- 0:00[SPEAKER_03]: Welcome live to the Big Play Cleveland show presented by Fan Dueles as Jack will work alongside Max Loeb and Chef Zay and guys for the first time and it seems like forever We have real live on the grid.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_03]: I earned Cleveland Brown stuff all to talk about Zay or throw it up So let's get right out into and we're gonna talk about some Cleveland headlines here presented by smart choice best, but Zay
- 0:21[SPEAKER_03]: Shidorah Sanders to Sean Watson, the battle wages on, Shidorah Sanders came with the interception, Dylan Gabriel threw an interception on Saturday to Sean Watson.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_03]: No interceptions would did have a fumble knocked out a turnover that went the other way for the defense.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_03]: What were your guys?
- 0:35[SPEAKER_03]: I'm gonna throw it a question.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_03]: This is even not near.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_03]: We're gonna start out with a question, so don't let your guys give me one word to describe each of the quarterbacks to Sean and Shidorah's performance on Saturday.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_01]: Mm, Shidorah will go.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, tough tough.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that was a good word tough.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_01]: We'll go tough because he started out hot and then I go we're going one word, but tough and then to shine I'll go there.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_01]: I say surprising I like that.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_02]: I think I think just Sean I'll go with
- 1:12[SPEAKER_02]: encouraging.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_02]: Who?
- 1:14[SPEAKER_02]: I like encouraging from the Sean Watson.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_02]: Shador, that's tough.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_02]: Tough.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_02]: That's not going to use tough.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_02]: No, because I didn't think it was that bad, but I think this is a UGH tough for a FF tough.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_01]: UGH for sure.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_01]: If there was a tough.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_01]: I'm saying it's tough to like even it's given my word.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_01]: That's why I kind of went with tough because it wasn't really fair.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_01]: We talked about it every show like,
- 1:39[SPEAKER_01]: You get to see these guys.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_01]: It's a different.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_01]: It's a night and a difference when you got KC Boston and those guys like when you're throwing to I mean granted Luke Flurry a friend of the show Yeah great catch games are for that great catch, but like after that That's why it's yeah, like and then you're may not get to see it again this week.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_02]: That's tough Yeah, I'm trying to find one word to encapsulate Some good some bad and then the maybe a friend polarizing
- 2:04[SPEAKER_02]: Great word.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_02]: I think that is a great way around the lot of shores.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, polarizing for sure.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_02]: And I'll push it to two words.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if that's allowed unnecessarily polarizing.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_02]: It was what a quarter and a half or a quarter of preseason football that got some good things, had some bad things.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_02]: But we were just like throwing in the towel on some of it and then we're saying we need to start on the other side of it.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_02]: Like we got to relax you a little bit.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'm going to since we kind of tag team that I'm going to hop on your answer of polarizing force should or because I do kind of your answer too, that's it.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_03]: That's it.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_03]: That's it.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_03]: That's it.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to do a little bit.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_03]: I think for just Sean, I'm going to go a little different than you guys.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_03]: So if you kind of get into this quarterback battle here on the big play Cleveland.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to say, I mean, I know, okay, there was good moments and the stats don't look bad at all, but like, average depth of target, four, four and a half yards.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_03]: Last year, the millisecond Dylan Gabriel did that.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_03]: Everyone their mother was talking out to the Dylan Gabriel for the exact same thing.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_03]: And yeah, like, is it nice to see that just Sean through 115 passing yards in a quarter when he was struggling to get 170 in full games?
- 3:12[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but like you do and again, hey, I'm not I'm not blaming the guy for throwing a 50-yard completed screen to Dylan Samson that it looked all too All those to move down the field, but like they all out of the yards coming that way I think that the Pumpkin kind of became a carriage again a bit in the second quarter, but so I was a little bit lower on Deshawn Watson kind when it came to the first preseason game Where do you guys kind of respond to that though?
- 3:33[SPEAKER_03]: Okay?
- 3:33[SPEAKER_03]: Am I wrong for being a little bit too low on Deshawn should I be Treening it more as more of a oh he looked okay for the first time in forever.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_03]: This is good
- 3:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think it's like the where I said encouraging like I think you watched that and I've noticed a theme in camp and in that game like as soon as something went wrong It was the strip sack.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_02]: He missed the underneath throughout a case.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_02]: He can set up your own.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_02]: We watched maybe in the first practice open to media about a month ago He threw a bad pick and then arguably throw worse pick the next play.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_02]: So like once things go wrong I have found a tends to snowball if you can improve upon that.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_02]: I think it becomes more encouraging but like up to that
- 4:08[SPEAKER_02]: I get the average step of targeting if he's checking the ball down, but he's also taking with the defense as giving him, which I think is very, very important.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_02]: And if you have a complimentary run game, which like it wasn't awesome, I didn't think the run game, but again, it's not.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_02]: week one of the regular season.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_02]: You got to see how that plays out.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_02]: But if you have a complimentary run game and a team across from you is sitting in a ton of zone, really outside the third downs.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_02]: It was a lot of zone from the bears.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_02]: You take what's given.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_02]: I thought he was on time with his throws too.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_02]: That was a big difference between him and Shidorah Sanders, at least what I noticed.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_02]: I thought Shidorah was a little bit late on some of the throws.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_02]: Didn't come back to bite him much, but I thought the show almost on time getting the ball out quick, which is really what you want from a quarterback if he's
- 4:47[SPEAKER_02]: seen a defense that's keeping everything in front of them bending and operating.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_02]: I think the average depth of target to me wasn't a huge deal based on what the bears were doing Yeah, you should door was even ask the question and he said what was your best throne?
- 4:59[SPEAKER_01]: He was like the one check down that I had because sometimes that's the best option that you can take I mean we watch Tom Brady when seven super bowls
- 5:06[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's not like it's a bad thing.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's very like we underrate things and overrate things all the time and I'm one of those guys where I just love to give credit where credit is due.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_01]: We've had to shine Watson for how many years now for a lot.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_01]: This is like the fourth year, right?
- 5:25[SPEAKER_01]: We've seen him with all these things.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_01]: And everyone goes, oh, well, there was a 40 yard screen past it.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, why didn't we see it the first three time?
- 5:32[SPEAKER_01]: He's never thrown for a hundred yards as a brown.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_01]: No matter who, no matter how it was done, like the first time he gets in some action with Todd and munking, you're telling, that that's encouraging his health.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_03]: And then I think, let me spin his own US system though.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_03]: Is this, should this be more encouraging about what Todd Munkin is bringing to the fold in Cleveland or about to Sean Watson?
- 5:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, both because you want to know why for the first time I ever saw this like it was the we saw what we traded for in terms of the person Desha and Watson and that interview with a D.D.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_01]: Kikabala he was smiling he was happy he was in like I'm like I'm watching this interview I'm like this might be the first time we've ever seen Desha and Watson smile in front of a camera and I'm like
- 6:20[SPEAKER_01]: All things aside play on the field included when you traded for Deshan Watts in the 230 million dollar quarterback you were hoping to get that type of person in that locker room.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_01]: The free guy and I think who else was the other person someone else another reporter came on it said it was the first time they felt like.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_01]: he was free as well.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_01]: And I think when you get that edge is the most Cleveland Brown thing ever because we're going to have this conversation if he comes out here and balls out at the end of the year.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_01]: But like that was the guy that you kind of tried to for.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_01]: Not even the play.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_01]: Just the person.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_03]: Max, where do you kind of sit on how much of that is what time one can's bringing in versus maybe just showing knocking stuff off?
- 6:56[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's more munken to be honest, from what I noticed in the practices that I watched, the first team offense regardless of who his quarterback was excelling.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_02]: So that to me is maybe it's not munken entirely, like maybe it's the receivers who I'm sure we'll talk about, maybe it's the offensive line improving, whatever it may be.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_02]: But the starting offense, that's what I found was the common variable in practice, and really the preseason game against the bears, even though it's limited limited snaps, that has been the common variable.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_02]: It's a different system.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_02]: I think the running back, past game usage is really, really nice to see as well in everybody's like, oh, yo.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_02]: The Shafordia, whatever, Deshawn's yards came from screen pass.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that's part of the month and offense that's what he does.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_02]: I also think that's utilizing Dylan Samson to a different degree.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_02]: But I think it's a mix of things, but I honestly do think it's more munkin' than to Sean Watson.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_02]: It's coaching, you know, check downs lead to touchdowns, keeping everything in front of you, not getting behind the chains.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_02]: That's partially coaching as well as to Sean Watson.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_02]: So I think it's more munkin' than anything, but it's not like, you know, munkin' was the reason to Sean had 100 whatever yards in the quarter, like, to Sean looked good.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_03]: So guys, if that's all we got.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_03]: So obviously we are lucky that we live in a world that we're going to talk about the joint practices and next two preseason games coming up, especially the Phil Taylor, when he joins at 1230 here on Big Play Cleveland Live.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_03]: But guys, one important thing is look at what we have seen so far.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_03]: Because we have gotten a game on the field now.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_03]: If you're only judging off what you've seen through training camp and through preseason game one, we're not factoring in the bills, and I've seen this as if Sans are about to hit my grandma.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_03]: Well, what is her off always say right if my grandma had this?
- 8:30[SPEAKER_03]: She'd be my dad or I'd give you a video.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_03]: If my grandma had wheelchair wheelchair, he's got a ton of phrases like that, who would be the starting quarterback to the Cleveland Browns today if you guys were making that call and you had to pick it today?
- 8:43[SPEAKER_02]: This is still a double sided question for me because there's still two different answers I think I'm with you I think if you know from what we've seen the past four or five years like if I was Todd monkey and I had the opportunity I want to Completely see what I have in my young quarterbacks on the roster So like that that's the direction I would go I think the Browns will start to shine watching 100% with you and I honestly think we talked about a two months ago or so where we were like
- 9:11[SPEAKER_02]: The Sean Watson probably it's his job to lose like he probably has to mess up pretty bad in order to lose the starting job he did the opposite of that against the bears I thought and even in camp like there were some bad days he had some good days as well like I didn't think there was enough where I was watching camp where I'm like yeah to Sean Watson is
- 9:28[SPEAKER_02]: losing the job day after day after day.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_02]: No, I don't think that happened.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_02]: So I think if I was in Todd Monk and shoes, I probably would lean a different direction just based on the trajectory of the team where I think those players are going.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_02]: As well as I know you guys don't like what I talked about the next draft class, but like that quarterback class again.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_02]: That's a reality.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_02]: It's a reality.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_02]: There's a reason the Browns wanted to get another first round pick this year, but regardless.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_03]: That's probably the direction I would go even though I don't think it's the direction they will go That yeah, I don't think he took the words right on my mouth and put it on a platter So Moving forward into the joint practice is kind of important this week and then getting buffed low this upcoming weekend And looking at yours chances overall on the battle because again like we said like what we want to do is necessarily what the Cleveland Browns are going to end up doing in the national football I'll think this season guys
- 10:16[SPEAKER_03]: Is there a world where shore sanders can go out there this weekend at home and from the fans everyone's loud I would have to venture to bet most people probably want to see shore sanders out there and do enough or maybe to Sean Does this part to maybe not look so great as well?
- 10:32[SPEAKER_03]: Where this thing kind of levels back out and evens out before week one like what is there?
- 10:35[SPEAKER_03]: What are the percentage percentage chances you guys give that should or could actually start week one can it be done if he has a big weekend?
- 10:42[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you need that one word to happen that I'm not trying to put out there to happen.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_02]: I think so too.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_02]: And I also, I'll give like a 5% chance.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_01]: Like I, so let me ask you, you know what the shan is?
- 10:53[SPEAKER_01]: The shan is that top character or motor combat, he could lose, but you got to get their first and then you have to beat him on top of that.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_01]: Like if you can beat him cool, but the chances of that on expert mode is what 5% like you said.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_01]: So that's a good decision.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_03]: If you guys are sitting at 5% and obviously it's a quarterback value, you're not going to call it.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_03]: He's saying that's a bad.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_03]: Isn't a battle, maybe it's not a battle that's kind of where I'm going to hit that if you, you're a little bit.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_03]: If it's 5% if it's a 5% chance, I have 100 that's yours.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_03]: It's the week one quarterback.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_03]: Why do you not rip the bandaid off and name the Sean Watson right now?
- 11:28[SPEAKER_01]: I think they're kind of doing that.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_01]: I think they're at that point where it's like, you know where you get that first, ah, the hairs.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_01]: And then by the time you're doing it, you're like, you already ripped most of the band aid off.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_01]: Like, they're kind of prepping us that it's already been started with the JB comments way back before, right?
- 11:46[SPEAKER_01]: fast forward to now they cut there's those little whistles of well it looks like all of the starters are going to get all the the practice uh in the joint practice not the game and we before the show we kind of had the little backstory back top with 20 each other where it was just like it's kind of just like how are we supposed to evaluate should or like how are we supposed to sit here and be like you know what
- 12:05[SPEAKER_01]: We get to look at the Sean with the ones in KC and Harold Fanon and Q like we should be able to see the Sean if this was a legitimate battle.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_01]: But again, that word battle keeps me in throne around here and I really just think it's a one way battle.
- 12:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's not a two way battle like we first were led on to be and maybe the band aid is just almost off.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_01]: We just got to get through this week essentially, which is that little.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_03]: that last little back piece you know say we we have learned I've said that sure standards are starting this game against the buffalo bills how much do you think we see to Sean with this run with the second team if at all so do you think it would be more of a give to Sean the week off and then it's shoulder Dylan tailon or do you think we still see to Sean but we get a chance to see him with the larvae dance in Floria's of the world it's it's tough
- 12:50[SPEAKER_01]: I would still want to see him.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_01]: And if I'm to Sean, I would still want to see it too.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_01]: Like I wouldn't want as many live reps like would you?
- 12:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_02]: If I was to Sean, I don't think I would.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_01]: If for the one reason that you said when things when things start to crumble a little bit, I need to take a couple more hits.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_01]: I need to make sure that if I throw it completely past like it's not going to be a routine that this whole thing continues to crumble.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_03]: I like I feel like I want to get clubbed to death by KT love true, but you know there was a positive side.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_01]: He did get hit in the ankle And I think I wanted to play so it's like I just want to make sure
- 13:24[SPEAKER_01]: that he can take it.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 13:26[SPEAKER_01]: Like it's still he still had a whole year old yet again.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_01]: So this is the second time we have to watch him have a whole year out.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_01]: You're telling me that we're going to base all of these things.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_01]: And if you were, it is a quarterback battle dog, keep the reps the same way.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_01]: Don't go out your way.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_01]: Don't deviate from nothing.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_01]: Keep your word.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_01]: Give the shan the same type of reps that you was given should door.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_01]: If this is how you're really going about the battle.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_01]: And if we don't see it, that goes right into the pool where this was never really a battle to begin with.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_01]: Because it's showing you right in front of
- 13:55[SPEAKER_02]: I think we're a little too black and white with this thing.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_02]: I think there's a lot of gray.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_02]: Like I think there's absolutely a world, well, let me backtrack if, to what we're talking about.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_02]: If I'm to Sean Watson, I don't know if I necessarily want to be asked to play with the twos.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_01]: That's fair.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if I want to, especially if I feel like I've, you know, earned a starting spot.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_02]: I think there's 100% a world where you get off the show seems like every time we get out the show some news breaks, but like before the game that the Sean Watson is named the starter.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_02]: That would clarify things in the room.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_02]: If there's any trade interest, you got weeks to do it instead of a week or two before the season, right?
