Transcript
- 0:06Speaker 1: Investigation into the death of sixteen year old Jeannette di
- 0:10Speaker 1: Palma is focusing on elements of black witchcraft and Satan worship.
- 0:14Speaker 1: A review of death scene photos, according to reports, is
- 0:17Speaker 1: leading authorities to believe the girl's death may have been
- 0:20Speaker 1: in the nature of a sacrifice. Pieces of wood, at
- 0:24Speaker 1: first thought to be at the scene by chance, are
- 0:26Speaker 1: now seen as symbols. One researcher said two pieces of
- 0:31Speaker 1: wood were crossed on the ground over her head. More
- 0:34Speaker 1: wood framed the body like a coffin. Another person who
- 0:39Speaker 1: was there said, I guess if we were looking for signs,
- 0:43Speaker 1: they were there.
- 0:45Speaker 2: My name's Ben and I'm Nicole, and you're listening to
- 0:49Speaker 2: Wicked and Grim.
- 0:50Speaker 1: A true crime podcast. Warning the following podcasts and material
- 0:59Speaker 1: intended more mature audience listeners. It's the final Countdom.
- 1:25Speaker 2: You're dude.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Did you like how I added the can opening into it?
- 1:29Speaker 2: It was it was good.
- 1:30Speaker 1: Instead of like a little guitar solo, it was like
- 1:32Speaker 1: a beer solo.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Yeah, this is Ben's final week, and apparently we will
- 1:38Speaker 2: be fist pumping every day.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Fist bumping bumping. I mean, I'll fist pump, trust me,
- 1:44Speaker 1: and you're just like, yes, and you fist pump.
- 1:46Speaker 2: You know. Okay, all of the above every day until
- 1:51Speaker 2: get done.
- 1:51Speaker 1: So, final day, final week at work, until I'm officially
- 1:54Speaker 1: full time creating media and stuff. AKA putting a lot
- 1:59Speaker 1: more effort into the podcast.
- 2:01Speaker 2: How freaking exciting, and aka also us spending a ridiculous
- 2:05Speaker 2: amount of time together.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Oh you're gonna love it, don't lie, you want it
- 2:09Speaker 1: to happen.
- 2:10Speaker 2: I cannot even eat oreos in peace in this house.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Okay. You were eating an oreo and I asked you
- 2:16Speaker 1: a question and you were just like what, It's not
- 2:18Speaker 1: my fault.
- 2:19Speaker 2: You asked me, like about a physical activity to mountain
- 2:22Speaker 2: biking or something, And here I'm just trying to enjoy
- 2:24Speaker 2: this oreo, not thinking about you know, And apparently got
- 2:28Speaker 2: was hanging out and I'm just.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Ha, Yeah, you were just munching away. It was glorious.
- 2:32Speaker 2: That's married life right there.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Pretty much. But yeah, living in a tiny home together
- 2:37Speaker 1: pretty much twenty four to seven now, no separation, do jobs.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm nervous.
- 2:42Speaker 1: And and I'm pretty sure we're not alone in the
- 2:46Speaker 1: tiny home.
- 2:47Speaker 2: No, holy shit, this is a new development in it
- 2:50Speaker 2: it is.
- 2:53Speaker 1: We recently had a discussion where we both realized we've
- 2:56Speaker 1: been seeing the same thing happening in front of our
- 3:01Speaker 1: front door, well.
- 3:02Speaker 2: In front of our gate more so, which is like
- 3:04Speaker 2: right by our I guess the fence that leads to
- 3:07Speaker 2: the gate that leads to the front door.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Yeah, so we've been out of the corner of our eye.
- 3:13Speaker 1: We both swear we see people or someone.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Walking by to the gate.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's the same spot right to the gate,
- 3:20Speaker 1: but they never make it to the gate. We have
- 3:22Speaker 1: like a wine barrel there and it's like right by
- 3:24Speaker 1: the wine barrel. And we just had this revelation that
- 3:28Speaker 1: we both are actually seeing this. We're not just individually crazy,
- 3:30Speaker 1: we're crazy together.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Yeah, because I was thinking that, like I was. I
- 3:33Speaker 2: hadn't even said anything to you. I just was like,
- 3:36Speaker 2: so many times I'm working because I work a lot
- 3:38Speaker 2: at this where it's kind of in view, I see it.
- 3:41Speaker 2: It's like out of the corner of my arm, Like, oh,
- 3:43Speaker 2: that's so weird like that, I'm just always seeing something.
- 3:45Speaker 2: And I never brought it up to you. And then
- 3:48Speaker 2: we just on the weekend it came up because we
- 3:51Speaker 2: both saw it, yep. And then we're like, shit, you've
- 3:53Speaker 2: been actually seeing that more than once.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Yep. So I personally I'm a very big skeptic when
- 3:59Speaker 1: it comes to stuff. I love it, don't get me wrong.
- 4:01Speaker 1: I want to fucking dive in. I want to go
- 4:02Speaker 1: ghost hunting out on the front door now. But I'm
- 4:05Speaker 1: a skeptic, so I'm always trying to find the reason,
- 4:08Speaker 1: plausible reasons. First.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Well, yeah, because so you suggest that it's a bird
- 4:12Speaker 2: flying by.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Yeah, because it's like a section where it makes sense
- 4:17Speaker 1: for birds to like fly by.
- 4:18Speaker 2: This time actual really, because I've never actually seen a
- 4:20Speaker 2: bird fly through there.
- 4:22Speaker 1: But it makes sense though if you look at it,
- 4:24Speaker 1: because there's building where we're living in it, and then
- 4:26Speaker 1: there's like another shed on the other side, so there's
- 4:28Speaker 1: like a little driveway in between, and it makes sense
- 4:30Speaker 1: for the birds to fly down the driveway to the
- 4:33Speaker 1: tree line which goes past our gate. Right.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Yes, but the figure that we're seeing is much bigger
- 4:39Speaker 2: than a bird.
- 4:40Speaker 1: But we always see it out of the corner of
- 4:41Speaker 1: our eye. So my theory is it's our imagination putting
- 4:45Speaker 1: more to it.
- 4:47Speaker 2: I don't know. I think it's some sort of spirit
- 4:50Speaker 2: of sorts potentially, and it could. I don't think it's
- 4:53Speaker 2: of harm or anything or doing any harm. It could
- 4:55Speaker 2: literally just be like a deceased love one or something
- 4:58Speaker 2: like who knows see it? No, you're looking out there
- 5:02Speaker 2: right now. I'm like, it's dark. Don't just don't see
- 5:04Speaker 2: it in the dark.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Because we're talking about it. I think we should put
- 5:07Speaker 1: a like a trail cam out there.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Oh that's what I think, or set up your video
- 5:13Speaker 2: camera that has.
- 5:14Speaker 1: The the night vision. Yeah, could the infrared.
- 5:19Speaker 2: But yeah, I don't think this, whatever it is, is
- 5:21Speaker 2: meaning any harm or anything. It could even be like
- 5:24Speaker 2: just keeping an eye on us.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Yet I'm not sold it's a spirit or an entity
- 5:30Speaker 1: like that. I think not a bird. I think it's
- 5:32Speaker 1: something that we're misinterpreting. I think it's a bird or
- 5:35Speaker 1: something like that. That's what I think.
