Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Hi, everybody. I'm Tamara Judge and I'm Dan Gesling and
- 0:03Speaker 1: you're listening to Talking a Big Game. Hey, guys, welcome
- 0:11Speaker 1: back to another episode of Talking a Big Game with myself, Tamor.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Judge and Ding. Super excited to be here.
- 0:17Speaker 1: I know, I feel like I haven't seen you in
- 0:19Speaker 1: like a week.
- 0:19Speaker 3: I know it's been a minute, and I've got some
- 0:22Speaker 3: like serious I have a serious question for you. I
- 0:24Speaker 3: don't want to I don't want to start things off
- 0:26Speaker 3: on this foot, but i have to know.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Oh my god, what is it? The hate that is
- 0:30Speaker 1: no hate?
- 0:30Speaker 3: Well, because so so this is the first episode we're
- 0:33Speaker 3: recording post launch, right, so we you know, we've recorded
- 0:35Speaker 3: some episodes in this the first one, and so in
- 0:39Speaker 3: the comments, like people are extremely not kind to you.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that that's new. That's something new, and it's
- 0:48Speaker 1: it's going to go away. But because the show is
- 0:50Speaker 1: airing right now, and I'm not falling for Shannon's victim
- 0:56Speaker 1: act on the show because I've known her longer than everybody,
- 1:00Speaker 1: people are thinking that I ditched my best friend when
- 1:04Speaker 1: after she got a DUI and that's not the case,
- 1:06Speaker 1: and it will come out. But people, but not only
- 1:09Speaker 1: are people coming for me? Most of them aren't even
- 1:13Speaker 1: real people. Somebody hired bots to go after me.
- 1:16Speaker 3: Well, here's my question, is that, regardless of the reason,
- 1:19Speaker 3: like people are like super like just saying like super
- 1:23Speaker 3: inappropriate stuff.
- 1:24Speaker 2: How do you deal with that as a human?
- 1:27Speaker 1: Oh well, last week I took xanax one day. I'll
- 1:31Speaker 1: tell you that I couldn't understand the amount of hate
- 1:34Speaker 1: when I'm actually doing something for somebody out of tough
- 1:38Speaker 1: love and wanting them to get better and not enabling
- 1:41Speaker 1: them with their drinking. So it's really hard. But it's
- 1:45Speaker 1: also an edited reality show and not all the information
- 1:49Speaker 1: comes out at once, and I've been on the phone
- 1:51Speaker 1: with production and they say, just wait, just wait, you
- 1:54Speaker 1: just gotta and I go you They're like, you know
- 1:56Speaker 1: better than ever I go. But I haven't really even
- 1:58Speaker 1: done anything on the show to warrant this hate. You know.
- 2:03Speaker 1: We got into one fight and I called her an alcoholic, Like,
- 2:06Speaker 1: I get it. My words were a little harsh, But
- 2:08Speaker 1: other than that, it's a lot of her playing the
- 2:11Speaker 1: victim in interviews, saying like tiam Ridge just left me.
- 2:14Speaker 1: It's not true, It's not the case. So people will
- 2:17Speaker 1: see even this week's episode, you will see a different
- 2:20Speaker 1: side of me, and I'm hoping that that hate will stop.
- 2:23Speaker 1: But however, somebody has hired bots. They're not even real accounts,
- 2:28Speaker 1: so I kind of noticed that, and Kayden really, you know,
- 2:32Speaker 1: he's like, don't read the comments whatever you monitor or whatever.
- 2:36Speaker 1: And somebody reached out to me on social media and says,
- 2:39Speaker 1: I just want to let you know that somebody hired bots.
- 2:42Speaker 1: They're going after you bad. And the reason why I
- 2:43Speaker 1: know their bots is their empty accounts. And they say
- 2:46Speaker 1: the same basic sentence reworded three different times. And they
- 2:50Speaker 1: also are putting it on posts that have nothing to
- 2:53Speaker 1: do with me, nothing to do with housewives. So it's like,
- 2:56Speaker 1: you know, when people hire them, they just they just flood.
- 3:00Speaker 4: Here.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Here's the thing, because I know you in real life, like,
- 3:04Speaker 3: and I know all these things that are like I'm
- 3:05Speaker 3: sitting there and like the feeds are getting blown up
- 3:08Speaker 3: with all these comments. I'm like, I know who you
- 3:10Speaker 3: are as a person, Like you're a very kind, genuine,
- 3:13Speaker 3: like real person and then to see all this stuff,
- 3:16Speaker 3: like I'm getting riled up.
- 3:18Speaker 2: But I'm like, how does Tamra.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Like Tamra's used to it, But you know what, I
- 3:22Speaker 1: wasn't expecting it because I went into the season, you know, Shannon,
- 3:26Speaker 1: and I had to step away from her, which is
- 3:28Speaker 1: a very toxic friendship, and I felt like she wasn't
- 3:31Speaker 1: getting the help she was she needs, and I, you know,
- 3:35Speaker 1: she wasn't going to change, so I had to change.
- 3:36Speaker 1: So I had to walk away from her. And There's
- 3:39Speaker 1: a lot more that's to it, But I'm not one
- 3:42Speaker 1: on reality TV that plays victim.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Haama, let may ask because this is like Danda Tamra
- 3:47Speaker 3: like yeah, and like we've talked storylines and all that,
- 3:49Speaker 3: but I'm saying, like you as a human, like it,
- 3:52Speaker 3: are you read it? And then like what do you do?
- 3:54Speaker 3: Like physically, what do you do? Is there a point
- 3:56Speaker 3: where you're like enough's enough? Because one thing that like
- 3:58Speaker 3: I laughed, but I saw something on Twitter that you
- 4:01Speaker 3: were tweeted someone like, oh, you turned off comments on
- 4:04Speaker 3: Twitter because it was about your daughter, and you're like,
- 4:07Speaker 3: of course I did.
- 4:08Speaker 2: You're a loser first talking about this.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Yeah, whenever I post about my kids at all, which
- 4:13Speaker 1: is Sophia is really the only one that I post about,
- 4:17Speaker 1: and I turn off comments because one time there was
- 4:20Speaker 1: a comment you know, it was a happy birthday comment
- 4:22Speaker 1: to her, and somebody is like, oh, I hope she's
- 4:25Speaker 1: going to get a nose job when she gets older.
- 4:26Speaker 1: And I didn't see it, but she saw it and
- 4:29Speaker 1: it really kind of hurt her feelings at the time.
- 4:30Speaker 1: And of course this was like three four years ago,
- 4:34Speaker 1: and she brought it to me and I thought, nope,
- 4:36Speaker 1: nobody's commenting on my kids.
- 4:38Speaker 4: Nope.
- 4:39Speaker 3: Well, speaking of you know, hurting feelings and not hurting
- 4:43Speaker 3: feelings and turning the conversation to excitement, Caitlyn is here.
- 4:47Speaker 3: Let's bring her in, but tamer, we're not done with this.
- 4:49Speaker 3: We're gonna take because I want to. We got to
- 4:51Speaker 3: talk about this the next episode. You want to bring
- 4:55Speaker 3: Caitlyn in for it.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Yeah, we're super excited. So today we have Caitlyn Bristow.
- 4:59Speaker 1: She was contestant on the nineteenth season of The Bachelor,
- 5:03Speaker 1: and she ended up coming in third place. She was
- 5:06Speaker 1: later chosen as the bachelorette for the eleventh season of
- 5:10Speaker 1: ABC's The Bachelorette. She was a celebrity winner of season
- 5:15Speaker 1: twenty nine of Dancing with the Stars and the first
- 5:18Speaker 1: Canadian to ever win the show. Now, there was a
- 5:21Speaker 1: lot of drama around Caitlin. That's why we want to
- 5:23Speaker 1: bring her in. There was stuff about her appearance. There
- 5:26Speaker 1: was even some stuff being said that we need to
- 5:28Speaker 1: ask her about her producer, allegedly her producer from Bachelor
- 5:32Speaker 1: allegedly not allowing her to do Dancing with the Stars.
- 5:36Speaker 1: So let's get to the bottom of this. Let's bring
- 5:39Speaker 1: her in. Hi guys, Hi, Hi Lynn. It's so nice
- 5:44Speaker 1: to meet you.
