- 1:31Speaker 4: to wake up and join the show. Come on you, Greg,
- 1:35Speaker 4: are you a cupcake guy?
- 1:40Speaker 1: Yes?
- 1:41Speaker 4: Okay, okay, it wasn't a trick question. I had some
- 1:44Speaker 4: cupcakes over here.
- 1:45Speaker 8: You're gonna have to say it with some bass in
- 1:47Speaker 8: your voice.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Fish, I had some cupcakes. I want it. Should I even.
- 1:53Speaker 4: Worry about offering you one because I know you'd be
- 1:56Speaker 4: you have different kind of eating trends that you be.
- 1:59Speaker 1: On one.
- 2:03Speaker 9: Because of the some of the colors, will I will
- 2:06Speaker 9: politely decline.
- 2:07Speaker 8: Because of the color. Now what does the color mean?
- 2:12Speaker 10: Uh?
- 2:14Speaker 4: Because all of them, all of them are vanilla. They
- 2:18Speaker 4: just have a different icing on top. What did the icing?
- 2:21Speaker 4: It's the icing?
- 2:22Speaker 1: Uh?
- 2:23Speaker 4: And which color of icing are you allergic to? Because
- 2:27Speaker 4: that's how you made it sound like it's.
- 2:28Speaker 5: The he's talking about thee the dye and all that
- 2:32Speaker 5: and the color proper.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Oh, that's the part that's going to.
- 2:39Speaker 9: I won't I won't enjoy it. And then you know
- 2:41Speaker 9: it may look and it seem insulting to you after.
- 2:44Speaker 8: Offering okay, so the line key lime, look.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Oh that's key lime. I would have took that one,
- 2:51Speaker 1: makes you what? Okay? Well, knowing that it's key line.
- 2:58Speaker 1: I may try.
- 2:58Speaker 4: It's just it didistachio?
- 3:04Speaker 5: Did I not just say I didn't know what that said.
- 3:08Speaker 1: I didn't say anything. I thought I thought it was
- 3:11Speaker 1: an apple. And that's why I wish.
- 3:14Speaker 8: Hate shell mate on your pillow eating mayor Christmas.
- 3:21Speaker 9: We don't We're not We're not there anymore, Kenny, We're
- 3:25Speaker 9: not there anymore.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Well, and were out there. We ain't going.
- 3:29Speaker 4: Joe Biden commuted our sentences. We ain't gonna, we ain't gonna,
- 3:32Speaker 4: Resident President, letting us out, he did. He did a
- 3:36Speaker 4: lot of that is just letting people out. It's something
- 3:38Speaker 4: my funks came home for Christmas. I'm telling you. It
- 3:41Speaker 4: was a it was a white Christmas, white christ Nobody
- 3:45Speaker 4: just letting people out of Hey, brother, what you doing?
- 3:47Speaker 4: I want to go home.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Thursday night football is here. Uh.
- 3:51Speaker 4: The Seahawks who have a lot to play for. They're
- 3:53Speaker 4: still trying to win their division over there with the Rams,
- 3:58Speaker 4: the Cardinals and the forty nine ers are out of
- 4:01Speaker 4: the playoff picture. The winner of that division is suiting
- 4:05Speaker 4: up to be making that wild card run. So Seattle
- 4:11Speaker 4: having a lot to play for Tonight in Chicago, the Bears,
- 4:15Speaker 4: most likely on a head coach watch list, which once again,
- 4:19Speaker 4: as I said, Atlanta, Cleveland, Chicago. You notice those teams,
- 4:29Speaker 4: the Carolina Panthers, this whole musical chair of head coach
- 4:34Speaker 4: and quarterback, it gets confusing of which direct You really
- 4:39Speaker 4: do have to pick a direction, put your cliques in
- 4:43Speaker 4: the ground, and let the work begin. It can't just
- 4:47Speaker 4: be how frequent for them teams to stay at the
- 4:50Speaker 4: top of the consistent Carolseale of coaches and think that's
- 4:55Speaker 4: not part of it. That is a lot to do
- 4:58Speaker 4: with it. Which direction, because typically bad producers, you know,
- 5:02Speaker 4: Big Kenny, imagine when you change coaches, you changed philosophies,
- 5:06Speaker 4: which means that a lot of the players on your
- 5:08Speaker 4: team is not under that philosophy. It doesn't make them
- 5:12Speaker 4: bad players, they just don't go with your scheme right,
- 5:17Speaker 4: and it takes a couple of years to build the
- 5:20Speaker 4: people of the scheme that you wanted. You take Denver,
- 5:25Speaker 4: Denver's playing better this year. Yeah, Russell Wilson was down,
- 5:31Speaker 4: but it was more that Russell Wilson is not really
- 5:33Speaker 4: built to run Shine Peyton's scheme, whereas the young kid
- 5:40Speaker 4: out there, so Nicks is kind of in the framework
- 5:43Speaker 4: of a Drew Brees. I'm not saying the talent, I'm
- 5:46Speaker 4: just saying that same kind of three step quick release
- 5:50Speaker 4: is not necessarily you know, it's not about scrambling. Now,
- 5:53Speaker 4: when he was at auburny you looked like but when
- 5:56Speaker 4: he went to Oregon, he learned how to process get
- 5:59Speaker 4: the ball quick. So Chicago, what would this make Chicago
- 6:05Speaker 4: about if they get a new head coach that's about
- 6:07Speaker 4: five and ten years.
- 6:09Speaker 1: I mean, they they're battling in Cleveland.
- 6:12Speaker 5: I think the fact that you as far as quarterbacks
- 6:14Speaker 5: and coach at one time Cleveland had, there's a was
- 6:18Speaker 5: like since two thousands. Since the two thousands, Cleveland have
- 6:21Speaker 5: had like twenty to twenty something different starting quarterbacks and
- 6:26Speaker 5: maybe ten ten head coaches. So you think Chicago is
- 6:30Speaker 5: on that on that same page. Detroit was on that
- 6:33Speaker 5: page at one time. There's a couple of other teams
- 6:36Speaker 5: that it's possibly Jacksonville, which is another team that is
- 6:39Speaker 5: constantly quarterback and head coach.
- 6:42Speaker 11: The fact that you have to wonder and can't keep
- 6:46Speaker 11: up with the number of head coaches they've had in
- 6:48Speaker 11: the last ten years lends itself to what you're saying, Like,
- 6:51Speaker 11: you know, most teams. The Steelers have had what three
- 6:55Speaker 11: coaches in the last fifty thousand, Yeah, in our whole
- 6:59Speaker 11: lot of time, and the Chicago Bears have had and
- 7:02Speaker 11: there was this guy, but then you got you.
- 7:05Speaker 9: This will be five then their fifth head coach and
- 7:08Speaker 9: how many years?
- 7:10Speaker 1: Ten?
- 7:12Speaker 4: About every about basically like every two years there's a
- 7:15Speaker 4: new person.
- 7:16Speaker 1: That's kind of like me with marriage.
- 7:17Speaker 5: But they give you, like they tell you got two
- 7:19Speaker 5: minutes to give your respect for people.
- 7:21Speaker 4: And in that same amount of time, you probably had
- 7:25Speaker 4: five quarterbacks. Yeah that was supposed to be the quarterback,
- 7:31Speaker 4: not five different starters, but five guys that you have
- 7:34Speaker 4: that you were like including, this is going to be
- 7:36Speaker 4: the quarterback and that's one of this is going to
- 7:38Speaker 4: be the thought that two years ago.
- 7:40Speaker 1: That's not I was just kidding. Well, I don't think people.
- 7:45Speaker 11: I don't think people give enough credit to how that
- 7:47Speaker 11: impacts the rest of the team. Everybody, like you said,
- 7:50Speaker 11: they put the weight on the quarterback like everything runs
- 7:52Speaker 11: through them.
- 7:53Speaker 1: And then there's the head coach.
- 7:54Speaker 11: But if you've been there four years and this is
- 7:57Speaker 11: your third quarterback, are you.
- 7:59Speaker 8: Still believe in that speech?
- 8:00Speaker 4: All right, we're gonna retool and this is the guy
- 8:03Speaker 4: this is You've been saying that, and so I'm just
- 8:06Speaker 4: going out there.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Man, I don't want to get hurt.
- 8:09Speaker 4: It does a lot. So Chicago, Seattle, Chicago. Could they
- 8:13Speaker 4: get the first pick? What's their record?
- 8:15Speaker 5: They're one about four games right but right now is
- 8:18Speaker 5: sitting on three with the Patriots worst?
- 8:23Speaker 1: Not the Giants? I know the Giants right now are
- 8:26Speaker 1: the words? Yeah, sitting on the first pick.
- 8:29Speaker 4: But the Giants have like two wins. I want to
- 8:32Speaker 4: say the Bears have no more than four four, and
- 8:36Speaker 4: so based on the last two weeks, they could.
- 8:38Speaker 5: The Giants, Giants, Panthers, and then Jaguars like with three
- 8:46Speaker 5: maybe and then you got the Bears with four with
- 8:48Speaker 5: the Jaguars.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Where's how many wins?
- 8:51Speaker 4: Uh?
- 8:52Speaker 1: It's four?
- 8:54Speaker 4: Okay, So they could be a team that would grab
- 8:56Speaker 4: someone like a Travis Hunter kind of guy. If the
- 9:01Speaker 4: Giants take say your door, yeah, Anders.
- 9:04Speaker 5: Oh the Panther fans swear that, they swear they getting Travis.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Oh you think they're going to go in that direction?
- 9:10Speaker 5: Oh, the Panther fans because they feel like that if
- 9:12Speaker 5: they could get it, not what's the what's the quarterback?
- 9:16Speaker 4: Do they have a first round pick part of the
- 9:19Speaker 4: because then they trade make some kind of trade with
- 9:21Speaker 4: someone to get Bryce Young.
- 9:23Speaker 1: I think they traded one of those, because.
- 9:26Speaker 11: We we lose track of that, like in the last draft.
- 9:30Speaker 11: Remember these people traded up from eighteen to three and
- 9:33Speaker 11: gave them fifteen future round right, and we lose track
- 9:36Speaker 11: of that when it comes around more.
- 9:38Speaker 4: We're used to that more in NBA, yes, but the
- 9:43Speaker 4: NFL is getting a little more like that. Like that
- 9:46Speaker 4: then we are accustomed to.
- 9:48Speaker 11: Right where they made a deal back in twenty twenty
- 9:51Speaker 11: three for the first round draft pick of the twenty
- 9:53Speaker 11: twenty five draft, and you forget all about that, and
- 9:55Speaker 11: then all of a sudden, your team.
- 9:57Speaker 9: Just referenced that the Panthers would have the seventh Travis
- 10:01Speaker 9: Hunter will not be there.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Okay, what's the record right now? They're uh, they three
- 10:08Speaker 1: and eleven.
- 10:08Speaker 5: If they don't lose, if they lose the next two games,
- 10:11Speaker 5: and anybody.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Moved four and eleven.
- 10:13Speaker 8: Yeah, uh, there's a lot of teams around that.
- 10:16Speaker 4: How was your Christmas? Before we before we finished this first?
- 10:19Speaker 4: How excellent Christmas?
- 10:21Speaker 1: Chris?
- 10:21Speaker 8: Did you get anything unexpected a gift that you.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Yes, I did get an unexpected.
- 10:26Speaker 4: Gifts Okay, what would that be was a digital picture frame?
- 10:31Speaker 8: Okay, the ones that changed?
- 10:34Speaker 11: Yeah, you can, you can load the theme and I'm
- 10:39Speaker 11: it was in the spirit of uh this year I
- 10:41Speaker 11: lost my brother and uh it was a way that
- 10:45Speaker 11: they felt like would help me preserve those memories.
- 10:48Speaker 4: Without keeping it just a stagnant one image. And I
- 10:52Speaker 4: wasn't expecting that. I'm not really a digital much of anything.
- 10:55Speaker 4: God so comand you. Uh yeah, it was a good Christmas.
- 11:00Speaker 4: Went to see my parents.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Did your mom cook? Yes? Yes, it's like I'm asking him.
- 11:10Speaker 9: I had to because I had to work. I had
- 11:12Speaker 9: I came by like the day before. Uh so it
- 11:17Speaker 9: was at some chicken wings and steak and all the
- 11:22Speaker 9: other you know, holiday food.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Oh yeah, it was good. Got some rest and it
- 11:27Speaker 1: was out last night. He had the DJ.
- 11:28Speaker 8: Sony, did you get a nice gift? Did something you nothing?
- 11:34Speaker 5: I mean a lump of cold, man, Hey, a lot
- 11:37Speaker 5: of cold. We tried to get would you get what
- 11:39Speaker 5: was yours?
- 11:40Speaker 1: Sir?
- 11:40Speaker 4: I had a good one. I got me a.
- 11:43Speaker 11: Auburn auburn insulated cup. Yea yet I'll just say yeah

- 14:03Speaker 14: I never realized that I'd be taking care of a
- 14:06Speaker 14: two year old and a nine year old on my own.
- 14:08Speaker 14: I think men can be a little stubborn sometimes, where
- 14:12Speaker 14: pride gets in the way and they may want the help,
- 14:15Speaker 14: they may not know how to ask. With my traditions,
- 14:18Speaker 14: with the family support in line, and just with my
- 14:21Speaker 14: mind frame, I was able to turn a negative into
- 14:25Speaker 14: a positive. I knew I needed more tools in my
- 14:28Speaker 14: toolbox to take care of these little girls that just
- 14:31Speaker 14: lost their mother. It's time for me to be that
- 14:34Speaker 14: father that I knew I could be. I think just
- 14:36Speaker 14: being that good role model as well. That model's good
- 14:40Speaker 14: behavior in front of them, going to work every day,
- 14:43Speaker 14: coming home and being able to put on that smile.
- 14:46Speaker 14: The biggest reward about being a dad is sitting back
- 14:49Speaker 14: and watching your kids be happy.
- 14:53Speaker 7: Never stop being a dad.
- 14:54Speaker 1: That's dedication.

- 15:15Speaker 6: can afford.
- 15:17Speaker 12: No, no, no, no, Now.
- 15:18Speaker 6: It's time to present the Jack of the Day on
- 15:21Speaker 6: the Sports Jock Show.
- 15:22Speaker 7: It's taken it to a completely different level this.
- 15:24Speaker 6: Year where we highlight an acolyte that has taken their
- 15:27Speaker 6: game to the next level.
