- 0:04Speaker 1: All right, all right, come and throw you alive from Pilly.
- 0:09Speaker 1: It's the Polly and Tony Foulsco show. Always Polly Foolsco
- 0:15Speaker 1: here with Tony Fosco and Tony you know, another huge
- 0:20Speaker 1: show today. NFL training camps officially opened, and you know
- 0:25Speaker 1: the people they look to us to bring them up
- 0:27Speaker 1: to speed on all that's going on in the NFL,
- 0:30Speaker 1: the big stories. We're gonna do that, including a terrific
- 0:34Speaker 1: development out of Eagles training camp that is sending shock
- 0:39Speaker 1: waves throughout the entire NFL. Isn't that right, Tony? You know,
- 0:43Speaker 1: I don't want to exaggerate, but seventeen no No is
- 0:48Speaker 1: definitely on the table. Absolutely. But first, some quick business
- 0:54Speaker 1: up top. Today's show is sponsored by our friends at Hotmail.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Have you recently signed up for a new email address? Well?
- 1:02Speaker 1: Why the funk would you do that? Nobody's going to
- 1:05Speaker 1: know how to get in touch with you, isn't that right? Tone? Absolutely,
- 1:09Speaker 1: and take it from me. I'm entering my twenty eight
- 1:13Speaker 1: year on Hotmail and I love every day and hundreds
- 1:17Speaker 1: of messages from friends and family sending me all kinds
- 1:22Speaker 1: of links and sometimes advertisements. It's wonderful. Sign up for
- 1:28Speaker 1: hotmail today and just note it does not work on
- 1:32Speaker 1: anything past mac os two point Oh. Okay, with that
- 1:36Speaker 1: behind us, let's get right into it with our top
- 1:39Speaker 1: story story huge hubbub out of Arizona surrounding quarterback Kyler
- 1:48Speaker 1: Murray and his contract. It has been revealed that there's
- 1:52Speaker 1: a stipulation in this contract that Kyler Murray has to
- 1:56Speaker 1: spend four hours per week watching game. For now, the
- 2:00Speaker 1: Cardinals just realized the error of their waves and took
- 2:04Speaker 1: the stipulation out of the contract. But still, yeah, this
- 2:09Speaker 1: is what I've never understood. Why the hell would you
- 2:12Speaker 1: want your quarterback watching film, spending so much time doing that?
- 2:17Speaker 1: You know, Kyler Murray, he's an athlete. You want your
- 2:20Speaker 1: athletes in shape. You think that's gonna happen, you know,
- 2:23Speaker 1: keeping him locked up in a dark room in a
- 2:26Speaker 1: chair for four hours each day, of course not. You know,
- 2:30Speaker 1: people always act like it's a good thing that Tom
- 2:32Speaker 1: Brady and Peyton Manning watched tons of film, but look
- 2:36Speaker 1: at them on the field. They couldn't run, They had
- 2:39Speaker 1: no mobility because instead of working out, they were sitting
- 2:43Speaker 1: in a chair in a dark room for hours every day,
- 2:47Speaker 1: which caused their bodies to become a tropheed. How was
- 2:51Speaker 1: that not oppvious to everyone but us? You know, I
- 2:55Speaker 1: hate to say it, Tony, but remember those old movie critics,
- 3:00Speaker 1: Cisco and Ebit. You know, again, I hate to say it,
- 3:04Speaker 1: but both of them were not what you would call
- 3:07Speaker 1: healthy people. And you've got to draw a straight line
- 3:11Speaker 1: between their poor health and sitting in a dark movie
- 3:14Speaker 1: theater in a chair without sunlight for fourteen to sixteen
- 3:19Speaker 1: hours a day. And you know, this is why I
- 3:21Speaker 1: think it's atrocious that NFL teams would incur this kind
- 3:25Speaker 1: of Cisco Inibit treatment on their players. Great point, Paulie.