- 5:45Speaker 4: Nice to meet you.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Thanks for coming on. We've got a ton of questions
- 5:49Speaker 2: for you, like a lot.
- 5:50Speaker 4: I'm very excited.
- 5:51Speaker 1: So before you jumped on, here, me and Dan we're
- 5:53Speaker 1: talking about social media hate and well, right now I'm
- 5:59Speaker 1: like the the hate most hated ever on my cast,
- 6:01Speaker 1: because I'm are you really? Oh yeah, I mean it's
- 6:04Speaker 1: going to change next week, but right now I am
- 6:07Speaker 1: because you know, I'm not buying somebody's bullshit on the show,
- 6:10Speaker 1: and I'm not bound down.
- 6:12Speaker 2: I'm over here getting defensive.
- 6:13Speaker 3: I'm like, these people don't understand, like out of a
- 6:16Speaker 3: world of fake people, tammers the real one.
- 6:18Speaker 2: But anyway, sorry, yeah, I know.
- 6:20Speaker 1: I'm sure you've had your share of hate on social media.
- 6:23Speaker 4: The real ones always get the hate and it's it's
- 6:26Speaker 4: we're the easy ones to hate. I feel like real
- 6:28Speaker 4: ones are easy to hate because we say how it is,
- 6:32Speaker 4: and that gives people an opportunity to, like, I don't know,
- 6:35Speaker 4: clap back to what we think.
- 6:36Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 6:37Speaker 4: I always feel like people who are the most show up,
- 6:39Speaker 4: like the most authentically on social media. You usually get
- 6:42Speaker 4: the most backlash, but you're probably doing that on your
- 6:45Speaker 4: own season of television is just showing up authentically and people,
- 6:49Speaker 4: I don't know, people are afraid of bright lights.
- 6:50Speaker 1: I think, yeah, no, I'll absolutely agree with that because
- 6:53Speaker 1: there's people on my show right now. I don't know
- 6:55Speaker 1: if you watch Housewives, but they're people that are like
- 6:58Speaker 1: they're fake and they're not being honest and they're like, oh,
- 7:00Speaker 1: isn't she sweet? I'm like, yeah, I don't want sweet
- 7:04Speaker 1: on reality TV. Let's just be straight right there.
- 7:07Speaker 4: I don't know how you do it. I've heard, like
- 7:11Speaker 4: the drama of Housewives to me gives me anxiety and
- 7:14Speaker 4: I don't even watch, like I'm just like it's so
- 7:17Speaker 4: it's freaks me out because I feel like you guys
- 7:19Speaker 4: get pigeonholed too into these like hit casting characters.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that I'm used to it, so.
- 7:25Speaker 3: It's like, eh, Kaitlin, you're Canadians, so like Canadians are
- 7:29Speaker 3: notorious for like being kind and nice. At what point
- 7:32Speaker 3: you know, in your vast reality TV career did you
- 7:35Speaker 3: like become callous because it seems like, yeah, I've dealt
- 7:37Speaker 3: with hate, but you seem like you're unbothered by it.
- 7:39Speaker 3: Not to call attention your sweatshirt you're wearing right now
- 7:41Speaker 3: that says unbothered on it.
- 7:44Speaker 4: It's funny because I am like a walking contradiction all
- 7:48Speaker 4: the time, Like I am, I get bothered easily, but
- 7:50Speaker 4: I wear the sweater that says unbothered. I just honestly,
- 7:53Speaker 4: it depends where I'm at in my cycle, what time
- 7:55Speaker 4: of a month it is. But sometimes it like doesn't
- 7:57Speaker 4: bother me at all, and other times I like I
- 8:00Speaker 4: want to throat chop people and like fight them in
- 8:02Speaker 4: real life. So it really it just depends because I
- 8:05Speaker 4: actually think I dealt with it better when I first
- 8:08Speaker 4: came off being the Bachelorette, which was like nine eight
- 8:11Speaker 4: nine years ago, and I was like, this is crazy.
- 8:14Speaker 4: People hate me for just being me, Like how funny,
- 8:18Speaker 4: And then over the years I actually feel like I've
- 8:20Speaker 4: gotten softer, Like I'm like.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Wait, you still hate me, Dan, It's like, how do
- 8:25Speaker 1: you handle the hate? And I'm like, first of all,
- 8:27Speaker 1: I want to apologize, Dan, because the hate that's probably
- 8:29Speaker 1: going on to your page because of me, it is
- 8:31Speaker 1: clearly my fault.
- 8:33Speaker 2: No, but it's just crazy to me.
- 8:35Speaker 1: I'll say like, yeah, oh well it doesn't bother me.
- 8:38Speaker 1: I'm like that last week I had to take his annex.
- 8:40Speaker 4: Yeah, oh yeah, I feel you it really, I'm really
- 8:44Speaker 4: up and down, hot and cold all the time. But Dan,
- 8:46Speaker 4: I'm like, Big Brother fans are so nasty sometimes, like
- 8:50Speaker 4: I am. It's first of all huge Big Brother nerd.
- 8:53Speaker 4: Like I've watched since the I think I was I
- 8:56Speaker 4: don't know whatever age I was in two thousand and three.
- 9:00Speaker 4: Og I am an og. I love it so much.
- 9:04Speaker 4: And over the years, I've like forced friendships on so
- 9:07Speaker 4: many Big Brother cast members because I'm like, hey, look
- 9:10Speaker 4: we both have a following, let's be friends. Like I've
- 9:13Speaker 4: dreamt about being friends with people from Big Brother. I
- 9:15Speaker 4: remember creating a fake I tried every email I could
- 9:18Speaker 4: for this girl I was a fan of to write
- 9:20Speaker 4: her and say I was a fan.
- 9:21Speaker 1: So this is clearly.
- 9:22Speaker 4: Like back before anything, I was just making up emails.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Would who was it? Tell me?
- 9:27Speaker 3: Because I'm like an og Big Brother fan until you're
- 9:29Speaker 3: going the show and.
- 9:30Speaker 4: Then you're like, all right, I'm blanking on who it was.
- 9:33Speaker 4: I literally was this is? I mean over twenty years ago.
- 9:38Speaker 4: I'll think of it. I'll think of it and and
- 9:40Speaker 4: tell you. But oh my gosh, yeah, I used to
- 9:42Speaker 4: just like make up email addresses to try and get
- 9:44Speaker 4: a hold of her. But like now with social media,
- 9:47Speaker 4: I find and I'm sure it's the same for housewives,
- 9:51Speaker 4: but the Big Brother like fandom, whatever you want to
- 9:55Speaker 4: call them, Like I'm a live.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Feeder, they're so main So I mean, well, I was
- 10:01Speaker 1: telling Dan earlier that I just found out that somebody
- 10:04Speaker 1: hired bots to go after me. And the reason why
- 10:07Speaker 1: we found out is because it's the same sentence written
- 10:10Speaker 1: four different times, and when you click on the account,
- 10:13Speaker 1: it's empty, and it's going everywhere, even on even on post.
- 10:17Speaker 1: I'm hearing that have nothing to do with me, these
- 10:19Speaker 1: random messages. I'm like a somebody bought thoughts. I go, hey,
- 10:22Speaker 1: I'm making in life, right, I must be pretty popular.
- 10:25Speaker 1: People wanting to spend their hard to earn money. Attack
- 10:28Speaker 1: bending you should you should do something with that, like
- 10:32Speaker 1: like get a life.
- 10:34Speaker 4: You know who Jill Zarren is theres are and I
- 10:36Speaker 4: don't know how you get it. Somebody made like a
- 10:39Speaker 4: website called like I hate Jill aron dot com and
- 10:42Speaker 4: she like bot my website.
- 10:44Speaker 1: Oh that's smart.
- 10:45Speaker 4: You gotta get creative, like start start making merch and
- 10:48Speaker 4: be like people buy bots.
- 10:50Speaker 1: I don't know. I'm sure Jill Zan's already made it.
- 10:53Speaker 1: She's got she is the queen of merch. I did.
- 10:59Speaker 3: Is like what if sh is the one that's behind it?
