- 0:00That man can see. Yeah, that was that was great.
- 0:04I want to introduce myself a little bit before I introduce
- 0:07the network. I have a picture, I think of my
- 0:09family that we're going to show you here real quick.
- 0:13Can you see that? Because I can't see if you can
- 0:15see it. Where would I have to look to
- 0:16see what you see? So I would have to come around
- 0:19here and look at that. Aren't they awesome?
- 0:21Yes, I do have a son-in-law who's Nephilim a very large guy.
- 0:26But the favorite picture that we have of my family taking this
- 0:30summer is this picture. These are my grandkids and they
- 0:33are in birth order. Can you tell the oldest child of
- 0:37my son-in-law who is and, and I point him out because he
- 0:40actually planted the 39th church in our network.
- 0:43And the reason that we even started a network is because my
- 0:47daughter, believe it or not, got a scholarship to play basketball
- 0:50for the University of Iowa. And playing basketball, the
- 0:53University of Iowa. We went there and we saw that
- 0:55there wasn't a church at a Big 10 school that loved college
- 0:59students. And so we started salt company
- 1:01in 1987. And then we started a church
- 1:04that loved college students in 1994.
- 1:07But we thought people were doing that everywhere.
- 1:09But when my daughter got a scholarship to play University
- 1:12of Iowa, we realized there wasn't a church that loved
- 1:15college students, and we started a salt company there.
- 1:18And so God prospered and blessed that church.
- 1:20Ended up falling in love with one of the men's players who now
- 1:24has planted our 39th church. Just so you know, Saint City
- 1:28Chapel is the 34th church in our network.
- 1:32And we now have 4040 churches in the network.
- 1:37And we have plans for 12 more and 25 and 26, and then also
- 1:42have planters preparing for 28 and 29.
- 1:45And the goal is that we would have a church and all the major
- 1:49university centers in North America, 400 of them in total.
- 1:53And the reason we go to the majors first is because once we
- 1:56get the majors, we can do the minors.
- 1:57Guys. When we started Salt Company, we
- 1:59never thought there'd be two. When we started Salt Company, we
- 2:02were just a small Christian ministry on the campus of Iowa
- 2:06State University, about 50 college students.
- 2:09And now every single week in the 40 salt companies, there's
- 2:1217,000 students who attend Salt Company weekly.
- 2:17And in our 40 churches, over 35,000 people that come every
- 2:22week. God is doing something
- 2:24extraordinary This year alone or last year, and now it's 2026, we
- 2:28saw 2856 people follow Christ in believers baptism.
- 2:34The vast majority of them are college students.
- 2:37It is crazy to see what God is doing.
- 2:40So this morning we want to talk about this a little bit.
- 2:44When you come here on the weekends, most of the time
- 2:46Bran's just going to open the Word of God and teach you the
- 2:48Scripture. And so if I don't root something
- 2:51in the Word of God, I would be a charlatan, right?
- 2:53And so the verse for today is first Timothy chapter 4, verse
- 2:5812. And it says this, Don't let
- 3:00anyone look down on you because you're young.
- 3:02Only in every way set an example of their believers in speech and
- 3:06conduct and love and faith and purity.
- 3:09And I've decided to entitle this message World changers.
- 3:12But I've never walked into any of our facilities and saw that
- 3:16on the wall. Did you read that?
- 3:17It says what begins here changes the world.
- 3:23That's a false statement of any junior high I've been a part of.
- 3:28But when you plant a church in the junior high, maybe that
- 3:36fits. Could you dream with me just a
- 3:40little bit about what God might do in this place?
- 3:46Could you dream with me just a little bit about a generation
- 3:51who emerges that literally changes the world, not with
- 3:55money or politics or power, but with prayer and faith and
- 4:00courage and the gospel of Jesus Christ?
- 4:05Could you imagine with me for a little bit that God would begin
- 4:09a movement at this giant university and the other
- 4:13universities that are connected to this valley that would
- 4:17literally transform and change the world?
