- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, Demanded by
- 0:16celebrities, CEOs and even royalty, Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Adam Smith in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39Hi, it's Adam here. Now, a lot of people, when they
- 0:42go through something very distressing, tend to increase
- 0:47their vigilance. They think more about that
- 0:50thing, they study it more, they research it more.
- 0:54They become very attuned to anything around that thing and
- 0:59that can create a very interesting paradox where the
- 1:02more they know, the more scared they are, the more they look for
- 1:07clues or warnings and the more anxious they get and it becomes
- 1:11a self fulfilling prophecy. But here's what's interesting is
- 1:14that for those people that have done the research, they're
- 1:18probably safer than almost anyone else in that particular
- 1:22area because of all the knowledge they have, because of
- 1:25all of that sensory acuity. And I was working with a client
- 1:29that had had very distressing experiences with mould.
- 1:33It had affected their health. And because of that, they were
- 1:38vigilant. They knew the smells, they knew
- 1:41the the things to look out for. They knew where to check in like
- 1:45the HVAC, and they would know all these things.
- 1:48And that was only increasing their anxiety.
- 1:51So this actually does a reframe and it actually says, well,
- 1:56there is no one safer on the earth than this particular
- 2:00person because they know what to look for.
- 2:04And if there's any danger at all, they can either spot it
- 2:07early, mitigate it, keep themselves safe.
- 2:11And that's a very empowering reframe because otherwise the
- 2:15anxiety just feeds on anxiety, whereas feeling that you've
- 2:19never been this wise, this resourceful, this aware,
- 2:24actually can keep you safe. And this could apply to
- 2:27anything. One of my heroes growing up was
- 2:32Steve Irwin, the Australian naturalist who you know into
- 2:38animals and you would see him picking up snakes and scorpions
- 2:43and alligators and crocodiles because his knowledge of these
- 2:48animals actually made him feel safer.
- 2:50He was very aware. He would look for very subtle
- 2:54movements. The kind of thing that the
- 2:56normal person would just not pick up on, he picked up on.
- 2:59And he understood he had lots of knowledge about these animals.
- 3:02So what would be reckless for an average person was actually
- 3:06fairly responsible for someone if you have those.
- 3:09But he perceived it as resources.
- 3:13And lots of people, they gather all this knowledge about their
- 3:15particular thing that they're scared of, and it just makes
- 3:18them more scared. So this is a hypnosis session to
- 3:21seize the empowering part of all of this knowledge and awareness
- 3:25that you've probably accumulated on whatever your thing is.
- 3:29For this client, it was mold. For you, it might be something
- 3:33else. So think about what is the thing
- 3:35that you used to be anxious about?
- 3:37But because you are more aware of that thing, actually there's
- 3:40no need to be anxious anymore. In fact, what you probably are
- 3:43left with is a superpower specific in this.
- 3:47Area of your. Life Now It was created for a
- 3:50client that had originally a fear of mould, so if you do like
- 3:55the idea of a bespoke hypnosis session, have a look in the show
- 3:59notes. There's various resources there,
- 4:01including the ability to look at how to work with me directly, so
- 4:06check that out in the show notes in the description if that's of
- 4:10interest. For now though, find a quiet,
- 4:13comfortable place where you won't be distracted or
- 4:15disturbed. Relax and enjoy the session.
- 4:45Take a deep breath in, and as you breathe in, allow yourself
- 4:55to breathe in at calm, slow, relaxed breath of relaxation.
- 5:01And as you exhale, just allow any feelings of stress, worry,
- 5:07or tension, especially any echoes from the past, to be
- 5:14released and to feel it leave your body in your outward
- 5:20breath. That's it.
- 5:23Breathing in relaxation, exhaling tension, giving
- 5:31yourself permission to let go. You've been holding onto a lot,
- 5:42you've been worrying about a lot, and right here, right now,
- 5:50you can just allow yourself to let go of any need to do
- 5:55anything. Sometimes pressure, thoughts,
- 6:05worries and concerns build up like a pressure cooker every now
- 6:12and then. That pressure needs to be
- 6:14released and relieved, so every outward breath just make it go
- 6:25twice as long as it normally would, allowing the outward
- 6:31breath to be the release valve that's in.
