Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: A pax pod with a review of Game Week twenty
- 0:03Speaker 1: five and a look ahead to Double Game Week twenty six.
- 0:05Speaker 1: We review all of the weekend's games, discuss why we're
- 0:08Speaker 1: waiting on Palmer, and I'm sure you can guess which
- 0:10Speaker 1: one of us has Double Game week fever.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Is here.
- 0:17Speaker 1: It's the first double game week of this season, which
- 0:20Speaker 1: means the FPL Pod team are back with you to
- 0:22Speaker 1: look back on Game Week twenty five and look ahead
- 0:25Speaker 1: to Game Week twenty six. Killer year, of course, alongside
- 0:28Speaker 1: Juels and Sam and it is Arsenal and Wolves that
- 0:31Speaker 1: are going to play twice Tuesday night, deadline, six pm.
- 0:34Speaker 1: This is where the fun really begins, Sam, isn't it Yay?
- 0:37Speaker 3: It's the best part of the season, the doubles and
- 0:39Speaker 3: the blanks causing some carnage. I am here for it.
- 0:42Speaker 3: It's the bit of the season where you can really
- 0:44Speaker 3: make up rank against those around you if they're not
- 0:47Speaker 3: concentrating on the deadlines and if they're not fully focused
- 0:49Speaker 3: on players that blank and players that double.
- 0:51Speaker 4: So yeah, it's going to be fun.
- 0:53Speaker 1: I think we're all pretty set up, me, so we're
- 0:55Speaker 1: all trebled up on Arsenal, and I think we spoke
- 0:57Speaker 1: in the last pod. By the way, there was some
- 0:59Speaker 1: relevant in the last part. If you haven't got rounds
- 1:01Speaker 1: listening to that. We did preview a little bit. Probably
- 1:04Speaker 1: not going to go there with Wolf, so we're pretty
- 1:07Speaker 1: set on with Jos.
- 1:08Speaker 5: I think yeah, I think so.
- 1:09Speaker 6: I think three arsome players make a lot of sense.
- 1:12Speaker 6: And then again, you pick whoever you want if you
- 1:15Speaker 6: only have two, for example, and you know if you
- 1:18Speaker 6: have Rice and Gabrielle and go for a third one,
- 1:21Speaker 6: Timber will be safe, Rya will be safe. For example,
- 1:25Speaker 6: we don't know yet when Bucosaka and Martinodeguard will come back,
- 1:28Speaker 6: but they surely would not start for both games. And
- 1:31Speaker 6: like Rice, gabriel or Timber, so you could choose. Torosa
- 1:35Speaker 6: seems to be pretty likely to start both games as well.
- 1:38Speaker 6: But and number nine, we're not sure if it would
- 1:40Speaker 6: be your Keres or Gabrigezus or even Kai Harves.
- 1:44Speaker 5: Same with Aza, probably even same for me. I left back.
- 1:46Speaker 6: I've got Kala Fiuria. I was very happy I started
- 1:49Speaker 6: the weekend. I don't know if you will start both games,
- 1:51Speaker 6: so there's a bit of that, but if you want
- 1:53Speaker 6: to be sure, I think Gabrielle Timber and Rice, you're
- 1:56Speaker 6: pretty safe.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Okay, we'll talk a little bit more about the double
- 1:58Speaker 1: as the pot goes on. I'm sure, as I said then,
- 2:01Speaker 1: I am troubled up on Arsenal. I wasn't. I spoke
- 2:03Speaker 1: about it on the last podcast, and I'm glad I did.
- 2:06Speaker 1: I brought in Timber, so I have the three that
- 2:08Speaker 1: Jewels just mentioned. Then we're very similar to myself and
- 2:11Speaker 1: I'm exactly the same. Jewels a little bit different. But
- 2:14Speaker 1: let's just reflect on everything else we did in the
- 2:16Speaker 1: last game week and how it went. Jewels, another good weekend.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Joel Pedro, who has captain.
- 2:21Speaker 5: Yeah, Pedro's captain. It was the right choice.
- 2:24Speaker 6: It was him or Bruno Fernandez, and they both had
- 2:26Speaker 6: the semimon of pone and it was great until the
- 2:29Speaker 6: eighty fourth minute in the Liverpool man City game when
- 2:32Speaker 6: Earning Allen was blanking and then there's an assist, and
- 2:35Speaker 6: then there's a goal, and then suddenly it doesn't look
- 2:37Speaker 6: like the best of choice to have not captain him.
- 2:40Speaker 5: But I was happy with George Pedro and the rest
- 2:43Speaker 5: was good.
- 2:44Speaker 6: Seventy one points again Georg Pedro, as we said, he
- 2:46Speaker 6: got the two penalties, so that's eight for him had
- 2:49Speaker 6: and returned as we just said, Rogers, who I was
- 2:54Speaker 6: very happy to have.
- 2:55Speaker 5: I would never leave somebody like Rogers on my bench,
- 2:57Speaker 5: you know, I would never be that. I was thinking
- 3:00Speaker 5: to who would do that anyway? You know, Rogers so happy,
- 3:04Speaker 5: I love you so much.
- 3:07Speaker 6: Did exactly and my double ass on defense with and
- 3:10Speaker 6: Gabrielle played off as well.
- 3:11Speaker 4: So I was, yeah, okay, it was me that did that,
- 3:13Speaker 4: but I'm sorry.
- 3:14Speaker 1: When you have a midfield, I don't forget anyone here
- 3:16Speaker 1: of Enzo Bruno, Fernandez, Decklan Rice, Harry Wilson, Morgan Rodgers.
- 3:22Speaker 1: When your team is so well set up, Jewels, sometimes
- 3:24Speaker 1: you have ben headaches. I that you seem well. Morgan's
- 3:31Speaker 1: been frustrating in recent weeks.
- 3:32Speaker 4: I may sew all of his points.
- 3:34Speaker 1: So yes, I benched Morgan Rodgers. Even I looked back
- 3:37Speaker 1: and I sent a text to my friend. At six
- 3:38Speaker 1: twenty eight or whatever the dead it was a six
- 3:41Speaker 1: thirty deadline, wasn't It wasn't at six twenty eight, And
- 3:45Speaker 1: I said to my friend, I don't know should I?
- 3:47Speaker 1: And then he went through my team and was like,
- 3:49Speaker 1: maybe could bench Harry Wilson, but can you with Everson
- 3:51Speaker 1: at home, and then we went through every player. Then
- 3:52Speaker 1: the deadline passed and actually, in hindsight, Hugo Katiko was
- 3:56Speaker 1: the person's bench, but it's the Liverpool player. It's very
- 3:58Speaker 1: hard to bench him. Anyway, I still got sixty.
- 4:01Speaker 4: Three points of Mogren Rodgers on the bench.
- 4:02Speaker 1: In fact, I didn't. I got sixty seven points because
- 4:04Speaker 1: I've got an also self off the bench. So it
- 4:06Speaker 1: could have I mean, it could have been an amazing
- 4:07Speaker 1: game week, but it also could have been far worse. Sam,
- 4:10Speaker 1: just talk about your game week. I don't want to
- 4:11Speaker 1: talk about that anymore.
- 4:14Speaker 3: So another really good one for me. I had seventy
- 4:16Speaker 3: two this week. That's another three hundred k often for
- 4:18Speaker 3: my overall ranks, so we're heading in the right direction. Finally,
- 4:22Speaker 3: it was looking really good. At one point my overall
- 4:24Speaker 3: rank was in the top one million for the first
- 4:26Speaker 3: time in forever, so I was really enjoying that, mostly
- 4:30Speaker 3: because of Dominic cavet Loin on Friday night. In the end,
- 4:33Speaker 3: I spent a lot of time, if you remember, on
- 4:35Speaker 3: the last podcast, boring you both with my transferred dilemmas
- 4:38Speaker 3: and kind of worrying about what I was going to do,
- 4:40Speaker 3: and so in the end I did nothing after all of.
- 4:42Speaker 4: That because I just couldn't bring myself to sell.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Dominic calvaltou In ahead of that game against Nottingham Forest
- 4:47Speaker 3: on Friday evening, so I went without jarl Proedro did
- 4:50Speaker 3: not enjoy that Chelsea game one bit and was kind
- 4:52Speaker 3: of like, oh, this is hurting. But actually in the
- 4:55Speaker 3: end he only got one more point than Dominic Calvert Libin,
- 4:58Speaker 3: so it worked out quite well and it's kept the
- 5:00Speaker 3: free transfer in the bank. Morgan Rodgers was on my
- 5:04Speaker 3: potential hit list last week if I wanted to go
- 5:06Speaker 3: back to Florian Berts, and he still remains on the
- 5:09Speaker 3: potential hit list for this week, which we'll talk about
- 5:11Speaker 3: later why, but yeah, I was pleased to have him
- 5:15Speaker 3: this week. A good set of returns, obviously, timber and
- 5:17Speaker 3: Gabrielle doing well, Rice picking up the Deaf cons was nice. Also,
- 5:21Speaker 3: Bruno was my captain, so that was good. And then
- 5:23Speaker 3: the only player that actually outscored him this week was
- 5:26Speaker 3: Harlan so probably should have captained him. And maybe I
- 5:28Speaker 3: was a little bit lucky there anyway with what happened
- 5:31Speaker 3: right at the end of that game, because really probably
- 5:33Speaker 3: should out a little bit more so.