- 4:22Do you know, it's an undeniable fact that you can observe in all
- 4:27of history that I think that you can predict into the future that
- 4:31God has a pattern. God uses young people who are
- 4:38bold in faith and godly in living and willing to step out
- 4:43into whatever sphere he calls them to, to literally change the
- 4:47world. If you're young this morning, I
- 4:50want to let you know that most people in my generation look at
- 4:53your generation and says you guys are in need of drastic
- 4:57change. Here's what God would say to you
- 5:02this morning. No, you're world changers.
- 5:11You see the way God works if you read your Bible.
- 5:14Have you ever read about this man Joseph, who at 17 was sold
- 5:17into slavery, rejected by his own family, but had such a heart
- 5:21for God that he literally became a world changer, second command
- 5:25in all of Egypt, saving all of the people of God?
- 5:29Have you read about Samuel, who is a young boy who had a priest
- 5:31who led him, who raised terrible sons, but even as a child God
- 5:35began to speak to him and he said, yes, Lord, your servant is
- 5:38listening. And Samuel has a child, became a
- 5:41world changer and a king anointer.
- 5:44What about David, the youngest of eight brothers whose dad
- 5:47didn't even see enough worth in him to have him presented to the
- 5:51prophet to be anointed? And yet God said David the
- 5:55weakest of all. He is my man who became a world
- 5:58changer. What about Josiah?
- 5:59He became the king at 8. Who would ever do that?
- 6:03But at 16, he began to read the word of God, and it so changed
- 6:07his life that he shared it with all of the people and he became
- 6:10a world changer. What about Daniel and he's three
- 6:13friends. Have you read this story?
- 6:15Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who were brutally emasculated in
- 6:21order to serve in the King's court.
- 6:23And yet their faith in God, in spite of their circumstances,
- 6:28enabled them to win two Pagan kings, to not be eaten by lions,
- 6:34and to survive the furnace, the fiery furnace.
- 6:38They were world changers. What about Jeremiah, a great
- 6:44prophet of God at 17 who felt the call of God in his life and
- 6:49he began to prophecy in a dark time and became a world changer?
- 6:54What about Ruth the Moabites? Who is untimely born and in her
- 6:5820s was widowed and yet she was committed to her mother-in-law
- 7:02and to the people of God and became one who is now mentioned
- 7:05in the lineage of our Savior Jesus Christ.
- 7:08What about Esther, a young teenage beauty queen who risked
- 7:13her life to save the people of God And guys, maybe the most
- 7:18prominent of all the teenagers that God used, Mary, a poor
- 7:27virgin girl who would become the vessel of the king of the
- 7:33universe. So when you do something this
- 7:38morning, if you're 16 to 25, that's random, but would you
- 7:43stand up 16 to 25? Yeah.
- 7:56Say, say Chapel. Look at your church.
- 8:03I want to read this verse over you.
- 8:06Don't let anyone despise you because you're young, but set an
- 8:12example for the believers in speech and conduct, in love and
- 8:15faith and impurity. Here's what I say to you.
- 8:20God is not waiting for you to grow up.
- 8:25He's waiting for you to step up. From the beginning of human
- 8:35history, God is looking for men like you and women like you who
- 8:40will say, here I am, God, send me.
- 8:42One way that you can look at this verse is to say, yeah, no
- 8:45older person is going to look down on me.
- 8:49I'm going to stand up for my rights.
- 8:51I'm going to stand up for myself.
- 8:53I'm going to fight my way to the top.
- 8:54Here's another way to look at it.
- 8:56Don't let your youth be an excuse for godless living.
- 9:03The decisions you're making today are going to affect the
- 9:06rest of your life, even as an old man like me.
- 9:11And the godly decisions you make will shape the rest of your
- 9:14life, even as an old man like me.
- 9:18Don't let your youth be an excuse for godless behavior.
- 9:23And if you're not young, you're sitting down.
- 9:25Some of you barely made it. I can see it guys, if you
- 9:31despise this generation, who is that on?
- 9:40And maybe God is calling us to not despise this generation and
- 9:43maybe we would see this person say, I don't want to be like
- 9:46that. I want to be a person who
- 9:49challenges the next generation and uses my resources and my
- 9:53life to lift them up for the good and glory of God.
- 9:58Thank you young people for standing.
- 9:59What a beautiful picture of the church.
- 10:01You can sit down. Let me tell you why I'm a big
- 10:06fan of this. Jesus was a big fan of this.
