- 0:35Speaker 1: Yes, how are you?
- 0:36Speaker 2: How are you doing?
- 0:37Speaker 1: I'm good, Tiet, I'm good.
- 0:38Speaker 2: How are you good? Your new album has been out
- 0:40Speaker 2: for a couple of weeks, now, how's it feel?
- 0:42Speaker 1: It feels good. I think we're approaching on our second
- 0:44Speaker 1: week right now.
- 0:45Speaker 2: So are you feeling like, you know, like I feel
- 0:47Speaker 2: like when the albums drop, it's like the work just begins. Yeah,
- 0:51Speaker 2: you gotta do all the running around and yeah.
- 0:53Speaker 1: It's a lot. This is actually like New York Press
- 0:56Speaker 1: was crazy, Atlanta Press was kind of crazy, but you know,
- 0:58Speaker 1: at least kind of more subtle, more chill. Yeah.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Yeah, for people who don't know you're from. Okay, so
- 1:04Speaker 2: you raped Jersey, but you grew up in New York.
- 1:06Speaker 2: Give me the bread, give me a little bit of both.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Yeah, definitely. So early childhood in New York and then
- 1:10Speaker 1: I moved to Jersey into high school there.
- 1:12Speaker 2: So so you rapped Jersey?
- 1:14Speaker 1: Yeah, what part strange?
- 1:15Speaker 2: Okay, I've only been I went to uh what part
- 1:18Speaker 2: of Jersey? Do we go to? Jersey City?
- 1:20Speaker 1: Yeah, not too far.
- 1:21Speaker 2: We were in what's the name of that rapper that
- 1:23Speaker 2: we shot with? Oh he put honey He put a
- 1:26Speaker 2: honey pack in his honey bun. Hold on now, he
- 1:31Speaker 2: just got out of prison.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Yes, Jersey, Jersey City.
- 1:35Speaker 2: We went to like his corner store and he did
- 1:39Speaker 2: the most wild ship. He took like the mail and
- 1:41Speaker 2: handster honey pack and he put it in his in
- 1:44Speaker 2: his food.
- 1:44Speaker 1: I'll be that's crazy.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Shout to Jersey though. Man, there was the honey bun
- 1:49Speaker 2: and the honeypack combo. Who would have thought crazy? So
- 1:52Speaker 2: your new album's called Soul, what's the acronym stand for.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Signs of Universal Love. Okay, yeah, I like that. Yes,
- 1:59Speaker 1: it's a vibe. It's all about zodiac signs.
- 2:01Speaker 2: So it's like, you believe in zodiac signs.
- 2:03Speaker 1: I believe that they govern your temperament. I don't swear
- 2:05Speaker 1: by them.
- 2:06Speaker 2: I always, you know, I didn't, really I'm gonna will.
- 2:10Speaker 2: I almost call myself an a Quemini. That's an outcast album.
- 2:13Speaker 2: I am an aquarius, got it, But I don't know
- 2:16Speaker 2: what that means.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean you can be often detached, you can
- 2:20Speaker 1: be kind of aloof. I feel like it's many qualities
- 2:23Speaker 1: of an Aquarius. But of course it all has to
- 2:25Speaker 1: do with your other placements too. You're more sign your
- 2:28Speaker 1: rising science that that's all important too.
- 2:29Speaker 2: I'm curious, will you, like, let's say, if there's somebody
- 2:34Speaker 2: in your life or let's say in your past, have
- 2:37Speaker 2: you not entertained somebody because of their signs? So you
- 2:42Speaker 2: believe for real, I.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Believe that it controls certain elements of you. It's no,
- 2:45Speaker 1: it's like that can't be no coincidence.
- 2:47Speaker 2: That all y'all act like that, like NA, So if
- 2:49Speaker 2: you're going to like, like, let's say, have you ever
- 2:51Speaker 2: gone on a date with somebody, found out there' zodiac
- 2:53Speaker 2: sign and been like, oh, this would be the last day. Yep. Wow,
- 2:56Speaker 2: I didn't know people like that. Well, it's nice to
- 2:58Speaker 2: meet somebody like that. I always thought that that was
- 3:01Speaker 2: like a myth.
