- 0:38Speaker 1: you very much. We'll talk about Jim Harball in a
- 0:40Speaker 1: second and the ridiculous Jim Harball thing that I just
- 0:42Speaker 1: think is so so freaking funny. And if he gets
- 0:45Speaker 1: hired at a job before this airs in ten hours
- 0:49Speaker 1: or whenever we put this up, then we'll just cut
- 0:52Speaker 1: it as easy as that. Yeah, coming up. TCU head
- 0:56Speaker 1: coach Jamie Dixon basketball head coach and senior forward Chuck
- 0:59Speaker 1: O'Bannon junior. We talked to them, loved them both. TC's
- 1:03Speaker 1: been playing ball.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Man, Yeah man.
- 1:04Speaker 1: TCU and Kansas State two teams we got in basketball,
- 1:07Speaker 1: They've both have been really.
- 1:08Speaker 3: Good, like the opposite of football.
- 1:09Speaker 1: For yeah, yeah, we go football, we go and they yeah,
- 1:12Speaker 1: exact best thing that's over.
- 1:14Speaker 4: We go and they win.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Yeah, so glad you guys are here. So let's start
- 1:18Speaker 1: with the Jim Harball thing, because to me, I think
- 1:21Speaker 1: every team would probably like to have Jim Harball unless
- 1:24Speaker 1: there's an owner that doesn't want to deal with someone
- 1:29Speaker 1: who has probably a bigger leadership ego than them. Like
- 1:32Speaker 1: I feel like the owner in Carolina doesn't want to
- 1:36Speaker 1: hire Jim Harball because he likes to do dumb things
- 1:38Speaker 1: his dumb way, which resulted in Carolina sucking for a
- 1:42Speaker 1: long time. I feel like the old Redskins owner when
- 1:46Speaker 1: they were the Redskins, Dan Snyder. Now that the Commanders,
- 1:48Speaker 1: I guess he was owner than for a minute, I
- 1:49Speaker 1: feel like he probably wouldn't have liked the Jim Harball
- 1:52Speaker 1: because Harball is gonna go in and say this is
- 1:54Speaker 1: who I am, is what I'm doing. I'm a bit prickly,
- 1:56Speaker 1: but I win, and you kind of got as an owner,
- 1:59Speaker 1: go okay, let him have the reins. Like Jerry Jones,
- 2:03Speaker 1: I would say no, But now that Jerry's plus eighty
- 2:05Speaker 1: and probably just wants one more sniff. I think Jerry
- 2:08Speaker 1: would take whomever is Matt. I think Jerry's ready to
- 2:11Speaker 1: go just win freaking games before I die.
- 2:13Speaker 2: I agree for you, Like all the years that's been
- 2:15Speaker 2: the problem, right, Like he can't take he can't give
- 2:17Speaker 2: someone else to control of the team. But you're right,
- 2:19Speaker 2: he's getting older, and I think now's the time where
- 2:20Speaker 2: he's gonna be like, you know what, I need to
- 2:21Speaker 2: trust someone else because you look at Jimmy Johnson, Barry Switzer.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Those dudes are headstrong guys that took control of bel
- 2:28Speaker 2: Jeames Belichick. Yeah, I think you're right. I think this
- 2:31Speaker 2: is the year that he says, you know what, I
- 2:33Speaker 2: can let someone do this.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Yeah, it could be whomever, right, But the Harball thing
- 2:36Speaker 1: is funny to me. So Harbaugh and Michigan still talking
- 2:41Speaker 1: about possibly a new contract, and Harball has requested, according
- 2:44Speaker 1: to Y'ahu Sports, that Michigan give him quote immunity from
- 2:48Speaker 1: being fired for cause as a reltive as a result
- 2:50Speaker 1: of any current NCAA investigation into the Michigan football program,
- 2:56Speaker 1: which this says, you can't fire me for anything that
- 2:59Speaker 1: is already happening. That doesn't sound like an innocent man
- 3:02Speaker 1: to me.
- 3:02Speaker 5: M m.
- 3:04Speaker 3: You think he's just like trolling him too.
- 3:06Speaker 1: No, I think he'll only come back if he knows
- 3:08Speaker 1: he's protected, if he's a made man.
- 3:11Speaker 3: That's gotta be the first time it's a rapping and
- 3:13Speaker 3: put in a contract.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Immunity from being fired for cause as a result of
- 3:18Speaker 1: any current, not saying any instble a investigation in the future,
- 3:22Speaker 1: I'm always protected. I got a force filled around him.
- 3:25Speaker 1: He's not saying that I'm saying this one. He's saying
- 3:27Speaker 1: any current. It's almost like, you know what I'm talking about. Hey, guys,
- 3:33Speaker 1: if this comes out anymore, we get in trouble. I
- 3:35Speaker 1: don't want to be punished.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Wow.
- 3:38Speaker 1: So that would actually set a terrible and awesome president
- 3:41Speaker 1: with coaches in contracts. Yeah, that's why I don't think
- 3:46Speaker 1: he stays at Michigan. I think had the scandal not
- 3:49Speaker 1: happened this year, he probably would have come back, or
- 3:52Speaker 1: at least have been a little more open to it.
- 3:54Speaker 1: I just don't think it's the last we've heard of it.
- 3:57Speaker 1: And I think that's the funniest thing I've ever read.
- 3:59Speaker 1: One to be put into a contract that.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Is such a Jim Harbaugh thing to put into a contract.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Too, Like I'm king Dane Ling, this is what I want?
- 4:05Speaker 1: Yeah or nothing?
- 4:05Speaker 3: And like you were saying, even if he goes to
- 4:07Speaker 3: the NFL, like there's there's no ways going to go
- 4:09Speaker 3: to a team that has an owner who won't let
- 4:11Speaker 3: him do what he wants to do, right.
- 4:13Speaker 1: They're gonna have to And maybe it's not even be
- 4:15Speaker 1: the GM, but maybe it's just still let Jim Harball
- 4:20Speaker 1: be in those decision making rooms and it's not everyday GM,
- 4:24Speaker 1: but it's still the big GM decisions.
- 4:26Speaker 3: That's what happened with the Niners too. Wasn't he had
- 4:28Speaker 3: butt heads with was it before Lynch?
- 4:31Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 4:31Speaker 3: The owner before? It was before Lynch? Right, the owner,
- 4:35Speaker 3: everybody he wins. I know, if you were to rank.
- 4:38Speaker 1: The teams worst to best still remaining in the playoffs,
- 4:47Speaker 1: there are eight teams remaining, and I feel like there
- 4:51Speaker 1: it's probably four and four, maybe five and three, like
- 4:54Speaker 1: the classes of the two teams. Who is the worst
- 4:56Speaker 1: team remaining in the playoffs in your mind? Is it Tampa,
- 5:00Speaker 1: Green Bay or Houston? You can even put Detroit in there.
- 5:04Speaker 1: But I don't feel like any of us are gonna
- 5:05Speaker 1: put a troyit at the end. No, okay, So who
- 5:08Speaker 1: do you think is at number eight here? Houston, Green
- 5:10Speaker 1: Bay or Tampa?
- 5:12Speaker 3: Tampa?
- 5:12Speaker 2: Tampa number eight.
- 5:16Speaker 1: I'm gonna put Houston because I think they have the
- 5:19Speaker 1: hardest job to next week to beat Baltimore and also
- 5:25Speaker 1: next year, same situation. I won't say Houston. He still
- 5:28Speaker 1: hasn't gotten rookie honest yet, which has been awesome. Yeah, yeah,
- 5:32Speaker 1: maybe he doesn't. Maybe he's coming. You just think it's coming,
- 5:36Speaker 1: and it's not even about him. It's just a lot
- 5:38Speaker 1: of average.
- 5:38Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Did Mahomes ever go rookie?
- 5:41Speaker 1: Mahomes went like second year bad for a while, thirty
- 5:43Speaker 1: year bad?
- 5:44Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I forgot those years.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Well, I mean when he was a rookie, he didn't play.
- 5:48Speaker 1: True right right right, So that's why I say second
- 5:50Speaker 1: year thirty year.
- 5:51Speaker 3: Yeah, lost the AFC Championship to the Patriots.
- 5:53Speaker 1: So you guys are going Tampa last. You remember that. Yeah,
- 5:57Speaker 1: I'm going Houston last, All right? Who put?
- 5:59Speaker 2: But those two are close, those two are close. Yeah,
- 6:03Speaker 2: I would just put Tampa.
- 6:04Speaker 1: There, Okay, So I'll do seven eight. I think we're
- 6:06Speaker 1: just switching our seven eight, yes, yeah, yeah, okay, then
- 6:08Speaker 1: who do you put at six? Do you put the
- 6:09Speaker 1: Packers or Detroit Packers? Packers? Do you like golf more
- 6:15Speaker 1: than you like Jordan Love?
- 6:17Speaker 3: No, But I like Dan Campbell and what Detroit does
- 6:21Speaker 3: more than what they do in Green Bay.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:25Speaker 2: To me, it's more than hard knocks, bite knees kas.
- 6:29Speaker 2: To me, it's more than the quarterbacks. I think it's
- 6:31Speaker 2: just you look at the team in general and d Yeah,
- 6:34Speaker 2: Dan Campbell's got that team right where he wants them.
- 6:36Speaker 1: They're fired up. I'm going with the Packers over Detroit
- 6:42Speaker 1: based on based on the second half of the season's
- 6:47Speaker 1: kind of on a roll. Jordan loves playing out of
- 6:49Speaker 1: his mind. The quarterback touches the ball more than anybody else.
- 6:52Speaker 1: I think Jared Goff's been playing really, really good too.
- 6:55Speaker 1: But I just the Packers have I feel like, more
- 6:57Speaker 1: momentum right now as well. Hey that's the thing. But
- 7:01Speaker 1: we're still pretty close on those right yeah, yeah, not
- 7:04Speaker 1: far off. Okay, So now we're now we're to the
- 7:07Speaker 1: top four, let's do one. Who do you have at
- 7:10Speaker 1: number one?
- 7:11Speaker 2: Eddie forty nine ers. I just look at the forty
- 7:14Speaker 2: nine ers and like, there's no way that these guys
- 7:16Speaker 2: can mess it up. They have such a good path.
- 7:21Speaker 3: I really want to pick somebody else, but I can't.
- 7:23Speaker 3: I'm trying to. I'm trying to say, maybe the bills
- 7:26Speaker 3: they got the like you were just saying, the momo
- 7:28Speaker 3: all the mo going in, but I just can't. I
- 7:32Speaker 3: can't do it.
- 7:32Speaker 1: I'm gonna take to be the man. You gotta beat
- 7:34Speaker 1: the man. I'm taking Kansas City at number one still. Oh,
- 7:37Speaker 1: and you're on that one because they've done it. They've
- 7:40Speaker 1: done it basically the same team. Like what's different really?
- 7:46Speaker 2: Taylor Taylor Swift fractions and it's.
- 7:52Speaker 1: In Tyreek Hill, but they want it without Tyreek. Yeah,
- 7:56Speaker 1: but they've just got something to I don't know, if
- 7:57Speaker 1: you're Tyreek, would you rather move to Miami and play
- 7:59Speaker 1: for a a contender but no champion or stay in
- 8:02Speaker 1: Kansas City or the city isn't it's cool to live
- 8:04Speaker 1: in and it'll be cold. I mean, but you can
- 8:07Speaker 1: win a championship.
- 8:07Speaker 3: I've always been like, how do you guys leave a
- 8:09Speaker 3: championship team?
- 8:10Speaker 1: But he won one to be fair, didn't he? Yeah,
- 8:12Speaker 1: which is fair?
- 8:13Speaker 3: And he got one hundred million dollars. So yeah, I've
- 8:15Speaker 3: never gotten that offer before. It's hard to speak on it,
- 8:19Speaker 3: but I've always had the mindset of I don't understand
- 8:21Speaker 3: how you guys ever like left New England for twenty
- 8:23Speaker 3: years and go play in whatever Miami it might be.
- 8:28Speaker 1: It's different if I've wanted to. I think, if I
- 8:30Speaker 1: want a championship, it's different if I leave. But if
- 8:34Speaker 1: I want a championship and we have the same exact crew,
- 8:36Speaker 1: maybe I don't leave right then. Yeah, unless it's just
- 8:39Speaker 1: the money is just so life changing for me, my
- 8:42Speaker 1: kids are grandkids, because that's a massive difference in what
- 8:45Speaker 1: Tyrek was gonna get paid. But I'm saying money out
- 8:48Speaker 1: of it. Would you really go live in Miami and
- 8:50Speaker 1: not win a championship or live in Kansas City win
- 8:51Speaker 1: a championship, live in KC.
- 8:54Speaker 2: KC win, there's no money involved KC, and let's win.
- 8:57Speaker 4: Okay.
- 8:57Speaker 1: So I have KC at one. You got to the
- 8:59Speaker 1: Niners at one? Who do you have a two? Then
- 9:01Speaker 1: Eddie two?
- 9:02Speaker 2: I have the Ravens. Okay, it's not like a shock.
