- 3:03Speaker 1: in a good mood. OK, I just I want to
- 3:05Speaker 1: stay in a good mood. And it's it's been tough. So,
- 3:10Speaker 1: you know, I got a text from my son last
- 3:12Speaker 1: night and he said, it's over. And it's all he said.
- 3:16Speaker 1: It's over. It's like, thanks. I mean, that was a
- 3:18Speaker 1: bit of a closure when he said that. It's just
- 3:21Speaker 1: not good. I mean, you didn't see that score and
- 3:23Speaker 1: think that was already enough closure? Yeah, I know. But
- 3:26Speaker 1: it's just, it's whatever. But it's okay. Because you know
- 3:32Speaker 1: what I thought? My Kentucky Wildcats are... number eight in
- 3:35Speaker 1: the country, or nine, whatever, because I know you're going
- 3:37Speaker 1: to say nine, so I might as well beat you
- 3:39Speaker 1: to the punch. I actually wasn't going to correct you. Oh,
- 3:42Speaker 1: you weren't?
- 3:42Speaker 2: Okay, well, I really appreciate that. I'm letting you live
- 3:45Speaker 2: in this life. You say do whatever you want. Enjoy
- 3:48Speaker 2: the sunshine of Kentucky football.
- 3:50Speaker 1: I love it. Which ranking should we look at, though?
- 3:53Speaker 1: Do you trust the coaches, or do you trust the media? Media.
- 3:58Speaker 1: You do, really? More so than the coaches. Yeah, because
- 3:59Speaker 1: the coaches can't watch. Aren't really doing it? They can't
- 4:01Speaker 1: watch every game.
- 4:02Speaker 4: No.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Now, the media, I'm not insinuating that the media does either,
- 4:09Speaker 2: but I would imagine the media watches more games than
- 4:12Speaker 2: the average coach.
- 4:12Speaker 1: Well, are you aware that Alabama fans are losing their
- 4:16Speaker 1: mind right now? Because y'all are ranked ahead of them? Exactly. Well,
- 4:21Speaker 1: I mean, that's simple. They have two losses, you have one. Well,
- 4:23Speaker 1: that's what I thought. It's that easy. Of course, I'm
- 4:27Speaker 1: well aware that we lost, or Kentucky lost, 45-17 to Alabama.
- 4:33Speaker 1: But do you think Alabama wants to play Kentucky again
- 4:36Speaker 1: right now? Absolutely not. That's what I think. I mean,
- 4:39Speaker 1: why risk it? I just think that if the game
- 4:44Speaker 1: had been played later... If we'd played Florida like we
- 4:48Speaker 1: normally do and played Alabama late in the season, I
- 4:50Speaker 1: think Alabama would be a little more nervous about this
- 4:52Speaker 1: ball game. I think Tennessee is a little nervous about
- 4:55Speaker 1: this game. Much as they don't want to admit it,
- 4:58Speaker 1: I think Tennessee fans are really nervous about that game.
- 5:01Speaker 1: But Alabama's fan base losing their mind, complaining that UK
- 5:06Speaker 1: is ahead of them. Well, that's what happens when you
- 5:10Speaker 1: lose more games. I mean, just because, let's say, for instance,
- 5:13Speaker 1: they lost four or five games. Does that mean they
- 5:16Speaker 1: should be ranked ahead of Kentucky and UK's only lost
- 5:19Speaker 1: one game? No. No, of course not. I don't understand Alabama.
- 5:25Speaker 1: They don't have an argument, do they?
- 5:28Speaker 2: I mean, I don't think so. No, they, they haven't.
- 5:32Speaker 2: I mean, they beaten some good teams out. Look, Alabama
- 5:34Speaker 2: is a great team, but yeah, I'm not criticizing that
- 5:37Speaker 2: at all.
- 5:37Speaker 1: It really is that simple. One loss versus two loss.
- 5:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 5:41Speaker 1: And therefore your team gets below, even though you beat
- 5:45Speaker 1: the other team a little early. So, uh, anyway, uh, yes,
- 5:48Speaker 1: I'll read the post positions a little later, uh, 48 handily.
- 5:52Speaker 1: So just for you and I'll, I'll, I'll make certain
- 5:55Speaker 1: that we get those. He wants post positions for, uh,
- 5:58Speaker 1: What's it called? Breeders' Cup. Classic. Yeah. I'm excited. Are
- 6:05Speaker 1: you excited about the Breeders' Cup? I don't think anybody
- 6:09Speaker 1: in Lexington is excited about the Breeders' Cup. I think
- 6:12Speaker 1: they're more excited about what's going on with football, and
- 6:15Speaker 1: that's taking precedence over everything else. And I can completely
- 6:18Speaker 1: understand that.
- 6:18Speaker 4: Sure. Yeah.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Same. I'm very much the same way as well. So, but...
- 6:25Speaker 1: There was something that I found interesting, though, is that
- 6:31Speaker 1: one of the players, and I'm, shoot, I'm drawing a
- 6:34Speaker 1: blank on his name, Ty Bryant, the defensive back, the senior.
- 6:39Speaker 1: He thinks that even after the Vanderbilt game, everyone still
- 6:46Speaker 1: doubts this UK football team. I don't think that's the
- 6:50Speaker 1: case at all. Do you think? All right. You don't
- 6:52Speaker 1: think so? That's him trying to pump himself up. I
- 6:56Speaker 1: don't know if I agree with that. No, I do.
- 6:59Speaker 2: I mean, that's literally him just trying to act like
- 7:01Speaker 2: there's this narrative out there that I don't think there is.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Hmm. What do you think the point spread will be
- 7:07Speaker 1: when it opens up next week between UK, Tennessee? Tennessee
- 7:14Speaker 1: three and a half. Whoa. Do you really think it's
- 7:16Speaker 1: going to be that low?
- 7:18Speaker 4: Wow.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Okay. I mean, I could see it being higher. I
- 7:22Speaker 1: think it'll be higher. I think Ty Bryan's right. I
- 7:27Speaker 1: think there are still many people out there that still
- 7:31Speaker 1: doubt this UK football team.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, maybe there is. From a national perspective,
- 7:37Speaker 2: maybe there is. But I don't think it'd be higher
- 7:40Speaker 2: than six and a half.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Really? Okay. Yeah, I hate to tell you, I was
- 7:44Speaker 1: going to say nine or ten. I mean, that's what
- 7:47Speaker 1: they want. Well, you mean UK? Yeah. Oh, I couldn't
- 7:52Speaker 1: agree more because that really motivates them. As soon as
- 7:56Speaker 1: that narrative changes, it'll be interesting to see how this
- 7:59Speaker 1: team handles it. And I still think this team will
- 8:01Speaker 1: handle it well. I don't think they need to know
- 8:04Speaker 1: that everybody's against them. I think they have gotten to
- 8:08Speaker 1: a point now they are comfortable in their own skin.
- 8:12Speaker 1: and they being the University of Kentucky football roster. I
- 8:16Speaker 1: really believe that. Now, do I still doubt it? Yeah,
- 8:20Speaker 1: I do a little bit. The Tennessee game is probably
- 8:23Speaker 1: the game I'm worried about the most. We talked about
- 8:27Speaker 1: it briefly yesterday, but I have to say it is
- 8:30Speaker 1: the Tennessee game I worry about the most. Yeah, because,
- 8:33Speaker 1: I mean, it's on the road. It's a place you
- 8:35Speaker 1: never win.
- 8:36Speaker 2: I mean, what have you beaten Tennessee three times in
- 8:39Speaker 2: your lifetime?
- 8:40Speaker 1: In my lifetime? Ooh, that's a great question. Man, I
- 8:46Speaker 1: remember doing it back in 1984. I know we did
- 8:48Speaker 1: it in the 70s, but I don't remember it. Because
- 8:51Speaker 1: that UK 1977 or 1976 team was really, it was
- 8:52Speaker 1: 76 or 77. You know what the series record is?
- 8:54Speaker 1: It's way, way lopsided. Go ahead. 86 to 26 to 9. Yeah.
- 8:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:10Speaker 1: And that's pretty bad. See, that's awful. That's why I say,
- 9:14Speaker 1: even though I want it to be a rivalry, it's
- 9:15Speaker 1: not a rivalry. UK-Tennessee is not a rivalry. Even though
- 9:21Speaker 1: I can't stand to my definition. Okay? I know it's
- 9:26Speaker 1: the most ridiculous thing you've ever heard of, but it's
- 9:28Speaker 1: just not. Just like Alabama's not a rival to Tennessee.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Because Alabama's dominated Tennessee for so many years. Even though
- 9:38Speaker 1: Tennessee would like that to be. They've actually beat them
- 9:40Speaker 1: seven times since 77. UK has? Or 76. Seven times? Yeah. Really?
- 9:48Speaker 1: That's more than I would have thought. Because I was
- 9:49Speaker 1: right there with you. I was thinking three or four.
- 9:51Speaker 1: All right, go through. Does it have the dates by chance?
- 9:54Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:54Speaker 1: All right, go through them. So you had, obviously, 2020.
- 9:57Speaker 1: I think we all remember that one.
- 9:59Speaker 4: 34-7.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Seven. Yeah, that was the John Schlarman. That was wild. Yeah,
- 10:03Speaker 1: that was that game was dedicated to John Schlarman. I'll
- 10:07Speaker 1: never forget Mark Stoops giving him the ball. And I
- 10:10Speaker 1: believe that was the last game that John was at. And, wow,
- 10:14Speaker 1: that was motivation within itself to win for that guy.
- 10:18Speaker 1: So everybody loved Coach Slarman. But, all right, 2000, what's next?
- 10:22Speaker 1: 2017 was a 29-26 win for the Cats.
- 10:24Speaker 4: Okay.
- 10:24Speaker 1: You had 2011, a 10-7 shootout.
- 10:24Speaker 4: Oh, boring.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Uh, prior to that though, I mean, you gotta go.
- 10:37Speaker 2: So 2007 or 2011. Oh wait, it was 2011. The
- 10:42Speaker 2: one that the quarterback won the, or the wide receiver
- 10:44Speaker 2: that turned quarterback for that one particular game.
- 10:47Speaker 1: I bet it was. And I can't think of his name,
- 10:50Speaker 1: but that no, no, no, no, no. I can't think
- 10:55Speaker 1: of it either. I yeah. Bowden Lynn Bowden. No, he
- 10:59Speaker 1: was no, no, no, no, no, no. That was a, yeah,
- 11:01Speaker 1: that was way after that. That was a, Yeah, I
- 11:05Speaker 1: can't remember who that was. But anyway, but go ahead.
- 11:08Speaker 2: So after 2011, you got to go all the way
- 11:10Speaker 2: back to 1984. A 17 to 12 win.
- 11:15Speaker 1: And see, that was in Knoxville. I remember that distinctly.
- 11:19Speaker 1: And then you had 20 or 1981.
- 11:20Speaker 2: 2110 win.
- 11:20Speaker 1: That was at home on the road in 1977. You
- 11:23Speaker 1: won 2117. Yeah. I know that was at home. And
- 11:26Speaker 1: then on the road. He won seven to nothing in 1976. Yes. Okay. Uh,
- 11:37Speaker 1: I was right. It was a wide receiver that did
- 11:41Speaker 1: that in 2011. His name was Matt Rourke. Oh, okay. Yeah. Yeah. So, uh,
- 11:47Speaker 1: and that was, that was a very, very, very unexpected
- 11:51Speaker 1: win right there. It's a horrible season, but, uh, that,
- 11:54Speaker 1: that was a lot of fun. Nobody expected Matt Rourke, uh,
- 11:58Speaker 1: to do what he did that day. But, uh, I do. I,
- 12:01Speaker 1: so I do think some media is coming over, you know, you,
- 12:04Speaker 1: we saw it now, uh, uh, this past weekend, but
- 12:07Speaker 1: I don't think that was college game day going out
- 12:10Speaker 1: on a limb saying UK across the board was going
- 12:12Speaker 1: to win against Vanderbilt. I don't think that was now.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Did that make you nervous though? Cause I saw that. No, no,
- 12:21Speaker 1: it didn't. Uh, but I do want to talk about
- 12:23Speaker 1: the whole Pat McAfee thing in a little while. Not yet,
- 12:26Speaker 1: but I do want to talk about that. Cause he,
- 12:28Speaker 1: he had all kinds of claims, but, uh, And the
- 12:32Speaker 1: controversy they were having out at University of Utah, which
- 12:34Speaker 1: I think they did nothing wrong. But let's talk about
- 12:38Speaker 1: the injury report. Last night, Will Stein had a show
- 12:41Speaker 1: with Tom Leach. He said the expectation is that senior
- 12:46Speaker 1: pass rusher Sam Green will be back for the Tennessee game.
- 12:53Speaker 1: So I think that's really big news right there.
- 12:56Speaker 4: Mm-hmm.