- 3:31Speaker 1: You know why athletes in the sixties and seventies were
- 3:34Speaker 1: so unhealthy. People think it was because they smoked cigarettes
- 3:38Speaker 1: and then eat right. No, it was because the coaches
- 3:42Speaker 1: had to spend so much time putting the film in
- 3:45Speaker 1: the projector, and that led to even more time of
- 3:49Speaker 1: players sitting in their chairs and dark rooms. Terrific point, Tonty,
- 3:55Speaker 1: and just terrible when you think about it. You know,
- 3:58Speaker 1: you have to wonder the great Johnny and Nitis would
- 4:02Speaker 1: have won more than just one championship had he not
- 4:05Speaker 1: watched any film at all. But you know, let's instead
- 4:11Speaker 1: of we don't want to be too negative on the show, right,
- 4:14Speaker 1: let's get to a positive Eagles dynamo head coach Nick Sirianni, who,
- 4:22Speaker 1: as we all know, knows how to make the perfect
- 4:25Speaker 1: impression at opening press conferences as well. He did it
- 4:29Speaker 1: once again this season, this time by showing up day
- 4:32Speaker 1: one the Eagles training camp wearing a T shirt with
- 4:37Speaker 1: a cartoon cut out of Jalen Hurts his face on it.
- 4:40Speaker 1: And uh, Tony, this is just another smart strategic move
- 4:45Speaker 1: from Mr Nick Sirianni, isn't it. Absolutely? I can't think
- 4:50Speaker 1: of a better way to show support for a quarterback
- 4:53Speaker 1: than by wearing a cartoon version of his head on
- 4:57Speaker 1: a T shirt. Right now, you have to wonder what
- 5:00Speaker 1: if Doug Peterson simply showed up to training camp wearing
- 5:04Speaker 1: a cartoon version of Carson Wentz his head. Then Carson
- 5:08Speaker 1: Wentz would still be in Philly, one guaranteed. And look,
- 5:14Speaker 1: I know this is totally obvious, but it must be said.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Bill Belichick right now has got to be kicking himself
- 5:22Speaker 1: because he knows if he had just worn a custom
- 5:25Speaker 1: made T shirt featuring Tom Brady's cartoon head in training camp,
- 5:31Speaker 1: Tom Brady would still be on the Patriots and they
- 5:34Speaker 1: probably would add two or three more Super Bowls. Right now,
- 5:36Speaker 1: You've got to think it, Tony, right easy. Frankly, after this,
- 5:42Speaker 1: if you see any coach in the league not wearing
- 5:44Speaker 1: a cartoon cut out their quarterback, you have to wonder
- 5:49Speaker 1: if something's wrong there ab absolutely all right. Moving on
- 5:54Speaker 1: now to a former NFL you'll be making those Ex
- 5:58Speaker 1: Steeler quarterback Ben Roethlisberger took a shot at young NFL players,
- 6:04Speaker 1: saying that these days their quote coddled and not team focused. Instead,
- 6:11Speaker 1: they're me focused because they're treated it too well in college,
- 6:16Speaker 1: especially now that they can make piles of money. And
- 6:19Speaker 1: Tony I one hundred percent agree with Ben Roethlisberger here.
- 6:25Speaker 1: I find the special treatment that these players are given
- 6:29Speaker 1: in college will be absolutely disgusting. Don't you a great
- 6:33Speaker 1: Tony one hundred percent? You know this is what happens
- 6:38Speaker 1: when you start giving young players money for playing football,
- 6:42Speaker 1: they start to think that they're special. I mean, do
- 6:45Speaker 1: you really think it's special to be able to throw
- 6:48Speaker 1: a football eight yards in the air to a receiver
- 6:51Speaker 1: running at a speed of around fifteen and twenty miles
- 6:54Speaker 1: per hour and hitting him square in the hands, not
- 6:58Speaker 1: in the slightest Big Also, you know, think of all
- 7:01Speaker 1: the distractions out there that come from money. These kids
- 7:05Speaker 1: nowadays they gotta worry about, you know, bank accounts, checkbooks, agents, manages.
