- 0:46Speaker 1: Mister. All right, gee, here we go. Listen. I want
- 1:44Speaker 1: to start by saying this morning that if I look,
- 1:49Speaker 1: do I look rough? No?
- 1:53Speaker 2: No, you look uh yeah, yeah.
- 1:57Speaker 1: You look like you've been through it. I just not
- 2:02Speaker 1: really sleeping all that great with this new freaking shoulder. Yeah.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Well, like I told you yesterday, and you just seem
- 2:10Speaker 2: to be whining all the time.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Yeah, but like I told yesterday that, you know, you put.
- 2:14Speaker 2: A foreign object, a few foreign objects into your body,
- 2:19Speaker 2: and your body is getting used to it and it's healing.
- 2:21Speaker 2: You've gotten your stitches out already, which is good. Yeah,
- 2:24Speaker 2: and you know you're starting PETE this week, but your
- 2:27Speaker 2: body's try. That's why they didn't start you on PETE
- 2:29Speaker 2: last week or whatever, because you needed time and unfortunately
- 2:33Speaker 2: with surgery you kind of.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Lose sleep at night. Yeah. Glenn has just put this
- 2:40Speaker 1: so beautifully this morning. He says, you look like you
- 2:43Speaker 1: have gone through someone's colon. Whoa, Glenn, thank you? Yeah,
- 2:48Speaker 1: that's no, no, no, he's accurate. Yeah.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Well, now if you went through somebody's colling, you'd be brown. Well,
- 2:58Speaker 2: just throwing that out there for shits and giggles.
- 3:03Speaker 1: God, God, it's gonna be one of those days. I
- 3:05Speaker 1: just man, it's like, you know, I said, I said
- 3:10Speaker 1: to Sherilyn this morning, I'm like, do I need to
- 3:13Speaker 1: drug myself to be able to sleep? Now? No, it's
- 3:17Speaker 1: part of the process.
- 3:19Speaker 2: I had neck plates put in because I had discs
- 3:23Speaker 2: that were what do they call disintegrade, and so they
- 3:28Speaker 2: put in two disks in my vertebrae and they also
- 3:33Speaker 2: put a plate with screws and stuff like that. They
- 3:36Speaker 2: went in through the front. So I was all bandaged
- 3:40Speaker 2: here and I wasn't allowed to move back here very
- 3:43Speaker 2: much because it had to heal, and I was sleeping
- 3:45Speaker 2: on a recliner and there was very little sleep for
- 3:48Speaker 2: a while. It's an unfortunate thing, but it's but look
- 3:52Speaker 2: at what it's going to be like in three months
- 3:55Speaker 2: or in six months. You're going to feel like, why
- 3:57Speaker 2: didn't I do this sooner? And let's do it on
- 3:59Speaker 2: the other the shoulder. Hang in there, buddy.
- 4:03Speaker 1: No, it's just like you know, to.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Okay, I gave you enough pity party, I know now.
- 4:08Speaker 2: You just look now you want everybody on the online
- 4:11Speaker 2: to go, oh j D hanging.
- 4:14Speaker 1: I don't want you on your poor baby. I'm just
- 4:17Speaker 1: saying it's like two o'clock in the morning is when
- 4:20Speaker 1: I start waking up, and I'm like, yeah, so find
- 4:22Speaker 1: something to do.
- 4:23Speaker 2: That's a really good time to read, that's a good
- 4:26Speaker 2: time to relax. Do some yoga in your mind where
- 4:29Speaker 2: you just relax yourself.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Yoga in my mind.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Yeah, just well, you can't do it physically, but you
- 4:35Speaker 2: can do it in your mind. You know, you can
- 4:37Speaker 2: get lost in your own mind in meditation and yoga,
- 4:40Speaker 2: and sometimes that helps you go back to sleep.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Let's do the forecast. Let's do that snow this morning, oh,
- 4:49Speaker 1: spring today, right, today is the first day of spring.
- 4:52Speaker 2: So today we're gonna get snow. Yeah, for spring. Sunday
- 4:57Speaker 2: we're gonna get snow. Yep, for the third day of spring.
- 5:01Speaker 2: And they need a Monday Tuesday for the fourth or
- 5:03Speaker 2: fifth day of spring, we're gonna get snow. So you're right, yeah,
- 5:11Speaker 2: hey dad, let's see.
- 5:15Speaker 1: I'm seeing here mixing with rain at times this afternoon,
- 5:20Speaker 1: the snow and thirty nine degrees. Yeah, that sounds delightful.
- 5:26Speaker 1: That sounds delightful. Do you want to know tonight? Mm hmm, okay, no,
- 5:31Speaker 1: thank you, light rain, and yet he tells me cloudy
- 5:34Speaker 1: skies shocker, snowshowers possible, yep. Twenty eight nice, come up
- 5:40Speaker 1: tomorrow Saturday, No, thank you? Cloudy uh huh, flurries huh.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Thirty seven beautiful on Sunday, sure, snow likely yeah, thirty
- 5:52Speaker 1: three for the high. Did everybody hear that? No they didn't.
- 6:03Speaker 2: He just turned around and as he's going through it,
- 6:06Speaker 2: he goes to the next day on his screen to
- 6:08Speaker 2: see what's next, and he goes.
- 6:11Speaker 1: It's like, what the app dude, Monday, Yeah, cloudy skies, yep,
- 6:17Speaker 1: snow showers yeah, thirty two yeah, yep. Here's the thing though,
- 6:24Speaker 1: about the there is a thing, okay about the first
- 6:29Speaker 1: day of spring. There is some some real reasons why
- 6:35Speaker 1: we should say this is good for my mental health
- 6:38Speaker 1: that it's the first day of spring, even though we've
- 6:41Speaker 1: got what seven consecutive days of snow in front of us.
- 6:44Speaker 1: There's better light, okay, we have longer days, better light
- 6:50Speaker 1: which can improve your your your mood. There's more fresh,
- 6:57Speaker 1: healthy food options. I'm I'm scrapping here.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Bud, dude, you are scrape in the bottom of the
- 7:05Speaker 2: bowrel and getting.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Nothing spring spring produce.
- 7:09Speaker 2: No, you know, It's like people also say, you know,
- 7:13Speaker 2: April shower.
- 7:14Speaker 1: What is it? April showers, bring mayflowers?
- 7:17Speaker 2: Yeah, but in Vermont it's May showers, bring June flowers because.
- 7:24Speaker 1: We don't get it late May. Yeah, we don't get right.
- 7:28Speaker 2: That normal weather and people, I know, Glenn and Stacey,
- 7:33Speaker 2: you're gonna say, well, what's normal?
- 7:35Speaker 1: Okay?
- 7:36Speaker 2: Normal is usually aprile showers, bring mayflowers. Yeah, and we're
- 7:40Speaker 2: not getting that. We're getting cold. And wait, dare I
- 7:45Speaker 2: say gray?
- 7:48Speaker 1: Did you just say gray? Yeah? You know.
- 7:51Speaker 2: My husband says to me, I don't want to move
- 7:53Speaker 2: back to Vegas because it's all brown.
- 7:55Speaker 1: The ground is all brown.
- 7:56Speaker 2: There's not a lot of greenery, which there is, but
- 7:59Speaker 2: there's not all of greenery. Everybody's house has the desert
- 8:02Speaker 2: scenes in the front, so it's all brown. But in
- 8:05Speaker 2: Vermont it's all gray.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Yeah, you know.
- 8:09Speaker 2: Can we not get a bright color somewhere in this world?
- 8:15Speaker 1: Here's some positives. Glennis sings, April was trout season. That's
- 8:20Speaker 1: a positive right there? Wow, Wow, that's trout season. Yeah,
- 8:25Speaker 1: there you go. Come on, I know, I know, and
- 8:31Speaker 1: I'm not Jed would be thrilled. What about gardening?
- 8:35Speaker 2: I love to garden. You know that can't do it
- 8:38Speaker 2: till maybe, and I have to wait until pretty much
- 8:41Speaker 2: the end of May. What I usually do is because
- 8:44Speaker 2: I have bulbs I put in the ground, and when
- 8:45Speaker 2: the bulbs start to come up, that's when I know
- 8:48Speaker 2: it's time to start gardening and stuff. All right, So
- 8:50Speaker 2: this year I put gosh, like maybe sixty five bulbs.
- 8:54Speaker 1: In the fall.
- 8:55Speaker 2: In the fall, I put them in all different places. Okay,
- 8:59Speaker 2: so beautiful, different colored flowers, things light, sixty five different.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Bulbs and amfella.
- 9:06Speaker 2: So when I start to see them come up, and
- 9:09Speaker 2: I start to see like the leaves on the trees
- 9:12Speaker 2: starting to come out bud right, But that's always a
- 9:16Speaker 2: false too, because we've had it where the tree started
- 9:19Speaker 2: budding and then we got a cold snap and it
- 9:22Speaker 2: hurt the trees because they're trying to wake up and
- 9:25Speaker 2: then they got cold. So in Vermont, it's kind of
- 9:29Speaker 2: like just sit and wait, yeah, you know, wait for
- 9:31Speaker 2: it to happen, and then when summer gets here, yeah,
- 9:35Speaker 2: hurry up because it's almost over.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Yeah. Right, here's another positive, and this is a big one,
- 9:41Speaker 1: and this you're gonna get very excited about. This May,
- 9:45Speaker 1: which is coming up real soon, right, is Turkey season.
- 9:48Speaker 1: There you go.
- 9:50Speaker 2: And I have a flock of turkeys that walk in
- 9:52Speaker 2: my yard, so I'll just sit outside with a freaking
- 9:55Speaker 2: gun and pop one out.
- 9:56Speaker 1: This morning, I was driving down East Copple Hill and
- 10:01Speaker 1: there was a guy in his front yard. He had
- 10:03Speaker 1: probably at least a half a dozen turkeys, right, one
- 10:06Speaker 1: of them, the alpha male, all fluffed up, all fanned up.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Get the big ass fan coming off his ass. Ye,
- 10:16Speaker 1: get the big all the colors, the red ship hanging
- 10:19Speaker 1: off his neck and everything. It's red shit, okay, and
- 10:26Speaker 1: looks like a big old ball sack hanging off his
- 10:29Speaker 1: He is horned up. Good. Yeah. Ready, Well he's the
- 10:32Speaker 1: one you want to shoot, and that affects propagation. Man,
- 10:39Speaker 1: Come on, poor guy, he's he's looking for the lady.
- 10:44Speaker 1: He's like trying to show off. He's looking for a
- 10:48Speaker 1: few ladies. He's looking for a few ladies.
- 10:51Speaker 2: You know, get busy when he's busy.
- 10:54Speaker 1: But any next, But here's here's another thing about spring
- 10:59Speaker 1: and everything. The sun is higher up in the sky.
- 11:03Speaker 1: The south facing slopes melt first. Okay, that's when the
- 11:07Speaker 1: ticks start coming out. Absolutely, it's wait not to be negative,
- 11:12Speaker 1: but it also is an opportunity for us to get
- 11:14Speaker 1: outside more and do some walking. Yes, okay, we don't
- 11:17Speaker 1: have to worry so much about walking in I love
- 11:21Speaker 1: crusty snow for a walk in beautiful weather. It's cold, though,
- 11:25Speaker 1: but at least this morning the sun is shining. Is
- 11:29Speaker 1: it it was? Well, that was then a couple hours
- 11:33Speaker 1: ago it was look at it now look at it.
- 11:35Speaker 1: It's gray. Yeah. I know, but listen, man, it's like
- 11:41Speaker 1: you got you gotta be excited about the spring and
- 11:45Speaker 1: in mental health. Yesterday I bought some seeds for hot peppers,
- 11:52Speaker 1: and I'm gonna get all my little Dixie cups lined
- 11:54Speaker 1: up this weekend. Put the soil in there and put
- 11:56Speaker 1: the seeds in there. And you have to do something,
- 12:02Speaker 1: oh absolutely, to say, hey, I'm excited about Do you
- 12:07Speaker 1: know what the I want to ask you, huh, what
- 12:10Speaker 1: is the most exciting thing that you're looking forward to
- 12:14Speaker 1: with spring?
- 12:15Speaker 2: Setting up my garden, putting out all my garden gnomes,
- 12:19Speaker 2: and putting out all my garden things because I have
- 12:23Speaker 2: things that go in different islands on my property, because
- 12:25Speaker 2: I have an island in the front of my property
- 12:27Speaker 2: and I have things I put there, and then I
- 12:29Speaker 2: put the lights out that go solar lights. I put
- 12:34Speaker 2: them all out and stuff like that. So I'm looking
- 12:37Speaker 2: forward to setting up my house for spring summer.