- 5:37Speaker 2: That's a big ass bird.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Could be could be a fucking big ass bird. I
- 5:42Speaker 1: don't know. But yeah, this is gonna be something that
- 5:45Speaker 1: I'm sure we're gonna be talking about for for a
- 5:47Speaker 1: little while to come, as we're gonna well try and
- 5:49Speaker 1: figure this out.
- 5:50Speaker 2: It's a bit while, that's for sure.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Yeah. Anyways, moving on from the potential tiny home haunting,
- 5:57Speaker 1: we got some patrons to think, and we got a
- 5:59Speaker 1: whole whack load.
- 6:00Speaker 2: This week, We've got a big list, this.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Big a big quack load, emphasis on the hua wack quackload. Okay,
- 6:09Speaker 1: so starting with we got Chelsea Day, we have Paige Belvins,
- 6:13Speaker 1: we have Aragon PG Cricket, Summer, Angela Modeset, Ryan Belvins.
- 6:20Speaker 1: I'm wondering if Paige and and Ryan are related in
- 6:23Speaker 1: any any way of shape or form there.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Because he got the same last name potentially.
- 6:28Speaker 1: And then Sarah Lindsay Maria Sherry Kawamoto. I really hope
- 6:33Speaker 1: I said that last name right, Kawamoto.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Oh, that sounds good.
- 6:37Speaker 1: I think sounds good like I pronounced it good. Yeah,
- 6:40Speaker 1: I think it just sounds like a good last name personally.
- 6:43Speaker 1: And then Julie Husk. It's either Husk or Husky. It's
- 6:46Speaker 1: felt like your typical Husky, but like just an e
- 6:49Speaker 1: at the end instead. Okay, so I'm gonna go with Husk.
- 6:52Speaker 1: That's my guests. But yeah, so we have all those
- 6:55Speaker 1: people join up for Patreon this past week.
- 6:58Speaker 2: That's awesome.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Starting next week, trust me, Patreon is going to start
- 7:02Speaker 1: being lit. There's gonna be a lot of stuff coming
- 7:05Speaker 1: on with us. It's gonna be lit. It's gonna be fire.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Yeah, well that will probably be one of the main
- 7:09Speaker 2: social media channels that you'll be focusing on. So is
- 7:12Speaker 2: that social media?
- 7:14Speaker 1: Patreon is a form of social media. Yeah, suppose it's
- 7:16Speaker 1: a subscription based social media.
- 7:21Speaker 2: We're only in the intro here, right, Wow, I feel
- 7:25Speaker 2: like that's gonna be me because I'm I'm drinking my
- 7:27Speaker 2: Sleepy Time tea and I already feel like it's hitting.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Well, I'm sleeping. I'm drinking my Sleepy Time tea too.
- 7:33Speaker 1: It's the beer.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Does that actually make you sleepy? I'm not a beer person,
- 7:38Speaker 2: so I have no idea.
- 7:39Speaker 1: It definitely can. Yeah, it relaxes me. Right, you have
- 7:42Speaker 1: a drink, you just relax.
- 7:43Speaker 2: It's kind of like a glass of wine. It's because
- 7:46Speaker 2: I drink wine, so definitely.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Anyways, this has been a long intro. Should we get
- 7:51Speaker 1: into the case, let's get going, okay. So, as I
- 7:54Speaker 1: kind of eluded already in the uh the prelude intro piece,
- 7:58Speaker 1: this is one that's kind of to some of the
- 8:02Speaker 1: occult if you will, okay, you ready to dive in?
- 8:06Speaker 2: I'm ready, okay.
- 8:08Speaker 1: So this is a story of Jeannette Depoma. So Jeannette
- 8:12Speaker 1: was born in August third, nineteen fifty six. She lived
- 8:16Speaker 1: a relatively good life in an upper middle class family
- 8:18Speaker 1: in her Springfield township, Union County, New Jersey. Her parents
- 8:24Speaker 1: and her siblings were all developed Christians. Along with her,
- 8:27Speaker 1: the whole family had a very strong religious moral type standing. Right.
- 8:31Speaker 1: So the family's home was perched on clear Water Road,
- 8:36Speaker 1: which home the neighborhood that could see the Manhattan City
- 8:39Speaker 1: skyline the horizon.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Nice.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Now, although you had this skyline view off in the distance,
- 8:45Speaker 1: their home was far enough away that they kind of
- 8:47Speaker 1: had that like slower lifestyle and the quiet suburb while
- 8:50Speaker 1: you had that city scape off of the distance.
- 8:53Speaker 2: That's the way to do it, one hundred percent.
- 8:54Speaker 1: You get that like cool view, the like you can
- 8:57Speaker 1: go to the city when you want enjoy the bustling life,
- 9:00Speaker 1: but then you just quiet down in your home life.
- 9:02Speaker 2: But then you get to chill at home.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Yeah, right, like that. It's like the perfect mix exactly.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Although I'm sure you'd still get like the smoggy smell
- 9:09Speaker 1: from cities.
- 9:10Speaker 2: Yeah, and it would still be busy, but less busy.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Oh less busy is the key there for sure. So yeah,
- 9:17Speaker 1: it was just a nice place. It was honestly the
- 9:21Speaker 1: perfect place for a perfect family, if I do say so.
- 9:25Speaker 2: However, nothing's perfect.
- 9:27Speaker 1: The word perfect is a very subjective word, and Jeannette
- 9:31Speaker 1: may not have fit that classification of a perfect person.
- 9:35Speaker 1: And by all rights, she wasn't a Hellian child or anything,
- 9:38Speaker 1: do get me wrong there either. She was just like
- 9:40Speaker 1: a normal sixteen year old girl who was trying to
- 9:42Speaker 1: find her way through life. And she's exploring the world
- 9:45Speaker 1: around her, you know, mischief. As young adults tend to
- 9:48Speaker 1: get themselves into, you know.
- 9:49Speaker 2: You kind of have to.
- 9:51Speaker 1: It's kind of how you learn who you are exactly.
- 9:54Speaker 1: I know myself at sixteen, I was beginning to go
- 9:56Speaker 1: out with friends, attends and parties. It's like harmless fun
- 9:59Speaker 1: at that and there's generally no ill will involved in
- 10:03Speaker 1: whatever your intentions or actions are, generally, and I mean
- 10:08Speaker 1: that was the same with Jeanette. She was just kind
- 10:10Speaker 1: of testing the proverbial waters of the world. Okay, So
- 10:15Speaker 1: this all brings us to Monday afternoon on August seventh,
- 10:20Speaker 1: nineteen seventy two. Jeanette was on her way out to
- 10:23Speaker 1: a friend's house. So she as a young adult who
- 10:26Speaker 1: was brought up with very good morals in a Christian home,
- 10:29Speaker 1: went straight to her mom to inform her where she
- 10:31Speaker 1: would be, telling her, you know what, I'm heading out
- 10:34Speaker 1: to her friends. I'm gonna be taking the train to
- 10:36Speaker 1: get there, and that she'd come back that evening.
