- 1:09See how I, like, seamlessly did all of that together.
- 1:13We did a commentary track on Jurassic Park.
- 1:15And at the beginning of that, we also revealed what the new
- 1:17franchise is, 'cause if you're a budget bubby, you get a little,
- 1:20a little extra something, something, Yeah.
- 1:23Good job. All right, I think that's it.
- 1:25I think that's all I had to plug.

- 1:40Even a sticker. I don't have poles.
- 1:43We did not do a poll. Oh man, Yep, we've been busy.
- 1:46I I feel like we say that every single week.
- 1:48I swear to God it is something slipped the mind, but we're
- 1:54prepared for the rest of this episode.
- 1:56We are. So I'm ready to get into it if
- 1:57you are. I'm going to go ahead and start,
- 1:59all right. Final Destination Bloodlines
- 2:01released May 16th, 2025. We watched it on HBO Max, which

- 2:55appearance we have Tony Todd as John William Bloodworth.
- 2:58Nastrovia. Nastrovia, yeah.
- 3:01I'm glad you got to go out on this series so.
- 3:04I'm going to have a little bit to say about that too.
- 3:07I'm sure you will. So.
- 3:09But first, it's time for our favorite game on the show.
- 3:11Budget or budgeted? This is definitely budget.
- 3:15It is bougie budget. Bougie budget.
- 3:17It is 50 million. Whoa, did not expect that kind
- 3:20of coin to be. Dropped on US opening box office
- 3:23was 51.6 million in the US and Canada.
- 3:26Worldwide gross was 317 million. Holy should.
- 3:29That's really good. That's way better than yeah, one
- 3:32of the other ones were like right around 180, really.
- 3:37I remember because we we kept commenting about how close it
- 3:39was to 180. Yes, it has a 67.
- 3:43So. On IODV.
- 3:46OK, that's good. I'm glad.
- 3:48That's a really good rating for something like this right here.
- 3:50I pulled 3 movies from 2025. Pretty.
- 3:53Tagline. No, we do the three movies 1st
- 3:57and then we do tagline. You're right, you're right.
- 3:58God, I never remember the word of our own show.
- 4:01What is wrong with you? Something very bad I I'm not
- 4:07well. OK, my theme is family
- 4:11traditions. So these are all people that got
- 4:13into their predicament because it has something to do with
- 4:16their family. They were influenced, they were
- 4:18born into it, you know, whatever.
- 4:21Cool. So the first one's The Long
- 4:22Walk. Yeah, OK, that's don't work too
- 4:27hard into that one. That might be a spoiler.
- 4:29Yeah, he was. He was radicalized.
- 4:31He had his reasons. That released September 12th,
- 4:352025. Budget of 20 million, worldwide
- 4:38gross of 62 million. IMDb 67.
- 4:41Oh my God, really? Man, I forgot about that movie.
- 4:45It was pretty good. Yeah, it was pretty quite
- 4:46enjoyed it. Second movie, Black Phone too.
- 4:50Yeah, yeah. Family business right there for
- 4:52sure. That released November 17th,
- 4:552025. A budget of 20 million.
- 4:57A worldwide gross of 132 million.
- 5:01IMDb score 6.1 out of 10. Almost 67.
- 5:07Almost 6-7 I For a minute I thought we were going to have
- 5:09all six sevens. That's a that one's also
- 5:12familiar in the fact that it's like the mom that had this
- 5:15ability or what it was like. The mom that kind of like drove
- 5:19a rift between the family because she bought into the
- 5:23supernatural stuff. I mean, I think that it was
- 5:27real. Wait, yeah, I'm saying
- 5:29supernatural. Supernatural, you said?
- 5:30You bought into. Yeah, I know.
- 5:33But, you know, just because, like, it's happening, we've seen
- 5:35in so many movies that people don't buy into it because it's
- 5:38hard to believe. Let's make them exclusive, you
- 5:42see. Anyway, third, maybe 28 years
- 5:46later. OK.
- 5:48Because that's their, their whole, like that's their lineage
- 5:50at this point. Spike.
- 5:53No, nothing else. How's that?
- 5:54Well, he's also going to take his mom, his family.
- 5:57So I go see a doctor. Yeah, that's a great movie.
- 6:00Not really. We watched Bone Temple.
- 6:02So good. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. 28 Years
- 6:05Later released June 20th, 2025. We were having a very bad time
- 6:10that time of year, which is why we only just now saw it.
- 6:13Yeah, yeah. Budget of 60 million.
- 6:17Worldwide Gross 151 million IMDb 6.6 out of 10.
- 6:21Damn, it did. Well, it did.
- 6:23That's surprising, because I checked Bone Temple's return.
- 6:27Not even close to that. It was like in the 20,000,000.
- 6:30That's. Weird.
- 6:32I think it was a little bit of like people in our situation,
- 6:35like we haven't had a chance to see the first one yet.
- 6:37I can't go see that one right now.
- 6:39Yeah, well, because the problem was too that we couldn't even
- 6:42stream it at home because it was on the higher tiers for Netflix.
- 6:46Like you couldn't just watch it if you had a streaming service,
- 6:49you had to pay extra. We weren't going to rent.
- 6:51That, yeah, I'm not. I'm not.
- 6:53I'm sorry. We're getting to a point where
- 6:54cable is starting to look more affordable and it's kind of
- 6:58dumb. I I like having the options from
- 7:02the streaming services, but it's starting to become untenable.
- 7:05We are fine with ads. We are going to do these lower
- 7:07tiers. Eventually we're going to have
- 7:09to start chopping services. Yeah, so streamers better figure
- 7:14out what's working for you. Now it's time for Taglings.
- 7:18OK. Do you have any?
- 7:19I do, I have 4:00. Oh, cool.
- 7:21All right. Death runs in the family.
- 7:24Oh, that is a. Good one is a good one.
- 7:26Death runs in every family. I'm just saying like it's not
- 7:34mutually exclusive to this family.
- 7:37I, I think I finally understand how Cordelia feels, you know, as
- 7:42a like, we say something to her and make a sound at her and
- 7:45she's just like. Yeah, what was that reaction?
- 7:48You just looked at me. You just stared at me like I'm a
- 7:50fucking idiot. I The way you shouted death runs
- 7:55in every family, I I had no response to that.
- 7:58I thought more was coming. I did not know what what was
- 8:02going to be said next. You leave them hanging one more.
- 8:06If you screw with desk plans, things can get very messy.
- 8:11That is what Tony Todd said in this movie.
- 8:16Pretty sure that's a direct. Quote pretty sure Stephanie said
- 8:19that because they were like why did Eric die?
- 8:21Spoiler dude life is a death trap.
- 8:30Witness the birth of death. No.
- 8:34Yeah, I don't. That one doesn't really apply.
- 8:37Yeah. OK.
- 8:38So initially, Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan wrote the script
- 8:43as a reimagining of the franchise.
- 8:45It was still going to have the same spirit.
- 8:47They didn't really want to call it a reboot.
- 8:51Things were kind of ambiguous. But then in March of 2020, Craig
- 8:54Perry, one of the producers, announced that the movie would
- 8:59be set in the world of first responders.
- 9:01I couldn't find a definitive on why that changed, beyond the
- 9:04facts that obviously the writing team changed.
- 9:07We had. Yeah, you're right.
- 9:08I remember when that was a thing, when everybody was
- 9:10talking about that and it, yeah, I completely forgot about.
- 9:13That yeah. October 2021, Laurie Evans
- 9:16Taylor was announced as the new writer.
- 9:18OK. And eventually, Gary Busek was
- 9:20confirmed in January 2022 to also be a writer.
- 9:24Also in January 2022, HBO Max announced that they would be
- 9:27distributing it, and John Watts was added as an additional
- 9:30producer. He also helped develop the story
- 9:32for the new movie. So I really think it was just a
- 9:35bringing on of new people. They just completely redid the
- 9:38movie. Yeah, pretty much September
- 9:402022, Lipovsky and Stein were selected from over 200
- 9:44candidates. Now the initial information I
- 9:48have said that they in their pitch with new Line they staged
- 9:53A mock accident with prerecorded footage and visual effects.
- 9:57I found an interview with them in Variety where they talk about
- 10:00it in a little bit more detail and wow, I understand why they
- 10:04got the job it. Sounds crazy.
- 10:07Staged A mock accident. So Liposky said one of the
- 10:11tricky things when you're pitching to get these bigger
- 10:13jobs is to communicate tone, and Final Destination has a really
- 10:15unique tone. Initially I had the idea of
- 10:18killing one of us on camera live on Zoom.
- 10:20Adam was pretty skeptical at 1st that it could be pulled off in a
- 10:22way that wouldn't be cheesy or wouldn't go wrong.
- 10:24If at any point the wheels fell off and it didn't work, that
- 10:27would be the end of our chances on on making this movie.
- 10:30So it was a risky thing to try, but we just decided to at least
- 10:33do all the steps of seeing how that might be possible and enjoy
- 10:36that and make it its own little fun short film project.
- 10:39As we got kind of into the all the nitty gritty of how to pull
- 10:42that off, it became so much fun that we had to try it.
- 10:44It was incredibly complex to do. We wanted a completely seamless
- 10:47live experience to have one of the directors get their head
- 10:50chopped off by a ceiling fan in the middle of pitching the movie
- 10:53over Zoom. It was a crazy sequence of
- 10:55technological things that we had to do, but it ended up going
- 10:57well. Now the interviewer asked, did
- 11:00you end up taping it? Might we see it on like a
- 11:03Bloodline special feature someday?
- 11:04And Stein said what's crazy is that it was live on Zoom.
- 11:07It was a one time only experience.
- 11:09If they had recorded the Zoom, it would have been preserved.
- 11:11But they didn't record the Zoom. And it wasn't something where we
- 11:13could say, excuse me, it was their meeting.
- 11:16It was just for 15 executives and producers who were on that
- 11:19call to see it. But I think that's what made it
- 11:20even more magical, But because they just felt like it was live.
- 11:23So there was realism to it. That was surprising.
- 11:26What the fuck that's that's really cool but I want to see.
- 11:29That I know that's I love that they.
- 11:32They didn't even explain how it happened.
- 11:34How did they make somebody's head get cut off by a ceiling
- 11:38fan? You need to know.
- 11:41Well staged mock accident with prerecorded footage in VFX.
- 11:48So yeah, I understand why they got they got picked.
- 11:51I think that's a really interesting way to pitch
- 11:52yourself for this franchise. I think that's really
- 11:54interesting considering like why do you have to pitch a Final
- 11:57Destination movie? Watch the.
- 11:58Previous You're not 5 pitching the film, you're pitching
- 12:01yourself to be able to. To do it, yeah, OK, I guess
- 12:04that's fair. That's really cool, though.
- 12:08I had no idea about that. So they did confirm that Tony
- 12:12Todd did complete everything he was supposed to film before he
- 12:15sadly passed away from stomach cancer.
- 12:18And they had stuff written for him.
- 12:19They really wanted to make sure that his character got a proper
- 12:22send off. We figure out why he's been
- 12:24involved in all of these this whole time.
- 12:25And they wanted to give him a chance to like, really like give
- 12:29the character and Tony Todd an appropriate send off.
- 12:31And I know a lot of people have heard that he was told to just
- 12:35kind of speak from the heart. I've got a quote from the from
- 12:39Adam Stein, one of the directors.
- 12:41When he was speaking a Polygon. We asked if he would be
- 12:44comfortable putting us out the script and just really speaking
- 12:46from the heart directly to the vans about what life's all
- 12:49about. We asked him, hey, Tony, what is
- 12:52all this final destination death stuff?