- 12:41Speaker 1: All right? Is the Christmas wreath still on the side
- 12:45Speaker 1: of the house.
- 12:45Speaker 2: It is, but I found something to eat It is
- 12:48Speaker 2: because I just haven't gotten to it. But I did
- 12:51Speaker 2: find something to replace it. I'm going to go up
- 12:53Speaker 2: and pick it up. Okay, it's the tree of life
- 12:56Speaker 2: in around, so I'll take the reef down. I'll put
- 13:00Speaker 2: that up there all right for the spring, summer and fall,
- 13:03Speaker 2: and then I'll put the reef back up before winter.
- 13:05Speaker 2: All right, So out of curiosity, what are you excited
- 13:12Speaker 2: about for the spring summer thing?
- 13:15Speaker 1: There's so many things I'm excited about. Listen, I'm not
- 13:21Speaker 1: trying to be negative this morning, but I'm what I'm
- 13:26Speaker 1: not excited about is that the orthopedic surgeon just told
- 13:31Speaker 1: me no dirt bike for four months. Yeah. Yeah, that's rough.
- 13:35Speaker 1: That's rough, buddy. This is when I start riding right now.
- 13:39Speaker 1: Yeah with Lily. Yeah, Jed's gonna Jed's gonna take your
- 13:42Speaker 1: seat for a.
- 13:43Speaker 2: Little while, would he please, Because Lily needs somebody to
- 13:46Speaker 2: go with, not only for I have fun, but for
- 13:49Speaker 2: safety reasons. It's always important to have somebody. She's eleven
- 13:52Speaker 2: years old, she's very capable, very capable of riding her
- 13:56Speaker 2: dirt bike. But it's nice to have someone yeah that
- 13:59Speaker 2: can if God forbid, something happened. So Jed's gonna take
- 14:03Speaker 2: that on. I said to these and I'm going to
- 14:05Speaker 2: take Sherylyn's bike and go for a ride.
- 14:07Speaker 1: And since she never used, please do, I said to
- 14:10Speaker 1: the I said to the surgeon, I'm like, what if
- 14:14Speaker 1: you know here, you know me haha, you know, goofy goof.
- 14:18Speaker 1: And I'm like, oh, well, what if I just you know,
- 14:21Speaker 1: all right, four months? But what if I just don't
- 14:24Speaker 1: if I promise you that I'm not going to crash? Right,
- 14:28Speaker 1: he did not. He did not think that was funny.
- 14:30Speaker 2: You know, surgeons don't find things like that funny.
- 14:34Speaker 1: You know. When I went for my next surgery, I
- 14:37Speaker 1: don't know if I.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Had ever told you this. When I went for my
- 14:39Speaker 2: surgery for a peer. When I came out of surgery,
- 14:46Speaker 2: I was pretty much paralyzed, right. I was like, oh
- 14:49Speaker 2: my god, I got very nervous. And my doctor was
- 14:52Speaker 2: there with Jed and he's testing my feet and nothing.
- 14:56Speaker 2: I felt nothing, and so he got very nervous, and
- 15:00Speaker 2: I had to go back into surgery and he had
- 15:02Speaker 2: to open me up again, and he found that there
- 15:05Speaker 2: was a clot that from the surgery that had built
- 15:09Speaker 2: up and he had to drain it and retie it
- 15:11Speaker 2: and all this stuff. When I got out the second time,
- 15:15Speaker 2: I was fine, you know, when I came out of it,
- 15:17Speaker 2: all everything worked. I went to see him post I imagine.
- 15:23Speaker 2: I went to see him after surgery for my stitches
- 15:26Speaker 2: to come out and all that stuff, and I said
- 15:29Speaker 2: to him, when you take the stitches out, be careful
- 15:32Speaker 2: because maybe I'll go paralyzed again.
- 15:34Speaker 1: Didn't think that was funny.
- 15:35Speaker 2: He didn't find any humor in that, and I did.
- 15:38Speaker 2: I thought it was hys stoke. And his nurses were
- 15:41Speaker 2: there and they were laughing, and he was like, well,
- 15:43Speaker 2: that was an unfit. It never happened to me before.
- 15:45Speaker 2: And I was a little concerned, and I'm like, dude,
- 15:47Speaker 2: I'm joking.
- 15:48Speaker 1: No, that was a scary time for me.
- 15:50Speaker 2: And I was like, for you, how do you think
- 15:53Speaker 2: I felt when I woke up and I couldn't move?
- 15:56Speaker 1: He you know, right, exactly exactly.
- 15:59Speaker 2: But they have no especially if something goes wrong or
- 16:03Speaker 2: this complication.
- 16:05Speaker 1: Boy, if you joke about it later, are you know?
- 16:08Speaker 2: Because I even said to him, I was like, is
- 16:09Speaker 2: it that you needed more practice before you worked on me?
- 16:12Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 16:12Speaker 2: I was joking, right, And he's like, no, no, I've
- 16:15Speaker 2: done many. I'm like, dude, I'm joking.
- 16:18Speaker 1: I know. Well, I said to him, I'm like, hey,
- 16:20Speaker 1: you got to do the other shoulder anyways, so if
- 16:23Speaker 1: I crash, I'll make sure that I crashed on the
- 16:26Speaker 1: right shoulder. Yeah, so you can fix that. So that
- 16:28Speaker 1: you can fix that. You gotta fix it anyways, right, No,
- 16:31Speaker 1: no humor, No, no, didn't think that was funny. And
- 16:35Speaker 1: the look he gave me, oh yeah, I felt like
- 16:38Speaker 1: he was my dad. Yeah, he looked he glared at me,
- 16:42Speaker 1: and he was he just looked at me, stared at me,
- 16:44Speaker 1: and he was like, don't ride your motorcycle. Yeah, And
- 16:49Speaker 1: I was like hah okay yeah, and he's like do
- 16:53Speaker 1: you understand And I was like whoa.
- 16:57Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like, have you no sense of humor?
- 17:00Speaker 1: Damn? You know.
- 17:01Speaker 2: When I went to see him the second time, I
- 17:03Speaker 2: walked in and I said to him, still walking as
- 17:06Speaker 2: a joke, yeah, and he looked at me smart a
- 17:08Speaker 2: little bit.
- 17:08Speaker 1: He goes, yeah, well, you know, you gave me a
- 17:11Speaker 1: scare that time, right, Okay, Oh, I know it, man,
- 17:15Speaker 1: you fixed it. Move on, geez. You know. And there's
- 17:18Speaker 1: always that.
- 17:19Speaker 2: That concern when you're working on the on the vertebrae
- 17:22Speaker 2: and the spine and all that stuff. That's nothing could happen.
- 17:25Speaker 2: And of course if something's going to happen, it always
- 17:27Speaker 2: happens to me. Yeah, always or me yeah. We trade
- 17:31Speaker 2: back and forth on that. I agree, I hear you, man.
- 17:35Speaker 2: You know, listen, there's a lot of things I'm looking
- 17:38Speaker 2: forward to with with spring.
- 17:40Speaker 1: Right. One of the things is just sitting sitting in
- 17:44Speaker 1: a chair in my barn and just sitting there and
- 17:48Speaker 1: looking at my dirt bike and and talking to it
- 17:55Speaker 1: and telling it how much I love it and miss it.
- 17:58Speaker 1: I'm looking forward to that. That's going to be fun.
- 18:02Speaker 1: I'm looking forward to getting some tuna steaks on the
- 18:07Speaker 1: on the grill, on the grill on the griddle out
- 18:10Speaker 1: on the patio. I'm looking forward to some margaritas when
- 18:14Speaker 1: the snow melts in the end of June.
- 18:20Speaker 2: You're throwing that out there real quick.
- 18:22Speaker 1: I'm looking I'm looking forward to getting the patio furniture
- 18:26Speaker 1: out and the umbrella and you know, yeah, we get
- 18:31Speaker 1: the gardening boxes that are already for fresh soil, and
- 18:36Speaker 1: I'm going to get the starters going. I'm looking forward
- 18:39Speaker 1: to the fact that Chrilyn's going to be pissed that
- 18:42Speaker 1: I have thirty seven red hot peppers growing.
- 18:48Speaker 3: Yep, why do we need so many hot peppers because
- 18:52Speaker 3: because I'm going that's it, because I'm going to be
- 18:56Speaker 3: giving half of them, if not more, to Jed.
- 18:59Speaker 1: Yeah, and he, oh, I know he will, I know
- 19:02Speaker 1: he will.
- 19:04Speaker 2: I end up putting pickling them with oil.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Yes, I know you. I know you.
- 19:09Speaker 2: I won't do it with pickles, but you infuse it.
- 19:13Speaker 2: I will, yeah, yeah, but I'll put like a whole
- 19:16Speaker 2: bunch in a jaw and fill it with the oil
- 19:19Speaker 2: and everything that the flavors that I want, because then
- 19:22Speaker 2: when you take them out, they're nice and hot right oily,
- 19:25Speaker 2: so you can cut them up and put him in
- 19:27Speaker 2: things and you can use the oil for cooking.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Glenn's asking about the triumph Listen, man, I have literally
- 19:40Speaker 1: I know that some people are going to listen right
- 19:45Speaker 1: now and be like, oh, he's full of ship and
- 19:47Speaker 1: come on, drama queen, I have shd a tear. Yeah
- 19:52Speaker 1: about my Triumph. Yep. I love that freaking motorcycle I've.
- 19:57Speaker 2: Never ridden, and I need to take it for a spin.
- 19:59Speaker 1: You need to take for a spin soon. Yeah, I'm
- 20:02Speaker 1: dead serious. Yep. I love that bike so much. I
- 20:06Speaker 1: bought it brand new in twenty seventeen. It was coming
- 20:09Speaker 1: right off the boat in Boston from England. I love
- 20:14Speaker 1: that bike, yeah so much.
- 20:16Speaker 2: You're selling it, I know, but I have to because
- 20:20Speaker 2: you know, it's just gonna sit there and then it's
- 20:22Speaker 2: gonna set all summer and then I gotta and then
- 20:24Speaker 2: I'm getting the other shoulder.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Time, right, Yeah, that's a waste. Yeah, and then even
- 20:28Speaker 1: next summer summer twenty seven has got a huge question
- 20:33Speaker 1: mark on it.
- 20:34Speaker 2: Right, Perhaps I don't know, Ja and I will take
- 20:37Speaker 2: the Triumph and the Indian for oh sorry, the Indigenous
- 20:42Speaker 2: bike out for a spin.
- 20:44Speaker 1: You absolutely should.
- 20:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I would love to buy Shovels bike. It's gorgeous
- 20:51Speaker 2: and it's an Indian and I know you love Indigenous.
- 20:54Speaker 1: I love that. Yeah. So I'm trying to be appropriate.
- 20:57Speaker 1: I know you are. You're doing a good job, you know.
- 20:59Speaker 2: I saw somebody down the street one time and I said,
- 21:02Speaker 2: oh my god, you got an indigenous bike and they
- 21:04Speaker 2: were like, no, this is an Indian bike. I says,
- 21:07Speaker 2: thus the indigenous because we don't want to offend. I
- 21:11Speaker 2: guess I guess you had to correct you, and Cholyn
- 21:14Speaker 2: had to correct me about saying Oriental. Yes, I guess
- 21:18Speaker 2: that's a thing. Yes, you can't say okay, and you
- 21:20Speaker 2: can't say Chinese. Oh, you can't say Italian, and you
- 21:24Speaker 2: can't say Spanish anymore. You got to give them all
- 21:27Speaker 2: these special names.
- 21:28Speaker 1: Apparently wop is not appropriate, Guinea is not appropriate.
- 21:33Speaker 2: And meanwhile, I'm Italian and I always say to somebody,
- 21:36Speaker 2: pardon me, I'm just a dumb guinea.
- 21:38Speaker 1: What do I know? I want to tell you what if.
- 21:40Speaker 2: Somebody calls me a guinea, I'm not going to be like, like,
- 21:43Speaker 2: if you use the N word, everybody goes well, if
- 21:45Speaker 2: somebody calls me a guinea or a wop, I don't
- 21:48Speaker 2: freak out. I'm just like whatever, if that's what you
- 21:51Speaker 2: want to use, use it.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Who cares? Right, And if you have some real problems,
- 21:54Speaker 1: all you need to do is see Jed, pick up
- 21:57Speaker 1: the phone and call your your cousin in new Yeah,
- 22:00Speaker 1: problem taking care of Long Island. Long Island. I want
- 22:04Speaker 1: to tell you what probably one of the greatest things
- 22:07Speaker 1: that I'm excited about this spring. Okay, this is something
- 22:12Speaker 1: that literally will wake me up in the middle of
- 22:15Speaker 1: the night along with my shoulder paint because I'm so excited.
