these, I'm sure. But in case you haven't heard already, there are

two manga that just got announced that are getting anime, you know, that's

how that works. And they are Sakamoto Days, which is a very popular

shown in manga that's currently you know, being published that I've read the first

few chapters of and I thought was pretty good. I assume it ramps up

from there, I hope. And then also the summer Hikadu Died, which

is a really interesting horror manga. So I'm really excited about that. So

now you know, if you didn't, no, and I know Sakamoto Days.

I think there was a date. I think it's at one, so

I think it's January twenty twenty five, and I'm pretty sure Sammarrikadu Died was

also twenty twenty five, But like I don't really remember now because I didn't

relook it up before I, you know, started doing this, So yeah,

look out for some upcoming anime, I guess. So besides that,

there's nothing else really going on, So let's get into a Windbreaker episode eight,

which is called Succeeding the Past, which is fine. I think I

understand what it means. I'm not sure really, So we start off the

episode with the opening theme. Oh my god, I can just kick back

and watch it and I don't have to take notes, so if I'm the

opening theme, we kind of cut right back into where we left off last

episode. Remember, Soaker and Togame are fighting and soccer I was like asking

him, like, what the fuck, dude, why are you not doing

a good job anymore? That's not exactly true. This kind of back tracks

a little, so we almost have a recap. But since the animation is

new and things are a little bit different, kind of like what they were

doing at some of the beginning of the Chainsaw Man episodes way back, we'll

just kind of go over it anyway. So Sakraa is looking at Tolgame's fist

as it misses him, and this whole section is in slow motion and Sakara

thinks, what's with him? And Togame turns to punch him again, and

Sakata thinks his earlier momentum is gone, so is his drive. I feel

confusion from his fists okay, and Soakaa like easily dodges and like kicks him,

and Togame just goes down, but he starts to get back up like

right away, and Sakura is like, you're not being serious, are you?

And Togame says that that's not and Soakura cuts him off and says,

you don't want to land that punch. You don't want to dodge my kick

either, and he thinks this fight, I thought they picked it because they

knew everything, but they didn't. Then why did he just punch them?

Because he didn't know everything? Soakaa? So Soakaa tightens his fist and he

thinks, I want to know more about him? Oh, and out loud,

he says, what the hell are you trying to do? And Togame

like chuckles and he puts his hand on his forehead. This is kind of

where we left off, and he says, really, what am I trying

to do? And Sakta says, why'd you punch those guys. You can

do whatever on your team as long as you have power, right Tilgame says

that's right. This is a place for the strong, and he drops his

hand from his forehead and he looks at Sakta and says it's not a place

for scumbags, and Sakaa looks shocked, and everyone is just sitting like super

quietly watching this drama play out, because they're not fighting. They're just talking

at this point, and to Game thinks, when you lose your mind,

your limbs no longer function properly. Gradually, I ultimately spent more time skinning

all the scumbags. And I should say that every time they say scumbags,

I'm hearing kuzu, which means trash, So I should probably just start saying

trash. But whatever, and he continues, and that's why when we got

into a tussle against Spofuran, Joji's obsession, and then we kind of cut

to like earlier, probably earlier that day or the day before, and they're

like on the rooftop and Choji looks super excited and he just runs off,

leaving Togame with like this really blank stare on his face and Togam continues to

think, I thought it did trigger some kind of change, and then over

here we kind of see some of the scenes from the earlier episodes with them,

and he continues, but we roped everyone into a fight with no shred

of justice for us, and then we go to a black screen and he
4:40
says, soday demo, even so, there's no turning back. And then

we cut to that day, that terrible day when everything changed, and it's

raining and Togame is, you know, taking that first jacket from Choji after

he took it off that guy that he beat up, and we get a

Togame voiceover and he goes, because on that day, I decided to commit

to the wrong path. Yeah you did. I can't stop here. I

mean he could though, And at this point we're back to the present and

the crowd is starting to get kind of antsy, and at the back of

the stage there's either like a piece of fabric or the wall, and it

has the big Shesh touring logo, which is a giant tiger head, and

Togame looks at it and he thinks it's gotten quite faded. Huh, And

Sakara is like, what the hell are you trying to do? And Togame

says, let's see, and we see him standing on the rooftop I guess

from earlier that day again, and he's looking up at the blue sky and

we have this really artistic low angle shot of him and the breeze is like

blowing and he closes his eyes, and then we go back to the present

and he says, I want to head to the mountains, me too,

and Soccer is like, huh, you lost in yourself or something. You

said this wasn't a place for scumbags, then what are you doing here?

