- 1:53my face, in my box here and my name. This week is how
- 1:56many plot holes we got on this ship? But the rules does it auto
- 2:05correct? Auto correct? Damn it. It's supposed because it's a bumpy ship.
- 2:10I get it. Yeah, God, supposed to. It's supposed to
- 2:15say plot holes and and you have to you have to read it in Rick
- 2:19Moranis's voice from uh from space from Spaceballs, so gotcha. Wow. Jokes
- 2:27are always funnier when you have to explain them. They are, they are.
- 2:30This one must be hilarious, you know for those of you who are

- 3:15I'll be right. Yeah. Hey, they both work, they both
- 3:19work how's your guys this week? Oh like that? All right? Yeah?
- 3:31I think, uh, I think I talked about it last week that
- 3:36I now manage two regions instead of one. Yes, yeah, it's a
- 3:42lot of work with twice twice the benefits. Exactly. Yes, that's exactly.
- 3:47That's exactly what they did. So it's a lot of work and I'm
- 3:53playing catch up. And uh, yeah, I made my plan for New
- 4:00York. I got my hotels booked and my flights and all that. Yeah,
- 4:03you know what change of plans. I spoke to Duval. Yeah,
- 4:08and he's he said he's got a set of cots in his so we can
- 4:12all there from the cots. Yeah. He said. It's actually not his
- 4:21apartment's his grandma's apartment. She's cool with us staying there. Yeah, I'm
- 4:30excited. I'm going to get a chop cheese apparently, so oh man,
- 4:38that's gonna be it. Yeah, you guys did that fun. I wish
- 4:40I could be there, But you guys are gonna have fun. You can't
- 4:44know one no one said you can't be there. We had before. I
- 4:47have invited you, and I have a and and there are tens of people
- 4:55that listen to this podcast. Some would say doesn't nearly dozens, Some would
- 5:01say dozens. Yeah, you're you're going on a cruise instead, right,
- 5:05Yes, I'm going on a cruise with my family instead. Okay, Yeah,
- 5:10I mean I always thought the trek Cass was a family. That's wow,
- 5:13the way I thought about it. Wow, it was a tough decision.
- 5:16It was. It really was. And you'll be stressing over it with
- 5:20his little like drinks of little umbrellas in it. Lest absolutely, yeah,
- 5:27out the Caribbean. That's right, that's right, that's right. Yeah.
- 5:33So yeah, my week was. My week was pretty much on eventful though.
- 5:39Friday I did I had a chance to go to a Patriot Guard mission.
- 5:42We had a funeral for a for a military veteran and that was it
- 5:47was very Uh they always do a really good job. We had lunch with
- 5:51the State Bride Captain. I was going to ask you if I could spend
- 5:57sixty seconds talking about that for those for you who don't you know, yeah,
- 6:01you can always Okay, you have to ask. Okay, So for
- 6:08those of you who don't know the Patriot Guard Riders, they're they're a nonprofit
- 6:12outfit whose primary mission is to attend funeral services for uh follen service members,
- 6:17veterans and first responders. They're in every state, right, they are in
- 6:21every state. Ye. They they also attend memorial the events and welcome home
- 6:27ceremonies and stuff like that. And I've just found that it's you know,
- 6:30it's been a good way to get back and to say thanks, you know
- 6:33for those who sort of you know, stood up for us. Now,
- 6:38I happen to be an Army veteran and I ride a motorcycle, but you
- 6:41don't have to be either one to join. There's there's guys that show up
- 6:43that that are part of the Patriot Guard that they're not veterans. They just
- 6:46you know, have a respect for our men and women in uniform and they
- 6:49show up in cars and you know, so you don't have to be a
- 6:51motorcycle rider. You don't have to be a veteran. So if if you
- 6:56want more information about the Patriot Guard, if you want to request them or
- 7:00a funeral, or if you want to join the Patriot Guard permissions, just
- 7:01go to Patriot Guard dot org. So, so thank you guys. Yeah,
- 7:10absolutely, all right, Well let's uh that's all that. Let's get
- 7:14to the news Star Trek News. All right, so our first news story.
- 7:21Stop me if you heard this, but Paramount is in uh talks.
- 7:28I don't, I don't even I don't even know the story. And I'm
- 7:30like, this is either this is either Paramount is for sale or Star Trek
- 7:34four as a goat one of the two. That's the stories we keep hearing.
- 7:41Yeah. Yeah, Apparently Sony and a private equity firm called Apollo Global
- 7:47Management are in talks to work together to make a bid to purchase Paramount,
- 7:56and so we don't know much more right now, but we do know that
- 8:01that currently Paramount is talking with a separate company, Skydance Media. So this
- 8:05would be independent of sky Dance. This would be a different offer with Sony
- 8:11and Apollo. It's still very early. We don't We have no idea what
- 8:15the amount would be. We have no idea what Sony's plans with Paramount.
- 8:20But for me, this gives a little bit of pause. Sky Dance you
- 8:24kind of know what you're getting. They they made the last two Star Trek
- 8:28movies, so you get an idea of where they're going, probably more of
- 8:31the same where we're currently at with Star Trek. But Sony, for me
- 8:37it's you're either gonna get Spider Verse sony, which is good and knows what
- 8:43they're doing, or you're gonna get Madam Webb's Sony, which is gonna be
- 8:48even worse than what we got now. So it's it's really tough to say.
- 8:54I just can't wait for the lower decks Morbius crossover that the yes,
- 9:01yes. The other thing is, I mean I've never bought or sold a
- 9:11movie studio or a media empire or whatever. Trying to let me check my
- 9:18if I check it, check it real quick. Yeah, I have bought
- 9:22and sold a few cars. And you know, uh, someone's kicking the
- 9:26tires. They're on the fence, and you talk about the guy who was
- 9:31here yesterday who's coming by h later with his uncle to kind of move things
- 9:35along. So I don't put stock. I don't put stock in anything that
- 9:39these people, any of these people say so far, they've talked to like
- 9:43Warner Brothers and yeah, yeah, sky Dance, and I think there's it's
- 9:48getting to the point where it's a joke. Like I was gonna say,
- 9:50can we contact the people at the Onion and haven't run a story that we're
- 9:54gonna buy it yeah, because then they were going to merge with Apple to
- 9:56create a new streamer. We can merge with Comcast do a news streamer like
- 10:01and again to continue with the used car analogy. Yeah, when when something
- 10:07is listed for sale past a certain period of time, people start looking at
- 10:13it differently and saying something wrong with that, what's wrong with this? What's
- 10:16wrong If you saw a motorcycle and and you know in the kind of date
- 10:20myself, but you saw a closified ad for for a motorcycle, absolutely,
- 10:24and it's like, that's a great price, and for whatever reason, you
- 10:26don't follow up on it, and six weeks later it's still for sale.
