- 1:10Speaker 3: Great?
- 1:11Speaker 2: So chilly out eight point eight eight point eight eight
- 1:15Speaker 2: point eight. Do you know we actually do have a
- 1:16Speaker 2: cold front coming?
- 1:18Speaker 4: No?
- 1:18Speaker 2: Yeah, last next Friday, the high is going to be
- 1:22Speaker 2: seventy six degrees really yeah, because this thing that the
- 1:25Speaker 2: thing that's bringing off the soaking rain is like a
- 1:28Speaker 2: weird cold front coming down from the I think the
- 1:29Speaker 2: Pacific Northwest and sweeping across. So that's what's gonna give
- 1:33Speaker 2: us like four or five. We're supposed to be five
- 1:34Speaker 2: inches of rain and center four over the next week
- 1:35Speaker 2: and a half. And the today's the last day of
- 1:39Speaker 2: the ball's hot and then it just starts dropping all
- 1:42Speaker 2: this week.
- 1:43Speaker 5: It's happening. What well, I mean it's the last day.
- 1:47Speaker 5: It's not the last d The.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Last class is long gone, buddy. I mean that's the
- 1:52Speaker 2: high of when it doesn't get above seventy that's it's
- 1:55Speaker 2: long gone. Last class is gone. I got it wrong
- 1:58Speaker 2: fifteen times this year, and I don't think did you
- 2:00Speaker 2: bringing you back up or are renegotiating it or anything
- 2:04Speaker 2: like that. Oh man, you saw what I was doing.
- 2:06Speaker 2: I did my bad. What are you watching right now?
- 2:09Speaker 2: I gotta tell you. I love it when we find
- 2:10Speaker 2: something that we're all kind of enjoying and then we
- 2:13Speaker 2: and then we kind of move off into our shows.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Are you watching anything new?
- 2:17Speaker 5: I am not watching anything right now because I'm consumed
- 2:21Speaker 5: by a video game.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Okay, that's fine, Jack, Are you watching anything new? New series?
- 2:26Speaker 2: I have one I want to start called The Burrows. Okay,
- 2:29Speaker 2: very started to get and I watch last time, I
- 2:31Speaker 2: watched a new Sasha bar Cohen movie called Ladies First. Okay,
- 2:35Speaker 2: deb anything?
- 2:36Speaker 6: No, nothing yet?
- 2:36Speaker 2: Okay, So let me ask. Do you guys have Apple TV?
- 2:39Speaker 2: All of you? Oh? Oh yeah, yeah, Apple? Jack you're
- 2:41Speaker 2: an Apple guy?
- 2:42Speaker 7: Right?
- 2:42Speaker 2: You have Apple as well?
- 2:43Speaker 3: Right?
- 2:44Speaker 2: Look, I'm gonna tell you straight up, this is going
- 2:46Speaker 2: to be my what you do that's new for next week?
- 2:48Speaker 2: We launched on my wife came home. We came home
- 2:50Speaker 2: last night, had dinner, and as we're making that choice,
- 2:53Speaker 2: like a lot of couples do when they're kind of
- 2:55Speaker 2: settling in for the evening of what we're going to
- 2:57Speaker 2: consume that evening. She looks at me. She goes, I
- 3:00Speaker 2: heard there's a new creepy show out and a lot
- 3:03Speaker 2: of people are talking about it online and I've not
- 3:06Speaker 2: seen a whisper of it anywhere. And I said, well,
- 3:08Speaker 2: let's start watching it. And we started watching it. Then
- 3:11Speaker 2: I looked up the reviews and all the reviews are like,
- 3:13Speaker 2: bombastically good, incredible, and you know some of the players
- 3:16Speaker 2: in the show. Have you ever read up a show
- 3:18Speaker 2: called Widow's Bay? I have not. I've seen just the
- 3:23Speaker 2: little teaser for it on Apple. It is a you're
- 3:25Speaker 2: ready for this. It's a horror mystery thriller comedy. And
- 3:31Speaker 2: I will tell you you know it stars that covers
- 3:33Speaker 2: all the basis Matthew Matthew Reese. That's exactly what it is.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Is the dude from the Americans and the dude from
- 3:39Speaker 2: that movie where he moves in next door to is
- 3:44Speaker 2: it Claire Danes? Yes, and he's like a billionaire and
- 3:46Speaker 2: he wants to build this running track behind as she
- 3:49Speaker 2: says no, and then off we go into this weird
- 3:51Speaker 2: which was a fun movie, by the way. He's the
- 3:54Speaker 2: lead in it as a small town mayor that's trying
- 3:57Speaker 2: to get people to come to his little island. I
- 3:59Speaker 2: guess kind of like a Macanall Island or like a yeah,
- 4:02Speaker 2: like a Martha's Vineyard kind of thing. He's trying to
- 4:05Speaker 2: create that vibe for his island, but there's a problem.
- 4:08Speaker 6: With the island. Yeah, yeah, you've seen it. No, I haven't, dude.
- 4:11Speaker 2: I gotta tell you. We started. We watched the first
- 4:14Speaker 2: episode last night, and I don't know. You guys do
- 4:16Speaker 2: this where you watch an episode that you're both kind
- 4:17Speaker 2: of on the you don't really know about. As soon
- 4:19Speaker 2: as the first episode is over, you turn each other
- 4:21Speaker 2: to see how the other one felt like worth watching again. Well,
- 4:24Speaker 2: you know, worth another episode? Yeah, yeah, dude. We immediately
- 4:28Speaker 2: snap turned to each other like yep, we gotta do it,
- 4:30Speaker 2: and we watch. We wind up watching five episodes of
- 4:33Speaker 2: this last night. Oh my good dude. It was well
- 4:35Speaker 2: how long is each ep? I say it's forty minutes,
- 4:37Speaker 2: forty five minutes something like that. Well, yeah, we watched
- 4:40Speaker 2: TV from seven thirty a night till eleven thirty at night.
- 4:43Speaker 2: We just crushed one after another. It was so fun.
- 4:46Speaker 2: It's so much fun, a little scary, but funnier than
- 4:50Speaker 2: you could be imagine. Like, we found ourselves laughing out
- 4:53Speaker 2: loud at some of the jokes because the character development
- 4:56Speaker 2: for for the characters, they write it perfectly from that
- 5:00Speaker 2: particular character character to deliver some comedy. And it's not
- 5:04Speaker 2: like overt comedy like jokes like a Ron Burton beat thing.
- 5:07Speaker 2: It's just these little barbs about the scenes and things
- 5:10Speaker 2: that are happening that make it comical. Dude, I think
- 5:12Speaker 2: you'd love it. I think would love it. I'm down, Jack,
- 5:15Speaker 2: I don't know. I like it. But how about one
- 5:19Speaker 2: episode a night you could do that? I don't care.
- 5:21Speaker 2: But look, here's the thing. You're all gonna watch at
- 5:23Speaker 2: least one episode because this is gonna be why I
- 5:25Speaker 2: want you to do what you do. That's new for
- 5:27Speaker 2: next week.
- 5:27Speaker 5: For sure, There's nothing better than whenever you find a
- 5:30Speaker 5: piece of content that all of a sudden, both you
- 5:33Speaker 5: and your partner or just you and anybody else in
- 5:36Speaker 5: the room start going like, oh yeah.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Somebody people are texting ins dead. The Burrows is really
- 5:40Speaker 2: good and we had already kind of planned to start that,
- 5:42Speaker 2: but this looks more fun because it had that comedy
- 5:45Speaker 2: and thriller element to it, so we checked it out.
- 5:47Speaker 2: I strongly suggest is this a hot take? Maybe I'm
- 5:51Speaker 2: dead wrong.
- 5:51Speaker 5: I maybe have to rethink it, But I think Apple
- 5:53Speaker 5: TV has had the best original programming let's say, in
- 5:57Speaker 5: the last five years.
- 5:59Speaker 2: Pretty good, man. I mean starting off the teed Lasso
- 6:01Speaker 2: and then kind of going what else was on there?
- 6:03Speaker 2: That's has gotten a lot of action. I like Silo,
- 6:07Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that's another one. A lot of people watched that.
- 6:10Speaker 2: But where was Severance? Severance is that? And I think
- 6:15Speaker 2: that's their best?
- 6:16Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 6:16Speaker 2: Actually, but I mean when you consider what Ross said,
- 6:19Speaker 2: I mean just just you know, Lasso and Severance alone, yeah,
- 6:24Speaker 2: or justus.
- 6:25Speaker 8: Yes.
- 6:26Speaker 5: I also came out a very high price tag. I
- 6:29Speaker 5: remember hearing that Apple just poured i mean dollar signs
- 6:32Speaker 5: after dollar signs into making their own programming, and then
- 6:35Speaker 5: they ended up dialing it back by going this is
- 6:38Speaker 5: not working out, so enjoy the best content that's happening
- 6:41Speaker 5: on Apple TV.