- 10:10Have you ever thought about this?
- 10:11I'm going to say something maybe that you have never heard
- 10:12before, but if you haven't heard, it's because you've not
- 10:14been taught the word of God. Jesus chose 12 men, most likely
- 10:23teenagers. He discipled them for three to 3
- 10:291/2 years, and then he commissioned them to change the
- 10:33world. Now, let me say it again.
- 10:36God chose 12 men, only 11 good ones, most likely teenagers.
- 10:47And you're going to say where you saw that?
- 10:48I'm going to show it to you in the Bible.
- 10:49OK, Train them for 3 1/2 years, still mostly teenagers, and then
- 10:56gave them the Great Commission and after they were filled with
- 11:00the Holy Spirit, they became the ones who changed the world.
- 11:04They're responsible for your faith in Christ.
- 11:10I was reading randomly in my Bible reading plan, Matthew 17,
- 11:14and somehow was studying also an Old Testament plan in Exodus 30,
- 11:18and I came across this verse related to Matthew 17.
- 11:22Now you've never heard maybe Matthew 1724 to 27 taught
- 11:26because it's a random passage, but if you've read your Bible,
- 11:29maybe familiar with it. And if you're not familiar with
- 11:31it, I'll help you be familiar with it.
- 11:33So Peter was a fisherman, never caught fish unless Jesus came in
- 11:35to go fishing. And one day in his journey with
- 11:38Jesus, Jesus was to convert them with all his disciples.
- 11:41And they walked into the temple. And the temple taxers said, do
- 11:45your disciples pay temple tax? And they were a little bit
- 11:48stunned. They were all there.
- 11:50And so Jesus said to Peter, why don't you go fishing?
- 11:55And when you catch a fish, open its mouth and there'll be a coin
- 11:58in its mouth. And there's enough money in
- 12:00there to pay the tax for you and for me.
- 12:03And so that's what Peter did. You know, I don't know if you're
- 12:05a fisherman, but usually you can't find fish in their mouth.
- 12:08The best you can find is maybe another fish, right?
- 12:11But I've looked ever since this verse and there's no money in
- 12:15fish's mouth. What is that story all about
- 12:19that God's knows the money on the bottom of the ocean.
- 12:22He can get fish to pick it up and get it on your hook if
- 12:24that's what you need that he can provide for.
- 12:25I've, I, I can't imagine what pastors have said about this
- 12:29passage. It's because they never read
- 12:32Exodus 30, because it's a clue for us about the age of the
- 12:37disciples. Because you see, when did you
- 12:39have to pay temple tax? You had to pay temple tax when
- 12:42you were 20 years old or older. If you're under 20, you didn't
- 12:47have to pay. Who was there and Capernaum, All
- 12:49of them. Who was the rabbi?
- 12:52Jesus, Who was he responsible to pay for?
- 12:54All of them. How many had to pay Peter and
- 13:02Jesus? You say?
- 13:03Well, I'm not convinced. Do you know anything about
- 13:06history? Do you study history?
- 13:07Here's the ancient Jewish education tradition, and maybe
- 13:10this will ring a bell for you. At five, children began to study
- 13:13the Scriptures. At 10, they studied the Mishnah,
- 13:16which was the authoritative traditional learning.
- 13:19At 13, fathers were responsible to teach their sons the Torah,
- 13:23which is the first five books of the Bible.
- 13:26At 15, if they were chosen by a rabbi because of wealth or
- 13:32academic prowess, they could go into a formal education of
- 13:37Judaism. Otherwise they would apprentice
- 13:40with their father in his business.
- 13:43Jesus was a what? Why?
- 13:47Joseph was a Carpenter, right? At 18, most married, especially
- 13:54the men. For women, it was earlier at 20,
- 13:58they could pursue their own business or trade.
- 14:01And generally for the very most, you couldn't be a rabbi to where
- 14:06you're 30. So how old was Jesus when he
- 14:08began to pick his disciples and he lived in a particular
- 14:13culture. And who did you pick?
- 14:16Who was available, who wasn't involved in business yet, who
- 14:19wasn't doing their own thing yet, who wasn't married yet, who
- 14:22were being trained as disciples in that culture?
