- Speedcafe Team: This week on Full Credit to the Noise, GT's hit the strip by the tip. Life has been breathed into Jack Duwan's F1 career. And is Max heading to Bathurst? Welcome to Full Credit to the Noise. Well, hello, good morning, good afternoon, good evening, and welcome to full credit to the noise. You can find this podcast on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook at FCTTN Podcast. You can find me on Instagram, Twitter, Blue Sky and Facebook at Former Underscore Legend. You find the bike across me on Twitter at AVL underscore motorsport. He's on Instagram at AVL dot motorsport. He's a man who this week has again came out in support of Ray Gun after her rest recent Netflix documentary has renewed public criticisms of her breakdancing styles. He's been announced as the new support act for Ed Sheeran, and tonight he's wearing a mood ring. Welcome to Speed Cafe's Andrew Van Lewen. Hello, former. As a city of Fremantle resident, let me tell you that my mood ring is purple right now. You know I'd love my Geelong cats, but it's hard not to get swept up in the ⁓ in the warfy vibes in this part of the world right now. Let me tell you that. Can you tell me, what is warfy time? ⁓ Because it sounds pathetic from this side of the country, but it sounds the worst thing I've ever heard. I think it was something that Matthew Pavlich came up with in a sort of like a rousing three quarter times huddle at some point. But what it actually is and when it happens and what it means, I don't think anyone knows. I think it's just a complete mystery. So ⁓ anyway, that's ⁓ there's a whole warfie movement crossing the nullabore in cars right now, I think, because ⁓ Don't think the flights were all that palatable on the cost front. Makes looking makes look makes going to the Grand Prix look pretty cheap, I reckon, right about now. ⁓ but we'll get onto that a bit later. But ⁓ yeah, anyway. Why where did w why did why do they start Warfy? What does it mean, Warfy time? What does what does it mean? It's Warfy time. And I've heard professional ⁓ pundits of AFL break down when they should implement Warfie time. I'm like, what is this Warfy time? Yeah, no, no one knows. It's nothing. It's actually nothing, they f just flashes up on the big screen at Optus Stadium. That's it. Funny game, AFL, I'm not gonna lie. Now I would look for you out at ⁓ the SRO GT Festival in Sydney. ⁓ couldn't see you, but I seen lots of people we we do mutually know. There were great crowds out there, AVL. I don't know whether you caught any on the TV. The weather was warm. Yeah, yeah, it was ⁓ and it was really good racing, especially under lights. GT cars under lights look sensational and around sunset as well. The back of that SRO Vic ⁓ confirmed the extension of Shannon's as the naming rights ⁓ of the Speed Series into twenty seven. Like you said, there was a record crowd of twenty thousand people over three days, which wasn't is pretty good for that type of meeting, and I reckon it'll even be bigger next next year. And I caught up with some creditors, I'm not gonna lie. I I I saw Isaac Edwards, ⁓ I met up with a lovely young bloke named ⁓ Simon Chapman, I think his name is, or Champman or something. The Chipman. ⁓ yeah he Lovely kid wants to get a career in motorsport. I don't see it to be honest, but I told him to reach out to you, see what he could do. But ⁓ for those that ⁓ didn't see any of it, on Saturday the GT3s, Oscar Target and Shane Smolen led from the start to finish ⁓ to take their first win. ⁓ and then on Sunday, Brock Feeney and Brad Schumacher took victory in race two in the heat on Sunday, as Ryan Wood and Steve Brooks suffered a heartbreaking mechanical failure while leading. GT4 was a McLaren clean sweep. Saturday night, William Exxon and Jack Johnson once again ⁓ won the one hour enduro. And then on Sunday, Tom Heyman and Jet Murray ⁓ grabbed top place ⁓ in the Mustang Cup. Oli Wickham won two out three races. And Hyundai XL ⁓ debutant Patrick Tappet, or Trappett I should say. He ⁓ he rented out a podium for his first ever event at SEMP in race three, first ever race in the Mustang Cup, so absolutely sensational effort there. But I wanna say a big special mention to poor old Kobe Williams from the Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge. ABL. He was having a great race three. He was leading by get this twenty seconds when on the second last lap a rear tire goes boom and he drove it around on the rim to get some points and secure the round win, but definitely not the win. But ⁓ yeah, I've got to say, definitely worth checking out, especially like I said, any time these things are under lights, it's worth going out to the tip by the strip. Yeah, it sounds like there was some pretty good feedback out of the weekend. I did catch a bit of it on TV, ⁓ and it all looked ⁓ it all looked pretty good. As you mentioned, there's some ⁓ there is some good young talent kicking around in a few of those categories, particularly ⁓ Oli Wickham. He is doing a a very impressive job in the Mustang Cup. Poor Jack Perkins can't seem to take a trick on the mechanical front. I think he's I think the he got the dark horse R that was built on Friday afternoon. ⁓ and maybe not put together to the highest of standards 'cause Jizzy's had some bad luck. But ⁓ even so, that's such a the one thing that that I mean, I I know Ford would love more cars on the grid. I know there's some issues with costs and that sort of stuff in that category, but when you do you do kind of watch that racing and go, All right, well, Ollie Wickham clearly knows what he's doing because he is going up against you Jack Perkins types and and and looking like the real deal. So ⁓ yeah, it'll be I