- 3:02Speaker 1: I mean, I wouldn't say my last day, but I
- 3:04Speaker 1: would be like, I'm cautious.
- 3:05Speaker 2: You're cautious. I'd be like, because, like, if everything lines up,
- 3:09Speaker 2: that's good. But then they but they were born in
- 3:11Speaker 2: the wrong month.
- 3:11Speaker 1: It's like, damn, I'm telling you something coming every time?
- 3:15Speaker 2: Every time? So what is your zodiac son?
- 3:18Speaker 1: Cancer?
- 3:18Speaker 2: What's what? I don't know what that means with.
- 3:20Speaker 1: The mother of the zodiac very nurturing, very sensitive, hyper sensitive,
- 3:25Speaker 1: and super moody.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Which sign are you not?
- 3:29Speaker 1: Culture with libras?
- 3:31Speaker 2: Libras, Yeah, Libras are.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Psychopathic, interesting characters. I think great friendships though, Like I
- 3:36Speaker 1: have good friendship.
- 3:37Speaker 2: My my son's mom is a Libra and both of
- 3:41Speaker 2: my sons are libras, And wow, yeah, wow, that's.
- 3:45Speaker 1: A heavy household toxic.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Toxic sign. Is that accurate? Me saying that libras are
- 3:52Speaker 2: the little.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Toxic, manipulative, victimizing, but also super creative, very very good
- 4:00Speaker 1: at what they do. They do something they do at
- 4:01Speaker 1: the best. Yeah, okay, I say that, I for.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Sure shout to the leabers out there. So if you so,
- 4:07Speaker 2: if someone was born in October, they're just done in your.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Late September, I have I don't have no picks toasted
- 4:12Speaker 1: the way.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Yeah, shout out to you. But I didn't know. Is
- 4:15Speaker 2: so you actually so you went to HBC, you went
- 4:18Speaker 2: to Howard and graduated, and then you ended up coming
- 4:20Speaker 2: to the USC and getting a degree. Here was it
- 4:23Speaker 2: a master's? Yeah, you're really smart something.
- 4:26Speaker 1: I say that.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm under So how many years of college did you?
- 4:30Speaker 2: Is that? Like?
- 4:30Speaker 1: I did six? Well? I did? I did five. I
- 4:33Speaker 1: finished my masters in a year, but it was a
- 4:34Speaker 1: two year programs.
- 4:35Speaker 2: What was your master's? By the way, life flex She's like,
- 4:38Speaker 2: I finished my masters in a year.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Ye, I don't want to pay for other year. Yeah,
- 4:43Speaker 1: but I did global medicine.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Global medicine. So what does that mean?
- 4:47Speaker 1: It basically focuses more so in like the administrative side
- 4:51Speaker 1: of things, So you can like work for the u
- 4:53Speaker 1: N or work.
- 4:54Speaker 2: For the w A show or so you could like be.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Yeah right, but not that delusion though, but yeah.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Uh yeah, it's crazy, Like I wonder, like you with
- 5:07Speaker 2: your background, like, how did you feel about like just
- 5:09Speaker 2: the whole vaccine and all that now that we're on
- 5:12Speaker 2: the other side of it. Yeah, and it seems like,
- 5:15Speaker 2: you know, we kind of got like we kind of
- 5:17Speaker 2: got bamboozed a little because I got the JAB. But
- 5:19Speaker 2: I feel like I feel like if I had have
- 5:21Speaker 2: known everything I know now, I would have totally have
- 5:23Speaker 2: just been like, if I get it, it's probably better
- 5:25Speaker 2: if I just get it naturally.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I knew then just from my background.
- 5:30Speaker 1: They didn't know the difference between public health and public safety,
- 5:32Speaker 1: and I think they were confusing the two. But for me,
- 5:35Speaker 1: I never got I never got vaccinated.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Because could you young and healthy, Well.
- 5:40Speaker 1: No, there's you know, cold morbidities that exist in anything.
- 5:43Speaker 1: But I do think that for me, I was like,
- 5:45Speaker 1: there's a certain thing that's heard immunity. After a certain
- 5:47Speaker 1: point in time, everybody has to get it. It's inevitably
- 5:51Speaker 1: going to get you. And if you have something that's
- 5:52Speaker 1: going to defeat you, like if you have a cancer
- 5:55Speaker 1: or an HIV or something like that, are you higher
- 5:57Speaker 1: at risk to be you know more sick than you.