- 22:18Speaker 2: About He noticed that he got that poor me in there.
- 22:23Speaker 2: I am so much lucky. I send up Poor JD
- 22:26Speaker 2: on the message just right, poor JD. Oh they will
- 22:30Speaker 2: everybody just write that so we can see how many
- 22:32Speaker 2: people will light that. God, you're excited about going.
- 22:37Speaker 1: I am so excited about the fact that the litter
- 22:43Speaker 1: box in my house is soon going to be moved
- 22:50Speaker 1: out to the barn. That's exciting, isn't it. You have
- 22:54Speaker 1: no idea how excited I'm I might get emotional right
- 22:58Speaker 1: right now about this. Here's what happened. Do tell Santa Claus. Oh, look,
- 23:04Speaker 1: somebody said, poor JD. Glenn Good Santa Claus, that bastard
- 23:09Speaker 1: brought a little kitty for Lily. Yeah, on Christmas Eve.
- 23:14Speaker 1: I know.
- 23:15Speaker 2: And every time I go over to you, people keep saying, here,
- 23:18Speaker 2: look petim and I'm like.
- 23:23Speaker 1: This little kitty, momo, cutest little kitty momo. But here's
- 23:28Speaker 1: the thing you get. You get a kitten on Christmas Eve.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Thank you, Santa. By the way, we'll.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Talk we're next next fall. When you pop out to
- 23:39Speaker 2: the mall, you're getting beat up.
- 23:41Speaker 1: You might have you might have two broken legs. Yeah,
- 23:45Speaker 1: when I see you, Santa next time. So Santa shows
- 23:49Speaker 1: up with this kitten on Christmas Eve, what are we
- 23:53Speaker 1: supposed to do. It's it's winter. Sherilyn's like, well, we've
- 23:58Speaker 1: got to have a little box in the house now.
- 24:03Speaker 1: So I am super anti litter box, right, I have
- 24:09Speaker 1: a this part of my religious beliefs okay, that an animal,
- 24:16Speaker 1: a domestic animal, should not be shitting in your house,
- 24:22Speaker 1: right period. I agree, no exceptions, I agree. I don't
- 24:26Speaker 1: care if it's I don't care. If they're trained for
- 24:29Speaker 1: the toilet, I don't care if they're trained for the
- 24:33Speaker 1: litter box. I don't care, right, Okay. I told Sherlyn
- 24:40Speaker 1: twenty three years ago, Hi, nice to meet you. No cats,
- 24:45Speaker 1: No well, no cats, but no animals that shop inside
- 24:50Speaker 1: the house, right, so it was high nice to meet you.
- 24:53Speaker 1: No cats are animals that shit in the house. My
- 24:55Speaker 1: name is jd Yes got that. If we were to
- 24:58Speaker 1: have a relationship, right. I just want to put this
- 25:00Speaker 1: out there right now, right, okay. And it's been that way, yeah,
- 25:04Speaker 1: and it's been great. But now we have this kitty
- 25:08Speaker 1: who's been shitting in the house since December. Well, that's
- 25:12Speaker 1: your fault. You didn't man up.
- 25:15Speaker 2: You didn't man up because no, no, I got you
- 25:22Speaker 2: didn't man up because you got a few cats.
- 25:25Speaker 1: You don't have one that's Santa Boy throughout that house. No,
- 25:29Speaker 1: the other two are indoor outdoor. They always go outside.
- 25:33Speaker 2: Right, and they bring the fleas and the ticks in.
- 25:35Speaker 1: That's a different thing. Okay, I'm talking about shitting right.
- 25:38Speaker 1: The other two cats.
- 25:41Speaker 2: Outside, Yes, and this one will eventually, you know that
- 25:44Speaker 2: you're gonna teach it this.
- 25:46Speaker 1: That's what I'm excited about, right.
- 25:48Speaker 2: And then after that it can go out and ship
- 25:50Speaker 2: like everybody else.
- 25:51Speaker 1: When can this litter box get out of my house? Right?
- 25:55Speaker 1: When can I open up all of the windows in
- 25:59Speaker 1: this house smite and get all of that litter box air?
- 26:03Speaker 1: Yep out? I know I feel the same way. Oh,
- 26:07Speaker 1: I want to do cleaning. I know.
- 26:12Speaker 2: I have this really sensitive nose that picks up every
- 26:17Speaker 2: scent of everything. Yeah, okay, I can't stand perfume. That's
- 26:21Speaker 2: cheap that sheep perfume stuff. When somebody walks by, I'm like,
- 26:25Speaker 2: oh god, that's disgusting, right, I have a very sensitive nose.
- 26:30Speaker 2: To get to have the cat that we have to have,
- 26:35Speaker 2: the cat that we have, we had to get because
- 26:38Speaker 2: Jed loves his cat. We had to get the robot.
- 26:42Speaker 2: And when the cat poops, it turns, it dumps it
- 26:45Speaker 2: all down and deneath and comes back up for him
- 26:48Speaker 2: to be able to go again later because it gets
- 26:52Speaker 2: the smell out of the litter box and down below
- 26:54Speaker 2: into a closed in area that doesn't.
- 26:56Speaker 1: Have a smell.
- 26:57Speaker 2: And you have to change the bag once week, okay,
- 27:01Speaker 2: once a week.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Once a week you change the bag.
- 27:05Speaker 2: And I was like, if we don't have a robot,
- 27:07Speaker 2: we don't have a cat because I'm not going to
- 27:10Speaker 2: go in there and scoop that thing every damn day. No,
- 27:12Speaker 2: And that smells. Sometimes they lay some serious bombs bombs, yeah,
- 27:18Speaker 2: and it smells the whole area out. Oh yeah, and
- 27:20Speaker 2: it's yeah, it's not. I mean, my dog doesn't poop
- 27:23Speaker 2: in the house, why should a cat? And my cat
- 27:27Speaker 2: wants to go out, Jed won't let it. My cat
- 27:29Speaker 2: when I.
- 27:30Speaker 1: Open the door to let the dog out.
- 27:32Speaker 2: Yeah, the cat's like trying to get out, and he
- 27:35Speaker 2: wants to go out on the deck and check things
- 27:37Speaker 2: out and bah bah bah.
- 27:39Speaker 1: But us an indoor cat, well.
- 27:41Speaker 2: You know, maybe he needs to go outside and right
- 27:44Speaker 2: and fenn for himself.
- 27:46Speaker 1: I should be humans should be pooping in the house.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Yes, yes, And in the old days they were pooping
- 27:52Speaker 2: in an out house away from the house, thank you. Okay,
- 27:56Speaker 2: it's only recently with modern technology and stuff. Have you
- 27:59Speaker 2: seen some of those new technology toilets.
- 28:02Speaker 1: No, but I've always wanted a bedet. Oh my god.
- 28:05Speaker 2: They have one that it opens up on its own.
- 28:08Speaker 2: When you enter the toward the toilet, it heats up
- 28:12Speaker 2: the seat so the seat is warm.
- 28:15Speaker 1: It has a built in bedet. I don't care if
- 28:17Speaker 1: the seat's warm. Tell me the water's warm. I don't know. Oh,
- 28:20Speaker 1: come on, don't I know? No, it has to be
- 28:24Speaker 1: warm water. I don't know.
- 28:26Speaker 2: All I know is it has a built in bedet,
- 28:28Speaker 2: the seat's warm. It lights up on the base so
- 28:32Speaker 2: that you go there in the nighttime, in the dark,
- 28:34Speaker 2: and you see where the toilet is.
- 28:36Speaker 1: That's nice.
- 28:37Speaker 2: It closes itself cleans, I mean the whole thing. And
- 28:41Speaker 2: I'm like, yes, I want one of those. They're not expensive.
- 28:44Speaker 1: Well here's the thing, and you know this, and I
- 28:47Speaker 1: don't want to get too personal, but you already know
- 28:50Speaker 1: that my right shoulder needs to be replaced. Go on, now, listen.
- 28:57Speaker 1: The mobility of the right shoulder can't get back far
- 29:02Speaker 1: enough right to wipe the left shoulder because it's like impinches. Yep.
- 29:08Speaker 1: The left shoulder, which is the one that just had surgery, yep,
- 29:11Speaker 1: that one, which is worse than the right shoulder, that one,
- 29:17Speaker 1: I can't. I have the mobility to get back there
- 29:20Speaker 1: to wipe right, but now because of the surgery, Yeah,
- 29:25Speaker 1: I can't. So you need a bidday. I need a beday,
- 29:28Speaker 1: Yeah yesterday. Yeah.
- 29:31Speaker 2: Well I saw a lot of them and that they're
- 29:34Speaker 2: not really that expensive. There were like two hundred and
- 29:36Speaker 2: fifty three hundred bucks.
- 29:37Speaker 1: Of course, the water has to be warm, Glenn, all right,
- 29:39Speaker 1: two or three hundred bucks.
- 29:40Speaker 2: Yeah, that's it, all right, But you spent let's say
- 29:43Speaker 2: three point fifty. Okay, you put that toilet in warm
- 29:47Speaker 2: seats automatic lids because I hate people who do not
- 29:51Speaker 2: put the lid down. It gets me insane.
- 29:54Speaker 1: Okay.
- 29:54Speaker 2: Every time I have three bathrooms in my house, and
- 29:57Speaker 2: every single time I walk past one of them, I
- 29:59Speaker 2: have to put damn lid down. No, okay, the second lid,
- 30:03Speaker 2: you know, the shitter lid. Yeah, because they leave it
- 30:07Speaker 2: up and this and that, and I'm like, what THEP
- 30:10Speaker 2: So this one it closes automatically, It opens automatically, it's
- 30:13Speaker 2: heated to whatever temperature you want to set it to.
- 30:16Speaker 2: It's got a biday in there to clean you up
- 30:19Speaker 2: after it. I'm like, And it's got the light flush
- 30:22Speaker 2: and heavy flush mode on top, so that if you're
- 30:27Speaker 2: just peeing, you don't need all that water to flush
- 30:29Speaker 2: it down.
- 30:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:30Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, So that's what I want.
- 30:33Speaker 1: I want to say before before I forget. And you know,
- 30:39Speaker 1: I know that Cheryln's not listening this morning, but if
- 30:42Speaker 1: she were listening, right, she would say, don't forget to
- 30:46Speaker 1: tell people that I've been wiping you, yeah, with the
- 30:49Speaker 1: baby wipes. Yeah, and the visual on that just I
- 30:53Speaker 1: can't unsee that. But that's love. No, I can't un
- 30:56Speaker 1: see that. Now, I didn't need Let's say good morning
- 30:58Speaker 1: to Shirley and Tammy. Good morning everybody. Look at there
- 31:04Speaker 1: they are?
- 31:04Speaker 2: Yeah, good morning, everybody.
- 31:08Speaker 1: Did I tell you about the new contest I have
- 31:10Speaker 1: coming up? Please do? Yes, you did, Yeah, but you've
- 31:15Speaker 1: only told me just a little bit of it.
- 31:17Speaker 2: Right, Well, we're in the month of maunch.
- 31:20Speaker 1: Now, stop fooling around. Are you being serious? Right now?
- 31:22Speaker 1: That's serious.
- 31:23Speaker 2: Okay, we're in the month of maunch. You can tell
- 31:26Speaker 2: by the beautiful sunshine and the warm flowers coming up
- 31:28Speaker 2: and stuff like that.
- 31:29Speaker 1: The warm weather.
- 31:32Speaker 2: But in the month of April, in the month of April,
- 31:37Speaker 2: for the entire month, whenever I'm on if anybody watched
- 31:42Speaker 2: last week, they'll remember that I was drinking my drink
- 31:46Speaker 2: and going mah.
- 31:48Speaker 1: Remember that I do.
- 31:49Speaker 2: As a matter of fact, we do that when we
- 31:50Speaker 2: go to the stores, now, right, You and I be
- 31:53Speaker 2: out and I'm like, mah, out of nowhere.
- 31:54Speaker 1: And I tell you, geez, stop it right, stop it now.
- 31:59Speaker 2: So for the next month, from the first to the
- 32:03Speaker 2: what thirty first or the thirtieth of next month, whatever,
- 32:05Speaker 2: the whole month of April, right, every time I'm on
- 32:09Speaker 2: this show, I'm gonna make that noise.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Man.
