- 1:33I'm gonna. Send you a dollar on Venmo.
- 1:36So I could buy No, no, no, no. It, it has to be, it has to be a
- 1:41rando. It has to be a random listener.
- 1:46Don't send me a buck if I because if I do get the buck, I
- 1:48have to follow the bit. If you don't follow the bit,
- 1:50you're a phony. You're a big fat phony.
- 1:52That's why I was going to do it, because it's funny.
- 1:54No, but it can't be you. I get.
- 1:56It Alex is going to tell one of his buddies at work like send
- 2:00this guy a dollar and like I get.
- 2:02Like I'm going to get like a sick, sick new setup.
- 2:06Interface it. Came from a screen box on it as
- 2:09a note. Oh my God.
- 2:11That was just say I love the pod and Alex picks all the best
- 2:14movies. He's such a cool guy.
- 2:16I don't sit in the queue. He's so cool.
- 2:19Dude look at his hair I I wonder what he uses the.
- 2:21Condition. I wish I could have hair like
- 2:22that. Wow, I was almost down to his
- 2:24butt crack. That's so cool.
- 2:27I wonder, does it ever get caught in there?
- 2:28Anyway, I love the pot. I hope it doesn't fall in the
- 2:31toilet when he poos. It'd be like dragging around the
- 2:36mop all. Day I put it up in a bun every
- 2:38time I poo because I'm so scared I'm going to poop on it.
- 2:41No. It's like.
- 2:42Poop hair. Never had it happen because I
- 2:45always put it up. Boy.
- 2:48But it could. It hasn't happened yet, I am, so
- 2:53it's still bound to happen once, OK?
- 2:57Well, you guys aren't here for poop talk, Alex.
- 2:58It was your we're here for. We're here for we're here for
- 3:01great horror movies, and this week I chose the classic.
- 3:07To some people. I've never seen it up until
- 3:09tonight, I chose Alice. Sweet Alice.
- 3:12You've never seen Alice, Sweet Alice.
- 3:13No, I've only heard of it. This is a movie I would have
- 3:16expected you to see. Yeah.
- 3:20Damn, so OK. I've never seen it either, but
- 3:23no one's surprised by that. I feel like, though, it's good
- 3:28that there are some movies that no one's like, yeah, I've seen
- 3:31this, but like, most of those, like, Nope.
- 3:33But I I I'm having fun with it. Yeah.
- 3:36Yeah. So All right.
- 3:38That's good. Why don't you go ahead and tell
- 3:40the folks at home what this movie was about or what you're
- 3:45able to surmise from it? Because it's ADHD as shit.
- 3:48It it is super everywhere off the wall.
- 3:54Slasher. Would you call this a slasher?
- 3:55It's a slasher. Psychological horror?
- 3:59Slasher flick? Yeah.
- 4:01It's like a slasher mystery. Yeah.
- 4:05With a religious bend. Which honestly supports the
- 4:10film, keeps it on fucking 2 feet in my opinion.
- 4:13But anyways. Well I'm just going to read the
- 4:17synopsis because I have ADHD brain myself.
- 4:21Favorite daughter Karen Brooke Shields.
- 4:23This is Brooke Shields first film by the way.
- 4:27Oh, this is her first movie. Yeah, that's good.
- 4:31It wasn't long lived. She she dies.
- 4:36Really. No, I'm.
- 4:39In the movie, yeah. No, like Brooke Shields.
- 4:42I don't think so. I thought I remember seeing
- 4:44something. Well, favorite daughter Karen is
- 4:48viciously strangled and set a fire in a church the day of her
- 4:52first communion and the suspension falls on her jealous
- 4:57suspicion falls on her jealous and emotional unstable sister
- 5:01Alice. When the girl's aunt Annie is
- 5:03later stabbed in the apartment on the apartment complex
- 5:06stairway, Alice is sent away, but the attacks continue,
- 5:11prompting priest Father Tom and Alice's dad Dominic to go and
- 5:16search for the real killer. Yeah, it's a bit of a whodunnit.
- 5:22Release Shields is still alive. Yeah.