- 6:00Speaker 1: But that's life. This is the common flu.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Yeah, and then the other thing. And there's so much
- 6:05Speaker 2: we can get into. I did get that. I got
- 6:08Speaker 2: the first jab. I didn't get the booster. They couldn't
- 6:11Speaker 2: boost me. Okay, by then I was By the time
- 6:13Speaker 2: I got the booster came around, I was like, I
- 6:15Speaker 2: don't know.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Did you ever have COVID?
- 6:18Speaker 2: I had a fucking four times? Yeah, but you know
- 6:22Speaker 2: it only it never was bad for me though, Like
- 6:26Speaker 2: I had it, and well the first time I had it,
- 6:28Speaker 2: I only knew because I couldn't smell okay, And so
- 6:31Speaker 2: I remember my wife was cooking, and my wife can cook.
- 6:34Speaker 1: She's Mexican, you know, she could go, oh yeah, be
- 6:36Speaker 1: smelling like.
- 6:37Speaker 2: So I was like sitting on the couch. I was
- 6:39Speaker 2: playing video games or something, and I was just like, oh,
- 6:42Speaker 2: you're cooking. And then I was like, oh shit, they
- 6:45Speaker 2: got me. So I walked outside of my patio and
- 6:48Speaker 2: we have like a little pad of grass and my
- 6:49Speaker 2: dog's poop on and I got on my knees and
- 6:52Speaker 2: I sniffed a turd. I swear to god, I didn't
- 6:55Speaker 2: put my nose to it, but I didn't smell the
- 6:56Speaker 2: turd and I was like fuck. I was like it
- 6:59Speaker 2: finally had But again I also was like running around
- 7:02Speaker 2: going to studio sessions. I thought was like, you're outside
- 7:04Speaker 2: for sure. Yeah, I mean for like the first month,
- 7:07Speaker 2: I was inside enjoying it, Yeah, relaxing, catching up on
- 7:10Speaker 2: some tiger king.
- 7:12Speaker 1: I didn't get it for two years. I was I
- 7:13Speaker 1: was one of them people that wore masks everywhere, didn't
- 7:15Speaker 1: go out, and like I was. I knew the risk
- 7:18Speaker 1: of it. I have asthma, so I was like, okay, let.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Me just be careful.
- 7:21Speaker 1: But yeah, I got it after two years. And I
- 7:24Speaker 1: was like expecting a day to come like, oh my god,
- 7:27Speaker 1: because my breathing is compromised. So I'm in a hotel
- 7:29Speaker 1: like quarantine and like what day is it going to
- 7:32Speaker 1: be the worst day?
- 7:32Speaker 2: And it never came, never even went.
- 7:34Speaker 1: It was totally fine. I only had a fever for
- 7:36Speaker 1: one day and then I just waited out the rest
- 7:38Speaker 1: of it.
- 7:39Speaker 2: So you you've helped I know you've done some acting,
- 7:42Speaker 2: but you've also helped write on some TV shows.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Yeah, TV shows and some film.
- 7:45Speaker 2: Yeah, so like helping with the script in the lines
- 7:47Speaker 2: and stuff.
- 7:48Speaker 1: No, no, no, I'm more of a soundtrack.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Okay, on the soundtrack, okay, like what shows?
- 7:53Speaker 1: I did Queen's ABC, so I wrote for basically the
- 7:57Speaker 1: cast with Eve, Brandy Peppy and the Tory Norton, so
- 8:03Speaker 1: it was really dope to do that. I did some
- 8:05Speaker 1: work on partners in Rhyme with mc light. I did
- 8:10Speaker 1: to not Latan had a debut film call on to
- 8:12Speaker 1: come up that you were in that, right, I was
- 8:14Speaker 1: in it and I wrote the soundtrack for it.
- 8:15Speaker 2: So I met her once in Tampa, Florida randomly. I
- 8:19Speaker 2: was backstage at the It was when Chris Brown had
- 8:21Speaker 2: his tour with The Migos in French Montana, and it
- 8:24Speaker 2: was from French and SINNI were dating and it was
- 8:26Speaker 2: out in the world. But then I saw it in Florida.