- 15:36Speaker 8: One for the trial, tell me the best.
- 15:44Speaker 4: Welcome back to the Sport Shock Show. I'm the Worshop
- 15:46Speaker 4: Wayne Gandee. Merry Christmas once again, this is the holiday season.
- 15:52Speaker 4: We are six days from a new year. I hope
- 15:56Speaker 4: you woke up happy and satisfy this morning. Thursday Night
- 16:01Speaker 4: football the Seahawks and Chicago Yesterday Christmas. For the first
- 16:06Speaker 4: time where intentionally, the NFL invaded Christmas. I say that
- 16:13Speaker 4: to mean that, sure, there's been Christmas games where the
- 16:19Speaker 4: day matched up with when a game was happening, meaning
- 16:25Speaker 4: that if a game it's on a day that the
- 16:28Speaker 4: NFL traditionally would have already had a game. But Wednesday
- 16:33Speaker 4: is not a day that in the years I've followed
- 16:36Speaker 4: the game, they've ever had a Wednesday game. So they
- 16:40Speaker 4: intentionally invaded Christmas. They put to primetime game for playoff
- 16:47Speaker 4: bound teams, regardless of wins or losses yesterday on the field,
- 16:53Speaker 4: and we'll start with the latter game, and that was
- 16:55Speaker 4: down in Texas, and we'll start there. Not much to
- 16:58Speaker 4: talk about in the game as far as performances, and
- 17:06Speaker 4: some of that is the Baltimore Ravens are definitely jackyaling High.
- 17:13Speaker 4: Their quarterback is jackyl and High, the guy yesterday when
- 17:20Speaker 4: he decides he will just play and not think he
- 17:26Speaker 4: is the MVP. Sometimes he regresses and he tries to
- 17:31Speaker 4: prove the command cheat Gregg that his last name should
- 17:34Speaker 4: be Marino and wait, wait, wait, not is he does
- 17:43Speaker 4: he think his last name should be Marino?
- 17:46Speaker 11: Or is a coach or somebody it is here? Going yeah, kid,
- 17:49Speaker 11: you know, you remind me of Marino. But if you would,
- 17:52Speaker 11: just if you would just know, I like the way
- 17:54Speaker 11: you did your thing, But if you would just pause
- 17:56Speaker 11: a minute and give it a second reak.
- 17:58Speaker 4: Do you think sometime people are in his ear about man,
- 18:01Speaker 4: you doing too much moving? I think whatever's in his ear,
- 18:05Speaker 4: I don't think it's a particular person as much as
- 18:09Speaker 4: a lot of times, with the style of quarterback that
- 18:13Speaker 4: he is, he wants to solidify that he is the title.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Remember I'm a quarter back.
- 18:23Speaker 8: Okay, you're right, So I do it all. I do
- 18:26Speaker 8: it all like that.
- 18:27Speaker 4: Well, a quarter back when you start the first thing,
- 18:31Speaker 4: you're gonna say that the sale quarterback is throwing. His
- 18:37Speaker 4: first thing needs to be throwing. In leadership, those are
- 18:40Speaker 4: the things that you're getting in and out of plays
- 18:43Speaker 4: and throwing the ball. Okay, but Lamar's description, he's always
- 18:48Speaker 4: trying to and Michael Vick has got into that all
- 18:52Speaker 4: the way back to Randall.
- 18:53Speaker 8: Cunningham, Steve Young.
- 18:57Speaker 4: It's a long list of guys that was all always
- 19:00Speaker 4: they was always teetering on trying to prove to the
- 19:03Speaker 4: public's the pundits as you call them now, they say
- 19:06Speaker 4: the pocket they could stay in the pocket and throw
- 19:09Speaker 4: the ball most of the time. That is some of
- 19:14Speaker 4: their worst times. And I mean that they lost the game,
- 19:18Speaker 4: but some of their worst performances are centered in them
- 19:22Speaker 4: just being going to sit in here and show big
- 19:24Speaker 4: Kenny today, baby, because y'all know how we do come
- 19:27Speaker 4: to car Marina because this morning, after after whooping the
- 19:34Speaker 4: Texans like they had stolen Christmas presents out his house,
- 19:41Speaker 4: somebody had come on and go, well, you know, they
- 19:44Speaker 4: put him up against Josh but josh All was so
- 19:46Speaker 4: much morm.
- 19:47Speaker 11: And when you're listening to that, what more do I
- 19:50Speaker 11: need to give you?
- 19:52Speaker 1: Sir?
- 19:52Speaker 8: You saw me do what I did when I did the.
- 19:55Speaker 4: Thing, and you was looking like Marshall fak though yeah,
- 19:59Speaker 4: I'm saying he was a cold boy with his feet
- 20:01Speaker 4: Marshall and I'm a quarterback and you said I look
- 20:04Speaker 4: like fun.
- 20:05Speaker 8: Can you believe that?
- 20:06Speaker 4: But I want you to mention my name with Marino
- 20:10Speaker 4: and that's it, and that's why, and that's why I
- 20:12Speaker 4: say when they get into trouble, that's when when Lamar
- 20:14Speaker 4: does this whole thing where I'm just gonna go play.
- 20:18Speaker 4: It's hard to beat, especially with the addition of Derrick
- 20:21Speaker 4: Henry because then that combination is deadly because you gotta
- 20:27Speaker 4: pick your poison. You got to start calling defense to
- 20:30Speaker 4: take one or the other. But sometimes spotty Lamar Lamar
- 20:34Speaker 4: Bell bails you out.
- 20:36Speaker 1: He goes in.
- 20:38Speaker 4: I'm just gonna give it to Derek today instead of
- 20:41Speaker 4: pulling it yesterday. You saw him intentionally run. Those were
- 20:44Speaker 4: design runs that he's always had the option on, uh,
- 20:47Speaker 4: and they just blew out the Texans. But the biggest
- 20:50Speaker 4: story out of this was the halftime show. Beyonce, the
- 20:55Speaker 4: iconic pop star halftime and her hometown Netflix built it up.
- 21:02Speaker 4: Remember this game was both games were on Netflix, yes,
- 21:07Speaker 4: and you couldn't get them on Prime.
- 21:10Speaker 11: Usually they show up, what is it that Thursday night
- 21:12Speaker 11: game on Prime?
- 21:13Speaker 1: Right?
- 21:13Speaker 11: And I thought that just because Prime had some deal,
- 21:16Speaker 11: this was Netflix first time.
- 21:18Speaker 1: This is.
- 21:20Speaker 8: When the game is on Prime, you can't get it
- 21:21Speaker 8: on it.
- 21:23Speaker 4: I just never I didn't know that they did it
- 21:25Speaker 4: with Netflix, I thought. And then from when I researched,
- 21:28Speaker 4: I found out that this was the very first NFL game,
- 21:31Speaker 4: which led me to kind of, y'all, just let anybody
- 21:34Speaker 4: play with the shield.
- 21:36Speaker 8: But guess somebody but.
- 21:38Speaker 5: Kenny, did you see who was on the the your buddy,
- 21:41Speaker 5: our good friend shooking the job and was on the panel.
- 21:45Speaker 1: I saw that, Yeah, that's what I.
- 21:48Speaker 4: Well, you have to go find someone that doesn't already
- 21:51Speaker 4: have a gig. So Prime already had Thursday Box and
- 21:57Speaker 4: the rest. You know, CBS, they already have their locked.
- 22:00Speaker 4: So I had to go find somewhere else.
- 22:02Speaker 8: Who doesn't have to I could get to get this.
- 22:08Speaker 4: Windsday that doesn't have a contract, and someone like Netflix,
- 22:12Speaker 4: they would probably try to lock this up because once
- 22:15Speaker 4: they run the numbers, they'll decide did it work or
- 22:17Speaker 4: not do We always need to make sure a game
- 22:20Speaker 4: and that's why I say sometimes the game is going
- 22:22Speaker 4: to sync up so they won't have to put it
- 22:26Speaker 4: so they.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Won't have to do that.
- 22:28Speaker 11: But they had all of the bells and whistles, Beyonce,
- 22:31Speaker 11: what did you think beyond?
- 22:32Speaker 4: And we'll go to break and we come back and Break.
- 22:34Speaker 4: We'll talking about Beyonce the Bee Hives performance and you know,
- 22:40Speaker 4: did it help NFL? Like did it help or not?
- 22:43Speaker 4: We'll be back more to Sports Shock Show right after

- 25:45Speaker 4: Welcome back to the I must say this that this
- 25:49Speaker 4: is one of the This is one of my top ten.
- 25:53Speaker 4: Never like this song songs, it's like one I don't
- 25:58Speaker 4: never like that it's on my top ten. You know,
- 26:05Speaker 4: I never wrote I never have written down the top ten,
- 26:09Speaker 4: but off the dome it's like one of my top ten.
- 26:13Speaker 4: Never liked the song. That don't mean don't play it.
- 26:16Speaker 4: That just means you're supposed to play that. It clicks
- 26:19Speaker 4: things in your head and a moments. Don't ever erase
- 26:22Speaker 4: any music. It's one of those songs.
- 26:24Speaker 8: I'm riding and it comes on and you remember that
- 26:27Speaker 8: let Me find Me?
- 26:27Speaker 1: No, I don't like that right now.
- 26:30Speaker 4: The reason I know the words to the song is because,
- 26:32Speaker 4: like you, I never liked the song, and so for
- 26:34Speaker 4: some reason it's just stuck. When I hear it, I go,
- 26:39Speaker 4: oh that song, And like you, I always want to turn.
- 26:42Speaker 4: What's a song that is a good song and people
- 26:45Speaker 4: like it? But you didn't particularly Oh who Let the
- 26:50Speaker 4: Dogs Out?
- 26:53Speaker 1: Okay? I mean, I mean it's a good song to
- 26:56Speaker 1: get to, but I mean who let the doll? You
- 27:00Speaker 1: went up and you try to be a queue and field.
- 27:04Speaker 1: You ain't the only one. You know what I'm saying?
- 27:09Speaker 1: What is it, sir?
- 27:12Speaker 4: What I mean?
- 27:12Speaker 1: That's the song is like, you know that sounds like
- 27:17Speaker 1: a Yeah.
- 27:19Speaker 8: There's a lot of songs like that every year though,
- 27:21Speaker 8: that come out and they never really grow on you.
- 27:24Speaker 4: Well, I'm saying something more like, not necessarily in the
- 27:26Speaker 4: recent but over your years in the last.
- 27:29Speaker 8: Just that song, I'm like, I'm too legit, too legit
- 27:34Speaker 8: to quit to legit.
- 27:38Speaker 1: Everything.
- 27:40Speaker 8: Ever, the only one I got, the only one I
- 27:45Speaker 8: got behind was.
- 27:46Speaker 1: Oh oh.
- 27:49Speaker 4: It comes Hammon like turn mother. That was my most No,
- 27:55Speaker 4: don't play that denying Oh my, try you smooth?
- 28:07Speaker 19: Have you?
- 28:07Speaker 1: Do you have a song?
- 28:09Speaker 8: I mean you don't have to say dust something. I'm
- 28:11Speaker 8: just saying, anyone that comes to.
- 28:13Speaker 9: Your head, yeah, it will be stuffed by like like
- 28:17Speaker 9: I don't like uh tone look.
- 28:22Speaker 1: Like funky.
- 28:29Speaker 8: That songs are all on the same level like that,
- 28:35Speaker 8: what was it me?
- 28:37Speaker 1: You don't like the load? It's time to get funky
- 28:45Speaker 1: cold Mantine.
- 28:47Speaker 4: Beyond s halftime where the NFL decided to give UH
- 28:53Speaker 4: and I guess they couldn't find anyone in Pittsburgh to
- 28:56Speaker 4: also give you a halftime show. The Burg doesn't put
- 29:00Speaker 4: on that stuff. The steel the steel curtain does not
- 29:05Speaker 4: give you freel frills. This is you get burger. Understand this.
- 29:09Speaker 4: Now they don't do free No, sir, we got burger
- 29:12Speaker 4: kept up for mustards. Well kill me with all that
- 29:15Speaker 4: all that drizzle. We don't get seasoning on the plate.
- 29:20Speaker 4: Now we got we got salt on the fries. That
- 29:22Speaker 4: little piece of what is the part, yes, just messing
- 29:26Speaker 4: up the food. That's not Pittsburgh baby, just cook. That's
- 29:30Speaker 4: just foot on the plate, some starch on the side
- 29:33Speaker 4: of what So what did they do? What they do
- 29:36Speaker 4: at halftime?
- 29:37Speaker 1: Half time? Go to the bathroom, go.
- 29:39Speaker 5: To the bathroom, kickball, you know, or they'll do some
- 29:42Speaker 5: recognition of someone had some dogs out doing the Mary
- 29:46Speaker 5: Christmas from the NFL, and Pittsburgh still don't do none
- 29:50Speaker 5: of that.
- 29:50Speaker 1: Now had look you look at it in.
- 29:53Speaker 5: The local council winds or something like that. Listen now
- 29:57Speaker 5: and and Beyonce, we got our seventy two teams. Yeah,
- 30:02Speaker 5: it was still alive. And they come out like, oh
- 30:04Speaker 5: where are we Like that number twenty seven. He doesn't
- 30:08Speaker 5: even know he's here.
- 30:09Speaker 4: But Houston decided to let Beyond say invade for about
- 30:14Speaker 4: twenty minutes. I Big Kenny asked me going in the break,
- 30:17Speaker 4: what I thought I thought that I was at a.
- 30:20Speaker 1: Party that I was not invited to. Oh how did
- 30:24Speaker 1: who what?
- 30:26Speaker 4: That's that's how I am. Now that's happened to me.
- 30:28Speaker 4: You know about his party? Yeah, that I was not
- 30:31Speaker 4: invited to. There was a party going on and there
- 30:33Speaker 4: was nothing wrong with the party. Now everybody was having
- 30:36Speaker 4: a good time, but I wasn't invited to. He just
- 30:38Speaker 4: went with your boy.
- 30:39Speaker 11: I said, come with me real quickly correct and then
- 30:41Speaker 11: you everybody in country class just this is what I wanted.
- 30:46Speaker 4: Some of that is I'm not a big Beyonce music fan.
- 30:50Speaker 4: First I do super stand up on both feet and
- 30:53Speaker 4: applaud her of the dominance of her come on career.
- 30:59Speaker 4: It is That's why I started the thing when I
- 31:01Speaker 4: said iconic. So it's one of those kind of things.