- 6:42Speaker 2: They they didn't get a job here because I can't imagine,
- 6:45Speaker 2: you know, they pretty much shut this on site in
- 6:47Speaker 2: the Northeast. I looked up some of the shooting areas.
- 6:50Speaker 2: It's Massachusetts and those little cottage kind of villages towns
- 6:54Speaker 2: up there. That's where they shot this. So I can't
- 6:55Speaker 2: imagine other than shooting on site, that it would have
- 6:59Speaker 2: been that expense to produce this show. They's not a
- 7:01Speaker 2: lot of CGI or effects or anything that really in
- 7:04Speaker 2: the program. Now, pretty cool though, you'll dig it.
- 7:07Speaker 6: One hundred years of Salem, Massachusetts this year.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Yeah, and by the way, it's there's a little of
- 7:11Speaker 2: that in there. There's a tiny bit of that in there. Alright, alright, alright,
- 7:15Speaker 2: four oh seven nine one. Again, you can always text
- 7:17Speaker 2: us seven seven zero three one. Let me ask you.
- 7:19Speaker 2: By the way, The Beast in Me was that series
- 7:22Speaker 2: we watched with Matthew Rees and Clarenday. So good. It
- 7:25Speaker 2: was really good.
- 7:26Speaker 5: By the way, just want to point out one last
- 7:27Speaker 5: thing about Widows Bay is that I love the marketing
- 7:32Speaker 5: and art design of the cover. It's exactly like an
- 7:35Speaker 5: rl Stein book. Oh really, yeah, yeah, yeah it. I
- 7:39Speaker 5: love that. I'm addicted to that art direction already, down
- 7:42Speaker 5: to the font to everything.
- 7:44Speaker 2: It kind of feels like that a little bit. It
- 7:46Speaker 2: feels like an adult version of an R. L Stein
- 7:50Speaker 2: like novel. It's like Goosebumps. It looks like a Goosebumps cover.
- 7:53Speaker 6: The Burrows.
- 7:54Speaker 2: No, no, this is the Widow's Bay the Burrows. I
- 7:57Speaker 2: haven't seen it yet. Somebody just texted and said Widows
- 7:59Speaker 2: Bay is pretty darn good. Uh that They they just
- 8:01Speaker 2: started it last night and loved it as well. And again,
- 8:04Speaker 2: I've not seen anything about it, and we just kind
- 8:06Speaker 2: of started it on a whim and man, we hit gold.
- 8:08Speaker 2: It's so good. Your Friends and Neighbors is another Apple
- 8:11Speaker 2: TV plus one. Have you seen that? They just released
- 8:13Speaker 2: a second season. Now that's the one with John ham Correct. No,
- 8:16Speaker 2: I haven't seen that yet. I can't watch that. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 8:21Speaker 5: My wife has a thing for John ham and call
- 8:24Speaker 5: me petty, but whatever. Man, you don't see what her
- 8:27Speaker 5: eyes do when he's on the screen.
- 8:29Speaker 2: When she's looking at John's Ham. Yeah, yeah, well we
- 8:32Speaker 2: could have whatever it's up, Jim. What's not even as
- 8:35Speaker 2: even as he gets it gets a little bit older,
- 8:37Speaker 2: she's still down. Or does that make it worse? I
- 8:39Speaker 2: think it's yeah, it makes it worse. It's weird, yeah,
- 8:42Speaker 2: because uh, he's so dignified.
- 8:45Speaker 5: And then John Hamm, not that long ago, went like
- 8:47Speaker 5: super viral for closing his eyes and then like dancing
- 8:51Speaker 5: at a nightclub.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, that was the meme there for
- 8:55Speaker 2: a while. The time when the tiger Woods crash happened,
- 8:58Speaker 2: I saw a lot of Tiger Woods beams using that
- 9:00Speaker 2: thing from John Hama. Yeah. Yeah, there was a viral
- 9:02Speaker 2: trend with John Hammond name boy.
- 9:04Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 9:05Speaker 2: So what's next? Yeah, So I do want to bring
- 9:07Speaker 2: this up, and I kind of want to talk about
- 9:09Speaker 2: it later. So I'm going to bring it up now
- 9:10Speaker 2: so we can get some texting service stuff on it.
- 9:12Speaker 2: I want to get this kind of seated in your
- 9:13Speaker 2: guy's brains. Right, So, as as I'm watching Instagram and
- 9:18Speaker 2: I go through Instagram or whatever, it could be TikTok
- 9:20Speaker 2: or Instagram, because she's on both of these platforms, I
- 9:22Speaker 2: saw something really unique happen and somebody made a video
- 9:26Speaker 2: about this today, and I wanted to see what you
- 9:28Speaker 2: guys thought. So there was this woman and she started
- 9:31Speaker 2: a TikTok channel, and an entire thing was is she
- 9:34Speaker 2: would make lunch for her husband who gets up and
- 9:36Speaker 2: goes to work as a construction worker very early in
- 9:39Speaker 2: the morning. It's a Spanish couple, right, and they lived,
- 9:42Speaker 2: and what looked to be a camper, right, because I
- 9:45Speaker 2: looked exactly you know who I'm talking about, I think
- 9:47Speaker 2: I do. Yeah, So it's a camper. I know that
- 9:49Speaker 2: for a fact because it looked a lot like the
- 9:51Speaker 2: kitchen I had my camper. And it was verified because
- 9:53Speaker 2: the door looks like a camper door. So it's a camper,
- 9:56Speaker 2: not even a mobile home. It is a straight up camper, right,
- 9:59Speaker 2: And you can know you're saying it's a camper. It's
- 10:01Speaker 2: a camper, right, And that makes a difference. I'm bringing
- 10:04Speaker 2: this up for a reason because it makes a difference, right.
- 10:05Speaker 2: So you could see in the background as she's making
- 10:07Speaker 2: these meals, and by the way, the meals looked amazing,
- 10:10Speaker 2: very home style Spanish cooking. And she would pack his
- 10:14Speaker 2: the cooler up so nice and all these little things
- 10:16Speaker 2: for him, and off he goes, right, give her he
- 10:18Speaker 2: should give him a big kiss and send him on
- 10:20Speaker 2: his way. And that was the video. Well, after about
- 10:22Speaker 2: a month of the videos, you noticed the cooler she
- 10:25Speaker 2: was packing stuff in was sponsor, right. It was a
- 10:28Speaker 2: new cooler that has all these lunch compartments and all
- 10:30Speaker 2: these things in place to put ice packs I'm like, oh,
- 10:33Speaker 2: she got a client. That's cool. She's in this camper
- 10:35Speaker 2: cooking for her husband, just doing videos to make content.
- 10:39Speaker 2: And obviously something's caught because now she's got a new
- 10:42Speaker 2: a new cooler. So that kind of went on for
- 10:43Speaker 2: a while, and I hadn't seen her for a little bit.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Then I saw a videover video over last night, and
- 10:49Speaker 2: things have changed. Obviously, her channel exploded, and now she's
- 10:54Speaker 2: making these lunches on a marble island, in a kitchen
- 10:59Speaker 2: with brand new stainless steel appliances in the background, brand
- 11:03Speaker 2: new maple cabinets in the background, marble countertops, and really
- 11:08Speaker 2: good lighting. Obviously they got a place, right. She lost followers, Yeah,
- 11:15Speaker 2: she lost followers because when they saw that the video
- 11:19Speaker 2: made about this, the guy said, when she when the
- 11:22Speaker 2: when the viewers found out that it made her life better,
- 11:25Speaker 2: they didn't want to provide a support anymore. They actually
- 11:30Speaker 2: actually lost followers over making it, making the content. And
- 11:35Speaker 2: then as soon as she did the first video from that,
- 11:38Speaker 2: she started catching hell from all her viewers and people
- 11:40Speaker 2: started dropping her because she wasn't in the camper anymore.
- 11:44Speaker 2: People wild, right, I don't think it's that wide. You
- 11:48Speaker 2: don't think it's that wild. I mean, do you think
- 11:50Speaker 2: she should have just kept the camper, maybe put it in
- 11:52Speaker 2: the back in the backyard and child the videos from
- 11:54Speaker 2: the camper look should have That would be to me worse,
- 11:59Speaker 2: even even more disingenuous.