- 11:01Speaker 3: And then like there's a whole storyline right there, but
- 11:04Speaker 3: I wouldn't pass it.
- 11:04Speaker 2: But Calyn, I want to bring this back to you
- 11:06Speaker 2: real quick.
- 11:06Speaker 3: Was there a moment when you're like when you're going
- 11:09Speaker 3: through all the social media and you're like a breaking
- 11:11Speaker 3: point you're like, okay, I can't keep looking at this
- 11:13Speaker 3: or was there a moment you're like, let me figure
- 11:15Speaker 3: out where like you learn.
- 11:16Speaker 2: How to deal with it. Yeah.
- 11:18Speaker 4: I think I got to a place where I was
- 11:21Speaker 4: like I got to stop what my therapist and now
- 11:24Speaker 4: I call it shopping for pain. I got to stop
- 11:26Speaker 4: shopping for pain. Where I go looking for it. I
- 11:29Speaker 4: know people are going to be saying mean things. It
- 11:31Speaker 4: just depends on how quote unquote relevant I am at
- 11:35Speaker 4: the time. So like, when I'm on a show, the
- 11:37Speaker 4: hate is a lot louder, and so I have to
- 11:39Speaker 4: look at that through a different perspective of, Oh, I'm
- 11:42Speaker 4: I'm in the media right now, so the hate's going
- 11:44Speaker 4: to be a lot louder. And then when I'm doing
- 11:46Speaker 4: like wholesome shit like toy story with my godson, It's
- 11:50Speaker 4: like nobody can hate on that. I'm just being boring.
- 11:53Speaker 4: So I just kind of like have to brace myself
- 11:56Speaker 4: and know when the hate is loud, I can't go
- 11:58Speaker 4: shopping for pain. And so it really just depends again
- 12:01Speaker 4: on the timing of everything. But it's it's it's really
- 12:05Speaker 4: important to me. I've never looked at a Reddit article
- 12:07Speaker 4: about myself and I never will and I just again,
- 12:12Speaker 4: you just don't go looking for it.
- 12:22Speaker 1: But enough of hate. Let's talk about the good stuff
- 12:25Speaker 1: that you have done.
- 12:26Speaker 2: Now.
- 12:26Speaker 1: You were on you were on Dancing with the Stars,
- 12:28Speaker 1: but there was some drama that went along with that.
- 12:31Speaker 1: From what I understand, I hear that your producers from
- 12:35Speaker 1: the Bachelor didn't want you on there.
- 12:38Speaker 4: Oh that drama. I'm like, which drama. Yeah, it was
- 12:42Speaker 4: not the producers, it was the man that created the
- 12:47Speaker 4: Bachelor franchise. He yeah, he didn't want to go back
- 12:52Speaker 4: to your image or something. Now, I don't know what.
- 12:55Speaker 4: I think. He just didn't like me from the get go.
- 12:57Speaker 4: I think I think actually I know, Oh, he didn't
- 13:00Speaker 4: like me from the get go.
- 13:01Speaker 2: And how do you know, Like, why do you know that?
- 13:04Speaker 4: Because he I mean, he made it very obvious and
- 13:06Speaker 4: he he didn't want me to be the bachelorette, so
- 13:10Speaker 4: he had called a meeting with me, and I think
- 13:13Speaker 4: he usually goes for I mean, he gets to make
- 13:16Speaker 4: the final decision, so he is like, you know, ahead
- 13:18Speaker 4: of the franchise, which I don't think he's even there anymore.
- 13:21Speaker 4: But he likes, you're all American girl next door, America's sweetheart.
- 13:27Speaker 4: And when I came on The Bachelor, Yeah, the Bachelor,
- 13:31Speaker 4: I was very much this like edgy Canadian with tattoos
- 13:36Speaker 4: and I swore and I was just like like I
- 13:39Speaker 4: came out guns blazing. I was like, I'm just gonna
- 13:41Speaker 4: be me, like weirdo. Caitlin from the small town in Alberta, Canada,
- 13:45Speaker 4: and I'd rather be I said, I'd rather be hated
- 13:48Speaker 4: for who I am than liked for somebody I'm not.
- 13:50Speaker 4: I didn't want to go on TV and pretend to
- 13:51Speaker 4: be somebody else just to get people to like me.
- 13:53Speaker 1: And I like that line.
- 13:55Speaker 4: Oh you can thank Kurt Cobaine for that one. I
- 13:58Speaker 4: got it from him. But I was like, I'm just
- 14:02Speaker 4: not going to care what people think, like I still
- 14:04Speaker 4: know and deep down in my heart, I'm a good person,
- 14:06Speaker 4: so I'm not.
- 14:06Speaker 1: Going to care.
- 14:07Speaker 4: And then I don't think he liked that. I think
- 14:09Speaker 4: he wanted, like, if there's going to be another Bachelorette,
- 14:12Speaker 4: I think he wanted to go with what's always worked
- 14:14Speaker 4: for that franchise, Like America loves their comfort food and
- 14:17Speaker 4: they always love the America's Sweetheart, and I was going
- 14:20Speaker 4: to be a change up to the franchise. And so
- 14:25Speaker 4: I don't think he really liked me from the get go.
- 14:27Speaker 4: And then the season did well, and then when I
- 14:30Speaker 4: came off, it was like I grew up dancing. My
- 14:32Speaker 4: mom was a professional ballerina, and I grew up dancing
- 14:35Speaker 4: my whole life. I never had done ballroom, but it
- 14:38Speaker 4: was a dream of mine to go on Dancing with
- 14:40Speaker 4: the Stars, and he said, I just don't want people
- 14:43Speaker 4: coming on my show who want fame. He always had
- 14:46Speaker 4: this belief that I wanted to get famous from his show,
- 14:50Speaker 4: and I never understood where that came from for him.
- 14:53Speaker 4: And he like, he was like, the gossip magazines say
- 14:56Speaker 4: you're just here for fame, and I'm like, well those
- 14:58Speaker 4: are gossip magazine, Like, I don't know where this is
- 15:01Speaker 4: coming from.
- 15:02Speaker 1: But it was like, I mean, it doesn't take a
- 15:03Speaker 1: rocket scientist to figure out that if you get famous
- 15:06Speaker 1: from being on TV.
- 15:07Speaker 4: Well, and this it just didn't add up. Like this
- 15:11Speaker 4: is another reason why I knew he didn't like me,
- 15:13Speaker 4: is because all he's had like four of his past
- 15:16Speaker 4: bachelor's go on Dancing with the Stars, but a bachelorette
- 15:19Speaker 4: had never done it, and so they had asked me,
- 15:22Speaker 4: and then I was over the moon excited, and then
- 15:25Speaker 4: he took it away from me. So then it was
- 15:27Speaker 4: such a full circle moment that five years later when
- 15:31Speaker 4: I thought I was you know, five years Yeah, it
- 15:34Speaker 4: was five years later.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Well not only did you go on, but you won.
- 15:38Speaker 1: I wan congratulations.
- 15:40Speaker 2: What does that mean when you say took it away
- 15:42Speaker 2: from you?
- 15:43Speaker 4: Yeah, Like I had the contract, and I didn't know.
- 15:46Speaker 4: I didn't know how contracts television worked. I didn't know
- 15:50Speaker 4: I had to like get approved from then.
- 15:53Speaker 2: You know.
- 15:53Speaker 4: I was like, oh, Abc, ABC, both ABC shows. I
- 15:57Speaker 4: can obviously go do Dancing with the Stars the past
- 16:00Speaker 4: bachelors have. And so I had the contract signed and everything.
- 16:03Speaker 4: I had an entertainment lawyer that went over it. I
- 16:05Speaker 4: signed the contract. I was supposed to be announced on
- 16:08Speaker 4: Good Morning America like the next week, and he just
- 16:12Speaker 4: said like, no, You're not doing it. Oh yeah, he
- 16:15Speaker 4: just said, no, you're not. I'm not going to allow this,
- 16:18Speaker 4: and I were you crushed? Oh? I bawled my eyes out.