- 5:35Speaker 4: Yeah, it was a decent week. Another green arrow. Hopefully
- 5:38Speaker 4: the double game we brings another one.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Yes, a small green arrow for myself as well. So yeah,
- 5:42Speaker 1: a good week all round, which is rare that all
- 5:44Speaker 1: three of us are quite happy. Not totally happy though,
- 5:47Speaker 1: Thanks Morgan Rodgers FBL Pop Mini League. Then nothing's changed
- 5:50Speaker 1: at the top. Henry's still at the top. He captain
- 5:52Speaker 1: Gabrielle got sixty points for the game, which actually allowed
- 5:56Speaker 1: Ulotarbi to close the gap. He had Harland as captain.
- 5:59Speaker 1: He also bought it Timber and Rice for Drgo and Socker,
- 6:01Speaker 1: which worked well, gaining him eleven points. He's now just
- 6:04Speaker 1: one point behind Henry. Souki Seely remains four twenty eight
- 6:07Speaker 1: points behind Lawa Tarbi and Matt Marshall is fourth, with
- 6:10Speaker 1: Graham Baker, Jonah Jones and Orange Barajamage climbing into fifth,
- 6:15Speaker 1: sixth and seventh respectively. I love how compestive it's been
- 6:18Speaker 1: at the top of that league this season. The code
- 6:20Speaker 1: again X y six xpl Right, We're going to rush
- 6:23Speaker 1: through everything as much as we can today because we
- 6:25Speaker 1: are here to review everything. As I said as well,
- 6:28Speaker 1: as look head So this is You're off the bench
- 6:29Speaker 1: style round up, starting with the Friday night football LEAs
- 6:32Speaker 1: three Nottingham Forest one. Sam, what were the headlines from
- 6:35Speaker 1: that one? Do you think Ellie Anderson again? So that's
- 6:40Speaker 1: another set of death cons. That's nine matches in a
- 6:42Speaker 1: row now that he's hit deaf Con, which is quite
- 6:44Speaker 1: frankly phenomenal, and his price point, it's just a ridiculous
- 6:47Speaker 1: amount of returns. And then, as I mentioned in my
- 6:50Speaker 1: spiel at the beginning, Dominic Camvet Living, Sam, think if
- 6:54Speaker 1: you're if I should have said this at the beginning
- 6:56Speaker 1: of the podcast, shouldn't I If you are listening to
- 6:58Speaker 1: this and you hear giggles or any weird noises coming
- 7:01Speaker 1: from Jules, is because PSG are playing. We're recording this
- 7:03Speaker 1: on Sunday nights.
- 7:04Speaker 2: Come go.
- 7:05Speaker 1: I'm guessing they've just gone three ing up against last
- 7:07Speaker 1: a correct.
- 7:11Speaker 4: Yees.
- 7:12Speaker 1: So if you're watching on YouTube and you see weird faces,
- 7:14Speaker 1: that's why if you're listening to a podcast, that's also
- 7:16Speaker 1: why we can only apologize but this is the only
- 7:19Speaker 1: time we can record this week and Georles isn't professional
- 7:22Speaker 1: enough to turn it off. Sorry, carry on.
- 7:24Speaker 3: Sam back to Dominic cavert liin so really pleased with
- 7:27Speaker 3: him this week. That's him scoring over one hundred FPR
- 7:30Speaker 3: points now for the season, his seventy six points the
- 7:34Speaker 3: most amongst forward since game week thirteen. That's ahead of
- 7:37Speaker 3: Harlan although I wrote that start ahead of Harlan doing
- 7:39Speaker 3: his getting his eleven points today, so they will now
- 7:43Speaker 3: actually be in reverse of that. However, if you take
- 7:45Speaker 3: it before this game week, Dominic cavert Lein looking really
- 7:48Speaker 3: great value for money right now at just six million.
- 7:51Speaker 3: So yeah, the power of them were the two kind
- 7:54Speaker 3: of stands out for me anyway in this one, Jewels.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Anything you want to add or do, Jimmy to tell
- 7:58Speaker 1: you what Sam just said because you aren't listening.
- 8:00Speaker 6: No, I was listening actually, and I agree with everything
- 8:03Speaker 6: she says as always, but just on that Anderson, I
- 8:06Speaker 6: know he's doing so so well, and I know, as
- 8:09Speaker 6: we've been saying every week, the midfield is so competitive
- 8:13Speaker 6: in who you could get.
- 8:14Speaker 5: There's so many great options.
- 8:16Speaker 6: But this has to be it has to be in
- 8:19Speaker 6: people's mind if you play your world card, if you're
- 8:21Speaker 6: looking for that kind of value for money in a
- 8:24Speaker 6: player like him, because he's been outstanding, really old through
- 8:27Speaker 6: the season in a team that again was struggling massively
- 8:30Speaker 6: on fighting and has been struggling quite quite a lot lately.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Dcl Sam for me, he was going to be one
- 8:36Speaker 1: of my potential sales. He still is, but he's got
- 8:37Speaker 1: one hundred FPL points for the season. He's seventy six
- 8:41Speaker 1: points or the most among forward since game week thirteen,
- 8:44Speaker 1: ahead of Arling Harland. He's exceptional value, isn't he? And
- 8:48Speaker 1: it feels a bit like a tirgoing away. If you
- 8:50Speaker 1: sell him, he's probably going to punish you at some point.
- 8:53Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 8:53Speaker 3: I think the difficulty is that there's a lot of
- 8:55Speaker 3: forwards in that kind of six to seven and a
- 8:57Speaker 3: half ish million bracket that just suddenly starting to show
- 9:00Speaker 3: themselves as options. Obviously we'll talk about Joel Pedro in
- 9:03Speaker 3: a little bit when we get to that game. He's
- 9:06Speaker 3: definitely in there as an option and was one that
- 9:08Speaker 3: I quite seriously looked at ahead of this one. And
- 9:11Speaker 3: then obviously you've got the cheaper ones as well, the
- 9:13Speaker 3: likes of Creepy Jr. Who or It didn't get anything
- 9:15Speaker 3: this week but has been doing really well over recent week.
- 9:19Speaker 3: So and then obviously you've got Mana who's got the
- 9:21Speaker 3: double next week, so I think there's options, but Dominic
- 9:23Speaker 3: Calvit lew In just it's slightly cheaper than most of
- 9:26Speaker 3: those other forwards that we've just mentioned. Obviously the two
- 9:28Speaker 3: Cheepe's are different altogether, but I don't know. I kind
- 9:33Speaker 3: of like the fixture for Calvt lew In this week,
- 9:34Speaker 3: which is why I held him. Moving forward, the fixtures,
- 9:38Speaker 3: I mean they are a bit more bit more mixed
- 9:40Speaker 3: for leads, to say the least. It's Chelsea, Aston Villa
- 9:42Speaker 3: and man City up next before Sunderland, Crystal Palace and Brentford.
- 9:45Speaker 3: So maybe now is the time to start looking to
- 9:49Speaker 3: sell him, especially as we head into the period of
- 9:51Speaker 3: time where we're looking at doubles and blank game weeks.
- 9:54Speaker 3: Maybe there's an opportunity there if you have if you haven't,
- 9:58Speaker 3: for example, got three arsenal and you to find a
- 10:00Speaker 3: way to get an extra one and you want it
- 10:02Speaker 3: to be Yokras, then maybe you can find the money
- 10:04Speaker 3: to do that. If you sell Dominic Calbot Lewmin and
- 10:06Speaker 3: it doesn't necessarily look a bad decision given the next
- 10:10Speaker 3: three fixtures, but after the next three then maybe you
- 10:13Speaker 3: might look at getting it back in again.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I think for me in the short term he's
- 10:16Speaker 1: a probable sale. The early kickoff then was Manchester United too? Sorry, Sam,
- 10:20Speaker 1: Spurs Neil, We're not going to talk about this. I'm
- 10:22Speaker 1: just going to read a start. Romero's sixth red cards,
- 10:24Speaker 1: first player to get two in the league this season.
