- 0:06Hello. What's your least favorite scary
- 0:08movie? Mac and Gobachaka, welcome to
- 0:13what's your least favorite scary movie?
- 0:16The Podcaster. We talk about the good, the bad,
- 0:18the ugly, and the absurd in all of our favorite.
- 0:21And least favorite? Scary movies.
- 0:23Because we believe every horror movie rightfully has its
- 0:25fanbase, even. If we don't, I always get it.
- 0:27My name is Travis. My name is Jesse and happy
- 0:30Thanksgiving. Sorry, started off with a heart
- 0:33expletive. Or maybe not.
- 0:35Honestly, if you're a returning customer, you know what's up.
- 0:38If you're new and you were looking for a wholesome
- 0:40Thanksgiving podcast hobby. Gobble, gobble, motherfucker.
- 0:44We're not on the coffee today, we're on the beer.
- 0:46So it might get even more violent.
- 0:47I'm on steroids though. That's even more, yeah, more
- 0:51high risk. Not like the bodybuilding
- 0:52steroids, but like the my body was betraying me kind of
- 0:56steroids and they are fucking me up so badly so.
- 1:00It's fine, yeah. OK, OK, OK, announcements.
- 1:05We'll start with announcements, so Patreon bonus episode, if
- 1:09it's not out already, for our budget tier patrons, it will be
- 1:14out this weekend. Yeah, also budget tier patrons.
- 1:17You should have already voted by now, but you still have a little
- 1:20bit of a window to vote for the December pick.
- 1:23Yeah. OK, we're getting Holly and
- 1:26Jolly. That's right up in this piece.
- 1:28Got a couple of holiday themed movies up there for y'all to
- 1:31choose from, yes? So very excited.
- 1:37That's it for announcements. So it's time for poll.
- 1:39Yeah, 'cause we remembered to do a poll.
- 1:41Actually, Jesse remembered to do a poll.
- 1:43That's true. Yeah.
- 1:44But you know what does is 2A streak or is it 3 when it
- 1:47becomes a streak? Either way, we've done it two
- 1:50weeks in a row and I'm, I'm fucking riding high on that.
- 1:53So yeah, we did our poll on Curse of Chucky last week and
- 1:58just wanted to say or I guess check and see if you guys dig
- 2:03the new look of Chucky and Curse of Chucky.
- 2:07So. Or is it all chucked up?
- 2:09Yeah, those steroids are really fucking you up to OK.
- 2:14So 21% of people say it works, 79 says they don't care for it.
- 2:20I need to talk to 21% of you. I just really want to hear your
- 2:23perspective on things. Some people do.
- 2:25I've seen people say that they do like the look of it.
- 2:28I know and I I want to understand their perspective on
- 2:30things. Yeah, I do too.
- 2:31I mean, I, I, you know, subjective, it's for, you know,
- 2:37he looks different in the TV show too.
- 2:39But you know what? I really like that look.
- 2:40I love the TV show look. That's one of my favorite Chucky
- 2:43looks. So, you know, doesn't have to
- 2:45always be the original, but I just, for me, I don't really
- 2:48like it. Yeah, but we covered that pretty
- 2:51extensively in our episode. So if you want to know our
- 2:55thoughts on that, go listen to our Cursor Chucky episode from
- 2:57last. Time.
- 2:58Yeah, OK. All right, so that's it for
- 3:00that. So let's get into some
- 3:02Thanksgiving. Yay.
- 3:04OK, has they say in the trailer, you gotta get really cautioned,
- 3:11OK. We're not talking about the
- 3:17trailer, we're talking about the Bull movie.
- 3:22It premiered November 17th, 2023.
- 3:26We watched it on blah blah blah blah.
- 3:28Blah. Because the only other option
- 3:31for streaming is Netflix and we don't have the bougie tier where
- 3:35you can watch just any old thing on Netflix because they
- 3:39gatekeep. Now go on and girl boss the
- 3:42gaslight. While you're at it, you can rent
- 3:44it on Prime, Google Play, YouTube, or Fandango at home.
- 3:48For you, for your Blu-ray home video collectors out there, it's
- 3:51a really good release. It is, yeah.
- 3:54It's actually, it's fucking solid trailers on it, too.
- 3:57They're just like played automatically.
- 3:58At first I thought like that the home screen was gonna be the
- 4:02fake trailer and I was like, wow.
- 4:04That would have been awesome if they did that.
- 4:06I'm kind of sad that they didn't now that you said that.
- 4:10Well, it was still really good. It was really worth it.
- 4:12We've got some interesting things to talk about thanks to
- 4:15that stuff. So written by Jeff Rendell and
- 4:18Eli Roth, directed by Eli Roth, music by Brandon Roberts.
- 4:22Special effects makeups and prosthetics were designed by
- 4:25Adrian Moreau and Steve Newburn. Adrian Moreau did the
- 4:29prosthetics and Steve Newburn did the makeup.
- 4:32Who was the person in the? Adrian.
- 4:35Moreau OK, that fucking person's killer.
- 4:38I love him. He was amazing.
- 4:41I made a lot of notes about him specifically.
- 4:43Well, I say a lot of notes. I don't make a ton of notes.
- 4:45From that or from the movie? You love his work or you loved
- 4:49his featurette. I loved his featurette.
- 4:51OK, yeah, I mean, I loved his work too, obviously, but it's
- 4:53nice to see the nerd behind the art.
- 4:55Always above that, yeah, it's nice.
- 4:58OK, starring Patrick Dempsey as Sheriff Eric Newlin, Karen
- 5:02Kleish as Kathleen Nelverlak as Jessica Wright, Rick Hoffman as
- 5:07Thomas Wright, Jalen Thomas Brooks is Bobby Addison, Ray is
- 5:12Gabby, Jenna Warren as Yulia, Gabriel Davenport is Scuba,
- 5:17Tommaso Cinelli as Evan Fletcher, Milo Mannheim as Ryan
- 5:22and Tonic as Dewey. You got the cat?
- 5:28Yeah. What if his name was David
- 5:32Arquette? So actually, and I don't know,
- 5:37this was on the IMDb trivia section so grain of salt, but
- 5:42there are reports that the cat actor was so impressive to Eli
- 5:45Roth that he nicknamed it Leonardo DiCaprio.
- 5:48I love that. That's.
- 5:51Sweet. OK, Chaos.
- 5:53Yeah, time for our favorite game.
- 5:54Budget or bug, Ted? This feels budget.
- 6:01It is, in fact Budget 15,000,000 to be approximate.
- 6:06That's really good. That's a good budget.
- 6:08That's. Healthy.
- 6:09Yeah, opening box office of 10 million and a worldwide gross of
- 6:1246,000,000. So it can in fact be considered
- 6:15profitable. Awesome IMDb score of 6.2 out of
- 6:1810. Good.
- 6:19I'm glad that's got a good rating.
- 6:22I pulled 3 movies from 2023. OK.
- 6:26The theme is Boo capitalism. Boo capitalism.
- 6:30Boo urns. Boo urns.
- 6:34So the first movie Infinity Pool.
- 6:36OK, which we've. Talked about that.
- 6:39What's the capitalism amount? I mean those rich assholes just
- 6:42throwing their money at all their problems.
- 6:44Oh yeah, I forgot that. They just buy lives.
- 6:46Yeah, yeah, that's right. I forgot about that.
- 6:49So that premiered January 27th, 2023.
- 6:52I don't have a budget, but I have a worldwide gross of four
- 6:54point 5.2 million and an IMDb score of 6.0 out of 10.
- 6:59That's got a six. Damn, do you?
- 7:02Mean damn in a good or a bad way?
- 7:05I'm mixed on that one, I know. If you wanna hear all of
- 7:08Travis's mixed opinions on it, you can listen to that episode.
- 7:12We've covered it. It's not controversial to be
- 7:14mixed on that one. I know it's not saying it is.
- 7:17Yeah. But I feel like I, I see a lot
- 7:20of like overwhelming positivity for that movie out there and.
- 7:23I personally love it. Yeah, I know it, it has its
- 7:27moments. It's it's, it's got its
- 7:29strengths. It's also got its weaknesses.
- 7:32I introduced one of our friends to the phrase pretentious little
- 7:35sad boy when referring to Skarsgard's character and he's
- 7:37like, you know what? Never heard that before, but
- 7:40it's accurate now. I know.
- 7:42He is a sad boy. Yeah, second movie.
- 7:46It's a wonderful knife. Oh yeah, I remember the
- 7:49capitalism for that one. It's Justin Long, you fucking
- 7:51asshole. There he is in horror movies.
- 7:54Justin Long, Justin longing. Yeah, trying to buy Christmas
- 8:00some shit like that. That released December 1st,
- 8:032023. Again, I don't have a budget,
- 8:05but I have a gross of 1.3 million and an IMDb score of
- 8:105.2. That was a small release.
- 8:12It was a small release. Very, very limited.
- 8:15I am very excited to revisit that movie this year.
- 8:17Yeah, it was a fun movie. I liked it.
- 8:19I remember having a good time with it.
- 8:20Yeah, and then finally saw X. Or saw X.
- 8:26Oh yeah, the doctor. Yeah, fuck her.
- 8:30That released September 29th, 2023.
- 8:33Budget of 13 million and a worldwide gross of 112 million.
- 8:37Nice IMDb score of 6.6 out of 10.
- 8:41Dude I'm glad that the Saw movies just continue to just
- 8:44fucking dominate when they release.
- 8:46They're always like, oh, what up, bitches?
- 8:48Yeah, what's so up? You know Tobin Bell.
- 8:51It's gonna be. Yeah, Costas is here too.
- 8:54When I say Costas, you say Mandalore Costas.
- 8:58Rico Costas Rico. All right, we're moving on to
- 9:02tag lines. There will be no leftovers.
- 9:09That's it. That's.
- 9:13The only one is that. The seriously, Huh.
- 9:16You know, I mean, I like it, but I I'm surprised that they didn't
- 9:20do any others. I'm gonna say though, it was
- 9:22really funny when I posted, like you know the thing I posted
- 9:26where to watch? I couldn't fit the date above
- 9:30the tagline on the poster, so it's underneath.
- 9:32So it says there will be no leftovers on November 28th.
- 9:36So it's like. Nobody's getting leftovers from
- 9:39Thanksgiving this year. That's.
- 9:41Good. OK, I have some fun facts.
- 9:44OK. So Eli and Jeff are actually
- 9:47childhood friends. You're up in Massachusetts where
- 9:50Thanksgiving is a huge fucking deal.
- 9:52And also, Eli may or may not have been a tiny little
- 9:54sociopath that was always pretending to kill his brother
- 9:56with his stolen camera from his father.
- 9:58That's. What you do, that's what you do.
- 10:00Yeah, Yeah. I respect it.
- 10:03Yeah, I respect it. So what I'm saying, though, is
- 10:06that they've been planning demented shit since they were
- 10:09young. Oh yeah, Riding it out and
- 10:11shooting it and whatnot. And then in 2007 they did that
- 10:14fake trailer for Grindhouse and basically this has been in
- 10:20production since. I'm glad that that's a thing
- 10:23that they continued to try and do because I remember when that
- 10:26first came out, everybody's like, I want to fucking see that
- 10:28movie. He's like, I'm trying to make
- 10:29this fucking movie. Yeah.
- 10:31And then they like, it was a decade later and you hadn't
- 10:33heard anything. And then finally, yeah, I'm so
- 10:36glad that we got it. Yeah.
- 10:37Also if you want to see those home movies that he did, they've
- 10:40got a couple of them on the Blu-ray release, if you get
- 10:42that. So.
- 10:44So very much Eli Roth has a philosophy of making a movie he
- 10:49wants to see. That is his sole focus.
- 10:52He's like, what kind of twisted, sick shit would I want to watch?
- 10:57And that's what he makes. And what I said that I really
- 11:00liked about Adrian Moreau, he has the same kind of philosophy
- 11:04with special effects because he's like, well, this is my job,
- 11:06but it's also my hobby. You know, It's like, I'll just
- 11:08be sitting at home and I'll just be playing around with stuff.
- 11:10And, you know, I think about, like, what kind of gross effects
- 11:12would I want to see? And I would have put that on
- 11:14screen. And Eli's the same way, Yeah.
- 11:16I like to say he's like, you know what, The things that he
- 11:17was asking me to do in this movie I would be doing at home
- 11:19anyway. So yeah, I also, I love the
- 11:22other approach because I mean, I feel like everybody should be
- 11:24making things that they want to. I hate that there are people out
- 11:27there that just do shit just for the sake of doing a movie to try
- 11:31and make money. Yeah, make the shit that you
- 11:32want. Yes, and I think that it
- 11:35definitely paid off if you have the same kind of sensibilities
- 11:39as him when it comes to horror. Yeah.
- 11:42So that being said, the effects were practical and a lot of the
- 11:46cast were saying like, no, he like he was so good that you
- 11:49didn't need to add anything else.
- 11:51There were some shots in here that actually surprised me that
- 11:54I thought were digital whenever. And then we saw that featurette
- 11:57and I'm like, oh shit, that was real.
- 11:58Yeah, You could see some of the stuff that was like happening as
- 12:01it was happening. And it was kind of interesting
- 12:03to see, like the one scene where he cuts off the guy's head in
- 12:08the apartment. Like you can see the head being
- 12:11yanked away front with a. Yeah, that was good.
- 12:14The one that really surprised me was the one where the woman gets
- 12:18cut in half with the dumpster. Oh yeah.
- 12:21Because I thought that that was digitally done, but then I saw
- 12:24like there was an outtake of it fucking up.
- 12:26Yeah, the car hit it and it took way too long, Yeah, to close.
- 12:30Yeah, that and also Evan's head when he's getting it smashed.
- 12:33Yeah, that was the fucking actual real dummy head of him.
- 12:37Yeah. It was really well made.
- 12:39Yes, this was shot in Ontario from March 13th to May 5th,
- 12:442023. And guess what?
- 12:47Good news, a sequel has already been greenlit.
- 12:49Yay. The final script was ready in
- 12:51August 2024 and they're planning for a 2025 release date.
- 12:55So far, Nel Verlac, Rick Hoffman and Addison Ray are all rumoured
- 13:01to be returning. Alright, who is who from that
- 13:03again? Jessica Thomas and Gabby.
- 13:06Fuck, yeah. OK, yeah, Thomas, his actor
- 13:08Rick, yes, he is like a frequent collaborator.
- 13:11I think he was in one of the hostile movies.
- 13:13He. Was in the first one who was the
- 13:14one who that burns the girl's face cuz he was like should I
- 13:17just go in there should I just. Shoot.
- 13:18Her or Yeah, Yeah, yeah, yeah, you're right.
- 13:21Yeah. It's got a very distinct face.
- 13:23Yes. Hard to forget.
- 13:24Yes, very much. It's actually weird.
- 13:26His IMDb profile page right now, he doesn't have the mustache or
- 13:30any facial hair or any head hair.
- 13:33It's different. I mean he didn't have the
- 13:36mustache in hostel either. I just feel like he looks
- 13:38different though. He looks different now but also
- 13:41it's been how many years since hostel came out Maybe like.
- 13:44Two decades, but yeah. Yeah.
- 13:48OK, I have this really cool quote that actually popped up in
- 13:52my memories that I shared around the time this came out last
- 13:55year, so. Interesting.
- 13:57I think that's fun. Let me pull it up.
- 14:02This is a quote that he gave to Total Film.
- 14:06When I'm watching Alien, I don't care about the crew.
- 14:09I'm watching Jones the cat. I don't care if everybody dies,
- 14:11as long as that cat gets off the ship and away from that alien.
- 14:15So I like that little quote and it explains that scene very,
- 14:19very well. Oh my.