- 14:31[SPEAKER_02]: I think there's absolutely a real chance that happens.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_02]: I also think if you're looking at this quarterback battle, I think it truly was in camp and I think it truly
- 14:40[SPEAKER_02]: would at, because I think it's still going on technically.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_02]: But like it was up until week one of the preseason, and you basically gave to Sean Watts in the opportunity, and we're like, don't mess this up right now.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_02]: He didn't, like he didn't mess it at all.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_02]: And that to me is like, okay, we can believe in this guy in X amount of snaps, this amount of action in a real football game.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_02]: Now,
- 15:01[SPEAKER_02]: Do they ask the same of Shidorah?
- 15:03[SPEAKER_02]: Shidorah is very likely going to start the Saturday and see, okay, like, we gave to Sean as let's see what you can do.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_02]: Can it be better?
- 15:09[SPEAKER_02]: Can it be worse?
- 15:10[SPEAKER_02]: I still find it hard to believe that even if it's like 20 times better, they're just going to lean Shidorah Sanders after a half of preseason football.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_02]: Like I think it again was given to Sean, or to Sean was given an opportunity and said, don't mess this up, and I don't think he did.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_02]: So I think there absolutely was a battle that battle is a real thing was a real thing to Sean Watson just didn't mess it up to the point where she doorstanders, at least in the Brown's eyes, should start week one.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_02]: I think there's a lot of gray area where it's like, oh, this was,
- 15:37[SPEAKER_02]: this never a battle or it was always going to be to Sean.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_02]: It was hit.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_02]: I think always going to be his job to lose, but he didn't lose it.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_02]: I think that is partially it credit to him throughout the the off season as well.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_01]: Because this also just be a vet thing.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_01]: Like he's a vet.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to trust the vet.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_01]: We got another similar situation.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_01]: I don't say this is a complete similar, but then it's so to just brought in Kyler Murray and was like, you know what, a guy that we thought was going to be the future.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_01]: No, you go sit your ass down and we don't let Kyle and Murray take this trip.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_01]: So it's like, is there something to it?
- 16:06[SPEAKER_01]: Is it a respected thing in the league?
- 16:07[SPEAKER_01]: Like, there has to be something that we're looking at because it would be a little bit different conversation if JJ McCarthy comes away with that job, right?
- 16:15[SPEAKER_01]: There are a lot of,
- 16:16[SPEAKER_01]: bad punnings about against some saying that he's not this he's not that and you're going to lose out the collar Maria guy who you we've talked about on this show countless times a who could still potentially be that guy could it be a simple last he's a vet until the vet shows that it ain't worth it no more we're going to ride with them.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_03]: Max, I got to ask you guys now because you brought up the T-word and anytime the T-word comes up in store services in the conversation, we got to talk about it on the show.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_03]: You mentioned that if you do name that quarterback and it happens to be the Sean Lost and what is obviously it's looking more and more like by the day, probably will be the case to your Cleveland Browns.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_03]: Who do you guys think as of right now August 18th, 2026, you have our lower 12th, 17 PM will be the quarterback left out.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_03]: Or is it or is it they take four quarterbacks?
- 16:57[SPEAKER_01]: There's no way to say four.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know like every time I think about the odd man out and the odd man out I think is Dylan Gabriel can you find a trade partner if you can't are you gonna cut the guy a year after you drafted him a third round like that to me is Really really tough to believe.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_02]: I think should or we'll be the backup if the shan is the starter like I think a lot of the trade speculation is Overblown, but I think it partially is real like I think there could be a trade with a backup quarterback
- 17:24[SPEAKER_02]: I watch to a play in the preseason there's questions with Michael Penex's health like I still think as weird as it is to be like oh, Stephanski go get your guy left the quarterback like I absolutely think there's a very very logical overlap there I still think the odd man out if it feels like Dylan Gabriel it feels like Dylan Gabriel you got three bigger righty quarterbacks and one smaller lefty quarterback even though his athleticism is I honestly think underrated Dylan Gabriel
- 17:53[SPEAKER_02]: I think those guys fit the system and they're all very similar in terms of their not play style but literally they're building the hand they throw it.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_02]: So I think that is also a thing.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_01]: If they if they trade should or say and there's their their basically how do I want to put this there there's
- 18:12[SPEAKER_01]: They're Cleveland Browning in a way.
- 18:14[SPEAKER_01]: And what I mean by that is, oh, run, run, and complete pass point.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_01]: Like they're basically prepping to punt.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_01]: You know the draws coming.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_01]: You know there's no misdirection on the next play.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_01]: You know they're gonna go check down to the tight end for a third and 12 and be five yards short.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_01]: And that's basically, that's what I get if they trade should or because then you know everything's gonna be geared to next year and getting that quarterback.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_01]: You see, Dylan has to be the odd man out.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_01]: Let's just call them.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_01]: Let's just say, like, cutting tail and green makes absolutely no sense.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_01]: He fits the prototype for Todd Monkin and everything that he wants in a quarterback.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_01]: Go, Kev, what are we doing here?
- 18:58[SPEAKER_01]: go get your damn yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

- 19:52[SPEAKER_03]: Welcome back to Big Play Cleveland Live, Jack O'Rourke alongside the disembodied voices, chef's say, Max Loeb and Phil Taylor, welcoming and Cleveland Brown's legend, defensive lineman, Phil Taylor to today's show, Phil, I set it when we welcomed Max and Zay on the show earlier.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_03]: It is nice that we can finally talk about real football being played on the field, no crazy hypotheticals and theoreticals.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_03]: We got actual stuff we can talk about now, but Phil, first we can talk about is a choreograph competition, what you saw out of those guys over the weekend.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_03]: What were the biggest, I guess, strengths, weaknesses, surprises, things you weren't surprised by that you saw on the Browns quarterbacks.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, I would say the lack of, I would say before in the beginning of the game and more more so for the shine was the lack of throwing a ball down field.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_00]: You know, he threw what 22 times and the most he threw for with 10 yards or something like that.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, come on, you got to push, we got to push the ball down field and there was a couple
- 20:53[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's more so getting his time in back, you know, he's been out of football for some time, getting his time in back, and because it was on one play, he threw it to the Titan 86 or whoever was.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_01]: Like, yeah.
- 21:05[SPEAKER_00]: And then Boston was open coming across, if he would hit Boston, I think Boston would've got 20, 30 yards on that play.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_00]: but uh... you know the timing and uh... i think should or he looked well for for for what he had and uh... will see i think uh... this this week i don't know how they're going to do it but they probably do another two halves again you know uh... the shunna play the first and should do a play the second half but uh... so they're going to should doors going to start the announced for this this one so least he'll go first
- 21:38[SPEAKER_03]: they haven't said anything about to Sean's reps though, right?
- 21:40[SPEAKER_03]: No.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_03]: No.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_03]: So the only only thing we know is Shoulder is going first.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_03]: We don't know anything past that.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's also a street could be a strategic thing if they were to name them.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_02]: I want to see some tail and green too.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_03]: Let me ask you about that then because I think that is interesting.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_03]: All that where we did get to see Dylan feel a bit at the end after Shoulder through his interceptions.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_03]: How tough is it if you're a rookie coming into the I mean doesn't matter to your quarterback if you're a defensive lineman anything and you're like not getting the reps You need off off the rip like how much is that stunt your development outside of like the normal.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_03]: Hey, I'm coming in six to round pick just trying to find my footing in the NFL
- 22:14[SPEAKER_00]: It's tough as a six round pick you might be looking at the play a lot anyway, but he might if anything hit play a lot the third preseason game You know, you know back in my time it was the fourth preseason game where all the the bubble guys they're gonna play the whole game basically
- 22:32[SPEAKER_00]: But I hope they give them some time, maybe this next game, but most likely in the third game.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_00]: And it'll make a break you, you know, you get out there and the limited reps you get, you got to make it your best because if it ain't, you know, good play on film, you know, is 31 other teams over there, and you know, might be checking you off their list.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_01]: I want to ask you as a player, like, because you brought up the the Sean Watson didn't throw 10 yards down field thing.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_01]: And I've talked about it plenty of times we're in practice.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_01]: There's two main differences that I see between Shador and Watson.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_01]: And it's that one quarterback has explosive plays seems like routinely.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_01]: And the other one is routinely just taking what the defense is and whether it's underneath, throwing it away or whatever the case may be.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_01]: in the preseason game.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_01]: Blueheat won the Gaze for I believe was on a, on a, like a 10 yard out.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_01]: He got 15 yards and then we had the Luke Floria across the middle.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_01]: As a player do you want more explosive plays or do you just want the quarterback to get you down the field anyway?
- 23:40[SPEAKER_01]: But like how do you feel as a player looking at him be like damn what you're doing this month?
- 23:44[SPEAKER_01]: Like we got we got a 30-hour bomb here.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_01]: We got we got that jolt of energy.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, or they almost just like okay We paper cuts by death by thousand paper cuts.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_01]: It works.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_01]: It can work.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_01]: What do you prefer as a player?
- 23:56[SPEAKER_00]: If you went in, it don't matter.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_01]: That's so, if he went in his game and Deshawn Stattline is that, are you okay with it?
- 24:04[SPEAKER_01]: Or did he want the performer?
- 24:05[SPEAKER_00]: It's preseason, you know, he only played the first half.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, it's more to tell if he was a, you know, played the whole game, but like I said, and we're getting it.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't like it, you know, he threw it 22 times and none of them were more than 10 yards.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_00]: So I feel like they might have had him on a, you know,
- 24:24[SPEAKER_00]: You know, dummy down, you know, play, play system or whatever whereas like, you know, it's just a bunch of check downs and stuff, but at the same time, do your vet, you know, look for that big play.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_03]: Phil I wanted to ask you one thing that I think is just kind of popped up over and over again with this quarterback battle that I think that people like me like hey I I never had to call a plan and I felt before I don't understand what it's like at all whatsoever right like how difficult is it for these guys to get to the line and make those calls and get the guys set up right and what is like the very like like
- 24:55[SPEAKER_03]: Why shouldn't matter so much that Dylan Gabriel may be way better at it than the guy like sure Sanders or vice versa like how important is it truly to be able to get up to the line and set guys like is there that much of a gap between the guy who's the best in the league at doing it and the guy who has no clue what's going on?
- 25:11[SPEAKER_00]: I mean it takes a lot of intelligence like they say QB is probably the hardest position and professional football to play because of how much work you need and knowledge you need of you know offense and who you're going to get some defense so man it's tough you know but
- 25:32[SPEAKER_00]: If you lack in, you know, coming up to the line and making calls and stuff like that, but your play shows otherwise and you're making plays when it counts, you really can, you know, you can go get past that, but if you're, you know, messing up with the line and not, you know, making the correct calls and stuff like that, and it shows in the game, you throwing pigs, you know, you're not going to be around long.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_03]: So kind of moving it a little bit off of the quarterback's moving it to the offense in general.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_03]: Max one guy who I saw you were light in the sky up in a positive way on Twitter.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_03]: And he was actually was Spencer Fano after his play in the first.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_03]: Fano.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_01]: Fano, Spencer Fano.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_01]: I've been getting yelled at every day.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_01]: Confirm Spencer Fano and one of the fun fun fun F.A.W.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_01]: and no Fano I've been getting yelled at We'll be writing the pronunciation guy in the Cleveland ground The Cleveland ground's be the guy No, because I made it Thank you, and it's very wrong No, because one of the finals I don't know if it was a cousin or something He was like thank you for saying the name right after like the third or fourth video I finally got I'm like I met no disrespect I truly didn't I didn't I thought it was Fano Then I thought it was Fano It's Fano
- 26:44[SPEAKER_03]: Spencer Fondo, so Philip first four year thoughts on as a defensive lime and like I just see you've gotten to go up against a number of big tackles Or I guess lime and really in your life.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_00]: Well your thoughts on how the kid played I think he did really well For the first preseason game, you know it's a lot to you can we can tell but as a group as a whole line I don't think they did as well as I thought they would do and and the new online.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think
- 27:10[SPEAKER_00]: there as good as I thought they would be right now.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's time for them to jail and learn things, but the first outing, you know, it's the first outing together, you know, they're gonna make mistakes.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_00]: It just didn't look well.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I know they're gonna, you know, go back to the drawing board and get things right and we'll see you next week.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_03]: And Max, there is, I saw some people kind of going back at you in the comments and the replies on Twitter, like, oh, his PFF grade was only there against the run against the best.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_03]: What did you see out of Spencer Fano that you loved this, this past week?
- 27:40[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I'll preface by saying it is not, you know, Miles Garrett TJ, while all those guys on the other side, primarily was Austin Booker, who had a few sacks last year.
- 27:48[SPEAKER_02]: It's not like he's a bench warmer, but it wasn't even Montez sweat, like it's not a truly elite pasture.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_02]: But I mean, he was giving no ground in pass reduction like there's there's tackles that will prevent a pressure and keep the quarterback upright and they're like, let's say this far right Spencer Fano was anchoring down incredibly incredibly well and was providing like yards of space for the Sean Watson just on that side alone again.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_02]: It's Austin Booker, it's not Michael Parsons out there, but there was minimal of any success in a pure past rush setting.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_02]: I do think the offensive line has all looked not great.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_02]: I think they could have run block the lot better.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_02]: And Spencer Fano was solid in that area, but it was a literal brick wall anytime there was a one-on-one past rush on his side.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_02]: Like we're talking yards of space for the shot walls and which I loved to see.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_02]: And that's exactly what you want from your blind side protector.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_01]: There is one thing I want to see with Spencer and that's we've got a lot of we know he can dog a bull rush.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_01]: We've seen it with Jared verse.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_01]: We've seen it now with the bears and it's almost feeling like it's we don't want him to become a one trick pony to only be able to stop the bull rush.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_01]: I want to see him again some some more athletic like.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_01]: the miles geared aspect of it would be nice to see if you can handle a guy who's twitchy who can bend a little bit more instead of just taking a bull res.
- 29:07[SPEAKER_01]: But if you want to thank you about the bull res Spencer, you got another thing, Tom, because he's eating all that up.
- 29:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and it was a a bigger body guy in Austin Booker who was rushing him like you're not again, it's not like a Micah Parsons or a quicker twitchy or guy off the edge.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not convinced we're really going to see it if he plays much against the buffalo bills.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, they have some
- 29:31[SPEAKER_02]: not a great season, but I don't know if we're going to see that true elite edged rusher on the outside quick twitchy guy.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_02]: Probably until week one and then certainly about this and by fire week one against those Jaguars defense events.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_02]: So I think that is absolutely a call it not a cause for concern with something to pay attention to for sure for sure.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_03]: And Phil, when you're going up against the god he might know is a rookie or a young guy, is there any like certain weakness that you try to look to exploit right away or is it like a, you go up against him for the first couple of times, kind of feel a mound and then go from there.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_00]: going as a rookie is interesting you know depending on you know where they're from and things like that and you know how good they actually were in college and what you do you do your scout tape and you'll pick up some things because you know being a rookie you're still gonna have a lot of carry over from things you used to do in college that you suppose to change when you get to the pros you know and you can pick up on certain things
- 30:29[SPEAKER_00]: You know, maybe they you know putting a little bit more weight down on their hands before the snap if it's a run You know, they light it if it's a fast things like that that the switch up more the old do you get and things like that But uh Tipping pictures and baseball.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_03]: I never knew that before that's so cool.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, just like in it with a center A good tell-tell when he's about to snap the ball you can see him start the squeeze the ball.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_00]: I harder You know what I mean things like that
- 30:56[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I never know.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_03]: No, that's pretty cool.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_03]: And it's a real good thing on the offensive line.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_03]: The one that flew like, I need to think before.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_03]: So we're going to ask a question.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_03]: That's pretty cool of regardless.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_03]: When we talk about this Browns' line, I kind of opened the Florida all three of you guys on this year, we all talked about how like, hey, probably wasn't exactly what you'd love to see early on.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_03]: Like, if you look at like, Judd kids and even Samson, the earlier part, like the rushing totals, probably weren't as like, God use you to hope for, probably like, off rep preseason week one.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_03]: How difficult is it for a new online to gel together and try and like ban when you only have what probably Seven more drives to do it before you're doing it for real in front of a different football team with the lights for america on you I mean, I feel you could speak better than any of us on that.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I would say
- 31:44[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I've always been around where we had more of a, you know, put together online and it's like guys have been there.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't really know, you know, how quick it would take for a whole new online jail.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_00]: Then that's what we're doing now.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_00]: But it's football, you know, you, you pay to do a certain thing.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_00]: And you got to do it at the end of the day because if you ain't going to do it, they're going to find somebody else that will.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, clear the bears are clearly worse.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_01]: I'll be right.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, really.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they did it last year.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think the one thing that's going to be scary would are offensive line and we kind of got a small glimpse of it.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_01]: There was one position that was up for grabs on the offensive line and it was the right guard position.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_01]: And we just let go one of our right guards who was playing that position.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_01]: And it feels like because they are new, one little seat in that wall is going to make that thing crumble a little bit more faster than we would probably like it.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't know if we can afford to have that.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 32:41[SPEAKER_01]: Like, especially with the new offensive line.