- 9:05Speaker 1: So you have Niners, Ravens, who's the three? And my
- 9:10Speaker 1: third after that would be Buffalo and then can't Sady
- 9:12Speaker 1: at four?
- 9:13Speaker 2: Yep? I don't believe in Kansas City this year. I
- 9:15Speaker 2: just don't. I think this is the year that we
- 9:17Speaker 2: change the guards and they're not gonna do it.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Okay, you deserve to think that because they have not
- 9:21Speaker 1: played well. Obviously, the receiver dropped every ball.
- 9:23Speaker 2: But then the Cowboys played well all year and then
- 9:25Speaker 2: just screwed it up first round of the playoffs. So
- 9:27Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know anything anymore. I'm all sad.
- 9:30Speaker 2: I'm leaving the podcast.
- 9:31Speaker 1: But Kevin, you got niners.
- 9:35Speaker 3: He's going to Yeah, and I'm gonna go number two.
- 9:40Speaker 3: I'm gonna go with the bills. I'm still gonna run.
- 9:43Speaker 1: You guys are jumping on the freaking bill. They're hot.
- 9:46Speaker 1: They're hot, Yeah, because they were. I don't think they'll
- 9:48Speaker 1: beat my homes even at home. Well, that's the only
- 9:52Speaker 1: option we have. That's it. That's the that's the option.
- 9:55Speaker 2: But they were told you can't lose another game.
- 9:58Speaker 1: They didn't, but they lost a bunch of games. I
- 10:00Speaker 1: know they were idiots.
- 10:01Speaker 2: And their taxes.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Yeah, that taxes name man doesn't work out, I hear you.
- 10:05Speaker 1: But Buffalo super hot Josh Allen man all over the place.
- 10:09Speaker 1: But man when he runs. They can't stop him, and
- 10:11Speaker 1: he has run last three or four games, he's done.
- 10:13Speaker 1: He's done a lot with his legs. Question.
- 10:15Speaker 3: Yeah, when he had that touchdown run the other day,
- 10:18Speaker 3: he was acting like he was gonna go slide.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that was terrible. I hate that. Well, but
- 10:23Speaker 1: you can do that, I know, but come on, man,
- 10:26Speaker 1: So this is what sucked. Though, he acts like he's
- 10:28Speaker 1: gonna slide. He scored touchdown. The next time he goes
- 10:31Speaker 1: and he slides, and the players like, oh, I can't
- 10:33Speaker 1: risk it. They scored a touchdown, the player hits him.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Wasn't that hard of a hit? They do a flag
- 10:38Speaker 1: fifteen yards? Yeah, you can't do I think it's against
- 10:41Speaker 1: the rules.
- 10:41Speaker 6: Now.
- 10:41Speaker 1: I think Kenny Pickett's the one who did it first.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Oh yeah, somebody else did it first, but I think
- 10:45Speaker 1: it was in college. So maybe the college rule is.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Oh, I don't know.
- 10:49Speaker 1: I think you're right, but yeah, that sucks. You can't
- 10:51Speaker 1: do that.
- 10:51Speaker 3: That's messed up, man. They got to change that.
- 10:53Speaker 1: If you're gonna fake slide, then if you're gonna slide,
- 10:54Speaker 1: you're gonna get hit.
- 10:55Speaker 2: Yeah, isn't that though, Like you know, here's the law.
- 10:58Speaker 2: This is how you can bend it. This is how
- 10:59Speaker 2: you can get away with.
- 11:01Speaker 1: I don't know if the role was changed or not, though,
- 11:02Speaker 1: but that role has to change. It's not fair.
- 11:05Speaker 2: It's totally not fair for a defender is.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Gonna get somebody hurt? Yes, okay, so you were sinking.
- 11:10Speaker 3: You have the bills and then number three the Ravens
- 11:13Speaker 3: and four chiefs and four chiefs.
- 11:15Speaker 1: All right, I want to go Kansas City, Baltimore, San Francisco, Buffalo.
- 11:21Speaker 2: Kansas City, Baltimore, Buffalo, and you have the future on
- 11:25Speaker 2: Baltimore in Kansas City.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Ink't city? But had I had a good Cowboys one?
- 11:30Speaker 1: I know, I know, sorry, but and then also better
- 11:33Speaker 1: watch in that one game.
- 11:34Speaker 2: I know, dude sucked.
- 11:36Speaker 1: Okay, I know. Let's go and do the tittle tattle
- 11:43Speaker 1: his name, the tittle Tattle.
- 11:46Speaker 3: With seven head coaching jobs still open, where do you
- 11:53Speaker 3: rank the openings from worst to best?
- 11:56Speaker 1: Worst would probably be Carolina. I think that's the worst.
- 12:01Speaker 1: They dispose of great coaches quickly. The owner a bitter attic.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Also not a major market, like all the things are
- 12:09Speaker 1: working against it. You could be a small market but
- 12:11Speaker 1: have a really good system, a good coach like at
- 12:15Speaker 1: Green Bay the smallest, but yeah, but Carolina is the worst.
- 12:18Speaker 1: So I'm gonna put that there. The other jobs are
- 12:21Speaker 1: open to the Raiders, Chargers, Falcons, Commanders, Titans, and Seahawks,
- 12:24Speaker 1: I think next because the ownership that's a big deal.
- 12:27Speaker 1: And the Raiders they just you know, the Davis family
- 12:35Speaker 1: seems to be kind of an eclectic group that at
- 12:39Speaker 1: time getting the mix and mess things up.
- 12:43Speaker 2: But you are moving to Vegas, and I've heard people
- 12:45Speaker 2: that live in Vegas. I love living in Vegas.
- 12:48Speaker 3: Would you love to live in Vegas?
- 12:49Speaker 1: I don't know that I'd even want to play in
- 12:51Speaker 1: Vegas because I think more than the normal would be
- 12:54Speaker 1: away fans going to Vegas for a trip. It's like
- 12:57Speaker 1: La or people just in Vegas going to the game
- 13:00Speaker 1: because they're in Vegas and they're playing. Okay, But so
- 13:05Speaker 1: Mark Davis is the Sun, right Yeah, and his haircuts weird. Okay,
- 13:09Speaker 1: So I'm gonna say that it is haircuts.
- 13:11Speaker 3: Weird that is staring at that.
- 13:12Speaker 1: I'm going to put that at six, So Panthers at seven,
- 13:16Speaker 1: Raiders at six, then I'm gonna probably go over to
- 13:22Speaker 1: maybe the Falcons at five.
- 13:24Speaker 4: I know.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Belichick interviewed, Where's he at now in the.
- 13:27Speaker 3: Interview second interview, he had a second one quote unquote,
- 13:30Speaker 3: according to Schefter on Twitter, heating up, he had one
- 13:34Speaker 3: on one or what they're.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Doing a one on one way him and.
- 13:40Speaker 3: The bring blank in the back of a home deepo art.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. I think there's a different tier though, seven
- 13:47Speaker 1: six to the five. So I think seven and six
- 13:51Speaker 1: kind of the Oh man, do I have to? I'd
- 13:53Speaker 1: still do it, but do I have to? At five?
- 13:55Speaker 1: I'm putting the Falcons.
- 13:57Speaker 2: At l Baby, that'd be cool.
- 13:59Speaker 7: I have four.
- 14:00Speaker 1: I'm gonna put the Titans. Wow, I know there's one.
- 14:09Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, well let.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Me get there. The Titans just because again it's a
- 14:16Speaker 1: smaller market team. They just fired a good coach, like
- 14:20Speaker 1: what what's the identity? And they have a new GM.
- 14:22Speaker 1: That's kind of why Rabel's gone. But I still think
- 14:25Speaker 1: this is a tier up from the other two. I'm
- 14:27Speaker 1: gonna put the Chargers at three. I grew up a
- 14:32Speaker 1: Cubs fan, diehard Cubs fan. They're the levable losers in football.
- 14:35Speaker 1: They lose when they shouldn't. They have a good quarterback.
- 14:38Speaker 1: I think the owners are going to give whomever they
- 14:40Speaker 1: hire more autonomy this time. I think I think they
- 14:43Speaker 1: learned their lesson there. It's San Diego. That's awesome, beautiful.
- 14:46Speaker 1: It's not Sango. It's La. But it's like, I still
- 14:48Speaker 1: feel like it's keep forgetting.
- 14:51Speaker 3: Everyone still doesn't.
- 14:52Speaker 1: I know everyone, it's La. It's just the weather's good.
- 14:56Speaker 2: It's expensive though, man cost of living.
- 14:59Speaker 1: But I'm gonna go three Chargers. Now here's the thing.
- 15:01Speaker 1: I'm gonna go two Commanders. If this would have been
- 15:05Speaker 1: the last ownership, I would have said not for me.
- 15:08Speaker 1: But new owners they have a ton of money to spend,
- 15:13Speaker 1: like they have so much cap room next year. So
- 15:17Speaker 1: I feel like the new coach is gonna go in.
- 15:20Speaker 1: There's gonna be new ownership. We're not talking about Dan
- 15:23Speaker 1: Snyder in his twenty years of ruining that program. Program.
- 15:29Speaker 1: I think it's college organization.
- 15:31Speaker 2: Sounds cool, though.
- 15:31Speaker 1: I'm gonna do two because I think it's a good
- 15:33Speaker 1: place to go. Because the new owners Magic Johnson, Yeah,
- 15:36Speaker 1: that's cool. The owner of the seventy six ers, like
- 15:39Speaker 1: they're gonna give you some money. They want to see
- 15:40Speaker 1: you win.
- 15:41Speaker 4: I like that.
- 15:41Speaker 1: And I'm putting the Seahawks at one. I just I
- 15:45Speaker 1: don't know. I just feel like they that they show
- 15:47Speaker 1: up up there.
- 15:49Speaker 3: Yeah, good fan base.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Yeah, the twelfth Man. Yeah, I feel like they. I mean,
- 15:54Speaker 1: there was a coach there for a long time.
- 15:56Speaker 3: He Carrol was there forever, I'll have a good GM And.
- 15:59Speaker 1: I feel like Pete Carroll wasn't like run out of
- 16:01Speaker 1: Dodge because they were like, maybe I'll take a job
- 16:03Speaker 1: in the organization. So I'm gonna put the Seahawks at
- 16:06Speaker 1: one Carol Dundune.
- 16:08Speaker 2: He's over seventy, dude. I know we don't realize that
- 16:11Speaker 2: because he seems younger. But no, we just are older too,
- 16:14Speaker 2: and we'll just stay close to him.
- 16:15Speaker 3: They talk about the front office role he could play. Yeah,
- 16:17Speaker 3: but I don't know why they say fire then.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Yeah, Seahawks at won Commanders, two Chargers, three Titans, four Falcons,
- 16:24Speaker 1: five Raiders, six Panthers seven. That's just if were gonna
- 16:27Speaker 1: take a job there. It's not who I think would
- 16:28Speaker 1: be the best next year. What part did you struggle
- 16:31Speaker 1: with my answers The.
- 16:32Speaker 3: Commanders because they always how high they were new ownership.
- 16:37Speaker 7: I get that they want to spend money. They have money,
- 16:39Speaker 7: they have money to spend in.
- 16:40Speaker 1: A lot of room to spend it.
- 16:40Speaker 2: That's always fun or their quarterbacks on a rookie contract too,
- 16:44Speaker 2: samhow yeah, like near the end of it.
- 16:46Speaker 3: Yeah, they're gonna get another one.
- 16:49Speaker 1: Yeah, probably, and they are great. That's my list. I'm
- 16:52Speaker 1: sticking to it, thank you.
- 16:54Speaker 3: Okay, speaking of head coaches, here McCarthy and he's boy,
- 16:58Speaker 3: He's bad news.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Yesterday, big news, big news.
- 17:01Speaker 3: Do you think a year from now we'll be sitting
- 17:03Speaker 3: here talking about it and they will regret it?
- 17:05Speaker 1: Keeping them on, keeping him.
- 17:07Speaker 5: Yes.
- 17:07Speaker 1: So we're in a text group called Sinco Cowboys A
- 17:12Speaker 1: migos go oh my gosh. And how I got lumped
- 17:15Speaker 1: in this text group, I don't know, because you're a
- 17:16Speaker 1: Cowboys fan exactly. And so when that news broke yesterday,
- 17:21Speaker 1: this thread of all of our friends that are Cowboys fans,
- 17:24Speaker 1: Mike d Mike Signs, Steve Ortez, Eddie, myself, they couldn't
- 17:30Speaker 1: believe it. I couldn't believe it. I thought they're messing
- 17:32Speaker 1: with this.
- 17:32Speaker 2: I mean, I think if you went outside at that time,
- 17:34Speaker 2: you can hear everybody just in the world.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Going what or you hear you hear it from a
- 17:38Speaker 1: direction You're like, that must be where Dallas is that way?