- 8:30Speaker 2: I was like, Oh, this is crazy. She just walked
- 8:32Speaker 2: in the dressing room and I was just like, oh shit,
- 8:36Speaker 2: where in Tampa and tonight Lathan is here.
- 8:38Speaker 1: This is incredible.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Yeah, she's incredibly talented.
- 8:41Speaker 1: She's so dope, but y'all didn't even audition for months.
- 8:44Speaker 1: She's like, I think you could play this character where
- 8:45Speaker 1: you are So I ended up being that's my first
- 8:48Speaker 1: time acting debut is that.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Something that you're you got the bug for.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Yeah, I want to do I want to do more
- 8:53Speaker 1: of it for sure.

- 12:18Speaker 1: Recoup, so I hear as long as I don't play myself.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Yeah, as lo are the players. It's crazy too because
- 12:25Speaker 2: like for you, like I feel like we're in like
- 12:28Speaker 2: a renaissance of like it used to be a thing
- 12:31Speaker 2: where you would describe an artists as like a female rapper,
- 12:34Speaker 2: but female rappers are running rap.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Yeah, so it's just like rappers.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, Like it's like the best. Like you know,
- 12:41Speaker 2: if you could like rewind like twenty eighteen twenty seventeen,
- 12:44Speaker 2: you'd be like, oh, there's this new female role. How
- 12:46Speaker 2: many female rappers can pop? At the same time, there
- 12:48Speaker 2: was that narrative because it was like just Nikki for
- 12:50Speaker 2: so long, But now it's like I just wish the
- 12:54Speaker 2: dudes would care about making real records like the women
- 12:56Speaker 2: are these days.
- 12:58Speaker 1: I think we had our time. We deserve this time. Now.
- 13:01Speaker 1: It's been so many years since All Woman Dynamic was domain.
- 13:05Speaker 2: That's back in the day. Well, back in the day,
- 13:08Speaker 2: it was like the you had like the Brad Little Kim,
- 13:09Speaker 2: Foxy Eve, like a lot of people doing everything at
- 13:12Speaker 2: the same time. I feel like now though, it's like
- 13:13Speaker 2: way crazier. Yeah it is, and there's so many like spectrums,
- 13:17Speaker 2: Like you could get Rhapsod he was one of the
- 13:19Speaker 2: greatest period shouts to raps, and then you got like
- 13:22Speaker 2: Sexy read who you can you know for sure?
- 13:24Speaker 1: I love the dichotomy between all of them. No, I
- 13:26Speaker 1: think it's dope.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Have you listened to Andre three thousands fluent album?
- 13:29Speaker 1: I can't wait to listen to it. I haven't sat
- 13:31Speaker 1: down yet, but like that, Andre is somebody I'm an
- 13:33Speaker 1: enthusiast of. Like I just feel like, whatever he drops,
- 13:35Speaker 1: I want to come.
- 13:36Speaker 2: To album right there. Quin it's my favorite. It's like
- 13:39Speaker 2: my third favorite album of all time.
- 13:40Speaker 1: I love that.
- 13:41Speaker 2: I love Outcasts, But no, I'm not gonna lie. I
- 13:43Speaker 2: saw it. I saw the press release and I was
- 13:46Speaker 2: just so fucked. I was like, yes, yeah, and then
- 13:50Speaker 2: I read and it was like, there'll be no rapping,
- 13:53Speaker 2: it's just the flute. I said, okay, well, at least
- 13:57Speaker 2: i'll have some music to trip on shrooms too, some
- 14:00Speaker 2: shrooms get high. Let Andre play the flute in the background.
- 14:03Speaker 1: No, And I like his self awareness in it too.
- 14:05Speaker 1: I feel like evolution is so important for artists to
- 14:07Speaker 1: like understand what a leane of life they're in at
- 14:10Speaker 1: the moment.
- 14:10Speaker 2: Yeah, like you already said. Yeah.
