- 0:39Speaker 1: Vegas next year. These are the prices for people attending
- 0:43Speaker 1: both nights, and they don't include ticket Master fees, so
- 0:46Speaker 1: keep that in mind. Section A one on the floor
- 0:50Speaker 1: will only set you back nine thousand dollars. Section B
- 0:55Speaker 1: on the floor nearly four thousand dollars. The one hundred
- 0:59Speaker 1: level seat ranges from fourteen ninety five down to one thousand,
- 1:03Speaker 1: one hundred and seventy four dollars. Two hundred level ranges
- 1:07Speaker 1: from thirteen hundred down to eleven hundred and seventy four dollars.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Three hundred level seating eleven seventy four eighty and four
- 1:17Speaker 1: hundred level seating a mere eight hundred and fifty four
- 1:20Speaker 1: dollars and fifteen cents. But then you got the sweets.
- 1:24Speaker 1: It's all about the sweets. The cheapest one, a corner suite,
- 1:29Speaker 1: comes in at a cool twenty two thousand dollars. You
- 1:32Speaker 1: can get a club suite, which includes twelve seats in
- 1:35Speaker 1: an open bar, for twenty six thousand, five hundred dollars.
- 1:39Speaker 1: There's a more traditional suite that seats twenty six people,
- 1:42Speaker 1: which goes for thirty eight thousand dollars. Or you can
- 1:46Speaker 1: spring for the owner suitet package, all inclusive with twenty
- 1:50Speaker 1: six tickets, which will set you back a mere fifty
- 1:53Speaker 1: two thousand, five hundred dollars. Hey, you know, if we
- 1:57Speaker 1: get our own SoundOff suite at that price, divided up
- 2:00Speaker 1: amongst all twenty six of us, that comes out to
- 2:03Speaker 1: two thousand dollars a pop. I'm sure you've got that
- 2:06Speaker 1: laying around right. Who's with me? Of course, that two
- 2:09Speaker 1: grand doesn't include airfare, hotel, ground, transportation of food. But
- 2:13Speaker 1: what the hell I mean, just tack on another two
- 2:15Speaker 1: or three grand? What's the big deal. Don't be such
- 2:17Speaker 1: a cheap bastard. It's WrestleMania, baby, This is sound Off
- 2:23Speaker 1: Episode nine thirty one for Sunday, September twenty eighth, twenty
- 2:26Speaker 1: twenty five. I am the Solemn Monster. This show doesn't

- 2:35Speaker 1: a sound Off VIP, you can always make a PayPal
- 2:38Speaker 1: donation of ten dollars or more to get yourself a
- 2:40Speaker 1: nickname and a shout out here on this very show.
- 2:43Speaker 1: I want to say thank you to the Portland pop
- 2:46Speaker 1: star all the way across the country, our friend Paul Hamilton, Paul,
- 2:49Speaker 1: thank you very much, Big b Bryant, Bessera, the Diamond,
- 2:53Speaker 1: Dallas Dance Machine, Harrison Soep, Velvet Revolver, Robert Murray, The
- 2:58Speaker 1: Chicago Slayer, Willie I, Night Stalker, nif Al Safar Killshot,
- 3:03Speaker 1: Keith Hart, invest in the Game, Trey Porter. I also
- 3:08Speaker 1: want to wish a happy fortieth birthday to Chris from Bethlehem,
- 3:13Speaker 1: Bro Chris turns the Big Four to Row on Monday.
- 3:18Speaker 1: And I also want to wish a very happy birthday
- 3:20Speaker 1: to Matt. His name is not Matt, but we'll call
- 3:23Speaker 1: him Matt to protect his identity. Like he's in witness protection.
- 3:28Speaker 1: But I've been friends with this guy since high school.
- 3:30Speaker 1: What was that like fifty years ago? Now feels like it.
- 3:35Speaker 1: But he is one of my oldest friends. He is
- 3:36Speaker 1: my best friend, and I hope that he has himself
- 3:39Speaker 1: a great day. The next House of Glory show is
- 3:43Speaker 1: coming up quick with Glory comes Pride Friday night, October tenth.
- 3:47Speaker 1: The first five rows are already sold out. This is
- 3:50Speaker 1: the first time I could remember that we have actually
- 3:52Speaker 1: had to add a sixth row for a show. Sixth
- 3:56Speaker 1: row seats are still available for now, probably not from
- 4:00Speaker 1: much longer, and of course general admission is available. This
- 4:03Speaker 1: is going to end up being our biggest show of
- 4:04Speaker 1: the year, and we are not done yet. We are
- 4:07Speaker 1: hosting a special super Clash as part of the Big
- 4:10Speaker 1: Event Expo coming up in Brentwood, New York, Saturday, November fifteenth.
- 4:15Speaker 1: That's going to be our long Island debut with the
- 4:18Speaker 1: debut also of Andrade, his first domestic India appear and
- 4:23Speaker 1: since leaving WWE, at least the first one that's been announced.
- 4:27Speaker 1: And hey, you know, Brett hard and Bill Goldberg are
- 4:29Speaker 1: both signing at the Big Event that day. Maybe I
- 4:32Speaker 1: could get them both into the ring together at the
- 4:34Speaker 1: Hog Show. I feel like I'd be brokering peace in
- 4:37Speaker 1: the Middle East between these two. Then that Friday, less
- 4:42Speaker 1: than a week later, November twenty first, we returned to Chicago,
- 4:46Speaker 1: and we are going to be announcing our plans very
- 4:48Speaker 1: soon for our December show closing out the year. So
- 4:52Speaker 1: I hope to see you at all the shows. But
- 4:54Speaker 1: you can go to Hog Wrestling dot Net to buy
- 4:57Speaker 1: tickets to whatever show you wish. Coming off a less
- 5:02Speaker 1: than stellar ESPN debut last weekend, there was a lot
- 5:06Speaker 1: of hoopla this week about Andreas Hale, a combat sports
- 5:10Speaker 1: writer for ESPN, who gave the show a C grade,
- 5:14Speaker 1: which is an accurate grade by the way, C C plus.
- 5:19Speaker 1: I might even be generous and go B minus, but
- 5:21Speaker 1: it's somewhere in that range. I mean, you get no
- 5:23Speaker 1: argument from me, But this is someone who writes for ESPN.
- 5:28Speaker 1: WWE's new media rights partner, a partner that shelled out
- 5:31Speaker 1: over a billion dollars for the rights to air these
- 5:33Speaker 1: pls for the next five years, and people absolutely lost
- 5:37Speaker 1: their minds over this. He praised the women's championship match
- 5:41Speaker 1: between Stephanie Vicaire and Eo sky As did. I it
- 5:44Speaker 1: was the best thing on the entire show, but he
- 5:46Speaker 1: said everything else was either underwhelming or just to set
- 5:49Speaker 1: up for a future match. I thought the Mixtag team
- 5:53Speaker 1: match was fun for what it was. It wasn't outstanding
- 5:55Speaker 1: or anything. It was very long, but it was a
- 5:58Speaker 1: fun match. He gave brock Lesnar against John Cena a
- 6:02Speaker 1: C minus bron Breaker and Bronson Reid against the USOS
- 6:06Speaker 1: he gave a C. The Women's World title match he
- 6:09Speaker 1: gave a B plus the Mixtag match with cmpunk at
- 6:12Speaker 1: aj Lee against Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch, he gave
- 6:15Speaker 1: that a C. And the Cody Rhods Drew MacIntire main event,
- 6:18Speaker 1: he gave that a C. He said the women's match
- 6:20Speaker 1: saved this show from being truly average, and that for
- 6:24Speaker 1: a card that promised to have epic moments, it fell
- 6:26Speaker 1: a little short of expectations, which is what happens when
- 6:30Speaker 1: you use a lot of hyperbole to really hype up
- 6:34Speaker 1: a show like this and then deliver the show that
- 6:36Speaker 1: they did. They have nobody to blame for that but
- 6:39Speaker 1: themselves as far as the way people felt about it,
- 6:42Speaker 1: and if they don't like what people are saying about
- 6:44Speaker 1: it they should look in the mirror. There were a
- 6:47Speaker 1: lot of fans who agreed with him, but also a
- 6:49Speaker 1: lot of fans the tribalists, who lost their minds over
- 6:53Speaker 1: all this, and they couldn't believe that ESPN would post
- 6:56Speaker 1: something critical on their main page, right since they worked
- 7:01Speaker 1: together with WWE. Even though before the show one of
- 7:04Speaker 1: the ESPN executives said that it's wrestling writers would have
- 7:07Speaker 1: full independence in their coverage and there would be a
- 7:10Speaker 1: separation of church and state. You had jbl on his
- 7:15Speaker 1: Something to Wrestle podcast, which is basically his now since
- 7:18Speaker 1: Bruce Prichard clearly does not want to go back to
- 7:20Speaker 1: work and do it anymore. He actually said the writer
- 7:23Speaker 1: should have found a way to get creative and give
- 7:25Speaker 1: the show an a grade whether they believed it or not,
- 7:30Speaker 1: because this was their big debut on ESPN and they
- 7:32Speaker 1: shouldn't be criticizing the show or have someone writing on
- 7:36Speaker 1: their behalf criticizing the show. He really said this, He
- 7:40Speaker 1: said the quiet part out loud. I almost have I
- 7:43Speaker 1: have to hand it to him. I have to respect
- 7:44Speaker 1: him for saying the quiet part out loud, because you
- 7:48Speaker 1: know there are people in that company that share that
- 7:50Speaker 1: same opinion. I bet his life on it. He said
- 7:54Speaker 1: that when that's the first thing people see on the
- 7:56Speaker 1: website for the company paying hundreds of millions of dollars
- 7:59Speaker 1: for the pro I just don't think that looks good. Yeah,
- 8:04Speaker 1: no shit, Then put out a better product. What he's
- 8:09Speaker 1: saying is lie and pretend that it was a great
- 8:12Speaker 1: show even if you think it wasn't. If ESPN believes
- 8:17Speaker 1: would they say, and they said there would be a
- 8:19Speaker 1: separation of church and state in its coverage, then this
- 8:22Speaker 1: is what their coverage is supposed to look like. They
- 8:25Speaker 1: want it to at least come off like their coverage
- 8:27Speaker 1: is independent and fair and honest, whereas JBL is looking
- 8:32Speaker 1: at it simply as a business relationship. It's a product.
- 8:36Speaker 1: If you want it covered like a real sport, that's
- 8:38Speaker 1: not how this works. However much money ESPN might be
- 8:41Speaker 1: paying out to Major League Baseball or the NFL for
- 8:45Speaker 1: the games that they carry, if there's a major story
- 8:47Speaker 1: about either league that paints them in a bad light,
- 8:50Speaker 1: write some controversy about steroids or concussions or what have you,
- 8:54Speaker 1: they would have writers covering that story and amplifying that story,
- 8:58Speaker 1: no matter how badly the league might come across. That's
- 9:01Speaker 1: how it's supposed to work if you want to be
- 9:04Speaker 1: taken seriously. Evidently JBL doesn't feel that's important. And I'm
- 9:09Speaker 1: not saying ESPN would cover WWE that way. If there
- 9:13Speaker 1: was a big story that paints a WWE in a
- 9:15Speaker 1: bad light, like the Janelle Grant stuff or some other
- 9:17Speaker 1: big lawsuit that gets filed against the company, it's entirely
- 9:20Speaker 1: possible they would downplay it and they wouldn't give it
- 9:22Speaker 1: the coverage that it deserves. Time will tell how much
- 9:26Speaker 1: they really believe in Church and State when that happens.
- 9:30Speaker 1: But when it comes to these shows, it was a
- 9:32Speaker 1: breath of fresh air that they didn't pull the review
- 9:34Speaker 1: or they didn't try to hide it when he posted it.
- 9:37Speaker 1: It was refreshing to see it's still only one man's opinion,
- 9:42Speaker 1: just like when Dave Meltzer he drops his star ratings
- 9:44Speaker 1: for a show. It's one man's opinion and everybody loses
- 9:48Speaker 1: their minds over it. But his voice carries more weight
- 9:52Speaker 1: than most because he's been covering wrestling for over forty years.
- 9:56Speaker 1: The Observer was the standard for wrestling news for a
- 9:59Speaker 1: long time, so if you're in the wrestling bubble. You
- 10:03Speaker 1: probably know who Dave Meltzer is. You've at least heard
- 10:05Speaker 1: the name before. It's still just one man's opinion. I mean, look,
- 10:09Speaker 1: he just posted his star ratings for aw all Out
- 10:12Speaker 1: Okay in the last newsletter. I thought some of the
- 10:15Speaker 1: ratings were completely ridiculous. I mean, once he broke the
- 10:19Speaker 1: five star scale years ago, the whole thing became laughable
- 10:22Speaker 1: to me, like he ruined it, absolutely ruined it. But
- 10:26Speaker 1: that's his scale. If he wants to ruin it, that's
- 10:29Speaker 1: his prerogative. He can do that. But then I see
- 10:32Speaker 1: Dustin Rhodes quote tweeting the ratings and then posting that's
- 10:35Speaker 1: why we at ae W are the best, you know
- 10:39Speaker 1: damn well, if Meltzer would have posted something negative about
- 10:43Speaker 1: a Dustin Rhodes match, he'd be the first person tweeting
- 10:46Speaker 1: Dave asking if he's ever taken a bump before in
- 10:49Speaker 1: his life? You know, talk shit when you lace up
- 10:51Speaker 1: a pair of boots, Mark. But what I mean it's
- 10:55Speaker 1: like it's one person's opinion, but when that person writes
- 10:59Speaker 1: for ESPN, in the eyes of everyone, it becomes ESPN's opinion.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Right they've co signed it. They've endorsed it that Wressell
- 11:08Speaker 1: Palooza wasn't a great show, not really, But like, you
- 11:12Speaker 1: know what, if that's how people look at it, that
- 11:14Speaker 1: it's ESPN's opinion. If that's what gets WWE's attention, then good.
- 11:18Speaker 1: I hope it does get their attention, you know. On
- 11:21Speaker 1: Wressel Votes Radio, they claim that people within WWE didn't
- 11:23Speaker 1: expect ESPN to go out of its way to publish
- 11:26Speaker 1: such a low rating for the event, especially since this
- 11:28Speaker 1: was their debut on the platform, and backstage, the feeling
- 11:32Speaker 1: was that Wressell Palooza was no different than any other
- 11:34Speaker 1: pl which honestly is part of the fucking problem. But
- 11:40Speaker 1: to them, it made it feel like the C grade
- 11:42Speaker 1: was unusually critical, and the backstage reaction, they say, highlighted
- 11:46Speaker 1: a sense of confusion, as many assumed that ESPN would
- 11:49Speaker 1: treat the show more favorably given the significance of the partnership. Instead,
- 11:54Speaker 1: the review created a wave of discussion online, with fans
- 11:58Speaker 1: and critics debating whether the grade was too harsh or
- 12:01Speaker 1: an honest assessment of the event. Yes, it was an
- 12:04Speaker 1: honest assessment. It's an assessment that I happened to share
- 12:10Speaker 1: now We know Paul Levic doesn't give a shit about
- 12:12Speaker 1: what the critics have to say and what shows like
- 12:15Speaker 1: this have to say, because he made that very clear
- 12:17Speaker 1: earlier this year around WrestleMania time. If you remember that
- 12:20Speaker 1: interview where he sat down with Peter Rosenberg and he said,
- 12:23Speaker 1: this is going to sound defensive, because it did. He
- 12:28Speaker 1: was sounding very defensive when he said this, but he said,
- 12:31Speaker 1: I wish I could tell people fuck off being a critic,
- 12:36Speaker 1: be a fan. Go watch this and be a fan.