- 32:14Speaker 2: I may make it once in the show, zero in
- 32:17Speaker 2: the show, twelve times in the show. Okay, I'll incorporate
- 32:21Speaker 2: into you know, I'll say something up and then take
- 32:24Speaker 2: a drink or something. Everybody who listens during the day,
- 32:30Speaker 2: even at nighttime. Those people that put it on at
- 32:32Speaker 2: night have to count how many for the entire month?
- 32:38Speaker 1: How many mah did I do?
- 32:42Speaker 2: You and I are going to know the number because
- 32:45Speaker 2: we have We're gonna have the number, so we'll know
- 32:49Speaker 2: at the end of the month. Everybody will get one
- 32:53Speaker 2: week to put in their number of what they think
- 32:56Speaker 2: I did. Those people that are right are going to
- 33:00Speaker 2: go into a drawing, and that drawing is going to
- 33:04Speaker 2: afford them a gift card to either Dunkin Donuts or
- 33:08Speaker 2: Starbucks' shooes and there's two, so they'll get one. So
- 33:13Speaker 2: the first person that's right and then the second runner up,
- 33:16Speaker 2: we'll get one. Wow, and the first person chooses, oh,
- 33:19Speaker 2: I want Starbucks Okay, then the second runner up automatically
- 33:22Speaker 2: gets Dunkin Donuts or vice versa.
- 33:24Speaker 1: Dude, this is fantastic. I think that's gonna be fun.
- 33:28Speaker 2: So all they have to do is when they're listening
- 33:30Speaker 2: to the show, just pay attention and when you hear
- 33:33Speaker 2: that noise, and that's not starting until next month, So
- 33:36Speaker 2: if you hear me, Mack. I'm just going to give
- 33:38Speaker 2: that to you every now and then.
- 33:39Speaker 1: Just so you can.
- 33:40Speaker 2: You're practicing, yeah, practicing. So that's what's going to happen
- 33:44Speaker 2: next month. Every time I'm on the show, it could
- 33:47Speaker 2: be you're doing a live thing and I'm with you
- 33:49Speaker 2: and you interrupt me with that yeah, and you're and
- 33:52Speaker 2: we're out somewhere you're like, gee, I gotta go live
- 33:54Speaker 2: because of this, and you'll be like right now, ge
- 33:56Speaker 2: and I and you'll hear mah. You got every time,
- 34:01Speaker 2: at any time I'm on the show live or on Fridays,
- 34:05Speaker 2: you gotta be ready for it.
- 34:08Speaker 1: You know what I love about you is that there
- 34:11Speaker 1: is so much serious, heavy shit that's just all over
- 34:18Speaker 1: the place, and it's like, man, just start scrolling on
- 34:21Speaker 1: your Facebook and you'll see it here around town and everywhere.
- 34:26Speaker 1: M m. But you you just have a way of
- 34:34Speaker 1: allowing us to escape that and just be children, yeah,
- 34:39Speaker 1: and just have fun. And it's so.
- 34:41Speaker 2: Funny because when I'm out in public, I always have
- 34:43Speaker 2: to be you know, appropriate and this and that. I know, Glenn,
- 34:46Speaker 2: you're gonna be like, I'm sorry, when are you appropriate?
- 34:50Speaker 2: But overall, you know, I like to have fun. I
- 34:54Speaker 2: like to laugh, you know, and you're going through your
- 34:57Speaker 2: thing with your shoulder. I'm going through a medical thing also,
- 35:01Speaker 2: and it's taking it out of both of us. I mean,
- 35:04Speaker 2: with your shoulder, you got to adjust things and you're
- 35:07Speaker 2: tired by the end of the day. And your shoulder
- 35:09Speaker 2: and my medical treatments do I have to adjust around that.
- 35:13Speaker 2: You know, when when I'm under treatment, I feel like crap.
- 35:16Speaker 2: You know, I'll be on the couch all day. But
- 35:21Speaker 2: we have to find those times that we we make
- 35:25Speaker 2: it okay.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Can screw off.
- 35:27Speaker 2: Yeah, it's okay to make it okay, even if you
- 35:29Speaker 2: feel like shit.
- 35:30Speaker 1: Yeah, it's okay to make it okay. And if you
- 35:32Speaker 1: feel like shit, it's okay to.
- 35:33Speaker 2: Let people help, which is something I'm learning between my
- 35:37Speaker 2: neighbor and your wife. The two of them are just
- 35:41Speaker 2: they're keeping me above board on things. They're keeping certain
- 35:44Speaker 2: foods in me, all that stuff. So it's okay to
- 35:50Speaker 2: just be stupid sometimes stupid. Yeah, just just be stupid,
- 35:54Speaker 2: not don't be offensive.
- 35:56Speaker 1: Yeah, but let it go goof around.
- 36:00Speaker 2: Yeah, don't be.
- 36:00Speaker 1: So don't be like the sergeants that don't know how
- 36:03Speaker 1: to smile. Yeah, right, clearly.
- 36:05Speaker 2: I'm fine now, so you can smile about it, damn them?
- 36:11Speaker 1: Can I can? I? You can do any you know,
- 36:16Speaker 1: I one of the And I just want to address
- 36:20Speaker 1: this briefly here. And I don't want to hang out
- 36:25Speaker 1: on this subject all day, right, but one of the
- 36:31Speaker 1: things that I wanted to ask you about and chat
- 36:34Speaker 1: with you about. And I'm looking for listeners to chime
- 36:38Speaker 1: in here drop a comment. On March thirteenth, I posted
- 36:47Speaker 1: up a photo of the old Beauveair's shoe repair shop,
- 36:54Speaker 1: yes across directly across the street face that was like
- 36:58Speaker 1: an icon.
- 36:59Speaker 2: That's everybody knew it was here Jed going there to
- 37:02Speaker 2: get his leather belts.
- 37:06Speaker 1: And there's a huge sign in the window that says
- 37:09Speaker 1: coming soon beer and tobacco shop. Right, And I just
- 37:14Speaker 1: posted the the the photo that I took up on Facebook.
- 37:21Speaker 1: I've got one hundred and eight comments here and eight
- 37:30Speaker 1: shares right, most of which are a not overly enthusiastic
- 37:44Speaker 1: about this. And you can go through and and and
- 37:51Speaker 1: read the comments, which I know you have. He here's
- 38:00Speaker 1: here's my my quick two cents on it. I think
- 38:06Speaker 1: that and I don't know who is opening up this
- 38:11Speaker 1: this shop. Here's my my two cents, and I'll be
- 38:17Speaker 1: very brief on this. I understand what a lot of
- 38:22Speaker 1: people are saying. But at the same time, it's it's
- 38:28Speaker 1: a building that's that's not going vacant, and it's someone
- 38:32Speaker 1: who is starting a business, right, And it may not
- 38:38Speaker 1: be the one that you overly desire seeing on North
- 38:41Speaker 1: main Street, but it is a business and at least
- 38:44Speaker 1: it's not a building that's going to be totally vacant
- 38:50Speaker 1: and neglected and run down. Right. That's my two cents.
- 38:55Speaker 1: Do you have anything and you may not, but do
- 38:59Speaker 1: you have any thing that you want to say about that?
- 39:02Speaker 1: And if you don't, that's fine.
- 39:04Speaker 2: You know, I have no problem with businesses coming into town. Okay,
- 39:08Speaker 2: I'd like to see a little more diversity, but I'm
- 39:12Speaker 2: eager to get in there and with Jed and see
- 39:15Speaker 2: what beers they have, because Jed loves different kinds of
- 39:18Speaker 2: beers and things like that, so I'm eager to do that.
- 39:22Speaker 2: I just feel like Barry has a very select kind
- 39:28Speaker 2: of businesses that are in here. You have three pot
- 39:32Speaker 2: shops in Barry, in Barry, not Barry Town, not Mypellyer
- 39:37Speaker 2: because that's another spot. But you have three pot shops
- 39:41Speaker 2: in here that sell gummies and drugs and all that
- 39:44Speaker 2: stuff legally, okay, you have enough banks here to choke
- 39:50Speaker 2: a horse. Everywhere you turn there's another bank.
- 39:54Speaker 1: Okay.
- 39:56Speaker 2: Then you have a plumber's place and a bunch of
- 40:00Speaker 2: empty buildings. And I just kind of wonder is a
- 40:05Speaker 2: smoke shop or that many pot shops or whatever necessary,
- 40:12Speaker 2: and can we get some more diversity in because right
- 40:15Speaker 2: now what's happening is we're driving down the street. In
- 40:17Speaker 2: every section of street we drive down, there's one building
- 40:20Speaker 2: either on the left of the right that's empty.
- 40:23Speaker 1: Okay.
- 40:24Speaker 2: But if somebody's in Burlington, like we always say, oh
- 40:27Speaker 2: I'd love to go to Burlington and shop this weekend, Okay,
- 40:29Speaker 2: let's go and when you get there you can shop.
- 40:32Speaker 2: What about people in Burlington or out of state that says, hey,
- 40:35Speaker 2: let's go to Barry and do some window shopping. There's
- 40:39Speaker 2: really nothing to windows shop, which is disappointing.
- 40:43Speaker 1: Okay. I have no problem with this business coming in.
- 40:46Speaker 2: I think it's great and it'll help people that love
- 40:50Speaker 2: different kinds of craft beers or whatever, and people who
- 40:53Speaker 2: may want to get smokes maybe at a better price.
- 40:56Speaker 2: I just kind of wonder why Barry is so focused.
- 41:00Speaker 2: If we're trying to get people back to mental health
- 41:02Speaker 2: and physical health, they're bringing a lot of smoke shops
- 41:05Speaker 2: in and to me, that's not necessarily the healthiest thing
- 41:10Speaker 2: for people.
- 41:12Speaker 1: Okay, but what do I know.
- 41:14Speaker 2: Everybody those who smoke enjoy smoking, and I'm not going
- 41:17Speaker 2: to judge them because I was a smoker for a
- 41:19Speaker 2: number of years. Okay, I'm just saying I'd really like
- 41:23Speaker 2: to see some some more diversity of shops that we go.
- 41:28Speaker 2: You know, you go to Montpelia, there's all different kinds
- 41:30Speaker 2: of shops. You've got the crystal shop that sells a
- 41:33Speaker 2: bunch of beads and crystals and they sell the witch
- 41:36Speaker 2: balls and all that stuff. You know, here, we don't
- 41:39Speaker 2: really have that. We have Aubischons and Nelson's. We got
- 41:43Speaker 2: a couple of choice restaurants and that's it. Everything else
- 41:48Speaker 2: is smoke shops banks. We just need more because every
- 41:53Speaker 2: strip mall in Barrie and everywhere you go, there's always
- 41:56Speaker 2: an empty building and that's kind of a nice source.
- 41:59Speaker 1: So let's get some in. And I get it.
- 42:02Speaker 2: We don't want to go to commercials, so we don't
- 42:04Speaker 2: want big businesses coming in here, which I think is silly, okay,
- 42:08Speaker 2: because it'd be nice to have a TJ. Max or
- 42:11Speaker 2: a Macy's or something here that you can get different things.
- 42:15Speaker 1: I like the you know, Bueno's kind of cool. I
- 42:19Speaker 1: like the place, I like Itali's yup is a really
- 42:23Speaker 1: cool place, yep. And I like the very city market
- 42:27Speaker 1: right next to that, right right.
- 42:30Speaker 2: But that's only those things are. They're so toughed away.
- 42:34Speaker 2: I really think Barry needs to let us put better
- 42:38Speaker 2: signs up to see them. Because one day Jed said,
- 42:40Speaker 2: I didn't know that there was a deli over here,
- 42:43Speaker 2: and I was like, yeah, their food is amazing. They
- 42:46Speaker 2: make great sandwiches. He's like, huh, I'll have to try it.
- 42:50Speaker 2: I was like, Jed, you've been in Barrie for years.
- 42:53Speaker 2: He's like, you can't see it. He's like, I didn't
- 42:56Speaker 2: know it.
- 42:56Speaker 1: Was there, you know. So I get.
- 42:59Speaker 2: We like to signs up and they have to be
- 43:01Speaker 2: a specific way to complement the esthetics of Barry and.
- 43:05Speaker 1: All that stuff.