- 17:42Speaker 1: So this justin Dallas is not making a head coaching change,
- 17:44Speaker 1: and Mike McCarthy's returning for twenty twenty four season, per
- 17:47Speaker 1: sources that was posting about Mike signs in our thread
- 17:49Speaker 1: at six forty nine PM and then you write son
- 17:51Speaker 1: of a b and he said the real word in
- 17:53Speaker 1: caps yep. And then he says, the good news is
- 17:55Speaker 1: we can make a ton of money betting against them
- 17:56Speaker 1: at twenty twenty four. True, that's not true. That's but
- 18:00Speaker 1: then Steve comes on says, but look, real talk one
- 18:02Speaker 1: good running back and we might be back in at Fellas,
- 18:05Speaker 1: and then Signs goes King Henry, and then Eddie goes,
- 18:08Speaker 1: I finally had time to go back and read all
- 18:09Speaker 1: these text from throughout. You guys are idiots, and then
- 18:11Speaker 1: they start posting memes and he then signs goes, I'm
- 18:16Speaker 1: going to choose to live in an alternative universe where
- 18:17Speaker 1: DeMarco is the coach of the Cowboys, and then Steve
- 18:21Speaker 1: posts an all time chart of the Dallas Cowboys coaches.
- 18:24Speaker 1: The coach with the highest one percentage ever is Jimmy
- 18:27Speaker 1: Johnson Mike McCarthy at sixty two point seven percent.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Wow.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Playoff record one and two that's pretty good. Number two
- 18:36Speaker 1: is Barry Switzer playoff record five and two. Wow, that's
- 18:41Speaker 1: that playoff record is where it's at for him. Number
- 18:44Speaker 1: three is Wade Phillips. Oh yeah, sixty point seven one
- 18:51Speaker 1: and two record. But the playoff record got him.
- 18:52Speaker 2: I remember what about it?
- 18:53Speaker 1: I remember those years for a while. Tom Landry, Yeah, man,
- 18:57Speaker 1: sixty percent. Those are all the sixty boys remember.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Yeah, my dad, my dad's dad, My grandfather busted Tom
- 19:04Speaker 2: Landry stealing bebes from his hardware store long time ago.
- 19:08Speaker 1: Really, yeah, do you think do you think the worst
- 19:10Speaker 1: Cowboy coaches percentage wise? There's only been Garrett three six.
- 19:13Speaker 1: I only been nine.
- 19:14Speaker 3: Coaches ever, Bill Parcells, you go.
- 19:17Speaker 1: Parcels at fifty three percent not the lowest. Jason good
- 19:20Speaker 1: at fifty five point six not the lowest. Wow said,
- 19:24Speaker 1: do you want him? You want him an order?
- 19:26Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 19:27Speaker 1: Tom Landry nineteen sixty to nineteen eighty eight, Jimmy Johnson
- 19:32Speaker 1: nineteen eighty nine to nineteen ninety three. Then who's next,
- 19:36Speaker 1: Barry Barry Switzer nineteen ninety four to nineteen ninety seven.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Who came after Barry Switzer?
- 19:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know. Tuna No.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Fifty six percent fifty percentage. Oh and two in the
- 19:47Speaker 1: playoffs nineteen ninety eight, ninety nine.
- 19:50Speaker 2: Who was that Chan Gaily? Oh, oh, my gosh.
- 19:55Speaker 1: I remember that after Chan Gaily is the only coach
- 19:57Speaker 1: to not win at least fifty percent of their games.
- 20:00Speaker 1: And this guy was a coach for two years. Oh
- 20:02Speaker 1: and oh in the playoffs because he sucked. He was
- 20:05Speaker 1: thirty one percent, but the only one below fifty percent, Eddie,
- 20:10Speaker 1: no glue, No glue. Dave Campo, Oh, dang, Dave Campo.
- 20:17Speaker 3: You should forget about that good old You don't think
- 20:20Speaker 3: I've ever heard that name of it.
- 20:21Speaker 1: Parcels, Wade, Phillips, Jason Gerett, Mike McCarthy, Eddie, your thoughts
- 20:24Speaker 1: on McCarthy coming back?
- 20:25Speaker 2: I think that they know something obviously that we don't know.
- 20:29Speaker 2: I think whoever is to blame, Uh, it's not McCarthy,
- 20:34Speaker 2: and we'll find out who that is once kind of later.
- 20:37Speaker 2: As the weeks go by, they're going to start firing
- 20:39Speaker 2: who they believe was at fault for whatever happened.
- 20:42Speaker 1: You know, the buck stops here, right whoever? If it's
- 20:44Speaker 1: Jerry Jones, okay, but he's not going to take the fall.
- 20:46Speaker 1: He's the owner. Correct, it's the buck stops of Mike McCarthy.
- 20:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:50Speaker 1: I think that they had a great regular season. He
- 20:53Speaker 1: did one year on his contract.
- 20:55Speaker 2: Man, I think I think it's Dan. I think it's Dan. Uh,
- 20:59Speaker 2: what's I think it's dan Quinn. I think it's Dan.
- 21:03Speaker 2: I think it's Dan Quinn who the problem was. And
- 21:04Speaker 2: I think that they all realize that, and that's why
- 21:07Speaker 2: McCarthy's not at fault here, and they're going to be like,
- 21:09Speaker 2: you know what, we're sticking with him. And also when
- 21:11Speaker 2: they look around, they're like, if we don't get Belichick,
- 21:13Speaker 2: who we're going to get Harball. Maybe he knows that
- 21:16Speaker 2: they're not going to get those two or those three,
- 21:18Speaker 2: and they're just like, let's.
- 21:19Speaker 1: Just keep them. Have they paid enough taxes?
- 21:22Speaker 2: They paid their taxes? I mean, dude, no, we're owing taxes.
- 21:25Speaker 4: Now.
- 21:25Speaker 1: What do you think the record will be next year?
- 21:27Speaker 2: Oh? The record next year?
- 21:29Speaker 1: How many wins?
- 21:30Speaker 2: I would say around the same. I would go with
- 21:32Speaker 2: twelve eleven twelve games.
- 21:34Speaker 1: How many playoff wins next year?
- 21:36Speaker 2: Probably zero. I mean, if we're going to keep McCarthy,
- 21:38Speaker 2: we're not going to change anything. Just change out a
- 21:41Speaker 2: couple of coordinators like it's going to be the same,
- 21:43Speaker 2: all right.
- 21:44Speaker 1: I think I'm surprised. I'm very surprised. But if they
- 21:48Speaker 1: didn't have another really solid name that they thought they
- 21:51Speaker 1: could get, it's better to keep McCarthy another year, especially
- 21:55Speaker 1: if you're not changing any other major pieces. I just
- 21:57Speaker 1: can't believe they've ket McCarthy another year. I can't believe
- 21:59Speaker 1: the wouldn't want money and get one of those ray
- 22:02Speaker 1: Wolves or yeah, that coordinator in Detroit, that.
- 22:04Speaker 3: Seat, man, I mean, it's gonna be happen.
- 22:06Speaker 1: All year, immediately, immediately, all year.
- 22:08Speaker 7: All right.
- 22:09Speaker 3: Next up, if Mahomes beat Josh Allen and the Bills
- 22:11Speaker 3: again on Sunday, Well, you consider this rivalry one sided.
- 22:15Speaker 1: Mahomes is two and zer against him in the playoffs,
- 22:19Speaker 1: but in regular season he's one to three. But we
- 22:21Speaker 1: just remember the playoffs what we're talking about a specifically. Yeah,
- 22:24Speaker 1: so he beat him twice in the playoffs, no losses.
- 22:27Speaker 1: That one game that was back and forth, that was
- 22:29Speaker 1: one of the craziest games ever. Yeah, years ago.
- 22:32Speaker 2: Is that when it came down that when it came
- 22:34Speaker 2: down to the coin toss, they blame it on the
- 22:35Speaker 2: coin toss.
- 22:36Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's why the rule has now changed to
- 22:38Speaker 1: if somebody scores, the other person at the playoffs in
- 22:41Speaker 1: overtime gets a chance to score. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 22:44Speaker 1: I think if he wins again, it is going to
- 22:46Speaker 1: be considered that's already considered a bit one sided, even
- 22:49Speaker 1: though the total record is alan. But it's three to
- 22:55Speaker 1: three three three.
- 22:56Speaker 2: Yeah, they're tied up.
- 22:57Speaker 1: I think because the two games are playoff games, mahomes
- 22:59Speaker 1: up two. Oh. I think it goes to Buffalo two
- 23:01Speaker 1: and wins, which is what's gonna happen, and they're they're
- 23:04Speaker 1: the underdog. It's in Buffalo. I think it becomes a
- 23:07Speaker 1: one sided affair. But Peyton and tom Brady was pretty
- 23:09Speaker 1: one sided too for a while. Yeah for tom Brady.
- 23:12Speaker 1: Tom Brady ran it long time, all right?
- 23:14Speaker 3: Next up, which quarterback making his second playoffs start? Do
- 23:19Speaker 3: you trust more to pull off an upset? C? J.
- 23:21Speaker 3: Stroud at Baltimore or Jordan Love at San Francisco.
- 23:25Speaker 1: Both these teams are nine point underdogs on the road.
- 23:28Speaker 1: You look at the defenses. The Ravens defense has allowed
- 23:31Speaker 1: sixteen points per game. The forty nine Ers defense allowed
- 23:33Speaker 1: seventy points per game. I just can't jump on even
- 23:38Speaker 1: though everything that my eyes have showed me, shows me
- 23:41Speaker 1: that C. J. Stroud's really good. I just keep waiting
- 23:43Speaker 1: for a rookie to rookie at least once remember started
- 23:46Speaker 1: the season, get thrown interception like he hasn't really rookie
- 23:48Speaker 1: hard No, I just keep waiting for the rookie to rookie.
- 23:51Speaker 1: And if he doesn't, that's awesome. Dude, you're the man.
- 23:54Speaker 1: But usually at rookie rookies at some point, so I
- 23:57Speaker 1: hope he does. It's awesome to see the Texans win.
- 24:00Speaker 1: But I'm gonna go with Jordan Jordan Love of San Francisco.
- 24:03Speaker 1: I think San Franco is a bit vulnerable. I think
- 24:06Speaker 1: the Packers can play them closer. If I were betting
- 24:08Speaker 1: the game, which I'm not, well not at this moment
- 24:11Speaker 1: right now, you will, you will? I would take I
- 24:15Speaker 1: would take Green Bay in the points. That's gonna be.
- 24:18Speaker 1: I like that game. Yeah, I like that game. Game
- 24:20Speaker 1: all right, thank you very much.
- 24:21Speaker 5: That is.

- 24:46Speaker 1: still feel when people hit me up, they're like, I
- 24:48Speaker 1: bet with you, and I'm like, why why would Like
- 24:51Speaker 1: if we're like calling single games great, I've done okay
- 24:54Speaker 1: at that, but man, we've just been so snake bitting
- 24:56Speaker 1: with our parlays. But this is the one because we're
- 24:59Speaker 1: gonna We're to gain the system a little bit here.
- 25:02Speaker 1: I don't know the Chiefs Bills game, Like, I think
- 25:05Speaker 1: the Chiefs are gonna win the game, but the Bills
- 25:07Speaker 1: are a three and a half point favorite. I just
- 25:10Speaker 1: can't see me even betting that at all. What it's
- 25:14Speaker 1: moved two and a half it is, Yeah, it keeps moving.
- 25:18Speaker 1: That's that scary a little bit, no, because I know
- 25:22Speaker 1: it's scaring me to make me feel better about me
- 25:23Speaker 1: thinking the Chiefs would win.
- 25:24Speaker 2: You're gonna lose one point though.
- 25:26Speaker 1: But I'm not betting it. I'm saying I wouldn't bet that, Okay,
- 25:29Speaker 1: I can't because I think the Chiefs are gonna win.
- 25:30Speaker 1: And I'm also not gonna bet it. Chiefs money line. Yeah,
- 25:33Speaker 1: screw it. That changed quick. I'm going Chiefs plus two
- 25:39Speaker 1: and a half, Ravens money line, Niners money line. Screw
- 25:52Speaker 1: it all money lines. No Chiefs, Ravens Niners all money lines.

- 26:16Speaker 2: and thirteen cents.
- 26:17Speaker 1: Let's go.
- 26:18Speaker 2: Yeah, put a thousand, Okay, let me put a thousand

- 26:39Speaker 1: in New York called eight seven to seven eight hope
- 26:40Speaker 1: and wire text ope and y four six seven three
- 26:43Speaker 1: six nine.
- 26:48Speaker 2: We like that.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Getting back on tracks now, this is awesome. Jamie Dixon
- 26:52Speaker 1: and what a dude? What what a successful coach that
- 26:55Speaker 1: people don't talk about enough. With good hair too, just
- 26:58Speaker 1: like has one in that level with the greats. So
- 27:02Speaker 1: we sat down with Jamie Dixon, coach of TCU. He's
- 27:05Speaker 1: in the TCU Hall of Fame as a player, he's
- 27:07Speaker 1: a point guard in the mid eighties. Coach had a
- 27:09Speaker 1: bunch of records of Pitt and has turned his TCU
- 27:10Speaker 1: program all the way around since twenty sixteen. They're currently
- 27:13Speaker 1: ranked in the top twenty. They just beat Oklahoma and
- 27:15Speaker 1: Houston in back to back games. He's legit here, he is, coach,
- 27:19Speaker 1: Jamie Dixon.