- 6:36And as you breathe out, feel the release and there may be clues
- 6:45in your body, tension around the jaw just relaxing, a lightness
- 6:53in your head or a heaviness in your arms or your legs.
- 7:00That's it. Every outward breath, just make
- 7:03it a little bit longer. Breathing in for deeper,
- 7:09exhaling for longer allow, allowing each breath to take you
- 7:16deeper and deeper. Relaxed.
- 7:21That's it. And the deeper you breathe, the
- 7:27more relaxed you feel. And the more relaxed you feel,
- 7:34the deeper you breathe. A wonderful cycle of ever
- 7:39increasing levels of relaxation. You don't need to make yourself
- 7:49relaxed or make yourself calm, but if you notice it, embrace
- 7:55it. If you feel more relaxed,
- 7:59acknowledge it. If it feels like your nervous
- 8:03system is calming down, acknowledge it and allow your
- 8:12attention to turn inward to an idea that your body has always
- 8:22been trying to protect you. Your body has always been trying
- 8:28to guide you, even when it felt intense and even when it felt
- 8:38overwhelming. Your intuition was never working
- 8:46against you, but sometimes it was working too hard.
- 8:54Sometimes there's a part of your subconscious and was trying to
- 9:00prepare for risks that weren't there.
- 9:05Too much urgency, too much anticipation.
- 9:12Like fighting shadows. You can never win that fight.
- 9:18And this all probably happened because at one time you didn't
- 9:27have the knowledge, the understanding, the experience,
- 9:31the wisdom and the capabilities that you have now.
- 9:36And that urgency felt necessary maybe because it was back then.
- 9:50And if you were to meet that version of you, and you could
- 9:57tell that version of you, everything you now know about
- 10:01mold, about early detection, about reducing risk, about where
- 10:09to look, what to do, what to eat, how much more knowledge do
- 10:17you have now that you didn't have back then?
- 10:23Anxiety may have been helpful back then because you didn't
- 10:28know what you now know. In the time between then and
- 10:36now, you've learned, you've experienced, you've adapted.
- 10:45And the part of you that once needed to be frantic and react
- 10:52and start to realize that you are no longer the same person
- 10:57that you used to be. Right now, you're someone who
- 11:03understands, You're someone who recognizes, You're someone who
- 11:10knows what to do. And the more you think about how
- 11:17much you know, the more you realize you are capable.
- 11:28And I wonder if you could imagine a version of you, not in
- 11:35the distant future, but a version of you that already
- 11:38exists. A version of you that has your
- 11:43same knowledge, your same wisdom and experience, but a version of
- 11:49you that sees that as empowering.
- 11:57Because with all of your knowledge, you could see danger
- 11:59everywhere. You could also see solutions
- 12:04everywhere. You could feel like a superhero,
- 12:10invincible, capable. So imagine that other version of
- 12:16you moving through environments with calm awareness, who also
- 12:23notices things clearly, either by smell, sensation or sight.
- 12:31But instead of responding with anxiety, they respond with
- 12:36empowered precision. Not with urgency and not with
- 12:43fear, but with a feeling of certainty.
- 12:46And I want you to imagine this version of you walking around
- 12:52your home, and they don't look tense, they don't look
- 13:01overwhelmed. They look composed, grounded,
- 13:06capable, because that version of you understands something at a
- 13:14profoundly, deeply, almost intuitive level, that what once
- 13:23felt like a weakness was actually a refined ability,
- 13:32perhaps even a superpower. And as you step closer to that
- 13:38version of you, you begin to realise that this sensitivity,
- 13:45this awareness, this understanding is not something
- 13:50to fear. It's something that most people
- 13:54don't even have. You are stronger now than you've
- 14:01ever been, more aware than you've ever been.
- 14:08That version of you has an early detection system, a signal, a
- 14:15radar sensory acuity that allows you to notice things that others
- 14:21would amiss. What's invisible to them is
- 14:25obvious to you, enabling that calm, composed version of you to
- 14:31act earlier, to respond faster, to solve problems before they
- 14:38grow. And the only thing that ever
- 14:42needed to change was not the ability, but how you perceive
- 14:50that ability. And with that capability, the
- 14:59calm, composed awareness of what to do with it.
