- 0:01Listen, man, you gotta let it go, relax for a couple of
- 0:03days with your family, come back fresh on Monday. Really, you're bad.
- 0:15You bit me my own dog. Bit me. Four finger discount,
- 0:24dude, Welcome to four figure discount where this week we're gonna be reviewing Stop
- 0:44Oh, My Dog Will Shoot Iron and O Wolf for fourth and I am
- 0:47guy, are you a wolf? Wlf? Wolf for a rough? Rough?
- 0:49Rouff? Whatever? I understood why they say rough? I guess they
- 0:51do sound like rough? Rough sounds closer to wolf. It does? Rough?
- 0:56Yeah, rough is more of the sound, isn't it. Yeah,
- 0:58rough is what a wolf sounds like. Well, the action is too wolf,
- 1:03but that actually sounds like a rough. Thank you for being very precise
- 1:06about it, cat in the ours. But what I guess me how kind
- 1:08of sounds like? Do they? Yeah? I guess I kind of yeah.
- 1:14Yam yeam, yam, yeah, yeah, yam. Yeah. We're
- 1:15definitely appealing to the fetishists. Yes, the cosplayers, Yeah, this time
- 1:22around. But we'll get off that. Yeah, as they get off on
- 1:25a well played damn Stop on my Dog Will Shoot an episode that you know,
- 1:30it was there, It had its moments, but I thought the opening
- 1:34Maye segment just bore the hell out of me. Was it there? My
- 1:37second note, Wow, not a lot happening. No, No, not
- 1:40a lot happening in this one. This very much felt again like an episode
- 1:42that you know, they're making a movie at the same time, so that
- 1:45haven't have a time to sort of dedicate to making this somewhat entertaining. But
- 1:49I always like the Bart and Santasortle helper stories. Everyone loves them. We've
- 1:52had a pet dog, you can relate to this, But I don't think
- 1:55they really they didn't go heavy enough with that. When Santa's little help a
- 1:57bit Bart right hmm, that should have made you don't really see that they
- 2:01just kicked him out of the house. I feel like the response from Bart
- 2:06there should have there should have been more focused on that, the relationship of
- 2:07Bart and Sanders, because at the end he's just like, hey, you're
- 2:09my dog again. I was like, that's a bit of big betrayal of
- 2:14trust right there. I mean, if you've got your beloved childhood pet that
- 2:19you know takes a nip out, you dogs in particular, we tend to
- 2:22view those as all faithful, as you know, friendly and loving and never
- 2:25do wrong by cats. On the other hand, they're just pieces of ship
- 2:29that just crazy cats. Not for me anymore at all. But I just
- 2:32think that there when that happened, I went, oh, that's a that's
- 2:36a big moment. We've never seen santas Laper attack Bart before. Yeah,
- 2:39And I just don't think they really gave it the attention that it deserved.
- 2:43But I did. I did have some not laughing out that most by some
- 2:46chuckles, so we get to those of my favorite moments. But overall I
- 2:49didn't think this was all that much really this episode. No, I think
- 2:52it's again one of these episodes. It's got a pretty it's an idea that
- 2:55you know, someone raises it in the rider's room. It's like what it
- 2:59sound a little baby have a police dog, and everyone goes not bad.
- 3:02It's one of those stories for me where I feel like we already had this
- 3:06before, but we haven't. But it just seems like one they would have
- 3:07already done. He did what did I know? He went to the in
- 3:09the Canine Mutiny when but sells him, gives him up for the we has
- 3:15the credit card scam and ends up getting Laddy and then lets them take that's
- 3:17right. They reclaim they're going to Laddie and they take sen it. This
- 3:20little happened instead, which is a prick move. Absolute though, and there
- 3:23were seen as little Hep doesn't know where he's going. But yeah, I
- 3:25always thought that we had that, but I guess maybe I'm confusing for the
- 3:28Duff and Mackenzie that stuff for it Spuds Mackenzie. Yeah that sounds about right.
- 3:32But yeah, it just feels like a good idea that either wasn't that
- 3:38Yeah, that just wasn't properly fleshed out season eighteen Toobston is we had some
- 3:43ideas, the ideas were there, not even a for effort. That's the
- 3:50problem. The effort was into the ideas for most of these episodes so far.
- 3:53Yeah, so how would you how would you say that a for ideas
- 3:59see for evident? The ideas were evident, but sees get degrees, Yes
- 4:03they do, indeed, yes, But but overall how you been You are
- 4:06just recovering from your chemical brothers and you're so what was it was chemical brothers?
- 4:11Cocaine? And what was the other thing you had at at that festival?
- 4:15Many many beers? It was it was it was a good Weekend Day
- 4:19on the Green. That's the festival that we tend to have just outside Geelong.
- 4:25It used to be an annual thing. I feel like every second weekend
- 4:27Ours Day on the Green. It's so weird, it's funny. They had
- 4:30the big billboards up on eeath the side of the stage and the next one
- 4:33coming up with Chris Aazac, which is kind of the polar opposite with the
- 4:36Chemical Brothers, who was just on an episode of Friends that we reviewed for
- 4:40the One of Our Friends. Yeah, is he like Phoebe's boyfriend? In
- 4:43that one? He kind of boyfriend. It's the one after the super Bowl,
- 4:46Okay, the big one that had as many guest stars as possible.
- 4:49Very charismatic Chap. He was really charismatic in that. But but you can
- 4:55tell you he does, you can tell how charming he is. Also for
- 4:59someone who basically looks like James Dean or something like, it's a real goof.
- 5:02That's what he played up in this episode, kind of you're not a
- 5:04dumb goof, but just a charming goof. Yeah, there's the thing though,
- 5:09Nikol and I discussed that she loves the What's the really slow song?
- 5:13That made him hit Wicked Game or in Love? You know that the big
- 5:17one with you. I think that that's that's weird wik game. I hate
- 5:21that song. Oh no, no, that's what I like. It's the
- 5:24other one. I didn't like that A bit of bad, bad saying.
- 5:27I fucking hated that song when I was a kid. I can live without
- 5:29that one. I like Chris Isaac a lot. Yeah, I mean I
- 5:32remember, I think I've said this. There were two competing music shows like
- 5:39Australian TV. But how ago, oh we said back in the day,
- 5:42back in the day is like my childhood, back in my back in your
- 5:45day. We got a way back back into time. But there was countdown
- 5:49on US on a Sunday night. But there were Sounds Unlimited on US on
- 5:53a Saturday. I never heard of that one. Okay, we had rage
- 5:56and video hits. They were the two competing ones for us. So we're
- 6:00not so we're not so dissimilar. We've got a lot of like you and
- 6:03I Dan, except I was watching it in color. That's true. And
- 6:08also, yeah, your TV wasn't steam powered like no, you just had
- 6:13Bobby on a little bike accident. But one morning it sounds unlimited. They
- 6:18had the clip for which I think was Chris Isaac's first single called Dance and
- 6:23wait. This must have been this eighties, right, This is like eighty
- 6:26five, ra eighty six. This is that long ago. Oh yeah,
- 6:29this photos came out and you see it. It was new when I was
- 6:30a kid. Yeah, you see him back in the day and he's like,
- 6:34who's this Patrick Swayze esque? Yes, very much. So you now
- 6:38he was rocking the elbows esque boufon hair style and you know, slick suit
- 6:43and he looked like he just stepped out of nineteen fifty five or something.
- 6:46But I just remember thinking, Wow, who's this guy and who's this song?
- 6:49This is great. I went down to the record store. There were
- 6:54stores that sold records, and records and records are a thing against You have
- 6:58to explain records anymore, that's correct. There was a time for about twenty
- 7:01five years that he's had to explain records to people. What are these pancakes?
- 7:05Yeah, and bought the album, just played it out because it was
- 7:10yeah, fantastic beauty of vinyls. He put the vinyl on. He just
- 7:13listened to the whole thing. Oh absolutely yeah. But at the Chemical Brothers
- 7:16on on Saturday night they had Chris Iasac coming to Down the Green, two
- 7:19tickets for the price of one. Clearly he's not selling Oh wow, I
- 7:24haven't seen any marketing for it. It's a shame it is. It is,
- 7:27But I get the thing that he's not the kind of songs. He's
- 7:30not really like a headliner, is he? Oh no, I think so?
- 7:31Is he? Okay? Pretty long career Down the Green headliner you reckon.
- 7:36It's like a I feel him. He's like a little Creature's Brewery Sunday
- 7:40afternoon headliner. That's what we were all thinking when we saw it. Was
- 7:42like everyone's going off for Chemical Brothers because it's loud, techno and everyone's just
- 7:46really getting into it. And he's more like, here's here's a song I
- 7:50wrote, well, you know, fall in love. But his song that
- 7:56wicked games. You're saying it takes me back to a movie that I'm recently
- 8:00purchased on Blu Ray, not availble on Blu Ray. In a Stroba in
- 8:01the States, my mate Matt Blumb shout out again, it's bringing it back
- 8:03for me, the family Man, And this is the song when Nicholas Cage
- 8:07finally realizes wait a minute, she's actually really sexy. TAILORIONI right. I
- 8:11should have realized as soon as he saw it was cage, you're an idiot.