- 43:06Speaker 2: But people, we got to show these businesses off and
- 43:10Speaker 2: we got to take in businesses. Cut the taxes for
- 43:13Speaker 2: a while, do something with the taxes I have for
- 43:16Speaker 2: the first three years, right, you know, like they do
- 43:18Speaker 2: in New York and other places. We want to get
- 43:21Speaker 2: people in here. I get it, Barry, you're very greedy
- 43:25Speaker 2: for money. You're raising taxes all the time. You're making
- 43:28Speaker 2: us pay more and more and more every year for
- 43:31Speaker 2: bad roads. Okay, empty buildings. But once in a while,
- 43:38Speaker 2: get a business in and if it's going to be
- 43:40Speaker 2: too much because your taxes, turn around and say, for
- 43:43Speaker 2: the first three years, we're going to give you a
- 43:45Speaker 2: tax break of twenty five percent or fifty percent to
- 43:48Speaker 2: get you started. And once you're in it for the
- 43:51Speaker 2: first three years and you're doing business and blah blah blah,
- 43:54Speaker 2: then we'll redo your tax quotas and stuff. I just
- 43:58Speaker 2: think that that it's important to get good businesses in here.
- 44:02Speaker 2: Not just smoke shops, not just beer shops, not just banks.
- 44:07Speaker 2: Let's get things. Let's make this a destination place. Because
- 44:10Speaker 2: everybody that comes up from out of state or whatever,
- 44:14Speaker 2: they go to Mumpelia and to Stow. Okay, even when
- 44:18Speaker 2: it's not snow season, they go to Stowe and Mompilia
- 44:22Speaker 2: because there's diversity of businesses. There's antique shops, there's all
- 44:27Speaker 2: the different things. And when they drive through Barry, they
- 44:30Speaker 2: blink and that's it, and they're like, oh, look this
- 44:32Speaker 2: building's empty. Oh that one's empty to what's going on.
- 44:36Speaker 2: That's just my opinion, as they say on Glee, And
- 44:39Speaker 2: that's how I see.
- 44:41Speaker 1: It, you know. And I've been saying this for jeez,
- 44:47Speaker 1: forget it. I don't even know how many years have
- 44:50Speaker 1: been saying this, that it would be so nice to
- 44:52Speaker 1: have like a teen center or somewhere where kids after
- 44:59Speaker 1: school can walk with with proximity, can walk to some
- 45:06Speaker 1: kind of team center, come indoors during the winter, sit read,
- 45:11Speaker 1: hang out, listen to music. You know. It's not a
- 45:16Speaker 1: full basketball court or anything, but just you know, maybe
- 45:20Speaker 1: a couple of maybe a what's that game that we
- 45:24Speaker 1: were playing there with foosball football game or something like that,
- 45:30Speaker 1: you know, just someplace.
- 45:33Speaker 2: And that's why I was trying to when I made
- 45:35Speaker 2: the Rainbow Bridge, I was trying to make a place
- 45:38Speaker 2: that anybody could go and play the air hockey or
- 45:42Speaker 2: use the computers to do research homework, or to hang
- 45:46Speaker 2: out and do their homework and stuff. That was my
- 45:49Speaker 2: original goal. It's changed a lot since then. Yeah, okay,
- 45:53Speaker 2: And I don't want to say for the better or
- 45:55Speaker 2: for the worse. I'm just saying it. The whole theme
- 45:58Speaker 2: of that place change. But I wanted to open up
- 46:02Speaker 2: a place that people could just come and be right, okay,
- 46:06Speaker 2: now you got to speak easy place over here or
- 46:08Speaker 2: that business place that people can sign up and use.
- 46:12Speaker 1: What's that place? The very social club? Yeah, the social club.
- 46:16Speaker 2: There, which I was very excited about until I saw
- 46:19Speaker 2: what the news are to be there and what you
- 46:22Speaker 2: get and stuff, and I was like, all right, that's
- 46:24Speaker 2: not really for me, but it's for a lot of
- 46:26Speaker 2: people because I see people going in there, so great.
- 46:29Speaker 2: We've attracted a certain appeal. What about the other places?
- 46:34Speaker 2: You know, there's a lot of smokers out there, I
- 46:36Speaker 2: get it, but there's a lot of non smokers.
- 46:39Speaker 1: There's a there's a new place that I have seen
- 46:42Speaker 1: down in the plaza across from Burger King, uh huh,
- 46:46Speaker 1: called Tobacco Wise. Yes. Yes, And I don't know if
- 46:50Speaker 1: you've you've so you know, I'm not I'm not a smoker.
- 46:53Speaker 1: I don't thape, I don't do any either. However, I've
- 46:57Speaker 1: been inside Tobacco Why, and I was really impressed. I mean,
- 47:03Speaker 1: the product alone is unbelievable. Yeah, and it's clean. It's clean,
- 47:07Speaker 1: it's new, the lighting, and they have a huge cigar room.
- 47:13Speaker 1: Now I don't smoke cigars, but let me tell you, man,
- 47:17Speaker 1: it's like if I were a cigar smoker. Yep, that
- 47:20Speaker 1: would be my goal. That yeah, that'd be my place,
- 47:22Speaker 1: I mean, and that's fine. The whole room is like
- 47:25Speaker 1: a documentary, yeah, you know, whatever the hell they call it,
- 47:30Speaker 1: but it's pachically whatever. It's really really really nice.
- 47:35Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, I leached out to them. And don't get
- 47:39Speaker 2: me wrong about these pot stores and stuff like that.
- 47:43Speaker 2: I have a medical marijuana cord and I have it
- 47:46Speaker 2: for my conditions, yeah, okay, and I don't smoke it.
- 47:51Speaker 2: I like gummies and drops, Okay, that that helps me deal, right,
- 47:56Speaker 2: So it's nice to have a couple of places that
- 47:58Speaker 2: I can go to get my drops and my gummies
- 48:05Speaker 2: and they all sell the same thing.
- 48:07Speaker 1: You know.
- 48:08Speaker 2: You go to one place and they sell Foreben's drinks
- 48:11Speaker 2: even though they're in Montpellier and stuff, so they all
- 48:15Speaker 2: sell basically the same And they're only allowed to sell
- 48:17Speaker 2: so many milligrams perk okay because it's state regulated.
- 48:21Speaker 1: Yeah, but I don't need unlike Chuck, right, right, but
- 48:27Speaker 1: I don't.
- 48:27Speaker 2: Need three or four places when I could put something
- 48:31Speaker 2: else in there, A nice boutique in there for ladies
- 48:34Speaker 2: who are gonna go, Hey, we're going to go to
- 48:36Speaker 2: the opera house and watch such and such a place.
- 48:38Speaker 2: So I'd like to dress up. So where do I
- 48:41Speaker 2: have to go? I have to go to Burlington for that?
- 48:44Speaker 1: Okay. When we went on.
- 48:45Speaker 2: Our cruise, I did a lot of my clothes shopping
- 48:48Speaker 2: online and in Burlington because there's nothing around here. And
- 48:53Speaker 2: don't say there's a Walmart because no, for your style
- 48:59Speaker 2: of what you like. Well and Charylynne, you're talking about
- 49:03Speaker 2: wide variety. Yeah, well you got your sports jackets? Where
- 49:07Speaker 2: do you get them in Barrier and Burlington?
- 49:10Speaker 1: For the crews? Great point? Where'd you go? Great point? Right? Yeah,
- 49:15Speaker 1: I understand. Right. So that's the problem.
- 49:18Speaker 2: We don't have anything here that meets the middle class,
- 49:24Speaker 2: upper class.
- 49:25Speaker 1: You know.
- 49:27Speaker 2: No, we got a cater to No, No, we don't
- 49:30Speaker 2: have to cater to anybody. We need to put diversity
- 49:33Speaker 2: and let the people decide where they want to shop.
- 49:36Speaker 1: Taylor says, yes, it's great that there's a business going
- 49:39Speaker 1: in and the place won't be vacant, and I agree
- 49:42Speaker 1: with her. But like she said, we have plenty of
- 49:45Speaker 1: spaces to get beer or smoke shop items, yep. Which
- 49:49Speaker 1: means there's going to be already established competition, which is
- 49:53Speaker 1: going to be tough for them to go up against,
- 49:56Speaker 1: and there's a good chance that they won't last long
- 49:58Speaker 1: because of that. Well, you got baron.
- 50:01Speaker 2: Everybody goes to beverage barn and there you can get liquors, beer,
- 50:06Speaker 2: anything hard side or whatever.
- 50:09Speaker 1: So you've got that there and that's the main place.
- 50:14Speaker 2: Now, if this one is is gonna, I think be
- 50:16Speaker 2: a little different because it's going to be a smoke
- 50:18Speaker 2: shop for you know, nice things or whatever, and beer also,
- 50:22Speaker 2: so great, let's give it a try. I'm one for
- 50:25Speaker 2: trying any new business and giving them patrons. Go in
- 50:30Speaker 2: and check it out. Check it out, especially if you
- 50:33Speaker 2: enjoy beers different. Jed loves different craft beers. He loves
- 50:37Speaker 2: all different kinds, and he always tastes different ones, right,
- 50:40Speaker 2: So if he sees one there that's different, he's gonna
- 50:42Speaker 2: be Oh, I'm gonna try that, and if he likes it,
- 50:44Speaker 2: he'll keep getting it from there. Yeah, but can you
- 50:48Speaker 2: give us some other stuff? Can you give us a
- 50:50Speaker 2: nice clothing store. Can you give us a nice antique store?
- 50:54Speaker 2: Can you give us you know, can you give us
- 50:56Speaker 2: stuff that we can not little tiny store? What's going
- 51:02Speaker 2: up here where they're putting where what the wedding place
- 51:07Speaker 2: used to be for bride's dresses and stuff like that.
- 51:10Speaker 1: We'll be honest.
- 51:11Speaker 2: Yeah, what's going in that spot is they're doing a
- 51:13Speaker 2: lot of remodeling.
- 51:14Speaker 1: There, which is yeah. I don't know. They're ripping off
- 51:19Speaker 1: the whole front of the.
- 51:20Speaker 2: They took the whole front off and they flattened it,
- 51:23Speaker 2: which is nice.
- 51:23Speaker 1: I don't know what's going on.
- 51:24Speaker 2: And they put a beautiful set of concrete stairs and
- 51:28Speaker 2: walkway and everything, so you know, it looks grand.
- 51:32Speaker 1: I'm going to reach out to Bury Area Development yeah
- 51:38Speaker 1: one more time, yea, and ask them to come in
- 51:42Speaker 1: here and start talking about these things, because people want
- 51:44Speaker 1: to know. People want to know. They do. I mean,
- 51:47Speaker 1: I just got a text here from someone who doesn't
- 51:51Speaker 1: want to post this publicly, but it's a little bit
- 51:56Speaker 1: of a rant about the Soups and Greens building.
- 52:00Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, yes, that has been dead forever.
- 52:06Speaker 1: What's what's this, what's the latest? What's the style?
- 52:11Speaker 2: No, I don't know, well, we need to know, we
- 52:14Speaker 2: do we we the people, damn it, we need to know. Now,
- 52:18Speaker 2: there's a Chipoltley coming up by the mall. Well, I
- 52:21Speaker 2: don't want to call it all by that set of
- 52:23Speaker 2: stores up there, but near Walmart Central for mount Marketplace.
- 52:27Speaker 2: It's not central for marketplace. There's nothing a market there.
- 52:30Speaker 2: You got five below, which is little baby garbage. You've
- 52:34Speaker 2: got Holly Lobby, which half the community doesn't go to
- 52:37Speaker 2: because of the fact that they're anti gay and they're religious.
- 52:41Speaker 2: And then you've got Walmart where everybody goes to get
- 52:44Speaker 2: their stupid little stuff. It's not a market, it's a
- 52:48Speaker 2: it's a set of stores in a building. Okay, so
- 52:51Speaker 2: let's go there first. But next to it, up by
- 52:55Speaker 2: the Senior centers and all that that they built for housing,
- 52:58Speaker 2: they're putting into bolt let in there, and they're putting
- 53:02Speaker 2: my not my best choice, but a Starbucks up there.
- 53:07Speaker 1: Right, those are the Fox run apartments, which are beautiful. Right.
- 53:11Speaker 2: I don't know if I would have chosen Starbucks, but hey,
- 53:14Speaker 2: it's it's it's building more places for us to go
- 53:18Speaker 2: get a nice coffee or for us to get a
- 53:20Speaker 2: nice meal, whatever the case may be.
- 53:22Speaker 1: Chapotle's.
- 53:23Speaker 2: That like the kind of place that you can go
- 53:25Speaker 2: and you can get it done faster than if you
- 53:28Speaker 2: go to a restaurant. Yeah right, okay, so that's all great.
- 53:33Speaker 2: Can we bring something down here, you know what I mean?
- 53:37Speaker 2: Can we give us something else? Because you have a
- 53:40Speaker 2: Starbucks right in price Chopper, So now we got one
- 53:43Speaker 2: in price Chopper and then one at the top of
- 53:44Speaker 2: the hill.