- 16:23Speaker 4: I wrote an email to so many people at the
- 16:26Speaker 4: franchise just being like, I'm not doing this for fame,
- 16:29Speaker 4: like dancing is really a dream of mine, Like I
- 16:31Speaker 4: would love to get this opportunity, and uh yeah, so
- 16:35Speaker 4: I've It's funny because I've talked about it, and I
- 16:37Speaker 4: always have to remember this because you guys are a
- 16:40Speaker 4: new up podcast with a different audience than me, because
- 16:44Speaker 4: I'm like, people are probably so sick of me talking
- 16:45Speaker 4: about this, but you have a whole other audience the
- 16:48Speaker 4: way I have so they're probably hearing this for the
- 16:50Speaker 4: first time. So yeah, I've He just said, I, you know,
- 16:54Speaker 4: I don't want people coming on my show for fame.
- 16:57Speaker 4: And I said, dancing is a passion of mine and
- 17:00Speaker 4: he said, well, Sean should be your only passion right now,
- 17:04Speaker 4: which is the guy that I chose to get engaged
- 17:06Speaker 4: to off the show. And I asked him if he
- 17:08Speaker 4: had more than one passion in life and he said,
- 17:11Speaker 4: I'm not. He said, I'm not talking about this, Caitlin,
- 17:14Speaker 4: I'm not. I'm not talking about this, and and then
- 17:17Speaker 4: he hung off on me.
- 17:18Speaker 2: Oh my god, I mean that's it.
- 17:20Speaker 3: I mean, like, that's amazing. You talked to like the
- 17:22Speaker 3: head of the whole franchise like that. I mean it's
- 17:24Speaker 3: not like that's like fake some stones. I'm not gonna
- 17:27Speaker 3: lie Like that's amazing.
- 17:28Speaker 4: I had to I had to jump through hoops to
- 17:31Speaker 4: get that guy on the phone. I was like not
- 17:34Speaker 4: taking no for an answer until he yeah, there's just
- 17:37Speaker 4: no other option for me. Wild What influenced you to
- 17:41Speaker 4: apply for the show for Bachelor? Yeah, I didn't. My
- 17:45Speaker 4: girlfriend signed me up. I was just getting out of
- 17:49Speaker 4: a long relationship and I had kind of bopped all
- 17:53Speaker 4: over the place he played hockey, and so I was
- 17:56Speaker 4: kind of all over the map and I ended up
- 17:58Speaker 4: being in Germany, and in Germany, I completely lost myself
- 18:02Speaker 4: to this relationship. I was depending on him emotionally and financially,
- 18:06Speaker 4: and I just became a shell of myself and I
- 18:08Speaker 4: had no friends, and I had no career, and I
- 18:10Speaker 4: didn't have a dollar in my bank account. And he
- 18:14Speaker 4: broke up with me, and I was just like beside
- 18:16Speaker 4: myself and it was totally a rock bottom moment for me.
- 18:20Speaker 4: And I had to move back in with my parents
- 18:22Speaker 4: at the age of like twenty seven, and you know,
- 18:25Speaker 4: go back to a restaurant job that I didn't like,
- 18:28Speaker 4: and kind of like start from the ground up again
- 18:30Speaker 4: and you know, get friends back. I'd lost all my
- 18:33Speaker 4: friends because I was never there and I was only
- 18:35Speaker 4: focused on this relationship. And my girlfriend just said to me,
- 18:39Speaker 4: she goes, I just see you on the Bachelor. And
- 18:41Speaker 4: I said, do they take Canadians And she goes, yeah,
- 18:43Speaker 4: they do, because Big Brother doesn't take Canadians. And I said,
- 18:46Speaker 4: if I was going to go on any reality show,
- 18:48Speaker 4: I wanted to go on Big Brother. And she was like,
- 18:50Speaker 4: they don't take Canadians, and so she sent in all
- 18:53Speaker 4: of my information to the Bachelor franchise and it's all timing,
- 18:59Speaker 4: you know, timing everything, And they didn't choose me to
- 19:02Speaker 4: go on, and they called me and they kept me
- 19:04Speaker 4: on file and called me about a year and a
- 19:06Speaker 4: half later to come on the next season.
- 19:08Speaker 1: So that's the thing with reality shows, and it happens
- 19:11Speaker 1: on our show as well. They don't give up people.
- 19:13Speaker 1: Just because you try out for a show and you
- 19:15Speaker 1: don't make it that season, doesn't mean you won't make it,
- 19:18Speaker 1: you know, the two second or or fourth year out
- 19:20Speaker 1: because it happens all the time. Do you think you
- 19:23Speaker 1: were going to get chosen?
- 19:25Speaker 4: No? No, I was like, they're never going to take
- 19:27Speaker 4: someone like me. I'm so weird, I'm so quirky, and
- 19:30Speaker 4: like if they do, I'm going to be the drunk
- 19:31Speaker 4: girl that goes home night one from like embarrassing herself.
- 19:34Speaker 4: Like it's I thought it was going to be a yeah, No,
- 19:37Speaker 4: I didn't see it going the way that it did.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Well your personality, sure shine, Because then you were chosen
- 19:42Speaker 1: for the Bachelorette seasonal. Yes, what do you have to
- 19:46Speaker 1: say about that?
- 19:47Speaker 4: That was again hoops were jumped through to get there
- 19:50Speaker 4: because I never I was. You know, a lot of
- 19:52Speaker 4: girls go on and they want to be the bachelorette,
- 19:54Speaker 4: and they try and make it to a certain point
- 19:57Speaker 4: just so they can possibly be the bachelorette. Truly on
- 20:01Speaker 4: the bachelor, thought this guy's going to pick me, I'm
- 20:04Speaker 4: going to get engaged, and like I thought for sure
- 20:08Speaker 4: it was me, and so I had no agenda to
- 20:12Speaker 4: be the bachelorette. And then he dumped me and I
- 20:16Speaker 4: was very shocked. And then when they asked me, it
- 20:19Speaker 4: was again shocking. But I had to go in and
- 20:22Speaker 4: kind of like prove myself to this this guy again
- 20:25Speaker 4: who didn't want me to be the bachelorette. But I
- 20:28Speaker 4: remember I had to cut my bangs a certain way,
- 20:32Speaker 4: they sent an outfit that I needed to wear, and
- 20:34Speaker 4: my makeup had to be done a certain way to
- 20:37Speaker 4: go in and have a meeting with him, just to
- 20:39Speaker 4: like present myself.
- 20:41Speaker 1: Is he still a power?
- 20:42Speaker 4: I guess I still have a job.
- 20:43Speaker 2: No.
- 20:44Speaker 1: No, oh, well there you go.
- 20:46Speaker 3: I have a question for doing that show. What was
- 20:48Speaker 3: it like having that presence over you? Are you like
- 20:52Speaker 3: looking over your shoulder while you're like essentially the star.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Of the show, Like what was that?
- 20:56Speaker 4: Like, I didn't no, I didn't realize actually that there
- 20:59Speaker 4: was that kind of power until well on The Bachelor.
- 21:04Speaker 4: I had no idea. I didn't understand anything about production television.
- 21:08Speaker 4: Like when I came out of the limo, I was
- 21:10Speaker 4: confused why I wasn't hearing the romantic music plane and
- 21:13Speaker 4: I was like, oh, I guess that's just like well
- 21:15Speaker 4: you watch it back on TV. Like I didn't know,
- 21:17Speaker 4: and so I thought the producers ran the show now
- 21:20Speaker 4: until later when they're deciding for me to be the bachelorette.
- 21:25Speaker 4: I still didn't really see him much after that, So
- 21:29Speaker 4: while I was the bachelorette, I didn't feel like my
- 21:31Speaker 4: head was on a swivel for like the higher ups,
- 21:34Speaker 4: because I think they really want you to like be
- 21:36Speaker 4: comfortable and trust the producers, so I want. I think
- 21:40Speaker 4: they want you to just like fully lean into the
- 21:43Speaker 4: vulnerability of feeling comfortable and like like the producers are
- 21:48Speaker 4: almost like family.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Did you always want to do something in the entertainment
- 22:00Speaker 1: business There's just something that kind of fell on your lap?
- 22:02Speaker 4: Oh, I always wanted to. I like, I I have this.