- 32:43[SPEAKER_01]: So it would be nice to see everyone compliment each other a little bit better.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_01]: But I just got this weird feeling that four through five may look good, but there'll be one little thing that that flexi taping on be able to fix and it's going to make the entire offensive line look better as a whole.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I worry about the depth for sure on the inside, at least, on the screen.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_02]: What's what's good.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_02]: And I haven't seen a lot of Browns fans talk about it.
- 33:05[SPEAKER_02]: It is the fact that if God forbid starting left tackle Spencer Fauna or starting right tackle, tightest Howard, go down.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_02]: Your next guy up is a swing tackle into Juan Jones who's comfortable doing both.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_02]: And he was playing with the threes and fours.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_02]: Which again, I'd be shocked if he didn't make the roster.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's too talented, not too, but they see some things we don't who knows.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_02]: But the interior of that offensive line is terrifying me, like terrifying to me.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_02]: I really, really worry about the guys between the tackles.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_02]: If somebody were to go down, if they had to make a change, and yeah, you talked about the right guard, there was a position battle there.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_02]: I trust Zion Johnson, I trust Elton Jenkins, that Browns very clearly do as well,
- 33:46[SPEAKER_02]: But I mean, man, it's it's a tough spot at that right garden if any of those interior guys go down.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_02]: There's going to have to be some shuffling.
- 33:53[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, out of jackets can play guard or center.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe Zion Johnson could switch sides like that.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_02]: That to me is.
- 33:58[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I want to ask you guys about that then.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_03]: Be using again.
- 34:01[SPEAKER_03]: This is the the Jack O'Rourke.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_03]: Ask Madden.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, you're suggesting way to re-shuffle the offensive line.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_03]: Duh, how'd you not think of this?
- 34:08[SPEAKER_03]: But like.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_03]: in a way after adding Parker Brails for him like it seems like he's uh when he's been healthy and out there like has done well for the Brown so far to the point where they were talking about him even like being in contention to maybe be on the starting line as a center if they wanted to put out in Jenkins at a guard spot just having him make you feel better at all like knowing that okay like if we need to or like if Zion Johnson ever went down you can throw Jenkins there like if Tevin Jenkins ends up being more of like a should be your
- 34:33[SPEAKER_03]: rotational attack like like a swing guard or tap with ever you know like do you have any more this braids for that added add anything for you then I guess it would have a blue whiplier would have panned out I mean loopers been on this line for two years in a row now and you sit and third on the depth chart
- 34:49[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I mean, what are we doing now?
- 34:51[SPEAKER_01]: Like, we threw passes to Luke Whiplier last year in real game time.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_01]: And now he's third on the depth chart, I'll below the guy you just mentioned.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_01]: So like, no, there's something there, like, where are our boy yet?
- 35:02[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, I forgot what's our online name?
- 35:05[SPEAKER_01]: They ran them out of town.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_01]: What's the color him?
- 35:08[SPEAKER_01]: We need color him back.
- 35:09[SPEAKER_00]: Because that's how I have monster with the online dude.
- 35:11[SPEAKER_01]: I don't get it, like I really don't get it at this point.
- 35:15[SPEAKER_00]: He was in Washington, he had the whole line in Washington when I was there, and he had a working.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_00]: He had a working.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he can go work to talk about it.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_00]: But they got hot, though.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_00]: Hot was with Mack and Joe fall in the years.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_00]: When I was here, but you know, who knows, it's a whole new online.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 35:35[SPEAKER_00]: So that is always going to be that.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_03]: Before we flip over and talk about the Browns defense and one guy who almost joined the Browns defense But to not join the Browns defense Were there any other Standout strengths or weaknesses guys you guys want to touch on from preseason week one for the Browns?
- 35:50[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely
- 35:53[SPEAKER_01]: Now or are we talking off as a defense offense?
- 35:56[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, on the offensive side of the boat Here is one disappointing guy that I talked about him and I talked about him and I was so excited to see him come out And unfortunately he stunk up the joint my boy and Monty Marsha went six rushes four yards Could really find a hole in that was I'm like, oh, he's getting a chance and he couldn't do what he did but
- 36:19[SPEAKER_01]: can look for you make the roster please like I don't know how you do it I don't know how you find him a spot but I love gay's larvae then too but there's something about Luke that this dude if there's green grass and there's a sliver of it being open that boy gonna cut it and he gonna make sure it look pretty and every time I haven't seen him drop a ball yet I have not seen him drop one pass and we can't say the same for gay's even though gay's gets a lot more opportunities than Luke
- 36:47[SPEAKER_01]: It's a produce what what you're given with and every time Luke Florey's on the field if it wasn't for the injury last year he makes the roster last year there could be a different conversation.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_01]: I want to see Luke Florey make this roster.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_02]: I do too.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_02]: I think that would be awesome.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_02]: The guy who really caught my eye and date Devon David Booth.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my gosh, like I I look at I literally just looked up the measurables because I didn't want to compare without looking at measurables He reminds me of Keaton Mitchell like it is scary like you got sticks is foot in the ground bounce it to the outside He's able to find find things between the tackles at like five nine that you the smaller body guy normally wouldn't then He hits a second gear and getting the space.
- 37:23[SPEAKER_02]: I think you look at
- 37:24[SPEAKER_02]: Haven't been all of his carries in the fourth quarter at the very end of the game, but it's two biggest ones Very very end of the game.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_02]: You're like, okay, there's two minutes left.
- 37:31[SPEAKER_02]: Go watch those plays like those are 20-ish yard runs that are not supposed to be 20 yard runs, and I think Say who's just starting to come?
- 37:38[SPEAKER_03]: You have to know who
- 37:42[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't get to so I listen if you watch the stream we got to about the eight minute mark and I'm like I had that had to go I had a family daughter event that I had to get to so like you know what instead of watching this
- 37:55[SPEAKER_01]: Brown's game at the end.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to go ahead and edit so I didn't get to see it.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm going to give you this, though, because Matt, Matt, Max, you're first in the early job of the day to see my like this, too.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_03]: And I had to look at the measure of both to make sure I wasn't being a dummy either on this one.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_03]: But you're answering another number 29, and Cleveland Brown's running back a little bit.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_02]: The John Duke Johnson.
- 38:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I could see it.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_02]: I could see it.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_02]: I would be fascinated to see you here, too.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_03]: Can I have a fill?
- 38:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 38:18[SPEAKER_02]: That was nice man.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he was a good player.
- 38:21[SPEAKER_00]: What's the name?
- 38:22[SPEAKER_00]: Neibard.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_00]: I saw that one screen yet Samsung.
- 38:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I didn't know he was that fast, dude.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_01]: Keep that on matter fact.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_01]: I was a little like I'm like, how are we talking?
- 38:31[SPEAKER_01]: No, let's just keep Samsung on a download because no one seems to want to talk about Samsung.
- 38:36[SPEAKER_01]: And we talked about the lightning thunder with the crane hunt and Nick Chup for years.
- 38:42[SPEAKER_01]: Samsung
- 38:46[SPEAKER_01]: a different tier of Darren Sprouls a guy who you're not going to be like oh we're not about the gameplay for Darren Sprouls like you'd be just going to let if you beat us he beat us yeah okay go to see how to work out for you he's going to peel off 13 carry or 10 what not even 13 carries probably three carries for 20 yards and then he may give you one reception for 40 yards yeah just yeah
- 39:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm fascinated by the running back depth too because like I think back to the most successful backfield in the Munkin offense It's Henry and then it's Joseph Hill Keaton Mitchell.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_02]: It's two guys.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_02]: We're kind of similar in terms of skill set Why can't that be Judkins booth Samson?
- 39:23[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe they keep working with guy.
- 39:25[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's good job of booth over Sanders over rockers Sanders
- 39:28[SPEAKER_02]: If I'm looking at what the munken backfield has been, like the Sanders and Monty Marsh, like they don't fit it as well, I don't think.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not ready to make that now.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_00]: So the three running backs you say going into the season.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_02]: If I think they take for it to be honest with you, I think special teams wise don't Samson will give you something.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe Booth does too, but I think there's a world they take for and one of those guys is special teamer.
- 39:52[SPEAKER_00]: That's what Samson should.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_00]: He might be back in the deck.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, he will be for sure.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm what he says.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_02]: I think those guys at the top two.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_02]: But like...
- 40:02[SPEAKER_02]: There's a world like, I think back to the Ravens when they're like, machine-auly, as a shorter yardage guy behind Derek Henry to spell him out.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_02]: Like, maybe there's a world that keeps somebody, you know, like, in a money marshal or like a rocket Sanders to be that third guy, but if they keep four, I mean, that's a different style of fact that you have depth at now if you were to keep booth.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to say, keep Devon booth after what four carries for 53 yards, whatever it was in the preseason, but like, I saw something that made me really, really encouraged and honestly interested in that running back battle.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_02]: Especially when we talk about the production of the other guys.
- 40:30[SPEAKER_01]: Would you rather keep four running backs or keep both gauge and Luca?
- 40:35[SPEAKER_01]: Ernt, Luca, Luke Floria, because I feel like if we're on the back one really, I think so too.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_00]: Just because there are four running backs.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_03]: I think because we got a we got a hell of the receivers for the first what's this crazy to say right now we really say here like we deep at receiver when we have now what guy who I his name actually maybe has not even mentioned on this show somehow as we are 43 minutes and speaking that receiver room and we absolutely have to talk about this young man had a what this guy should or
- 41:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, no, we're see.
- 41:08[SPEAKER_02]: No, we're see.
- 41:08[SPEAKER_02]: No, we're see.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_03]: We have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we have to really, we
- 41:36[SPEAKER_01]: You take, hey, I never heard ZA fall or say I'd say pride and not getting tackled by a corner bag.
- 41:42[SPEAKER_01]: That's a run-and-back mentality.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_00]: I still think Boston might get most of the yards, but I think consumption and will be the bigger playmaker.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_00]: Casey, you get honestly on a beautiful Cleveland day.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_00]: I think both of them have a thousand missions.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that way, you know what?
- 42:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I love it.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_00]: See, I mean, I didn't read the shirt.
- 42:08[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't even read the shirt.
- 42:09[SPEAKER_01]: It says the kids' yards at the catch, wide-up of the catch, both of them for a thousand.
- 42:12[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, the beautiful day.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_01]: But what I'm saying, K.C.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_01]: my real life.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_01]: That night, at first I was kind of trolling away just because I'm like, hype on my boy up, he real life might have 1,400 total yards this year.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_01]: I can totally, I'm maybe.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_03]: I'm talking about this, so Melka Corley led all NFL receivers in Russian guards last year.
- 42:33[SPEAKER_03]: I would have to assume that a minimum is having a heavily-to-crease role obviously it's a different offensive court.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_03]: I think he's doing this.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_03]: I mean like maybe there's some rushing yards there or two, like it has to be here.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_02]: I also think the thing with KZ concept is because he could do so much he's so hard to gain plan for if you want to spend the majority or time during a week game playing for the Cleveland Browns.
- 42:54[SPEAKER_02]: talking about pushing linebackers over in motion when he goes or certain rotation rules with your safety.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_02]: Like, you can do that spend time doing that on the outside.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_02]: You have to deal with Denzel Boston, but I thought, well, pretty good Jerry Judy too.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_02]: Like Jerry Judy still very much can win one on one.
- 43:09[SPEAKER_02]: And then that's not even talking about Harold Finne Jr., the running back depth like all this stuff.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_02]: He is a defensive coordinator's worst nightmare because he can beat you one on one.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_02]: He can come in motion and take a hand off.
- 43:17[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to also get the ball on his hands-on ponder turns and you heard Todd Munk and say something to the effect of,
- 43:22[SPEAKER_02]: We want to get the ball in his hands as much as possible, easy way to do that.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_02]: It's on punts as soon as he gets to the ball.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_02]: He's just so hard to gain plan for.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_02]: He can do so many different things.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I loved the third down.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_02]: It was him and Denzel Boston at the top.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_02]: The DB's did a really good job exchanging the routes to Sean Watson made a good throw.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_02]: And he had just eat a big hit and he held on through the contact.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_02]: He's got great contact balance.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_02]: Like, he can just do so many different things that make me think he is extremely extremely versatile and is this A-flowers.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I think that was a very good comparison.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's way too early to say he's better than a guy who has had a thousand yards.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_02]: I think each of the three seasons he's been in the NFL who just got paid.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_01]: I like the comparison that we've been seeing thrown around and it's way too early to give him that type of flowers.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_01]: But in terms of like what we're seeing him do right now, and he hit the celebration, he's given flashes of AB and I don't realize it's crazy.
- 44:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's crazy.
- 44:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's crazy.
- 44:15[SPEAKER_00]: I was thinking about it.
- 44:16[SPEAKER_01]: Because I say that because there's this clip of AB and they said,
- 44:22[SPEAKER_01]: I told him I'm like if you start having me return kicks the price going go up and that next right after he said that to Mike Tom and I think that's what A.B.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_01]: said he appeals one off for a touch down like we're gonna see Casey take run handoffs.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_01]: We're gonna see him take big shots across the middle underneath over the top.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_01]: We're gonna see him take a punt return back.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_01]: It's gonna get to a point where we're like
- 44:45[SPEAKER_01]: we might want to give him his extension next year because he's that type of guy we haven't think about how many players we've gone after that we're what what is he five ten short of you know actually six is he six but I mean Corey Coleman's of the world's that I can't think sure it's not really a great comparison in terms of the height but like
- 45:03[SPEAKER_01]: He's the little bot, he's the Steve Smith body.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, it tests me if you won't.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_01]: You won't get this physicality.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_01]: Like we have not had that type of player.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_01]: And we've drafted so many of them, or tried to acquire so many of those style quarterbacks.
- 45:16[SPEAKER_01]: We found earned quarterbacks for receivers.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_01]: We got it in case he's gonna be him.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_02]: I can't sit here and compare it to Antonio Brown.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_01]: Not yet, but it's given flashes.
- 45:24[SPEAKER_02]: I don't even know if after like two years.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_02]: That's the early.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_01]: That's crazy.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, wait to move.
- 45:28[SPEAKER_02]: Antonio Brown, like when he was health honestly prior to he will be taking you to be going in and can't miss you every one point of all to feel like.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like literally one of the greatest receivers of the century.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_02]: That's what we got.