- 31:04Speaker 4: But it's never been something that you see it where
- 31:08Speaker 4: it pulled me in as far as a request, right
- 31:13Speaker 4: like somebody, hey man, alreadyst you want to hear.
- 31:16Speaker 1: Hey man, you ain't got no to that, Queen b.
- 31:20Speaker 4: But the showmanship she she is the essence of what
- 31:25Speaker 4: putting on a show is about. Her whole style is
- 31:29Speaker 4: halftime performance. It is at any moment you know you
- 31:34Speaker 4: you almost don't call her to do this stuff because
- 31:39Speaker 4: she's the perfect person to call to do it.
- 31:41Speaker 1: Does that make sense?
- 31:42Speaker 5: Yeah, because she's gonna put it. She's gonna Doug and play,
- 31:45Speaker 5: she's gonna put the timing in. She's gonna put the
- 31:48Speaker 5: work in to get you the thirteen minutes when you
- 31:50Speaker 5: tell her thirty, she's gonna have twelve minutes and forty
- 31:52Speaker 5: nine seconds.
- 31:53Speaker 4: And you be thinking, Beyonce is so good at this,
- 31:55Speaker 4: she ain't gonna do this little halftime stuff if it's
- 31:59Speaker 4: right in her effortlessly like she didn't have to do
- 32:02Speaker 4: anything but make sure the two hundred people were available
- 32:05Speaker 4: right and now and.
- 32:07Speaker 11: That they all had some I wrote this thought down
- 32:10Speaker 11: so as not to forget it, sir, when watching the
- 32:12Speaker 11: games yesterday, the games themselves, especially the one Beyonce, the
- 32:17Speaker 11: uh texts in the text suffered a.
- 32:20Speaker 1: Lot of buffery.
- 32:22Speaker 11: Her performance was crystal clear, uninterrupted, and I wondered, as
- 32:26Speaker 11: I was watching it, how is this related to or
- 32:30Speaker 11: helping football? Or is this just supposed to help football's
- 32:34Speaker 11: interest because Beyonce is tied to jay Z. Jay Z
- 32:38Speaker 11: is tied to the NFL and right now he's going
- 32:41Speaker 11: through a rough patch. Is this that we gonna all
- 32:44Speaker 11: ride with you and this is our show of support
- 32:46Speaker 11: or is this just we breaking in on Christmas Day?
- 32:49Speaker 11: So we're gonna do it with the biggest box office
- 32:52Speaker 11: draw we can get.
- 32:53Speaker 4: I would imagine whatever this is whenever these decisions were made, this.
- 32:58Speaker 1: Was already in the play book. Yeah, months ago.
- 33:02Speaker 4: Yeah, when they decided Christmas Day, they decided which game
- 33:05Speaker 4: they were going to put a performance on, and who
- 33:10Speaker 4: has already been.
- 33:11Speaker 8: Because she had a pre recorded segment.
- 33:12Speaker 1: Didn't like that. And then here's the thing about it,
- 33:17Speaker 1: Like you said, it's plug and play.
- 33:18Speaker 5: With super Bowl being in Houston before, they already know
- 33:21Speaker 5: how to do the super Bowl halftime. They know how
- 33:23Speaker 5: to bring them the stage out, getting in and out
- 33:26Speaker 5: real quick. Everything works together and and and as a
- 33:30Speaker 5: and as you stated before, when they made this choice,
- 33:33Speaker 5: it was, hey, let's have this game in Houston.
- 33:36Speaker 1: Beyonce be great Christmas Day. She's at home anyway.
- 33:40Speaker 11: What wouldn't that be par for the course for arena
- 33:44Speaker 11: stadiums though, I was just thinking about as we were
- 33:48Speaker 11: watching some.
- 33:48Speaker 5: Of our but not everybody will do a halftime show. Well,
- 33:52Speaker 5: I'm saying, you know, the halftime you got to get
- 33:54Speaker 5: it in and out. You got the football teams, you
- 33:56Speaker 5: got to be able to get the stage in and
- 33:57Speaker 5: out so you would know who to call to do.
- 34:00Speaker 5: I'm saying the NFL has the halftime team. I'm sure
- 34:04Speaker 5: they don't go and outsource that stuff, especially when it's
- 34:06Speaker 5: this big. The only reason I said, because they've had
- 34:09Speaker 5: the huge Super Bowl in Houston twice before and they
- 34:13Speaker 5: understand whether it's the team in Houston that works there
- 34:17Speaker 5: at the Reliant Field to understand the magnitude of getting
- 34:20Speaker 5: it in and out and getting ready for the second half.
- 34:23Speaker 4: Well, one of the key components to all of this
- 34:25Speaker 4: is it's Christmas. So in Christmas you have more of
- 34:31Speaker 4: a family setting. So I do have to bring your
- 34:35Speaker 4: artist that is family friendly friendly, right, naturally, right, somebody
- 34:41Speaker 4: we all got, not someone I gotta worry about bleeping
- 34:45Speaker 4: a word.
- 34:45Speaker 1: Out or grandpa politics.
- 34:49Speaker 4: Yes, because it's a family moment where families are going
- 34:52Speaker 4: to be watching this game, because that's probably most likely
- 34:57Speaker 4: where your setting is going to be at four o'clock
- 35:01Speaker 4: on Christmas Day. So it's just it was a It
- 35:07Speaker 4: was it felt like it was a little longer, and
- 35:10Speaker 4: it could have been more. Like I said, out of
- 35:15Speaker 4: all the songs, I think I knew one. She was
- 35:18Speaker 4: focusing on her latest album, Cowboy, and I think I
- 35:23Speaker 4: knew one of the songs.
- 35:27Speaker 11: And Blackbird both were cover versions, so it were the
- 35:30Speaker 11: only two I knew.
- 35:32Speaker 8: Well, I knew those songs to be someone else's song.
- 35:36Speaker 4: I didn't here, you didn't even hear them. And yeah,
- 35:39Speaker 4: when she went into Jolene, now it's just Darley Parton,
- 35:42Speaker 4: so out of her music. But do you think this
- 35:48Speaker 4: is going to be what the NFL annually does?
- 35:51Speaker 1: Now?
- 35:51Speaker 9: If you look at how they do Thanksgiving, it's like
- 35:55Speaker 9: someone not a lot of people talk about the Thanksgiving
- 36:00Speaker 9: halftime shows that they've had, But I think they're gonna
- 36:05Speaker 9: try to go They may try to go bigger with
- 36:08Speaker 9: Christmas if they're you know, if they continue to because
- 36:11Speaker 9: it's Christmas.
- 36:13Speaker 4: So that's why I said it. Most likely because it
- 36:16Speaker 4: was Pittsburgh. They don't do halftime performances, so Thanksgiving both
- 36:21Speaker 4: places have a halftime performer for yes, yes, right now?
- 36:26Speaker 16: Is it?
- 36:27Speaker 20: Is it?
- 36:27Speaker 11: So next year we may get two halftime Will they
- 36:32Speaker 11: start stepping on one another? Because the super Bowl, which
- 36:34Speaker 11: is supposed to be the pinnacle of all halftime performances,
- 36:37Speaker 11: is only what about eight weeks, nine weeks something like that,
- 36:41Speaker 11: six February.
- 36:43Speaker 8: Yeah, it's really really close.
- 36:46Speaker 11: So a Beyonce halftime show that goes twenty minutes, I've
- 36:50Speaker 11: never seen a Super Bowl halftime show get an extra.
- 36:54Speaker 8: Seven to eleven minutes something like that.
- 36:56Speaker 11: So are we gonna get to the point where, oh, man,
- 37:01Speaker 11: I'm good on halftime performance?
- 37:03Speaker 4: We won't know because your crowd. There's people in your crowd.
- 37:08Speaker 4: But Kenny, you would have just be with all men
- 37:11Speaker 4: that only want to watch football. That's usually who I
- 37:15Speaker 4: watched the game.
- 37:16Speaker 1: Right, and that may be why you would get tired.
- 37:18Speaker 4: But if you're having a Super Bowl function, yeah, there's
- 37:22Speaker 4: a third of that crowd that only wants to see it.
- 37:26Speaker 1: Yeah, they just want to see the haptime. I used
- 37:28Speaker 1: to keep them people out my house or who's.
- 37:30Speaker 8: Singing the national anthem, but they usually have to go
- 37:32Speaker 8: to a whole nother room. Y'all watching, y'all watch it upstairs.
- 37:36Speaker 4: Yeah, y'all watch upstairs with the ladies and the kids
- 37:39Speaker 4: singing both national anthem.
- 37:40Speaker 5: Yeah, you got the regular national anthem, then you got
- 37:43Speaker 5: the black national anthem. Now it's been a sung now
- 37:48Speaker 5: at the Super bowl. Oh, okay, okay, cool, kind of weird.
- 38:02Speaker 1: We'll be back.
- 38:07Speaker 8: A little crazy. Lease the South and befill we hook up.
- 38:10Speaker 8: But Mike real quick, it's a habit.
- 38:13Speaker 1: I just can't can't.
- 38:13Speaker 21: I'm gonna get aloud the cloud be it exstasy, the
- 38:16Speaker 21: rest the States to get next to me.

- 40:57Speaker 1: And now back to the sports job, Wayne, and.
- 41:14Speaker 4: This is how we do. Welcome back to this one
- 41:37Speaker 4: shock show. I'm this one shock Wing game. It this
- 41:39Speaker 4: goes out to our Raider frame fan from New York,
- 41:44Speaker 4: a man Jerry one of his top hits right here.
- 41:47Speaker 4: I hope you're getting that two steps on right now, Cherry.
- 41:51Speaker 4: But you saw that montell Jordan to get your morning
- 41:54Speaker 4: going right there? Uh No, that goes out. I mean Jared,
- 42:00Speaker 4: he hit us up that we were talking about none
- 42:05Speaker 4: favorite song. Yes, yes, and Jared said that montell Jordan
- 42:10Speaker 4: that wh you know, that's I'm saying. It could be
- 42:12Speaker 4: a surprising song that was big and people still play.
- 42:17Speaker 4: You can go to any kind of sport activity and
- 42:22Speaker 4: they'll play that song right there and people will get
- 42:25Speaker 4: up as a dance song.
- 42:26Speaker 9: Yes, you know to way a Hots game where Mantel
- 42:30Speaker 9: Jordan performed at halftime and it seemed like he did
- 42:32Speaker 9: this is how.
- 42:33Speaker 1: We do it for about Yeah.
- 42:35Speaker 4: I was at that game too, again, but it is
- 42:45Speaker 4: one of those classic songs that sometimes and that's what
- 42:49Speaker 4: we were looking for. And anybody else out there that
- 42:51Speaker 4: has a song, please hit us up. It's just one
- 42:52Speaker 4: of those songs that the other three hundred people in
- 42:55Speaker 4: the room would be dancing too.
- 42:57Speaker 1: And you're thinking, I don't really like this song.
- 43:00Speaker 4: And everybody be so high. You ever feel like something
- 43:03Speaker 4: wrong with me? Why don't I embrace tom load like
- 43:07Speaker 4: what happened? What happened to me that I couldn't feed?
- 43:11Speaker 5: That's crazy. You'll give them. See you got three hundred
- 43:13Speaker 5: people dancing. That one person be the one come up,
- 43:15Speaker 5: hey man? Can you play something else? Do you not
- 43:17Speaker 5: see the dance?
- 43:20Speaker 1: They just do not like that song. We were talking
- 43:24Speaker 1: about the NFL.
- 43:25Speaker 4: The Chiefs one home field advantaged through the playoffs, so
- 43:30Speaker 4: they basically next week can rest their superstars, which a
- 43:36Speaker 4: lot of those guys are either old or banged up.
- 43:39Speaker 1: They have both options. They have older people like.
- 43:42Speaker 4: A Travis Kelce at thirty five, they need a little
- 43:47Speaker 4: week off, and then you got a lot of young
- 43:49Speaker 4: players that that's trying to get back into the action
- 43:55Speaker 4: for check. Oh and guys that missed the early in
- 43:59Speaker 4: the year trying to get back into groove and that
- 44:02Speaker 4: was huge for them. So, uh, they know that basically
- 44:06Speaker 4: they have two weeks off before they have a meaningful game,
- 44:10Speaker 4: a long little break here. That's days from Christmas, so
- 44:15Speaker 4: you get two weeks plus these four days.
- 44:17Speaker 11: Now that that helps with injury, but that football skin
- 44:21Speaker 11: gets a little more tender.
- 44:23Speaker 8: Yes, yeah, but you know you would these kind of teams,
- 44:27Speaker 8: can you don furious much?
- 44:31Speaker 1: Okay?
- 44:31Speaker 4: Because they've been here so much they know what to expect.
- 44:35Speaker 4: A lot of times it's those inexperienced teams that haven't
- 44:39Speaker 4: consistently been to the playoffs that you give them that
- 44:41Speaker 4: long break and.
- 44:44Speaker 1: You missed that groove.
- 44:46Speaker 10: Right.
- 44:47Speaker 8: The Braves here in Atlanta about two years ago, years.
- 44:51Speaker 5: Ago when they had to play to get they were
- 44:53Speaker 5: waiting doing simulating games, but.
- 44:56Speaker 8: They had never been to the postseason as team.
- 45:00Speaker 4: Right, So a lot of the people that they count on,
- 45:04Speaker 4: the Chris Jones, the Patrick Mahomes, the Travis Kelsey, old man.
- 45:09Speaker 1: What's the receiver they got? Hopkins? Hopkins?
- 45:11Speaker 4: He can get his he can get his dreads relined
- 45:15Speaker 4: or something. Get them on Thatture because he's about.
- 45:18Speaker 1: Thirty five, isn't he thirty four? Third running there? Yeah?
- 45:23Speaker 4: He need him a couple of days off too, So
- 45:25Speaker 4: we and even Kareem hunt for a running back. He's
- 45:29Speaker 4: old up there between about twenty nine. That's that's a
- 45:32Speaker 4: magic number. Yeah, you say it to say that people,
- 45:39Speaker 4: Oh my goodness, you still playing running running back at
- 45:42Speaker 4: twenty nine?
- 45:42Speaker 1: With it with his style.
- 45:44Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, typically it's the more scatback kind of
- 45:48Speaker 4: guy that you don't get too worried about. But you
- 45:51Speaker 4: started a power runner looking to run over everybody. But uh,
- 45:55Speaker 4: they beat up on the Stellers. The Stealers have now
- 45:58Speaker 4: lost three games in a row and got to find
- 46:02Speaker 4: themselves here in this last week to go into the playoffs,
- 46:07Speaker 4: once looking to win the division. Now they're trailing Baltimore
- 46:13Speaker 4: in that AFC North question.