- 7:12Speaker 1: It was so much better in the past when they
- 7:16Speaker 1: didn't have money, Isn't that right, don'ty Of course, when
- 7:20Speaker 1: you don't have money, you have to rely on your
- 7:23Speaker 1: teammates to let you borrow their money. And that is
- 7:27Speaker 1: something that can really help with team building. In fact,
- 7:32Speaker 1: I heard that's how Big Ben helped build the camaraderie
- 7:35Speaker 1: in the Steelers organization by loaning a fifty or maybe
- 7:39Speaker 1: a hundred to an offensive lineman who was underpaid due
- 7:43Speaker 1: to Big Ben's giant salary. And that just goes to
- 7:48Speaker 1: show what a true team player, Mr Ben roethlisbergers. And
- 7:52Speaker 1: you know, with all do fans here, you know you
- 7:55Speaker 1: can make some critiques about Ben Roethlisberger. You know you
- 7:59Speaker 1: can that. You know, all right, he made a few
- 8:02Speaker 1: errand passes here in there, and you know, all right,
- 8:05Speaker 1: maybe he took too many sacks and okay, it could
- 8:08Speaker 1: have stayed in mild leaf, that is shape, and all right,
- 8:12Speaker 1: maybe he stayed in the league four or five years,
- 8:15Speaker 1: you know, longer than he should have been enough, all right,
- 8:18Speaker 1: he was absolutely garbage in that first super Bowl, the one.
- 8:21Speaker 1: And you know, it's a total joke to everybody that
- 8:24Speaker 1: even gets credit for winning that game, but just can't
- 8:27Speaker 1: say is that he wasn't a great team player. Absolutely
- 8:33Speaker 1: one of the best all time bars none. And talking
- 8:37Speaker 1: about best all time, there goes another great episode by us.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Of course, we want to we want to thank our
- 8:46Speaker 1: good friends again at hotmail and if one of our
- 8:53Speaker 1: bad friends, yeah, one of the bad What look you said, Johnny,
- 9:00Speaker 1: I has won one championship. Yeah, no, he won one
- 9:04Speaker 1: super Bowl, but he won two NFL championships before the
- 9:09Speaker 1: Super Bowl era, so he won three total. Oh yeah, Well,
- 9:16Speaker 1: you have a total of three seconds to leave before
- 9:20Speaker 1: I kill you. Yeah. I'm gonna punch you in the
- 9:24Speaker 1: skull a total of three times. Yeah, no more, we're done. Second, what, Tony,
- 9:33Speaker 1: you said the word a trophied? Yea, it's pronounced atrophied, atrophied. No,
- 9:42Speaker 1: what he meant was you get a trophy for being
- 9:45Speaker 1: the world's shittiest producer. Yeah, and after we kill you,
- 9:50Speaker 1: I'm going to a tropheed your body and to my
- 9:54Speaker 1: garbage disposal. Now what, hurry, what you said you've had
- 10:03Speaker 1: a hotmail account for twenty eight years? Yeah, first hotmail
- 10:08Speaker 1: came out in twenty six years ago, so you couldn't
- 10:14Speaker 1: have had that email address back then. And you know what, Also,
- 10:18Speaker 1: do you really think that's something to brag about? Well,
- 10:22Speaker 1: on that subject, your email address is about to become
- 10:26Speaker 1: produce a j at dead dot com. Yeah, and just
- 10:31Speaker 1: so you know, nobody considers you a hot mail Now, yeah,
- 10:39Speaker 1: we're done. That's Look at him, Look at him, so kya,
- 10:42Speaker 1: he's probably crying. He's probably upset that hot mail address. Yeah, well, anyway,
- 10:49Speaker 1: here's something that won't upset anybody. Next week. Booked on
- 10:53Speaker 1: the show super Bowl Hero Eagles legend Nick Foles. Until then,
- 10:59Speaker 1: makes here to follow us on our many successful social