- 10:26Speaker 1: He'll know miss four Premier League matches, including the mid
- 10:28Speaker 1: week round against Newcastle and the North London derby. I
- 10:31Speaker 1: think Spurs have only got one fit center back who
- 10:33Speaker 1: is probably the best center back maybe arguably. Yeah he
- 10:36Speaker 1: isn't he Mickey van Derven. However, that probably means we
- 10:39Speaker 1: don't need to talk too much about Spurs because I'm
- 10:41Speaker 1: sure people aren't rushing to bring them in with Newcastle
- 10:44Speaker 1: and Arsenal next. But what about Manchester United Jewels, because
- 10:47Speaker 1: I mean Bruno, Let's be honest. Bruno's late goal helped
- 10:51Speaker 1: us out, didn't it.
- 10:52Speaker 5: Yeah, massively with his shin as well.
- 10:54Speaker 6: But nothing is impossible for this guy right now, and
- 10:57Speaker 6: nothing really seems impossible for my so United four wins
- 11:01Speaker 6: in a row in the league another game when maybe
- 11:05Speaker 6: they didn't.
- 11:06Speaker 5: Again, they wrote their.
- 11:07Speaker 6: Luck a little bit with the red card that you
- 11:09Speaker 6: know from Romero that was obviously completely needless and to
- 11:13Speaker 6: play with the extra man for an hour or so
- 11:17Speaker 6: it was massive obviously, but they somehow brought the deadlock
- 11:21Speaker 6: in the end and Bomo with a lovely combination on
- 11:23Speaker 6: that corner. And again we mentioned a lot in Bomo
- 11:26Speaker 6: and Bruno in the last few shows and I think
- 11:29Speaker 6: they proved us right against that. If you want to
- 11:32Speaker 6: invest in Monster United and right now, you should really
- 11:35Speaker 6: especially for those one of those two players, or those
- 11:37Speaker 6: two players. Defensively, they were decent again, so if you
- 11:42Speaker 6: think about another player, but really Bruno is our standing
- 11:44Speaker 6: in his favorite number ten position.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Yeah, it does feel like Bruno plus two from Manchester United,
- 11:49Speaker 1: doesn't it? Sam another return from Bomb. He was kind
- 11:53Speaker 1: of leaving Manchester United with a bit of a limb,
- 11:55Speaker 1: wasn't He wasn't looking great. So I guess that will
- 11:58Speaker 1: maybe make people be a little bit wary anywhere else
- 12:01Speaker 1: we could invest when I Jors has gone elsewhere obviously.
- 12:05Speaker 3: Yeah, and actually you know, you look at the pictures
- 12:06Speaker 3: that they have coming up, it's west Ham before Everton,
- 12:09Speaker 3: Crystal Palace, Newcastle and then Villa. There's definitely an opportunity
- 12:12Speaker 3: to go for additional managester United assets. Counya's definitely in
- 12:16Speaker 3: there as an option, but we talked about before how
- 12:19Speaker 3: we might see some rotation in and around those positions
- 12:21Speaker 3: and where they might play. Sessca obviously came off the
- 12:24Speaker 3: bench in this one, and my goodness me, I don't
- 12:26Speaker 3: know how he missed the sitter in injury time and
- 12:29Speaker 3: has If he scores that that's an assist for Bruno
- 12:32Speaker 3: that would have got him a fourteen point hall rather
- 12:34Speaker 3: than a ten point hall because he'd have obviously also
- 12:36Speaker 3: got the assist. He would have also stolen the three
- 12:38Speaker 3: bonus points away from Dallo. So it was a bit frustrating,
- 12:42Speaker 3: but I think probably that maybe.
- 12:44Speaker 4: Makes Carrot go.
- 12:45Speaker 3: You can stay on the bench a little bit longer
- 12:46Speaker 3: and I'll carry on playing with the guys they have
- 12:49Speaker 3: the defense, maybe we.
- 12:50Speaker 4: Could have a look at.
- 12:51Speaker 3: But then, having said that, actually the XG in this
- 12:55Speaker 3: game was pretty level right up until Romero gets sent off,
- 12:58Speaker 3: when obviously then it's massively improved for Manchester United.
- 13:03Speaker 4: So it's difficult to judge.
- 13:04Speaker 3: This one defensively on the game that we watched because
- 13:08Speaker 3: burs were down to ten men for so much of
- 13:10Speaker 3: this game.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Do you want to add anything on Spurs? Shall we
- 13:13Speaker 1: move on?
- 13:16Speaker 6: No?
- 13:16Speaker 4: You dog?
- 13:17Speaker 3: You went off with a hamstring injury. That's another defensive problem.
- 13:19Speaker 3: I think the only thing to say is the new costle.
- 13:21Speaker 3: We'll talk about them in a minute. They look a
- 13:23Speaker 3: lot better and we got them in midweek. But I
- 13:25Speaker 3: just don't think you can invest in Spurs at least
- 13:27Speaker 3: for the next three or four weeks. The fixers do
- 13:30Speaker 3: then swing for the better in and around game week
- 13:32Speaker 3: thirty thirty one.
- 13:34Speaker 4: Ish, So let's maybe just.
- 13:37Speaker 3: As well well, and who's not injured, who's who's who's
- 13:41Speaker 3: not suspended? That would also be nice. So yeah, just
- 13:43Speaker 3: forget about Spurs for the next few weeks.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Okay, maybe target them Arsenal three, Sunderlin nil. We can
- 13:50Speaker 1: have a little bit more double game we chat here.
- 13:52Speaker 1: I think because your career is Jewels, is he emerging
- 13:54Speaker 1: as an option? Two goals off the bench, three bonus points.
- 13:57Speaker 1: That's three goals for his last two matches.
- 13:59Speaker 6: Yeah, it was interesting to see him starting on the bench,
- 14:02Speaker 6: but I think there's something also in him being able
- 14:04Speaker 6: to come on like he did in that kind of
- 14:06Speaker 6: game against a team that worked really hard that far
- 14:10Speaker 6: had been really good for what.
- 14:11Speaker 5: They could do on a pitch even if they were behind.
- 14:14Speaker 6: But then your Cares comes on for the last half
- 14:16Speaker 6: hour and and just bullies those defenders in his the
- 14:19Speaker 6: right position and get the right service like we saw.
- 14:23Speaker 5: Okay, the second goal is a.
- 14:24Speaker 6: Gift by Martinelli and and is it happened. But his
- 14:27Speaker 6: first goal on his first touch, by the first touch
- 14:30Speaker 6: being his first touch, and then the shot his second
- 14:32Speaker 6: his second shot, this is what he can do as well,
- 14:34Speaker 6: and I think that would be wise at some point
- 14:36Speaker 6: in the season to use him that way off the bench.
- 14:39Speaker 6: I expect him to start one of the two games,
- 14:43Speaker 6: if not both games that we just mentioned, and I
- 14:47Speaker 6: think that would be right.
- 14:48Speaker 5: That would be right as well.
- 14:49Speaker 6: It's on great form and so Arsenal overrolled because Gabriges
- 14:53Speaker 6: started and I thought did well even if he didn't score.
- 14:55Speaker 6: Harvest was there as well as a kind of second
- 14:58Speaker 6: striker slash number ten maybe instead of all the guard
- 15:01Speaker 6: got the assist on the Arsenal second goal and your
- 15:03Speaker 6: kerass first Gold could have even scored himself after just
- 15:05Speaker 6: a minute with the header. So there was a really
- 15:08Speaker 6: lot of positive I think for Arsenal in that in
- 15:09Speaker 6: a very convincing win.
- 15:11Speaker 1: Sam, we're obviously all traveled up on Arsenal going into
- 15:15Speaker 1: this double game week. If you weren't treveled on the
- 15:17Speaker 1: three you are, who would be or three of choice?
- 15:19Speaker 1: Or do you have them?
