- 0:01There's a difference between joy and enjoyment, enjoyment is a
- 0:06more or less passive State such as when we enjoy some form of
- 0:11entertainment. Joy, on the other hand is an
- 0:16active status, which Rises spontaneously through
- 0:20involvement and action. If we observe children we see
- 0:25that they experience a true state of Joy.
- 0:28When they are able to do something, whether it is
- 0:31learning how to jump for the first time we're helping their
- 0:35mother in some activity, or simply running playing and
- 0:40experiencing life actively. Those who have this spontaneous
- 0:45ability to Simply participate and act have a welling up of Joy
- 0:51internally. Similarly, when we set out to
- 0:55work on some project achieve or accomplish some action, we have
- 1:01the joy of the action which is much more real and intense than
- 1:06the enjoyment of adulation or success that follows when
- 1:10others, appreciate the result. The mother writes quote, it is
- 1:17only effort in whatever domain it be material effort, moral
- 1:23effort, intellectual effort, which creates in the being
- 1:27certain, vibrations, which enable you to get connected with
- 1:31universal vibrations. And it is this, which gives Joy.
- 1:37It is effort which pulls you out of inertia.
- 1:40It is effort. Which makes you receptive to the
- 1:43universal forces. And the one thing above all,
- 1:47which spontaneously gives Joy. Even to those who do not
- 1:52practice yoga, who have no spiritual aspiration who lead
- 1:57quite an ordinary life is the exchange of forces with
- 2:02universal forces. People do not know this, they
- 2:07would not be able to tell you that it is due to this, but so
- 2:11it is, there are people who are just like beautiful animals, all
- 2:17their movements are harmonious. Their energies are spent
- 2:20harmoniously their uncalculated efforts call in energies all the
- 2:25time, and they are always happy. But sometimes they have no
- 2:31thoughts in their head. Sometimes they have no feelings
- 2:35in their heart. They live in altogether,
- 2:38anomalous. Schleif I have known people like
- 2:42that, beautiful animals, they were handsome.
- 2:45Their gestures were harmonious, their forces quite balanced.
- 2:51And they spent without Reckoning and received without measure,
- 2:56they were in harmony with the material Universal forces and
- 3:00they lived in Joy. They could not perhaps of told
- 3:04you that they were happy joy with them was so spontaneous
- 3:08that it was natural. And they would have been still
- 3:12less able to tell you why. For their intelligence was not
- 3:16very developed. I have known such people who are
- 3:20capable of, making the necessary effort, not a prudent and
- 3:25calculated effort, but a spontaneous one in, no matter
- 3:29what, field material, vital intellectual Etc.
- 3:35And in this effort there was always Joy.
- 3:39For example, a man sits down to write a book, he makes an
- 3:43effort, which sets vibrating something in his brain to
- 3:46attract ideas will suddenly this man experiences Joy.
- 3:52It is quite certain that whatever you do even the most
- 3:56material work, like sweeping a room or cooking.
- 4:00If you make the necessary effort to do this work to the maximum
- 4:04of your ability, you will feel Joy.
- 4:07Even if what you do is again, Your nature.
- 4:11When you want to realize something, you make quite
- 4:14spontaneously the necessary effort this, concentrate your
- 4:19energies on the thing to be realized and that gives a
- 4:23meaning to your life. This compels you to a sort of
- 4:28organization of yourself, a sort of concentration of your
- 4:31energies because it is this that you wish to do and not 50 other
- 4:36things which contradicted and it is.
- 4:39In this concentration, this intensity of the, will that lies
- 4:45the origin of Joy? This gives you the power to
- 4:49receive energies in exchange for those you spend. and quote,