- 8:13But she is dancing, acting or sexy, and it's just like your
- 8:16everything do this song. She's drunk in her unease and she's dancing. I'm
- 8:20just like, please hot, I rewatch family man do it. Yes,
- 8:26it's definitely worth it. But a good weekend, yeah, very much.
- 8:28But I am also of advanced years and it takes me a little longer to
- 8:33bounce back from what we call too much fun. He walked in and Nicola
- 8:37goes, hey, are you going just recovering from the weekend? Nicoli goes,
- 8:39it's Wednesday, guy, I'm old. This is what his reply was.
- 8:43I took Elliott too. We had a practice game Gelong Essendon last Friday.
- 8:48Nicola and Holly took. Holly not coming to the footy for the rest
- 8:50of the year, by the way, just had enough by second quarter.
- 8:52She was like, I want to go for what I want to do this.
- 8:54I'm like, we're watching the football. But that was interesting. But
- 8:58Elliott, this was the first time I've seen him at the footy truly invested
- 9:03in the game and he was saying, Geelong is like screaming and cheering,
- 9:07and everyone around him it was almost like he took him along for the ride,
- 9:09because often you go to a game at Geelong and it's pretty quiet,
- 9:13but people sort of sit on their hands all the time. And it was
- 9:16almost like all these adults around him were like, this kid's like five,
- 9:18and get into it. Let's get him feeding off is in there? Yeah?
- 9:20It was great. I really enjoyed it. So this next week the
- 9:24footy starts and I can't wait. Your weekend was a lot more wholesome than
- 9:26mine. Yeah, sounds like it. But you sound like you had a
- 9:28lot more fun than I did, though I had a different kind of fun.
- 9:33I was feeding Alley's energy. You're feeding off of something out something else's
- 9:37energy. Energy comes from other sources. We're not We're not gonna discuss that
- 9:43too much because oh we probably could on the show. Did you pop the
- 9:46pills and go ah oh oh yeah? My favorite favorite moments, mister Davis,
- 9:56What did you enjoy the most from this episode? I'll give you a
- 9:58couple of mine, right, Mine were so Who's gone with whom? I
- 10:01just like that. I thought It was a nice button to that scene because
- 10:03it's obvious, but I just thought it was just fun. Shukoue seems fun.
- 10:05Yeah, dumb, but fun. But she only loves the suit,
- 10:09not mother lay and I was really enjoyed. And it's it's silly, I
- 10:15know, but it come to chuck out of me suggesting take the whole week
- 10:18off. Why did we do that? We're so far behind. We're pretty
- 10:22we're very much on the same page where our favorite moments, because I've written
- 10:24down I love Wiggans Holiday planning, isn't it always the way when you get
- 10:28that, it's like, oh, it's a long weekend. Well it's the
- 10:31last week of school. You just you tune out. Yeah, look,
- 10:35I'm not going to do any work the day before I stop work, so
- 10:39man, might as well take that one off as well. Can I stretch
- 10:41it out to the following Monday? Way you work that, it's like,
- 10:45no, you can't take a date public. They can't take days off after
- 10:46public holidays or this, that and the other. And I'm like, you
- 10:48know, fun, man, indeed, let's go start a podcast. And
- 10:54now old bus when Dando calls me on a public holiday, we're recording but
- 11:03that were my two favorite moments. Ye. I liked both of those very
- 11:05much. I also liked how they folded in theme music from other cops shows.
- 11:11Yeah, the theme from SWAT in there. At some stage we have
- 11:13cops. I don't think we had cops. I don't remember hearing bad boys,
- 11:16bad boys, What are you gonna do? We've had bad cops,
- 11:18bad cops like season four. Yes, But in this episode particularly, I
- 11:22had the theme from SWAT. The I realized that, So that was a
- 11:26TV show? Was it? It wasn't. I had no idea. I
- 11:30had no idea. The movie Swat was a taker for the show, was
- 11:33it? It was? You did Me Have Spell? I did not know
- 11:35that. You had the SWAT TV show back in the seventies and eighties.
- 11:37Then it became the Swat movie with Colin Farrell and cool Ja. Yeah.
- 11:41And now there's another SWAT TV show that's been going for It's one of those
- 11:46ones where you know, nobody watches Free to Wear TV anymore. The Rookie
- 11:50is another one. Yeah. So it's one of those things that's been going
- 11:50for like seven years. Oh my god, you've done like three million episodes
- 11:56of this and I haven't watched a single one. Yeah, because this is
- 12:00the thing. If streaming services don't pick them up, people just don't find
- 12:01them very much up and then streaming services do get them. Was like,
- 12:05I could binge watch seven seasons Suits. I just want to watch more and
- 12:09more, and then the freeway station cancels it and then Netflix picks up for
- 12:11a season and it's never any good. That's true. Well, they because
- 12:16they don't make Suits anymore, right, do that that ended three years ago
- 12:18for you? Well they're now doing this, like ah, really a new
- 12:22series called like Suits La or something felt like the first few seasons of Suits
- 12:26and then it became more about the drama than the court cases. When it
- 12:30was all about the cases and it was more like an episode by episode basis,
- 12:31I find I can enjoy those shows more when it's that kind of show.
- 12:35You know, I can miss a couple of episodes, come back,
- 12:37it's still fine. But when it became so arc field, we don't want
- 12:41to asks. Some shows need arcs. These shows don't need them. In
- 12:45my opinion, shows like The Practice and Boston Legal got aus right, have
- 12:50the odd court case, have the odd non court case, have the odd
- 12:54you know, drama again, yes, but get that balance just right.
- 12:58Yea. But yeah, suits became all about the drama very much so.
- 13:03But I think they also had the theme from NYPD Blue in there at another
- 13:07show I want to watch, Yeah, what's the first episode? And I
- 13:09was like, naked man boobs, What's what's going on here? This was
- 13:13from nineteen ninety on. I did not expect this. It was very ground
- 13:16breaking back at the time. Okay, yeah, we're really pushing the envelope
- 13:20of what you can do on commercial TV. Yeah, it's cool. It's
- 13:24Caruso. Right. Yeah, it leaves pretty early. I'm sure. I
- 13:26think he's in it for a year a year and a half and he was
- 13:30the real breakout star of it, and justifiably so. I mean, he's
- 13:33pretty good in it, but he's like, I'm gonna go be a movie
- 13:35star. Now. Was he a movie star? Well, he tried to.
- 13:39I tried to because then he was like oooh you for someone who was
- 13:43reportedly just a nightmare to work with, I've heard that. Yeah. Yeah,
- 13:48he played his cards very very well in terms of like m I ple
- 13:52d Blue Ye made him a star. The movies that he made didn't do
- 13:56all that well then, lucked him to see some m he did that like
- 14:00twelve years or someone was probably just making money hand over to this and now
- 14:01he's just retired. CSI was sort of like the I also was like the
- 14:05cousin to Law in Order. It was like, you're the CSI man,
- 14:09or you're a law and order man. Very much of it a bit like
- 14:11beetles and stones, Yeah yeah, or backstree boisoning. We've had a lot
- 14:16of feedback people saying yeah, you're right and sync we're not as good as
- 14:18the battery for us, depending on how old you were at the time.
- 14:22I'm glad we're on the right side of history with that one. All right,

- 16:25do that. So you can find that all on our Patreon. Next question,
- 16:30you there eating the beast all right, mister Davis. My first trivia
- 16:34question for you is how far did the family drive to get to that festival?
- 16:41Was it fifty miles? Correct? Yes, okay. Then when Lisa
- 16:45is being thrown in the air to find a way out of the maze,
- 16:48she sees an amateur production of what didn't write any of those down? What
- 16:52were they? It was you can't take it with you? Okay, one
- 16:56of those. The whole mazing except for the visual with the dog going through
- 17:00the base like a nineties doom Mask video game, which I thought was quite
- 17:03a funny visual to the tune of Freaking a Leash? Was it? It
- 17:07did sound a bit corny. It did sound a bit corny. Actually not
- 17:11corny. Is in corny? No corny? That makes sense because they're in
- 17:14a cornfield corny with a Oh my god, these guys are operating on a
- 17:19higher level. We got to start giving them more credit here. I think
- 17:23they might be asleep at the wheel where they're making the movie, and it
- 17:26said they come up with the corn and a corn maze. The song Freak
- 17:27un the Leash by the making new band Metal Corn can be heard while santas
- 17:30Lap is going through the corn maze, So he's a he's a freak.