- 5:25OK. And and fucking nuts.
- 5:29Oh, is she crazy? If so, oh man, I mean anyways.
- 5:33I'd probably go crazy too. That was a model since I was 11
- 5:37years old. Yeah, sounds like you're on hell
- 5:41and yeah. But like Alex said, she's barely
- 5:45in the movie. Yeah.
- 5:50It starts off like just as Alice is just like a jealous older
- 5:53sister of the younger sister, which like is a pretty, I'm
- 5:57assuming common thing. I don't know.
- 5:59I didn't have siblings. It's very, it's very normal.
- 6:06It's, it's kind of a trope you see too, where like the one kid
- 6:09will be jealous of the younger child because they get more
- 6:12attention. So they're still like acting up.
- 6:17It's in this case it results in the older sibling strangling the
- 6:22younger sibling. Yes, in the church.
- 6:28In the chair, her first during her first communion, and then
- 6:32just tries to take her place, sits, goes up to the was it
- 6:36altar view, whatever. And then that's when everyone
- 6:41realizes where's Karen at? There's Alice.
- 6:45Alice has been missing all day and now she's up at the fucking.
- 6:49Tongue out, ready for the body of Christ.
- 6:51Stop. She's she's ready, but then she
- 6:54doesn't get it. She never gets it.
- 6:57Not even. In the whole movie.
- 6:59He doesn't. Now did she did.
- 7:02She. I think we can just say like
- 7:04spoilers. Absolutely.
- 7:06Been out since 1976. Yeah, but you know, if you were
- 7:09looking for a spoiler free review, this is not it.
- 7:13OK, Now that they're gone, did she start the fire in the bench,
- 7:18'cause I don't remember seeing, I don't remember seeing anything
- 7:20like she just put her sister in the bench after she had been
- 7:25strangled and then she goes to the community and then it just
- 7:28cuts back and the and there's like smoke pouring out of the
- 7:31bench. Well, she's playing with
- 7:33matches. Plays with matches a good bit,
- 7:37yeah. Yeah, so I it's like AII made a
- 7:41miss too. I thought I've, I always thought
- 7:44she struck a match and dropped it in.
- 7:47That's what I thought. She must have.
- 7:50I must have just missed it. There's not really a
- 7:52supernatural element here. It's just like.
- 7:55Yeah, see, that's what I thought.
- 7:56I was like, I was like, oh, they're going for like a
- 8:00supernatural religious thing because it's happening in a
- 8:03church. Yeah, no, no, it's just straight
- 8:07up like here you it's here's a couple crazy fucking people.
- 8:12Because even inside the apartment complex where you meet
- 8:14Mr. Alfonse, it's just like, dude, this guy is just like
- 8:17batshit. Like he's disgusting.
- 8:20Yeah, it's just a gross dude. It's insinuated.
- 8:23Bad. He's a pedophile.
- 8:26Yeah, it's insinuated that he's might lean that way, I think.
- 8:32He cornered Alice in fucking. Yeah.
- 8:35It's yeah, it's true. There might not be any defending
- 8:38that guy and I'm not trying to defend him anyway, but I'm just
- 8:40like, I don't know. I didn't.
- 8:43I for the rest of the time he's on screen.
- 8:46You don't get that vibe. No, he's just kind of like a big
- 8:50fat lazy guy and just kind of creepy and weird.
- 8:53But then again, there's like, there's a like a little bit of,
- 8:57of a pattern of adults like talking about this kid in a
- 9:02super inappropriate way. Like even the the detectives are
- 9:06like sexualizing her when they're talking about her.
- 9:11There's a whole, not. Trying, not trying to like
- 9:13defend it, but it was supposed to be in 1961, which is.
- 9:17Yeah, you could say it was a different time as much as you
- 9:19want, but that shit's still a little.
- 9:21Weird it was. I mean, we already know it was a
- 9:23super fuck time to begin with, so like, they didn't give a
- 9:25fuck. Oh yeah.
- 9:27Yeah, bad, Bad time to be a child.
- 9:30Even worse time to be a little girl at that point in time,
- 9:33because no matter what you did, you were either stupid or
- 9:37sexualized. It's this movie.