- 27:20Speaker 7: Coach, we appreciate your time.
- 27:22Speaker 1: As soon as you get a player from the portal,
- 27:25Speaker 1: are you sending them everything possible here? He's going to tape,
- 27:28Speaker 1: I mean, or do they get here and you slowly
- 27:30Speaker 1: bring them in?
- 27:31Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 27:31Speaker 1: No.
- 27:31Speaker 8: It is interesting because the transfer kid, especially the grad
- 27:35Speaker 8: transfer kid, generally there as soon as they commit to you,
- 27:39Speaker 8: they want they want to know what you're running. They're
- 27:40Speaker 8: watching the film. There's just so much more mature. They're
- 27:43Speaker 8: not worried about prom and high school or you know,
- 27:46Speaker 8: the the graduating finishing up their school. It's they're just
- 27:50Speaker 8: it's just different. So yes, there's we're getting them in there.
- 27:54Speaker 8: Most of our guys got here right away in June,
- 27:56Speaker 8: so we're going full board, we're putting five on five,
- 27:58Speaker 8: we're practicing, we've got all our stuff. And in June
- 28:00Speaker 8: and July we had Jamiir got here a little bit late,
- 28:03Speaker 8: Jamie and Nelson because he's an English major, so not
- 28:04Speaker 8: a lot of those guys, but that took a little bit.
- 28:08Speaker 1: With football, sometimes of practice they'll go full contact a
- 28:10Speaker 1: little less. Do you guys go five on five hard
- 28:13Speaker 1: a little less so no one gets injured or what's
- 28:15Speaker 1: kind of the mindset With basketball.
- 28:17Speaker 5: The problem is they want to go live.
- 28:20Speaker 8: You know, you don't want to do too much too
- 28:21Speaker 8: all summer long, but you've got to throw in some
- 28:24Speaker 8: five on five. You got throw in some opportunity, some
- 28:27Speaker 8: competitive stuff because that's what they want to do.
- 28:29Speaker 5: So yeah, you'd like to say, save no injuries, you.
- 28:32Speaker 8: Know, build up, but if you've got competitors, you got
- 28:36Speaker 8: guys they want to play and they kind of want
- 28:38Speaker 8: to test each other out, especially the new guys.
- 28:40Speaker 5: So you know, we keep that as much a part
- 28:43Speaker 5: of it, but we don't want to go overboard on it.
- 28:45Speaker 5: So there's a balance to no question.
- 28:47Speaker 7: Coach, how does the voice hold up throughout the season.
- 28:49Speaker 2: I mean obviously you start coaching and you're yelling constantly
- 28:53Speaker 2: at players across the court.
- 28:54Speaker 7: Like hey, I see you guys saying hey, like over here.
- 28:58Speaker 7: How does your voice hold up?
- 29:00Speaker 9: Uh?
- 29:00Speaker 5: Yeah, throughout the whole?
- 29:01Speaker 8: Well, you know, I'm not a yeller in practice, I
- 29:02Speaker 8: don't think that much, so I guess I save some there. Yeah,
- 29:06Speaker 8: there's you don't want to yell in games either, but
- 29:08Speaker 8: they can't hear, so there's I guess there's.
- 29:10Speaker 5: Really no other option.
- 29:11Speaker 8: I was like, you think when my wife's started, we started,
- 29:14Speaker 8: uh dating, Like do you really need to? Well, there's
- 29:18Speaker 8: there's some background knowings that we're working out with here,
- 29:21Speaker 8: and so there's some challenges. But last week I felt
- 29:25Speaker 8: we weren't I didn't know, we executed some plays, we
- 29:27Speaker 8: didn't know, everybody didn't know what we're in. So we
- 29:29Speaker 8: turned into the communication week. We're going to communicate better,
- 29:33Speaker 8: and so we've huddled better, We've uh, each guy has
- 29:36Speaker 8: to tell somebody where we're pointing and talking, calling out
- 29:39Speaker 8: a number who we have. So you know, you're just
- 29:41Speaker 8: constantly trying to improve communication. And so we've got a
- 29:45Speaker 8: name for it, and and uh, it's helped, it's improved.
- 29:48Speaker 5: But yeah, it's uh.
- 29:50Speaker 8: That is that that's probably the best most important thing
- 29:53Speaker 8: of coaching is communication. How do you how do you
- 29:56Speaker 8: get them to relay information to one another and then
- 29:59Speaker 8: take what you're trying to say and put it into play.
- 30:02Speaker 1: Do you ever just go full freestyle? I was like,
- 30:04Speaker 1: all right, guys, called time out, just go do whatever.
- 30:06Speaker 5: Like I don't know about that. I mean, you know, I.
- 30:08Speaker 8: Think play like we practice is what we would say,
- 30:11Speaker 8: you know, play do what we do. Sometimes you get
- 30:14Speaker 8: away from that. We've had a little challenge in the
- 30:16Speaker 8: first couple of games of playing a little different once
- 30:19Speaker 8: the lights come on and the crowds at the games,
- 30:21Speaker 8: and that's a that's a normal thing, especially when you've
- 30:24Speaker 8: been practicing since June and everybody's excited when some people
- 30:27Speaker 8: get there and watch so it's on TV. Throw that
- 30:30Speaker 8: in there, But that's uh, I think that's more where
- 30:34Speaker 8: you got to get back to how you practiced is
- 30:36Speaker 8: what you what we're constantly trying to preach.
- 30:39Speaker 1: With you guys going to the tournament the last couple
- 30:41Speaker 1: of years, and I before that is the goal to
- 30:44Speaker 1: win it all.
- 30:45Speaker 8: Yeah, I mean we've we're at a point where where
- 30:49Speaker 8: we've got to take another step. I think I'm not
- 30:52Speaker 8: hiding from it, you know, I mean obviously for this place.
- 30:55Speaker 8: You know, we've never been in the tournament two years
- 30:56Speaker 8: in a row and never won games in the tournament
- 30:59Speaker 8: before and so uh since I played, I guess is
- 31:02Speaker 8: what they tell me. But yeah, we got to take
- 31:04Speaker 8: a step. And then we have the guys this year,
- 31:06Speaker 8: and and and I stepped maybe two steps. To be
- 31:08Speaker 8: honest with you, I mean, uh, we're experienced, we're old
- 31:12Speaker 8: this year. Last year we're kind of young if you
- 31:13Speaker 8: looked at it. Uh, but we have the guys, and
- 31:16Speaker 8: I'm not I'm not shying away from it. We were
- 31:18Speaker 8: good enough if we uh uh physically we're old enough,
- 31:21Speaker 8: we're experienced. We've got to We've got it. We've got
- 31:25Speaker 8: to We've got to play well in the non conference.
- 31:27Speaker 8: Last year we struggled cause we had guys out and
- 31:29Speaker 8: we got to be healthy. You know, we had fifty
- 31:31Speaker 8: five missed games last year between uh guys, we thought
- 31:34Speaker 8: we were gonna have you know, we we got to
- 31:36Speaker 8: have you know, Kansas had five, Texas had six, they
- 31:39Speaker 8: won the league.
- 31:40Speaker 5: So those are the things we have to uh, we
- 31:42Speaker 5: have to do.
- 31:43Speaker 8: So yeah, well our goal is you know, and since
- 31:46Speaker 8: I've got here, probably my goals have been much higher
- 31:49Speaker 8: than everybody here ever thought of. But we believe that
- 31:53Speaker 8: we have the guys. Know, we just got to them
- 31:55Speaker 8: out there every day and executing together.
- 31:57Speaker 1: When you look back at your your record as a
- 31:59Speaker 1: head coach at pit you went two hundred games on
- 32:01Speaker 1: a lightning pace. You're already in the Hall of fame
- 32:04Speaker 1: here as you're coaching at Pitt. Was it a no
- 32:08Speaker 1: brainer to come here? It was a little bit of
- 32:10Speaker 1: you like, man if I go back and it doesn't
- 32:12Speaker 1: go well, yeah, then but I don't want I don't
- 32:14Speaker 1: want my last taste to be negative.
- 32:16Speaker 5: Yeah no, there there's there's Uh I still have that fear.
- 32:19Speaker 8: But yeah, uh that that was somebody. I had some
- 32:23Speaker 8: friends that I talked to about it, and that was
- 32:25Speaker 8: you know. They was talked about going back to your
- 32:27Speaker 8: alma manor and how that just cauld that will end poorly.
- 32:30Speaker 5: So I did have that conversation before.
- 32:34Speaker 8: But yeah, I just I think timing everything how it
- 32:37Speaker 8: played out, it just it just seemed and it was
- 32:39Speaker 8: more familiarity was we hadn't changed as the chancellor, we
- 32:42Speaker 8: had a change in athletic director. And then I happened
- 32:45Speaker 8: to know this chancellor probably longer and better, and I
- 32:48Speaker 8: knew this athletic director better, and just.
- 32:50Speaker 5: The timing of it is how it kind of played out.
- 32:52Speaker 8: And it's like, you know, I always kind of wanted
- 32:54Speaker 8: to do it, And I also thought, if if I
- 32:57Speaker 8: can't do it, then who can.
- 32:59Speaker 5: I mean, I've I've I've you know.
- 33:02Speaker 8: Gone experienced other places, I've coached at the highest level.
- 33:06Speaker 5: I've played here. I have a passion for this place.
- 33:08Speaker 8: I owe this place, and so I thought I had
- 33:11Speaker 8: all the all the necessary things to battle through it,
- 33:14Speaker 8: because obviously there was gonna be some challenges, more than
- 33:16Speaker 8: I thought when I got here. But but we were
- 33:20Speaker 8: fighting through it and and and trying to make it,
- 33:22Speaker 8: you know, a perennial power.
- 33:24Speaker 1: I was talking to Chuck earlier and we said, give
- 33:25Speaker 1: us one word for coach.
- 33:27Speaker 7: What word do you think? He said one? He gave
- 33:29Speaker 7: us one word.
- 33:30Speaker 5: For you, relentless. I don't know, Chuck.
- 33:34Speaker 8: Chuck will have a pretty comedic response, sure, And and
- 33:38Speaker 8: we try to keep it light.
- 33:40Speaker 5: You know, I I they made fun of me. You know,
- 33:42Speaker 5: it was my birthday the other day.
- 33:43Speaker 8: They're all putting all these old pictures on there, and
- 33:45Speaker 8: we had some back and forth on the on the chat.
- 33:48Speaker 8: So I want them making fun of me because you know,
- 33:51Speaker 8: we make fun of the whole. You know, we we enjoy,
- 33:54Speaker 8: we enjoy practice, we enjoy the conversation.
- 33:57Speaker 5: So give it to me. What did you get?
- 33:58Speaker 7: Intense?
- 33:59Speaker 5: Intense? Always?
- 34:00Speaker 7: I thought all the way he said, always.
- 34:02Speaker 8: Yeah, that, and you know we're trying to get that,
- 34:05Speaker 8: and Chuck points that out regularly, by the way, but
- 34:09Speaker 8: we're trying to get him a little bit more. But
- 34:10Speaker 8: you know, I say that in the last two games,
- 34:12Speaker 8: last last week and last game he was our best defender,
- 34:15Speaker 8: which is you know, what's keeping him from being you know,
- 34:18Speaker 8: on the floor more so it was great to see
- 34:21Speaker 8: him step up. But you know what, that's good why
- 34:23Speaker 8: our standard right now is high with him and the
- 34:26Speaker 8: four other experienced guys. We have five guys that are
- 34:29Speaker 8: totally invested in this program that have once they got here,
- 34:32Speaker 8: we started, you know, we've been in you know, a
- 34:34Speaker 8: top twenty five program and you know, no one thought
- 34:38Speaker 8: that was possible. And this is our best group, there's
- 34:40Speaker 8: no question. If we can stay healthy, this is the
- 34:43Speaker 8: best ten guys will put on the floor, and there's
- 34:45Speaker 8: no question.
- 34:46Speaker 1: Final three questions. It used to be twenty games and
- 34:50Speaker 1: you're in. That was the general rule. If you went
- 34:52Speaker 1: twenty games, you get the NCAA tournament, become from power five.
- 34:56Speaker 1: It doesn't feel like it's really that anymore. It feels
- 34:58Speaker 1: like it's twenty two to twenty three. What do you
- 35:00Speaker 1: think the automatic is?
- 35:02Speaker 5: Well?
- 35:02Speaker 8: I mean, you know again, you're asking the guy. It's
- 35:06Speaker 8: been in the toughest league in the country every year
- 35:07Speaker 8: of his career.
- 35:08Speaker 5: I mean, it was in the Big East. It was
- 35:09Speaker 5: the best.
- 35:10Speaker 8: Acc we go over there, Louisville comes with us here
- 35:13Speaker 8: because it becomes the best. And then as I come here,
- 35:16Speaker 8: this thing all of a sudden starts getting better. Then
- 35:17Speaker 8: we get better, and then it's become the best. So
- 35:20Speaker 8: I don't you know, our number is lower because we're
- 35:22Speaker 8: gonna have a top no matter what we're.
- 35:24Speaker 7: You saying, you bring the best everywhere, it gets the best.