- 10:39Speaker 2: That's awesome.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Yeah, keeping those communication lines up, Yeah, I think it's
- 10:43Speaker 1: very important.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Well yeah, and I mean because of that, because she
- 10:46Speaker 2: had those communication lines open, her mom was probably fine
- 10:49Speaker 2: with her going.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. And I know that was a big part
- 10:53Speaker 1: of me growing up. Like I just said, I was
- 10:55Speaker 1: partying a bit at sixteen. Stuff. I had those communication
- 10:58Speaker 1: lines open with my parents. They told me, Hey, you
- 11:01Speaker 1: know what, if you're out and it's like one am
- 11:03Speaker 1: or something and you need a ride home, no questions,
- 11:06Speaker 1: asks asked, we will pick you up.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Yeah, call instead of trying to figure out a way
- 11:10Speaker 2: home that might not be safe.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Exactly. So that's the same sort of situation she's got
- 11:15Speaker 1: that good relationship, communication lines are open, She's gonna go
- 11:18Speaker 1: have some fun.
- 11:20Speaker 2: And there there you go.
- 11:21Speaker 1: So with that all established, she said goodbye and she
- 11:24Speaker 1: headed out the front door. Jeanette never made it to
- 11:29Speaker 1: the party.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Oh jeez.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Her mom was at home expecting her daughter to walk
- 11:34Speaker 1: in at any moment that evening, but it never happened.
- 11:38Speaker 1: The minutes ticked by, and she watched the front door.
- 11:41Speaker 1: The minutes turned into an hour, and then two and
- 11:44Speaker 1: then three, and then it rolled over into the next morning.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Of course, her mom during that time was growing more
- 11:52Speaker 1: and more worried for her daughter. Time is literally, I'm
- 11:55Speaker 1: sure slowing down with each passing minute, and she eventually
- 11:58Speaker 1: would call the police the next morning and report her
- 12:01Speaker 1: missing to the Springfield Police Department.
- 12:03Speaker 2: That makes my heart just sink, like right there. I mean,
- 12:08Speaker 2: parents are just have enough stress, right and then to
- 12:11Speaker 2: have to deal with that, Like I just think that's
- 12:13Speaker 2: probably just unfathomable. But like that's a reason to just
- 12:15Speaker 2: not have kids.
- 12:16Speaker 1: I can't. I don't think I can comprehend the idea
- 12:20Speaker 1: on how uh stressful that would be in that situation
- 12:23Speaker 1: to just be wondering and waiting.
- 12:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it'd be horrid, like horrible.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Yeah, Yeah, I can't fathom. I really can't.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Yeah, let's just not I guess. Holy man.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Yeah. So, unfortunately, the weight wouldn't end soon. The family
- 12:39Speaker 1: prayed for her safety and her safe return day after day,
- 12:43Speaker 1: but no one had seen from her, and no one
- 12:46Speaker 1: had heard from her. It would be forty three days later, wow,
- 12:50Speaker 1: on September nineteenth, nineteen seventy two, that Jeanette's story would
- 12:54Speaker 1: finally begin to unravel.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Shit, that's a long time.
- 12:59Speaker 1: I mean, in the grand scheme of things, there's a
- 13:01Speaker 1: lot of people who were out there missing.
- 13:03Speaker 2: For you, way longer. Yeah, but decades. I'm still just thinking,
- 13:06Speaker 2: like this, mom, like that, forty three days of just agony,
- 13:09Speaker 2: and then it's probably gonna just get worse here.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Yeah, forty three days of a parent waiting.
- 13:13Speaker 2: It's a true crime podcast. What's next? What's going to
- 13:15Speaker 2: happen here?
- 13:17Speaker 1: Well, this would unravel when the police received a frantic
- 13:20Speaker 1: call from a woman. When they arrived at the scene,
- 13:24Speaker 1: and she told them the frightening story. See, this woman
- 13:27Speaker 1: had her dog out and they were running around in
- 13:29Speaker 1: the wooded area near where she lived, and much like dogs,
- 13:32Speaker 1: do you know, it's kind of gallivanting around. So a
- 13:35Speaker 1: short time later, the dog would return, wagging its tail
- 13:38Speaker 1: and playing with a big stick or so it may
- 13:41Speaker 1: have looked like a big stick at first. Clar Oh gosh,
- 13:43Speaker 1: So she went out to take a closer look at
- 13:45Speaker 1: the dog. When it had brought back, and she got closer,
- 13:48Speaker 1: her stomach dropped. Oh man, it wasn't a stick, so
- 13:53Speaker 1: she thought, well, it looks like a bone. Well it
- 13:55Speaker 1: was a bone. She was looking at a human arm
- 14:01Speaker 1: wrotted away with fleshy bits mostly bones sticking out brutal.
- 14:06Speaker 2: Okay, so you kind of could see art. I was like,
- 14:10Speaker 2: in the woods right there, because our dogs have done this, right, Yeah,
- 14:13Speaker 2: but lots of times they're bringing back like an elk
- 14:17Speaker 2: bone or like a moose bone or something from the woods.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, we have wolves and bears, hunters and coyotes,
- 14:23Speaker 1: you name it. It's not abnormal to find animal bones
- 14:27Speaker 1: scattered through the woods around here.
- 14:29Speaker 2: No, so this has happened. Legitimately happened. So I was like, oh, like,
- 14:33Speaker 2: I would you even be able to tell? But I mean,
- 14:35Speaker 2: I guess it hasn't been that long. I would still
- 14:37Speaker 2: kind of have like a human arm formsh.
- 14:40Speaker 1: Well, let me describe this a little bit more to you,
- 14:43Speaker 1: and let's actually use Officer Schwartz description.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Okay.
- 14:47Speaker 1: They were actually one of the offers who arrived on
- 14:49Speaker 1: the scene right after the call occurred, so they said
- 14:53Speaker 1: in the report quote, she took me to the rear
- 14:56Speaker 1: door of her apartment, and in a bluish bag, she
- 14:59Speaker 1: handed me the arm of a female. The lower left
- 15:02Speaker 1: arm on the fingernails was a white nail polish. Wow,
- 15:07Speaker 1: clearly identifiable as a human arm. I'm assuming from the
- 15:11Speaker 1: description from the elbow down, hands, fingers, you name it, okay?
- 15:16Speaker 2: Can I actually actually just mention here that I'm I
- 15:19Speaker 2: don't know why, but I was like surprised that she
- 15:22Speaker 2: took it home with her. I feel like I would
- 15:24Speaker 2: just well, it was leave it there.
- 15:27Speaker 1: It was like kind of the front lawn where the
- 15:29Speaker 1: dog brought it back, so it was like run off
- 15:31Speaker 1: in the wooded area by there, like right by her
- 15:33Speaker 1: house the dog came home.
- 15:35Speaker 2: So I mean I would I would leave it there,
- 15:37Speaker 2: and I would notify someone just to clarify. But I'm like,
- 15:40Speaker 2: I don't think i'd be bringing that into my house
- 15:42Speaker 2: fair enough.