- 14:12Speaker 1: He was like, I don't have nothing to rap about,
- 14:13Speaker 1: so you want me to.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Rap colonoscopy And I was like sure, I literally listen
- 14:17Speaker 2: to you rap about anything. Yeah, yeah, colonoscopies, you know, iras,
- 14:22Speaker 2: whatever you want to rap about. But we're gonna get
- 14:24Speaker 2: the flute sounds the flu.
- 14:26Speaker 1: I'm excited about that.
- 14:28Speaker 2: On this new album, you got a lot of dope features.
- 14:30Speaker 2: I'm a writer who I think is really dope and
- 14:32Speaker 2: slept on. Yeah, she's incredible. Who's first of all, what's
- 14:36Speaker 2: your favorite song on the album? And for you, what
- 14:38Speaker 2: was like the feature that meant the most to get
- 14:40Speaker 2: done for this one.
- 14:41Speaker 1: That's a good question. My favorite song changes often, but
- 14:45Speaker 1: right now is safety Net. It's this track of Brook
- 14:47Speaker 1: Valentine number ten, and it's just very like.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Wait, Brook Valentine is that.
- 14:53Speaker 1: Girl fight yeah fight? Yeah?
- 14:55Speaker 2: Oh wait she's married to my boy. Yeah yeah, so.
- 14:59Speaker 1: She's on a Virgo record because she's married to a Virgo,
- 15:01Speaker 1: which is my brother Marcus.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Like your brother, my brother. He's a great guy. He
- 15:06Speaker 2: just hit me like a month ago and told me, hey,
- 15:09Speaker 2: my wife, do you want to book because I have
- 15:10Speaker 2: a club in Scotstyle And I was like, you're married
- 15:12Speaker 2: to Brooke boalnin Yeah. I just figured yeah shots broken, Yeah, okay,
- 15:17Speaker 2: shot to market.
- 15:18Speaker 1: It's a great guy, great family.
- 15:20Speaker 2: Yeah. I love like his like he's giving game away.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Free game. Yeah for sure, I love it. But yeah,
- 15:27Speaker 1: that's like one of my favorite on the project. And
- 15:29Speaker 1: then my favorite person I have worked with throughout it.
- 15:34Speaker 1: She I was happy to uh damn everybody. I really
- 15:38Speaker 1: enjoyed everybody was there like a.
- 15:40Speaker 2: Student, like well like because these days you might get
- 15:42Speaker 2: a song sent to you were you able to like.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Get I sat down with everybody. I flew into each
- 15:47Speaker 1: person's like hometown or whatever, and I made an environment.
- 15:50Speaker 1: I would say I did safety that. Yeah yeah, and
- 15:54Speaker 1: act like you know, all in one session at west
- 15:56Speaker 1: Lake and everybody was there. Everybody who was featured on
- 15:58Speaker 1: it came into the studio and we did it together.
- 16:00Speaker 2: That's the funnest session.
- 16:01Speaker 1: It was the most uh productive, get creative. Yeah, it
- 16:05Speaker 1: was just it was just really fun to watch everybody's
- 16:07Speaker 1: like ideas ping off each other and stuff like that
- 16:09Speaker 1: was really what.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Is your pen game? Like? Are you writing everything? Are
- 16:13Speaker 2: you are you punching in? Like, how do you know?
- 16:16Speaker 1: I'm one take lady, Like, I'm literally I don't punch often.
- 16:20Speaker 2: So you'll have you'll have your ship like look I'm ready,
- 16:23Speaker 2: I'm already ready.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Yeah, or like I'll write in there if i'm like
- 16:26Speaker 1: because like safety know, for example, I wrote the whole record,
- 16:29Speaker 1: so like I sat down and I can't sing, so
- 16:33Speaker 1: I'm like, girl, like you know this we're doing so yeah?
- 16:37Speaker 1: She just man, everybody did they part on that. You know?
- 16:40Speaker 2: How much writing do you do for other people?
- 16:42Speaker 1: Uh? Not as much anymore. I kind of got my
- 16:44Speaker 1: start in songwriting at first, so I used to you know,
- 16:47Speaker 1: obviously being writing sessions and whatever whatever, But it's a grind.
- 16:51Speaker 2: People don't know, man, Oh my god, because you might
- 16:53Speaker 2: be in a session and feel like we got one
- 16:55Speaker 2: and then it doesn't make the album.