- 15:21Speaker 3: I have them because I think the problem is is
- 15:23Speaker 3: that you just apart from Ryot and super Mendi, I
- 15:26Speaker 3: don't think that you can guarantee minutes across that front
- 15:29Speaker 3: line or the midfield for Arsenal right now. They're all
- 15:32Speaker 3: going to get somewhere between sixty and one hundred and
- 15:34Speaker 3: sixty minutes across that double game week. Very few of
- 15:37Speaker 3: them are going to start both games and play for
- 15:40Speaker 3: four ninety minutes in both of them. Jokerez has probably
- 15:43Speaker 3: got a boost for his expected minutes based upon his
- 15:48Speaker 3: performance when he comes off the bench, but six of
- 15:50Speaker 3: his eight goals this season have come against newly promoted sites,
- 15:53Speaker 3: so that tells you something. Plus, it always seems to
- 15:55Speaker 3: be the Arsenal forward that comes off the bench that
- 15:58Speaker 3: then does something in the game with the one that's
- 16:00Speaker 3: arts plays all right but doesn't really do anything. So
- 16:02Speaker 3: it's really hard to know what to do in terms
- 16:04Speaker 3: of investing in that front nine. I think if you
- 16:06Speaker 3: want to buy a lottery ticket and risk which one
- 16:10Speaker 3: of the ones Arteta is going to start, then I'm
- 16:12Speaker 3: here for that because that's probably going to be the
- 16:15Speaker 3: best way to differentiate your team in the double game
- 16:18Speaker 3: week is to go for one of those additional players
- 16:21Speaker 3: at Arsenal, to go for somebody like your Cares, or
- 16:24Speaker 3: to go for somebody like Haves or Madowaki and just
- 16:27Speaker 3: hope that they get a decent amount of minutes across
- 16:31Speaker 3: the two fixtures, preferably in the game against Wolves, because
- 16:34Speaker 3: I think that's probably the opportunity, whereas the one against
- 16:37Speaker 3: Brentford I suspect will be a more difficult game, so
- 16:41Speaker 3: we're just going to have to see. I think what
- 16:43Speaker 3: was actually really interesting in this one for me was
- 16:45Speaker 3: the defense because this week I've been saying for weeks, yeah,
- 16:50Speaker 3: but Raya doesn't get any opside in order to Sleeba,
- 16:53Speaker 3: so it rules them out of the conversation. You have
- 16:54Speaker 3: to get Timby, you have to get Gabrielle because the
- 16:56Speaker 3: attacking returns well this week was the total opposite. We
- 16:58Speaker 3: get a bonus point out of Raya, who actually didn't
- 17:00Speaker 3: really do very much in this game, but yet still
- 17:03Speaker 3: got the bonus point. He made two stops I think,
- 17:06Speaker 3: and then also had a couple of other slightly unconvincing
- 17:10Speaker 3: saves and also dropped one of his crosses. But anyway,
- 17:14Speaker 3: and Saliba, he was actually really good in this one
- 17:17Speaker 3: and banked the deaf Cons for the first time since
- 17:19Speaker 3: game week one, So I don't know if we learn
- 17:23Speaker 3: a lot about Arsenal in this one. I think you
- 17:24Speaker 3: still go for the upside of Timber and Gabrielle if
- 17:26Speaker 3: you want to go defensively, because since game week one
- 17:29Speaker 3: that Saliba got the deaf Con and it's been since
- 17:31Speaker 3: game week two that Rare gave us an additional point
- 17:34Speaker 3: outside of just a clean sheet, So I think those
- 17:37Speaker 3: two still are for the best potential, despite the fact
- 17:39Speaker 3: that they didn't bring us much this week.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Gone Angels, same question to you, Are you happy with
- 17:43Speaker 1: your three? And if people listening to this did fancy
- 17:46Speaker 1: maybe being a bit different, where would you stress they go?
- 17:50Speaker 5: Yeah? I think Rice and gabriel I must have.
- 17:52Speaker 6: Really The only reason why I went for Calafiori and
- 17:55Speaker 6: not Timbo is because I just didn't have enough money
- 17:57Speaker 6: on the wild card with everything else I wanted to do.
- 17:59Speaker 5: Either is for me, the three best start Timber, Gabrielle
- 18:02Speaker 5: and Rice.
- 18:03Speaker 6: But you could go for Raya for one of you
- 18:05Speaker 6: two defenders for example, you could try like me Cala
- 18:08Speaker 6: Fury if you have to save a bit of money.
- 18:10Speaker 5: But just to warn you, I don't expect him to
- 18:13Speaker 5: start both games.
- 18:15Speaker 4: He could.
- 18:15Speaker 6: He brings something different between Capier left back, so I
- 18:18Speaker 6: think if I did that wants to.
- 18:19Speaker 5: Be more controlled.
- 18:20Speaker 6: Maybe he could go with Cala Fury, who I thought
- 18:23Speaker 6: played really well for the sixty eight minutes that he
- 18:25Speaker 6: spent on the pitch against Sunderland, for example, and maybe
- 18:28Speaker 6: the fact that he didn't play the whole nineteen minutes
- 18:30Speaker 6: also because he was injured not that long ago. But
- 18:32Speaker 6: it's maybe because he will certainly start at Branford on
- 18:35Speaker 6: Thursday nights. But then yeah, rise Timber, Gabrielle and slash
- 18:40Speaker 6: Raya somewhere and I think you're safe.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Okay, moving on, then I think that's a arsenal chat
- 18:45Speaker 1: very much covered up the last couple of pards Bournmouth
- 18:47Speaker 1: one Villa, one more good Rogers. Okay, I got three bonus,
- 18:56Speaker 1: thank goodness. Yeah he scored too. He almost got death
- 19:00Speaker 1: Cone as well. That really would have been the end
- 19:01Speaker 1: of me. It's finished on eleven. It's been a frustrating home.
- 19:05Speaker 1: But he's I mean there has been talk of selling him,
- 19:09Speaker 1: hasn't there People are desperate. These midfield slots. Samm are
- 19:12Speaker 1: so precious to us. Taught me through your conundrum and
- 19:16Speaker 1: how likely you are to stick with him. I am
- 19:18Speaker 1: now not selling him because he punishes. I still might
- 19:21Speaker 1: sell him because I think if you look at it
- 19:23Speaker 1: over the last few weeks, like he's good in this game,
- 19:25Speaker 1: to be fair, but it's a lot of defensive work
- 19:27Speaker 1: as the defensive contributions show, so he was very involved.
- 19:32Speaker 1: But Villa hadn't expected goals of zero point seventy nine,
- 19:34Speaker 1: which underlines their recent lack of attacking threat and they've
- 19:39Speaker 1: only netted three times in the last five matches. They've
- 19:42Speaker 1: only created nine big chances in that period.
- 19:44Speaker 4: So I still think that.
- 19:45Speaker 3: There's a question mark over whether you bother to invest
- 19:48Speaker 3: in the aston Villa attack.
- 19:49Speaker 6: Now.
- 19:50Speaker 3: The difficulty with this is that obviously they've just paid
- 19:52Speaker 3: Bournemouth is brightened up next who have just gone all
- 19:56Speaker 3: at Sea when it comes to their defending recently, so
- 19:58Speaker 3: there should be goals in it for him in that one,
- 20:01Speaker 3: and then after that it's Leeds Wolves before Chelsea, Manchester
- 20:04Speaker 3: United and west Ham. So the next three fixtures definitely
- 20:07Speaker 3: feel like they are there's an opportunity there to hold
- 20:12Speaker 3: Rogers because if aston Villa do score, it feels like
- 20:14Speaker 3: he's going to be the one to do it. So
- 20:17Speaker 3: I'm really torn on this one. I really still want
- 20:19Speaker 3: to get Florian verts despite the lack of a return
- 20:21Speaker 3: for him today in the Liverpool game. I might just
- 20:24Speaker 3: wait one more week because then I can sell Rice
- 20:28Speaker 3: on the back of the double game week because obviously
- 20:30Speaker 3: he's going to cause me a problem further down the
- 20:31Speaker 3: line anyway, when we get into blank game week thirty one.
- 20:34Speaker 3: So maybe that's the opportunity to just hold Rogers for
- 20:37Speaker 3: a little bit longer. But despite him being good, aston
- 20:41Speaker 3: Villa's underlying numbers going forwards don't look that great.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Tools what do you think?
- 20:47Speaker 5: Yeah, I agree, but that's been the case of all
- 20:48Speaker 5: season anyway.
- 20:49Speaker 6: Nothing you you know, this is what they've been doing somehow,
- 20:54Speaker 6: and that's what he has been doing as well. And
- 20:56Speaker 6: this one, okay, he's not too harth of a finished
- 20:59Speaker 6: but still is quite a long expected goals for the
- 21:01Speaker 6: goal that he's called anyway, So I attempted to keep
- 21:05Speaker 6: him again for the same reason as Sam. I fancy
- 21:08Speaker 6: the next two games for them, and then after that.
- 21:10Speaker 6: I think it's the kind of player that you need
- 21:11Speaker 6: to reassess almost game week after game week and how
- 21:15Speaker 6: you feel.
- 21:16Speaker 5: But be ready.
- 21:17Speaker 6: Unfortunately for UKs it was you this week, it was
- 21:19Speaker 6: all of us at some point in this season.
- 21:21Speaker 5: No, it's true.
- 21:22Speaker 6: And then just be ready in case you don't feel
- 21:25Speaker 6: him really for a game week that he can always
- 21:27Speaker 6: return because he's really capable of stuff that you don't
- 21:31Speaker 6: really expect him too sometimes.
- 21:32Speaker 1: Do you know the reason it felt even worse that
- 21:33Speaker 1: the Rochester thing happened, because you know, Cole Palmer is scoring
- 21:36Speaker 1: the hat trick, which will come on to in just
- 21:37Speaker 1: a moment. This week. It just reminded me of that
- 21:39Speaker 1: week where I didn't bring him in last season when
- 21:41Speaker 1: he scored four goals, and so I had a horrible
- 21:43Speaker 1: flashbacks to that. And then Morgan Rogers happened. I was like,
- 21:46Speaker 1: is Morgan Rochester now going to get a hatrick as well?