- 15:43Speaker 1: And I mean this is the seventies, so it's a
- 15:45Speaker 1: little little bit of a different era, but all in
- 15:48Speaker 1: the same. Yeah, I don't know if i'd be like
- 15:50Speaker 1: holding onto the thing either. Yeah, So who knows. From
- 15:55Speaker 1: there though, search party was sent out and they scoured
- 15:57Speaker 1: the forest area known as hugh Dale quarry, and this
- 16:02Speaker 1: is where the dog was gallivanting before it returned with
- 16:05Speaker 1: the detached human limb. Okay, so the area is approximately
- 16:08Speaker 1: one hundred and twenty acres and is nicknamed the Devil's Teeth.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Wow, that's quite a nickname it is.
- 16:16Speaker 1: And I couldn't find exactly why it has this nickname.
- 16:19Speaker 1: And I don't know if it's still nicknamed this to
- 16:21Speaker 1: this day, but back then it did have this nickname.
- 16:25Speaker 1: But anyways, I do know it's kind of like a
- 16:26Speaker 1: steeper rocky area, So I presume it's name such from
- 16:30Speaker 1: the sharp nature of the rocks and the hazardous trails
- 16:33Speaker 1: surrounding it. That makes sense, That's my assumption. Like, like
- 16:36Speaker 1: you said, it makes sense. That's kind of why I
- 16:38Speaker 1: went there. I'm like, well, I mean, what else is
- 16:39Speaker 1: there Unless there's literally a fucking demon about to eat
- 16:42Speaker 1: someone there? I got nothing else. So anyways, it wasn't
- 16:46Speaker 1: long before the search parties actually stumbled across their first.
- 16:49Speaker 2: Discovery, their first their first okay.
- 16:54Speaker 1: Their first discovery was an upper arm bone.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Okay, Okay, I was thinking, like, there's gonna be like
- 17:01Speaker 2: numerous bodies in here, but maybe just yeah.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Fits of after that, they had the rest of their discovery, okay,
- 17:08Speaker 1: And it was a little ways up that they found
- 17:10Speaker 1: the rest of the corpse laying face down, fully clothed,
- 17:14Speaker 1: in a small clearing at the top of a steep hill.
- 17:17Speaker 1: And this is where it gets a little more weird,
- 17:20Speaker 1: a little more I don't know what's the best word,
- 17:22Speaker 1: and I guess a cult, dark satanic, if you will. So,
- 17:27Speaker 1: according to several witnesses at the scene, the skeletal like
- 17:30Speaker 1: remains that were found were surrounded by a series of
- 17:34Speaker 1: strange and possibly quote occult objects. Descriptions vary from person
- 17:39Speaker 1: to person, but there are some very common claims regarding
- 17:42Speaker 1: how the body actually laid when it was discovered. For example, reportedly,
- 17:47Speaker 1: they found her laying inside a coffin shape perimeter of
- 17:51Speaker 1: fallen branches and logs. Then within this coffin shape perimeter
- 17:56Speaker 1: there were several makeshift wooden crosses from branches and sticks.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, hey, Like discovering a body would be
- 18:06Speaker 2: terrifying enough, like just terrifying. I don't know. I just
- 18:09Speaker 2: hope I never have to have that happen. But to
- 18:13Speaker 2: find something where it was like displayed kind of.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Like that or just like this is some Blair witch. Shit.
- 18:18Speaker 2: Yeah, that would just hold that's neck, that would I
- 18:21Speaker 2: would be freaked right out.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Yeah. Now there are other claims as well that tell
- 18:25Speaker 1: stories of pentagrams being found around the scene.
- 18:28Speaker 2: Wow.
- 18:29Speaker 1: And others even go as far as saying that the
- 18:31Speaker 1: remains of mutilated animals were found surrounding the found body.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Holy shit.
- 18:38Speaker 1: So, of course, these stories were only fueled by the
- 18:41Speaker 1: fact that the remains were found in the area nicknamed
- 18:44Speaker 1: the Devil's Teeth.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean that you could some rumors would probably start, right.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, rumors started, let's say that.
- 18:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:54Speaker 1: So the stories specifically, we're fed more and more in
- 18:59Speaker 1: rumors and rooms and which way in that way, and
- 19:02Speaker 1: things mixed up and just grew. Which a lot of
- 19:06Speaker 1: these stories were denied by law enforcement. Now, approximately two
- 19:10Speaker 1: weeks after the discovery, several newspapers, including the Newark Star
- 19:15Speaker 1: Ledger and the New York Daily News, began running stories
- 19:19Speaker 1: and reporting that the victim was a part of a
- 19:21Speaker 1: gruesome occult sacrifice.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Wow. That's brutal.
- 19:27Speaker 1: Yeah. Apparently the sacrifice was one that would have been
- 19:31Speaker 1: performed and carried out by course Satanists or potentially even
- 19:36Speaker 1: a local coveent of witches who is known to operate
- 19:39Speaker 1: in a nearby forest and wildlife reservation area.
- 19:42Speaker 2: Oh gay, this just keeps getting a little bit more
- 19:45Speaker 2: like twisted and a little bit more like creepy.
- 19:48Speaker 1: It does. So they're basically without any evidence, based solely
- 19:54Speaker 1: on rumors and stories. These new papers are pinning this
- 19:58Speaker 1: on Satanists and a cup of witches.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Okay.
- 20:02Speaker 1: So while all the speculation and stories were running rampid,
- 20:06Speaker 1: to say the least, investigators were busy trying to piece
- 20:09Speaker 1: the puzzle together. The remains were taken in for an autopsy,
- 20:13Speaker 1: and due to extreme decay, it took dental records to
- 20:16Speaker 1: confirm that the body was in fact that of Janette
- 20:19Speaker 1: to Palma. The autopsy was also unable to confirm the
- 20:25Speaker 1: cause of death. Her remains in clothing showed no evidence
- 20:29Speaker 1: of bone fractures, bullet wounds, punctures such as stabs. No
- 20:34Speaker 1: drugs or related paraphernalia were found on the scene or
- 20:38Speaker 1: on the victim, and from my research, it seems like
- 20:41Speaker 1: they were unable to test anything in her system for
- 20:43Speaker 1: drugs due to the decay. However, there was a report
- 20:46Speaker 1: that there was a high concentration of lead in her.
- 20:49Speaker 2: System, yeah, because I'm kind of thinking that she potentially
- 20:52Speaker 2: consumed something.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Yeah, but there is no evidence of that other than
- 20:55Speaker 1: the potential lead, which is kind of a rabbit hole
- 20:59Speaker 1: that goes cold real fast. And then for undisclosed reasons,
- 21:04Speaker 1: though the coroner apparently quote suspected that strangulation was the
- 21:09Speaker 1: cause of death. Okay, and again that's undisclosed. So I'm
- 21:14Speaker 1: not too sure why they suspected that.
- 21:16Speaker 2: It could even have been like a I don't know
- 21:18Speaker 2: why it went there, like a hanging or something potentially
- 21:21Speaker 2: right a hanging, I don't know, they hang the body
- 21:24Speaker 2: and then place it.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Could I guess, but they wouldn't. It wouldn't have been
- 21:30Speaker 1: the hang site because this is at the top of
- 21:32Speaker 1: a hill.