- 10:31Oh there's something wrong with it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, why are
- 10:35there only photographs from the right side of the bike, Yes, yes,
- 10:41yeah, it's uh, it'll be interesting to see what happens. This is
- 10:45so early on that we can't say like, oh, yeah, Sony's gonna
- 10:48buy them, or Skydance or whatever. Yeah. Clearly Paramount is for sale,
- 10:54so any future plans that they're seeing right now could go right out the
- 10:58window the minute there's Boston to Yeah. Yeah. Speaking of New Boss,
- 11:05so we mentioned last week that Lower Decks was was getting axed. This week,
- 11:09we're learning that Mike mahon is getting a Golden Axe. According to polygon
- 11:15dot Com, Mike Mahon is going to be spearheading a new show for I
- 11:22believe it's Comedy Central. He's going to do a take on Sega's Golden Axe
- 11:28game. Oh when you said Golden Axe, I thought you were like,
- 11:33my mind went to this game. Yeah, that's the But I also thought,
- 11:37you know, now he's just making a pun about him getting the axe.
- 11:41Yeah, go ahead, Sorry, Okay, So so they have a
- 11:46ten episode order. I had seen some people online talk about like, oh,
- 11:50this means he's ready to move on. He's getting rid of a he's
- 11:54getting rid of lower decks. So that's it. There's no chance in saving
- 11:56lower decks. Look, these kinds of things take forever to make into fruition.
- 12:01He had probably planned to do Lower Decks and Golden Axe at the same
- 12:05time. I mean, seth mcmarlin does like a million cartoon shows all at
- 12:09once. Yeah. Yeah, that's not the case. It's just they announced
- 12:13it right after and it's just timing. Yeah. Yeah, I remember playing
- 12:18this game, and I remember playing it and thinking almost man. Yeah yeah,
- 12:26yeah. Sandals Fantasy. Yeah almost. I think I played it three
- 12:31times in total on the second Genesis. Okay, to beare that Golden Axe
- 12:37is a holo program? Could have been? Could have been because I mistake
- 12:43Golden Axe altered beasts sometimes. Yeah, very similar Gauntlet Yeah yeah, but
- 12:52yeah, Strong Beard is about to die. God, I love Gotlin.
- 12:56That's such a fun game. Yeah yeah strong Beard food ye yes, oh
- 13:05boy, I'm gonna say that at the convention. Uh, makeup T shirts.
- 13:13Strong Beard is about to die. Yeah. So this would be on
- 13:18Comedy Central. Ten episodes, so I don't have a release date yet.
- 13:22It's just announcing so on Comedy Central. Yeah all right, well I guess
- 13:28it's a comedy. Yeah, it'll be a gardee show. I mean it's
- 13:33lower decks right kind of. And then our last news story, it's an
- 13:37update from a story we did a while back star Trek four no from UPI
- 13:43dot com. Remember we talked about that Starship Enterprise model that had been discovered
- 13:48at an auction house. So it ended up it finally got returned to the
- 13:52Roddenberry's earlier this week. That's the model right there with Rod Roddenberry. But
- 14:00yeah, so it's back home it's pretty cool. Look at model. You
- 14:05know, it's funny. You read the article, yeah, and it says,
- 14:11you know, you go to way down to the bottom. It says
- 14:13how the model was returned and that was facilitated through such and such auction house,
- 14:20right, and you know that I read it between the lines. Somebody
- 14:24contacted eBay, somebody subpoened the contact information for the person who had it for
- 14:31sale, and that guy was sent notice that hey, this item was stolen
- 14:37in nineteen seventy three or whatever. You're in possession of stolen property, return
- 14:43it now or face the consequences. I mean, it doesn't matter when it
- 14:48was stolen. It's stolen property. That's it. If they can produce an
- 14:52LAPD you know, incident report from nineteen seventy three that establishes that this is
- 14:58stole and property, that's it, they get it back. So the article
- 15:01makes makes like, you know, they did this wonderful thing and gave it
- 15:05back. No, No, you got a nasty Graham that said this thing
- 15:11is stolen shipping to back. Yeah, which it's fine, it's back on
- 15:16the right hands. Yeah, absolutely, But yeah, it's just funny.
- 15:22It's it's back. So yeah, and that's all the news stories. Cool.
- 15:26Yeah, yay, you guys ready to talk about this week's episode.
- 15:33Yeah, before we do, just wanted to tell everybody too if you hadn't
- 15:37seen it. The panel that the Now Visitor did is up on YouTube and
- 15:45on the So I went to Comic Con last weekend, and when I was
- 15:50when we did the show last weekend, it was Sunday. We still had
- 15:54a little bit of a comic Con left over. So after I did the
- 15:56show, I went to no Visitors panel and I went up and I and
- 16:03I asked UH the I asked the perennial trek cast question about this yep,
- 16:10yep, and and so I asked her about you know who who who was
- 16:14the best cook? And I told her that I had been to the same
- 16:17panel a year before with Terry Farrell and UH and Shran helped me out,
- 16:26guys, oh oh, Jeffrey Combs, thank you. And UH said that
- 16:33her name had popped up in that answer, and we had a nice little
- 16:37discussion about it. She mentioned UH. She mentioned she was going over to
- 16:41somebody's house this weekend. She says she hangs out with like Michael Dorn and
- 16:44hangs out with a lot of the crew. They she talked about Rene I
- 16:51think I got that ninety three percent right, and and nog And we talked
- 16:57a little bit about that. Yeah. So what did she say about her
- 17:02being a good cook? Would she? Yeah, she said she does cook.
- 17:04She she often cooked. She mentioned a recipe. So yeah, go
- 17:10go on, uh go on the trek cast uh facebook page and yeah,
- 17:15right right, hot sprat. Yeah, it was a it was a good
- 17:21panel, about fifty five minutes log. It was a it was a really
- 17:22good panel. Awesome. Yeah, yeah, So check that out on the
- 17:26Trekast YouTube channel and Facebook page right on. Well, cool, cool,
- 17:33all right, Well let's uh, let's get to it because I know we
- 17:34want to talk about this week's episode, so fun will now come back,
- 17:44all right, So our main topic is is kind of going over this week's
- 17:47episode of Star Trek Discovery Season five, episode four, Face the Strange.
- 17:52Let me just read real quick the official log line, which is on the
- 17:56way to the next clue. The USS Discovery is sabotage by a mysterious weapon,
- 18:02leaving Captain Urnham, Rayner and Stammets as the only crew members who can
- 18:06possibly save the ship in time. So I mean that pretty much sums it
- 18:11up. Yes, it does. We did get a little quick early shot
- 18:19of our Bonnie and Clyde couple, and and you don't mess with them because
- 18:25they will poison money. So that was interesting. Yeah, there was no
- 18:34chemistry between the two of those. No, there's not. There is not.
- 18:38They that kiss was forced. I get the feeling that she's gonna take
- 18:47him out at some point. I don't. I don't think this is real.
- 18:53Yeah, I get that feeling too. Yeah, you get that feeling
- 18:56too. And they did that thing that I said that I hate where they
- 18:59go a teen hours earlier, and I'm like, ah, it's confusing because
- 19:03it didn't do it. I understand why they do it sometimes, but why
- 19:04they did it in this episode. It was confusing enough with all the timeline
- 19:10jumps. Oh wait, I can fire, buddy, you can't. I've
- 19:15gone I've gone down that road. It doesn't work. Yeah, I've been
- 19:18down that road. Yeah, some things just can't be fixed exactly. Sometimes
- 19:23the effort is worth it, though, No, no it isn't. So
- 19:34basically, a time bug, which is a new thing we've now created,
- 19:38gets activated and basically creates a time loop for discovery and only Burnham and Book
- 19:48can get out of and stand it's can get out of it because they were
- 19:52or not a book, Yeah, can get out of it because they were
- 19:57transporting right when the bug activated, right in that second, they somehow got
- 20:02out of it. And uh yeah, what do we think of the concept
- 20:08of a time bug? Well, as ridiculous, as ridiculous as it was.