- 17:34Not on a lot of that stau Yeah, going through a corn maze while
- 17:38Corner is playing. That makes a lot of sense. We're gonna reevaluate this
- 17:44episode five stars would recommend it. Next the cultural references by the way,
- 17:51so Bart's vision Sanders will helps a take off a RoboCop, which we knew
- 17:53justin vohees pit here. But blah Clippy as well, Clip, you should
- 17:56have been in my credebas. I like that. It looks like you're trying
- 17:59to eat me to help you. How annoying was Clippy? Clippy was a
- 18:02bit of a drag. Yeah. When he would pop up, it's like,
- 18:04you know, I don't need your help. I told you to need
- 18:07your help. Stop appearing. There's always that person at the office and need
- 18:11to help with that one they grit the gym. He is, Yeah,
- 18:14can I come to need to want to spot your bro? Yeah? No,
- 18:18thank you. And the title is the reference of the movie which mister
- 18:21Davis it would be Stop or My Mom Will Shoot starring selbst Stallone and the
- 18:26Golden Girls. Is Estelle Getty? Really? What a random combination? Yeah,
- 18:30well, here's the thing about this movie. Now, I don't know
- 18:33if this is a legend or something that Arnold Schwarzenegger made up. He does
- 18:37what to make stuff up? He does, I mean all this it's so
- 18:41funny that documentary that was on Netflix he was talking about or so much of
- 18:45what they said was bullshit. He had some Austrian term for it, and
- 18:49so many people use it as like the soundtrack to their life. They're like
- 18:53inspirational quotes from Arnie. He's like, it's a bullshit. Yeah. Well
- 18:56the thing in Pumping Iron where he's talking about I've been coming in, Yeah,
- 19:00it's like every time I pump up. But it's like I'm when I'm
- 19:03a woman, had coming, so you know, I'm coming all the time.
- 19:06How great is it to be me? And he said later, I
- 19:08was like, it's not like that at all. Some people are been saying,
- 19:11you don't realize NLD probably doesn't have an accent anymore, probably just like
- 19:15hey guys, how a you doing? I love I Love America. But
- 19:22the story that apparently Arnold tells is that he had this rivalry with Stallone around
- 19:27this time, there's the early nineties, and he'd read this script for this
- 19:33action comedy called Stop On My Mum Will Shoot, which is it's a pretty
- 19:37dumb ass movie. It's a ship title. It is it is, I
- 19:41mean, apparently the original title of someone like Dialem for Mother, which I
- 19:44thought was much better and much better. Yes, but he wanted to sort
- 19:48of prank stallone, so he said, Oh, there's this really great action
- 19:53comedy. I'm going to follow up Twins by doing Stop on my mumble.
- 19:56Shoot. I'm still thinking about it though. Maybe I will. Maybe I'll
- 20:00World and Stolen, sort of like I'm trying to get into comedy too.
- 20:03If Anold's into this, I'll try and cut his lunch and get it.
- 20:07Yeah, he made it. It's just this garbage that nobody liked and was
- 20:12like, ah, punked you stop look this up, stop or my mum
- 20:18will shoot. And I have to see the cover of this. Do I
- 20:19remember the cover at least? Um? I have no recollection of this film
- 20:25ever existing. It looks terrible. Yeah, is that what they were taken
- 20:30off? When Arnold Swartzon and Rein New wolf Castle was running out with his
- 20:34grandma on his shoulder. Probably, Yeah, yeah, terrible, But I
- 20:40love that Arnold just mind gaming yeah all the time. Yeah, Well that's
- 20:45why he is who he is. He got to the top, baby,
- 20:48But it was much over a question, isn't it. What was the name
- 20:51of the officer dog that he replaced. Oh, I missed that one officer
- 20:55jaws Jaws. That's right, yeah, Bubby party. Oh when bart is
- 21:00attacked by the maths textbook, what is the angle on the cover? I've
- 21:06said, text man, no idea? What was it? Sixty degrees?
- 21:08Alright, all right, that'll do for trivia. Let's get into a review
- 21:11of stop or my dog will shoot unless you have one more question for me.
- 21:17No, okay, apparently says here on the wiki page. The horn
- 21:19stuffer who would horn stuff? Wuld be the one that pretended Yeah, the
- 21:22horn I imagine. So the corn new Coopia stuffer. That was Maurice LaMarsh,
- 21:26was it? Now? I have him to do a lot of appearances
- 21:29on The Simpsons, but never actually like give him an actual character, true
- 21:32except for that Treus of Horror where he was doing the mowso Wals. But
- 21:34it was good to see his name in there. But there were some other
- 21:37names in the guest star list then, one which always nice to see one
- 21:42is like, oh, in Retrospect and Everything, such a good choice.
- 21:45At the time, everyone must have thought he was though, because he was
- 21:48in Everything was in Sidefeld. He was in a futurema that we did recently.
- 21:52Yeah, but the original edit of Stopping My Dog Will Shoot was May
- 21:55thirteenth, two thousand and seven, production code jab F one two, written
- 21:59by John Frank, directed by Matthew Thorn. Guest starring, as you were
- 22:03saying the guest who was it, Rudy Giuliani, Yes, and Stephen Hawking
- 22:07here you always appreciate and Marius Lamash chopboard game. We got the full intro
- 22:11this time, which was surprising. Did was it pearls and not oyster bath
- 22:15yep? And the cash gag was where the Simpsons family just more and more,
- 22:18just keep coming and appearing. So the episode kicks off with let's go
- 22:22to the top of my notes with the family arriving too well. I think
- 22:26it's Oktoberfest, but it's just half as festival, no alcohol, no fun
- 22:29barts complain they drove so far to get there, March says, because you
- 22:33can plain, you have to go watch this guy make a wagon wheel.
- 22:34Yes, apparently the tasty kind. No, do they have those in the
- 22:40States Or was a wagon wheels an Australian concept? I think it might be
- 22:42very much an Australian thing, but like a flat, like a round of
- 22:45flatter chocolate Royale, aren't they pretty much? My dad loves wagon wheels.
- 22:52What was your dad's chocolate that you knew every time? Is his birthday?
- 22:55But buying these you'll be happy. My dad's is violent crumble, and chocolate
- 22:59royal is violt crumble and wagons. That's a really good question my dad.
- 23:02I don't think I had much of a sweet tooth. Okay. He loved
- 23:04his savory stuff though. Really sausages and mustards really okay, what's what particular
- 23:11sausage any sort of particularly Oh, just a good Kransky cranky okay, yeah,
- 23:15and some nice hot mustards. Takes me back. It's weird when you
- 23:18say Kransky. We used to have German class as a high school. We
- 23:22we studied German as our secondary language, and once every six months or once
- 23:26every couple of months that let us have like face first and bract first day.
- 23:30And I was always in charge of going to pick them up from Sikita
- 23:32Meats. So you give us all, everyone give me five dollars. By
- 23:34the way, shout out to Skeeda Meats should be friend of the pod because
- 23:37I go there all the time to get chevapi and a nice spicy churrizo and
- 23:41some of their burgers. Their fantastavapi is to die for, so good.
- 23:45We're gonna trave them in the fridge of time. I'm going to go home
- 23:48and cook some after we're done recording. Let's wrap this up. I've told
- 23:49this story a million times again. Tell it again. Remember I told the
- 23:52Ford barbecue. Oh yeah, we gave the slav Goo all that money to
- 23:55buy sausages and hambags. He all he bought was a baggage of barba,
- 23:57just a buppy fucking size. It's just a uppi fucking and we're disappointed.
- 24:02And then we gave us to Gavapis. We're like, well played, have
- 24:07some more money. Sakina meets. Yeah, so I'll be in charge of
- 24:11going to get the sausages. We'd go, we'd have a little portable barbecue
- 24:15in the classroom and we'd be learning whilst someone is cooking the bat verson and
- 24:18vice first in the room. Oh my god, it was the greatest,
- 24:21What a way to learn. So you've not forgot that lesson, have you?
- 24:23No? No, not at all. No, shore mister Cabrey,
- 24:26He's not Cabrick. Mister Cabrey. He was our German teacher, a bit
- 24:30of a nod ball. But you look back now and you go, what
- 24:32a fucking legend. Wagon wheels were the Internet of the nineteenth century. Really,
- 24:38No, this winning corner copier is my star. Fuck you stuffed your
- 24:49horn? What everybody does it. I can testify at the trial and gonna
- 25:02be no trial. I felt sorry for it. You can take it back.
- 25:06I'll be your trial. There will be no trial. There's definitely moments
- 25:08where I'd hate to be in that situation where you know you're fucked and you
- 25:12can't do anything about it, where you've fallen. Pray to rural justice.