- 12:57Speaker 1: And the fact that he's coming back. And thank goodness
- 13:01Speaker 1: he is. Because now you're getting this week off. Now
- 13:04Speaker 1: we're getting some rest for these players. Typically, back in
- 13:07Speaker 1: the Mark Stoops era, we didn't like having a week off.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Because we always came out with a loss. I would
- 13:14Speaker 1: love to go back and look at the stats to
- 13:16Speaker 1: see how bad UK played after coming out of a
- 13:21Speaker 1: week off. Because I bet... I would be willing to
- 13:25Speaker 1: say UK lost almost every single game. Maybe they won one,
- 13:29Speaker 1: but I have a different confidence with Will Stein. And
- 13:35Speaker 1: now that I still have that still mentality, though, for
- 13:40Speaker 1: many years as a UK fan, that I don't believe
- 13:43Speaker 1: UK will win some more of these games. But I
- 13:46Speaker 1: don't know. Maybe they will. Kentucky football, right? You know,
- 13:49Speaker 1: that's a great description right there. I have a Kentucky
- 13:53Speaker 1: football brain. And it's going to take a while for
- 13:56Speaker 1: you all to break out. So you had a IU
- 13:59Speaker 1: football brain then is what you're telling me. Oh, no doubt.
- 14:01Speaker 1: And so that's gone? Oh, yeah. A thousand percent gone.
- 14:04Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Well, I hope it's gone for me sometime soon.
- 14:08Speaker 2: But if Kentucky makes the playoffs this year, regardless of
- 14:12Speaker 2: if they win or lose that first game, your football
- 14:15Speaker 2: brain will be gone. And they come out next season
- 14:18Speaker 2: and win the first few games handily, it'll be gone.
- 14:21Speaker 1: See, I just, no, I think it'll take at least
- 14:24Speaker 1: two seasons. No, I'm telling you it doesn't. Really? It
- 14:27Speaker 1: takes one season for my brain to completely change and
- 14:30Speaker 1: be rewired.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Maybe a season and a half. But yeah, it'll happen
- 14:34Speaker 2: next year for you. You'll find this confidence in Kentucky
- 14:38Speaker 2: football you never knew existed.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Well, they're giving UK football. 52% to reach the college
- 14:45Speaker 1: football playoff. Which is the ninth highest in the country.
- 14:48Speaker 1: For what it's worth. I just, when you say that,
- 14:54Speaker 1: it just blows my mind, even though I said it too.
- 14:56Speaker 1: It just, something like that being said, I just never
- 15:00Speaker 1: dreamed it would happen. Now, it's fun to talk about now.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Let's see what happens the next four games. I hope
- 15:06Speaker 1: it does. I will say I'm very nervous about it.
- 15:09Speaker 1: The closer we get to that opportunity, the more nervous
- 15:12Speaker 1: I get.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Have we gotten to a point with Kentucky fans that
- 15:17Speaker 2: there's going to be disappointment if you don't make the
- 15:19Speaker 2: college football playoff?
- 15:21Speaker 1: I think so. And that's crazy. Yes.
- 15:24Speaker 2: That is crazy. In year one under a guy who
- 15:27Speaker 2: has never been a head coach.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Right.
- 15:29Speaker 2: You're at a point where you're going to be disappointed
- 15:31Speaker 2: by not making the playoffs.
- 15:32Speaker 1: And I think that's the most important part that you
- 15:35Speaker 1: said right there. The fact that he has never been
- 15:38Speaker 1: a coach. And he's just done an unbelievable job. Now,
- 15:44Speaker 1: the worry is... Does he stay? Of course, he did
- 15:48Speaker 1: state last night that I love being here. So when
- 15:52Speaker 1: he was an offensive coordinator at Oregon, he said, what
- 15:56Speaker 1: are my dream jobs? He said, number one on the
- 15:58Speaker 1: list was University of Kentucky. He goes, if it got
- 16:01Speaker 1: offered to me, I'd be foolish not to take it.
- 16:03Speaker 1: I think I would regret if I didn't take it.
- 16:05Speaker 1: And he goes, this is home. Even though I grew
- 16:08Speaker 1: up in Louisville, this is home.
- 16:09Speaker 2: But yet yesterday or whenever that was, we're talking about,
- 16:13Speaker 2: will he leave after a year?
- 16:15Speaker 1: I think that quote tells you no. No, exactly. I
- 16:18Speaker 1: have all the confidence in the world. And I got
- 16:20Speaker 1: to believe Jay Batt has the legal team at University
- 16:26Speaker 1: of Kentucky writing something up as far as a contract.
- 16:29Speaker 2: I mean, if it's anything like Kurt Cignetti at Indiana,
- 16:32Speaker 2: this man's going to get like three raises the next
- 16:34Speaker 2: two years.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Well, he's already getting a raise right now with that
- 16:37Speaker 1: win over Vanderbilt. $ 100, 000. $ 100, 000. I mean, can you imagine?
- 16:44Speaker 1: That's just your bonus, $ 100, 000. We talked about it last week,
- 16:48Speaker 1: two and a half extra additional money and bonuses alone.
- 16:54Speaker 2: Did we talk about the sissy cakes thing on this show?
- 16:58Speaker 2: Or did I hear that elsewhere? The two pack of
- 17:01Speaker 2: sissy cakes, have you seen that?
- 17:03Speaker 1: Oh, wait, this is something new? Yeah. Oh, no, I
- 17:05Speaker 1: have not. So I guess his mom is now selling
- 17:07Speaker 1: two packs of them.
- 17:09Speaker 4: Really?
- 17:10Speaker 2: And she's got the Will Stein sticker on it with
- 17:12Speaker 2: him putting up his two fingers.
- 17:13Speaker 1: Oh, seriously. I love this. It's pretty cool. She's a
- 17:17Speaker 1: sweet lady. She was so excited when I came in
- 17:20Speaker 1: to get that birthday cake for Corey Price.
- 17:23Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:24Speaker 1: But, yeah, she, I, listen. I'll plug that place as
- 17:28Speaker 1: much as you want me to. And I get nothing
- 17:30Speaker 1: from it. I don't even get a free cake. And
- 17:33Speaker 1: that's okay. I don't want a free cake. Trust me. Please, Ms. Stein.
- 17:36Speaker 1: I do not want anything free. You don't need sugar. No,
- 17:39Speaker 1: I don't want the sugar. You're exactly correct. And, you know,
- 17:43Speaker 1: over the weekend, I had a little bit of sugar.
- 17:45Speaker 1: It made me sick. It did. It was so weird.
- 17:48Speaker 1: It made my stomach hurt. Yeah, that wasn't a good thing.
- 17:52Speaker 2: I'll send you a picture of it if you don't
- 17:54Speaker 2: look at it. I definitely want a picture of that.
- 17:57Speaker 2: Go for two.
- 17:57Speaker 1: The two-finger thing is going to go viral now. I mean,
- 18:01Speaker 1: it's with Will Stein as the cover of the two-finger. Okay, yeah. See,
- 18:07Speaker 1: I like that. Pretty cool, right? Yes. Is that a
- 18:10Speaker 1: blueberry sissy cake? Looks like it, right? I didn't know
- 18:13Speaker 1: they had a blueberry one. Okay, now I want one.
- 18:18Speaker 1: You're a blueberry guy? I love blueberries. Wait, you're not
- 18:20Speaker 1: a blueberry? I knew there was something off with you. What?
- 18:22Speaker 1: I'm not a blueberry guy. Blueberries are so good for you. Oh,
- 18:26Speaker 1: I know that. That's why I don't like them. Really? Okay. See,
- 18:31Speaker 1: the only fruit I do not eat is a banana.
- 18:35Speaker 1: It makes me gag instantly. Cannot eat a banana. And
- 18:39Speaker 1: I was always so bummed about that because I always
- 18:42Speaker 1: loved peeling bananas. There's just something about the seeds in
- 18:46Speaker 1: the blueberries for me. Oh, really? Then you don't like
- 18:48Speaker 1: raspberries or blackberries. No, no. I love those. I do
- 18:52Speaker 1: love wild blackberries.
- 18:54Speaker 2: I would used to go out as a kid and
- 18:56Speaker 2: pick those and just eat them straight off the plant.
- 18:58Speaker 1: Yes. I do like those. But they have seeds in them.
- 19:01Speaker 1: They do. Yeah, they get stuck in your teeth. That
- 19:04Speaker 1: makes no sense to me. I'm a walking contradiction, Michael Bennett. Okay, well.
- 19:08Speaker 1: You know that. Yes, I do. And that's probably why
- 19:11Speaker 1: you're beloved. But anyway. Let's go ahead and take our
- 19:14Speaker 1: first break. 502-384-1450. You want to call in? 502-414-1450. You
- 19:20Speaker 1: want to text in on the Whiskey Thief text line,
- 19:23Speaker 1: or you can tweet me at JustTheCatRadio. What was I
- 19:26Speaker 1: saying on crosstalk with you that I was kind of
- 19:29Speaker 1: close to, I got to be careful with my enunciation?
- 19:33Speaker 1: That I don't know. I don't either. I don't know
- 19:36Speaker 1: what he was referring to. Yeah. So, Jamie, I don't
- 19:38Speaker 1: know what you were talking about. But anyway, I love that. Oh,
- 19:41Speaker 1: probably the Fockers. Oh, that right there. Okay. Okay. Yeah. No, no.
- 19:46Speaker 1: I know to say Focker. Well, see, here's the difference.
- 19:50Speaker 1: I don't use that word. Sure. The bad word. Never
- 19:53Speaker 1: heard you say it. Exactly. And so that's the reason
- 19:57Speaker 1: you'll never catch me saying any kind of thing like that.
- 19:59Speaker 1: But I hell and damn every now and then. Not
- 20:03Speaker 1: not often. I just I don't know. I just never cussed.
- 20:06Speaker 1: I just it's just it's not me. I just sound
- 20:08Speaker 1: stupid if I think I am. If I say something
- 20:11Speaker 1: like that. And they'll say, it'll come out of hell.
- 20:13Speaker 1: I'll do something stupid. But which happens all the time.
- 20:16Speaker 1: So anyway. But yeah, I got in a little bit
- 20:19Speaker 1: of an argument last night with somebody on Twitter. Oh boy. Yeah.
- 20:23Speaker 1: But it was, you know, it was tasteful. It was fine.
- 20:26Speaker 1: We'll talk about that as soon as we get back.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Or maybe we'll get to your text. So stay right there.
- 20:30Speaker 1: More of Just the Cats are coming right up. She
- 20:33Speaker 1: rose over.
- 20:35Speaker 3: Returns to sleep as he looks her over. She lies
- 20:43Speaker 3: and says she's in all the time. Can't find a
- 20:48Speaker 3: better man.
- 20:50Speaker 1: She dreams in cold as she dreams in.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Wow, we are going heavy today. That's your fault. I mean,
- 21:36Speaker 1: it is 8.30 in the morning. Man, we are headbanging
- 21:41Speaker 1: here at the Big X. That's nice. Okay, well, I
- 21:45Speaker 1: got to turn down my headphones right now. 502-384-1450, you
- 21:51Speaker 1: want to call 502-414-1450, as everyone likes to do on
- 21:55Speaker 1: this radio station that listens. But one person said, or
- 21:58Speaker 1: Buzz said, so an Alabama fan's reasoning would put Texas
- 22:03Speaker 1: in the top five because they beat Ohio State, right?
- 22:07Speaker 1: That is a fair point right there. Yes, it would.
- 22:11Speaker 1: Do you think all the criticism that Arch Manning is
- 22:14Speaker 1: getting is deserved? I mean, a little bit, yeah. I
- 22:18Speaker 1: think so, too.
- 22:19Speaker 2: He hasn't been great, but apparently that's motivating him. He
- 22:24Speaker 2: used that to his advantage against Ole Miss.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Yeah, he did. but I, cause I, part of me
- 22:30Speaker 1: agrees with it. I just don't think he's, he's a
- 22:32Speaker 1: good quarterback. How's that?
- 22:34Speaker 2: He's not a great, he's not an elite quarterback. You
- 22:37Speaker 2: know how I've tried to think about this.
- 22:38Speaker 1: All right. So Indiana every year, is going out and
- 22:42Speaker 1: getting a transfer quarterback. Yes. And I've heard the name
- 22:45Speaker 1: Arch Manning floated around with Indiana.
- 22:48Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:48Speaker 2: So I always try, when I'm watching Arch Manning, I
- 22:51Speaker 2: always try to look at it through the lens of
- 22:53Speaker 2: how would I feel if he was a Hoosier and
- 22:55Speaker 2: running Kurt Cignetti's offense.
- 22:56Speaker 1: Yes.
- 22:57Speaker 2: And I just don't know that I want him. I
- 23:00Speaker 2: don't know that I would want to have him.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Up in Bloomington. And see, that wouldn't push the needle
- 23:06Speaker 1: for me if he was considering Kentucky. I look at
- 23:11Speaker 1: where we are now with Kenny Minchie. Kenny Minchie, is
- 23:15Speaker 1: he the best quarterback we've had since when? I would
- 23:23Speaker 1: say yes. I know a number of you out there
- 23:26Speaker 1: listening are going to put up there Will Levis. Will Levis,
- 23:31Speaker 1: he was an okay quarterback. But I look at what
- 23:37Speaker 1: Kenny Minchie has done now. Is he putting up elite numbers?