- 12:00Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, that would absolutely be more disingenuous.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Yeah. So I just found that a really unique kind
- 12:06Speaker 2: of situation where and obviously, you know, these guys are
- 12:10Speaker 2: hardworking people. She's she's, you know, doing this for the
- 12:13Speaker 2: love of her husband, who's a hardworking dude. And she
- 12:16Speaker 2: made this content. She did made great content. The videos
- 12:19Speaker 2: were very easy to consume. The food looked amazing, but
- 12:22Speaker 2: whether she looked very loving, I mean, all of it
- 12:25Speaker 2: was very good. And then she makes a few books,
- 12:27Speaker 2: buys herself a place to live, to move out of
- 12:29Speaker 2: a camper, and people's are hating on her.
- 12:31Speaker 5: I mean, the first thing I would have to say
- 12:34Speaker 5: is like, I don't even know how much hate she's
- 12:36Speaker 5: actually getting.
- 12:37Speaker 2: I have no idea.
- 12:38Speaker 5: But she has to understand that both of those videos,
- 12:42Speaker 5: those are two different stories. You're telling two different stories
- 12:45Speaker 5: if you're making that lunch in a camper, right, yeah, yeah, right,
- 12:48Speaker 5: and you're bringing up that you saw the door. I
- 12:50Speaker 5: don't know why you would need to see a door
- 12:52Speaker 5: to go ahead, but like hamper doors are the same.
- 12:55Speaker 5: But everything is part of that story, and there's also
- 12:58Speaker 5: probably a rude ability to it, a likability of like
- 13:02Speaker 5: this is charming people, Like that's easier to root for
- 13:06Speaker 5: than someone in a mansion. Yeah, and now that the
- 13:09Speaker 5: mansion is happening, and then that content is still happening. Yeah,
- 13:12Speaker 5: that's two different people's that's two different parasocial connections.
- 13:15Speaker 2: Yeah. The irony of her audience trying to determine how
- 13:18Speaker 2: well her life goes based on their support, based on
- 13:22Speaker 2: what they see her doing with the money. Like if
- 13:24Speaker 2: she sold a product, that wouldn't happen like that, right,
- 13:26Speaker 2: If she was selling shoes and just kind of stumbled
- 13:28Speaker 2: onto a really important like a shoe and she sold that,
- 13:31Speaker 2: would anybody be mad because she was selling shoes and
- 13:33Speaker 2: just happened to find a good shoe? No would they?
- 13:36Speaker 2: Would they abort it then? But it could just be
- 13:38Speaker 2: a change. So she now it's in a nicer kitchen
- 13:42Speaker 2: with different lighting, but it lost some of the authenticity
- 13:46Speaker 2: or just that the connection that some people had with
- 13:50Speaker 2: this one story is gone so they may not. It
- 13:53Speaker 2: may not be outright to say, oh, well, she doesn't
- 13:57Speaker 2: need me anymore. It may just be it doesn't feel
- 14:00Speaker 2: the same. How funny is that too, because even in
- 14:02Speaker 2: your explanation of that, nothing really has changed. The scenes change.
- 14:06Speaker 2: The love that she has for her husband, that she
- 14:09Speaker 2: gets up at four o'clock in the morning to make
- 14:11Speaker 2: these balls out lunches for him is still the same.
- 14:13Speaker 2: The kiss goodbye is still the same. The door he
- 14:16Speaker 2: leaves is different. Consciously, we take all these things in
- 14:21Speaker 2: when we're watching something. When you decide to keep swiping,
- 14:24Speaker 2: there's something subconsciously that says I'm done. Yeah, ok, crazy, Right.
- 14:28Speaker 2: You live by the people, you die by the people.
- 14:30Speaker 2: I say.
- 14:31Speaker 5: If you're leaning on the internet for income, well that's
- 14:34Speaker 5: also a pretty volatile thing to lean.
- 14:36Speaker 2: On there for sure. Four seven nine six four one
- 14:39Speaker 2: text dots seven seven zero three one deb.
- 14:40Speaker 6: News Secretary of State Marco Rubio says Cuba is in
- 14:44Speaker 6: a lot of trouble. A Miami federal judge makes a
- 14:46Speaker 6: decision on Anna Kepner's step brother and where you can
- 14:50Speaker 6: find the best sports bar in America. We'll talk about
- 14:52Speaker 6: that and more coming up next. During JCS news.
- 14:55Speaker 2: All right, say a little break, we'll come back. You
- 14:56Speaker 2: get Debt's duws and do more than Jim Golbert shows,
- 14:58Speaker 2: say put he deals, subscribe and watch.
- 15:05Speaker 9: Jim on the same way. I was watching a couple
- 15:09Speaker 9: for a while. They had some funny episodes, funny shows,
- 15:12Speaker 9: things are dead together, and then all of a sudden,
- 15:15Speaker 9: I'm sitting here watching him. He's got five thousand dollars
- 15:19Speaker 9: brand new clothes that he buys thirty thousand dollars. It's
- 15:24Speaker 9: just like, I'm just like, Wow, I'm contributing to him
- 15:27Speaker 9: getting all that stuff.
- 15:28Speaker 2: I don't even have that stuff.
- 15:29Speaker 7: It screw them, Yep, I'll quit him just as fast.
- 15:33Speaker 2: That's funny, buddy, I'm buy that. Fascinating, man, I really do.
- 15:36Speaker 2: It's a chemistry. It is an experiment. And when you
- 15:39Speaker 2: start changing the ingredient, yeah, you're like, oh wait, it's
- 15:42Speaker 2: not working anymore. That's fascinating to me, man, it really is.
- 15:46Speaker 2: It's super fascinating. You you enjoyed the content. You enjoyed
- 15:49Speaker 2: the content and when it was in the setting that
- 15:51Speaker 2: you approved of, but when the setting changed, you don't
- 15:55Speaker 2: like the content anymore. Even though the content hasn't changed weird,
- 15:59Speaker 2: all right, seven to seven zero three one. That's how
- 16:00Speaker 2: you text us. Welcome back. I'm Jim. Jack and Ross
- 16:03Speaker 2: are right over there, and deb has your news. Let's
- 16:05Speaker 2: get it.
- 16:06Speaker 1: It's time for JCS news. Wow, this guy got to
- 16:11Speaker 1: put his name on everything.
- 16:12Speaker 2: It's in my contracted here's the news on the Jim
- 16:16Speaker 2: Colberg Show.
- 16:17Speaker 6: JCS News is brought to you by that mortgage guy Don.
- 16:20Speaker 6: Secretary of State Mark or Rubio says Cuba is a
- 16:24Speaker 6: national security issue during President Trump's cabinet meeting at the
- 16:28Speaker 6: White House today.
- 16:29Speaker 10: Having a failed state ninety miles from ourshours is a
- 16:33Speaker 10: threat to the national security of the United States.
- 16:35Speaker 6: He went on to say, the US will be working
- 16:37Speaker 6: on it, okay, and hopefully there will be a good
- 16:42Speaker 6: outcome for Cuba.
- 16:43Speaker 2: All right. You on which end do we work out?
- 16:45Speaker 2: I am not.
- 16:47Speaker 6: Really sure, all right. The teen who's accused of killing
- 16:50Speaker 6: his stepsister during a cruise can remain.
- 16:52Speaker 2: Not a jail.
- 16:53Speaker 6: A federal judge rule today that the sixteen year old
- 16:56Speaker 6: can continue to live with a family member until his
- 16:59Speaker 6: trial under certain circumstances. He is facing federal charges of
- 17:03Speaker 6: murder and aggravated sexual abuse in the death of Titusville
- 17:07Speaker 6: teen Anna Kepner. The suspect has pleaded not guilty and
- 17:10Speaker 6: could face life in prison if convicted, if not, the
- 17:13Speaker 6: death penalty. His trial is scheduled to begin in early
- 17:15Speaker 6: September in Miami. I am surprised because even though he
- 17:18Speaker 6: has a GPS ankle monitor, they say he's living in
- 17:21Speaker 6: the with his uncle, in a house with other children,
- 17:23Speaker 6: and they feel that he could be a threat to
- 17:25Speaker 6: those other kids.
- 17:26Speaker 2: That's wild, man, that is wild.
- 17:29Speaker 6: I did not expect that.
- 17:30Speaker 2: But you know, that's crazy. That is absolutely insane. Why
- 17:36Speaker 2: not just incarcerate the guy. That's what just keeping. It's
- 17:40Speaker 2: just September. It's I'm really not even that long far away.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Oddly enough, God, you put him in a house with
- 17:45Speaker 2: other kids. I mean, look, who knows, But I mean.
- 17:48Speaker 6: Anyway, A murder suspect who's considered armed and dangerous is
- 17:55Speaker 6: on the run in Volusia County as Avion Perry the
- 17:58Speaker 6: third is wanted in connection to Gainesville homicide investigation that
- 18:02Speaker 6: stemmed from a domestic violence incident. So police spotted him
- 18:05Speaker 6: in Dayton Beach on Tuesday night, but he took off.