- 9:41It's it's good that you guys brought that up because this
- 9:42movie is very much a product of its time.
- 9:45While trailblazing ahead of a lot of other horror movies of
- 9:48its time, because this movie has like a lot of like it.
- 9:52It's definitely inspired by Hitchcock.
- 9:56Like you could tell with like the the the camera and like the
- 10:00like the close close. Shot sound design.
- 10:03Sound design, how people are killed.
- 10:06You know the twist, you know, things like that.
- 10:10This is very Hitchcock. And it is interesting to see
- 10:13that evolved throughout the entire film because the movie,
- 10:17the movie does a lot of like trickery and it subverts your
- 10:20expectations. That's another thing that's
- 10:23coming up this week, right? The subversion of expectation.
- 10:25That's what this movie does. And it does a lot of magician
- 10:28tricks on your eyes too, because it fucking takes your focal
- 10:31points and has you focus somewhere else on the screen
- 10:34while something else is happening.
- 10:36Because the entire time, even me, I'm like, oh, it's yeah, I
- 10:40haven't seen this movie in a long time, but you're like, Oh
- 10:43yeah, Alice is the killer, right?
- 10:44Like it's it's Alice. I mean, you see it happen right
- 10:48in the beginning. You see it happen right in the
- 10:50beginning, but like throughout the entire rest of the film,
- 10:52you're thinking it's all Alice, all Alice.
- 10:57And it's not, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's like a magician's
- 10:59trick. And it's like, wow, that was
- 11:01really smart. It's it's smart filmmaking and
- 11:04it's grainy as fuck at times. And I there's something about
- 11:08that that I really like about this film.
- 11:10It's almost charming that they that this movie looks, sounds
- 11:14and acts the way it acts. It is almost like a middle
- 11:17finger to that modern time period because like I said, like
- 11:22it to me, a movie like this trail blazes.
- 11:25It never became what like the other big horror movies at the
- 11:28time became, but it's stuck around, which is good.
- 11:33Yeah, it. Really has like.
- 11:36Sorry, who? Who's going to go?
- 11:38I was. I was going to say I just, I've
- 11:39never seen this movie up until now.
- 11:41I'm a part of a bunch of like core groups on shit book and
- 11:47someone posted their VHS copy of this and I was like, what is
- 11:52this? Literally like maybe a week ago?
- 11:54And then I was looking for a film to watch and I was like, oh
- 11:57sweet, let's watch. It that thing.
- 11:59Yeah, it has it has pretty good scores on on the sites.
- 12:04Like it's got a 71 on Rotten Tomatoes and a four out of five
- 12:09from this Arrow video. I mean, like it, it does kind of
- 12:16fall into a lot of the tropes that movies from this time did.
- 12:21Like you're saying, it is very much a product of its time, but
- 12:23it it feels a little bit smarter than some of those movies.
- 12:27I mean, we talked about Road Games last week, which I think
- 12:32is from, I don't remember what year Rd.
- 12:35Games is from, but it's a similar sort of situation where
- 12:39it was like just sort of a middle of the road movie, but
- 12:42the writing is a little bit like better than you expect.
- 12:46OK so Rd. Games is 10 years after this
- 12:49one. Still, though, that it's that
- 12:51same time period where, like, people are starting to
- 12:54experiment. Yeah.
- 12:56And the movies that do it well almost don't get seen.
- 13:00That's some it's it's it's weird.
- 13:02It's weird 'cause like This and Road Games are two very
- 13:06different films that are very daring in their own sense.
- 13:10That makes sense. I don't know.
- 13:12But the, the, the similarity I'm pulling is that like Rd. games
- 13:16had an interesting, it was written really well where it
- 13:20didn't really focus as much on the like the slasher aspect as
- 13:25it did on the mystery of it, where this one also feels like
- 13:28it has all of those, all of that like writing quality.
- 13:34But then you do get more of the slasher stuff.
- 13:37So it feels a little more filled out then then a movie like Rd.