- 53:46Speaker 1: Come on. Josh has a a good point here. He says,
- 53:50Speaker 1: we almost got a home depot down by Price Chopper. Yeah,
- 53:54Speaker 1: some years back.
- 53:55Speaker 2: How stupid was that that we didn't get it?
- 53:58Speaker 1: Protesters, Yeah, got the developer to back out. Yeah, we
- 54:02Speaker 1: almost didn't get a Walmart due to protesters and complaints. Right,
- 54:06Speaker 1: everyone says they want more.
- 54:08Speaker 2: Business, and then they complain, and then they complain and
- 54:11Speaker 2: then the complaints come out. Because not for nothing, the
- 54:13Speaker 2: home depot over here would have been huge. It would
- 54:18Speaker 2: have you know how much, Yeah, you know how much?
- 54:22Speaker 1: We would have gone there.
- 54:23Speaker 2: Jed and I have to go all the way to
- 54:24Speaker 2: Burlington to get our home depot or down to westleb
- 54:28Speaker 2: And we make the trip because we like their prices,
- 54:31Speaker 2: we like their diversity of items that we can get
- 54:34Speaker 2: we can pick out a wash or dryer. They're not
- 54:37Speaker 2: this stupid little appliance store at the end of it
- 54:41Speaker 2: going into Berlin. Hey, it's a cute store, but they
- 54:45Speaker 2: don't have all the stuff that you would get at
- 54:47Speaker 2: a at a home depot or something like that. And
- 54:52Speaker 2: then the people said.
- 54:53Speaker 1: No, no, no.
- 54:54Speaker 2: Because what too much traffic, too commercialized? What Oh, because
- 55:00Speaker 2: then it's going to affect the little home stores over here.
- 55:04Speaker 2: And come on, people, stop turning away businesses and start
- 55:10Speaker 2: accepting the fact that this is twenty twenty six. Okay,
- 55:15Speaker 2: we're not that old small town anymore. Okay, we need
- 55:19Speaker 2: to come up to the times a little bit. The
- 55:22Speaker 2: town can look quaint, but it's okay. At the end
- 55:25Speaker 2: of the town to put a home depot in or
- 55:28Speaker 2: something like that. They wanted to put a superstore in
- 55:31Speaker 2: for Walmart, they had to put the one they had
- 55:33Speaker 2: in because the superstore, Oh, we can't have all that.
- 55:36Speaker 2: So we drive to Costco, Sam's Club, all these places
- 55:41Speaker 2: outside of Barry. We go to these places outside of
- 55:45Speaker 2: Barry because there's nothing here.
- 55:47Speaker 1: Yeah, Ed has a great coming here, and I want
- 55:50Speaker 1: to see the look on your face. You're ready, Ed
- 55:53Speaker 1: says we need another tire shop. Oh my god, how
- 55:57Speaker 1: many damn tire shops do we need? You're right, and
- 56:01Speaker 1: I know that's pure sarcasm, and I agree with you.
- 56:05Speaker 1: How when they when that car dealer left and I
- 56:08Speaker 1: saw somebody was going in, I said to dred ooh,
- 56:10Speaker 1: something's coming in here a tire shop, which, by the way,
- 56:15Speaker 1: one block up there's a tire shop, and a block
- 56:20Speaker 1: from there there's a tire shop. What about part stores?
- 56:24Speaker 2: Yeah, why don't Oh there's plenty of part stores too,
- 56:28Speaker 2: So why don't we just put Hey, you know what,
- 56:31Speaker 2: let's put a tire shop in Barry two.
- 56:33Speaker 1: Why not?
- 56:34Speaker 2: Busby isn't good enough? We need to go big.
- 56:37Speaker 1: I mean, come on, people, you're saying it like it
- 56:40Speaker 1: is well, because.
- 56:41Speaker 2: I'm getting tired of living here and seeing nothing for
- 56:45Speaker 2: my dollar. You know, the roads suck. I don't care
- 56:50Speaker 2: how badly they try to fill it. You're putting cold
- 56:53Speaker 2: patches in the middle of the winter, and you're getting
- 56:55Speaker 2: the holes right back again.
- 56:57Speaker 1: Okay.
- 56:57Speaker 2: And they're saying that nobody can sue the town if
- 57:00Speaker 2: it destroys their car because they drove into a pothole
- 57:03Speaker 2: and the tire broke or something else.
- 57:05Speaker 1: Fish Fisher Road by eight or two Toyota get it
- 57:09Speaker 1: that intercept? Yeah? Wow, I take figure up. Do they
- 57:14Speaker 1: need to pause? Do they need to dig down like
- 57:16Speaker 1: ten feet and start start over? Yeah?
- 57:18Speaker 2: Like yeah, they need somebody who can guess what New
- 57:22Speaker 2: York guess what they get cold in winter?
- 57:25Speaker 1: Two?
- 57:26Speaker 2: Their roads don't look like this? What about the other
- 57:29Speaker 2: what about the hard wits roads don't look like this?
- 57:31Speaker 2: What about the other end of the mall? Like heading
- 57:34Speaker 2: Oh my god, if you leave the mall like and
- 57:37Speaker 2: you're heading out Berlinside there by Chestnut horrible, horrible where
- 57:42Speaker 2: the new Chipotle is going in and they.
- 57:45Speaker 1: Just did they just did those roads.
- 57:48Speaker 2: Oh my, Jed and I he said, you know what,
- 57:50Speaker 2: let's go this way because these roads are just done.
- 57:52Speaker 2: And we got like halfway through it, and he's like,
- 57:55Speaker 2: these are like land mines, okay, and nobody people. It's
- 58:01Speaker 2: your tax dollars that you keep paying, okay, and yet
- 58:06Speaker 2: where's the production to prove it. Josh says, my thing,
- 58:09Speaker 2: I'm getting so annoyed with paying, Like Jen said to me,
- 58:13Speaker 2: I'm driving down these roads. Do I get a refund
- 58:15Speaker 2: for the shitty roads that I paid extra? Taxes for
- 58:19Speaker 2: and the roads look like shit. Can I go to
- 58:21Speaker 2: the town and ask for a refund?
- 58:24Speaker 1: Comment here home depot would have been would have brought
- 58:28Speaker 1: so many more businesses here and shoppers. Yep. Similar to
- 58:32Speaker 1: the eighties and nineties when Harry's Aims Sayers Riches, Grossman's
- 58:40Speaker 1: and a full mall right here, right, you couldn't find
- 58:43Speaker 1: a vacant building in the area. Yep.
- 58:45Speaker 2: Well you know why they're vacant now, right, taxes are
- 58:48Speaker 2: too damn high.
- 58:49Speaker 1: What's what's gonna what's gonna happen? This is why part
- 58:53Speaker 1: of the reason why I want Bury area development in here.
- 58:56Speaker 1: What's what's being discussed about the mister Z's building? Yeah,
- 59:00Speaker 1: I mean Jen was just asking about it. I think
- 59:02Speaker 1: it was Jen just a little bit ago.
- 59:03Speaker 2: Yeah, disease building. It's the latest is empty and dead.
- 59:07Speaker 2: You've got the what's gonna happen?
- 59:10Speaker 1: Though? I do it up for Lee's what's going on?
- 59:13Speaker 1: Are we going to take it?
- 59:14Speaker 2: Can take it down and make it a parking lot,
- 59:16Speaker 2: because lord knows, we need more parking for the restaurant
- 59:19Speaker 2: back there, because that that place gets packed in the
- 59:22Speaker 2: summertime especially, But what about the Salvation Army.
- 59:28Speaker 1: That building. Yes, it got flooded. We get it. I
- 59:32Speaker 1: took a picture of it yesterday, put it up on
- 59:34Speaker 1: Area out.
- 59:35Speaker 2: But if it's not, if we're not going to use it,
- 59:37Speaker 2: let's do something about the eyesores, you know what, even
- 59:42Speaker 2: the windows. I was watching a home show. Not only that,
- 59:46Speaker 2: I was watching a home show where they go from
- 59:49Speaker 2: town to town and they fix the town's up. And
- 59:52Speaker 2: one of the things they did was they went into
- 59:54Speaker 2: a nice, quaint town like this, and everything was just
- 59:58Speaker 2: like this. All the buildings were they were brown stone,
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: all that stuff, and they had a lot of empty
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: stores in it. So first of all, they did colors
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: on the buildings to give the buildings a certain pop.
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: And on top of that, there's around here. And then
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: on top of.
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: That, they put signs that came out of each building
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: over like over, so that when you look down your store,
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: just like when you're in Price Chop or anyway, you
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: see these signs that tell you what's.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: In that aisle that's perpendicular.
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: Yes, so they have signs that are perpendicular that when
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: you're walking down the street, you don't have to say, oh,
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: what's this and you move out into the street to
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: read the sign that's stupid, okay. And then the empty
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: buildings they decorated them. They made them look like coming soon,
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: this could be your space, and they'd have flowers coming
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: up for the spring or whatever, and the windows wouldn't
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: be just empty. They they decorate the windows with you
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: want to rent this space, coming soon, call this number.
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: And they made it look like fun, so it wasn't
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: just empty hollow buildings that you're driving down looking at
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: ghost buildings. Yeah, they did something with the empty faces
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: to at least make it like, hey, you could rent here,
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: or hey, this space is available for you.
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: Call this number.
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: Not those little stupid signs they pop in the window
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: that look cheesy and make us look like we're beaten
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: up town. Yeah, let's I'll head the whole thing. If
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: they want to pay me to fucking run this part
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: of it, I would because we need to We need
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: to decorate and upscale the empty stores. Not decorate with
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: Christmas decorations and Halloween. No, we need to cover the
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: windows three quarters of the way up with a sign
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: this could be your space, and have it nice and
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: decorated with whatever we want to put on it, you know,
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: shoe shoe repairs in one picture and then on this
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: picture over here, ice cream. You know, so they can
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: get ideas of what can go in these buildings and
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: stop saying no to them, and give them a tax
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: break so they can get in there for the first
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: few years and get themselves established, you know, make the effort. Yeah,
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: on their side, because we're tired of driving through it.
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: Every time Sheolin or Tracy says to me, hey, let's
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: go shopping. I'm like, okay, where do you want to go.
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: Let's do Westleb this time, and then next time, you
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: know what, let's head up to Burlington to Church Street.
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: Nobody says let's go shopping in Barry because there's nothing
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: to shop for people. Come on, that's my RAMT. That
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: shows you how passionate I am about that.
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: Josh says Berry City isn't attractive to businesses high costs.
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: Have moved businesses elsewhere because they have options. Yeah, and
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: says because they won't dredge the river. Nobody wants to
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: rent these buildings.
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: And let's also talk about the fact that when you
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: drive it between Barry and Berlin, that stench Cherylyn and
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: I were driving through last week and She's like, I'm
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: so sorry.
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: It's not me. It's the air.
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: I said, no, I know. It's this horrible stench. And
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: once it gets in your car, it takes a good
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: ten to fifteen minutes of driving to get it out. Okay,
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: And I thought I could be wrong, but correct me
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: if I'm wrong. But I thought last summer they did
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: something to correct that, didn't they They they they did.
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: I don't know what they did, but it did something.
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: It was on the three h two road to improve. Yeah,
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: this is the uh whatever the jeez, what is it called.
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: What is it called? Whatever it's called, you're gonna say that,
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: I'm gonna say the wrong thing. Yeah, whatever it's called.
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: It didn't work. Yeah, because especially with the spring coming
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: and starting to warm up, you drive through that area.
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: I literally, I swear to God, once I leave Barry
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: get to Beverage Barren, Yeah, I shut my heat or
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: my AC off completely so that it doesn't filter that
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: smell in until I get down by Dunkin Donuts, and
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: then I turn it back on because it's horrible. Glenn says,
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: we haven't heard anything about it since they got the
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: money to do it.
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: Right, it was. It was the voters voted a bond
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: vote right to have that situation taken care of. Right,
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: I don't know what. I don't I don't know what
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: it's called. It's called something I can't I can't remember. Well,
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: it didn't work. The voter's money went. Well, No, I
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: don't think I don't think they have actually done it yet. Well,
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: that's even worse supposed to be done working. And listen,
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: our city manager has been in here, he sat on
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: that couch and he he has said, we got to
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: stop putting band aids on some of these big problems
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: that we have.
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: Let's let's take the band aid off the roads. And
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: I am right the first time. I'm going to reach
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: out to them today and see that. Thank you Dan.
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: Jesus if I have not had enough coffee this morning,
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: the sewer treatment plant, Thank you Dan, Thank you. Why
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: was Why couldn't I think of those words?