- 45:39[SPEAKER_02]: I can't do.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I can't do that.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_03]: That's what we got your lips to God's ears.
- 45:44[SPEAKER_03]: One thing that won't be coming to Cleveland though is a dareous miss.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_03]: We got to talk about that a little bit.
- 45:49[SPEAKER_03]: What happened on that side of the ball?
- 45:50[SPEAKER_03]: So I, I self-dogs had a bit of a long weekend this weekend.
- 45:54[SPEAKER_03]: I was out of the house running around.
- 45:56[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe he didn't feel the best when I was waking up in the morning and
- 45:59[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just scrolling through the gap, so dare it's a serious smith, like what did this happen?
- 46:02[SPEAKER_03]: Like, oh, I gotta go rushing get the graphic.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, wait, no, maybe it's not happening.
- 46:06[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, no, now we learn it is not happening, it's a dareous, but not going to go join his former team, but he is going to go join his former coach, Kevin Stephansky with the Atlanta Falcons.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_03]: So I wanted to ask you guys all about this, really.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_03]: How much of a loss is this for the Cleveland Browns?
- 46:20[SPEAKER_03]: She's not the fact that maybe you get the sky into the room and put him over a writer McGuire.
- 46:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's, it's a big loss because any depth would help, you know, after losing miles on that side of the ball.
- 46:32[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know the reason is why he left, I mean, not left, but consider coming here and then back out and, you know, and join Stephanski.
- 46:42[SPEAKER_00]: Who knows?
- 46:43[SPEAKER_00]: He might have a better chance of getting more playing time there.
- 46:47[SPEAKER_00]: I would say, you know, he's on the back end of his career.
- 46:51[SPEAKER_00]: So at this time, you just want to see the field as much as you can.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_00]: So that's probably what played into it.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_00]: And he knows the basketball.
- 47:01[SPEAKER_00]: You know, so those things weren't playing, but it is a big loss, I would say, because I think we need any help we can to feel miles and shoes.
- 47:13[SPEAKER_00]: Not saying verse, it's an isn't the guy, but miles is a different specimen.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_01]: It's a loss, but it, you know, we're also, it's a loss for the media, it's such a loss for the media because this is why we don't get any of our own locals breaking news.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_01]: How many locals are breaking news for Cleveland Browns?
- 47:34[SPEAKER_01]: None of them.
- 47:35[SPEAKER_01]: And it's it's it's little stuff like this and I compared it to that one kid in the class room that spoiled it for the entire class We ain't going on that field trip.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_01]: No, no piece of party now.
- 47:45[SPEAKER_01]: You you spoiled it and you can think who are you I ain't ain't gonna put it but you can thank it You can thank the lead.
- 47:52[SPEAKER_01]: You know I said and I'm just man because it's like
- 47:55[SPEAKER_01]: When we go up date the culture in the media world, you know what I'm saying that can get up in here and ask these questions or when we're going to get new Someone else to leak something because Who else would you tell me we all know man?
- 48:09[SPEAKER_01]: He literally came out.
- 48:10[SPEAKER_01]: We're in a day is now where these players are coming at the media They literally are trying to prove a point and right after that leak came out saying that always about the sign on Sunday He goes under the comment at Rebuddo saying
- 48:23[SPEAKER_01]: No, what you're talking about, God, why would you put this out there?
- 48:27[SPEAKER_01]: So not only is it a loss for the team, but is it a loss for the Cleveland media that can tend use to put sour ass tastes and all the Cleveland fans mouth?
- 48:36[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's a part of it.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_02]: I do.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_02]: I also think we got to look at the bigger picture here right he worked out reportedly with the Browns on Thursday all the sudden hammer comes down Friday James Pierce suspended for half the season in Atlanta That's a starting job that's been available for half the season that just opened up.
- 48:52[SPEAKER_02]: You didn't sign a contract yet, right that is a 48 hours period where you're as a dairy smith you're thinking okay, like
- 48:57[SPEAKER_02]: even to find, you know, supposed to sign with the Browns on Sunday.
- 49:00[SPEAKER_02]: Let me think about this, chances are Falcons made a call.
- 49:02[SPEAKER_02]: They did work him out and now they are signing him like that is a half a season contract where you're as a dairy smith.
- 49:07[SPEAKER_02]: You can come in and be a starter immediately having impact and when James Pierce comes back, still probably be a rotational guy on a team that might win more games in the Cleveland Browns.
- 49:15[SPEAKER_02]: I think as a much better chance of winning that the vision and the Browns have of winning the AFC North, like I think there's a bigger picture in all of this, even though I do think that put a sour taste in his mouth.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I just think I mean, I get the whole point where you talk about the that starting tackle position opens up, but to those point you lose miles Garrett, you want to back in your career, you still think you got it.
- 49:37[SPEAKER_01]: The door is so open for someone to make a stand.
- 49:41[SPEAKER_01]: That's why all I should be on Alex right this year.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_01]: All I should be on Isaiah McGuire this year and these players that are at this damn position All eyes are already going to be on Jared verse, but there is a real opportunity and if you're as an area Smith Maybe this one year could get you another one year plus a player option extension if you come out and make it I mean how many times did we say Von Miller just signed with the cowboys.
- 50:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, really, so it's like all it takes is one good year for you to maybe extend it one more year and
- 50:09[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, man, it looked like Coach bringing all type of bad energy around that Atlanta building because it feels very similar to what we was dealing with.
- 50:19[SPEAKER_01]: Players going down, quarterback controversy, and only like it's not going to happen.
- 50:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's just to be the turn.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_03]: You're the A1 Kevin Stephanskihater on this planet.
- 50:28[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not a hate.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not a hate.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not a hate.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not a hate.
- 50:31[SPEAKER_01]: Some people do thrive in chaos.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_01]: I do think.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_01]: I do think.
- 50:36[SPEAKER_02]: I think that thought process of the dairy smith waning like if he wants to play another year after this one wanted to prove himself is Probable who he has a way better chance do that in Atlanta eight games at least as a starter way better chance do that if it feels like he still is he still has it way better
- 50:52[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you know, this is a business that they're doing right well, that's how I was going to ask you Phil's I mean you do you do have the experience of playing on the defense of line and Cleveland that so I mean no one else in this room does So yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, it's in the same position as the Darious Smith where it's like if you're a guy who's towards the Twilightier career and you probably know that and you're you're weighing your options like how much do you weigh like okay I'm familiar
- 51:17[SPEAKER_03]: in Cleveland.
- 51:18[SPEAKER_03]: They're probably not going to be great.
- 51:19[SPEAKER_03]: And I know I'm probably going to get a decent amount of tick if I go there versus, oh, or I could go to Atlanta like Max and maybe they have the better chance to win their division or maybe I'm familiar with the coach because I was with him a couple of years ago.
- 51:31[SPEAKER_03]: Like if that was you and you were in that spot, where do you think you ultimately decide to go?
- 51:35[SPEAKER_03]: Like assuming the money is similar and not kind of stuff.
- 51:38[SPEAKER_00]: It's tough, but like you said, when that starter went down, you know eight weeks at least,
- 51:47[SPEAKER_00]: I know I can go there and play right now.
- 51:49[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 51:50[SPEAKER_00]: I come to Cleveland, you got to beat somebody out.
- 51:54[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 51:54[SPEAKER_00]: So it's a lot of factors.
- 51:56[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if they paid them more or less.
- 51:58[SPEAKER_02]: That's also definitely part of it.
- 51:59[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 52:00[SPEAKER_00]: So I think it's just more, he's going to see the field more, you know, and then let it.
- 52:06[SPEAKER_03]: So question for everyone here on this DU line as it relates to not getting sederious Smith is two-part of almost.
- 52:14[SPEAKER_03]: is part A, are you comfortable with as we set August 18th with this browns, the adressors on both sides?
- 52:21[SPEAKER_03]: Like, are you guys cool with that group?
- 52:23[SPEAKER_03]: Or do you think that the browns do need to go out and do something whether it is signing like a more of like an interim guy, like a middle tier, trying to go out and try to do a trade, something, or are you fine with going with the McGuire and right combo?
- 52:35[SPEAKER_01]: Dude, I'm looking at our front, our, our, eight that we have.
- 52:39[SPEAKER_01]: I'm, I like it.
- 52:40[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 52:42[SPEAKER_01]: Right, Malik Collins, Mason Graham, Jarvis.
- 52:45[SPEAKER_01]: Studged forward, right there.
- 52:47[SPEAKER_01]: Back up, Isaiah McGuire, Michael, Aiding Huntington, Julio Carr.
- 52:51[SPEAKER_01]: Julio Carr just had a second, he had a judge who was born last week.
- 52:55[SPEAKER_01]: So if we, that's eight, you know what I'm saying?
- 52:57[SPEAKER_01]: That's eight right there.
- 52:58[SPEAKER_01]: So it's not like it's not like it's a devastating loss.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_01]: I think the bigger depth that we need to be talking about is that CB room.
- 53:04[SPEAKER_01]: That's where it comes into question.
- 53:06[SPEAKER_03]: They are an injury away from like, any one you know, shooting like.
- 53:09[SPEAKER_03]: You seriously, yeah.
- 53:12[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, like literally I take you know a hundred and twenty-socking wet.
- 53:15[SPEAKER_03]: There's a there's another When you look at the chance to bring in a guy like Sidiria Smith though when you have a guy like Jared verse who obviously won D-roy was two years ago now, so he's still a younger player even if he has kind of already broken out by the
- 53:29[SPEAKER_03]: technical sense of the phrase, you got my, or based on Graham entering your two, so still younger guy who's establishing himself but not all the way there yet, how much would it have meant to those two in particular, had the Browns be able to bring in a veteran like as a
- 53:47[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it would have made too much of a difference because they got better as in the room now and Malik and verse now and Alex right so I think I think they're fine with their better as in the deal on you know what I mean so yeah
- 54:03[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, you know, as a, the outside looking in, yeah, it was a, you know, I think we could, you know, added the depth with sederious.
- 54:11[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's always good to have an extra body because, you know, during campus, it's long season.
- 54:16[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 54:16[SPEAKER_00]: But at the end of the day, I still think we're good.
- 54:19[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think looking at that unit of eight on paper is great.
- 54:24[SPEAKER_02]: The fact of the Browns went out and tried to sign to Davey and Clowny couldn't get him.
- 54:27[SPEAKER_02]: And then Zedarius Smith couldn't get him.
- 54:29[SPEAKER_02]: Tell us that there's somebody or someone defensive line coach, coach, whatever, and the Browns building that doesn't think that defensive line is up to where it should be.
- 54:38[SPEAKER_03]: I know you can always get there.
- 54:39[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think they necessarily don't think it's up to where they should be, but at the same time.
- 54:44[SPEAKER_02]: a little bit more help.
- 54:45[SPEAKER_02]: Well, hurt.
- 54:46[SPEAKER_02]: That's a better way to think.
- 54:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's more fair.
- 54:48[SPEAKER_02]: So yes, they're always trying to get better.
- 54:51[SPEAKER_02]: Part of me also looks at a guy like Hassan Redick who's still out there who was with Mike Rittenberg for, I believe, just a year in New York.
- 54:59[SPEAKER_02]: But they were together.
- 55:00[SPEAKER_02]: My group, literally, was a linebacker's coach.
- 55:01[SPEAKER_02]: So at some point, would have worked with them.
- 55:03[SPEAKER_02]: You know, if that was an opportunity, if there was success there, maybe they'd be bringing him in.
- 55:07[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not convinced there was success.
- 55:08[SPEAKER_02]: There was a pretty quick, I think it was only a year in New York, pretty quick there.
- 55:14[SPEAKER_02]: Boss is still out there.
- 55:16[SPEAKER_02]: I'm looking a couple of guys.
- 55:17[SPEAKER_01]: You know who I would like to watch 34 of veteran Yeah, but Boss is there's one guy on the other way that boom if you bring him into this right me He had what 10 times a year Man, no, but yeah Kyle Vendoy.
- 55:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, didn't he have a lot more ball tomorrow?
- 55:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah killing last year too
- 55:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, I like Kyle, I really like Calvin or as a player.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_02]: He's what thirty six thirty five.
- 55:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yep.
- 55:41[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, oh, as a veteran presence though, if you were a considering for serious and I mean, the coming from the AFC North, that would be huge if you can somehow see it.
- 55:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 55:52[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't have the same.
- 55:53[SPEAKER_01]: That wasn't the year he had.
- 55:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was really though.
- 55:56[SPEAKER_01]: It was very rare.
- 55:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 55:57[SPEAKER_02]: It's interesting though, like yeah, I think they're all they are always trying to get better.
- 56:00[SPEAKER_02]: I'm with you.
- 56:01[SPEAKER_02]: I think there's more concern in the corner room.
- 56:04[SPEAKER_02]: I think there's more concern on the interior of the defensive line than there is on the edge to be honest with you, especially depth.
- 56:10[SPEAKER_02]: I think there'll be okay.
- 56:11[SPEAKER_02]: Nobody is going to be my Oscar and nobody's going to be able to individually fill issues.
- 56:14[SPEAKER_02]: At least I don't think maybe Jarvis can.
- 56:17[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to take Alex right with seven eight nine sacks.
- 56:20[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to take Isaiah McGuire making a difference.
- 56:22[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to take some blitzes, some exotic packages in the front
- 56:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's it's hard to believe that they 100% will feel like this is the best offensive line we can have right now.
- 56:33[SPEAKER_02]: It's probably why they're trying to get some guys.
- 56:35[SPEAKER_02]: But I think it's good enough.
- 56:36[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's good enough.
- 56:37[SPEAKER_02]: And I think it's good enough to be a top 12ish defense in the NFL for sure.
- 56:41[SPEAKER_01]: It is nice to see Julian O'Korea get that sack because we talked to remember last year we sat in this exact spot and we raved there was him and who was the other guy where that we added?
- 56:51[SPEAKER_01]: It was two guys that we added.
- 56:52[SPEAKER_01]: They were like, oh, they could really help this offense
- 56:56[SPEAKER_01]: But to see him get that sack last week, the the depth of scary, but boy, please don't let no one go down because it's going to be scary.
- 57:07[SPEAKER_00]: We can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we can't we
- 57:26[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, we might, we might, you know, we could always take another in a line, but I don't know.
- 57:30[SPEAKER_00]: I'll just say line.
- 57:31[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's a little bit shaky, but our starters.
- 57:35[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, could you find a better starting linebacker core than Quincy and Carson right now?
- 57:39[SPEAKER_03]: No, you got Bokey Watson too.
- 57:41[SPEAKER_03]: There's, there's a sneaky players in that room.
- 57:43[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to take a break here on the big play Cleveland show.
- 57:46[SPEAKER_03]: Phil, thank you so much for joining us.
- 57:48[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, we're the guys.
- 57:48[SPEAKER_03]: We got to let you know.
- 57:49[SPEAKER_03]: Boxing is back in Cleveland, which is not because I got the chance to go to a night to remember a couple of months ago by buddies.
- 57:56[SPEAKER_03]: They had drinks, they were catering.
- 57:57[SPEAKER_03]: There was no one by there's boxing for the seat in the way.
- 58:00[SPEAKER_03]: It's like maybe maybe I don't know.
- 58:03[SPEAKER_03]: 100 feet from the ring.
- 58:04[SPEAKER_03]: It is so sick.
- 58:05[SPEAKER_03]: So we're going to tell you about Cleveland's boxing and being back.

- 58:46[SPEAKER_03]: Don't go anywhere.
- 58:47[SPEAKER_03]: Phil, thanks for joining us as always.