I wonder what Triple Eight has plan for him in a supercar sense because I reckon ⁓ I reckon there'll be some stuff coming. Surely they must be thinking Super Two or something like that in the not too distant future. An interesting dis discussion with someone who might know who ⁓ yeah I think Super Two more than likely. But ⁓ yeah there's also talk about maybe some overseas trips, but we'll talk about that maybe this time next year because that's when they're looking at it. But let's go to the shift cut because while we're mentioning famous last names, one bloke is back in the spotlight. Four, three, two, one. And it appears that Jack Doan ⁓ could be heading back to Formula One. A return to the cockpit ⁓ for Haas during a test at Jerez. It marked his first Formula One ⁓ running since his stint with Alpine came to an end following the twenty twenty five Miami Grand Prix. His Jerez run gave him an opportunity to sample Haas machinery as speculation continues to surround who will partner Oliver Behrman next season. Behman's expected to remain with the team for a third year. Well Esteban Ockon's future remains uncertain. ⁓ he scored only three of Haas's twenty-one points this season with the team using its recent TPC running to assess several alternatives. This has come from the ashes, let's be honest. Yeah, for sure. I mean he obviously signed on with the team, I believe that was that through the Toyota link? I can't remember the exact details of how he kind of ended up ⁓ involved with that team, but just great to see Jack back in an F1 car because however you want to slice it, like it must He must feel like there's a whole lot of unfinished business in Formula One. He has kind of instead of just going, you know, waving the white flag and and heading down other motorsport paths, he he has remained focused on F one. ⁓ clearly still feels that ⁓ he can get the job done if he can get another opportunity and this may well be it. I don't have a great line of sight on who is the front runner in terms of who will re will replace Esteban Ock on if the team does part ways with him. So it's I kinda don't know that I have a great feel of how genuine the opportunity is for Jack, but the fact that they're ⁓ they're sticking him in a car is a reasonably good sign. Well he jumped out of his LMP two drive and told the team unsort fortunately well actually the team told the told ⁓ the press fortunately Jack's got something else for the rest of the year at least and then maybe into next year, which had tongues wagging obviously. But yeah, look if you look at who he who replaced him at Alpine I'm not sure Jack was doing any worse of a job than he wa he has done, although he has improved in the last sort of, you know, three or four rounds. So look, like you say, it's it's unfinished business, hopefully, and hopefully he does get that chance to sort of put himself back in the running and and see what he can do, maybe in a team that might give him a better go than the mob that he left. Sure. While we're talking about F one, the Australian Grand Prix Corporation has defended steep. Price rises for tickets to next year's race meeting that has left F1 fans infuriated. Prices for the twenty-seven event have risen slightly again, year-on-year access across the board. But it was the introduction of three membership tiers, this is unbelievable, ⁓ of which has doubled the cost of one of the most popular grandstands in the venue that has angered fans. AGPC chief executive Travis Old said organizers had tried to manage trick ticket prices like we have every year to make sure the event remains accessible. I don't know who to. But $750 for $750, fans can become a grandstand member, which will give them the priority renewal year year on year, as well as a member welcome backpack and early access to the precinct on a race weekend. The $1,275 premium tier gives the above plus access to buy tickets to the premium only Rabam stand in the inside of the first corner. Neither membership package includes actual admission tickets, so you have to be members before you can get those tickets. Which started around 600 bucks, except for the premium only Brabham Stand. In 2026, the cheapest four-day seat in the Brabham stand cost $10, sorry, $1,045. In 27, the tickets themselves will be $910, but after the $1,275 membership tier, ⁓ it will now cost $2,185 AVL. ⁓ the cost of a four-day general admission ticket has increased another $40 to $425. And there's a membership package for that as well for two hundred seventy-five dollars. ⁓ an Albert Park Circuit Club membership will grant fans early access to the precinct as well as discounts and priority renewal. Just for those playing at home, the Bathus 12 hour, if you spent sixteen hundred dollars per person there, you can get be in a fully catered box for the ⁓ at least two days. ⁓ general admission there is only ninety dollars. And the Bathus one thousand, the pre premier pit suite is forty six K, that's forty six thousand dollars, but that's for forty people. And general admission is a hundred and sixty five dollars. AVL, when will the public push back and say enough's enough and stop buying tickets? Because maybe they won't and maybe this is this is the whole thing. ⁓ it's absolutely outrageous pricing, right? Particularly when you look at the percentage increase i in price over the last six years. So I guess as you kinda say there that the proof will be in the pudding in terms of sales and crowd numbers. There's every chance it will be another sell out and another record crowd, but to me it does We'd we're well into the category now of just because you can do something doesn't necessarily mean you should do it, if that makes sense. So you might