Don't give me that shit. You're doing what scumbags do, just like them.

I'll admit it. You're strong, but you're goddamn lame. And to

make you realize that, I'm gonna win against you, and he gets into

position. When that happens, you're gonna stop being lame and become an awesome

guy that I want to fight against. Oh he's so cool. Togame laughs

at this and he's like, that's quite selfish of you. You've got nerves

saying that to someone who clearly outclasses you, and Soaketa says selfish, Hell

yeah, and he runs and jumps and he's preparing to kick from above,

and he's like, this is what it means to push your will through in

a fight, isn't it? And he lands the kick, but Togame gets

out of the way, and then Sakara runs at him and punches him,

and Toilgam evades and he says, for me, no matter how strong my

opponent, even if the guy saved my life, I don't avert my eyes.

And he jumps at him like he's gonna punch, and he says,

nor does stort who I am? Yeah, Soakara, and Togame looks shocked

at that. I thought it was a good line too, And we go

to a recap of the past episode and Togami is like, how come it

turned out this way? And jojis saying, you know, he's a leader,

and Togama can leave if he doesn't like it. We really just saw

this. But then there's a part that looks like maybe it's extended, and

Tolgame is looking shocked at what Choji has just said, and it's raining,

and there's like a really cool part of the scene where like the rain is

pouring down Togam's forehead and it's kind of going into his eyes and it kind

of looks like he's crying, and it's like, is he crying? Is

it just rain? Is it both? I just thought it was done really

well. And Togam lowers his head and he steps back, like slightly hesitantly,

and he says fine, and the same stuff he did last time about

skinning and blah blah blah, and then Togami pops back into reality just in

times. He get kicked in the neck by Sakaa and he stumbles, but

he braces himself against the shoes's torn logo and he is kind of like a

little slumped over and he starts to laugh and he's like, suly are good

at pushing people's buttons. And he turns around and he punches Soakka up right

in the face. Sakoda stumbles backwards and he wipes the blood from his nose

and he's like, I knew it. You weren't serious at all earlier,

right, scraggles, And Togame says, I'm not scraggles, and he kicks

off his Getta sandals oh, and he says, names Togame Togame Joe.

He takes down his hair and it's like flowy for a second. I get

it, and he gets in position. Let's get to it. Sakkara,

he said his name, Sakata chuckles and smiles like wildly, and we cut

briefly to the outside and then to Togame as he's punched in the face by

Sokkaa, and then to Sakura getting punched in the face and in the stomach,

and they're fighting and they are both you know, delivering pretty serious blows,

and Sakaa lands like a flying kick or two against Togame, but Togami's

blocking them, and Togami then like grabs Sokkaa by like the shoulders and like

pulls him in and head butts him. It was really cool, and then

like kicks him in the stomach and it looks really bad, like Sakata kind

of coughs up some spit. I've been really glad so far in the show

that when you know, like they are hurt, they're not like coughing up

blood. It's just kind of like spit. I liked it. I think

it's a good touch. So anyway, after that, Sakaa gets himself free

and things kind of start to even out again from there and everybody's looking on

in amazements because remember they were just having a conversation and now they're evenly matched

again, and we see them and they are both just smiling super bright as

they're taking hits, and some she's torn guy who's watching the audience is like,

what's up with them? And another guy's like those guys, they're laughing

and they look so happy. And Togame manages to tackle Sakta and he tries

to punch him, but Sakta evades and he starts punching Togame like in the

head. Sakta manages to finally kick him off, and then their trading blows

again and Togame kicks him in the stomach and Sakura kind of slides back and

he's bent over and a little bit of blood drips from his nose. Really

nice touch, and he's just smiling like a fucking maniac. And he kicks

at Togame like twice, and Togami blocks them, but then they both manage

to land a punch against each other, and Togame then like hits Sakta in
10:48
the back and like picks him up, it tosses him, and Sakura is
10:52
already back up and running at Togame, but he tosses him again. Sakoa