- 25:17Yeah, not fun. Apologies to our rural listeners. You're probably abide by
- 25:22the rule of law and don't kill people with pitchballs. So there's moments like
- 25:26Robbably, we watched The Equalizer three last night, and there's moments of this
- 25:29kind of aspect in that those movies just get more and more. I was
- 25:33like, oh my god, I'm watching a horror movie. Yeah, mccaull
- 25:38is basically like Jason Boy. Yeah, I won't spoil anything, but when
- 25:41that guy goes out the window. I said to Nikola The one thing they
- 25:45do so well in these films that john Wick films don't do is they make
- 25:48you hate the villains so much that you want them to see this happen to
- 25:52them. John Wick first, the first one a Killity Dog Yip, so
- 25:56bit by the end of it was just John Weiks going around killing guys were
- 26:00trying to kill him. That was it. Yeah, I feel bad for
- 26:02the Henchman than john Wick. Yeah, where this one here, I'm like,
- 26:03these guys need to die. Yeah, and luckily they do. Sorry,
- 26:07you're really a spoiler of Egalizer three. You know shit's going to get
- 26:11equalized. Yeah, and it's so funny. So we watching it and nickol
- 26:15and I just sit there the entire time going, oh, you're going to
- 26:17be equalized. They are. I enjoy them more than john Wick. I'm
- 26:22not gonna lie. I love john Wick, but I watched this and I'm
- 26:23like, this is what john Wick should have been, I think. So
- 26:26they're a bit more sort of down and dirty. Yeah good, yeah,
- 26:29really good stuff. So if you've never seen the Equalizer of trilogy, do
- 26:30it. I'm sad it's not gonna be another one, but they're doing a
- 26:33prequel trilogy apparently I would if they do a prequel with be Jordans apparently gonna
- 26:37be playing him, Well, get John David Washington, get his son.
- 26:40That'd be cool. Who's a really good action star. I mean, he
- 26:42did a great job in Tenant. So yep, I'll be all for it.
- 26:47Let's do it. Yeah, let's make it happen. Let's write it
- 26:48ourself. And also let's do a sequel to Tenant with Denzel Washington playing his
- 26:52son's character in the future, and and better sound quality and better and so
- 26:59you can actually hear that what people saying. But Homer sees the thing for
- 27:00the maze, the corn maze. Bet you can't solve our maze. He
- 27:03gets offended by this and he's going to leave, and then walks into the
- 27:06maze, apparently with the family. Anyway, I didn't. I thought that
- 27:07was kind of funny that, yeah, oh screwed this maze. I wait,
- 27:11yeah, it's funny. They're all in the maze. He throws Lisa
- 27:15to try and find himself. If it's lost in a maze. I've been
- 27:17lost in the maze once and it was fucking infuriating. Was a hedge maze?
- 27:22I've been in a few hedge mazes, and I don't think I've ever
- 27:23got lost, but I think at some stage I was like, I don't
- 27:27think I'm going to go into any more hedge mazes. I'm just bored of
- 27:30this. It would be embarrassing. Well, I we did it on our
- 27:33honeymoon. I said to Nicola, We're wasting so much time in this thing.
- 27:37This isn't fun anymore. We could be doing stuff that people do on
- 27:38a honeymoon. We could be doing each other trying to get out of the
- 27:42hedge maze. So that yeah, they're stuck. Then they march, just
- 27:48splitting up. I wasn't a fan of this next bit either, the whole
- 27:51Homer thinking that she means the marriage, and he gets goes on and on,
- 27:53and then he's like, before I met you, I had friends and
- 27:56dreams and it's just whatever. Some of these jokes just go on too long.
- 27:59Hundred and Yeah. So Homer then tries walking trying to just tries walking
- 28:04walking through walking through us right the electrified fence. Yeah, it doesn't end
- 28:07well for him, and he says, how come things having stupid people keep
- 28:11happening to me? I feel like that's one of those things that they thought
- 28:12was funny in the rider's room. But it's not funny. That's just a
- 28:18thought that we have in our head. I felt when we're watching this,
- 28:21I felt like the why can't I have free money? Trying to recapture that.
- 28:25Yes, but the kids then they used Tremos algorithm. I want to
- 28:27say it was Tremo's algorithm to get out of the maze. So but anyway,
- 28:32Marge, Lisa, and Bart have all escaped. It's now nighttime.
- 28:34Homer are still stuck in the maze. He's starving and since there's no corn
- 28:37holders, he won't into the corn. Then the police arrive. They bring
- 28:41Officer Jaws to help, but she's recently had some puppies, so she's now
- 28:45not going to be able to help. And we can suggest a puppy party
- 28:47in his place. And then Bart says, oh, he just calls down
- 28:49a little help. Whos apparently just in the car for whatever reason. Yeah,
- 28:53with the windows up, Yeah, slightly down but not much. Yeah,
- 28:57it looked like that dog was not happy to be in Like, oh,
- 29:00actually the dogs Yep, he got out to the hole in the floor.
- 29:04Yeah, almost keep a window cracked and little Bowler or the window was
- 29:07cracked, Okay, yeah slightly, but he's trying to get out the window
- 29:11at first and could I'm glad someone didn't get fired for that blunder. But
- 29:14he goes out through the hole in the car floor and then they've randomly just
- 29:17got a home's backpack. Now I'm like, where did this backpack come from?
- 29:21No one's holding it a second ago. They find his sports br in
- 29:23there, and he sniffed the scent and then he goes through I've got doom
- 29:27style. That's what it felt like, playing like a nineties first person Yeah,
- 29:30I felt very first person shooter. Yes. And what was another one?
- 29:33Quake was another one I used to play with my friends. Quake,
- 29:37Doom an the others, you weren't really much of a game. They were
- 29:40not really No. Once I defeated Goro in Mortal Combat, that was it.
- 29:42That was it. I retired undefeated. Missus. Kay's in the maze
- 29:47making out of somebody. Barney's there, drunk Stephen Hawking. He escapes by
- 29:51just going up in his in his wheelchair. I won't know how they got
- 29:53I mean not I know how they got Stephen Hawking. I mean they probably
- 29:56got him on speed Daran saying, hey, did you enjoy being on it
- 29:59last time? Do you want to be on it again? It's like,
- 30:00how did they think of Stephen hooking for this particular thing? Do they get
- 30:03in touch and say you want to say a line? Just one line?
- 30:06Yeah? Weird. He's been on like four times now, The Simpsons.
- 30:10I feel like by this point, Yeah, it's always nice to see him.
- 30:11He finds the dog, finds Homer writing out what you think it's gonna
- 30:15be as well? But it's his oscar picks. Oscars are coming up very
- 30:18soon, aren't they. I think it's next week next week? Yeah,
- 30:21who's your pick for best actor? I'll see if you're right, I'm gonna
- 30:25say Killian Murphy for Roppenheimer. It's gonna win everything, isn't it? Probably
- 30:29but deservedly sounds a good movie. Yeah, Yeah, it's good. That's
- 30:30pretty good, quite good. Quite, you can do it. I can
- 30:33borrow you four K by the way you do, because I'm like, we're
- 30:36gonna watch this movie. I've got to watch it, and at least four
- 30:37K because it appeared on the subtitles, because it's Christopher Nolan movie. Yes,
- 30:44and it appeared on Amazon Prime and I cooked it. I was like,
- 30:45you can rent this for nineteen ninety five and not paying twenty dollars to
- 30:48rent this movie? Ew crazy. The said as little help with drag SOMEB
- 30:52to safety. And then the police are now just randomly back again because I
- 30:56thought they left for a puppy party. Anyway, they're there and he he
- 31:00suggested he should become a police dogar they suggest it, and then Home eventually
- 31:03agrees for that to be allowed to happen. We come back from commercial and
- 31:07they're dropping Santa as little helper off at the Dog Academy, and we get
- 31:10Bart's vision of what Santa's little helpers a robodog would look like. Kills Jason
- 31:14Pinhead and the Maths Book, and I always like a good Pinhead Jason reference
- 31:18pin Head doesn't get enough love. I don't think. No, we tend
- 31:22to just use Jason. I think Jason Freddy and occasionally Michael Myers. Yeah,
- 31:26I think in order it's probably gonna be yeah, Jason, very closely
- 31:30followed by Freddy, then Michael Meyers, then probably Pinhead's no other top slash,
- 31:33Yeah, what about troll Candyman Candy Here was a weird one. It's
- 31:38like I watched it again by a year ago and I was like, I
- 31:41was so scared of this when I was a kid. Why he's more sort
- 31:45of elegant than anything else, except when he's ripping you apart with his hook
- 31:48that the hell Raiser films are pretty gruesome, the bit oh god, the
- 31:53first two especially. I've watched it when I was about thirteen fourteen, I
- 31:56was like, this is a bit skimmy for me. Yes, absolutely,
- 32:00when they're getting the hooks pull them apart and stuff and not fun, not
- 32:04fun at all. But yeah, so you've had the visions of but think
- 32:07it's going to be great having sales little helper as a police dog. All
- 32:13right, listen up. For the next two weeks, I'm going to be
- 32:15your worst enemy. Except this Thursday is the fourth of July, so we'll
- 32:20take Friday off as well. Well. I guess Wednesday, everybody's going to
- 32:22be thinking about the long weekend. So now, what the hell, why
- 32:25don't we just take the whole week off? Why did you let me do
- 32:30that? We are so far behind. Then we get the montage of the
- 32:32training and he yells at Loo for using slang terms like blowing cage and then
- 32:37the graduation we have Rudy Giuliani and yeah, it's always weird scene. He's
- 32:40got to pop up now knowing what we know in twenty twenty four, isn't
- 32:44it, knowing that he's basically a Trump guy and a bit of a poof
- 32:49According to that Second Boat movie, he would just never recover from doing that
- 32:52speech at that that hardware store or whatever it was. Yeah, how does
- 32:57that happen? I don't have this and how do you get to that moment
- 33:00and go, well, let's just go with it. We're here now,
- 33:04might as well you might as just keep driving. We don't want to appear
- 33:08agist here at the forefinger of this can network because its quite frankly, I'm
- 33:12old Dan. It's going to give me the boot in favor of Elliott any
- 33:16day now. But at the same time, the reason that seats warm you
- 33:21say that because he on it. But I think once you reach a certain
- 33:25stage of your life, you should maybe try to bow out from public service
- 33:30or take a step back at least, and maybe not face forward so much,
- 33:34and maybe just to offer advice from the manipulate from behind closed, manipulate
- 33:37from your high and also give the people that you were manipulating an opportunity to
- 33:42say it's a terrible idea. A filter. But sat as a little helper
- 33:45and lou are now driving on his first day, and he says it's not
- 33:49gonna be easy. It's not gonna be like air Bud five Strong Arm of
- 33:52the Poor like that, And there's a domestic disturbance and it's clear tos some
- 33:54brandy and she's pissed off because he gave a pick a day of beauty.