- 20:18Did you hear what type of device it was? Who created the device?
- 20:22Did you catch that it was? It was the Krenima remember that.
- 20:30Yep, the Crenim were from Voyager. That was the year of Hell people
- 20:33was supposed to cred so and and they said how these devices were left over
- 20:38from the Temporal Wars. So I thought it was I thought it was cool.
- 20:41This is my one good thing, remember my my new I'm gonna say
- 20:45one good thing about an episode. It was it was a nice callback to
- 20:49to the Krenium that they're still around mucketing with time and that they had a
- 20:55pivotal role in the in the Temporal Wars. So that was cool. The
- 21:02idea about the I mean, I think it was the same I think it
- 21:04was the same device that tried to kill Padme in her bedroom, right,
- 21:10Yeah, yeah, it was his bedroom. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah
- 21:19yeah. The conundrum that it created with the two of them hopping through hopping
- 21:26through different time periods but on but on Discovery, I understand what they were
- 21:33trying to do. This was essentially not the same, but it's similar to
- 21:37like a clips episode that they used to do in the in the nineteen eighties,
- 21:41where they show you highlights of past episodes. This is similar in that,
- 21:47oh, we're going to show you highlights of different periods of of this
- 21:52show and things we remember, situations we remember about this show. No Lorca,
- 22:02Yeah, called him this. He had this opportunity dropped him. You
- 22:06had this opportunity to bring back Lorca, You had this opportunity to bring back
- 22:11Giorgio. Who we know, who's there? She's there, She's been on
- 22:17set. Yeah, she's been on set film and hear her thirty one thing?
- 22:21Right? You know how hard would it have been to walk her across
- 22:23the street to the other studio for a couple hours? And what's Larka doing?
- 22:29I mean, you see a big time Hollywood does he doing whatever?
- 22:33I mean, he does a lot of like guest starring roles, and he
- 22:36does a lot of like, hey, I know a show he could have
- 22:37done a guest starring role on today. Ye, yes, it's Thursday,
- 22:41come on. But the time, yeah, the time back and forth.
- 22:45My my my wife, missus Strongbeard just asked, haven't they done a time
- 22:49loop episode in Star Trek before? Yeah? A lot a lot of Yeah,
- 22:55yeah, you know, but they've done them better, that's the thing.
- 23:00Yeah, I think they've done it in just about every in cardage of
- 23:03Star Trek, like where they're either doing a loop or they're going through different
- 23:07periods of time. I know they did want a voyager, you know where
- 23:11they're going through different you know parts of you know, the timeline, a
- 23:17few of them, and that I remember, Yeah, we could have been
- 23:21doing this hundreds thousands of times. So as they're as they're traveling through the
- 23:26ship, it keeps getting reset every few minutes. They realize, okay,
- 23:30we can get Stamts to help us. Because of his tartar grade magic blood,
- 23:36his magic blood, he's not affected, YadA, YadA YadA, So
- 23:40you know he's hopping through time. Also, he wakes up when he's severely
- 23:44injured and and he's talking gibberish to Hugh in the in the in the sick
- 23:49Bay. It was nice to Okay, I'll say two nice things. It
- 23:53was nice to see. It was nice to see Damn, it's have to
- 24:00revert to his old character traits to fit in, to fit in with being
- 24:06in a different time frame. It was nice. And he stam, it's
- 24:08acting like a total asshole again, but doing it for the purpose of completing
- 24:15the mission or for the purpose of the story, and and and knowing like
- 24:19and calling out, yeah, it used to be kind of a jerk,
- 24:22right, Yeah, that was that was cool to see. Cole in our
- 24:29in our Instagram says it was basically a call out. But the season seven
- 24:33episode of Voyager, Jane Way and Chicote are jumping through time splits of the
- 24:37ship. Yeah, that's what I was. Yeah. It's also very Avengers
- 24:45endgame, complete with uh, you know, Burnham looking at herself and saying,
- 24:52that's the Federation's ass exactly. So here's my problem. That's that's that's
- 25:00the major plot hole that really irks me about this episode. So she's basically
- 25:08fighting herself at one point, trying to convince herself I'm not a shape shifter,
- 25:15I'm you, I'm from the future and past Burnham, it just isn't
- 25:22having it. You are wearing a personal transporter slash tricorder slash replicator on your
- 25:33wrist slash. You have all of this thirty second century tech at your disposal.
- 25:40You've already established that as long as we complete this mission, the time
- 25:42loop will be closed and there'll be no damage done to the to the prime
- 25:48timeline. You can't convince her that you're from the thirty second century at that
- 25:53point or just call up your call up your your personal heads up display thing
- 26:03that comes out of your combatge and she's never seen anything like that before Burnham,
- 26:08even past Burnham is a scientist. You know, scan me, you'll
- 26:12see my temporal signature is different. It just it didn't. It didn't make
- 26:18any sense, you know what they're arguing about. Nothing Stunner, not for
- 26:23yes, thank you, thank you. There's I don't got time for stunn
- 26:30There's that I know I know that you want them to I'm kicking my ass,
- 26:34do you mind? Yeah, thank you, I'm kicking my ass.
- 26:40But uh, I know that, I know you want this tension between these
- 26:49two characters or this character and themselves, and that's fine, but you have
- 26:55to if you're going to create that. You have to do a better job
- 26:57writing. Yeah, you can't just assume that your audience is stupid and they're
- 27:03not gonna they're not gonna think these things, and it and it carries over
- 27:06because there's a point where, you know, Old Burnham defeats Young Burnham and
- 27:11her decides her only choices. I gotta make my way to the bridge and
- 27:14just come clean with the people up there. And she convinces Ariam who's in
- 27:22command of the ship, and Ariam is on board with doing this plan.
- 27:27They have to bring the ship to warp and then collapse the warp bubble at
- 27:32the same time as they, I don't know, try and trap the time
- 27:36bug in the mcguffin device or whatever. And they're all set. They're about
- 27:41to do it, and down in engineering young Burnham and what's his nuts?
- 27:47Uh, you know, they find Rainer and they're holding them at gunpoint.
- 27:52They won't they won't let him in. Stammets use the mcguffin device. Okay,
- 27:59Captain Burnham is on the bridge. Coms are open, Coms are open.
- 28:03She's she's talking to main engineering. They're arguing about this, and just
- 28:10sits there like I'm gonna see how this plays out. Right. She could
- 28:12have ordered, yes, just come over the coms and say, specialist Burnham,
- 28:19it's under control. Stand down. That's it. That's all you had.
- 28:23That's all it took. And if she didn't want to do it,
- 28:27all she had to say is lieutenant whatever his name is, make her stand
- 28:33down. But instead just sat there doing nothing. It was ridiculous. That
- 28:37made absolutely no sense whatsoever. Yeah. Yeah, holes all over the place.