- 14:19God I fuck it. That's one of my favorite scenes
- 14:22with the cat, Dewey and this. It's amazing.
- 14:24When that happened in the theater, I lost my shit.
- 14:26Yeah, cuz like we were all sitting there going on.
- 14:29Love the cat. Yeah, it feeds him like, yeah.
- 14:34And then the rest I have. So there were a lot of deleted
- 14:37scenes. Some of them were just extended,
- 14:40some of them were alternate cuts, but I wrote down some of
- 14:43the ones that I felt like really added some pieces that like
- 14:46maybe necessarily weren't missing from the final product
- 14:49of the movie, but does give a little bit fleshes out the
- 14:52character some. So the first one is that Jessica
- 14:57and Evan, they stole a card from the back of Mitch's van and they
- 15:01gave it to Eric because the handwriting on the card looked
- 15:05very similar to the place writings on the dinner.
- 15:10Dinner table sets, Place settings, Place settings.
- 15:14Also he had the mask and the hat in his van also.
- 15:19Yeah, So she she gives that to him.
- 15:20She's like, hey, this looks similar.
- 15:22He goes, OK, cool. I will, you know, have a
- 15:24handwriting analyst look at it. And later he even makes a point
- 15:28of being like, Yep, the handwriting's a perfect match.
- 15:31But guess what? I lit it up or No, he did very
- 15:34cheesy dialogue and I loved it. He was like the handwriting was
- 15:36a very perfect match, much like the one I used to burn up the
- 15:39card the second like you left my office.
- 15:42That also led to him being interrogated too, which I think
- 15:45was an extended or all deleted scene at least.
- 15:48Yes. I don't think that that was
- 15:50that's not an actual movie. Yes.
- 15:51And that I, that was the next one I was gonna bring.
- 15:54So they're at Mitch's house because between the card and
- 15:58there was like a blotter at the the John Carver Museum thing
- 16:03with his name written in. So they go to question Mitch
- 16:06about all of this, and he kind of confronts him.
- 16:10It was like, you know, when Lisa left you, you slept on our couch
- 16:13for months. Like we were always there for
- 16:16you. But then Amanda dies and I've
- 16:17seen you three times and one of them is right now.
- 16:21And so they have like a little bit of back and forth and it
- 16:23really kind of fleshes out the deterioration of their
- 16:26relationship and kind of sets that groundwork for the ultimate
- 16:30reveal of who the killer is and what the motive is.
- 16:34So I think that was that is the one thing that I think I would
- 16:39have liked to see left in, just because I feel like Mitch really
- 16:42kind of gets forgotten about through most of the movie.
- 16:45Yeah, also during that, I mean, not like it's super important,
- 16:48but there's a whole character that's cut out.
- 16:50It's this the guy that has the book?
- 16:52There, Yeah, the like museum curator person.
- 16:54If if I were him and I went to go watch that movie, I would be
- 16:58pissed. Yeah.
- 16:59Like my my scenes, I'm uncut entirely from the movie.
- 17:02I like he guided that whole thing.
- 17:05I know he even knew the tunnels. Yeah, he he told them how to get
- 17:08to the tunnels. And then he's cut.
- 17:12Little guy and then finally we have Gabby pep talking Evan.
- 17:18So after the game against Hanover is cancelled, at first
- 17:21he's like saying that he's really upset because this is
- 17:23where college scouts come out and it was very important.
- 17:26And then he kind of has like this break cuz this whole time
- 17:29he's been this like really like brutish type, right?
- 17:33And then he's finally like, you know, this, I feel like this is
- 17:36my fault because I put that video up and the people that
- 17:38were in that video are the ones that are dying like, and you
- 17:41finally see him like have some self-awareness, which I think
- 17:45was a nice moment. And also you get a little bit of
- 17:48insight to his and Gabby's relationship because she like
- 17:53for a minute she's like, hey, you're fine.
- 17:55And she goes, OK, stop being a pussy.
- 17:58We're gonna go to the locker room, I'm gonna give you a
- 17:59handy, and we're gonna walk out of here.
- 18:01The cops are here for us like. Yep.
- 18:03So. And also extends the scene with
- 18:07them getting captured because in the actual movie it just cuts to
- 18:10him getting him and then it cuts to black.
- 18:13But here you just actually see him knock them out and then push
- 18:15her up against the wall and put her in like a container.
- 18:17Yeah, he puts her in the, like, laundry container, which I think
- 18:20would have made the reveal of her phone later, but a little
- 18:22bit more dramatic. So we'd be like, oh shit, her
- 18:24body's in there, but it actually is.
- 18:26And it's just. Yeah, yeah, that would have been
- 18:28interesting. So that's all I have, by the
- 18:31way, of fun facts. Which means that it is time for
- 18:33our fun facts, which are really just fun opinions in our good,
- 18:37bad, ugly and absurd. Yay.
- 18:39OK, so I guess I've started since you did all that.
- 18:42Indeed all. Right.
- 18:43Well, I I fucking love this movie.
- 18:47This movie is such a nice little throwback to all of the slashers
- 18:51that I love. It pays homage to Halloween in a
- 18:55big way. There's so many scenes that are
- 18:57just straight up from Halloween. It's really interesting.
- 19:02Also, like another thing I guess that you didn't touch on from
- 19:05your fun facts, but I like the way that they handled this.
- 19:08And he says that the way that he approached this is that it's a
- 19:12remake. Somebody doing a studio remake
- 19:15of that trailer of that movie. The the story behind this, I
- 19:22guess kind of in universe, if you're buying into the story
- 19:25that was planted from there, that movie is long lost, can't
- 19:28be found. That's just you have the trailer
- 19:31and that's it. So this is somebody doing a
- 19:34remake of it. So I think that that's kind of
- 19:37cool. Yeah.
- 19:38And once you notice or, you know, that you can kind of pick
- 19:41up on how he kind of handled and approached this movie because
- 19:46you get some moments from those scenes, but they're a little bit
- 19:50altered. Yeah.
- 19:51But they're also like the exactly the same.
- 19:54Yeah, it's like the cheerleader scene, like it's still very
- 19:57brutal and vicious, but it's a little less NC 17.
- 20:02Yeah, and also with the parade, Like, you see, the person in the
- 20:07Turkey costume still get their head chopped off, but it's not
- 20:10in the Pilgrim outfit this time. Because if you watch the trailer
- 20:13and you're looking for that, you're going to expect that.
- 20:15But it's the fucking clown, yes, Which I think is a really cool
- 20:19diversion. Yes, absolutely.
- 20:22So yeah, I mean, that was awesome.
- 20:24I like the killer a lot. I you know, if you're doing a
- 20:29Thanksgiving inspired movie, it's it would be kind of
- 20:33difficult to pick exactly who the killer would be if you're
- 20:37trying to keep it in theme. I love it because it feels like
- 20:40the joke would be like, oh, you're gonna do a Thanksgiving
- 20:43horror movie? Who's the bad guy?
- 20:44It's gonna be? Is it gonna be a Turkey?
- 20:46Is it gonna be a Pilgrim? And I love that he just leaned
- 20:49right the fuck into it. Cuz that's, again, that's the
- 20:51type of movie that Eli Roth likes.
- 20:54Exactly. Yeah.
- 20:55Also, like you said before, he grew up there.
- 20:57So he's like, yes, so in tune with the history of the whole
- 21:01holiday and how people celebrate there.
- 21:03They go hard. He probably knows the historical
- 21:05figures. John Carver, not on my radar,
- 21:08But you know what? I like him as a killer.
- 21:11Yeah, as like a killer icon in here.
- 21:12The little mask is cool, too. Yeah.
- 21:15The opening to this movie is fantastic.
- 21:17Sets the tone perfectly. Yes.
- 21:19I like that they include some Black Friday action in there,
- 21:22too. And, yeah, I mean, that's pretty
- 21:25much it. Like, I just.
- 21:27This movie's awesome. I love it.
- 21:30Yes, so I, there are a lot of things in this that I love that
- 21:35cold open with the, the Black Friday Stampede, I think is just
- 21:40absolutely excellent because those videos are some of the
- 21:45scariest shit for me to watch on YouTube.
- 21:47Yeah, and Travis will tell you that's how we spend a lot of our
- 21:49free time is just watching scary shit on YouTube.
- 21:51But watching Black Friday Stampedes, it scares the hell
- 21:55out of me because nothing is worse than like an out of
- 21:59control crowd. And I think that was such a good
- 22:02way to start this off. And it really juxtaposes the
- 22:04whole thing about like, oh, Thanksgiving supposed to be
- 22:06about thanks fullness. But we have like all of this
- 22:08going on. But it's also uncovering some of
- 22:10the like the grosser details of our intimate relationships,
- 22:16right, 'cause like, he wasn't actually upset about all of the
- 22:20loss of life. He was upset about the loss of
- 22:23Juna Gershon, just her, you know, and, and, and because he
- 22:27was helping her cheat on her husband.
- 22:30And that's like icky and gross. And we've got.
- 22:33Were they cheating? Yeah, I think that his she was.
- 22:35Pregnant with his baby. Oh, right, right, right.
- 22:38Yeah, yeah. Poof, man.
- 22:40Yeah. I like how that sorry, I was
- 22:46going to say I just like how that was basically the worst
- 22:49possible way that that could have went down that we see there
- 22:53yes, like you see some of these people die some of the most
- 22:56visceral deaths. Yes, the guy getting his neck
- 22:58cut on the blow eye broken glass Shard.
- 23:01And he's still wandering over to that pallet to grab the last.
- 23:04Waffle iron that it's the first one, but like that one just gets
- 23:07me because like he's not able to control.
- 23:10He's being pushed in by the crowd and it just Nixon, he
- 23:12can't control his path. Also, I'm just gonna say this.
- 23:16That's not even like the fancy hotel flippy Belgian waffle iron
- 23:19type. It is a standard waffle iron.
- 23:21You can get one for $20. It was not worth all of this.
- 23:25Yeah, like I think we have the same waffle iron.
- 23:28Yeah, also the thing with Amanda, when the buggy hits her
- 23:31head and then it gets stuck to her hair and just pulls a chunk
- 23:35of her scalp. Also, yeah, if he's gonna be
- 23:37that mad about it, just take it out on Lizzie.
- 23:40That was her cart and if you'll notice, Lizzie is the only one
- 23:44that got the like a truly symbolic death because she got
- 23:48frozen to the freezer door and had her face ripped off.
- 23:52I that felt the most vengeful in that way.
- 23:57Yeah, I could see that, yeah. And then also, if you think
- 23:59about it, the only other one that really gets as brutal is
- 24:02Kathleen's. She's the one that deleted the
- 24:04videotapes that prevented any kind of justice from happening.
- 24:07So. True.
- 24:10So we've got that going on. I the effects are just amazing
- 24:14and I like that we had a million different ways that people get
- 24:19like gored up in here. Some are real simple, some take
- 24:23a little bit of time. They all feel thematic in their
- 24:26own ways. Yeah, I like the kids
- 24:29conversations in the van especially or the Jeep or
- 24:33whatever. Especially like on the in the
- 24:34opening on the way to the store and like they're all bickering
- 24:37and then at one point like the song drops and I'll go.
- 24:40Oh shit, I love that. Like I just, I, I really like
- 24:45it. I think it's a good watch.
- 24:47It's a fun time. I was almost sad that we were
- 24:49watching to take notes last night 'cause I just wanted to
- 24:51watch it. We.
- 24:52Can throw it on again. Before Thanksgiving.
- 24:54This. I mean, it's also just an
- 24:55incredibly well shot movie. Yes.
- 24:58I did the the set pieces are amazing.
- 25:00I got there's just so much good about this movie.
- 25:03It honestly, it didn't have any right to be as good as it is.
- 25:06No, I'd I was bamboozled coming out of the theater.
- 25:10I was like, this is not what I expected from Eli Roth, but it
- 25:13still feels like an Eli Roth movie.
- 25:15I think everybody came in with low expectations and high hopes,
- 25:21low expectations, and then it just kind of exceeded.
- 25:24Yeah, very well done. All right.
- 25:26You got any other goods? I think that's the the long and
- 25:30the short of it. OK, all right, on to bad.
- 25:34And I don't really have much bad to say, but I will say I think
- 25:40it would have been kind of cool to see this made in the style
- 25:46and vibe of the trailer. OK.
- 25:48I like the idea of doing it as a remake.
- 25:51That's cool. It makes sense, but I also think
- 25:56I want to see that original movie too.
- 25:59That movie just Oh my God, it's that is also shot well.
- 26:04It's it's got great moments, great set pieces.
- 26:08It looks awesome. I don't know.
- 26:10I I really, really want to watch that.
- 26:12I get what you're saying, I feel what you're putting out there.
- 26:17However, I do like that Eli pushed himself a little bit to
- 26:24not go full grindhouse the way he normally would like be want
- 26:29to. So I think it was just like I
- 26:31said, I think it was nice to see something still very much him,
- 26:34but also different. I think his style is evolved.
- 26:37Yeah, Really. I don't think he's doing the
- 26:39same type of movies he did before.
- 26:41You know, he's he's he's able to make the other like this is
- 26:44like, I think actually his first slasher.
- 26:47Yeah, I didn't actually think of.
- 26:49I think he said that in one of the featurettes too, where like
- 26:51this was the first time that they really wanted to make a
- 26:53whodunit. Yeah, because.
- 26:55He hadn't really done that before.
- 26:58Yeah, because there are pretty much his whole thing has been
- 27:00like body horror and then he did some of the torture stuff.
- 27:03Yeah, yeah. So OK, what's your bad?
- 27:07My bad is, I guess like there's just there are so many
- 27:10characters in this and so many of them have like enough
- 27:15relevance to the plot that I feel like it's a little bit
- 27:18overwhelming at times and we don't get to get more of the
- 27:21characters that I would love to get more of.
- 27:24Who would you want more of? I feel like it it would be nice
- 27:27to see Kathleen fleshed out just a little bit more, kind of give
- 27:31us a little bit more range to her character because she starts
- 27:34and ends as the wicked stepmother, you know, kind of.
- 27:37Yeah. Scuba.
- 27:39He really shines once half of the high school kids are dead or
- 27:43tranquilized. He makes it further than most of
- 27:47them. And honestly?
- 27:48Actually, all of them. A lot more of Yulia's dad.
- 27:52I I wish they hadn't cut out that scene where they make a
- 27:55joke about him. Like where she's like, he's not
- 27:57a mobster. He's so very fucking clearly.
- 27:59A mobster. I like, I would have loved more
- 28:01of that. That's what I'm saying.
- 28:03Like all of these interesting characters are introduced and I
- 28:05want just like a little bit more of each of them.
- 28:08And I feel like we would have to do that at the expense of
- 28:10cutting other characters. So like Mccarty's character, yes
- 28:14I understand he gives the ring that ultimately gets them loose,
- 28:18but other than that I feel like he's not needed in the movie at
- 28:21all. He's.
- 28:23More Comic Relief, but there's enough comedy interwoven in the
- 28:26movie already anyway that I don't feel like he's needed.
- 28:29Yeah, yeah, they also had many the security guard.
- 28:36He was. Comic Relief.
- 28:37Also, yeah, he's an actual comedian.
- 28:40Yeah, he's a very short. I get why he's in there because,
- 28:44you know, they only hired the two security guards.
- 28:46The one that stayed gets killed, the other one that doesn't stay
- 28:49gets revenge murdered and we get the cat.
- 28:52So. Yeah, I feel like his his
- 28:54presence was as long as it needed to be.
- 28:57Same with Lizzie. Yeah, like I feel like those
- 28:59characters were utilized just the right amount, but there were
- 29:01some side characters and even some main characters that I felt
- 29:04like either needed to be more side or more mane.