- 46:17Speaker 5: Talking to some Steeler fans yesterday and we talked about
- 46:20Speaker 5: the coach. You know, they've had on an out lifetime.
- 46:22Speaker 5: They've only had three coaches. And I know these guys,
- 46:26Speaker 5: they're diehard Steeler fans since they were kids. They were
- 46:29Speaker 5: saying that, you know, yeah, they're happy with Tomlin. The
- 46:33Speaker 5: winning regular season is good, but if you look at
- 46:35Speaker 5: his playoffs record, he hasn't won in a while in
- 46:40Speaker 5: the playoffs. And they say in that last Super Bowl
- 46:43Speaker 5: that he wanted, They say, that's Bill Coward's team.
- 46:45Speaker 1: That's what their opinion is.
- 46:48Speaker 5: I just wanted to get your opinion you as a
- 46:51Speaker 5: Steeler and a former Steeler, and we talk about that
- 46:54Speaker 5: a lot with.
- 46:56Speaker 1: Coach Tomlin.
- 46:58Speaker 5: What do you think about that when you look at
- 47:00Speaker 5: that stat as far as that hadn't won a playoff
- 47:04Speaker 5: game since they won the Super Bowl. As far as
- 47:10Speaker 5: letting him go, not letting well lett him go, or
- 47:13Speaker 5: looking at something or hearing a different voice there in
- 47:16Speaker 5: Pittsburgh after fifteen years, because he's been there, he's been
- 47:19Speaker 5: a consistent he's winning ten games, but when.
- 47:22Speaker 1: It gets to the playoffs, he's out in the first round.
- 47:25Speaker 1: He's gone. Well.
- 47:27Speaker 4: I think the organization is standing by their tradition and
- 47:34Speaker 4: just as much as they evaluate the coach, they evaluate
- 47:38Speaker 4: the whole team.
- 47:40Speaker 1: And they are more.
- 47:44Speaker 4: I would say analytical about it. Most people are firing
- 47:49Speaker 4: and hind coaches based on emotion. The Steelers do it
- 47:55Speaker 4: more where they calculate should we have won those games.
- 48:01Speaker 4: You take the Atlanta fan base and I'm just using
- 48:03Speaker 4: them as an exam. I played for them as well.
- 48:05Speaker 4: As far as this year's team personnel wise, you are
- 48:11Speaker 4: a seven and seven, eight and seven team. You're not underachieving.
- 48:21Speaker 4: This is about where you should have been. It was
- 48:24Speaker 4: going to be a close. Might get the nine wins,
- 48:27Speaker 4: maybe ten and win the division. That's about the talent.
- 48:31Speaker 4: But the fan base here talks about the team like
- 48:34Speaker 4: there's more talent on the field and that's all you
- 48:38Speaker 4: can ever do. The stealers, I think, go with Mike Tomlin.
- 48:42Speaker 4: Should this Stiller team even be where they are. They
- 48:46Speaker 4: have already achieved something you didn't see right right, and
- 48:51Speaker 4: they're already in the playoffs, so they'll already checked one box.
- 48:55Speaker 4: Necessarily didn't see that. You bought in an old man
- 48:57Speaker 4: Russell Wilson who looked terrible the last two years, and
- 49:00Speaker 4: Denver you got a washed up guy and justin Fields
- 49:03Speaker 4: that looked like he was one step away from retiring
- 49:07Speaker 4: and needing a year in his fourth year, a year
- 49:10Speaker 4: off your offensive line. But the man has ten wins,
- 49:16Speaker 4: and I think that's it's just the people who running
- 49:19Speaker 4: the ship. And sometimes I would just say, you look
- 49:25Speaker 4: at just like with Pitt Kenny's team as we go
- 49:27Speaker 4: to break the Jets, it's like we talk about a
- 49:33Speaker 4: healthy Aaron Rodgers and that lineup last year you could
- 49:39Speaker 4: have some real expectations. An Achilles torn Aaron Rodgers and
- 49:45Speaker 4: three or four key pieces going this year. You don't
- 49:49Speaker 4: think that you should be whatever four and twelve, but
- 49:53Speaker 4: you saw maybe the last spot in the wild card
- 49:58Speaker 4: like that was a to see Super Bowl.
- 50:00Speaker 1: No, no, no, that's all.
- 50:03Speaker 4: So you know, I think Tumblin is the man for
- 50:07Speaker 4: the job until you can find someone better. So when
- 50:10Speaker 4: you throw a candidate out that's better than him, then
- 50:13Speaker 4: we'll take a look at him. But to just go
- 50:16Speaker 4: hire somebody else's offensive coordinator, why would I replace a
- 50:22Speaker 4: good coach. We'll be back more to Sports Jock Show
- 50:25Speaker 4: right after this.
- 50:41Speaker 16: Don't Go awayne board of the Sports Josh Hill with
- 50:43Speaker 16: Wayne Gambia is coming up.
- 50:45Speaker 13: Nast hurting the game. We tough it out, feel exhausted,
- 50:50Speaker 13: we push on feeling down. We pull ourselves up by
- 50:55Speaker 13: the boots traps. But there are times when boots traps
- 50:58Speaker 13: aren't enough, when stressed gets to us and we need

- 53:38Speaker 1: Bacey, what back to this hoy Shock showing him this
- 53:44Speaker 1: hoy Shock wing candy.
- 53:45Speaker 4: Great game last night the Lakers beat the Warriors one
- 53:50Speaker 4: f one thirteen, And I know Lebron James at the
- 53:54Speaker 4: end says he loves NFL uh and you always hear
- 53:59Speaker 4: him about him LA the NFL, the Madden Game.
- 54:02Speaker 1: But Christmas, it's our day.
- 54:05Speaker 4: So don't think that players and leagues when we sit
- 54:09Speaker 4: there and make those jokes about Adam.
- 54:11Speaker 8: Silver and the gentleman's agreement.
- 54:15Speaker 4: You keep Thanksgiving and we keep Christmas, and you're infringing
- 54:19Speaker 4: in our territory because sometimes you be thinking, no, no,
- 54:22Speaker 4: they're not gonna be petty like that and squally. But
- 54:31Speaker 4: the biggest start in the NBA is saying I see you.
- 54:35Speaker 4: Uh and probably because he wanted to sit home and
- 54:37Speaker 4: watch Lamar.
- 54:39Speaker 1: Upset. Man, y'all, you know, don't keep that action. So
- 54:42Speaker 1: I see it.
- 54:43Speaker 4: I love sports Wednesday Wednesday, but sometimes you hate that
- 54:49Speaker 4: there's a game going on and you have of the
- 54:53Speaker 4: obligations to another game. Like sometimes during the football season,
- 54:57Speaker 4: the Hawk a play on Saturday and I'm sitting there like,
- 55:02Speaker 4: I don't know, man, what time that game?
- 55:04Speaker 1: Maybe if I.
- 55:05Speaker 4: Can, maybe if traffic light you beginning the scheme, I
- 55:08Speaker 4: won't have to leave until seven o one because you know,
- 55:14Speaker 4: and I know everybody you can get it on your phone.
- 55:15Speaker 4: But it's still not the same now sitting there trying
- 55:18Speaker 4: to concentrate on the basketball game.
- 55:20Speaker 1: So uh.
- 55:21Speaker 4: But when Lebron said that, I laughed because I was like, yeah,
- 55:23Speaker 4: people think that these professional athletes don't see or take
- 55:29Speaker 4: ownership or what tends to be theirs, and then you
- 55:33Speaker 4: infuse it with something else.
- 55:35Speaker 5: Uh, and you gave people heavyweight teams heavyweight. You ain't
- 55:40Speaker 5: even give me Patrick Mahomes.
- 55:46Speaker 4: The scroud, the young superstar. You gave him the old
- 55:49Speaker 4: super Bowl champion, Russell Wilson, you gave him all the flavor.
- 55:54Speaker 4: You gave him to me, Cooke, Ryan, Mike Tomlin hardball,
- 55:58Speaker 4: you know, you gave me the whole package. And running
- 56:03Speaker 4: around in a Santa Claus outfitsh.
- 56:06Speaker 14: You gave me.
- 56:06Speaker 8: You gave me a Sunday serving of football on a wind.
- 56:11Speaker 4: So I just loved Lebron Them did win the game,
- 56:14Speaker 4: but for him to win such a huge game, which
- 56:17Speaker 4: was a great game and still have that on his consciousness,
- 56:21Speaker 4: that NFL we saw you man, you know, came on
- 56:24Speaker 4: over to our Christmas Day and he understands too.
- 56:27Speaker 1: They gonna run the numbers and like, hey man, he's
- 56:30Speaker 1: running back.
- 56:32Speaker 4: And it was a time yesterday where you had to
- 56:36Speaker 4: choose which one you were trying to do. If you
- 56:39Speaker 4: know this game here was the Laker Warriors game. Was
- 56:44Speaker 4: the first time I turned on the NBA. Oh wow,
- 56:49Speaker 4: I missed the first three games of the day.
- 56:52Speaker 1: I don't even know because the Chiefs game started.
- 56:55Speaker 4: I know, I'm gonna catch that. It is still curtain
- 56:57Speaker 4: that started one one, yeah, and then and Lamar four thirty.
- 57:02Speaker 4: So I missed the first three NBA games. I didn't
- 57:05Speaker 4: watch one second of them. I called this was the
- 57:08Speaker 4: first game. I got it, just the first games. Oh,
- 57:11Speaker 4: I wasn't the only one.
- 57:12Speaker 11: No, Now, I'm not gonna say I didn't watch a
- 57:15Speaker 11: second the first two games that came on NBA games combined,
- 57:18Speaker 11: I watched about thirty seconds.
- 57:21Speaker 1: That's what I said.
- 57:22Speaker 8: I didn't even I didn't even do the flip back then.
- 57:24Speaker 1: I did. I did.
- 57:25Speaker 4: You didn't give a chance to get around to put
- 57:27Speaker 4: it on Netflix. Remember to go out of Netflix, you
- 57:31Speaker 4: gotta go back all yeah, and in the process. So
- 57:35Speaker 4: I'm not about to keep doing that.
- 57:37Speaker 8: That was the whole and that's how I got That's
- 57:39Speaker 8: how the NFL got you and.
- 57:41Speaker 1: Held you in.
- 57:42Speaker 4: I'm not about to go out of Netflix and then
- 57:44Speaker 4: come back to No. I did a couple of times.
- 57:47Speaker 4: I didn't because I didn't.
- 57:48Speaker 1: I was in the room I was in.
- 57:51Speaker 10: I was.
- 57:51Speaker 1: I'm not leaving this room. So I had.
- 57:54Speaker 4: But is that not huge that Lebron would say that
- 57:57Speaker 4: it's such a dramatic win where they early one Stephan
- 58:01Speaker 4: him going back, he had about thirty two. Steff had
- 58:03Speaker 4: like thirty five six big shots, big blocks.
- 58:07Speaker 11: And to think that somebody might have missed that, Like
- 58:11Speaker 11: I went off tonight and you talking about, oh, man,
- 58:13Speaker 11: y'all played.
- 58:14Speaker 1: What do you mean y'all?
- 58:16Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 58:17Speaker 1: We played, Man.
- 58:18Speaker 4: You should have seen Lamar who lamar Oh? And you're
- 58:22Speaker 4: trying to think lamar owe them ain't he at the
- 58:24Speaker 4: bunny racks? But now we're talking about football all those guys,
- 58:27Speaker 4: a game that he would have been home right watching anyway,
- 58:30Speaker 4: with the super lemon pepper wet what he looked like
- 58:35Speaker 4: a hundred piece, hundred piece with a bottle of champagne
- 58:40Speaker 4: and Bryce and there it's still.
- 58:44Speaker 1: Twenty five already gone, good friend of the show, and
- 58:47Speaker 1: your good friend charlesbo he may mention it. Basket. NBA
- 58:50Speaker 1: SHO started on Christmas Day period anyway, and you.
- 58:53Speaker 5: Remember maybe just a couple of years ago, I don't
- 58:55Speaker 5: know why, but they did start actually the season I
- 58:58Speaker 5: can't remember. They started with some un strike strike and
- 59:01Speaker 5: they started season round Christmas Day and it was a
- 59:03Speaker 5: big bang for the NBA and they got a lot.
- 59:06Speaker 4: Of well to do that, you would have to cut
- 59:08Speaker 4: shorten the season, so because they're a game, because yeah,
- 59:13Speaker 4: they're already twenty about twenty five games in now, So
- 59:17Speaker 4: the first thing the NBA would have to do is
- 59:19Speaker 4: go short in the season to even try to fix
- 59:22Speaker 4: that in But the NFL hasn't faded that area, and
- 59:26Speaker 4: I just thought it was very That's that's a big
- 59:29Speaker 4: statement for the sports biggest star to let the NFL
- 59:32Speaker 4: know I see you over there.
- 59:34Speaker 1: Yeah, And that's what I'm saying.
- 59:36Speaker 4: Something's gonna have to I don't think I didn't take notice,
- 59:40Speaker 4: Now do you think these because he was probably supposed
- 59:43Speaker 4: to be looking watching the Knicks play whoever they were,
- 59:45Speaker 4: and he was in there watching Pat somebody right.
- 59:49Speaker 8: And thinking to himself, many people can't be you know.
- 59:52Speaker 4: And all it takes is one old school NBA executive
- 59:57Speaker 4: to be like, you know, they're moving in on our
- 59:59Speaker 4: terror for these guys, which would and from our paral,
- 1:00:03Speaker 4: it signed like you guys sided with the shield.
- 1:00:07Speaker 11: No, I tell you what, sports jock, you can't deny
- 1:00:10Speaker 11: the shield. They don't show up and you be like, nah,
- 1:00:13Speaker 11: I don't say nothing to them. You gotta have to
- 1:00:17Speaker 11: acknowledge them. There's no there's no ignoring the shield so
- 1:00:20Speaker 11: you and then they made it the offer you couldn't refuse.
- 1:00:24Speaker 11: How you gonna not watch Kansas City and Pittsburgh and
- 1:00:29Speaker 11: Houston and Baltimore. Yeah, we'll tune in. I felt like
- 1:00:34Speaker 11: it was bold, I felt like it was intrusive, But
- 1:00:37Speaker 11: I watched.