- 28:45Yeah, it's terrible. It was. It was nice to see them
- 28:53again, to see them. Well I had three, but yeah again,
- 28:59well, it was nice to see them. I loved the interaction between jet
- 29:04Reno and Stamp. It's that was great. And I kind of called it
- 29:08just before she said something. I'm like, she's gonna figure it out,
- 29:12she's gonna say something. And they treated it differently than I would have.
- 29:17I would have made her realize it, but not make it a joke,
- 29:21because she's like, are you going through a time loop right now? Nah,
- 29:25I'm just messing with you. I would have kept it like that.
- 29:27She just intuited, Oh, you're going through a time loop right now?
- 29:32Huh? Yeah, Well what can I do to help? I guess,
- 29:34so I'm not gonna remember this, all right, whatever, you know,
- 29:37tell the captain to go f themselves or whatever she wanted to say, you
- 29:40know, since nobody's gonna remember this. I like that. Yeah, I
- 29:45love Yeah, she's great. She's just like I don't care. So she's
- 29:52so chill. I love her chill support. She did walk in and be
- 29:57like, where are my chips still? Jet Ryo in a quest for chips
- 30:03all season long? Yep, that'd be great, it would be great.
- 30:07Actually, oh yeah, but you're right, Dan, that was a big,
- 30:15big PLATFM terrible. It was so bad. Yeah, it was so
- 30:21bad. Yeah, it was cool to see the differences between like how far
- 30:26the characters have come along. Yeah, that was interesting standards between Burnham and
- 30:36Burnham. Yeah yeah, yeah, that was really well done. And that's
- 30:38tough because she had to learn both sides of that fight. So that's that's
- 30:42not an easy thing to do. And yeah, it's seen that the differences
- 30:48in stanm it's how he used to be and how he's now. I guess
- 30:52magic mushroom blood calms you down? Is that is that what we learned?
- 30:56Yeah, it's got that chill factor, I guess I thought for sure Michael
- 31:02was gonna, you know, get some temporal loop. Nochi, that was
- 31:11I thought she was you know, you know, it was in her head.
- 31:12She's like, this whole ship is going to reset in like twelve minutes.
- 31:17We could do this, we could do this. It was having trouble
- 31:21keeping up with what what what book was that? Where were they? Where
- 31:26were they in the timeline? Well, I don't know, I think because
- 31:30it was Yeah, it was third so it was before he got arrested,
- 31:34right or before he did that, I think, Yeah, I think it
- 31:37was season three. Yeah, so I was having a hard time keeping up
- 31:40with Okay, where's book then and where's book now? And they have seen
- 31:44each other but mhm m hmm. But when you do a time travel episode,
- 31:51yeah, it's inherently confusing. Yeah. Oh yeah, that would have
- 31:59been more interesting, I think because they used to be together. Yeah.
- 32:04Yeah, Michael could have been having nookie with a couple of different dudes in
- 32:07one episode. It could have been the Michael Burnham After Dark episode. Mm
- 32:14hmmm, it's that's right. So so, yeah, they they did pay
- 32:31off that short truck where the ship is in the future. Yeah, yeah,
- 32:37that was surprising. I thought for sure that they had forgot, forgot,
- 32:42forgotten all about that. Well, that makes me wonder if this the
- 32:45series, Well, they'll still be on the ship, but like some sort
- 32:51of teas that ultimately we're going to get to that point where the Shoes gets
- 32:58abandoned. That's depressing, I don't think I don't think so. Because Zora
- 33:04made reference to the fact that she was there because they failed in this mission,
- 33:08that this right that this season revolves around, so you know, we
- 33:13know out there, Yeah, we know they're not going to fail in this
- 33:16mission. Okay, they're gonna They're going to succeed in the end. And
- 33:20I think that's going to a race that that timeline where is alone is alone
- 33:27in the future. Yeah, that's yeah, that's smart. That's probably what's
- 33:30gonna happen. Yea, yeah, yeah, all right, I could see
- 33:34that. I could absolutely see that. And then we'll argue about it at
- 33:37conventions with other guys. Yeah, yeah, well other people will argue about
- 33:45it. In about in about ten weeks, uh or whatever how many episodes
- 33:52are left, I don't even know, but we just finished four, so
- 33:55six six weeks. Yeah, in about in about six weeks because I'm gonna
- 34:00defrag my head, and that's gonna be the last time I think about Michael
- 34:04Burnham their Star Trek Discovery. I think, so you get and then you
- 34:09watch it all again. No, No, I'm gonna I'm gonna do an
- 34:13area. I'm gonna be going through my memories and be like that one can
- 34:15go, that one can go on, that one can go. Yeah,
- 34:25we get another episode next week. I watched the Will Wheaton Show. They
- 34:30didn't really get into a lot they interviewed it. No, because even Will
- 34:36was like this is this is terrible? Oh no, he loved it.
- 34:40He loved it. He's an actor. I was gonna say, either he
- 34:45either he likes this or he is the best actor in Star Trek. I
- 34:52think he's the best actor in Star Trek. Okay, yeah, let's say
- 34:57a lot. Yeah or not. I think he's a very good cheerleader for
- 35:02it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, he is an excellent cheerleader. Well
- 35:07he knows, you know, he knows what butters his bread. That's right.
- 35:13And Star Trek, sir. And he's a fan. He's a he's
- 35:16a legitimate fan. Yeah, absolutely absolutely. I hope we see more more.
- 35:22Taken to Toorrow throughout the season. I do like her. Yeah,
- 35:27she is a breath of fresh air when they when she comes up. Yeah,
- 35:30very much. So I would watch a series just about her. Yeah,
- 35:35yeah, that's whut They were saying that in the chat Reno ten thirty
- 35:39one. Yeah. Yeah, and even Able said that he would forgive Pera
- 35:45Monvelus for canceling lower decks if they gave jet Rena her own show. Yeah.
- 35:51Absolutely, Yeah, what would you do on the jet Reno show?
- 35:54It would just be like, yeah, it'd be you know, Star Trek
- 36:00engineering. It would just be you know, the Quest for Chips, the
- 36:05Quest for Chips. Yeah, I mean they did three seasons of the card.
- 36:12You could almost do like this old house type thing, but with starships
- 36:15and she's just fixing them. I love it. Jordi doesn't have a personality,
- 36:25right, right, Okay, he doesn't have enough personality. Yeah,
- 36:32Rito's got a lot of personality. And she she could go around, you
- 36:37know, like she could you know, she could become like the Engineering Inspector
- 36:43General or something, and she should have interactions with different ships and different you
- 36:46know, hangs out with Barkley and hangs out with Torres and hangs out with
- 36:52waiting again, says she could be teaching young engineers. That doesn't she could
- 36:55be in the Academy show. Academy Show. Yeah, excellent idea. Do
- 37:06you bear have about an origin story? Sure? Yeah, if you're going
- 37:14to do the stupid Academy show, that could be good. Yeah. They
- 37:17you know, they could do a flashback scene. We haven't really heard about
- 37:22her past except she was married and that her wife died during the Klingon War.
- 37:29It might be interesting to do a flashback scene revolving around that. Yeah.