- 33:57That's correct. Have you watched an air Bud movie? I never have.
- 34:00I never have. As well, I remember as a kid thinking this could
- 34:04be fun, but I think I was too old to enjoy it. So
- 34:09I don't think. I just don't think I bothered. I think I was
- 34:10like I would have been like maybe twelve. When the first one came out,
- 34:14I was like, this seems too kitty for me. This is the
- 34:15little kids. Yeah, just it just seems like it was three years prior.
- 34:17I probably would have watched it. Have you ever seen it? I've
- 34:20never seen an air Bud. Yeah, I know this seems a bit wacky.
- 34:23A dog playing bars. It could be great. It's like five or
- 34:25six. They obviously successful. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, when did the
- 34:29first one come out? What do you think the first one came in?
- 34:30I'm going to say sometime in the nineties nineties. You reckon air Bud the
- 34:35first one ninety seven, so I mean, yeah, more than I never
- 34:38did see that. It's bizarre how many of them are there. Now,
- 34:40let's have a look. So like a air Bud series. But air Bud
- 34:45is a Golden Retriever, Yes he is, yes, But so there's one
- 34:50two. So there's snow Buddies, which is like a branch. So there's
- 34:53one two like an extreme skier or something. There's yeah, I know,
- 34:58this is just a husky. There there's buddies. There's Space Buddies. There's
- 35:00Treasure Buddies. There's Spooky Buddies. There's Santa Buddies. These like Bud related
- 35:07to all these different movies entirely. They all look the same. They're all
- 35:09under the Buddies. That's the air Bud franchise. Santa Pause, Santa pause,
- 35:14to realize that we're lightly mocking this. The team came up with air
- 35:19bar is sleepy on a bit of money, surround my many beautiful ladies.
- 35:23Oh yes, or many beautiful dogs. They haven't a real puppy party,
- 35:30so we've got here. The franchise began a ninety seven with the theatrical release
- 35:32of air Bud, followed by the release of air Bud Golden Receiver. Oh
- 35:37what a title, what a name? High five that is so all up
- 35:43the top. There are so many of these, all right, So air
- 35:47Bud, then Airbud Golden Receiver. Then we had air Bud World, Pup,
- 35:52air Bud Seventh Inning, Fetch air Bud, Spikes back air Buddies.
- 35:54This does become the air Buddy series. And there's one, two, three,
- 35:58four, five, six, eight, nine of those ten, eleven,
- 36:01twelve, there's sixteen of these, Hutching and they were all within ninety
- 36:08seven to two thousand and two. That's what a year. One a year.
- 36:13For a little while ago, I was trying to be very, very
- 36:15cynical, and I was looking at you know what always does well? Christmas
- 36:19movies always do well on Netflix or any other stream or anything like that.
- 36:22So Netflix is full of them now though, Yeah, like Christmas movie,
- 36:24what when I come up with it? I had this idea called the Flight
- 36:28before Christmas, where you've got like this top gun style pilot or no,
- 36:34he was a commercial pilot or something, but now he's working for a crappy
- 36:37airlines. Like I don't know exactly what happened, but he can't be a
- 36:40drunk or something like that. But anyway, he kills somebody. Yeah,
- 36:45he crashed a plane. Push me higher. I'm a pilot, That's what
- 36:51I did. But it's like, you know, he's separated from his wife
- 36:58and his son doesn't respect as much and never respects any son. Never respect
- 37:01It's a really it's a liar, liar and play and then it gets a
- 37:07a mysterious job off. Its like hey, it's one night's work, but
- 37:10it'll be the best naughty life. And yeah, he basically has to go
- 37:15work for Santa. It's like, well, yeah, I know you,
- 37:16I know you think that I drop off all the president myself. One man
- 37:21gotta do it himself, doesn't respect me anymore. I've got to have sand
- 37:25I've got to have the Sanda squad. Yeah you know, and you're going
- 37:29to be doing this thing. And yeah, basically he becomes out of the
- 37:32Sanda squad. Dad, you're working for Senna. That's right, Well,
- 37:38you're the greatest and yeah, it gets played every year. It gets played
- 37:43every Christmas, and guy gets a check. I think when you see the
- 37:45flight before Christmas, I was thinking like a love actually as drama of people
- 37:50who are trying to catch the last flight before so they're not late for Christmas.
- 37:52And it's all set in the airport. Let's do that. It's shenanigans
- 37:54in an airport. Let's do that too. All right, we've got to
- 37:59catch the last flight for Christmas again catching I'm surprised. Let's let's google the
- 38:07flight for Christmas probably already a thing. The flight we'd be so sad of
- 38:09it is. Oh helliet, Oh no, I just have to change the
- 38:13title. The Flight for Christmas was a movie in twenty fifteen. What a
- 38:15romance drama? Go to hell? It's fate ensures that Stephanie crestfallen after a
- 38:20breakup, shares a room at a bed and breakfast with Michael, who plans
- 38:22to wet his longtime lover, but the two end up getting spitten with each
- 38:25other. What did they have to do with Christmas in the last flight?
- 38:29Absolutely nothing. I'm not happy with that at all. Anyway, Airbud.
- 38:35We now return to stop and my dog will shoot already in progress. I
- 38:38thought that was far more entertain than anything elseaw on this episode. I kind
- 38:43of want to watch Airbud now just to see what the big who blas about.
- 38:45We should we do it? We'll do an Airbud. Well, let's
- 38:50katgu Kenny g I. Folks, if you were at all interested in hearing
- 38:58when I talk about any of the Bud franchise, let us know. We
- 39:01will listen to the people. It can't be as bad as snow dogs,
- 39:05believe me. The Cuba goodings. Yeah, domestic disturbance is what's going on
- 39:09to Cleaves and Brandy and she's annoyed that he's given a pig a day of
- 39:12beauty and it sounds how he get shot here and I was like, oh,
- 39:15I was like, I was like what what what? It felt so
- 39:17bad for him and he got shot in the arm. Did he get shot
- 39:20or was it ricochet and ricocheted off? But it's still the bullet hit him.
- 39:22That's a fleshure. The movies have done wrong biasince that, you know,
- 39:28oh, a fleshment. Oh well, oh you'll get over that.
- 39:30It would just write I remember really somewhere, Yeah, that's some cops it's
- 39:36like, yeah, I got shot and it was a PLEASURENT and bucket hurt.
- 39:40You know when you stub your toe, that fucking hurts. I did
- 39:46like the call back though, when they call for backup and the dolphin arrives
- 39:49because the dolphins at each other of me. Yeah. Then Bart tries taking
- 39:52the cat for a walk. It's not going to happen. He misses his
- 39:54dog. He has to eat his own homework. I didn't mind that.