- 35:27Speaker 7: That's what I just heard. Coach everything everywhere.
- 35:29Speaker 8: You went, No, no, no, What I'm saying is I
- 35:31Speaker 8: wouldn't recommend it to any other coaches that want to
- 35:33Speaker 8: do it, don't do what I've done, because our thing
- 35:37Speaker 8: is we're going to play our top ten. We're gonna
- 35:39Speaker 8: have a top ten schedule. But no matter who we
- 35:41Speaker 8: schedule in the non conference, like literally, it's it's it
- 35:44Speaker 8: doesn't matter.
- 35:45Speaker 5: I mean, like, that's how good our league was. Last year.
- 35:48Speaker 8: We had the ten of the eleven top schedules in
- 35:51Speaker 8: the country. So I don't think that that number works.
- 35:55Speaker 5: It works. Our conference was so much better by the numbers.
- 35:59Speaker 8: And that's what we're going and by because you're asking
- 36:00Speaker 8: me about numbers that you know, I think he got
- 36:04Speaker 8: in with eighteen nineteen, but we couldn't get in because
- 36:10Speaker 8: they wouldn't give us the benefit because they had a
- 36:13Speaker 8: seven to eleven record in our conference. And so there's
- 36:16Speaker 8: a seventy percent limit in our league, is what I'm
- 36:18Speaker 8: getting to. That was a long answer to it. There's
- 36:20Speaker 8: seventy percent is the highest number possible, and that's what
- 36:23Speaker 8: we did last year.
- 36:24Speaker 2: Coach Uh, I know how it is because I coached
- 36:26Speaker 2: my son's nine year old basketball team and Kevin here
- 36:30Speaker 2: is my assistant, and it was so hard to stay
- 36:32Speaker 2: in that box or not beyond the court, like how
- 36:36Speaker 2: hard is it for you to stay contained in your area?
- 36:39Speaker 5: Well, you know, it's funny.
- 36:40Speaker 8: It's the lines are the same obviously on the court,
- 36:45Speaker 8: and I've approached out that, but as far as room
- 36:48Speaker 8: in between the sideline and the benches, there's different on
- 36:51Speaker 8: each court. So literally on our court, there's in ours
- 36:54Speaker 8: is kind of they added seats and they put some
- 36:56Speaker 8: down on the floor.
- 36:57Speaker 5: There's literally if the players are there.
- 36:59Speaker 8: And you you stand next to the players in their feet,
- 37:02Speaker 8: like I'm gonna be on the court. There's literally no
- 37:04Speaker 8: way possible that you can be not be on the court.
- 37:07Speaker 8: So some have more room than others, as I found.
- 37:10Speaker 8: I kept when I got here. I'm like, there's no
- 37:12Speaker 8: way They're telling me to get off the line. I'm like,
- 37:14Speaker 8: there's no way I can stand up and not be
- 37:16Speaker 8: on the line. So that's that's one of the channels.
- 37:20Speaker 8: So every court is different. People have no one that
- 37:23Speaker 8: ever pointed that out, but there is less room on
- 37:25Speaker 8: some places now back and forth.
- 37:28Speaker 5: Yeah, that's when you got to watch in my mind,
- 37:30Speaker 5: so work on it.
- 37:32Speaker 1: Final question, if you go on vacation and say you're
- 37:35Speaker 1: on an island somewhere and there's a little pickup game,
- 37:37Speaker 1: and you hop in the pickup game and you don't
- 37:39Speaker 1: tell them how you used to play? Do you ever
- 37:41Speaker 1: just blow just like they're like, look at what's up
- 37:43Speaker 1: with this dude?
- 37:44Speaker 5: No, No, I am.
- 37:45Speaker 8: I literally as much as I played, and no one
- 37:47Speaker 8: loved playing more than me. I mean I dropped it
- 37:50Speaker 8: cold turkey. I mean I was, And I'll tell you
- 37:52Speaker 8: what happened.
- 37:53Speaker 5: I was.
- 37:54Speaker 8: I had an injury playing overseas, and then I took
- 37:56Speaker 8: a where I had to stop playing. Then I kind
- 37:59Speaker 8: of thought about playing a little bit more like you're saying.
- 38:02Speaker 8: And then I was coaching in Hawaii and I played
- 38:07Speaker 8: over in the in the gym with a bunch of
- 38:09Speaker 8: football players and I got hammered and turned my ankle
- 38:12Speaker 8: and I showed up at crutches practice the next.
- 38:15Speaker 5: Day, and I'm like, if I'm going to coach, I'm
- 38:17Speaker 5: going to coach. And that's it. So I don't. I
- 38:20Speaker 5: don't think i've played ever since.
- 38:21Speaker 1: Then, secretly you put on the uniform at night, turn
- 38:23Speaker 1: the lights when one's lucky.
- 38:25Speaker 5: No, there's none of that. I'm not even like I'm
- 38:28Speaker 5: telling you.
- 38:29Speaker 8: It surprises me that I went from every day all day,
- 38:33Speaker 8: no one played more than made done doing it and
- 38:36Speaker 8: don't love golf?
- 38:37Speaker 5: Do it when I have to? Oh I do uh extra.
- 38:40Speaker 8: I mean I got into COVID, I got into uh cycling,
- 38:44Speaker 8: So I got bike up in the office. I just
- 38:47Speaker 8: take off from here. I try swimming on the road. Yeah, yeah,
- 38:51Speaker 8: well we have we have the river and the path here,
- 38:55Speaker 8: the Attorney trail.
- 38:56Speaker 7: So you say your name on the back of your shirt.
- 38:58Speaker 7: Does there have to run you off the road?
- 38:59Speaker 1: No?
- 38:59Speaker 8: No, no, I'm I'm I just get on my gear
- 39:02Speaker 8: practice here that. I mean, everybody's wearing purple around here,
- 39:05Speaker 8: so it doesn't matter.
- 39:06Speaker 7: Well, Coach, good luck you guys.
- 39:07Speaker 5: Have you guys? Are we are? Yeah?
- 39:09Speaker 7: We're always wear this look. Yeah this is We didn't
- 39:11Speaker 7: even know where we're coming to TC today. We just
- 39:12Speaker 7: had this on and we were like, let's just stop by.
- 39:15Speaker 7: So it's love it.
- 39:18Speaker 1: Congratulations on everything you've done, Coach, rooting for you this show.
- 39:20Speaker 1: Thank you, Thank you, appreciate. A woman says HR always
- 39:25Speaker 1: has to change her email address due to her crappy initials.
- 39:29Speaker 1: What are they, Samantha hart.
- 39:33Speaker 4: S H.
- 39:35Speaker 1: What do you think those that that that would be
- 39:38Speaker 1: Samantha hart oh s h T s h A R. T.
- 39:42Speaker 2: Shart. Oh Short.
- 39:47Speaker 1: So dumbed.
- 39:50Speaker 4: To the New York Post.
- 39:51Speaker 1: They won't let her have that email. Samantha should be
- 39:55Speaker 1: happy because everybody would think it as they're writing it.
- 39:59Speaker 1: You'd be known for that.
- 40:00Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I'm as to gett an email from Short.
- 40:02Speaker 1: You get to laugh every time, you know. I was
- 40:05Speaker 1: watching the video of Rodney Terry after the Texas game
- 40:09Speaker 1: getting upset at the UCF players because they were doing
- 40:12Speaker 1: horns down after they beat Texas, going classless. Mike, we
- 40:14Speaker 1: had the audio. It's the press conference. This is a
- 40:17Speaker 1: Texas basketball coach question.
- 40:18Speaker 9: You know, I'm a big believer, and you know, you
- 40:21Speaker 9: win the right way, you lose the right way. And
- 40:23Speaker 9: you know, I always tell my guys, you know, whether
- 40:27Speaker 9: you win or lose, you win the right way, you
- 40:30Speaker 9: lose the right way. You carry yourself the right way.
- 40:32Speaker 9: You don't go through the handshake line or probably getting
- 40:35Speaker 9: to the handshake line and have about six or seven
- 40:38Speaker 9: guys putting the horns down. We don't do that, you know,
- 40:41Speaker 9: because when you do those kinds of things, it looks
- 40:44Speaker 9: very classless, and it also looks like you were just
- 40:46Speaker 9: hoping to win. We never go in the games trying
- 40:49Speaker 9: to hope to win. We go in the games expecting
- 40:52Speaker 9: to win. So we don't act like that, you know,
- 40:55Speaker 9: we expect to win. We don't jump up and down
- 40:57Speaker 9: like like we wont a national championship. We sure don't
- 40:59Speaker 9: step up on anyone's home court deal and that crazy
- 41:02Speaker 9: and try to show them up in any way. We
- 41:04Speaker 9: don't do that, you know. So that's what I was
- 41:07Speaker 9: angry about, and I was letting those guys know, you
- 41:10Speaker 9: don't do that.
- 41:11Speaker 5: You know you guys won.
- 41:12Speaker 9: Hey, we shake, you know, shake your hand, tip my
- 41:15Speaker 9: head to you, but we're not gonna let you act
- 41:17Speaker 9: that way. You're not building.
- 41:18Speaker 5: You're not gonna do that.
- 41:19Speaker 9: You're not gonna put your horns down and do all
- 41:21Speaker 9: that nonsense.
- 41:22Speaker 1: When they were shaking hands, he yelled at the players,
- 41:24Speaker 1: don't do that. S they were doing horns down. I
- 41:27Speaker 1: wish that my school had a symbol that we did that.
- 41:31Speaker 1: We were so big and good that people got back
- 41:33Speaker 1: at us by turning it upside down. Exactly. It's the
- 41:35Speaker 1: greatest compliment when somebody beats you that they do your
- 41:36Speaker 1: sign upside down, like they know you're sign and they
- 41:39Speaker 1: know how to do it. Upside down. Yeah, it sucks,
- 41:41Speaker 1: but you lost. But your brand is so big it
- 41:45Speaker 1: is the Longhorn brand is a monster. And you know
- 41:47Speaker 1: what happens when your brand's big. A lot of people
- 41:49Speaker 1: don't like it and they do that to stay down.
- 41:54Speaker 1: It's hilarious.
- 41:55Speaker 2: You should get used to this. I feel like we
- 41:56Speaker 2: have about this every year that somebody's upset because they're
- 41:59Speaker 2: doing horns down.
- 42:00Speaker 1: If a player can do a horns up, we can
- 42:02Speaker 1: do horns there, you can do horn down. So you know,
- 42:05Speaker 1: you don't take the sticker off until the first player
- 42:08Speaker 1: does horns up. But even then it's not it's not
- 42:11Speaker 1: an insult. It's them going, dang, you guys are a
- 42:14Speaker 1: big program. You got a really cool sign. I want
- 42:16Speaker 1: to do the opposite of it and show you that
- 42:18Speaker 1: this one time we beat this, this very select moment,
- 42:22Speaker 1: we're better than you, because normally we're not.
- 42:24Speaker 2: And that's a good point. You can't do that to
- 42:25Speaker 2: anyone else. You can't go to Notre Dame and be like,
- 42:28Speaker 2: what's their sign?
- 42:28Speaker 1: Like I mean, if you do Texas Tech like shoot
- 42:30Speaker 1: them upside downside, nobody cares.
- 42:34Speaker 7: It's not big enough.
- 42:35Speaker 1: It's not big enough.
- 42:37Speaker 2: Down is perfect.
- 42:38Speaker 7: You can be shooting text.
- 42:40Speaker 1: All the day long and nobody gets mad because it's
- 42:42Speaker 1: not big and that that that's not big enough of
- 42:44Speaker 1: a brand. Whoa the horns are. I don't want to
- 42:53Speaker 1: do it my hand because it feels right. That's such
- 42:56Speaker 1: a big brand. Everybody knows that. So they turn it
- 42:58Speaker 1: upside down. While they were like, they're gonna throw flags
- 43:01Speaker 1: in football. If players did it on the field, it's
- 43:03Speaker 1: a dumbest thing. You should be happy they do. What
- 43:05Speaker 1: that means they they hate you. You know why they
- 43:07Speaker 1: hate you because they kind of respect you in a
- 43:09Speaker 1: weird way. And I'm a dad, all right, I got
- 43:12Speaker 1: four boys. People did a ooey suey pig upside down?
- 43:15Speaker 2: No, no, no, they're not gonna do that.
- 43:17Speaker 1: I know because I don't care about it enough. Go ahead. Look,
- 43:20Speaker 1: I got four boys.
- 43:21Speaker 2: And if somebody like, if I taught my boys whatever
- 43:23Speaker 2: to insult the team, that's my thing, right I shot.
- 43:26Speaker 2: I taught them, Sure, whatever you want, man, we're gonna
- 43:28Speaker 2: go and we're gonna beat him, and then you can
- 43:29Speaker 2: do thumbs down to him after we beat them.
- 43:31Speaker 1: Who cares. But if some other dad or the.
- 43:33Speaker 2: Other coach came and told my kids not to do
- 43:36Speaker 2: something that I said it was okay to do. I'd
- 43:38Speaker 2: be upset, Like i'd be upset about was UCF's coach.