- 12:53What do you want to leave the fans with if you had to say it
- 12:56in your own words? And the take that's in the movie
- 12:58is really him speaking from the heart directly to the fans about
- 13:01what he thinks life and death are all about.
- 13:03I think that's why it's so emotionally powerful, because
- 13:05it's really him. I'm wondering, is that the
- 13:07entire scene or is it just that like last moment where he's
- 13:10saying his farewell? I think it's mostly when he's
- 13:13saying his first. That's what I thought too.
- 13:14That one felt more genuine, everything else felt more
- 13:17scripted. Everything else felt more like
- 13:20vintage JB. Yeah, where he was like she's
- 13:25friends with Iris. Also, fun fact, a 71 year old
- 13:30stunt woman by the name of Yvette Ferguson came out of
- 13:34retirement to do a fire stunt in the opening premonitions.
- 13:39What? Yes.
- 13:40A 70 something year old woman in a fire stunt?
- 13:44Say what? Yep.
- 13:46Why? You know she.
- 13:48Wanted to yeah, I. Guess I guess.
- 13:50Yeah, that's crazy. Like did she wear like the
- 13:53fucking fire suit? I guess I I have the information
- 13:57that I just said out loud. OK, OK, that's insane.
- 14:01You know, and we talked about the changing of hands for this
- 14:05movie, contributing to some of the changes, but it's also worth
- 14:07mentioning that production started before the SAG AFTRA
- 14:11strikes, so it was delayed significantly by all of that,
- 14:15and that impacted a lot of things.
- 14:18There are a couple of other things that we had learned just,
- 14:22you know, from being out and about and online and what not.
- 14:26One of those, when it was first announced that Patrick Melton
- 14:29and Marcus Dunstan were doing some riding on it, I tweeted at
- 14:32them and I said, hey, people think it's silly that I'm afraid
- 14:36of revolving. Doris, can you please add this
- 14:38into the script so that way I have a valid reason?
- 14:42Yeah, Because, you know, people see the log trucks and they're
- 14:44like, those freak me out. Nobody questions it.
- 14:45And he's like, that's stupid. But I say I don't like a
- 14:48revolving door. And everybody's like, just walk
- 14:50with it, you'll be fine. I get it, you have to like time
- 14:53it out perfectly. Yeah, yeah.
- 14:55And one of them tweeted back at the time saying, interesting
- 14:58that you said that. Yeah.
- 15:00And it was filmed, so I've got a Reddit thread and I got some
- 15:04information where somebody listened to the director's
- 15:06commentary. Darlene gets trapped in the
- 15:08revolving door, but ultimately a falling letter from the
- 15:10hospital's name, Fallon Crusher. However, in Test Skirtings, it
- 15:13didn't do well killing off that many characters that quickly and
- 15:17not giving Darlene the chance to redeem herself.
- 15:19So we got the ending that we did.
- 15:21Darlene's the mom, right? Yes.
- 15:23Wow. OK, interesting because like
- 15:25they they draw attention to the revolving door in the scene.
- 15:28They really do. Yeah, I was like, this seems
- 15:30like a misdirect, but interesting that they actually
- 15:33did something with it and. I think that's really
- 15:35interesting about this franchise, too, is that you can
- 15:37like, emphasize things and so many things can be a misdirect
- 15:41because how many of these, like Rube Goldberg device death
- 15:45machines involve like, false leads?
- 15:48Yeah, for sure. And then another one and this is
- 15:51just really sweet. We met Devin a couple years ago
- 15:54at Scare Fest and we were just, you know, chatting with him for
- 15:57a little bit and we mentioned something about Chucky and how,
- 16:02you know, and he was just gushing about all of the child
- 16:05actors on there. And he was like, you know, and I
- 16:08cuz Devin saw I was a child actor as well.
- 16:10He's an adult actor too, but he was a child actor and he was
- 16:15like, yeah, I know all those kids.
- 16:16Like I stay really close to them and I'm really trying to mentor
- 16:18them and one of them got got a role on Final destination.
- 16:22That's Tio Brione so plays Charlie in this Junior Wheeler
- 16:26in the Chucky TV series I. Can't remember which kid that
- 16:31is. The cousin.
- 16:33Yeah, OK. Yeah, yeah.
- 16:35But yeah, he was like, I was like one of the first people
- 16:38that he called when he got the role.
- 16:39He was so excited to tell him and I.
- 16:41Yeah, that was cool. And just a fun little Devin saw
- 16:45effect for you, yeah. He's a nice guy.
- 16:47If you ever have a chance to meet him, he's cool.
- 16:50And I like to say this every time I tell that story, but my
- 16:52sister had texted me in the morning.
- 16:54Out she goes. I saw Devin saw was at
- 16:56Scarefest. I'm gonna be so jealous if you
- 16:57meet him and when we took our picture with him, I was like my
- 17:01sister said she was going to be super jealous.
- 17:03So I got to send this to her right away and he goes good.
- 17:08All right, that's what I have for fun facts, which I think is
- 17:11pretty good considering we don't have this one on disk yet.
- 17:15So we didn't have special features to work with.
- 17:18This is all Internet. There was one thing I remember,
- 17:20a little nod of information. This was originally supposed to
- 17:23go straight to the HBO, but it did so well.
- 17:26I think with the test screenings, everybody's like we
- 17:28need to just put this out in theaters.
- 17:29I'm glad they did that. I am too, but because.
- 17:33I think. I think it's cool to like give
- 17:35it out to the masses at a cheaper cost also.
- 17:39Yeah, but also at the same time, like because they were able to
- 17:43get an ROI, now we get another one.
- 17:45That's true. Yeah, that's true.
- 17:47Yeah. I I this feels like a franchise
- 17:50that will be hard to kill off, I think.
- 17:53OK, yeah, I I get that pun there, But I I'm just saying
- 17:57this is an easy one to keep going.
- 17:59Yeah, all right. And with that, I guess we go
- 18:02into our goodbye ugly and absurd.
- 18:04Travis, what did you like all? Right, Well, we're on movie #5
- 18:09The Six, and they're still doing a pretty good job of keeping
- 18:15them fresh. This is another one that has
- 18:18something interesting with it. I like the bloodline part of it,
- 18:22where these people, it's interesting to think about.
- 18:25This is a group of people that don't have their own opening
- 18:28premonition. They're only victims due to
- 18:32their grandma who was one of those people that got
- 18:36premonitions, which that's really interesting the.
- 18:38Thing is though is that premonition is the one that's
- 18:41affecting them. Yeah, and she's having, she's
- 18:45kind of having visions of it too.
- 18:46So it's like it's trying to pick somebody new, but it can't
- 18:49because that person is still alive.
- 18:50So it's trying to figure out a way to like, fucking get her
- 18:53finally. Well, and the dream started when
- 18:55Iris. Was diagnosed with.
- 18:58Cancer. Yeah.
- 18:59So it's like it was basically like a passing of the torch
- 19:01there, I guess. Yeah.
- 19:03But yeah, like I, I thought that that was really interesting.
- 19:06One of the things that kind of made me think about is all of
- 19:10these movies are everybody descendants of people that were
- 19:15supposed to die in that opening of this movie?
- 19:19And that's really interesting to think about too.
- 19:21This whole movie is kind of an exercise in the butterfly
- 19:25effect, or as Dr. Ian Malcolm would say, chaos theory, because
- 19:30it it does bring up a good point.
- 19:32We've touched on it a little bit.
- 19:33I think especially in the second one where everybody was talking
- 19:36about how Flight 180, those changes impacted them.
- 19:41They didn't end up being killed in the Flight 180 accident.
- 19:46And we kind of touch on that, about how many people can be
- 19:49impacted by such a little change.
- 19:51And then this movie really goes deep down into it.
- 19:54Yeah. And it also kind of, I
- 19:57appreciate that it was taking death, you know, 60 years to do
- 20:01all of this 'cause I feel like in the movies it seems like
- 20:04death works so quickly. Yeah, look, I think really this
- 20:09movie, like I think all of these movies, I don't think death.
- 20:14I think death is, I've said it before, it's just playing with
- 20:16itself here. Like it's just like having fun.
- 20:18Because even in the intro of this movie, the license plate of
- 20:24the vehicle they're driving is FL81AE, which is it telling the
- 20:29future it knows Flight 180 is going to happen.
- 20:31So like if that is a result of like somebody surviving this
- 20:37day, like it's all part of the design.
- 20:39So like it's all pointless no matter what you do, like you're
- 20:43going to either live or die. Death's already got a
- 20:47predetermined. You can try how many times I'm
- 20:49going. To die eventually, it's just
- 20:51kind of a matter of when and how.
- 20:53Yeah, but whenever it's like this, it's always very violent,
- 20:57not fun. It's not anything like boring.
- 20:59It's always like you're going to get a fucking lawn mower to your
- 21:02face. Yeah.
- 21:05But that's another good thing about this movie.
- 21:06It has a lot of good tense misdirection moments is the
- 21:09kills are pretty brutal like that.
- 21:11Well, Hunt mower one right there, the one in the hospital
- 21:14where Eric, who probably shouldn't have died, but I think
- 21:19that's like he's family. Let's just throw him in and.
- 21:21Here's the thing, too. They're the official
- 21:23justification for that is 'cause he was fucking with that.
- 21:25Like he was trying to help. Really.
- 21:28Yeah, he was trying to help Bobby escape death.
- 21:30So. But.
- 21:34It's just that's just like, grandfathered.
- 21:36And then Howard hadn't been born, Brenda and him wouldn't
- 21:40have gotten married, they wouldn't have been having
- 21:42marital problems, and she wouldn't have cheated on him
- 21:45with what's his fucking name. Oh.
- 21:49Jerry Fenberry. Jerry Fenberry, Jerry.
- 21:52Fucking Fenberry. Is that why he went to play
- 21:54catch? Philly that wouldn't have
- 21:57happened without it. So in a way you could say that
- 21:59he is also like he's not a direct descendant, but he.
- 22:03Maybe she. Was born because of.
- 22:05This Maybe she was meant to be with Jerry and Barry all along.
- 22:09I imagine that like a year after this movie, Brenda and Jerry are
- 22:14together. Oh yeah, like she's lost her
- 22:17whole family. She doesn't have anybody else to
- 22:18go to at this point. She's like, fuck it, I'll go to
- 22:20Jerry. I don't know, like this movie,
- 22:25like it's good. Like I I like that it's still
- 22:27fresh and it just, it works well.
- 22:30I like the cast of people we have here.
- 22:32It's it's a good movie. I like the casting too, because
- 22:35we were talking about it. You said that the casting for
- 22:38Howard and Eric was so good that it really kind of blindsides you
- 22:42with the whole. He looks exactly like him.
- 22:44But when you look at all of them, you can kind of see how
- 22:47they're all cousins, like how they picked up, like they look
- 22:51like a plausible extended family.
- 22:54And I think that's really impressive casting.
- 22:56And I think everybody holds their own in the movie really
- 22:58well as well. Yeah, I also feel like this
- 23:01movie is probably one of the more comedic in the it's almost
- 23:05like half horror comedy. Yeah.
- 23:08And I think it it does a good job again of taking those really
- 23:11common fears, like, Oh my God, I had an MRI in September.
- 23:15The amount of times that like, I patted myself head to toe before
- 23:19going in because I was like, what if I forgot about a piece
- 23:22of jewelry? Yeah, it's scary.
- 23:24Did I take out my belly button ring?
- 23:26I haven't had a belly button ring in four years.
- 23:29Like, I was like, is that there? And I was like the, the, the
- 23:33screw in my knee is plastic. Screw in my knee is plastic.
- 23:36I had to say like 3 times to multiple people because I was
- 23:39like, well there's a screw in my knee but it's plastic.
- 23:41And they're like, yeah, no, that's cool, that's fine.