- 1:00:37Speaker 4: And if they game, if they had given you Baltimore Buffalo,
- 1:00:43Speaker 4: I still watch.
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: They just shut down the whole thing. Yeah, wasn't nobody they.
- 1:00:47Speaker 4: Had given you Josh Allen and Lamar because the NBA
- 1:00:51Speaker 4: games got thirty seconds from me yesterday total.
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: We'll be back more to Sports Jock Show right after this.
- 1:01:12Speaker 16: Don't Go Away or of the Sports Jock Show with
- 1:01:15Speaker 16: Wayne Dan. Videos coming up next.
- 1:01:18Speaker 6: And now let's talk about something exciting, life insurance. Three
- 1:01:21Speaker 6: quarters of Americans believe that coverage represents a critical piece
- 1:01:24Speaker 6: of financial security, yet only forty nine percent actually have
- 1:01:28Speaker 6: life insurance.
- 1:01:29Speaker 21: When I was twenty five, me and my wife were
- 1:01:31Speaker 21: just getting started with our family and thought we lived forever.
- 1:01:33Speaker 8: Life insurance was the last thing on my mind.
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: What about you?
- 1:01:36Speaker 7: Will you be leaving benefits or bills?
- 1:01:38Speaker 21: When I was forty, with a kid in college and
- 1:01:40Speaker 21: bills piling up, I was worried how my family will
- 1:01:42Speaker 21: survived without me. That's what I'm in an appointment with
- 1:01:44Speaker 21: the insurance informant.
- 1:01:45Speaker 6: Information gives you power and life insurance gives your family
- 1:01:48Speaker 6: security no matter what stage of life you're in.
- 1:01:51Speaker 21: Now that I'm older, I don't worry about whether I
- 1:01:53Speaker 21: leave my family with bills their benefits.
- 1:01:55Speaker 6: The answer is easy, whether you're twenty five or fifty,
- 1:01:58Speaker 6: whether you earn a little or a lot, All you
- 1:02:00Speaker 6: need is the insurance informat to help you build a
- 1:02:02Speaker 6: foundation of security, because without you, your family will have
- 1:02:06Speaker 6: two options, benefits or bills. Which legacy will you leave behind?
- 1:02:11Speaker 6: Log on today benefits or bills?
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: Dot Com?
- 1:02:14Speaker 7: That's benefits or bills dot Com.
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: I don't have any Why shall share your suck and
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: we hold the world ransom for Wayne?
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: Excuse me while I whip this out.
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: Sure broadcasting live and it led her to a jail.
- 1:02:36Speaker 3: This is the sports jock ship with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:02:41Speaker 4: You may vegan me up?
- 1:02:44Speaker 15: Can you win?
- 1:02:45Speaker 19: Get you frank me down?
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: Dot Com to come to Cocket, come to Mark. Is
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: it just going.
- 1:02:56Speaker 20: I'm gonna do it.
- 1:02:57Speaker 13: I'm gonna go on the way you.
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: Welcome back to this boy, shock Shum this boy, Shock
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: Wing Kend.
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: If you missed any of that first hour.
- 1:03:05Speaker 4: You can go to Apple podcast, Apple Podcast, Amazon Podcast, Audible,
- 1:03:11Speaker 4: Deezer iHeartRadio, or Spotify and catch the replay when we
- 1:03:16Speaker 4: go off Thursday night football Seattle and Chicago. I know
- 1:03:22Speaker 4: we all kind of thrown off that it was two
- 1:03:24Speaker 4: games yesterday, so you think the weekend is already here. No,
- 1:03:27Speaker 4: it's just Thursday, December to twenty six. We hope you
- 1:03:32Speaker 4: had a wonderful Christmas. Big Kenny Comanchi, Greg Bat producer
- 1:03:38Speaker 4: in the Studio, Sammy Sosa the Cub's great off of
- 1:03:42Speaker 4: the statement apologizing for alleged use of performance enhancing drugs
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: last week, almost twenty five years after smashing Major League
- 1:03:54Speaker 4: Baseball's home run a record.
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: Guys, is this means.
- 1:04:02Speaker 4: Way of basically pulling off the a rod? Is this
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: Sammy's way back of taking a page from Alex Rodriguez?
- 1:04:14Speaker 4: When you think Alex Rodriguez was caught using pds, but
- 1:04:20Speaker 4: he seemed to have the ability to not be sent
- 1:04:25Speaker 4: out to the Wolves banished, yes, by admitting to embracing it,
- 1:04:33Speaker 4: whereas stars like Roger Cleman Clemens allegedly Sammy Sosa allegedly
- 1:04:40Speaker 4: Mark McGuire allegedly those guys because they didn't just raise
- 1:04:44Speaker 4: up their hand and say like a Rod, they got banished.
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: His Big Kenny used that term. Is this his way
- 1:04:56Speaker 4: of getting back on the books, not just of the
- 1:04:59Speaker 4: cub but on the Hall of Fame path because his
- 1:05:03Speaker 4: Hall of Fame player player, But with this cloud over him,
- 1:05:07Speaker 4: because it seems like a Rod has avoided.
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: Being sent in the solitary. He does, he does the shows.
- 1:05:17Speaker 4: I'm saying, not even he ain't even incarcerated, got clemency.
- 1:05:21Speaker 8: He he he must have had Biden commuted his sentence.
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: He was straight.
- 1:05:26Speaker 8: Cut a deal. That's what it feels like.
- 1:05:28Speaker 4: Them people tell you cut the deal and make it
- 1:05:30Speaker 4: easy on yourself and the taxpayers will go easy on yourself.
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: Nothing.
- 1:05:36Speaker 11: No, it ain't even hide he Takashi six y nine
- 1:05:40Speaker 11: when in the witness protection and it was like, you
- 1:05:42Speaker 11: know what, I'm good and just went to the mall.
- 1:05:45Speaker 8: I'm saying, a Rod has suffered no repercussion.
- 1:05:48Speaker 9: At the same time, though, A Rod's not getting into
- 1:05:52Speaker 9: the Hall of Fame as far as in this with
- 1:05:55Speaker 9: the current voters, it would have to be newer voters
- 1:06:00Speaker 9: to for even to have a chance if he's still eligible,
- 1:06:03Speaker 9: because you have to get a certain percentage to stay
- 1:06:05Speaker 9: on the ballot. And with a rod he also it
- 1:06:10Speaker 9: was almost like right after he was caught that he apologized.
- 1:06:14Speaker 9: It was almost immediate. With Sammy Sosa, it's been twenty
- 1:06:19Speaker 9: years at least or whenever that report came out. So, yeah,
- 1:06:24Speaker 9: there may be an effort, it just might be too late.
- 1:06:27Speaker 4: Well, but I'm saying, regardless of whether it happened, I
- 1:06:32Speaker 4: can't even get on the track and let me ask
- 1:06:35Speaker 4: you this some kind of because I'll end up being
- 1:06:37Speaker 4: Pete Rose. Yeah, and this is what I'm going to
- 1:06:39Speaker 4: ask get on the track in my lifetime. With Sammy,
- 1:06:42Speaker 4: maybe sixty is he's sixty two, so in his lifetime
- 1:06:48Speaker 4: he's doing the math that.
- 1:06:51Speaker 8: Hey, it might take me another decade or because I'm saying,
- 1:06:55Speaker 8: now fifty six, okay, let me ask you this.
- 1:06:58Speaker 4: So this's possibility by si, is what you're saying. And
- 1:07:01Speaker 4: that's kind of I'm just saying, that's.
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: What in his mind. Fourteen years, I can be there.
- 1:07:06Speaker 8: Yeah, I might coun be there by seven. But is
- 1:07:09Speaker 8: this an admission?
- 1:07:10Speaker 11: There were times I did quote, there were times I
- 1:07:13Speaker 11: did whatever I could to recover from injuries in an
- 1:07:16Speaker 11: effort to keep my strength up to perform over one
- 1:07:20Speaker 11: hundred and sixty two games. I never broke any laws,
- 1:07:23Speaker 11: but in hindsight, I made mistakes and I apologized. In
- 1:07:29Speaker 11: case they start pressing charges. Guilty, guilty, I'm just saying
- 1:07:34Speaker 11: I might have did something. You might not be happy.
- 1:07:36Speaker 8: That didn't sound like an admission to me.
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: Well, he did enough that the Cubs have welcomed him back.
- 1:07:42Speaker 4: Yes, which offers you another pipeline to someone fighting for you,
- 1:07:47Speaker 4: advocating yet advocating.
- 1:07:48Speaker 8: A very powerful baseball club as well for you as well.
- 1:07:52Speaker 4: Yes, And if any way for me to get back
- 1:07:57Speaker 4: bad producer, I gotta put myself back in the life
- 1:08:00Speaker 4: because even though a Rod.
- 1:08:03Speaker 8: Hasn't made it yet, he's in with the media guys.
- 1:08:08Speaker 4: And now the media guys are the people who mote
- 1:08:11Speaker 4: when you one thing notice and if you go back
- 1:08:15Speaker 4: in the rolodex of your mind, everybody went to the
- 1:08:19Speaker 4: media and cleaned up their act and was given as
- 1:08:25Speaker 4: you say, clemency, Randy Moss did it, Terrell Owens did
- 1:08:30Speaker 4: not do it, so they was able to hold him
- 1:08:36Speaker 4: that one year. Yes, But as far as colorful acts
- 1:08:39Speaker 4: Randy Moss had done.
- 1:08:40Speaker 5: They were right there, neck and neck as far as
- 1:08:43Speaker 5: the kind of acts they you know, ain't never hit
- 1:08:46Speaker 5: no cop in this car.
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: But Randy Moss used the media role to smooth out Michael.
- 1:08:54Speaker 4: Ever, all these guys had no issue because they went
- 1:08:57Speaker 4: right to the media. Chris Carter, I'm gonna make you
- 1:09:00Speaker 4: forget them cocaine. We're talking about.
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: We are, oh, y'all, And.
- 1:09:08Speaker 4: That is the best way you take even some of
- 1:09:10Speaker 4: the bad boys of basketball. You know, if you to
- 1:09:15Speaker 4: watch Stephen Jackson when he played, or Matt Barnes or
- 1:09:20Speaker 4: those guys you would never throw. They could be on
- 1:09:24Speaker 4: a mic giving it vice and things. Now once they
- 1:09:27Speaker 4: got there, they just still wouldn't throttle down a little
- 1:09:29Speaker 4: bit the state because, as they say, they keeping it real.
- 1:09:34Speaker 4: Kendrick Perkins surprised me. He went from being kind of
- 1:09:37Speaker 4: a bad boy on the court to you know, he no.
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: I have the players vote.
- 1:09:43Speaker 4: I go to the media side to get the media
- 1:09:46Speaker 4: vote for these people just to share a coffee. And
- 1:09:50Speaker 4: I don't have to sit with everybody. I just have
- 1:09:52Speaker 4: to sit with one or two of them and they'll
- 1:09:54Speaker 4: pass the word. Hey, you know, what we thought he
- 1:09:57Speaker 4: was a selfish guy. Yeah that Samy's all right, But
- 1:10:00Speaker 4: you know he go down and volunteer at the old
- 1:10:03Speaker 4: folks home every weekend.
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: Sammy is a wonderful king. Yeah, man, I think we should.
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: That's all. That's how you work on them coman. That's
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: it's it's I. It's a.
- 1:10:14Speaker 9: It's a it's going to be a long road still
- 1:10:16Speaker 9: for for Sammy Sosa, because it is for for a
- 1:10:20Speaker 9: Rod and he he admitted it right away and it's
- 1:10:25Speaker 9: still it's so. But it's still some work to do
- 1:10:27Speaker 9: because you know, some a lot with baseball writers don't
- 1:10:30Speaker 9: get more sensitive and they feel away.
- 1:10:32Speaker 8: And but pitching it to a Rod doing the World
- 1:10:36Speaker 8: Series to get his opinion.
- 1:10:39Speaker 4: It's a game change is a game change. So Sammy,
- 1:10:41Speaker 4: don't get this hurd. It's just do a little community
- 1:10:46Speaker 4: service there.
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: You maybe can work out. All I got is time
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: and money.
- 1:10:49Speaker 8: There you go, Sammy, little community service probation. You see
- 1:10:54Speaker 8: what I'm saying.
- 1:10:54Speaker 4: You meet all your probation appointments, you do some community service.
- 1:10:58Speaker 8: Them folks that take that stuf off your record.
- 1:11:01Speaker 4: And that's all when I saw and it was more
- 1:11:03Speaker 4: I was saying okay, saying Sammy has This is the
- 1:11:06Speaker 4: aftermath of these men who might have this flag over them,
- 1:11:10Speaker 4: seeing the great Pete Rolls.
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: Get drug until his death.
- 1:11:17Speaker 4: And as I say, I no one to be surprised
- 1:11:20Speaker 4: if twenty twenty six they say they putting Pete.
- 1:11:23Speaker 5: Rolls, Oh, I'm not gonna be surprised in the Hall
- 1:11:26Speaker 5: of Fame. It's going right now. That's why they have
- 1:11:28Speaker 5: that going down.
- 1:11:30Speaker 4: If they put Charlie Hustle in the Baseball Hall of
- 1:11:33Speaker 4: Fame in twenty twenty five, I'm going to Cooperstown and
- 1:11:37Speaker 4: I'm gonna slap all that stuff off the table.
- 1:11:39Speaker 8: I ain't lying.
- 1:11:40Speaker 11: I'm gonna push it all over y'all. Don't y'all do
- 1:11:42Speaker 11: Charlie Hustle like that? Let him if he ain't coming,
- 1:11:45Speaker 11: he ain't coming, No, no, we want no. No you
- 1:11:48Speaker 11: didn't you just send him his invitation when he can read.
- 1:11:50Speaker 11: He could have did that, you could have done for
- 1:11:52Speaker 11: five years ago. No no, no, no, come on, man,
- 1:11:55Speaker 11: you let that boy. He was on all that cocaine,
- 1:11:58Speaker 11: and I ain't trying to throw him under the bus.
- 1:12:00Speaker 11: I'm saying he deserved to get you. What I'm saying
- 1:12:02Speaker 11: charliehs is the greatest ever did it. But you should
- 1:12:05Speaker 11: have let him in when he could have said something.
- 1:12:07Speaker 11: But we let him in there no moment with you.
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: You should when he.