- 58:49[SPEAKER_03]: Welcome back to Big Play Cleveland Live, presented by Fandle, Jack O'Rourke here alongside Chef Zay and Max Loeb.
- 58:55[SPEAKER_03]: Max, anytime the Buffalo Bills, I mentioned anywhere near the Cleveland Browns, it makes our John Carroll hard shoulder.
- 59:01[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, really, knowing that the bill's not fee will be around.
- 59:04[SPEAKER_03]: But guys, joint practices are coming up this week.
- 59:07[SPEAKER_03]: You got the
- 59:07[SPEAKER_03]: Bill's in town that you got the preseason game should start you obviously all the good stuff that we've talked about before We even get into the one thing that we absolutely need to see at joint practice because we know that there's been a couple things off The last about week in half.
- 59:21[SPEAKER_03]: We need to tinker and fix a little bit guys It seems like every single year.
- 59:25[SPEAKER_03]: This is like a trend that happens when joint practice comes around
- 59:28[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sitting in that office over there down here at Berkeley for an airport just hanging out with Bailey and I'm just throwing through Twitter and every person who has eyes on what is going down to the joint practices is like oh the city is burning the city is burning the browns are getting killed.
- 59:41[SPEAKER_03]: It seems like this has happened like two or three years in a row the Eagles one I remember was like a really big deal.
- 59:47[SPEAKER_03]: I think they asked though.
- 59:49[SPEAKER_01]: What do we kick the Vikings ass.
- 59:51[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, he did.
- 59:52[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 59:52[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, so is the reverse.
- 59:53[SPEAKER_01]: That was the year they went 13 in which a call.
- 59:55[SPEAKER_01]: We were like, oh my God, we keep their ass in there.
- 59:57[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that was a good year.
- 59:57[SPEAKER_01]: That was a good year.
- 59:58[SPEAKER_03]: That was a good, a good recession indicator or whatever.
- 1:00:01[SPEAKER_03]: No.
- 1:00:01[SPEAKER_01]: The Vikings went 13 wins that year.
- 1:00:03[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, after.
- 1:00:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:00:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:00:05[SPEAKER_03]: You're saying there's nothing you can even learn from these things.
- 1:00:07[SPEAKER_03]: But guys, what is the number one thing that you're looking forward to?
- 1:00:10[SPEAKER_03]: Like, what do you need to see how the Cleveland Browns is doing practice to prevent a world burning exercise on Twitter?
- 1:00:16[SPEAKER_01]: what do we need to see or what do like some of these groups of Browns fans need to see because a lot of these Browns fans are going to expect your door to just win the job.
- 1:00:26[SPEAKER_01]: Like I think there's a heavy expectation that they want to make this battle more of a battle and see this quarterback room spark up a little bit because
- 1:00:37[SPEAKER_01]: Max and I were briefly talking about it as we walked to the bathroom.
- 1:00:42[SPEAKER_01]: It's just, I want to see Shidorah with the ones.
- 1:00:45[SPEAKER_01]: I want to see Shidorah with the ones against the ones.
- 1:00:47[SPEAKER_01]: We've seen it all the time.
- 1:00:48[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you can't give us the shot and then not give us Shidorah.
- 1:00:51[SPEAKER_01]: So that would probably be the one thing that I'm really looking for.
- 1:00:53[SPEAKER_01]: Will we get that?
- 1:00:55[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 1:00:55[SPEAKER_01]: Honestly, if we'll get that.
- 1:00:57[SPEAKER_01]: At least not in the preseason, like we should get it.
- 1:00:59[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the thing that kind of pisses me off a little bit.
- 1:01:02[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's tough.
- 1:01:03[SPEAKER_02]: I think the overall things I would want to see are how the Browns react to differences from their own team.
- 1:01:11[SPEAKER_02]: Like the big thing that comes to my mind, just think about the bills, we will not see it.
- 1:01:15[SPEAKER_02]: We will.
- 1:01:16[SPEAKER_02]: It's tough to gauge and join practices, but the bills offends of line is going to move people.
- 1:01:20[SPEAKER_02]: They have one of the best if not the best rush attacks in the NFL.
- 1:01:23[SPEAKER_02]: How is the Browns defense going to hold up against that?
- 1:01:25[SPEAKER_02]: I also think there is a different
- 1:01:29[SPEAKER_02]: level of speed on the football when Josh Allen throws it, compared to any quarterback the Browns have.
- 1:01:34[SPEAKER_02]: How quickly can DB's react?
- 1:01:36[SPEAKER_02]: Those tight windows get a little bit tighter.
- 1:01:39[SPEAKER_02]: I also think on the defensive side of the, or sorry, on the offensive side of the ball for the Browns.
- 1:01:44[SPEAKER_02]: they should, in my opinion, succeed more.
- 1:01:46[SPEAKER_02]: I think that bill's defense is, especially the secondary, I don't want to caution everybody, not to overreact watching Shidorah to Sean, whoever against that bill's secondary, that I think is not very good.
- 1:01:57[SPEAKER_02]: That they should have success against that defense.
- 1:02:00[SPEAKER_02]: I think, I personally think they should have success against, a back end that has struggled the past few years that hasn't made a ton of improvements in my opinion.
- 1:02:08[SPEAKER_02]: The front seven solid, again,
- 1:02:10[SPEAKER_02]: You think that offensive line can hold up against the bill's past rush, like the Brown should succeed on offense if they consistently do not, especially with the first team because I mean, the second team Brown's offense has been brutal in practice.
- 1:02:22[SPEAKER_02]: First team does not succeed, I think it is a legitimate cause for concern.
- 1:02:25[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely, regardless of who's playing quarterback, it's not the Sean should or whoever, like that's a Brown's cause for concern.
- 1:02:30[SPEAKER_03]: And Max, I think there's some very important words on both sides is about that bill's secondary, like, hey, you have a chance where a thing should look really good, but you're seeing something pretty bad if things don't look pretty good.
- 1:02:39[SPEAKER_03]: And I want to ask you that because something talked about back in the first segment was you mentioned that to Sean winning the quarter battle, quarter battle in some way, shape or form maybe bit of a war of attrition, just more don't mess it up.
- 1:02:50[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:02:52[SPEAKER_03]: Hey, I'm winning it 2020's back for a zop, you know, it might be somewhere more towards Hey, I'm just throwing less picks, or I just I'm picking it up faster whatever that may be Which quarterback has more to gain or lose so I got I got some fluid scale either way Who has more who can move more this week against Buffalo between Deshawn and Shador?
- 1:03:10[SPEAKER_02]: I honestly think Dylan Gabriel has the most gain.
- 1:03:13[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I love that.
- 1:03:14[SPEAKER_02]: Let's hear about it.
- 1:03:15[SPEAKER_02]: I think when you look at the quarterback room, like obviously it's a two-horse race really, but I also think Dylan Gabriel is going to get reps in all three preseason games.
- 1:03:22[SPEAKER_02]: He didn't look great, obviously.
- 1:03:23[SPEAKER_02]: The past or last weekend against the bears.
- 1:03:26[SPEAKER_01]: Who did?
- 1:03:27[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
- 1:03:27[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I thought to Sean did, but.
- 1:03:29[SPEAKER_02]: There's a legitimate question, like who is your number two quarterback?
- 1:03:34[SPEAKER_02]: There's a reason he's getting more two reps. Like he's he's succeeding.
- 1:03:37[SPEAKER_02]: I still do think I said earlier as the odd man out, but I think he absolutely has the most to gain because I do think the top two guys are almost set where they're at.
- 1:03:45[SPEAKER_02]: Like I think it's to Sean starting job, to lose, and I don't, I guess he has the most to lose in principle because he can lose the starting job.
- 1:03:51[SPEAKER_02]: I don't really think
- 1:03:53[SPEAKER_02]: Shouldn't say it's not possible.
- 1:03:54[SPEAKER_02]: It's possible.
- 1:03:55[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think it's very likely.
- 1:03:56[SPEAKER_02]: He even if he puts up back to back stinkers in these practices loses starting job because of joint practices.
- 1:04:01[SPEAKER_02]: He probably is the most elusive.
- 1:04:02[SPEAKER_02]: I kind of think Shodora's in the middle.
- 1:04:03[SPEAKER_02]: Like I sure he can gain an edge on Dylan Gabriel.
- 1:04:07[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe he can close the gap a little bit with Dishon, but like I don't think he can gain the starting job in joint practice.
- 1:04:13[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe in that plus the preseason plus week three of the preseason, but in joint practice.
- 1:04:17[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think so.
- 1:04:19[SPEAKER_03]: Is that it?
- 1:04:23[SPEAKER_01]: I see the press because it's like who has more to gain who has more to lose.
- 1:04:28[SPEAKER_01]: Like my mind is already convinced one way or another.
- 1:04:32[SPEAKER_01]: So like I don't think there's like I think there's more to settle than anything.
- 1:04:37[SPEAKER_01]: It's just like it's going to clarify we know who's going to be QB1 and I guess I can agree with Maxine that Dylan could have more to gain because if he somehow wins this, like is that a real possibility can Dylan find a way to win QB2?
- 1:04:52[SPEAKER_03]: I just think that I don't try to make it sound as easy as possible verbally, okay?
- 1:05:02[SPEAKER_03]: Not my expertise.
- 1:05:04[SPEAKER_03]: Do you guys think that Dillon Gabriel is closer to being QB2 than Schroer Sanders is to being QB1?
- 1:05:12[SPEAKER_02]: No, I don't think so.
- 1:05:14[SPEAKER_02]: closed up to do it because I if you would ask me this morning I would send a conversation that's worth having but seems like maybe it is closer than I thought uh let me say in terms of where we're at August 18th likely hood of getting the job right now I'd say it's pretty close to even honestly but in terms of like talent skill gap I don't I think should or is closer to keep you one than Dylan is to like I think should or is closer to just
- 1:05:44[SPEAKER_01]: I've been on record and I'm continually saying that I think Watts is going to end up getting the job.
- 1:05:48[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to make it seem like Shador is right there.
- 1:05:51[SPEAKER_01]: Like it's not like he doesn't have a legitimate argument to be QB1.
- 1:05:56[SPEAKER_01]: It's everything else around it that makes it so that's not really possible.
- 1:06:00[SPEAKER_01]: It's the JWs of the world.
- 1:06:01[SPEAKER_01]: It's the money.
- 1:06:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's the veteran presence.
- 1:06:04[SPEAKER_01]: Like there's a lot of things.
- 1:06:05[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 1:06:05[SPEAKER_03]: What if the Sean is awful?
- 1:06:07[SPEAKER_03]: Like low talk about how if you're bad against this, Bill's one second dairy.
- 1:06:12[SPEAKER_03]: That's a real bad sign.
- 1:06:13[SPEAKER_03]: Let's say the Sean's throw him picks left and right.
- 1:06:15[SPEAKER_03]: Skipping balls and ankles.
- 1:06:16[SPEAKER_03]: Hold on to the ball, take him sex.
- 1:06:18[SPEAKER_03]: And Shador has his best week so far if camp, right?
- 1:06:21[SPEAKER_03]: And then we say, sure goes out there in front of a soldout.
- 1:06:25[SPEAKER_03]: first energy stadium, or maybe not sold out, but a good home crowd who wants him to do well and should or does well, and they decide they do want to run to Sean with the two, because they haven't named to Sean the starting quarterback yet.
- 1:06:35[SPEAKER_03]: And to Sean goes out there and sings up the joint.
- 1:06:37[SPEAKER_03]: How could you even tell the fanbase you're not naming sure to look quarterback?
- 1:06:40[SPEAKER_01]: Because he's the least still on.
- 1:06:42[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you know the retractable dog leashes.
- 1:06:45[SPEAKER_01]: I do.
- 1:06:46[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 1:06:47[SPEAKER_01]: All that would happen with, you're just gonna reel it in and walk it.
- 1:06:51[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you're not gonna get any more slack, right?
- 1:06:54[SPEAKER_01]: But if you get any closer, eventually, I'm gonna take that damn leash off.
- 1:06:57[SPEAKER_01]: So I feel like that's where it's really at what the, you know, how we've been talking about as long as the shot doesn't lose it.
- 1:07:03[SPEAKER_01]: As long as that leash don't keep getting closer or closer to you can't get closer anymore.
- 1:07:07[SPEAKER_01]: The dog's still gonna be on the leash.
- 1:07:10[SPEAKER_01]: So that's all it would it is.
- 1:07:11[SPEAKER_01]: The leash gets shorter, it does just stay where it's at.
- 1:07:14[SPEAKER_03]: guys, we got a little brown stock market segment.
- 1:07:16[SPEAKER_03]: Hope you guys had your coffee's this morning, watch for the whole street got the bomb on the trail.
- 1:07:20[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you have had to strip straight ahead and add a lot of money to the trail machine.
- 1:07:24[SPEAKER_03]: But guys, as we transition into the stock market by sell hold on the Cleveland Browns, who is a player that you guys think to kind of wrap up the joint practices that is the most likely to leave their joint practices.
- 1:07:35[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not saying the game, or I guess we'll include the game and make it the full week here.
- 1:07:39[SPEAKER_03]: Who will leave the week not not a maybe who's leaving this week with the highest stock raise from the joint practices and game of the bills.
- 1:07:46[SPEAKER_02]: Hmm.
- 1:07:47[SPEAKER_03]: Could be any possession doesn't need to be quarterback.
- 1:07:48[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to Harold Finn and Jr.
- 1:07:49[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to build struggled between the Hashes last year.
- 1:07:52[SPEAKER_02]: I think they struggled against tight ends last year.
- 1:07:55[SPEAKER_02]: and almost just thinking a lot of averages, every single person has talked about Casey Concepcion, Denzel Boston, a little bit of Judge Kins, I've talked a lot about Judy, but like a decent amount of people talk about Judy, nobody's talking about him, and he's nursing injury sets part of it too, but yeah, I'll go with Harold Finn and Jr., I just don't think he's been talked about enough, and it almost makes me think like, we as fans, we have as the media too, we're going to find ways to talk about him, because nobody has.
- 1:08:20[SPEAKER_01]: We're asking who's gonna, who's stock and raise the most?
- 1:08:23[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, or it's your prediction though, who do you think their stock will be, or back your next week talking about it?
- 1:08:31[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that's a different thing what I was gonna go.
- 1:08:35[SPEAKER_01]: I think, you know, I'm going to go kind of off the walls a little bit.
- 1:08:41[SPEAKER_01]: I think this could be a really good opportunity for a guy like Emmanuel McNeill to put a stamp on more solidifying what we already are expecting.
- 1:08:51[SPEAKER_01]: He played a lot last week.
- 1:08:52[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to say he jumped off the charts or anything, but if you're going to go again, you get to go against.
- 1:08:58[SPEAKER_01]: Some of the best in the league.
- 1:08:58[SPEAKER_01]: You get to go against the job.
- 1:08:59[SPEAKER_01]: Well, and practice.
- 1:09:00[SPEAKER_01]: You get to go against John Allen.
- 1:09:02[SPEAKER_01]: You get to see this high powered offense.
- 1:09:04[SPEAKER_01]: James could come out of the battlefield.
- 1:09:05[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe catch something like, Emmanuel McNeill, we're looking for that guy to go next to Grant Dope.
- 1:09:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's someone's going to have to grasp it.
- 1:09:12[SPEAKER_01]: And I think if Emmanuel McNeill going up against, all this guy takes one interception, right?
- 1:09:16[SPEAKER_02]: And next thing, you know, Emmanuel McNeill steals the joint practice like, who's going to be the one to do it?
- 1:09:21[SPEAKER_01]: That's so I'm going to go e-man, but I think a guy who stock is really going to continue to rise at Rose last week.
