Transcript
- 0:10SPEAKER_00: Welcome to the Daily Rider, where we share a lesson each day to help you cultivate the habits for creative success.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: Have you ever held up an hourglass and looked at it closely?
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: From a distance, the sand looks as though it was one single element that can snake through the bottleneck between the top and the bottom of the hourglass.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: But upon closer inspection, you can see that it's just thousands and thousands of tiny grains.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: The average adult will live somewhere around 27,000 days.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: And that seems like a lot, but if you're a middle-aged person like me, for example, half of those days are already gone.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: Every day you live is another day spent.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: Every week is another seven days gone.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: And of course, every year takes away another 365 days.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: 366 if you're in a leap year.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: In fact, you're spending one of your days right now.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: The clock never stops, it's always running.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: Are you using this day well?
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: And will you be proud of how you used it come tomorrow?
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: You know it's important to remember this.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: Your time on Earth is limited.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: If you don't write today, that's one less day you have to make your writing dreams a reality.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: There's no time like the present.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: Here's today's daily question.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: Are you using your time today with an awareness that you will never get this day back?
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: Thanks so much for listening to today's episode.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: If you've been listening to this show for any length of time, you know that one of the four practices of a great writer is creativity.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: And in order to stay creative, you've got to have great input.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: And that's where writing prompts come in.
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: A writing prompt is a sentence or two that helps you break through creative blocks, brainstorm new ideas, and get back into a state of flow.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: Writing prompts are an awesome creative tool for journaling, storytelling, creative writing, stress relief, social media posts, and so much more.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: But the great news is that you don't have to create these yourself.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: We've put together an amazing package of 365 daily writing prompts.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: So every day for the next year, you can have a shot of inspiration delivered straight to your inbox.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: You can check it out at dailywriterlife.comslash writing prompts.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: Thanks, and I'll see you tomorrow.