- 12:40Speaker 1: So what he's telling you is that you should not
- 12:43Speaker 1: be watching WWE and thinking critically about the show that
- 12:47Speaker 1: you're watching. You know, there are fans that aren't a
- 12:50Speaker 1: part of the online discourse. Maybe they watch casually, maybe
- 12:54Speaker 1: they watched with their kids. Right, that's fine, all different
- 12:58Speaker 1: kinds of fans who watch for all different types of
- 13:00Speaker 1: some longtime fans, some newer fans. But it's the ones
- 13:03Speaker 1: that dare say anything critical about the product. It's really
- 13:08Speaker 1: something to hear the chief content officer admitting that. You know,
- 13:11Speaker 1: what he really wants to do is tell all of
- 13:13Speaker 1: those people to fuck off. You know, I enjoy talking
- 13:17Speaker 1: about wrestling. As if you couldn't tell I've been doing
- 13:20Speaker 1: it long enough. I enjoy interacting with other fans most
- 13:23Speaker 1: of the time on social media and in the YouTube chats.
- 13:28Speaker 1: There are things I like, there are things I don't like,
- 13:31Speaker 1: and the things that people don't like often get amplified
- 13:34Speaker 1: more than the things that they do. That's just the
- 13:36Speaker 1: nature of the Internet. Like I'll do a video praising
- 13:39Speaker 1: something or praising someone and it'll get five thousand views.
- 13:44Speaker 1: I do one segment talking about Brett Hart burying people
- 13:48Speaker 1: and it gets forty thousand views. It's like, that's just
- 13:51Speaker 1: how it is. You look at cable news. Actually, don't
- 13:55Speaker 1: look at cable news. It's fucking horrendous. But if you
- 13:58Speaker 1: do look at it, or really just the news in
- 14:00Speaker 1: general these days, it's probably ninety percent negative. You know,
- 14:04Speaker 1: fifteen people got shot, this person is embroiled in a
- 14:07Speaker 1: sex scandal. Hurricane Jerry just wiped out five cities and
- 14:11Speaker 1: is headed for New York. Russia and Ukraine are still
- 14:13Speaker 1: bombing each other. Unemployment was up again this week, Like
- 14:17Speaker 1: I feel like I'm singing a Billy Joel song here.
- 14:19Speaker 1: But then in the last five minutes of the newscast,
- 14:22Speaker 1: We've got a heartwarming story about an eight year old
- 14:24Speaker 1: boy who runs his own lemonade stand and the lemons
- 14:27Speaker 1: he uses might hold the cure for cancer. This is
- 14:30Speaker 1: the world we live in. This is what sells. I
- 14:34Speaker 1: try not being overly negative, because there's enough negativity in
- 14:37Speaker 1: this world. Wrestling should be an escape from all that.
- 14:40Speaker 1: But I'm not gonna sugarcoat shit, and nobody else should
- 14:43Speaker 1: feel compelled to do so either, no matter what outlet
- 14:46Speaker 1: they work for. It doesn't mean that you're gonna spoon
- 14:50Speaker 1: feed me even when it tastes bad, and I'm gonna say, oh,
- 14:53Speaker 1: thank you, May I have another scoop? He went through
- 14:58Speaker 1: his honeymoon phase Triple H did, and that was only
- 15:00Speaker 1: going to last so long. Now that people are being
- 15:03Speaker 1: more critical about what they see week to week on
- 15:05Speaker 1: these shows, his natural instinct is to tell those people
- 15:08Speaker 1: to fuck off. He probably wanted to tell ESPN the
- 15:11Speaker 1: same thing this week, but ESPN may be the one
- 15:14Speaker 1: party here that he can't tell to go fuck off.
- 15:17Speaker 1: He'll just need to do better next time, and if
- 15:20Speaker 1: articles like that one, if reviews like that one, help
- 15:23Speaker 1: make for a better show next time, then everyone should
- 15:26Speaker 1: be cheering that, not bashing the man for his opinion.
- 15:31Speaker 1: We got some news from fight Full Select and from
- 15:34Speaker 1: Body slam Down Net this week pertaining to Wrestle Palooza.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Per Fightful Select, ESPN wanted a big title match like
- 15:42Speaker 1: Cody Rhoades against Drew McIntyre to close the show, which
- 15:45Speaker 1: is why it went on last. That should be a
- 15:48Speaker 1: huge red flag to anybody listening to this that ESPN
- 15:51Speaker 1: is dictating anything related to how the shows are structured.
- 15:54Speaker 1: It's one thing to have an independent writer on behalf
- 15:57Speaker 1: of ESPN reviewing the show and saying he didn't like
- 15:59Speaker 1: this for that, but when the network itself, with the
- 16:01Speaker 1: company itself, is dictating, hey, put this match here and
- 16:04Speaker 1: you know, let's use this person. Let's not do this,
- 16:07Speaker 1: I'm sorry. That's a huge red flag. They said, ESPN
- 16:11Speaker 1: wanted the pomp and circumstance surrounding a world title match,
- 16:14Speaker 1: and that's the reason why the match went on last,
- 16:16Speaker 1: not because Brock Lesner wanted to fly out early to
- 16:20Speaker 1: get home to Saskatchewan. Thank god Lesnar has seen it
- 16:24Speaker 1: didn't close the show with that dog shit finish. The
- 16:28Speaker 1: Mixtag team match should have closed the show. I said
- 16:30Speaker 1: that that night, the Mixtag team match should have been
- 16:32Speaker 1: the final match on that show. If they had no
- 16:34Speaker 1: big finish or angle planned for the title match, the
- 16:37Speaker 1: mixtag should have closed the show, so I can totally
- 16:40Speaker 1: believe that the only reason it didn't was because ESPN
- 16:43Speaker 1: wanted it that way. Now, perbodyslam dot Net, both Cody
- 16:47Speaker 1: Rhoads and Drew McIntyre pitched a different direction behind the
- 16:51Speaker 1: scenes for how their match would go. Their idea would
- 16:54Speaker 1: have seen Randy Orton accidentally cost Cody the WWE Championship,
- 17:00Speaker 1: then would have led to Cody chasing again to get
- 17:02Speaker 1: the belt back, and upon reclaiming it from McIntyre, Randy
- 17:06Speaker 1: Orton would then turn on him after the match. That
- 17:10Speaker 1: is a much better idea than what they ended up
- 17:12Speaker 1: going with, which was a much more straightforward finish where
- 17:16Speaker 1: really McIntyre beat himself. He beat himself, he kicked a
- 17:20Speaker 1: desk and hurt his foot, so Cody Roads took advantage
- 17:23Speaker 1: and he beat him the same way. He took advantage
- 17:25Speaker 1: of a mistake that Randy Orton made in their King
- 17:27Speaker 1: of the Ring match, and he beat him there too.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Cody's whole stick is capitalizing off of other people's mistakes
- 17:33Speaker 1: to win matches. When he finished his story last year WrestleMania.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Roman Reigns had a choice. He had the chair in
- 17:40Speaker 1: his head. He could use the chair on Cody or
- 17:42Speaker 1: he could use it on seth Rawlins. He opted to
- 17:45Speaker 1: hit Rollins with the chair, and in the end it
- 17:47Speaker 1: cost him. That's another example, but that would have been
- 17:51Speaker 1: a much better way to go with the finish of
- 17:53Speaker 1: that first big ESPN show. Right, you want a big
- 17:55Speaker 1: title match in the main event, how about a big
- 17:58Speaker 1: title change in the main event, and then at Survivor
- 18:02Speaker 1: Series or at the Royal Rumble, Cody wins the belt back,
- 18:06Speaker 1: but Randy Orton goes heel on him, and we get
- 18:08Speaker 1: Cody defending against Randy Orton at WrestleMania. I mean, Cody's
- 18:12Speaker 1: been back in the company almost four years now and
- 18:14Speaker 1: I'm still sitting here talking about a possible feud with
- 18:17Speaker 1: Brandy Orton. So they can still do this. They still
- 18:21Speaker 1: have a chance. Book a triple threat match for a
- 18:24Speaker 1: Survivor Series with Cody, Randy, and Drew and have Drew
- 18:28Speaker 1: win the title there. Don't be afraid to shake things
- 18:31Speaker 1: up a bit. There's some good stories that could come
- 18:33Speaker 1: out of this. The Body Slam also reported that As
- 18:38Speaker 1: of late Saturday morning, the day of the show, WWE
- 18:42Speaker 1: was planning to have John Cena beat brock Lesner at
- 18:45Speaker 1: Wreussell Palooza, and it's unknown what happened to cause such
- 18:49Speaker 1: a sudden and major creative shift. Now. Meltzer, for his part,
- 18:54Speaker 1: claims that he was told that that is not the
- 18:56Speaker 1: case and Lesner was not brought back to lose in
- 18:59Speaker 1: his match. Now, of course, I thought the same thing
- 19:02Speaker 1: in twenty twelve when they brought him back to the
- 19:04Speaker 1: company and they beat him in his very first match
- 19:06Speaker 1: back against John Cena at extreme rules, So believe what
- 19:10Speaker 1: you wish. I always figured Lesner was winning that match,
- 19:14Speaker 1: but I would not have done the match in the
- 19:16Speaker 1: first place. They wanted one more John Cena brock Lesner match,
- 19:20Speaker 1: or maybe Sena wanted it, but what we got was
- 19:24Speaker 1: the worst of all the matches they've ever had. But
- 19:27Speaker 1: you would watch that match and figure out now we
- 19:30Speaker 1: know who John Cena's final opponent is going to be.
- 19:33Speaker 1: It's brock Lesner. They're gonna do the Rocky comeback story
- 19:37Speaker 1: with Sina where he slays the Beast in his retirement
- 19:40Speaker 1: match and he gets a big win and he rides
- 19:42Speaker 1: off into the sunset. But Brian Alvarez is reporting that
- 19:45Speaker 1: he's been told there will be no rematch with brock
- 19:47Speaker 1: Lesner and John Cena, that the match we saw at
- 19:51Speaker 1: Wresselled Palooza was their last match together singles match. Anyway,
- 19:56Speaker 1: it is always a chance they could end up in
- 19:58Speaker 1: war games against each other. So now that finish makes
- 20:01Speaker 1: even less sense if this is true. Now, I'm not
- 20:05Speaker 1: clamoring for another match between brock Lesner and John Cena.
- 20:09Speaker 1: So if that was really it for them, that's music
- 20:11Speaker 1: to my ears. But as dumb as that finish was,
- 20:14Speaker 1: it's even dumber now in hindsight. If that turns out
- 20:17Speaker 1: to be true, let's just kill John Cena and we'll
- 20:21Speaker 1: waste the match on this retirement tour to make brock
- 20:23Speaker 1: Lesner look strong. As if this was needed to make
- 20:27Speaker 1: brock Lesner look strong, they've been making brock Lesnar look
- 20:30Speaker 1: strong for fucking eleven years, twelve years, thirteen year, what's
- 20:34Speaker 1: it been twenty twelve he came back, thirteen fucking years.
- 20:37Speaker 1: They've been making brock Lesner look strong. Yeah, let's make
- 20:41Speaker 1: brock look strong by beating the forty eight year old
- 20:43Speaker 1: who's retiring because his body can't take it anymore. That'll
- 20:46Speaker 1: make him look super strong. So this talk of bron
- 20:51Speaker 1: Breaker as a potential opponent for Lesner next year, maybe
- 20:55Speaker 1: even as soon as WrestleMania, the move for WrestleMania would
- 20:59Speaker 1: probably be Brock Lesner and Gunther because that's the match
- 21:02Speaker 1: they were gonna do two years ago, So we know
- 21:04Speaker 1: it's on their mind either that or Lesner and Breaker. Now,
- 21:08Speaker 1: if you gave me the choice of picking one, I'm
- 21:10Speaker 1: going Brock Lesner and bron Breaker. That match intrigues me
- 21:13Speaker 1: way more, and it's a match that would benefit Breaker
- 21:17Speaker 1: in a way that it wouldn't benefit Gunther, who's not
- 21:20Speaker 1: beating Brock. Okay, I mean two years ago, I would
- 21:23Speaker 1: have said yes, especially when the Intercontinental title might have
- 21:27Speaker 1: been on the line. Brock should not be beating Gunther. Now,
- 21:30Speaker 1: I think if they did the match, Gunther is gonna lose.
- 21:32Speaker 1: Breaker losing in a competitive match with Brock Lesner it
- 21:35Speaker 1: wouldn't damage him much. But Breaker beating brock Lesner that
- 21:39Speaker 1: would mean far more to his career than losing in
- 21:42Speaker 1: a competitive match would. Now, after being slaughtered at wrestled Palooza,
- 21:47Speaker 1: johnsen His opponent for Crown Jewel next month has been revealed,
- 21:51Speaker 1: and it is someone who I was hoping to see
- 21:54Speaker 1: him back in the ring with one last time on
- 21:56Speaker 1: this tour. Thirty minutes before Raw went on the air
- 21:59Speaker 1: Monday night, John Sena did something that he has not
- 22:02Speaker 1: done a single time this entire retirement tour, or really
- 22:06Speaker 1: any other time in his career that I can remember,
- 22:09Speaker 1: and he more or less lobbied for a match on
- 22:12Speaker 1: social media. He simply posted the hashtag Sena versus Styles thoughts.
- 22:19Speaker 1: That's called planting the seed, and you don't do that
- 22:22Speaker 1: unless you either want the match or you already know
- 22:25Speaker 1: it's happening and you're giving people the match. And he
- 22:27Speaker 1: followed that up with I do not choose my opponents,
- 22:31Speaker 1: but I, even though or even through tough times, rather
- 22:34Speaker 1: always listen to the fans at AJ styles Org are
- 22:38Speaker 1: you listening? Better yet at Triple H? Are you listening?
- 22:43Speaker 1: And AJ Styles was quick to respond, he says, I
- 22:45Speaker 1: hear them loud and clear, Let's do it. I'm ready.