is already back up and he is getting some hits in and he's still smiling,

and so who's watching is like, Sakka to Kuhn, you really are

an amazing guy. And Nire we see, just has tears streaming down his

face and he's like, I don't really get it, but it's really touching

my heart. Same and Kidagi says, who would have thought he'd go this

far? And Umimia is like, yeah, agreed, and of course Sukishta

kind of just looks away in disgusted. Choji is just watching silently as they

continue to fight, and at this point it's kind of looking like Togame has

a bit of an edge again, and Sakaa punches, but Togame bats him

away, and Sakaa thinks, shit, what the hell? And he's smiling

still, and he's like, I'm supposedly fighting a guy who does really lame

shit, so why does it feel so goddamn comfortable? Ah? They're best

friends now, besides, And at this point, Togami's charging him if he

says that to me as an opponent's and Sakaa thinks back to it, Togame

said his name and starts to ready his fist for a punch. He continues,

I've never been called by my name, huh, like maybe in a

fight or something, or by an opponent. I don't really know what that

meant, but anyway, his punch misses Togame, but Togami gets him in

the stomach and he stumbles backwards, and he's trying to keep himself up at

this point, and Togame thinks, geez, he's having an irritating amount of

fun here, and he charges, but Sakta manages to kind of like flip
12:31
over him, and Togame thinks his movements are getting better and better too,

and out loud, he says, now bring it, and Soaketa smiles and
12:39
they both run at each other and then they simultaneously kick each other in the
12:43
face out and they're both down. Neither gasps, and they are both on
12:52
the ground trying to catch their breath. Sakata sits up first, and he's
12:56
wincing in pain but chuckling, and Telgame starts to get up, but then

he just kind of laughs and lays back down on his back and he sighs

and says, man, I didn't know fights felt this good, and Soakaa,

who is getting to his feet at this point, says yeah, I

had no idea. So now Toalgame stands and says, you've kept me company

long enough. Let's end this, and Soakana says yeah. So now they

are both charging each other in slow motion and they both think it was really
13:31
fun, and they both pull their fists back, getting ready to punch,

and toil Game thinks, oh, that's right, and he thinks back to

earlier in the fight when Saketa said, no matter how strong my opponents,

even if the guy saved my life, I won't avert my eyes nor distort

who I am, and something like clicks in Telgame's brain and he thinks,

on that day, he's thinking about the fight with Joji and everything, this

is what I should have done, like beat up Joji. But I averted

my eyes, I didn't face him, and we are still in slow motion.

By the way, I didn't push through with who I was. I'm

sure you'll become even stronger than you are now. You're not afraid of pushing

through no matter what, And Sokata's fist is about to make impact until Gome

smiles and thinks, please don't ever change. And at that point, Tilgame

relaxes his fist and let's Sokkota punch him any thinks, thank you, Sokta,

I finally understand now it was a great conversation, yay, And till

Gome is down to Game, who is lying on the floor, says,

I can't get up anymore, and he smiles and says, I give up.

And then we go to the eye catch yeah, back from the commercial.

We are outside of Oori and we see that there are clouds rolling in

and the ODI sign is lit up because it's getting darker, and thunder kind

of rumbles, and then we are back inside and the audience is trying to

figure out, like, what the fuck happened? Why the fuck Tokame gave

up? But Sakura is standing there just in total confusion, and Nire has

still tears in his eyes and he's like sukaa and Soakana says, give me

a break. What was that at the end? Why are you giving up?

Why did you decide to lose on purpose? And Choji like runs onto

the stage and he's like, okay, good work, good work, and

he goes over to Soccer and says, you're so strong, you should go

against me sometime now, O my chan, come on, come on,

and Sokna puts his hand on Choji's shoulder and says, hey, I'm still

not in. Choji cuts him off and he's like, it's finally time,

hurry, hurry, and Pogame cuts in and is like, Choji, we

should call it all off and he stands see he could stand. There's no

justice for us here. He starts to walk over. We were I was

wrong, Choji and he reaches out to touch Choji, and Choji roundhouse kicks

him in the head and Soakta looks on in horror. Togame is now sprawled

out on the ground and Choji says, shut up already, you lost,

so stay quiet. Sakta grabs Choji buy the shirt and he's like ready to

punch him, and Choji just smiles as Soakta punches, but then Umemia catches

his arm and Soakada is seething and still holding Choji as Umemia's arm is like
16:42
locked around his and Umimia says Soka it's time to swap. Sakata is struggling
16:49
to free his arm and punch Choji, but he can't, and Umimia says,

I'm glad it looks like you had a proper conversation. Soakata looks back

at him. Umimia says, your action right now is the best proof of

that. Soccer is just kind of staring at him, and Umimiya continues,

you too, Togame, can you leave the rest up to me? Please?