- 39:57I thought that was a pretty eat your own homework. Then he's at the
- 40:00bar and it's called the mug shot the bar again, also not unfunny,
- 40:05except maybe the sign is a bit Yeah, if I have the payoff though,
- 40:08of easy their pat we just started a shift. But he's always sad
- 40:14and will help his PTSD from being shot and first dame and the job wasn't
- 40:16wasn't wasn't good at all. Then Wigham calls him on his walkie talking with
- 40:21an eight six to six in progress at the park and they make fun of
- 40:23us walkie talkie at the at the bar and it's the bully's trying to buy
- 40:28steroids because they want to get jacked and he wants to. He's nerds.
- 40:30He wants to shred his shrivel shrivell is nerds. Yes, yes, and
- 40:35that's all they need to hear. If they go to arrest them and nobody
- 40:37freezes, might as well yell run. I say this to Nick, and
- 40:39I'm like, why do they do they have to say FBI? Open up?
- 40:43Like do they have to say we're the police? I think you have
- 40:45to announce your presence because it's like when you just grab them, like if
- 40:51they are if they are wanted criminals, are the FBI not allowed to just
- 40:54grab them and arrest them without saying, here's the FBI. Here's a chance
- 40:58to run away before we cad you the It may will be some legal loophole
- 41:00whereby these people did not announce themselves as law enforcement. I thought that I
- 41:07was being attacked by another criminal. It just seems like a loophole that shouldn't
- 41:10exist. It should be if you're a bad guy and the cops can grab
- 41:13you, they should just grab you. You shouldn't given it, but you
- 41:15should presumed innocent until you shouldn't given a headstart. It just it just seems
- 41:22weird time you watch a cop shows like FBI Stopped, it's like they're never
- 41:24gonna stop. They're gonna run every time. Yeah, which is what they
- 41:28do here. I guess, so, well, well, what did they
- 41:30say, you're giving help to scorn? A young man sat his little help
- 41:34with her. He chases snake up the playground. I don't think this would
- 41:36necessarily hurt all that much. He's about three feet off the ground, but
- 41:37he falls into the sand. Maybe Jery covers him in sand. And the
- 41:42duck eats some steroids and grows some big legs when out in the court room,
- 41:45And this is sort of just playing up how a cop catches a bad
- 41:46guy and they get off due to a technicality, and they're just like,
- 41:51it would be infuriating, Oh, if your job is to stop the bad
- 41:53guys, and the bad guys get to a technicality and on the way out
- 41:55they sort of rub it in your face. Oh, they say, let's
- 42:00start a law and order with his becoming every law and order the police,
- 42:07the police will investigate crimes, and the district attorney officer do whatever? Do
- 42:13you always giggle when they say the word heinous. Oh, you're gonna gig
- 42:15every time, nicol always, especially Hanus Nicholas, because it's in the genus
- 42:22or something. I said exactly the same thing with Piclarly, we're the s
- 42:24VU because it's sex right, especially heinous and giggle every time I thought this
- 42:32is what it sounds like, dubs cry because I thought it was just me.
- 42:37That's I thought it was nic Do you think I made dick wolf?
- 42:42Yeah? Probably actually thought it was like. They're probably gonna think so many
- 42:45couples are gonna have a little in joke because of this. They're gonna they're
- 42:47gonna bond over this show because the word you said, the word aus heinous,
- 42:52I should say. But then Lou drops off sands Helpe's still angry and
- 42:57he's pissed off, and he bites Bart. We come back in Sands Helpers
- 43:00now tied up our back, and Hamas says he's gonna want to bite us
- 43:02all. He's got a taste for meat. Now he is slave to his
- 43:05succulents. He knows that I taste best, and Wigham says he needs to
- 43:07learn how to channel his stress and his pressure. I mean, being a
- 43:09cop, I couldn't do it, mate. I've seen friends of mine become
- 43:13cops and it changes them. They are not the same person. They were
- 43:16I hear this as well. Yeah, I had one of my friends who
- 43:20had to attend a fire where children passed, and he's just never been the
- 43:23same. He's never He's not the same person. Oh dear, Yeah,
- 43:27not good. So I can completely understand this. But Wickham says that he
- 43:30does it by channeling, by knitting violent imagery, which is I believe was
- 43:35the Bird Killing album. Yeah, like itching scratchy style March just they should
- 43:39send the dog aways is a dog, not Grandpa, and Liza suggests they
- 43:45could have him retire and just bark novelty Christmas songs, but he sings the
- 43:49wrong song, sings Dredel but then tries the frisbee game. It's not working,
- 43:52and Homer then chases it like a dog and barks at flanners like a
- 43:57dog, And yeah it because Homer is just really that stupid sat as.
- 44:02Little Helper's not gonna be living with lou And as I said, I was
- 44:05a fan of shakel Did we get the poodles now? No we didn't,
- 44:07but she would just love him. You can live with me now because because
- 44:13only cops understand cops. Hello, want a party tonight or not tonight?
- 44:16Shaq Kell I'm hanging out with my new roommate. Oh my god, a
- 44:21police dog. I have a friend who would love him. Okay, but
- 44:31just remember they don't love us. They just love the uniform. All right.
- 44:36Now, who's going with Who? Is that Trust McNeil doing that chackal
- 44:39voice. Hmm? I think it was yeah, let's find out because but
- 44:45yeah, I just love the way the button of who's going with who?
- 44:49Shakkel Simpsons, I'm gonna say, trust mc neil, I'm gonna find out.
- 44:52Oh Shall apparently starts with a C, not an S, but the
- 44:53subtitles had s. Really yeah, she is voiced by Trust McNeil. Indeed,
- 44:59yes, but yeah, so but now sounds little helpers living with Lou
- 45:02Essentially, that's the whole point of that scene. And at the pet shop
- 45:05the family since his family is looking for a new pet, and Bart says
- 45:07he wants a snake, which costs five dollars a foot. Here comes wise
- 45:10guy. Yes, he comes a wise guy, but again the joker cutting
- 45:15out the snake. It's in the next scene he has a tail. I
- 45:16was like the jokes, I'm not sure if that's how snakes work. No,
- 45:21it's a it sounds like a funny joke, but then to actually show
- 45:23them cutting out the next scene he has a tail again is whatever the books
- 45:28say that the manual for owning a python, they say, don't name it
- 45:30because they've got poor hearing. And then he lived a strangle and then it
- 45:34straggles, strangles Homer. These ones here, the whole strangling thing. They
- 45:38become uncomfortable when they change color. Oh yeah, absolutely, it's like this
- 45:42isn't it makes me comfortable to watch? It's weird. Yeah, I mean
- 45:46the usual choking that we've seen of hom rebarred. It's it's comical, comic,
- 45:52it's comical, and yeah, it doesn't really feel like choking so much.
- 45:54It's just like grabbing and shaking, which is we don't recommend either for
- 45:58children. But yeah, when it's like, oh no, they're actually cutting
- 46:01off the airs of like, oh boy, that's no good, and you
- 46:04can yuck it up by saying I'm okay. So that's one of the worst.
- 46:10And so that's the endings of any scene like that, when you know
- 46:15there's just been carnage or terrible catastrophic injury. It was support of having the
- 46:19Carnegie It's okay. Shot after it works maybe one time out of one hundred.