- 43:41Speaker 2: You'd be like, well, well, WHOA, don't talk to my
- 43:43Speaker 2: kids like that, Like you can't tell them not to
- 43:45Speaker 2: do stuff.
- 43:45Speaker 1: Do you see ados push the player?
- 43:47Speaker 9: No?
- 43:47Speaker 1: Yeah, he Alabama coach. I think it was a Missouri player.
- 43:51Speaker 1: He pushed in with his arm and then he had
- 43:52Speaker 1: to give like a form like a can't do that.
- 43:54Speaker 1: He's like, I'm sorry, that's all that's all they made
- 43:56Speaker 1: him do. But he like they were they had like
- 43:59Speaker 1: all come in on the side. They were kind of
- 44:01Speaker 1: dawn each other, and he takes his form and just
- 44:03Speaker 1: pushes him out. Not in a way of like but everything,
- 44:06Speaker 1: you can't touch your player, but he was kind of
- 44:08Speaker 1: trying to keep people from fighting as well. Oh yeah
- 44:10Speaker 1: is it Missouri?
- 44:12Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah, and what yeah, It's like he's just
- 44:14Speaker 3: trying to break things up.
- 44:15Speaker 1: But he did put his arm on and push them away.
- 44:17Speaker 1: But I felt the same way, like, guys, relax, this
- 44:21Speaker 1: kid could have punched that care That kid could have
- 44:22Speaker 1: got punched. They just took him as an adult. It said, no,
- 44:25Speaker 1: get back with your arm. Yeah, so horns down.
- 44:29Speaker 3: I love it, Mike, Do you hate it?
- 44:31Speaker 1: I find it so annoying, especially whenever something bad happens
- 44:33Speaker 1: in the game and they cut to people in the
- 44:35Speaker 1: crowd doing the horns down.
- 44:36Speaker 5: Rouse me up.
- 44:37Speaker 1: That means they're waiting for it though, like they practiced it.
- 44:39Speaker 1: That's the greatest compliment. The greatest compliment is that people
- 44:42Speaker 1: take your thing and do it reverse because it affects
- 44:47Speaker 1: him so fricking much. That's why I do horns down everywhere,
- 44:49Speaker 1: go everywhere walking around. Yes, it's respect.
- 44:51Speaker 2: I just recently tapped my kid's horns down recently during
- 44:55Speaker 2: the playoff games. I'm like, all right, well, this is
- 44:56Speaker 2: what you do right here.
- 44:57Speaker 1: And they loved it. They loved it. It's that's a
- 45:00Speaker 1: odd respect, honestly, it is, you know there signed it's
- 45:03Speaker 1: like a middle.
- 45:03Speaker 7: Finger to you though.
- 45:05Speaker 1: It's a unique one though, yes, But it's a middle
- 45:07Speaker 1: finger that you came up with that they're jumping off of.
- 45:10Speaker 1: Like had you not come up with it?
- 45:11Speaker 4: They never do that.
- 45:11Speaker 1: It wasn't like they invented their own thing to hate you.
- 45:13Speaker 1: They took your thing that you get to use so
- 45:15Speaker 1: much because you win so much that we see it
- 45:18Speaker 1: so much that every once in a while they get
- 45:19Speaker 1: to go, I don't why I'm sticking out for Texas
- 45:21Speaker 1: right now, but I'm telling you it's a compliment. It's
- 45:24Speaker 1: a compliment. TCU Won's basketball cancel two games because of
- 45:28Speaker 1: a player shortage. They don't have enough players due to injuries.
- 45:32Speaker 1: Tc you said the cancelations were a result of injuries
- 45:35Speaker 1: within the program and to ensure the help in the
- 45:37Speaker 1: safety of the student athletes, they could not fill the
- 45:40Speaker 1: team and have to forfeit.
- 45:41Speaker 2: This is where you do like those historical events of
- 45:45Speaker 2: where they did.
- 45:46Speaker 1: Trials right now, Yeah, that's what I rather. They're doing
- 45:48Speaker 1: trials to find people, is what you're gonna say.
- 45:49Speaker 2: Well, you know, like I remember going to a Texas
- 45:51Speaker 2: A and M game when I was in high school
- 45:53Speaker 2: and they were trying to talk to me about the
- 45:54Speaker 2: twelfth man tradition, and they were like, back in the day,
- 45:57Speaker 2: they ran out of players and somebody from the crowd
- 46:00Speaker 2: him down, suit it.
- 46:00Speaker 1: Up and play. It was like the thirties. Brow. I know,
- 46:03Speaker 1: I get I get that, but I mean, but the
- 46:06Speaker 1: guy coming down with a plumber who played eight years back,
- 46:08Speaker 1: twenty five years ago.
- 46:09Speaker 2: But like he's got a statue and everything there, and
- 46:12Speaker 2: he's the twelfth Man that just stood He just stood
- 46:14Speaker 2: up and played. And I'm like, that's the opportunity for
- 46:17Speaker 2: you to do something. So that can be a huge
- 46:19Speaker 2: tradition at school.
- 46:20Speaker 1: For that version.
- 46:21Speaker 7: Now is what they're doing.
- 46:22Speaker 1: The university got on social media say the women's basketball
- 46:25Speaker 1: program is holding open tryouts for people that want to
- 46:27Speaker 1: walk on and join the horn Frogs for the remainder
- 46:30Speaker 1: of the year.
- 46:30Speaker 2: That's amazing.
- 46:31Speaker 3: He's trying to make a movie over here.
- 46:33Speaker 1: Just walk on a field. What do you mean they
- 46:35Speaker 1: did that?
- 46:35Speaker 2: Man taxa a and it the twelfth Man did it.
- 46:37Speaker 2: I think they won the game too. I hear he
- 46:40Speaker 2: scored the winning touchdown.
- 46:41Speaker 1: Speaking of TCU, that's like, you know what I like
- 46:44Speaker 1: though about Txana and they do the all walk on
- 46:47Speaker 1: kickoff at the end of the year, the kickoff team,
- 46:50Speaker 1: it's all walk on.
- 46:51Speaker 3: That's cool.
- 46:51Speaker 1: Yeah, the whole special teams in school.
- 46:53Speaker 2: I got a lot of traditions there. They do something
- 46:55Speaker 2: that were weird, really weird, like you can't walk on
- 46:57Speaker 2: a piece of grass or something there. I don't know.
- 47:01Speaker 1: A lot of horns down though, all right, let's do this.

- 48:03Speaker 1: TCU fourward Chuck O'Bannon Junior. Chuck is six to seven
- 48:06Speaker 1: Las Vegas, the son of former second overall pick Chuck
- 48:10Speaker 1: O'Bannon senior. He was a five star recruit coming out
- 48:12Speaker 1: of high school, played his first three years at USC
- 48:14Speaker 1: before transferring to TCU, and Chuck was awesome. You can
- 48:17Speaker 1: follow Chuck on Instagram at Chuck Breezy Underscore five or
- 48:21Speaker 1: you can go over to the twenty five busles page
- 48:22Speaker 1: and see his link up there and hit him up.
- 48:24Speaker 1: So here's our chat, our talk, our interview with TCU
- 48:27Speaker 1: fourward Chuck O'Bannon Junior. We often like to start the show.
- 48:31Speaker 1: It's saying exactly how tall we are and how many
- 48:32Speaker 1: times we've dunked in our life. Right, that's right, I'm so,
- 48:35Speaker 1: But you go first.
- 48:37Speaker 6: I'm six six, so I've probably dunked the ball about
- 48:40Speaker 6: a couple thousand times.
- 48:41Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, I'm like six one nuns zero times.
- 48:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm six zero on a good day. And I
- 48:46Speaker 1: did it one time with my friend.
- 48:47Speaker 7: He was like, no, that doesn't count if you jump
- 48:49Speaker 7: off somebody's Yeah, he was like.
- 48:50Speaker 1: On all fours and I jumped out.
- 48:51Speaker 7: It is awesome.
- 48:52Speaker 5: It was awesome.
- 48:53Speaker 2: But that's the one time and I didn't make that.
- 48:54Speaker 2: I didn't make it.
- 48:54Speaker 1: But what you jumped off and missed a dunk? Yeah,
- 48:57Speaker 1: I missed the bold in going? Were you so excited
- 48:59Speaker 1: that you were up the Oh? Did I still hung
- 49:02Speaker 1: on it? You know that's alsome.
- 49:03Speaker 7: I can get up there.
- 49:04Speaker 2: That's amazing.
- 49:04Speaker 7: That's lamb as athletes think that's lamb.
- 49:06Speaker 1: Right, yeah, you know, So when you're when you're a
- 49:10Speaker 1: five star out of high school and you're getting people
- 49:14Speaker 1: recruiting you, like, what is life like? Is it non
- 49:17Speaker 1: stop where you're celebrated everywhere you go because of basketball?
- 49:20Speaker 7: And is your is your mailbox full constantly?
- 49:24Speaker 4: A little bit of both. You know.
- 49:26Speaker 6: I grew up in Las Vegas, so it wasn't too
- 49:28Speaker 6: big of a basketball city, so I didn't give it
- 49:30Speaker 6: as much love as the rest of the five stars
- 49:32Speaker 6: across the country. But when you would travel, you know,
- 49:34Speaker 6: go to different terms and stuff like that, Like little
- 49:36Speaker 6: kids walk up to you like, oh, you're your chuck,
- 49:38Speaker 6: You're this, you're that. You know, you know, as a
- 49:40Speaker 6: high school kid, you know that's pretty cool to have.
- 49:42Speaker 4: So I enjoyed it we're in the arena.
- 49:43Speaker 1: Now, do you ever just hear like one annoying fan
- 49:47Speaker 1: that's against If it's not let's say you're playing, we'll
- 49:49Speaker 1: call him school.
- 49:50Speaker 7: See, it doesn't matter who it is. They just will
- 49:52Speaker 7: not shut up.
- 49:54Speaker 4: Yes, never at home, always on the rope.
- 49:56Speaker 7: It's like one fan that you just dialate, like, shut up, man.
- 50:00Speaker 4: You know what's crazy?
- 50:01Speaker 7: As usually as girls because their voices a little higher,
- 50:04Speaker 7: voices a little.
- 50:05Speaker 6: Higher, and they don't know what they're talking about sometimes,
- 50:07Speaker 6: you know, when it comes to basketball, at least you
- 50:09Speaker 6: know in student section, you know, so like they'll they'll
- 50:12Speaker 6: say some crazy things to us, you know, on the bench.
- 50:14Speaker 4: But it's probably.
- 50:15Speaker 1: Always say some mean stuff, like students probably go harder, yes,
- 50:19Speaker 1: harder than like the rich people that sit on the front. Right,
- 50:21Speaker 1: what's the what's the what's the meanest thing is students
- 50:25Speaker 1: ever like said against about TCU, not even not even
- 50:27Speaker 1: you specifically, but like, what's the thing the other schools
- 50:30Speaker 1: say about tc either tries to get another your skin.
- 50:31Speaker 4: I'm trying to think something that's appropriate.
- 50:33Speaker 7: Oh yeah, well I don't even about it. I don't
- 50:35Speaker 7: even worry about that.
- 50:36Speaker 6: I'll just say how you know, they'll put their God remarks,
- 50:39Speaker 6: you know, like what God, God loves us for free.
- 50:42Speaker 6: You know, they'll say stuff like that because we're at
- 50:44Speaker 6: Christian school. Yeah, that's that's their favorite thing.
- 50:47Speaker 1: What dude, that's just next level.
- 50:49Speaker 7: They punched that ticket right days double hockey six. Yeah,
- 50:51Speaker 7: they're doing that. How old were you the first time?
- 50:53Speaker 7: You don't, I was.
- 50:54Speaker 4: About thirteen, fourteen years old.
- 50:56Speaker 1: Wow, were you close for a long time before that
- 50:59Speaker 1: or did you grow so fast to get so strong
- 51:01Speaker 1: that it just kind of happened?
- 51:02Speaker 4: Oh okay, well it was about two year gap.
- 51:04Speaker 6: It was really hard for me to dunk, you know,
- 51:06Speaker 6: so I was able to squeeze one in, you know,
- 51:08Speaker 6: it was barely a dunk, and I didn't dunk again
- 51:10Speaker 6: for another two three months, and then I was able
- 51:12Speaker 6: to dunk with two hands about three months later.
- 51:14Speaker 4: And ever since then, you know, trying to do different
- 51:16Speaker 4: tricks and stuff like that.
- 51:17Speaker 7: Do you remember your first game dunk?
- 51:19Speaker 4: Yes? I do.
- 51:19Speaker 6: It was actually in Vegas at Finley Prep High School.
- 51:22Speaker 6: If you guys ever heard of that very protudi of
- 51:24Speaker 6: high school. But it was the showcase game. I would
- 51:27Speaker 6: believe I was the freshman in high school. I got
- 51:28Speaker 6: a steal at the belt right here right it's half court.
- 51:31Speaker 6: And yeah, when my dad got it on video, it
- 51:33Speaker 6: was pretty cool.
- 51:35Speaker 1: And do you remember that actual play, like can you
- 51:38Speaker 1: can you go back and actually remember you put the breakaway?