- 1:12:12Speaker 8: Could have got to the pody you've been saying.
- 1:12:14Speaker 4: I bet y'all, I was gonna get you, and I
- 1:12:16Speaker 4: wont We invited Pete Rose Junior and his grandson. And
- 1:12:20Speaker 4: if he don't smack that up on the day, I'm
- 1:12:25Speaker 4: gonna take his name. Just smack it on the ground.
- 1:12:28Speaker 8: Call you Pete Rose.
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: Just what I do.
- 1:12:30Speaker 8: You will not stuff over and I and I put
- 1:12:33Speaker 8: a prop bet on.
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: Myself that I smack it on the ground.
- 1:12:36Speaker 4: Let me give you one of these free peak rolls

- 1:13:34Speaker 4: doing just the cub game.
- 1:13:35Speaker 11: I was going to say, you know, they do streaming now,
- 1:13:37Speaker 11: so he could be just the Cub's network guy.
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: Yeah, the Cubs games. That's it.
- 1:13:44Speaker 4: Yeah, because doing doing as you're saying, doing someone's game
- 1:13:49Speaker 4: is national, Yes, based on who wants to see it.

- 1:21:08Speaker 4: Denzel Washington got baptized and received his minister license.
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: Wait now is it am design or was it Wait
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: now baptist? Wait now? Wait now? I didn't get into
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: Wait now, Amy Zion.
- 1:21:25Speaker 4: You know we're gonna have to talk to God about
- 1:21:27Speaker 4: that when we stand before him, because he didn't break
- 1:21:30Speaker 4: his religion down all that that was something man did
- 1:21:33Speaker 4: and then, so don't bring that here. That don't bring
- 1:21:36Speaker 4: that here, because you even got me mixed up in
- 1:21:38Speaker 4: that conversation like.
- 1:21:39Speaker 8: In court, God be on something. Yeah you said, Amy,
- 1:21:41Speaker 8: I ain't said none of that.
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: But none of that.
- 1:21:47Speaker 5: No, see that he goes with all them Presbyterian, with
- 1:21:51Speaker 5: all them Zionist.
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: Oh there you go, there you go.
- 1:21:57Speaker 4: I got enough problem just even people wanted what you
- 1:22:00Speaker 4: doing here? How you even get in here without going
- 1:22:03Speaker 4: through all of that style and you have to trying
- 1:22:05Speaker 4: to explain. Hey, right, I've been.
- 1:22:11Speaker 8: Preaching.
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: Now let me ask you this.
- 1:22:13Speaker 8: Though you got baptized, then you got your license, miniSTR.
- 1:22:19Speaker 8: You didn't want to do one in far advance of
- 1:22:23Speaker 8: the other.
- 1:22:23Speaker 4: Well, I do know some people go and get rebaptized, okay,
- 1:22:28Speaker 4: especially people like that did it when they were in
- 1:22:32Speaker 4: their teens and stuff like that, when they feel like
- 1:22:35Speaker 4: maybe they was they made the choice because of something
- 1:22:40Speaker 4: outside of there, all the religious contoys.
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: Yes, I do know that. I've seen.
- 1:22:44Speaker 4: I've been to church when people stepped up and they
- 1:22:47Speaker 4: actually said it in that manner like, hey, I got
- 1:22:50Speaker 4: baptized at fourteen or fifteen, But it was probably it
- 1:22:54Speaker 4: was more on the family guardrails and now I'm forty two.
- 1:22:59Speaker 4: I want to to rededicate my rededicate myself by me
- 1:23:03Speaker 4: clearly making this choice. So maybe it could could. I'm
- 1:23:07Speaker 4: not saying that's it. I'm saying, but that could be why,
- 1:23:11Speaker 4: uh it coincided together. But Denzel the pastors now and
- 1:23:15Speaker 4: what you know he said he's well no, he said
- 1:23:17Speaker 4: he's getting ready to retire. He said, you got about
- 1:23:19Speaker 4: five movies left in it, and well now it's four
- 1:23:25Speaker 4: because he just released Gladiator too.
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: Can he do Lewis ferri Con? I wonder he did Malcolm,
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: so you're gonna try to do Farcon on that mouthol.
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: I'm just saying in minisine, now, who can he be?
- 1:23:38Speaker 8: I think he would be equalizer for TDJ.
- 1:23:43Speaker 4: Could he light He would because he would definitely have
- 1:23:46Speaker 4: to lighten his skin, brother, if he wanted to be
- 1:23:50Speaker 4: a convincing minister. Lewis Farakhan And I don't mean to
- 1:23:55Speaker 4: disparage brother Denzel, believe me.
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: But Denzel watching The Big Seven zero.
- 1:24:03Speaker 4: Wet in five years for actors, that's that's five years
- 1:24:08Speaker 4: or five movies.
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: Five movies.
- 1:24:10Speaker 4: Five movies could be ten years. Yeah, yeah, based on
- 1:24:13Speaker 4: the project. Yeah, he could stretch him out, especially the
- 1:24:15Speaker 4: kind of projects he does.
- 1:24:16Speaker 11: Yeah three years, yeah, yeah, eighteen months, fourteen months worth
- 1:24:20Speaker 11: of shooting yo, saying that sounds like, oh, he'd be done.
- 1:24:25Speaker 8: Seven next thing, you know, eighty nine years old.
- 1:24:29Speaker 5: So there's been a lot of celebrities going to get
- 1:24:31Speaker 5: minister license here lately.
- 1:24:34Speaker 4: And then then I trust me, if nothing make you
- 1:24:36Speaker 4: seek the lord to entertainment business, dude, well you entertainment
- 1:24:40Speaker 4: business will make you get your Hey, God, look now, man,
- 1:24:44Speaker 4: I was trying to get out years at the but
- 1:24:46Speaker 4: I was trying to break into the business file you know,
- 1:24:49Speaker 4: how to go in Hollywood. Man, trying to convinced that

- 1:26:00Speaker 20: excited HI to text all my friends right there to

- 1:27:01Speaker 24: I've been given full access to the players lounge on
- 1:27:04Speaker 24: the Sports Jack Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:27:28Speaker 4: Welcome back to the Sports Shock Show. I'm the Sports
- 1:27:30Speaker 4: Shock Wayne Canny. This Thursday, So Thursday night football Seattle
- 1:27:36Speaker 4: trying to continue getting into the playoffs.
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: Two weeks to go.
- 1:27:43Speaker 8: Chicago is getting ready for the draft therefore and e eleven.
- 1:27:49Speaker 8: But the Seahawks have a chance to win the division.
- 1:27:52Speaker 8: Them and the l A Rams are going to fight
- 1:27:55Speaker 8: it out to the end. Beginnea Shay. We had a
- 1:27:59Speaker 8: couple of comments on Yeah. From the top of the show.
- 1:28:03Speaker 11: Our lawyer listener from New York, Jared Lloyd, let us
- 1:28:05Speaker 11: know that the Jags, Titans, Brown's, Raiders, and Pat's all
- 1:28:08Speaker 11: have three wins. He told us that his least likely
- 1:28:11Speaker 11: favorite song was this is how We Do It. Romala
- 1:28:14Speaker 11: says good Morning, Kubasa says Grand Rising, and Uncle char Well.
- 1:28:21Speaker 11: Jared also said there's a snoop dogg Arizona Bowl. He's
- 1:28:24Speaker 11: questioning that. And then Uncle Charlie said that Sammy Sosa,
- 1:28:27Speaker 11: Barry Bonds, and Mark McGuire might as well going and
- 1:28:30Speaker 11: open up a cannabis store. They never get the Hall
- 1:28:33Speaker 11: of Fame trophy. Cannabis store ain't no bad advent.
- 1:28:38Speaker 4: Well, as I said, I don't know whether they can
- 1:28:40Speaker 4: do it or not, but I know that they're never
- 1:28:43Speaker 4: gonna have a chance if they keep on.
- 1:28:47Speaker 8: Performance enhancing drugs.
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: Are you what, that's crazy? Some kind of admission? Why
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: would I do that?
- 1:28:54Speaker 20: Like?
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: Who does that?
- 1:28:55Speaker 4: To what A lot of people felt like they participated
- 1:28:59Speaker 4: in and for some of them, like Sami so like
- 1:29:02Speaker 4: Mark McGuire, some of the things there in the nineties
- 1:29:06Speaker 4: were not against always them.
- 1:29:12Speaker 10: To do it.
- 1:29:13Speaker 11: Yeah, I was just about to say that what is
- 1:29:16Speaker 11: it about the fact that Mark McGuire Barry Bonds went
- 1:29:22Speaker 11: up like two and a half hat sizes in that
- 1:29:25Speaker 11: era and nobody said anything about it, like how does
- 1:29:29Speaker 11: your skull grow? And then without any assistance, sir.
- 1:29:32Speaker 5: There are a lot of baseball purists that are upset
- 1:29:35Speaker 5: the fact that like Bud Seeley, who was the owner
- 1:29:38Speaker 5: of the Milwaukee Brewers and president of Major League Baseball
- 1:29:42Speaker 5: at the time when a lot of all of this
- 1:29:44Speaker 5: was happening.
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: He's in the Hall of.
- 1:29:46Speaker 5: Fame, but you you allowed all this under your watch,
- 1:29:50Speaker 5: But you're the one who's holding these guys out and
- 1:29:54Speaker 5: coming against it. So I mean it's a And I
- 1:29:56Speaker 5: like the fact that Barry Bonds, he's is quietly kept
- 1:29:59Speaker 5: but he's back in baseball. He's he's he's helping, he's coaching.
- 1:30:03Speaker 5: I see Roger Clement still doing anything, and they're not
- 1:30:06Speaker 5: making a big deal about it.
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: They're just going on.
- 1:30:08Speaker 5: And I like the fact because if they've said that,
- 1:30:11Speaker 5: they feel that, hey, we were not in the wrong
- 1:30:13Speaker 5: and we're just gonna keep on.
- 1:30:15Speaker 4: Growing the game of baseball. And meanwhile Kobe went to
- 1:30:19Speaker 4: Europe and got some new blood. Yeah, well, Barry, Roger
- 1:30:27Speaker 4: and all the people still will have to do something
- 1:30:30Speaker 4: similar to Sammy and and so at least on.
- 1:30:35Speaker 9: The road to the possibility of it. Give that Barry Bonds.
- 1:30:40Speaker 9: I think Roder Clement is technically never tested positive.
- 1:30:44Speaker 4: Yes, got to say nothing. Really, That's why I'm saying,
- 1:30:48Speaker 4: just keep it moving and say they had to admit
- 1:30:50Speaker 4: to whatever. They're gonna have to make some type of
- 1:30:54Speaker 4: to this media, I'm I'm on their side. I think
- 1:30:57Speaker 4: that I said the other day with Ricky Henderson, Barry
- 1:30:59Speaker 4: Bonds is the greatest clear of those two that I saw,
- 1:31:02Speaker 4: So obviously I believe he lungs in the Hall of Fame.
- 1:31:05Speaker 4: But at some point you have to start trying to
- 1:31:07Speaker 4: solve the problem and not just sitting there pouting. It's like, Okay,
- 1:31:13Speaker 4: the tire is flat.
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: What do I do?
- 1:31:17Speaker 4: Pouting about it is not going to get it fixed
- 1:31:20Speaker 4: or move. So either I gotta start walking, calling or unscrewing.
- 1:31:26Speaker 4: So seems like Sammy has decided to try some kind
- 1:31:30Speaker 4: of method, and as Big King said, he kind of
- 1:31:33Speaker 4: gave a general apology. Then I pointing is one thing specifically,
- 1:31:39Speaker 4: but he did all we all human did. He did
- 1:31:41Speaker 4: enough to get the Chicago Cubs back behind it. And
- 1:31:46Speaker 4: that's how you got to admit in Chicago has to
- 1:31:48Speaker 4: be in human.
- 1:31:49Speaker 14: Man, you know.
- 1:31:50Speaker 4: And sometimes what people forget in these votings for any
- 1:31:54Speaker 4: kind of Hall of fame, the media still today owns
- 1:31:59Speaker 4: about how off the votes you think about, Like you
- 1:32:04Speaker 4: look at something and realize, oh, this guy didn't get
- 1:32:07Speaker 4: one hundred percent vote. Someone like a Lebron James will
- 1:32:11Speaker 4: come up yeah and only get ninety six percent. Why
- 1:32:20Speaker 4: some writers are in their exact feelings, in their feelings.
- 1:32:24Speaker 4: But yeah, but baseball, there's only been one unanimous Hall
- 1:32:27Speaker 4: of Fame Hall of Famer.
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: Correct, Mario Rivera right? Rivera right.
- 1:32:35Speaker 8: So you're saying all them guys before that made it,
- 1:32:39Speaker 8: so you sain't Willie Mays was not.
- 1:32:41Speaker 4: Just one hall Aaron, You're gonna tell me that that
- 1:32:49Speaker 4: Ricky Henderson.
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: Was not one hundred percent one didn't like he spoken
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: third person. It woun't be for anything, And that's what
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: I mean.
- 1:33:00Speaker 8: But only players do that.
- 1:33:01Speaker 4: Real players understand, only true players speaking third person because
- 1:33:06Speaker 4: see Big Kenny understand the game because Big Kenny understand
- 1:33:10Speaker 4: how to play. So you see how invalid that is
- 1:33:13Speaker 4: for you to tell me that only Mariano Rivera and
- 1:33:19Speaker 4: uh sport. That's been around one hundred and forty years.
- 1:33:25Speaker 4: You know if I'm wrong, I'm wrong, But I'm just
- 1:33:26Speaker 4: saying since basically nineteen hundred that he's the only baseball player.
- 1:33:33Speaker 4: So bab ruth, you know that they make movies about
- 1:33:38Speaker 4: They can make one today and people will tune in
- 1:33:40Speaker 4: to it. They sure will Willie May's Ty Cobb, all
- 1:33:44Speaker 4: those guys. Nobody was one hundred percent except for Mariano Rivera.
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: Babe Bruce called his shot that showboting. They didn't like that.
- 1:33:53Speaker 8: And I guess when it comes to Rivera, what did
- 1:33:57Speaker 8: he not do that they love so much?
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: He didn't talk, maybe, but he'd been in the game,
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: but he didn't get a chance to talk.
- 1:34:06Speaker 8: He was a closer, and he just closed and went home,
- 1:34:10Speaker 8: kept his mouth closed.
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: The big unit.
