- 1:26Speaker 2: need to actually do that to remind myself that I
- 1:29Speaker 2: actually am pretty handy in the kitchen. I'm not on

- 5:00Speaker 2: both a masterpiece and a work in progress. You're allowed
- 5:05Speaker 2: to be both a masterpiece and a work in progress.
- 5:09Speaker 2: You know why this is important. I think this is
- 5:11Speaker 2: important because growth and self worth can coexist. They can
- 5:16Speaker 2: exist at the same time. So while you're a work
- 5:20Speaker 2: in progress, you're also a masterpiece, but you're becoming better
- 5:24Speaker 2: and that's why the work continues. Keep that in mind

- 5:46Speaker 3: Okay, so we didn't talk about this yesterday, but you've
- 5:50Speaker 3: been going to physical therapy and you really had to
- 5:52Speaker 3: put your knee to the test with bleachers.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Huh.
- 5:57Speaker 3: You haven't quite explained how you navigated and if you
- 6:00Speaker 3: feel proud of yourself for going up and down those
- 6:03Speaker 3: things you're.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Talking about while we were over at the cherry blossom
- 6:07Speaker 2: parade and over the weekend, I know, our little perch. Yes,
- 6:11Speaker 2: that's a big test for you.
- 6:12Speaker 3: So you're gonna have to tell us how you're feeling
- 6:14Speaker 3: here a couple of days out afterwards.
- 6:16Speaker 2: All right, well we can get into that. Coming up
- 6:19Speaker 2: next is Toba. Chilly in the Morning continues to stay
- 6:21Speaker 2: with us. Good morning, Thanks for waking up with Toby
- 6:23Speaker 2: and Chilly in the morning ninety seven point one washch FM.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Thank you so much for letting us be a part
- 6:29Speaker 2: of your life as we get a new day started
- 6:32Speaker 2: here in the nation's capital.
- 6:33Speaker 3: Now. I didn't get to talk about this with you yesterday,
- 6:35Speaker 3: but on Saturday, you and I amc the National Cherry
- 6:38Speaker 3: Blossom Festival Parade. Yes, and we do this every year.
- 6:41Speaker 3: We've been doing it for almost a decade now. And
- 6:44Speaker 3: there are bleachers that we are stationed at the top
- 6:47Speaker 3: of and since you've had three knee surgeries of course
- 6:52Speaker 3: of seven months.
- 6:53Speaker 4: And that you use a roll later to get by.
- 6:56Speaker 3: I was really concerned about how you were going to
- 6:59Speaker 3: navigate gate those bleachers, and you did, But I didn't
- 7:02Speaker 3: ask you how you felt going up and down with
- 7:05Speaker 3: that cane of yours.
- 7:07Speaker 4: How did it go?
- 7:07Speaker 2: I felt accomplished.
- 7:09Speaker 4: Oh good.
- 7:09Speaker 2: I also prepared for the fact that I knew I
- 7:12Speaker 2: needed to navigate those bleachers. The last time I really
- 7:15Speaker 2: had a hard time navigating anything reminded that's remotely like
- 7:18Speaker 2: stairs was around my birthday in December, when my significant
- 7:22Speaker 2: other and I went to Filhmina and Georgetown. It's an
- 7:25Speaker 2: Italian place. If you've bidden, you know that there's stairs, Yeah,
- 7:28Speaker 2: a lot of them. And I know that getting down
- 7:31Speaker 2: the stairs for me is easier than getting up. Okay,
- 7:34Speaker 2: getting up the stairs requires different like muscle groups. My
- 7:37Speaker 2: you know, left knee is still healing. Yeah, And the
- 7:41Speaker 2: first couple of steps were tough, but then I was
- 7:43Speaker 2: able to get that bar, you know what I mean,
- 7:46Speaker 2: the railing, Yes, and I used that to help myself
- 7:49Speaker 2: stay balanced into position and pull myself up a little
- 7:52Speaker 2: bit if I need be. Made it to the top,
- 7:54Speaker 2: got over to where we needed to be, and I
- 7:55Speaker 2: sat down and I said, I'm gonna camp out right here,
- 8:00Speaker 2: and you did till we're done.
- 8:02Speaker 3: And I love how you've been consistently going to physical
- 8:05Speaker 3: therapy and that they knew that you had some bleachers
- 8:09Speaker 3: that you had to navigate. So I'm guessing that you
- 8:11Speaker 3: guys sort of practiced a bit right.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Yeah. My physical therapist, my primary one, her name is Brittany,
- 8:17Speaker 2: and she made it a point to put me through
- 8:20Speaker 2: my paces as it were, and so chilly after training,
- 8:23Speaker 2: like Rocky Balboa when he was taken on Ivan Virago
- 8:27Speaker 2: and Rocky, what was it for? I was ready to
- 8:29Speaker 2: go conquered the day and I feel very accomplished.
- 8:33Speaker 4: We're very proud of you, John.
- 8:35Speaker 2: I'm very thankful that they had a cart there at
- 8:37Speaker 2: the end to take me over to where I ended
- 8:39Speaker 2: up meeting an uber to get home some random hotel
- 8:42Speaker 2: near the parade route.
- 8:44Speaker 4: Still a big miles, don't it.