- 37:35I'm still holding out hope that they will close this show up by moving
- 37:40everything to the twenty fifth century. I really have no interest in the thirty
- 37:47second century, have no interest in Star Trek Academy in the thirty second century.
- 37:54Just sa I wish they would just listen once, listen? Why won't
- 38:02you listen? Do they not know who we are? I don't know.
- 38:07Do you very computer end program? Or or oh I got it? I
- 38:15got one. The very last scene is Riiker in the Holida deck with all
- 38:21the Discovery crew and he says computer end program and he kind of looks around.
- 38:24He goes, well, that was no help at all. Yeah,
- 38:29that's right. Oh, Uh, why do you think they're so afraid of
- 38:35doing a series that comes after Voyager? I don't know. My guess from
- 38:42from the way this, Uh, it seems that these producers have approached Star
- 38:46Trek is they want to put their own stamp on it, and so if
- 38:51they continue past Voyager, they have to tie themselves to what has been done
- 38:57in the past, whereas by throwing it in this other century, they can
- 39:00do whatever the hell they want and make go make a movie or a show.
- 39:07Yeah that doesn't have the name Star Trek on it, and now you
- 39:12can absolutely do whatever you want. Yeah, well there you go, there
- 39:17you go. They've established these you know, they call them rules. They
- 39:22say they want to be unshackled from Cannon. Well we like Cannon. Yeah,
- 39:30we grew up with Cannon. All this canon, all these rules,
- 39:34all these characters, all this past, the things that came before. That's
- 39:37what we fell in love with. This is what we as Trekkies love.
- 39:45So take a page out of our book. You know, we're the ones
- 39:47that are begging, begging for this, you know, twenty fifth century show
- 39:53that takes place just after Pericard let off. It's it's chronologically you know,
- 39:59makes sense as far how many years after you know that the show Voyager is
- 40:02twenty some odd years old. Make the show that old, all the events
- 40:07happened just after the the Borg youth invasion of the early twenty fifth century,
- 40:13and start from there. That's what we want, right and use these as
- 40:17guidelines. Use that the cannon not as as shackles, but as as a
- 40:22guide. But yeah, what do I know exactly? The only way to
- 40:30get around canon is not by going into the past for the future, but
- 40:35alternate reality. Yeah, like a different timeline or something. It's yeah,
- 40:43nobody wants to see the Kurtsman timeline. No, no, I mean that's
- 40:47what the Kelvin timeline is exactly. He was part of that. Nobody wants
- 40:52to see it. Yeah. Yeah, they were fine for standalone things.
- 40:55I'm you know, the Calvin Timeline movies were okay, they were good.
- 41:00I'm glad they're there. Stop and realize what we want. You know,
- 41:05they're making a fourth one. I heard, Yeah, they keep it going.
- 41:07Do you have any information on that, Daniel, Do you have any
- 41:09news about that? Oh? Well, first it was gonna be Tarantino,
- 41:14then it was going to be uh As Jacob then it was going to be
- 41:17like, it's just the list is what studio is making at Paramount obviously?
- 41:23Or wait is it sky Dance? And no way is it? Is it
- 41:27gonna be Pomcast? Is it gonna be? Yeah? Yeah, it's a
- 41:31lot. Yeah, we got a lot of All right, we already have
- 41:36people acting up in the chat, so let's cool. Let's let's get feedback,
- 41:44listener feedback. All right, Well, I've said you had some emails.
- 41:50I do. I've got two emails. Uh. The first one is
- 41:53from Nancy Strongbeard. You are such a wonderful, funny, intelligent co host.
- 42:00But I'm your mom. What do I know? Well, that was
- 42:07from dear old mom. Is she gonna at some point? My mom?
- 42:12Oh, I'll see about I'll see about half of that happened. The second
- 42:17emails a little bit longer. It's from Duval. Yeah, greeting struck Cast.
- 42:22After watching this episode, I had to write an email. I have
- 42:25some questions and some notes that I hope you guys will touch on and discuss
- 42:29on Sunny's podcast one. Burnham first tries contacting the bridge after the first flash
- 42:34time hop in the ready room. No response. Why don't you ask Zora.
- 42:37You know Discoveries computer on what's happening? Yes, they eventually do the
- 42:40other time hops, but honestly should have been the second thing to ask the
- 42:45first time two. Okay, you know the transporters and the ship systems all
- 42:49seem to be glitch glitchy. Why the hell would they want to take the
- 42:52turbo lift? Do you guys have a death wish? I mean, come
- 42:55on, Michael, all these three, all these times shenanigans happening on Discovery,
- 43:00and no one from the Department of Temporal Investigations show up, Not one
- 43:04DTI agent comes knocking it all for notice that Rayner was able to keep the
- 43:09rag that Reno gave him for his lip. I didn't catch this, noticing
- 43:15that you can keep things with you through the time skips. I thought that
- 43:21was going to play a huge part in the story if it. If it
- 43:24did, it wasn't really mentioned, and if so, that would suck for
- 43:28Stamens once. I thought he was going to pop up in the next time
- 43:31skip slump on the floor because of the sedatives, or appear with that shard
- 43:37still impaled with him. No, that's a good point, because I thought
- 43:42about that too, Because they download the information to his iPad. Yeah,
- 43:45and he's like, oh, I'm gonna work on this during the next jump
- 43:47and yeah. Yeah. So the rag returned to the original time period because
- 43:57it got sucked through one of the plot holes. That's right, Well,
- 44:00everyone knows that plot holes exist outside of space time. That's true. They
- 44:06did, they did, they did. Oh. Five? Uh, Rainer
- 44:10straight up spits in the ready room. Dude, Come on, that's the
- 44:14captain's ready room. Have some respect. Six So the transporters or the ship
- 44:16couldn't register an ominly present when Adira returns back to the ship with the chronobug.
- 44:22See, this is why they need to bring back transporter rooms. A
- 44:25transporter technician or chief would have caught that. Plus that would make you know,
- 44:30trans transporter malfunctions great again. There make transporter malfunctions great again. That's
- 44:38how he ruined it it seven. Seven the power of friendship to take over
- 44:46the bridge seriously. So uh. The things he thought was funny were Burnham
- 44:52pulling a liar liar, I'm kicking my ass, do you mind? Uh
- 44:57more jet reno. Uh he liked that. Uh and awesome to see Lieutenant
- 45:01Commander Ariam again Ariam again nice. They brought her back this season even was
- 45:07just for this episode. Yea topless booker, you know, for the ladies.
- 45:12Ooh bye oh bye. So I hope I got that good for you.
- 45:20So he sent it to both of us. Perfect, That's all I
- 45:23got. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the next trek Cast and also
- 45:27meeting you guys at Long Island next month. Yeah us six uh from the
- 45:38ball, that New York City freelance correspondent guy for trek Cast. That's right,
- 45:44that's right, Yes, thank you, and thank you for sending me
- 45:50an email. That was awesome so and then thanks mom, appreciate that so
- 45:54strong Beard one seven one at gmail dot com for all your trek Cast question
- 45:59and comment needs. And then we also got a few people on the line,
- 46:02so we'll go real quick. We got our jazz biziness right there.
- 46:07Mikey versus Michael, Yes, Mikey versus Michael. Who did you think was
- 46:15gonna win? Mikey or Michael? Well, I thought they're gonna whisper and
- 46:17see you can like talk the lowest and cry more. He cry off.