- 14:24He said everybody has cults. It was teenagers, men who were
- 14:2715 to 18 years old most likely. You see, I'm not convinced yet.
- 14:31OK, so Jesus used a term to talk to his disciples.
- 14:40Here are the 2 terms. They're Greek terms.
- 14:42I won't just tell you the terms because you wouldn't remember
- 14:44that anyway. But they meant little children.
- 14:51Can you imagine a 30 year old walking around with other
- 14:53bearded 30 year olds and he's calling them kids now.
- 14:57I call college students kids sometimes because my kids are, I
- 15:01have a 40 year old now, right? But but they said we're no kids.
- 15:04And I said I don't like doing that.
- 15:06But my peers when I was 30, I didn't call them children.
- 15:09And even at the end of the journey, Matthew or John chapter
- 15:1221, when they're on the beach, he cried out to the little
- 15:15children. Do you have any fish?
- 15:21And you know what the response was?
- 15:23It's the Lord, he said, kids, a new commandment.
- 15:30I give you the terms that he uses, and I can give you 7 or 10
- 15:35examples. We just don't have time to do
- 15:37this. But this is my favorite one.
- 15:39Have you noticed the behavior of the disciples?
- 15:45They act like grown men to you. OK, what was their most
- 15:50prominent argument that they had all of the time?
- 15:55Answer. Who is the greatest That's a
- 16:00high schooler if you've ever seen one.
- 16:03You know any high school athletes, they all think they're
- 16:05going to go pro, right? They don't even realize they're
- 16:10not athletes until they go to college.
- 16:12But some of them go to D2 school, so they still think
- 16:14they're athletes. The only real athletes and
- 16:16culture are those who get paid for it and all the parents,
- 16:20right? They think their kids are going
- 16:22to go pro or at least make the Olympics.
- 16:26Guys, they are with the GOAT. Jesus is walking on water.
- 16:35He's raising the dead. He's casting out demons.
- 16:38He's making blind people see deaf people talk.
- 16:42He is taking on guys who break chains and he calms them down
- 16:45like that. The wind and the waves.
- 16:47He settles it all. And what do they do after that?
- 16:50Even after they seem transfigured?
- 16:52He is glowing. He's a glowing human.
- 17:00I'm the greatest. And they fought about it a lot
- 17:11and even got their mom involved. Salome, you know, she came.
- 17:18Jesus. I don't know.
- 17:19I know. You see, my kids picked them
- 17:22pretty great. I can't decide which one of them
- 17:26is the greatest. I know they've been arguing.
- 17:27It's one of them. And it's clearly you're better,
- 17:36but which one's going to sit on your right left.
- 17:38You choose both my sons one right, one left.
- 17:42You talk about a bulldozer Mom, have you ever coached a a use
- 17:46right. You guys know exact people are
- 17:51people always people. Here's my point.
- 18:02Jesus told chose 12 men. And if you don't believe me,
- 18:06just chat it, it'll agree with me.
- 18:08I promise. Likely teenagers trained them 3
- 18:141/2 years, called them change the world.
- 18:20Sound like college to you? Not only did he call them
- 18:26disciples, which was learners, but he also called them
- 18:30apostles, which means sent. And so from the day that he
- 18:34chose them, he said, I'm going to send you.
- 18:36And God called Saul as well, not as an old man who had authority,
- 18:40but as a young man. And the word used there is also
- 18:43the word that's used for a 15 to a 20 something guy when he
- 18:48called him an axe when he was watching the coats.
- 18:52And then Paul repeated that because he chose Timothy and
- 18:55Titus. But it's not just youth that God
- 18:58uses, it's godly youth that God uses.
- 19:01But it's not just godly youth that God uses.
- 19:03It's godly youth who believe in God and it's experience through
- 19:06prayer. The first church before the Holy
- 19:10Spirit came after Jesus ascended into heaven, before Pentecost.
- 19:14He was there 40 days, and he left him for 10 days.
- 19:16And what did they do for 10 days?
- 19:17For 10 days, they had a church prayer meeting.