- 18:09Speaker 6: Parr was last seen running toward the main street peer
- 18:11Speaker 6: or Perry rather was last street seen running toward the
- 18:14Speaker 6: main street peer and anyone with information on his whereabouts
- 18:17Speaker 6: don't approach him, just call nine one one, Let law
- 18:20Speaker 6: enforcement take care of it.
- 18:22Speaker 5: Dude couldn't wait any longer for GTA six yes up,
- 18:26Speaker 5: put his own hands.
- 18:28Speaker 6: All right, we knew this was happening. Governor DeSantis is
- 18:31Speaker 6: calling the legislature back into special session Monday to work
- 18:35Speaker 6: on property tax relief. The governor says his proposed amendment
- 18:39Speaker 6: would start by raising the homestead exemption to two hundred
- 18:42Speaker 6: and fifty thousand dollars, which he says would remove property
- 18:45Speaker 6: taxes for sixty percent of Florida residents. Lawmakers would then
- 18:50Speaker 6: phase in even more exception or exemptions.
- 18:53Speaker 2: When you raised to five hundred thousand limit, that's ninety.
- 18:58Speaker 11: Two percent of all Florida residents would be tax free.
- 19:03Speaker 6: And then life is free. Businesses, second homes and non
- 19:07Speaker 6: residents wouldn't get the higher exemption, and news residents would
- 19:10Speaker 6: have to wait five years to qualify. Right, the governor
- 19:13Speaker 6: is really trying to tamp down the people around the
- 19:15Speaker 6: country is going, wait a minute, what you don't have
- 19:17Speaker 6: property tax?
- 19:18Speaker 7: Right?
- 19:18Speaker 2: Yeah, we're moving and then we have even.
- 19:19Speaker 6: More concrete over everything. The amendment would require sixty percent
- 19:23Speaker 6: support in the state House and Senate than sixty percent
- 19:26Speaker 6: support by voters in November.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean theoretically, Yeah, because we've seen that happen before,
- 19:32Speaker 2: and government still fought agains stuff that was approved by
- 19:34Speaker 2: sixty percent on both sides. Yeah, and then we got
- 19:37Speaker 2: you know, and then we got to fight about it.
- 19:38Speaker 2: So hopefully this will go through. I mean, obviously, tax
- 19:40Speaker 2: relief will be great. I don't know where that money's
- 19:42Speaker 2: coming from once they cut that out. Yeah, it's hundreds
- 19:44Speaker 2: of millions of dollars. I mean where that where's that
- 19:46Speaker 2: going to get replaced by?
- 19:47Speaker 6: It's not And if you talk to the Florida League
- 19:49Speaker 6: of Cities, it's a really dangerous.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Hunting seven schools. Yeah, and it's.
- 19:54Speaker 6: One thing when you have, you know, your higher incomes
- 19:57Speaker 6: in an Orange County is seven Old county. You get
- 20:00Speaker 6: up in an Okaloosa County at Gadsden County. I mean,
- 20:03Speaker 6: you're talking about these municipalities can barely provide services as
- 20:08Speaker 6: it is, and now you're going to strip that away.
- 20:10Speaker 2: You're right, like all those counties left of Tallahassee, going
- 20:12Speaker 2: to the Panhandle before you get just the pencilcole in
- 20:15Speaker 2: that area are some of the poorest places in the nation. Man,
- 20:17Speaker 2: they're ar I mean it's really bad up there.
- 20:19Speaker 6: Talk to the Florida League of Cities and they will
- 20:21Speaker 6: tell you just how many little towns and cities in
- 20:24Speaker 6: this state could really really suffer in the name of
- 20:26Speaker 6: property tax relief. It's what pays for our fire police,
- 20:31Speaker 6: our roads, our parks, our libraries. I mean, you cut
- 20:35Speaker 6: it out, it's robbing Peter to pay Paul. Okay, So
- 20:40Speaker 6: this is kind of cool if you know someone who's
- 20:42Speaker 6: a senior citizen in Flagler County because they can get
- 20:44Speaker 6: help with their energy costs. This summer. Eligible seniors can
- 20:48Speaker 6: get up to two thousand dollars for things like utility bills,
- 20:52Speaker 6: shut off notices, or critical HVAC repairs. Now they're encouraged
- 20:57Speaker 6: to contact Flagler County Senior Services for help signing up.
- 21:00Speaker 6: The program is offered twice a year. But that's pretty cool.
- 21:03Speaker 6: Fixed income, you probably don't have two thousand dollars laying
- 21:06Speaker 6: around for home repairs. Yeah, tough there, It is tough,
- 21:08Speaker 6: but with hurricane season it'd be great to get that started,
- 21:11Speaker 6: all right. Those trying to block Florida's new congressional map
- 21:14Speaker 6: are dealing with the legal setback of Florida judge yesterday
- 21:17Speaker 6: rejected a request for an injunction that would have stopped
- 21:19Speaker 6: the new map that heavily favors Republicans from taking effect.
- 21:23Speaker 6: Barry Universities doctor Sean Foreman says Wie Wasserman Schultz is
- 21:28Speaker 6: getting flack for running in District twenty historically one by
- 21:32Speaker 6: an African American.
- 21:34Speaker 10: I understand these African American community leaders concerned that they'll
- 21:39Speaker 10: have probably one less black member of Congress, several less
- 21:43Speaker 10: with all the redistricting happening across the state.
- 21:45Speaker 6: The plaintiffs said they will appeal. After the judge's decision
- 21:48Speaker 6: was announced, Governor Ron DeSantis wrote on X quote let's roll,
- 21:53Speaker 6: end quote, let's roll, let's do this this monster jam.
- 22:01Speaker 6: I think two live crews.
- 22:04Speaker 2: Luther Campbell.
- 22:05Speaker 6: Luther Campbell is one of those running. Oh really yeah, interesting, yeah,
- 22:09Speaker 6: get the out.
- 22:12Speaker 2: Wonder if he'll get a patche fly by.
- 22:16Speaker 6: All right, closer to home, over a dozen victims, actually
- 22:20Speaker 6: now eighteen victims are linked to a hidden camera investigation
- 22:25Speaker 6: in winter Park oh Nicholas Esparza, I believe was a
- 22:29Speaker 6: pre law student, was rearrested after he was initially taken
- 22:33Speaker 6: into custody earlier this month. Police now say at least
- 22:36Speaker 6: again eighteen people appear in surveillance video connected to the
- 22:40Speaker 6: case using the bathroom oh man. The victims include children, teenagers, adults.
- 22:46Speaker 6: Detectives say the charges have been upgraded to felony.
- 22:50Speaker 3: Wow.
- 22:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm looking at the mugshot. He fits God, he
- 22:55Speaker 2: does does. Yeah.
- 22:56Speaker 5: Yes, he is the face of someone would put a
- 22:59Speaker 5: bathroom toil it in. Yeah, let me go the bathroom
- 23:01Speaker 5: camera toilet as Sparsa. You saying as Sparsa.
- 23:04Speaker 2: Yeah, he's got that vibe.
- 23:06Speaker 8: Let me see he's the vibe.
- 23:08Speaker 2: Does he have the vibe? The vibe here or not?
- 23:13Speaker 2: He feels like he has the vibe. I gotta see
- 23:15Speaker 2: a picture. We meant, oh, yes, vibe, go to jail.
- 23:22Speaker 2: He's got that.
- 23:23Speaker 5: You see that hair gym. He's kind of got that
- 23:25Speaker 5: coin flip. I'll hit you with the air pressure. Yeah yeah,
- 23:29Speaker 5: no country for old men. Yeah, he does have that.
- 23:31Speaker 5: He's got that top going for him.
- 23:34Speaker 8: All right.
- 23:34Speaker 6: A big part of the Orlando Science Center is about
- 23:36Speaker 6: to reopen. The Big Dome Theater on East Princeton Street
- 23:40Speaker 6: is set to reopen Monday under its new name The
- 23:42Speaker 6: Dome by Doctor Phillips Charities. The theater includes a new
- 23:46Speaker 6: curved nano seam screen, nano seam, better seat, it's a
- 23:52Speaker 6: better sound system, and eight thousand laser projectors.
- 23:55Speaker 2: All right, yeah right.
- 23:58Speaker 5: Let's go special or can you actually say to even
- 24:01Speaker 5: more sci fi?
- 24:02Speaker 12: Like?
- 24:03Speaker 6: Eight thousand laser projectors? Now the center will host nature
- 24:07Speaker 6: films and laser light shows featuring music by Pink Floyd,
- 24:11Speaker 6: Taylor Swift, what and other artists. President and CEO Joe
- 24:17Speaker 6: Ann Newman tells Orlendo Sentinel the Dome is a big
- 24:19Speaker 6: step forward and how they present storytelling that educates and
- 24:23Speaker 6: inspires contemporary audiences.