- 22:49Speaker 1: So of course Triple H chimed in like the Knight
- 22:52Speaker 1: in Shining Armor, and he tweeted John Cena versus AJ
- 22:56Speaker 1: Styles as a match we all want to see and
- 22:59Speaker 1: it crowned we will, So it's official. John Cena versus
- 23:04Speaker 1: AJ Styles one last time in Perth, Australia. What a
- 23:08Speaker 1: coincidence they announced this right after so many people shit
- 23:11Speaker 1: on what happened to Wressell Palooza. Dave Meltzer says Scena
- 23:14Speaker 1: versus Styles was always the plan for Australia, going back
- 23:17Speaker 1: to at least the week where Styles cut that weird
- 23:20Speaker 1: Workshoot promo during one of the commercials on Raw that
- 23:23Speaker 1: hasn't gone anywhere since then, now that I think about it,
- 23:27Speaker 1: If it was the plan, it's adorable how they had
- 23:30Speaker 1: seen a tweet about it first to make it seem
- 23:32Speaker 1: like the fans helped make it happen. But it makes
- 23:35Speaker 1: Triple H look like again the man of the people
- 23:37Speaker 1: all of a sudden, right he's giving the people what
- 23:39Speaker 1: they want. Well played, well played. Scena posted a photo
- 23:45Speaker 1: on his Instagram of that guy from the movie Captain
- 23:49Speaker 1: Phillips with Tom Hanks. I think it was the pirates
- 23:53Speaker 1: that take over the ship. It's the guy who says
- 23:56Speaker 1: I'm the captain. Now he posted that image no context. Yeah,
- 24:01Speaker 1: you're the captain now because again you know the implication
- 24:03Speaker 1: being that he's taken the reins now of his own
- 24:06Speaker 1: retirement tour. He's the captain now, Yeah, you're the captain
- 24:11Speaker 1: now when you have three fucking matches left on your tour.
- 24:14Speaker 1: Now you're the captain. Where was the captain six months
- 24:17Speaker 1: ago when we needed you? Mister. I don't lobby for matches.
- 24:23Speaker 1: I'm just glad we're getting the match because I had
- 24:26Speaker 1: given up hope of it happening with so few appearances left,
- 24:29Speaker 1: you know. As it is, he's not scheduled for any
- 24:30Speaker 1: television until Crown Jewel. So this is literally just throwing
- 24:35Speaker 1: you know, a match out there, a dream match if
- 24:37Speaker 1: you want to call it that, even though we've seen
- 24:38Speaker 1: it before. It's throwing a match out there that they
- 24:40Speaker 1: know the live crowd is going to eat up. Styles
- 24:43Speaker 1: has given seen as some of the best matches of
- 24:45Speaker 1: his entire career. Their Summer Slim match from twenty sixteen
- 24:48Speaker 1: is my favorite of the bunch. I had the pleasure
- 24:51Speaker 1: of being in the building for that one. That was special.
- 24:53Speaker 1: Their last match was excellent. Actually it wasn't their last match,
- 24:57Speaker 1: they had a TV match, but their last big pay
- 25:00Speaker 1: per view match was excellent. That was the Royal Rumble
- 25:02Speaker 1: match in twenty seventeen, where they never left the ring
- 25:06Speaker 1: one single time during the entire match. Nobody got thrown
- 25:10Speaker 1: into the ring steps, there was no big bump on
- 25:12Speaker 1: the announced desk. They kept everything in the ring and
- 25:17Speaker 1: seeing a tied Rick Flair with sixteen world titles. That
- 25:21Speaker 1: was John Seena's last truly great match of his career.
- 25:24Speaker 1: Up until the match he had with Cody Rhodes at
- 25:26Speaker 1: Summerslim this year, it had been eight years since he
- 25:31Speaker 1: had a match that great. Now they get to run
- 25:34Speaker 1: it back one last time. See, this is the kind
- 25:36Speaker 1: of thing I was hoping for to see out of
- 25:39Speaker 1: this tour. Now, aj Styles he may not be getting
- 25:43Speaker 1: a tour of his own, but if we take him
- 25:46Speaker 1: at his word, his career is coming to an end.
- 25:49Speaker 1: Also very soon, a lot sooner than people may have expected.
- 25:53Speaker 1: And speaking with Tokyo Sports this week to promote WWE's
- 25:56Speaker 1: upcoming tour dates in Japan next month, he said that
- 25:59Speaker 1: the these shows coming up maybe the final times he
- 26:02Speaker 1: gets to perform in Japan. He said, I will probably
- 26:05Speaker 1: appear at WrestleMania, but it's not confirmed yet. The details
- 26:09Speaker 1: are still undecided, but I will definitely retire within the
- 26:11Speaker 1: next year. I don't want to show my fans aside
- 26:14Speaker 1: of me that isn't AJ styles. That's the main reason
- 26:17Speaker 1: I've decided to retire before my body can no longer move.
- 26:22Speaker 1: And regarding his plans after retirement, he said, I haven't
- 26:25Speaker 1: decided yet, but I think I'll probably work for WWE.
- 26:29Speaker 1: It might be good to train young wrestlers to be
- 26:31Speaker 1: worthy of being on the main roster, but I don't
- 26:33Speaker 1: know yet. Six months ago, he sat down with Chris
- 26:39Speaker 1: van Vliet and he told Chris that he will not
- 26:42Speaker 1: wrestle at fifty. I promise you that, he said, I
- 26:46Speaker 1: will not be wrestling at fifty, although he didn't say
- 26:50Speaker 1: anything about fifty one. Take that year off, AJA, you
- 26:53Speaker 1: deserve it, then come back for that second run. No,
- 26:57Speaker 1: he's been saying that for a while, that he's done
- 26:59Speaker 1: at the age of fifty. He's forty eight right now.
- 27:02Speaker 1: He'll be forty nine in June, so I mean, technically
- 27:05Speaker 1: he could still live up to that, but he could
- 27:07Speaker 1: still get through the entire year next year. I don't
- 27:10Speaker 1: know if that's something he wants to do, but man,
- 27:11Speaker 1: it's like I hear him talking about that, John Cena,
- 27:15Speaker 1: Hiroshi Tanahashi, now Aj Styles. It really feels like the
- 27:21Speaker 1: end of an era playing out right before our eyes.
- 27:26Speaker 1: But Feiful reported some time ago that AJ's contract is
- 27:28Speaker 1: up around February of next year, so that's probably why
- 27:32Speaker 1: he said it's not confirmed yet that he'll be at WrestleMania.
- 27:34Speaker 1: I'm sure they could extend him out to WrestleMania if
- 27:37Speaker 1: his deal is up before then. I cannot imagine that
- 27:41Speaker 1: they allow AJ Styles to retire in February or March
- 27:46Speaker 1: when they're that close to WrestleMania. If we're going to
- 27:49Speaker 1: get a John Cena retirement match in December and not
- 27:52Speaker 1: at WrestleMania, then why not give AJ Styles one at
- 27:55Speaker 1: WrestleMania next year. I don't need an Aj Styles retirement tour,
- 27:59Speaker 1: not after the way these people book John Cena's retirement tour,
- 28:02Speaker 1: no thank you, but his last match being at WrestleMania,
- 28:06Speaker 1: that would be a worthy sendoff for this guy, a
- 28:09Speaker 1: guy that has been one of the elite performers of
- 28:11Speaker 1: his generation. He really has been the body of work
- 28:14Speaker 1: that he put together in TNA, the work that he
- 28:17Speaker 1: did during that short run in New Japan, winning the
- 28:20Speaker 1: IWGP title and leading Bullet Club. And then in WWE
- 28:24Speaker 1: he was pushed harder right out of the gate than
- 28:26Speaker 1: I ever thought he would be. But in his first
- 28:28Speaker 1: year he had that great Rumble debut, back to back
- 28:31Speaker 1: title matches with Roman Reigns on pay per view, then
- 28:34Speaker 1: a program that saw him beat John Sena twice in
- 28:37Speaker 1: two months, first Money in the Bank and then at SummerSlam,
- 28:41Speaker 1: and then a month after that he won the WWE Championship.
- 28:45Speaker 1: That's not a bad first year. I wish I could
- 28:48Speaker 1: say the same for all of his other years there.
- 28:51Speaker 1: You know, the last few have not been kind to
- 28:53Speaker 1: AJ Styles, between the injuries and the booking. The man
- 28:56Speaker 1: deserves a major sendoff. He may not have been a
- 28:59Speaker 1: WWE guy the way John Cena was a WWE guy.
- 29:02Speaker 1: John Cena was a product of WWE. You know, AJ
- 29:05Speaker 1: Styles made his name outside of WWE. But next year
- 29:09Speaker 1: is going to be his ten year anniversary in this company.
- 29:12Speaker 1: Ten years of Aj Styles in WWE. It just sells itself.
- 29:17Speaker 1: Now watch them run back Styles in Jericho again. In
- 29:20Speaker 1: AJ's last match, that was his first wrestle media match,
- 29:23Speaker 1: it was against Chris Jericho. They may give it to
- 29:26Speaker 1: us again next year. So after Crown Jewel, Senior's got
- 29:31Speaker 1: four appearances left by my count Boston on November tenth,
- 29:34Speaker 1: Madison Square Garden on November seventeen, Survivor Series in San
- 29:39Speaker 1: Diego on November twenty ninth, and Washington, d C for
- 29:42Speaker 1: his final match on Saturday Night's Main event on December thirteenth.
- 29:47Speaker 1: And I could see it shaping up like this. You've
- 29:49Speaker 1: got that Boston show right on November tenth. There's been
- 29:52Speaker 1: some chatter about Dominic Mysterio being considered as an opponent
- 29:56Speaker 1: at some point on this tour for John Cena. Do
- 30:00Speaker 1: John Cena challenging Dominic Mysterio for the Intercontinental title in Boston?
- 30:05Speaker 1: Since people seem to want so badly for him to challenge.
- 30:08Speaker 1: I get so many fucking questions about John Cena. Should
- 30:11Speaker 1: he challenge for the Intercontinental title? He could win the
- 30:13Speaker 1: Grand Slam, right, there's enough people out there who clearly
- 30:16Speaker 1: want to see it. He's not gonna win it. You know,
- 30:20Speaker 1: he's not winning the Intercontinental title. But you do that
- 30:22Speaker 1: match on that show in Boston. Then at MSG we
- 30:26Speaker 1: get John Cena against Seth Rollins. Not for the world
- 30:30Speaker 1: heavyweight title. But if they end up leading their own
- 30:32Speaker 1: respective teams in wargames, or even if Seen is not
- 30:36Speaker 1: the captain, let's say he's in war games, he's on
- 30:38Speaker 1: someone else's team. If they're on opposite ends of that
- 30:41Speaker 1: wargames match, you could do Sena against Rollins one last
- 30:44Speaker 1: time at MSG for the man advantage, and then in
- 30:49Speaker 1: his final match in December, we get John Cena against Gunther.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Like in dom he gets to work with a younger
- 30:56Speaker 1: talent who could get the rub from it. Against he's
- 31:00Speaker 1: in there with another old rival and there's something tangible
- 31:04Speaker 1: on the line as far as wargames goes. And then
- 31:07Speaker 1: with Gunther, it's a newer name, he's never wrestled before,
- 31:11Speaker 1: but it's somewhat a little more well established than you know,
- 31:13Speaker 1: someone like Dominic would be, So that way you get
- 31:16Speaker 1: some variation with all three opponents. Now. Watching Obafemi lose
- 31:21Speaker 1: the NXT Championship last night at No Mercy, the thought
- 31:24Speaker 1: did cross my mind of putting Oba in there and
- 31:27Speaker 1: letting him be the one to retire John Cena and
- 31:29Speaker 1: really launching him. But the brock Lesner match just killed
- 31:32Speaker 1: it last weekend because the only way that works like,
- 31:35Speaker 1: in my mind, as dominant as a champion as Obafemi
- 31:39Speaker 1: has been, and the man is just that he's a
- 31:41Speaker 1: physical specimen. You just say, you look at him, and
- 31:44Speaker 1: he just looks He looks like a gladiator, this guy.
- 31:48Speaker 1: The only way that works is if Oba goes in
- 31:50Speaker 1: there and just decimates John Cena, Like it can't be
- 31:54Speaker 1: an overly competitive match. I'm sorry, I don't care how
- 31:57Speaker 1: much more experienced John Cena has. You can't do that
- 32:02Speaker 1: to me. That just doesn't work. But you've already done
- 32:05Speaker 1: the Sena decimation against Brock, and frankly, nobody wants to
- 32:11Speaker 1: see that in johnsen his last match. Nobody is gonna
- 32:14Speaker 1: want to see John Cena go in there in his
- 32:15Speaker 1: last match and get absolutely slaughtered by somebody in four minutes.
- 32:21Speaker 1: I mean, I would build that entire Saturday Night's main
- 32:23Speaker 1: event show around the Sena match. So you need to
- 32:26Speaker 1: be able to deliver one last, really great match that
- 32:28Speaker 1: has some length to it. You know, whoever wins, it's
- 32:31Speaker 1: got to be a competitive match. I just don't see
- 32:34Speaker 1: that with Oba Femi. Oba is not the right guy
- 32:37Speaker 1: for that spot. John seen his dad, by the way,
- 32:40Speaker 1: should mention this was no fed of his son's match
- 32:44Speaker 1: with brock Lesner. He called it a squash match. He
- 32:48Speaker 1: said the images of crying children is not how you
- 32:51Speaker 1: want business to go. This is what he told Chris
- 32:54Speaker 1: Featherstone on the Unscripted podcast on Sports KEDA. He also
- 32:58Speaker 1: said the start of his son's healed was great, but
- 33:01Speaker 1: the storyline was destroyed when The Rock and Travis Scott
- 33:04Speaker 1: were no longer involved. He said that wasn't something he
- 33:07Speaker 1: was too hyped up on. I agree with mister Cena,
- 33:12Speaker 1: the true wise Man. Today's episode is sponsored by mint Mobile.
- 33:18Speaker 1: I don't usually like hearing the word no. I didn't
- 33:21Speaker 1: like it when I was a kid and my parents
- 33:23Speaker 1: would tell me no. I didn't like it when I
- 33:25Speaker 1: asked that one girl out in college and she said no.
- 33:28Speaker 1: No can be a dirty word, but not if you're
- 33:30Speaker 1: still overpaying for wireless. That's when it's time to say
- 33:34Speaker 1: yes to saying no. At mint Mobile, their favorite word
- 33:38Speaker 1: is no, as in no contracts, no monthly bills, no overages,
- 33:42Speaker 1: no hidden fees, no bs. That's why I said yes
- 33:47Speaker 1: to making the switch and getting premium wireless for just
- 33:49Speaker 1: fifteen bucks a month. You're probably overspending, right, now for
- 33:53Speaker 1: overpriced wireless with their ridiculous monthly bills, unexpected overages, and
- 33:57Speaker 1: hidden fees. With Mint, plans start at fis fifteen dollars
- 34:00Speaker 1: a month. All plans come with high speed data and

- 34:16Speaker 1: I've had no complaints about their service. It's been fast,
- 34:19Speaker 1: it's been reliable. No drop calls or hey, you sound
- 34:22Speaker 1: like you're underwater, right, I've had that before with other carriers. Plus,
- 34:27Speaker 1: when I get my bill each month now compared to
- 34:29Speaker 1: what it used to be, it is staggering to think
- 34:31Speaker 1: how much money I was throwing away for inferior service
- 34:34Speaker 1: when I could have been with Mint all along. I'm
- 34:37Speaker 1: glad I gave Mint a shot, and you will be too.