- 29:07But like, it was just I needed a little bit more balance with the
- 29:11amount of characters we get. I got you.
- 29:13OK, Glee. Well.
- 29:18I was like, Glee isn't one of our categories.
- 29:21Is that how you're saying Glee? Glee, really the only thing I
- 29:29have for ugly is the Black Friday madness.
- 29:31The consumerism, you know, it's it kicks off the events of the
- 29:38movie. And also a year later, you get
- 29:40Thomas, who's still like, Oh yeah, we're still doing this
- 29:43shit like a year later at that store where all of this shit
- 29:46happened. He's like, yeah, we're going to
- 29:47do that again. And I mean, he ultimately calls
- 29:50it off because of his daughter, But you know, he has a change of
- 29:53heart. But at the same time, you know,
- 29:55he wanted to and he like initially he was like, no, like
- 29:58fucking money. Well, and he wasn't even, it
- 30:01hadn't been his idea to open Thanksgiving night the year
- 30:04before either, but Kathleen pushed him to.
- 30:06Yeah, yeah, I will agree with you on that.
- 30:11Ugly. And here's the wild thing is
- 30:14that I think people sometimes I, I feel like people should get
- 30:17off the Internet. But some of these commenters.
- 30:20So when I was reading reviews, trying to find a good, like
- 30:22review, because I know how we feel about this.
- 30:24So I was reading more of the negative reviews to find a
- 30:27balanced take on why somebody might not like it.
- 30:30And a lot of them were saying like, it's just unrealistic
- 30:32people wouldn't die in this. And I was like.
- 30:35Die in the Black Friday. Yeah, I was like bro.
- 30:39There's like a document. This shit happens, Yes, Yeah,
- 30:42it's a That's why Black Fridays are so like, honestly, it's kind
- 30:48of like an evil corporate machine.
- 30:49It doesn't need to exist and like.
- 30:52I think it's more it's not as bad now because it's primarily
- 30:57online. Yes, and I feel such a sense of
- 31:02relief right now because like the Amazon Black Friday is going
- 31:06on for a full week. So not only do I not have to go
- 31:09somewhere and fight somebody for it, but I also have time to like
- 31:12think on larger purchases. We we've actually had this
- 31:15conversation about like something I was considering
- 31:18getting and you're like, it's not a lightning deal.
- 31:19You've got until Thanksgiving to decide if you want to get this
- 31:23or. Not actually past Thanksgiving.
- 31:24You know. Black Fridays after
- 31:26Thanksgiving. Oh, I thought their.
- 31:28Thing went until the 28th, does it go till the 20?
- 31:309th it's past. I checked the dates, yeah.
- 31:32Yeah. So like it's a little bit better
- 31:34these days, but it's still happening.
- 31:36Like it's still being started in stores on Thanksgiving night.
- 31:40And I just I don't understand. Cuz the sales.
- 31:44Honestly, they're not even that great.
- 31:46Like if you're doing. It depends.
- 31:48Some of them are. Some of them are, but like some
- 31:51of them, is it worth like missing out on being with your
- 31:55family or whatever traditions you might have or just being
- 31:57comfortable in your own home and to go be around a crowd that
- 32:01could potentially get violent? The thing that I think is the
- 32:04worst is making people work on these holidays.
- 32:06Yeah. So that was what I was going to
- 32:08get to next. Yeah, like so.
- 32:10Well, you can call me shit or a hypocrite or whatever, but there
- 32:14is some fun to it. I have had some fond memories of
- 32:17doing events like that with family before.
- 32:20But, you know, I never on Thanksgiving itself, always on
- 32:23like that Friday. But yeah, I mean, you know, if
- 32:29it were like pick between these people, get to have time off
- 32:34with their loved ones or you get to go out and get an awesome
- 32:37deal, I would choose for other people to be able to spend time
- 32:40with other people, obviously. Yes.
- 32:42And that was the thing that would kill me when I was a
- 32:44server. And I'd work on like any given
- 32:47holiday. And they'd be like, oh, why
- 32:48aren't you celebrating the holiday?
- 32:50And I'd be like, because you're here, Yeah, you're here right
- 32:54now. Is this a serious question, you
- 32:56asshole? It like I you can't have it both
- 33:02ways. You can't say people should be
- 33:04celebrating the holidays with their loved ones and then also
- 33:06go and patronize a a restaurant or a store and be like, like,
- 33:12it's a shame people aren't spending the day with their
- 33:14loved ones. Well, you're making the demand
- 33:16for this. You are meeting the demand.
- 33:18So they have to have employees there.
- 33:20And it sucks for those employees that can't afford to say no no.
- 33:26OK, I think we've set a piece on that.
- 33:28So let's go on to absurd. Absurd.
- 33:32OK. First off, Evan's YouTube video,
- 33:36I love his editing style. Yeah, he's got the in the
- 33:41special features. You get to watch the full video.
- 33:43So that was fun. I like how he has like these
- 33:46little like, it's a very terrible moment for that town
- 33:50for a lot of people, but he's making such a light.
- 33:54He's he's just like making fun of the whole thing.
- 33:58And the best part about it is it's really poorly done too.
- 34:01Yeah. Like it's peak.
- 34:03Like I'm 17 and I think I'm awesome.
- 34:06Yeah, and I love the end of it. Like it's like subscribe.
- 34:13That got Scout's attention. Every time it happened she was
- 34:16like. It's So what am I?
- 34:17Subscribing to I'm here for. It it's so insensitive.
- 34:21One of the others is whenever Ryan goes goes to check just
- 34:26whenever she had attacked or was attacked and Bobby was there and
- 34:30had her his jacket on her. Jacket just over her shoulders
- 34:33like and here's the thing. I didn't mention this in my good
- 34:35and I need to get this out right now so I don't forget it.
- 34:38Bobby handled the breakup poorly, just ghosting her and
- 34:43then he comes back to town and he's like, hey, I'm still your
- 34:47friend. Like and I thought it was a nice
- 34:49mature moment of them taught. That was a nice mature moment.
- 34:53He didn't try anything actively, right?
- 34:56Like it's not like he was like putting moves on her.
- 34:59But then him and Ryan are button heads the whole time.
- 35:02But like he does eventually at the end, he's like be happy with
- 35:05Ryan. Like I think it it would have
- 35:07been handled a lot worse by different directors.
- 35:11Well, isn't that surprising from Eli Roth.
- 35:14I know it actually really is, yeah.
- 35:16I he was definitely trying to get with her still just yeah,
- 35:22like, absolutely. Yeah, I'm not saying that there
- 35:24wasn't like, you know. But anyways, back to the absurd
- 35:28moment when he is over there to comfort her, he just like goes
- 35:31over there to hug her and casually in one motion just
- 35:34brushes off the jacket making her cold.
- 35:37And he doesn't fucking care because like in his mind he just
- 35:40doesn't want Bobby anywhere around her.
- 35:43It's just so funny. I love how flawless it is.
- 35:46That's how seamless, Yeah. So yeah, I mean, that was pretty
- 35:50much it. OK, Maya, Absurd is going to be
- 35:54when he's down there and he's got the voice modulator on and
- 35:57it's like a wireless headset and it's coming through the mask.
- 36:03They would hear Sheriff Newland like underneath the mask, like
- 36:07it's not gonna be perfect that they're only hearing the
- 36:10voicemail cuz he's getting right in some of their faces.
- 36:12Do you have these same complaints for Scream?
- 36:15Because I feel like if you're gonna complain about it here,
- 36:17you gotta complain about it and Scream.
- 36:19That's fair. Yeah, I'm just, I'm just
- 36:22throwing it. Out there, Yeah.
- 36:23No, I get you. Yeah, yeah.
- 36:24I mean, his whole thing is he has like the fucking headset on
- 36:26and he's got like the microphone in front of his mouth.
- 36:29I love it when he comes out there with that headset.
- 36:32It's his full it's Britney bitch moment.
- 36:35Like that's how it feels. Also, yeah, it's kind of
- 36:38interesting because the whole movie he's a silent killer, but
- 36:41then at the end he's like, you're Frank screaming.
- 36:44I love it because we get our back the guy's speech, like the
- 36:47evil villain speech. Yeah, it's not something.
- 36:50You expect of the silent killers is you can't get the
- 36:53overdramatic villain speech. What do you think Michael would
- 36:55say? Oh, wait.
- 37:02Write the movie, Travis. Write the movie.
- 37:06I'm giving this a fucking 9 1/2. I love this movie it is so good.
- 37:11This is, I mean it obviously gonna be a Thanksgiving
- 37:15tradition for us, but for sure I mean potential for non
- 37:19Thanksgiving viewing also. It's.
- 37:22Just good. Same with Halloween.
- 37:23Yeah, I will give this a nine because I think it's a very
- 37:26fantastic movie. Cool, So 925. 925.
- 37:30Average. All right, Cool.
- 37:32OK. Are we ready to do this?
- 37:34We are ready to do this. OK.
- 37:37So we start off Plymouth, MA Thanksgiving.
- 37:40We had a POV shot of walking up to the house.
- 37:42Very much Halloween 1978. Very much the opening, yeah,
- 37:46it's a straight up amash to it. And we have Eric.
- 37:51He's a cop. He is joining Thanksgiving with
- 37:55Mitch. Mitch and Amanda.
- 37:57Sorry, I was just gonna say Gina Gershon's family.
- 38:00And I. Was like I need to get the
- 38:01actual character names. Out.
- 38:03I like how he goes to the door after he says yeah we're looking
- 38:06for a suspect. He's 15 lbs gold, brown
- 38:09complexion. For a minute I was confused.
- 38:12It was like. Is a cat, is a dog like what we
- 38:14talking about here, Turkey? Right, well.
- 38:17I. Thought it was a baby so.
- 38:22I'm gonna do that next time we go to one of our, I guess, see
- 38:25our nieces and nephews. It's so funny.
- 38:30So yeah, they're going over there.
- 38:31They're having Thanksgiving dinner, got the whole family,
- 38:35Jess and Thomas, and all of them are there too.
- 38:38No, this is a separate. They're separate houses.
- 38:40They're separate. It's not super clear at first.
- 38:42It's not OK. I yeah, I was so.
- 38:43This one is at Mitch's house, and it's contract.
- 38:46We figure it out later because when it cuts over to Thomas's
- 38:50new house, it's a mansion. The mayor is there.
- 38:53His new fiance, who sold him the house is there.
- 38:56Jesse. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 38:58And Kathleen is very upset that Jess is wearing jeans and a
- 39:00sweater and she's like, it's Thanksgiving in my own home.
- 39:03This is what I'm wearing. Bobby's there, he's the star
- 39:07baseball pitcher, and they're going to go meet for a movie.
- 39:11Cut back to the other house. Mitch gets a call.
- 39:13He has to go into work because somebody else called in.
- 39:17Yeah, he's security. Yeah, no, he's the manager.
- 39:21Mitch is. Oh, OK, yeah.
- 39:23Got him. I'm just dropping a ball in this
- 39:25whole entire. Opening, aren't I?
- 39:27Good thing you have me here. Yeah, OK, so Eric comes over.
- 39:32Oh, wait. No, fuck me.
- 39:33No, I'm fucking it up even more. Let me.
- 39:35Do this just and Bobby go outside.
- 39:37Evan is picking them up with the rest of their friends.
- 39:39They're talking about how they had a fight with some Hanover
- 39:42kids he punched. One of them thinks his name is
- 39:45Lonnie. Yeah, I love it.
- 39:46He's like, oh man, we should have recorded it too.
- 39:48And then yeah, fucking Yuli. It's.
- 39:52Like Yulia? Yulia yeah, I think like his
- 39:56phone got fucked up in the fight, yes.
- 39:58So he is wanting to swing by the store real quick to pick up a
- 40:02new phone. Yes, they're supposed to be
- 40:04going to see a movie and everybody's like, do we need
- 40:06this? He's like, I need my phone and
- 40:08Yulia's like. Plus, Evan owes me a new
- 40:10lipstick. I want more on the story.
- 40:13Why does he owe her lipstick? What happened?
- 40:16Yeah, for real. Also his rationale for is yeah I
- 40:20gotta text my girlfriend during the movie, how else am I gonna
- 40:23do that? I need a new phone.
- 40:25Fucking asshole. So they pull in and God such an
- 40:28asshole. They pull in the exit part of
- 40:30the parking lot, park in the handicapped spot, and then Jess
- 40:36lets them all in the back entrance because the she owns
- 40:39the story. No, they run into Ryan for.
- 40:41A Yes, Ryan's there. He clearly has a thing for Jess.
- 40:47Bobby clearly understands this blocks them off from talking.
- 40:52And his like friend is giving him shit.
- 40:53I get vibes of Ryan's friend from New York for this guy here
- 40:58my. God.
- 40:59Yeah, you can see that. Yeah.
- 41:01Yeah, and he's like trying really hard to invite her to
- 41:03like a post Thanksgiving party. And she's like, Bobby's in town
- 41:07for the weekend only. And he's like, yeah, but I mean,
- 41:09you can come by like a couple. Of times you can hang out and.
- 41:13Forget. Bobby and all kinds of shit like
- 41:14that. Maybe kids.
- 41:15Maybe kids? So, yeah, they sneak in to the
- 41:19side there and they go inside there and they are taunting all
- 41:22of the people they see the guy that he, Evan and Scuba got in a
- 41:26fight with out there too, wanting.
- 41:27Yeah. So they're taunting him from
- 41:29inside the store. Yeah, and then Lizzie's out
- 41:32there. She's getting real irate.
- 41:33She wants that waffle iron. Why do you want the waffle iron,
- 41:36Lizzie? Just make waffles at work.
- 41:38You work at a diner, baby. You want to do it at home too?
- 41:42I just feel like she can make the diner waffles and bring them
- 41:44home because she doesn't have to make a mess in her own kitchen.
- 41:46Not fresh and she'd be stealing from her employer.
- 41:49Yeah, so the people are getting really restless with them being
- 41:54in there. So they start to push past the
- 41:57barrier and they are up against the door and they're like, OK,
- 42:02we got to open the door, we got to let him in.
- 42:04It's creating a crowd crush situation.
- 42:07And Doug, poor little Doug, he was not meant to be a security
- 42:10for a crowd this size. Nobody has all and it seems like
- 42:14maybe they're contracted security.
- 42:16So he's got this huge ring of rings or keys, and he's trying
- 42:20to find the one that unlocks the door.
- 42:22They're pushing and pressing in. The other security guard, Manny,
- 42:27runs away and then the door caves in.
- 42:33It crashes Doug underneath it. One of the like people in the
- 42:37crowd gets his throat slit. Like a Shard of glass that's
- 42:40sticking out from that. Yeah.
- 42:42And he pushes right through it. Oh my.
- 42:43God. And so Amanda and Eric are both
- 42:48there. They decided they were going to
- 42:49bring food to Mitch since he missed out on dinner.
- 42:52And Amanda gets hit immediately. And when she falls to the
- 42:56ground, she gets hit by a cart and a piece of her scalp gets
- 43:00torn off by the wheel and Lizzie continuing to push it.
- 43:03And you know she had to know something was stuck there
- 43:06because God, if you look at a shopping cartwheel the wrong
- 43:10way, it stops working. And this had flesh in it.
- 43:13She even made a comment to her, I think, after that.
- 43:16So yeah, she was fully aware of what was happening there.
- 43:20So yeah, that happened. That one guy that got his neck
- 43:22nicked stumbled over to the waffle.
- 43:25He's still trying to get it. But he ends up bleeding out.
- 43:29Bobby and Jess are like hidden by a display and Bobby sees that
- 43:34Doug is still breathing and he wants to go help them because it
- 43:37seems like the crowd has thinned out.