- 21:32Speaker 2: Remember, Yeah, that's true.
- 21:34Speaker 1: So unless there's a single tall tree above where she
- 21:37Speaker 1: specifically was, where she could hang from, but it doesn't
- 21:40Speaker 1: seem that to be the case.
- 21:42Speaker 2: I'm so curious too. I hope that there's more information,
- 21:45Speaker 2: Like I'm so curious if she was a part of
- 21:48Speaker 2: this group or if she if they literally just kind
- 21:51Speaker 2: of like either targeted her or kind of just like
- 21:53Speaker 2: picked her up.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Like well, we'll kind of touch on some of that
- 21:58Speaker 1: a little bit, yeah good. So, with little to go
- 22:00Speaker 1: on and rumors spreading more and more each day, investigators
- 22:04Speaker 1: had their hands absolutely full. But they and civilians in
- 22:09Speaker 1: the area were likely already on edge because there was
- 22:12Speaker 1: another murder that had occurred, actually ten months prior the
- 22:17Speaker 1: John List murders had apparently taken place, which was a
- 22:20Speaker 1: mass murder. This guy slaughtered his family in New Jersey.
- 22:24Speaker 1: So everyone was kind of dealing with this already, hmm.
- 22:27Speaker 1: And now they have a new woman who has been
- 22:29Speaker 1: murdered in another killer at large, which could have just
- 22:32Speaker 1: fed into the stories running rampant again exactly. So now
- 22:36Speaker 1: it is important to note that early in the investigation,
- 22:39Speaker 1: the Springfield Police did receive a tip regarding a homeless
- 22:42Speaker 1: man who was living in the woods near the corey
- 22:44Speaker 1: where Jeanette's body was found. The man was known to
- 22:47Speaker 1: locals simply as Red. Shortly after she had gone missing,
- 22:52Speaker 1: Red had also seemed to disappear from the area. Now,
- 22:56Speaker 1: the prosecutor's office did investigate this lead, but ultimately, for
- 23:00Speaker 1: or unclarified reasons, they decided that Red had absolutely nothing
- 23:04Speaker 1: to do with Jeanette's dead and they kind of dropped
- 23:05Speaker 1: that trail, and they continued on with their investigation elsewhere.
- 23:09Speaker 1: So they did all they could do and continue to
- 23:12Speaker 1: attempt to find leads, but there was simply not much
- 23:15Speaker 1: to go on, not to mention that anytime the story
- 23:18Speaker 1: was told it was so hard to separate fact from
- 23:21Speaker 1: fiction at this point that everything had just gone run wild.
- 23:27Speaker 1: They couldn't do much, everything was too muddled, and eventually
- 23:31Speaker 1: the case just went quite cold. Hey wow, yeah, now,
- 23:36Speaker 1: unfortunately this is an unsolved case.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, of course it is, of course it is. Sorry, Yeah,
- 23:44Speaker 2: that's just your mL there.
- 23:46Speaker 1: Jeanette's killer has never been found, and I'm sorry. I'm sorry,
- 23:50Speaker 1: I really am.
- 23:51Speaker 2: I know people get pissed at me because I do
- 23:54Speaker 2: two parters sometimes, what about you? You never get any
- 23:57Speaker 2: nasty emails about or okay, mine aren't really that, it's
- 24:00Speaker 2: just people kind of bugging me. But you never get
- 24:02Speaker 2: any about like why a I was doing unsolved ones. Maybe
- 24:05Speaker 2: people like unsolved cases. I don't know.
- 24:07Speaker 1: Either that or I'm about to receive an onslaught of
- 24:10Speaker 1: fucking emails now, thanks, wow, appreciate that one.
- 24:15Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I mean I'll give you something to do
- 24:16Speaker 2: next week.
- 24:17Speaker 1: Yeah, so yeah, that's the end. No, I'm just kidding.
- 24:20Speaker 1: That's not the end. There is follow up though, so
- 24:23Speaker 1: that is a plus. Just because it's unsolved doesn't mean
- 24:26Speaker 1: we don't have more information. Okay, so this isn't the
- 24:28Speaker 1: end just yet. Now, during the spring of twenty twenty one.
- 24:33Speaker 2: Oh, okay, you keep having these these older cases that
- 24:37Speaker 2: all of a sudden, we're just like recently in the news.
- 24:39Speaker 2: Didn't happen recently?
- 24:40Speaker 1: Yeah, the last one I did.
- 24:41Speaker 2: Okay, I'm like, I didn't just make that up. No.
- 24:44Speaker 1: A convicted New Jersey serial killer, Richard Cottingham, made a
- 24:48Speaker 1: series of written statements to a journalist by the name
- 24:51Speaker 1: of JESSEP. Potlack Now. He basically alluded to the fact
- 24:55Speaker 1: that he could have possibly been the one to abduct
- 24:59Speaker 1: and killed Jeanette while she while she was hitchhiking.
- 25:03Speaker 2: Oh, she I thought she was taking the train.
- 25:05Speaker 1: I mean that is what she told her mom. It
- 25:07Speaker 1: could have been false information. She could have been saying
- 25:09Speaker 1: one thing and doing something else right, or this.
- 25:12Speaker 2: Going somewhere else completely or something.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Or this could not be the guy too write so
- 25:17Speaker 1: hard to say. Now this brings us to weird end.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Jay Now Wikipedia an excerpt from Wikipedia says this about
- 25:26Speaker 1: Weird NJ. Weird Enjay is a semi annual magazine that
- 25:30Speaker 1: chronicles local legends, purported hauntings, ghost stories, folklore, unusual places
- 25:34Speaker 1: or events, and other peculiarly peculiarities. I can't say that word.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Try and say that five times.
- 25:41Speaker 2: That's hard.
- 25:41Speaker 1: Peculiarities. There you go in New Jersey. I still think
- 25:45Speaker 1: I butchered it. But anyways, peculiar things that occurred in
- 25:48Speaker 1: New Jersey. How's that? So? The journalist Jesse P. Poddock
- 25:53Speaker 1: that had these written notes from this guy who claims
- 25:56Speaker 1: to potentially have been involved, is a correspondent of Weird Jay,
- 26:02Speaker 1: and he's also co authored a book with a man
- 26:05Speaker 1: by the name of Mark Morin now, the book being
- 26:08Speaker 1: titled Death on the Devil's Teeth. While I do need
- 26:12Speaker 1: to preface this by saying I have yet to find
- 26:15Speaker 1: time to read the book, I most certainly will be. However,
- 26:19Speaker 1: the following information is taken directly from Weird NJ's website,
- 26:23Speaker 1: where they're discussing the book in particular. Okay, so they
- 26:27Speaker 1: managed to obtain copies of Jeanette's case files from Union
- 26:30Speaker 1: County Prosecutor's Office under the new Jersey Open Public Record
- 26:34Speaker 1: Act and the Freedom of Information Act. So for years
- 26:39Speaker 1: the office has reported that the files from the case,
- 26:41Speaker 1: including crime scene photos, have been quote missing. However, the
- 26:47Speaker 1: majority of the files were actually released on February twenty
- 26:51Speaker 1: twenty one to these individuals who are doing this research,
- 26:55Speaker 1: and they all seem to be well, rather intact and
- 26:57Speaker 1: present and not missing.