- 23:41Speaker 4: No.
- 23:42Speaker 1: But you know what he's doing the best? He's not
- 23:44Speaker 1: turning over the ball. That goes a long way. It
- 23:49Speaker 1: does with me. So that's what I look at, and that,
- 23:54Speaker 1: to me, is the most important part. Who are quarterbacks
- 23:58Speaker 1: that could do as good a job? I mean, I
- 24:03Speaker 1: think the last really, really good quarterback we had at
- 24:06Speaker 1: Kentucky was probably Andre Woodson. That's where I'm going. I mean,
- 24:10Speaker 1: before that, I would put in there, obviously, Tim Couch.
- 24:13Speaker 1: Babe Pirelli, I mean, that's before my time, but everybody
- 24:15Speaker 1: tells me Babe Pirelli was one of the greatest. But
- 24:18Speaker 1: Tim Couch, yes. Jared Lorenzen, yes. Um, Derek Ramsey. Yes. Uh,
- 24:26Speaker 1: Terry Wilson, uh, left a little be desired. Yeah. Steven Johnson. Nah,
- 24:33Speaker 1: probably not. Uh, but, but I, I mean, I get that.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Will Levis was, uh, a, a, a pretty good quarterback,
- 24:42Speaker 1: but I mean, I I'm taking Kenny Minchie. There were
- 24:46Speaker 1: times that will Levis would hold onto the ball way
- 24:48Speaker 1: too long. Get sacked. The one thing that Kenny Minchie's
- 24:52Speaker 1: doing really well is getting rid of the ball. As
- 24:55Speaker 1: soon as he sees the play is just dead, he
- 24:58Speaker 1: gets rid of the ball. Now, there have been a
- 24:59Speaker 1: couple times he has gotten sacked. Yeah, sure. Can't do
- 25:01Speaker 1: it perfectly every single time. But I just look at
- 25:05Speaker 1: what Kenny Minchie has done under Will Stein's offensive scheme.
- 25:11Speaker 1: I think he has been the perfect fit. Are there
- 25:14Speaker 1: better quarterbacks out there? Yes. I mean, I think even
- 25:17Speaker 1: Kenny Minchie would admit that. But... With this team, Kenny
- 25:21Speaker 1: Minchie has been the perfect fit. Am I wrong about that?
- 25:25Speaker 2: No, I agree with you a thousand percent. And the
- 25:27Speaker 2: good news is he's got another year, right?
- 25:29Speaker 1: Exactly. So that's the best part. Yeah, here we go. Hugh,
- 25:34Speaker 1: Michael is walking a thin line with the Phonics this morning.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Annunciation is very important right there. Reminds me of Shreddy
- 25:41Speaker 1: Ball's sketch on SNL. Shreddy Ball. Yeah, and there was
- 25:45Speaker 1: another one that they did with the material that you
- 25:48Speaker 1: use to fill in cracks called caulk. There was another.
- 25:53Speaker 1: That was another one that was really funny because sweaty
- 25:57Speaker 1: balls goes up there as one of the funniest bits
- 26:01Speaker 1: on SNL. I agree. Without a doubt. And who's the
- 26:05Speaker 1: actor that was doing that?
- 26:06Speaker 2: Baldwin.
- 26:07Speaker 1: Yeah, Alec Baldwin. That's right. He was funny on SNL
- 26:10Speaker 1: until he just became... A weird guy off camera. I mean,
- 26:15Speaker 1: he's funny on camera, but he's a completely different person.
- 26:17Speaker 1: And he started shooting people. Well, yeah, I wouldn't go
- 26:19Speaker 1: to bring that up. But yeah, you're right. I mean,
- 26:22Speaker 1: but yeah, but that was an accident. Don't you say? Okay.
- 26:27Speaker 1: My goodness. Michael needs to take in Vogue's advice and
- 26:33Speaker 1: free your mind and maybe take Bobby McFerrin's as well.
- 26:38Speaker 1: And don't worry. Be happy. I liked Invoke. I could
- 26:44Speaker 1: not stand that song. No? No. When I get into
- 26:48Speaker 1: a mood where I'm really anxious or bad, bad mood,
- 26:54Speaker 1: there's one song that takes me to a different place.
- 26:58Speaker 1: And it is? It is Bob Marley, Three Little Birds. Okay.
- 27:04Speaker 1: That's the one. When I'm really nervous, that's the song
- 27:08Speaker 1: I start singing to myself. Mine's The Hump.
- 27:10Speaker 4: Oh, it is?
- 27:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Boy, you do love that song.
- 27:13Speaker 4: I do.
- 27:13Speaker 1: But you know it, Three Little Birds. Oh, yeah. It's
- 27:15Speaker 1: the song that- Everybody knows it. How's it go? Three
- 27:19Speaker 1: little birds. Don't worry. No, God. So you got me
- 27:24Speaker 1: messed up now. I know. Don't worry about a thing.
- 27:29Speaker 1: Every little thing's going to be all right. There you go.
- 27:32Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 27:32Speaker 1: Yeah. There you go. And that's what I start singing
- 27:35Speaker 1: to myself is every little thing's going to be all right.
- 27:38Speaker 1: Is that how you sing it, though? Every little thing's
- 27:40Speaker 1: going to be all right. No, you're doing it right.
- 27:42Speaker 1: Don't worry about a thing. You got to say every
- 27:45Speaker 1: little ting.
- 27:46Speaker 3: Oh, ting.
- 27:47Speaker 1: Okay. Okay. Every little ting's going to be all right.
- 27:50Speaker 1: That's how you have to sing. Okay, sorry. Dim's the rules.
- 27:54Speaker 1: Dim's the rules? Okay. I'll say ting and dim, okay?
- 27:58Speaker 1: What up? Michael Bennett, rapper and cool guy, is not
- 28:03Speaker 1: that kind, okay? Maybe Quentin can teach us more Gen Z. Oh, really?
- 28:06Speaker 1: That's where we miss Matt.
- 28:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 28:08Speaker 1: I miss the Matt Childress Gen Z moment. Why is
- 28:14Speaker 1: the Breeders' Cup at Keeneland and not Churchill such a
- 28:16Speaker 1: smaller venue? See, that's a great question. It's because Churchill
- 28:21Speaker 1: Downs doesn't want to have it. When the Breeders' Cup
- 28:23Speaker 1: takes over a racetrack, they get all the money, including concessions. Yes.
- 28:29Speaker 1: It started at Churchill Downs in 1988. The very first
- 28:33Speaker 1: one was at Churchill Downs. Wait, Breeders' Cup didn't start
- 28:36Speaker 1: until 88? Yeah. That's crazy. Yeah. So that's why. So
- 28:41Speaker 1: Churchill Downs and their infinite wisdom, as I will criticize this,
- 28:46Speaker 1: they won't have it. Now, I think they'll have it
- 28:48Speaker 1: sometime soon, but they don't like having it because they
- 28:50Speaker 1: don't make any money. It's like not as if they're
- 28:53Speaker 1: making it. And they don't want to consider all the
- 28:55Speaker 1: other businesses in Louisville that will make money from it.
- 28:59Speaker 1: And it means a lot economically to this city. But
- 29:02Speaker 1: Churchill Downs doesn't want to have it. So anyway, yeah,
- 29:05Speaker 1: don't get me started on that. Spill the tea, Michael,
- 29:07Speaker 1: and lick the cinnamon butter off the rolls. No. Why
- 29:12Speaker 1: are you bringing up cinnamon butter two days in a row? Unacceptable.
- 29:18Speaker 1: I'm taking note right there. John here, winning or losing
- 29:21Speaker 1: against Tennessee will not change anything for me. I believe
- 29:23Speaker 1: the football cats will win, but one loss will not
- 29:27Speaker 1: change the path to making the season truly special. I
- 29:30Speaker 1: believe the football cats are a special team for sure. Listen,
- 29:33Speaker 1: I'm going to tell you right now, John, this has
- 29:35Speaker 1: already been a special season. We don't need to convince
- 29:38Speaker 1: anybody else because when you come in first year, brand
- 29:41Speaker 1: new team, brand new, everything, it's already a special season.
- 29:45Speaker 1: I mean, they have beaten top 10 teams, two of
- 29:48Speaker 1: them this year. Nobody else has done that in the
- 29:52Speaker 1: college football scene. Nobody. Only the University of Kentucky. And
- 29:57Speaker 1: the guy that keeps posting on social media that it
- 30:02Speaker 1: would be different as far as the rankings if UK
- 30:07Speaker 1: was not on the helmet, I could not agree more
- 30:09Speaker 1: with him. Because it would be completely, if it was
- 30:12Speaker 1: Ohio State, if it was Georgia, Notre Dame, any of
- 30:15Speaker 1: these other teams that historically win all the time, they
- 30:18Speaker 1: would be ranked even higher. But since it's UK, it's
- 30:24Speaker 1: because they don't respect UK. And you're right. I don't
- 30:29Speaker 1: even think they respect IU yet. No, I think they
- 30:33Speaker 1: are at the point where they do. You do think that?
- 30:35Speaker 1: I still believe there are a number of people out
- 30:38Speaker 1: there that don't respect and believe IU is that good
- 30:40Speaker 1: of a football team.
- 30:41Speaker 2: I mean, from a fan perspective, yeah, absolutely. But you
- 30:44Speaker 2: think the media has bought in? I think so, for
- 30:46Speaker 2: the most part. And it's because of Cignetti. It's not IU,
- 30:50Speaker 2: it's Cignetti.
- 30:51Speaker 4: Correct.
- 30:51Speaker 2: And as soon as Cignetti leaves, what happens? I'm scared
- 30:55Speaker 2: to think about that.
- 30:56Speaker 1: See, and I think that's yourself telling you that everything
- 31:01Speaker 1: will go back to the way it used to be.
- 31:04Speaker 2: I mean, I don't think there's as many good coaches
- 31:07Speaker 2: as there used to be. I've thought about that a
- 31:10Speaker 2: number of times. When Cignetti does hang it up, who
- 31:13Speaker 2: are you going to go out and get? Granted, that's
- 31:15Speaker 2: probably not for another 10 years, but still, it's not
- 31:19Speaker 2: easy to go out and find a coach like that.
- 31:21Speaker 2: And Kentucky did it. Indiana did it. But when those
- 31:25Speaker 2: guys leave or hang it up, whatever ends up happening,
- 31:29Speaker 2: at that point, what happens with the program in the future?
- 31:32Speaker 1: Well, look at Alabama. Do you have faith in DeBoer?
- 31:35Speaker 1: Not really. Do you think that guy's going to keep
- 31:38Speaker 1: it the way it's been? Because I saw a tweet
- 31:43Speaker 1: a little earlier this morning where he's on the hot
- 31:46Speaker 1: seat at Alabama. If he loses one more game, I
- 31:51Speaker 1: do worry about him. He's not going anywhere. You don't
- 31:54Speaker 1: think so? You don't think they'll fire him?
- 31:56Speaker 2: Their AD this offseason, he spewed the whole, well, we've
- 32:00Speaker 2: got to have loyalty, can't have a rotating door of
- 32:02Speaker 2: coaches coming in and out.
- 32:04Speaker 1: So I think his leash is going to be a
- 32:05Speaker 1: little bit longer than it probably is. Oh, you really
- 32:07Speaker 1: think so? Yeah. Well, they've not done that to coaches
- 32:11Speaker 1: from the past at Alabama. I don't know. They're still
- 32:14Speaker 1: saying that even Shane Beamer's seat is boiling, which surprised me.
- 32:21Speaker 1: I'm not seeing that one anymore. Oh, you're not seeing
- 32:24Speaker 1: him getting fired at all anymore. No, I mean, wins
- 32:26Speaker 1: at Florida and against Tennessee, no. Yeah. Shouldn't be fired
- 32:32Speaker 1: for beating those two teams. Zach texted out, are y'all
- 32:36Speaker 1: doing trivia today? We don't do trivia. We don't do trivia.
- 32:41Speaker 1: That's a different show, Zach.
- 32:43Speaker 2: We do this week in UK athletics and pop culture history.
- 32:48Speaker 1: Yes. But we can do trivia if you want. Let's
- 32:51Speaker 1: come up with a trivia question. I love trivia. So
- 32:53Speaker 1: I do, too. I'm kind of jealous that that other
- 32:56Speaker 1: show has. What is it? KRC has trivia. Kentucky roll call.
- 33:01Speaker 1: They never do any good on it. But really, I
- 33:04Speaker 1: would do good on it. I feel pretty confident I'd
- 33:07Speaker 1: be good at trivia. I'd love that trivial pursuit. One
- 33:10Speaker 1: of my all time favorite games. So anyway, why are
- 33:13Speaker 1: you laughing at that? That was fun. You don't like
- 33:15Speaker 1: Trivia Pursuit? I don't know that I've ever played Trivial. Oh,
- 33:17Speaker 1: you haven't?