sell it out, but you know, it's it really is shifting it away or out of reach for normal F one fans who want to come and experience a Grand Prix. And that and we're just talking about the tickets here because When you add in accommodation and flights for interstaters, like I booked accommodation for Stefan and I before the calendar went public last week, thinking that I was ⁓ I was pulling the wool over the hotel industry's eyes. And they saw me coming. I'll tell you right now, they are they were already very clued on to the fact that ⁓ that was the date that the Grand Prix was going to be announced, not and the accommodation was already incredibly expensive. I know myself travelling in and out, you know, like I'd normally travel on the Monday before the event, so ⁓ So flight prices aren't a massive diff ⁓ issue there, but I never travel home on the Monday after the event because flights from ⁓ Melbourne to Perth on that day are just always so extraordinarily expensive that I normally stay in a a couple of days to let the prices come down. Mind you it's probably still cheaper than trying to get from Perth to Melbourne this week, I would think. But ⁓ but yeah, it's it it is just extraordinarily expensive, particularly for an annual event. And and I think that it's the tipping point has to come at some point. And again, we might be sitting here in I think October ⁓ ticket sale starts, we might be sitting here in a month's time saying, Well, they've done it again, they've sold it out, but yeah, it just it ⁓ that just feels like crazy money, doesn't it, really? Mate, when we don't mind as a public, and fair enough to be honest, leaning into airfares and, you know, airlines pumping their prices up and like you say, accommodation gets pumped up and everything else. But that is no less a gouging than this. Yeah. No less. This is purely gouging. And don't forget, a GA ticket is mate, it's the run onto the bulls every morning. And if you if you want to get there early now, you can pay extra and get in early, which is just another way of gouging. Yeah, that's the thing, you're not really getting a whole lot of value from your G A anymore because ⁓ I've done enough walking around during F one sessions, ⁓ at Albert Park in the last couple of years to know that there's not many spots where you can get a really good view without sitting in a grandstand. So Again, it's just an extraordinary ⁓ amount of money to be inside the venue. yeah, look I don't know what ticket prices are are for things like the Australian Open and that, but I just I look at these numbers and and I'm probably not even for motorsport events, I'm I'm probably the worst person in the world to ask about ticket prices because I get accreditation to go cover these events. So ⁓ but this you don't have to be too in tune with the sporting scene to go, wow, that's feels like a lot of money. Mate, yeah, I'd like to someone to sit in and do the maths of like you said, airfares from either Sydney, Adelaide, Perth, whatever you want to do, some accommodation and maybe say I I wanna take, you know, th the missus or, you know, take your young bloke or something and do the maths there and no one's going. No one's going that isn't isn't minted. Gary Rogers Motorsport has reprised one of the late founders' earliest racing liveries for the Bathurst one thousand wildcard testing this week. The car will attest in a livery that resembles Roger's second ever race car. It's an Appendix J E H Holden, resplendent in its brown, orange, and yellow wrap. The X Triple Eight Kamaro will be tested by drivers Nathan Hearn and James Moffat. Now, I'm all in on this wildcard, as you know, Aviel. I love that what GRM's done. I'm I'm really cheering for Nathan Hearn and and James. And I love what they have done to the sport, for the sport I should say, GRM, and what they are doing for the sport moving forward. But this livery is best viewed in black and white TV AVL. ⁓ I think that's a bit ⁓ that's a ⁓ look, it's it's ⁓ it's it's I'm all for history and I understand it's i i it's but some things are just ⁓ cool in an ugly sort of way and I think that's where we'll put that one. But at least it's just the little entree before we get to that awesome retro livery for the race weekend itself. So Yeah ⁓ and I'll tell you what the more that of this sort sort of simmering tension between Todd Hazelwood and James Moffat goes on. It just adds to the fun of having both of them out there on ⁓ on track at Mount Panorama in ⁓ in a few short weeks. Yep. ⁓ supercar teams have shot down a proposal from the category to bring back compulsory door numbers. Supercars recently tabled the potential return of compulsory door numbers ⁓ in a commission meeting. However, teams in the meeting made it clear they fought for the right to sell that space to sponsors and have no intention of handing it back over. That's prime real estate for us, Triple Eight boss T ⁓ Jamie Winkup said. ⁓ we're running a model in team and heavily reliant on sponsorship and we need to all the real estate and exposure and opportunity we can get. So there's absolutely no way that I'm signing off on half my door as a number and not real estate that I can sell to a corporate partner. I can assure you that's not one team in our pit lane here that's turning a profit. If they came to us and said we'll pay you and then let's just say three hundred grand, well you might consider it. Three hundred grand per car would work out to be seven million dollars across the entire twenty-four car field. Interesting out of all that is that he said there's no team turning a profit. Yeah, ⁓ it is tough going out there. We know that. ⁓ we wouldn't be having these kind of ⁓ these difficult