- 27:00Speaker 2: Okay, that's really weird.
- 27:02Speaker 1: So that aside, now there are reports of like the
- 27:05Speaker 1: office of being flooded and they're saying some of the
- 27:07Speaker 1: files got destroyed and that's kind of why it's missing
- 27:09Speaker 1: and stuff. Who knows. Regardless, this helps massively. We have
- 27:14Speaker 1: documents being praised with information.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Oh shit.
- 27:17Speaker 1: So until these files were released, there were so many
- 27:20Speaker 1: questions surrounding the Satanic sacrifices and such. What's real, what's not,
- 27:25Speaker 1: what's fact, what's fiction, what's been made up? What's a story?
- 27:28Speaker 1: But the images in this file alone, the crime scene
- 27:31Speaker 1: photos alone, debunk pretty much all of it.
- 27:34Speaker 2: Really, yes, Okay, I wasn't expecting that at all.
- 27:37Speaker 1: So in these photos, Jeannette's body is respectably blacked out
- 27:41Speaker 1: from the from the crime scene photos. However, you do
- 27:43Speaker 1: see the entire crime scene around her.
- 27:44Speaker 2: Okay, that's good though, that yeah.
- 27:46Speaker 1: Yeah, so like you know when you see like the
- 27:48Speaker 1: out the chalk outline of yeah, it's like that chalk outline.
- 27:50Speaker 1: Anything within it is black, everything out is still visible.
- 27:55Speaker 1: So with these photos you can plainly see everything around it,
- 27:59Speaker 1: the coffee like log frame around her, for example, the
- 28:01Speaker 1: makeshift stick crosses, the mutilated animals, remains, all of it
- 28:06Speaker 1: are not.
- 28:07Speaker 2: There, seriously, correct, Holy shit, all of that shit's just
- 28:12Speaker 2: made up.
- 28:13Speaker 1: Well, she is laying amongst tall grass with random strewn
- 28:16Speaker 1: sticks and logs that are clearly organically present and not
- 28:21Speaker 1: in coffin like shapes, and there might be a couple
- 28:24Speaker 1: in there that are just happen to be like cross
- 28:26Speaker 1: like if you look hard enough.
- 28:27Speaker 2: Seriously.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Yeah, there's even a drawn diagram of how she was
- 28:34Speaker 1: found laying on top of different strewn logs and definitely
- 28:38Speaker 1: not a fucking coffin shape.
- 28:40Speaker 2: Okay, so this could just have been like kind of
- 28:43Speaker 2: a random kill or a serial killer or whatever, but
- 28:48Speaker 2: not necessarily like this big occult thing that yeah, people
- 28:52Speaker 2: were kind of.
- 28:52Speaker 1: Pretty much nothing points to anything a cult, anything, black magic,
- 28:58Speaker 1: anything weird sacrificial satanic. Nothing that's really.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Fucked up though, because as you do, like that just
- 29:04Speaker 2: makes it's not helpful. I mean the police, I'm sure,
- 29:09Speaker 2: I guess just knew those were all rumors and stuff
- 29:11Speaker 2: the investigators, but it's not helpful for like solving this.
- 29:15Speaker 1: But the problem is the police, Yeah, they knew what
- 29:18Speaker 1: they were looking for at the time. They're like, Okay,
- 29:21Speaker 1: there's not any dead animals stream about the scene, and
- 29:24Speaker 1: I don't know who blood waterfall coming from a moon, Like,
- 29:27Speaker 1: there's none of this crazy shit that people are claiming. However,
- 29:30Speaker 1: that's not helping the public come forward with information. Yeah, exactly,
- 29:34Speaker 1: it's only misstrewing. It's placing thoughts in people's heads where
- 29:38Speaker 1: it's like, oh, well, clearly we're looking for a fucking witch.
- 29:41Speaker 1: We're not looking for, you know, a man driving around
- 29:46Speaker 1: in a weird looking van.
- 29:48Speaker 2: And not to say that it was this homeless man,
- 29:50Speaker 2: because I feel like it wasn't, but like because when
- 29:54Speaker 2: you mention him, I was like, Okay, well, like, there's
- 29:56Speaker 2: no way that it could be this person, because like
- 29:58Speaker 2: I'm envisioning like a group doing this exactly right. So
- 30:01Speaker 2: I was like, no, that couldn't be him. But it
- 30:03Speaker 2: could be. Then this was just kind of you.
- 30:06Speaker 1: Know, like, well, exactly, we're now on this path of
- 30:10Speaker 1: perceiving who fits the crime scene the motive, when all
- 30:15Speaker 1: that crime scene, the motive, the facts are all false.
- 30:18Speaker 1: So we're cutting out an entire portion of people that
- 30:22Speaker 1: could have been responsible. We're basically putting blinders on the
- 30:25Speaker 1: public's eyes by having all these false stories out there.
- 30:27Speaker 2: Yeah, that's fucked up, isn't it. It really is. I
- 30:32Speaker 2: was literally expecting you to be like, yeah, like all
- 30:35Speaker 2: of that was like that that these photos were going
- 30:38Speaker 2: to show a show that it legitimately was set up
- 30:41Speaker 2: like that.
- 30:41Speaker 1: No, not at all. Now, another important piece that was
- 30:46Speaker 1: come to surface with these files was the tall grass
- 30:49Speaker 1: actually and overgrowth itself so weird. NJ reported that for
- 30:54Speaker 1: years they were told by retired Springfield PD investigators that
- 30:58Speaker 1: where Jeanette's body was found was a very well known
- 31:01Speaker 1: quote party spot, so pips where people will go out
- 31:06Speaker 1: party all night more often than not. Of course kids,
- 31:10Speaker 1: because people of under age find solace in bush parties.
- 31:13Speaker 1: They go away from cops, away from public we pority,
- 31:16Speaker 1: so they can do drugs, party and not get bothered. Right,
- 31:21Speaker 1: So these retired investigators say she was likely overdose there
- 31:25Speaker 1: while partying, and then probably what happened is other individuals
- 31:29Speaker 1: she was partying with didn't know what to do. They're underage,
- 31:33Speaker 1: she's underage, panic fucked off, and she's left there.
- 31:37Speaker 2: Dang, but you think that that would kind of show
- 31:41Speaker 2: shown on the autopsy.
- 31:43Speaker 1: No, well it didn't show in the autopsy. No drugs
- 31:46Speaker 1: or anything could be found on her system. Like I said,
- 31:48Speaker 1: too late, might not have been able to be found. However,
- 31:50Speaker 1: the photos alone disprove this, okay, because the photos show
- 31:56Speaker 1: no sign of a party, no debris, no litter, no
- 32:00Speaker 1: hands for example, and most notably, all the tall grass
- 32:03Speaker 1: and undergrowth are around her are not trampled down. There's
- 32:06Speaker 1: no signs of a bunch of people being in and
- 32:09Speaker 1: around there.