- 23:43We're happy for you. So like, because it really did,
- 23:45it just made me paranoid because Mris are, you know, they have
- 23:49the potential to be death machines.
- 23:50Same with elevators. That elevator ride up there, it
- 23:54did. The building didn't need to
- 23:55collapse that elevator ride. That's enough tension for me.
- 23:58Yeah, scary, especially when it's like jam packed.
- 24:01Yep. Yeah, jam packed.
- 24:02It's all glass, you see straight out.
- 24:05Terrible decision. Who would do that?
- 24:07They're just like fucking with the people.
- 24:09They decide to go to that restaurant.
- 24:10You're going to go to this restaurant, but you're going to
- 24:12have a terrible time. You want to dance?
- 24:14We're going to ride down ride boy.
- 24:16You see everything? That's such a fucking stupid
- 24:19thing. But yeah, I I had a lot of fun
- 24:22with this movie. I think it was.
- 24:24It really understands what these movies is about.
- 24:29Yeah, I agree. Oh bad.
- 24:32Oh boy, bad. I thought that they kind of
- 24:37dropped the ball with the mom. I thought for sure that was
- 24:41going to be an existing character in the franchise
- 24:44because it felt like such a build up.
- 24:46And when we see the character come out of like the RV or
- 24:49whatever, it's meant to be a shot.
- 24:50Like it's a reveal. Like, am I supposed to know this
- 24:52person? I thought it was going to be
- 24:56fuck. What's her name from Part 2?
- 24:59Kimberly. Kimberly.
- 25:00Yeah. I thought for sure it was going
- 25:01to be Kimberly, you know, like a survivor.
- 25:02She's seen this shit. She like, of course she's going
- 25:05to drive her family crazy being paranoid about that stuff.
- 25:07She lived it and saw so many people die.
- 25:10Yeah, You know, like, I thought that that would have been really
- 25:13cool. But, you know, it's like, oh,
- 25:15it's this person, like, OK, you know, my guy, I just.
- 25:21I don't know, I felt like they dropped the ball there.
- 25:23But I mean, like, other than that, there's not much else I
- 25:26can really complain too much about with this movie.
- 25:29I had a couple of little nitpicks, OK?
- 25:32One being I don't understand how Iris's cabin being fortified to
- 25:37look like such a death trap is keeping her safe, so generally
- 25:40don't understand it. I think, yeah, like the fact
- 25:42that Death isn't able to get her in so many various ways.
- 25:45Like I mean, if the house has so many things.
- 25:48Maybe she could have stepped outside the cabin if she didn't
- 25:51have like, spikes and rusty nails and shit everywhere.
- 25:54But also, we have all of these newspaper articles about all of
- 26:00these deaths, right? We have the newspaper article
- 26:03about the Sky View. There's no way.
- 26:08There is no way on earth that Stephanie looked up the sky view
- 26:11and did not see like Heroic woman saves dozens at Sky view.
- 26:19There's no way that she wouldn't have found that.
- 26:21And I think they just really needed a reason to get her to
- 26:24the cabin and meet Iris, But I think they could have worked
- 26:27that out a little bit more. Yeah, yeah, you're right.
- 26:29Yeah. Like she's aware of it and she
- 26:31just needs like, some guidance. She's like, that's my fucking
- 26:33grandma. I need to go talk to her and
- 26:35figure out what this is. Yeah, it's just it's a little
- 26:40weak for me. Yeah, I can see that.
- 26:42Also I they try to wave away by saying that JB helped her get
- 26:48medical care, but how do you get diagnosed with cancer without
- 26:51ever leaving your house? And she was still living
- 26:55independently enough, so it's not like I.
- 26:57Was going to spoil something but.
- 26:59I just, I, I don't, I don't know.
- 27:02Yeah, no, you're right. I mean they had that can wave
- 27:05some stuff here to make some of it work.
- 27:07You know, like it's like in the first movie when Devin Sawest
- 27:13character is living in that cabin and Death is constantly
- 27:16trying to fucking get him, but he's able to protect himself and
- 27:19you're gonna give me tetanus? Yeah, and that cabin looks like
- 27:22a death trap, but Devin Sawest character is 17 and on the brink
- 27:27of losing his mind, so. Yeah, exactly.
- 27:30That makes sense. Yeah, yeah, Like, why wouldn't
- 27:33death just like, take a fucking tornado to her house and just
- 27:36kill her that way? That seems like a fun way to go,
- 27:38you know, like for Death, like that's like, no, just like
- 27:42Conjure's fucking funnel for this, like.
- 27:45You said he likes to have fun, so that's fun.
- 27:47Boom, give give Iris some cancer.
- 27:52That's not that's so boring. And then give Stephanie these
- 27:57dreams. And then she, because she knows
- 28:01about this, she immediately starts putting this stuff into
- 28:04action for her family. Who knows if these freak
- 28:07accidents would have happened exactly the way they did if
- 28:09Stephanie hadn't been going around being like, you're going
- 28:11to die. That's true, Yeah.
- 28:14All right. Ugly.
- 28:17Well, the secret family with Eric, not Howard, not his dad.
- 28:24And he was so attached to his dad.
- 28:25That is his dad. That's still his dad.
- 28:28She's not his biological father, which is fucking devastating.
- 28:32Especially the one after he just died.
- 28:34You know, like, you feel really bad for that character there.
- 28:39What else? That fucking kid.
- 28:44Oh the asshole kid from the sky view.
- 28:47I mean you give me so much shit for being like cheering on this
- 28:50kid getting electrocuted on a fence in Jurassic Park.
- 28:54I'm. Mad at him for not climbing down
- 28:56faster. This.
- 28:57That is not all being a little shit.
- 28:59I'm mad at that kid for not shutting the fuck up the entire
- 29:02movie too. He was 8 and met one of his
- 29:04heroes. This kid was 8 and he had it
- 29:07coming. Just like that kid.
- 29:09If you fucking ask for it, you're gonna get what you
- 29:13fucking asked. For my God, he was not asking
- 29:15for. It it was nice that this kid got
- 29:17crushed by a piano. Though I like that they weren't
- 29:20afraid to go there with this one.
- 29:21It'd be interesting. I like how they were like, we
- 29:23will go this young and then at one point they're in the
- 29:26hospital and they look at the babies and they're like, no.
- 29:29That was a fun this. Is our hard line, yeah.
- 29:32And then they, like, have to think about going.
- 29:33It was like, don't, don't touch that baby.
- 29:37Yeah, OK. What about you?
- 29:40I don't care how many pictures Darlene keeps around, she still
- 29:44abandoned her family. You're not like a a good mom
- 29:48with flawed motives just because you keep pictures of your family
- 29:52around. Fuck off with all of that.
- 29:54I feel very strongly about this. I get that she thought she was
- 29:57doing what's best, but you know what she could have done and
- 29:59said fucking therapy. Yeah, I know she could have done
- 30:02a lot more. That was like, I understand why
- 30:05Stephanie was so, yeah, upset with her.
- 30:08Yeah. They really only trauma bonded.
- 30:11I think if they had survived all of this, I don't think that the
- 30:14happy family relationship would have continued on.
- 30:17No, no, for sure. Not all right.
- 30:20Absurd. Absurd.
- 30:22Well, in the opening we have the fucking like bellhop like little
- 30:28fucking kid working the elevator bragging like they finished the
- 30:32construction five months early. Isn't that awesome?
- 30:35Don't you feel so good about this right now?
- 30:38I'm telling you, I feel like they designed this place to
- 30:40like, freak you out. It doesn't look like it has
- 30:43enough support for the top piece, which clearly it didn't.
- 30:47Immediately like opening day the fucking bolts from the support
- 30:52beams are just shooting out from the side like they did a
- 30:55terrible job with this. My other absurd is just the fact
- 31:00that the dad just fucks off halfway through this movie.
- 31:05He does. He shows up at the very end once
- 31:07thing, once the dust is settled. But he was like, I'm fucking
- 31:10out, Yeah. You guys OK.
- 31:12He's like, I'm going to go take a walk and he walks.
- 31:16He, I have to assume, obviously we're passed further points,
- 31:21whatever. I have to assume.
- 31:23He also gets hit by the train at the end, like everybody goes
- 31:26there. Yeah.
- 31:29What happens to Paco? Paco will find a new family you
- 31:34know. What, like, because I get it.
- 31:36Like, it was, it was Charlie taking Paco, right?
- 31:40Yeah, it wasn't the dad. But also, like, Brenda's still
- 31:44there. Brenda and Jerry can take care
- 31:46of Paco. Yeah, yeah, You know, like, man,
- 31:52that fucking Jerry getting Paco. I I won't stand for that.
- 31:58That is he he made sure like he had a note on his chest when he
- 32:03died from the peanut stuff and it was like, don't let Jerry
- 32:05Hipaco. Yeah.
- 32:08What's your story? I had Doctor Asshole there at
- 32:10the end, which we've met Jeffrey Reddick.
- 32:13We are friendly with him. I share a scene with him, and if
- 32:16there's Eve, he is a very nice and wonderful guy.
- 32:20He is the one who brought this franchise to us.
- 32:22I get it that they wanted to honor him by naming a character
- 32:24after him, but not Doctor Asshole.
- 32:26He deserved better than this guy.
- 32:28This doctor's like, oh, I hear your brothers of your life.
- 32:31And she's like, yeah, brought me back from the dead.
- 32:34Well, actually I. Don't know about that and.
- 32:37I get that they wanted to draw the distinction between what
- 32:39happened to Kimberly because she actually literally did flatline
- 32:43and there was a hospital to prove it and everything.
- 32:45And most people can't just bring somebody back from the flatline
- 32:48situation with CPR they learned in junior lifeguards.
- 32:52But still, this is not the time or place.
- 32:57I get it. Yeah.
- 32:58Like, you could just like, fucking nod your head and like,
- 33:01Yep, you did a great job, son, you know?
- 33:03Or you could just be like, well, actually, you weren't quite that
- 33:06impressive. Their entire family.
- 33:08You're lucky Charlie's not ghosting your daughter for prom.
- 33:11It's like I'm taking Paco. Paco's mine.
- 33:16Yeah. OK.
- 33:18Overall, what would you read this?
- 33:20I'd give it a nine. Actually, that's exactly what I
- 33:22was going to say. All right, cool 9 go around. 999
- 33:27All right, let's do this. So we start off with a fantastic
- 33:32closed caption, which is uneasy music playing.
- 33:36Yeah, I think all Final Destination scores should be
- 33:39referred to as Uneasy Music. Isn't it the same score in all
- 33:42of them right here too? Yeah.
- 33:43That's what I thought, yeah. There is a surprise day
- 33:46happening. If you ever put me in a car with
- 33:48a blindfold on my face after I'd done my makeup and hair, I'd be
- 33:51a little bit annoyed. Just going to throw that out
- 33:53there right now. This is the 50s Jesse.
- 33:55This is a. Different area.
- 33:57This is the 60s, yes it was an even more different era.
- 34:00Like people are just doing blindfolds all Willy nilly.
- 34:04So this is the sky view that had an early opening and Paul pulled
- 34:08a two favors to be on the list for opening night.
- 34:11We do have this asshole kid that's stealing coins out of the
- 34:14fountain and the security guard is not going to get a break from
- 34:17this kid this whole night. It's like different security
- 34:19guards. This kid is just like.
- 34:21None of these security guards is going to get a break from this
- 34:23kid this whole night. Thank you.
- 34:25Iris is fine with waiting for the elevator to come back down.
- 34:28But this kid is insisting he's like, no, no, get in here, we're
- 34:30at capacity. Come on.
- 34:32It's yeah, like this is his first job and he wants to prove
- 34:35he's so good at it. These are setting facts.
- 34:37It's like we finished five months early.