- 33:18Speaker 2: I just love how steadfast you are in thinking that
- 33:20Speaker 2: that's my favorite game.
- 33:22Speaker 4: It is.
- 33:22Speaker 1: Well, all right. Maybe that's a stretch. I'm trying to
- 33:25Speaker 1: think what my favorite game would be. I don't know.
- 33:27Speaker 1: Probably the football digital game that we used to play
- 33:30Speaker 1: as kids, which was fun. Yeah. I was just not
- 33:35Speaker 1: a gamer like kids are today. And adults for that fact.
- 33:38Speaker 1: That's because they didn't have them back in the day, Michael. Okay, thanks. Yeah,
- 33:41Speaker 1: we did. We had Atari, okay? We had games. Actually,
- 33:45Speaker 1: Atari is where I got my starting video game. Really? Yeah,
- 33:47Speaker 1: we had Atari, so don't give me crap. Atari was fun.
- 33:50Speaker 1: Atari was fun. I just didn't get into it like
- 33:52Speaker 1: kids do today. So, and I don't know. I don't
- 33:56Speaker 1: think I ever would. I just wanted to play sports.
- 33:58Speaker 1: I didn't want to play games. But, all right, we
- 34:00Speaker 1: got to take another break. Somebody just walked in, so
- 34:03Speaker 1: he'll join us next segment. What's his name again? Oh, yeah. Quinn. Quingeman. Oh,
- 34:09Speaker 1: is that where we're going to? We're going to call
- 34:11Speaker 1: him formally Quingeman. I want to know if his grandfather
- 34:14Speaker 1: listens to the show now because he's on the radio.
- 34:16Speaker 1: So he's a UK fan. I don't know where he
- 34:20Speaker 1: made a mistake with his son and grandkids by letting
- 34:24Speaker 1: them become UofL fans. But we'll talk more about that
- 34:27Speaker 1: when we get back. But, you know, I have the
- 34:30Speaker 1: unis I know that UK should wear and somebody else
- 34:33Speaker 1: tweeted it out. And I think it was phenomenal. We'll
- 34:35Speaker 1: talk about that as soon as we get back. Stay
- 34:37Speaker 1: right there. More of Just the Cats is coming right up.
- 35:37Speaker 1: cannot tell me this would not get a football stadium
- 35:40Speaker 1: going nuts with this going on right here even Quinn
- 35:44Speaker 1: is shaking his head yes good morning Quinn good morning
- 35:47Speaker 1: we'll get back to Metallica in just a minute but
- 35:49Speaker 1: Quinn you getting a little attention right now uh Justin
- 35:52Speaker 1: and I need to have sit down and have a
- 35:54Speaker 1: talk with you yes sir you know this don't you
- 35:56Speaker 1: We're very disappointed in the results of your test from
- 35:59Speaker 1: last week. You just told me what happened in your
- 36:02Speaker 1: quizzes last week, and what did you do? Tell for
- 36:05Speaker 1: everyone to hear out there. I did not do very well. No,
- 36:08Speaker 1: that's not what you did. What did you do? What
- 36:11Speaker 1: was the result of your quiz? I failed. As he
- 36:17Speaker 1: sits over here laughing. But then you did tell me
- 36:20Speaker 1: what else about that test. We have retakes. Well, you
- 36:24Speaker 1: have retakes, but I think you said everyone... Yeah, everyone failed.
- 36:28Speaker 1: So if everyone fails, it's not the students failing, it's
- 36:32Speaker 1: the teacher failing. That's what I look at. Am I wrong? Yes.
- 36:36Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm not going to put any of my teachers
- 36:38Speaker 4: on the hot seat. Oh, I'm putting them on the
- 36:40Speaker 4: hot seat right now. What's this person's name?
- 36:45Speaker 1: Don't do it, Quinn. Don't do it.
- 36:46Speaker 4: There's so many people on the hot seat right now.
- 36:50Speaker 4: I just can't put another on.
- 36:51Speaker 1: Oh, really? Oh, there's so many people. Who else is
- 36:56Speaker 1: on the hot seat? I mean, you're talking teachers, coaches, why?
- 36:59Speaker 1: You're talking about Taylor DeBoer. As soon as I got
- 37:03Speaker 1: into the building today. I think this teacher needs to
- 37:06Speaker 1: be on the boiling seat. I'm just going to tell
- 37:08Speaker 1: you right now. Yeah. What's his name? Oh, it's a she. Oh,
- 37:13Speaker 1: we got it. Oh, she and a he? Yeah, I
- 37:15Speaker 1: failed too. You failed too? Did everybody fail too?
- 37:21Speaker 4: So, the first one in math, there was a couple
- 37:26Speaker 4: people that were in tears.
- 37:27Speaker 1: And the thing was.
- 37:33Speaker 1: There was four pages.
- 37:34Speaker 4: I didn't know that until about one minute left in class.
- 37:37Speaker 2: Right.
- 37:38Speaker 4: So I do my first three pages, and I flip
- 37:40Speaker 4: back to the.
- 37:41Speaker 1: Front of the test.
- 37:41Speaker 4: I'm like looking through my answers, and all the other
- 37:44Speaker 4: people around me are like distraught. And I'm like, you know,
- 37:47Speaker 4: this honestly wasn't that bad. Like I've had a harder test.
- 37:51Speaker 4: And then, so I sit right in front of the
- 37:53Speaker 4: teacher in the front row. I flip to the back page,
- 37:57Speaker 4: and I find the last page. I look up and
- 38:00Speaker 4: she's just staring at me like laughing. She's laughing at you?
- 38:05Speaker 1: You need to call her out. I was like, you?
- 38:08Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. His face is turning red. He was
- 38:13Speaker 1: about to say something bad. I don't understand. How do
- 38:15Speaker 1: you not figure that out, Quinn?
- 38:18Speaker 4: I was just so locked in on the first three
- 38:20Speaker 4: pages that I didn't even think. And the last one
- 38:25Speaker 4: was all word problems too. And she saw that you
- 38:28Speaker 4: hadn't done the last page and she laughed at you.
- 38:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 38:32Speaker 4: She said, we'll talk about it on Monday. And that's
- 38:34Speaker 4: when she, she said we were doing retakes on.
- 38:39Speaker 1: I need to know this lady's name because she's getting
- 38:41Speaker 1: called out for just lack of teaching. Hold on. So
- 38:44Speaker 1: not one person passed.
- 38:47Speaker 4: We haven't gotten the grades back, but I don't believe so. Yeah,
- 38:52Speaker 4: that's on her. So, yeah, I'll find out. She's getting
- 38:56Speaker 4: called out by Michael Bennett.
- 38:57Speaker 1: Way to go, Mrs. Johnson. Yeah, exactly. We're going to
- 39:00Speaker 1: call her Mrs. Johnson, okay?
- 39:02Speaker 4: Yes, sir.
- 39:03Speaker 1: Or should we say Mrs. Robinson? You know that old song. Hello, Mrs. Robinson. Yeah,
- 39:08Speaker 1: that's the Paul Simon song. So it was a movie
- 39:11Speaker 1: back a long time ago. 48 Handley will text me
- 39:13Speaker 1: in just a minute and tell me which movie it was. Anyway,
- 39:17Speaker 1: let's get to Will from South Central. Just wanted to
- 39:21Speaker 1: congratulate Michael on making the latest Steven Peake video. He
- 39:24Speaker 1: reached the big time now, so try to keep him humble, Scoots. Wow,
- 39:29Speaker 1: you were in the video? I have no idea. That's fun.
- 39:33Speaker 1: I don't even know. I don't know. If the texts
- 39:36Speaker 1: are saying it, then you were in the video. Really?
- 39:39Speaker 1: Is that big time, really? Yeah, Peake puts one of
- 39:41Speaker 1: these out every week. Quinn is agreeing with this. Is
- 39:44Speaker 1: Quinn on camera, by the way?
- 39:46Speaker 2: He is.
- 39:46Speaker 1: Okay, good. Steven Peake is big time. Oh, really? Well, listen,
- 39:52Speaker 1: when Nick Roush called me last week and said, hey,
- 39:55Speaker 1: I'm coming to Keeneland, can you help me out? I said, listen,
- 39:58Speaker 1: anybody that's on Paul Feinbaum, you are the elite of elite.
- 40:03Speaker 1: Then he turns around, well, you were on America's Day
- 40:05Speaker 1: at the Races. And I'm like, oh, I forgot about
- 40:08Speaker 1: that crap, man. That's arguably cooler than Feinbaum. Is it really?
- 40:11Speaker 1: You think being on America's Day at the Races on
- 40:15Speaker 1: FS is bigger than being on Paul Feinbaum's?
- 40:18Speaker 2: Yeah, because, I mean, Paul gets, what, 10, 12 guests
- 40:21Speaker 2: every day? America's Day at the races, you get, what,
- 40:25Speaker 2: eight guests a day?
- 40:26Speaker 1: Really?
- 40:27Speaker 4: Okay.
- 40:27Speaker 1: All right. And it's only on certain days of the week? Okay,
- 40:30Speaker 1: fair enough. Yeah. That was big time. All right. I'll
- 40:34Speaker 1: accept it, but I had no idea. So now somebody
- 40:38Speaker 1: has to tell me how to go watch it because
- 40:40Speaker 1: I don't know how to go watch. I told you yesterday. Oh,
- 40:43Speaker 1: you did? Go to Peek's Twitter. He posts it every week. Oh,
- 40:46Speaker 1: he does? Well, it was just a little tidbit. I
- 40:48Speaker 1: did do that, and then it didn't show me, and
- 40:50Speaker 1: I'm like, well, I guess I didn't make it. You
- 40:52Speaker 1: got to click the link. Oh, I do? There's a
- 40:53Speaker 1: link under. But I did click the link, and it
- 40:55Speaker 1: took me to a whole bunch of videos, and I'm like,
- 40:57Speaker 1: I'm not going to go through all these videos. Oh,
- 40:59Speaker 1: my gosh. It's not tough. All right.
- 41:02Speaker 4: Well.
- 41:03Speaker 1: We'll hold your hand. One person texted in, Bob and
- 41:08Speaker 1: Tom had pretty fun. Hold on. Bob and Tom had
- 41:13Speaker 1: pretty funny bit one time. Pinkly Taurus. The women would say,
- 41:20Speaker 1: I love my Pinkly Taurus. Is he trying to get me? Yes. Okay. Well,
- 41:28Speaker 1: I mean, I'm sure that was a Bob and Tom skit. Yeah.
- 41:31Speaker 1: Because they... Man, those guys are edgy. Yeah. They constantly
- 41:37Speaker 1: tow that. Even still, they tow that line. Is that
- 41:39Speaker 1: show still on?
- 41:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 41:40Speaker 1: I didn't realize that. Although, was it one of them passed?
- 41:43Speaker 1: I think Tom. Yeah, I think so. Well, I don't know.
- 41:46Speaker 1: I shouldn't say that. Is it Bob? I think it
- 41:48Speaker 1: was Bob. Okay, yeah. I'm telling you, Ron Clay here,
- 41:52Speaker 1: the local DJ that was on QMF, was a thousand
- 41:55Speaker 1: times funnier. Yeah, and unfortunately. Heard a lot of stories
- 41:57Speaker 1: about Ron Clay. Oh, he was unbelievably funny. Buzz Sexton
- 42:02Speaker 1: in again. Football people talk a lot about handling adversity
- 42:07Speaker 1: and rightfully so. I believe this UK team has proven
- 42:10Speaker 1: it can handle adversity all season. My question is, can
- 42:15Speaker 1: UK handle prosperity? That's a great question. When everyone is
- 42:19Speaker 1: patting them on the back and they are riding high,
- 42:22Speaker 1: how will the players react?
- 42:25Speaker 2: I mean, didn't we get a glimpse of that this
- 42:27Speaker 2: weekend when they went into the game as a favorite
- 42:29Speaker 2: for the first time all season?
- 42:31Speaker 1: Absolutely. And I think they've remained humble, too. And just
- 42:34Speaker 1: the whole Ty Bryant thing. We were talking about the
- 42:37Speaker 1: defensive back saying that he doesn't believe everybody believes in
- 42:41Speaker 1: this team yet. What do you think, Quinn? I mean,
- 42:43Speaker 1: you're outside looking in, not as a UK fan, and
- 42:47Speaker 1: I believe that your perspective is pretty unbiased. What do
- 42:51Speaker 1: you think? Do you think this team can handle prosperity?
- 42:58Speaker 1: Here's what I'll say. There is definitely... The kid that
- 43:01Speaker 1: just flunked two tests.