Togame sighs and is like, you're quite the busy body, and he

stands and walks off the stage past them and says, don't die. Okay.

I don't know if he was saying that to Choji or to ou Miimia,

but whatever. Soakaa finally lets go of Choji and he starts to walk

away and says, if you lose, I'll beat you up, and u

Mimi is like okay. Sakata thinks, why does it piss me off so

much? I should be used to someone else getting beat up, so why

And he thinks about the proper conversations line and thinks, I don't get it

at all. I didn't hear any words from my fists. Soka, what

I thought you understood? I guess he does it? He jumps off the

stage and he kind of falters and loses his balance and Nire like catches him

and he's like Soka son and Sacara looks up at the fur and boys and

Neira says, welcome back, and so I was like Nera's crying again and

Neire says that was so amazing. It touched my heart and he Agi chimes

in, Soakra, I'm sure you don't like it, but that last bit

was Tilgami's way of setting things right. Even without that, you did really

well. Oh uh. Sakaa looks surprised and he turns away in a blush.

So that's one blush this episode. Back to the stage, Choji says,

now, oh, my chan, we can finally fight, and o

Mamia turns to face Joji because he'd been like just facing the audience, and

he's like, I gotta ask you one thing. Did you feel anything watching

that fight? Just now? Joji's like, huh feel what? U Mamia

puts his hand on his face and he's like, I see and he slicks

back his hair. What is shame? It's starting to at this point just

pour outside, and Choji says, a shame and we get this really harsh

lighting on Choji, where like he's partially in shadow, with one of his

eyes shining like evilly as the thunderclaps in the distance, and he says why

and we see that his eyes are just black fucking holes, and he continues,

Oh well, anyway, oh my chan, it's really unfair, so

unfair. Bofuan has so many strong kids. It's nothing like us because everyone's

so weak. I can't become free. It's no fun. And the guys

in the audience are like, what the fuck is that really what he thinks

flips over onto Umemia's back. Remember, Joji's really small, and he sits

on his shoulders and he's like punching him, and Umemia manages to like stop

his fist. But then somehow Choji like twists and he twists himself around and

he like flips and he like goes through Umemia's legs. This is all animated,

but in a way that I don't understand. And Choji runs at him

again and jumps and tries to punch him, but Ume blocks him with his

fist, and then Choji tries to hit him with his other free hand,

but Ume knocks it away. I don't know if you noticed, but I'm

starting to call Umemia Ume because it's easier. Choji does a couple of spin

kicks that kind of look like he's freak dancing. He's got like a break

dancing style. Oh, it's pretty cool. And Umamia also kicks, but

it like he doesn't land, and Suo, who is of course watching,

says, I've never seen such reckless moves. He's a natural born monster and

he drag He says, of course, he became the youngest leader and she

should tour in history, and Sakra is kind of slumped over, thinking,

damn it, damn it, if he hadn't stopped me back then, and

he puts his head in his hand and grimaces and against him too, and

a lot more. I guess we're implying that's Sakara knows he would have

been easily beat by Joji. So back to Umi and Choji and they're still

going at it, and Joji manages to kick Ume in the stomach with both

feet, and Umemia tries to punch Choji, but Joji like grabs onto his

arm and like twists around and like kicks him in the head but like barely

graizes him. And Choji kicks again, but Umamia blocks a couple of times,

and there's kind of a pause in the action, and Umimia says,

hey, tomyama, and Joji says what's up, and Umia is like,

it's gonna stay rough as long as you would have should kuta, and Choji

narrows his eyes and thinks about in the earlier episode when Umeimia asked him if

he had it rough, and Choji says, like, I said all this

talk Umei chan and he leaps and he's like, you don't make any sense,

and we get this really sketchy black and white Ummia as he punches very

seriously at Choji and kind of barely misses him, and he says, I

see you still don't get it. Oh no, he didn't miss he hit

him. Choji's nose like spurts with blood for a second and he's really surprised,

and Umimia says, against someone who can't understand something so simple, I

am one hundred percent sure cracks his neck. I won't lose. And then

we go the title card, seeding the past, and then to the ending.