- 24:25Speaker 2: Yeah, Taylor Swift does not fit the planetarium vibe. That
- 24:29Speaker 2: is a definite Pink Floyd kind of fish tool kind
- 24:33Speaker 2: of thing where you sit back, you maybe do some
- 24:35Speaker 2: things before you get there. Ah, you soak it all up.
- 24:38Speaker 2: I want to learn about the dark side of the moon.
- 24:39Speaker 2: Let's go, let's go, let's go.
- 24:41Speaker 6: So that you're going to want to make sure though
- 24:44Speaker 6: that you and bide, but you keep it away from
- 24:46Speaker 6: your pets. Turns out a new warning for pet owners
- 24:49Speaker 6: THHC edibles are posing a growing threat to dogs.
- 24:53Speaker 2: I don't know anything about that.
- 24:55Speaker 6: According to the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center, Florida officially
- 24:59Speaker 6: ran and the top five states, oh No, for the
- 25:03Speaker 6: highest number of marijuana related pet tocsin calls.
- 25:06Speaker 2: Wow. Really? Now?
- 25:08Speaker 6: Miami Dade County accounts for roughly ten percent of all
- 25:13Speaker 6: marijuana related toxin calls.
- 25:15Speaker 2: But those in Miami are not accidents. That's like Kodak
- 25:17Speaker 2: by going yo, let's get this dog high. Yeah, cross
- 25:19Speaker 2: the entire That's just like wanting to see what their
- 25:21Speaker 2: bulldog looks like wrecked. That's exactly what that is.
- 25:24Speaker 6: Now, for those who do not know, experts say dogs
- 25:27Speaker 6: are highly attracted to the smell of cannabis.
- 25:29Speaker 2: Did not know that.
- 25:30Speaker 6: Symptoms to watch out for include glassy eyes, extreme lethargy,
- 25:34Speaker 6: loss of balance, and sudden urinary incontinence. That's for any
- 25:39Speaker 6: bar on a Friday or Saturday night.
- 25:40Speaker 2: It makes them be themselves. Oh that's kind of crazy.
- 25:43Speaker 2: It makes them just louse and roll their bowels. I
- 25:46Speaker 2: mean not every time. How would you how would you know?
- 25:49Speaker 6: What do you mean? Every time?
- 25:51Speaker 3: Oh?
- 25:51Speaker 4: That's right.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Your dog got to do like a sack of your gummies,
- 25:54Speaker 2: barely made it.
- 25:55Speaker 5: No, no, no, no, yeah. If I tell you the truth,
- 25:58Speaker 5: you're not going to believe me. It was an old
- 26:00Speaker 5: woman's brownie that had like ten mill and then my
- 26:03Speaker 5: dog got a hold of it. And because she was
- 26:06Speaker 5: very forgetful. What do you mean about old woman? She was,
- 26:10Speaker 5: I mean very old. It was my mother in law's
- 26:13Speaker 5: friend who came over and she's got that like old
- 26:15Speaker 5: woman shuffle.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Yeah, so I think she took it for her bones.
- 26:18Speaker 5: Oh I see, yeah, yeah, she was on that trajectory
- 26:21Speaker 5: with her relationship with cannabis. But she left a brownie out,
- 26:24Speaker 5: my dog got it, and oh my dog was on
- 26:27Speaker 5: ice skates. I mean, but yeah, I know you'urin Asian
- 26:31Speaker 5: or anything, nothing like that.
- 26:33Speaker 2: Well, what do you think it's more damaging than the
- 26:35Speaker 2: dub the cannabis chocolate takes a lot of chocolate. That's
- 26:39Speaker 2: a bit of a myth. It's hard not to laugh
- 26:41Speaker 2: throughout the whole time.
- 26:42Speaker 6: I wouldn't say that. I don't know your dexter would
- 26:47Speaker 6: be able to handle chocolate. I wouldn't take any risks
- 26:49Speaker 6: with Sadie.
- 26:50Speaker 2: I had an eight pound dogs and eat a one
- 26:54Speaker 2: pound bunny and just just poop chocolate sauce for a
- 26:58Speaker 2: couple of days, and the other than that.
- 27:00Speaker 6: Right back other animal news. Two members of President Trump's
- 27:03Speaker 6: cabinet were busy in Florida over the Memorial Day weekend.
- 27:07Speaker 6: Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Junior posted
- 27:10Speaker 6: a now viral video on x that shows him wrangling
- 27:13Speaker 6: two snakes from the patio of doctor Memmet Oz's Palm
- 27:17Speaker 6: Beach home. While Kennedy is holding both snakes with his hands,
- 27:20Speaker 6: the Administrator of the US Centers for Medicare and Medicaid
- 27:23Speaker 6: Services Oz announces what he believes they're engaging in.
- 27:30Speaker 2: So what were they?
- 27:31Speaker 6: The snakes are actually black racers, which are non venomous
- 27:42Speaker 6: and commonly found in Florida.
- 27:44Speaker 5: But they were him too, They were in the video.
- 27:48Speaker 5: It's also, by the way, that's audio. That's what RFK
- 27:52Speaker 5: sounds like every audio dripp.
- 27:54Speaker 6: In the video. RFK Junior's wife, actor Cheryl Hines, pleads
- 27:58Speaker 6: with her husband to drop the snake. Says they bit
- 28:00Speaker 6: his fingers, nibbled.
- 28:02Speaker 2: Just a little nibble. The snakes went on to say,
- 28:05Speaker 2: I told him not the tread on me.
- 28:08Speaker 6: They're like, can't we finish first?
- 28:10Speaker 7: Right?
- 28:10Speaker 2: Yeah? By the way, that was recorded in a studio.
- 28:12Speaker 6: Yeah, all right. Tiger Woods is expected to miss all
- 28:16Speaker 6: four major PGA championships for a second straight year. Sports
- 28:19Speaker 6: Illustrated reports Woods did not enter the twenty twenty six
- 28:23Speaker 6: Open Championship before last week's deadline. The fifteen time major
- 28:27Speaker 6: winner is also not exempt for next next month's US
- 28:30Speaker 6: Open at.
- 28:33Speaker 2: Shinakok.
- 28:33Speaker 6: Thank you, Yeah in New york Y. Yeah, you can
- 28:36Speaker 6: take that one. Woods hasn't competed since missing the cut
- 28:40Speaker 6: at the twenty twenty four Open Championship.
- 28:43Speaker 2: I don't think you're gonna see Tiger a lot. I
- 28:44Speaker 2: think you've seen Tiger.
- 28:46Speaker 6: The fifty year old has played in just eight majors
- 28:49Speaker 6: since a twenty twenty one single vehicle crash in California,
- 28:53Speaker 6: with four miss cuts and two withdrawals. Woods saw his
- 28:56Speaker 6: comeback halted following a March car crash in duy Ors
- 29:00Speaker 6: in South Florida.
- 29:00Speaker 2: I gotta tell you that this last one got other
- 29:03Speaker 2: players kind of turning on him a little bit. Oh yeah, Yeah.
- 29:06Speaker 2: There was more chatter about him being irresponsible and not
- 29:10Speaker 2: really kind of living up to what his legacy has
- 29:13Speaker 2: been than I've ever heard before. I mean, this was
- 29:15Speaker 2: like a weird break for a lot of guys who
- 29:17Speaker 2: have supported him a long time.
- 29:19Speaker 5: Well, it also doesn't help that he proceeded to say
- 29:21Speaker 5: like the corniest thing I've ever heard a professional goat
- 29:26Speaker 5: athlete ever say. After Oh, sorry about that, guys, I
- 29:30Speaker 5: was just calling the president president.
- 29:32Speaker 2: Due the COPT that's great, all right, so that I
- 29:38Speaker 2: needed to hang out pad at him on the top
- 29:41Speaker 2: on they had like a A good boy, that's for you,
- 29:43Speaker 2: I'm sure, and we know that you are, but you're
- 29:45Speaker 2: missing the point.
- 29:48Speaker 3: All right.
- 29:49Speaker 6: The best sports bar in all of America is what state?
- 29:54Speaker 2: Buffalo, Vegas?
- 29:56Speaker 6: Jack, You're never going to get this. Then it's Boston, Northeast, Ohio.
- 30:01Speaker 8: I was gonna say, Oh, I was.
- 30:03Speaker 2: Just about to say Cincinnati or Cleveland for some reason.
- 30:05Speaker 2: Really yeah, man, it's according to the US place where
- 30:08Speaker 2: they have nothing else from that exactly. But Vegas has
- 30:11Speaker 2: that crazy thing the Krabits went to. That whole thing
- 30:13Speaker 2: is like the it's like the sports book, there's TV's
- 30:16Speaker 2: a big pool, the whole nine yards. I thought maybe
- 30:18Speaker 2: that would be it.