- 43:04Speaker 4: There is some four big tests coming up for the Cats. Now,
- 43:09Speaker 4: hopefully for the people of uh, just the cats. They
- 43:13Speaker 4: perform better than I did on my two quizzes this
- 43:16Speaker 4: past week. But with that being said, we have some
- 43:19Speaker 4: big quizzes coming up. They're going to have to go
- 43:21Speaker 4: to this guy. They're going to have to go to
- 43:26Speaker 4: Neyland and then they're going to play Florida. Who's either
- 43:28Speaker 4: the best team in the country or the worst team
- 43:30Speaker 4: in the country, depending on the day. And then Louisville,
- 43:32Speaker 4: whose defense is about as good as my little cousin's
- 43:36Speaker 4: third and fourth grade team, but then has an offense
- 43:39Speaker 4: that could thrive. So it's a day-to-day thing, and we'll see.
- 43:43Speaker 4: I'm sure they'll be favored against Louisville. They'll probably be
- 43:47Speaker 4: favored against Florida. The other two on the road, I think,
- 43:50Speaker 4: are a little shaky, but... I think they're good. I
- 43:53Speaker 4: think they play a reliable style of football. You know, defense, defense, defense.
- 43:58Speaker 4: That's going to win championships. I, myself, am a Seahawks fan.
- 44:01Speaker 4: Offense kind of struggles, but as long as your defense
- 44:03Speaker 4: keeps you in games, and we've seen that with Michigan, too,
- 44:05Speaker 4: where they took, you know... scoots his Hoosiers down to
- 44:08Speaker 4: the wire this past week.
- 44:10Speaker 1: Well, that's the one thing where I've gotten more confidence
- 44:13Speaker 1: and I felt like that was the big question mark
- 44:16Speaker 1: for me with UK this year was the defense. Now
- 44:19Speaker 1: I look at this and I've got all the confidence
- 44:21Speaker 1: in the world with UK's defense. I'll ask you this
- 44:24Speaker 1: question before we take a hard break. Justin, who do
- 44:27Speaker 1: you think the top offense is that we're now going
- 44:30Speaker 1: to see? Is it going to be Tennessee, Florida, Missouri,
- 44:35Speaker 1: or UofL? I'd say Florida. Oh, really? You'd say Florida? Okay.
- 44:40Speaker 1: What do you think, Quinn?
- 44:41Speaker 4: I'm with Scoots here. Are you? I really love Jaden Ball.
- 44:44Speaker 1: Yeah, Jaden Ball is awesome.
- 44:45Speaker 4: And depending on who plays quarterback for Florida, their backup,
- 44:50Speaker 4: I like more than Aaron Filo. I think he opens
- 44:53Speaker 4: up a different dynamic to the Florida offense. They open
- 44:56Speaker 4: up read options. He can still throw it. They have
- 44:59Speaker 4: playmakers all over the field. And, you know, Jaden Ball
- 45:03Speaker 4: and that whole Florida running back room, like Jaden Ball
- 45:05Speaker 4: brings the power, and then they have some backups with
- 45:07Speaker 4: some real speed and one cut ability.
- 45:09Speaker 1: Yeah, and Tennessee's quarterback, who is it, Faison Brandon? Is
- 45:13Speaker 1: that right? Sounds right. I think it is. Brandon Faison? Oh,
- 45:17Speaker 1: Brandon Faison. I'm sorry. He's been inconsistent, hasn't he? Oh,
- 45:24Speaker 1: that's the freshman quarterback. Yeah, that's him. It is Faison Brandon. Yeah,
- 45:28Speaker 1: it is Faison Brandon. Okay, I thought it was, but
- 45:32Speaker 1: he's been a little inconsistent. Is that fair to say?
- 45:37Speaker 1: And so that's, I'm probably going to agree with y'all.
- 45:39Speaker 1: And to me, no offense, Quinn, UofL's, Offense doesn't worry
- 45:46Speaker 1: me at all with UK's defense. I think UK's defense
- 45:50Speaker 1: has proven they can handle that offense because they've seen
- 45:54Speaker 1: better offenses out there this year, especially with LSU right there.
- 45:59Speaker 1: But anyway, all right, we've got hour two coming up.
- 46:01Speaker 1: We'll get back to your text as soon as we
- 46:02Speaker 1: get back. Stay right there. Just the Cats is coming
- 46:05Speaker 1: right up. We'll be.
- 46:10Speaker 3: Right back.
- 46:25Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett. Here we go.
- 46:31Speaker 1: Here we go. Well, exactly. He wants to know, you know,
- 46:35Speaker 1: Corey P from TV is here. And he wants to
- 46:39Speaker 1: know why Quinn is flunking his test over here. So
- 46:43Speaker 1: we got some tutoring sessions going on. But I'm here
- 46:46Speaker 1: to tell you, here's the problem, Corey P, is that
- 46:50Speaker 1: everybody flunked the quiz. Therefore, the teacher flunked the class. Uh, sure.
- 46:58Speaker 1: I'm telling the teacher. You can say that. Yeah. Well,
- 47:00Speaker 1: I'm saying it. I want her name. I want this
- 47:03Speaker 1: lady's name. We got it. Mrs. Johnson. No, it's Mrs. Robinson.
- 47:06Speaker 1: Docs her, please. Docs her. Docs her? I don't get it.
- 47:10Speaker 5: Isn't like doxing like when you give out info people?
- 47:12Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 47:13Speaker 1: Oh, is that what he did? When is that a
- 47:15Speaker 1: Gen Z word? She knows I would be kidding, don't you?
- 47:18Speaker 1: Or does she? Does she think I would be kidding? Oh, yeah.
- 47:22Speaker 4: Okay.
- 47:22Speaker 1: Okay. All right, are you going to tell her that
- 47:24Speaker 1: we were talking about her on the radio today? Nope.
- 47:26Speaker 5: Did you ask what film Mrs. Robinson's from? Or no,
- 47:33Speaker 5: did you say that.
- 47:34Speaker 1: In the first hour? I did not say what film
- 47:36Speaker 1: it was. Wow, that means Corey was listening. It's The Graduate.
- 47:39Speaker 1: That's it! And who was the... Dustin Hoffman. Dustin Hoffman,
- 47:43Speaker 1: very good. So, yeah. And they made a sequel years later. Oh, really?
- 47:49Speaker 1: Of The Graduate, yeah. Was it the post-Graduate? Good one. Yeah. Okay, boy.
- 47:57Speaker 1: Jokes just keep hitting. All right, then. It's Tuesday, Quinn.
- 48:01Speaker 1: You know what that means, don't you?
- 48:02Speaker 3: Yep.
- 48:06Speaker 1: I love how he says that with confidence. Corey P.
- 48:17Speaker 1: from TV, you made your second debut yesterday. It was
- 48:21Speaker 1: a good one, Corey. My second debut? Exactly. It was
- 48:24Speaker 1: your second debut. Is that an oxymoron? It is. It's
- 48:28Speaker 1: purely a moron. I was not saying that. Yeah. People
- 48:33Speaker 1: don't like my take on one particular thing, and we'll
- 48:35Speaker 1: talk about that in a minute. I had Justin play
- 48:38Speaker 1: Metallica a little bit ago, and I completely forgot the
- 48:42Speaker 1: entire reason why I did it. But Corey P. from TV,
- 48:46Speaker 1: you made your second debut. Yes, absolutely, yesterday. Unfortunately, well,
- 48:52Speaker 1: I mean, it was only voice only. You didn't get
- 48:54Speaker 1: your beautiful face on the screen. People were dying. Did
- 48:57Speaker 1: they have a picture of you on? Yes. Oh, they did. Okay, good.
- 49:00Speaker 1: Thanks for watching. I know. I haven't seen it yet.
- 49:03Speaker 5: I know people were dying to see my... Monday morning face,
- 49:06Speaker 5: but sadly they didn't see it.
- 49:07Speaker 1: Was it a good picture? It was a great picture.
- 49:10Speaker 1: I think it's my– I've got to go back and
- 49:11Speaker 1: look at this. It might be my Facebook picture. I
- 49:13Speaker 1: don't know.
- 49:13Speaker 5: But their Zoom wasn't working, so that's why it was
- 49:19Speaker 5: just phones.
- 49:20Speaker 1: Livid over that. I mean.
- 49:21Speaker 5: I mean, this looks like you're... Oh, okay. That's from like...
- 49:25Speaker 5: That picture's from like 2022.
- 49:27Speaker 1: Is it really?
- 49:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 49:27Speaker 1: That's a little old. Yeah. If you haven't seen it yet,
- 49:30Speaker 1: just go to CoreyPfromTV at Twitter.com.
- 49:34Speaker 5: That's not my name on Twitter, but okay.
- 49:36Speaker 1: But it should be. That's what we're going with now. Wow, yeah.
- 49:40Speaker 1: It looks like your college ID from UK is what
- 49:43Speaker 1: it looks like.
- 49:44Speaker 5: Well, that's about 14 years post-college, so.
- 49:47Speaker 1: Yeah. You need to send it.
- 49:49Speaker 5: And how would you know what my college ID would
- 49:51Speaker 5: look like?
- 49:52Speaker 1: I'm just guessing. It just looks like a University of
- 49:55Speaker 1: Kentucky college ID right there. Well, there's trees in the background,
- 49:58Speaker 1: so I doubt that that would be a college ID. Really? Okay, yeah.
- 50:02Speaker 1: It'd be in your background. Did you even look at
- 50:04Speaker 1: the picture? Yes, I did. I just looked at it.
- 50:07Speaker 1: I was making sure. Yeah, of course. I pay attention
- 50:09Speaker 1: to everything you do. Everything you say just goes right
- 50:12Speaker 1: in my ear. Just and out the other way. As
- 50:17Speaker 1: you make fun of me constantly.
- 50:22Speaker 5: You quote multitask while I'm doing this.
- 50:26Speaker 1: No, no, it's fine. No, no, no, no. I want
- 50:30Speaker 1: Corey P. from TV to have my full and undivided attention.
- 50:35Speaker 1: Just like his math teacher had. Exactly. Wow. Shots fired. Wow,
- 50:41Speaker 1: it's her fault. I mean, if the entire class flunks,
- 50:44Speaker 1: it's her fault. I mean, maybe. No, there's no maybe
- 50:49Speaker 1: about it. It's her fault.
- 50:51Speaker 5: Always put the blame on the teacher, right?
- 50:54Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 50:55Speaker 5: Dave Quincy shaking his head yes. Never the student's fault
- 50:58Speaker 5: for failing.
- 50:59Speaker 1: No, not at all. Not when the entire class flunks. Now,
- 51:02Speaker 1: if it's one or two students, that's different. All right,
- 51:05Speaker 1: Corey P. I need to know what they're doing in
- 51:06Speaker 1: this class. Corey might be showing up to class with you.
- 51:11Speaker 1: I did get my... His bus comes around 2 o'clock.
- 51:13Speaker 1: My degree in mathematics. You did? Oh, boy. Why does
- 51:17Speaker 1: that not surprise me? Yeah. I flunked statistics, by the way.
- 51:20Speaker 1: I flunked algebra. I flunked... Math is not my subject.
- 51:24Speaker 1: Horse racing is. Yes. I would say so.
- 51:28Speaker 5: If only they had horse racing classes in the UK.
- 51:31Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 51:31Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 51:33Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 51:33Speaker 5: All right, what's going on this week in Kentucky history?
- 51:37Speaker 5: October 25th through the 31st. This is one I think
- 51:41Speaker 5: we've all been waiting on. October 25th, 1978. The horror
- 51:46Speaker 5: film Halloween is released. The best horror film ever, in
- 51:51Speaker 5: my humble opinion.
- 51:52Speaker 2: Is it really?
- 51:53Speaker 1: Okay. I think it is. Okay.
- 51:56Speaker 5: Directed by John Carpenter. It stars Nick Castle, Jamie Lee Curtis,
- 52:00Speaker 5: Charles Cyphers, Nancy Loomis. Donald Pleasence, and P.J.
- 52:04Speaker 1: Souls.
- 52:06Speaker 5: The film grossed approximately $ 47. 2 million domestically, making it the
- 52:11Speaker 5: 10th highest-correction film of 1978. In 2017, Complex Magazine named
- 52:18Speaker 5: the film the best slasher movie of all time.
- 52:21Speaker 1: Best slasher movie?
- 52:23Speaker 4: Yes.
- 52:23Speaker 1: What does that mean?
- 52:25Speaker 5: It's a horror genre where you kill people.
- 52:29Speaker 1: Honestly, I didn't realize that. Interesting. Interesting. Okay.
- 52:32Speaker 5: And the laptop opens up. We were one movie in.
- 52:36Speaker 5: And Michael's like, I am done with this.

- 55:16Speaker 6: A 957 or, yeah, my all-time favorite Porsche, by the way.
- 55:22Speaker 6: It's called a Bathtub. Because it looks similar to a bathtub.

- 55:54Speaker 1: Hey, that was today.
- 55:55Speaker 5: Maybe your most famous picture ever.
- 55:58Speaker 1: Oh, that's right. I forgot about that.
- 56:00Speaker 5: You and Stoops, and you got a big smile on
- 56:02Speaker 5: your face.
- 56:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 56:04Speaker 1: Yeah, that's right, Scoots. What'd you say? I missed it.
- 56:08Speaker 1: I said that was today.
- 56:09Speaker 4: Today.