- 19:22Imagine a 10 day prayer meeting Pastor Brandon That'd be pretty
- 19:25cool right And what is Jesus is 1 request of us, his personal
- 19:33request of us. We have it as our theme verse in
- 19:35the network. Luke 10 to it says you see the
- 19:38fields are white and harvest. Therefore pray to the Lord of
- 19:43the harvest that he would send forth laborers into the harvest
- 19:46and the word that he uses for pray they there is not just any
- 19:50word for prayer. It's not the most common word
- 19:52for prayer. It's not even the second most
- 19:54common word for prayer. It is the singular least word
- 19:57used for prayer because it means to beg.
- 20:00It's most often translated to beg, Cry out to God that he
- 20:05would send forth laborers. So the reaching the next
- 20:10generation has been the pattern of God, I believe from biblical
- 20:15history. But it's not just from biblical
- 20:17history through the disciples. It is every major movement of
- 20:21God that we've seen in this country and in the world.
- 20:27Oh, you don't believe me? Well, let's review it together.
- 20:30Have you heard of this? the Reformation, maybe Martin
- 20:39Luther or John Calvin? How old were they when they
- 20:45started these movements of God that are still going today?
- 20:48Yeah. Martin Luther was 32.
- 20:50John Calvin was 25. In the 1500s, God began a
- 20:54movement with them. In the 1600s and early 1700s,
- 20:57when universities were established in our country, did
- 21:00you know this? They were established as
- 21:02seminaries, yes. Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Brown,
- 21:05Rutgers, Georgetown, and others. Even University of Florida was
- 21:09established as a seminary to train pastors for the churches.
- 21:15Their mottos, their initial mile is Princeton cursed?
- 21:19Is all learning that is contrary to the cross of Christ.
- 21:23Harvard truth for Christ in his church.
- 21:26The original motto, Yale truth is given by God.
- 21:30Light comes from Christ and the scriptures.
- 21:33Is that what students that are going there getting these days?
- 21:35In fact, we planted a church in Syracuse, NY on a campus.
- 21:40Syracuse, University of Syracuse was established by the Methodist
- 21:43to train missionaries to go overseas.
- 21:45And they won't even let us be a Christian organization on
- 21:48campus. But if you're a godless student
- 21:52organization, you are welcome. Isn't that that's crazy?
- 21:56I digress. The first great Awakening in
- 22:031700s. Maybe you've heard these names.
- 22:06If you haven't, you should read about them and study them.
- 22:08George Whitfield at 21. Jonathan Edwards at 19.
- 22:11John Wesley at 24 Whitfield has severe asthma and he rose every
- 22:20morning at 4 O clock in the morning and he read his Bible on
- 22:23his knees. Historians say that he preached
- 22:252 to three times daily and often preached more than 40 hours a
- 22:29week. He preached more than 18,000
- 22:31sermons in his 34 years of public ministry.
- 22:34John Wesley who was friends with him started Methodism.
- 22:37He's father of Methodism. He travelled the equivalent of 6
- 22:41times around the globe preaching to the colonies on horseback.
- 22:49These men were beasts and God used them to change the world.
- 22:56The Pietist movement, which gave birth to small group Bible study
- 23:00in the mass printing distribution of Bibles in the
- 23:02modern mission movement, began a 24/7 prayer meeting that began
- 23:07August 17th. To get this, it began August
- 23:1117th August of 1727 and encompass every minute of every
- 23:18hour of every day. For how many years?
- 23:20Take a wild guess, somebody be bold, 26100 years.
- 23:31It began with one college student, a professor actually,
- 23:38Philip Spencer, and a couple of universities and a handful of
- 23:42committed students. 100 years change the world.
- 23:48The second great awakening, The 1800s maybe?
- 23:50I've heard of DL Moody, he was 21.
- 23:52CT stud. If I could pick a pastor name
- 23:54that'd be it. Pastor stud.
- 23:59Charles Spurgeon guys, when he began he was 16.
- 24:03The Prince of preachers. Studs famous quote.
- 24:08Is this only one life? It soon will pass.
- 24:11Only what is done for Christ will last.
- 24:13My hope is when I die that hell rejoices, that I'm out of the
- 24:16fight. In 19 O 4, the Welsh revival was
- 24:20sparked by one student, Evan Roberts.
- 24:22He had a dream that he preached to 17 students.