- 21:48Speaker 1: Just it feel even worse anyway. In fact, let's talk
- 21:51Speaker 1: about that next Wolves one Chelsea three.
- 21:53Speaker 4: As I just said.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Col Palm was called first half hat trick, two penalties,
- 21:57Speaker 1: got three bonus and first of ale digit holes of
- 21:59Speaker 1: the campaign. We've been saying, Joels, haven't we be cautious
- 22:02Speaker 1: he's not quite ready. He said it himself postmatch. Didn't
- 22:04Speaker 1: he's he's not fully fit. Well, if that's not him
- 22:07Speaker 1: fully fit, I'm more than happy to have him not
- 22:10Speaker 1: fully fit and very much look forward to him being fit.
- 22:12Speaker 5: Do we need to get him Yeah, you're right.
- 22:15Speaker 6: I mean he played only an hour, so it came
- 22:17Speaker 6: off for the last half hour. There's two penalties, as
- 22:19Speaker 6: you said, of the three goals, so it's not like
- 22:21Speaker 6: if the three goals are three bangals where he dribbled
- 22:23Speaker 6: the whole team and a full pace and all of that.
- 22:26Speaker 6: He's clearly still not as you said, fully fit, and
- 22:28Speaker 6: not even just fully fit, but match fit either completely.
- 22:31Speaker 5: So there's probably more to come from him.
- 22:34Speaker 6: I know when somebody's called a hat twig, you'll be
- 22:35Speaker 6: tempted to bring him in. I think they will still
- 22:38Speaker 6: look after his minutes. I don't think he's guaranteed to
- 22:41Speaker 6: start the next league game, especially because he's so close
- 22:43Speaker 6: to this game week.
- 22:44Speaker 5: As we said, if.
- 22:45Speaker 6: He was next weekend maybe, but now I'm not sure
- 22:48Speaker 6: if he can start back to back from a league
- 22:50Speaker 6: matches within three days of each other. So I still
- 22:53Speaker 6: feel despite the hatch twig dice, it would be a
- 22:56Speaker 6: bit early to bring him.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Now.
- 22:58Speaker 1: I was that person sitting there toying with my team
- 23:00Speaker 1: Sam on Saturday afternoon at about four o'clock, going, well,
- 23:03Speaker 1: if I sell this person, I do this, I do this,
- 23:05Speaker 1: I can just about to get him in. But that's
- 23:06Speaker 1: the problem, isn't it. He's expensive, Yeah, and his x
- 23:10Speaker 1: G was zero point two zero, so it wasn't big.
- 23:13Speaker 1: It's two penalties and two fortunate penalties because jab Pego
- 23:17Speaker 1: is going nowhere for either of them. It's just two
- 23:19Speaker 1: ridiculous vowels to give two penalties. They were penalties were
- 23:22Speaker 1: ridiculous vowels to give. You can't really odds to that
- 23:25Speaker 1: like that's that just happens. Sometimes sometimes you do get
- 23:28Speaker 1: lucky with that. His third god was slightly different that
- 23:31Speaker 1: that was nice. However, I think that XG kind of
- 23:36Speaker 1: still does enough. Plus what Jewls was saying about his
- 23:38Speaker 1: injury concerns and the managem minutes, that's still enough to
- 23:41Speaker 1: put me off getting him given the cost involved. It's
- 23:44Speaker 1: not like we're talking about finding another eight million or
- 23:46Speaker 1: nine million. We're talking about finding more than ten.
- 23:49Speaker 3: That's a lot to be finding for a player that
- 23:53Speaker 3: doesn't have the expected minutes just yet and won't be
- 23:56Speaker 3: given to easy penalties to score every week.
- 23:59Speaker 1: How does it affect Enzos Jeels in terms of Israel?
- 24:03Speaker 6: I think RNA is more affecting Palmer himself because he
- 24:07Speaker 6: plays on that Rahan side, which is not really good
- 24:10Speaker 6: for him. We all know that Enzo as a ten
- 24:12Speaker 6: when Andre Santos and Casido are the.
- 24:15Speaker 5: Double pivot the two in front of the of the
- 24:17Speaker 5: back four.
- 24:18Speaker 6: If Enzo drops a bit deeper, then Palmer will get
- 24:22Speaker 6: the number ten position again, but that was not the
- 24:25Speaker 6: case in this game for example, and obviously, like Sam said,
- 24:28Speaker 6: on the Rahan side it's far away from the goal.
- 24:31Speaker 6: He has a player like Joe Pedro who's very different
- 24:34Speaker 6: to Nicolas Jackson, for example, who used to run a.
- 24:36Speaker 5: Lot more in behind than what je Pedro. Jo Pedro
- 24:38Speaker 5: wants the ball.
- 24:39Speaker 6: He's more actually a ten than a nine himself, anyway,
- 24:41Speaker 6: so I think he's it is a bit difficult, more
- 24:44Speaker 6: difficult only for Palmer when Enzo plays as a ten,
- 24:46Speaker 6: it's good for us who owned enso although in this
- 24:49Speaker 6: game he blanked, but.
- 24:51Speaker 5: Because yeah, we were better lucky.
- 24:53Speaker 6: And it's better Fiendo to play as close as possible
- 24:56Speaker 6: to the operation box than when he plays in the
- 24:57Speaker 6: double pavot, So for us, he works for Corpama not
- 25:01Speaker 6: so much.
- 25:01Speaker 1: Shuel Pedro go and Jeegy. You can answer this one
- 25:03Speaker 1: as well, because of course you you went big on him,
- 25:06Speaker 1: you expected him too well, you said he was going
- 25:08Speaker 1: to really did.
- 25:09Speaker 6: Yeah, although, like Sam said, that was a little bit lucky,
- 25:12Speaker 6: like old joy Pedro owner, whether you're captain.
- 25:14Speaker 5: Him or not. Why why or nerves would you make
- 25:18Speaker 5: those file as articulous the same?
- 25:22Speaker 6: Yeah, but even the Wolf's played themselves, really did I
- 25:25Speaker 6: did I do this that.
- 25:28Speaker 5: They will learn from their mistake? We like you with Rogers.
- 25:32Speaker 5: It's just I.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Think a similar one should make a compilation of my
- 25:35Speaker 1: eye rolls on the.
- 25:38Speaker 2: No.
- 25:39Speaker 6: Yeah, thank you very much to do the Wolves defense
- 25:42Speaker 6: for gifting us those points for Dray Pedro.
- 25:43Speaker 1: Basically yeah, but we do we all need him now, Sam?
- 25:48Speaker 1: Or is it is it so much that this that
- 25:50Speaker 1: was kind of such a skewed game is.
- 25:52Speaker 5: In good form.
- 25:53Speaker 4: That's for sure, he's in good form.
- 25:56Speaker 3: But equally he could easily have blanked in this one,
- 25:58Speaker 3: and would have if it wasn't for the Wolves to
- 26:00Speaker 3: just fouling him for no apparent reason. So that's not
- 26:03Speaker 3: going to happen every week. And honestly, when I was
- 26:06Speaker 3: watching this one back, I was like, you are joking,
- 26:08Speaker 3: what are you doing? Stop even I wouldn't have done that.
- 26:10Speaker 3: Stop doing that. Obviously, the fixtures that they have coming
- 26:14Speaker 3: up still remain nice for the next two, so it
- 26:15Speaker 3: obviously leads up next before Burnley. After that, I think
- 26:19Speaker 3: you know then you're going to be probably looking for
- 26:21Speaker 3: an exix strategy with a difficult set of fixtures Arsenal
- 26:24Speaker 3: Villa Newcastle. So yeah, jil Pedro remains a buye. I
- 26:28Speaker 3: think whether you want to prioritize him over the double
- 26:31Speaker 3: game weekers remains to be seen. But we should always
- 26:34Speaker 3: remember that single game weekers often outscore their double game
- 26:37Speaker 3: week counterparts, particularly those that we're not sure are going
- 26:40Speaker 3: to start in both, like your Carez, even like Manet,
- 26:43Speaker 3: who's got one good fixture and one poor one like
- 26:46Speaker 3: jel Pedro, probably is still the best pick second pick
- 26:50Speaker 3: up top for this game week I probably still won't
- 26:53Speaker 3: have him, which is annoying.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Okay, then before we move on to the other games,
- 26:58Speaker 1: just I got carried away in the Bournemouth Villa chat
- 27:00Speaker 1: and didn't actually mention Bournemouth, so I so wanted to
- 27:03Speaker 1: move on from that game. Bournemouth fans listening to it's
- 27:05Speaker 1: going to be very angry angry with me. Arayn got
- 27:08Speaker 1: a goal on his first start. That's two attacking returns
- 27:10Speaker 1: in two appearances. But notably, I think, particularly an FBL
- 27:13Speaker 1: terms budget enabler, James Hill got an assistant deaf con
- 27:17Speaker 1: just quickly. Sam. He's a real option, now, isn't he
- 27:19Speaker 1: someone like me that doesn't have Senessi especially, and I'll
- 27:22Speaker 1: probably need to find some funds. I'd be really considering
- 27:25Speaker 1: him for someone like me that does have SANESSI. I'm
- 27:27Speaker 1: really considering him because I think for me, I need
- 27:31Speaker 1: to find some budget eventually to go from either Rice
- 27:34Speaker 1: or Rogers, however I decide to do it to florin Verts.