- 22:07Speaker 4: I wish I still had the papers I have a
- 22:09Speaker 4: picture of me writing down stuff that I wanted on
- 22:11Speaker 4: a vision board when I was twenty four years old,
- 22:14Speaker 4: and I really wanted to be on like a competitive
- 22:18Speaker 4: show again. I really wanted it to be Big Brother lol,
- 22:21Speaker 4: and or I wanted my own radio show, and I
- 22:25Speaker 4: wanted to have two Golden Retrievers, and I wanted to
- 22:28Speaker 4: be an entrepreneur, and I wanted like all the things
- 22:30Speaker 4: where I look back now and I'm like, oh, should
- 22:32Speaker 4: I did it? I have all those things I got
- 22:35Speaker 4: down when I was twenty four years old, and like
- 22:37Speaker 4: part of it was wanting to be a dancer too,
- 22:39Speaker 4: and like everything just came. So there's so many full
- 22:41Speaker 4: circle moments. But yeah, I always knew I wanted, Like
- 22:45Speaker 4: if you ask any of my friends or family from
- 22:47Speaker 4: growing up, I was an entertainer. I would stand up
- 22:50Speaker 4: at the dinner table and sing O Canada before dinner.
- 22:53Speaker 4: Like I always was wanting to like make people laugh
- 22:56Speaker 4: or entertain and I just loved that side of things.
- 22:59Speaker 4: Like never in my life did I think that would
- 23:01Speaker 4: happen through the Bachelor world, but I knew I wanted
- 23:04Speaker 4: to do something in the entertainment.
- 23:05Speaker 1: It was a great platform, that's for sure.
- 23:07Speaker 3: And you have to.
- 23:08Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, you're quite the entrepreneur. I was just
- 23:10Speaker 1: reading your successfully launched multiple businesses from wine to scrunchies.
- 23:15Speaker 1: You have your own podcast. How long have you had
- 23:17Speaker 1: your podcast while right?
- 23:19Speaker 4: Almost almost eight years?
- 23:21Speaker 1: Wow, that's impressive. I love it you. You've done so
- 23:27Speaker 1: much with your platform. And I would say, there's a
- 23:30Speaker 1: lot of women out there that get on a reality
- 23:33Speaker 1: show and it's over and they're over. What do you
- 23:35Speaker 1: think that's what makes you successful and all the things?
- 23:38Speaker 1: Is it just your drive or.
- 23:40Speaker 4: Is it what is it? I think it's a lot
- 23:43Speaker 4: of things. I think I definitely had the right team
- 23:45Speaker 4: of people around me when I came off the show,
- 23:48Speaker 4: because I think if it was up to me, I
- 23:50Speaker 4: would have just continued to be like, you're going to
- 23:53Speaker 4: pay me to talk about teeth whitening and waist trainers
- 23:58Speaker 4: and not that there's anything wrong with that, because I'm like,
- 24:00Speaker 4: that's that's some serious mind you sponsorship, Yeah, I don't.
- 24:05Speaker 4: I My girlfriend just was in the industry, and you know,
- 24:09Speaker 4: I came from I had a job at a restaurant
- 24:13Speaker 4: and I was teaching spin classes and making and meet
- 24:17Speaker 4: and so to be offered a significant amount of money
- 24:21Speaker 4: to post something on Instagram felt like a dream. But
- 24:24Speaker 4: my girlfriend, who used to work for Scooter Braun, called
- 24:27Speaker 4: me and was like, I don't care how much they paid,
- 24:30Speaker 4: you delete that off your Instagram right now if you
- 24:32Speaker 4: want to build a loyal following and a career and
- 24:35Speaker 4: a brand out of this. And that was in twenty fifteen,
- 24:38Speaker 4: so this was like right when Instagram was becoming something
- 24:41Speaker 4: that you could build a business off of and you
- 24:43Speaker 4: could really make money. And so she told me, I
- 24:46Speaker 4: need to be smart about it. And we hired a
- 24:48Speaker 4: team and some of the people on the team were
- 24:51Speaker 4: my friends and some people I'd just been in the industry.
- 24:55Speaker 4: And I think I just like, slowly but surely learned
- 24:58Speaker 4: on the value of of building a community over like
- 25:02Speaker 4: building your bank, and that the audience will start to trust.
- 25:07Speaker 1: You and you have to be authentic to your brand. Yeah,
- 25:10Speaker 1: I've done I've made those mistakes. Like one time, I'm yeah,
- 25:13Speaker 1: I promoted a vibrator and I'm like, I'm not doing
- 25:16Speaker 1: that again.
- 25:17Speaker 4: I did that.
- 25:17Speaker 2: I talk about it about Kitlin. Can you talk about
- 25:20Speaker 2: specific things you would do so so?
- 25:23Speaker 3: So, were you just more mindful about the brand deals
- 25:25Speaker 3: you took or you talked about like building community. What
- 25:27Speaker 3: does that look like to you in like day to
- 25:29Speaker 3: day execution, like things you do to to build a community,
- 25:32Speaker 3: not just you know, shill a product if there's anything
- 25:35Speaker 3: wrong with Yeah.
- 25:36Speaker 4: No, totally. And again yeah, I'm like I would have
- 25:40Speaker 4: done the same thing, and who wouldn't you know? But
- 25:43Speaker 4: for me, I think I didn't realize that I was
- 25:48Speaker 4: quite the controversial bachelorette because I talked about sex. I
- 25:52Speaker 4: had sex before the Fantasy suite, and it was this
- 25:54Speaker 4: big like thing where I was like, oh, do people
- 25:56Speaker 4: not talk about this? I didn't, I didn't know, And
- 25:59Speaker 4: I think I got heavily slut shamed on the show
- 26:03Speaker 4: and death threats and people just hated me for you know,
- 26:08Speaker 4: not waiting for marriage or something. I think. I think
- 26:10Speaker 4: a lot of people that watch that show are quite religious,
- 26:12Speaker 4: and you know, it was just like the craziest thing
- 26:15Speaker 4: to people.
- 26:15Speaker 1: That I religious. But they'll send you a death threat.
- 26:18Speaker 4: Exactly, yes, but Jesus does not did not love me
- 26:21Speaker 4: in their eyes for having sex.
- 26:23Speaker 1: Jesus wants you dead.
- 26:25Speaker 4: Yeah, And so I felt so alone for like a
- 26:30Speaker 4: short amount of time, and then when I addressed it,
- 26:32Speaker 4: and started talking about how bullied I was getting and
- 26:37Speaker 4: just how much it was affecting me. I saw people
- 26:39Speaker 4: really like come together and other women who said certain
- 26:44Speaker 4: things like you made me feel less alone. You made
- 26:47Speaker 4: me know it's okay to talk about this. I don't
- 26:50Speaker 4: have to feel shame around this. And I started seeing
- 26:53Speaker 4: the value in like people coming together and not feeling
- 26:59Speaker 4: alone in some and so I kind of used my
- 27:02Speaker 4: platform as this safe space to just like talk about
- 27:06Speaker 4: things that were faux pas or talk about things that
- 27:09Speaker 4: were too.
- 27:10Speaker 1: Mental health as well. You've been very open about your
- 27:12Speaker 1: mental health journey. Is there any advice that you can Yeah,
- 27:15Speaker 1: others that are struggling with anxiety and depression. I mean,
- 27:17Speaker 1: I mean I know so many people. Even my daughter
- 27:20Speaker 1: who's eighteen, she struggled with anxiety.
- 27:23Speaker 4: Oh yeah, Oh I'm sorry. It's such a it's I mean,
- 27:26Speaker 4: I feel like it's just becoming more and more common
- 27:28Speaker 4: to and it kind of ties into this whole community
- 27:31Speaker 4: thing because again I kept I'm such an open book
- 27:36Speaker 4: and I'll talk about anything all the time, and to
- 27:39Speaker 4: have my own platform on social media, it's like, how
- 27:41Speaker 4: incredible is this I'm having, you know, being able to
- 27:44Speaker 4: take my podcast on tour and see all the people
- 27:47Speaker 4: that listen and how you know, talking about mental health,
- 27:51Speaker 4: talking about anxiety has just made people feel less alone,
- 27:56Speaker 4: more seen a safe space in this. I have a
- 28:00Speaker 4: Facebook group of people that listen to the podcast and
- 28:03Speaker 4: it's just turned into this wonderful like forty thousand people friendship,
- 28:08Speaker 4: it feels like, and I love. Everybody talks about different
- 28:11Speaker 4: things in there, and a lot of it is mental health,
- 28:14Speaker 4: people struggling and what and everybody just shows up for
- 28:17Speaker 4: each other on there, and it's so cool, so important. Yeah,
- 28:22Speaker 4: it really is. I again, I struggle with PMDD, so
- 28:26Speaker 4: pre menstrual mood disorder, and I get it bad. I
- 28:31Speaker 4: go into a very dark place and I get depression.