- 1:34:11Speaker 4: You're telling me you found something wrong with he killed
- 1:34:14Speaker 4: that bird. It shouldn't It should have came across the
- 1:34:18Speaker 4: strike zone. I'm saying nobody, Nobody gave him credit across
- 1:34:23Speaker 4: for the ability to calculate that level of physics, the
- 1:34:27Speaker 4: speed and impact and time and balant decision.
- 1:34:33Speaker 8: The bird with a ball stop.
- 1:34:37Speaker 4: Hip Hop is a big thing here in Atlanta is
- 1:34:39Speaker 4: a big thing in sports, as you know, as we
- 1:34:42Speaker 4: talk about whether it's Kendrick Lamar in halftime performances or
- 1:34:47Speaker 4: commercials warm ups, getting the energy going in the arena.
- 1:34:54Speaker 4: Here in Atlanta, hip hop is supreme as the music
- 1:34:56Speaker 4: of choice. Uh And one of Atlanta's artists very interesting
- 1:35:02Speaker 4: Lee a little baby, and I don't know little Baby's
- 1:35:06Speaker 4: real name, but I am reading the article where a
- 1:35:10Speaker 4: little Baby admits that he had to have the former
- 1:35:19Speaker 4: owner of the Sixers, Mike Rubin, to ban him and
- 1:35:28Speaker 4: ask Mike Rubin's friends that owned the casinos to ban
- 1:35:34Speaker 4: him from casinos because he has a gambling problem. He
- 1:35:42Speaker 4: has to make that one day, lost about eight million
- 1:35:45Speaker 4: dollars in that day in like a forty hour period.
- 1:35:49Speaker 4: And it really struck me, first of all, for the
- 1:35:51Speaker 4: young man who I think we had his birthday, he
- 1:35:53Speaker 4: might have been thirty thirty one here recacil that we
- 1:35:57Speaker 4: had you know a lot of facts about the stalking dude.
- 1:36:03Speaker 8: No, just you know, you know, you do a lot
- 1:36:05Speaker 8: of you know with that crowd when but.
- 1:36:10Speaker 4: I thought for a young man at that age to
- 1:36:14Speaker 4: go to those steps, and I've been waiting for something
- 1:36:17Speaker 4: to tap how we're pushing gambling to a generation not
- 1:36:25Speaker 4: knowing the ramifications for the future, because you know, some
- 1:36:30Speaker 4: dabta you got to give a space, as we say,
- 1:36:32Speaker 4: let it breathe. So you have to imagine the twenty
- 1:36:35Speaker 4: five year old and how something you're doing now you
- 1:36:40Speaker 4: gotta wait till they forty forty five to see the
- 1:36:43Speaker 4: effects of that, and for him, I wonder how much
- 1:36:48Speaker 4: of to be addicted by thirty thirty thirty one to
- 1:36:52Speaker 4: where he's not only trying not to gamble, but he
- 1:36:56Speaker 4: needs some assistance.
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: That's that's a big statement.
- 1:36:59Speaker 5: Now, Now to pick up a phone, and what I'm
- 1:37:02Speaker 5: saying is this, all your casinos and call all your
- 1:37:05Speaker 5: buddies that own casinos and ban me.
- 1:37:09Speaker 8: Now this is something.
- 1:37:11Speaker 11: The only point of reference I have to that is
- 1:37:14Speaker 11: that's one of those family wide. Look, if Tony come
- 1:37:18Speaker 11: by your house asking for money, don't nobody get Tony
- 1:37:20Speaker 11: no money.
- 1:37:22Speaker 4: That's what gata gonna smoke your tea. Don't let him
- 1:37:25Speaker 4: in the house, don't let him in your car.
- 1:37:27Speaker 11: Not everybody has recognized that this person has a problem.
- 1:37:32Speaker 11: This person has recognized the only way that I'm going
- 1:37:35Speaker 11: to get a handle on this problem is to be
- 1:37:38Speaker 11: restricted from access. I can't even go to that side
- 1:37:43Speaker 11: of town or I'm gonna be in trouble. That's a
- 1:37:46Speaker 11: serious gambling problem.
- 1:37:47Speaker 5: And then it was shocking to me when I heard
- 1:37:50Speaker 5: the restored and report about the eight million, and I
- 1:37:52Speaker 5: still let them figured out if it was on sports,
- 1:37:55Speaker 5: or was he playing cards or it was just fun
- 1:37:58Speaker 5: games in the casino or was it just bets books?
- 1:38:01Speaker 1: That's my that's what does it matter.
- 1:38:03Speaker 8: If it's eight million, it probably was everything.
- 1:38:05Speaker 5: And that's what I'm I'm just saying, I like to
- 1:38:08Speaker 5: play poker, and now I ain't gonna sit up there again.
- 1:38:10Speaker 11: Well, and see this segues into my question. Every time
- 1:38:14Speaker 11: they have the gambling commercials on, they do the equivalent
- 1:38:18Speaker 11: to the alcohol beer commercials, where they say drink responsibly,
- 1:38:23Speaker 11: gamble responsibly. But there is a law that is in
- 1:38:26Speaker 11: force that if I am having too much to drink
- 1:38:29Speaker 11: in your establishment, you're supposed to cut me off. You
- 1:38:32Speaker 11: can see I'm in trouble. This man's had way more
- 1:38:34Speaker 11: alcohol than any human supposed to have in that amount
- 1:38:37Speaker 11: of time. He's not supposed to do anything. It's not
- 1:38:40Speaker 11: same with gambling. You're telling me to gamble responsibly, but
- 1:38:43Speaker 11: I'm eight million dollars deep in my losses in forty
- 1:38:46Speaker 11: hours and you still deal it.
- 1:38:48Speaker 8: You didne got me a fresh dealer to come in
- 1:38:50Speaker 8: and you know, fresh car.
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: Yeah. See, if your luck chain.
- 1:38:54Speaker 8: We'll be back with more sports shot show right after
- 1:38:57Speaker 8: that created a buck.
- 1:38:58Speaker 4: You've made the same mistake politicians had talking all that Jazz.

- 1:41:50Speaker 4: Big canny welcome back to this worshop tell him the
- 1:41:54Speaker 4: sport shock wing.
- 1:41:55Speaker 1: Can't he good morning to you.
- 1:41:56Speaker 4: We were talking about the rapper or little baby and
- 1:42:01Speaker 4: gambling and just I just one of those conscious people
- 1:42:05Speaker 4: of knowing that certain things you put into motion you
- 1:42:08Speaker 4: have to give time to see whether it's alcohol. And
- 1:42:13Speaker 4: we've seen how the care freeness of that is on
- 1:42:18Speaker 4: one killer for like auto accident and things like that,
- 1:42:22Speaker 4: and people when they research it, where will you know
- 1:42:26Speaker 4: what will be the effect of this kind of open
- 1:42:28Speaker 4: free cannabis world.
- 1:42:31Speaker 1: We kind of have to wait and see, and some.
- 1:42:34Speaker 4: Of it's already presenting itself. Yeah, And the same thing
- 1:42:36Speaker 4: with the gambling. Gambling used to be something that society
- 1:42:40Speaker 4: knew went on, but with Sean done so you kind
- 1:42:44Speaker 4: of it would give you a little societal buffer buffer
- 1:42:49Speaker 4: yes to you know, to limit it, don't do it
- 1:42:53Speaker 4: so frequently, you know, kind of mindset. Now it's just
- 1:42:58Speaker 4: kind of wide open to do all almost any and everywhere.
- 1:43:02Speaker 4: At some point you don't just have to go to
- 1:43:05Speaker 4: Vegas or Atlantic City to get it done. It's one
- 1:43:09Speaker 4: step away on your cell phone. Yes, you don't even
- 1:43:14Speaker 4: have to keep punching in your credit card. You want
- 1:43:16Speaker 4: us to hold that in, to.
- 1:43:18Speaker 8: Hold that, yes we will.
- 1:43:20Speaker 4: Would you like to receive push notifications? You know they
- 1:43:24Speaker 4: got the bills by three?
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: Yeah, we ain't even got to pay.
- 1:43:29Speaker 8: The line on the bills is seven.
- 1:43:31Speaker 1: They like like a special when like Josh Allen gets
- 1:43:34Speaker 1: one yard.
- 1:43:36Speaker 4: You right, So we do have to as we laugh
- 1:43:39Speaker 4: about it now, but it could be ten fifteen years
- 1:43:44Speaker 4: of all four of us here. That's something we're talking about, like, Wow,
- 1:43:48Speaker 4: we didn't know it was gonna have that kind of
- 1:43:51Speaker 4: detriment and people's life.
- 1:43:53Speaker 10: But we do know.
- 1:43:55Speaker 4: Gambling has led to abuse, It has led to suicide,
- 1:44:00Speaker 4: it has led to what people have done things. And
- 1:44:03Speaker 4: gambling is even we're talking about just people on the
- 1:44:06Speaker 4: stock market because that's a certain kind of gambling. So
- 1:44:10Speaker 4: even that where we get one or two a year
- 1:44:15Speaker 4: that someone thought milk futures were going up. Man, then
- 1:44:19Speaker 4: bird flew came along and now I'm out here try
- 1:44:24Speaker 4: to get it, you know what I mean? And everybody
- 1:44:26Speaker 4: is worse for it. Yeah, so we will see what
- 1:44:29Speaker 4: I thought. And these are the things that people always
- 1:44:32Speaker 4: why are you unwrapped? I believe once you get the
- 1:44:35Speaker 4: mic as equal as you can talk about the party,
- 1:44:40Speaker 4: you can expose yourself to try to get people to
- 1:44:44Speaker 4: understand what part of the party is an issue.
- 1:44:47Speaker 1: So as much as you.
- 1:44:48Speaker 4: Wrapping about oh, I dropped a hundred bands on the falcons,
- 1:44:53Speaker 4: you can write me a bar that's telling them how
- 1:44:56Speaker 4: that screwed up something as well. And that was the
- 1:45:00Speaker 4: balance that I'm always passing to the generation behind. Yes,
- 1:45:05Speaker 4: we had select groups of the trap house music style rap,
- 1:45:13Speaker 4: but we had also a conscious rap that kind of balanced.
- 1:45:18Speaker 4: And now it just seems to be one way. But
- 1:45:20Speaker 4: I like and have to applaud. I'm not just gonna
- 1:45:23Speaker 4: tear somebody. I like that little baby. Put this out
- 1:45:26Speaker 4: there for any people or any person excuse me that
- 1:45:32Speaker 4: don't see how you can get carried away. I've seen
- 1:45:37Speaker 4: different reports of the college students gambling, that college students
- 1:45:42Speaker 4: getting into the debt and they're getting to in college
- 1:45:46Speaker 4: that is just going on. They're betting on those games
- 1:45:49Speaker 4: and walking to that stadium and you know, you're acting
- 1:45:52Speaker 4: like they're not betting in there their prop betting and
- 1:45:55Speaker 4: they're right there at their seat.
- 1:45:56Speaker 1: And this is what they used to just get with.
- 1:45:58Speaker 11: The bookie now is on the And this is the
- 1:46:00Speaker 11: thing that happens a lot of times with addiction is
- 1:46:03Speaker 11: when you're in the throes of becoming addicted, you don't
- 1:46:07Speaker 11: think you're becoming addicted. The people around you think we
- 1:46:10Speaker 11: all just having fun, we all just placing a couple bets,
- 1:46:14Speaker 11: we all just having a couple extra drinks. And then
- 1:46:17Speaker 11: you get an environment where nobody's doing that and you
- 1:46:20Speaker 11: feel compelled to still continue. So you know, these kids
- 1:46:25Speaker 11: think we're just betting because it's a home game or whatever.
- 1:46:27Speaker 11: And then you find yourself in class checking your betting
- 1:46:30Speaker 11: sheet on your phone and you realize this is getting
- 1:46:33Speaker 11: a little bit too much for me.
- 1:46:35Speaker 4: Twenty six year old female and a forty two year
- 1:46:38Speaker 4: old male Christmas Eve, New York City subway attacks. The
- 1:46:45Speaker 4: young lady will stab the gentleman had his wrisk cut.
- 1:46:50Speaker 4: I do know within the last week some a person
- 1:46:54Speaker 4: was set on set on fire and death on the
- 1:46:58Speaker 4: sub What do.
- 1:46:59Speaker 1: You think is going on in the subway? This is
- 1:47:05Speaker 1: my opinion. The subways.
- 1:47:09Speaker 4: And different because it's not like they just built the
- 1:47:11Speaker 4: subway in New York it's right, And that's.
- 1:47:16Speaker 1: The confusing part.
- 1:47:18Speaker 11: I was going to say that subways it's wintertime, and
- 1:47:22Speaker 11: usually because of wintertime in big cities like a New York,
- 1:47:25Speaker 11: it's coal. The homeless, the indigent, the mentally affected go
- 1:47:30Speaker 11: underground to seek the warmth and the shelter, and then
- 1:47:33Speaker 11: they enact a lot of this stuff.
- 1:47:35Speaker 1: But that ain't changed.
- 1:47:37Speaker 11: They've had subways in New York for one hundred years possibly,
- 1:47:42Speaker 11: and people hadn't been running around setting people on fire.
- 1:47:46Speaker 11: I think that there's an uptick of random acts of violence.
- 1:47:51Speaker 11: And for me, they just this was interesting to me
- 1:47:56Speaker 11: because they just found the subway what they call strangler
- 1:47:59Speaker 11: or a guy who choked a man who was harassing
- 1:48:02Speaker 11: people on the subway and the man passed away. What
- 1:48:08Speaker 11: are we to do in these situations? These experiences affect people.
- 1:48:12Speaker 11: You ever been on the train and watch a woman
- 1:48:14Speaker 11: get set on fire and burn the death, you probably
- 1:48:17Speaker 11: be a little tense, well a little time you get
- 1:48:20Speaker 11: on the train.
- 1:48:21Speaker 5: Backstory on that that person that was strangled, he was
- 1:48:24Speaker 5: a mental ill person and was in the top five
- 1:48:27Speaker 5: of New York, top ten of sixty million people in
- 1:48:31Speaker 5: New York. That's mentally ill. That shouldn't be walking around.
- 1:48:34Speaker 5: It shouldn't even been on the train.
- 1:48:36Speaker 11: Well, and I'm saying, and if you're in the top
- 1:48:39Speaker 11: five of people who have been identified and shouldn't be
- 1:48:42Speaker 11: on the train and you still made it on, I'm
- 1:48:44Speaker 11: looking at commands you Greg even more scrutiny than I
- 1:48:48Speaker 11: did yesterday. I'm looking at sports jock even more closely.