- 56:10Speaker 1: Oh, is that today?
- 56:11Speaker 3: Really?
- 56:12Speaker 5: It's the only time the UK has won back-to-back games
- 56:15Speaker 5: in Columbia against Missouri. Of course, UK scored a two-yard
- 56:19Speaker 5: touchdown pass from Terry Wilson to CJ Conrad on the
- 56:21Speaker 5: final play of the game. It's the first time that
- 56:23Speaker 5: UK scored a touchdown on the final play of the
- 56:25Speaker 5: game to win since 1971 at Vanderbilt. The Wildcats were
- 56:30Speaker 5: on offense by Lynn Bowden's 13 catches for 166 yards

- 56:39Speaker 1: Hasn't that passed yet?
- 56:40Speaker 3: No.
- 56:41Speaker 1: It hasn't?
- 56:42Speaker 4: Quinn, do they still say 6-7? That's what I was
- 56:45Speaker 4: saying after my test the other day.
- 56:48Speaker 5: He got six or seven correct.
- 56:53Speaker 1: He's right. That was a good one, Quinn. Well done, Quinn.
- 56:59Speaker 5: What do you recall from the game, Michael?
- 57:03Speaker 1: From the Missouri game? Yeah. Oh, the clock was off
- 57:08Speaker 1: and Terry Wilson threw it to CJ Conrad. And then
- 57:12Speaker 1: I recall Mitch Barnhart on the sidelines yelling, screaming like
- 57:17Speaker 1: a little girl. And then I'm running out to the
- 57:19Speaker 1: field and everyone swears I ran straight to Stoops. It
- 57:23Speaker 1: was the other way around. He ran straight to me.
- 57:25Speaker 1: Which was funny. Yeah, yeah. So, anyway. Humble brag is
- 57:28Speaker 1: what it sounds like. No, it's just a fact. I mean,
- 57:33Speaker 1: it sounds like a brag, but that is a fact. So, yeah.
- 57:36Speaker 1: That was the week that John Wong wrote a nice
- 57:39Speaker 1: article about me that kind of went crazy. And Mark
- 57:42Speaker 1: Stoops read it and came over to me before the
- 57:44Speaker 1: game and talked to me about it. Was it a
- 57:46Speaker 1: Wong article?
- 57:47Speaker 6: Oh, boy.
- 57:48Speaker 2: Whoa.
- 57:49Speaker 1: That was John Wong long. Yes, it was. What should
- 57:54Speaker 1: I remember about it? Is there anything else I should remember?
- 57:56Speaker 4: No.
- 57:56Speaker 5: On Quinn's quiz, he got 27 questions wrong as well.
- 57:59Speaker 1: Oh, boy. That's a trace. Wow.
- 58:01Speaker 4: These are getting worse.
- 58:04Speaker 5: Welcome to radio, Quinn. Welcome to radio.
- 58:10Speaker 1: Poor John Wong. He's probably not even listening and doesn't
- 58:13Speaker 1: even know he's being made fun of.
- 58:15Speaker 4: What?
- 58:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 58:16Speaker 5: October 28th, 1941.
- 58:19Speaker 1: Corey, I've never heard you like this before. I'm loving
- 58:22Speaker 1: every second of it.
- 58:23Speaker 5: I love math, so I'm a little disappointed that Quinn
- 58:28Speaker 5: didn't do well on his quiz.
- 58:30Speaker 1: Justin, I'm not kidding. Is this really bothering Corey about
- 58:34Speaker 1: Quinn talking? I love math. I'm sorry. I guarantee it's
- 58:37Speaker 1: bothering him. Jimmy Buffett wrote the greatest song ever, Math Sucks. Well,
- 58:41Speaker 1: that's a terrible song. No, it's awesome. I love the song.
- 58:44Speaker 5: Go ahead, Corey. October 28, 1941. The drama film How
- 58:49Speaker 5: Green Was My Valley.
- 58:50Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh. It's in theaters. That sounds like a
- 58:53Speaker 1: great movie. Why are we even bringing this one up? Wow.
- 58:59Speaker 5: Get on your laptop, Michael Bennett. I guess there are
- 59:03Speaker 5: times I don't want you to listen. Directed by John Ford.
- 59:10Speaker 5: Stars Donald Crisp, Anna Lee, Rodney McDowell, Maureen O'Hara, and
- 59:17Speaker 5: Walter Pigeon.
- 59:19Speaker 1: Oh, boy.
- 59:20Speaker 5: Big actors there. Rodney McDowell, you know who he is,
- 59:24Speaker 5: don't you? Maureen O'Hara's pretty big.
- 59:26Speaker 1: Oh, really? Yeah. Who? Rodney McDowell. Roddy McDowell. Yeah, right.
- 59:32Speaker 1: He was famous. That's great. Yeah.
- 59:34Speaker 5: That's why I haven't mentioned. Film grossed approximately $ 2. 4 million domestically,
- 59:41Speaker 5: making it the fourth highest grossing film of 1941. And

- 59:45Speaker 5: nominated for 10 Academy Awards and won five.
- 59:48Speaker 1: Oh, well.
- 59:49Speaker 5: Best cinematography, best director, best picture, best production design, and
- 59:56Speaker 5: best supporting actor.
- 59:56Speaker 1: That's 50%. Suck it. If only Quinn could do that.
- 1:00:01Speaker 5: I knew it was coming.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: I knew it was coming. The awkward silence. I knew
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: it was coming. I think we're the only ones listening
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: to this show right now.
- 1:00:13Speaker 4: What?
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: And we're the only ones enjoying it. All right. That's
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: what matters to me. Exactly. October 28th, 2017.
- 1:00:19Speaker 5: UK football defeats Tennessee 29-26 at Kroger Field. This is
- 1:00:24Speaker 5: UK's second win against Tennessee since 1985, which is the
- 1:00:26Speaker 5: year I was born, by the way.
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: They won in 2011. I was a freshman at UK.
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: I was just born.
- 1:00:34Speaker 5: UK got the game-winning score on an 11-yard touchdown run
- 1:00:37Speaker 5: by Steven Johnson with 33 seconds left. The Wildcats were

- 1:00:43Speaker 5: yards and three rushing touchdowns.
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: Fun game. It was a fun game. Steven Johnson dove

- 1:01:06Speaker 1: bowl game, not in regular season.
- 1:01:08Speaker 5: 07 Music City. And they played five times between 60
- 1:01:13Speaker 5: and 65.
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: Oh, they did? Yeah. On regular season, but never played
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: them again? Nope. Okay.
- 1:01:19Speaker 5: UK forced Florida State into six turnovers, four receptions and
- 1:01:22Speaker 5: two fumbles. And Tom Hutchinson scored a touchdown on both
- 1:01:26Speaker 5: offense and defense. A 37-yard catch and a 10-yard pick-six.
- 1:01:31Speaker 5: Don't see a lot of guys playing both leagues these days.
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: Not at all.
- 1:01:36Speaker 5: October 29, 2004, the horror film Saw is released. Were
- 1:01:41Speaker 5: you a big Saw guy? Never saw any of them.
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: They're okay. Never saw them? I know. I never saw
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: them at all.
- 1:01:47Speaker 4: No.
- 1:01:48Speaker 5: Looks like Quinn didn't see his quiz either.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: Wow! Now we're getting below the belt.
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: Y'all know what I'm going to do on Thursday when
- 1:01:57Speaker 4: I walk in there? I'm going to do the Will
- 1:01:59Speaker 4: Stein second attempt.
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: That's right. That's right.
- 1:02:02Speaker 4: Two.
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: That's right. Going over two. Yeah. Let's do it this way.
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: There you go. That's how you tell the teacher. Yeah,
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: because you know that means up you.
- 1:02:13Speaker 5: I got two right last time. Directed by James Wan
- 1:02:17Speaker 5: and his debut as a director. Starred Tobin Bell, Cary,
- 1:02:22Speaker 5: what's the last name?
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: Ewells? Cary Ewells? I have no idea. E-L-W-E-S. Okay.

- 1:03:18Speaker 1: Whoa. Wow. In the first quarter. That's bad play. Yeah,
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: it was.
- 1:03:23Speaker 5: And the Wildcats rushed for 307 yards.
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh. To lead the ground attack. I think
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: Michael's seen this.
- 1:03:30Speaker 5: October 30th, 1978, the WKRP in Cincinnati sitcom airs the
- 1:03:36Speaker 5: episode Turkeys Away on TV.
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: That is undoubtedly the funniest episode of any TV ever invented,
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: without a doubt. That, to me, was my favorite TV show,
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: number one. But number two, that was the funniest episode
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: of any episode of any comedic TV show ever. That's
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: how I pray. Yes. As God is my witness, I
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: thought turkeys could fly. You stole. Oh, I'm so sorry. Oh,
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 1:04:04Speaker 5: Directed by Michael Zenberg. It starred Lonnie Anderson, Frank Bonner,

- 1:04:33Speaker 5: really thought that turkeys could fly.
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: Turkeys can fly. They can fly. Wild turkeys can. Just
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: a little bit, though. Isn't that a bourbon, wild turkey? No,
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: it's not a bourbon, wild turkey. It's a bourbon. Wild
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: turkey is a bourbon. Yeah, it's a bourbon. Is it really?
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: Wild turkey? I mean, I don't drink. It's called bourbon?
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: It's bourbon. It's bourbon.
- 1:04:57Speaker 4: Oh.
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: Michael, what are you doing? Oh, okay. I didn't. Are
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: you listening? You ever heard of Wild Turkey? Is this mic.
- 1:05:04Speaker 4: On?
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: In 2009. My ears are off. What?
- 1:05:07Speaker 5: In 2009, TV Guide ranked episode number 65 on the
- 1:05:09Speaker 5: list of the 100 greatest episodes of all time.
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: But for you, it's. It's number one. You said 65

- 1:05:16Speaker 4: Yep.
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: October 31st, 1953. Number 19, UK Football, the Feast. Number 12, Rice.

- 1:05:27Speaker 2: Wow, they were playing a Notre Dame schedule?
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: They were ranked 12th. You're converting over to Michael Bennett there.
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: I just want you to know, Justin.
- 1:05:36Speaker 5: First ever meeting between the U.K.
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: And Rice.
- 1:05:39Speaker 5: First time the U.K. defeated a ranked non-commerce opponent in a.
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: True road game. And U.K.
- 1:05:45Speaker 5: Held Rice to just 31 yards passing on four completions.
- 1:05:49Speaker 5: Last one, October 31st, 2010, the horror drama series The

- 1:06:24Speaker 5: the show was nominated for 17 Primetime Emmy Awards Winning two,
- 1:06:29Speaker 5: both for Asenian Makeup in 2011 and 2012.
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: Hmm. Okay, so are y'all Walking Dead fans? It was okay.
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: I am not. Is it still on, by the way?
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: I don't think so. I think it... It has been canceled?
- 1:06:42Speaker 5: I think in 2021, 2022.
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: It did? Okay, yeah. It just kind of overlived its life, so...
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: It was good the first couple of two or three weeks.
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: They are dead, so they did overlive it. Yeah, exactly right, but...
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: I mean, it just kind of, sometimes things just go
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: a little too long. That one definitely did. So, by
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: the way, I don't know if you saw this. I
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: know you're a fan of Kingpin, right? Greatest sports comedy ever.
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: I agree. Justin, you're a fan of Kingpin. Quinn, have
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: you ever seen the movie Kingpin? No, sir. You need
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: to go see it. You do. Do you realize the
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: Farrelly brothers are coming out with a sequel 30 years later?
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: Stop it. I am not joking. They just made the
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: announcement today. Hell yeah. Well, it depends. You got to
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: be careful with that. If Woody Harrelson is back in
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: this movie, if Bill Murray comes back in this movie,
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: I'm all about it. Quaid too. Exactly. Yeah. Randy Quaid.
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: I forgot that. Randy Quaid as well. I am all
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: about it. I'm a little nervous about it, but the
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: Farrelly brothers are hilarious. Yeah.
- 1:07:50Speaker 5: I'm a little, I mean, Al, Of course, I'll probably
- 1:07:53Speaker 5: see it, but I am a little hesitant to wait
- 1:07:55Speaker 5: this long to have a remake.
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: 30 years later. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: how that's going to turn out. I mean, Whiteman Can't Jump,
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: the remake, was okay. It wasn't as good as the original,
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: but it was okay.
- 1:08:05Speaker 5: I did not see it, although I know it stars
- 1:08:07Speaker 5: Jack Harlow, but I didn't see it.
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: The Ocean series, were they good as far as going
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: on the way they did? Because I thought the second
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: one was good. Ocean's 12. I've never seen the Oceans. Oh,
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: you've never seen the ocean movies? Really? I've never seen
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: the ocean. I'm not even going to bother with that, Justin. Wait,
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: you've never seen the ocean?
- 1:08:27Speaker 5: No, I'm joking. I've seen the Atlantic. I haven't seen
- 1:08:30Speaker 5: the Pacific.
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: Oh, have you not?