- 27:37Speaker 1: I need some money for that. The easiest way to
- 27:39Speaker 1: do that is to just go from Senesti to James Hill.
- 27:42Speaker 1: I'm not losing anything. They pretty much level out with
- 27:45Speaker 1: deaf cons every week. In fact, James Hill got them
- 27:47Speaker 1: in this one and Sessi didn't, which was very irritating
- 27:50Speaker 1: as a Senesti owner. But he does have this slight
- 27:54Speaker 1: attacking threat. Now Jews will hate this assist because it
- 27:56Speaker 1: is literally just is just a simple part.
- 28:00Speaker 4: And that's the end of it.
- 28:02Speaker 3: But nonetheless it's still an assist in fl terms and
- 28:05Speaker 3: he's three point nine million. There are not a lot
- 28:08Speaker 3: of better options right now than him, particularly when you
- 28:12Speaker 3: consider the fixtures that they have coming up. So obviously
- 28:15Speaker 3: this was the more difficult one where I wasn't expecting
- 28:17Speaker 3: a clean sheet, But over the next three weeks it's Everton,
- 28:19Speaker 3: west Ham and Sunderland. Those fixtures definitely feel like opportunities
- 28:24Speaker 3: where there can be clean sheets and there could be
- 28:27Speaker 3: more def gone and maybe there's another attacking return in
- 28:29Speaker 3: there for James Hill. So if you have Sinessi or
- 28:32Speaker 3: if you don't have Sinesti, I definitely think he's the
- 28:35Speaker 3: player to invest in.
- 28:36Speaker 4: From a Bournmouth perspective.
- 28:38Speaker 1: Bernie Neil west Ham two a couple of players that
- 28:41Speaker 1: perhaps we've overlooked because west Ham haven't had the best season.
- 28:45Speaker 1: Some Ofville Jewels scored for the fourth game in a row.
- 28:47Speaker 1: That's his fifth in all competitions. As well, you've got
- 28:50Speaker 1: the fifth assist of the season and amongst offenders only
- 28:52Speaker 1: Jyogo Dallo and Naudie Mukiele have more with six each.
- 28:56Speaker 1: Do we need to start looking at west Ham?
- 28:58Speaker 6: Certainly the form is is getting better and the way
- 29:01Speaker 6: they player as well, some of the new signings that
- 29:04Speaker 6: cast scored. Again, this started at the bag and okay
- 29:08Speaker 6: it was it was just Burnley and by the way,
- 29:10Speaker 6: Burnley our chances far more than west Time in this
- 29:13Speaker 6: game where they were qua unlucky at least not to
- 29:15Speaker 6: score one in there. But that also goes with what
- 29:19Speaker 6: you know is trying to do there and making this
- 29:21Speaker 6: team better defensively certainly than what they've been because you know,
- 29:25Speaker 6: going forwards but when has always been good as is
- 29:29Speaker 6: a really good player. Somerville, as we say, is back
- 29:31Speaker 6: in form. The arrival of Castillianos and Pablos has helped,
- 29:35Speaker 6: that's for sure too. It's just defensively where they need
- 29:38Speaker 6: to be a bit better. And now that they're very
- 29:40Speaker 6: much back into this huge, incredible relegation battle with them
- 29:45Speaker 6: and Forest and still leads and I'm sorry Sam Bespurs
- 29:49Speaker 6: as well, because they've been so bad.
- 29:51Speaker 5: You know, they are down there, they are.
- 29:53Speaker 6: It's just it's just, yeah, it's just picking or suddenly
- 29:56Speaker 6: hitting a bit more form at the right time for Western.
- 29:59Speaker 1: Okay one, Everton two a godlessist all three bonus for
- 30:03Speaker 1: Jewsbury Hall. That's thirteen points total there four double digit
- 30:06Speaker 1: return of the season. Ever some brilliant particularly away from home.
- 30:09Speaker 1: Let's move on though and talk about Newcastle two, Bremford three,
- 30:13Speaker 1: I mean, Brentford. Sandler's just they're just having a brilliant season,
- 30:17Speaker 1: aren't there. And there are some good picks in there
- 30:20Speaker 1: for us, it's just been hard to kind of get
- 30:21Speaker 1: them at the right time. Aside from Thiago, yeah, and
- 30:24Speaker 1: even Thiago, to be honest, people have been missing out
- 30:27Speaker 1: on Hales, left, right and center with him because you know,
- 30:29Speaker 1: we had those weeks where they had those really nice
- 30:31Speaker 1: fixtures and he did nothing, so we all sold him.
- 30:33Speaker 1: Then he came back in and got a couple of
- 30:34Speaker 1: digit Hales and we all missed out on them, and
- 30:36Speaker 1: we all brought him back in and then he started
- 30:38Speaker 1: blanking again. And it's been constant, hasn't it with him?
- 30:40Speaker 1: It's been a really despite him having actually a really
- 30:43Speaker 1: good season when you look at it, over all, these
- 30:45Speaker 1: good chunks of the season have come in blocks and
- 30:47Speaker 1: that's been really tough in FPL to just be on
- 30:49Speaker 1: him at the right moment. Obviously, this is another penalty
- 30:52Speaker 1: from him. So again there was a lot of penalties
- 30:55Speaker 1: this week, and that's something that you want in FPL.
- 30:59Speaker 1: That's why you buy these players, right because they have
- 31:01Speaker 1: penalty responsibility.
- 31:03Speaker 4: So for him, you.
- 31:04Speaker 3: Know, it's a good route to points that he has
- 31:07Speaker 3: Dan go Obviously, that's two goals and two matches for him.
- 31:10Speaker 3: Now we also picked up the system two bonus points
- 31:12Speaker 3: and weirdly it wasn't him that won the penalty for
- 31:14Speaker 3: a change way it normally is. And then Matais Jensen,
- 31:17Speaker 3: who I thought was absolutely brilliant in this one, like
- 31:21Speaker 3: he was outstanding, two asists, three bonus points. That was
- 31:23Speaker 3: his first double digit hall of this season. He was
- 31:25Speaker 3: brilliant and I thought they got it wrong and he
- 31:28Speaker 3: should have been man of the match to be honest,
- 31:29Speaker 3: but as did Jordan Henderson at the end.
- 31:33Speaker 4: It was really funny.
- 31:34Speaker 3: But yeah, Brentford impressive to come to keep coming back
- 31:37Speaker 3: in this one I was. I was really quite impressed.
- 31:39Speaker 3: I don't have any Brentford assets. In fact, I didn't
- 31:42Speaker 3: have any Newcastle ones either, so this game was really painful.
- 31:44Speaker 3: Particularly when Thiago and Bruno Gumaroes both scored penalties.
- 31:48Speaker 4: I was like, well, that is going to hurt my
- 31:50Speaker 4: overall rank.
- 31:50Speaker 3: Thank you both, because they're both quite popular in FPL terms.
- 31:55Speaker 3: Now for Brentford, obviously it's the Arsenal game up next
- 31:58Speaker 3: before some really great fixtures, so maybe you don't want
- 32:01Speaker 3: to invest if you're not already ahead of the midweek
- 32:04Speaker 3: round of fixtures. But when you get into game week
- 32:05Speaker 3: twenty seven, it's Brighton Bernie Bournemouth Wolves leads Everton Fulham.
- 32:10Speaker 3: That's a brilliant run and at that point I think
- 32:12Speaker 3: we're going to need to have at least one Brentford
- 32:15Speaker 3: asset in our team's Newcastle.
- 32:18Speaker 4: I mean, let's see.
- 32:18Speaker 3: They gotta go away to Spurs, who apparently are in
- 32:20Speaker 3: a relegation battle in midweek, so let's see what happens there.
- 32:24Speaker 3: Maybe we'll get more players sent off or have some
- 32:27Speaker 3: more injuries that will be lovely before they go to
- 32:29Speaker 3: l Way to Manchester City. So a couple of I'm
- 32:32Speaker 3: going to call them difficult fixtures, even if Jewors doesn't
- 32:34Speaker 3: think coming to the totenhat's the stadium is. And then
- 32:37Speaker 3: it's Everton, Manchester United and Chelsea after that. So maybe
- 32:40Speaker 3: Newcastle you can avoid for a little bit. But I
- 32:42Speaker 3: think Brentford we have to invest in.