- 16:57Speaker 1: Yeah, that happens all the time.
- 16:58Speaker 2: And then the songs just like in I don't Know.
- 17:01Speaker 1: And you don't know who'se hands will end up in
- 17:03Speaker 1: Like that's the crazy part is knowing like you wrote
- 17:05Speaker 1: it for this person and then this person has it now,
- 17:07Speaker 1: or you know it comes out five years later and
- 17:09Speaker 1: you're like yeah.
- 17:10Speaker 2: Like when you're a producer and a songwriter, it is
- 17:12Speaker 2: a it is a it's a grind because those studio
- 17:17Speaker 2: sessions can be eight, ten, twelve hours and then you
- 17:20Speaker 2: don't even know if it's if you even got anything
- 17:22Speaker 2: out of it, Like, hey, hey, what up you all?
- 17:24Speaker 2: We got to stop the interview. Tell you about our
- 17:25Speaker 2: good folks at King Palm. That's right, let me tell
- 17:28Speaker 2: you about King Pom Man. It's all we smoking over here.
- 17:30Speaker 2: What I love about King Pom chirping infused flavor in
- 17:35Speaker 2: each one of these These are the margarita. Now, this
- 17:37Speaker 2: is kind of the wave I've been on recently. These
- 17:40Speaker 2: margarita ones are fucking fire, no tobacco, no nicotine, straight
- 17:46Speaker 2: raw organic fresh leaves and mos dope. Is they got
- 17:50Speaker 2: the tip, you squeeze the tip, you hit one of
- 17:52Speaker 2: these boys, and you just get hit with that flavor. Man,
- 17:54Speaker 2: you get hit with that flavor, no matter how big
- 17:56Speaker 2: or small the palm is. You know what I'm saying.
- 17:59Speaker 2: This is what's dope to King Pom. If y'all don't know, man,
- 18:02Speaker 2: they're one of the leading brands when it comes to
- 18:05Speaker 2: this real like organic smoke light. That's why I like them.

- 20:09Speaker 2: Who's some people you've written for?
- 20:10Speaker 1: Rather than I speak on it, can we check the credits? Probably? Probably?
- 20:15Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, as a writer, is there any advice you
- 20:18Speaker 2: would give because I see a lot of more dialogue
- 20:21Speaker 2: about how there are some like, you know, some of
- 20:24Speaker 2: the pub deals in the past have been kind of predatory.
- 20:26Speaker 2: I just saw Hip Hoy, you know, in the last
- 20:28Speaker 2: year is kind of talked about his og pub deal.
- 20:30Speaker 2: But would there be any advice you'd give in terms
- 20:32Speaker 2: of the pub game, Like I.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Would say, just ask for your points. I would say
- 20:36Speaker 1: that that really be it. A lot of people publishing
- 20:39Speaker 1: is so weird nowadays with what everything they try to
- 20:41Speaker 1: give you, like the least percentage and you did most
- 20:44Speaker 1: of the direction.
- 20:44Speaker 2: And now they get they got like these minimum delivery
- 20:46Speaker 2: requirements which are like I think it's like it might
- 20:51Speaker 2: look like, oh yeah, I only got to do ten
- 20:54Speaker 2: records right, but no, that's ten. That's that's a that's
- 20:58Speaker 2: a thousand points right. So it's like if you if
- 21:01Speaker 2: you do the most, like you said, you do the
- 21:02Speaker 2: most work on the record, you might think, well, shit,
- 21:04Speaker 2: I should get twenty five thirty. No, you might get ten,
- 21:07Speaker 2: ye might get eight.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 21:09Speaker 2: Get you gotta understand, like you got to get so
- 21:11Speaker 2: many placements to hit ten compositions for sure.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Yeah, So it's it's a wicked game. I say, just
- 21:16Speaker 1: make sure you have great lawyers for real.
- 21:19Speaker 2: For sure. Obviously, Uh, you're kind of bikehosal at this
- 21:23Speaker 2: point when you were growing up though, being in the
- 21:26Speaker 2: East Coast, who were your main influences to like your style?