- 34:39Speaker 1: You'll be very happy, especially with this special offer for

- 35:07Speaker 1: Taxes and fees extra. See Mint Mobile for details. The
- 35:10Speaker 1: rest of the Crown Jewel card is shaping up like this.
- 35:13Speaker 1: We have the two Crown Jewel title matches Cody Rhodes
- 35:16Speaker 1: against Steph Rollins and Stephanie Vequerre against Tiffany Stratton, who
- 35:21Speaker 1: retained her WWE Women's Championship on SmackDown Friday Night in
- 35:25Speaker 1: a main event that just completely fell apart there at
- 35:29Speaker 1: the very end. Whatever could go wrong did go wrong.
- 35:33Speaker 1: It started with Naya Jacks throwing Jade Cargill into the
- 35:37Speaker 1: ring steps outside hard and Jade suffered a nasty gash
- 35:43Speaker 1: on her left eyebrow. If you saw the photos on
- 35:45Speaker 1: her Instagram, it is disgusting. They actually slapped the content
- 35:49Speaker 1: warning on it, that's how bad it was. And it
- 35:52Speaker 1: honestly reminded me of the gash I got on my
- 35:54Speaker 1: leg on my knee. I mean mine was bigger, but
- 35:57Speaker 1: it's kind of got that same shape to it. It
- 36:00Speaker 1: looks like a slot machine. It looks like a slot
- 36:03Speaker 1: that you would shove a quarter into to play a
- 36:04Speaker 1: new game. That's what it looks like. There's blame to
- 36:09Speaker 1: go around on this one. Nya should have put a
- 36:11Speaker 1: little more distance between her and the steps when she
- 36:14Speaker 1: threw Jade into them. There really wasn't much room there,
- 36:17Speaker 1: but Jade should have gotten her hands up, so I
- 36:19Speaker 1: don't think you could just put that on one person
- 36:21Speaker 1: and not the other. But then after they got back
- 36:24Speaker 1: in the ring, Jade dropped her with the eye of
- 36:26Speaker 1: the storm and she had her pinned. Tiffany was supposed
- 36:29Speaker 1: to break up the fall, clearly, but she was going
- 36:31Speaker 1: to be late. You can see the panic on Naya's face,
- 36:34Speaker 1: so Nya kicked out. Then Tiffany comes flying and nails
- 36:37Speaker 1: Jade with a dropkick, and Jade rolls out of the
- 36:40Speaker 1: ring and Tiffany went to go steal the pin, which
- 36:42Speaker 1: was clearly going to be the finish of the match.
- 36:45Speaker 1: But Nia had already kicked out right because Tiffany was
- 36:49Speaker 1: going to be late on the previous spot, so Tiffany
- 36:52Speaker 1: just covering her and pinning her really wouldn't have made
- 36:54Speaker 1: much sense anyway. The finish was already ruined, but she
- 36:59Speaker 1: covered Nya anyway and referee Daphnie Lashan. She counts one,
- 37:03Speaker 1: she counts two, and then she held up at three,
- 37:07Speaker 1: even though Nia did not kick out, and the crowd
- 37:11Speaker 1: went silent like it looked awful. I thought the match
- 37:16Speaker 1: was a mess, honestly, even before all of this happened.
- 37:19Speaker 1: But at that point it just fell off a fucking
- 37:22Speaker 1: cliff and Tiffany went up. She hit her prettiest Moonsalt
- 37:26Speaker 1: ever and she pinned Nya to retain the title. She
- 37:29Speaker 1: was going to win the match anyway, so it didn't
- 37:31Speaker 1: affect the actual finish of the match. It's gonna be
- 37:33Speaker 1: Tiffany against Stephanie at Crown Jewel. They were really pushing
- 37:38Speaker 1: that Tiffany, you know, coming into this triple threat, they
- 37:41Speaker 1: were really pushing that Tiffany is undefeated this year. I
- 37:44Speaker 1: think that needs to end at Crown Jewel. Stephanie should
- 37:48Speaker 1: not be losing to Tiffany Stratton, and Seth is not
- 37:51Speaker 1: losing to Cody Roads again, not after Cody won the
- 37:53Speaker 1: Crown Jewel Belt last year. He also won it Wressell Palooza.
- 37:57Speaker 1: Seth did not. And if the vision is for war Games,
- 38:01Speaker 1: then Rollins needs this win a lot more than Cody does.
- 38:04Speaker 1: So we have those two matches, plus Sena against aj Styles,
- 38:09Speaker 1: and it sure feels like we're going to get a
- 38:11Speaker 1: tag team match with Rhea, Ripley and Eo Sky against
- 38:13Speaker 1: Osca and Kyrie Saine. We actually got a great main
- 38:17Speaker 1: event on Monday night with Ria and Osca. As much
- 38:20Speaker 1: as I disliked the main event on Friday, I love
- 38:22Speaker 1: the main event on Monday, and it finally happened. We
- 38:25Speaker 1: got the Oska heel turn. She's been trending that way
- 38:28Speaker 1: for weeks, but they made it official and when the
- 38:31Speaker 1: match was over, she missed Rhea in the face, turned
- 38:34Speaker 1: her into a smurf. EO came out to try to
- 38:37Speaker 1: calm things down. Osca gave her a hug and then
- 38:39Speaker 1: turned on EO and then forced Kyrie to do the same.
- 38:44Speaker 1: Eo is going to be wrestling Mayu Ewaitani on The
- 38:48Speaker 1: Marigold Show October twenty sixth. Marigold posted a video on
- 38:51Speaker 1: Friday of EO challenging Mayu to a match at their
- 38:55Speaker 1: Dream Destiny show. They were tag team partners and started
- 38:58Speaker 1: many years ago, twice whole the trios titles together and
- 39:02Speaker 1: once holding the tag team titles. This will be their
- 39:05Speaker 1: first singles match since Stardom's Cinderella Tournament in twenty eighteen.
- 39:09Speaker 1: And this is going to end up on a lot
- 39:11Speaker 1: of people's Match of the Year lists, I can guarantee it.
- 39:14Speaker 1: WWE is running back to back shows in Tokyo on
- 39:16Speaker 1: a Japanese tour the week before, so I guess Eo
- 39:19Speaker 1: will just stay over the extra week and then work
- 39:22Speaker 1: the match with Mayu and then fly back. But WWE
- 39:25Speaker 1: has announced some of the initial matches for those shows. Friday,
- 39:28Speaker 1: October seventeenth, Get this, Julia defends the Women's United States
- 39:33Speaker 1: Championship in a three way against Eo Sky and Ria Ripley.
- 39:38Speaker 1: Now that's a fucking match. Put that on my TV.
- 39:43Speaker 1: Seth Rollins defends the World Heavyweight Title against cmpunk. I
- 39:47Speaker 1: am just so over the punk and Seth stuff. It's
- 39:51Speaker 1: just not even funny. Shinzke Knakamura. They're in Japan, so
- 39:55Speaker 1: they're gonna dust them off. How's this for a random pairing?
- 39:58Speaker 1: It'll be Knackamora and jay Uso teaming up to take
- 40:01Speaker 1: on bron Breaker and Bronson Reid. Then on Saturday, October eighteenth,
- 40:05Speaker 1: Julia defends her US title. Assuming she's still the champion,
- 40:08Speaker 1: of course, and doesn't lose it. The night before she
- 40:10Speaker 1: defends the US title against Kyrie Sain with Osca in
- 40:14Speaker 1: her corner. Rhea, Ripley and Eosky take on Rakel Rodriguez
- 40:17Speaker 1: and Roxane Perez and Cmpunk, Jay Usso and Shinsky Nakamora
- 40:22Speaker 1: take on Seth Rollins, bron Breaker, and Bronson Reid. The
- 40:27Speaker 1: annual PWI five hundred rankings dropped this week. I usually
- 40:32Speaker 1: cover this each year. This is a list based solely
- 40:34Speaker 1: on k fabe, although that doesn't stop people from passionately
- 40:38Speaker 1: debating it. The evaluation period for this was August one,
- 40:44Speaker 1: twenty twenty four through July thirty first of this year,
- 40:48Speaker 1: and it weighs the following criteria, and this is important
- 40:52Speaker 1: to keep in mind. This is what they go by.
- 40:55Speaker 1: Your win loss record, championships won, quality of competition, major feuds,
- 41:02Speaker 1: prominence within a wrestler's promotion, and overall wrestling ability, so
- 41:07Speaker 1: all of those things are factored in here to these rankings,
- 41:10Speaker 1: and topping the list at number one for the second
- 41:13Speaker 1: straight year, becoming only the fourth wrestler ever to do so,
- 41:17Speaker 1: after Brett Hart nineteen ninety three and ninety four, Steve
- 41:21Speaker 1: Austin nineteen ninety eight and ninety nine, and John Cena
- 41:24Speaker 1: two thousand and six and two thousand and seven. Coming
- 41:27Speaker 1: into number one this year is the American Nightmare Cody
- 41:30Speaker 1: Rhodes winning for twenty twenty four and now twenty twenty five.
- 41:34Speaker 1: So last year, let's see here. Last year would have
- 41:38Speaker 1: included him leading his team to victory and war Games,
- 41:43Speaker 1: winning his second straight Royal Rumble, feuding with the Rock,
- 41:48Speaker 1: headlining both Knights of WrestleMania, and finishing his story to
- 41:51Speaker 1: win the WWE Championship and really becoming the face of
- 41:55Speaker 1: the company. Becoming the face of WWE. Right, you can't
- 41:58Speaker 1: really argue against that, So that was last year, though
- 42:01Speaker 1: for this period it would include his Crown Jewel win
- 42:05Speaker 1: over Gunther, his entire feud with Kevin Owens, including their
- 42:10Speaker 1: ladder match at the Royal Rumble, his WrestleMania loss to
- 42:14Speaker 1: John Cena, and his King of the Ring win over
- 42:18Speaker 1: Randy Orton. So still a strong year, but not as
- 42:21Speaker 1: strong as last year. He took more of a back
- 42:24Speaker 1: seat this year to Sena since it's Sena's retirement year.
- 42:29Speaker 1: Number two is John Moxley, up from number eight the
- 42:33Speaker 1: year before. That's largely based on him holding the aw
- 42:36Speaker 1: World Championship for nearly that entire period, and he was
- 42:39Speaker 1: leading the Death Riders wrestling in multiple pay per view
- 42:43Speaker 1: main events. I mean, when you consider the criteria that
- 42:45Speaker 1: they're using here, I can't argue with this pick. Number
- 42:49Speaker 1: three is Gunther, who spent a good portion of that
- 42:52Speaker 1: period as the World Heavyweight Champion, and he also retired
- 42:54Speaker 1: Bill Goldberg. Hail Hydra. I mean Gunther still waiting for
- 42:59Speaker 1: a gold old Berg to tell his side of the
- 43:01Speaker 1: story that he teased on Ariel Helwani show. He said,
- 43:04Speaker 1: wait a couple of weeks. That was a couple of
- 43:06Speaker 1: months ago. Sounds like someone was gotten to number four,
- 43:12Speaker 1: Hangman Adam Page. Number five is Hiroki Goto, who had
- 43:16Speaker 1: a nice unexpected run as the IWGP World Champion and
- 43:20Speaker 1: is also one of the wrestlers that is filming for
- 43:23Speaker 1: the new Street Fighter movie. I believe he is going
- 43:26Speaker 1: to be e Honda. Number six is Jay Usso, cracking
- 43:32Speaker 1: the top ten for the first time in his career.
- 43:34Speaker 1: Number seven is Swerve Strickland, who falls from number two
- 43:38Speaker 1: last year to number seven this year. Number eight is
- 43:41Speaker 1: Seth Rollins, down from number four last year, and he
- 43:45Speaker 1: was actually number one the year before that. Number nine
- 43:49Speaker 1: is Mystico, who is legitimately one of the biggest names
- 43:52Speaker 1: in the history of the business. I mean that's the
- 43:54Speaker 1: kind of success that he has had in Mexico and
- 43:56Speaker 1: continues to have. At Number ten is will Osprey, down
- 44:02Speaker 1: from number three last year, jay Uso over will Osprey.
- 44:07Speaker 1: I get it based on the criteria, but man, it
- 44:10Speaker 1: hurts my soul. Now rounding out the top twenty five,
- 44:13Speaker 1: I'm not gonna read the whole list, but we'll go
- 44:15Speaker 1: through the top twenty five. Number eleven, Kazuchka Okata, number twelve,
- 44:20Speaker 1: Joe Hendry number thirteen, Zach Saber Junior number fourteen, Oba
- 44:25Speaker 1: Femi number fifteen, cm Punk wow Oba over punk Oba
- 44:33Speaker 1: was very important to the NXT brand though. You know,
- 44:36Speaker 1: your your prominence and significance to your your company and
- 44:40Speaker 1: your brand is a big part of the criteria here,
- 44:44Speaker 1: So I kind of get it, but yes, number fifteen
- 44:47Speaker 1: to Cempunk number sixteen is Bandido number seventeen, Kenoski Takeshta
- 44:52Speaker 1: number eighteen, Damian Priest number nineteen, Trick Williams number twenty
- 44:57Speaker 1: Jacob fa II number twenty one, Nick Nemeth number twenty two,
- 45:03Speaker 1: La Night Yeah, number twenty three, Mascerriderata number twenty four,
- 45:09Speaker 1: bron Breaker the number twenty five, Masha Slamovich and oh
- 45:15Speaker 1: the fire storm that set off this week. I'm gonna
- 45:18Speaker 1: get to that in a bit. Her appearing at number
- 45:20Speaker 1: twenty five on this list, that was the catalyst for
- 45:23Speaker 1: all the shit that came out this week. So people
- 45:25Speaker 1: who say the PWI five hundred doesn't matter, you can't
- 45:29Speaker 1: say that this year. It's also weird that she was
- 45:32Speaker 1: on there at all, because they have a separate list
- 45:34Speaker 1: for the women that comes out later this year. But
- 45:36Speaker 1: Masha's on here, Meghan Bain is on here, Billy Starks
- 45:40Speaker 1: was on here. The only thing I could think of
- 45:41Speaker 1: is that if they wrestled any inter gender matches, that
- 45:44Speaker 1: that would make them eligible to be on the main list,
- 45:47Speaker 1: because otherwise, I mean, to not have people on here
- 45:49Speaker 1: like Tony Storm and Rhea Ripley is ridiculous. Uh, you know,
- 45:54Speaker 1: my top five, I don't even know what my criteria is.
- 45:56Speaker 1: It's called my gut. My top five would be in
- 45:59Speaker 1: no particular or Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Hangman, Page, will Osprey,
- 46:05Speaker 1: and Gunther That would be my top five. But since
- 46:09Speaker 1: I mentioned Masha Slamovich, this is as good a place
- 46:12Speaker 1: as any to talk about this because she was involved
- 46:16Speaker 1: in a major controversy this week. The former TNA Knockouts
- 46:20Speaker 1: champion had allegations of domestic abuse levied against her. She
- 46:25Speaker 1: was scheduled to challenge ash By Elegance, the former Dana Brook,
- 46:29Speaker 1: for the title on Friday at the TNA Victory Road
- 46:31Speaker 1: pay per view, but was pulled from the show as
- 46:34Speaker 1: she was several independent dates that she was scheduled for.