- 1:08:32Speaker 4: No.
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: Oh, okay. It looks just like it.
- 1:08:35Speaker 4: Oh, okay.
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: Thanks. I guess I don't have to go then. Have
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: you seen the West Coast? No, sir. You have not. Justin,
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: have you seen the West Coast?
- 1:08:44Speaker 3: Really?
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: All three of you? Oh, my.
- 1:08:47Speaker 5: First west I've been is probably New Mexico or Colorado.
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: That's right. You just came back from New Mexico a
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: week ago. I think Vegas for the West. Has it really? Okay.
- 1:08:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: I mean, it's fine. Where have you been on the
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: West Coast? All over. His son went to Pepperdine.
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: Malibu, right? Yeah, Malibu. I've been to L.A. Is that
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: the greatest college campus? I think it's the prettiest in
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: the world. Yeah. Yeah, without a doubt. It's just amazing.
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: When we checked him in his freshman year, his dorm
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: room overlooked the Pacific Ocean. It's like, this is not fair.
- 1:09:24Speaker 5: How many kids take tours of the campus knowing that
- 1:09:27Speaker 5: they're never going to go there?
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: Probably a lot. Yeah, and you know a lot of
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: celebrities go there and work out too. So it wasn't
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: unusual to be out there running around campus and here
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: comes some big celebrity. Because nobody bothers them. And you've
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: got to get through a gate to get up there, too.
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: It's fancy. Yeah, it's fancy. It's a fancy price tag, too,
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: on top of it all. No, I've been all over
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: the West Coast. I mean, it's not my favorite. San
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: Diego is my favorite, though. As opposed to Mexico? Is
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: that why? Yeah. Why would I? No. San Diego is
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: amazingly beautiful.
- 1:10:01Speaker 5: You might do some things that are good in Mexico,
- 1:10:04Speaker 5: I guess.
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: I don't know. Tacos. Yeah, tacos. That's exactly it. Good tacos, right?
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: That's where Taco Bell was founded. In Mexico? Yeah, of course.
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: It's south of the border. It has to be from Mexico.
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: You run for the border. Oh, okay. Well, I run
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: for the border, too. Anyway, all right, Corey, how did
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: you feel about last weekend?
- 1:10:23Speaker 5: I felt I was a little nervous at first because
- 1:10:26Speaker 5: we were down 10-0 quick and kind of thought maybe
- 1:10:29Speaker 5: being the favorite may have gotten us this time, but
- 1:10:32Speaker 5: I think scored on six straight drives on offense, so
- 1:10:36Speaker 5: they found a way to make it happen.
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: First-year drives were pretty terrible. 3-3 now.
- 1:10:40Speaker 5: So, once again, Stein and Sloan find.
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: A way to score. Yeah, they do.
- 1:10:45Speaker 5: And defense picked it up. They picked off another pass.
- 1:10:51Speaker 5: I mean, Ty Bryant and Jordan Castell are amazing this year.
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: We get a much-needed break this weekend, too, which is good.
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: And so, next Tuesday, we'll talk about the bye week.
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: Getting ready for those filthy balls. Exactly. University of Tennessee.
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: Nothing sucks like a big orange. I couldn't agree more
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: with you. Always fun having you here, Corey. It's always fun.
- 1:11:13Speaker 5: Quinn, please do better on your second attempt.
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: Don't do-do. Just do-do better. Do-do better. Yeah, please. Okay.
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: All right, then. We're going to take a break. Corey Price,
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: we'll see you next week. All right, my friend? Yes, sir.
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: This is Just the Cat. Stay right there. Two more
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: segments coming up, all right? We'll get back to your
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: text messages as well. And we got to talk about
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: this whole Will Stein, what he said yesterday. And Metallica.
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: About Metallica. Because he did talk Metallica.
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: Metallica.
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: All right, so yesterday, Will Stein made a comment, which
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: made me raise my eyebrows and say, ooh, that's kind
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: of interesting. Let's see what happens. So if you didn't
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: see it, Will Stein was talking about a particular song
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: that is being played now. You know, the one we
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: played yesterday by that Tyler Childress. And he said, yeah.
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: He likes that song, but when it's being played, he's
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: thinking more Metallica in his head. Trying to run and
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: finish the ball and finish this off. So is that his,
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: because here's how I took it, and I want to
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: see if you both think the same thing. So he
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: made the comment that it's a nice song, but in
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: his mind, Metallica is playing. Is that his nice way
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: of saying, I would rather have Metallica being played? I
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: think that's his way of saying he's not a Tyler
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: Childers fan. See, that too. I think that exactly. And
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: that he doesn't like the song and he would rather
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: have Metallica playing in the stadium. What do you think, Quinn?
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: The one we played? Huh?
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: What song, though? He didn't say a particular song. Well,
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: give us some ideas, Coach. Well, see, that's what I think.
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: He didn't expand.
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: I should stay after the next game and ask him, okay,
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: what song would you like played? If they beat Tennessee
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: and we're close to beating Florida, maybe we're down three points,
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: maybe we're up three points or something like that, and
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: a big play's getting ready to happen between the third
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: and fourth quarter, you mean you want to hear that
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: song from that other singer? That's a good point. You
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: would rather not have it? Because, yes, I agree that
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: everybody gets into, and it's kind of cool, that when
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: they turn the volume down and everybody's singing that song,
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: It's nice, but the energy level just leaves the stadium
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: when that song ends. If you're playing something like a
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: Metallica song, the energy level remains up. Am I wrong
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: about that, Justin? No. Okay, so everybody's kind of criticizing
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: me because I've spoken out about this. Oh, I get
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: a clown face. Oh, Michael. It's like, what are you
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: talking about? Am I wrong about this, Quinn? You're completely
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: unbiased from this. I don't think you're wrong.
- 1:14:42Speaker 4: I saw your tweet yesterday about it. It makes sense.
- 1:14:46Speaker 4: I'm not going to lie. Like I've been to some
- 1:14:48Speaker 4: Louisville games where it's like, just crap is happening in
- 1:14:51Speaker 4: the third quarter.
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: It's going bad. Yes.
- 1:14:54Speaker 4: And then like Joker and the thief comes on and
- 1:14:56Speaker 4: everybody's back into it. Like it's kind of like a,
- 1:14:59Speaker 4: like you're getting baptized and you're resetting again. Right. I think, Yeah,
- 1:15:03Speaker 4: you mentioned a good point. If you're up three, down
- 1:15:06Speaker 4: three against Florida and that comes on, I don't think
- 1:15:08Speaker 4: that's what you want.
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: Even though it is really cool. Oh, it's very cool.
- 1:15:12Speaker 4: It's kind of the same with Michigan talking about his
- 1:15:15Speaker 4: girlfriend's cheating on him and is about to do some
- 1:15:19Speaker 4: interesting stuff with the other guy between the third and
- 1:15:22Speaker 4: fourth quarter.
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: It just doesn't make sense. No, it doesn't. Here's what
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: they need to do. Do it at halftime or something.
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: Play it then when the band is done or play
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: it after the game is over. Make it a tradition.
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: When the game is over, UK wins, you sing that song.
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: I like that. I have no issue with that whatsoever.
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: If they want to continue to do that, great. Don't
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: do it at a critical time when UK needs the
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: crowd to be in this game and you're playing this
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: depressing song. That, granted, I'll fully and readily admit, I
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: don't like the song. I think it's a dumb song.
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: But people like it. I know I'm in the minority.
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: Would you rather have Afro Man? He's from Kentucky.
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: I mean, if we're going down the road of artists
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: from Kentucky, might as well throw out from there.
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: Why not have J.D. Shelburne one of his upbeat songs?
- 1:16:13Speaker 4: Sure.
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: Why not have one of those? Straight from Kentucky. Exactly.
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: I think that song is great. That's very energetic. Straight
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: from Kentucky. That has meaning for Kentucky fans and for Kentucky.
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: Why can't we play something like that? Instead, we got
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: to play this song that's depressing. I don't get it.
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: I really don't. You can criticize me out there all
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: you want, but it just, yes, everybody's into it, but
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: the energy level just plummets after the song is over.
- 1:16:44Speaker 2: I think you're only getting heat because it's work. I
- 1:16:51Speaker 2: think majority of people don't want it to be any
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: different because you're 7-1.
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: Why change something? A lot of people out there are superstitious,
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: you included, Michael.
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: If something is working, don't change it. Because the second
- 1:17:04Speaker 2: you change it and you take a loss, everybody's going
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: to blame that song.
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: But your head coach is even saying he wishes there
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: was another song. That was his nice way of saying,
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: I wish they would play a different song. And he's
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: right about it. So if your head coach wants it,
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: why would you keep it that way?
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: So maybe it's what the program needs. Maybe you end
- 1:17:26Speaker 2: up making the playoffs and you lose in the first
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: round and Will Stein in the offseason says, all right,
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: it was because of the song. We've got to change
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: the song. Year two, he comes in, pulls a signet,
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: he wins the championship. Listen, I'm not saying just get
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: rid of the song altogether. Play it after the game's over.
- 1:17:41Speaker 2: And that's a really nice way to leave the game.
- 1:17:44Speaker 2: It's like, okay, everybody, this will be our tradition now.
- 1:17:47Speaker 2: We will sing that song after we win. And I
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: think that's pretty cool. So, I mean, I don't know.
- 1:17:56Speaker 2: For the life of me, I just don't understand it.
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: Hey, speaking of cool, can I get you my Maryland story? Oh,
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: please do.
- 1:18:03Speaker 2: So, I saw this yesterday. It's a pretty cool thing
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: that Maryland football is doing. So, they are giving away...
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: Free tuition to one lucky student.
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: Whoa. For the spring semester. Oh, just one semester.
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: All you have to do is stay through the fourth
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: quarter of their football game.
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: To one person.
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: And one student that stays throughout the fourth quarter will
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: get free tuition for the spring.
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: Well, because, you know, they've been yelling from the– student section,
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: fire their coach. And finally that did happen. And now
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: they're trying to encourage the, uh, the students to stay
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: for the entire fourth quarter. Yeah. That's well worth it
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: right there.
- 1:18:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: I mean, if, I found out about that my child
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: was going to Maryland and they didn't stay for the
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: fourth quarter. Oh, you'd make it. Oh, you're daggone right
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: I am. You're talking what? University of Maryland, that's a
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: pretty good school, right? You're talking about what? $ 50, 000, $ 60, 000
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: right there? No. For one semester? How much is one semester?
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: No way.
- 1:19:03Speaker 2: It's probably $ 20, 000 at the most.
- 1:19:06Speaker 4: Really?
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: Okay. I had to guess. I mean, I don't know.
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: I don't really either.
- 1:19:10Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: But I thought that was pretty cool. Good on Maryland. Yeah,
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: that is pretty cool. Would you stay for a fourth
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: quarter of a terrible team if it meant you were
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: going to college for free for one semester? Definitely.
- 1:19:23Speaker 4: Now, I don't know if I would do it with
- 1:19:25Speaker 4: Tyler Childers playing in the middle of it. But, I mean,
- 1:19:31Speaker 4: to go back to that point, there's so many, so
- 1:19:34Speaker 4: many times where like a media type timeout comes on.
- 1:19:37Speaker 4: And you can play the song like Louisville plays. It's
- 1:19:40Speaker 4: five o'clock somewhere. Plays it like first quarter, the first
- 1:19:43Speaker 4: media timeout.
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: That's fine.
- 1:19:44Speaker 4: Everybody sings it, but it's not going to be like,
- 1:19:46Speaker 4: you know, getting somebody jacked up to go make noise
- 1:19:49Speaker 4: on like a huge third down or anything. Yeah.
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: Yeah. You can find time. Well, I'm talking to one
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: of the UK staff while they were playing the song.
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: And he goes, I hate this song. And I'm like, really?
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: I feel like I'm the only one out there. He goes,
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: I can't stand this. Anyway, but I thought, hmm, I'm
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: not the only one. Then that makes me feel good.
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: One person, John, said, between Kenny Minchey, Josh Hoover, and
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: Arch Manning, so far this season, Kenny is having the
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: better overall season statistically. And that is a fact. Hoover
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: is in second place. However, we shall see how the
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: season goes. Look, if Kenny leaves for whatever reason and
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: Arch is available, then come on down. No, I'm not
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: saying that. Sometimes it's not quite just the quarterback. It
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: can also be the wrong coaching system that is hurting them.
- 1:20:37Speaker 4: No.
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: You laughed. What are you thinking, Quinn?
- 1:20:40Speaker 4: It was just the way you worded that was pretty funny.
- 1:20:44Speaker 4: I don't know about Arch Manning. I think just because
- 1:20:46Speaker 4: of his last name, he.
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: Gets a lot of... Exactly.
- 1:20:49Speaker 4: I mean, I kind of do feel bad for the guy, though.
- 1:20:51Speaker 4: I mean, he's got way too... high of expectations when
- 1:20:55Speaker 4: he didn't even play a single college game yet. He's
- 1:20:58Speaker 4: immediately starting at one of the football powers, not only
- 1:21:01Speaker 4: in the country but also the SEC. He's playing in
- 1:21:04Speaker 4: front of 103,000 people every Saturday, and when you make
- 1:21:08Speaker 4: a mistake on that stage, it's going to come to light.