- 28:34Speaker 4: And anxiety for me shows up in a lot of
- 28:38Speaker 4: different ways other than panic attacks. I could sit here
- 28:41Speaker 4: for an hour and tell you about my anxiety. But
- 28:42Speaker 4: I think my advice to people is again finding community,
- 28:46Speaker 4: and it's finding you know, there's so many Facebook groups
- 28:49Speaker 4: out there, there's so many people out in the world
- 28:51Speaker 4: that are ready to talk about their mental health struggles.
- 28:53Speaker 4: There's books on it, there's so many resources, there's podcasts,
- 28:56Speaker 4: there's things that you could do to feel less alone.
- 28:59Speaker 4: And I think it's like for me, I kind of
- 29:01Speaker 4: learned how to surrender to the depression and anxiety and
- 29:04Speaker 4: used it as a tool to listen to my body,
- 29:06Speaker 4: Like my body's trying to tell me something, like something
- 29:09Speaker 4: feels off. Maybe I haven't gotten enough rest the night before.
- 29:12Speaker 4: Maybe I drank too much wine that day, Like maybe
- 29:15Speaker 4: I did this, Maybe I need to move my body
- 29:17Speaker 4: a little more. And I think we all don't know
- 29:21Speaker 4: the power of our own body and intuition and gut,
- 29:26Speaker 4: and it's always trying to tell us something. So I
- 29:28Speaker 4: think it's you got to lean into what it is
- 29:31Speaker 4: that you need to pay attention to.
- 29:32Speaker 2: Heelen.
- 29:33Speaker 3: You talk about this Facebook group of forty thousand people,
- 29:36Speaker 3: Do you feel like you have a responsibility or a
- 29:38Speaker 3: pressure that comes along with that, because like you're you're
- 29:41Speaker 3: the summit of the forty thousand people.
- 29:44Speaker 4: Yes, I've thought about shutting it down a few times
- 29:47Speaker 4: when it gets rowdy in there, because I'm like, ah,
- 29:50Speaker 4: this is on me, Like it's it's terrifying because I
- 29:53Speaker 4: feel a responsibility just in general with you know, everything
- 29:56Speaker 4: that's going on in the world. People think if you
- 29:58Speaker 4: have a platform, you should speak up on it, and
- 30:00Speaker 4: I don't agree with that, and so I do sometimes
- 30:06Speaker 4: feel this responsibility, and especially in the Facebook group, like
- 30:11Speaker 4: I almost think like the one point eight million followers
- 30:14Speaker 4: on Instagram is like lovely and wonderful and up and
- 30:17Speaker 4: down and scary and amazing and all the different things.
- 30:20Speaker 4: But that smaller community that I've built with off the
- 30:23Speaker 4: vine listeners feels personal. It feels really personal. It feels
- 30:27Speaker 4: like people are choosing to be there. They choose to
- 30:29Speaker 4: listen to me two hours a week. They're like, it
- 30:32Speaker 4: does feel a little more personal. So yeah, I feel
- 30:34Speaker 4: a lot of pressure because I can't be there for
- 30:38Speaker 4: all of it and I can't change people's mind and
- 30:40Speaker 4: I can't have that kind of responsibility because I'll take
- 30:44Speaker 4: it on. So again, I have to watch how I
- 30:47Speaker 4: show up in there, because if I'm having a bad day,
- 30:50Speaker 4: I actually will go in there and see that everybody like,
- 30:54Speaker 4: you know, being there for one another. But then other
- 30:58Speaker 4: times I'll look on there and I'm like, do you
- 31:00Speaker 4: guys forget this is my page?
- 31:01Speaker 1: They'll like be.
- 31:02Speaker 4: Talking about my ex boyfriend and how happy they are
- 31:04Speaker 4: for him, and I'm like, well, yes, second, Yeah, It's
- 31:08Speaker 4: a mixed bag of feelings in there, but yes, I
- 31:11Speaker 4: do feel a responsibility and it does get challenging at times.
- 31:15Speaker 2: So I mean, you've been able.
- 31:17Speaker 3: The interesting thing about you and other people we've brought
- 31:20Speaker 3: on this podcast, it's like, Okay, you have this window
- 31:23Speaker 3: and then it's not just a window anymore.
- 31:25Speaker 2: It's like you've extended it.
- 31:26Speaker 3: You've been able to morph this entire career to exactly
- 31:29Speaker 3: what you've wanted it to be.
- 31:31Speaker 2: Looking back, like, what has allowed you to do that?
- 31:34Speaker 3: I know he said you've had a good team and
- 31:36Speaker 3: that's part of it, but also internally, like I'm sure
- 31:39Speaker 3: you've had to pivot and do things like that, But
- 31:41Speaker 3: what do you if you could tie it back to
- 31:42Speaker 3: one thing that you've done to like have this longevity
- 31:47Speaker 3: in a space that could.
- 31:48Speaker 2: Go like that.
- 31:49Speaker 4: I do think it has everything to do with showing
- 31:53Speaker 4: up authentically, Like I think we see so many people
- 31:57Speaker 4: show up on the internet like in ways where you're like,
- 32:02Speaker 4: what are you just saying that because you have a
- 32:05Speaker 4: brand deal coming up with them? Are you just saying
- 32:07Speaker 4: that because you know that's what sounds good? Are you
- 32:09Speaker 4: saying that because that gets you the most likes, the
- 32:11Speaker 4: most engagement, are you like, what are you doing this for?
- 32:14Speaker 4: And I think a lot of times, and I believe
- 32:16Speaker 4: this for like everybody in life, whether you have a
- 32:18Speaker 4: platform or you don't, for people who are listening to
- 32:21Speaker 4: this podcast or watching or whatever they're doing. I think
- 32:24Speaker 4: when you align yourself with your truest, most authentic self,
- 32:29Speaker 4: with the people that you surround yourself with, with how
- 32:32Speaker 4: you show up in the world, I think that will
- 32:35Speaker 4: always put you on the right path or doing things
- 32:37Speaker 4: that you love. And sometimes, you know, I'm such a
- 32:41Speaker 4: big believer in manifesting, and sometimes people think like, well,
- 32:43Speaker 4: can I just think about a million dollars and I'll
- 32:45Speaker 4: have it, Like is that manifesting? And I'm like, No,
- 32:48Speaker 4: Manifesting actually takes a lot of hard work, a lot
- 32:50Speaker 4: of patients, a lot of putting yourself in situations that
- 32:52Speaker 4: not a lot of other people would put themselves in.
- 32:55Speaker 4: It's stepping outside of your comfort zone to align yourself
- 32:59Speaker 4: with the right place as people in life, to go
- 33:01Speaker 4: where you want to go, and taking risks. And I
- 33:04Speaker 4: just think I've always I always think my parents because
- 33:08Speaker 4: they always let me be me, whether it was like
- 33:13Speaker 4: I was so shy in elementary school and that I
- 33:17Speaker 4: came out of my shell, and then I was a
- 33:18Speaker 4: wild child, and then I wanted to like get tattoos
- 33:21Speaker 4: and move all over the world. My parents just always
- 33:23Speaker 4: embraced me to be who I really wanted to be
- 33:26Speaker 4: and find my own path. And I just think that
- 33:31Speaker 4: coming out of a show, I think I really was like,
- 33:33Speaker 4: how do I stay humble, not get lost in this,
- 33:37Speaker 4: not treat it like a drug that I get a
- 33:39Speaker 4: taste of and get addicted to any sort of fame
- 33:41Speaker 4: or attention, and really build something meaningful. And I think
- 33:45Speaker 4: that always wins for sure.