- 46:37Speaker 1: I'm not sure if those promotions pulled her or if
- 46:39Speaker 1: she pulled herself. TNA definitely pulled her, and that made
- 46:44Speaker 1: news in and of itself. Ashby Elegance came out on
- 46:48Speaker 1: the show on Friday and vacated the championships, saying that
- 46:51Speaker 1: she is no longer able to compete and she would
- 46:54Speaker 1: be stepping away from in ring competition. And it definitely
- 46:57Speaker 1: did not come off as a happy announcement for anyone thinking, Naomi,
- 47:02Speaker 1: maybe it's a similar type of deal. It didn't come
- 47:05Speaker 1: off that way. Hopefully it's nothing too serious, but it
- 47:08Speaker 1: was serious enough that she gave a speech and she
- 47:10Speaker 1: vacated the title, so instead they held a Battle Royal
- 47:13Speaker 1: with the final two women Killanie Jordan of NXT and
- 47:17Speaker 1: Lee Ying Lee, the former Zileee, moving on to a
- 47:21Speaker 1: singles match later in the show to crown a new champion,
- 47:23Speaker 1: which ended up being Killannie Jordan, another TNA title claimed
- 47:28Speaker 1: by a WWE talent, but I heard it was a
- 47:31Speaker 1: really good match. I did see the spot circulating online,
- 47:34Speaker 1: the botch where Jordan came off the apron with what
- 47:37Speaker 1: looked to be Irana that maybe she was going for
- 47:40Speaker 1: on the floor and Lee just dropped her hard with
- 47:44Speaker 1: what ended up being a power bomb, and then she
- 47:47Speaker 1: just popped right back up and no sold it because
- 47:50Speaker 1: that wasn't the planned spot. This is how they're teaching
- 47:54Speaker 1: these wrestlers. It's like they're not capable of thinking on
- 47:57Speaker 1: the fly, which is a terrible quality not to have. Like,
- 48:02Speaker 1: if something like that happens, especially as devastating as this looked,
- 48:06Speaker 1: fucking sell it. Don't pop right back up like nothing
- 48:10Speaker 1: happened just because it wasn't supposed to happen. It happened.
- 48:13Speaker 1: Like even if you just sell it briefly and then
- 48:15Speaker 1: pick up with whatever you were supposed to do, fucking
- 48:18Speaker 1: sell it. But anyway, Masha wasn't there. And it started
- 48:23Speaker 1: on Tuesday with her ranking number twenty five on the
- 48:25Speaker 1: PWI five hundred list, after which came a flood of
- 48:29Speaker 1: allegations and photos and text messages on social media after
- 48:34Speaker 1: a friend of her ex boyfriend who's also a wrestler
- 48:37Speaker 1: named Akira. He has performed for MLW and GCW and CMLL,
- 48:43Speaker 1: among other promotions. His friend called out Slamovich for allegedly
- 48:48Speaker 1: abusing Akira physically and mentally over the course of their relationship,
- 48:53Speaker 1: and those allegations included a link to a dropbox with
- 48:56Speaker 1: over one hundred screenshots of texts alleged texts between the two.
- 49:01Speaker 1: They haven't been authenticated, but there's no reason to believe
- 49:03Speaker 1: that they're fake. That feature Slamovich admitting in these messages
- 49:08Speaker 1: to hitting Akira, alleging demands for money and what could
- 49:13Speaker 1: really just be described as emotional abuse, and the social
- 49:17Speaker 1: media posts also featured photos of cuts and bruises on
- 49:20Speaker 1: Akira's face and wrists. The texts range from twenty twenty
- 49:24Speaker 1: two to earlier this year. As a result of this,
- 49:28Speaker 1: Masha is now under internal investigation by TNA. The promotion
- 49:32Speaker 1: told Sports Illustrated on Tuesday, we take any allegations like
- 49:35Speaker 1: this very seriously and have begun an internal investigation. WWE
- 49:41Speaker 1: sources also told Fightful Select that any plans of using
- 49:45Speaker 1: her for their TNA Invasion angle would be paused. If
- 49:47Speaker 1: there were any plans, Fightful Select also learned that Masha's
- 49:51Speaker 1: contract with TNA is up relatively soon, and it was
- 49:55Speaker 1: still up in the air whether or not she would
- 49:57Speaker 1: even remain with the company. She was scheduled to lose
- 50:00Speaker 1: her TNA Knockouts title match against ashby Elegance, which of
- 50:03Speaker 1: course ended up not even happening, so none of this
- 50:06Speaker 1: is a good sign for her future in TNA or
- 50:08Speaker 1: even possibly WWE. Now. Akira posted a statement of his
- 50:13Speaker 1: own on social media on Tuesday, admitting that, among other things,
- 50:17Speaker 1: admitting that he tried to commit suicide on three separate occasions.
- 50:22Speaker 1: He said, I woke up to this and people asking
- 50:25Speaker 1: me if I was okay, kind of want to throw up,
- 50:28Speaker 1: kind of want to go away forever. My friend held
- 50:31Speaker 1: back for months because I asked her to, and I
- 50:33Speaker 1: would have never said anything. I still really don't want to.
- 50:37Speaker 1: I didn't want to lash out in anger because I
- 50:39Speaker 1: was angry, suicidal, and depressive since the end of January.
- 50:44Speaker 1: I'm not alive, though. If she didn't take my calls
- 50:46Speaker 1: every day while caring for her sick grandfather, I'm not alive.
- 50:50Speaker 1: If my roommate didn't laugh with me at stupid videos daily,
- 50:54Speaker 1: I'm not alive. If Dale Patrick's and Simon Gotch weren't
- 50:57Speaker 1: there for me. I gave a lot with little in return.
- 51:01Speaker 1: I had a lot of growing up to do, and
- 51:02Speaker 1: despite my progression, I was always told I was never
- 51:05Speaker 1: doing enough. The things I liked and did were stupid
- 51:08Speaker 1: and waste of time. Things I told about my thoughts
- 51:12Speaker 1: on my gender and the confusion I was feeling was
- 51:15Speaker 1: turned on me. I was lied to about finances and
- 51:18Speaker 1: spent more than I should have because I thought we
- 51:20Speaker 1: were struggling together. I almost killed myself three times as
- 51:25Speaker 1: the life I tried to build with someone was torn
- 51:27Speaker 1: apart and I became nothing to that person. It was
- 51:30Speaker 1: like a withdrawal. Every time I went to the hospital,
- 51:33Speaker 1: that person I put on a pedestal was gone. I
- 51:36Speaker 1: didn't matter. I would have never said anything. I only
- 51:40Speaker 1: came out with my prior experiences of sexual abuse because
- 51:43Speaker 1: I was spiraling alone in Japan. I tried my best,
- 51:46Speaker 1: but my best was never good enough, and all my
- 51:48Speaker 1: accomplishments and money were nothing but tools for someone else.
- 51:52Speaker 1: Many things said in confidence turned and used against me.
- 51:55Speaker 1: I can't get that time back. I can't get the
- 51:57Speaker 1: money back. I can't get the last four years of
- 52:00Speaker 1: my life back. I was just trying my best to
- 52:02Speaker 1: come back and be with my family and friends and
- 52:05Speaker 1: dog and try to get signed. I dreamed of doing things.
- 52:09Speaker 1: Maybe it won't happen now. I'm not angry. I'm not sad,
- 52:13Speaker 1: not anymore. I'm apathetic. I've moved on, and there's still
- 52:16Speaker 1: bitterness in my stomach. I don't let it guide me.
- 52:19Speaker 1: I've grown up as a person and a wrestler. I've
- 52:21Speaker 1: grown up mentally, physically and spiritually. I'm still fighting or
- 52:26Speaker 1: figuring rather things out and have nothing to say to
- 52:29Speaker 1: that person. I adored them. I still feel phantom pains
- 52:33Speaker 1: in my heart every time I see a photo. They're
- 52:35Speaker 1: a part of my life in history. I don't get
- 52:37Speaker 1: to where I am now, a mature and thoughtful person
- 52:41Speaker 1: with a healthy dose of CTE without the experiences I
- 52:44Speaker 1: went through and the isolation I experienced in a foreign country,
- 52:47Speaker 1: but it is what it is. Whatever happens happens. And
- 52:54Speaker 1: he followed that up two days later with a message
- 52:58Speaker 1: where again he appreciates everyone coming to his defense. He
- 53:03Speaker 1: wishes no ill will on this other person, obviously referring
- 53:07Speaker 1: to Masha. He talks about forgiveness. It's a long message,
- 53:10Speaker 1: but it's a more sort of positive, uplifting message, more
- 53:14Speaker 1: optimistic message about one of forgiveness and growth. Masha finally
- 53:21Speaker 1: responded to all of this with a message on social
- 53:25Speaker 1: media on Wednesday night. She said, up until the beginning
- 53:29Speaker 1: of this year, I was in a toxic and mutually
- 53:32Speaker 1: destructive relationship. We hurt each other deeply and in private moments,
- 53:37Speaker 1: failed to treat each other with the consideration and respect
- 53:40Speaker 1: that we both deserve. I take responsibility for my actions,
- 53:43Speaker 1: and I am sorry, embarrassed, and ashamed of the role
- 53:46Speaker 1: I played in our relationship and the way things turned out.
- 53:50Speaker 1: In the time since, I have sought help to reflect
- 53:53Speaker 1: on this time and deal with conflict and more mature,
- 53:55Speaker 1: healthier and sustainable ways. I apologize to those that I
- 53:59Speaker 1: let down, including my former partner. I hope he is
- 54:02Speaker 1: able to heal. This will be my only statement on
- 54:06Speaker 1: the matter. So she did apologize and claimed to take
- 54:11Speaker 1: responsibility for her actions. She didn't deny any of the
- 54:15Speaker 1: photos or screenshots that were posted were anything but genuine.
- 54:20Speaker 1: But it is interesting how she goes out of her
- 54:23Speaker 1: way in that opening sentence to make it known that
- 54:25Speaker 1: it was a mutually destructive relationship. That's certainly a choice,
- 54:31Speaker 1: it's one that really angered their former roommate who posted this,
- 54:35Speaker 1: and then we'll move on. I'm awake, thought about a response,
- 54:41Speaker 1: typed one out last night, deleted it. I realized the
- 54:44Speaker 1: only thing I truly need to say is that it
- 54:46Speaker 1: wasn't mutual, and if I wanted to, I would post
- 54:49Speaker 1: what videos I have of their fights that would go
- 54:52Speaker 1: hours on end, waking me up anytime from midnight to
- 54:55Speaker 1: three am, where it would be hours on hours of
- 54:58Speaker 1: her screaming at him, repeating herself over and over the
- 55:02Speaker 1: time she would physically assault him to immediately, asking why
- 55:05Speaker 1: he wouldn't just put his hands out or try and
- 55:07Speaker 1: stop her. I had talk after talk after talk with
- 55:11Speaker 1: both of them that they needed to break up with
- 55:13Speaker 1: each other. And for as much as Akira would simply
- 55:16Speaker 1: respond that he loved her and thought that they could
- 55:18Speaker 1: work through it together. She was on the opposite spectrum,
- 55:21Speaker 1: believing her actions were justified and actually needed to help
- 55:25Speaker 1: turn Akira into whatever image suited her fancy that month.
- 55:29Speaker 1: If it wasn't his gear, it was his body shape.
- 55:31Speaker 1: If it wasn't his body shape, it was his move set.
- 55:33Speaker 1: If it wasn't the moves, it was the companies he
- 55:35Speaker 1: worked for. If it wasn't the companies he worked for,
- 55:38Speaker 1: then it was the matches that he was taking on.
- 55:41Speaker 1: If I ever spoke up about anything, I was threatened,
- 55:44Speaker 1: physically told that I would be put in the hospital
- 55:46Speaker 1: or fucking killed. My first year there is actually I
- 55:50Speaker 1: actually told him I needed to leave and go home
- 55:53Speaker 1: to take care of my mom. Her health started deteriorating
- 55:56Speaker 1: worse in twenty twenty three, and I tried to bring
- 55:59Speaker 1: this up. Kiro wanted me to stay because that's my
- 56:01Speaker 1: best friend and brother, and we made a promise to
- 56:04Speaker 1: each other. Mash's only reason for wanting me to stay
- 56:07Speaker 1: was because she didn't want to have to pay more
- 56:08Speaker 1: for rent and who was going to take care of
- 56:12Speaker 1: the dog and cook for us? And then what also
- 56:15Speaker 1: guilt trip me about staying, reminding me how she had
- 56:18Speaker 1: helped me out with rent months prior. She cares only
- 56:21Speaker 1: about herself, and the longer I stayed there, the more
- 56:23Speaker 1: I realized it. But because I thought I was with
- 56:25Speaker 1: people who wanted to help me achieve my dreams, I
- 56:28Speaker 1: looked the other way and let a lot of shit slide.
- 56:31Speaker 1: But nothing about that situation was mutual. I have no
- 56:34Speaker 1: real regrets over my place in that situation. I probably
- 56:37Speaker 1: prevented more shit from happening than whatever did. If anything,
- 56:41Speaker 1: I'll regret losing friends for saying anything, because I'm sure
- 56:44Speaker 1: it will happen. So this is just one giant mess,
- 56:50Speaker 1: is what this is. And there's enough there to where
- 56:52Speaker 1: I think it'll be a while before we see Masha
- 56:54Speaker 1: back out there wrestling again. Her best move right now
- 56:58Speaker 1: would be to lay low and do some soul searching,
- 57:01Speaker 1: because it wasn't even her her, you know, her ex
- 57:05Speaker 1: who came out with this. It was other people that
- 57:07Speaker 1: she angered enough to where they just couldn't hold it
- 57:10Speaker 1: in any longer. You know, they just they could not
- 57:12Speaker 1: hold their tongues any longer. And it just goes to
- 57:15Speaker 1: show you, you know, domestic abuse, It goes both ways,
- 57:17Speaker 1: because I saw a lot of comments this week about, oh,
- 57:19Speaker 1: this is a different than what you usually hear about,
- 57:23Speaker 1: and this is this is unusual. You know, you just
- 57:26Speaker 1: assume the victim is the is the female, right, That's
- 57:28Speaker 1: what a lot of people do when you hear a
- 57:30Speaker 1: domestic abuse story on the news with a celebrity or
- 57:32Speaker 1: an athlete or someone of note, or really any situation, honestly,
- 57:36Speaker 1: but it absolutely goes both ways, and I'm sure there's
- 57:39Speaker 1: still a stigma attached to that with a lot of
- 57:41Speaker 1: men who choose not to out themselves right as a
- 57:44Speaker 1: victim because they think that it will somehow make them
- 57:48Speaker 1: less masculine. Like I'm not saying that's the case here,
- 57:51Speaker 1: but especially in a business like the wrestling business, or
- 57:55Speaker 1: really in sports in general, you don't think that that
- 57:58Speaker 1: isn't a problem with being afraid to speak up for
- 58:01Speaker 1: fear of how they'll be perceived. I'm sure it happens
- 58:04Speaker 1: way more than we'll ever know, But abuse, physical or otherwise,
- 58:09Speaker 1: is not gender specific. It is very much gender neutral,
- 58:14Speaker 1: and no matter who you are, it's not right. Nobody
- 58:18Speaker 1: should have to live like that or feel like they're
- 58:20Speaker 1: trapped at a toxic relationship and if Masha is the
- 58:23Speaker 1: monster that these people make her out to be, I
- 58:27Speaker 1: can only hope that she learns from this and becomes
- 58:29Speaker 1: a better person, because she looks absolutely awful in this
- 58:33Speaker 1: entire situation. We did get a TNA invasion on NXT
- 58:38Speaker 1: this week, lots of TNA stars in the house, many
- 58:41Speaker 1: of which were watching from the crowd. During the Title
- 58:44Speaker 1: for Title main event between Trick Williams and Obafemi for
- 58:47Speaker 1: both the NXT and TNA World Championships, Mike Santana joined
- 58:51Speaker 1: on commentary. He's wrestling Trick for the TNA title of
- 58:54Speaker 1: Bound for Glory. The match broke down after Trick slapped
- 58:57Speaker 1: Santana and Santana struck him back, which, if you think
- 59:01Speaker 1: about it, really should have been a disqualification since Trick
- 59:05Speaker 1: got hit, not Oba. Trick should be the NXT champion
- 59:08Speaker 1: right now. But all the TNA names got into the
- 59:10Speaker 1: ring and started fighting with the NXT roster. Matt Cardono
- 59:13Speaker 1: was there, Steve Macklin, Frankie Kazarian, Cedric Alexander, and others.