negotiations around ⁓ the TRC and the number of rounds and that sort of stuff if everyone was ⁓ printing cash that was trying to run a race team at the moment. So ⁓ whether that's ⁓ that whether that's a bit of an exaggeration, I would imagine Triple A as a business does turn a profit ⁓ at some level, but yeah, in terms of the numbers, Stefan and I spoke with the door numbers. I mean, Stefan and I spoke about this on the news pod last week. It's a wholly predictable outcome. I think the whole topic just needs to go in the same bin as the free to wear TV thing because yes, of course it would be amazing, but there are just insurmountable financial realities at play. And ⁓ and as I just sort of touched on, to be honest, supercars and the team should be should be focused on getting more races on the calendar calendar right now, not ⁓ not whether the numbers are on the door or the window, in my opinion. In better news, the door is now wide open for Max Verstappen to tackle next year's Bathurst 12 hour in the wake of F1 releasing its 2027 calendar. Major endurance races including the Bathurst 12 hour, Nurburg Ring 24, the 24 Hours of Le Monde, and Spa 24 avoid F1 clashes in 2027. Bathurst 12 hour organizers want Verstappen to race at Bathur conveniently. Pre-season F1 testing falls a week and a half after the Mount Panorama Endurance race. Speak FA understands that Bathurst 12 organizers have received record expression of interest with several new teams keen to participate. Verstappen has links to Ford via Red Bull, although his ties to Mercedes AMG are arguably stronger given his team run that make, and he also has run a Ferrari and Aston Martin in GT before. Now, if my mail's right, ABL, Verstappen isn't the only massive name that's on the radar. In fact, so much so, if both of those blokes turn up, Verstappen and this other black, it's gonna be pretty easy to get a Valentino Rossi autograph in twenty twenty two. Tell us who you who have you got. It's not my story to tell just yet because ⁓ your mate Chapo gave me a link and then I started chasing it. Chasing it on Skype. I about to say you don't know how journalism works here, but if you're protecting us internally then I'll ⁓ I'll let you have ⁓ I'll let ya have that one. Chapo, c contact me because I might have a name for you and it's pretty solid. So Let's imagine this Verstappen thing comes off. It's interesting you mentioned Valentino Rossi. How would it compare, do you reckon, to the to the Rossi effect? And I mean the the start of it, right? Like obviously the you know, Valentino's done the race a few times now. The autograph ⁓ lines aren't as long as they used to be. They're still pretty bloody long, but how do you think having Max there would compare to the height of the of the Rossi fascination? Okay. Well, this is how I can best describe it to you. Rossi is Guy Sebastian. Mm-hmm. Valentino is Elvis. Sorry, Max's Max's Elvis. Yeah, I'd I'd I'd I'd be interested to see how it would kind of ⁓ how it would compare 'cause I think Valentino just brought this whole new audience to the event. Like just ⁓ you know, if y you the here was your chance as a bike as a lifelong bike racing fan. ⁓ to come and and and see this guy and get an autograph with him and take a photo with him, but you had to come to a car race to do it. And then you've obviously got your traditional car racing fans who usually have an interest in Moto GP and and and found it fascinating that Rossi was there. but I guess then you look at the the Max side of things, you look at Formula One's global popularity and stuff, it probably would be probably would be bigger. But I still think it's ⁓ it's amazing what Valentino Rossi has done for that event over the years. Yeah, I agree. That's cool thing. I agree. And I'm definitely not selling what Rossi has done short, please don't don't think I am, because every time you see his car, you look up, you know, like and every time you see him in pits, you look up, and every time there's a ⁓ a a five thousand kilometre bloody autograph line, you know it's for him. So he has brought people through the door and given the race attention, not a doubt about it. But this would be literally next level. Next level. Look at look at what Lamont's when ⁓ Sorry, when ⁓ Valent ⁓ sorry, when Verstappen did Noberg Ring. The crowds there were insane. The viewership on YouTube live was insane. It was yeah, it it would be next level. Geez would be a good live show, guess what he? ⁓ the twenty twenty seven Moto G P grid is complete after Tech Three announced that Senate Adjus from Australia will join the team from next season as the new era of technical regulations come into force. The Aussies, the final rider on the twenty two strong grid to be announced. Completing the lineup for a history-making season of Moto GP, I just came to the attention of talent scouts when he was in the when he was the Moto 2 European Championship runner-up in 22 and then champion the following year. He then made the move into Moto 2 World Championship for 24 and was on the podium in his rookie year. He's then established himself as a leading talent in the Moto 2 series, claiming multiple victories and podium finishes that underlie his credentials as he prepares to take the next step. The Aussies arrival will complete Tech 3's twenty seven lineup. alongside Luca Morini. Together the pair will form a combination of experiences youth as Tech3 begins the next chapter of its partnership with KTM and enters the next era for Moto GP with new regulations and machinery. ⁓ and he also gets first ride on the bike as of right now, I would actually say AVL or not far from it. They are testing today in I think I think it's Jerez. I might be wrong