Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: The liberal globalist order is on its brink and awakening a new conservative age.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: Dr. Steve Turley, join me every day as we discover answers to today's toughest challenges and explore the re-bondalization of conservative civilization.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_00]: This is Turley Talks.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_00]: We've got breaking news here of some high-profile Democrats getting arrested all across the country.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_00]: Let's dive right in here with these bombshell announcements, FBI Director Cash Patel just minutes ago, announced the arrest and indictment of none other than the President,
- 0:44[SPEAKER_00]: Lucas reportedly surrendered to federal authorities this morning in a public corruption case involving her cannabis business.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_00]: Now keep in mind, this is the president, Pro Temporary of the Virginia Senate.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_00]: She presides over the entire Senate in the absence of the normal presiding officer and she's also the chair.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_00]: of its finance and appropriations committee, the committee handling the state budget and taxes and spending.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: So this isn't some obscure back venture.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_00]: This is someone sitting right at the center of state power.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_00]: Federal prosecutors alleged Lucas led an enterprise involving family members and associates that acquired and distributed at least 100 kilograms of marijuana
- 1:30[SPEAKER_00]: and then laundered the proceeds.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: Her two daughters and her grandson are among those charged alongside her.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_00]: And here's the allegation that takes this beyond the drug case.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_00]: Prosecutors say she used her political position to protect the enterprise from scrutiny and influence legislation benefiting the business.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_00]: So simply put, this is a case,
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: a political power protecting private profit, that's the accusation.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_00]: And there's more.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_00]: According to the Justice Department, Lucas paid $750,000 for an ownership stake in a company connected to an anticipated recreational marijuana license and then failed to disclose that interest on required financial statements and prosecutors are also describing an alleged
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: involving repayment in response to her advocacy and the legislature concerning the license.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_00]: So, in other words, investigators are examining the intersection of her business interest and her legislative influence.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: According to NBC reports, the feds intercepted a February phone call, relucous allegedly described the opportunity as their, quote, last chance at generational wealth and said, quote, I got into old to not be greedy.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_00]: So of course, it turns out that these accusations are indeed true.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_00]: This would be another example of how politics is turned into a business model, particularly for Democrats.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_00]: Most of us, if we want to make money, get in a finance, or we learn trading, or entrepreneurship, people like Lucas, allegedly, get into politics and stick their hands.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_00]: into the public coffers.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_00]: Lucas faces five federal accounts, including racketeering conspiracy, marijuana distribution conspiracy, money laundering conspiracy, honest services fraud conspiracy, and maintaining drug premises.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: But the Democrat arrests keep coming.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_00]: Let's head north to New York,
- 3:45[SPEAKER_00]: was just arrested and arranged some days back on a grand larceny charge involving over $33,000 of a union's money spent for her own personal benefit.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_00]: Politico identified the organization involved as the Mason Tenders district council pack.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's the
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: political arm of a union representing thousands of construction workers, the very people that Democrats constantly evoke when they want to claim themselves as the voice of the people.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_00]: According to Politico's follow-up report, the union fired Espenal in August,
- 4:24[SPEAKER_00]: after discovering what its packed spokesperson described as personal purchases made with their union credit card.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_00]: And again, we're talking to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars of these purchases.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_00]: Then there's Kissamy Florida, where Democrat Mayor Jackie Espinoza was pulled over handcuffed and booked into the county jail just this Wednesday morning.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_00]: The charges are grand theft and an organized scheme to defraud state investigators alleged $50,000 in pandemic relief grants went to businesses owned or controlled by espionosa and her family through the city's business boost program surprise.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: Surprise.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_00]: The rest half a day that identifies three awards, $20,000, $15,000 and another $15,000.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: And investigators are saying that the mayor declined to return the funds after the city attorney warned that accepting them created a prohibited conflict of interest.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_00]: So taxpayer relief money, family businesses, and a warning from the city attorney.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_00]: Those are the issues investigators are now putting before the courts.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, we could
- 5:41[SPEAKER_00]: In the city of Lawrence, Massachusetts, Democrat mayor Brian DePenia was arrested for allegedly stealing over $1.5 million in COVID relief money.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_00]: DePenia was indicted on 11 federal accounts for accounts of wire fraud and seven counts, a money laundering for allegedly obtaining over $1.5 million in COVID era economic
- 6:11[SPEAKER_00]: Massachusetts Democrats swept up in this very same scandal federal prosecutors have been died in Massachusetts state representative Francisco Polino who represents the very same district to 16th Essex district.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_00]: Polino was hit with an 11 count indictment eight counts a wire for all three counts of money laundering.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_00]: It's pretty, uh, and saying stuff in New Mexico, the former House majority leader.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_00]: Did you hurt that right?
- 6:40[SPEAKER_00]: The former House majority leader, Cheryl Williams Stapleton has just been found guilty on every single county face 37 felony charges in total.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: That includes conspiracy to defraud the United States five counts of federal program bribery.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_00]: 13 counts of mail and on a services fraud, three counts of falsifying your tax returns, and nine counts of money laundering.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_00]: And I haven't even brought up California, which is as a corrupt cesspool, nothing more than a corrupt cesspool at this point, or a Minnesota Minneapolis for that matter.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_00]: Democrats are finally being held accountable, but the bigger significance of these arrests go beyond any individual politician.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_00]: Wait until you see this.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_00]: Most people don't know this, but the older we get, the less we hold on to heat.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: So imagine being stranded in a broken down car in the middle of the night and having to walk for help, a rainstorm, even in the summer could mean hypothermia.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_00]: Having this tiny orange bag in your glove box could be the difference between life and death for you or your loved one.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_00]: Everyone always wants to know, what the heck is this?