- 59:19Speaker 1: Then last night on the NXT No Mercy Show, General
- 59:22Speaker 1: Manager Ava announced an NXT versus TNA Invasion show. They
- 59:28Speaker 1: even brought back the old Invasion pay per view logo
- 59:31Speaker 1: from two thousand and one. It will be a special
- 59:33Speaker 1: episode of NXT on the CW Network on Tuesday, October seventh,
- 59:38Speaker 1: which just so happens to be the same night that
- 59:40Speaker 1: AW is doing its title Tuesday episode of Dynamite. They're
- 59:45Speaker 1: doing Dynamite on Tuesday and Collision on Wednesday that week
- 59:48Speaker 1: from Daily's place in Jacksonville. And so NXT's answer to
- 59:53Speaker 1: this is to do an Invasion show on Free TV
- 59:56Speaker 1: that will feature two Survivor Series style elimination match, one
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: for the men and one for the women with NXT
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: talent wrestling TNA talent. The members of each team will
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: be announced this Tuesday, I guess by their respective authority figures.
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: Ava will be there and Santino Morella will be there.
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: Plus Dark State will meet the Hardys in a battle
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: between the NXT Tag Team Champions and the TNA Tag
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: Team Champions title for title. We got the Hardys coming
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: into House of Glory three days later to challenge for
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: the hog Tag Team titles. They may well be walking
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: into the NYC Arena that Friday. Is the NXT and
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: TNA Tag Team Champions. How wild is that they should
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: win the NXT titles. It's about time somebody from the
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: TNA side took some titles from the WWE side instead
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: of the other way around. Now. I don't think WWE
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: would mind much because they probably look at the Hardys
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: as WWE guys. Anyway, Ridge Holland will not be there.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: I saw he was injured at the TNA tapings in
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: Edmonton last night in a match against Move. Looked like
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: he hurt his foot or his ankle. Couldn't put any
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: weight on it at all. Moose even helped him to
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: the back, So that is not a good sign. But
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: I watched the rest of the No Mercy card I
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: thought it was a good show. Javon Evans had himself
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: a great twenty four hours. He wrestled Sammy's Ay in
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: the US Title Open Challenge on SmackDown in what was
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: an awesome match, and then beating Josh Briggs. He didn't
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: win on Friday, but he won last night, beat Josh
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: Briggs in a good match, not nearly as great as
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: the match on Friday, but still it was a good showing.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: His stock has definitely been elevated this weekend. Jordan Grace
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: beat Blake Monroe in a weaponized steel cage match. I
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: thought that this was adequate. That's a word I should
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: probably start using more often when I review these shows. Adequate.
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: These two were better than the pink weapons and the
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: hair dryer and the diamonds and all the bullshit. Jordan won,
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: Blake lost. Get him both up on SmackDown, please as
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: soon as possible. Like I know if Shawn Michaels doesn't
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: want to give these people up, but smack that needs
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: them a lot more than NXT does. At least one
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: of them. Okay, I'm willing to compromise here at least
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: one of them, but the women's division needs them. Ethan
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: Page retained his North American title over Tavion Heights, who
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: has star potential. I didn't expect him to win here,
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: but I thought he looked good. J C. Jane keeps
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: the NXT Women's Championship over Lola Wece. Lola is someone
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: who is tabbed to be a star on the main roster.
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: I don't feel the same about Jac's chances. I think
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: Shawn Michaels likes her and she's gotten better. But when
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: I see Lola, I see a star when I see JC,
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: I don't when it comes to the main roster, I'm sorry.
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: And then in the main event, Ricky Saints ends the
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: dominant reign of Obafemi to win the NXT Championship. I
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: wasn't too surprised by the outcome here, just because what's
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: left for OBA to do on this show, right? I mean,
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: they either had to pull the trigger on Ricky here
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: or call him up to the main roster, and instead
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: it looks like OBA may be headed up soon, and
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: he should be. You know, if he isn't in the
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: same conversation with guys like Bron Breaker and Jacob Fatu,
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: then he should be, because a lot of people talk
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: about Breaker, and even on TV now, they're talking about
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: you know, Paul Hayman comes out with the same stick
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: every every fucking week, you know, And this guy's gonna
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: headline WrestleMania for five years in a row, and which
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: will be great, by the way, because that's a surefire
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: way to get people to turn against him. But yeah,
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: this guy's got a main event wrestle Mania. And people
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: say the same thing about Jacob fa too. I've been
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: saying it, but I definitely think Oba needs to be
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: in that conversation because he has all the tools to
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: be one of the men carrying this company for years
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: to come. I've set it before. Call him up and
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: give him the gunther push, start him out with one
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: of the mid card titles, and let him run undefeated
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: for at least a year. You've got Sammy Zain doing
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: the Open Challenge gimmick right now on SmackDown for the
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: United States Championship. As much as I'm gonna hate it
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: when it's over, because it's the best thing on Friday
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: nights right now. And I'm not saying do it this week,
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: but debut him in the Open Challenge and have him
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: kill Sammy to win the US title. Have him show
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: up one week and just wreck shop. That's how you
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: make a new star. And finally, TNA announced this week
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: that Mickey James and the Beautiful People Velvet Sky and
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: Angelina Love will be inducted into the TNA Hall of
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: Fame Class of twenty twenty five next month. A bound
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: for glory Mickey is a no brainer. I mean, a
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: five time knockouts champion, Velvet and Angelina they also had
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: runs his knockouts champion Gail Kim was inducted in twenty sixteen.
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: Awesome Kong was inducted in twenty twenty one. As that
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: division goes, those two were a must to go in first, right,
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: they put the knockouts on the map, and then it
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: was Tracy Brooks in twenty twenty three. Now Mickey and
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: the beautiful people are going in. So they're showing a
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: lot of love for the women and we'll see if
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: that's it. That's three. They've never inducted more than three
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: people in one class before. Now on the aaw front,
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: speaking of Gail Kim, I was going to talk about
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: this because that was the other big the Masha thing
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: I talked about. But the other big controversy exploded on
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: social media had to do with Gail Kim responding to
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: somebody on Twitter and then giving her opinions on ReHO
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: based on a clip that she saw from many years ago.
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: And people did not like Gail's opinion about ReHO. And
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: I didn't think that what Gail said, honestly, with that
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: initial opinion was any big deal. I really didn't see
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: what the big deal was. People talk about ReHO being bullied.
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: She wasn't bullying ReHO. Okay, these people need to stop.
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: She wasn't bullying ReHO with that first comment she made.
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: Rehos not even on social media anymore, at least not Twitter,
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: because she was bullied off the platform a few years ago,
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: and people said some very unkind unnecessary, disgusting things about
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: her to equate these comments that Gail made, and it's like,
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: are you not allowed to have an opinion about somebody?
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: Apparently just having an opinion now is bullying. So I
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: was gonna get into the specifics of what was said
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: and everything, but then Gail has been tweeting the entire weekend.
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: This has been going on for days now. She has
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: been replying to everybody who will tweet her. She has
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: been quote tweeting and replying. I just stopped tracking this
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: shit after a while because it just got to the
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: point where it's like, I don't know what the fuck
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: she's doing. I really don't. Now she's getting into it
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: with every single person control and everybody who has something
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: to say, and she's just going back and forth and
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: it's exhausting, and I just said, you know what, fuck this,
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: I'm not gonna I'm not even gonna talk about this.
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: I'm not even gonna get into the nuts and bolts
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: of this. How does she have time in her day
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: to respond in the way that she has been responding
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: to all of these people? Is this all she does?
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: There's responding to a few people, and then there's whatever
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: the hell this has been? So you know what, fuck it.
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: I have nothing else to say about this situation. Whatever
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: she says from here on out let her answer for it.
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: I have nothing else to contribute to this. Today's episode

- 1:09:06Speaker 1: dynamite coming out of All Out was in Pittsburgh on Wednesday,
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: and there was no Britt Baker, which tells you all
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: you need to know about her standing in the company
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: and whether they intend to ever bring her back. They
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: don't because if they did, that would have been the
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: place to do it, so she is benched until her
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: contract is up. Not the best follow up to the
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: pay per view. I don't understand how you don't put
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: a live microphone in Eddie Kingston's hand and let him
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: talk to the people after sixteen months on the shelf.
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: Like Eddie, more than most in this company, has a
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: very special connection to the fans, and he was gone
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: for a very long time. He wasn't even on the show.
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: They saved him for a tag team match on Collision instead.
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: I thought that was a missed opportunity. But there were
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: some solid matches on the show. They had a good
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: angle at the very end with Chris Statlander, who defended
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: her newly won Women's World title in the main event
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: against Mina Shirakawa, she rejected an invitation to join the
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: Death Riders. After that, Darby Allen walked out with a
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: flamethrower to chase away John Moxley and the Death Riders
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: and issued the challenge to an I Quit match with
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: Moxley at Wressel Dream The Statlanders stuff was good, though,
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: Brody King and Bendido. They retained their aw tag team
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: titles over the Gates of Agony. Coming off their win
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: with Ricochet over the Hurt Syndicated All Out. They were
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: due for a trios title match, but they claimed that
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: Kattiori Shabbata was not medically cleared to Wressel, so they
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: got a tag team title match instead. I don't know
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: why it needed to be for the titles if they
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: were just going to beat them, but the right team
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: won anyway, So long as they do the match for
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: the trio's titles, I would put the belts on Ricochet
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: and Goa. And if they don't, since they already lost
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: to Brodido, I don't know where they go from here.
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: Orange Cassidy is back. He teamed up with Mark Briscoe
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: and Hologram against Okata, Takeshta and Hetcheesero. I take it
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: the plan may have been to have Brisco challenge Okatta
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: soon for the unified title, or it should be. If
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: it isn't, it should be right. I mean, he just
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: picked up the biggest win of his AW career over
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: MJF at all out, a former AW World champion, mind you,
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: the longest reigning AW World champion of all time. If
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: Brisco is not next in line to challenge Hangman, then
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: a match with Okada should be the goal. But I
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: thought they really needed to make a bigger deal out
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: of him beating MJF and they really didn't. But it
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: was Hologram who picked up the win here. Because Hologram
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: was supposed to be challenging Kyle Fletcher for the TNT
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: Championship this week on the six year anniversary episode of Dynamite.
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: It was to have been title versus streak since Hologram
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: is undefeated at thirty four to oh take that, Undertaker,
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: and they've also been teasing the arrival of Hologram's evil
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: Lucha twin el Clone, so l Clone was probably going
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: to cost Hologram his streak on Wednesday, but the match
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: is now off after they opened Collision last night with
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: Kyle Fletcher attacking Hologram backstage. This felt like their way
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: of writing him off as quickly as possible. Tony con
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: now says that Hologram suffered significant injuries and is likely
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: out for the rest of twenty twenty five. This does
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: not feel like an angle to me, so he must
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: have gotten hurt, although I don't know how or where
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: it would have happened. It would have, I guess had
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: to have been in the Trios match on Wednesday, but
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. So instead
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: of title versus Streak, it's now going to be Orange
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: Cassidy challenging for the TNT Championship and likely losing his
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: first singles match back. What that means for l Clone,
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: who knows. Maybe they'll debut him anyway. I would debut
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: him anyway. Debut him anyway, let him run up his
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: own thirty four and oh streak so that when Hologram
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: comes back, they could do Streak against Streak and all
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: two hundred and thirty five thousand fans watching on Collision
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: will rejoice. That's what they did two weeks ago. College
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: football is really kicking their ass right now. By the way,
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: They announced randomly last night that Kenny Omega is back
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: on Dynamite this week to team with Brody King and
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: Bandido against Josh Alexander and the Young Bucks. The last
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: time we saw Omega, he was stretchered out of the
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: twenty three hundred Arena by Kyle Fletcher. But apparently Kenny
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: Omega just wants to get back in the ring here.
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: They want him back in the ring on this anniversary show.
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: But that should be the Wrestle dream match, Fletcher against Omega,
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: and if they do it, Kyle Fletcher needs to beat
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: Kenny Omega. He lost to Hangman already didn't win the
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: world title. I don't think anybody expected him to, but
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: he says he proved that he could hang by going
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: forty minutes with Hangman Page. That's great. What's the excuse
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: if he loses to Kenny. You already prove that you
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: can hang, right, That's not enough. You're the TNT champion.
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: What good does it do him now? If he goes
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: in there and loses, that's a match he should be winning.
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: Hangman Page defended the aw World Championship on Wednesday in
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: an open challenge against Lee Moriarty. The reigning Ring of
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: Honor Pure Champion. Since they were in Moriarty's hometown of Pittsburgh.