- 1:09:27[SPEAKER_01]: We talk about the secondary debt.
- 1:09:28[SPEAKER_01]: Michael Koltz Jr. has an opportunity to solidify himself a roster on this spot and be a backup on here for sure 100% this week.
- 1:09:35[SPEAKER_01]: I like that.
- 1:09:36[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going Denzel Boston off the way you said low by I think this is the week or maybe you can abuse a little bit more.
- 1:09:40[SPEAKER_03]: You showed off your back there.
- 1:09:41[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, this is the bill secondary.
- 1:09:43[SPEAKER_03]: Then you got a game obviously Casey started to get the IP deserves after last weekend.
- 1:09:48[SPEAKER_02]: I also do think like if Shidorah is going to get more reps with the ones his stock is going to go a thousand per cent.
- 1:09:54[SPEAKER_02]: It's just like that's what's going to happen and almost in reverse Watson's will go down even if it's not even he's not doing great.
- 1:10:00[SPEAKER_02]: Like it's what's going to happen.
- 1:10:01[SPEAKER_02]: Can, how does Shidorah win the job?
- 1:10:05[SPEAKER_02]: Deshawn?
- 1:10:07[SPEAKER_02]: Uh-huh.
- 1:10:08[SPEAKER_01]: Without saying the I word.
- 1:10:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't how does he win it?
- 1:10:13[SPEAKER_01]: It can't, is there, because we keep saying that's a quarterback battle.
- 1:10:15[SPEAKER_01]: There has to be a path for Shador Sanders to win the job without the eyeword.
- 1:10:20[SPEAKER_03]: Where is the path?
- 1:10:21[SPEAKER_03]: That's not true though, because that's, that's like saying we're starting from today and the battle starts today, the battle started two months ago.
- 1:10:27[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm saying no, what, then what, what did we need to see?
- 1:10:30[SPEAKER_01]: Because it's not like, we said here can agree.
- 1:10:33[SPEAKER_01]: The Shador's had way more explosive plays than the Sean Watson.
- 1:10:37[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 1:10:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and practice, yes, yes, yes, yes.
- 1:10:40[SPEAKER_01]: Should door has protected the ball better than the Sean Watson.
- 1:10:43[SPEAKER_01]: No, I believe the stats with if you go to the end of the game.
- 1:10:51[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just saying, let me have a chat GPT.
- 1:10:53[SPEAKER_01]: Well, well, you can ask them, but I'm just asking like, from what we remember, right, for face value, should door has protected the ball better than the Sean.
- 1:11:03[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 1:11:05[SPEAKER_01]: So what is the path?
- 1:11:07[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, I also just, I watched him in her section.
- 1:11:10[SPEAKER_02]: Or that interceptor was God awful.
- 1:11:12[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like that.
- 1:11:13[SPEAKER_02]: And just stand.
- 1:11:14[SPEAKER_02]: But you know what the worst thing was, immediate, immediate sub-conscious reactions to stands there after.
- 1:11:20[SPEAKER_02]: Like that, to me is like, yes, I think if you're looking at practice, the stat tracker, and even like Watson Fumble, I think the interception is more on Shador than the Fumble is on Watson, but like, yeah, Shador has maybe protected the ball a little bit better.
- 1:11:33[SPEAKER_02]: I think there is absolutely an argument for Shador Sanders to be the starting quarterback.
- 1:11:39[SPEAKER_01]: But if it's neck and neck, you're going to go with the guy you're paying X amount of money who the ownership already paid and all this stuff like all the Paul whatever, like set that's what's going to happen so what you're telling me is I got I have the game called of duty right and I think I'm about to go online and play all these fun masks but the second I get in there I got a buy a DLC package like that's basically what should door centers is that right now like I'm in the game honestly, but first I mean
- 1:12:03[SPEAKER_03]: But there's no way for me to play because there's really no road for me to win this job because I got a buy the DLC It's like a correct battle, but at the same time like maybe one of the armies has a lot more ammo than the other one like a $80 million, maybe more of material to work with like that
- 1:12:20[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just trying to get to to the point here that like are we agree and agree miss that we keep saying it's a battle, but is there any path?
- 1:12:27[SPEAKER_01]: It can we find any multiverse?
- 1:12:29[SPEAKER_01]: Dr. Stranger's there one in what we're talking about.
- 1:12:32[SPEAKER_01]: I think it started to agree that's what he do to lose it
- 1:12:36[SPEAKER_03]: Where did he go a street on this, he had to go out and win it?
- 1:12:39[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we said and we said he had to go out there and so was it really a battle?
- 1:12:43[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, because the Sean watch and we all sat here.
- 1:12:47[SPEAKER_02]: We all sat here like a match.
- 1:12:52[SPEAKER_02]: a month and a half ago probably even sooner said it as well.
- 1:12:55[SPEAKER_02]: We were all in locks up.
- 1:12:56[SPEAKER_02]: This is the Sean Watson's job to lose I don't think he did enough to lose it and honestly should or Sanders.
- 1:13:02[SPEAKER_02]: I think closed the gap even more But I think him winning the starting job over somebody who's on the last year of his contract Who's getting paid all this money would have had to require the Sean Watson to
- 1:13:14[SPEAKER_02]: lose it to some.
- 1:13:15[SPEAKER_01]: So so what you're saying is we're in Clash of Clans and I can't upgrade this this extular thing because my town hall is in that level nine, which is Deshawn Watts.
- 1:13:24[SPEAKER_01]: I feel that that max that would happen on holidays.
- 1:13:26[SPEAKER_03]: But my football team gave Deshawn Watts in 230 million dollars so they're probably going to try this.
- 1:13:31[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, like again, it was a quarterback back.
- 1:13:33[SPEAKER_02]: It would, again, we sat here a month and a half ago or so and said, it would take a bad, a bad camp, a bad preseason debut from the Sean for him to lose the job.
- 1:13:42[SPEAKER_02]: It was his job to lose whether we agree with it or not.
- 1:13:45[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think he did.
- 1:13:46[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think anybody can confidently say he did, or Shidorah Sanders dramatically outplayed him to a point where it didn't matter if Watson just hovered around as a starter.
- 1:13:55[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think either of those things happened.
- 1:13:57[SPEAKER_02]: And again, there may be there is a small chance, maybe you should do it, maybe it's closer than we think in the building, maybe Sidor looks awesome against a bill secondary.
- 1:14:04[SPEAKER_02]: Again, you should be taking advantage of maybe he looks awesome, right?
- 1:14:07[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe he does.
- 1:14:08[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe the Sean looks really bad with the twos.
- 1:14:10[SPEAKER_02]: But that's been the constant practice.
- 1:14:12[SPEAKER_02]: Sidor is not look great with the twos.
- 1:14:14[SPEAKER_02]: The Sean is not look great with the twos.
- 1:14:15[SPEAKER_02]: Like that's been the constant practice.
- 1:14:16[SPEAKER_02]: So I think there's a very, very, very, very small chance.
- 1:14:20[SPEAKER_02]: I think there is a chance because we're not in the building.
- 1:14:22[SPEAKER_02]: We don't fully understand.
- 1:14:23[SPEAKER_02]: But I also think there's a very small chance,
- 1:14:27[SPEAKER_02]: for the preseason.
- 1:14:28[SPEAKER_01]: What if Shador goes 9 of 10, 151 yards?
- 1:14:32[SPEAKER_01]: He averages 15 yards through the carry.
- 1:14:33[SPEAKER_01]: Two touchdowns, no interceptions has a 158 quarterback rating and the Sean goes 6 of 11, 79 yards and an interception in this Buffalo game.
- 1:14:42[SPEAKER_01]: Does that sway you in any opinion?
- 1:14:44[SPEAKER_02]: It definitely makes me more worried about Watson, but again, like I
- 1:14:48[SPEAKER_02]: if if I if I'm naming the starter like I want to see what I have in my young quarterbacks.
- 1:14:52[SPEAKER_02]: That's me for sure.
- 1:14:53[SPEAKER_02]: Right, but I'm not you know running the clean rounds here.
- 1:14:55[SPEAKER_03]: Like the realities that they paid to Sean Watson like they paid in like yeah, they're they're going to which is they have to it's it's it's money.
- 1:15:02[SPEAKER_03]: It's all money and they're there's a battle but it's a money.
- 1:15:04[SPEAKER_03]: So Brookpark is still the Brookpark is and that's why we're gonna buy sell and hold stock at their current value.
- 1:15:10[SPEAKER_03]: Like that until we can get all the way out to Brookpark guys.
- 1:15:12[SPEAKER_03]: Let's go to Wall Street and let's go right back to those quarterbacks.
- 1:15:18[SPEAKER_03]: I'm holding.
- 1:15:19[SPEAKER_02]: I'm holding.
- 1:15:20[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm going to buy a little at his current value knowing he gets the bills and the preseason knowing he gets the one reps where people have 60 or regardless who's quarterback has succeeded.
- 1:15:28[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, Bikes.
- 1:15:29[SPEAKER_02]: I think his stock is going to go up.
- 1:15:30[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think there's going to be a dramatic change and you know his position on the roster
- 1:15:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'll buy it now though.
- 1:15:35[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to tag along with that.
- 1:15:37[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to Bill Gates said he says if you guys are familiar with not Bill Gates Warren Buffett Warren's Buffett theory is he doesn't go in thinking about buying stock He's buying and he's holding forever.
- 1:15:46[SPEAKER_01]: That's my stock in Shidorah.
- 1:15:47[SPEAKER_01]: I will never sell it.
- 1:15:48[SPEAKER_01]: I'm holding forever.
- 1:15:49[SPEAKER_01]: Okay wrist up.
- 1:15:51[SPEAKER_03]: All right, okay.
- 1:15:51[SPEAKER_03]: I'm gonna go
- 1:15:53[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to hold because I think it's a moment, maybe it's like a momentary stock lift.
- 1:15:57[SPEAKER_03]: Like I think maybe I would sell it the second that stock goes up next week or the name of the game, right?
- 1:16:02[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, name of the name of the game, but I, I'm going to give a short oral hold guys to Sean Watson at this moment in time by sell hold.
- 1:16:10[SPEAKER_02]: Honestly, I probably sell it just because I think like you want to talk about value.
- 1:16:14[SPEAKER_02]: I think Shador is just going to go up in the way the media works.
- 1:16:17[SPEAKER_02]: If somebody else just goes up, the counterpart goes down.
- 1:16:19[SPEAKER_02]: That's how it goes.
- 1:16:21[SPEAKER_02]: I honestly think it would take another really, really good performance from the Sean to rise the stock anymore that it has or is right now.
- 1:16:29[SPEAKER_02]: I can't confidently say he's going to do that with the two's away.
- 1:16:32[SPEAKER_02]: I can't do that.
- 1:16:32[SPEAKER_01]: I'm moan batting right I'm moan bagging right now if you don't know a moan bagging is I sold the stock a long time ago I had Reserves aka the profits that we're just sitting in there.
- 1:16:42[SPEAKER_01]: So whatever happens to those profits Whether they get tripled or they go to zero.
- 1:16:47[SPEAKER_01]: I'm moan bagging my stock with the Shard Watson right now
- 1:16:51[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think sells guy be the right answer.
- 1:16:53[SPEAKER_03]: I think when you hit a certain point like Yeah, and I mean, hey, maybe that sounds dumb.
- 1:16:56[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe he goes on as a good season, but I think that probably in a terrible choice Casey can set seal Give me all that stock.
- 1:17:03[SPEAKER_02]: I'm buying it, but you're paying for you.
- 1:17:05[SPEAKER_03]: I've got to sign this.
- 1:17:06[SPEAKER_01]: I should have given you Yeah, yeah, I got everyone listen if you ever trade it options you know that when a stock is up a hundred percent You're paying a hundred percent premium.
- 1:17:15[SPEAKER_01]: I don't care
- 1:17:16[SPEAKER_01]: I'm buying the premium.
- 1:17:17[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to go down.
- 1:17:17[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to go in the box and get a hot coin right out of my box.
- 1:17:20[SPEAKER_01]: I'm all the stock that you can have.
- 1:17:22[SPEAKER_01]: Give me all the KC stock and then some if you've got any extra.
- 1:17:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I've got some stock in my back pocket since June.
- 1:17:29[SPEAKER_02]: I'm with you.
- 1:17:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I would buy it at a premium.
- 1:17:32[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, no, I have a big idea.
- 1:17:33[SPEAKER_03]: I have to buy this kid.
- 1:17:34[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, Spencer.
- 1:17:35[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 1:17:36[SPEAKER_02]: This is probably my biggest buy at the list.
- 1:17:39[SPEAKER_02]: I think.
- 1:17:39[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, wow, just because like I thought he was awesome, but nobody's talking one thing I didn't want to be in a rocket Filetailer who played NFL for Yeah, I've taken my perspective on the thing on Browns Wait, what's up at the end of your the node?
- 1:17:51[SPEAKER_03]: Who are you GM of the North Carolina state?
- 1:17:53[SPEAKER_03]: Wolfpack who just lost to us now.
- 1:17:55[SPEAKER_02]: He was not the time now now it might have been might be the time to sell that stuff
- 1:18:02[SPEAKER_03]: But I think one thing, you see, there's going back to the drafts.
- 1:18:05[SPEAKER_03]: Like one thing you're hearing about Fano, 24-7 was like, oh, like, are there T-rex alarms?
- 1:18:09[SPEAKER_03]: Because this guy, who's going to even move into guard like once he gets to get a foul, like, so it was kind of cool for me to hear about, like, you see, like, pushing guys back out.
- 1:18:17[SPEAKER_03]: That's, that's gotta be a huge plus, right?
- 1:18:19[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think so.
- 1:18:20[SPEAKER_02]: And I also think that,
- 1:18:22[SPEAKER_02]: It's worth talking about his preseason performance, but also the fact, and again, there's two parts of this.
- 1:18:27[SPEAKER_02]: It's Fauna winning the job in Duan Jones losing it, but that's such a crazy thing.
- 1:18:32[SPEAKER_02]: He ran, he was three weeks into camp and he won the starting left tackle job.
- 1:18:36[SPEAKER_02]: I get he's a first round pick, but like, that's impressive.
- 1:18:39[SPEAKER_02]: That's impressive.
- 1:18:40[SPEAKER_01]: You know what we got to give credit to, too.
- 1:18:41[SPEAKER_01]: And I, uh,
- 1:18:42[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not trying to be prisoner of the moment.
- 1:18:45[SPEAKER_01]: If I am correct me, if I'm wrong.
- 1:18:48[SPEAKER_01]: But when have we came away and said we can single handedly single out and be like, no, Miles Garrett made DeWan Jones better.
- 1:18:57[SPEAKER_01]: Or Jerry versus single handedly.
- 1:19:00[SPEAKER_01]: We can pick out and be like, he has aided in the progression.
- 1:19:03[SPEAKER_01]: I think so.
- 1:19:04[SPEAKER_01]: Of Spencer Fundo.
- 1:19:05[SPEAKER_01]: And Fundo, Fano, Jesus Louise.
- 1:19:08[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I'm pretty, precies and for everyone.
- 1:19:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know what I mean?
- 1:19:13[SPEAKER_01]: You buy all the stock you want in them.
- 1:19:15[SPEAKER_01]: I think that little two week stretch that we got to see of Jared verse and phono go back and forth with each other.
- 1:19:22[SPEAKER_01]: Truly unlocked what we were expecting sponsor to be.
- 1:19:27[SPEAKER_01]: And now when we see it, it's not a question.
- 1:19:29[SPEAKER_01]: Now let's see it.
- 1:19:29[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, yeah.