- 24:25He used to pray 4 hours a night. College students, he used to
- 24:28pray 4 hours a night. I talked to students today and
- 24:30they go, wow, who can do that? Well, you ever gone to a
- 24:38football game? We can do that with energy.
- 24:41I went to good basketball game last night, but you guys got to
- 24:44get some fans. We did it for two hours.
- 24:49Oh I, I love this little step. Did you know the average teen
- 24:53plays 35 hours of video games a week?
- 24:574 * 7 is only 28. They can play video games more
- 25:02than they can pray, right? Call of Duty has been played the
- 25:05equivalent of over 3,000,000 years, Fortnite over 10 million
- 25:15years. You think those are benefiting
- 25:18your life? What if you exchanged video
- 25:22games for prayer, or watching sports for prayer or or
- 25:25scrolling the social media for prayer?
- 25:28Well, this guy, Evan Roberts did it and he preached his first
- 25:31sermon to 17 people, eventually leading to over 100,000
- 25:35conversions in Wales alone. And from that rival, from that
- 25:40revival sparked a movement where over 20 million people came to
- 25:44Christ. He's done it before, he'll do it
- 26:02again in our country. Maybe you've heard of the
- 26:08parachurch movement started in the mid 1900s.
- 26:12Nineteen 33 a man named Dawson Trotman at 27 started the
- 26:16Navigators. In 1941, Stacy Wood came over
- 26:20from Europe. A young Canadian college pastor
- 26:24started inter varsity in our country. 1951 a man named Bill
- 26:30Bright at 30 started Campus Crusade for Christ, known as
- 26:33Crew. And all of those ministries
- 26:36swept across the country, reaching hundreds of thousands
- 26:40of students and most campuses extended missions literally and
- 26:43globally to the ends of the earth.
- 26:50Today's a new day. All of those things in the past
- 26:55are dying and declining. In fact, over 85% of churches
- 27:03are dying and declining. More churches will close their
- 27:08doors and sell their buildings for coffee shop this year.
- 27:11Then churches will be planted. The least active hour of the
- 27:20American People group is Sunday morning.
- 27:25Guys, I have seen your traffic and I do not like it.
- 27:28No traffic this morning, but I believe God's doing the fresh
- 27:37work in this generation. The gospel is alive and well,
- 27:42and I believe God is using college students and godly young
- 27:45leaders to bring a new revival to this country.
- 27:47That's my prayer. That's what I've given my life
- 27:49for. And if God would give me two
- 27:51lifetimes, I double down again. What begins here changes the
- 28:02world. Do you believe that?
- 28:12Why not you? Why not here?
- 28:22Why not now? You think your campus needs
- 28:25Christ? You think your city needs
- 28:28Christ? You think anything this world
- 28:31offers is going to change their lives and change their forever
- 28:36other than Christ. Deal Moody was inspired.
- 28:42He was selling shoes, actually. And he was inspired by a pastor
- 28:45who said the world is yet to see what God would do with one man
- 28:52or one woman who was fully devoted to him.
- 28:58The world has yet to see what God would do with one man or one
- 29:03woman fully devoted him. And he heard that and he felt
- 29:08the conviction of God. And you can read it, he said.
- 29:14He said to God, I want to be that man.
- 29:23Deal Moody became a world changer, not because of Deal
- 29:27Moody, but because of God. A lot of the names I mentioned
- 29:33to Gay you'd you've never heard of and that's OK who cares?
- 29:38We're not going to sing songs to Deal Moody or CT stud George
- 29:43Whitfield or John Wesley. They're just men and they were
- 29:46broken and fallen men. But there is a Savior.
- 29:49He is the man who is God, Jesus Christ, and he lived the perfect
- 29:54life and he died a sinner's death and he resurrected.
- 29:58He conquered death. Why?
- 29:59So that he could empower us to literally be world changers
- 30:03through him. I love St.
- 30:06City Chapel. I like the name summer churches.
- 30:08They don't pick the best name. You know some of my kids didn't
- 30:11pick the best kids grandkids names either, right?
- 30:14They don't tell me what they're going to name their kids because
- 30:16they're afraid that I will disdain the name.