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: I guess Mark Briscoe's great sin was being born in
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: Delaware and not being born in Pittsburgh or else Maybe
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: he would have gotten the match with Hangman. See that
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: would have made far more sense, Ashley, I'll tell you what,
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: setting up a title match between Page and brisco for
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: the Anniversary show this week that would have made the
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: most sense. And then really drive home how much that
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: match means to Mark Briscoe and what his brother would
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: have thought, Like, really rally the fans behind this man
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: for this major match, the biggest of his career, fighting
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: for the world championship. And then if you want Hangman
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: to go off with a member of the Death Riders
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: at Wrestle Dream for the title, which is what it
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: looks like they're doing, then you can have the Death
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: Riders spoil the party at the end of the match,
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: or you could have the Kallis family so Briscoe could
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: go off and fight with them. Instead, they gave us
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: Hangman against a low level name that's never on Dynamite
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: and who should not be wrestling for the world title
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: in the second match on the show on Wednesday, since
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: Hangman was doing a run in later, they had him
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: come out to save the Ops from the death Riders,
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: so they put his aw World title match on second
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: from the bottom. And then this Wednesday we're getting Hangman
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: in the Ops against Moxley Claudio and Daniel Garcia, which
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: is far less appealing than a Hangman brisco title match
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: would have been. It's just one of those booking pet
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: peeves that I have. You know, we spent weeks watching
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: Hangman tell MJF you get no title match. You want
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: to wrestle for the championship. You got to cash in
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: that contract because you haven't earned it. You've got to
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: prove to me that you can earn a shot on
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: your own. Evidently, the champion gets to call his own shots.
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: So Mark Briscoe beats MJF. But Hangman doesn't think Briscoe
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: I was deserving of a shot. I guess he hasn't
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: earned it, but Lee Mori already has because he's from Pittsburgh. Okay.
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: But the big announcement on the show that was promoted
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: for days. Tony Kahan's important announcement was the addition of
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: new women's tag team titles, titles that were created over
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: a year ago and have been sitting in a safe
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: collecting dust. He was waiting for the right time to
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: unveil them. And look, the last thing this company needs
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: are more belts. I saw Mina Sheerra Cowell walking out
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: for her match with Chris stat Lander with a belt,
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: and it took me a while to figure out what
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: fucking belt she was wearing around her waist. She is
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: the interim television champion in Ring of Honor because the champion,
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: Red Velvet's been out hurt since June. It's almost October.
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: You would have to go all the way back to
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: April to find the last time that TV title was
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: even defended. Why does Ring of Honor need an interom
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: champion for the women's TV title? Just strip her of
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: the fucking belt? Why? Because she's been champion for over
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: a year. You don't want to ruin that run? Who cares?
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: Nobody cares. The title is not that important that it
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: needs an interim version. But there was Mina with the
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: interim title, and we've got roh belts all over these
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: shows again. So this is the last thing this company needs.
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: Are more belts, but they have them now, and the
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: best thing I could say about this is that they're
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: in a much better position to actually have them than WWE,
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: for example, because unlike WWE, AW has more of an
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: actual division. They've been pairing different women up now for
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: months in preparation for this. They have the teams to
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: make this work if he really puts the effort into it.
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: You've got Tony Storm, who just lost her World championship.
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: She was practically catatonic at the end of that match,
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: it all out. I don't know what the direction is
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: for her, but Tony and Mina, I could see them
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: being a team Mina. Just before her match on Wednesday,
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: Mina was talking about Tony st in the back. I
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: haven't talked to her, but you know I'm here for her.
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: I'm you know, I'm her best friend. I could see
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: Tony and Mina becoming a team. Chris Statlander is the
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: AW Women's World Champion. It doesn't mean that she can't
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: also go for the tag team titles. Her and Harley Cameron,
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: or at some point her and Willow Nightingale. I'm sure
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: they're gonna end up being a team. You've got Megan
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: Bain and Penelope Ford. You've got Sky Blue and Julia Hart.
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: You've got Anna j and Tyme Mellow. You've got Athena
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: and Billy Starks. You could put them together as a team.
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: That would be a way to keep Athena on AW television.
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: I mean, Tony Kahn says that Athena is all banged up.
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: That's the only reason we haven't seen her. Diana Parrazzo
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: and Tia Valkyrie. I mean, nobody would benefit more from
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: this than Deanna Parazzo and Tia Valkyrie. They can't buy
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: themselves time, you know how they have those infomercials, they
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: have those time buys. They can't buy themselves time on
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: this show. So for someone like that like Deanna and Tya,
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: this could be a great thing. And of course she
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: got Mercedes over in the corner. She's licking her chops
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: right now trying to find a partner for this. You know,
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: she got that little shiver up her spine when Tony
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: was making that announcement and unveiling these belts. Not only
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: are the women getting tag team belts, but they're also
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: getting the first ever blood and guts match for the
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: women in AW after Jamie Hayter beat Julia Hart on
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: Collision last night, she was attacked by Tekla and sky
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: Blue Queen am Nada ran out to even the odds,
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: and Hater said she was sick of this and there
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: was only one way to settle all of this three words,
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: blood and guts. And if ever it felt like there
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: was a time to do one with the women, this
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: is it, especially because there's no need to do one
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: with the men this year. They did not give any
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: other details about who would be involved or when the
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: match is taking place, but my guess would be the
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: homecoming show at Daily's Place. They're going back home for
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: Title Tuesday on October seventh, and then they also have
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: a home coming up episode of Collision the next night,
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: So if they want to load up the show against
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: the NXTT and a invasion special on October seventh, then
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: you do it on Dynamite. But honestly, this is really
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: a lot of the stories with these women in these
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: feuds have been playing out on Collision, not so much
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: on Dynamite, So I could see it happening either one
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: of those two nights. But Daly's Place feels like the
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: right place for this. It's the place where they did
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: the first ever blooding Guts match. So what are we
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: thinking here? We got Jamie Hayter, Queen Aminada. Maybe throw
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: Chris Statlander in there, Willow and what maybe Tony Storm.
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: That's five against Tecla, Julia Hart Sky Blue. You could
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: have Marina Shaffir in there if Willow is on the
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: other side, since they've been beefing lately. But then who's
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: the fifth member. Mercedes is the only other one I
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: could think of. I mean, she really doesn't have anything
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: to do with any of this though, unless you do
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: Tony Storm, Mina Shirakawa, Chris Statlander, Jamie Hayter and Queen
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: Amanada and they take on the Triangle of Madness Megan
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: Bain and Penelope Fourth, then you have five Jurassic Express.
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: They were not on the show this week. They just
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: reunited it all out. They were not on the show
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: at all on Wednesday. They had a brief video package.
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: They're saving them for the anniversary show this Wednesday. And
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: Adam Copeland is gone for a while. He's going to
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: be filming for the third season of Percy Jackson and
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: the Olympians for Disney Plus. So no, he is not
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: wrestling John Cena in his final match. I don't know
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: where this got started, probably just people assuming, oh, the
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: timing of it, and then they let their imaginations run wild.
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: But this became a thing on social media this week
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: where maybe Adam Copeland is going back to WWE to
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: wrestle John Cena in his final match on Saturday Night's
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: main event. In your dreams, it's not happening. Do not
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: set yourself up for disappointment. If that is the match
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: that you are looking forward to, you are not getting it.
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: He is not going back to WWE. And frankly, even
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: if his contract was up next month, and I think
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: maybe this is where it started, people started putting pieces together, Oh,
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: his contract is up in October. In fact, I think
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: his contract is up in October of next year. But
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: even if you assumed his contract was up next month,
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: you don't think Tony Kahan is well aware of all
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: the chatter about him going back and doing this retirement
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: match with John Cena. He broke his leg. He was
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: out for like eight months. Like Tony would have so
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: much injury time that he could tack onto this guy's contract.
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: It there's no possible scenario in which this happens, but
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: I will say it was very entertaining looking at people
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: trying to explain how well it's possible. There's a chance, No,
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: there isn't. Some other news and notes all movie related.
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: Per deadline dot Com, Drew McIntyre has been cast for
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: a role in the upcoming Highlander reboot. This just seems
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: so perfect for him. This is set to star Henry
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: Cavell as Connor McLeod. Mcmcintyre will star opposite Cavell as
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: his older brother Angus. Dave Battista has been cast as Kurgan,
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: the villain of the film. Russell Crowe, Karen Gillen, and
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: Jimen Hansu have also been cast in the movie. The
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: project was in pre production earlier this month before everything
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: was halted when Cavell was injured during training. Production is
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: expected to begin in early twenty twenty six. The original
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: Highlander film was released in nineteen eighty six, followed by
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: several spin offs and a weekly series following the adventures
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: of Connor McLeod, one of many immortals at war with
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: each other until there is only one left. Yes, you know,
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: I never won the Highlanders series on a regular basis,
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: I would see episodes here and there. I think it
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: probably started in like nineteen ninety two or something, But
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: I still remember the theme song. I still remember the
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: theme song and the whole premise that the only way
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: you could kill him was to chop his head off.
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: But that song is still stuck in my head. And
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: two days after I answered a question on the podcast
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: about wrestlers that would have made great movie characters, we
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: got this exclusive from Deadline dot com on Tuesday. Artists
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: for Artists, the production company of Keenan Thompson and Johnny
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: Ryan Junior is developing a feature biopic on iconic wrestler
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: Macho Man Randy Savage. We can tell you first. Thompson
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: and Ryan Junior come to the project, titled Macho as
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: lifelong fans of Savage, Thompson having worked with Savage on
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: a Nickelodeon promo all the way back in nineteen ninety nine.
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: The project stems from a completed script by Savage's brother
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: Landy Poff, who died in February of twenty twenty three,
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: and Eric Shapiro. In a statement to Deadline, AFA's Ryan
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: Juniors said Macho Man Randy Savage was the greatest showman
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: of all time and the og bad boy of entertainment.
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: His outfits were as electric as his personality. And he's
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: so much more than an artist, He's an icon. Lanny
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: and Eric did a great job capturing this story in
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: the crazy eighties wrestling era that turned wrestling figures into
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: lifelong pop culture icons. Ryan Junior's partner Keenan Thompson told
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: us beyond excited for this one. Macho Man his hands
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: down one of the greatest of all time and can't
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: wait to bring his story to the screen. Here you go.
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: One of the wrestlers I said last week who would
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: have made a great movie character was Macho Man Randy Savage.
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: And now we hear they're making a movie about Macho
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: Man Randy Savage. What else can I manifest into reality?
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: All right, let's get to your mailbag questions. You can
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: email me the Solomn Monster at gmail dot com. Please
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: include your name of where you are from when you
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: write in we got Damon in Jacksonville. I agree with
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: you that it seems we are heading to wargames with
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: Sena and Brock on opposing teams. I also agree that
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: Brock will likely be seen his last opponent. In telling
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: this story, how likely is it that Brock pins Sena
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: in Wargames? It furthers the story of his dominance over
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: Sena and thus prompt Seena to challenge Brock one final
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: time in his last match. Well, you could tell that
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: this email came in prior to the reports that came
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: out this week, and if the reports are to be believed,
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: we are not getting Brock Lesner as John Cena's final opponent,
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: which is just fine by me, but again, it makes
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: what we saw Wressell Paluza look even dumber. If they
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: do end up in war Games together and the plan,
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: let's say was for Brock to be his final opponent,
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: then yes, Brock beating Sena again in war Games would
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: make sense. You know, with Scena demanding one last showdown
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: with Brock, you know where it's do or die, last chance,
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: But it doesn't look like that's going to be happening.
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: Carlos from Gaithersburg, what are the chances that seen his
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: final opponent is the Rock. It's a big name, main
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: event match, and there was a story there considering Sina
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: was Rock's enforcer for his failed exorcism of Cody Rhodes.
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: I have no interest in seeing it, and I don't
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: think there's a very good chance of that happening. I
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: don't know what Rock is his schedule is. I know
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: he lost a bunch of weight to play the Chicken
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: Men in some new movie. I don't know when that's filming.
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: I don't know when that's gonna be done filming. But
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: it doesn't matter. I mean, the match is not that
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: long away, right that December thirteenth date, It's really not
- 1:27:34Speaker 1: that far off. And if Rock just lost all that
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: weight and you saw the way he actually looks healthy now,
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: he looks he looks like a normal person now. But
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: even if he was to film this role and then
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: have some time to try to train, like see, I
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: don't see it. You're not gonna get the Final Boss
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: Rock in time for that match. He doesn't look like
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: the Final Boss. So I don't think it's happening anyway.
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: But I think just physically, I don't know that he
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: can get himself into shape he would want to be
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: in to be in that match. So the answer is no.
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: David from Sacramento, I wanted to run this idea by you.
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: How would you feel if aj Lee challenges Becky Lynch
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: for the Intercontinental Championship, but is screwed over by Nicky
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: Bella to subway into that feud for a brief time,
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: the story being that Nicky has been outshined and overlooked
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: upon AJ's return. Would this be a good story to
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: distract AJ and then she could come back to Becky
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: sometime next year. If the idea is to wait to
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: have Becky lose to AJ for the title of WrestleMania,
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: let's say then sure. I mean you can have her
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: go off and do any number of things with different people.
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: I mean I personally, if you're asking me, I have
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: no interest in seeing AJ Lee against Nicki Bella. But
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: if they wanted to go heal with Nicki, that would
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: be a natural explanation for it. You also have to
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: have her bring up the fact then that she passed
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: AJ's record as the longest reigning Divish champion of all time.
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: There's that little bit of history there to play off of.
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: But I mean, I didn't want to see AJ and
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: Nikki Bella back then, why would I want to see
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: it now? Chris from North Jersey, do you think Triple
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: H getting the nod this year? And Stephanie getting in
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: next year to the Hall of Fame is a signed
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: that they are a firing triple H soon B selling
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: the company soon see both A and B. D Lack
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: of headliners or E none of the above. I mean
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: they are running low on headliners, you know. They look
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: they could put Sena in as early as next year
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: if he's available all right, once he's retired, it's just
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: a matter of picking the right year for John Cena
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: to go into the Hall of Fame. Rock also still
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: has to go in. Batista still has to go in.
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: If Jericho comes back, he'll be in big show eventually,
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: he's got to go into But he's still with aw
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: But it's a combination of wanting a big name in
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: there and not having that many left to choose from,
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: you know, or at least the ones that are available.
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: And also he's putting his wife in the Hall of Fame.
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: I mean, I'm not saying that she doesn't belong in there.
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: She would have gotten in there eventually, as will Vince
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: and aswill Shane. But it's his wife. You know, he
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: wanted to put his wife in the Hall of Fame.
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: That's just what it comes down to. It's exactly what
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: it looks like, you know, because in his mind, she's
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: this iconic figure when it comes to women in wrestling,
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: and she more than deserves it. But it's his fucking wife,
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: so of course he's going to want to put her in.
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: They're not selling the company and he's not getting fired
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: anytime soon, so it's not that green from Morocco. Rank
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: these legendary referees Earl Hebner, Mike Keyota, Tim White, and
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: Charles Robinson. Those are four of the greats right there
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: that you just named. Tommy Young is another one. I
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: got to throw him in their iconic and wa referee
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: and probably red Shoes in Japan red Shoes Whuno. But
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: of those four, I am partial to Earl Hebner at
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: number one because he refed all the big matches of
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: my wrestling youth, and he took some of the biggest
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: bumps too. Now I see where he also loved the camera,
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: and he would put himself in situations where he should
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: have been in the background. I can see why some
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: people really don't like him. There's some people that don't
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: like the cadence of his counts as well. They thought
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: that the way he would count near falls, gave a
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: way that it wasn't going to be a three count.