- 43:38And then we get an ouchie. Yeah.
- 43:43There are far more bends in his arm than there should because he
- 43:46he decides he's going to crawl over.
- 43:48Bold move, and as he does, somebody steps on his forearm,
- 43:52basically. Yeah, and just snaps his arm in
- 43:55half. Yeah, goodbye 96 mile per hour.
- 43:58Fastball. So Eric, in a panic, just takes
- 44:00his gun out and fires around into the ceiling.
- 44:02Question. Yeah, because he watched a lot
- 44:04of baseball. Is 96 mph a good fastball?
- 44:07Yeah. OK.
- 44:08I mean, yeah, like that's a professional level speed right
- 44:12there. Thank you.
- 44:13Just wanted to make sure. It sounds impressive because I
- 44:15don't feel like I throw that fast but I wanted to understand
- 44:19the scale. The fastest I ever experienced
- 44:21in high school was in the 60s. OK.
- 44:23Yeah, OK. Like that you had to bat or
- 44:26that. You had to bat pitch.
- 44:27Yeah, I pitched in a Little League, but yeah, that wasn't a
- 44:30good pitch here. It's just like somebody's got to
- 44:33do it. Who else?
- 44:36But Travis, my dad was the coach at the time.
- 44:40So, hey, I earned my shit, OK? I'm a second baseman, though.
- 44:43That's my that's my position. But yeah, so he just fires
- 44:47around and then we get the title card at Thanksgiving.
- 44:49And then it's one year later. And it cuts to the video that
- 44:54Evan uploaded onto the Internet. I will say the funniest bit in
- 44:58this is the fact that he calls it Fight Mart.
- 45:00Yeah, I know. But yeah, yeah.
- 45:02That that was, that was clever. And the video was honestly
- 45:05funny, like if it was not such a tragic event, it would be kind.
- 45:08Of I think what makes it funny is that it's so cringe humor,
- 45:12kind of like the stuff he's putting over top of it is like
- 45:15cringy. I like it.
- 45:17I mean, they're like, yeah, it's funny.
- 45:20Like honestly if his YouTube video was him just uploading all
- 45:25of his fights I would watch that shit.
- 45:27Well, to be fair, you watched a lot of street fight videos.
- 45:31Exactly. Yeah.
- 45:32And he was big on it. He's oh man, we should have
- 45:34recorded that fight that he, he's fucking into that.
- 45:36So you and Evan in another world could have been Bros.
- 45:39Tight. OK.
- 45:40Yeah, for sure. You would have met through Bobby
- 45:43on the baseball team. Yeah, probably.
- 45:45There we go. We've just written.
- 45:46Written the world. Or we've written me into the
- 45:51Yeah. Eli.
- 45:52Thanksgiving Thanksgiving 2. Thanksgiving 2.
- 45:58So, yeah, it's PO Visha. It's the killer we're assuming
- 46:03watching the video, and he is taking notes of all of the
- 46:06people that are partaking in the chaotic events that have maybe
- 46:11killed some people. Yeah, during that event.
- 46:13And then we cut to news footage covering protests that are
- 46:17happening in front of Right Mart because they are planning to do
- 46:21the same shit again. But Thomas says it's OK.
- 46:24It's OK because they've donated to charity over the past year
- 46:27and they're gonna hire more security, so, you know, no big
- 46:32deal. And what's his name?
- 46:36Mitch. Mitch says it's awfully
- 46:39convenient that the security footage wasn't working.
- 46:42Cuz I'll tell you, it was working when I got to the store
- 46:44that night. I love how like he was that real
- 46:47like angry person on, on the news.
- 46:50And, and I, I love that, especially from somebody that's
- 46:53like leading a protest, like have that fire, have that
- 46:55passion. I'm on your side, Mitch.
- 46:58Yeah. And I think also they're like
- 46:59they mentioned some of like the casualties are like the victims
- 47:02and they mentioned Bobby's injury that he suffered was
- 47:05career ending. So he was not able to pursue
- 47:07pursue baseball. Except later he says that he's
- 47:11almost back up to full speed with his pitches.
- 47:14Rehab now is fucking incredible. Oh I know, I went to sports
- 47:19rehab clinic for my knee. Yeah, exactly.
- 47:22I am not anywhere near that level.
- 47:24I got to utilize all kinds of fancy ass equipment.
- 47:27That's like the peak right there.
- 47:28The the sports rehab place is where it's at.
- 47:31Yes, rich donors, I want you to know it doesn't just go to the
- 47:34athletes, it goes to schmoes like me.
- 47:38Yeah, some people that injured themselves.
- 47:40Trampolini. Hey man, and.
- 47:42Not like the person in this movie.
- 47:45OK, so we cut over to the diner where Lizzie works and Erica's
- 47:50there. He's waiting for the new deputy
- 47:52that is starting to show up. Also love Lizzie, she has to
- 47:56also be a complete fucking sociopath because she forgets
- 48:00how she straight up murdered a woman in front of the sheriff
- 48:02last year. Yeah, for real.
- 48:07She's like usual, it's just coffee and he's like, no, no,
- 48:11no, two cups today. Got a new deputy?
- 48:13Got a new bubby coming along today.
- 48:16Yeah, yeah. And he pulls in like an asshole,
- 48:19cutting off the detective and they have like a little stare
- 48:23down like a minor road rage incident.
- 48:25I kind of like this guy as it goes throughout because he's
- 48:28very rough around the edges, but he gets his fucking job done.
- 48:31He kind of has a little side thing caught with the the tunnel
- 48:34man too. Yeah, the museum Tunnel man.
- 48:37Yes, as we will call him MMTMTM. Yeah, MTM.
- 48:43Yeah, he was. OK.
- 48:44He starts out as a Dick, yes, but that's and.
- 48:47This is the right amount of side character growth that I'm
- 48:52feeling like I got just enough of him.
- 48:54So yeah. So yeah.
- 48:57So. We see she's handing out John
- 49:02Carver. Masks, yeah.
- 49:04So everybody in town has. Them.
- 49:06And they kind of point. Him as a red herring here at
- 49:09first because like they hand it to him he's like, what would you
- 49:11like it? And he's like, he puts sounds
- 49:13like, yeah, how could you get used to this?
- 49:16So. Eric.
- 49:19Oh no sorry, that's the same line I just read.
- 49:21So Jess and her friends don't know who has been posting the
- 49:25video it Evan took it down, but it keeps getting reposted and
- 49:30Gabby accuses him at first and then they realize that somebody
- 49:35just keeps reposting it. They're being tagged in.
- 49:38It. Yeah.
- 49:38So that's making it worse for them.
- 49:41She is supposed to. Jess is supposed to be filming a
- 49:44commercial with her dad over at the Carver house, and she finds
- 49:48out on the way there that Kathleen is also going to be in
- 49:51it. So they've married since then?
- 49:54Yeah, which I mean that makes. Sense I get the whole thing, the
- 49:59stepchild being reluctant to have a new parent in their life
- 50:02type thing, but I mean if they're married now like, I mean
- 50:05that makes sense. I mean, yeah, like it's it's.
- 50:08You might not consider her a mom, and that's real and totally
- 50:12valid, but it is your dad's wife and but also a high schooler.
- 50:16Should you? You don't.
- 50:17Expect these people to have a full grasp on how that shit is.
- 50:20Well, I mean somebody. Can be family and to somebody
- 50:23and not to somebody else. So like, I get that.
- 50:26Yeah. Like that's her daddy's family,
- 50:28but not her family. This is his business.
- 50:30It's his call, Yeah. No, I agree.
- 50:32I know. I know you.
- 50:34Yeah, I. Get where she's coming from, I
- 50:35get where. He's coming from, and Kathleen
- 50:38is coming from the point of consumerism and greed.
- 50:42Yeah. And Thomas is coming from the
- 50:44point of. Anger because the Carver house
- 50:46has been vandalized yeah he's not mad that a historical
- 50:49landmark has been vandalized he's mad because it's got fight
- 50:52Mart on there and he's mad because the.
- 50:55Acts, that was part of the historical landmark is gone and
- 50:59he wanted to vandalize. He was going to have it, yeah.
- 51:02I love, I love that right there. He's like, yeah, like I like
- 51:08Eric is like, oh man, yeah, I got to report this, you know,
- 51:10vandalized landmark. He's like, I don't give a fuck
- 51:13about that. I wanted that axe.
- 51:15So the way Rick Hoffman. Delivers his lines is just
- 51:18always perfect. I love that dude.
- 51:21I He was funny. In the behind the scenes.
- 51:22Stuff. Too.
- 51:23Yes, he was. Yeah, he was like.
- 51:25Cuz he has to be at A10 for all of his line delivery.
- 51:28So he comes in hot and so when he messes up it always feels
- 51:32super intense. Kind of like us on the coffee.
- 51:34Last week he was having a lot of his lines too.
- 51:36And I. Like it was like a very calm one
- 51:38too. And then I remember he was like,
- 51:40well, I guess that just goes to show you don't do a lot of
- 51:42cocaine before you do your takes.
- 51:45I liked it. There was.
- 51:46One outtake and it was used at the very end of the movie too,
- 51:50where he has this whole emotional.
- 51:52Moment with Jess. And then like, they just don't
- 51:55cut after she leaves the room. And he's like, you know, being a
- 51:58good actor, doing his job, staying in in the emotion of it.
- 52:03And then like after 30 seconds, like he hears giggling and
- 52:06realizes that they're fucking with them.
- 52:09He just like, flips off. The camera and and the.
- 52:11Best part about that is they didn't even use the shot from
- 52:14that angle in the final movies and like he 'cause he kept
- 52:17fucking it up the entire time, but that's that's so real that
- 52:20like. Yeah.
- 52:21Are we cut? We stop trying to go back to
- 52:23being normal. Humans.
- 52:24Again. Yeah, it's funny.
- 52:27So, OK, Ryan has been invited by, he's talking to, I guess,
- 52:33his friend. He's like, yeah, things are
- 52:35going well with Jess. You know, I'm invited over for
- 52:37Thanksgiving dinner, and I've also been invited to be a part
- 52:40of the Thanksgiving parade this year.
- 52:42Listen, I get that it's. An exciting moment for him.
- 52:46You know he's been pining after her for a long time.
- 52:48It's really easy to be a part of a fucking parade.
- 52:50If I never have to be a part of a parade again in my life, I'll
- 52:53be happy. I can't tell if it's.
- 52:55Specifically her family's fault. Yeah.
- 52:57No, it's because it's the. Float, but I just like, I'm
- 53:00like, I mean, if you wanted to be in the parade, man, you could
- 53:02have found a way to be in the parade.
- 53:03Yeah, yeah, it's the. Thought that counts.
- 53:07But he's super. Psyched about it.
- 53:09Jess OK, so they're at the diner and they're waiting for Ryan to
- 53:11show up. And then Jess thinks that she
- 53:14sees Bobby walking out of the diner.
- 53:16Yeah. Bobby has ghosted her.
- 53:18Ghosted everybody. Yeah.
- 53:19Left town. Dropped off.
- 53:21Of like social media. Changed his number, all of that.
- 53:24Yeah. But his uncle does have an auto
- 53:27repair shop in town that he works at in school breaks.
- 53:30So there is a potential he could be there.
- 53:32And everybody else doesn't really love Ryan because they
- 53:35say he kind of throws off the vibe.
- 53:38But he he is a smart kid. And he comes in and he's like,
- 53:44what are your all's plans for the Pats Steelers game?
- 53:47And they're like, probably watch it scoop his house.
- 53:49And he's like, well, just so happens I got tickets.
- 53:54He's trying to buy the friendships.
- 53:55Yeah, they're not real. I mean he.
- 53:58He's trying to buy acceptance. From a group his girlfriend's
- 54:01part of. Yeah, but even she's kind of
- 54:03like. Yeah, you know, and her, she
- 54:07didn't even defend him. She's like, well, he hasn't
- 54:09ghosted me. Like, yeah.
- 54:11Is that really all it takes for you to be like that's that's a
- 54:13very shallow relationship. Also, she very strikes me.
- 54:16She very much strikes me as somebody.
- 54:18Who's insecure and just wants to be in a relationship because
- 54:20she's 1617, doesn't know who she is yet and and she's lost her
- 54:25mom and a lot of complicated shit and also before.
- 54:29All of that, they all got tagged.
- 54:31And another thing on Instagram, and it's a post saying the table
- 54:35is set and it's got a picture of the table that I like.
- 54:40The Instagram account isn't the John Carver.
- 54:42Yes. Yeah.
- 54:43Which I wonder if that was an actual real account that they
- 54:45had during the promotion of the movie.
- 54:47Oh, that's an interesting thought.
- 54:49It should. Have I would have done.
- 54:51That if I were them. Let me see if there's one.
- 54:55Up at this time. There's a couple.
- 55:04Of them. Yeah.
- 55:06But I don't. Think they're real?
- 55:08Yeah, it. Seems more like they're fan.
- 55:09Accounts, yeah. So, OK, so there we go.
- 55:12I like the idea of it. Yeah, it was.
- 55:14Cool. All right.
- 55:17So let's move on from that. We see Lizzie closing up the
- 55:21diner at night. She is the last one in there.
- 55:23Lights are off, tables are empty, and there is a John
- 55:28Carpenter. I know I can't.
- 55:30I'm. Sorry, I thought it might be
- 55:34longer before I slipped that. Yeah, well, also before this.
- 55:38Like, the killer is watching the video and he targets, he freezes
- 55:42on Lizzie, and he's like, all right, that's what I'm going
- 55:44after now. So yeah, now.
- 55:46Yeah. She's closing down the diner.
- 55:49She is attacked as. She is about to leave, her head
- 55:53is dunked into a sink full of water or well, first her hand is
- 55:56sliced and then while she's like ah, my hand is sliced.
- 55:59Her head is shoved into a sink full of water and then the
- 56:02freezer door is open and her face is stuck to it.
- 56:05New fear unlocked. This is creative, yes?
- 56:08I really. Really like this amazing and
- 56:11like. Also terrifying to think about
- 56:14because, like, it does it's, you know, like in the House of Wax
- 56:17when the guy, like, super glues her lips together instead of
- 56:20duct taping. And she's got like, peel her
- 56:21lips apart and I'm like, wow, that's a much more efficient way
- 56:25of doing it and also hurts a lot more than duct tape.
- 56:29Same with this. Yeah, like the goal here?
- 56:32Is he took her, did that, opened up the door and stuck her there
- 56:35so she would be stuck so he can just take the axe and cut her?
- 56:38Yes, but she frees herself by tearing off a chunk of her face
- 56:42and pulling off and that we get. This is one of the funniest.
- 56:45Like, this is the kind of dark humor shit I love because she
- 56:49runs into the office, The Face ID doesn't recognize her because
- 56:53her face is bloody and torn up, and her hand also got frozen and
- 56:56stuck. The one that was.
- 56:58Well, they were both. Both her hands are bloody at
- 57:00this point because one got stuck to the freezer and she had to
- 57:02RIP the skin off. The other had been sliced open
- 57:05so she can't swipe open her phone.
- 57:07Yeah. And this is such a good way of
- 57:10handling the 21st century cell phone problem in movies.
- 57:13Yeah. Yeah.
- 57:15Honestly, you didn't even need to give her that like chance to
- 57:17do that. But they I like that they were
- 57:20like, yeah, here. Like fucking can't do it.
- 57:23I love it. Body, hand, frozen face.
- 57:25She manages to sneak out. She gets.
- 57:27Out to the parking lot, but she can't find her keys in her
- 57:30purse, and that takes just long enough for John Carver to drive
- 57:35at her. She goes running.