- 12:16Speaker 2: us the story of her three year old that's got
- 12:19Speaker 2: a potty mouth? Did your kid have a potty mouth?
- 12:23Speaker 2: Where did your kid learn to say these words? Where
- 12:26Speaker 2: did your kid pick up these words? We'll get into
- 12:29Speaker 2: this coming up in just a few Stay with us.
- 12:31Speaker 2: I can still hear someone I dated's daughter who was
- 12:34Speaker 2: a little bitty at the time, saying, you've got a
- 12:36Speaker 2: potty mouth. You've got a potty mouth. Toby and Chilly
- 12:39Speaker 2: in the Morning, ninety seven point one wash FM. Where
- 12:42Speaker 2: did your kid pick up and their potty mouth from?
- 12:45Speaker 3: Yeah, there's a woman who's very frustrated on TikTok who
- 12:49Speaker 3: says that her three year old keeps dropping the F
- 12:51Speaker 3: bomb whoa And the problem is she and her husband
- 12:54Speaker 3: do not use that kind of language at home. So
- 12:57Speaker 3: what is she getting it from daycare, which that's not
- 12:59Speaker 3: good of that's the case.
- 13:00Speaker 2: No, I mean that is he's kind of baffled. What
- 13:03Speaker 2: really blows my mind is how young the kid is.
- 13:06Speaker 3: I mean, well, kids will repeat what they hear, which
- 13:09Speaker 3: is the mom's point, right, where is she hearing this word?
- 13:13Speaker 2: If you got thoughts eight sixty six nine two seven
- 13:15Speaker 2: forty three sixty one, or tap the talk back microphone
- 13:18Speaker 2: if you're signed in listening on your iHeart app Chili
- 13:20Speaker 2: dinadowas howled.
- 13:21Speaker 3: Now he's twelve and he's never uttered a bad word. Wow,
- 13:25Speaker 3: I'm impressed. I genuinely am impressed. He uttered some of
- 13:28Speaker 3: those colorful metaphors around him or I have once in
- 13:31Speaker 3: a while, but he just knows that he's not allowed
- 13:34Speaker 3: to say any of those bad words, and he doesn't
- 13:38Speaker 3: even though he goes to school with kids I'm sure
- 13:40Speaker 3: curse because at twelve they really start to experiment, sure
- 13:44Speaker 3: with the language a bit in their vocabulary.
- 13:46Speaker 2: I heard that word on CNN. It's gotta be okay, Well,
- 13:50Speaker 2: the teacher will be quick to let you know. It's
- 13:51Speaker 2: not Kyla our daughter. I think she picked it up
- 13:54Speaker 2: from us. Absolutely, we were not super sticklers. About some
- 13:59Speaker 2: of the language we use. Does she grew up? We
- 14:01Speaker 2: were aware of it when she was little bitty, when
- 14:04Speaker 2: she was a toddler, But then parental fatigue sets in
- 14:07Speaker 2: and you just start slipping, and then well you start
- 14:10Speaker 2: hearing it said back to you, Where did your kid
- 14:12Speaker 2: pick up their potty mouth from? You have thoughts? We'll
- 14:14Speaker 2: talk more about this coming up in just minutes as
- 14:16Speaker 2: Toby and Chilly in the Morning continue Where did your

- 14:28Speaker 2: variety of the eighties, nineties, and today.

- 14:33Speaker 3: who does not understand where her three year old learned
- 14:36Speaker 3: the F word, because she and her husband do not
- 14:39Speaker 3: use that kind of language at home.
- 14:41Speaker 2: So let's search our hearts parents and then give us
- 14:44Speaker 2: a call eight sixty six nine two seven forty three
- 14:46Speaker 2: sixty one so we can talk about it. In Rockville. Jessica,
- 14:50Speaker 2: so where did your kid pick up the potty mouth from?
- 14:53Speaker 4: I blind daycare for months month? How do you know
- 14:55Speaker 4: it wasn't daycare.
- 14:57Speaker 3: One day, I stub my toe and let out a
- 14:59Speaker 3: very passionate words, and from the other room, I just
- 15:02Speaker 3: hear my kid go oh that's.
- 15:03Speaker 4: A new one. Ooh busted. Yeah. It turns out daycare
- 15:08Speaker 4: is innocent and I'm the problem.
- 15:10Speaker 2: And the fact that you can admit that is the
- 15:13Speaker 2: first step in overcoming that problem. Jessica and Rockville, thank
- 15:17Speaker 2: you now to Ashbourne. Good morning, Ron. So where'd your
- 15:20Speaker 2: kid pick up the potty mouth from?
- 15:21Speaker 4: My parents?
- 15:22Speaker 2: Cursed? I gets to their religion.
- 15:23Speaker 4: I talked to them about it, but it's hard to
- 15:25Speaker 4: change on someone that age talked So do they come
- 15:27Speaker 4: home repeating those words?
- 15:29Speaker 2: My kids have repeated a few things, but we've been
- 15:31Speaker 2: pretty much on top of it. And that's really all
- 15:34Speaker 2: you can do, Ron Chilly. You just try to stay
- 15:37Speaker 2: aware of what it is you're saying, knowing that your
- 15:39Speaker 2: little ones will indeed parent you at some point in time.
