Transcript
- Lucas: Hey, welcome back to Learn Malay with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. Today we're going to revisit something super useful—asking where things are. Lucas: Right. We've covered directions before, but let's do a quick review. The key phrase is 'Di mana', meaning 'where is'. Luna: Di mana. I remember that. So 'Di mana pasar?' means 'Where is the market?' Lucas: Exactly. Di mana pasar? Let's say it together: Di mana pasar? Luna: Di mana pasar? Lucas: Great. Now, 'Di mana hospital?' — where is the hospital? Luna: Di mana hospital? Lucas: Perfect. And 'Di mana masjid?' — where is the mosque? Luna: Di mana masjid? That sounds nice. So I can ask any place name after 'Di mana'? Lucas: Yes, exactly. Just put the place after Di mana. So, 'Di mana stesen bas?' — where is the bus station? Luna: Di mana stesen bas? Easy. So if I'm lost, I just say 'Di mana' plus the place. Lucas: You've got it. Let me test you. How do you ask 'Where is the toilet?' Luna: Umm, Di mana tandas? Lucas: Yeah! Di mana tandas. Perfect. You already know that from earlier episodes. Luna: Oh yeah, we did that. Okay, so this review is really helping. Lucas: Great. Now, you know, if Fexingo has been helping you make actual progress with Malay, the way this stays ad-free is listener support. You can buy me a coffee at buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. Luna: Yeah, it really helps keep the lessons coming. And it's a small way to say thanks if you find this useful. Lucas: Exactly. So back to practice. Let's do a little scene. Imagine you're at a bus stop and you want to find the hospital. What do you say? Luna: I'd say 'Di mana hospital?' Lucas: Perfect. And someone might point and say 'Di sana' — over there. But we'll save that for another time. For now, just remember 'Di mana' plus the place. Luna: So 'Di mana pasar?' 'Di mana hospital?' 'Di mana masjid?' I think I've got it. Lucas: You do. Let's say them all one more time. Di mana pasar? Luna: Di mana pasar? Lucas: Di mana hospital? Luna: Di mana hospital? Lucas: Di mana masjid? Luna: Di mana masjid? Lucas: Excellent. Keep practicing these. Next time you're in a Malay-speaking area, you'll be able to ask for directions confidently. Luna: Thanks, Lucas. See you next episode! Lucas: Bye for now! Practice these till we chat again.