- 34:39It's 494 feet high. We use 700 tons of cement.
- 34:43I don't know if that one's true. I didn't write that part down.
- 34:45That sounds accurate. And they finished this five
- 34:50months in advance, so they spared no expense.
- 34:53Spared no expense. Just time.
- 34:55They get up there and Paul gives his name to the Maid Rd.
- 34:58He's like, we are over capacity, we cannot accommodate you.
- 35:03And Paul's like, it's okay. I worked out with Jake, Is he
- 35:05here? Can I talk to him?
- 35:06The mayor, he goes. We let Jake go this morning.
- 35:10Yeah, I don't like this Mayor D. Yeah, and it's also extra shitty
- 35:13because the guy behind was like, Mr. Richard, we've got a table
- 35:16right this way for you. Like, fuck you, dude.
- 35:18That was my table. Let me one couple that is
- 35:21clearly stretching their budget to be here.
- 35:23Enjoy their night. But you know what?
- 35:26Iris has the right idea because this is something that we do.
- 35:28Just go to the bar. Just go to the bar.
- 35:29Bar is sometimes the best place to be.
- 35:31You know what? You make friends with the
- 35:32bartender. You get all kinds of like, nice
- 35:35treatment when you go in. That's true, Bartenders,
- 35:37remember that I'm lactose intolerant.
- 35:39After like almost a year of not even eating there.
- 35:41Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 35:43So she had the right call there trying to get some free
- 35:47champagne, but that's. Their favorite kind?
- 35:49Yeah. The height is scary.
- 35:51They're looking out the window. Height is scary.
- 35:52She attaches a little boutonniere to a suit jacket,
- 35:56pricks her finger. We gotta have the.
- 35:57Oh yeah, the little. Premonition and finger prick.
- 36:01Then she starts to feel sick. She heads to the restroom.
- 36:03As she's walking across the dance floor, a piece from the
- 36:05chandelier falls. Blink pierces the glass floor.
- 36:10Is this not even tempered glass? Like dude, they do like.
- 36:14They this shit is so cheap they use the cheapest material they.
- 36:18Finished it five months earlier because they're like well we can
- 36:21do regular glass or tempered glass with the tempered glass is
- 36:24going to take about 5 months longer and they're like Nope,
- 36:28regular glass, it'll be fine. Nobody will ever wear stiletto
- 36:32heels on these dance floors. Yeah, like nobody's going to
- 36:35definitely jump. So she goes and she classic
- 36:39movie moment where she's sick and another woman, a mother,
- 36:43sees her and it's like, how far along are you?
- 36:47How does she know she. Gives her a little pep talk
- 36:50she's like if he loves you he's going to be excited.
- 36:53So that's when they go outside and I start to talk at the same
- 36:56time and she lets him go 1st and behind them a woman loses her
- 37:02hat and the asshole kid has made his way up here and he is
- 37:04throwing pennies over the side and the security guard says
- 37:08don't do that, they can kill somebody.
- 37:09He goes OK. Badass, yeah.
- 37:11And then Paul proposes and he's like, I just want to spend the
- 37:15rest of my life with you. And she goes.
- 37:17You mean us? And he goes, and at first she
- 37:21thinks it's a bad huh? He's like, who is he?
- 37:25Where is that fucking? Is that fucking Jerry?
- 37:29Yeah. So the kid throws a coin and
- 37:31death with a gust of wind like it always does, blows it inside
- 37:35the vent which it goes in there, jams up a fan blade the.
- 37:39Fan will eventually get itself unstuck but the blade goes into
- 37:42a gas pipe yes so that's what's happening there they go inside
- 37:46they start dancing because that's what you do you just got
- 37:48engaged you're pregnant it's the 60s so you're drinking champagne
- 37:51also while. You're I, I was thinking about
- 37:53that too. Is like she's like, this is not
- 37:55common knowledge at this point, right?
- 37:57Like, everybody's just like drinking and having babies.
- 38:02Drinking and having. Babies, that's.
- 38:03A lot of times, like how babies come about, you know?
- 38:06That's true. That's true.
- 38:09That's true. So yeah, so they're, they're
- 38:12doing, you know, as you do with shout, you need to get a little
- 38:14bit softer and a little bit softer now and then you start
- 38:16getting a little bit louder now, a little bit louder now and.
- 38:20Everybody stopped the floor, man.
- 38:22That'd be a floor shatters. Everybody's falling through.
- 38:25Paula's holding on to like a huge glass Shard that's like
- 38:29over a bar, but he can't hold on for very long.
- 38:33His hands are very bloody and he falls and Iris is dealing with
- 38:39this death as she's dealing with everything else happening.
- 38:43As that happens, there's a little bit of like a amber from
- 38:47like the fire from the kitchen, the.
- 38:48Bay Station. Yeah, and it like makes its way
- 38:51to where the gas leak is AT and then suddenly fire everywhere.
- 38:54And I think that woman that gets hit with the fire, I mean,
- 38:57that's. That's.
- 38:58That, Fergus said. Yeah.
- 38:59Good for her, she had her moment there.
- 39:01That's cool. Yeah.
- 39:03So there's a Stampede to the stairs.
- 39:05The little kid is the first one in there.
- 39:09The stairs crumble. He's the only one that wasn't on
- 39:11the crumbled part of the stairs. And he's like, and then so
- 39:14that's the way down. And then the elevator guy is
- 39:19like, all right, quick, let's get on the elevator.
- 39:21The elevator is too full. I like this.
- 39:23It's the maitre DS, like let me in.
- 39:24And they're like, sorry, Sir, we're at capacity just like you
- 39:26told them. But he tries to squish his way
- 39:29on anyway. Door closes on him and he gets.
- 39:32Sliced in half. Yeah, sliced in half.
- 39:35Now the floor. Splits and it starts to tip and
- 39:41it's like dangling and this woman falls onto the window.
- 39:46But it seems like maybe, maybe she can find a way to climb up.
- 39:49She'll be fine. But then the penny falls.
- 39:51Through to the. Lands on the piano.
- 39:54This was Death having fun. It's like I'm going to just give
- 39:56it just enough weight. Like the fact that like a penny
- 39:59is enough weight to get this thing to tip.
- 40:02Butterfly wings flapping, man no.
- 40:03Fucking kid didn't. Yep, it causes the piano to
- 40:06fall. Knocks the woman through the
- 40:08window. That asshole kid has just made
- 40:10it to the bottom of the stairs. He gets squish by piano.
- 40:13He gets the cartoonist death in a franchise full of cartoony
- 40:17deaths. What if it was an anvil?
- 40:19I would love that Make it happen for part 7.
- 40:23Yeah, that's your next assignment.
- 40:25Iris is the only one left up there and she looks around.
- 40:29She sees the box that young JB had been told to hide in as his
- 40:34mother finished up her set. She goes to save him just as the
- 40:38rest of the floor crumbles. She tries to grab onto the edge.
- 40:42Her engagement ring, which is a little bit tight, gets caught on
- 40:45some rebar, but it doesn't save him for long because she starts
- 40:48to get the gloves. She falls.
- 40:49She's impaled, with JB shortly behind her.
- 40:52And then snap back to reality back at the top.
- 40:57Stephanie wakes up screaming in class and the professor says
- 41:01vector equations really aren't that scary.
- 41:04So I don't think she's a freshman if she's talking about
- 41:06vector equations. Or she's just an API, don't
- 41:10fucking. Know you don't do APS in
- 41:11college. Dude, I I wasn't smart enough,
- 41:14OK? You do APS to get college
- 41:17credits. That way you can take fewer
- 41:18classes in. College.
- 41:21So she was in the smart kid class for freshmen?
- 41:24I don't know if she was a freshman.
- 41:25Whatever. Who?
- 41:26Who cares? Whatever, OK.
- 41:29She then has the same dream again that night and her
- 41:32roommate is so fucking over it. I would be too, like just
- 41:37screaming, waking up screaming in the middle of the night.
- 41:39I wonder what that's like. Harsh.
- 41:47I'm kidding, she needs to get the little night.
- 41:50Like what the fuck is that night?
- 41:52Suite mask. Oh yeah, my eye mask that helps
- 41:55me with sleepwalking. Her issue isn't sleepwalking,
- 41:58her issue is her dreams. OK, fair.
- 42:00Fair enough. Yeah.
- 42:01So she's like, yeah, I think it's about.
- 42:03My grandma, my mom needs to go visit her.
- 42:05The woman's name is Iris, and that's my grandmother's name.
- 42:07And nobody else has ever been named Iris in the history of
- 42:10forever. Clearly the goo.
- 42:12Goo Dolls wrote about my grandmother.
- 42:14Strange thing is she's never even met her so how does she
- 42:17know anything about her like them?
- 42:19So she's going to go figure that shit out.
- 42:21Dad is really happy to see her, but he says, you know, Charlie
- 42:25took your room. I put my files in his old room.
- 42:27You're just gonna have to hang out on the couch.
- 42:30She asked about Mom's stuff with like, all the files and all of
- 42:33her personal belongings. And he's like, I got rid of that
- 42:35a while ago. And then tries like I'm going to
- 42:38the cousins and stuff and he's like, I'll drive.
- 42:40He's not exactly thrilled. Like he's not excited this year.
- 42:43He's like, oh, hey, what are you doing here?
- 42:44All right, I'm going to go. You know what's really weird?
- 42:47He is like that with her when she shows up and he's like, oh,
- 42:50you only show up on holidays. But then whenever his mom shows
- 42:53up, it's like, oh cool, let's go hang out.
- 42:55You know, like he's not mad at her for not doing that.
- 42:57Sometimes it's easier to be mad at the people that you have a
- 43:01stronger relationship with. I guess that's true.
- 43:04Yeah. She's like, whatever, I'm going
- 43:06to tag along with you. You don't have to skateboard
- 43:07while driving. And their dad is like, don't
- 43:09talk to Howard about Iris, please don't.
- 43:13As we're driving over, she tells Charlie that she's on academic
- 43:16probation, and he laughs. She's always been a good
- 43:19student. They get there and Paco is
- 43:22missing. Oh, Paco.
- 43:23Stephanie does not know who Paco is, but they're like, you got to
- 43:26help. I love this Paco because he's
- 43:28over there trying to find Paco and Eric is playing a ranked
- 43:31match of Mortal Kombat and he's like, dude, get up, I need to
- 43:33look for Paco. He's like trying to check under
- 43:35the coaches. Like dude, this is a ranked
- 43:36match. I, I've, I heard you do that
- 43:40before, but with Super Smash Brothers.
- 43:42And this was in our old apartment where Talia had the
- 43:48ability to kind of brush up against some of the gaming
- 43:51consoles and she like knocked, knocked it off or whatever.
- 43:55And you were like, I can only have that happen so many times
- 43:58before. I'm not allowed to do these
- 43:59matches anymore. It's true you get banned if you
- 44:02just like quit a game like the IT was the PlayStation
- 44:06especially like it was like very touch sensitive and Talia would
- 44:09go over there and turn it on and off all the time and she would
- 44:12go over there and turn off my fucking PlayStation while I was
- 44:15playing it. I think she just learned how to
- 44:18do it. She's like, all right, you're
- 44:20done. This is Talia time.
- 44:22It's. Like how she has your butt now.
- 44:23Like it's how she's like I need attention, knows the button it.
- 44:27Also had the audio response too. It's like BD.
- 44:30So she's like oh, there we go. Like I'm getting like she's
- 44:33getting a rush from doing that. So Julia comes down.
- 44:39She asks Charlie about the proposal.
- 44:41She doesn't really care to talk to Stephanie that much.