- 32:44Speaker 1: Yeah, probably until they get a little bit consistency. Brighton
- 32:47Speaker 1: Neil Palace one Van Ecker wasn't in the squad was
- 32:50Speaker 1: quite relieved though, because they wouldn't have got a click.
- 32:52Speaker 1: Well maybe you would have given them clean sweet I
- 32:54Speaker 1: don't know, but I've got four points for Michael Keane
- 32:56Speaker 1: off my bench, so worst things have happened. I think
- 32:59Speaker 1: he's now going to be a cell for me, especially
- 33:01Speaker 1: because Brighton haven't got a clean sheet since game week
- 33:04Speaker 1: twenty Jules. Brighton inconsistent defensively, don't look great, as Sam's
- 33:08Speaker 1: already alluded to. But for Palace, how they needed that one?
- 33:12Speaker 6: Yeah, massively. It's one winning twelve nine in the league.
- 33:14Speaker 6: For Brighton they really struggling. They struggled. I thought even
- 33:19Speaker 6: a the live with the ball to create something and
- 33:22Speaker 6: they still have really good players obviously, but there's something
- 33:24Speaker 6: not clicking, not happening for them and even against the
- 33:27Speaker 6: Palace team in a game of such huge importance obviously
- 33:31Speaker 6: for two sets of fans considering the rivalries for Palace
- 33:34Speaker 6: to go awhere like they did and get that win.
- 33:37Speaker 6: Some of the new signings from Larson started came on
- 33:40Speaker 6: and gave the assist to Smail Lassa who scored and
- 33:44Speaker 6: got a little bit lucky because it's a great header
- 33:46Speaker 6: by the way from Verbrugen into his own goal. But
- 33:49Speaker 6: this was exactly what Glasner and Palace would have wanted
- 33:52Speaker 6: after so many weeks of term or let's call it
- 33:55Speaker 6: what it is and not good results.
- 33:57Speaker 1: Congratulations to anyone who held a Palace defender. But because
- 34:00Speaker 1: you've earned that clean sheet, I think because they've been
- 34:03Speaker 1: few and far between recently at Liverpool one Man City too.
- 34:06Speaker 1: We could have spoke filled a whole podcast just speaking
- 34:08Speaker 1: about this. What a game, what an ending. Let's not
- 34:11Speaker 1: get into that, but let's start with Harland still lacking
- 34:16Speaker 1: the open play goals.
- 34:17Speaker 4: Where are we at with him?
- 34:18Speaker 1: I mean we're not selling him, are we? This could
- 34:20Speaker 1: I feel like I've said a few times, this could
- 34:22Speaker 1: kickstart him on a run. It feels like at the
- 34:24Speaker 1: end with City. I don't know, something felt a little
- 34:27Speaker 1: bit differently. I expect them to really kick on now.
- 34:30Speaker 4: I think I do as well.
- 34:32Speaker 3: The fixtures are swinging for the better now they've had
- 34:35Speaker 3: a couple of difficult ones, so now we go into
- 34:38Speaker 3: a nicer ron for them Newcastle Leeds notting Forest, west
- 34:42Speaker 3: Ham Palace before the Chelsea Arsenal games, so a nice
- 34:45Speaker 3: one of fixtures. I think that this will give them
- 34:47Speaker 3: some momentum. This result. The problem with Harland is exactly
- 34:52Speaker 3: what we've seen today. Right, it wasn't exactly brilliant day.
- 34:55Speaker 3: It wasn't that threaten. I mean he should have scored
- 34:57Speaker 3: it right of the death were it not for the
- 34:59Speaker 3: dominic Bosli for how he would have gone on to
- 35:02Speaker 3: score from open play. However, his ownership, if you have
- 35:07Speaker 3: taken him out over the last few weeks, which a
- 35:09Speaker 3: lot of managers have, that's going to really hurt. That
- 35:11Speaker 3: eleven pointer today will be really painful to have against you,
- 35:16Speaker 3: because everybody else around you, in your minie leagues and
- 35:19Speaker 3: in the oval rank has him. And this is part
- 35:21Speaker 3: of the problem with heavy owned players. It's that risk
- 35:24Speaker 3: re award strategy. If you take somebody out, that's got
- 35:27Speaker 3: very high ownership and they return. You have to be
- 35:29Speaker 3: prepared to be bitten. It was bad enough having not
- 35:32Speaker 3: captained him and lost a point on that with or
- 35:35Speaker 3: two points I suppose over all with the doubling with
- 35:37Speaker 3: Bruno who got ten. Harland had the eleven, so it
- 35:40Speaker 3: could have been a lot worse to if he discored
- 35:43Speaker 3: that one towards the end that would obviously been another girl.
- 35:46Speaker 3: He took his shirt off. I was thankful of the
- 35:48Speaker 3: yellow card, weirdly because so I was like, yeah, that's fine,
- 35:51Speaker 3: you take your shirt off and celebrate, Whereas normally I'd
- 35:54Speaker 3: have been raging have my captain done that. So yeah,
- 35:57Speaker 3: I think you have to hold. I think the ownership
- 35:59Speaker 3: is too high, like you say Cal's I think the
- 36:01Speaker 3: fixtures are too nice. So probably they're going a little
- 36:04Speaker 3: run now where they try and get ahead of Arsenal,
- 36:07Speaker 3: and at some point they're going to have a double
- 36:10Speaker 3: game week because they have the blank in thirty one.
- 36:12Speaker 3: We don't know when that is yet, so you can't
- 36:15Speaker 3: really be selling them until we know when that fixture
- 36:17Speaker 3: is going to play out.
- 36:18Speaker 1: Liverpool's fixtures go quite nice, don't I know. Suppose like
- 36:22Speaker 1: is obviously got his red cards band for the next
- 36:25Speaker 1: game and he got a goal and deaf con and
- 36:27Speaker 1: it's a potential asset. But Liverpool's fixtures are quite nice now, Jewels,
- 36:31Speaker 1: and they're going to need to pick up some wins
- 36:34Speaker 1: if they're going to get Champions League football.
- 36:36Speaker 5: Yeah, they need to.
- 36:37Speaker 6: This is a bad reason for them and the bad
- 36:38Speaker 6: red card because by the way, he's their fourth right back.
- 36:42Speaker 6: He will be the fourth right back out as well
- 36:45Speaker 6: for the gaming movie, because there's no Bradley, no Frame Pong,
- 36:48Speaker 6: no Gomez and that's why you play there, so you
- 36:50Speaker 6: will have Endo probably at right back or Cursty's Jones,
- 36:52Speaker 6: I guess maybe potentially from a Liverpool point of view,
- 36:55Speaker 6: which is not good news.
- 36:57Speaker 5: And also because he's also very good as.
- 36:58Speaker 6: We saw on the great freaking that scored so Espad
- 37:02Speaker 6: and you're right, Liverpool need points badly. We saw a
- 37:05Speaker 6: kit k with chances today that didn't He didn't take
- 37:08Speaker 6: them and that cost them eventually. Still, I thought Mosella
- 37:12Speaker 6: was quiet, far too quiet. It'stiny for us to invest
- 37:15Speaker 6: in him in the game. And then for vis I
- 37:18Speaker 6: think he tried a lot and another day he could
- 37:21Speaker 6: have worked out a goal or assist somewhere.
- 37:23Speaker 1: Is he the best option at Liverpool Jewels?
- 37:25Speaker 6: Yeah, him and a kitty k You have to look
- 37:28Speaker 6: into them with a good fixture that they're going to
- 37:30Speaker 6: have coming up now, and you might not be able
- 37:32Speaker 6: to afford both on free transfers. But if you play
- 37:34Speaker 6: your world card, if you just have, if you're going
- 37:36Speaker 6: to go for one of them.
- 37:37Speaker 5: Yeah, I think they your two best options.
- 37:39Speaker 1: Okay, then we've got through all of the fixtures. Let's
- 37:42Speaker 1: get onto differential of the week. Sam, you won last
- 37:44Speaker 1: week with one butsak at eight points to the clean
- 37:46Speaker 1: sheet and two death Conjules, you won't talk about Madwork's. Yeah,
- 37:51Speaker 1: So Sam, have you got for us this week?
- 37:54Speaker 4: So undernoted for ages before we came on here.
- 37:57Speaker 3: As to whether to go for double game week, were
- 37:58Speaker 3: a single game maker and in the I decided single
- 38:01Speaker 3: game because I have a habit of just outperforming the doublers.