- 15:05Because now you don't need urgency, you don't need
- 15:10desperation, you don't need fear.
- 15:14You have knowledge, you have strategy.
- 15:18You don't need to react when you can respond.
- 15:26And the part of you that once asked what if this happens?
- 15:32What if this is a problem? What if I can't handle it?
- 15:37Thank that part for its wonderful intention of trying to
- 15:40keep you safe. But you can let that part know
- 15:44that it can begin to relax now. It doesn't need to ask those
- 15:50questions because something far more powerful replaces it.
- 16:01What if we change what if to? Even if that?
- 16:08Even if something is there, you notice it early.
- 16:13Even if it appears you know exactly what to do.
- 16:19Even if you encounter it, you can handle it calmly,
- 16:24efficiently, effectively. Even if becomes a signal of
- 16:32capability and resilience, not uncertainty and threat.
- 16:44And as you imagine encountering even the faintest trace, notice
- 16:51what happens differently now. No need to catastrophize,
- 16:57escalate, amplify. Your breathing can stay steady,
- 17:05your chest relaxed and open. Your mind stays clear because
- 17:10your body begins to understand. What if It isn't danger?
- 17:19It's simply information, and information in the hands of
- 17:24someone capable like you creates calm action.
- 17:34And I want you to find that other part within you, that
- 17:36quieter part, a deeper intelligence, you know, the one
- 17:43that's calm, capable, steady. The part that doesn't panic, the
- 17:48part that doesn't rush. And we can call that your
- 17:55intuition, a guardian Angel, a protector.
- 18:04And from now on, that intuition begins to guide you, not with
- 18:09urgency, but with clarity. That part will remind you just
- 18:15how much you know, just how capable you are.
- 18:21Of all the options you have, maybe we'll say things like
- 18:28you've handled this before. You know what to do, You're
- 18:35capable. You are the most suitable person
- 18:42on the planet to handle this challenge.
- 18:47And that voice becomes stronger and more trusted and more
- 18:50automatic. And what if instead of
- 18:56spiraling, you stabilize? And what if instead of reacting,
- 19:02you assess? And what if instead of fearing,
- 19:07you act in that calm, composed, capable way?
- 19:11And what if your what ifs become even ifs?
- 19:17Because this is who you are now. Not someone vulnerable, but
- 19:23someone capable. Not someone overwhelmed, but
- 19:30someone prepared. Someone who moves through the
- 19:34world with awareness, with intelligence, with calm
- 19:39authority and an intuition that just knows you can handle this.
- 19:51Like someone with a rare ability, a superpower 1/6 sense
- 19:59that others don't have and wouldn't know how to use even if
- 20:03they did. But you do if your unconscious
- 20:10is willing to reassess. You are now more capable than
- 20:16you've ever been, wiser than you've ever been, more prepared
- 20:22than you've ever been. Let me know by nodding your
- 20:24head. That's it.
- 20:26And I want you to imagine maybe a few weeks from now and just
- 20:35imagine something that before would have triggered that
- 20:39spiral. But now notice what's different.
- 20:46You can observe, you can register, and you can feel calm
- 20:53and capable. Like you can trust yourself to
- 21:00handle whatever needs handling quickly, efficiently, and
- 21:07without escalation because every part of your nervous system has
- 21:15learned something new. That you are safe, not because
- 21:23nothing ever happens and there's no risks at all, but because you
- 21:28can handle whatever challenge comes your way.
- 21:32And when that new belief, that new idea is fully accepted, that
- 21:45you have the resources to meet the demands, you have the
- 21:50capabilities to handle the challenge, let me know by
- 21:53nodding your head. That's it.
- 21:59Very soon I will count from 1:00 to 10:00 so you can return.
- 22:07Not with an idea or a belief, but with an identity.
- 22:14You are capable, you are safe. Challenges make you stronger.
- 22:20You do not fear them. So take a deep breath in through
- 22:24your nose and out through your nose and wiggle your fingers and
- 22:31wiggle your toes. Connect and calibrate into the
- 22:34here and the now as I now count from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken
- 22:41you. Starting to count 123 waking up
- 22:49456 more alert 7-8. Open your eyes.
- 22:53Open your eyes 910. Wide awake.
- 22:58Wide awake. Wide awake.