- 44:43Nobody gives a shit about stuff like they are a they're being
- 44:47kind of passive aggressive to her, right, because like she's
- 44:50trying to like get to know she's like, oh, who is this person
- 44:53Charlie? Because he's talking about his
- 44:54prom day and Jules is like, anyways, So what are you going
- 44:58to wear? You know, like she's they're
- 45:00blocking her out of the conversation entirely.
- 45:03But yes, the the mom, the aunt is there welcoming, happy to see
- 45:07her. Howard immediately shuts down
- 45:09when she mentions Iris and eventually he's like, listen,
- 45:13she was abusive. She kept us locked in the house.
- 45:18Eventually, the state had to come take us away.
- 45:20Whenever we had our kids, she would send us these letters just
- 45:23full of, like, talk about death. And we just, we won't talk about
- 45:27this. And Paco is found in the pantry.
- 45:32And Steph begs Brenda to let her know where Iris is.
- 45:36She's like, I'm having these dreams.
- 45:38I just need to go talk to her. And she goes, well, don't look
- 45:41in the bottom drawer in the dining room.
- 45:45Yeah, so she finds letters, which obviously has a return
- 45:48address. She drives out there and Iris
- 45:52has her empty her pockets. This is very much Lori in.
- 45:56Halloween 28. That's what I was thinking too.
- 45:57There's no way that they didn't get some inspiration from.
- 46:00That the only thing is she didn't have to pay her Yeah to
- 46:03come in. That would.
- 46:04Have been funny, much like Lori in Halloween 2018.
- 46:07She's really excited to see her granddaughter.
- 46:09You know, this brings up another point.
- 46:10How did she have any money to fund any of this stuff if she
- 46:15just walked herself away? They were not doing work from
- 46:18home shit back then. Maybe Paul had a really good
- 46:21life insurance policy when he finally died.
- 46:24OK, Fairpoint, there we go. Just a thought.
- 46:27Yeah yeah. So Iris explains that cuz she
- 46:32was like you, you didn't she didn't know that Darlene had
- 46:37left, but she was like did you get my letters?
- 46:38And she's like no no didn't didn't know anything about you
- 46:42until like 2 months ago when ours was like well I got a
- 46:44premonition right before Paul proposed.
- 46:48She grabbed the penny from the kids, stopped the flame Bay from
- 46:50being crazy, goes and interrupts the performance of Shout.
- 46:55Yeah. And this is, I think, probably
- 46:56the only instance where she saved everybody.
- 46:58Yeah, she was like, I saved hundreds of people that night.
- 47:01Everybody, like every other movie, The other people would
- 47:03die in the accident. But yeah.
- 47:05The restaurant closed. Supposedly they're going to do
- 47:09additional repairs, but it never reopened.
- 47:12She taught herself to start to see how death to see death
- 47:16coming, which we've seen with all of our other like, yeah, in
- 47:19the franchise before. She was diagnosed with cancer
- 47:23two months ago, which is right when Stephanie's vision started.
- 47:26And she was like. She she blames it on death.
- 47:29But I mean, that's just kind of like natural, you know, like
- 47:32that could have just happened. Unfortunately so, yeah.
- 47:35And she says she hasn't stepped outside in over 20 years.
- 47:38How did you get? Diagnosed exactly.
- 47:40You can't get diagnosed or presume like this.
- 47:43Not she. Probably doesn't even have a
- 47:44computer. Dude, I was going to say I was
- 47:48going to say that, but I didn't want to like ruin anything.
- 47:51All right, I'm going to, I'm going to bleep that.
- 47:53Out. OK, but I was going to say
- 47:55probably diagnosed her like, shit's fucked.
- 47:57Probably cancer. Like that was his.
- 48:00Like, he had no basis of that. He's like, oh, it's totally
- 48:03cancer. Definitely.
- 48:05Yeah. Well, at least he was like, I
- 48:07don't have a good way to diagnose this but you know, best
- 48:10guess. Yeah, shit's fucked, yo.
- 48:12Yeah, shit's fucked, yo. That's what they wrote on my
- 48:15medical. Center drugs got coming over
- 48:19here in a bit at the crib if you want to chill.
- 48:22Stop. You're giving me.
- 48:23Thank you so much. I'm going to have to believe.
- 48:25That I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
- 48:29If you all know, you know, so Stephanie is starting to get
- 48:34really freaked out because Iris is like, all right, you guys
- 48:36stay here with me. We're going to teach you
- 48:37everything, you know, everything.
- 48:39I know we got to go through this book and she's like, I'm going
- 48:41to go. Back to school and she.
- 48:43Goes no, no, no, it's not safe out there.
- 48:45It's fine. Yeah.
- 48:46So she starts getting really freaked out and she walks
- 48:48outside and she's going to her car.
- 48:50And Iris is like, all right, Seeing is believing.
- 48:53You still don't believe me? Check this shit out.
- 48:55And just like, hold their arms up.
- 48:57And then death just gets her as soon as he has a chance.
- 49:01And so it's like a pole going through her head.
- 49:04It's it's a fire extinguisher, a.
- 49:12Fire extinguisher does not go through her head.
- 49:14It's like a pole. It doesn't like a fire
- 49:15extinguisher would like explode her head.
- 49:17I feel like no. Because it like shot off from
- 49:20the porch. But it's like it stabs her like
- 49:26all the way through. You don't get stabbed all the
- 49:28way if it's going to stab your head.
- 49:31A fire extinguisher would just make your whole head explode.
- 49:34So would a pole flying through your head.
- 49:36No, it would just be like a fucking pole on one part of your
- 49:40head matter. Like a projectile, whatever, it
- 49:43doesn't matter. They go to the funeral.
- 49:45Stephanie back. This is to Howard and Darlene
- 49:48appears. In the RV.
- 49:51Stephanie shuts down. She wants nothing to do with
- 49:53her. She's not going to go to the
- 49:55barbecue. And Charlie's like, listen, give
- 49:57her a chance. Like you've been disappearing
- 49:59since you went to college. You never come home.
- 50:01You never call. You and Julia used to be best
- 50:03friends. You haven't talked to her in how
- 50:04many months? And he's like, and you haven't
- 50:06answered. You never answered my calls.
- 50:07And she's like, I've been busy. Like, it's easy.
- 50:11You could have answered the call.
- 50:12Like, you can tell Steph definitely kind of shitty.
- 50:14Like, not shitty, but like she's ignored, like actively like that
- 50:19stuff right there. And you know, it's not like
- 50:21Charlie's probably blowing her up like every fucking day or
- 50:23anything like that. He's probably just wanted to
- 50:25talk to his sister every now and then.
- 50:26Yeah, and it's not like their mom had just left.
- 50:28And it's not like she's been having these dreams for, you
- 50:31know, the whole year. It's just been two months.
- 50:33So I wonder what the circumstances were like, what
- 50:37things are like when she went to college.
- 50:38Yeah, we don't really get too much contacts, no BBQ time.
- 50:42Barbecue time? Yep.
- 50:44Now coronas it's the the beer from all of the ice Pell L or
- 50:49something like. That yeah, there is a Shard of
- 50:52glass because one of the glasses breaks, a Shard goes into the
- 50:55ice cooler, which I would never want an industrial size ice
- 51:00cooler like that, that I would have to deal with filling up and
- 51:04keeping clean. Yeah.
- 51:07I just, I have no desire for any of that.
- 51:09Whoa, if you BBQ like this family does, this seems like a
- 51:13BBQ type of family. This is like the Fast and
- 51:16Furious. It's like Dom would like this
- 51:19family. That's true, but Dom would also
- 51:22make some of his minions be responsible for cleaning the ice
- 51:25cooler. Oh hell yeah yeah.
- 51:28I I love this whole thing, though, with the sharded glass
- 51:31being scooped into the ice and it gets poured in a cup and you
- 51:34don't know who has it. Yes, I love that.
- 51:38And just keeps fucking with you the entire time in the scene.
- 51:40Like you just don't know who's taking a drink and who's, you
- 51:43know, like we have jewels who like a bug.
- 51:46Yeah. And then like, pours out her
- 51:47drink, you know, like. Darlene shows up, She's got
- 51:51cookies. Charlie takes the first bite and
- 51:53goes, are these peanut butter? And she goes, yeah.
- 51:56And everybody actually gets the worst thing in the world.
- 51:58And she's like, what is happening?
- 51:59Erin's like, so you're trying to kill my brother?
- 52:02Yeah. He's allergic to peanuts.
- 52:04He is super protective of his brother.
- 52:07I think it's kind of nice. It is nice, yeah.
- 52:10Hey, no rank match going on right now he can worry about.
- 52:12This. Yeah, He can focus.
- 52:13Yeah. Paco's been found.
- 52:16Everything's OK. They do a toast to family.
- 52:20People are trampolining. It's just a good time.
- 52:24Howard offers Darlene a spare room, but she declines.
- 52:27Yeah, and then Bobby's like, hey, Dad, come over here, show
- 52:31us your epic backflips or whatever.
- 52:33And Darlene's watching the trampoline very closely, makes
- 52:37him stop and then goes over there and there's like a garden
- 52:40hoe, I guess. A rake maybe?
- 52:42It's definitely a. Rake.
- 52:44It's more sharp than your average rake.
- 52:48That's a rake that could kill. Most Rakes I see are like the
- 52:50plastic ones. They are kind of like curled.
- 52:53If somebody has this backyard set up, they're going to spring
- 52:55for the like, steel rake. I feel like that rake would just
- 52:59fuck your shit up like it would fuck up your grass.
- 53:02You're not. You don't get a rake.
- 53:03Like man, my grass is looking too good today, I'm going to
- 53:05fuck that. No.
- 53:07Like I can see it. Like, think about all the trees
- 53:10we have. If we were people that, you
- 53:11know, felt the need to rake like, we would need an ice rake
- 53:16like that. I'd get one of those plastic
- 53:17ones. And you would have a hard time
- 53:19with it. And then you'd be like, man, I
- 53:21think I should probably get a better rake than the one we
- 53:23have. Man fuck this.
- 53:25I'm gonna, I'm sick. You just get mad at your
- 53:27grasping. I'm just gonna fuck it up.
- 53:29Like who gives a shit? Meanwhile, Stephanie is at home
- 53:32and she starts to get a bad feeling.
- 53:34So she's driving over, she's calling, nobody's answering.
- 53:37And as soon as she gets there, we see, where are we at?
- 53:41Howard does his backflip. The rake has been moved.
- 53:44It was put over near a bunch of other tools which falls.
- 53:48Yep, knocks over the beer which causes like it falls on a button
- 53:52which turns on a hose. It starts going off.
- 53:55More tools start falling. Bobby falls on the trampoline
- 53:59like it rips, and it startles Julia, who knocks over her drink
- 54:03which had the glass in it. Howard walks, he steps on it, he
- 54:06goes ow ow ow, sits down on the ground as you do when you have a
- 54:09Shard of glass fasten your foot, and then the lawn mower, which
- 54:13has been turned on, comes over and gets him on the head.
- 54:15It's like he was welcoming it. Yes.
- 54:18He's like, oh, here we go. Yes, that would be so horrifying
- 54:23to watch. Like your dad's over there
- 54:25having a good time, family BBQ. Oh my God.
- 54:27Well, I'm over to the face. It's like that sinister scene.
- 54:31They have another funeral. Stephanie's looking through the
- 54:34book and she finds a line that says JB found someone who
- 54:36survived. She starts putting together this
- 54:39family tree slash timeline and different family trees all
- 54:43coming from the Sky View survivors and they were all
- 54:46killed in the order of the premonition.
- 54:49But as she explains to her family who she has gathered
- 54:51around, it took death a while to get to everybody.
- 54:54So they had families that were never supposed to exist.
- 54:57So those families had to be killed.
