- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Amharic with Fexingo! I'm Lucas, and with me is the always curious Luna. Luna: Hey everyone! Last episode, we learned school supplies like መጽሐፍ and እስክሪብቶ. I practiced with my notebook all week. Lucas: That's great. Today we're moving to a new part of the body—the face. Specifically, two spots: the chin and the cheek. Luna: Oh, I've been meaning to ask about those! I fell off my bike once and bruised my chin. Lucas: Oof, that sounds painful. And that's exactly why these words are useful. Luna: Yeah, it really helps us keep going. So, how do I say 'chin' in Amharic? Lucas: The word is አገጭ. Say it with me: አገጭ. Luna: አገጭ. That's a bit tricky. አገጭ. Lucas: Perfect. Now, 'cheek' is ጉንጭ. Try that: ጉንጭ. Luna: ጉንጭ. Sounds like 'goonj'—that's fun. ጉንጭ. Lucas: Exactly. Now, if your chin hurts, you say አገጬ ይታመማል. Repeat after me: አገጬ ይታመማል. Luna: አገጬ ይታመማል. That's a mouthful! But I got it. What about cheek? Lucas: ጉንጬ ይታመማል. Try it: ጉንጬ ይታመማል. Luna: ጉንጬ ይታመማል. Wow, I can already describe my injury. What if both hurt? Lucas: Then you'd say አገጬ እና ጉንጬ ይታመማሉ. But let's stick with one at a time for now. Luna: Okay. So let me imagine I fell. I'd tell a doctor: አገጬ ይታመማል. Lucas: And they'd understand you perfectly. Let's practice the words one more time. አገጭ. Luna: አገጭ. Lucas: ጉንጭ. Luna: ጉንጭ. Lucas: አገጬ ይታመማል. Luna: አገጬ ይታመማል. Lucas: ጉንጬ ይታመማል. Luna: ጉንጬ ይታመማል. I think I've got it! Now whenever I fall, I can complain in Amharic. Lucas: Let's hope you don't fall, but if you do, you'll be prepared. Great job today, Luna. Luna: Thanks, Lucas! And listeners, keep practicing አገጭ and ጉንጭ. See you next time! Lucas: Tune in next time for more tiny Amharic lessons. This is Fexingo, signing off.