- 13:42Games did. But all the all of that is just
- 13:44to like give flowers to the writing because the whole movie,
- 13:49like I, I felt like I knew what was going on and then as soon as
- 13:54the like twist and reveal happens, I'm like, OK, so I
- 13:58don't really know anything then. That movie, that's like, that's
- 14:03why I said the movie. It's, it's like a, it does
- 14:05magician tricks to like subvert you away from what is actually
- 14:08happening. That's why I say it's like very
- 14:10ADHD. It's like 1 minute it's doing
- 14:12this, the next minute there's a noise here, but then there's a
- 14:14conversation and there's like all this like almost shocking,
- 14:19like shit on the screen really like don't know what to look at
- 14:23'cause I'm like watching Alice interact with this fat guy, like
- 14:27big disgusting dude. And it's like there's other shit
- 14:30really happening around. So I'm like trying to focus on
- 14:32the cat, trying to focus on them talking, I'm trying to focus on
- 14:35a bull falling. And it's like, what the fuck
- 14:37dude? Like the movie's very good at
- 14:39setting that up and letting you know if you're catching it.
- 14:42Like we are going to distract you and we're going to pull you
- 14:45away from what is happening so we can then later rug pull you.
- 14:48And I like that. I thought that was very
- 14:50intelligent of the film. And it felt very like, natural,
- 14:54like the world feels very lived in when the three kids go down
- 14:58to Mr. Alfonso to give him the cake.
- 15:02Yeah, they, the other kids, like, don't react at all because
- 15:05they've seen this guy a million times.
- 15:08Yeah. Like every, it feels like it's
- 15:11very lived in. Like it's an actual community
- 15:16that everyone knows everybody type of thing 'cause they're all
- 15:18going to the same church, right? Like, this movie does revolve
- 15:22around religion quite a bit, namely Catholicism.
- 15:27Yeah, 'cause there's confession. So it's Catholicism.
- 15:31And they play a lot into that too.
- 15:33And that it actually becomes way more important in the last 30
- 15:37minutes of the film. Yeah, the the religious aspect
- 15:41of it kind of comes in closer to the end.
- 15:45But when it does, it's like you, you realize, like this was what
- 15:48it was about the whole time. Yeah, yeah, which is great.
- 15:55May I ask Alex, what was the cover of that VHS?
- 15:59Was it the mask or her? Like in the rain jacket with the
- 16:03mask on? No, it was a crazy cover because
- 16:07it was part of a Alfred solo box set.
- 16:11OK, because and they found it part of a what?
- 16:16Oh the the dude who wrote the film.
- 16:20Oh, OK. He just found it at a fucking
- 16:25thrift store. Go figure.
- 16:28I'd never find good shit at a thrift store.
- 16:30That pisses me off. Dude Final boss finds like big
- 16:34box PC games at thrift stores. I've done it.
- 16:38I've never found one. I used to go like.
- 16:41I always look at the DVDs or the movies.
- 16:43I used to go multiple times a week too, so like.
- 16:46I found a a John Wayne box set of four VHSS.
- 16:53Got a super Nintendo for 6 bucks.
- 16:56What? Yeah, with.
- 16:59Goof Troop and it works. Let's go love it for me.
- 17:05I first saw this movie at a Walmart or on Halloween because
- 17:11I used when I was collecting DVDs, which I wish I still did,
- 17:14but they're kind of not as accessible anymore unless you're
- 17:17like going to disc replay. And I really don't want to go to
- 17:20disc replay. It always smells like stale
- 17:22cigarettes in there, and there's just.
- 17:23Oh, it's not that bad. The well, I live downriver.
- 17:27Oh, OK yeah, Westland one's fine.
- 17:30Westland. I like the Westland one that I
- 17:32so here. Here's the funny story.
- 17:33Guitar Hero controller there. Very good.
- 17:36I almost picked up the entire Guinea pig Japanese box set from
- 17:40there and I looked up and went you don't I in my hands, they're
- 17:44selling it for 40 bucks. I went, you don't know what you
- 17:46have here. And the guy went what?
- 17:49And then he get he took it and he goes, oh, that's mispriced.
- 17:51And I went fuck. Why would you say that?
