SPEAKER_01: But before they released that model, about six to eight months before then, they did something called training.

SPEAKER_01: It's basically making sure the AI learns how to do things.

SPEAKER_01: And one of the things that OpenAI did this last cycle during our training was like, hey, let's go ahead and isolate the AI and put it on its own little sandbox computer where it has no access to the internet and see if it can learn and develop by itself.

SPEAKER_01: Not only did it learn and develop by itself, but it found a way to get out of that sandbox.

SPEAKER_01: And this is probably one of the most interesting things about this project itself or this um hacking, is it's in an isolated environment and it found its way outside of the environment, and they didn't even know about it.

SPEAKER_01: They didn't even know that it was out in the wild in the world for almost a few months doing whatever it was doing, trying to help itself learn and fix and figure out this task that it was given, and before you know it, it actually ended up hacking another web or another company.

SPEAKER_01: It's basically when you give a computer no access to the internet, how does it download the packages it needs to do its work?