- 32:10Speaker 2: But it would have been forty three or so days later.
- 32:13Speaker 2: Would all that would there still show a lot of sign.
- 32:16Speaker 1: Put it this way, if you put a tent down
- 32:18Speaker 1: for a night, it's probably going to still show that
- 32:22Speaker 1: flat spot about a month later.
- 32:24Speaker 2: Yeah. One The thing is, if this was a popular
- 32:27Speaker 2: spot for teenagers to party, like I mean, someone would
- 32:33Speaker 2: have come across her body sooner, sooner, I would.
- 32:35Speaker 1: Think exactly and there's no reports of any items being
- 32:39Speaker 1: found that would pertain to a party. You'd think there'd
- 32:41Speaker 1: be a single cup, a single can, something.
- 32:45Speaker 2: Yeap, nothing smokes or like smoke butts.
- 32:49Speaker 1: Or something, a fire pit. Yeah, there's none of that.
- 32:54Speaker 1: Another finding in these reports were her belongings. The contents
- 32:58Speaker 1: of her purse were found pilot on the ground about
- 33:00Speaker 1: eight feet away from where she was, But a purse,
- 33:03Speaker 1: along with money or a wallet was missing, and so
- 33:07Speaker 1: was the cross necklace that she was wearing around her neck,
- 33:11Speaker 1: which very well could have been taken as a souvenir
- 33:15Speaker 1: by whoever potentially killed her.
- 33:17Speaker 2: Or thought that it was worth money or something. Right, Yeah,
- 33:20Speaker 2: jewelry because it's a jewelry.
- 33:21Speaker 1: Seems like they were after valuables if a wallet is missing. Yeah,
- 33:25Speaker 1: and why is someone going to take the purse? You're
- 33:27Speaker 1: either a sell it for money, B it's going to
- 33:32Speaker 1: be a souvenir or C. I don't know. Something weird.
- 33:37Speaker 1: I can't think of.
- 33:39Speaker 2: I can't think about Marge to carry the shit that
- 33:41Speaker 2: you did steal?
- 33:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess, or maybe yeah, it's just like, oh,
- 33:44Speaker 1: pretty purse, I want it for myself. Maybe that's an
- 33:46Speaker 1: mL for it to be a female.
- 33:49Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I don't know. My brain for some reason
- 33:54Speaker 2: went to mail, but yeah, who knows, really.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Who knows me think of it? Logically, more likely would
- 34:01Speaker 1: be a female to take the purse, not saying a
- 34:03Speaker 1: male can't, not saying anybody can't, just more likely it would.
- 34:07Speaker 2: Be a female, Yeah, because if the purse had any
- 34:10Speaker 2: value whatsoever, the male might not necessarily know.
- 34:13Speaker 1: Yeap. So so yeah, there's not much else known about
- 34:17Speaker 1: this case, and I'm assuming that there is going to
- 34:19Speaker 1: be some more information within this book, which I definitely
- 34:23Speaker 1: want to read, and I do recommend you guys go
- 34:24Speaker 1: read because it's very new information. These guys finally got
- 34:28Speaker 1: the records and the reports and went through it with
- 34:31Speaker 1: a fine tooth comb, by the sounds of it. So yeah,
- 34:35Speaker 1: and it.
- 34:36Speaker 2: Just came out, sorry, in twenty twenty one, this book.
- 34:39Speaker 1: They got the reports in twenty twenty one. I think
- 34:41Speaker 1: the book came out last year in twenty twenty two.
- 34:43Speaker 2: Oh wow, okay, yeah.
- 34:45Speaker 1: Yeah, So I really hope that the fact that they
- 34:47Speaker 1: actually have the recent release of these case files things
- 34:52Speaker 1: surrounding your investigation. I hope something like sparks up some
- 34:55Speaker 1: information is able to come forward. I really hope that
- 34:58Speaker 1: Schenet's able to rest easy her killer being held accountable
- 35:01Speaker 1: for what they've done. But until that potentially happens, it's
- 35:06Speaker 1: currently an unsolved case.
- 35:08Speaker 2: Wow, and so she was sixteen? Hey, only correct? Gosh,
- 35:12Speaker 2: that's way too young. Yeah, huh, that is okay. You
- 35:16Speaker 2: know what, I'm not satisfied with this That is not
- 35:19Speaker 2: enough information for me.
- 35:21Speaker 1: It's not And I tell you what, I'm not satisfied
- 35:24Speaker 1: with this case either. I'm never satisfied with any case. Well.
- 35:27Speaker 2: No, Okay, that might have been a poor choice of words.
- 35:29Speaker 2: I meant the information that was.
- 35:31Speaker 1: No, I know, I know what you mean. And the
- 35:34Speaker 1: reason why I do think I'm kind of quote satisfied
- 35:39Speaker 1: in a way with this story is the fact that
- 35:42Speaker 1: there are people out there who are still searching, people
- 35:46Speaker 1: who have no relation to the individuals involved, but they're
- 35:52Speaker 1: just wanting to find the answers, and they're willing to dig.
- 35:55Speaker 1: They're willing to get the proper information, they're willing to report,
- 35:58Speaker 1: they're willing to tell the stories so that people like
- 36:00Speaker 1: Jeanette can have hope one day of still having their
- 36:05Speaker 1: story found out. What happened.
- 36:08Speaker 2: Yeah, even like you know she's no longer here, but
- 36:10Speaker 2: still the closure and everything.
- 36:12Speaker 1: Exactly the closure. That's the word closure. Closure. Can we
- 36:16Speaker 1: say that closure, that's the word of the day. Closure.
- 36:20Speaker 2: Yeah, everyone needs some good closure once in a while. Yeah,
- 36:23Speaker 2: that's that word. Sounds fucking weird now the more you
- 36:25Speaker 2: say it closure.
- 36:26Speaker 1: I want to a word that sounds really weird if
- 36:27Speaker 1: you say it too many times.
- 36:29Speaker 2: Doile, Doiley, Yeah, that's dole, that's for sure, Doiley. Yeah.
- 36:34Speaker 2: There's a lot of weird or words that you if
- 36:36Speaker 2: you write or you like, are staring at it too long,
- 36:38Speaker 2: they just start looking so weird.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Yeah. What But another thing I did want to touch
- 36:43Speaker 1: the really quick, excuse me before we end this is
- 36:46Speaker 1: the fact on all the rumors running rampant and just
- 36:50Speaker 1: polluting the investigation.
- 36:53Speaker 2: I wonder it's not cool.
- 36:54Speaker 1: I wonder if something could have been found out if
- 36:57Speaker 1: that didn't occur.
- 37:00Speaker 2: I don't well yeah, I mean honestly, I was gonna say,
- 37:03Speaker 2: like the investigators knew what was what, But then a
- 37:08Speaker 2: lot of times just you're like, I don't know what's
- 37:12Speaker 2: the word bystanders or just like people off in the
- 37:16Speaker 2: wherever they bystanders. Bystanders, they like they know things, right,
- 37:21Speaker 2: and they report things, and they they recall things that
- 37:24Speaker 2: they've seen that maybe they didn't think was a big deal,
- 37:27Speaker 2: but it was actually like a very big deal. So yeah,
- 37:31Speaker 2: I one hundred percent thing that could have fucked up
- 37:32Speaker 2: the case. Well, just for the fuck was making up
- 37:36Speaker 2: these rumors?