- 30:18Speaker 6: No, it's according to USA Today's ten Best Reader's Choice Awards,
- 30:22Speaker 6: which ranked Winking Lizard Tavern, Okay as the best sports
- 30:26Speaker 6: bar in the country. Since first opening in nineteen eighty three,
- 30:30Speaker 6: the Winking Lizard has expanded to more than a dozen
- 30:32Speaker 6: locations across northeast Ohio. USA Today says the top spot
- 30:37Speaker 6: went to Winking Lizard due to its wings, burgers, ribs,
- 30:40Speaker 6: and pizza paired with more than one hundred beers, wall
- 30:44Speaker 6: to wall TVs and it's all around atmosphere.
- 30:47Speaker 2: Yeah, are the sport Is the sports bar? Is that
- 30:49Speaker 2: kind of thing in Florida still strong? Because I know
- 30:52Speaker 2: that Hooters has had a difficult time. Wing House is gone.
- 30:55Speaker 2: I don't know if Twin Peaks is doing. Okay. Those
- 30:57Speaker 2: were all built built around like the sports boot bar thing,
- 31:00Speaker 2: and are they doing. I think those are more of
- 31:03Speaker 2: the boobs in the sports yeah, that they were built on. Yeah,
- 31:06Speaker 2: but I mean that's what a sports bar is, right.
- 31:07Speaker 2: I mean, I know there are friends over at Froggers
- 31:10Speaker 2: do well, that's a sports bar, is it not?
- 31:11Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 31:12Speaker 5: But I think it's I think we have come to
- 31:15Speaker 5: the conclusion that sports bars we enjoy boob free a
- 31:17Speaker 5: little bit because we know that the boob tax is
- 31:20Speaker 5: on the wings, boob tax is on the beer on
- 31:24Speaker 5: the draft. And I much rather have a friend than
- 31:26Speaker 5: a boob that I can pretend to think that likes
- 31:29Speaker 5: me bad.
- 31:29Speaker 2: How funny would that be if it said burger boob
- 31:31Speaker 2: tax two bucks?
- 31:32Speaker 8: You know? Yeah?
- 31:34Speaker 6: And that concludes your JCS news boobs A.
- 31:41Speaker 2: Four one text does seven to seven zero three one
- 31:43Speaker 2: back in a second with their buddy Darryl Payne with.
- 31:51Speaker 8: Bross.
- 31:51Speaker 13: I have a question for you, man. So I'm thirty six,
- 31:53Speaker 13: I'm married, and I have a two year old. We're
- 31:54Speaker 13: in a similar stage of life right now. How do
- 31:56Speaker 13: you have time for gaming? I'm jealous of that.
- 31:58Speaker 3: Man.
- 31:58Speaker 13: My wife and I we get up at six in
- 32:00Speaker 13: the morning for work, We take the baby to daycare.
- 32:02Speaker 13: By the time we work all day, get back home,
- 32:04Speaker 13: get everything cleaned up, cook and eat dinner, and get
- 32:06Speaker 13: the baby down for bed, it's like nine thirty and
- 32:09Speaker 13: more exhausted. I have literally zero time for gaming, and
- 32:12Speaker 13: the weekends are just really family time because that's the
- 32:15Speaker 13: only time we get to actually spend whole days together.
- 32:17Speaker 13: I haven't gamed in two years. How do you do it?
- 32:19Speaker 13: What's the secret?
- 32:21Speaker 2: Legit? Question. Yeah, really legit question legit? I mean, do
- 32:25Speaker 2: you want me to answer that? Now?
- 32:26Speaker 14: Oh?
- 32:27Speaker 2: All right? Poros seven nine one four one, text seven
- 32:30Speaker 2: seven zero three one. Welcome back on Jim. There's deb Hello,
- 32:33Speaker 2: Jack is here. Yeah, so is Ross.
- 32:34Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 32:35Speaker 2: Now we'll get to animal house in just a few minutes.
- 32:37Speaker 2: But what we've decided to do with the animal house
- 32:39Speaker 2: is have Daryl coming a little bit early. Let you
- 32:41Speaker 2: guys know, we are going to be taking calls at
- 32:43Speaker 2: the top of the hour for your dog's behavior. Daryl,
- 32:45Speaker 2: of course from pofection doctrining, get the CD what's up?
- 32:48Speaker 8: Yes, good see.
- 32:49Speaker 2: And one of the other things I was talking to
- 32:51Speaker 2: Daryl about a couple of weeks ago. I was like,
- 32:53Speaker 2: you know what, I bet there are things out there
- 32:55Speaker 2: that you could use other than your training expertise, to
- 32:58Speaker 2: talk to people about their dogs, about things that they
- 33:00Speaker 2: do to their dogs that they that the dogs really
- 33:03Speaker 2: don't care for. Like I know this. I love to
- 33:05Speaker 2: pick up my little dog and hold her like a
- 33:07Speaker 2: baby like that, and I know she hates it. I
- 33:11Speaker 2: know she hates it. She looks at me like she
- 33:12Speaker 2: hates it, But I like it, and I'm bigger, so
- 33:16Speaker 2: I forced that love on her. But that was the
- 33:18Speaker 2: whole point, Like, you know, every week, have something that
- 33:20Speaker 2: you know that you can use your expertise of dealing
- 33:23Speaker 2: with dogs for, Like what happened more than half your life?
- 33:25Speaker 15: Well, yeah, I've been trying to dope. They fourty years
- 33:28Speaker 15: now forty years. Yeah, and I'm sixty one, so yeah,
- 33:31Speaker 15: we do the math. Yeah, So I just like you said,
- 33:34Speaker 15: half your life, yeah, yeah.
- 33:35Speaker 8: More than yeah.
- 33:36Speaker 2: So I thought it'd be kind of cool for you
- 33:37Speaker 2: to go over a few things. By the way, I
- 33:38Speaker 2: think we had a thing out of jackets working on
- 33:41Speaker 2: getting it on one of the panels right now, right there.
- 33:44Speaker 2: It is at jimplbard live dot com. But go over
- 33:46Speaker 2: a few of those things. And people believe that when
- 33:48Speaker 2: they do to their dogs or dogs love it, but
- 33:49Speaker 2: they really don't.
- 33:50Speaker 15: Yeahs where we we misunderstand each other because we apply
- 33:55Speaker 15: our human values to a dogs. And so I've just
- 33:58Speaker 15: coupled together five things that immediately come to mind, and
- 34:01Speaker 15: the first one you've touched on already. We're hugging too tightly.
- 34:05Speaker 15: You know, we get our dog and we squeeze him
- 34:06Speaker 15: and love them and call him George, and you know,
- 34:09Speaker 15: they really don't like that. You know, they'll tolerate it,
- 34:15Speaker 15: they don't like it.
- 34:16Speaker 2: And how do you guys know that? Like, is it
- 34:18Speaker 2: just because the way the dog reacts?
- 34:20Speaker 15: Now you look at their body language when you do that,
- 34:23Speaker 15: they're kind of looking to the side, like get me
- 34:25Speaker 15: out of here.
- 34:25Speaker 7: You know.
- 34:25Speaker 8: It's it's like.
- 34:27Speaker 15: When your auntie, you know, the old auntie grabs hold
- 34:30Speaker 15: of you when you're a kid, you know, and you're
- 34:31Speaker 15: looking at like, please make this stop.
- 34:34Speaker 2: Arms straight out. You're not reciprocating the hug at all.
- 34:37Speaker 15: I mean, they like to be petted, you know, and
- 34:39Speaker 15: that kind of thing. They like the interaction with you.
- 34:42Speaker 15: But hugging them too tightly is really putting them in
- 34:45Speaker 15: a position where they can't get away.
- 34:48Speaker 2: You're confeining absolutely.
- 34:49Speaker 15: It's a bit like putting the dog in a cage,
- 34:50Speaker 15: and you know you're taking away their options. And so
- 34:54Speaker 15: you know, by all means interact with them, hug them
- 34:57Speaker 15: a little bit, you know, put a little bit of yeah,
- 34:59Speaker 15: love in there, but don't hug them so they can't
- 35:01Speaker 15: get away.
- 35:02Speaker 2: Do they look at it negatively as if you're doing
- 35:04Speaker 2: something bad to them, Like will they remember that you
- 35:07Speaker 2: do that? And kind of avoid you.