- 17:54I I wasn't thinking what is that?
- 17:57The entire sleep away camp Survival kit.
- 17:59Oh, that's. That is nice.
- 18:02Which I got from disc replay for like 70 bucks.
- 18:06That is nice. That is a nice.
- 18:08That's tough. Yeah, no other DVD.
- 18:12I mean, I I was worth it. It was worth it because I was
- 18:16looking for them individually for a very long time.
- 18:18And then one day I was like, oh, there's a whole set.
- 18:21I'm just going to drop the money.
- 18:22I don't care. I popped AI popped ADVD into my
- 18:25Xbox the other day and it played and I something about that made
- 18:29me so happy. Physical media.
- 18:33I love it, love it, but yeah, I know I fucked myself out of
- 18:35getting that though. So did you said you got this on
- 18:39Halloween? Did you watch this on Halloween?
- 18:43We did so it was like me and a bunch of friends when we I had
- 18:49my first apartment, like I said, we were at Walmart because
- 18:53Walmart if for those who don't know, I don't know if they'll
- 18:55still do it, but in their movie section because I hate Walmart.
- 18:59I hate going there but Halloween go to the movie section and they
- 19:04sell. They sell like a bunch of dope
- 19:05ass Halloween movies for like 5 bucks and I saw Alice Sweet
- 19:10Alice. If I had time to get my ass up
- 19:12and go run to my shelf I would go crap but I'm not doing that.
- 19:15They had Alice Sweet Alice there and I remember seeing the mask
- 19:21cover. I was like what is this?
- 19:23I picked it up and I watched it. I was like in my 20s at this
- 19:26time and I was like, oh, this is fucking crazy.
- 19:29I watched it. We watched it as a group.
- 19:31Yeah, on Halloween we ate a bunch of Little Caesars, had
- 19:34Arizona RXS and watched this and went, that was fucking weird.
- 19:39Anyways, and I think we put on like Halloween.
- 19:42Yeah, it definitely feels. Like Halloween, but.
- 19:44It definitely feels like something you might watch and
- 19:47you're like, OK, that wasn't really what I was hoping for,
- 19:51but it's more of a, it's more of like a low key really kind of
- 19:57absorb it movie. But it's not slow burn.
- 20:01It's a. Cinema.
- 20:01No, it's. Horror movie.
- 20:03It it is, it very much is, but it's not slow burn, which is
- 20:07crazy. It's.
- 20:08Chaotic the whole time, yeah, yeah, it's.
- 20:11Like I said, it's constantly there's, I wouldn't say noisy,
- 20:15but there's just always something happening, happening,
- 20:18happening. You're like fucking slow down.
- 20:21But it's not to the detriment of the film, right?
- 20:23It's it's it's actually helping the film progress.
- 20:26Yeah, I think it. Helped be better.
- 20:28So if if it was slower you would have more time to potentially
- 20:34put things together. Yeah.
- 20:36And it feels like for the characters, everything is just
- 20:39happening back-to-back for them. They don't have any time to
- 20:42figure things out. So to put you in that same
- 20:46mindset, I think is to its benefit.
- 20:50Yeah, no, I agree. I agree.
- 20:52I I I love this film. I I love, I love the mask that
- 20:55is used in this film. The at the beginning with the
- 20:58double mask is super creepy, but it's also a fucking like it's a
- 21:06what is it called? Like a look to it's like a look
- 21:10to the future. What's that called?
- 21:12Like foreshadowing. It's foreshadowing who the
- 21:14actual killer is cuz it's an old.
- 21:16It's like an old woman mask under the mask.
- 21:18Yeah, Oh, look at, look at that, man.
- 21:21See, that's what there's that kind of stuff that I'm talking
- 21:23about. It's little touches in the
- 21:24writing that just make it just that much better.
- 21:29There's little bread crumbs. You can pick them up as you go.
- 21:32Yep, Yep, Yep, Yep. I guess we won't.
- 21:35Well, I guess I technically spoiled it, but we've already.
- 21:37Spoiled it, We said spoil. Yeah, yeah.