- 38:05Speaker 3: So rather than try and pick some rogue Arsenal player
- 38:08Speaker 3: or some random Wolf's player, which is probably what Jews has.
- 38:10Speaker 4: Done, I am going to go for it. No, I'm
- 38:13Speaker 4: going to go for a single.
- 38:13Speaker 3: Game week player who's been really good for the last
- 38:15Speaker 3: two weeks and I'm going to go for Ishmaelasa. So
- 38:18Speaker 3: he's six point three million in the game. He's owned
- 38:20Speaker 3: by two point six percent of FPL managers. Now that
- 38:23Speaker 3: ownership has dropped significantly due to his involvement in FCon,
- 38:26Speaker 3: because obviously prior to that he was a very popular
- 38:28Speaker 3: pick in the game, and also Pallas's recent form has
- 38:31Speaker 3: been pretty poor. However, he has paid three matches for
- 38:35Speaker 3: them now since returning from f CON and in that
- 38:37Speaker 3: time scored in two of them. He's also had seven shots,
- 38:41Speaker 3: which has been the most at Crystal Palace. He's had
- 38:43Speaker 3: four big chances, which is again team leading. He's created
- 38:45Speaker 3: two chances and is averaging five point seven points per match.
- 38:48Speaker 3: He faces Burning who have been awful defensively. I think
- 38:52Speaker 3: that's the best way to say it. They've conceded forty
- 38:54Speaker 3: nine goals this season, which is the most in the league.
- 38:56Speaker 3: They've kept just three clean sheets, and they have the
- 38:58Speaker 3: worst expected goals conceded tally in the league. So I
- 39:02Speaker 3: suspective Palace score and it's a home fixture for them,
- 39:05Speaker 3: then Ishmaelasa.
- 39:06Speaker 4: Will be part of that. So That's where I'm going.
- 39:08Speaker 1: Ex Whatford love that Joe's.
- 39:11Speaker 6: So bear with me here because I no, okay, some
- 39:15Speaker 6: of it, but I'm not it's too easy and I'm
- 39:17Speaker 6: not an easy guys.
- 39:18Speaker 5: You know, you know you have to work hard to
- 39:20Speaker 5: get me. So I know some of it, but some
- 39:23Speaker 5: of it could be a good shot.
- 39:24Speaker 6: But it's not who I went for, because I went
- 39:25Speaker 6: for another Crystal Palace forward in Jogan's trained Larsson because
- 39:29Speaker 6: I liked what so today it will cost you six
- 39:32Speaker 6: one million, so it's cheap for forwards. Is only on
- 39:36Speaker 6: bout one one percent of them of the managers who
- 39:38Speaker 6: clearly think like me very much outside of the box
- 39:41Speaker 6: and the whole house.
- 39:42Speaker 1: But you know, it's signed up to the game in
- 39:45Speaker 1: the summer because you had a good end of the season.
- 39:47Speaker 1: Haven't changed the same since.
- 39:49Speaker 6: Very true as well, which that doesn't cover me from glory.
- 39:52Speaker 6: But I still believe that you can have a good
- 39:54Speaker 6: game against Burnley.
- 39:57Speaker 1: Okay, thanks enjoying that one tr person captains captains. We're
- 40:02Speaker 1: going to go with an Arsenal player, aren't we. I
- 40:04Speaker 1: think I'm going to go Gabrielle. I think Jules.
- 40:07Speaker 6: Yeah, And you know the thing in me that will
- 40:11Speaker 6: make me transfer money to my team for example, for
- 40:14Speaker 6: the vibes.
- 40:15Speaker 5: You're going to do that.
- 40:17Speaker 6: Yeah, And the same part of me is thinking, like,
- 40:19Speaker 6: why not triple captain Gabrielle.
- 40:21Speaker 5: Then if you really.
- 40:22Speaker 1: Want, you really want stupid.
- 40:28Speaker 6: I may be mad, but not that stupid. So I'm
- 40:31Speaker 6: just putting this out of there. Why not triple captain
- 40:33Speaker 6: in Gabrielle.
- 40:35Speaker 1: I don't think that's a rogue thing at all. Actually
- 40:38Speaker 1: think that's quite sensible, Sam, what do you think.
- 40:41Speaker 4: I think a lot of people do it.
- 40:43Speaker 3: Actually think it will be a very popular move because
- 40:45Speaker 3: obviously we don't yet know what the other double game
- 40:48Speaker 3: weeks might look like, and as we get further on
- 40:50Speaker 3: in the season, we might have double game weeks where
- 40:52Speaker 3: the bench boost looks better, or we might want to
- 40:54Speaker 3: free hit in them to try and maximize the number
- 40:57Speaker 3: of double game week players that we have. So this
- 40:59Speaker 3: is an opportunity where the title isn't done and we
- 41:02Speaker 3: might get to a point where the other doubles come
- 41:04Speaker 3: at a point where the title races run and then
- 41:06Speaker 3: we start to see rotation around the Premier League because
- 41:10Speaker 3: of European competitions or all of that kind of stuff.
- 41:12Speaker 4: So this does feel like a good moment to do it.
- 41:15Speaker 3: I have concerns about captain in a defender because I
- 41:20Speaker 3: just if the clean sheets go, it's going to feel
- 41:23Speaker 3: really difficult, and I think that Brentford game potentially that's
- 41:26Speaker 3: where the clean sheet might go, if it's going to
- 41:28Speaker 3: go across that double game week. But having said that,
- 41:31Speaker 3: with Gabrielle, you have plenty of upside potential in terms
- 41:34Speaker 3: of defensive contribution points bonus points. If he gets anything
- 41:37Speaker 3: plus then obviously attacking returns and threat from set pieces
- 41:40Speaker 3: from him is really strong. So I actually think that
- 41:43Speaker 3: it will be a popular move. I think it will
- 41:44Speaker 3: be the most popular activation of CHIP this week by
- 41:49Speaker 3: a long way. I think it's the best way to
- 41:53Speaker 3: kind of differentiate Gabrielle in your team because he's going
- 41:56Speaker 3: to be a very popular captain.
- 41:59Speaker 1: Okay, what are you going to do them? Are you
- 42:00Speaker 1: going to captain?
- 42:02Speaker 3: I am going to captain him, but I don't think
- 42:04Speaker 3: i'll triple captain. I think I will wait and possibly
- 42:08Speaker 3: do that in a double game week, possibly do it
- 42:11Speaker 3: in a blank game week, because that will be a
- 42:13Speaker 3: way to differentiate my team in a blank game week
- 42:15Speaker 3: if I have a good player who can so I
- 42:19Speaker 3: might try and play my chips last year a little
- 42:21Speaker 3: bit differently towards the back end of the season this year.
- 42:23Speaker 3: What I'm kind of intrigued by is Jeorge's decision to
- 42:26Speaker 3: bring in Manee because like you've already played your wild card. Yeah,
- 42:31Speaker 3: you've got three arsenal players that are going to blank
- 42:33Speaker 3: in game week thirty one. You'll have Mayne who's going
- 42:35Speaker 3: to blank in game week thirty one.
- 42:37Speaker 4: You've got to Manchester City outside No.
- 42:42Speaker 6: I you know, it's all about talent planning.
- 42:46Speaker 5: Can you see talent planning and vision my little notebook?
- 42:49Speaker 5: So this is all part of the plan. That's all
- 42:52Speaker 5: part of the plan.
- 42:53Speaker 6: Okay, because money is only for the double game week,
- 42:55Speaker 6: I've got four fou transfers right now, so I will
- 42:59Speaker 6: have enough to just cover for that. I think.
- 43:01Speaker 3: Okay, just be careful if you are going to go,
- 43:05Speaker 3: make sure you've got enough transfers to cover yourself for
- 43:07Speaker 3: thirty one.
- 43:08Speaker 1: Right. So let's try and conclude this with what we're
- 43:10Speaker 1: all going to do. So Sam, you're going to captain Gabrielle? Yeah,
- 43:14Speaker 1: I think yes, yes? What and what transfers are you
- 43:16Speaker 1: likely to do? We don't do. Don't let your jewels
- 43:19Speaker 1: call you out for another waffle here.
- 43:23Speaker 4: I think I'm going to roll again.
- 43:25Speaker 1: Oh perfect, Sure that was like five words, because you've
- 43:30Speaker 1: still got the same headaches last week, and you're just
- 43:32Speaker 1: pushing the headache further along.
- 43:34Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, Well because because I still want I still
- 43:36Speaker 3: want for inverts, but Sundland are really good at home
- 43:40Speaker 3: and it's a home fixture for Sunderland, so I think
- 43:42Speaker 3: I'm just going to wait and then I can go
- 43:44Speaker 3: rice to verts as soon as Double Going week twenty
- 43:48Speaker 3: six is done. I think that's what I'm going to do.
- 43:50Speaker 3: So that means I can keep Rogers for the next