- 35:08Speaker 15: Well, they what they'll what they'll do is they will
- 35:10Speaker 15: tolerate it because they love you. But what it will
- 35:14Speaker 15: do is the next time you go near them in
- 35:16Speaker 15: that kind of way again, they're gonna they're gonna be
- 35:18Speaker 15: pushing away from you because they don't want it to
- 35:20Speaker 15: happen again. Yeah, yeah, my dog, My dog does that
- 35:23Speaker 15: right now. It's pretty much like I have a running
- 35:25Speaker 15: chainsaw every time I approach her. Yeah, that's that's exactly
- 35:29Speaker 15: what it's like.
- 35:30Speaker 8: Cars.
- 35:30Speaker 15: Yeah, that's why I've done my dog's nails, because you know,
- 35:34Speaker 15: you've only got to do it once you touch their feet.
- 35:36Speaker 15: After that, they're going nowhere. So it comes to number two.
- 35:39Speaker 15: The number two is inconsistent rules. That is where we
- 35:43Speaker 15: change our minds. Hey, you're allowed on the sofa today,
- 35:46Speaker 15: but tomorrow you're not, And the following day you are,
- 35:49Speaker 15: but then the next day you're not. They like consistency.
- 35:52Speaker 15: They like to know where the rules are. They like
- 35:54Speaker 15: to know what they can do and what they can't do.
- 35:57Speaker 8: Otherwise they get confused. You know.
- 35:59Speaker 15: It's like, well likens too, don't they they do, so
- 36:02Speaker 15: you need to make things simple for them. They're like me,
- 36:06Speaker 15: we need simple, like every keep it real basic. I mean,
- 36:11Speaker 15: if Penny just made things simpler for me during our marriage,
- 36:14Speaker 15: it have been much if just you set the rules,
- 36:17Speaker 15: you know, I worked it out in the end. I'm
- 36:18Speaker 15: always wrong and that's fine.
- 36:20Speaker 2: I know that.
- 36:21Speaker 8: Now. That's right.
- 36:23Speaker 15: Number three, invading their personal space and say you can
- 36:25Speaker 15: get all this on the on the page. It's on
- 36:28Speaker 15: the on there in cartoon form, so that I can
- 36:31Speaker 15: understand it and it's easy for you as well.
- 36:32Speaker 2: So that means if they have like a bed in
- 36:34Speaker 2: the house somewhere and they're in that bed, like, leave
- 36:36Speaker 2: them be until they leave that bed, or is it
- 36:37Speaker 2: something different than that?
- 36:38Speaker 15: They're in their safe space and you you don't want
- 36:41Speaker 15: to be going down there. But it's more about getting
- 36:43Speaker 15: your face in their face.
- 36:46Speaker 6: So don't stare when they're pooping.
- 36:48Speaker 8: Yeah, well they don't like that.
- 36:49Speaker 2: They do not If you.
- 36:50Speaker 6: Notice, does your dog turn their back to you when
- 36:52Speaker 6: they're pooping.
- 36:53Speaker 2: It's the only time my dog makes eye contact. Wow, weird, weird,
- 37:00Speaker 2: we have a relationship. What have you trained your dog?
- 37:06Speaker 2: Were sitting on the kitchen floor.
- 37:07Speaker 15: Well, that's why if you're going to take the dog
- 37:09Speaker 15: out to poop in the back guard and you don't
- 37:10Speaker 15: have a fence or you know, you're just taking them
- 37:12Speaker 15: out to go to the bathroom. You know, put them
- 37:14Speaker 15: on a retractable leation and give them the ability to
- 37:16Speaker 15: go away from you, to get a little privacy, which.
- 37:19Speaker 2: Is letters up front.
- 37:20Speaker 7: Let her go.
- 37:20Speaker 2: She goes, she has a little area, she goes, does it,
- 37:22Speaker 2: and then comes right back because she knows there's a
- 37:24Speaker 2: treat coming, so she goes out there to do it
- 37:26Speaker 2: so she can get a treat.
- 37:28Speaker 8: That's probably why she's looking at Yeah.
- 37:33Speaker 15: So the invade in the personal space is more about
- 37:36Speaker 15: you getting your face in their face, getting right in
- 37:39Speaker 15: close to them, and especially when you're staring at a dog.
- 37:42Speaker 15: When you're staring at a dog, what you're doing is
- 37:44Speaker 15: you're challenging a dog. We see it as friendly, happy,
- 37:48Speaker 15: Hey you beat my friend. They see it as do
- 37:50Speaker 15: you want to fight? So it's a miscommunication between the
- 37:53Speaker 15: species there. So you know, don't invade their space. Number
- 37:56Speaker 15: four not in allowing enough sniffing on the walks. This
- 38:00Speaker 15: is something that I talk about a lot when I'm
- 38:03Speaker 15: doing in homes and stuff like that. Allowing your dog
- 38:06Speaker 15: on a walk to sniff this is their Facebook time. Yeah,
- 38:12Speaker 15: they're looking at see who's been there, and you know,
- 38:15Speaker 15: is a boy or a girl or here. They can
- 38:17Speaker 15: tell the sex of a dog. They can tell if
- 38:19Speaker 15: it's a dog. They know, they can tell the dominance
- 38:22Speaker 15: of a dog by the markings that are on the
- 38:24Speaker 15: road there. So they want to sniff that, you know,
- 38:28Speaker 15: it's it's good for them to sniff and get that
- 38:31Speaker 15: kind of dog activity going because a lot of people
- 38:35Speaker 15: think that walking is the dog has to walk right
- 38:37Speaker 15: next to you the whole time like it's an obedience competition,
- 38:41Speaker 15: and that sucks for a dog. You know, in all honesty,
- 38:44Speaker 15: we walk at about at most four miles an hour.
- 38:47Speaker 15: That's half of what a dog would do. So if
- 38:50Speaker 15: you know, if you're trying to give the dog exercise,
- 38:53Speaker 15: you're not doing it because the dog is like taking
- 38:56Speaker 15: one year old neighbor out for a walk.
- 38:58Speaker 8: To get some exercise. Who walks at one hour?
- 39:00Speaker 15: You're not gonna get You're not gonna break a sweat,
- 39:02Speaker 15: right right, So with us, you know, to your dog,
- 39:05Speaker 15: you are the ninety one year old neighbors. So to
- 39:08Speaker 15: get the exercise and wear the dog out, let them sniff.
- 39:11Speaker 2: Yeah, just be patient because that's their reading right, Like
- 39:14Speaker 2: they're reading right, they're learning about their environment by smelling,
- 39:17Speaker 2: and you're gonna wear them out. And after you told
- 39:19Speaker 2: me that, I used to I used to kind of
- 39:20Speaker 2: be like, well, I have ten minutes to want my dog,
- 39:23Speaker 2: and I would just kind of go, come on, come on,
- 39:24Speaker 2: come on, let's go, let's go. Let's get this zerver
- 39:26Speaker 2: with like it was a task. And after we talked
- 39:28Speaker 2: about that, I was like, Okay, we'll have to book
- 39:30Speaker 2: more time. Let the dog sniff and actually be honest
- 39:32Speaker 2: with you. After the first like five minutes when they
- 39:34Speaker 2: do the sniffing, they're pretty much kind of moving on
- 39:36Speaker 2: to your pace anyway.
- 39:37Speaker 8: Yeah, absolutely, that's that's the thing. Number five.
- 39:40Speaker 15: Then forcing social interactions. We're really good at this as humans.
- 39:44Speaker 15: We want our dog to make friends. So what we
- 39:47Speaker 15: do is we and your your neighbors want their dogs
- 39:49Speaker 15: to be your dog's friends. So they come up, Hey,
- 39:51Speaker 15: can they say hi? No, don't say high. Dogs have
- 39:57Speaker 15: a certain way of introducing themselves to other dogs, and
- 40:02Speaker 15: it doesn't involve being face to face with another dog.
- 40:05Speaker 15: Going back to the staring thing, you put two dogs
- 40:08Speaker 15: together in a close proximity when they're both on a leash,
- 40:11Speaker 15: so you've taken away their ability to get away. Now
- 40:14Speaker 15: they're staring at each other as well. You're creating the
- 40:17Speaker 15: perfect storm for for a problem for yourself. So don't
- 40:23Speaker 15: force them into situations. Let them be around another dog
- 40:26Speaker 15: you know you don't want to be, you know, crossing
- 40:28Speaker 15: the leashes over. It's a bit like Ghostbusters. Don't crush,
- 40:33Speaker 15: but you want them to be around each other. They'll
- 40:37Speaker 15: normally when they're meeting in a dog part, you'll see
- 40:39Speaker 15: that they go propably side onto each other. They'll sniff
- 40:42Speaker 15: each other's butts.
- 40:44Speaker 6: Thank god, God gave that.
- 40:45Speaker 2: To that what they're all about. And then they'll decide
- 40:48Speaker 2: whether or not they like you exactly on the body language.