- 33:48Speaker 1: I'm the same way with my kids. As long as
- 33:50Speaker 1: you are good human beings and you are nice people,
- 33:53Speaker 1: I don't care. Like if you want to dye your
- 33:55Speaker 1: hair blue, pink, whatever, I don't care. I just I
- 33:58Speaker 1: want you to be able to express your self and
- 34:00Speaker 1: show your creativity on your own and not me telling
- 34:04Speaker 1: you what to do.
- 34:05Speaker 4: That's that's important. Unless I was on Big Brother, then
- 34:08Speaker 4: I would be a line sheet and Steven of a shot,
- 34:11Speaker 4: I would go.
- 34:12Speaker 2: For it, including Big Brother.
- 34:16Speaker 3: Are there any other competition shows you think you would
- 34:18Speaker 3: do well on and want to be Because when you
- 34:20Speaker 3: say you want to go in Big Brother, I'm like,
- 34:22Speaker 3: when Celebrity Big Brother rolls around, you seem like you'd
- 34:24Speaker 3: be a shoe.
- 34:25Speaker 1: Is it coming back Celebrity Big Brother?
- 34:26Speaker 3: Do you know?
- 34:27Speaker 2: I don't know. I think it all depends based on,
- 34:29Speaker 2: like ear the industry is.
- 34:30Speaker 4: I would love to, but I don't think they take
- 34:33Speaker 4: people from ABC. I've never seen a Bachelor person or
- 34:36Speaker 4: someone from ABC because it's like a competitive network. I
- 34:39Speaker 4: don't know if that has anything to do with it,
- 34:41Speaker 4: but I would do anything to have any kind of
- 34:44Speaker 4: Big Brother experience. I also loved you on Traders. Were
- 34:48Speaker 4: you both on Traders?
- 34:49Speaker 1: Yes, we were on Traders together. That's how we met.
- 34:51Speaker 4: Okay, that's okay, So I watched I can't remember how
- 34:55Speaker 4: many episodes, but I remember, so I was trying to
- 34:57Speaker 4: remember where I knew you from. Duh, that's it. Traders.
- 35:01Speaker 4: Oh you were great on Traders.
- 35:03Speaker 1: Yeah, he was a damn trader. He murdered.
- 35:05Speaker 4: No you you I know you both were really good traders.
- 35:10Speaker 4: I would totally do.
- 35:11Speaker 1: Yeah, it's quite a commitment.
- 35:13Speaker 4: Yeah, I had a commitment.
- 35:15Speaker 1: How do you feel about doing reality shows? Competition shows
- 35:19Speaker 1: where they take your phone away and you're gone for
- 35:22Speaker 1: three to four weeks? And you have no communication to
- 35:24Speaker 1: the outside. You like, it sounds great, don't. You don't
- 35:31Speaker 1: have any children, right, so you have non children. It's
- 35:33Speaker 1: hard when you have kids.
- 35:34Speaker 4: I have two dogs that people think they're like, kay Caitlin,
- 35:38Speaker 4: they're not your children. I'm like, yes they are. They
- 35:40Speaker 4: came out of my room. They are mine. But no,
- 35:43Speaker 4: I think I think to take my phone away and go.
- 35:46Speaker 4: I am such a competitive person. I love competing. I
- 35:52Speaker 4: I just like, I get so dialed in and I
- 35:55Speaker 4: I love not having my phone. So I feel like
- 35:57Speaker 4: that would be amazing.
- 36:00Speaker 1: Well, I hated it. I hated not having my phone.
- 36:02Speaker 3: Speaking of competing, Okay, you've recently had a moment go viral.
- 36:07Speaker 3: You were on Name That Tune and I watched it,
- 36:11Speaker 3: and so you're competing on the show.
- 36:12Speaker 1: But wait, where did you film that at? I was
- 36:14Speaker 1: supposed to do that too.
- 36:16Speaker 2: It was for Fox right, Ireland.
- 36:17Speaker 1: It was in Ireland.
- 36:18Speaker 4: I was supposed in Ireland.
- 36:20Speaker 1: Yeah, and I can't do it Teddy Teddy ended up
- 36:22Speaker 1: doing it. I couldn't. It was a compe should.
- 36:24Speaker 4: Absolutely do it.
- 36:25Speaker 3: So, Kayln, some watches I knew who you were and
- 36:27Speaker 3: like New York Bash and everything.
- 36:29Speaker 2: But there. It's endearing. It's like, Okay, there's this song.
- 36:31Speaker 2: So I was what was it? Old McDonald had a farm.
- 36:34Speaker 2: You didn't know who it was.
- 36:36Speaker 3: But and I know that movement blew up when viral,
- 36:38Speaker 3: but watching your reaction to it, it wasn't like it
- 36:40Speaker 3: just seemed like really authentic and you kind of were
- 36:42Speaker 3: in on the joke hosting fact, what was that like?
- 36:45Speaker 3: I mean, because like it's all it was all over
- 36:47Speaker 3: the place.
- 36:48Speaker 4: I know, it's so funny because I I handled it
- 36:52Speaker 4: much better than I thought I would, because I thought
- 36:55Speaker 4: when Caromo and I were backstage and we were doing
- 36:58Speaker 4: like a practice round in the green room, I was like,
- 37:01Speaker 4: I am going to murder you. I am so good
- 37:04Speaker 4: at this. And then we get out there and you know,
- 37:06Speaker 4: the lights and the cameras and the music and freaking
- 37:10Speaker 4: Randy and I just was so intimidated being out there.
- 37:13Speaker 4: And it's like so much easier when you're watching from
- 37:16Speaker 4: your couch or when the pressure is on and I
- 37:19Speaker 4: go out there and they play and you know, she
- 37:22Speaker 4: sets it up. The host sets it up and says,
- 37:24Speaker 4: all right, Caitlin, this is a gift we're basically giving you,
- 37:28Speaker 4: like the easiest song in the world and it's Old
- 37:31Speaker 4: McDonald had a farm and all I heard was da
- 37:35Speaker 4: da And I'm like, Mary had a little lamb obviously,
- 37:39Speaker 4: and I just there's nothing you could do but laugh
- 37:42Speaker 4: at yourself in those moments, because how does somebody not
- 37:44Speaker 4: get a nursery rhyme?
- 37:46Speaker 1: Like, right, I'm laughing at yourself is the best.
- 37:48Speaker 2: I don't know it was because you're Canadian. I'm like,
- 37:49Speaker 2: I don't Maybe they'll have Old McDonald in Canada. I
- 37:52Speaker 2: don't know.
- 37:53Speaker 1: I should have.
- 37:54Speaker 2: Thought of that.
- 37:54Speaker 4: I should have thought of that. I blame being Canadian
- 37:57Speaker 4: on so many things. I don't know. I didn't know
- 37:58Speaker 4: that I'm Canadian. I didn't know, but I know, I know.
- 38:05Speaker 1: We got to wrap it up right now. I just
- 38:07Speaker 1: want to thank you so much for you know, coming
- 38:10Speaker 1: on our podcast and we adore you. I have some
- 38:14Speaker 1: personal questions I want to ask you, but Dan, you can,
- 38:17Speaker 1: you can leave. Yeah, it's about plastic surgery.
- 38:21Speaker 4: I love it.
- 38:21Speaker 3: It's been a pleasure, really, It's like it's it's it's
- 38:24Speaker 3: cool to interact you and finally get a chance to
- 38:26Speaker 3: meet and I always find it like so fascinating and
- 38:28Speaker 3: also encouraging and amazing when someone can take the reality
- 38:32Speaker 3: TV experience and essentially make it their own, as opposed
- 38:35Speaker 3: to like this is who you are. You're in this
- 38:36Speaker 3: box and you're like, no, this is my path and
- 38:39Speaker 3: be successful at it. It was amazing, great bucking. Do
- 38:42Speaker 3: you thanks for coming on?
- 38:43Speaker 4: Thank you so much, Waite. Can I ask you a
- 38:45Speaker 4: quick question me? Yeah, yes, okay, I just have to
- 38:51Speaker 4: on Big Brother. When you guys have to do like
- 38:54Speaker 4: your speeches, do someone saying like okay, now you close
- 38:57Speaker 4: the box and you say this ceremony adjourned, Like do
- 39:01Speaker 4: you are they in your ear for that stuff?