- 51:41Speaker 4: Not really, You've just.
- 51:42Speaker 7: Seen it so many times now, I've seen that video.
- 51:44Speaker 6: You know.
- 51:44Speaker 4: When I was fifteen, I watched that video one hundred times.
- 51:46Speaker 1: Fifteen crazy, you know. So I wish I was just
- 51:49Speaker 1: fifteen and a dunk. I wish I was twenty two
- 51:51Speaker 1: and a dunk. Yeah, I wish I was twenty two.
- 51:52Speaker 1: There's just a lot of a lot of things I
- 51:54Speaker 1: wish chef doesn't hurt, Like when you just jam that
- 51:58Speaker 1: ball end, does it hurt your wrist?
- 51:59Speaker 6: Is hurt your four sometimes? You know, But then a
- 52:03Speaker 6: lot of people don't know. You have to learn how
- 52:04Speaker 6: to dunk, you know. You have to even though if
- 52:06Speaker 6: you're away above the rim, you got to be able
- 52:08Speaker 6: to hit the rim with your hands, you know, because
- 52:09Speaker 6: it's real easy to get too high and then hurt
- 52:12Speaker 6: your forearm, you know, not you're sword the rest of
- 52:13Speaker 6: the game. You can't shoot right.
- 52:14Speaker 4: Stuff like that.
- 52:15Speaker 7: So you've done that, You've dunk so hard that you
- 52:17Speaker 7: hurt your arm.
- 52:18Speaker 6: Absolutely, get It happens all the time, you know, because
- 52:22Speaker 6: especially when you're trying to dunk on somebody, you're not
- 52:24Speaker 6: really thinking of it, you know, so then scrape your
- 52:26Speaker 6: whole forearm next you know, your bleed.
- 52:28Speaker 4: You need to get taped mid game stuff like that.
- 52:31Speaker 7: So what if you get dunked on? Can you can
- 52:34Speaker 7: you bounce back quick?
- 52:36Speaker 5: I could?
- 52:37Speaker 4: You know?
- 52:37Speaker 6: But it hurts as a man, your soul and your pride,
- 52:40Speaker 6: it hurts, you know. I hate to say. I got
- 52:42Speaker 6: dunked on for the first time ever in my life
- 52:44Speaker 6: last year in n Cuba tournament, and it was one
- 52:47Speaker 6: of those things you just got to act like it
- 52:48Speaker 6: didn't happen, you know, because like if your reaction is bad,
- 52:51Speaker 6: you know the whole crowd you're going to get exposed.
- 52:53Speaker 6: Instagram is one heck of a thing, now, you know.
- 52:55Speaker 6: It's it's the best situation if you don't take the
- 52:57Speaker 6: right way.
- 52:57Speaker 7: That video of him dunking on.
- 52:59Speaker 4: You a couple of times and I turn it off
- 53:00Speaker 4: every time every time.
- 53:03Speaker 7: What does it feel like to block?
- 53:04Speaker 6: Though I actually know him, we grew up together. He's
- 53:06Speaker 6: from Las Vegas, so it was a personal He is
- 53:08Speaker 6: it was very personal. It was very personal. It was
- 53:10Speaker 6: it was terrible, and we're talking crap to each.
- 53:13Speaker 4: Other the whole game.
- 53:14Speaker 6: You know, I'll be on the bench, I'll be He'll
- 53:15Speaker 6: be talking to me, or he'll be on the bench,
- 53:17Speaker 6: I'll be saying stuff to him.
- 53:18Speaker 4: And then but we won the game, so.
- 53:20Speaker 7: Like friendly crap or like half friendly crap half yeah,
- 53:24Speaker 7: but you guys won.
- 53:25Speaker 4: It was personal and we won, so you know, I
- 53:28Speaker 4: would rather take the win.
- 53:29Speaker 7: Were you guys recruited at the same time.
- 53:30Speaker 6: No, he's actually younger than me. I believe he was
- 53:32Speaker 6: a sophomore last year, got it, maybe a junior man.
- 53:35Speaker 6: And he dunked on you, he got me, but he
- 53:37Speaker 6: forgot about it.
- 53:38Speaker 5: He forgot that.
- 53:39Speaker 4: Yeah about that?
- 53:40Speaker 7: What about when you dunk on somebody you let him know?
- 53:43Speaker 5: Of course?
- 53:44Speaker 6: Of course, Well, you know some guys, it depends on
- 53:45Speaker 6: who it is. You know, some guys you know, like
- 53:47Speaker 6: you really want to dunk on them, and once you
- 53:49Speaker 6: do it, you're going to let them know. But then
- 53:51Speaker 6: you also have guys that you know, like you don't
- 53:53Speaker 6: want to bother them too much, you know, like I'll
- 53:55Speaker 6: just get back on defense.
- 53:57Speaker 7: How hard is it to watch your mouth though, like
- 53:58Speaker 7: with technicals and a lot, uh, it depends.
- 54:00Speaker 6: Like if you see a ref, you're not going to
- 54:02Speaker 6: say anything. But like sometimes you will make a play
- 54:03Speaker 6: and not see a ref and then you know, whatever
- 54:06Speaker 6: comes to your head. You say, you know with any expression,
- 54:09Speaker 6: how do you know when to not?
- 54:10Speaker 1: And I know what the rule says, but how do
- 54:12Speaker 1: you know and how do you judge when not to
- 54:13Speaker 1: hang on the rim right after you dunk and someone's
- 54:17Speaker 1: under you, or you can follow on, somebody can hold on,
- 54:19Speaker 1: But I mean it looks really cool to hold on,
- 54:22Speaker 1: so you want to hold on if you can't, Like
- 54:23Speaker 1: you ever get a tech for that?
- 54:24Speaker 7: Hanging out too long?
- 54:25Speaker 6: I did when I was younger. And but like the
- 54:27Speaker 6: thing is, you want to get off the rim as
- 54:28Speaker 6: quick as you can. You know, you want to get
- 54:30Speaker 6: back on defense. And you know, coaches another thing like
- 54:32Speaker 6: forget about the refs. Your coach sees you hanging on
- 54:35Speaker 6: a rim, get off the rim, little things like.
- 54:37Speaker 4: That, So I try not to.
- 54:40Speaker 7: How many balls do you think you put up a day?
- 54:43Speaker 4: Around four to five hundred? Round be four? Because I
- 54:46Speaker 4: work out. I was working out right before you guys
- 54:48Speaker 4: got here.
- 54:49Speaker 6: Actually, And so I'll work out in the morning every morning,
- 54:52Speaker 6: and then at practice, you know, and then I'll try
- 54:54Speaker 6: to go ahead nights, you know, before game stuff like that. Yeah,
- 54:57Speaker 6: depending on how hard my day was, I always try
- 54:59Speaker 6: to get back in gym, get up extra shots.
- 55:01Speaker 7: Do you ever work out after a game? No, not
- 55:03Speaker 7: after a game, even if it was.
- 55:05Speaker 5: A bad game.
- 55:06Speaker 4: Yeah, bad game, I'll be in the gym the next day.
- 55:08Speaker 5: You know.
- 55:09Speaker 4: I need to go home.
- 55:09Speaker 6: I need to watch film. I need to see why
- 55:11Speaker 6: I missed these shots, why I had a bad game.
- 55:13Speaker 6: You know, So I can't just say I play bad
- 55:15Speaker 6: and get to the gym. I need to see why,
- 55:17Speaker 6: you know, to see improvement.
- 55:19Speaker 1: Is there a typical reason that you might be off
- 55:23Speaker 1: that you can correct during a game? If I could
- 55:25Speaker 1: compare it to something like if I play golf, I
- 55:28Speaker 1: usually know I'm not turning my wrist.
- 55:29Speaker 7: That's what I do the most, is I don't flip.
- 55:31Speaker 5: My wrist over.
- 55:31Speaker 1: Is there something in your shot you're like, okay, oh man,
- 55:34Speaker 1: I'm not spreading my fingers far enough that you can
- 55:36Speaker 1: kind of correct, because you know that's usually the first
- 55:37Speaker 1: thing you do wrong.
- 55:38Speaker 4: Yes, for me, it's my elbow.
- 55:41Speaker 6: So like when I'll shoot sometimes when I get tired
- 55:43Speaker 6: in the game, my elbow will come out a little
- 55:45Speaker 6: bit to the right, and you know, it'll go sideways.
- 55:48Speaker 4: I'll shoot the ball go right, it'll go left, and.
- 55:50Speaker 6: I'll talk to my guys on the sideline and be
- 55:52Speaker 6: like yo, like put jailbow in, you know, get a
- 55:54Speaker 6: straight line, drive nice art, and hopefully make some more shots.
- 55:57Speaker 7: What's the most threes you ever made in a high
- 55:59Speaker 7: school game?
- 56:00Speaker 4: Probably eight or nine?
- 56:01Speaker 1: Oh god?
- 56:02Speaker 4: Seven? Eight? Nine? Yeah, like that, that's just a lot.
- 56:07Speaker 6: It was eight because I always used compete my dad mostly.
- 56:09Speaker 6: My dad ever made with seven, and I remember I
- 56:11Speaker 6: beat them by one the most dudes, I mean, the
- 56:13Speaker 6: game was eight.
- 56:13Speaker 1: Did you know as you were shooting at eighth in
- 56:16Speaker 1: the game in high school that you were beating your
- 56:17Speaker 1: dad seven?
- 56:19Speaker 6: Not really, I was trying to go for ten, you know,
- 56:21Speaker 6: so like I wasn't thinking about my dad made game.
- 56:24Speaker 6: But like you know, afterwards, my dad was like, I've
- 56:26Speaker 6: only ever made seven.
- 56:26Speaker 4: I was like, well, I made eight.
- 56:28Speaker 1: So you know, it's a rare ac combination for somebody
- 56:30Speaker 1: to block as many shots and also make as many
- 56:32Speaker 1: threes as you do. It shows the versatility if you're
- 56:36Speaker 1: thinking next level, where do you How does your game
- 56:38Speaker 1: translate to the next level.
- 56:40Speaker 6: I think my game translate better to the next level
- 56:42Speaker 6: as a professional basketball player rather than a college basketball player,
- 56:46Speaker 6: you know, just based off of how defense is, how
- 56:48Speaker 6: everything goes up and down, the pace of the game,
- 56:50Speaker 6: stuff like that, Like the was considered a good shot,
- 56:53Speaker 6: was considered a bad shot, you know, because it's it's
- 56:55Speaker 6: levels to it, you know. So yeah, I definitely see
- 56:58Speaker 6: myself translating to professional Do you feel better?
- 57:01Speaker 1: I bet that you played positionless basketball since you can
- 57:04Speaker 1: you can play. You basically play four four and a
- 57:07Speaker 1: half almost all five spots. Do you feel like you're
- 57:10Speaker 1: a positionless player?
- 57:11Speaker 6: I wouldn't say positionless, but I do feel like I
- 57:13Speaker 6: can do anything on the court, you know. I've just
- 57:15Speaker 6: been playing a game for so long, you know, I've
- 57:18Speaker 6: learned a lot, seen a lot, So I feel like
- 57:19Speaker 6: there's nothing on the court that I can't do.
- 57:21Speaker 4: Ever.
- 57:22Speaker 7: Hit a game winner? Share, what's the best one that
- 57:25Speaker 7: comes to mine? First?
- 57:28Speaker 6: I would say Baylor only because it's more recent, you know,
- 57:31Speaker 6: but there's still time on the clock, you know, Like
- 57:34Speaker 6: I like the game winners where you shoot and there's
- 57:36Speaker 6: nothing you can do when it's in the yeah, yeah,
- 57:38Speaker 6: and the game is over. You know, there's no more timeouts.
- 57:41Speaker 6: They don't get to take the ball out and throw
- 57:43Speaker 6: hill Mary. You know, I like the ones when you
- 57:45Speaker 6: shoot it and game. You know, those are the best
- 57:48Speaker 6: you have, any of those? Yes, I had a couple
- 57:50Speaker 6: in high school.
- 57:51Speaker 7: And are they like, all right, we gotta get we
- 57:53Speaker 7: canna check the ball? Is that is that always to play?
- 57:55Speaker 7: Like the whiteboard and it looks like he's drawing to play,
- 57:57Speaker 7: but really they're just writing your name.
- 58:00Speaker 6: We always working in practice, you know, like that's one
- 58:02Speaker 6: thing you guys got working in practice, last second situations,
- 58:04Speaker 6: you know. So, yeah, we had plays for it, so
- 58:06Speaker 6: we were ready. I was like coaching with the ball
- 58:08Speaker 6: right here. He was all right, so you guys come
- 58:09Speaker 6: here and set the screen and we'll go from there.
- 58:13Speaker 7: Have you have you always been tall? Yes, your dad's tall,
- 58:17Speaker 7: your uncle's tall, but not not always because he was
- 58:19Speaker 7: a baby once. I'm asking to come out of the
- 58:21Speaker 7: womb at like three foot two.
- 58:23Speaker 6: I've never had a gros spurt. Actually, I've never had
- 58:26Speaker 6: like a summer where I grew four inches. You know,
- 58:28Speaker 6: everything's been gradual, but I've always been long, you know,
- 58:31Speaker 6: I've always had tangibles.