- 1:21:10Speaker 2: By the way, I did check out the Manning cast
- 1:21:13Speaker 2: last night for Monday Night Football. Arch can't be as
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: bad as those two clowns. That's horrible.
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: It's so bad. 48 Hanley said, Manning's an instinctive runner
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: like his granddaddy. See, I haven't paid enough to Texas
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: football to be able to say one way or the other.
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: I just see the results and highlights, and he's just
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: an okay quarterback.
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: Does speed skip a generation or what? Because Peyton and
- 1:21:39Speaker 2: Eli are molasses.
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: Oh, very much so. Yeah. In fact, I'd say Eli's
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: faster than Peyton. But, yeah. The graduate with Dustin Hussman.
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: You're exactly right. Thank you there. So, somebody sent me
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: the YouTube. Is that what it is? Thank you, Jamie.
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: I appreciate that. I'll get to that in a little bit.
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: Will from South Central said, Tennessee bench Faison Brandon for
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: George McIntyre two weeks ago. Okay. I'll watch him play then. So,
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: there you go. George McIntyre will be– he's the sophomore. So, actually,
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: Brandon had replaced him for a little bit and then
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: they had gone back. Anyway.
- 1:22:17Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: One person said, let's see, Wisconsin guy said it's an
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: animal house quote.
- 1:22:25Speaker 2: A little late there, Wisconsin guy. That was like so
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: two hours ago. Yeah, and this guy's reminding me again.
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: Michael, leave it alone. Everything is working right now. Cats
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: are winning. Environment is amazing. I'm not criticizing the environment.
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: I just worry when it comes down to a point
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: in time that this team needs a crowd into it.
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: People are going to be singing that song, and then
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: the energy level's gone as soon as the song's over.
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: Just telling you. One person said, Michael, once again demonstrating
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: how to host a radio show while not paying attention
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: at all. Scoots doesn't watch movies but saw the remake
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: of White Men Can't Jump. This show never ceases to amaze.
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: I've seen both White Men Can't Jump, for what it's worth.
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: In Quinn's defense, it was his understanding there would be
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: no math. Wait, what? What did he say? That's a
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: great line. In Quinn's defense, it was his understanding there
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: would be no math. Another great Chevy Chase bit from
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: Saturday Night Live, and that is true. That's a great line.
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: But anyway, if the mojo is working, you don't mess
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: with the mojo. Respect the streak. Okay. Precisely. Yeah. Patrick said,
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: I agree with you, Michael. I think I'm All You're
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: In should be played as a leaving song. Also, the
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: Rays need to come back or they will be leaving
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: the World Series. They're already leaving the World Series. Thank
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: you for that, Patrick. It's too late. But, yeah, I think, listen,
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: you're not getting rid of the song. You're just playing
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: when the game's over when they win. I'm not kidding.
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: I think that would be a nice little tradition. It's
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: a nice compromise. Okay? Play your cute little song and
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: then be done. Hoover got hurt in the Ohio State game.
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: Gutted it out against Michigan. I was referring to Archie Manning.
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: I know you were referring to Archie Manning. I got that.
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: So let me get this last one before we take
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: a break. So, I heard from different media, Signetti, Braum,
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: and Stein are quarterback whisperers. Who is real quarterback whisperer? Sick.
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: I think for now, yes. Braum. Really? Braum. Really, Quinn?
- 1:24:44Speaker 4: Except for Miller Moss. He's an exception.
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: How many Heismans has Braum got there? Oh, geez. Really? Nobody.
- 1:24:51Speaker 4: But. Lamar or Fernando Mendoza, who are you taking if you've.
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: Got a leader? Oh, Fernando Mendoza in a second. Really? Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: Nando's arm is so much better than Lamar's was at
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: this age. Lamar can sling it a little bit. He
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: can now. I'll give you that. He's not going to
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: make it to a Super Bowl. He can't get past
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: the first.
- 1:25:10Speaker 4: Oh, I don't think he will either.
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: See, that's why I'm taking Fernando because I think Fernando will.
- 1:25:14Speaker 4: I think you've got to put Lamar in a better situation.
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: Nah.
- 1:25:17Speaker 4: If you put Lamar on the Seahawks, wouldn't lose.
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: I wouldn't take Lamar. I know he's a freak of
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: an athlete, but he's not a leader. He's just not
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: a leader out there on the field. He's an individually
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: great athlete that can do really well on his own,
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: but he cannot lead a team.
- 1:25:35Speaker 4: He brings problems everywhere. He brings problems? Like to the
- 1:25:39Speaker 4: opposing team. Oh, I agree with that.
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: He's a great scrambler, but he's going to injure himself
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: because of his scrambling. That's what we've been saying for years.
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: I think a lot of people discredit his arm. Really?
- 1:25:50Speaker 4: He's not a bad passer. I think he actually might
- 1:25:52Speaker 4: have led the QB ratings in the past five years himself.
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: 48Handler says Mendoza is 7-1 to be Rookie of the Year.
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: Dude hasn't even played.
- 1:26:04Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: How's that possible? Well, we've got to take our last break.
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: When we come back, we've got to talk about this
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: whole Pat McAfee thing. Did you find the– I got it. Okay, good.
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: We're going to talk about that as soon as we
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: get back. Stay right there. One more segment of Just
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: the Cats coming up.
- 1:26:20Speaker 3: You with me that's okay cause I got no self
- 1:26:24Speaker 3: esteem away When dreaming got to do with all the
- 1:26:49Speaker 3: world time and time again At sunrise I thought to
- 1:27:00Speaker 3: stay asleep Cause I don't want to leave the comfort.
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: Of this place.
- 1:27:09Speaker 3: Cause there's a hunger, a longing to escape from the
- 1:27:14Speaker 3: life I live when I'm awake.
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: Do you know who this is, Quinn? The Greek? Very good! Wow!
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: Nailed it. If only his test was unbanned.
- 1:27:29Speaker 4: There we go again.
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: I'm not kidding. I was telling you during the break,
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: Corey was really upset at Quinn flunking that math test.
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: I mean, he was just, he was livid. There's not
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: very much Corey loves more than math.
- 1:27:45Speaker 4: No.
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: But so Nick Roush, when he texted me last week,
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: what's the name of your horse that's racing? I said,
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: it's Cosmic Creed. And then the very next text I
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: got back from him, I will take you higher. What's
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: the name of that song? Higher. Let me take you higher. Yeah.
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: And that's what he said to me. It's like, okay,
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: I get it. Creed, ha-ha. So, anyway, I thought that
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: was pretty quick. That's a Rouse joke. Yeah, it is.
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: And I appreciate his Rouse jokes because they're very similar
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: to mine. So, anyway, let's talk about Breeders' Cup for
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: a second before we talk about Pat McAfee. Breeders' Cup,
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: classic lineup, which I think is going to be a
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: lot of fun. T.O. Password is going to be post-Position 1,
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: post-Position 2, Sovereignty, Golden Tempo, the Puma, Forever Young, Magnitude, Knightsbridge,
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: and Napoleon Solo. So we'll talk more about Breeders' Cup.
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: Cup on, well, Thursday or Friday. My boy's in two.
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: Is that what you said? Where is that? Sovereignty. He's
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: in two. Yeah. Oh, yeah. I'm sorry. Sovereignty's in two.
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: I love that. And see Golden Tempo's in three. I
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: ain't worried about Golden Tempo. Sure, he liked that. It
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: was a flash in the pan. Oh, really? Forever Young, 2-1.
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: Knightsbridge is 9-2. Sovereignty, 5-2. And Golden Tempo is 5-1.
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: Go Sovereignty. There you go. It'll be a fun race.
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: I think it's going to be between Sovereignty and Golden Tempo.
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: And I guess Forever Young. Where is that? Really? Isn't
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: that a Japanese horse?
- 1:29:20Speaker 2: Straight out of Japan. Yeah, listen to Quinn talking horse
- 1:29:23Speaker 2: racing over here. He said he loves the derby. That
- 1:29:25Speaker 2: horse ran in the derby.
- 1:29:26Speaker 4: Yep, he was my pick. Unfortunately, he got second.
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: Wow. You should have placed a bet for win, play, show, Quinn.
- 1:29:34Speaker 1: Not just a win. Before you messed up. Yeah. Okay.
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: Let's talk about Pat McAfee. Let's do it. Did y'all
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: see the little controversy that happened over the weekend because
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: they did college game day out in Utah? I've got
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: no idea what you're talking about. Do you not really?
- 1:29:49Speaker 4: Was it something with Mormon beliefs or anything?
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: No, no, not at all. It was the university. One
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: of the students were making fun of Pat McAfee and
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: doing an impersonation of him. You want to go ahead
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: and play it? This is the interview. This is the
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: actual interview that happened. Give me your best Pat McAfee impression.
- 1:30:14Speaker 4: I'd say Pat McAfee, he's going to say a corny line.
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: He's going to be like... Houston, we got a problem.
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: Give me the Utah Utes. I would actually spend my
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: money on the odds of Pat ripping his shirt off
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: this morning. I'm not ripping off my shirt. Bro, Pat. Bro, Pat, Pat, Pat. Pat,
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: we love you, bro, but, like, bro, keep the shirt on.
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: No one's trying to see that. Like, we don't care.
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: These are college kids, bro. Like, keep your shirt on, homie.
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: Go Utes! Pat McAfee impression. I can't do that. So
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: do either of you take that as a real knock
- 1:30:54Speaker 1: at Pat McAfee?
- 1:30:55Speaker 3: No.
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: I mean, the guys were just saying, we love you, bro,
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: but don't take your shirt off. If I'm McAfee, I'm
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: actually flattered about this. They're having fun with you. I
- 1:31:04Speaker 1: literally have no issue with it. Do you, Quinn? No.
- 1:31:07Speaker 4: I mean, Pat makes a lot of dollars for doing
- 1:31:11Speaker 4: his antics, so. The bottom line is he's really successful,
- 1:31:15Speaker 4: and if they want to make fun of him for
- 1:31:17Speaker 4: what his market is, that's who he is.
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: Now, Pat McAfee gets on his show yesterday and rips
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: into University of Utah. You're laughing about it, but I
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: think it's really kind of sad what he did.
- 1:31:30Speaker 4: I mean, that's who he is. He's not afraid to
- 1:31:33Speaker 4: go back at people.
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: But that was going back in a negative way, where
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: they were not being negative or hurtful or doing anything
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: to spite him whatsoever. And he was saying, what else
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: happened in Utah? Oh, yeah, somebody was shot. Now, that's...
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: That was pretty strong. That's where you cross the line.
- 1:31:52Speaker 4: You can do the stuff about the students, but, yeah,
- 1:31:57Speaker 4: you can't really mention the....
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: Should have written an apology letter to Pat McAfee. Absolutely not. See,
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: I don't either. Quinn, do you? And they did.
- 1:32:08Speaker 4: Now, maybe Pat needs to send a letter to the state,
- 1:32:12Speaker 4: the Beehive State in general, about his comments.
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: Are they the Beehive State? That's what I was getting
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: ready to ask. How do you know that?
- 1:32:21Speaker 4: Because on ESPN the other day when I was watching,
- 1:32:24Speaker 4: they were talking about Utah versus BYU at the end
- 1:32:27Speaker 4: of the year.
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: I thought that was the Holy War.
- 1:32:28Speaker 4: Is it not?
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: I have no idea.
- 1:32:31Speaker 4: So I'm pretty sure the rivalry is called.
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: The Holy War. I think you are right.
- 1:32:36Speaker 4: But on the graphic, it said the Battle of the
- 1:32:38Speaker 4: Beehive State.
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: The Beehive State.
- 1:32:41Speaker 4: That's what it said.
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: I have literally never heard of that before. I wonder
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: how many beehives they have. Yeah.
- 1:32:48Speaker 4: So someone tell Corey P that I pay attention in geography.
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: All right. Let's find out. Utah is officially known as
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: the Beehive State. I did not know that.
- 1:33:00Speaker 4: Me neither.
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: Okay. All right. There you go. So you learn something
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: tidbit right there every day. And now we got one
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: for him. He flunks math, but he knows what state.
- 1:33:09Speaker 4: But he thrives in geography.
- 1:33:11Speaker 1: Yeah. And Kentucky's known as what? Bluegrass State. Florida. The
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: Sunshine State. California. Wow. See, that's a bear state. The
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: hippie state. Is it the bear state? I mean, it
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: could be the bear. They do have bear on their flag. Yeah,
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: they do. So... Always fun having you, Quinn. Thank you, Mr. Bennett.
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: It was a fun day. We'll see you next. We
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: might have to change that Mr. Bennett stuff, but it's okay.
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: I do enjoy you saying that, but all right, everybody.
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: Appreciate you listening. Appreciate all the texts. We'll see you tomorrow.
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: I'm Justin Capp.