- 1:48:52Speaker 11: And it makes these people super tense. And I'm saying,
- 1:48:54Speaker 11: what am I supposed to do when I'm spooked these
- 1:48:58Speaker 11: You're I don't know how to I don't know what
- 1:49:00Speaker 11: to do about people setting people on fire? Man, I
- 1:49:02Speaker 11: ain't got no point of reference for that, and not
- 1:49:04Speaker 11: seen a lot of crazy stuff I've never seen that.
- 1:49:07Speaker 8: We'll be back from more a Sports Jock Show right
- 1:49:09Speaker 8: after this.
- 1:49:11Speaker 1: Weird Wait hold.

- 1:49:25Speaker 12: Yes, coming up next, babes, what are you doing what?
- 1:49:31Speaker 1: I'm just s mowing the lawn.
- 1:49:32Speaker 6: No, it's blazing hot and dry out here, don't you
- 1:49:35Speaker 6: remember Smokey.
- 1:49:36Speaker 29: Bear says, avoid using power equipment when it's windyer, dry,
- 1:49:41Speaker 29: where'd you learn this? Oh, it's a smokybear dot com
- 1:49:44Speaker 29: with many other wildfire prevention.
- 1:49:47Speaker 1: Tips right, thanks, honey bear.
- 1:49:50Speaker 29: Because remember, only you can prevent wildfires.

- 1:50:48Speaker 30: as sixty degrees fairnight.
- 1:50:50Speaker 12: Never happens before you leave the car. Always stop look lock.
- 1:50:55Speaker 12: Brought to you by Nitz and the ad Council.
- 1:51:00Speaker 1: Back to the Sports Job, Wayne Gandy.
- 1:51:04Speaker 24: Now it's time for the school board when we put
- 1:51:08Speaker 24: a spin on LFE and sports and how they intermingle
- 1:51:12Speaker 24: on the Sports Jack Show with Wayne Gandy.
- 1:51:35Speaker 4: Welcome back to this war Shock show. I'm this wart
- 1:51:36Speaker 4: shock Wayne Gandy. Uh, it's still bowl season. I know
- 1:51:41Speaker 4: most of us are just waiting for the next round
- 1:51:44Speaker 4: of the college football playoffs, which should be on Tuesday.
- 1:51:49Speaker 4: I think it's the first game of that next set
- 1:51:53Speaker 4: of the semi finals or is it quarterfinals? Thirty first
- 1:52:00Speaker 4: and the first, But there are all bowl games today.
- 1:52:04Speaker 4: Pitt plays Toledo, Arkansas State plays Bowling Green, Rutgers plays
- 1:52:11Speaker 4: Kansas State. I know Colorado, Oh Prime and his players.
- 1:52:17Speaker 4: He got his players out there with a whole bunch
- 1:52:20Speaker 4: of insurance to protect them in the game. Not sure
- 1:52:25Speaker 4: how much they will play, but he does have those
- 1:52:28Speaker 4: guys under some insurance policies, which is always good.
- 1:52:32Speaker 1: At this point.
- 1:52:33Speaker 4: His son Travis Hunter, and any of those seniors that
- 1:52:37Speaker 4: have decided to play in the Bowl that none of
- 1:52:40Speaker 4: us even know what they're playing, or who they're playing,
- 1:52:43Speaker 4: or care to even watch they're playing.
- 1:52:46Speaker 5: BYU, I knew that. I knew that, not that it matters,
- 1:52:50Speaker 5: but I was just giving my credit about the insurance
- 1:52:54Speaker 5: policies there. I'm familiar with that, like seeing college players basketball,
- 1:52:59Speaker 5: but I've never for this first time I've heard of
- 1:53:04Speaker 5: college players playing in a bowl game or getting the
- 1:53:06Speaker 5: Lords of London that insurance policy. Really yeah, I knew basketball.
- 1:53:11Speaker 5: I knew that, like the guys the first year won
- 1:53:13Speaker 5: the one and Dons, that was the.
- 1:53:15Speaker 1: Thing for them to do.
- 1:53:16Speaker 4: But I don't know we was getting. We were getting
- 1:53:18Speaker 4: Lord so London. Back when I was in college, Okay, yeah,
- 1:53:22Speaker 4: they've been around. It was always about getting insured if
- 1:53:26Speaker 4: you had the money or you gotta agent your senior year.
- 1:53:34Speaker 1: So yeah, I first heard of it with with Willis McGahee.
- 1:53:39Speaker 9: He got he got hurt in the National Championship game,
- 1:53:42Speaker 9: but he had just completed everything as far as the
- 1:53:45Speaker 9: insurance that day. So even though he wasn't he towards
- 1:53:50Speaker 9: a cl in the National Championship Game, he was able
- 1:53:53Speaker 9: to still handle everything before he got drafted.
- 1:53:58Speaker 4: They had a good NFL career also, Still, so yeah,
- 1:54:02Speaker 4: I researched it when I was in college, decided not
- 1:54:05Speaker 4: to go with it. So, yeah, Lords of London, this
- 1:54:09Speaker 4: kind of insurance has been around a long time. Well,
- 1:54:11Speaker 4: like I said, I knew it's been mostly basketball. I
- 1:54:14Speaker 4: never realized that the college aspect of the football players,
- 1:54:17Speaker 4: you don't have the money. That was one of the
- 1:54:20Speaker 4: first things. Now kids have the money themselves. They don't
- 1:54:22Speaker 4: even have to go to an agent to get the
- 1:54:25Speaker 4: agent put the money up, Travis Hunt them got their
- 1:54:29Speaker 4: own money, put themselves to put that kind of money
- 1:54:31Speaker 4: up for themselves. Man, your great wants to know, wants
- 1:54:36Speaker 4: you to know that, Miriam Webster, the word of the
- 1:54:39Speaker 4: year is polarization. Yes, okay, have you used that this year?
- 1:54:44Speaker 10: No?
- 1:54:45Speaker 1: Can they have used that this year?
- 1:54:47Speaker 11: Of course I've used polarization this year. I guess my
- 1:54:53Speaker 11: question would be how many times? Really, you know, you're
- 1:54:57Speaker 11: just in a regular conversation every day. Let me get
- 1:55:01Speaker 11: number three with geez upsize it and hold the polarization.
- 1:55:10Speaker 8: What do you use the word like? How does that
- 1:55:12Speaker 8: become the word of.
- 1:55:12Speaker 1: The year polarized but not polarization? Yeah?
- 1:55:16Speaker 4: Used even if I used polarized maybe once. And I
- 1:55:22Speaker 4: was going to say he said he used the word polarized.
- 1:55:24Speaker 4: I wanted to know where when word come on, man.
- 1:55:30Speaker 1: Rumor is that.
- 1:55:33Speaker 4: Man Pete Carroll might be interested in the Chicago Bears
- 1:55:39Speaker 4: gig if they go in a new direction. Pete Carroll from.
- 1:55:45Speaker 8: The Sea Hogs, you know, defensive minded. His style is
- 1:55:50Speaker 8: in Chicago, this defense, run the ball, you know.
- 1:55:56Speaker 1: House peak Carroll two seventy three, seventy three, seventy four.
- 1:56:04Speaker 8: You gotta be they jerk Joe Biden the president.
- 1:56:07Speaker 1: I was thirteen.
- 1:56:12Speaker 8: I'm just saying they joked jerk man out of his president.
- 1:56:16Speaker 1: Three.
- 1:56:16Speaker 11: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I mean, he's supposed to
- 1:56:21Speaker 11: remember football schemes. Come on, man, are we are well?
- 1:56:27Speaker 11: I'm saying, are we scraping the bottom of the proverbial
- 1:56:30Speaker 11: football barrel?
- 1:56:32Speaker 10: Now?
- 1:56:32Speaker 11: There's so much un tapped, unproven coaching talent that we just.
- 1:56:38Speaker 1: Got to go get the oldest guys.
- 1:56:40Speaker 14: We know.
- 1:56:41Speaker 4: It's about just like with Bill Belichick going back to Carolina,
- 1:56:45Speaker 4: it is more of getting the template back set. It's
- 1:56:51Speaker 4: about resetting to the brand. When he was asking about
- 1:56:54Speaker 4: Mike Tomlin, it's hard to fire coaches for Pittsburgh because
- 1:56:59Speaker 4: so many coaches do not have that unique ideology that
- 1:57:04Speaker 4: goes with the owner and the Stellers have a certain way.
- 1:57:08Speaker 4: You're not just gonna be able to come here and
- 1:57:10Speaker 4: pound the table for certain personalities.
- 1:57:14Speaker 15: Right.
- 1:57:15Speaker 4: The money is that it's not going to go to
- 1:57:17Speaker 4: certain positions. They're not big cornerback payers. You pay if
- 1:57:22Speaker 4: you play cornerback for the Stellers. You want to land
- 1:57:26Speaker 4: somewhere where your salary is going to be round eight.
- 1:57:31Speaker 1: Ten.
- 1:57:32Speaker 4: If you're ever looking to be the number one paid
- 1:57:34Speaker 4: corner You can't go to Pittsburgh like that one hundred years.
- 1:57:39Speaker 4: They have a philosophy. So as a coach Bill Cower coach,
- 1:57:45Speaker 4: no Mike Tomlin, you have to find that it's going
- 1:57:50Speaker 4: to be done a real way. And as much as
- 1:57:54Speaker 4: you think you're gonna come in here and Jedi mind
- 1:57:57Speaker 4: trick us to something else, you're going to be fooled.
- 1:58:00Speaker 4: We're not going to put up with this or that.
- 1:58:03Speaker 4: You know certain person. Now, Yeah, we're looking for the
- 1:58:07Speaker 4: hinds Ward receiver, not Durant, the Antonio Brown. When you
- 1:58:15Speaker 4: start reaching the level of that way, we're gonna Kenny
- 1:58:18Speaker 4: picket you out. That's just how they really operate. It
- 1:58:22Speaker 4: really is that way. So I think sometimes with these hires,
- 1:58:26Speaker 4: like a Pete Carroll, I'll see it because you're trying
- 1:58:28Speaker 4: to kind of the Bears was the Seahawks when Pete
- 1:58:33Speaker 4: Carroll was doing this, then that's how the Bears used
- 1:58:35Speaker 4: to get it done. Last time they went to the
- 1:58:37Speaker 4: Super Bowl, Monster it was the legion of Boom and
- 1:58:42Speaker 4: it was a running back. That's how the Bears played
- 1:58:45Speaker 4: football for a long time, no matter what quarterback, it
- 1:58:49Speaker 4: was scared of the defense, a physical runner and a
- 1:58:54Speaker 4: heads quarterback that just made the good heads up play.
- 1:58:57Speaker 1: It wasn't necessarily it.
- 1:58:59Speaker 4: Was a Russell Wills and it's still valuable for the
- 1:59:02Speaker 4: Hall of Fame, but it was a game manager, a
- 1:59:05Speaker 4: little general.
- 1:59:06Speaker 8: Yeah that from the front the game on the quarterback.
- 1:59:11Speaker 8: To win the game, it's everybody.
- 1:59:13Speaker 4: But if you do, it's going to be more of
- 1:59:15Speaker 4: their decision making. Right of that, we needed this third
- 1:59:19Speaker 4: and five. We don't need to go deep, right even
- 1:59:22Speaker 4: though deep open, deep open, I gott getting get the
- 1:59:25Speaker 4: first out. That was a play like that.
- 1:59:27Speaker 11: I think over the holiday where I saw it might
- 1:59:32Speaker 11: have been the Rams or something like that where guy
- 1:59:33Speaker 11: was open for the touchdown, but they needed a first
- 1:59:36Speaker 11: and he just went with the first down and the
- 1:59:38Speaker 11: open guy and the end zone was kind of like,
- 1:59:41Speaker 11: why did you not hit me?
- 1:59:43Speaker 31: That wasn't a guarantee and we are in the ocean.
- 1:59:50Speaker 31: The truth is he will throw your in the ocean.
- 1:59:53Speaker 31: It's time to wrap things up on the Sports Judge
- 1:59:57Speaker 31: Show with Wayne.
- 2:00:32Speaker 4: When your Sounds of the Ocean gives to watch out
- 2:00:34Speaker 4: testa minute to Vin, we'd like to thank you for
- 2:00:37Speaker 4: tuning in to today's show. Commands you, Greg, Bappy TuS
- 2:00:41Speaker 4: a big Kenny, thank you for your contributions. As we
- 2:00:44Speaker 4: said at the beginning of the show, if you missed anything,
- 2:00:50Speaker 4: you can go to Amazon, Apple, Audible, Spotify.
- 2:00:55Speaker 8: Dezer iHeartRadio and catch the replate.
- 2:00:59Speaker 4: And to keep it in Christmas spirit, we're gonna leave
- 2:01:03Speaker 4: the ocean along the day. I will tell you this though, Command,
- 2:01:07Speaker 4: because I know me and you are. Food eats three
- 2:01:10Speaker 4: point five million people in Japan or the KFC for
- 2:01:16Speaker 4: Christmas dinner. I read that they say the three Now
- 2:01:21Speaker 4: I realize why I can't get my chicken up here
- 2:01:24Speaker 4: on mine on Beauplel Highway. They gonna send it all
- 2:01:27Speaker 4: to Japan. Japan celebrates Christmas more in a secular holiday
- 2:01:32Speaker 4: where they observe it, but not in a spiritual sense,
- 2:01:37Speaker 4: and unlike us when we I mean, excuse me, similar
- 2:01:41Speaker 4: to us like we do the Turkey on Thanksgiving, they
- 2:01:46Speaker 4: do KFC on Christmas, Kentucky Fried.
- 2:01:51Speaker 8: The Colonel And you know they got enough money in Japan?
- 2:01:54Speaker 8: Have it door dashed?
- 2:01:57Speaker 1: Did they invent door that?
- 2:02:00Speaker 8: I'm sure they might bought it after it was But
- 2:02:04Speaker 8: we hope you have a great weekend.
- 2:02:05Speaker 4: Enjoy some sports all around Thursday night football, Seahawks and
- 2:02:11Speaker 4: Bears from the Sports Shock Show.
- 2:02:13Speaker 8: As we always say on Thursday, We'll see you in
- 2:02:16Speaker 8: the future.
- 2:02:18Speaker 1: Peace,