- 1:19:30[SPEAKER_01]: No, he really got that dog in him.
- 1:19:32[SPEAKER_01]: So I give a lot of that credit.
- 1:19:34[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, Fano, Fano's got to go out there and make the place himself.
- 1:19:38[SPEAKER_01]: But you're leader.
- 1:19:39[SPEAKER_01]: The guy you just traded for, who everyone said there with defense was gonna crumble.
- 1:19:43[SPEAKER_01]: Literally is aiding in your foundational piece in Spencer Fano.
- 1:19:47[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, I'm, I might buy a 55 jersey after hearing you guys talk like that and you know, I do, I do think whether Miles was Miles was definitely less outward about his help or like going out to, you know, like you didn't see a often the clips after practice that doesn't mean he didn't aid those guys.
- 1:20:02[SPEAKER_02]: I think, but yeah, I don't, I don't want you to get
- 1:20:04[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm not trying to get the clip on social media more than prison.
- 1:20:07[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I get I get what you're saying.
- 1:20:09[SPEAKER_02]: I get what you're saying.
- 1:20:11[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just talking about the leadership has been the one thing that we've always tried to force miles to be.
- 1:20:15[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, that's fine.
- 1:20:16[SPEAKER_01]: He's not he don't have to be the leader.
- 1:20:18[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I'm not Spider-Man or Superman A leading nobody else, but himself, you know what I mean?
- 1:20:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:20:23[SPEAKER_01]: We got, we have, I don't even know who to compare Jared versus who is a superhero.
- 1:20:26[SPEAKER_01]: Like you said, I'm not a matchcrosby.
- 1:20:28[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not this.
- 1:20:28[SPEAKER_01]: We are witnessing something special in which makes Jared versus special.
- 1:20:33[SPEAKER_01]: And his leadership, I think, is his glaring shine to it.
- 1:20:36[SPEAKER_03]: I'm really excited to ask this question.
- 1:20:38[SPEAKER_03]: These last four are the four I'm most excited for.
- 1:20:40[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that was like the warm-up lap around the ranked guys.
- 1:20:41[SPEAKER_03]: Love it.
- 1:20:42[SPEAKER_03]: Buy sell hold stock in the Cleveland Browns offense.
- 1:20:48[SPEAKER_01]: Feed me more.
- 1:20:50[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I feel all of it.
- 1:20:53[SPEAKER_02]: I think it would depend on the price.
- 1:20:54[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's like, if you had to guess, let's say put an estimate on where people think the Browns often is going to finish.
- 1:21:06[SPEAKER_01]: We're peep, okay, well, you're not not us.
- 1:21:08[SPEAKER_01]: I want to say what people are going to roll up.
- 1:21:09[SPEAKER_02]: The general NFL media, let's say.
- 1:21:11[SPEAKER_01]: I think the general NFL media is going to have us in 20.
- 1:21:15[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think that's way too low.
- 1:21:17[SPEAKER_02]: I would hold it.
- 1:21:19[SPEAKER_03]: Are you guys holding?
- 1:21:19[SPEAKER_03]: Can I be the bearer of bad news?
- 1:21:21[SPEAKER_03]: You're jealous.
- 1:21:21[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to sell.
- 1:21:22[SPEAKER_03]: It's fair.
- 1:21:22[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:21:23[SPEAKER_03]: I think that it's not that I, I love KC.
- 1:21:26[SPEAKER_03]: I love Boston.
- 1:21:26[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:21:27[SPEAKER_03]: Spat, no.
- 1:21:28[SPEAKER_03]: These young kids are really awesome, but it's a year away.
- 1:21:31[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:21:31[SPEAKER_03]: The web series is going to be when you have to have.
- 1:21:34[SPEAKER_03]: One of those guys throwing the football all season long look that that just takes a bit of the excitement out of what you have Yep, the surrounding pieces you're building.
- 1:21:41[SPEAKER_03]: It's fair.
- 1:21:41[SPEAKER_03]: It's gonna be fun.
- 1:21:42[SPEAKER_03]: Are those receivers gonna be awesome?
- 1:21:44[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but I'm gonna sell right now as high as I can and then buy back in next season on the air.
- 1:21:48[SPEAKER_01]: You know who wasn't a year away
- 1:21:51[SPEAKER_01]: They just won the freakin' Super Bowl.
- 1:21:53[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I mean, like, we- Are you serious?
- 1:21:54[SPEAKER_01]: Are you serious?
- 1:21:55[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not, I'm not.
- 1:21:56[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not comparing.
- 1:21:57[SPEAKER_01]: What I'm pairing.
- 1:21:58[SPEAKER_01]: What I'm comparing is that because we're the Cleveland Browns, we are the only team that can't shock people.
- 1:22:05[SPEAKER_01]: We're the only team that can't be like, Oh, they're gonna do the J.
- 1:22:09[SPEAKER_01]: The J.W.
- 1:22:10[SPEAKER_01]: The J.W.
- 1:22:11[SPEAKER_01]: The J.W.
- 1:22:11[SPEAKER_01]: The Falkens have done it.
- 1:22:12[SPEAKER_01]: The Seahawks have done it.
- 1:22:13[SPEAKER_01]: You're a list of teams.
- 1:22:15[SPEAKER_01]: The Rans have done it multiple times.
- 1:22:17[SPEAKER_02]: see Hawks is not a fair comparison.
- 1:22:18[SPEAKER_02]: They were a game out of the playoff.
- 1:22:20[SPEAKER_01]: I'm talking about we are the only organization we did.
- 1:22:24[SPEAKER_01]: If you were to end the season last year and go back and look at all the things all the office this you have no offensive mind you have no weapons you they they addressed everything they addressed every single thing and yet see one though.
- 1:22:34[SPEAKER_01]: But we
- 1:22:35[SPEAKER_01]: what we've seen it's been working but has our new line yelling together is that how's that going that's a fair argument but to sit here and say that the Browns offense is just going to be ass is crazy when every year there is one team that exceeds an expectation but because we're brown and orange and we have the name Cleveland Browns on us there's not a shot in hell that it can happen for us
- 1:22:56[SPEAKER_01]: We have a quarter of that.
- 1:22:57[SPEAKER_01]: That's so stupid.
- 1:22:57[SPEAKER_01]: I can still throw the football.
- 1:22:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:23:00[SPEAKER_02]: I think the big arrow fan artist, the quarter.
- 1:23:02[SPEAKER_01]: In case he accepts the old Denzo boss and a hero fan have shown you, it don't matter who's throwing them the pill, they don't catch that bitch.
- 1:23:08[SPEAKER_01]: If you had James Winston, I'd be buying right now.
- 1:23:09[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not kidding.
- 1:23:11[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's serious in a second.
- 1:23:12[SPEAKER_01]: That's crazy because we won one game with James Winston.
- 1:23:15[SPEAKER_02]: Winds are in a quarter back side.
- 1:23:16[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not, I'm not.
- 1:23:17[SPEAKER_02]: Remember that Broncos game?
- 1:23:18[SPEAKER_02]: How bad that influence was, got it.
- 1:23:19[SPEAKER_01]: Did you do 500 yards?
- 1:23:20[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 1:23:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 1:23:21[SPEAKER_02]: I'll hold it.
- 1:23:23[SPEAKER_02]: I honestly think it's more a quarter back away than a year away like it like let's say the Browns traded for like let's say a trade for Anthony Richardson and AR was awesome
- 1:23:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think it's more important about the shark is or yes, exactly.
- 1:23:35[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly, but that's the big variable and that's probably the biggest variable you can have on a football team.
- 1:23:39[SPEAKER_03]: So in the national football again, other side though, Brown's defense.
- 1:23:42[SPEAKER_02]: This is going to be fun.
- 1:23:44[SPEAKER_02]: This is a scary one.
- 1:23:45[SPEAKER_02]: Give me a value weight where we think like where do you think the general public thinks the Brown's will finish?
- 1:23:49[SPEAKER_01]: Top 12.
- 1:23:50[SPEAKER_01]: I think I think there's low on our defense too.
- 1:23:52[SPEAKER_01]: Everyone thinks we're going to fall apart.
- 1:23:55[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, a party one five games question.
- 1:23:57[SPEAKER_03]: I think we're a top 15 defense top 15.
- 1:24:00[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like as long as you stay healthy, which is fair to say forever.
- 1:24:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, if you're saying top 15 whole, I think when you start to push top 10, I'm the defense on the health.
- 1:24:10[SPEAKER_02]: Like it's so depends on the depth.
- 1:24:11[SPEAKER_03]: back so it's just like it's a corner but if you could like if you could promise me guaranteed cornerback full health the whole year I think everyone in this room is talking about buying probably it's just like the fact like you shut her thinking about miles hard and being on to our chase every got in your life you know like there's just certain things you can't have.
- 1:24:26[SPEAKER_02]: any any team that while and actually that we didn't even talk about that with the bills like the bill's offense will flow through the slot with guys like Khalil Shakir Dalton King Kade not DJ Moore as much but like he'll be one on one with guys Skyler Bellos a guy who I really like like you can kid yeah yeah really good player those guys between the hashes are going to I think are going to eat the brown DBs up like that and I think honestly we look at if the browns make moves after this joint practice like look at the weaknesses they have
- 1:24:55[SPEAKER_02]: they've been looking for slot corners since we want to last season.
- 1:24:57[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think they found it.
- 1:24:58[SPEAKER_01]: I think without what I'm about to say, the Browns defense should be a top 15 no matter what.
- 1:25:04[SPEAKER_01]: I don't care about the loss of miles.
- 1:25:06[SPEAKER_01]: I really don't like this defense is still flying around.
- 1:25:09[SPEAKER_01]: Now when the injuries come in, that's a whole different game.
- 1:25:11[SPEAKER_01]: But I think if we want to talk about top 10, where you said you're a little bit scared of, that's going to be predicated on your offense.
- 1:25:17[SPEAKER_01]: That's fair.
- 1:25:18[SPEAKER_01]: If this offense can put up points, how many times have I told you, Max, if this team can score 23 to 24 points per game, it is going to be hard to beat this team because if this team gets a lead and I know what's different because I'm basing it off with the team with Miles Garrett.
- 1:25:33[SPEAKER_01]: Every time this team has had a lead,
- 1:25:35[SPEAKER_01]: good look.
- 1:25:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because it starts to get.
- 1:25:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:25:38[SPEAKER_01]: The scheme started to change up.
- 1:25:39[SPEAKER_01]: The blitz is start to look a little bit different.
- 1:25:40[SPEAKER_01]: Miles Garrett's playing basketball out there.
- 1:25:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:25:42[SPEAKER_01]: Like we're not going to see that.
- 1:25:44[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 1:25:44[SPEAKER_01]: But this team gets a lead.
- 1:25:45[SPEAKER_01]: Jared versus going to turn the blue rush up even more.
- 1:25:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:25:48[SPEAKER_01]: They've already been practicing it.
- 1:25:50[SPEAKER_01]: Think about when we sat there at training camp.
- 1:25:52[SPEAKER_01]: And every time we're like, oh my gosh, full start.
- 1:25:54[SPEAKER_01]: No, they were practicing different plays in the catering
- 1:25:58[SPEAKER_01]: And the defense of schemes and how they set up and show different things and the second that whistle blew that was the end of the play They're setting up for something.
- 1:26:06[SPEAKER_01]: So the defense can get fun But that's gonna be predicated on the offense and So the stock that I'm trying to get you out of by on the offense.
- 1:26:13[SPEAKER_01]: You have weapons that can score the ball now It's not like you're asking Anthony Schwartz to go catch a deep ball.
- 1:26:17[SPEAKER_01]: You're a half cake.
- 1:26:18[SPEAKER_01]: He's Casey concepts.
- 1:26:19[SPEAKER_01]: You already take a wrap around set of house You have Denzo Boston six before already making contested catches you
- 1:26:24[SPEAKER_01]: Harrel fan and you already know what time it's going to be with him cute.
- 1:26:27[SPEAKER_01]: Don't even look like his ankle was broke or his fibula Yeah, so like you have the weapons.
- 1:26:32[SPEAKER_01]: You now what looks like have the offensive mind Why would this defense fall out of the top 20 out of the top 15?
- 1:26:39[SPEAKER_01]: We should be talking about how do they get back into the top 10 and that's if this offense gets you a lead Good luck because of defense.
- 1:26:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I also think part of the offense helping the defense is complimentary football.
- 1:26:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, and in a week out of defense Yeah, yeah
- 1:26:52[SPEAKER_02]: Well, he didn't coin the phrase all this, but no, but here's what I'm worried about us doing and we did it on the show.
- 1:26:58[SPEAKER_02]: We can't say here and say we want more explosives from the Browns and then look at Todd Munkins offense that was six in time of possession last year because they run the ball and they check the ball down.
- 1:27:07[SPEAKER_02]: That's what we can't do.
- 1:27:07[SPEAKER_02]: We haven't seen a lot of that.
- 1:27:09[SPEAKER_02]: We yes, and it worked like it's been working.
- 1:27:11[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't want us to be like, yeah, we are doing our defense.
- 1:27:14[SPEAKER_02]: No favors.
- 1:27:15[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely no favors with the time of possession with how long we're holding on to the ball.
- 1:27:20[SPEAKER_02]: And I get point points is better than time possession, but we can't just like, oh, we need to throw the ball on field more.
- 1:27:26[SPEAKER_02]: What happens when you're forcing the ball down the field, you have a 30 second, three and out in your defense is back out there after letting up a touchdown.
- 1:27:31[SPEAKER_02]: Like that is also, yeah, that is a part of it.
- 1:27:34[SPEAKER_02]: I think the time possession is very important as well.
- 1:27:36[SPEAKER_02]: But I'll hold, I'll hold the Browns defense right now.
- 1:27:39[SPEAKER_03]: Speaking of the coach, and he will appear by cell-hold time-unker.
- 1:27:43[SPEAKER_02]: By.
- 1:27:44[SPEAKER_02]: I've been buying his stock after the first press conference.
- 1:27:47[SPEAKER_02]: I don't even like, I obviously care about the on-field product, but the press conference is just such a breath of fresh air, and he's like putting the media in, like, it's so awesome.
- 1:27:54[SPEAKER_02]: It's great.
- 1:27:54[SPEAKER_01]: Like putting them in this place.
- 1:27:55[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I got in the part of me like, like, wants to go on there and mess up, so we can just be like, you know, I didn't say that.
- 1:28:00[SPEAKER_01]: Like, yeah, all right, my bad.
- 1:28:02[SPEAKER_01]: I can't wait to actually see him hold these players accountable.
- 1:28:06[SPEAKER_01]: I think that right now he's still keeping it kosher.
- 1:28:09[SPEAKER_01]: We saw small glances of him get a little bit roudy at practice.
- 1:28:13[SPEAKER_01]: Some of it was towards the noise crew trying to get the volume up and stuff like that.
- 1:28:18[SPEAKER_01]: He had the one blow up to the close practice we didn't get to see.
- 1:28:22[SPEAKER_01]: So we know that there's going to be that moment where a player is held accountable.
- 1:28:27[SPEAKER_01]: I flashed back to the year we had James Winston and the whole thing with the head guys at the quarterback position at the helm and how that accountability was being held and how the locker room felt it.
- 1:28:40[SPEAKER_01]: You're not going to get that with Todd.
- 1:28:41[SPEAKER_01]: So the second a queue messes up or Spencer messes up or these young receivers or anybody on the defense Jared verse like mainly honestly No, I won't even say the young guys.