- 30:19And they are right. So I need single symbols,
- 30:23syllables, and I need them to not rhyme.
- 30:26I was struggling, you know, with all the deluge kids because
- 30:29they're all BS and I didn't know which order they were in.
- 30:32You know, Blair and Brooks and Billy and Braylon.
- 30:40No Blakely. See, I have a Braylon.
- 30:43I have a Braylon. Braxton Dachshund.
- 30:45I can't remember all of them anyway, so our churches, they
- 30:47pick their names and some of them are good, some are not so
- 30:51great. Way above average.
- 30:52St. City Chapel.
- 30:53OK, just in my opinion. In my opinion.
- 30:57But there's a church that's called the Commons and it's in
- 31:03Michigan State. And here's why it's named the
- 31:05Commons. One of my favorite verses in all
- 31:07the Bible. Acts 413 When they observed the
- 31:12boldness of Peter and John and they realized that they were
- 31:16uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed and recognized
- 31:22that they had been with Jesus. The two Greek words uneducated
- 31:25and untrained are literally idiotase right and unschooled.
- 31:36OK, so we get the Greek word. What do you think is the English
- 31:40word we get from the Greek word idiotase?
- 31:45So this verse says these were uneducated idiots and yet
- 31:57everybody knew they'd been with Jesus.
- 32:01Wow. Show me a college student who
- 32:04spends my time with Jesus and I'll show you a world changer.
- 32:07Because their life is different, their business is different, and
- 32:10God's anointing is on their life.
- 32:13And our dream is that God would use a bunch of idiots.
- 32:16We're all educated because most of us are going to college,
- 32:19right? To see a church that loves
- 32:23college students planted at every major university in this
- 32:26nation and literally around the globe.
- 32:30We're praying for a fresh movement of God where 100 years
- 32:35from now somebody will be standing up talking about God,
- 32:39going after young people who believe him with all of their
- 32:42hearts and give their lives for God.
- 32:45And mention someday in 2025 there was something that
- 32:52happened in Tempe, AZ that the only explanation that the world
- 32:59has is God did it. See Paul writes about this in
- 33:05Ephesians 3 verse 20 says now to him who's able to do
- 33:07immeasurably more than we think, dream or imagine, to him be the
- 33:11glory forever and ever in the church now forever more.
- 33:14Here's the thing about the apostle Paul.
- 33:17He wasn't talking about something out there.
- 33:21He was sitting in the church with Jews and Gentiles and slave
- 33:25and free and barbarian and Scythian and male and female,
- 33:29and he was actually praying a doxology because he was going
- 33:34wow to him is able to do wow. God's got a bigger wow.
- 33:47We've seen the movement of God that would have blown the
- 33:49Apostle Paul away. And when we started Salt Company
- 33:56in 1987 and Iowa State University, we never thought
- 34:00there'd be two. And I'm already in the wow of
- 34:02the doxology. But I'm telling you, we have 330
- 34:06staff in salt Company around this country who believe that we
- 34:08don't plant all 400, we will have failed.
- 34:14And if that happens, and I believe it will, we'll have a
- 34:21move of God in our lifetime that's been unprecedented in any
- 34:25of our lives. And we need that now more than
- 34:28ever. God help us.
- 34:31Jesus, thank you for the world changers in this room.
- 34:35Help us as the older generation to never despise the younger
- 34:40generation and help the younger generation to fully be devoted
- 34:44to you for all of their lives that they would live with no
- 34:47regrets. God, thank you for the leaders
- 34:51that are here, the men and women who have said yes to you.
- 34:56And I pray that two years from now, five years from now, 10
- 35:01years from now, 20 years from now, 30 years from now, they
- 35:03look back on this moment and they say, wow, look what God has
- 35:08done. And Lord, we pray that you would
- 35:11continue to bless us, but not just us, every single man or
- 35:16woman who claims your name and proclaims your word.
- 35:23Because now we're not winning this battle for souls.
- 35:25God, the harvest is still plentiful.
- 35:27The laborers are few. We cry out to you more, more,
- 35:30please, please God, more spark a fire in this flame that in this
- 35:36place that would never go out, that would burn until you return
- 35:42for your good and for your glory.
- 35:44We pray in Jesus name, Amen.