- 54:58And it was starting with like the oldest family members side
- 55:02of the family and then it would go down younger and younger,
- 55:05which means Eric is next and everybody is pissed at her for
- 55:10doing this. Yeah, except for Darlene, who's
- 55:12like they just that they don't see it, you know, like they'll
- 55:16they won't come around. They won't alienate you.
- 55:19Better get an RV. Eric is at work.
- 55:24He is doing piercings and his boss tells him to lock up.
- 55:27And he's like, you didn't say anything about locking up.
- 55:30And he tells the girl as he's piercing, he's like, Can you
- 55:32believe that? My old man just died?
- 55:34I came in as a favor and now he wants me to lock up.
- 55:38You know what? That is inconsiderate.
- 55:42Dude, tattoo parlors stay open past 1:00 AM because it's like
- 55:461:00 AM. Steph is blowing up his phone.
- 55:48He's like fuck off, I'm trying to fall asleep.
- 55:50I don't know. I guess it would probably depend
- 55:52on where and what kind of parlour and.
- 55:54Well, the woman that he's treating just walks out without
- 55:56paying, Yeah. Like and.
- 55:59Usually those are services that you tend to pay for after the
- 56:01fact. Tip.
- 56:03But yeah, he didn't get a tip. No.
- 56:05And then she's like my and considering he's like, my dad
- 56:09died, I got to come in here and you don't tip like it's fucked
- 56:14up. So he's going to treat himself.
- 56:16Well, he's locking up and he has on Eric's tattoo mix and as he's
- 56:20starting to clean he. Now I guess.
- 56:23It's a sad mix. Eric's sad mix.
- 56:25Yeah, and he tattoos himself. He freak hands.
- 56:27Actually. Some really nice script.
- 56:29I was impressed with that. Yeah, he didn't do stencil.
- 56:32Yeah, he's tattooed dead on his arm, and then a fan has knocked
- 56:38a chain loose because they're chained like on the ceiling,
- 56:40which by the way, this tattoo parlor is called marked, which
- 56:44they're all marked for death. Good catch.
- 56:48So the chain gets knocked loose and it whips around and gets
- 56:51caught in Eric's septum ring, and he's trying to get it
- 56:54uncocked. Meanwhile, some of the cleaning
- 56:56solutions have been knocked over.
- 56:57They ignite. So there's a fire starting.
- 56:59He's trying to get his face unhooked.
- 57:01And then we see the shop just kind of goes up in flames.
- 57:05He falls down. There's like some jewelry that
- 57:08he falls on top of. And then we just cut to the next
- 57:11day. Steph wakes up Charlie.
- 57:13She's worried because Eric hasn't answered any of her calls
- 57:17or text messages. She asked if he's answered
- 57:21Charlie and he hasn't. So they decide to drive over
- 57:24there and then as they're driving, they almost hit him.
- 57:28Irony of ironies, he is wearing a fire department shirt which I
- 57:33think kind of added to. Like when there were stills of
- 57:36this, I think it added to some of the confusion people had.
- 57:39About the first responder thing, yeah, I wonder if that was like
- 57:41a old reference. I think it was just because the
- 57:44fire department had, you know. Oh, they just gave him.
- 57:47Yeah, you're right. A.
- 57:48Shirt to wear. That's kind of crazy.
- 57:50Here's a souvenir for almost dying in a fire.
- 57:52Well, an even cooler souvenir is he got a little heart-shaped
- 57:56brand jewelry right over there. Look.
- 57:58At that, got branded. That was funny.
- 58:02So they're trying to talk to him and tell him that he needs to be
- 58:05safe and he's like, I didn't die last night and I could have.
- 58:07And she's like, look, you have to be careful.
- 58:09Look, there is a leaf trimmer. And then we've got some kids in
- 58:14the soccer ball and they're like, what's going to happen?
- 58:16She's like, well, the tree trimmer could fall.
- 58:18It would start with a leaf blower who would blow leaves
- 58:21into the kids face at the soccer ball.
- 58:23And then the soccer ball comes flying at you and he's like, oh,
- 58:26I'm going to die of what? A soccer ball to the head.
- 58:28Julia has no patience for this conversation.
- 58:30She's got to go on a run and as she's doing that, we see the
- 58:34exact thing she predicted. She's playing out in the
- 58:36background. And she gets knocked into a
- 58:38trash can. The trash can gets dumped into
- 58:41the dump truck, and they go running after this dump truck.
- 58:44And This is why you don't wear headphones while driving.
- 58:48It's a safety hazard, but it doesn't kill you.
- 58:52It makes you strong. I don't.
- 58:54That is ridiculous to me because why would this not have a
- 58:57fucking radio set up? You know what I mean?
- 58:59Like. Well, because he's also on,
- 59:02like, a dating app, is he? Yeah.
- 59:04He's like swiping through. Dating crew that doesn't no, no,
- 59:07OK, that's a different type of distraction.
- 59:10I'm just saying like I think he's doing that and he's like
- 59:12blasting like his horny music. Well, he could blast it from the
- 59:16fucking speakers of his own vehicle.
- 59:18It's not his own vehicle, it's a city vehicle.
- 59:21The municipality isn't paying for his radio services.
- 59:24You you tell me that thing does not have Bluetooth.
- 59:26I am has a giant fucking claw on the side of it, but it does not
- 59:30have Bluetooth. It didn't.
- 59:31They didn't. You can get cars today that
- 59:34don't have automatic windows. I fully believe the dump truck
- 59:36does not have Bluetooth. OK, whatever.
- 59:39Sure. Well, they try and stop him.
- 59:42They do successfully stop him, but it's too late.
- 59:45Steph made it up to the top there, got Jules by the hand,
- 59:48tried to pull her out, but it's crushed.
- 59:51Like, yeah, her head just gets cut in half.
- 59:53You see all of it. It's pretty nasty.
- 59:57So another family meeting, Brenda's just beside herself and
- 1:00:03she tells Stephanie that she didn't believe her and it's kind
- 1:00:06of her fault that Jules died because Eric's.
- 1:00:10Biological followers, actually. Jen Jerry fucking Fenberry.
- 1:00:17It's sad, but it's like the way that this is played out is kind
- 1:00:21of funny, like just his response to it and.
- 1:00:23Then my sweet little golden retriever Bobby, he's like, I
- 1:00:29appreciate that our family is going to need some serious
- 1:00:31counseling in the future, but I, I am next and I would like to
- 1:00:36figure out what we could do to. Can we, can we all focus on the
- 1:00:39fact that we're all about to fucking die?
- 1:00:41Like, yeah. It's like we should find JB,
- 1:00:43which Darlene did. Read some of the letters from
- 1:00:46her mom who mentioned her friend who mentioned Iris's friend JB
- 1:00:50who worked at the hospital. It's like, it's like something
- 1:00:53river muddy, clear river is like clear.
- 1:00:56Now it's what is that Hope River?
- 1:00:58Yeah, Hope River. Yeah, that was a funny little
- 1:01:02gag right there, because we've seen like, there was a queer
- 1:01:04river thing sign in Fond Destination Two.
- 1:01:08I thought for sure that that was going to be a good place.
- 1:01:10Destination 4 as well. Was there.
- 1:01:12Oh, yeah, you're right. There was, yeah.
- 1:01:13Yeah. So they find more blood work
- 1:01:17bricks. Bobby is very, very nervous to
- 1:01:20travel. He's like, I'm not staying here
- 1:01:22by myself. Yeah, because they're like, you
- 1:01:24need to stay here, it's safer. And he's like, I read that means
- 1:01:26death book. Yeah, like so there's so many
- 1:01:28house deaths, and that's true. So Stephanie, Charlie, Darlene
- 1:01:33and Bobby are about to get on there.
- 1:01:34And Eric goes, did any of you do a nut check?
- 1:01:36And I'm like, what? He goes, you almost killed my
- 1:01:39brother with the peanut butter cookies before Darlene.
- 1:01:42And she goes, Oh yeah, over the counter.
- 1:01:44So he goes out, he gets it and he looks at Bobby and he goes
- 1:01:46nut check. And Bobby goes, thank you.
- 1:01:48And then he goes nut check. Right in the nuts.
- 1:01:50Which they're still brothers. And he's like, you know what?
- 1:01:52That's a good one can respect him.
- 1:01:56They arrive at the hospital. We have the revolving door
- 1:01:59moment here where they're all very nervous to walk through the
- 1:02:01revolving door there, but they make it in.
- 1:02:04They find blood work after asking around and he is like not
- 1:02:10that surprised to see them. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:02:12He figured when Cyrus's death happened that they would be
- 1:02:16coming to see him. They know that he he knows that
- 1:02:18he's next after they're all dead.
- 1:02:22He's like Yep, cancer got me too, just like I had her.
- 1:02:25And he said that we kept in touch, we brainstormed different
- 1:02:28ideas. We afford a Federic cabin.
- 1:02:30I got her the best medical treatment I could.
- 1:02:33He's like the only things that have kind of worked.
- 1:02:37You can kill somebody else and take their time, but you never
- 1:02:39know how much time somebody else has.
- 1:02:41Or you can die and you have to actually flatline and then be
- 1:02:44brought back. And that's risky in and of
- 1:02:46itself. It's only worked with one
- 1:02:48person. Can really cornic.
- 1:02:51So Eric is team kill Bobby and as the whole family is kind of
- 1:02:56like arguing about this because JB says all this he goes I'm
- 1:02:59retiring, I'm enjoying my life. Suggests you do the same ta ta.
- 1:03:03I like how everybody's response is like, that's it.
- 1:03:05Like he just like we just came all this way to tell like be
- 1:03:08told we're just going to die pretty much.
- 1:03:11Except Eric. Eric's like, yeah, we're we're
- 1:03:13going to kill Bobby, but then we're going to bring him back.
- 1:03:15How is this going to work? So like I understand, like I
- 1:03:20feel like dying through an allergic reaction is not the
- 1:03:24type of thing that you could just like resuscitate somebody
- 1:03:26that easily from. I don't really know either.
- 1:03:29It just it seems like a very bad idea.
- 1:03:32But I do like that Eric is going to get him just a pack of
- 1:03:36unsalted roasted nuts, even. And it probably goes, fuck that.
- 1:03:39If we're going to do this, I want the peanut butter cups.
- 1:03:41Yeah. That's a good choice, yeah.
- 1:03:43And. So they go and they hide in an
- 1:03:45MRI. Yeah, they they ran out with
- 1:03:48everybody else not knowing where they went to, and they're all
- 1:03:50looking for them now because they know that they're about to
- 1:03:53try this. Eric to get the peanut butter
- 1:03:56cups because they get stuck. He kind of shakes the machine.
- 1:03:58It causes the spring to pop out. It cracks the glass on the
- 1:04:04vending machine, but the peanut butter cups come out.
- 1:04:06Eric grabs a wheelchair. He was like, listen, you're
- 1:04:09going to eat this. When you start to flatline, I'm
- 1:04:11going to run you out there to the doctor.
- 1:04:13They'll bring you back. Boom, you're good.
- 1:04:15We don't have to kill a baby. Oh yeah.
- 1:04:18And they had that moment there where they're just looking at
- 1:04:20the baby like. Just like that.
- 1:04:21No, don't you touch that. Don't touch the baby and he
- 1:04:26makes him give up his EpiPen and he's like, but I I need it at
- 1:04:29which like somebody who's had a lifelong allergy that has been
- 1:04:32told to keep that EpiPen on him probably since he was a small
- 1:04:35child. I can't even imagine how
- 1:04:37ingrained it is in him to like not.
- 1:04:39This is one of the things where you're like, you're on board,
- 1:04:41but then the second that that your survival instincts, you're
- 1:04:44like, no, fuck this, I'm out. Give me the pin.
- 1:04:46Yeah. And so he starts to eat it.