there. For for Perelli tire test that they've actually stuck centre on the the bike, so Yeah, I guess we've been expecting this for a ⁓ for a while, ⁓ that he was gonna get this call up, but it's great to have an Aussie stepping up to Moto GP right as as as Miller heads off to World Superbikes and I reckon just quietly Moto G P itself and the South Australian government are probably pretty ⁓ pretty happy about it as well. ⁓ I would think. Yeah, good call. And talking about Moto GP, there was a sprint race on the weekend on Saturday, Jorge Martin grabbed the win from ⁓ sorry, when Pedro Acosta crashed out from the lead inexplicably. ⁓ Mark Marquez scored second, Marco Bezecchi third. Acosta accepts that he F'd up after crashing out of the lead ⁓ while checking his dashboard to see how many laps remained. So he didn't make the same mistake the next day because he won the GP, breaking his duck by under a second from Jorge Martin and Marco Bezeki. Marquez ran fifth, which means he slips back to second in the championship behind Jorge Martin by twelve points. In Moto 2, the aforementioned Senna Adges had a poor qualifying session, starting in 15th, dropping out of the points and into the pits with technical issues, and Joel Kelso finished 11th after starting seventh in moto three. And should be mentioned, our newest world champion, the inaugural FIM Harley Davidson Bagger World Cup winner, is Ozzy Archie McDonald, who says he can finally grieve his brother's death after the victory. ⁓ McDonald, who was joined by his parents Scott Miranda in Austria, wept as he paid tribute to his brother, who took his own life at just twenty-two years of age, which is horrendous. ⁓ riding at the Grand Prix of Austria at the Red Bull Ring, McDonald clinched the title, beating nitty racing rider Oscar Guterres by the title, ⁓ in the title by nine points. Absolutely sensational. He was consistent all year avial, and just watching these blagues muscle these things around is worth the price of admission alone. ⁓ when he won, he was greeted at the runoff at turn one by Moto 3 writer Joel Kelso from Australia obviously. So just well done ⁓ to that young man. It's an amazing achievement for Archie and if you haven't seen it, his interview after clinching the title is incredible. It's not an easy watch as a warning, but the emotion and honesty that he speaks with is is something truly special. So if you can get through that without tears in your eyes, you're a ⁓ you're a much stronger person than me. Yeah, and as I said, those things are wild to watch, aren't Yeah, they They are just like riding a big block of flats. ⁓ Nascar and Shane Van Gisbergen finished 20th in the band fake news 400 at Bristol Motor Speedway in a race won by Joey Logano. But after the race, a brawl broke out between Carson Hossever and Ryan Blaney, ⁓ who clashed on lap four hundred and fifty, eight of five hundred laps AVL. ⁓ in the round and round in circles race, Hosovar got two beautiful rights on him. The first knocked Blaney's hat off, which was sensational. The second one grazed him, but actually sat him on his ass. I got this question to ask you and some people have asked me this today. What would happen if this happened in Supercars? I don't think Supercars will be posting it all over their ⁓ official socials accounts like NASCAR was. ⁓ it's a very different approach. I would think we would be if you think back to like the Barry Ryan ⁓ and frosty incident like we'd be heading right down the bringing the sport into disrepute path, I would think. I think there'd be some you'd be in Motorsport Australia jail for a pretty long time. and that I that I kind of made some some notes on this for a different segment, but but we might as well talk about it now. Like that's that's not like Motorsport Australia's problem, right? That's just our society and how we kind of go about life down here in this part of the world. Like everything has been sanitized to a large extent in all in all sporting codes, like you can't go out in the footy field and thump someone anymore. And that's you can't you just end up having a bit of a holiday usually. ⁓ and I and and I do agree and I do find it a bit I mean I'm not advocating for violence, but I find it a bit this was obviously entertaining. No one got seriously injured and ultimately you can walk into any pub at any time and watch any manner of combat sports live on TV as well. So I don't that's to me I I do think that we are massively overly sensitive about this sort of stuff. ⁓ and I do find for right or for yon for for wrong and people can say it's a bad example for kids or whatever, but like NASCAR just leans into it. And they were plastering it on all their official channels. Like close ups. Like it's they know how to market and sell their sport. And if we do wonder why we can't, you know, where we might lose ground i in supercars, it is because I don't think we would ever see anything like that happen because people would be so concerned about the ramifications of it. Whether that's, you know, having a verbal altercation or whatever. It's just not worth it for people. And then we wonder why every time we need to promo a race, we're looking at twenty year old vision of Mark Scaife and Russell Ingall or Greg Murphy and Marcus Ambrose because we've stamped it out of the sport and you might think that's a good thing, but I'm not entirely convinced that it is. Speaking of combat sports, I don't this is this is a tangent you think we go on today. I fell down the rabbit hole of watching redneck boxing on the weekend. I fully recommend it. It is sensitive. Well the rabbit hole of that NASCAR or NASCAR styles like categories in America of blogs punching on in that is a decent rabbit hole you can fall down pretty quickly as well, I tell ya. Yeah. I'll tell you. Put a put an afternoon aside and look up Redneck Boxing, it's it's brilliant. Doesn't do the sport of boxing much good, but I tell ya, it's definitely worth a watch. All right, we'll come back and we'll ⁓ we're gonna break or should say we'll come back and play Under Survivors back in a tick. Winter could spell bad news for your vehicle's battery. Here are three maintenance tips from the battery gurus at RNJ Batteries. 