- 39:03Speaker 3: So yeah, like there's a speaker and they'll be like, okay,
- 39:05Speaker 3: like here's what you say. So if you botch the
- 39:07Speaker 3: lines or you like the box falls off, they'll say,
- 39:10Speaker 3: just do it again. But like in terms of like
- 39:12Speaker 3: what specifically to say, not really it's not. It's like
- 39:14Speaker 3: they just give you like height, here's where you do this, okay.
- 39:17Speaker 4: And then my only other one was when you're reaching
- 39:20Speaker 4: inside the box for the players for the veto competition.
- 39:23Speaker 4: Is that rigged or is that really at random?
- 39:25Speaker 2: No?
- 39:26Speaker 3: I mean there, I think they've changed that now because
- 39:28Speaker 3: I think people were like peeking. But I mean it's
- 39:31Speaker 3: completely random, but I think some people could like either
- 39:33Speaker 3: feel name like a letter on a ball or whatever,
- 39:36Speaker 3: so they adapted. But that's how I know you'd be
- 39:38Speaker 3: good at Big Brother, because you're thinking about that stuff now.
- 39:41Speaker 3: So when the opportunity comes, I would like to do it,
- 39:45Speaker 3: do it, but also, like you got to hook her up, Dan,
- 39:47Speaker 3: I will.
- 39:48Speaker 2: But don't do it like well, I'll tell you about
- 39:49Speaker 2: it later anyway.
- 39:50Speaker 1: Oh my god, guys, I know Dan has a heart accred.
- 39:53Speaker 1: I do want to ask a couple of questions now, Yeah,
- 39:55Speaker 1: it's really open about plastic surgery. And the reason why
- 39:57Speaker 1: I'm asking you this because you said you admit having
- 40:00Speaker 1: a brow lift and teeth bonding. I'm doing exactly the
- 40:03Speaker 1: same thing next week.
- 40:04Speaker 4: Amazing, Oh amazing.
- 40:06Speaker 1: So I have personal questions for my own the brow
- 40:09Speaker 1: How bad did it hurt?
- 40:11Speaker 2: Okay?
- 40:12Speaker 4: So I think I messed up on the terms. I'm
- 40:16Speaker 4: a browlift by botox and film.
- 40:19Speaker 1: Oh I say you were pretty young? Okay, Okay, so
- 40:22Speaker 1: you didn't, I haven't done here, and then pull the mess.
- 40:26Speaker 1: I'm much older than you, No.
- 40:27Speaker 4: But I am so down to do that, Like whenever
- 40:30Speaker 4: I've I so I've never actually gone under the knife
- 40:34Speaker 4: for any plastic surgery, but I have done a lot
- 40:37Speaker 4: of botox and I've gotten filler.
- 40:39Speaker 1: Well, the worst thing in the world happened to me.
- 40:41Speaker 1: What botox is not working for me on my forehead anymore.
- 40:45Speaker 1: It just decided Nope, not today, not today, forehead.
- 40:51Speaker 4: Wait, is that a thing that can happen?
- 40:53Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, no, I hate it. Wait till you get
- 40:57Speaker 1: like fifty, but yeah it is. And people will say
- 40:59Speaker 1: we'll change it up. When I tried, it didn't work.
- 41:01Speaker 1: So my doctor's like, just get a row lift, and
- 41:02Speaker 1: I'm like, okay, let's do it. Yeah, let's do it.
- 41:06Speaker 1: And then another thing you just did, you did the
- 41:08Speaker 1: prenubo scan. I just got my results back. This is
- 41:11Speaker 1: the second time I've done it. I can't say enough
- 41:14Speaker 1: good things about it. The first time around, I had
- 41:16Speaker 1: they found like assist on my like four different six cysts,
- 41:21Speaker 1: but they found something on my pancreas, which nobody wants
- 41:24Speaker 1: to find anything on their pancreas, and it was very small,
- 41:28Speaker 1: but I was so happy to renew redo it a
- 41:31Speaker 1: year later and it's actually shrinking, so they're like, it's assists.
- 41:34Speaker 1: So you don't worry about it. I'm like, oh, thank god,
- 41:36Speaker 1: but what a piece of mind that is, right?
- 41:39Speaker 4: I know so many people I actually was shocked how
- 41:41Speaker 4: many people, uh like, had comments on that, Like so
- 41:46Speaker 4: many people are like I could never do that and
- 41:48Speaker 4: they're too scared. And I was like, no, you should
- 41:50Speaker 4: be scared to not do that.
- 41:52Speaker 1: My husband wanted it not yeah really yeah, he's like no,
- 41:55Speaker 1: I'm just I'm gonna go the way I'm going to go.
- 41:58Speaker 1: I'm like, well, why when you can prevent it. I
- 41:59Speaker 1: think for me, like if I can prevent it, and
- 42:03Speaker 1: I have children, like I want to be there for them,
- 42:05Speaker 1: and you know, and so to me it was I
- 42:09Speaker 1: want I had to do it. In fact, I want
- 42:10Speaker 1: to have my mom do it as well. She's seventy
- 42:13Speaker 1: five years old now, so I'm like I want my
- 42:15Speaker 1: parents to do it too.
- 42:16Speaker 4: I just think it's so like, what a what an
- 42:19Speaker 4: incredible breakthrough we can have for this. I feel like
- 42:25Speaker 4: we're all scared of how many people are we hearing
- 42:28Speaker 4: about getting cancer and this aneurysms, and so I was like,
- 42:32Speaker 4: oh my gosh, they couldn't get me in that MRI.
- 42:35Speaker 4: Soon enough, I wanted to know everything and it is scary,
- 42:38Speaker 4: of course, but I was like so excited because I
- 42:41Speaker 4: wanted to know how to I want to have kids
- 42:43Speaker 4: and I'm thirty nine and so to know that I
- 42:46Speaker 4: have fibroids and like to get a like I'm get
- 42:48Speaker 4: ahead of the appointment with my obg yn. Like, let's
- 42:51Speaker 4: talk about it. Yeah, I think it's important.
- 42:53Speaker 1: Yeah, but that's that's the only thing I wanted to
- 42:56Speaker 1: talk to you about personally. But I thought, oh my god,
- 42:57Speaker 1: she had a brow lift. She's actually too young, I
- 42:59Speaker 1: would say, So it makes sense now.
- 43:01Speaker 4: It was just from I know, I didn't realize. I
- 43:04Speaker 4: didn't realize that you could do an actual browl of
- 43:06Speaker 4: I mean, don't get me wrong. When I get to
- 43:08Speaker 4: an age where I feel like that's time for me,
- 43:10Speaker 4: I anything that makes me feel young I want to do.
- 43:15Speaker 4: I don't know why people have such an issue and
- 43:19Speaker 4: hate on people for doing these things. If it makes
- 43:21Speaker 4: them feel.
- 43:22Speaker 1: Good better, That's what I always say. If it makes
- 43:24Speaker 1: you feel better, than do it. Don't ever do it
- 43:26Speaker 1: for somebody else, Just yeah, for yourself. But I just
- 43:30Speaker 1: want to thank you again for coming on, thank you
- 43:33Speaker 1: for having me. Yeah, and enjoy the rest of your day.
- 43:36Speaker 4: Thank you so much you as well. It was a
- 43:38Speaker 4: pleasure and I appreciate you guys having me on and I.
- 43:41Speaker 1: Hope to see you on Traders.
- 43:42Speaker 4: Yeah, lead too.
- 43:43Speaker 1: They just renewed it for two more seasons. So I
- 43:46Speaker 1: keep saying they're going to run out of reality people
- 43:48Speaker 1: because they do twenty twenty each season.
- 43:51Speaker 4: Oh oh, there's enough reality people to go looking for
- 43:54Speaker 4: forty more.
- 43:56Speaker 3: Good.
- 43:56Speaker 4: I'll I know one of the casting directors. I'll just
- 43:59Speaker 4: go raise my hand with them.
- 44:02Speaker 1: Thank you so much. Okay, it was great meeting you.
- 44:04Speaker 1: Bye bye.