- 7:53[SPEAKER_00]: What is in this tiny orange bag that could protect me and my family from hypothermia in a situation like that?
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: I kid you not, this is a full size, heat reflective emergency sleeping bag that actually fits in the palm of your hand.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_00]: I've literally never seen anything like this.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_00]: It's absolutely amazing and you heard that right.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_00]: It's an emergency thermal sleeping bag that can keep you warm down to Arctic temperatures.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_00]: It's waterproof, it's windproof, and bright orange so you're easy to spot in a disaster.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_00]: Emergency experts recommend having one of these on hand for every member in your family.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: It's a no-brainer survival tool that gives your loved ones a real edge in a disaster and you piece of mind knowing that there's a safety net for them in a crisis.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_00]: You won't find these in any stores, the technology that goes into these smart little bags isn't wildly available.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: Sierra Modra created this emergency sleeping bag to be small enough to fit in your pocket, your glove box, your junk drawer, your go bag.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_00]: They weigh 10 times less than a typical sleeping bag,
- 9:03[SPEAKER_00]: three feet wide, so they'll fit anyone.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: Now a typical sleeping bag crossed you up around 200 bucks, but even though these are more technologically advanced and more compact, you're gonna spend a fraction of that to get your hands on one of these today, because this week, Sierra Mondrae has to clean out their warehouse before a new shipment arrived.

- 10:07[SPEAKER_00]: While we're seeing in these arrests and indictments and in some cases convictions, it's nothing less than the end of a corruption culture and a return to what we might call an accountability culture.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: So bottom line, scholars have found that corruption becomes a culture.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_00]: when people stop expecting honesty.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_00]: So scholars of long found that systemic corruption persists in a culture, when individuals expect everyone else to participate in that corruption.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_00]: And what that means is that acting honestly can therefore seem costly and futile.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_00]: The problem is not simply bad people breaking good rules.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_00]: It's a social arrangement that makes integrity look foolish
- 10:56[SPEAKER_00]: This is one of the things that came up with the Somali fraud rings in Minneapolis.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_00]: We found out the hard way, unfortunately, that many cultural patterns specific to the nation of Somalia, particularly clan networks, informal economies, and distrust and exploitation of state institutions, traveled with the diaspora communities when they came over to the United States.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_00]: And what's so key here is that it's not just the United States that's experienced this with Somali communities.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_00]: There's a significant population, Somali's in Norway.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_00]: We're Norwegian authorities uncovered similar welfare fraud issues involving some Somali immigrants, a recent Reuters investigation documented how welfare and international aid theft.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_00]: remains a daily reality in Somalia with an entire ecosystem profiting from misappropriation involving camp owners, local officials and aid workers.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_00]: This is what we mean by a corruption culture.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_00]: Corruption is just part and parcel of the way society works and the key is that accountability begins only by breaking that expectation.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_00]: decisive reforms which often involve mass arrests can and do demonstrate that yesterday's protected behavior now carries severe consequences.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_00]: And what that does is it changes the calculations throughout society.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_00]: Think, for example, of Salvadoran president and Ibu Kelly's cracked down on gangs and drug cartels after making mass arrests by the tens of thousands
- 12:45[SPEAKER_00]: Suddenly now the Salvadoran people weren't afraid anymore of turning gang members in, or informing on their local drug dealers to authorities.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_00]: And as a result, El Salvador's government reports that violent crime and homicides have dropped more than 90% just months after Buquelli originally took office.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_00]: The comeback then.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_00]: is all about breaking the widespread expectation that corruption is normal and unassailable.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_00]: When the people see that their leaders have their backs and that they're going to enforce the values interest concerns of law abiding citizens even against corrupt leaders, corruption, culture, implodes, and that is precisely
- 13:33[SPEAKER_00]: what President Trump is bringing to our nation.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_00]: He's bringing an entire cohort of our establishment elite, particularly Democrats who thought themselves immune from accountability.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_00]: He's bringing them finally to justice.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_00]: They're finding to their horror.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_00]: that truly no one is above the law.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_00]: That is ultimately what the great worldwide populist revolt is all about.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_00]: So all about the people holding our political elite accountable to the same standards and rules that everyone else is expected to obey.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_00]: So what connects all of these arrests and indictments is the question at the heart of the populist revolt, who does government serve?
- 14:22[SPEAKER_00]: Does it serve the citizens paying the bills or does it become a network of offices, relationships, and financial opportunities for the people already in the inside?
- 14:33[SPEAKER_00]: That's the establishment problem.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_00]: Not expertise, not experience, the idea that access to power should purchase protection from consequences.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_00]: The idea that ordinary Americans have obligations while insiders have only explanations.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_00]: For anyone in the political establishment who thought connections made them untouchable, the message now should be absolutely unmistakable.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_00]: Your office is not your property.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_00]: Public money is not your inheritance, and public trust is not permission to enrich yourself.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_00]: That's the promise of the populist revolt, government returned to its proper place beneath the people, not above them, not revenge, accountability, not special privileges, one standard, and no political title, powerful enough to make the questions.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_00]: Disappeared.