- 46:23Yeah, I can't think of any but it Show and Tell at school
- 46:27and Martin There's trained his rabbit to hop in tempo to missus Msoski's Yeah,
- 46:32that was just but see it was too deep a reference for the But but
- 46:37I didn't know that that song was called Pictures an Exhibition because that's a very
- 46:40popular classical tune, Pictures at the Exhibition. Yeah, I just never need
- 46:45the title of it. Yeah, I did like to here's some hip hop
- 46:46that we can all get down into, and that he's been eaten by strangles
- 46:52and but makes joke here to K, don't ask to show if you can't
- 46:55need to show, you can't handle the towel. She then tries to joke
- 46:58in return and doesn't work. I thought that this is a Skinner moment,
- 47:00not a Missus k moment. Yeah, and the whole bit with Nelson as
- 47:05well, going yeah, let's just get educating. I don't know what the
- 47:08point of that bit. None of these, none of these lines fit the
- 47:12characters who are speaking them. It was bizarre. But then the pet,
- 47:16the snake escapes, so she rings the various of the pedal arm escape pedal
- 47:21arm, but they have drunken grounds keeper was one. I think bomb threat
- 47:23was another, and that just regular fire. Okay. Sad as little helper
- 47:28then finds Bart's frisbee in the locker. He's trying to tell them that he
- 47:30wants to go butt back to Bart. This is again here we've got an
- 47:34issue with this, not not a big issue, but Wigham says he's got
- 47:36to get over it. Blah blah blah blahlah. They have a big argum
- 47:37about shamrock shakes and all this other shit right the ways about a minute talking
- 47:40about shamrock shakes anyway. Then Strangles gets into the lab and he sees the
- 47:45mouse, which he thinks is a mouse, which I thought, yeah,
- 47:46funny, and he starts eating the well, knocks the ethanol and the nutric
- 47:50acid off, which you don't make makes yep. He tries to eat the
- 47:52computer. We get Clibby again. I like that. But then as the
- 47:57gas seeps into the hall, the police scream, but basically we get the
- 48:00dog going in to find Bart, right, and Wigan goes, don't worry,
- 48:04lou, He's not using his nose. He's searching with his heart now
- 48:06and It's like, didn't you just tell him to get over bart and now
- 48:09you're the one saying, no, Lou, let him go. He loves
- 48:12it, he loves the loves the boy. You just spent so much time
- 48:15wasted of we can justifying why he shouldn't, you should get over it,
- 48:20And then the very next scene he's the one saying no, Lou, let
- 48:22him go. Find him. It doesn't didn't work. It just doesn't make
- 48:27sense to know, and not to me now that you put it that way
- 48:30from a continuity perspective. Mainly, I was just sort of hypnotized by Lou's
- 48:34popeye forearms that way. I'm pretty sure they have been. Yeah, pretty
- 48:37big, but bigger than his bike steps. That's weird. Yeah, maybe
- 48:42what does Skinner have the kids line up in? It's the some of the
- 48:45total then it was going to be weight, which you couldn't do. Yeah,
- 48:49and some total of the letters in your last name, if each letter
- 48:52is assigned a numeric value according to its place in the alphabet. And I've
- 48:55got here. I've spent way too long trying to get the words this because
- 49:00Freankiak doesn't work for season eighteen, kill me? Oh for real? No
- 49:02stop the season seventeen. Frank, Yeah, we need you. I need
- 49:09you be time a nation turns its lonely eyes to you. Because when I'm
- 49:13trying to find the clips to edit into this show, as Z, that
- 49:15would have to as well. Now it's as you got a Frankiak type of
- 49:19quotes, It's like, oh, it's on that part of the audio.
- 49:21I'm trying to find it now just by memory. Not fun, make it
- 49:24of the Simpsons. You're making the making of the Forefinger discount podcast a little
- 49:30harder than it should be. Frank Yak. If you're listening, please continue
- 49:32on from season seventeen. But they run outside and yeah, it's a deadly
- 49:36toxic cloud. Bart selling the school sounds we'll have it, goes back in
- 49:38to save him and basically he wakes up. He passes that, wakes up,
- 49:43and he's got the dog and the snake and it's to choose between them
- 49:45and you can't and you're gonna have more than one pet. You're jerk,
- 49:47exactly. Yeah, so it leaves the stake to die. But you just
- 49:52like, what did he grab the snake and get out? Anyway, Well,
- 49:55apparently the gas is gone. Now go into rescue Bart and then we
- 50:00have them just no gas anymore and they're just having a little moment with the
- 50:05three of them, So don't ask questions, but I like to ask questions.
- 50:08So he ends up going with sounds, little helper, and the snake
- 50:12says, if because you're back, don't if he leaves you again, don't
- 50:14come you back? Who are kidding? Always can be there for you.
- 50:15Blah blah blah. That made you feel sad for the snake very much.
- 50:19So yeah, but he's basically he's a dog again. He's not going to
- 50:22be a police dog anymore, and our strangles is sad but really puts him
- 50:27in the hoseholder and we get that'll do, snak, that'll do. Don't
- 50:30you dare steal Babe's closing line. No, what a line that is.
- 50:34It's a great line. Yeah, great movie, babe, But anyway that
- 50:37is, uh, stop or my dog will shoot. An episode that raises
- 50:40many questions that will never go answered, certainly not by us. I thought
- 50:45Lou was the MVP of this episode, and we're going to be honest.
- 50:47He had the lines that I enjoyed the most. And yeah, I just
- 50:51think Lo's interaction with sad As will Helper was the moment I enjoyed the most.
- 50:55I think, I must admit, yeah, I was very happy to
- 50:59have Lou a bit more front and center. So I never really spent a
- 51:01lot of time getting to know Lou, not just being the butt of jokes
- 51:05from Wigan. It seems like a good guy. Yeah, I'm sick of
- 51:07having the cops always arguing with each other. This is silliness. What do
- 51:10we learn bomb? What do you learn from the episode, mister Davis?
- 51:14If anything, I learned the name of pictures at an exhibition. I genuinely
- 51:17learned that. I learned that you should be very careful which public figure you
- 51:24have as a cameo or guest role on The Simpsons, because twenty years down
- 51:30the line, it might just come back to budget in the butt from forward,
- 51:34your names will be new names. Mister Davis. Oh, should we
- 51:37have a look at the leader board? We should have look at the leader
- 51:39board. There's only a few episodes left, so I feel like our man,
- 51:43mister Phillip J. Maybe clawing away, but we shall find out.
- 51:45But the current leaderboard stands at this in first position. We have Philip J.
- 51:50Hawgen's on twenty five points, Kyle muldoon on seventeen points, Luke McKay
- 51:52on sixteen points, so Philip J is currently eight points ahead. Let's see
- 51:58if some of our friends like ck McKay and Carl muldoon can get a little
- 52:01closer. Okay, then one point goes to poor patrol. Patrol be there
- 52:08on the dubble. That's Justin Williams with the one point. So you're lucky,
- 52:14by the way, You're lucky that Allie's not doing this because that would
- 52:16be three points in his regard. That's poor patrol, and that put him
- 52:20on ten points. Now Justin Williams, Well, I'm justin very right position.
- 52:23Two points goes to rough Hour. Well, I like that Rush Hour
- 52:29I've never seen is it worth watching? They're not too bad. There's a
- 52:31really funny blooper in the blueper Real is really really good? Wa wash on
- 52:36YouTube recently? Is it the second? I think it's from Rush Hour to
- 52:38maybe wash Out too? Yeah, where Chris Taker keeps calling him Jackie or
- 52:43Chan. No, it's Jackie Chan trying to he says a word in English
- 52:45incorrectly, say cheese, but he's saying he says freeze. Is that a
- 52:50cheese or something. It's worth watching it. It's hilarious. There's a there's
- 52:53one in in Rush Hour two where Chris Tuker the character Jackie Chan's characters name
- 53:00is Lee, but Chris keeps calling him Chan or Jackie, and John John
- 53:06cheelers in the in the scene as well, by all means, by all
- 53:09accounts quite as professional. And after about five takes of Chris Ducker just blowing
- 53:14this, she just blows. The man's name is Lee. I've founded by
- 53:19the way, it's he arrives. He's supposed to say freeze, but he
- 53:21goes geez and he doesn't get what He's like, what are you laughing for?
- 53:25Oh, I'll be a Jackie chance. So that's two points to Steve
- 53:30roberts Well on Steve puts him on eight points. Steve was probably waiting,
- 53:35but it's like, that's mine. I say my name, my name,
- 53:38saying my name, give me, give me my two points, give him
- 53:40my prop and three points goes two. Pups and Robbers, Pups and Robbers,
- 53:49And this year's winner is Philip J. Hawkins. Oh my god.
- 53:53Again we need to reiterate every week done blind is done blind? Yeah,
- 54:00all right, Well, Philip Jay is now in twenty eight points. He
- 54:01ain't going to be losing that title. It's that makes the last two weeks
- 54:05kind of redundant now, doesn't it. But you can still get in the
- 54:07wild card draw, Yes, we can the wildcat get what's the wild card
- 54:10prize? I will decide. It's surprise you'll get one. It's a surprise.
- 54:19Damn. That's just coming up with the winners this time, this time
- 54:22around twenty eight points of Philip J. Colmill doing seventeen, McKay on sixteen.
- 54:25I wonder if lut McCay and Cole won do bother putting your new names
- 54:28next week. It's all about, yeah, you want to be second at
- 54:30least, right, Oh yeah, second, second comes right right, first,
- 54:32Yeah, silvera's a pretty nice metal to have. As we say when
- 54:36kids, seconds, the best, and third is the one with the hairy
- 54:37chest. As we say, first, the worst, second, the best,
- 54:40third one the hairy chest. They also say it's a man's obligation to
- 54:43stick his generation. They do. Indeed, Yes, if you check out,
- 54:45let's go down the south FUK you'd be well aware of that. Here
- 54:52all right, it is male bad time right now. First question, from
- 54:55our man Andrew JP. What's your favorite dog themed live action movie? But
- 55:00not the silly ones with talking dogs? So let's take air Bud out of
- 55:01the equation. Does Ab actually talk? I don't know, but I'm that's
- 55:06live action, though, is it not? So AB could be? In
- 55:09an answer to this question, none of us have seen it, there,
- 55:12Bud. I loved a movie called Homeward Bound when I was a kid,
- 55:15but it was called an Incredible Journey, I believe in the States. Now
- 55:19are we obsessed with that movie? When? Is it similar to Milo and
- 55:22Otis in that it's two mismaged animal pals on a on a one trip together
- 55:27and that has a movie I and Jodal as a kid and now look back
- 55:29and go, oh they went through so many milos and so many otors.