- 1:28:51[SPEAKER_01]: I would love to see a Denzel word get called out or a grant Delp it get called out or someone that's been on this roster who is a leader That hasn't lived up to their expectations because Todd will let us know so I think that I'm gonna buy as much stock as I possibly can but
- 1:29:06[SPEAKER_01]: We'll really get to see what he's about when things aren't going the proper way, which we'll see that probably week once.
- 1:29:13[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I got the, it's a loser answer.
- 1:29:15[SPEAKER_03]: I know it's a loser answer.
- 1:29:16[SPEAKER_03]: I'm telling you it had a time.
- 1:29:17[SPEAKER_03]: It's just a hold.
- 1:29:18[SPEAKER_03]: No, not, not a sell by anything.
- 1:29:19[SPEAKER_03]: It's just, it's, I don't want to jinx the guy.
- 1:29:21[SPEAKER_03]: Like, I do, I do like what he's saying.
- 1:29:23[SPEAKER_03]: I do like that the fact that it seems like he's probably going to be a bit more of a disciplinary on the players than Kevin's to dance.
- 1:29:28[SPEAKER_03]: Kevin was, but I also, I also, there was a day and a time and a moment on an August
- 1:29:35[SPEAKER_03]: wanted to wear if you don't wear brown and orange you don't matter shirts everywhere that might be in the code is quote we've ever heard no wait we still is the coldest quote we've ever heard our lives but it didn't really turn out one thing or the or the expert started it was a bang that was that was a word too many more the shirt yeah that was a bang or two where's he had not he's kind of was it's right and it's close for your boys right
- 1:29:55[SPEAKER_03]: The giant bill bell checks it was pretty good to hear right there isn't he was he was I don't think he is anymore He's kind of bump bumps around guys by sell hold the Cleveland football Browns making playoffs Give it to me and and Freddy kisses a volunteer assistant for the Clemson Tigers right now
- 1:30:19[SPEAKER_01]: That boy driver's land.
- 1:30:20[SPEAKER_01]: You say we need 10 wins.
- 1:30:22[SPEAKER_01]: I'm getting you to R. D. So that me play Austin's in with 10 wins on my boss stock.
- 1:30:26[SPEAKER_02]: I hope you I hope for one ten games for your sick I didn't even know like what what I'll hold it.
- 1:30:33[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not gonna be like I'm not gonna be like oh These lat this last month has made me feel worse about the browns being making playoffs I think there's still like A or nine teams the AFC that are better than them.
- 1:30:41[SPEAKER_02]: So I'll hold it listen everybody's boy.
- 1:30:43[SPEAKER_02]: Hey Well, he's by
- 1:30:45[SPEAKER_03]: Because everyone in a closet, it's not true, yeah.
- 1:30:47[SPEAKER_03]: All you gotta do is just go, oh and three in a salad, early in the day.
- 1:30:50[SPEAKER_01]: Just like our show we talked about last week, it's that $5 par late ticket that's $15,000.
- 1:30:56[SPEAKER_03]: I can throw a couple of dollars on there.
- 1:30:57[SPEAKER_03]: So there are two videos like the turning of pencil into a mansion.
- 1:31:00[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'm not that bad in Brownswick to play off.
- 1:31:01[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not gonna lose sleep because I threw $25 on the bronze to win to make it to the playoffs.
- 1:31:06[SPEAKER_01]: You know, buy me that stock.
- 1:31:08[SPEAKER_03]: Just a lot.
- 1:31:09[SPEAKER_03]: Guys, we're going to take a break here on Big Click Leave Alive.
- 1:31:11[SPEAKER_03]: We'll be back in a quick second max.
- 1:31:12[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you so much for joining us for a week of Brown's Preseason Ball.
- 1:31:17[SPEAKER_03]: Welcome back to Bigley Cleveland Live presented by Fandle Jack O'Rourke here alongside the Cleveland Browns.
- 1:31:21[SPEAKER_03]: Goat chefs say, and say, I know you have a money after by now it's stock.
- 1:31:27[SPEAKER_03]: So first of all, but second of all, we're going to put it on the record now.
- 1:31:30[SPEAKER_03]: I got some Browns theoretical some questions for you about this upcoming season.
- 1:31:35[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to need a yes or a no.
- 1:31:37[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to give you a yes or a no or a player's name for an answer.
- 1:31:40[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to come back to these at the end of the year and let me try there.
- 1:31:43[SPEAKER_01]: Keep in the seat, Tom.
- 1:31:44[SPEAKER_03]: We are keeping that there are seats we'll be kept on this one.
- 1:31:47[SPEAKER_03]: Week one QB, short Sanders or to Sean Watson.
- 1:31:50[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I'm going to Sean Watson as well.
- 1:31:52[SPEAKER_03]: Will Casey Concepcion eclipse a thousand receiving arts?
- 1:31:55[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 1:31:56[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going yes as well.
- 1:31:57[SPEAKER_03]: Spencer Fano starts all 17 of healthy.
- 1:32:02[SPEAKER_01]: If healthy, oh yeah.
- 1:32:03[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'm going yes as well.
- 1:32:04[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, so we're matched and so far.
- 1:32:06[SPEAKER_03]: Brown's at another pet.
- 1:32:08[SPEAKER_03]: Brown's at another veteran past rusher before week one.
- 1:32:11[SPEAKER_03]: Yes or no.
- 1:32:16[SPEAKER_01]: feels like they're trying like are we are we talking about big name or just a veteran in general because I don't think they're gonna get a big name I don't think we'll say for sake of argument it needs to be a 72-over-all or higher in Madden I'm gonna say no
- 1:32:31[SPEAKER_03]: It needs to be I was able to go out McGuire in Jason's.
- 1:32:33[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 1:32:34[SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
- 1:32:34[SPEAKER_01]: That's crazy.
- 1:32:35[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to go yes though.
- 1:32:37[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going gas on this one.
- 1:32:38[SPEAKER_03]: I do think the Brown.
- 1:32:39[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it's just off all the names of the little bit that there's a guy out there and you're getting towards caught week.
- 1:32:43[SPEAKER_03]: I think that's something that they'll for sure entertain to help Rune bring out in year one.
- 1:32:48[SPEAKER_03]: Browns make the playoffs.
- 1:32:49[SPEAKER_03]: Yes or no.
- 1:32:51[SPEAKER_01]: Why don't you ask you?
- 1:32:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:32:52[SPEAKER_03]: Well, it's so brown cinnish about 500.
- 1:32:55[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, okay, here's where we get interested.
- 1:32:57[SPEAKER_01]: No, I am I see here's why it was the real list for those keeping track No, like the real like you I'll be realistic here.
- 1:33:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I know obviously you guys should be it I mean if you don't know me my now when I when I'm going over the top like you really don't know me But like my realistic thoughts on the Browns record this year that six and a half I think dropped to five and half and my am I correct on that so they already dropped it
- 1:33:18[SPEAKER_03]: the miles trade dropped it.
- 1:33:19[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:33:20[SPEAKER_01]: I know I don't think it was the miles trade.
- 1:33:22[SPEAKER_01]: I'll stay put on the miles trade if I remember correctly.
- 1:33:25[SPEAKER_01]: This just recently dropped to five and a half if I if I remember correctly, but I think realistically the Browns are going to dog Vegas in terms of that.
- 1:33:33[SPEAKER_01]: Everyone's betting the under.
- 1:33:35[SPEAKER_01]: Seven is a seven.
- 1:33:36[SPEAKER_01]: I like seven to eight wins for the bra seven and nine realistically nine is one at that night could be like that oh my gosh We want to feel go but it missed the feel go, but like I truly think we're gonna dog We're gonna dog the books in terms of everyone who bet the under so Vegas is gonna take a bath on the Cleveland Brown So I don't know if so like realistically do the bronze me to play all's probably not realistically do they go over 500
- 1:33:59[SPEAKER_01]: probably not, but I could see them getting eight and nine seven and ten.
- 1:34:03[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 1:34:03[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's a massive building block of what you're coming off of.
- 1:34:06[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm I'm going to go know as well on make the playoffs and finish about five hundred, but I would would love to see you being that seven and nine range, but that don't mean I didn't I still don't got my stock in the playoffs in the five hundred.
- 1:34:16[SPEAKER_01]: I got stock in all that.
- 1:34:17[SPEAKER_03]: So Brown's finished top two in the FC North.
- 1:34:18[SPEAKER_03]: Are you out that?
- 1:34:22[SPEAKER_01]: We're in such a sticky situation with that because on one hand, I, you know, I've been on record countless times saying that I think the Pittsburgh Steelers are literally free falling off the cliff right now and they're just kind of fine by the season of their pants.
- 1:34:37[SPEAKER_01]: I am such a sucker for a storyline there and not going to let Aaron Rodgers go outside as long as he stays healthy.
- 1:34:42[SPEAKER_01]: I don't see how he goes outside.
- 1:34:44[SPEAKER_01]: And I just got this weird feeling.
- 1:34:46[SPEAKER_01]: It's for the first time you gave Joe and not we're not even talking all of that's a line you gave Joe Burrow a defense that shouldn't be below top 20 and that is scary But I'm a home or so we finish in top two I New year decided to live course so not too fast at the end.
- 1:35:04[SPEAKER_03]: I do not think including about the finish in the top two I I'll go third though.
- 1:35:08[SPEAKER_03]: I'll say it hurt.
- 1:35:09[SPEAKER_03]: I think right there.
- 1:35:09[SPEAKER_03]: No, dude.
- 1:35:10[SPEAKER_03]: Who leads the Browns and receiving arts this season?
- 1:35:13[SPEAKER_01]: Hmm, I've been on it the whole time.
- 1:35:17[SPEAKER_01]: I think KC's gonna be that guy, but I think for the first time, we'll have sense of Jarvis and Odell, I think they did it once, didn't they?
- 1:35:27[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think they ever went over a thousand together.
- 1:35:29[SPEAKER_01]: Who was it then?
- 1:35:30[SPEAKER_01]: It was Jarvis did it with somebody I thought did I, I truthfully I It was okay.
- 1:35:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think they did it one time.
- 1:35:38[SPEAKER_01]: I think we're gonna have 2,000 yard receivers now Is that gonna I don't think it's Boston this year even though my shirt says otherwise I think Boston's gonna be right on the cusp at that anywhere from 750 to like 8.50 900 yard game And we'll look back and be like
- 1:35:55[SPEAKER_01]: Damn if week three he didn't he just would have hold that one 50 yard bomb and he would have had it I think Harold Fannon and in a case he are going to do it so
- 1:36:05[SPEAKER_03]: You're right around there.
- 1:36:06[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 1:36:06[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:36:06[SPEAKER_03]: So you guys were right.
- 1:36:07[SPEAKER_03]: 2019, Jarvis and Odeldman over a thousand yards.
- 1:36:11[SPEAKER_03]: That was the most recent time since 2007, though, the 10 and 6 years.
- 1:36:14[SPEAKER_01]: That was a brilliant wins, Lowe and Brelin.
- 1:36:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 1:36:16[SPEAKER_03]: Those are the exact two that did it.
- 1:36:18[SPEAKER_03]: They, I'm going to go, I kind of like what Phil said, man.
- 1:36:22[SPEAKER_03]: Honestly, I love Denzel.
- 1:36:24[SPEAKER_03]: I'm loving Phil.
- 1:36:24[SPEAKER_03]: I think seeing that kick it going on the outside.
- 1:36:26[SPEAKER_03]: Like it adds such a layer to be able to have that vertical threat to this offense.
- 1:36:29[SPEAKER_03]: So I think Denzel Boston would be a thought when to put in for the most receiving arts this year.
- 1:36:36[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that should be... Oh!
- 1:36:39[SPEAKER_01]: I was going to go directly, I think your reverse has to lead the team of sacks for a lot of reasons.
- 1:36:44[SPEAKER_01]: And one of them that came out of his own mouth.
- 1:36:46[SPEAKER_01]: He's been on multiple press conferences.
- 1:36:48[SPEAKER_01]: He talked about it again with a DD kicker baller after the game or after he played his three snaps.
- 1:36:52[SPEAKER_01]: He said that the biggest emphasis that he's put on this year is finishing.
- 1:36:56[SPEAKER_01]: He said he's been pressuring everybody his entire career.
- 1:36:59[SPEAKER_01]: He wants to finish this year.
- 1:37:00[SPEAKER_01]: I expect him to have double digits.
- 1:37:02[SPEAKER_01]: He should have 15 sacks, but
- 1:37:06[SPEAKER_01]: Big butt.
- 1:37:07[SPEAKER_01]: There was a guy on pace for all pro-lashers who I think had 10 sacks before he got injured.
- 1:37:13[SPEAKER_01]: And that was Malik Collins.
- 1:37:15[SPEAKER_01]: And the Malik Collins comes back healthy and injured.
- 1:37:18[SPEAKER_01]: Don't sleep on Malik Collins leading this team in sacks.
- 1:37:20[SPEAKER_01]: He did have
- 1:37:23[SPEAKER_01]: where was the last year's I quickly pull it up he had six oh he had six and a half sacks last year so we was on pace to have double sacks last year don't sleep on the defensive tackle Malik Collins to get double to just sack so i'll say jury versus them and last one for you say biggest surprise player this season biggest surprise player this year i am going to go i don't know if it's going to be a surprise for some but i'm going to go mason grim
- 1:37:47[SPEAKER_01]: I think Mason Graham could really grab this not only position, but
- 1:37:54[SPEAKER_01]: stamp why Andrew Burry decided to do what he did and making him the fifth overall pick and trading back to get him.
- 1:38:01[SPEAKER_01]: He has a wide open opportunity now.
- 1:38:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, zero.
- 1:38:03[SPEAKER_01]: So what a half a sack last year.
- 1:38:05[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously when my Oscar has 23, there's not really many sacks to go around.
- 1:38:10[SPEAKER_01]: I'm expecting me to get to cost problem.
- 1:38:12[SPEAKER_01]: We've already heard the rumbles this this training camp, but that he's already doing that.
- 1:38:15[SPEAKER_01]: So I'll go I'll go Mason Graham.
- 1:38:19[SPEAKER_03]: I was talking to my personal Mac advisor, Jimmy Shannon, who's out there in the big play Cleveland comment section.
- 1:38:24[SPEAKER_03]: He needs some more folks in there, I'll also see some people contributing today.
- 1:38:29[SPEAKER_03]: And he said that this in manual work and kid just flies around the field, so it means we might pick.
- 1:38:34[SPEAKER_03]: I think it'll be really fun.
- 1:38:35[SPEAKER_03]: And obviously it's a little bit interesting because when you factor in Hickman and how they're going to use him, what kind of give you one more after you're doing?
- 1:38:40[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, you, what's here?
- 1:38:41[SPEAKER_01]: I was going to say, Isaiah Bond.
- 1:38:43[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, no, I also, how funny was that picture?
- 1:38:47[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, the BBC.
- 1:38:48[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that was a, we needed to go to meme, just start to pre-season, that was good for me.
- 1:38:52[SPEAKER_01]: And we got it.
- 1:38:53[SPEAKER_01]: No, I've been on record with the Will Fuller stuff too.
- 1:38:55[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's a, or Will Fuller.
- 1:38:56[SPEAKER_01]: That's where I was going with it.
- 1:38:57[SPEAKER_01]: I think Isaiah Bond is going to have that 2020, when he was with the Sean Watson type like season.
- 1:39:03[SPEAKER_01]: He had 800 yards or 900 yards and he had like seven or eight touchdowns.
- 1:39:07[SPEAKER_01]: I think Isaiah Bond is primed to be one of those guys that you look up every single week and is making catches that you're like, wow, thank God he's on my team.
- 1:39:17[SPEAKER_03]: So I believe that's just about all the time that we're gonna have for you guys to say, thank you for as always for tuning in.