- 57:36She tries to dive into a dumpster to protect herself, but
- 57:40she misses it. It's like she doesn't get in
- 57:42there in time, and the car hits the dumpster and the lid closes
- 57:45down and chops her in. Yeah, you know.
- 57:49Always a bad move to run in a straight line whenever you're
- 57:52running from a car because I mean, they're going to outrun
- 57:55you. They're a fucking car.
- 57:56Also like. Babe, if you're getting in the
- 57:59dumpster, you fish in a barrel. Yeah, yeah.
- 58:04Yeah, she was just stupid. Brain moment right there.
- 58:07Yeah, like that. That was very much.
- 58:09Like a fight or flight, like, okay, first thing I see, I'm
- 58:13gonna dive into. But it just, it wasn't the best
- 58:16move, Yeah, wasn't tactical. And that's why the next morning,
- 58:20her leggies are set up on the right Mart sign.
- 58:23Yeah, that, that was cool. What?
- 58:25A statement? Yeah, right.
- 58:26How the fuck? Do you even get up there?
- 58:28I and I like that too. Like the killer?
- 58:29Was like, hey, we're not fucking around.
- 58:32I'm going to make sure the whole town knows what's going on.
- 58:34Like, yeah, if the Instagram wasn't serious enough, like
- 58:37because he's like boomers and Gen.
- 58:40X might not check Instagram and might not care about the kids
- 58:44saying Instagram. But if we put it on the grocery
- 58:47store sign, some attention, the supermarket sign.
- 58:51Yeah. All right, so we come.
- 58:52Over to high school. Evan is getting a paper typed up
- 58:56by Jacob, and Jacob is reluctant but you know he does it anyways.
- 59:02And John Carver. Tags them in a.
- 59:04Picture of the corpse and all of their names.
- 59:07Are at place settings at the dinner table so.
- 59:12We. The cops.
- 59:15Are investigating the murder. Scene and they're just checking
- 59:18out the shit and then yeah, security cameras show John.
- 59:21Carver was at both the diner and the store.
- 59:26Right? Mart?
- 59:27Yeah, yeah, yeah. And they're like you're get.
- 59:29A load of this, Eric. You're not gonna believe what
- 59:31he's wearing. Yeah, you are.
- 59:33He's wearing the fucking John Carver.
- 59:35Completely believable. Yeah, he's wearing the John
- 59:37Carver outfit. Yeah, like the mask that
- 59:38everybody has in town? Jess asks her.
- 59:42Dad to close the store, like, please don't do this.
- 59:45And he just refuses. He was like, I'm hiring even
- 59:48more security. I don't know what you want from
- 59:51me. Yeah.
- 59:52He's like, go to the police station.
- 59:54Yeah, you know. Like.
- 59:56About like they're. Wanting to know.
- 59:59Just because they think it's related to the events of last
- 1:00:01year because it seems targeted based off of putting the body
- 1:00:03there. Yes.
- 1:00:04So they're like, all right, tell them like if you saw anything
- 1:00:07since they don't have footage to review.
- 1:00:08Yeah. So they're, they're headed to.
- 1:00:10The The group is like headed from the school to the police
- 1:00:13station. McCarty pulls up.
- 1:00:14He is like that archetype of the older kid who still hangs around
- 1:00:19the high school and tries to sell them drugs and booze and
- 1:00:23tickets to druggie boozy parties and also guns, which is what
- 1:00:28he's trying to sell in this particular moment.
- 1:00:31The kids, they arrive at the police.
- 1:00:35Station and they show. Them the pics on Instagram?
- 1:00:37Yes, and. Then.
- 1:00:40You know, they're like, OK, we'll see what we can do with
- 1:00:42this. When they leave, Bobby's waiting
- 1:00:44for them outside. And Jess is like, hey, I think I
- 1:00:46saw you yesterday at the diner. He's like, Nope, couldn't have
- 1:00:48been me. I just got in town today.
- 1:00:51Yeah, I will say at one point before they.
- 1:00:52Left. The sheriff did ask Jess
- 1:00:54specifically about the cameras, if she knows what happened to
- 1:00:57him, and it cut before she said anything, which she does.
- 1:01:00When she goes to talk to Bobby, they walk and talk, She said.
- 1:01:04He says rehab's going good, and she said so.
- 1:01:07Last year, in a panic, Kathleen came in and started deleting all
- 1:01:12of the security footage and saying it wasn't good for the
- 1:01:16image of the store. And I just kind of sit there and
- 1:01:19let it happen. And I feel really bad about it.
- 1:01:21He's like, well, you couldn't have stopped her, like, you
- 1:01:24know, Yeah. And she's like, but we have
- 1:01:27backups at home. And he's like, would it still
- 1:01:29even be available? She goes, it stays for up to a
- 1:01:31year. And so we see the killer has a.
- 1:01:35New victim in his sights? It's Manny, the security guard
- 1:01:38that dipped out during the Black Friday.
- 1:01:40And guess what? He's getting ready to dip out.
- 1:01:42Again, he's going to the Republica Dominica and he Don't
- 1:01:47worry, Jeannie is coming to feed Dewey.
- 1:01:51Yeah, dude, it's just sitting there like what the.
- 1:01:52Fuck man, it's Thanksgiving. It's supposed to be eaten, dude,
- 1:01:55and it's the same look that the cats give us.
- 1:01:57When they know we're going well, it's the same like Scout gives
- 1:02:00us when she knows we're going away is always like, I know
- 1:02:02you're about to put a shit ton of food in our bowls.
- 1:02:04Yeah, so I'm just going to scream until you like.
- 1:02:05Yeah, basically. Yeah, this cat is very well.
- 1:02:09Behaved so he's going to go do that.
- 1:02:11He sets down his passport on the table and then he's like
- 1:02:13distracted for a second and then he turns back around and then
- 1:02:16the passports missing, yes. So he's going to look.
- 1:02:19Around as he's trying to find it, he finds a junk carbon mask
- 1:02:23on his couch that is such a creepy.
- 1:02:25Thing whenever that happened he like comes because like he has
- 1:02:28like a false scare he I think somebody's behind the closet
- 1:02:30door he checks it nothing there he goes out to the living room
- 1:02:33and it's just placed on the couch and that happened in real
- 1:02:36life. I would be shitting my fucking
- 1:02:38pants and I love this so, he starts.
- 1:02:41To walk towards the kitchen and the angle of it, it's not very
- 1:02:44open. He can't see into the kitchen,
- 1:02:45but he can see Dewey on the kitchen counter.
- 1:02:47Dewey's looking at something like it.
- 1:02:49Looks like he's looking at something and he's like Dewey.
- 1:02:51Where is he in? There is he.
- 1:02:53In there, Dewey. And, like, it feels like Dewey
- 1:02:56is collaborating with him. And for a minute, you're like,
- 1:02:58fuck, yeah. And then he gets an electric
- 1:03:01Carver to the belly. Yeah, he was hiding underneath
- 1:03:04the table. And then he takes a wire, puts
- 1:03:06it up against his neck, and then cuts his head off a grout.
- 1:03:09And then? As he's.
- 1:03:11Walking out, he sees the cat standing by the food bowl,
- 1:03:14staring contemptuously. Yeah.
- 1:03:16I think it meows. Yeah, yes, maybe like Leroy did.
- 1:03:21Leroy Yale. We know Leroy.
- 1:03:23Yale did Dewey, Yale TBD. And it cuts.
- 1:03:27And for a second you're very concerned.
- 1:03:29And then we see a full bowl and a little gloved hand patting the
- 1:03:33top of the titty's head. I love this.
- 1:03:37I love this moment. And it also feels very
- 1:03:41believable from Eric as a character that he would see a
- 1:03:44Kitty cat and feed it. Like Patrick Dempsey really
- 1:03:48understood his character and was able to like, well, I wonder if
- 1:03:51he played that guy. I wonder, I do.
- 1:03:54Did you see if they credited anybody for the I don't know if
- 1:03:58you played him. I'm just saying like the way he.
- 1:03:59Is in all the other scenes. This feels believable as an
- 1:04:03action. I like how this like that right
- 1:04:05there like. You see that moment and it's
- 1:04:07kind of tense because you're like, oh fuck, he's gonna kill
- 1:04:10the cat. Yeah, for now they're good
- 1:04:13reason. Yeah, but then just a little
- 1:04:14gentle. Pet and food fill it up in the
- 1:04:17bowl and we also I also know it's going to be OK.
- 1:04:19Because we know Jeannie was supposed to come by to check on
- 1:04:21Dewey anyway. So like it's not even a case of
- 1:04:24he's going to starve and start to eat Manny's body.
- 1:04:26Exactly, he would be fine. Either way, but he doesn't have
- 1:04:29to resort to that unless he's an asshole cat.
- 1:04:32He gets hungry like 12 hours later.
- 1:04:35Listen if we die. Zoe's going to be the first to
- 1:04:38eat us. She tries to eat us while we're
- 1:04:39a whole high. Yeah, so.
- 1:04:42Regardless. Stewie can't eat Manny's head
- 1:04:45because it has been placed at the table and it's right across
- 1:04:48from Lizzie's top half. And of course, all of the kids
- 1:04:51are notified via their tags on Instagram.
- 1:04:54Yeah, so the cops are? Profiling the killer.
- 1:04:56They're trying to figure out who it could be.
- 1:04:59They just have like a basic idea of what it is.
- 1:05:01Meanwhile, they can't trace the phone either because.
- 1:05:03Whenever it's not like actively posting, it's turned off.
- 1:05:07Yeah, Jess is. Watching the footage from the
- 1:05:11backups. Yep, and she prints some.
- 1:05:14Photos and she's sneaking out right as Thomas walks in and he
- 1:05:18apologizes well also before. That she saw Ryan and his friend
- 1:05:23hugging Doug. Yeah.
- 1:05:24The security guards. So she's like OK, there's
- 1:05:26something suspicious with Ryan. So yeah, Thomas is there.
- 1:05:31Apologizes about overworking being.
- 1:05:35Absent after her mom died and then he just generally for
- 1:05:38Kathleen. Yeah.
- 1:05:39Just for Kathleen. Yeah, I'm.
- 1:05:41Sorry. Just right, Kelly.
- 1:05:42See. The thing is, this guy, he's.
- 1:05:45Like, he plays assholes well, but it's kind of cool seeing him
- 1:05:49like, play like, you know, like a real grounded type of person.
- 1:05:53Like, yeah, this is asshole moments in this movie for sure,
- 1:05:55but he also has moments like this.
- 1:05:56He's like, you know what? I didn't realize I was being an
- 1:05:58asshole and I'm sorry. And honestly, the overworking
- 1:06:00thing. In terms of grief is very real.
- 1:06:05Like, it makes sense. Yeah.
- 1:06:06And even though it sucks because he had a daughter that needed
- 1:06:10him, he was also dealing with heavy shit.
- 1:06:12Like, it's just one of those situations that just sucks all
- 1:06:14around. Yeah, so they go.
- 1:06:16Jess and Bobby go to see Eric at the police station.
- 1:06:19They're pointing out some of the people on the footage that just
- 1:06:23watched. So, like, we've got the Hanover
- 1:06:25kids. Lonnie and I didn't get the
- 1:06:28cheerleader's name. It's like Ashley or Kayla or
- 1:06:30something like that. We've got the Turkey kid,
- 1:06:34Leonard. He, he's always the Turkey in
- 1:06:35the parade. We've got Lizzie from the diner,
- 1:06:37of course. And then unfortunately, there is
- 1:06:43Ryan hugging Doug. Yeah.
- 1:06:46So they're. Like, OK, well, you.
- 1:06:48Know keep an eye. Out on him we got.
- 1:06:50We cut to class and. Kids are reading their
- 1:06:52Thanksgiving essays out loud. And first of all, I gotta say, I
- 1:06:55love this character. Chad, I believe, is his name.
- 1:06:58Yeah. And he he knows what he's doing.
- 1:07:01He's playing the sensitive artist, but who's also just kind
- 1:07:04of fucking ripped. Yeah, because he wipes the tears
- 1:07:07away and. Pulls his shirt up and just
- 1:07:08reveals his ass. Yeah.
- 1:07:11And then it's. Evan's trying to read afterwards
- 1:07:14and he starts reading and this is the essay that Jacob wrote
- 1:07:17for him that Evan didn't pay for.
- 1:07:22He's owed him money for it. Didn't pay for the previous one
- 1:07:25either. He's like, I'll get you in two
- 1:07:26weeks. He's.
- 1:07:27Like you said that a month ago. So this kid has done a bunch of
- 1:07:29free labor for him and he's not afraid of getting hurt because
- 1:07:33he's Mccarty's little sidekick. So he printed.
- 1:07:37Off the teacher's blog. It was, it was nice.
- 1:07:40She was like that. Was beautiful, Evan.
- 1:07:43Just as beautiful as whenever I wrote that on my blog.
- 1:07:45Yeah, this is. A good whole.
- 1:07:48Review. Yes.
- 1:07:49I wish that there was more from that, honestly.
- 1:07:50Yeah. But you know, it was a funny.
- 1:07:52Moment, yeah. So after class they.
- 1:07:57They. All like their little click goes
- 1:08:00to meet in the school, like salon area.
- 1:08:03Yeah. And they are kind of talking
- 1:08:05about how they just really can't trust anyone.
- 1:08:07They just want to trust their little group.
- 1:08:09And they're like, that includes Ryan.
- 1:08:10We don't trust him either if he was on that she tells him about.
- 1:08:13Ryan's involvement, too. Yeah, so.
- 1:08:17And she keeps ignoring. She's been ignoring calls from
- 1:08:19him for a long time. Yeah.
- 1:08:21And this time she ignores a call and then it cuts to him.
- 1:08:24He's at the float construction for the first shot of him
- 1:08:28getting. Fitted for the outfit and he's
- 1:08:30really good. Dark room.
- 1:08:32It's chilling for a minute. Like I know we already knew who
- 1:08:35the killer was, but seeing him and that mom was like, dude,
- 1:08:37this guy looks like he could have axed several people first.
- 1:08:41I mean, whoa. They do a good job setting him
- 1:08:43up as a red herring. Yeah.
- 1:08:44Yeah. Because like, right after that,
- 1:08:46he goes over to Bobby is like, hey, you know, if you weren't
- 1:08:53leaving town, I would beat the shit out of you right now.
- 1:08:56And then Bobby's like, oh, who says I'm leaving town?
- 1:08:58So, you know, you get an idea. Like, OK, maybe he's just
- 1:09:01jealous. He's a jealous boyfriend and
- 1:09:03that's why he's killing people. I don't know, like, people have
- 1:09:05killed for worse or Dumber reasons than that before.
- 1:09:09So we cut. To an aggressive Hanover gym
- 1:09:12class, and I meant to right that it's aggressively Massachusetts.
- 1:09:19Yeah, very Boston. It is.
- 1:09:22This is. These accents just.
- 1:09:24Punch you right in the face. It's Lonnie.
- 1:09:26He's yeah. I called it the The Boston
- 1:09:29Workout here because he's just yelling at him like all the
- 1:09:34stereotypical Boston shit that you hear and I liked how before
- 1:09:39they mentioned that he's like 30 and he got like held back as
- 1:09:42shit ton of times because he looks way older than everybody.
- 1:09:45I legitimately didn't connect. That that was Lonnie, because in
- 1:09:49the previous scenes he'd had the black eye, so I thought he was a
- 1:09:51coach. No, this is a student.
- 1:09:53Yeah, he's just old enough to be a coach pretty much, and he sees
- 1:09:58his girlfriend, the cheerleader over there by the door and she's
- 1:10:01waving him over, so she wants to do a little tease.
- 1:10:04Can't have sex right now and she is on the trampoline and she is
- 1:10:10going to do a little striptease. I love how it just is like.