- 1:04:51He goes, Oh my God, He's like, what do you feel it?
- 1:04:53He goes, this is so good. Yeah.
- 1:04:56Meanwhile, while all of this has been happening, they've
- 1:04:58accidentally turned on the machine, the MRI machine.
- 1:05:01And it's it's showing that like there's a manual override option
- 1:05:07and the magnet would be super bulk and powerful if that
- 1:05:09happens. It keeps like gradually going up
- 1:05:11and then they keep accidentally hitting it and causing it to go
- 1:05:14up even further. And then so Bobby starts choking
- 1:05:17and starts coughing. His face is swelling up, but at
- 1:05:20the same time Eric is noticing that his earrings are being
- 1:05:24pulled towards the machine. They get ripped out of his ears,
- 1:05:27his septum piercing gets ripped out his nipple rings and we see
- 1:05:31that his weebies pierced. He's just this like a game, like
- 1:05:33where's this dude pierced like kneecaps and stuff like that.
- 1:05:40And he gets basically, he gets pulled into the machine, the
- 1:05:43wheelchair flies in after him. We get a really cool shot
- 1:05:46because he's got like a skull tattoo on his stomach.
- 1:05:49And the metal. Chair pierces through it, we get
- 1:05:51a shot of it and it's. He's he's getting reverse
- 1:05:53scorpion in the worst way possible.
- 1:05:56No, that is a scorpion. He's getting Scorpion.
- 1:05:59Yeah, a reverse scorpion's a shrimp.
- 1:06:03You're right. He's getting Scorpion in the
- 1:06:06horse. You're so right.
- 1:06:10A shrimp? Do people call it shrimp?
- 1:06:12Is that real? Yeah, no, I've got 2
- 1:06:16subscriptions on Reddit. 1 is to full scorpion and one is to full
- 1:06:19shrimp. Wow I never knew about the
- 1:06:21shrimp one before, I thought you just came up with that.
- 1:06:24No, no, I wish I could take credit for it.
- 1:06:28OK, yeah, he's scorpioned here and yeah, gets ripped in half.
- 1:06:31That's a fucking gnarly way to go.
- 1:06:32Bobby has to watch it all unfold and he sees where he's still
- 1:06:36holding on to the EpiPen over there, so he's got to crawl over
- 1:06:39there and pry it from his dead hands.
- 1:06:41The nurse at the nurses station notices that like pens are being
- 1:06:45pulled towards the room and she's like, this isn't good.
- 1:06:49And she goes and she opens the door.
- 1:06:51She goes are you OK? But at the time she opens the
- 1:06:53door, the spring from the vending machine is pulled by the
- 1:06:56magnet, goes right through the crack in the vending machine,
- 1:06:59and pierces Bobby's skull. You know what happened?
- 1:07:01Head exploded. Top of his head fucking
- 1:07:04explodes. OK, that's not a fire
- 1:07:08extinguisher. It's more akin to this is.
- 1:07:10Smaller than a fire extinguisher, this is a fucking.
- 1:07:12Spring smaller than a telephone pole that you thought?
- 1:07:15I never said a telephone pole, I said a pole, a rod.
- 1:07:19You did not say rod, you said pole.
- 1:07:23They, you all know what I mean. They everybody knew that they're
- 1:07:26right. Not doing this.
- 1:07:29OK, so it's bad. Darlene, Stephanie, and Charlie
- 1:07:34decide that they're going to go to Iris's cabin because it was
- 1:07:37the only place that she was safe for 20 years.
- 1:07:39They need to get Darlene into the cabin to save everyone else.
- 1:07:42They sense a move coming when they get there, so Stephanie
- 1:07:46just Rams the gate to try and get them in.
- 1:07:48This causes the stuff up top where it was already kind of
- 1:07:51faulty to begin with. She had like her light systems,
- 1:07:53but it knocks it loose and there's like sparks flying out
- 1:07:56from up top now. And it also causes something to
- 1:07:58fall and break the buckle button on the seat belt buckles.
- 1:08:01So Stephanie can't get them buckled, but she's like, you
- 1:08:03just need to go in, be safe as long as you get in the cabin.
- 1:08:06The the problem is there's a there's like sparks that are
- 1:08:10flying. They get into the gutters.
- 1:08:12The gutters haven't been cleaned.
- 1:08:13So they catch fire. When Darlene opens the door to
- 1:08:17the cabin, a spark flies into the gas stove.
- 1:08:20It ignites boom explosion and knocks both Darlene and Charlie
- 1:08:24back. Charlie is under like a wall of
- 1:08:27the house. Darlene manages to get up, She
- 1:08:31goes over, she saves Charlie. Yeah, like partially burned.
- 1:08:34Yeah. And then she's like.
- 1:08:35The RV over into the water and she's like go save your.
- 1:08:39Sister no R Steph is like drowning at this point and
- 1:08:43Darlene's like don't worry, I'll go like I'll be a distraction.
- 1:08:46You have to go save her and then whack.
- 1:08:48Immediately squished. Now that's a pole that actually
- 1:08:52takes her out. Charlie gets in there and he has
- 1:08:55tried to cut Stephanie loose where you see Stephanie stops
- 1:09:00moving in the water. Yeah, he, he is having the
- 1:09:02hardest time with his knife. He does this thing where he
- 1:09:04drops it and grabs it and he tries to flip it and it just
- 1:09:07basically almost cuts his finger off.
- 1:09:10Oh, gross. Yeah.
- 1:09:11And he successfully gets her out and then takes her out, gives
- 1:09:15CPR to her. And hey, she is alive.
- 1:09:19She was dead. And now she is alive again.
- 1:09:20She has risen. Sometime later they have Paco.
- 1:09:24Paco, this is. Another nice little terrarium
- 1:09:27he's going to prom. Dad's back.
- 1:09:29Dad's back. He's back from his walk.
- 1:09:31Like that was some crazy shit. Glad I missed it.
- 1:09:34That sounds really fucked up. Yeah, they they go to pick up
- 1:09:40the the rest of the group. They're all going to be in a
- 1:09:43limo. Stephanie's putting the
- 1:09:45boutonniere on Charlie's suit and she pricks her finger.
- 1:09:48OK, this brings me to something here.
- 1:09:51Is this the start of a premonition?
- 1:09:54Does she have time to change this?
- 1:09:56Because we don't see afterwards. But this is always happens right
- 1:09:58before premonition. I don't know, but one thing we
- 1:10:01didn't talk about is when they were leaving the hospital, they
- 1:10:02had IRS's. They have Gammy's death book and
- 1:10:06the penny from the sky view falls out.
- 1:10:08This old woman that had been in the hospital picks it up, takes
- 1:10:11care. That's right.
- 1:10:11She as everybody's getting ready for the prom, she goes to
- 1:10:15purchase a cookie from a children's lemonade stand.
- 1:10:18When she opens up her little coin purse, Penny falls out,
- 1:10:22lands on the railroad tracks. The railroad tracks cannot get
- 1:10:25their proper connection. This.
- 1:10:26Is poetic. Fucking death.
- 1:10:29Got to give him a hand. Right here, man.
- 1:10:31I mean, he set that up really well, and Doctor Asshole's like,
- 1:10:34well, you didn't actually die. And so here comes the train.
- 1:10:38Actually, Charlie, you're not that good.
- 1:10:40Actually, Charlie, you need to calm the.
- 1:10:42Fuck out. If you want to talk to somebody
- 1:10:44that's saved a dead person, talk to me.
- 1:10:46I'm. A doctor.
- 1:10:47Yeah, he's got a doctorate. The train comes loose.
- 1:10:56Also we see the car from like the opening drives by too.
- 1:11:00So that's a nice little call back.
- 1:11:02And I think it's funny that like they're like they throw in the
- 1:11:07logs at the end there too, because I guess the the train
- 1:11:10was carrying logs. Yeah.
- 1:11:12And then it just like it gets Charlie and stuff and.
- 1:11:15Oh. Yeah, Steph, than Charlie, she's
- 1:11:18got to go first. OK, sure.
- 1:11:21That's the rules. I'll make the rules.
- 1:11:23OK. There's a report on them.
- 1:11:24OK, well report done. That's the end of that movie.
- 1:11:28No after credits. Nope.
- 1:11:30All right. I think it's still 9.
- 1:11:31I think it's really good. Yeah, I agree.
- 1:11:33I might change the beginning a little bit to how Stephanie
- 1:11:37makes her way to Iris, but that's the only change I would
- 1:11:40really strongly want to make. OK.
- 1:11:42I still feel like it should have been Kimberly as the mom.
- 1:11:46I feel like that would have made sense.
- 1:11:48That would have been interesting.
- 1:11:49That would have been fun. Tie it all together.
- 1:11:51Yeah. Yeah, but that's the only other
- 1:11:54thing that I would change myself.
- 1:11:56Talia, she was pretty active during this.
- 1:12:00Yeah, she was Bargain. She was tantruman.
- 1:12:03She was not letting cats lay near her.
- 1:12:06Yeah, she was kind of a lively one that night, I think.
- 1:12:09She was concerned about Paco. She was she was like, where is
- 1:12:12Paco gonna go? Like what do we do about Paco?
- 1:12:15And like, she's like, she heard like turtles live to be 100.
- 1:12:19Yeah, she's like, those are almost as old as I'm gonna be.
- 1:12:22Yeah, yeah, Like gotta find that Paco home.
- 1:12:26So she'd probably give it like 8.
- 1:12:29Eight, yeah. OK.
- 1:12:32What's she deducting points for? I think she's deducting points
- 1:12:36because Paco doesn't have like a queer home at the end like that
- 1:12:40right there. It could have been it was so
- 1:12:42close to landing it, but like she's.
- 1:12:44Worried about Paco's going to end up with Jerry Fendberry?
- 1:12:46It's like loose threads, like they just like they left us
- 1:12:49hanging on a cliffhanger. Who's always ultimate warrior?
- 1:12:53I'm going to. I was going to say it.
- 1:12:55I guess Paco, because Paco is missing.
- 1:12:58Where did they find him? In the pantry.
- 1:13:00Oh, and pantry. You're right.
- 1:13:01Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what?
- 1:13:03You're so right. Because Zoe is all about getting
- 1:13:05in that chair right now. She really is.
- 1:13:07We have a childproof lock and two industrial grade magnets.
- 1:13:12Yeah, all right. Is this a who would or a hauler
- 1:13:15for Cordelia? I think I use a who.
- 1:13:19I think she enjoyed it. You think so?
- 1:13:20She was. On my lap pretty much the whole
- 1:13:22time, and when she got off my lap she went to the cat bed on
- 1:13:25the back of the couch. Yeah, that's true experience.
- 1:13:27Yeah. She's.
- 1:13:28She's getting into these here now, you know, like she's along
- 1:13:32for the ride. Can't wait for 2028 when the new
- 1:13:34one comes out. It's like.
- 1:13:36There's no concept of 2028 that she thinks it'll be a good one.
- 1:13:39Just like what's a year she's even been alive?
- 1:13:42How long? All right.
- 1:13:45All right, we don't 2 Dream sequel on this.
- 1:13:48No, but we do need to come up with a new tagline.
- 1:13:51Yes, we do. Your mother's hair, your
- 1:13:54father's eyes, your grandmother's death.
- 1:13:57Premonitions. OK, I I kind of like that.
- 1:14:04OK, yeah, I'm not coming up with anything else myself right now,
- 1:14:08so I'm I'm willing to roll with you on this one right here.
- 1:14:12We already talked about what Don would do, like if they had
- 1:14:14coronas, Howard's death would have never happened.
- 1:14:17I think that's true. Like, like, first of all, you
- 1:14:20wouldn't be scooping ice like you're just drinking from the
- 1:14:22bottle. That's not going to get in
- 1:14:24there. Come on.