- 21:40It's it's the old church lady, an old housekeeper lady.
- 21:44It it's, it's the it's that woman and she kills people
- 21:50because she's worried someone's going to take her place as like
- 21:54the assistant to the the Monsignor what or the priest.
- 21:59Yeah, which like I. Think she's in love with the
- 22:02priest, I think. Yeah, if you've ever watched the
- 22:05Midnight Mass series, they got a lot of the same vibes.
- 22:09Like the whole thing is the driven by this one woman who's
- 22:12like obsessed with the priest. And you sort of get a bit of
- 22:15that here where she's like, they're going to take my spot, I
- 22:18have to kill them. But then at the same time, like
- 22:21the daughter is killing people too.
- 22:23But at the end, it's just like everybody kind of just ignores
- 22:28that it was definitely Alice who killed her sister.
- 22:31I want to put, I want to see if we can put that to rest.
- 22:33I'm going to look it up right now because I think we may have
- 22:35missed saw something that. Alice I I think the implication
- 22:38is that since you see the old woman misses what's her name,
- 22:43Trudoni do kill, like do a murder right at the end.
- 22:47The implication is that we'd everyone now assumes that it was
- 22:51her the whole time. Yeah, and Alice.
- 22:54And Alice is going to get away with it, yeah.
- 22:57'Cause she slides the knife, she she takes the knife.
- 23:00Somehow she gets the knife. I don't.
- 23:02I didn't see her take it. No, that's the whole.
- 23:05Point Alice didn't kill her sister.
- 23:07No, it was Trudoni the whole time.
- 23:09Yeah, it was Trudoni. So that's another we.
- 23:12We might need to rewatch that opening scene.
- 23:15It was never Alice. It was never Alice.
- 23:18God, it really. Feels like the real killer is
- 23:21the housekeeper Mr. Dhoni, which we know who murders Karen during
- 23:25her first communing communion believing it's her duty to
- 23:29punish the parents for their sins.
- 23:32She goes into that whole rant right because.
- 23:34Of the Yeah, because her daughter died on the day of her
- 23:37first communion. House being framed due to retro
- 23:41behavior yeah so yeah no, we need to like rewatch that
- 23:44opening scene because like even. This is what I'm talking about.
- 23:46There's all that. Like we got completely baited.
- 23:50I love it. I love.
- 23:52That yeah, I mean, on one hand, I'm like, this movie got one
- 23:58over on us, like. In like the best way it's
- 24:01possible. But it's we don't.
- 24:03Usually get tricked. No, usually we're, we're good
- 24:06about that. But I I mean.
- 24:09Did Alice not kill Karen? Alice didn't kill anybody.
- 24:13Nope. Nope.
- 24:15She's just, she's just a, you know, a troubled little girl.
- 24:19She was in the wrong place at the wrong time and also was
- 24:23wearing the the yellow raincoat and the mask.
- 24:28Was that her that stabbed? No, the aunt.
- 24:32No, that's Trudoni. How the fuck she get broke?
- 24:37I definitely. I don't think that Alice is.
- 24:40Looking at that's that, that's what, that's what.
- 24:43It's hard. It's hard to know, that's what
- 24:44the director said, because the movie's never clear about that.
- 24:47So Alice goes into the into his house or his apartment, pays the
- 24:53rent, acts, you know, he's being a shithead.
- 24:55So she kill well, she kills the cat.
- 24:57She does kill the cat. She definitely killed that cat.
- 25:01Yeah, because he says. But she but she hightails it
- 25:03downstairs and there's another entrance that Trudoni probably
- 25:09comes in right there. Well, it seemed like she she
- 25:12goes down like the basement and she has like a weird little
- 25:17stash down there. Yeah, which I mean, that is it
- 25:22is weird with the Yeah, unless she found Trudoni's shit in the
- 25:29basement was like, this is creepy and I'm kind of a fucked
- 25:31up kid. I'm.
- 25:32Going to play with this shit. But that would make sense to why
- 25:39if it was Alice or it wasn't Alice, that she didn't kill
- 25:43Alfonso right there off RIP for doing what he did and went down
- 25:47to aunt instead. Well, even when he was sleeping,
- 25:50she just put roaches on him. She's like, she's just.