- 1:10:14Perfect spotlight for this trampoline in the middle of the
- 1:10:17gym. It's so funny.
- 1:10:18It's like, what the fuck even. Why?
- 1:10:21It's so absurd but you don't even care.
- 1:10:23Massey's watching his neck gets. Broken.
- 1:10:26There's like a great outtake too of it happening where like the
- 1:10:30person like that is supposed to like grab his head and just kind
- 1:10:32of like shoves his head into his belly a little bit.
- 1:10:36The guy's You fixed my nose. You fucking?
- 1:10:38Fixed my nose. Oh, that was.
- 1:10:40Terrible. So yeah, he's got a snap neck
- 1:10:45and then she's like flashing him while she's doing that and then
- 1:10:50like right underneath the knife goes up through the trampoline.
- 1:10:53Doesn't get her like in the trailer, it cuts her heel.
- 1:10:57Yeah. And then it causes her to fall
- 1:10:59on her back and like The thing is like the.
- 1:11:02The knife keeps coming up at various points in the
- 1:11:04trampoline, but because it's a trampoline, she keeps falling
- 1:11:07and bouncing back up and falling again.
- 1:11:08And it's, it's fucked up, but it's also.
- 1:11:11Really funny. It's a really good kill like
- 1:11:14that cut. When it happens to her heel,
- 1:11:16like, yeah, it was really, really good.
- 1:11:20We found out the next. Day that the game is.
- 1:11:21Cancelled. I fucking love this.
- 1:11:23I was like. Oh man, I'm going to just
- 1:11:25fucking. I'm going to go anyways.
- 1:11:26I'm going to go play and then scoop.
- 1:11:28It's like you're going to play football by yourself.
- 1:11:29He's like, yeah, watch. It's like.
- 1:11:32I would love to. See this one person?
- 1:11:34Try and play football all by himself.
- 1:11:36McCarty comes by. I forget.
- 1:11:37Exactly what he did. But I do know that air, like
- 1:11:40everybody starts shouting at him, fires a blunderbuss.
- 1:11:43Oh, OK. And then?
- 1:11:45Eric calls him a fucking Gooba checker.
- 1:11:47I looked this up because I was curious what that meant and
- 1:11:52basically goober. Sometimes it means you're a
- 1:11:56little dumb dumb, but also sometimes it refers to
- 1:11:59ejaculate. And especially in like the
- 1:12:02Massachusetts parlance, a goober checker is like, come shot,
- 1:12:07Yeah. Come.
- 1:12:09Shot. Yeah, basically.
- 1:12:10So if anybody was curious, I did the work for you.
- 1:12:14There you go. I didn't even think about it and
- 1:12:16it even. Said in the pronunciation.
- 1:12:18Guba chaka. Nice.
- 1:12:21Yeah. So Jess is in the school.
- 1:12:25Like, Evan's gonna go change his girlfriend, Gabby's gonna go
- 1:12:29with him. He's just gonna wait for them.
- 1:12:31Well, yeah, so the. Cops are like stick together and
- 1:12:36immediately they split up. Horror movie Horror movie
- 1:12:40tropes. I like how this.
- 1:12:42Movie doesn't shy away. From them.
- 1:12:43Like it's almost like they do it into yes, they're leaning into
- 1:12:46the tropes for. Sure.
- 1:12:47So Gabby gets Evan to come back into the school.
- 1:12:50They're gonna go change in the locker room, among other things.
- 1:12:53And Jess is just, like, waiting and waiting.
- 1:12:56And we see them start to walk back to her.
- 1:12:58And then they get tranquilized, and it cuts.
- 1:13:00And Jess gets a text message saying like, hey, you need to
- 1:13:03come here. And she's, like, trying to find
- 1:13:05them. And when she texts, she hears
- 1:13:07the ping and finds the phone. And that's when she is attacked
- 1:13:11by John Carver. So she runs away.
- 1:13:13She just barely manages to get out of the school.
- 1:13:16And, you know, she's obviously shaking up.
- 1:13:19Dude, you're just like the whole.
- 1:13:21Scene is like, I feel like it deserves some attention.
- 1:13:25Like, yeah, I mean, he chases her into the hair stylist area,
- 1:13:29the cosmetology class. And I love the way that this is,
- 1:13:32like, the way it's shot is perfect.
- 1:13:34And it's a great setup because she's trying to, like, have
- 1:13:37she's having to hide next to the mannequin heads.
- 1:13:40And he's just kind of like, walking around.
- 1:13:41She's reaching over for, like, an object to throw to make a
- 1:13:45distraction. But she accidentally hits the
- 1:13:46Hairspray, which causes it to, like, trigger him.
- 1:13:50And then she picks it up and then, like, sprays his face like
- 1:13:53Mace. Yeah, Yeah.
- 1:13:55I mean, it's not a. Lot but.
- 1:13:56You know, like it's a thing that happened and it's a really cool
- 1:13:59scene. I'm not saying it isn't.
- 1:14:00I just didn't write a whole lot of.
- 1:14:01Details about it? No.
- 1:14:03OK. Yeah, that's all.
- 1:14:04So, yeah, and. Then she makes it out.
- 1:14:07And then she's, she's covered up in Bobby's jacket because
- 1:14:11Bobby's there to come for her. And then whenever first Sheriff.
- 1:14:15Eric Sheriff, if you will, says, dude, like, what details do you
- 1:14:20have about him? And she's like, nothing.
- 1:14:22I saw him for all of two seconds.
- 1:14:23I was busy running. He goes, we'll just try and
- 1:14:25think. It's the little details that
- 1:14:27always give these people away. Yeah.
- 1:14:29So yes then. Bobby.
- 1:14:31Is there 1st and he like puts his jacket around her shoulders
- 1:14:34and is trying and comforter and then Ryan comes up and it's that
- 1:14:37moment that you said. I just said that they have APP
- 1:14:39contest. Honestly, if I were Ryan, I
- 1:14:42would just be done. With.
- 1:14:42It like if if you know, like she's like she's in very flip
- 1:14:47floppy about it. Yeah, like, I mean, you know,
- 1:14:49like, I don't care. Like maybe he's a friend, but I
- 1:14:52mean, he's very much trying to not be a friend.
- 1:14:55I would be like, you know what, if you want to be with him, fuck
- 1:14:56it. I don't give a shit.
- 1:14:57It's not worth my time. Ryan has always been the rebound
- 1:14:59guy. Yeah, that's true.
- 1:15:01Yeah, he should probably. Realize that.
- 1:15:03Yeah. But you know, I I love his move.
- 1:15:05Just like push off the coat and then give her a hug.
- 1:15:08But because they start getting so heated.
- 1:15:10About it, Eric bans them both from the parade, says he better
- 1:15:13not see either of them anywhere near it tomorrow.
- 1:15:15And Jess is like, yeah, two of our friends are missing.
- 1:15:18We don't know where they are. I don't have time to deal with
- 1:15:21whatever this is. So then we get Yulia, Julia's
- 1:15:27dad coming up and he grabs her and he says come, we go.
- 1:15:31And she's like, where are you going?
- 1:15:33Florida. Yeah, I go, OK, I.
- 1:15:35Guess I'm going to Florida and it's like just like what the
- 1:15:38fuck was that talking to scuba and Scuba's like I don't know.
- 1:15:40That's the most he's ever talked to me and that.
- 1:15:44Felt like such a. Believable line for him too,
- 1:15:46like his delivery and. Everything like he's.
- 1:15:48Clearly terrified of the guy, which, yeah, yeah dude, I would
- 1:15:51not want. To date, the mob boss's
- 1:15:53daughter. Know who he reminds me of?
- 1:15:55Yeah. Colossus and Deadpool, yeah, a
- 1:15:58little bit, yeah. Yeah, like in.
- 1:16:00Stature. And accent.
- 1:16:02Accent. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:16:05So. Scuba and Jess.
- 1:16:07They go to Mccarty's house party, and they're like, hey, we
- 1:16:11need weapons. And you think he's gonna sell
- 1:16:12it, but he actually just lets them borrow it.
- 1:16:14And this is where McCarty is like suddenly like on their
- 1:16:17side. Hey guys, we'll feed you guys in
- 1:16:21a little. Bit OK, it's I know it's like
- 1:16:23time, but you guys got fed weightish so you'll you'll
- 1:16:27survive. I also like how he has all the
- 1:16:31guns just like stashed and all of these like really cool
- 1:16:34compartments like one of them is in his stereo.
- 1:16:36The other one is just like in like the little like hidden
- 1:16:39compartment underneath his desk. It's really cool.
- 1:16:41And then like he has, well, he tries to give Jess like a little
- 1:16:46knife and she's like, yeah, like Scuba's got a gun.
- 1:16:48That's all we need. Yeah.
- 1:16:50Yeah, he said. He's.
- 1:16:51Like he likes tactical stuff. So like, the knife is like, it
- 1:16:54hides in a belt. She should have taken it.
- 1:16:56Yeah, she really should have you.
- 1:16:57Can't count on one. I mean because what if scuba?
- 1:16:59Gets killed, yeah, and or what if you guys get split up?
- 1:17:01For some reason, exactly so Yulia's at home.
- 1:17:04And she's packing. Up Her dad is downstairs and he
- 1:17:07get like he's got a cop. It's really funny because
- 1:17:09Yulia's on the phone with scuba while she's packing.
- 1:17:11Face timing, Yeah, and. She he's like.
- 1:17:14Saying that, he went to Gogi again.
- 1:17:15She's like, why do you need a gun?
- 1:17:17If you need like more protection, I can have my dad
- 1:17:20send a cop to be around you guys.
- 1:17:22He's got a cop in our house right now.
- 1:17:24I would feel uneasy with that also.
- 1:17:26Yes, not also because. And downstairs.
- 1:17:28Her dad is giving the cops. And Thanksgiving food and he's
- 1:17:31like, we won't be around you eat.
- 1:17:33It's Thanksgiving and. The cop goes so when the.
- 1:17:36When's the remodel gonna be done?
- 1:17:37And he goes. Never.
- 1:17:41So he goes. Upstairs and then as.
- 1:17:42That happens. John Carver walks in from right
- 1:17:45behind and shoots the cop with the silenced gun.
- 1:17:48Yes. And he drops a corn cob.
- 1:17:50Corn on the cob with some skewers, yes.
- 1:17:55They're like COB holders. Like there's a.
- 1:17:57Specific name for them and I've been trying to skewers.
- 1:18:00Is the term no. Yeah, no.
- 1:18:05There's a. Different term.
- 1:18:06For it. Who cares?
- 1:18:09Corn holders. Corn.
- 1:18:13Corn cob holders so. OK, corn.
- 1:18:17Cob. Holders are now available.
- 1:18:20Look, they've got. The.
- 1:18:22Corn on the ends of them. It's very specific.
- 1:18:25Yes, yes. So.
- 1:18:27As that's all the skewers any pointy object.
- 1:18:31OK as that. Is going on Yulia is upstairs
- 1:18:36and she's continuing to pack I think has he killed does he
- 1:18:40killed dad let me check my no not that hasn't happened yet so.
- 1:18:43Yulia is, she's taking out her contacts.
- 1:18:46She's got a very durable contacts case, actually.
- 1:18:49She's put in the contacts. And so she's doing all this.
- 1:18:52She's still packing. We still see things happening.
- 1:18:54She hears sounds and she calls out for her dad.
- 1:18:58John Carver shoots the guy with the silencer.
- 1:19:00And then, yeah, he shoots the dad, which is what I have
- 1:19:02afterwards. And then she's up there doing
- 1:19:06the contact, removing whatever. And as she's like, yeah, as
- 1:19:10she's moving back and forth from her bedroom to the bathroom, you
- 1:19:14see her walk past the door and you see John Carver hiding
- 1:19:17behind the door there, which I thought that that was a really
- 1:19:19cool shot. So she's over there.
- 1:19:21She's still on FaceTime with scuba, and she's got it propped
- 1:19:24up against the desk. And as she's talking to him, he
- 1:19:27sinks up behind her with the corn cob holders and stabs her
- 1:19:31in both ears with this. So she's now deaf and so.
- 1:19:36Scuba and Jess drive over. They come in with the gun and
- 1:19:42Scuba's like trying to shoot John Carver, but he has Yulia,
- 1:19:46like held hostage. There's a nice up to her throat
- 1:19:49and it's kind of like a tense moment.
- 1:19:51And then John throws her onto the table where some work had
- 1:19:55been done. There's a table saw and he turns
- 1:19:57on the table saw. So she gets killed and we
- 1:19:59forgot. To mention.
- 1:20:00Before that, Ryan, he he explained his cover up for being
- 1:20:05on the video before it was because he had an Adderall hook
- 1:20:07up with one of the security guards there, the one that got
- 1:20:09pinned at the door in the beginning.
- 1:20:11So just to clarify, the adults don't want to.
- 1:20:16Do the parade anymore? But Jess does.
- 1:20:19Want to She wants to use it as a way to draw out the killer and
- 1:20:27Eric says that he can make the warehouse look empty and it can
- 1:20:30be like. Like kind of an ambush.
- 1:20:33Yeah, afterwards to catch him, and Thomas has decided that
- 1:20:37they're also. Closing the store too, which
- 1:20:39Kathleen is not happy about. Yeah.
- 1:20:43So they're at the. Parade.
- 1:20:44Yeah. Amanda's husband, Mitch.
- 1:20:46Which Mitch? Yeah, that's why I wrote him.
- 1:20:48As air but he. Puts on the mask so you think
- 1:20:50he's getting he's getting up to do something at the parade.
- 1:20:53He's not in the rest of the costume, so it's.
- 1:20:55Not really. Like a great red herring.
- 1:20:57No, No, it's not. But.
- 1:20:59If they had kept that deleted scene in from before you would
- 1:21:02think maybe Cardi gives just. A ring, he said.
- 1:21:06It was his dad that he wore at the war and it kept him alive.
- 1:21:10So he says like she should wear it for luck.
- 1:21:13Scuba is on the float with them and he's in his little Pilgrim
- 1:21:17suit. They these are fitted Pilgrim
- 1:21:19suits. How did they get one that fit
- 1:21:21him so fast? I don't know.
- 1:21:23He's just, he's got one of. Those bodies where you can just
- 1:21:26like, fit into anything. So Mitch starts a protest at the
- 1:21:31parade. Basically, hold on, you're
- 1:21:33cutting past the. Mayor dancing in his car, right?
- 1:21:37I'm sorry about that little. Scene because he's in his a
- 1:21:39little convertible. And he's just, yeah, he looks
- 1:21:42like the Numa Numa. It's kind of like the yeah,
- 1:21:44Yeah, it is. Sweet.
- 1:21:45Yeah, they're all having a good time.
- 1:21:46This is very. I know you did last summer too,
- 1:21:49because they're on the floats and they're trying to find any
- 1:21:51of the anybody that looks like the killer out there.
- 1:21:54There's a lot of people wearing the masks.
- 1:21:56Yes, there are a ton of Pilgrim hats and John.
- 1:21:58Carver masks. So like everybody is a suspect.
- 1:22:01And then Mitch comes out and they start a protest, which
- 1:22:04right in front of the right Mark parade, which, you know, causes
- 1:22:08the whole like, commotion. The whole parade has stopped.
- 1:22:11And that's when you see somebody in a clown costume walk out.
- 1:22:15And at first you're like, huh, that's weird.
- 1:22:17Why are they wearing a clown costume?
- 1:22:19Oh, because it's the killer. And the killer knew they were
- 1:22:21going to be looking for somebody in the John Carver mask and
- 1:22:24Pilgrim hat. It's a nice well.
- 1:22:27Like whenever I was watching that originally I was like, why
- 1:22:30is there a quown? I don't know.