- 21:29Speaker 2: Would you say.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Definitely Jay Z, Jada, Kiss, Big L, Lawrence Hill, Yeah, man, uh,
- 21:39Speaker 1: Lawrence Hill, Missy, Foxy Kim. I would say those were
- 21:45Speaker 1: like the main people I really mild my career behind
- 21:49Speaker 1: as far as musically.
- 21:50Speaker 2: I love Big L.
- 21:51Speaker 1: Yeah, me too.
- 21:51Speaker 2: One of the greats.
- 21:53Speaker 1: Honestly is I feel so relatable to him because I
- 21:56Speaker 1: feel like my catalog because I this is my first
- 21:58Speaker 1: project in the record place, and I'm like, wow, I
- 22:00Speaker 1: feel like I could walk away now and be like,
- 22:01Speaker 1: I feel like that was a really good That was
- 22:03Speaker 1: a really.
- 22:03Speaker 2: Good technically big olt. While he was alive, only put
- 22:07Speaker 2: out one album, Lifestyles Are the Porn Dangerous. The Big
- 22:09Speaker 2: Picture came out after he passed.
- 22:10Speaker 1: So yeah, but even if you go back to like
- 22:12Speaker 1: his freestyles, oh yeah, like he's competing at the highest.
- 22:15Speaker 2: That freestyle where he watched listen shot to jay Z
- 22:18Speaker 2: jay Z held.
- 22:18Speaker 1: His own ninety seven.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Oh my god, yeah, fucking SPADs the funk out.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Yeah, he went crazy so ahead of his time his parents,
- 22:28Speaker 1: Oh my god, that's crazy.
- 22:30Speaker 2: Yeah. Shots a big l was because there's all those
- 22:33Speaker 2: rumors that like he was talking to jay Z or
- 22:36Speaker 2: Dame about signing a Rockefeller before he passed, And I'm like, yo,
- 22:39Speaker 2: if he would have signed a Rockefeller, you never like
- 22:42Speaker 2: he'd be one of them once.
- 22:43Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I mean yeah.
- 22:46Speaker 2: Like that short yeah shot to him? And did you
- 22:48Speaker 2: ever listened to the Children of the Corn stuff?
- 22:51Speaker 1: Not really? I heard of it, but I didn't really
- 22:53Speaker 1: got into stoke.
- 22:54Speaker 2: That Mason Caraman now do a show together?
- 22:56Speaker 1: Yes, I love that.
- 22:58Speaker 2: Did you say that Mace just got Cameron massage from
- 23:02Speaker 2: Joe Smith's wife Live on the show.
- 23:06Speaker 1: Is funny. He's a funny person and.
- 23:07Speaker 2: Hilarious, hilarious. All right, so look, this album is out
- 23:11Speaker 2: right now, everyone go check it out. Soul and uh,
- 23:15Speaker 2: this is your first body of work. Are you already
- 23:20Speaker 2: working on something new? Yeah?
- 23:21Speaker 1: So technically this is just a product. This is actually
- 23:23Speaker 1: not an.
- 23:23Speaker 2: Album, So this is kind of like, okay, so this
- 23:25Speaker 2: is just.
- 23:25Speaker 1: The first Yeah, first body for the first project. They're
- 23:29Speaker 1: not letting me call it a EP because it's like long,
- 23:31Speaker 1: so I've been.
- 23:32Speaker 2: A pretty long EP.
- 23:33Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a pretty long EP basically. But yeah, I'm working.
- 23:36Speaker 1: I'm beginning to work on my first album now, and
- 23:39Speaker 1: who knows how long that's gonna say, because the album
- 23:41Speaker 1: for me is like very serious.
- 23:42Speaker 2: Yeah you got. I mean, look, that debut album's got
- 23:44Speaker 2: to be. It's gotta be up there. And you know
- 23:47Speaker 2: that cloth that you listen to, you grew up listening,
- 23:49Speaker 2: I know, I know. Is there any tour stuff coming?
- 23:54Speaker 1: Hopefully top of spring, top of spring, Yeah, next year.
- 23:57Speaker 2: Well, I appreciate you pulling up, Thank you for having me,
- 24:00Speaker 2: Lady London boom fire. Yo, we're wrapping up an interview. Man,
- 24:05Speaker 2: of course we want to shout out to our family