- 25:52She's just, she's just going to. Fuck with them, yeah.
- 25:55And she had every chance right there to.
- 25:58Yeah, he has sleep apnea. That's a really funny shot, by
- 26:00the way. When he stands up, he's got the
- 26:02rodent. The Roaches dude grows up like a
- 26:04fucking Skyrim garden, you see. How it wild?
- 26:08How do you even do that? I think that I think it was a,
- 26:11it was a reverse shot. I think it was a reverse shot.
- 26:14Which I think actually he's. A very loud man.
- 26:17Yeah, but I think it helped for the film, because this film's
- 26:19already kind of wacky. Yeah, I love it.
- 26:22I love it. I actually have a photo that
- 26:24I'll share after recording because I can't minimize my
- 26:26screen of when the first mask is taken off.
- 26:31OK. You get a clear shot of the
- 26:33other mask. Definitely worth a watch.
- 26:35I hope you watched it. If you're listening to this, I
- 26:37hope you've paused it before we spoiled it.
- 26:41Yes, you went and watched it because it's 100% it's worth
- 26:47it's it's worth you watching it with fresh eyes.
- 26:50Yeah, yes, we ready for this movie's ratings.
- 26:55Also, the kills are cool. Yeah, they're they're like old
- 26:58proto. Rant rant, yeah.
- 27:02They're simple. I don't want to spoil the kills
- 27:04because they are fun, simple kills.
- 27:06You should go watch this film. But Alex, it's your movie.
- 27:08Why don't you start us off? Give it a three out of five.
- 27:13Cool. Solid flick what?
- 27:18Do you think? You guys, you.
- 27:23You too. Alex, are you done or you got
- 27:25more? I'm done.
- 27:27OK. I'm boys, don't make that.
- 27:34Oh, it's my turn. I was waiting for you.
- 27:36Oh, you didn't say it. Look.
- 27:38At that dead air. I'll fix it.
- 27:40I might keep it in. It's funny.
- 27:42I'm going to give this A5 out of five because because and I don't
- 27:47think it's a perfect film. I think it's a perfect horror
- 27:51film though. So I'm going to give it a 5 out
- 27:54of five because of what this movie does.
- 27:57And knowing that it tricked all three of us in the beginning
- 28:00makes it that much more perfect for me.
- 28:03It this movie, like I said, it's it's like watching a magician do
- 28:07magic and it is constantly making you look the other way
- 28:11and you think you're on the right trail.
- 28:12You think you know what's being done you and you just don't.
- 28:15And I love it. I I love these old flicks that
- 28:19are ahead of their time. And I just, I want more people
- 28:22to see this because I'm just curious, like what they think.
- 28:26So yeah, 5 out of 5 for me. I'm going to say 4 out of five.
- 28:31I was going to give it a three out of five until I realized
- 28:36that the movie tricked us. So 4 out of five, because the
- 28:40writing was so good that it managed to fool us.
- 28:45We thought we knew what was going on and we did not.
- 28:48So 4 out of five, great movie, great story, well thought out.
- 28:53It all kind of comes together in the end.
- 28:57There's still a little bit of theorizing you can do.
- 28:59Is there any sequel or any sort of I anything to come out of
- 29:03this? I don't, no.
- 29:05Good question. I don't think so.
- 29:08This could make a good remake potentially.
- 29:11I think, I think if there were to be like a remake, 2023, there
- 29:17was a remake. Who was in it?
- 29:23I, I I don't know. 2023. There was, oh, there was no
- 29:28official Alice We Alice remake released 2023, but there's an
- 29:31ongoing development for one directed by Dante Tomaselli.
- 29:39Tomaselli, who teased casting news Catherine Morrison as the
- 29:44mother. That's from 2013, 2014.
- 29:49All right, so there's no. It's not.
- 29:51Well, there's. No anything.
- 29:53No, it's not going to happen. Well, there's no it's not going
- 29:59to happen. You know, sometimes that's
- 30:01better. Yeah, that's fine.