- 37:37Speaker 1: Seemed like everyone the New York freaking news was doing it. Yes,
- 37:43Speaker 1: but let me take it on this this way for
- 37:45Speaker 1: a second. Here, let's play Devil's advocate and say that
- 37:49Speaker 1: because the purse was taken, it is a woman, a
- 37:52Speaker 1: singular woman. Okay, let's just say that for sake of
- 37:56Speaker 1: this argument, the public thinks it's a bunch of witches,
- 38:02Speaker 1: a satanic group, people who are think dark clothing, Gothic,
- 38:08Speaker 1: all this sort of stuff. If the public knew that
- 38:13Speaker 1: the purse was missing and there's no satanic stuff involved,
- 38:19Speaker 1: someone might have seen a woman walking around with her
- 38:22Speaker 1: fucking purse and reported it.
- 38:24Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I think or just yeah, like I said,
- 38:28Speaker 2: recalled something from that night that made sense. Yep, that
- 38:34Speaker 2: it could be related, and that because of all these
- 38:37Speaker 2: rumors are like no way, like no way, there's no
- 38:40Speaker 2: way that that could have been a part of this
- 38:43Speaker 2: occult exactly.
- 38:45Speaker 1: Who knows. Maybe even a pawn chop downtown would have
- 38:48Speaker 1: been sold her purse, but it didn't even come to
- 38:51Speaker 1: light that the purse was missing for how many years?
- 38:53Speaker 2: Oh my gosh. Okay, Yeah, that's all like a little
- 38:58Speaker 2: bit disturbing.
- 38:58Speaker 1: Actually, the pollution involved with this case, due to media
- 39:04Speaker 1: sensationalizing it and the public gossiping, could have ruined this case.
- 39:11Speaker 2: We've done a few cases like that. Yeah, I mean,
- 39:14Speaker 2: the media sometimes can work in good ways, but I
- 39:18Speaker 2: would have to probably say the majority of times it doesn't,
- 39:22Speaker 2: maybe not majority. There is sometimes where it does not
- 39:25Speaker 2: help whatsoever.
- 39:27Speaker 1: I will say this, the internet is a fantastic tool.
- 39:30Speaker 1: The Internet generally finds the right way. There's the trust
- 39:36Speaker 1: me as bad shit on the internet. But if you
- 39:38Speaker 1: are looking at a cold case, lots of times people
- 39:41Speaker 1: will be looking into it and finding out who did it.
- 39:44Speaker 1: I can always fuck up her name. The girl who
- 39:48Speaker 1: potentially murdered her daughter just had the documentary What was
- 39:51Speaker 1: her name? Again? You know who I'm talking about though?
- 39:54Speaker 2: Right now?
- 39:55Speaker 1: We talked about her on YouTube. We did a whole
- 39:57Speaker 1: oh shit freaking podcast on her. The he follow up
- 40:02Speaker 1: right Anyways, I'm pretty sure you guys know who're talking
- 40:04Speaker 1: about someone like that? The Internet. She's been proven quote proven,
- 40:12Speaker 1: not guilty, but the Internet's like, hold on, no, something's
- 40:15Speaker 1: not right here, And the Internet still hammering down hard
- 40:17Speaker 1: because they're looking, because they they're not something's not right.
- 40:21Speaker 1: You know.
- 40:21Speaker 2: I can agree with that. When I was saying media,
- 40:23Speaker 2: I was more so thinking like tabloids and stuff.
- 40:26Speaker 1: That's kind of where I was getting. The Internet is
- 40:29Speaker 1: a fantastic one because it generally, like like water, it'll
- 40:32Speaker 1: find the right path to get where it needs to eventually.
- 40:36Speaker 1: But media and tabloids, which can be on the Internet too,
- 40:40Speaker 1: will sensationalize for the sake of views, you know.
- 40:45Speaker 2: Yeah, And at that point in time, like it didn't
- 40:47Speaker 2: need to be.
- 40:49Speaker 1: What did you call it, sensationalized.
- 40:51Speaker 2: Sensationalize, It just needed to be helped in solving this
- 40:54Speaker 2: murder exactly, so brutal.
- 40:57Speaker 1: Yeah, so that was an interesting one, no kidding.
- 41:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I've never heard like, gosh, all of the ones
- 41:02Speaker 2: lately been doing like I've never heard of laies.
- 41:05Speaker 1: I'm liking to go down these little rabbit holes. Yeah,
- 41:07Speaker 1: I'm enjoying it, but I am sorry it's an unsolved case.
- 41:11Speaker 1: I've been talking about one that's going to be a
- 41:13Speaker 1: little more murdery and solved here coming up, and it
- 41:15Speaker 1: is coming up. I've just uh, I don't know, it's
- 41:18Speaker 1: an intimidating and it's intimidating me for some reason.
- 41:21Speaker 2: Well, you got to just do it.
- 41:22Speaker 1: Then, I'm really needing wanting to put the extra time
- 41:25Speaker 1: into this one, so it'll happen here quick there you go.
- 41:28Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, but still this this, I mean, these are
- 41:30Speaker 2: still good like good cases to hear and stuff, so
- 41:33Speaker 2: oh for.
- 41:33Speaker 1: Sure, don't get me wrong. But if you guys want
- 41:36Speaker 1: to see or hear a little bit more, you can
- 41:38Speaker 1: check out our social media Facebook, Instagram, we got our website,
- 41:41Speaker 1: we got her YouTube, we got Patreon. Can go over

- 41:50Speaker 1: just want to listen here, cool beans, We're down with that. Yeah,
- 41:53Speaker 1: I appreciate you just the same.
- 41:54Speaker 2: Yeah, we totally do, so should we. Uh, let's let's
- 41:58Speaker 2: do the little game here.
- 41:59Speaker 1: Okay, okay, well it's this little game.
- 42:00Speaker 2: So we're gonna say stay wicked at the same time
- 42:03Speaker 2: and see who can hold this stay longer.
- 42:06Speaker 1: Oh, I guarantee you I'm going to win this.
- 42:08Speaker 2: I actually think you will too. But whatever, do you
- 42:10Speaker 2: know why?
- 42:10Speaker 1: I know this because on our trip to Vancouver and
- 42:12Speaker 1: we're holding the breath under the bridge, you're just like
- 42:14Speaker 1: until the bridge and the tunnel or the tunnels or whatever. Yeah.
- 42:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know if people play that game, but
- 42:18Speaker 2: when you go through a tunnel, you hold your breath.
- 42:20Speaker 2: I have no idea why, but.
- 42:21Speaker 1: I don't know. Childhood games come back to haunt us.
- 42:24Speaker 2: Okay, so until next week three two one, Stay.
- 42:41Speaker 1: Wicked?
- 42:42Speaker 2: Get that just gone bad? Our voices were just too squeaky.
- 42:46Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll do it right right now. How's that Stay Wicked,