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: I honestly never really noticed that with him. There are
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: certain referees who had a very weird cadence. Nick Patrick
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: and WCW was one of those people. I never liked
- 1:31:44Speaker 1: the way that he counted it just it was just
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: very strange to me. So I just never thought much
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: of him as a referee. But again, so with Earl Hebner,
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: you'll get a mixed opinion. But for me, he's got
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: to be number one, and then I would go Charles Robinson,
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: and then Kiyota and then Tim White. Jabron from Germany.
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: This weekend, Brett Hart was in Germany for an event
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: and I finally got a chance to meet him in person.
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: He was super nice and friendly, which gave me a
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: chance to put up a quick question. One of my
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: all time favorite matches is the Survivor Series nineteen ninety
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: five match between Brett and Diesel. Apart from the excellent
- 1:32:26Speaker 1: match they had together, what made this match even more
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: special for me as a kid was the table spot.
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: I asked Brett who came up with that, and he
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: confirmed that it was his idea and also admitted that
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: the gimmick table was a really hard one to go through.
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: As a ten year old at the time, I had
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: never seen a wrestler go through a table before, and
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: I'm quite sure this was a very, very unique spot
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: in mainstream pro wrestling at the time. Table break itself
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: was picture perfect, and you can see from the crab
- 1:32:53Speaker 1: reaction how special that moment was. Maybe I'm a bit
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: biased since Brett is my favorite wrestler of all time,
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: but I truly feel this is such an underrated moment
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: in WWE history, and a moment which made table spots
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: a staple of modern pro wrestling. I don't think Brett
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: gets credit for introducing the table. He puts introducing in
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: quotes the table spot to mainstream audiences. What do you think? So?
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: First off, very cool photos he shared with me, so
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: I thank you for sharing that. I have met Brett
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: in person. I met him at Caroline's on Broadway here
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: in New York for a signing many years ago. It
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: was him and Rick Flair. I got my Spotlight magazine,
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: my WWF Spotlight magazine signed from nineteen ninety four with
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: Brett on the cover. I have it framed. Never got
- 1:33:40Speaker 1: a photo with him, though that's still on my list
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: of things to do. I almost had the chance to
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: host a Q and A with him this summer, but
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: it fell through. That would have been very cool. But
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: as far as introducing the table spot to mainstream audiences,
- 1:33:55Speaker 1: I mean, there have been table spots in wrestling going
- 1:33:58Speaker 1: back to at least the seventies in some of the territories.
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: I'm sure mainstream. Brett was not the first. I mean mainstream.
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: The earliest one that I personally remember was from the
- 1:34:10Speaker 1: Hulk Hogan Harley race match on Saturday Night's Main Event,
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: so that would have been in eighty eight. I believe
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: that was the spot where Harley came off the apron
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: very slowly, but he came off the apron. He literally
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: just fell off the apron, more so than he didn't
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: jump off so much as he fell off. Hogan moved
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: and Harley landed belly first through the table and he
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: injured himself very badly. The spot itself, if you watch it,
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: it doesn't look bad. It's just that internally he really
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: fucked himself up and he needed surgery. And that was
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: a Hulk Hogan match on NBC in the middle of
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: the Hogan Era like I would say, it doesn't get
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: more mainstream than that back then. And then in eighty nine.
- 1:34:56Speaker 1: The following year, there was a famous angle where Terry
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: Funk gave Rick Flair pile driver on top of a table.
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: I don't remember if that was a Clash of the
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: champions or if it was Wressell War, but it was.
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: You know, it was an NWA event. So no, Brett
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: was not the first to do it, but you could
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: say he was the first to popularize it in the
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: WWF since it's the one most people probably remember unless
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: you were an ECW fan and you saw shit like
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: that all the time. Alberto from Laredo, Texas, I was
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: wondering if you could tell us about the match between
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: Rhino and Tijeri. He was a house show match that
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: Vince McMahon found so boring he came out in the
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: middle of it and stopped it. Have there been other
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: stories similar to this. There was a house show here
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: at the Nassau Coliseum. Rhino into Jerry, they had a match.
- 1:35:50Speaker 1: There was an agent. I don't know who the agent was.
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: I don't think Rhino ever said who it was, but
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: according to him, the agent told them before the match,
- 1:35:57Speaker 1: if the fans chant boring at you just grab a
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: hold and sit on it. And sure enough, the fans
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: started chanting boring because NASA is a tough building. Notoriously
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: it always has been, which is probably why the agent
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: said that. I mean, I was at a raw show
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: in two thousand and one. Had to be two thousand
- 1:36:15Speaker 1: and one, because Paul Hayman was on commentary during one
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: of the commercial breaks, Hayman and I'm sure they had
- 1:36:21Speaker 1: him do this, but Hayman put his headset down, he
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: stood up, he stood on the stairs outside the ring steps,
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: and he took the house mic and he called us
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: the worst crowd in the history of wrestling. That's that
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: Assau Coliseum. And then he went back to commentary and
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: the show continued after insulting the audience. So anyway, they
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: start chanting boring and Vince marches to the ring and
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: he tells them to get out. The match is over.
- 1:36:48Speaker 1: Rhino thought he was joking, and then the referees like,
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: I think he's serious. So he kicked these two men
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: out of the ring in the middle of their match,
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: embarrassed them in front of thousands of people so he
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: could get an early start to the bikini contest that
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: they were doing with Sable and Tory Wilson and whoever
- 1:37:06Speaker 1: else was out there. I think Vince was the EMC
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: for it. So then later on, when Rhino confronts Vince
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: about it, he said that Vince told him the fans
- 1:37:14Speaker 1: were chanting, boring, the two of you, and he told Vince,
- 1:37:17Speaker 1: he said, one of your agents told us that if
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: they chant boring, to just grab a hold, and Vince
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: tells him, well, obviously that agent wasn't a top guy.
- 1:37:26Speaker 1: Top guys saved their money so they don't have to
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: become agents. But he says Vince must have felt bad
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: about doing that because the check that he got you know, however,
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: many weeks later for the match that night was a
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: lot bigger than it usually was. He got a good
- 1:37:42Speaker 1: payoff for that match, So, I mean, I can't think
- 1:37:46Speaker 1: of any other stories of Vince storming out to the
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: ring like that, other than the Royal Rumble where Cina
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: and Batista fell out of the ring at the same time,
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: and then Vince was all pissed off and he marched
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: down to the ring and he tore a squad. I mean,
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: there had been stories about him not liking matches. I mean,
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: there was it in your house in Winnipeg with a
- 1:38:04Speaker 1: fucking terrible main event between Diesel and the British Bulldog
- 1:38:08Speaker 1: that was so bad. When the show went off the air,
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: Vince threw his headset down in disgusted. I remember that.
- 1:38:15Speaker 1: But I mean, that's the closest thing I could think of.
- 1:38:17Speaker 1: I can't think of anything else. Kennedy from Orlando, Florida.
- 1:38:23Speaker 1: What are your top five wrestlers who were the biggest
- 1:38:26Speaker 1: waste of potential, people that completely ruined their own careers?
- 1:38:32Speaker 1: All right, So that's an important distinction to make, because
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: you have people whose careers were ruined by others and
- 1:38:37Speaker 1: by booking, But then you have people who were basically
- 1:38:41Speaker 1: their own worst enemy and couldn't get out of their
- 1:38:43Speaker 1: own way. This is probably closer to a top ten
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: than it is a top five. I don't know how
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: I would rank them. I jotted down a bunch of
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: names here. I'm not ranking them necessarily. I will say
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: this though, Teddy Hart has to be at the top
- 1:38:57Speaker 1: of any list. Teddy Hart is somebody who had a
- 1:38:59Speaker 1: world of potential and should have been much much bigger
- 1:39:03Speaker 1: than he was, and through no one's fault but his own.
- 1:39:07Speaker 1: He was not. When I think of wasted potential, Teddy
- 1:39:11Speaker 1: Hart is at the top of the list. Another guy,
- 1:39:15Speaker 1: and you may or may not hear this name mentioned,
- 1:39:17Speaker 1: but another guy is Buddy Landell. Nature boy. Buddy Landell.
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: How many nature boys have there been? We had Buddy Rogers, right,
- 1:39:25Speaker 1: we had Rick Flair, we had Buddy Landell. I'm sure
- 1:39:28Speaker 1: there were others. What is a nature boy exactly? Still
- 1:39:33Speaker 1: haven't answered that question. Buddy Landell. This is a guy
- 1:39:36Speaker 1: who should have had a Hall of Fame career. Dusty
- 1:39:39Speaker 1: Rhodes was going to book him against Flair to win
- 1:39:41Speaker 1: the NWA title right the Battle of the Nature Boys,
- 1:39:44Speaker 1: because their matches were doing big business, and the problem
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: is the booze and the drugs they took over. I
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: think he missed the TV taping that he was booked
- 1:39:53Speaker 1: for and Dusty fired him. I know years later Jim Cornett,
- 1:39:59Speaker 1: because he's talking this, He's talked about the Moon River
- 1:40:01Speaker 1: incident years later in Smoky Mountain, and he liked Buddy.
- 1:40:06Speaker 1: But you know, there was a good buddy and there
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: was a bad buddy, and in that one he was
- 1:40:11Speaker 1: booked in an I quit match with someone that he
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: didn't like, and so he's trapped in a submission hold,
- 1:40:16Speaker 1: and when the referee holds the microphone to his mouth
- 1:40:18Speaker 1: and asks him, do you give up? He starts singing
- 1:40:20Speaker 1: Moon River, which sounds funny, but Cornett didn't find it
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: very funny and he fired him. But I remember they
- 1:40:29Speaker 1: brought him into the WWF and like the end of
- 1:40:32Speaker 1: ninety five, I think they brought him in for like
- 1:40:34Speaker 1: a week. He did a bunch of matches, right he
- 1:40:37Speaker 1: wrestled on Ed Johnson on In Your House pay per view.
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: I remember that. I want to say it was the
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: night that Jeff Jarrett came back to the company, because
- 1:40:45Speaker 1: Jarrett had lost the Intercontinental title to Shawn Michaels in
- 1:40:49Speaker 1: July at In Your House and then him and Road
- 1:40:52Speaker 1: Doug they literally left the building like they stormed out.
- 1:40:56Speaker 1: Road Doug. I think did it more just in solidarity
- 1:40:58Speaker 1: with him, but Jarrett just was not happy with the
- 1:41:01Speaker 1: booking and he was gone. He was gone for a
- 1:41:04Speaker 1: few months, but he came back at the end of
- 1:41:06Speaker 1: the year, and I think he was there that night,
- 1:41:08Speaker 1: but instead of him wrestling, if I'm remembering this correctly,
- 1:41:12Speaker 1: he brought out Buddy Landell, who of course got killed
- 1:41:15Speaker 1: by Ahmed Johnson. But then he worked a bunch of
- 1:41:18Speaker 1: matches that week for like some of the tapings, he
- 1:41:21Speaker 1: wrestled Brett Hart for the WWF title. So that was
- 1:41:26Speaker 1: the end of ninety five and obviously they didn't call
- 1:41:29Speaker 1: him back after that week. I think the last match
- 1:41:33Speaker 1: he ever worked for them was against Triple H. It
- 1:41:35Speaker 1: was on like a shotgun Saturday night taping and it
- 1:41:38Speaker 1: was during the Attitude era. This so this was years
- 1:41:40Speaker 1: later after that. I can't remember a fucking thing that
- 1:41:43Speaker 1: he did. But you know, as they say, he fumbled.
- 1:41:49Speaker 1: This wasn't Vince McMahon's fault, this wasn't any other person's fault,
- 1:41:53Speaker 1: but his own. Buddy fumbled. He fumbled what should have
- 1:41:57Speaker 1: been a Hall of Fame career because he was unreliable
- 1:41:59Speaker 1: and out of control. Matt Bourne is another one. Just
- 1:42:04Speaker 1: watch the Dark Side of the Ring episode they did
- 1:42:06Speaker 1: on him. Matt Bourne was immensely talented. He was also,
- 1:42:11Speaker 1: from the sounds of it, a piece of shit, but
- 1:42:13Speaker 1: he was immensely talented. I mean, evil doink, Come on, man,
- 1:42:17Speaker 1: that should have been a bigger run than it was.
- 1:42:19Speaker 1: So there was more potential for him to be a
- 1:42:21Speaker 1: bigger star than he was. Two names I talked about
- 1:42:25Speaker 1: last week. Somebody asked me in the mailbag low Key
- 1:42:29Speaker 1: and Austin Airis just couldn't seem to get out of
- 1:42:32Speaker 1: their own way. Matt Riddle. We've seen Matt Riddle in
- 1:42:36Speaker 1: the news. Matt Riddle should have been a world heavyweight
- 1:42:39Speaker 1: champion in WWE. The reason he isn't has nothing to
- 1:42:43Speaker 1: do with WWE velveteen dream talk about wasted potential. He
- 1:42:49Speaker 1: would have been a world champion as well on the
- 1:42:51Speaker 1: main roster. Tessa Blanchard. Tessa Blanchard should have already headlined
- 1:42:55Speaker 1: a WrestleMania with Charlotte Flair. She should already be in WWA.
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: She may eventually get there yet, but her career is
- 1:43:03Speaker 1: stalled out, not because of anybody but herself. So those
- 1:43:09Speaker 1: are some of the names that I would have on
- 1:43:10Speaker 1: that list. I'm sure we could add others, but keep
- 1:43:13Speaker 1: emailing me to solom Monster at gmail dot com. I
- 1:43:16Speaker 1: do read everything you send me, even if I can't
- 1:43:18Speaker 1: get to it all, but I will try to follow
- 1:43:21Speaker 1: me on x at solo Monster, that is where I
- 1:43:24Speaker 1: am most active, and of course on the YouTube channel.
- 1:43:26Speaker 1: I'll be live this week for the Raw post show

- 1:44:06Speaker 1: the show with the contract signing with Drew McIntyre, wh
- 1:44:08Speaker 1: and Cody Rose. Andrew said, no, Cody doesn't even think
- 1:44:11Speaker 1: about himself. He thinks about what's best for the company.
- 1:44:14Speaker 1: He's the corporate champion. So he says, they, being the fans,
- 1:44:17Speaker 1: are going to turn on you because you're the flavor
- 1:44:19Speaker 1: of the money. And then Cody is gonna say Drew
- 1:44:21Speaker 1: was right. Cody said, if Drew is wrong, his legacy
- 1:44:23Speaker 1: then becomes the man who lost to Cody on their
- 1:44:26Speaker 1: debut espn PL. E Let's talk about a mouthful here.
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: He definitely went into corporate Cody mode. Here, do you
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: lose to me? You're gonna be the guy who lost

- 1:44:40Speaker 1: WWE Championship presented by Netflix. The fuck up, dude, I
- 1:44:44Speaker 1: want Drew to win the title. Fuck it, put the
- 1:44:46Speaker 1: title and Drew. Shake this shit out and just put
- 1:44:48Speaker 1: the title on Drew. I officially I think I've turned
- 1:44:51Speaker 1: on Cody here in this promo. I think Drew was right.
- 1:44:53Speaker 1: He's way too corporate for my liking. The solom Monster
