- 0:00Time now for back to the basics in healthcare with Balanced Life Chiropractic. And
- 0:03we have doctor Harley joining us the day after Halloween. That's kind of fun.
- 0:08It's November right, Oh my gosh, it's November already. How did
- 0:12like I thought the way about October? Like, where did that? Oh?
- 0:14This whole year I was told the older you get, the faster things
- 0:17go, and I didn't think that was And all of a sudden, as
- 0:19I'm getting old, I'm like, wait, what year is it again?
- 0:21I mean, I'm not even that old yet, and I feel like the
- 0:23years go by faster. It is zoom faster. So this time of year,
- 0:26we started getting the cold weather. We had a preview of this last
- 0:30week and now we'll have more cold weather coming. So this time of year
- 0:33when it does get cold, people like it all shivery and like tense up.
- 0:37That's gotta make a like a difference in their overall health, doesn't it.
- 0:41You definitely notice more of those aches and pains, you know, some
- 0:44people talk about the chill gets in their bones or the ache and their joints
- 0:47because of the cold weather. So definitely the time of you just start bundling
- 0:51up. So you're not hunching over shivering and potentially throwing some things out of
- 0:55whack, because potentially, if you shiver hard hard enough, you could definitely
- 0:59throw something out in your back, or you know you're moving all that snow
- 1:02or raking leaves, or you know you're not warming up as much because we
- 1:06don't necessarily think about it's like, oh, I better get stretched and warmed
- 1:08up before I go outside, and then we get hurt or we feel it
- 1:11more the next day. So definitely this time of year, try to be
- 1:17more mindful of how you're doing things, being more careful walking because it's getting
- 1:21a little bit icy. Yeah, talk a lot about more winter safety as
- 1:25the next couple of weeks come along, because it's definitely important this time yere
- 1:27as we start getting more and more snow and ice and the cold. And
- 1:30this weekend we change our clocks. We all get one extra hour and some
- 1:34people choose to sleep through that. Do you sleep through that hour? Uh?
- 1:38Definitely. I enjoyed that extra hour. See you get an extra hour
- 1:41sleep. I've always decided, like this is maybe the last ten years or
- 1:44so, I've decided I'm going to use that hour to do something. I
- 1:46wouldn't typically do because it's the one day a year where you literally have twenty
- 1:49five hours, So use that to do something good. Yeah, I'm talking
- 1:53with you about that. It's like, you know, that's a good idea.
- 1:55I really should start thinking about that. You know, every year I'm
- 1:57like, oh, this should be the time I go work out, and
- 2:00it's like, oh, it's cozy in bed, I'm tired of Well,
- 2:01I'm not working out. Don't talk crazy talk here, I'm not doing that.
- 2:05That's my ambition is to use that time to work out. I don't
- 2:08have to do it a different time of the day. But that time change
- 2:13that happens this weekend, does that also make differences in people's health? Do
- 2:16you see people where they have issues because they're, you know, trying to
- 2:20get used to the new timeframes. I'm not so sure if it's the time
- 2:23change or if it's just the temperature change, because this is the time it
- 2:25really starts getting colder as we get into November, and you know, we
- 2:30just had Halloween, which is a huge candy holiday, especially for those kiddos.
- 2:34You gonna have a sugar high till Thursday or Friday, right, so
- 2:36that sugar overload. You know, weekends our immune system, so don't be
- 2:39surprised if your kiddos might be a little stick in the next week or two.
- 2:43So just I feel like the time change is just like a time of
- 2:46year change, so much as we're getting into holidays now and stress of shopping.
- 2:52And I always encourage people like this day after Halloween to teach your kids
- 2:55about taxes by taking at least ten percent of their candy and then let them
- 3:00know this is this is like taxing. I'm the government, this candy tax.
- 3:04Take your favorites too, don't take the ones they don't want. Maybe
- 3:06you should teach high school government. I should, and then I get all
- 3:09their candy too. Now, if somebody has a serious question, like an
- 3:14actual health question, and they'd like to reach out to you at Balance Life