- 46:25You know, we're four episodes in and Michael has not cried that much,
- 46:30so that a little emotional but not crying. So hey, yeah, well
- 46:34you know those last four episodes, you're going to get it. When people
- 46:38die, you're going to have some get in loser. We're going crying.
- 46:43Yeah, go in there crying. It's like this whole time bug thing that
- 46:49just like come up with the clever idea besides time bug, I didn't I
- 46:54didn't hate, but just give it a name something. Yeah, well they
- 47:00it was the kron right whatever. It's a time bug though. It's just
- 47:04like crawls, So it's like, okay, whatever. It seems like they
- 47:07were reaching a little bit. Yeah yeah, and then lock them all like
- 47:12somehow they they're smarter than Starfleet and everybody else. I don't understand it.
- 47:17So because they're like, who's paying them off? Like somebody's controlling them.
- 47:25Yeah, that that's the one thing. Why couldn't Stirfy just buy them off?
- 47:29Yeah, well, somebody's paying them. Somebody's Like, it's not just
- 47:34them. I don't think they're not that clever to do all this. It's
- 47:38Cleveland book or the fifth plot twists asshole commander do that? Or she wants
- 47:47to resurrect her dad. That's the only thing that makes sense to me.
- 47:52Mm hmm, So destroy the universe to resurrect your dad. Pretty much.
- 47:58Last season we had a kid who cried and destroyed sore and wanted to destroy
- 48:04planets to go to heavens. Yeah, people can be that much of a
- 48:07dick. Yeah, yeah, that's crazy. It is. It's a little
- 48:12bit more. I mean I locked up Chad to come on the podcast.
- 48:15Okay, see, that's what I was gonna say, you know, like
- 48:17how they met everybody and said, you remember you know, like, but
- 48:24I'm from the future, but I can tell you your deepest darkst secret.
- 48:28Be like going to Daniels saying Paddington Too is better than Ratha Kahan. Right,
- 48:34that's what I mean, Daniel said to me. And then Strongbeard here
- 48:38blocked Chad up and gave them lotion. Damn damn like dogs, and uh
- 48:47I thinks hot dogs are sandwiches. So it's because they are right. No,
- 48:54I see your point, I do see your point, and then you
- 48:59just sit there for like two seconds like yeah, he's right, and not
- 49:06realizing that you're from the future. Whatever. I don't know it. It's
- 49:10not mirror universe, not a shape shifter, not a not whatever. Especially
- 49:19when Reno looks and and sees the whole new uniform, is like, oh
- 49:22you look good in red. Yeah. Yeah, he's right. He's like
- 49:28a change the uniforms. That's cool, just walks away. I like,
- 49:35as well, yeah, oh yeah you're here. I like it. Yeah,
- 49:42it's super long. Now it's like, what the crap. But I
- 49:46I guess in the future you probably could change your hair that quick. You
- 49:49know, with the replicator, you probably put something crazy on real quick.
- 49:52I don't know the uniform what definitely throw you off. Mm hmm. East
- 50:00six says that uh long might be a breen. They've never shown them.
- 50:05It's they've always been in the suits. So yeah, I don't know.
- 50:07I thought they were in the suits because I thought they're they're breathing something.
- 50:14They're breathing like the They were like they like the cold and the suits.
- 50:17They like the almost sub zero. Ezra was speculated about that on a d
- 50:22Space nine episode. She's like, the refrigeration shoots, maybe they're all furry.
- 50:28Yeah, but we just don't know because I don't want to. That's
- 50:35like they said that they had no idea. Yeah, even though they've killed
- 50:39many brain and they can take the suit apart and say, oh, that's
- 50:44the look like you know what, what We'll get a Breen student in the
- 50:47Academy show and that student will we'll talk about what it's like living in a
- 50:52suit. Yeah, because of the war and deal with bear this. They
- 51:01wear the helmet because this is the way waiting. So anything else you want
- 51:10to bring up there, Well, if there's two bring what would be like
- 51:14Wesley and the Binzite and be like where he gets the name wrong and it's
- 51:19like they all look alike and they're like, you're racist, Wesley because they
- 51:22all look alike because you guys, you're ra out of here Wesley from the
- 51:29show. That's true. They don't wear name tags mistake to make, but
- 51:34they all look like shut up, Wesley. That's what they need to do.
- 51:37Everybody. That was so helpful. Everybody in Star Trek needs to wear
- 51:42name tags, like in the military. That's right, Oh my god,
- 51:45yeah, wow, it'd be great. But he that Kirkman. They probably
- 51:51have a name like this long on some people, Yeah, or the byars.
- 51:57What would display right there? It's just loading their name the entire time.
- 52:02Yeah, I mean they probably have a heads up display or something like
- 52:06in their eyes or glasses. You know, they're probably like a contact ends
- 52:09with the you know, heads up, So I don't know. Potentially,
- 52:15it's We're four episodes in and it's kind of it's getting a little iffy right
- 52:20now. Okay, yeah, now now it's getting now it's right. Just
- 52:23now I'm saying this season. I'm saying this season, just this season,
- 52:29just okay. Otherwise, Like I was like, maybe I can believe it,
- 52:35but now I'm like, I'm not hating the season so far, so
- 52:37we'll see what's in store. I was like, can we recover next week?
- 52:42Let's see if we do all right, let's do it. We can
- 52:44do it. So it's end off in a bang and not a you know
- 52:52right, it's like and hopefully Badgie will you got it? Let's let's see
- 53:01it again holding up the Badgie uh like action figure. I don't ops really
- 53:08And I was like, you know, this actually looks pretty cool. That's
- 53:15yeah. There's hardly any merchandise for lower decks, and then especially that's true
- 53:22merchandise. If there's a Michael Burnham one, we'll all pull all money together
- 53:24and send it to dance. Right. Hey, hey, Dan, would
- 53:28you see that funky badgery at the convention. That's true. You can write
- 53:32his rose Teac from Star Wars, so Dan can write about his feelings about
- 53:37it in his Michael Burnham diary. Would he the Discovery crew never survive a
- 53:44badgie attack to a dept diary whispering with Mikey So well, well thanks to
- 53:54you, uh ja tea Berry okay, yeahs also waiting, I don't Yeah,
- 54:00we all look like Daniel, you look like you'll look like thanks a
- 54:02lot, Daniel, all right, thanks, alright, bye, all right,
- 54:10Yeah, we got t Bart, so let's bring him on there he
- 54:14is. Hey, hey, hey, that's slower decords. We all look
- 54:19alike. Huh all right. I actually it's been busy so I've been able
- 54:27to get here in the mornings of day, but just went to I heard
- 54:30my recognition of the viral post of the politics. Oh yeah, alutely.
- 54:37I came here to claim my reward or my U pay check for promoting caster.
- 54:43Yeah you did great. Your reward. Your reward is six thumbs up.
- 54:46Go ahead, guys. Right, Yeah, that's it. That's where
- 54:53else to get kind of recognition that was worth it got me for life.