- 1:14:25And if it does, it's not going to get in the drink because the
- 1:14:27drink is in a bottle. Yeah, I think really the movie
- 1:14:33would have ended at the BBQ because like there would have
- 1:14:37been like that was a fucked up. Good Fast and Furious movie
- 1:14:39should. Yeah, like after somebody dies,
- 1:14:42they're like, all right, family barbecue.
- 1:14:44And then, like, I think by default, because that's how most
- 1:14:47of those movies end. So it's like, we have to wrap it
- 1:14:49up here. Like, we can't keep going.
- 1:14:51It's a BBQ. It's like the.
- 1:14:52Story cannot continue. So that's what would happen.
- 1:14:55That's. What would happen?
- 1:14:58Where did you relate to? I relate to Eric in that match
- 1:15:03with Mortal Kombat. I used to be really fucking good
- 1:15:07at Mortal Kombat, OK? I believe you.
- 1:15:11That shit was good. Johnny Cage, he was my guy.
- 1:15:15I also relate to Eric because my dad was not my biological father
- 1:15:20either and he is still the wallpaper on my phone.
- 1:15:22Oh yeah. So.
- 1:15:25Eric Sad Mixed for everybody. I could I could have gone into
- 1:15:30more detail and been sadder. I could have gone into more
- 1:15:33detail too and been sad. Talk about Talia ruining my
- 1:15:35fucking matches. You told me I didn't mourn that
- 1:15:40ranking. OK, Travis has to read the
- 1:15:44review because IMDb has decided I'm not allowed to read user
- 1:15:49reviews without logging in, but he can.
- 1:15:52Either you got a premonition of what's the come with IMDb or
- 1:15:55like your phone bugged the fuck out on you.
- 1:15:58But yeah, it did not let Jesse look at.
- 1:16:00Every time I try I was like, you have to sign it and I was like,
- 1:16:02but I don't want to sign it, I just want to read the reviews.
- 1:16:05Yeah, I was able to pull one up, so I hope that that's not a new
- 1:16:07thing that's common, but I did pull a -1 because I knew we both
- 1:16:11liked it. It's a 3 out of 10 titled Love
- 1:16:13the franchise but this was mediocre viewed on my birthday.
- 1:16:19The Final Destination series has always been one of my
- 1:16:21favourites, so I went into Bloodlines anticipating that
- 1:16:24same mix of paranoia, tension and clever set pieces.
- 1:16:27It's entertaining but it never reaches the ingenuity or novelty
- 1:16:31of the early films. What made the first few films
- 1:16:34stand out was their precision. The slow burning dread, the
- 1:16:37misdirections, the unexpected everyday objects become becoming
- 1:16:41instruments of death. Bloodlines tries to emulate the
- 1:16:43formula but lacks the craftsmanship and whip.
- 1:16:47Most of the setups are too simplistic and the deaths too
- 1:16:49rushed, which doesn't allow tension to build.
- 1:16:52The characters aren't interesting either.
- 1:16:54Earlier entries gave you clear personalities and group dynamics
- 1:16:57that made you feel part of their circle.
- 1:16:59Bloodlines doesn't invest enough in them for their lives to
- 1:17:03matter. Indeed, the mythos behind the
- 1:17:05franchise feels recycled and tenuous.
- 1:17:07Here it didn't feel or I didn't need to reinvent itself, but it
- 1:17:11didn't add anything new. Bloodlines isn't terrible.
- 1:17:14It's fun and made with affection for the brand.
- 1:17:16Fans might be grateful for Another chapter, but it isn't
- 1:17:19memorable, more of a reminder. As a franchise, its entry is
- 1:17:23functional, but as a Final Destination film, it's
- 1:17:25uninspired. I thought that that was pretty
- 1:17:28well put together there. I guess we'll put together, but
- 1:17:31I would argue that we do have an idea of like the dynamics and.
- 1:17:36It's a family. It's a family like.
- 1:17:38I think that's the first time. See how they react?
- 1:17:40Yeah. This is the first time it's
- 1:17:42actually been a family all tied into this together.
- 1:17:44The rest is always strangers coming in together.
- 1:17:47Yeah, which that's fresh. We're friends.
- 1:17:51We're friends, Yeah, friends, but mostly strangers.
- 1:17:55Friends or Co workers? I mean, there's been a mix
- 1:17:58throughout it, but we just haven't had this like family.
- 1:18:01Yeah, yeah, this is like the most tight knit it's been for a
- 1:18:05group of people, for sure. Yeah, it's really hard to like
- 1:18:10reinvent this thing. I mean like this person said,
- 1:18:13you don't have to reinvent it, but I thought that they injected
- 1:18:15enough freshness into it for myself.
- 1:18:17That's The thing is that you don't have to reinvent it, but
- 1:18:19you also can't regurgitate the same thing that happens over and
- 1:18:22over. And that's something that we've
- 1:18:23talked about a lot as we've gone through this franchise is that
- 1:18:25every movie adds like a little bit of something else to the
- 1:18:29mythos of it. And I think that this does does
- 1:18:33it as well. It does part of what you do as a
- 1:18:36new entry in this franchise and I personally enjoyed it.
- 1:18:39I think this one, I mean, I don't know, like is this an like
- 1:18:43a like an origin? Like I was saying before, I
- 1:18:45think that that would be an interesting word.
- 1:18:47It's like providing like potentially the origin to all of
- 1:18:51the movies. I'd be annoyed if it was an
- 1:18:52origin, sorry. You think so?
- 1:18:53I I would absolutely be annoyed. I don't think so.
- 1:18:56I know I would be annoyed. You want to think again?
- 1:18:58No, because the thing about death is death has always been
- 1:19:02death will always be death is there just like we're seeing
- 1:19:07like different premonitions. And it would be interesting to
- 1:19:09see how the sky view if and how it tied into like the other
- 1:19:14movies. But I don't think that this is
- 1:19:17the only incident death has ever intervened.
- 1:19:19I don't think it's the first time.
- 1:19:20I, you know, I don't like that as a concept.
- 1:19:24So I think. Are you telling me nobody has
- 1:19:26died before the 1960s? No.
- 1:19:29Never it. It was a novel at the time.
- 1:19:32New. One thing though, I don't think
- 1:19:37that this movie, I think this movie has plenty of tense
- 1:19:39moments. Like we were talking about the
- 1:19:40BBQ with the Shard of glass. Like that was a seed that was
- 1:19:42planted. I don't feel like that was
- 1:19:44rushed. The only one that I feel was
- 1:19:47kind of rushed was the one with jewels, because I felt like they
- 1:19:50did. They treated that one more as a
- 1:19:52gag than an actual like horror moment.
- 1:19:55Yeah, it would have been nice if that had been.
- 1:19:59I mean, I know there's a way to do this without it being
- 1:20:01somebody that's not in the family, but if it had been
- 1:20:03somebody not in the family, it wouldn't have mattered so much
- 1:20:05that it was in the background like that.
- 1:20:07But Jules literally got pushed in the background.
- 1:20:09Yeah, I mean, like, it's funny. Like I, I'll give you credit,
- 1:20:13like that was more of a horror comedy moment right there.
- 1:20:15But like that, like it that one, they didn't have any of the
- 1:20:19tension. They didn't have any of like the
- 1:20:21setup or anything like that. She just kind of like spitballed
- 1:20:25an idea of what could happen in death was like, sure, I'm like,
- 1:20:28here you go, She. Did that work for?
- 1:20:30Her. She did, yeah.
- 1:20:32And that's like, fine. If you're going to start calling
- 1:20:33this shit, I guess I'll start doing it, you know, like, that
- 1:20:37was the only one I felt was not. Oh, I guess like, at the end,
- 1:20:41it's all kind of sudden too, with all of them.
- 1:20:44Like when they get to Iris's house, it kind of like, falls
- 1:20:46apart real fast for everybody. Yeah.
- 1:20:48That's kind of how all these movies go at the end.
- 1:20:50Yeah. OK.
- 1:20:52OK, so let's do some listen reviews.
- 1:20:55Yay. All right, I got several here,
- 1:20:59Cubesafe says. Death continues to be petty
- 1:21:01little bitch. That's true.
- 1:21:04Yeah. I think like in that moment
- 1:21:06right there, like that's like, all right.
- 1:21:07Is that what you want to happen? Yeah, I was going to say also, I
- 1:21:10think some of those where it's just like, yeah, sure, whatever,
- 1:21:13let's do it this way. Maybe death is tired.
- 1:21:16It's been chasing down several families.
- 1:21:18It's been decades, yeah. It's like, yeah, let's just wrap
- 1:21:21this shit. You guys are the last one.
- 1:21:24I got to get blood worth after this, but I'll get you guys
- 1:21:27first. Let's just get this shit over
- 1:21:29with, yeah? Tucker says.
- 1:21:31Props. My favorite of the series.
- 1:21:33Some fun twist, good characters and great kills. 8 1/2 out of
- 1:21:3710. Dang, all right.
- 1:21:39Yeah, I think this one has some of the more creative kills for
- 1:21:42sure, too. Yeah, like that.
- 1:21:44The one in the hospital was really cool.
- 1:21:46Michael E Howard says fond Ascension Bloodlines is a blast.
- 1:21:49That opening scene is terrifying.
- 1:21:51The kills were fun and unique. The last sad lips line from Tony
- 1:21:55Todd just brought tears to my eyes.
- 1:21:56This is an 8 out of 10 for me. That's such a sweet moment.
- 1:22:00Yeah, that's definitely a highlight in the entire series.
- 1:22:04All right. And finally, Lord Zombie, who
- 1:22:05says say what you want. Best of the series.
- 1:22:08The family made a great group for the setup.
- 1:22:10Crazy kills, fun fake outs and amazing Tony Todd and his final
- 1:22:14scene, If it didn't bring a tear to your eye, you are a robot. 12
- 1:22:18out of 10. Damn.
- 1:22:19That's our first 12 outs and we've had on this show.
- 1:22:22Yeah. Yeah, I mean, it is really sad,
- 1:22:27like we always do a little toast to Tony whenever that scene
- 1:22:30comes up because you got to you got to toast to Tony.
- 1:22:33I agree. This is definitely one of the
- 1:22:34stronger ones in the entire series.
- 1:22:37It's it's nice that the series isn't losing steam this far into
- 1:22:41it, you know? Yeah, a lot of franchises.
- 1:22:43The 6th 1 can be where it starts to get a little shaky.
- 1:22:47Yeah, but this one, it it just. Actually, you know, I feel like
- 1:22:51a lot of franchise, the 6th is kind of good.
- 1:22:53Halloween 6. Friday the 13th.
- 1:22:55Part 6th. Scream 6.
- 1:22:59Halloween 6 is like your personal hot take.
- 1:23:04There's so many people who have 6, There's so many.
- 1:23:07There's two versions of 6, but really, do you have the
- 1:23:10producers cut? Do you have the theatrical cut?
- 1:23:12How are both? They're both great.
- 1:23:14I it's like double the love right then.
- 1:23:18I just don't feel like you can put Halloween 6 and found all
- 1:23:21this nation bloodlines and screen 6.
- 1:23:23Like you can't put them all in the same Oh.
- 1:23:24I'm not saying they're evil. I'm just saying like six, a lot
- 1:23:30of franchises still kind of get it right sometimes.
- 1:23:32You know, you would think by 6 that it would kind of wear out
- 1:23:35its welcome, but no all. Right.
- 1:23:39All right, so I guess that does it for this one.
- 1:23:42Be on the lookout on our social media to find out what movie
- 1:23:45we're doing first for. Prom.
- 1:23:47Oh yeah, it's prom month. Next month, yeah, it's going to