1. Avoid frequent short trips to keep your battery at a healthy state of charge. 2. Keep the battery terminals clean and corrosion free. 3. Avoid running your accessories with the engine off for too long. If your battery is three years or older, it might be time to get it tested for free. At your local R and J Batteries. R and J Batteries power like nothing else. Yeah, welcome back. Now I thought we'd do unders or overs, a reliable ⁓ segment for this show, Avial, which is easy for me to say. ⁓ I'm just gonna give you a subject and a number, you just tell me whether it's under or over, and a few of these have come from our Discord. Under or over aviol, point five. The amount of times Max Versappan does the twelve hour. That's from Steve eight seven. Sure. I'm not sure it would nef it would definitely be next year, but I do think that Max has that race on his bucket list. So I think it'll happen at some point. Yep. I'm really confident that it will be overs. In fact, I think it will be multiple times. What about this? Under or over seven point five DNFs at the Bathus one thousand. That's from Isaac Edwards. Eight DNFs is a lot for a modern Bathus one thousand. I think there was six last year and that was a pretty wet and wild race. So I'll go unders. I'll go unders on this one. Yeah, I'll say confidently unders unless it does. Even when it rained it didn't they didn't go far past that. So yeah, I'll say unders. What about this? Over or under point five. The changes to the top ten in the driver's standings after Baths from now. Ooh. The golden D SQ from the bend has tightened things up at the back end. Of the top ten there. So I think there's every chance we could see someone sneak in or drop out at the death. So let's go with overs. I hate to agree with you all the time. Yeah, overs as well for me. That's from Xmas forty six. Over or under two point five, the number of times per T V appearance we hear the word barometric from Brody Kastecki over the Bathis weekend, and that's from Josh Harris. Yeah, I'm really not sure how this is gonna play out in a number of different ways. Like will the testing actually get done? Is there time to do it? No. ⁓ will Triple Eight sort of come to the barometric disadvantage party 'cause they've been pretty wishy washy on whether they actually think it is an issue? Will there be a mindfulness of the optics of complaining about things like this when, you know, we do expect there to be a a lot of Mustangs right at the front of the field? And that was already an issue last year, right? If you think back to Brody in the press conference having just taken pole for the great race, going to town on this huge disadvantage, like it was the optics was poor. ⁓ so the short answer is I don't know. I actually don't know in terms of how big a topic this is gonna be. It's gonna be very fascinating to see. I'll go with overs 'cause I have to pick one of ⁓ So but I don't really have a great feel for how this barometric thing is going to play out over the Bathis week. Under over point five, the twenty twenty six Bathus one thousand drivers to make an appearance, no matter how brief, at the full credit to the noise live show on Wednesday night. And that's from some guy. Probably unders. Getting drivers out in the town on the Wednesday night has been it's actually been an issue that we've faced while trying to put this together over the last couple of years because it's not the first time we've had a crack at doing this. So ⁓ so I'm gonna have to say unders. I'll say overs only because of a conversation I had on Saturday at b ⁓ at Easton Creek and I spoke to a current driver and he was all for that's good coming into the into the show for the question and answers and heckling ⁓ w at least one of the ⁓ special guests. That's all cross fingers, but as you said, AVL, it's very hard to get these guys. We had one guy over the line, but it got kibosh by a team, so it's very hard to get them into this sort of thing. Whatever this, unders or overs this is from Jacqueline Hyde. Under or over, seven and a half Mustangs in the top ten shootout for Bathurst. That is a very good one. I think I'm gonna go with Unders. As you sort of look at, you go, well, there's a couple of Walking Shore cars, there's Deepasqually, Reynolds very good at Bathurst, Ojada, Heimgardner. Like there's more than two non-Ford drivers that should be in the mix. So I'll go with unders. Mm-hmm. But ⁓ that is a fantastic question from ⁓ from Dave there. I'll say, yeah, unders, but just. I think there might be seven. ⁓ under or over, same same ⁓ same ⁓ Discord user Jekyll Hyde says under or over one and a half chefs in the top ten finishes at Bathurst. ⁓ well, I mean this all could depend greatly on the barometric thing because there are those on the blue oval side that are convinced that it's going to be an absolute chev whitewash on race day. So even without that, I'll go overs. I could see a I could see a couple of cars ⁓ making a good go of it. Yeah, I think overs too. Erebus are always white hot there. So under or over. Point five GP wins for Oscar in twenty twenty six. My gut feel is just under. Like I hope I'm I hope I'm wrong. My concern I mean the the McLaren