- 1:22:31Thanksgiving is close enough to Halloween to wear.
- 1:22:33I could maybe allow it. Yeah, but I like that because, I
- 1:22:36mean, it's the thing from the trailer.
- 1:22:38Like he, you know, gets his head cut off.
- 1:22:40It's the exact same Turkey, too. Yes, Which is cool.
- 1:22:43So chaos ensues. He also has his silencer gun
- 1:22:46here, too, except the tranquilizer gun.
- 1:22:49Yeah. This son has got tranquilizers.
- 1:22:51Yeah, that's what I was going to say it was.
- 1:22:53It was tranquilizers before too. Was it?
- 1:22:55Yeah, I thought it was actually like.
- 1:22:56A gun? No.
- 1:22:58So he just like tranked the cop and the dad.
- 1:23:00He didn't kill them? I don't think so.
- 1:23:03Because it was. It showed the little.
- 1:23:04Tranquilizer. Sticking out of them.
- 1:23:06Oh really? Yeah, I didn't see that.
- 1:23:08I just thought that he. Actually shot them.
- 1:23:09Also, a silencer isn't a type of A.
- 1:23:11Gun it's a type of gun accessory.
- 1:23:13I know. OK, thank you.
- 1:23:14I just I. Had to clarify, I've played
- 1:23:18enough. Video games with guns at this
- 1:23:22point. So I I like how a lot of shit
- 1:23:28goes down here too because it's almost like the mall scene or
- 1:23:30the store scene all over again. Like somebody Rams the truck of
- 1:23:34one of the floats, which causes a pole to go in through the back
- 1:23:38of it and right through a dude's face.
- 1:23:40It's a grandpa's face and. He was in the cab of the truck
- 1:23:43with his wife and two grandkids. And I love this because in all
- 1:23:47of the like deleted scenes and art, in all of the outtakes, it
- 1:23:50just kept cutting to the scene of those little girls, bloodier
- 1:23:53and bloodier, screaming more and more.
- 1:23:56So also like there was a lot of shots of that.
- 1:23:58Shot of the pole going through his face getting fucked up.
- 1:24:02Like it could have looked really silly but they got a really cool
- 1:24:05take right there. So the clown goes over to the
- 1:24:09other float that has, suggesting them in.
- 1:24:13It Yeah. Well, actually they are hopping
- 1:24:15in the cop car, Yeah, no, the deputy is trying to get.
- 1:24:19Them out of there and he's got them in the back seat, but he
- 1:24:22gets tranquilized and then the rest of them get tranquilized as
- 1:24:25well. Yeah, he tosses like a flash
- 1:24:27bang inside. The car which disorients them
- 1:24:29too, and then he just drives away.
- 1:24:33So, Kathleen? Wakes up and.
- 1:24:34She is in a kitchen on a table and she sees John Carver like
- 1:24:39cooking so she pretends to still be knocked out and then she gets
- 1:24:43like buttered up and it's really gross.
- 1:24:46How does she stay still as that brush was going over her face?
- 1:24:50That and also getting like garlic salt.
- 1:24:52And shit like that in her eyes. Yeah, I like this.
- 1:24:55Though it's. Cool, Like it.
- 1:24:57It's just shots of him cooking. Yeah, You know, the way that
- 1:25:01they do this is really cool. And then he goes over to the.
- 1:25:03I'm glad that this is a shorter scene than.
- 1:25:05What we get in the alternate cut, because the alternate cut
- 1:25:07goes on just a little bit too long.
- 1:25:08It's, I mean, yeah, yeah, but. I like how he goes over to the
- 1:25:12oven and he sets his mask on top of it and then it kind of like
- 1:25:15burns it a little bit, which gives it an interesting.
- 1:25:18We thought maybe Halloween kills so much to that right there.
- 1:25:21But it could be like anything. It also feels like almost.
- 1:25:25Like Phantom of the Opera ask, I'm pretty sure there is a
- 1:25:29moment in one of the Star Wars movies where Vader's mask is
- 1:25:32destroyed in the new trilogy. Yeah, it could be a lot, yeah.
- 1:25:37It's a very. Well known like visual motif in
- 1:25:40movies, it gives them a really cool look.
- 1:25:42Here, Yeah. So she while he was doing that,
- 1:25:47she had gotten up and she snuck upstairs and.
- 1:25:50She is like. Sneaking.
- 1:25:55Around, she's trying to find a way out.
- 1:25:56One of the windows is boarded up and so she gets a bottle opener
- 1:26:00that's like on the fridge, and she is using that to try and,
- 1:26:04like, ply out boards. Except the fridge opens up and
- 1:26:07the cheerleader's body is in there.
- 1:26:09Guess what? She's still alive.
- 1:26:10Yeah. I can't believe she's still
- 1:26:11alive. After all of the.
- 1:26:13Shit that she like. Suffered on that trampoline,
- 1:26:15yeah, but she. Hears John Carver coming up the
- 1:26:20stairs, so she hides. And she, like, tells the Sheila
- 1:26:23she needs to be quiet. And she leaves little bloody
- 1:26:25footprints and she thinks that she's gonna get caught.
- 1:26:29But then John Carver walks out, so she's like, OK, cool, I'm
- 1:26:31cool. Except he was actually still
- 1:26:33waiting there the whole time. It was a fake out.
- 1:26:35He stabs, but she keeps running. She manages to get out the front
- 1:26:38door. And we think she's gonna run
- 1:26:39into the woods. And then he, like, throws his
- 1:26:41pitchfork like a spear and it lands on her back.
- 1:26:44And then he pulls her back in and puts her in the oven.
- 1:26:48Yeah. And got.
- 1:26:50The shots of her actually bacon in the OK, you get her skin
- 1:26:54actually frying. Yeah, it's just got butter on
- 1:26:56her too. So, you know, it's like, Oh my
- 1:26:58God, those parts probably. Would have like blistered and he
- 1:27:02at one point stabbed her with a thermometer which pops out.
- 1:27:06Yeah, yeah, that. Was funny, old gag.
- 1:27:09As he's about to leave, we see he's got.
- 1:27:11A stack of John Carver masks, so he swaps it out for a fresh one.
- 1:27:14Why even do that then? Is he just wanting to do that
- 1:27:17for this one kill? What do you mean?
- 1:27:22Have the mask. Modified he he.
- 1:27:25It seemed intentional. I don't think it was
- 1:27:27intentional. I.
- 1:27:28Think he just had a dumb dumb moment and like set up cheap
- 1:27:30plastic mask on top of the hot oven.
- 1:27:32Well, he like go. He checks himself out in the.
- 1:27:34Mirror for a minute after that and he like you know he's like
- 1:27:37fuck yeah this is cool yeah I think like it was accidental and
- 1:27:40he. Was like whatever, I'll run with
- 1:27:42it. But like going back out into
- 1:27:44public it it eliminates some of his.
- 1:27:46I guess that's true. Yeah.
- 1:27:48So. OK, so the citizens have.
- 1:27:52Formed a mob outside the police station because of the events
- 1:27:55that happened at the parade and they're wanting answers.
- 1:27:58The cops are tracing a live stream.
- 1:27:59That's currently ongoing. All of the people that have been
- 1:28:03abducted are sitting at the table and they, you know, like
- 1:28:10whatever is about to happen is about to happen.
- 1:28:12So they've got it traced to like a specific area.
- 1:28:16It was like Cordage Park, I think, is what he said.
- 1:28:18I'm not sure they pinned it down.
- 1:28:19They pinned the. Location, so they're going to
- 1:28:21like at least send people there, but when they get there, they
- 1:28:24don't see. Anything.
- 1:28:25And that's when they realize there's tunnels.
- 1:28:27And the deleted scene shows the tunnel man telling them about
- 1:28:31the whole tunnel system. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:28:34So and the SWAT storms the tunnels and they get there and
- 1:28:38then by the time that they make it to where the signals coming
- 1:28:40from, it's a setup. It's like a decoy.
- 1:28:42It's very like Saw too. Yeah, it's.
- 1:28:45I get set. Up with a stream of them at the
- 1:28:48dinner table. Yeah.
- 1:28:51So, John. Carver's now.
- 1:28:52Speaking, he's telling them that they're all going to share what
- 1:28:55they are thankful for. And it starts with Evan, because
- 1:28:59the whole thing started out of his video there and inspired the
- 1:29:04killer to start taking his own things into his own hands first,
- 1:29:08he reveals Kathleen and. Says she's been baking all day.
- 1:29:11She appreciate this. And then he says a cheer from
- 1:29:14our cheerleader and unquirks her neck and props to the sound guy
- 1:29:18who put that perfect in there. Yeah, I like, he's like, yeah.
- 1:29:22Sure. Also, I like that it was chilled
- 1:29:25wine. Like he he like made a point.
- 1:29:27Like, yeah, it's chill. Oh my God, I didn't even make
- 1:29:30that. Connection.
- 1:29:31Yeah, it's like you're going to want to let this breathe.
- 1:29:33Yeah, he's like it'll. Pair nicely with.
- 1:29:35Kathleen So yeah, they all have. To give their.
- 1:29:38Thanks On an Instagram live video.
- 1:29:40And Evan is first, like you said, because you know, he
- 1:29:44started this all off with his viral video and then he tries to
- 1:29:48give where their location is. He's like, we're in an old
- 1:29:51house. And then of course, the the meat
- 1:29:54hammer comes down on his head. Yeah, bashes it open.
- 1:29:58And everybody's just liking the video and.
- 1:30:00That's sociopathic, yeah. Would you think that it's real?
- 1:30:05I could also like in this day and age, like this is like a
- 1:30:07thing like you see shit like this all the time, like AR GS
- 1:30:10where you you. Never know.
- 1:30:13Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:30:15I don't. I don't really know.
- 1:30:18So let's see where we're at. Oh.
- 1:30:21He gives Thomas a slice of Kathleen, and Jess is realizing
- 1:30:26that the ring she got from McCarty is actually another
- 1:30:28piece of tactical equipment, and it's got a knife in it.
- 1:30:31So she uses it to saw through the rope.
- 1:30:33And then she passes it over to Scuba, who saw us through the
- 1:30:37rope as well, and then jumps up, hits John Harbor, and they go
- 1:30:40running. And he follows.
- 1:30:42They get into a scuffle, he stabs Scuba, Scuba's down for
- 1:30:46the count, and he chases Jess through the wood.
- 1:30:48She just barely makes it over a fence in time.
- 1:30:52And when she does, she gets to the middle of town and finds
- 1:30:56Eric pass out and bloody in the middle of the street.
- 1:31:00And she's, like, trying to get him up.
- 1:31:01And she looks over, sees the warehouse store closing and
- 1:31:03somebody walking in. She sees John Carver.
- 1:31:05Like, yeah. And when she goes in there, she
- 1:31:08finds. Bobby in the John Carver mat,
- 1:31:10like taking the John Carver mask and hat off.
- 1:31:12And in that moment, Eric appears and he's like, OK, what's going
- 1:31:17on? She's like, it's Bobby.
- 1:31:19Bobby's in here. And he's like, OK, go outside.
- 1:31:21And then she goes outside and we hear gunshots and that's when
- 1:31:25the rest of the cops arrive. So the deputy.
- 1:31:29Says that he is going to need Eric's service weapons since
- 1:31:32rounds were fired so he doesn't have his gun anymore.
- 1:31:36Thomas, Gabby and Scuba are all at the hospital, and Eric's plan
- 1:31:42is that he's just going to take Jess to the hospital as well.
- 1:31:44Just a moment. They're just finishing up
- 1:31:46collecting some evidence. Like they've got Bobby's phone
- 1:31:48and evidence back on the table, stuff like that.
- 1:31:50They've got John Carpenter's. Phone still logged into John
- 1:31:54Carpenter. John Carver's phone still logged
- 1:31:57into the account, Yes, but they listed it as Bobby because at
- 1:32:00that. Point.
- 1:32:01He was right. That didn't even click.
- 1:32:03Yeah, so Jess is there, left alone with Eric.
- 1:32:08And then they start talking. And then she notices his shoes.
- 1:32:12Yeah, she'd just been picking brambles.
- 1:32:13Off of her own pants from her run through the woods.
- 1:32:16And she looks down and sees the brambles on his pants and she
- 1:32:20tries to say like, I just want to go and he looks down, sees
- 1:32:24the brambles as well and he's like so close.
- 1:32:27If only you were stuck on the fence of A.
- 1:32:28Second longer. That's what it says.
- 1:32:31So say that he had Bobby all dressed up in the outfit to be
- 1:32:35set up as the killer, but he woke up and hit him with a tire
- 1:32:40and it ran off. Yep, and this.
- 1:32:43Is when he reveals that he and Amanda had had an affair and she
- 1:32:47was. Pregnant with his.
- 1:32:48Child And so when she died basically that took away what he
- 1:32:53thought was going to be his family because he said Amanda
- 1:32:55was planning to leave Mitch and she he's about to kill her and
- 1:33:00she's like, hey, don't you want to know what I'm thankful for?
- 1:33:03He's like, oh. OK, that was theatrical, but
- 1:33:08sure. And she goes, I'm thankful that
- 1:33:09we get good service in this warehouse and she had the phone
- 1:33:13streaming the whole time. So they start to have.
- 1:33:18Like a little scuffle. There and then as they're
- 1:33:20scuffling, Bobby throws a baseball through the window and
- 1:33:23it hits rehab then. Yeah, so.
- 1:33:27They are trying to get. Out of the warehouse, it's like
- 1:33:29a big cat and cat and mouse game.
- 1:33:32They set a float to basically like overinflate, kind of create
- 1:33:38an obstacle and whatnot. And they get into Bobby's
- 1:33:40uncle's truck. And as they're starting to drive
- 1:33:42away, Eric gets up to it and he wraps the tow line around a
- 1:33:46pillar. And because it's, you know,
- 1:33:47really strong, they can't really drive through it.
- 1:33:50So he's getting up to the truck, he's about to attack.
- 1:33:54But she found the musket and she, cuz they made this whole
- 1:33:59point about how she'd learned to shoot a musket for one of the
- 1:34:01past commercials. Her dad was big on authenticity
- 1:34:04and she had to practice. So she, she is about to shoot
- 1:34:08and at first you can see he's like, come on, really a musket.
- 1:34:11And then she points it at the Turkey float and shoots that and
- 1:34:15causes an explosion. Yeah, like a it's.
- 1:34:19Not even like a gigantic explosion, No.
- 1:34:21And he's not. Eric is not that far away from
- 1:34:25Jess and Bobby who are both fine.
- 1:34:28I don't know if it was in. The original scene, but we were
- 1:34:31watching the alternate scene like the alternate ending here
- 1:34:34and you can see him very clearly just jump forward and land on
- 1:34:36the ground like it doesn't like blow him up in any like the
- 1:34:39flames don't reach him at all. Yes, but.
- 1:34:43You know, still we have cops talking later saying that
- 1:34:46there's only ash inside that building.
- 1:34:48No, nobody could have survived. But still, they're going to put
- 1:34:51out a BOLO, so yeah, whatever. Jess and.
- 1:34:55Ryan. It cuts to Jess and Ryan asleep
- 1:34:57in bed and she hears a sound. She gets up and chips kid from
- 1:35:02the closet. Eric on fire.
- 1:35:06Yeah, yeah. In the extended scene, she.
- 1:35:09Wakes up in the. Car yeah driving somewhere yeah
- 1:35:12and the cop car like the. Cop is driving her to the hostel
- 1:35:14or whatever. I'm glad that they cut that.
- 1:35:16That wasn't really needed. Yeah, yeah, like you said, it
- 1:35:18felt. Like a very.
- 1:35:18Like, I know what you did last summer ending.