- 58:32Speaker 7: So were you an excellent kid athlete?
- 58:35Speaker 4: I wouldn't say excellent. I was really goofy and clumsy.
- 58:38Speaker 5: You know.
- 58:38Speaker 4: I was the kid that you will see like running
- 58:40Speaker 4: and just fall over nothing.
- 58:41Speaker 7: You know, But that's because you haven't grown into your Yeah. Yeah,
- 58:44Speaker 7: it's like you though, So they still hope for you.
- 58:45Speaker 1: I have time, Yeah, just a few years.
- 58:47Speaker 7: We're clumsy too.
- 58:48Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 58:48Speaker 6: What's the hope this season? We want to go all
- 58:50Speaker 6: the way. You know, we made to the tournament. We're
- 58:52Speaker 6: fortunate though making the tournament past couple of years, and
- 58:54Speaker 6: we're trying to make it all the way. We feel
- 58:56Speaker 6: that we have the talent and the team to do so.
- 58:57Speaker 6: So that's to go as of right now.
- 59:00Speaker 7: What is your job as a leader on this team?
- 59:01Speaker 7: In your mind?
- 59:04Speaker 6: Showing my experience? You know, I've seen a lot, been
- 59:07Speaker 6: around a lot, you know, I just want to show
- 59:09Speaker 6: all the guys that, you know, I know what it takes.
- 59:10Speaker 6: I know what to do to an extent. You know,
- 59:12Speaker 6: I haven't been all the way there, but you know
- 59:14Speaker 6: I know what to change. You know, what our team
- 59:16Speaker 6: from last year could have done better stuff like that.
- 59:19Speaker 6: So I just want to be that role model to guys.
- 59:22Speaker 7: Just two more questions.
- 59:23Speaker 1: As someone who's been hurt before and had to actually
- 59:25Speaker 1: come back and here you are geting playing at a
- 59:27Speaker 1: high level. What would you tell somebody who is in
- 59:30Speaker 1: the middle of an injury right now and they're going
- 59:32Speaker 1: through the rehab and they may be a little confused,
- 59:33Speaker 1: just what's going to happen with them next?
- 59:34Speaker 6: All right, I'll just have to say, like, the best
- 59:38Speaker 6: is not now, you know, like, or yeah, the best
- 59:41Speaker 6: is coming, you know. So adversity, you know, everybody goes
- 59:44Speaker 6: through it. You know, for some people might be worse.
- 59:46Speaker 6: But I don't have to say, like the end is
- 59:49Speaker 6: not near.
- 59:50Speaker 2: Chuck, What does your body feel like after a game?
- 59:52Speaker 2: Because like Bones and I we played full court one
- 59:54Speaker 2: time and we couldn't move for two weeks afterwards, Like
- 59:56Speaker 2: what does it feel like? And that's the first part
- 59:59Speaker 2: the question. Second part of the question is overtime. When
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: it's overtime, are you like eat?
- 1:00:05Speaker 6: Okay, So after a game, my adrenaline is really high
- 1:00:10Speaker 6: for hours after the game. So say we have an
- 1:00:12Speaker 6: eight pm game, There's no way I'm going to sleep
- 1:00:14Speaker 6: four three am.
- 1:00:14Speaker 4: You know, it's like that.
- 1:00:15Speaker 6: So and I'm not going to feel anything till the
- 1:00:17Speaker 6: next morning. So you know, if I can need in
- 1:00:21Speaker 6: my thigh or you know, shoulder bruise anything like that,
- 1:00:23Speaker 6: I'm not going to feel it.
- 1:00:25Speaker 7: But next question, what you say overtime when it's overtime
- 1:00:28Speaker 7: and you're like, oh crap.
- 1:00:30Speaker 5: Not really.
- 1:00:30Speaker 6: It depends on the team, you know, it depends on
- 1:00:32Speaker 6: the team because it's like sometimes like you player, like
- 1:00:34Speaker 6: a really good team and you're like, oh, we got
- 1:00:36Speaker 6: five more minutes with these guys, like we need stops,
- 1:00:38Speaker 6: we need to do this, we need to do that.
- 1:00:39Speaker 6: And then sometimes you're happy because you were down and
- 1:00:42Speaker 6: you finally got that momentum, so it's like, okay, we
- 1:00:44Speaker 6: have five more minutes to like really beat these guys.
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:00:46Speaker 4: So it's just a love hate relationship with overtime.
- 1:00:49Speaker 7: But if you're tired or you're just like sometimes you
- 1:00:52Speaker 7: like I don't want to do this.
- 1:00:53Speaker 4: You're going to be tired.
- 1:00:54Speaker 6: But you know, when you're an arena with fifteen twenty
- 1:00:56Speaker 6: thousand people, you know some gets you. You know, some
- 1:00:59Speaker 6: wakes up and you ever get nervous in a game.
- 1:01:03Speaker 6: I would say a tip off at the beginning of
- 1:01:05Speaker 6: the game, but not during the game, you know, like
- 1:01:07Speaker 6: the game. Once the game starts, he starts swaying, give
- 1:01:09Speaker 6: a nice little flow. Then you know, I'm not too
- 1:01:12Speaker 6: nervous at all anymore.
- 1:01:13Speaker 7: If you missed two or three threes in a row,
- 1:01:14Speaker 7: are you ready to get back for that fourth or yes?
- 1:01:16Speaker 5: Yes?
- 1:01:17Speaker 6: Oh yeah, yes, you have to shoot yourself out of that.
- 1:01:19Speaker 6: You have to get out of that because another team
- 1:01:21Speaker 6: could take advantage of that, and you know if yeah,
- 1:01:24Speaker 6: that could be a bad situation. I'll have to learn
- 1:01:27Speaker 6: that the hard way.
- 1:01:27Speaker 7: All right, final question, who's the badest dude you played?
- 1:01:30Speaker 5: Wow?
- 1:01:33Speaker 4: Played against?
- 1:01:33Speaker 5: Yep?
- 1:01:35Speaker 6: I would say Ben Simmons when I was in high school.
- 1:01:37Speaker 6: He was a senior in my sophomore year, and he
- 1:01:40Speaker 6: gave us a forty point triple double.
- 1:01:42Speaker 7: You run a point at like six whatever the case.
- 1:01:45Speaker 4: Yes, yes, he looks the exact same.
- 1:01:48Speaker 6: He looks exact same, gives forty point triple double on
- 1:01:51Speaker 6: ESPN in high school on TV, on TV in front
- 1:01:54Speaker 6: of everybody.
- 1:01:55Speaker 7: Yeah, how much you get to play that game?
- 1:01:57Speaker 6: I played pretty good that game, actually I played. I
- 1:01:59Speaker 6: had about twin points myself.
- 1:02:00Speaker 7: Did you guard him.
- 1:02:01Speaker 4: I did not. I did not.
- 1:02:02Speaker 6: We actually had Chase Jeter and Steven Zimmerman, who were
- 1:02:05Speaker 6: two top ten big men. Yeah, they were really good
- 1:02:09Speaker 6: McDonald's Americans. And oh we also had Zach Collins on
- 1:02:11Speaker 6: that team. He plays for the Antonio Spurs. So yeah,
- 1:02:14Speaker 6: we had we had some people for it. Ben Simmons
- 1:02:17Speaker 6: and I was dealing with the guards and.
- 1:02:18Speaker 7: Sounds like we have many for Bens.
- 1:02:20Speaker 4: We did it.
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: We did.
- 1:02:20Speaker 4: We thought we did. We thought we did at the time,
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: but we didn't.
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: We appreciate your time absolutely. I hope you guys have
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: a great season. I'm looking forward to what final, final,
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: final question?
- 1:02:29Speaker 7: What's coach? What's coach like Coach Dixon.
- 1:02:31Speaker 4: Yeah, he's intense. He's intense. Never seen anybody like him
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: ever in my life.
- 1:02:35Speaker 7: But you know, is he ever not intents?
- 1:02:37Speaker 4: No, never never. Well, maybe we catch him the office
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: right now, he might not be in take that.
- 1:02:43Speaker 6: Maybe you know it were lucky, but as soon as
- 1:02:46Speaker 6: he comes down here for practice for games.
- 1:02:47Speaker 4: See, he's intense at all times.
- 1:02:49Speaker 7: And I appreciate that.
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: Okay, that's gonna do it for us. Read are you okay? Buddy?
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: I shredded too hard man too hard, shredded.
- 1:03:02Speaker 4: The snow.
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: So you didn't go skiing, you just shredded it here?
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:03:06Speaker 10: Yeah, so yeah here, And I used a makeshift uh sled.
- 1:03:11Speaker 10: It was a box, a box, Yeah, it was a box.
- 1:03:14Speaker 10: And uh, I'm pretty sure I broke my neck in
- 1:03:17Speaker 10: that in that feet, I'd like, this is this is
- 1:03:19Speaker 10: as far as I can move it.
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: You wiped out hard? Yeah?
- 1:03:23Speaker 10: It did it hurt right then? Or did it hurt
- 1:03:24Speaker 10: like six hours later? Definitely six hours later? Like it,
- 1:03:27Speaker 10: I didn't even feel it. And then the golf course
- 1:03:30Speaker 10: we live on, there's a massive hill that everybody has
- 1:03:33Speaker 10: been going to and they built like a four foot
- 1:03:36Speaker 10: ramp and uh that also messed me in my roommate
- 1:03:40Speaker 10: up pretty bad.
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: But I mean we had to do it. I couldn't
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: couldn't miss that opportunity. Why are you talking like a
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: skater like you know, do you have a concussion? It
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: sounds like hospital.
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: Yeah, had to hit the slopes man.
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: So was it hard to drive? No, No, it wasn't
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: hard to drive.
- 1:03:56Speaker 4: It wasn't too bad.
- 1:03:57Speaker 10: I don't look both ways anyways.
- 1:03:59Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: Good, but you're not injured, You're just hurt. Yeah, I'm
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: just hurt.
- 1:04:02Speaker 7: I'm not injured.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: Yeah, it's just just severe soreness.
- 1:04:07Speaker 4: But but I'm good.
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: You know, I'm ready for the next one. Al Right,
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: big weekend. I hope Lamar comes out uninjured and they
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: win the game. That's the plan, because let's say they
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: win the game and he comes out injured. That sucks,
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: so because the next time it's not gonna be good.
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: And the fact that he survived all year this is
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: pretty cool. It's like your favorite person on Survivor make
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: it to the final episode almost odds already made it, No,
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: but now they are, and you're like, let's go, dude,
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: this could be the year of the underdogs. If Green
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: Bay wins, if Texas wins, if Tampa wins, Yeah, the
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: Lions which one underdog? Well, but Tampa and the Lions
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: are playing each other. Okay, so let's just give Lions
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: because I don't think Tampa will win without that one.
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: The Lions have to win. Do that's the story? What's
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: the one underdog you want to see win this week?
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: The Lions and are an underdog this week?
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: What do you mean? No, they're underdog in just the season, Like,
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: you know, we didn't think of the favorite this week?
- 1:05:00Speaker 7: Yeah there.
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: Yeah, Okay, so then the Texans. I want the Texans
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: to go. Okay, Kevin, that's don't say Package.
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: No, I'm not gonna say the Packers. I'll go Texans.
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: I'm gonna say Packers. It would be hilarious.
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: It would be a jerk.
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: You're being a jerk, But wouldn't that make you feel better?
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: Hilarious loves Packers freaking go to the NFC and in
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: the Super Bowl, and then.
- 1:05:25Speaker 7: That would be wild and it opened the door up
- 1:05:27Speaker 7: for the Lions.
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: Sure make it a little more easier for them, right
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: because I'm on the A sect, Baltimore hopefully beat Texas
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: and then you can't city Buffalo. That's gonna be a
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: good one.
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: I want to say Buffalo, but technically they're not there,
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: you know, which is yeah?
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: All right, thank you guys. We'll see you next week. Eddie,
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: we have to sign this football.
- 1:05:48Speaker 4: We Oh.
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: By the way, if you deflay, a football is so
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: easy to catch and throw. If I were playing Super Bowls, I'd.
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: Flay on like exactly.
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: It helped me win games for sure.
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: You want it like a sponge.
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like so easy. It's like soft in my hands.
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: I've never heard of anyone doing that, but they should though.
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: If they do, for sure the.
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: Coaches for the Falcons maybe yeah, maybe yeah.
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: I told somebody who commented in our last too much access,
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: we'd sign a ball and send it to them. Okay,
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: but it's basketball. Too much access? But on basketball we
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: only have football. Oh but that's not who cares, right,
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: it's it's a ball. It's a ball, it's a ball. Cool.
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: Do we need to write like a cool message on there.
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: To blow the whistle start the day show?
- 1:06:20Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: Yeah, we did.
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: Yeah, we did it, all right, blow it to close
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: it and we'll write on it.
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: Man, you got I'm gonna write a message like keep
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: on hooping, you know what I mean?
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: No, not on football?
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: Oh okay, you go, all.
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: Right, We'll see you guys next week.
- 1:06:31Speaker 5: By