Yay. So closing thoughts. When I first watched this episode, I

was a little bit annoyed because there's so much padding again because obviously they're trying

to make this into thirteen episodes. I finally found out how many episodes they're

supposed to be, So there's only five episodes left. It's four episodes.

How do you count? I think it's five. I think I can count

ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen yep five. So they're trying to get

this to fit. Actually, I'm thinking they could probably have done this in

twelve episodes, and they wouldn't have had to use so much padding, but

whatever. So I was like, eh, that was kind of fun,

but there was a lot of padding. When I watched it again to take
23:44
notes on it, I was like engrossed and super excited about it. There

is something so fucking weird and cool about how much fun Sakara and Togami were

having fighting each other. I don't know if I've ever seen that before in

anime. This show, like truly feels like a love letter to the delinquent

genre, and I really love it for that. It's just something I haven't

quite seen put this way before. I'm not saying I know all delinquent anime

or anything like that. There may be examples of people having these fights where

they're just beating the shit out of each other and smiling and laughing, but

it's not something I can remember, at least not right now. So I

liked it and I like that it was a callback to what Umaimia I think

was talking about several episodes ago when they were when he was saying, like
24:38
they got into a big brawl with that she's torn one time, and then

they felt really good at the end, so it kind of is the same
24:45
thing. There's just something about I guess fighting with them and going all out

with them that is just fun. And I guess that's good because when you're

I assume I am not a person who likes to fight with people. I

am a very staunch pacifist of some sort. Maybe I assume if you're doing

this all the time, I mean, like like people who are like boxers

or you know, wrestlers or something, you must have fun while you're doing

it, right, You wouldn't just do something like that if it wasn't fun

at all. I hope, I hope. I hope they don't feel like

going to work and being like a customer service agent or something or retail sales

associate. Anyway, That's what I hope. So I like seeing it conveyed

that like this can be as fun for me to watch as it is for

them to have happened. But it's also the only fight we've seen that in

the other fights looked you know, more or less painful or brutal, or

with Suo, who is just toying with Kanuma I think is his name.

So yeah, I really liked how tagame at the end and was like,

Okay, yeah, I don't want to win this, and he just lets

Sakata hit him. It shows that he is probably a good guy in there

somewhere, and that he figured out that he's really really been the bad guy

all this time. So I like that a lot. And this was a

perfect example of a fight being a conversation. If there ever was one,

this is it. They both learned a lot about each other, and I

love that Soakata was so defensive of Togame when Choji kicked him. Like,

I just think Sokkata is a really fun, interesting character, and I'm liking
26:45
seeing him grow and understand more about really himself because he seems like he's a
26:52
pretty empathetic, nice individual, but he doesn't seem to actually believe that,

so it's it's interesting. I like it. I think I said that a

bunch of times now, but that's pretty much it for this episode. I

am really really looking forward to ume Amia beating the shit out of Choji or

Choji beating the shit out of Oomemia. I'm not looking forward to that as

much though, because I like Ummia and Choji pisses me off, so you

know, whatever, happens happens. I assume Umamia is gonna win, but

you know, it would be interesting if he didn't, so who knows,

I know. But still, anyway, that's pretty much it for this episode.

Like I said, five episodes left, and then as life has kind

of shifted a little bit for me again, I guess we are just going

to continue running seasonally. I think at least this is kind of a soft

announcement, so don't take it to heart. But best guess is that we

will continue Windbreaker until the end, obviously, and then I will take probably

maybe two or three weeks off to collect myself, and then I will be

back with a different anime that I'm excited about that I don't really want to

talk about yet, so now you know, and it's not going to be

friendly, it's going to be upsetting. So yeah, now I've said a

bunch of things and I'm gonna go do whatever the hell I do. And