- 1:35:21Yeah. And I think that really fits the
- 1:35:23general mood of this movie. Yeah.
- 1:35:24Is that right? And you know what?
- 1:35:27I think I'll agree with you. And I will bump it up to 9.5.
- 1:35:30Cool, I'm gonna keep it at 95. It's not quite a 10, but you
- 1:35:34know, that's a really fucking good movie.
- 1:35:36I love this movie a lot. Like I said, I.
- 1:35:39I wish we cut down on a couple of characters so we could see
- 1:35:42more of some of the other ones, you know, I guess like, yeah.
- 1:35:48The ending could have been better.
- 1:35:50I'm not too mad about the ending.
- 1:35:52Well, I mean, just make it more believable.
- 1:35:54You know, like, if you're going to try and sell it, like, oh,
- 1:35:57the guy couldn't have survived this.
- 1:35:58Whatever. Like, get him in a situation
- 1:36:01where you actually are like, damn.
- 1:36:03Like, is he dead? I don't know.
- 1:36:05Also, there was a firefighter that walked out at the end.
- 1:36:08Did you mention that? No.
- 1:36:10Oh yeah, that. Just.
- 1:36:12Notices that she thinks could be Eric because he's got a mask on
- 1:36:16still and could be pulling an old Michael Myers where he got
- 1:36:19like a uniform and snuck out. But I mean, I'm just trying to
- 1:36:25think of things to change because we got to have something
- 1:36:27to change. And here's a, say, focus on more
- 1:36:31of the characters. Yeah.
- 1:36:34But where would you? Do that even.
- 1:36:38I don't know off the top of my head.
- 1:36:40Yeah, it's just I. Guess you maybe?
- 1:36:43Extend the movie a little bit, but.
- 1:36:44Yeah, well, my thought is to cut some of the other.
- 1:36:47Characters maybe, that we don't even just kind of focus on as
- 1:36:50much that way. We can get.
- 1:36:51A little bit more time with some of the others.
- 1:36:53OK, I suppose you could do that, yeah.
- 1:36:55Like we don't need the whole side plot about.
- 1:36:56Evan's essay and Jacob no, you really don't like it was a
- 1:37:00little. Bit of humor, but yeah, other
- 1:37:03than that, it didn't really serve much of A purpose.
- 1:37:06OK, cool. What did Italia think?
- 1:37:11Well, she wanted to go outside. During the cold open, she also
- 1:37:15thinks that people shouldn't behave like that on
- 1:37:17Thanksgiving. And then she was pretty sleepy
- 1:37:20for the rest of the movie. The cat got fed though and even
- 1:37:24though Italia is not a cat herself, she is related to a few
- 1:37:28cats so she appreciates that they got to eat and they weren't
- 1:37:32killed. So I think Talia will give this
- 1:37:33an 8 because the cat ate OK. That's appropriate.
- 1:37:39Zoe's ultimate warrior. Dewey.
- 1:37:42Dewey. Yeah, it is Dewey.
- 1:37:44Yeah. That's a no brainer, yeah.
- 1:37:46That's true. I didn't even think about that.
- 1:37:48All right. What are your hopes?
- 1:37:50And dreams for the upcoming sequel.
- 1:37:58That's a good question. So like, are we doing Dream
- 1:38:01sequel? Yeah, OK.
- 1:38:05I think following. If we're winning in the tropes
- 1:38:10of other movies, I think take it to college because it's like
- 1:38:15Scream. 2. OK.
- 1:38:17And I mean, I think they seem like they're at the end of their
- 1:38:21high school career. Thomas, did he die?
- 1:38:24No, he's. Yeah, He's alive.
- 1:38:26Yeah. Right.
- 1:38:26You said he's returning. Yeah.
- 1:38:28OK. So like, I guess they could be
- 1:38:30in college, but I mean, they're coming home for Thanksgiving
- 1:38:33dinner. So that type of thing, I think
- 1:38:37it would be funny. To set it.
- 1:38:39On Black Friday and have like a whole elaborate trap inside of
- 1:38:43the store. That would be interesting, Yeah,
- 1:38:46because. Like that's.
- 1:38:47Gonna be so wild because there's so many people like like and it
- 1:38:51would be so easy. To.
- 1:38:53Like it's kind of that element of like things like the movie
- 1:38:57haunt, you know, where they're out in public and you feel like
- 1:39:00you should be safe being around that many people, but actually
- 1:39:03it's like that many more people around you that could cause
- 1:39:05destruction that also I wonder if.
- 1:39:08Like I mean, cause like if you're doing it on a Black
- 1:39:11Friday, it's going to be chaos. So like maybe you have a
- 1:39:14collection moment where you kill off like the crowd and one big
- 1:39:18moment like a big chunk of them and have like a chunk of them
- 1:39:23left that is like the core group that we follow.
- 1:39:27I don't want that until closer to the end though.
- 1:39:29No, no, OK, because I want. To have enough like.
- 1:39:33Playing around with the large crowds, OK.
- 1:39:38I guess you can make that work. Yeah.
- 1:39:42Yeah, you can maybe make that work.
- 1:39:44It'd be interesting. I'd like to see that.
- 1:39:48Who did? You relate to.
- 1:39:50I relate to heaven with the. Fight video stuff, honestly,
- 1:39:54like that's the type of shit that I'm into and he's clearly
- 1:39:57into it too, so I really wanna see his YouTube channel.
- 1:40:03I relate to. Yulia cuz my mom speaks Russian
- 1:40:07and I fucking love the good Q-tip moment you also do.
- 1:40:12Contacts and creep me. Out with your contacts too.
- 1:40:15Intentionally creep you out with my.
- 1:40:16Contacts you did the other day, I just made a.
- 1:40:18Point of telling you that I was. Putting my contacts in that's
- 1:40:21intentionally creeping me out with your.
- 1:40:22Contacts. I want cute little frog contact.
- 1:40:27Case liquor, though, yeah. OK, you got a review for us, I.
- 1:40:32Do wait. No, no.
- 1:40:34Tagline Tagline. Yeah, yeah, I almost wanna
- 1:40:38steal. Texas Chainsaw.
- 1:40:39It will survive in what will be left with them.
- 1:40:42That's kinda good. I mean it's really good though
- 1:40:44obviously finger licking good. I think something with that
- 1:40:50carved. Because you get some carving
- 1:40:53going on with cutting people and also John Carver is the killer.
- 1:40:57Save room for dessert. And death.
- 1:41:01OK, I like that. That's kind of fitting for this
- 1:41:04type of movie here Thanksgiving Thanksgiving OK got reviews now
- 1:41:09yes so as. I said before this is a an IMDb
- 1:41:14review and I picked something that was oh boy wrong tab.
- 1:41:21This is a 2 out of 10 because all of the one out of 10s were
- 1:41:27less than constructive. It's just a holiday themed.
- 1:41:32Scream slash I know what you did last summer and not as good as
- 1:41:35either. The performances were decent
- 1:41:37enough, but that wasn't enough to overcome the terrible
- 1:41:39material. Every cliche and trope you can
- 1:41:41think of gets nailed, including the ham fisted 1 liners that
- 1:41:44were only somewhat clever in the late 90s early 2000s.
- 1:41:48As a fan of some of Eli's work, this was a huge disappointment
- 1:41:52if you are a fan. Of the genre you'll correctly.
- 1:41:54Guess the killer within the first few minutes of the film,
- 1:41:56then spend the rest of the time raging at the cluelessly written
- 1:41:58characters as to why they can't figure out who it is.
- 1:42:01There are better ways to waste your hour and 45 minutes.
- 1:42:04Do yourself a favor and skip it, OK?
- 1:42:07So I. Picked that.
- 1:42:09Specifically because of what I said at the beginning where Eli
- 1:42:12Roth made a movie he wanted to watch and you can definitely
- 1:42:16feel his love for the schlocky grindhouse stuff.
- 1:42:19Even though this isn't a grindhouse movie, you can feel
- 1:42:23where that inspiration is coming from with it including the like
- 1:42:27terrible 1 liners and the over the top kills and people missing
- 1:42:31like the obvious hints. It also does feel like a tribute
- 1:42:34to those 90s. Slashers too, though, like that.
- 1:42:37I know he the last summer in the Scream.
- 1:42:39I would say the only difference between those two that I would
- 1:42:41agree with is like, I don't think the cast of the
- 1:42:46protagonists that we follow are as engaging as the ones from
- 1:42:51those movies. Yeah, like, really, I don't care
- 1:42:54so much about Jessica. They didn't really build her up
- 1:42:56as like a super compelling character.
- 1:42:58Yeah, we don't get a lot of them as.
- 1:42:59Characters. But again, here's the thing, is
- 1:43:03that those are the types of movies that Eli Roth loves.
- 1:43:06He famously loves to tell the story about how they watched
- 1:43:08Mother's Day in his bar mitzvah. Yeah, I love this too.
- 1:43:11So. I think I.
- 1:43:13Get that from a point of like I want to watch movies that have
- 1:43:16XYZ but also you're watching an Eli Roth movie.
- 1:43:20He made the movie he wanted to watch, and if it's not for you,
- 1:43:24that is fine and great and dandy, but I think this is
- 1:43:28exactly what he wanted to put out into the world.
- 1:43:30Yeah, I agree and I'm. Happy that he did it because you
- 1:43:34know, it's my jam too. His stuff right there.
- 1:43:36The type of movie that he made is kind of made for me, yes.
- 1:43:39But if you have a different style.
- 1:43:40And movie, this probably won't be a movie for you.
- 1:43:43No, if people. Sold it to you as like a scream.
- 1:43:46I know you did last summer and then you get this.
- 1:43:48Like, I wouldn't say you should be disappointed, but maybe if
- 1:43:52you did want, like, people to follow that you care about,
- 1:43:55maybe that's the thing that's missing.
- 1:43:57Yeah, that would be the only thing that I could think of
- 1:43:59because it nails everything else pretty well.
- 1:44:02OK, that's fair enough. Yeah.
- 1:44:04Do we get any listener? Reviews.
- 1:44:05We do. We got quite a bit cool.
- 1:44:08So. Let's start.
- 1:44:11Off over on Instagram. First up, cube saves.
- 1:44:16Says nobody in Plymouth sounds like that.
- 1:44:19South Shore accents are a lot scummier.
- 1:44:23I'll. Take your word for it.
- 1:44:24Yeah, I. This it's.
- 1:44:27Probably how like there are some people up north.
- 1:44:29I think all Southern accents sound the same.
- 1:44:31I feel like this is our version of that.
- 1:44:33Probably, Yeah. I didn't even consider.
- 1:44:35That. But yeah, there's probably some
- 1:44:38big differences with that right there.
- 1:44:40It was very. It felt stereotypical, yeah, But
- 1:44:44you know, I think I didn't have a problem with it.
- 1:44:48I just think it was. Sam Adams Commercial.
- 1:44:50Your cousin from Boston? Yeah, Michael E Howard says
- 1:44:55there. Will be no leftovers despite a
- 1:44:57few funny Turkey time movies. We have been in need of a really
- 1:45:00good slasher for a while. Thanksgiving brings all the
- 1:45:03fixings. More.
- 1:45:04We'll have some of the kills, trampling death and cooking
- 1:45:06someone for dinner and the fun tone. 8 out of 10 for me.
- 1:45:10Nice. Yeah, those.
- 1:45:12Are I think. This movie has some amazing
- 1:45:14kills for sure. They go hard on that stuff
- 1:45:17because I think that they know that that's the bread and butter
- 1:45:20of yeah, what people really want from this.
- 1:45:23Also, you know that who don't aspect is kind of cool too.
- 1:45:27But yeah, I don't know. I like this too.
- 1:45:29I like the vibe of it too. The whole tone over on OK.
- 1:45:36Did that? No.
- 1:45:37Here we go over on blue. Sky, we have Joe Frecotron.
- 1:45:41This is his name. Who says I'm not an EOI?
- 1:45:45Roth Films. Guy.
- 1:45:46But this one is incredible. I thought too much time had
- 1:45:49passed since Grindhouse for this to deliver on the fun of that
- 1:45:52fake trailer, and I was wrong. The Black Friday scene was
- 1:45:55easily one of the best of 2023. Big time my buddy Valentine
- 1:45:59vibes. It's a nine out of 10.
- 1:46:00I didn't even think of that, but yeah, I could see that too.
- 1:46:04All right, you know what? I actually, there were moments
- 1:46:06where I mixed up scenes in my head.
- 1:46:09I was thinking of Carter being one of the cops in this for some
- 1:46:12reason. Carter your Dick because?
- 1:46:15He's a cop in the my. Bloody Valentine remake.
- 1:46:17Yeah. And then War Zombie says this
- 1:46:20movie was great. Wacky, over the top corn kills,
- 1:46:23real call back to a classic slasher.
- 1:46:25Great to also have another Thanksgiving horror movie highly
- 1:46:28recommended. All right, yeah, I agree.
- 1:46:31I mean, you know, they were mentioning how there was a lack
- 1:46:34of it too. They were in disbelief that they
- 1:46:37hadn't really, nobody had really capitalized on Thanksgiving as a
- 1:46:41horror movie before. So.
- 1:46:43And I think this is the. Thing that we talked about, like
- 1:46:46you and I talk about in our personal lives, how they're
- 1:46:50like, we go from Halloween movies to Christmas movies
- 1:46:53pretty quickly in our house because we save the handful of
- 1:46:56Thanksgiving movies we have for like the week of and part of the
- 1:47:00week before. So we don't, you know, we don't
- 1:47:03run out of them before Thanksgiving happens.
- 1:47:05And we have so many Christmas movies both of like horror and
- 1:47:10like the cheesy Hallmark, Netflix, Lifetime.
- 1:47:12There's plenty that we've not even seen yet.
- 1:47:14Yes, and so. Like.
- 1:47:16I'd remember one year we were trying to like, look for even a
- 1:47:19cheesy Hallmark Thanksgiving movies, and we found one and it
- 1:47:22was like a pumpkin pie contest. No, I saw one on Pluto earlier.
- 1:47:25Today. Perfect.
- 1:47:27Yeah, it was playing. I was like, oh.
- 1:47:28This is cool. But I just feel like there's so
- 1:47:30much that's. Available there for that kind of
- 1:47:32stuff too and I think it would be interesting to explore that
- 1:47:35some. So it's it it just.
- 1:47:37Is kind of really surprising that people like it's it really
- 1:47:42isn't overlooked holiday and then there's a lot that can be
- 1:47:44talked about. With it, and I think especially
- 1:47:46with like, horror, my God, there's so much that is just
- 1:47:50able to be there and be unpacked.
- 1:47:52And like, we've only kind of skimmed the surface of it with
- 1:47:55him cooking a human alive. Like, think about some of the
- 1:47:58other gnarly shit you could do that's like food themed kills.
- 1:48:01Yeah. I mean, I think it's prime time.
- 1:48:03For a cannibal movie, yeah. So for sure.
- 1:48:07I I just think there's a lot of. Opportunities.
- 1:48:09So it would be really nice to see this get a little bit of an
- 1:48:11uptick in in movie recognition. I wanna see.
- 1:48:15I wanna see a. Wrong turn.
- 1:48:16Sequel. Set on Thanksgiving.
- 1:48:18Oh my God. Honestly, I wanna.
- 1:48:20See how they would handle that. Do you think they celebrate?
- 1:48:24Thanksgiving. I think every day is
- 1:48:26Thanksgiving. For them, they're grateful for
- 1:48:28all of their food. They hoot and.
- 1:48:30Holler and hold. Hands and give thanks man.
- 1:48:35Yeah, they just live life like Thanksgivings every day, all
- 1:48:39right, I think. That might be it.