- 55:31Yeah, not good. Throwing cats off cliffs, throwing a cat in front
- 55:36of a band of seeing what would happen? Hmmm, not fun. Putting
- 55:39a cat into a box and putting it into a stream and just letting it
- 55:42go. Oh damn. Yeah, like when that cat's me out, he's
- 55:45not acting. He thinks he's gonna die and probably did die. Not good
- 55:49at all, but Homeward Bound is a lovely Disney made film Malos not Disney
- 55:53film about three pets. We have a not what the kind of do they
- 55:58cain't look like a staffy, but they got the patch on it. I
- 56:00got the dog in Little Rascals, Yes, I know the dog. Yeah,
- 56:04a Golden Retriever and a Burmese cat. Anyway, they so, the
- 56:08eldest son has the I think Shadow was his name was, the Golden Retriever.
- 56:13He's like the old, wise dog of the family. And then the
- 56:15young the middle aged boy has the patch, you know, the wild dog,
- 56:20and the girl has the cat. They move house or something happens,
- 56:22and the animals think they've been left behind u something, and they go to
- 56:24try and find the family. They go on an incredible journey and our Homeward
- 56:29Bound. You can't accuse it of false advertising. No, no, this
- 56:34is great. I won't spoil the end, but the end is one of
- 56:37the most feel good moments of your ever experience. Well, anything that's got
- 56:40animals in it, have you ever seen it? No, fu themselves.
- 56:44It's great. It's when it comes to animal movies where the animals can talk
- 56:47but humans can't understand them. It's that vibe. It's I haven't watched it
- 56:52for a long time, but I loved it when I was a kid.
- 56:53Are you familiar with the Benji movies. I have never seen them. Oh,
- 56:57I think I did enjoy when I was younger, but like a lot
- 57:00of younger yeah, I mean, Benji was a really big deal when I
- 57:02was growing up, to the point where I think we had like a school
- 57:05excursion to see a Benji movie. Ok, you know, and Benji was
- 57:07this delight from Skippy was big. Skippy was also big, but that's Kippi.
- 57:13You understand that. Touching up, what what's your favorite live action dog
- 57:17movie? I'm probably very partial to Turner and Hooch. I thought you were
- 57:22going to go that. I thought you were either going to go with that
- 57:25or Maley and Me. I've been told don't watch it because you'll you'll hate
- 57:29the ending. You'd be too sad. Yeah. I was sort of bracing
- 57:31myself for the emotional devastation by the end of Marley and Me. No,
- 57:38it's this is sad, but not super sad. I felt a little more
- 57:44sad at the end of Turner and Hooch. Not to spoil, but you
- 57:47can watch it be. So what about Oh Ball I thought was a very
- 57:53cute dog in a very Australie movie called Oddball. I've heard Red Dog is
- 57:59great, Red Dog's pretty good. Then there's Red Dog True Blue, which
- 58:02is alright as well. Okay, yeah, but I think Turner and Hooches
- 58:07that's a big that's the most popular one. That or Canine. Well,
- 58:12I don't know which came what, but like Cano feels like it's it's running
- 58:15the coat tails of Turner, who it's roughly. At the same time,
- 58:16it's very much an again deep in back style situations, an answer to Bug's
- 58:21life, like you're making the same movie too a fuck some so much money
- 58:24and there's already paid Jim Blues Tom has no hard bo but Turner Hoo's probably
- 58:36my favorite live action dog movie. A couple more questions, David Mitty,
- 58:42did you ever know anybody with an exotic pet? An exotic pet? I
- 58:47know I did know someone with a snake when I went to primary school.
- 58:50He had a snake or his older brother had a snake, and I was
- 58:52always unsettling going to his room, like the snake to probably get out of
- 58:55there, but it really wanted to I'm a little scared be playing like video
- 58:59games looking over my shoulder the entire time. What sort of snake though,
- 59:01I mean, it wasn't a python, but it was it looked I don't
- 59:05know what type of snake. It was rember. It was brown and had
- 59:07a yellow on it, and so it was at a big snake, like
- 59:09a thick snake, because some just look muscular. I feel if it was
- 59:14like fat, I feel like, yeah, it's just getting weird. It
- 59:17was so long, but just laing there. I had to touch it.
- 59:22But when he had it out right, it was he was so happy with
- 59:28himself. You should have seen the look on his face. It would have
- 59:30been at least I want to say three ft long. It was pretty long.
- 59:34Yeah, big one. Yeah. I think I also knew someone had
- 59:36a snake, and more than I mean, I wasn't so much worried about
- 59:40the snake. I was more thinking, I think you just got the snake
- 59:43for clout, I think you got the snake. It's like when overcompassated for
- 59:46something quite possibly. I mean, yeah, an amate of psychologist, because
- 59:51I have filled it with why you've got a snake? I wasn't like so
- 59:54much, Wow, this person's really interesting. It is like this person wants
- 59:57me to think they're interesting. Yeah, Josh Hallier Hamilton, have you ever
- 1:00:01had any run ins with the law. Let's move along, shall we?
- 1:00:06I just move along? So Andrew Swamp based on the Mays plot. Curious
- 1:00:08if guy I've seen the movie in the Tall Grass and what he thought about
- 1:00:12it? I know this one that this is either a Stephen King original or
- 1:00:15based on a Stephen King's story. Sounds like Children of the Corners horror movie?
- 1:00:19Is it not? Or yeah? It is? Okay? Believe starring
- 1:00:22Patrick Wilson from the Conjuring movies and the Equaman film. I was twenty nineteen
- 1:00:28okay on the Netflix. Yeah, I've yet to see it. My apologies,
- 1:00:32I'll get it. I'll get that. It's only you have to apologize.
- 1:00:36I don't think it's done anything wrong, all right. Everything. A
- 1:00:42brother and sister enter a field of tall grass to rescue a boy, but
- 1:00:45they soon realize they cannot escape in Something evil looks in their grass. That
- 1:00:47sounds fun. Get thrown up in the air? Where are we? It's
- 1:00:52like it reminds me of cheapest creepers. That's horror franchise. I don't feel
- 1:00:55like it's enough love. I really love the cheepest creepers films what they were,
- 1:01:00I do as well. Unfortunately the dude who made them turn out to
- 1:01:02be a child blister. No shit, yeah you may have told me that.
- 1:01:06Actually, yeah, that's hard to enjoy, it doesn't it. It
- 1:01:08does a bit, because yeah, because these are really good horror movies.
- 1:01:14Yeah, it's a shame. So one more question here and we shall move
- 1:01:17on. We have got all right here comes from Ian Ashley. Rank the
- 1:01:24following dogs in order of who you'd most likely go for a pint with.
- 1:01:29Snoop Dogg, the Road Dog, Jesse James, who was a wrestler,
- 1:01:31and Dog the Bounty Hunter. Okay, then I don't really know Road Dog.
- 1:01:37He'd be my three anyway as well Snoop Dogg. I'm not gonna drink
- 1:01:39what I'm gonna smoke up, okay, And so I guess it'd be Dog
- 1:01:43the Bounty Hunter. Who do have more stories? Snoop dog or Dog the
- 1:01:45Bounty Hunter. Dog the Bandig would have some great crime ladder stories like oh
- 1:01:49you wouldn't believe this guy at court. But I feel like Snoop DOGG would
- 1:01:51have great celebrity stories, but I think Snoop Dog would also have some hood
- 1:01:54stories. Yeah, that's true. We forget that he's a gangster, correct,
- 1:01:59because he's just become This was a cartoon carriag. Yeah, a bit
- 1:02:01of an elder statesman. Yeah, see's recent marketing. He's I'm giving up
- 1:02:07smoke. I've given up spoke because I'm baping instead of some time like oh
- 1:02:09that's not cool, snooz snop, you're losing some street bed man. Because
- 1:02:15we all kind of saw it coming. We were like, I just I
- 1:02:17just pray it's not that, and then it came and we're like, oh,
- 1:02:22you thought you were clever and you weren't. But that is our review
- 1:02:27of stop Oh my Dog will Shoot the next episode from season eighteen. Oh
- 1:02:31yes, twenty four minutes. You're gonna like this. I remember loving this
- 1:02:35episode. I haven't watched it for a long time, but I'm going to
- 1:02:37put my balls on the line and say you're gonna enjoy this one. He
- 1:02:39literally put his balls on the line. It is literally just it is filmed
- 1:02:43as if it's in real time. Episode of twenty four sweet and keep a
- 1:02:45subvalent appear, isn't it. Yeah, two great reasons to tune in.