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: Because because there's so much there's so much going on
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: in the world, it's hard to remember every little thing.
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: That's why we have listeners, and that's why we have
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: faithful listeners, because they are able to help us when
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: we need it. And right now to thank you Dan,
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: Thank you Dan. Yes, God, you're not getting anything for it. Dan,
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: We're not giving you a gift car or any damn thing.
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: Get over it.
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: You'll get nothing. But here's the thing I need to
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: I'm going to ask our city manager Nicholas to come
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: in here and give us an update on you, yeah,
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: because we'd like to know.
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: And if he doesn't have an update, then just have
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: him say, you know, don't he don't have an update
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: right now. That's the thing though, I don't like double
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: talk and unfortunate, and Nicholas is not one to do
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: that for the most part. But I don't like politicians
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: who double talk. Yeah, you know, wouldn't it be cool,
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: just once, just once, to have one politician.
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: Who just says it, you know what I mean.
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: Wouldn't it be nice for Republicans to look at Trump
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: and say you're gone too far?
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: Okay?
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: Or hey, what's going on with the roads? I don't
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: have an answer for you yet.
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: You just be honest. Look at this comment. I think
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: the homeowners around that area should have their property taxes dropped.
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: Yes, that's what Jed said. He says he wants a refund.
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: He's like, you know what, I want a damn refund.
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: Because the roads are like shit. Now once you get
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: to Barrytown going Uphill Street, the roads become nice because
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: they know how to take care of their roads. Okay,
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: but the line hang on a second. There's a couple
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: of whappers on Hill Street, right, a couple of there
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: below the Barry Town line. They're in the Barry City.
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: When you're coming Downhill Street, there's a huge hall crater.
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: Yes, that is so huge. Yes, I could swim in there.
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: It's horrible. Have you seen the mermaid that's going around
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: the area swimming in some of the potholes. No, not yet,
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: Oh you must.
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: But what's funny is if you stand at the top
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: of Hill Street and you look down and just watch
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: the cars going down and up, Swear to god people,
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: this is what you see. I'll do it this way. Okay,
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: do it? A car coming down, a car coming up
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: head on, this is what they're doing. Yes, And then
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: if they get up to each other, then they're like,
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: all right, which one is gonna move over and take
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: the beating.
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: That's how it is.
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: They don't know what you're supposed to be able to
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: drive rate on your side of the road, But going
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: up and Downhill Street before Barrytown. All you're doing is
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: dodge this and oh, here comes a car. Can I
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: speed up and get around this first? And that shouldn't
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: be the way it is for the amount of taxes
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: we pay, okay, and I'm in Barrytown, but not for nothing.
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: I'm driving through Barry City. Yeah, okay. So instead of
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: being like, well, and that's the funny thing, because Barry City,
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: in Barrytown, supposedly with the the board of whatever, the
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: boards that run you know, the politics and stuff, they
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: work in Unison. It's not well, they're Barrytown. We don't
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: deal with it.
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: I pay my water, but I pay my water to
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: Barry City. Okay, So they work in Unison. So there
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: should be no reason why Barry Town line it's nice roads,
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: Barry City line crappy roads. This should be no reason
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: for that. And if you're gonna just cold patch because
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: you're too goddamn lazy to actually do it right the
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: first time so that you don't have to do it
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: again every year, if you're gonna cold patch, well then
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: get the hell up there in cold Patch that hole. Okay,
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: do your job.
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: Okay, Yeah, I'm good.
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: And that's how I see it, people are like, holy shit,
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: Jesus went on a ramp. You know, remember people every
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: now and then I got to do a ramp and
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: that was my soapbox.
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: In through the nose, out through the mouth. Community Calendar.
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: Meet Bingo tonight at the American Lech in Post ten
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: right down the road.
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: I love bingo, but I don't play. You know why
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: because just when I get my number, somebody's already screamed
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: out bingo.
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: Damn it.
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm always one number shure.
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: And the thing is, if you play meat Bingo tonight
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: at the Legion and you get a bingo, you better
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: not yell bingo because you'll be disqualified. You have to
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: yell meat. Wow, you got do you get meat? You
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: get meat? It could be a turkey. It could be
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: a ham cut, nice Mackenzie ham. It could be bacon,
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: it could be anything sausage. Huh. Yeah, it's a lot
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: of fun. Huh. That's happening tonight tomorrow, the twenty first
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: Bradford Winter Carnival over at the Bradford Academy. We got
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: lids and lines, custom helmet pinstriping. That's going to be
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: over at Wilkins. Okay, get over there getting helmet done.
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: We got the Winter Farmers Market over in Montpelier. Some
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: thing's going on. And mark your calendars, ladies and gents
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: for the biggest professional MMA event in the region Saturday,
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: May second. Donnybrook Fight Promotions The Art of Eight Limbs.
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: This is going to be jam packed over at the
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: beautiful Double Tree by Hilton in Burlington. It's going to
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: be huge. Get your tickets Donnybrook Fight Promotions dot com.
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: It's a shame they're not still doing them here. But yeah,
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: that's another political bs. That's the problem is everything is
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: so political and does any of the politicians want to
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: actually represent their constituents?
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: That's my question.
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: Instead of trying to win over another party, can we
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: just focus on what you were actually hired to do?
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: You know?
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: That's the way I see it. I really think that
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: politics is much more important than people's personal needs.
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: You know what it is though, it's more than take politics,
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: break it down a little bit smaller than that. Right.
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: What it comes down to is in this is just
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: my opinion, right, Hang on a second, Am I entitled
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: to it? But you are? Okay? Is clicks and pissing matches? Absolutely? Absolutely,
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: there's too many, too much clicks going on. And it's
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: no surprise to me that Donny Brigg Fight Promotions would
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: say I'm funck this. Yeah, I'm out. You know what
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: else is going on up at the Burry Auditorium. I mean,
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: there's a couple of great things that are happening out there,
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: but you know, especially during the holidays with the huge
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: craft craft show up there, and I think the gun show.
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: I mean, there's a lot of great things going on them,
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: right but the farm show, there's one thing that's moved
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: to the Champlain Valley x FO. You know, yeah, I know,
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: and it's disappointing. You know. It's this point. I'll tell you.
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: When I was running the Rainbow Bridge, I was in
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: a ward. Never saw any of my award people come
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: in and see how I'm doing or what's going on
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: things like that. Okay, where are these people other than
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: showing up for the town meeting when they all get
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: to sit together and defend each other against the town
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: and throw a bunch of well, you know something we
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: can definitely look into and bab bah bah. I'm telling
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: you right now, people, and I know this for a fact,
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: for a fact, and if you want to know how
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: message me privately. When they go into those town meetings
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: and they want to hear new business or whatever, they've
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: already made up their mind. You can go there and
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: you can put an amazing presentation in front of them,
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: and they've already made up their mind because they ask
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: for those people to give them the information ahead of
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: time so they can process it and see it and
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: all that. Then they all make a decision, okay. And
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: then you get in there and you've got your speech ready,
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: you've got your facts, your data, the sheets, all this stuff,
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: and you get up in the podium and you hand
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: it out to them and this and that and you
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: do the whole thing, and then they're like, Okay, we'll
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: definitely consider that. But they already know it's not gonna
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: happen because they can't be honest about it. And I
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: know this for a fact, okay, because it happened to
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: someone I know, okay, And I don't want to say
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: who's there. What doesn't matter. The bottom line is we
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: should be going in there and they should be welcoming input.
- 1:14:42Speaker 2: They should welcome it. That's why people go in there
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: so hostile and so angry, because they know they got
- 1:14:48Speaker 2: to fight real hard to get a road fixed or
- 1:14:53Speaker 2: to do whatever when they've already decided.
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: It's not in the budget. It's not in the budget.
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: We'd rather buy a bit building that's been sitting around
- 1:15:02Speaker 2: forever and spend this money without telling the town, instead
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: of helping these townspeople who are asking for diverse businesses,
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: better roads, better lighting in the area. Okay, cleaner looking buildings,
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: you know, is that too much to ask? Whatever the questions? Well,
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: the cost money? Gee, this is just.
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: Popping in my head right now. Whatever happened to all
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: the security cameras that were supposed to be put in
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: all over the city. Yeah, no, no, I'm literally I'm
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: asking does anyone know?
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: Well, they probably don't be the bud. Maybe they are,
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: I just haven't. I don't know, No, I don't know.
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: You know, over there, there's a building next to the
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: grills and all that stuff, and there's a sign from
- 1:15:51Speaker 2: you see over there, sign coming out. Yeah, that's what
- 1:15:55Speaker 2: they need to do on every building here. Okay, you
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: can from here, I can read it a perpendicular sign. Yes,
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: from here, I can read it. So let's do that
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: going all the way down. Let's decorate the windows, saying
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: you can rent here and give them ideas of different
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: things that can go in that building. You know you've
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: got the place over where like you brought up soups
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: and greens, Let's decorate that window, assign and say your restaurant,
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: your coffee shop, your bah bah could be here. Okay,
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: let's do that instead of well we got empty buildings.
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: Let's see if anybody has any ideas of what they'd
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: like to put in there, give us some ideas.
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: Recruit. I remember, way back.
- 1:16:44Speaker 2: When I did the Rainbow Bridge, the person who was
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: running the buried community that remember that young man that
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: was working there.
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: Way back for b A DC Very Area Development. Yeah,
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: Cody Morrison.
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: Right, He actively actively was going to businesses outside of
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: Barry and trying to get them to come in. Okay,
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: he actively did that and he brought businesses in. And
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: when I was opening up the center, he was there
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: weekly saying what do you need from us? Okay, what
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: do you need? Here's our standards this you must follow.
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: What do you need? And I'd say, well this one
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: right here isn't going to work for me? And they
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: make adjustments accordingly. Okay, where is that now?
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: Okay?
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: Where and I'm sure that's happening. I'm sure it's getting done,
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: but we don't hear us see it. We'd like to
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: know what's actively being done actively not well, all these businesses.
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: We need to get more in here, duh, don't double
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: talk us. Tell us what's going on because we live here,
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: and Lord knows, we keep paying those taxes you keep
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: raising between school taxes. There's a lot of people that
- 1:18:04Speaker 2: don't have kids and they're paying school taxes. My neighbor Tracy,
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: never had a kid in her life. They chose they
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: didn't want kids. They wanted to just enjoy life. Okay,
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: she's paying the school taxes that keeps going up, and
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: she's like, why why does it keep going up?
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: Barry City or Barrytown.
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: We're in Barrytown, but the taxes are going up everywhere.
- 1:18:29Speaker 2: And I'm just you know, people, I'm not angry or whatever.
- 1:18:33Speaker 2: I'm just kind of miffed. I'm miffed at how things
- 1:18:38Speaker 2: are being run. Okay, why is it that Mompilia has
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: a full stores? Everywhere they're all full? Why is the
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: stores in Burlington are all full? Why is it when
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: I drove through Rutland, all these storefronts were full.
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: And we're not.
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: What are we doing wrong? And how do we fix it?
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: This is your Friday morning mental floss with g and
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: it's Gee's spot.
- 1:19:10Speaker 2: And I'm sorry people, I didn't mean to. I just
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: we should all stand up, not just one or two people.
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: We should all show up ice and do it.
- 1:19:20Speaker 2: Look at the concerts in the park over here, they're wonderful.
- 1:19:25Speaker 2: I don't go to a lot of them, but they're fun.
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: They got food there, they got music there, and it
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: gets you out of the house, yep, and just sitting
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: on the lawn or meeting other people and chatting things
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: like that. Why are we not doing more shit like
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: that in town? Why are we not having open store
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: Day where everybody brings this stuff onto the street, not
- 1:19:46Speaker 2: just at the fair that we have here once a year,
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: but that we do interactions out on the street to
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: get businesses in Okay, where's all that stuff?
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: You need a permit to put a here on them?
- 1:20:01Speaker 2: Of course you do when you gotta pay for it.
- 1:20:04Speaker 2: And then when you pay for it, where's that money going?
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: General fund? General fund? Right? Right? Yeah? Good good stuff.
- 1:20:13Speaker 2: Live it out loud this morning, yeah, saying what we
- 1:20:16Speaker 2: have to say we were going to talk about the cruise.
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: But here's the thing with G. Don't worry. He'll say
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: what you're thinking, Well.
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: That's it, and it's not that I'm look, it's just
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: my opinion. Yeah, okay, But unfortunately are entitled. I am
- 1:20:34Speaker 2: entitled to an opinion. I am just check it. The
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: thing is with my opinion, though, I form my opinions
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: based on what I hear and I see and I read. Okay,
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: this is not just G decide to get up and
- 1:20:46Speaker 2: say I don't like the empty building. I hear people talking.