- 55:00I'm going to keep coming back even after I cancel my paramount subscription. Yes,
- 55:16make that a hashtag. Make that a T shirt? Yeah, oh
- 55:23that might be a T shirt. I actually liked it helps to come into
- 55:31watching Discovery with lowered expectations, and so far it hasn't been oh wow,
- 55:37this is actually better than my thought. It's been okay, not bad.
- 55:40I can go with this. They made some changes, you know, they're
- 55:44they're being really explicit calling out who the rest of the bridge crew is.
- 55:49Yeah, now that that that was reason. What's his name? Bryce Area,
- 55:54I'm like, I actually know their names now, Christian in the background,
- 55:59I always check can calms. I think, yeah, I don't know
- 56:02the new guy that replaced a place in. But it's it's like it was
- 56:07a long time coming and they realized, oh, yeah, we forgot to
- 56:10do this. How about we just go in a couple of episodes, because
- 56:15the first two episodes moved the plot along, this one has been. These
- 56:17last two have been kind of like fillers where they're really focusing on the characters
- 56:23and basically having in one episode basically have what's his name the new commander,
- 56:30the new first officer, and yeah, Rayner and Burnham come together and see
- 56:36eye to eye. Now, I'm like, that was a little quick.
- 56:38I would have rather had them be a little more antagonistic. I mean,
- 56:43they did a better job with Shaw and having that one defining moment and you're
- 56:46like, oh man, this guy's actually growing on me. He's actually no,
- 56:51like, no, don't don't kill them off? What do you do?
- 56:52What are you crazy? But yeah, and it's just to get back
- 56:55to the store because the story part is inn is what actually caught me.
- 56:59This year's disco is disco. It'll always be disco. It'll always be focused
- 57:06around Michael. But like, well, did they get the other artifact the
- 57:09clue? And they ended this episode on let's figure it out? I'm like,
- 57:14wait, you just wasted one whole episode out of ten. You're you're
- 57:19already limited an episode, and you wasted one just for this. You could
- 57:22have had some thing where they actually found part of the artifact or something in
- 57:27this episode to kind of help yeah things along. There was no there was
- 57:30no B story, right, there was no B story. There was the
- 57:35hint of a B story. We saw Lock and uh Mall is that name?
- 57:39Lock and Mall. We saw them at the beginning, and you kind
- 57:45of got the idea this might be the BET story. We might cut back
- 57:47to them a couple times throughout the episode, but then they just didn't right
- 57:51right, And that's typical Disco. But they were never good at b stories.
- 57:54And in fact, I was impressed when the last episode with Turin and
- 58:00and uh Turin Turina and through that was a classic BET story where you have
- 58:07two separate plot lines they all converge at one point, but I'm like,
- 58:12oh wow, this is actually flowing well as an episode. And now they're
- 58:15like, oh, well, we forgot, We're just we're just go we
- 58:17can't do that. Let's go back to our normal storyline. So right,
- 58:22T Beert, what direction would you like to see this storyline take? The
- 58:29specific one? Like yeah, with the with the with the heist or the
- 58:34the you know, the the progenitors and yeah, the progenitors trying to find
- 58:37a is there a specific like, oh, I hope it turns into this
- 58:42or I hope it turns into that. Do you just want to see a
- 58:45recipe for biscuits at the end? I think there. I hope that they
- 58:52end up finding it and then they decide to destroy it because having that kind
- 58:57of technology as we've seen, going hundred years in the future ruins the plot
- 59:00lines or the plotholes. I should say, yeah, but it's it makes
- 59:07it too easy. There's too much technology. They the writers don't have to
- 59:10think about the situation. There's no risk to any character now because oh they
- 59:15die, we can just bring them back, we can just reboot them.
- 59:16Where we can just do this, and yeah, I think that's something where
- 59:21they would all come to. Degree is like, you know what, even
- 59:22though those four scientists agree the way we weren't ready, we feel like we're
- 59:28still not ready, and I don't think we'll ever be ready. And in
- 59:30fact, I think it'll probably reveal something about the progenitors where they were never
- 59:36ready themselves and that's why they're no longer around too, so they're kind of
- 59:39self destructed in that sense. I think that would be a true good story
- 59:44to tell, a good moral of it, of technology and you know,
- 59:50not being able to advance the long society along with it kind of things.
- 59:52So Okay, I don't think that's going to happen. So let me ask
- 59:58let me ask you guys this. So one thing they did this season,
- 1:00:04they took a thirty five year old plot line m from TG and continued the
- 1:00:13story. What let's say that Starfleet Academy is set in the thirty second century.
- 1:00:22We know that Discovery has this one story that's it. This is the
- 1:00:25last story that that that they're going to tell for this crew. But Starfleet
- 1:00:31Academy might still be set in the thirty second century. So what other old
- 1:00:37Star Trek storyline would you like them to do? Something similar in that they
- 1:00:44revisit an old storyline. Yeah, whether it's whether it's yeah the bug,
- 1:00:49Yeah, all right, okay, how about this? What would you want
- 1:00:59a thirty second century Q? A different Q? Yes, bring back the
- 1:01:07female Q that Q saved? What's her name? What's her name? Q?
- 1:01:15Girl? Q? Yeah, human was really cute? Yeah, bring
- 1:01:21her back ces. Yeah, he's the conventions. I mean she was cute.
- 1:01:28Yeah, cue wake she was cute. Oh because Q and the sound
- 1:01:37of Q is the beginning of the sound of the word Q. Oh my
- 1:01:40god, wow. Y all wants to know is their thirty second century d
- 1:01:46S nine. I mean the station would be really old. You think they
- 1:01:52get a new one. I think the whole station is now the Yeah,
- 1:02:00it's yeah, it's one big hollow suite. It's just one big giant gambling
- 1:02:07orgy food plays. Wow. Oh that's that's all it is. Yeah,
- 1:02:14So I had a random thought of something I would like to see them revisit.
- 1:02:17Do you remember the episode of Enterprise where they're at this planet and there's
- 1:02:22two humanoid species and one is like a servant class, and and they discover
- 1:02:30that the the servant class will survive this plague, the other the other species
- 1:02:38will not, and flocks flocks could cure it, but they decide not to
- 1:02:45because you know, the proto prime directive. So I've always wondered what ended
- 1:02:53up happening with that world. Did this other species become the dominant species?
- 1:02:59And where the a uh were they better than the other species? If that
- 1:03:06other species survived, did they treat them better mm hmm, Or did the
- 1:03:10tables turn and now they're more of a servant class, they're a lower cast
- 1:03:16or something like that. I think that those types of storylines are best left
- 1:03:21to strange new worlds. If you're going to do the Academy show, what
- 1:03:25I want is I want a doctor Flocks alternative medicine school. In all of
- 1:03:34his craziness that he did. Yeah, yeah, it's like, oh you
- 1:03:44have a real quick okay. Yeah, it's like you come in with a
- 1:03:49screen eagle and oh yeah, let me get my genebulent slugworm to yourself around
- 1:03:55it. Yeah, the bat that got loose and that was an episode.