package is clearly improving, which should put him in the frame for wins. But he just doesn't seem to be able to get the best out of it. And I just I've just got no confidence at the moment that this is a year that he's gonna win a Grand Prix and so happy to be wrong. Happy to be proven very wrong. Yep. Over or under fifteen and a half For Bathus qualifying for the GRM car. As in better or worse than fifteenth on the grid? Yes. ⁓ a top fifteen qualifying position for that car would be incredible. So I'll go with overs on it. I think a top twenty qualifying position would be remarkable for a a for a team coming in to do one race weekend at this level. So yeah, no, I have to I have to unfortunately go overs, but if they're in the top fifteen, that'll be like that'll be that would be huge. I'll say better just because and finally Over or under one and a half Mustangs in next year's twelve hour. ⁓ I I reckon over. I think Ford is pretty committed to at least two, if not more. I'm very confident there'll be two, if not three. Yeah, I'm with you. And there will be a team currently racing a car that will have one by then and that will be their debut race. Anyway, let's go to a break and we'll come back with rear of grid and then credit or shredded. Yeah, welcome back to Rear of Grid AVL, the Discord. ⁓ basically is full of people who are going to the live show from best I can tell. We've sold that out. Yeah. So ⁓ sold out. That's amazing. We actually sold this thing out without a public sale. I I'm still in in shock. I'm actually in shock. We've got some surprises for the day. ⁓ so I'm actually very, very excited. Been finding clips and working on different bits and pieces for it. So it's all coming together quite nicely. Although be any of this. So this is a the there'll be stuff that's a little frightening. You'll be horrified to see, but anyway. but it's also good that no one's filming it. ⁓ because there is some stuff where we start the show that will be yeah, I'll be quite happy to say that we didn't let those kids come to that show. So ⁓ I'm just looking forward to being able to swear. ⁓ that's that's that's just 'cause you know how much I actually love swearing and I'm gonna be able to just do it or not. It's gonna be great like a pirate you are, like a man possessed. All right, let's do credit or shredded for the week. ⁓ by the way, if you do want to join the Discord, because it actually is a good place to go, ⁓ your membership is available on FCTTN dot com, ⁓ that will g which will give you access to the Discord and will give you ⁓ All different sorts of things including It'll be your best way of any insight into what does go down at the line shell. Let's put it that way. Even if you ⁓ even if you can't get a ticket for the event. Yeah. ⁓ there'll probably be some people. ⁓ obviously not sharing any photos or videos because that won't be allowed, but ⁓ probably later sharing some thoughts on ⁓ on how we how we did. Might be muting some accounts if we have to, but anyway, let's start with this week's first creditor shredded. Number one. The prices for tickets for the Australian Grand Prix are still nowhere near the cost that will stop people from attending. ⁓ Shreddit. Credit. Number two. Jamie Wincup said there's not one team in our pit lane here that's turning a profit. If that's the case, a twelve round series is now more likely than unlikely. Shredd it. Shredd it. Fool jeez. number three. SRO Australia should concentrate on marketing to families and the Time Attack fans. As an exciting supercars alternative. ⁓ credit. Credit. ⁓ number four. Physical fights in NASCAR show that drivers give a shit and aren't all mates. So that makes them good for the series. Not as not as bad as some woke folk would have you believe. Credit. Credit. Number five. This is interesting. Barely anyone under thirty years of age cares about the legacy of Peter Brock. Whoa. I'm gonna say shredded. I say credit. Number six, Charles Leclerc will never win a driver's title. Yeah, credit. Credit. All right, let's go back. Prices will s get to the point where they people will stop attending. The th reality is, but, and I'm not sure whether this new tier system and everything else will affect this, but from what I've seen on overseas forums, ⁓ overseas people still talk about Albert Park as one of the more affordable Grand Prix. Look, I don't know, the statement was, you know, the prices are nowhere near the cost that will stop people attending, and I think they already are at a price that stops people attending. You know, that doesn't mean it won't be a sellout. It doesn't mean ⁓ you know, but there's definitely people out there who have long been priced out of going to this event. So ⁓ and secondly, I do think that the tipping point of not selling out because it is too expensive and that your buyers market for what is an annual event actually becomes too small, I think that tipping point is closing in. Okay. ⁓ Win Cup said ⁓ no one's turning a profit. A twelve round series is now more likely than unlikely. It's definitely not impossible, but twelve is the doomsday scenario. And I just can't believe that a solution for fourteen won't be found because everyone loses if we end up at a twelve round series. Have you heard the number of teams that might be holding out on voting for an ex expanded s calendar? ⁓ five the number. I might have a bit of a line of sight on that, but not ⁓ not too much. ⁓ not too much that I can sort of add on the record at this point. Still trying to ⁓ piece a few things together, but ⁓ yeah. I've heard who it might be. There seems to be a voting block. It's like Survivor. SRO should target time attack fans and families. I tell ya, we were looking