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: I hear I see people's frustrations. And when I drive
- 1:20:54Speaker 2: down the street with a friend of mine and they're
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: complaining about it, and then another friend I go out
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: with and they're complaining about And then I go into
- 1:21:01Speaker 2: town and at a restaurant while I'm meeting, people behind
- 1:21:03Speaker 2: me are complaining about it.
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: It's a real issue.
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: That we the people have, and I think it would
- 1:21:11Speaker 2: behoove our government here in town to listen more to
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: us and not tell us can't do it. There's nothing
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: more than I hate thing being told I can't do it. Okay,
- 1:21:25Speaker 2: There's nothing more than I hate when we were remodeling
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: my kitchen. Jed said, I know you like that, but
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: I can't do it. I'm like, stop, there's always a solution, okay.
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: And making us go through these roads every single winter,
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: that's not a solution, that's a band aid.
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: Like you say, yep, I want to say this. I
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: want to give a shout out to a couple of sponsors. Here.
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: It's Friday, we have another weekend that is right in
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: front of us. I want to give you an idea
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: here because if you're freaking out your Friday, it's tired,
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: You're not sure what you're going to be doing for
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: dinner tonight whatever. I'm not sure if you can afford
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: going out to a restaurant, whatever it may be. You
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: want something quick, you want something simple. Think about loa
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: Carnos to go, all fresh ingredients, all made right here locally.
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: They've got coolers set up at Hill Street Market, Green
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: Mountain Community Fitness Central, vermunt Meats. This is your option.
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: This is something where you can go and get a
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: fresh made pizza. All you do is pop it in
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: the oven. Right you want to lie to your wife
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: and tell her that you made the pizza by hand,
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: That's fine, you can do that or that you made,
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: you know, the chicken pakada meal yourself, right, you can
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: do that absolutely, that's fine. Yeah, but it's quick. It's simple,
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: fresh ingredients, local ingredients made local Craig. Yeah, they know
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: what they're doing. That's nice. It really is. Pretchel Road
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: in Orange is where Central Fromont meets his Hill Street Market.
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: Of course that's right over by your place. Yep, Green
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: Mountain Community Fitness again. Quality these yeah, these are all
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: these coolers are all stocked up and ready for the weekend. Also,
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: shout out this morning to Optical Expressions. These glasses made
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: by will Over at Optical Expressions. Love them to pieces.
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: If you haven't been on oe Berlin dot com, you
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: ought to be right. But yeah, Monday through Friday eight
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: to six, get over there, fourth floor of the Blanchard
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: Block right here in Barry, get your eye exam. Look
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: at some new specs. I just had my eye exam
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: Mark Leeper guys, amazing, right.
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: I didn't find out if they take my insurance, Go.
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: Take your insurance.
- 1:24:04Speaker 2: I have to find out because I have to go
- 1:24:07Speaker 2: to Burlington for my eyes because they take my insurance.
- 1:24:11Speaker 2: So I need to find out, all right, because why
- 1:24:14Speaker 2: am I going all the way to Burlington when.
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: I can just come up right here. Exactly. You get these.
- 1:24:18Speaker 2: Glasses in Burlington and and they're starting to crack up
- 1:24:21Speaker 2: on top, and it hasn't it's just a year. So
- 1:24:25Speaker 2: I'd rather go there and get a couple of different
- 1:24:28Speaker 2: frames and a couple of different looks.
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: I'll go with you. That's fine, I'll go with you.
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: And then they put your head in the thing and
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: you look at the little tiny red barns. Yeah. And
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: then and Mark, he's like, so how are things going late?
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: Give you that blast air and yep, yep, yeah, I know.
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: It's just it's a good it's a great experience over there. Yeah,
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: it really is. And it's pleasant. Yeah, good people.
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: It's not high pressure. They're not trying to make you
- 1:24:55Speaker 2: buy things. I've been there, Yeah, I've gone when they
- 1:24:58Speaker 2: were at another location before they moved up here. They
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: used to be in the mall, in the mall and
- 1:25:03Speaker 2: we would go in there all the time and Jed
- 1:25:04Speaker 2: would pick a frame or whatever. I just don't know
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: if they accept our insurance, because you know, you get insurance.
- 1:25:12Speaker 2: Two things about this, I'm going to go from insurance
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: here we go to off insurance. Okay, you get insurance,
- 1:25:19Speaker 2: and then when you're all set with your doctors and
- 1:25:21Speaker 2: this and that, the company decides we're now switching to
- 1:25:24Speaker 2: this and you're like what the f And they don't give.
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: You an option. It's like this is it?
- 1:25:30Speaker 2: Okay, and they just switch on you, just like when
- 1:25:35Speaker 2: you're a bank card. Okay, your bank card runs out,
- 1:25:40Speaker 2: it's good for four years or whatever. Now the date
- 1:25:42Speaker 2: has come, they send you a new card with a
- 1:25:44Speaker 2: different number. So now you've got to start all over again,
- 1:25:48Speaker 2: contacting all the bills, places and everything else. You're automatic,
- 1:25:51Speaker 2: so blah blah blah to change the number. Why can't
- 1:25:55Speaker 2: you just keep it simple?
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: Stupid?
- 1:25:57Speaker 2: If my numbers working fine for me, leave my number.
- 1:26:00Speaker 2: If I have a problem with somebody breaking in and
- 1:26:02Speaker 2: get I'll contact you for a new card. But no,
- 1:26:06Speaker 2: they know me. The insurance Judg's insurance switched completely as
- 1:26:11Speaker 2: of January. First, we're gonna be blah, I know. And
- 1:26:15Speaker 2: I was like, wow, now, don't get me wrong. The
- 1:26:18Speaker 2: hospital really really worked hard that you didn't have to
- 1:26:22Speaker 2: bring a new card in or anything like that. They
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: had it all transferred to the new insurance for everybody. Yep, okay,
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: so jed and my insurance, which is through the hospital
- 1:26:32Speaker 2: that got switched automatically. I showed up. They said your
- 1:26:37Speaker 2: same insurance and then they gave that new name. I know,
- 1:26:40Speaker 2: all right, but not everybody does that. No, and so
- 1:26:44Speaker 2: I don't know now with its new insurance if they
- 1:26:47Speaker 2: accept cleanses.
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: Medicare doesn't cover eyeglasses or dental No it doesn't. No,
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: you need to get a supplement for that.
- 1:26:57Speaker 2: No, I don't have Medicare Supplement B ship Well, yeah
- 1:27:02Speaker 2: you've got. You've got pot A, Part B pot d uh.
- 1:27:07Speaker 2: And then supplemental on top. Part D covers medications and
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: stuff like that, and A and B covers injuries, hospitalizations,
- 1:27:16Speaker 2: all that fun stuff. But no teeth and eyes Apparently
- 1:27:21Speaker 2: apparently you don't need your eyes and you don't have
- 1:27:24Speaker 2: well a lot of people and Vermont don't have.
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: You know who? Do you know? Who? You did? You
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: know who? Just great stuff with with eyes.
- 1:27:33Speaker 2: And that's him saying no, the Lions Club, man, they
- 1:27:37Speaker 2: really amazing stuff.
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: Man. If you have, you know, an old pair of
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: glasses laying around, get it over to optical expressions and
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: they give it. You can donate there, and then optical
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: Expressions gives it to the Lion's Club and they repurpose
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: glasses nice, which is I think is so I mean
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: they do that with hearing it's too whichah Sherlyn says,
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: I need to you do really yeah, but they also
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: do that with glasses, which is so important. It's so great,
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: and they've been doing this for like one hundred years. Yeah,
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: well you need hearing aids for sure.
- 1:28:15Speaker 2: Really yeah, you said what Yeah, because I used to
- 1:28:18Speaker 2: think it was selective hearing with you, but no, you
- 1:28:22Speaker 2: just don't hear anything.
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:28:24Speaker 2: Yeah, it was selective at one point it was, but
- 1:28:27Speaker 2: now biological yeah yeah. And then on top of that,
- 1:28:31Speaker 2: you also need common sense lessons. I've heard this before, Yeah,
- 1:28:36Speaker 2: because like when we were on the cruise, Oh my god,
- 1:28:39Speaker 2: you couldn't do anything without asking forrest.
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: You were like, Charlyn, where's the bathroom? I need to go?
- 1:28:44Speaker 2: She's like, really, you can't use your eyes and find it?
- 1:28:48Speaker 2: Or Charlyn, what are we doing now?
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: JD?
- 1:28:50Speaker 2: I just told you what we're gonna be doing. Okay, Well,
- 1:28:53Speaker 2: what was it? So you kind of need your attention
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: deficit needs to be tightened.
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: Up a little bit, do you remember her yelling at
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: me on the cruise. Do you know anything about what's
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: going on?
- 1:29:05Speaker 2: Do you know anything that's going on?
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: Anything? Yeah?
- 1:29:09Speaker 2: One thing?
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: Yeah? Do you even know where we're going for dinner tonight?
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: Do you even know? Yeah? I didn't think so. Yeah, yeah, yep,
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: I know. Patty wants to spend the day with you. Okay,
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: we can do that. Where are we going? She'll figure
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: it out.
- 1:29:26Speaker 2: Yeah, we can't shop and barry, so we're gonna have
- 1:29:29Speaker 2: to go somewhere else if we want to have like
- 1:29:30Speaker 2: a little noch and something to you know, quench out
- 1:29:33Speaker 2: thirst and then do a little shopping.
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: I ticked Patty off last fall, and I hope she's
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: forgiven me.
- 1:29:40Speaker 2: Well, clearly she's forgiven you because she's not that shallow.
- 1:29:46Speaker 2: That's the one thing I do like about my friends
- 1:29:48Speaker 2: is we don't hold grudges. Yeah, you know, there's so
- 1:29:51Speaker 2: many people out there at a hotel grudge.
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: Yeah. I was pissed and then yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: yeah yeah.
- 1:30:03Speaker 2: Look, all the ranting and everything else, it's all good,
- 1:30:07Speaker 2: and sometimes it's good to get it out, and especially
- 1:30:10Speaker 2: when I'm speaking what everybody's thinking. But on top of that,
- 1:30:14Speaker 2: you know, life is good. You know, I always say
- 1:30:18Speaker 2: when you wake up six feet on the ground and
- 1:30:21Speaker 2: not under Yeah, life is good. And the medical things,
- 1:30:25Speaker 2: you know, we keep working at it and if it
- 1:30:27Speaker 2: takes us down, it takes us down.
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: But then you rely on your friends.
- 1:30:32Speaker 2: And people to be there for you. You know, when
- 1:30:36Speaker 2: I was going through my stuff a couple of weeks ago,
- 1:30:39Speaker 2: you were like, dude, I will come deliver free of
- 1:30:42Speaker 2: charge anything you need today, only free of charge. You
- 1:30:45Speaker 2: would always joke about that, And then the other day
- 1:30:48Speaker 2: when you weren't feeling well, you said, I'm not feeling well.
- 1:30:51Speaker 2: I don't think I'm going to do the show today.
- 1:30:52Speaker 2: And getting back in bed, the first thing I said
- 1:30:54Speaker 2: was what do you need? Do you need anything?
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: You know what that is? But we do. I think
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: a lot of people thought that I had a stomach bug,
- 1:31:04Speaker 1: you know what that was what? Honestly, I'm chalking it
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: up to just dehydration. Yeah, that could really mess you up.
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: And I'm one that generally pushes water pretty good, right,

- 1:31:22Speaker 2: When you were doing oxy codeine, which stays in your
- 1:31:25Speaker 2: system for a while, So if you haven't done it
- 1:31:27Speaker 2: in a few days, it starts to flush through and
- 1:31:30Speaker 2: your body has to adjust to that. You've got foreign
- 1:31:33Speaker 2: matter in your body. You're running around all over the place,
- 1:31:36Speaker 2: You're working with clients who need a friend. You know,

- 1:31:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:31:46Speaker 2: You know, I've always been so busy, but recently, the

- 1:31:57Speaker 2: do instead of saying, well, I feel nauseous, but I'm
- 1:32:00Speaker 2: going to go out anyway. Yeah, that only makes it worse.

- 1:32:46Speaker 2: and you got to listen to your body. When your
- 1:32:48Speaker 2: body is losing too much weight, yeah, you got to
- 1:32:51Speaker 2: pay attention to that. When your body's gaining too much weight,
- 1:32:53Speaker 2: you got to pay attention. If your body's tired for
- 1:32:56Speaker 2: the day and you've got.