- 1:04:00Yeah. I don't know though. There's there's some stories that you don't want
- 1:04:04to have the continuation because it's actually better to live in your head as what
- 1:04:10could have been, to see someone's interpretation of it and a good chance of
- 1:04:14it that is not the interpretation you would have wanted to see and you were
- 1:04:16going to hate it. Don't do that, just leave alone. Yeah,
- 1:04:23yeah, you're right. And I've read books that have work origins or other
- 1:04:27origins and it's like, yeah, it's cool, it's one interesting one,
- 1:04:30but how would you have done it by do it a different way? And
- 1:04:33you're never going to get an agreement. And I think they're always going to
- 1:04:36mess it up somehow, three rigs something up dance back, so I don't
- 1:04:47Yeah. Yeah, So when you send them Dan the Michael Burnham funks,
- 1:05:03make sure you get one from the uniform and one from the new uniform,
- 1:05:09so he has both. Yes, I can do and yeah and I need.
- 1:05:14I need two of each because I want to keep one in the original
- 1:05:16package. Sure, sure, that's right. Yeah, and get those out
- 1:05:25to you before before New York. That way, you know you can you
- 1:05:29know, display them and walk around with them. Sure yeah, yep,
- 1:05:38his denhim jackets has got like the the Michael Burnham heart on the back.
- 1:05:42You know. Oh you guys, I was going to show you my T
- 1:05:49shirt. I got a box. I found a box of T shirts.
- 1:05:54This is it says, party spots in the house tonight and then everybody have
- 1:05:59a logical time. Yeah. So I found from the move a few years
- 1:06:04ago. I found a bunch of old Star Trek T shirts. So I'm
- 1:06:06gonna I'm gonna be wearn't a different one each week for the foreseeable future.
- 1:06:13Nice, all right, but enough about me now, Just we'll see what
- 1:06:20goes on. I'm still pissed about lower decks. But what can they find
- 1:06:24as many petitions as they could so crossing fingers, Yeah, well, I
- 1:06:30mean exactly did say that they're trying to see, you know, if they
- 1:06:34can find somewhere else to go. So there's already online petitions and Change that
- 1:06:41Org. I shared a change dot org on Facebook. There's a lot of
- 1:06:45people that are up in arms about it. It's it's a lot it's and
- 1:06:48sometimes they listen to these things. Sometimes sometimes yeah, I'd be okay if
- 1:06:55the green light legacy and say, you know what, we lower decks has
- 1:06:59had its runs, ideas, whatever, but give us something because right now
- 1:07:02we just I mean not I'm saying, we just have strange in the world.
- 1:07:05Strange and worlds is great. But if they're going to go five year
- 1:07:09thing, we may only have one more season beyond the next one that they
- 1:07:12disapproved and what comes after that? I mean, right, you know,
- 1:07:15ten episode seasons of Star Trek is nothing compared to the twenty twenty five twenty
- 1:07:20four episodes we used to get right and with the with the paramount up and
- 1:07:26air. As far as ownership, ye goes and leadership, you know,
- 1:07:29that makes that compounds, it makes it even worse. So we don't know,
- 1:07:32Yeah, who knows what if Disney buys it, and you know what
- 1:07:35if Disney makes Star Trek well oh wait, no, they can't do that.
- 1:07:39It's already happened. But yeah, but I mean we saw what they
- 1:07:44did to the Star Wars franchise, and I don't. You know, I
- 1:07:46don't think that's going to be any hope for Star Trek if they do,
- 1:07:48if they we would get quantity over quality. Then yeah, well and that's
- 1:07:54like if Sony bought it, what's going to happen? Right, Like,
- 1:07:57we don't know which version of Sony will get it. We're gonna have start
- 1:08:00the games that come on the PS three or five or whatever, we're on
- 1:08:04sixteen, whatever, and we're gonna have more Spider type bugs that caused multiverse
- 1:08:09kind of relationships. And you know, maybe that's why Sony put the bin.
- 1:08:15Hey they're already they already have the same idea we have. This is
- 1:08:16a perfect fit for us. Yeah. Yeah, So anyways, thanks guys,
- 1:08:24glad, thanks for coming on. Worked out and yeah, good to
- 1:08:30be back. Awesome, thanks man. All right, well, jeez,
- 1:08:39will we get a Spider Man crossover? You know? I you know,
- 1:08:45not that I want that in any way, but it just makes me curious,
- 1:08:50Like the licensing agreement between Sony and Marvel, Yeah, probably probably restricts
- 1:08:57them from crossing over with their licensed characters. I don't think they could just
- 1:09:04do that on their own. No, maybe, well, we talked about
- 1:09:08it before too, in the comics. They've done Star Trek crossovers, like
- 1:09:11the one that I remember most famously is the one with X Men. Yep.
- 1:09:15Yeah, they actually did two of them with X Men. They did
- 1:09:16it with the original series crew and then they did it again with the post
- 1:09:21First Contact Enterprise crew. Yah called second Second Contact was the name of the
- 1:09:27story because it picked up right as they were leaving the past to go back
- 1:09:31to the twenty fourth century. They dropped in in the twenty first century on
- 1:09:38the X Men. I mean, it wasn't a bad story. Paramount owns
- 1:09:44the potential best crossover ever that they could do with Peppa Pig Stop for the
- 1:09:51Paw Patrol Boy boy NCIS there you go. You know, that's not a
- 1:10:02bad idea those division it really is, and they should do so well they
- 1:10:08do so dever, that would be awesome. Yeah, it's not the worst.
- 1:10:16You know, they could make it they you know, and they wouldn't.
- 1:10:18I think a Star Trek obviously wouldn't call it a n SCIS, But
- 1:10:23I think a NCIS type show would actually do pretty good because they it's it's
- 1:10:29far enough in the future now, the twenty per century where they're not walking
- 1:10:31around in pajamas. You know, they sort of have nice uniforms. It's
- 1:10:34kind of modernized. They could do a little division where they're just investigating different
- 1:10:40different crimes and different things. And you know, it doesn't have to be
- 1:10:43temporal. It can just be regular run of the mill. Hey, we've
- 1:10:46got a murder out at whatever, you know, San Francisco, and let's
- 1:10:50go check it out. Grab your gear. Well, t Beard was saying
- 1:10:55Starfleet Jag. Yeah, that could interest Yeah, I mean, and they've
- 1:11:00proved in the past that, you know, a courtroom show can be interesting.
- 1:11:06Some of the best episodes for courtroom shows. Yeah, I would actually
- 1:11:12really like that. That sounds great. I mean, yeah, they could
- 1:11:14do Yeah, I mean Starfleet was founded to seek out new life. Well
- 1:11:17there it sits one of the best lines of track. What if your two
- 1:11:21shows are jet Rino's this Old House and you and your court show, and
- 1:11:27that's it. We're not exploring anything. We're just fixing hips and fighting criminals.
- 1:11:32You reach out to Yeah, you reach out to Kurtzman. I'll reach
- 1:11:38out to Kevin O'Connor. There you go from this old House and we'll see
- 1:11:41if we can make something happen. Perfect That sounds great. All right.
- 1:11:47Well, I think that's pretty much wraps it up for this episode, all
- 1:11:50right, and we'll be back next week. We'll see you next week.
- 1:11:56Bye. This is Captain Benjamin Cisco of Deep Space nine and Space God to
- 1:12:00the Bajorans. I have a mission for you. This falls outside of Starfleet
- 1:12:03guidelines, so I can't order you, but I'm asking for volunteers. Volunteers