at the cars on the hill at Sydney Motor Sport Park on Saturday and there were a lot of people there, Aviola. Not look, I know that the number probably suggests well that's it wasn't packed or anything, and it wasn't packed. But it was very healthy for for that series. And I think it it is a series that no one's gonna no one's going to say that it's taking supercars down, 'cause everyone that's ever said that has fallen on their ass. But I tell you what, it's a really good alternative. It's affordable and it's definitely worth taking your family out if you want to have a give have a look at motorsport ⁓ at at a very professional level. Yeah, I mean I say credit because it's a good idea to be to be marketing to families and to fans of ⁓ of different disciplines of motorsport that do attract crowds like Time Attack. So I don't know anything about the marketing for the event on the weekend. I don't know if that's what they did or are doing, but it's a fundamentally a good idea. Fights in NASCAR show that They care, drivers care, and they're not mates. So it's not as bad news as some people would have you believe. Yeah, I mean we we kinda went over this before, I think and made our feelings on it pretty clear. I reckon it's it's awesome. And then you look at the you know, the the way we operate here and Nick Perkett can't go to New Zealand 'cause he did a burnout once. So ⁓ And again, not being critical of Motorsport Australia or whatever, you know, this is just ⁓ just where we're at as a society in this part of the ⁓ in this part of the world. ⁓ the thought of Nick Purkat and the big house in Auckland. there's a movie in that. Anyone under thirty years of age doesn't really care about the legacy of Peter Brock. Yeah, I said Shredd 'cause I felt like it's just such a harsh statement and I had to say Shreddit. I applaud your bravery for going straight for the credit because there is a kernel of truth to it. The you know, the more time moves on, the interest from the fan base changes, right? And that was That was actually ⁓ really reflected by the cars that were on display at the bend in the welcome center the other weekend. Like that was an incredible collection of cars on display, but it's the V T Commodores and the BA Falcons that are the centerpiece now, not Tiranas and GT HOs. Like that's just that and that's just what happens. Like that's just how it ⁓ how time time works, really. So there is definitely something to what to what you are saying there. There is going to be Less and less, you know, the fan base will change to a point where not that many people saw Peter Brock racing actively in the Australian Turing Car Championship or or in supercars. And of course the the the strength of the legacy. The legacy never dies, but the s but the the the sheer interest in it is going to shift. Yeah, and finally Charlotte Claire will never win a driver's title. I think that's more than likely now. I like it. I I lo well, I just I don't like it, but I could see it happening. ⁓ I hate Charles. I don't I definitely don't. But I don't know that have we ever really seen have we seen enough to say that he's more of a Max than a George Russell? No. Like is that kind of that that's that was the that's that's where I kind of sit on it. I haven't seen enough yet to go, yeah, he's in the super talent ⁓ kind of pile. I mean, he generally can have Lewis Hamilton's measure on speed, but I'm not sure that he would have against Two thousand and thirteen spec Lewis Hamilton. Or even two thousand and eight, nine spec Lewis Hamilton, to be honest. So I don't know. ⁓ there's still some convincing to be done. I agree, mate. ⁓ and I used to think he was the next big thing and I'm not sure that he is. I'm really not sure he is. Our letter of the week. I thought I'd include this AVL because it was a really nice thing to hear and It's from Matthew Basso. If you don't remember, Matthew Basso we spoke about last week. He's in the Aussie race cars. He's 16. He just won his first ever round. He says, Hello, I hope this email finds everyone at Speed Cafe well. I was hoping if it's possible for you to forward this email to Stefan Bartholomew, says I can't seem to find his business email online. And then he wrote, Dear Stefan, now you corrected him there, AVL, and said it wasn't Stefan talking about you, it was former, and so you forward this letter to me. ⁓ I did speak to Stefan during the week and he did say, Matthew, if you ever confuse me and him again you won't see seventeen. So just take that on board. ⁓ he said, My name is Matthew Basso and I race in the Aussie racing car championship. I just wanted to say a big thank you for mentioning me and your latest full credit to the noise podcast. I listen to every episode and when I heard you talk about the Aussie race cars, my ears pricked up, then I heard your your very nice words about me. I was so excited, it's really hard to explain. Our family put in so much effort into my racing, we sacrificed so much just to get to the next meeting. So you can imagine the feeling we all had when you talked about me in such a positive fashion. Hopefully we can build some career momentum, meet new people and win more races along the way. Thank you again so much for mentioning my name and I hope that one day we'll have the pleasure to meet you. Many thanks and I hope you enjoy the rest of your day. Mate, Matthew, thank you very much, but it's all to you, mate, because from all reports you're a nice young man and clearly this ⁓ strengthens that, but also you have a lot of ability. So just keep doing what you do. ⁓ people will notice and you will go places, my friend. So that's about it. You're happy with that. Very well said. Well said for me.