- 40:51Speaker 8: They'll decide, yeah, are they going to play together? Are
- 40:54Speaker 8: they going to ignore each other? Because they've got the
- 40:56Speaker 8: ability to do that.
- 40:57Speaker 15: But if you're forcing them together on leashes, that's gonna
- 41:01Speaker 15: be a problem.
- 41:02Speaker 2: Those are awesome. By the way, Uh, well, let's go
- 41:05Speaker 2: and take a little break. We'll come back. And by
- 41:06Speaker 2: the way, if you want to load up the phones
- 41:07Speaker 2: if you have questions about your dog's behavior. Dog Daryl
- 41:10Speaker 2: is a certified dog trainer's been doing it like you said,
- 41:13Speaker 2: for forty years of his life. He runs Paw Affection
- 41:15Speaker 2: Dog Training. Will tell you more about that in a second,
- 41:17Speaker 2: but four oh seven nine one one. If you have
- 41:20Speaker 2: a question about your dog's behavior and you want some
- 41:23Speaker 2: free advice, my man Darrel will do that for you.
- 41:24Speaker 2: Next let them up during the break and we'll take
- 41:26Speaker 2: those calls right after this.
- 41:28Speaker 4: Aha.
- 41:29Speaker 8: Oh, Ross, great to see.
- 41:31Speaker 16: Your rocking the vintage Mary Monarch T shirt there, brouh.
- 41:34Speaker 16: And you know, coming off you guys trip to Hawaii
- 41:37Speaker 16: Malama Breda because you have really cool to see how
- 41:41Speaker 16: you've gained the respect, saw parts of the life that
- 41:44Speaker 16: a lot of people that travel there don't. Rah blew
- 41:48Speaker 16: up Saturday night at Pineapple's. We can't wait for your dissertation.
- 41:55Speaker 2: Helloha, Yeah, I want to hear all about that. I
- 41:57Speaker 2: heard some things, you saw some some things, all right?
- 42:01Speaker 2: Seven to seven zero three one. That's how you text us.
- 42:03Speaker 2: If you'd like to leave a talk back, it's easy.
- 42:04Speaker 2: Grab the iHeartRadio app. Got a real radio and use
- 42:07Speaker 2: that mic to send your comment over to Jane. We'll
- 42:09Speaker 2: get you on there. Welcome back. I'm Jim Jack and
- 42:11Speaker 2: ross A right over there, and Deb has an animal house.
- 42:14Speaker 1: She likes them fuzzy, furry, feathery, tough and scaly. It's
- 42:20Speaker 1: time for animal house with De Roberts.
- 42:23Speaker 6: Animal House is general sly brought to us each and
- 42:25Speaker 6: every week by personal injury attorney Glenn Klausman over at
- 42:28Speaker 6: Klosman Law. We'll tell you how you can get in
- 42:30Speaker 6: touch with Glenn. But now please well join me and
- 42:32Speaker 6: welcoming back. Daryl Payne from Popfection Dog Training.
- 42:38Speaker 2: We just saw this guy, yeah, Darryl. First thing's first house, Penny.
- 42:44Speaker 15: Yeah, she's fine. I was just saying in the break
- 42:46Speaker 15: she got bitten brown recluse spider. Oh my yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 42:50Speaker 15: that was last last week, a weekend before lost and
- 42:53Speaker 15: it took a week and one of her arms looked
- 42:57Speaker 15: like Arnold Schwartzenegger to come over and try it for
- 42:59Speaker 15: a week, right, right, But now she can climb buildings absolutely, yeah,
- 43:03Speaker 15: so she now has bigs web right right.
- 43:07Speaker 2: So we do have actually a couple of calls. They're
- 43:08Speaker 2: all obviously for Perfection Dog Training, a dog training place
- 43:11Speaker 2: here in Central Forward for how many years or seventeen
- 43:14Speaker 2: seventeen years, seventeen years And Daryl will take calls on
- 43:19Speaker 2: your dog's behavior. If you're having issues with your dog barking, licking, jumping,
- 43:24Speaker 2: eating poop, chasing your cat, whatever the case may be.
- 43:27Speaker 2: Darryl specializes in this by the way, he has classes.
- 43:30Speaker 2: He can give you some advice here, give you a
- 43:31Speaker 2: couple of things to try. It doesn't work, you can
- 43:32Speaker 2: obviously book an appointment and go over to Potfection and
- 43:35Speaker 2: have that worked out.
- 43:36Speaker 8: So and we.
- 43:37Speaker 15: Actually have on the sixth of June, save the date,
- 43:41Speaker 15: sixth of June at eleven thirty over at the Shane
- 43:44Speaker 15: Kelly Park in a Veto, we're doing a free come
- 43:47Speaker 15: and try the agility. If you've ever fancied trying Agyllousy
- 43:50Speaker 15: with your dog but didn't want to sign up to
- 43:52Speaker 15: a class, or you know, you know, didn't want any
- 43:54Speaker 15: sort of financial outlay and you just wanted to try
- 43:56Speaker 15: it to see if your dog super Bowl. Come I
- 43:58Speaker 15: see this, Give us a call, speak to Penny four
- 44:01Speaker 15: oh seven four five six one o six six and

- 44:06Speaker 15: over at them thirty. We'll take you around the agility

- 44:11Speaker 15: or or not. Let's get these guys real quick here's Debbie. Debbie,
- 44:16Speaker 15: how you doing. You're on with Darryl from Parfection Dog Training.
- 44:19Speaker 17: I'm great, glad to be on.
- 44:21Speaker 8: What's your question?
- 44:24Speaker 17: Yes, my question is I have a four year old
- 44:26Speaker 17: Roddy who aggressively lunges at vehicles when I'm walking him
- 44:31Speaker 17: in my neighborhood. It can be the FedEx, it can
- 44:33Speaker 17: be the garbage truck, it can be a neighbor. He
- 44:35Speaker 17: doesn't even know, and I just don't know how to
- 44:39Speaker 17: stop the behavior.
- 44:40Speaker 8: I'll tell you exactly how to stop it. Call us.
- 44:43Speaker 2: I knew you would.
- 44:44Speaker 15: Yeah, because the dog is being over protective, and it's
- 44:49Speaker 15: being combined with the chase drive because things are fast moving,
- 44:55Speaker 15: so things that are fast moving trigger the more.
- 44:58Speaker 8: And but the biggest thing, you know, he's a Rottwiler.
- 45:01Speaker 8: He has a.
- 45:01Speaker 15: Natural propensity towards a protective instinct, especially of you. So
- 45:07Speaker 15: what he thinks is that the FedEx man is coming
- 45:10Speaker 15: to murder you, as is Amazon. If I don't tell
- 45:14Speaker 15: any of that, Amazon's not coming to murder you because
- 45:16Speaker 15: it stops it come. So he's being over protective and
- 45:21Speaker 15: that's where the lungeon is coming from. Plus, because he's
- 45:24Speaker 15: on a leash. He's getting a little bit braver than
- 45:26Speaker 15: he would otherwise. It doesn't mean that he's actually going
- 45:29Speaker 15: to attack anyone, but it does mean we need to
- 45:31Speaker 15: switch him off and how to do that. We need
- 45:33Speaker 15: to work out what's right for him, because dogs aren't
- 45:36Speaker 15: all the same.
- 45:36Speaker 2: And by the way, him being a really big dog,
- 45:38Speaker 2: and obviously all the news now another dog attack at
- 45:41Speaker 2: a dog park yesterday I think it was, and then
- 45:44Speaker 2: of course the death of that lady a couple of
- 45:45Speaker 2: weeks ago. And you have a dog that is going
- 45:48Speaker 2: to be one hundred pound dog with you know, with
- 45:51Speaker 2: already kind of a reputation for being one of those
- 45:53Speaker 2: kind of dogs. You really really need to be careful, Debbie,
- 45:56Speaker 2: you really do.
- 45:57Speaker 15: The one of the sections of the new Ain't Just
- 46:00Speaker 15: Dog Act is that if your dog puts someone in
- 46:02Speaker 15: fear for their safety. So if someone is just afraid
- 46:06Speaker 15: or made put in fear by your dog, then that
- 46:09Speaker 15: can trigger a dangerous dog inquirry by animal control. So
- 46:15Speaker 15: it's something we do need to get on top of, definitely,
- 46:18Speaker 15: because it's going to get you in trouble.
- 46:19Speaker 2: Yeah, give them a call of dad. They will set
- 46:20Speaker 2: up an appointment and get your dog, right, and that'll
- 46:23Speaker 2: be very good for you. Roddy's are scary and you
- 46:26Speaker 2: definitely don't want to have one of the situations out
- 46:27Speaker 2: there where your dog attacks somebody with pre knowledge that
- 46:30Speaker 2: there's a possibility that.
- 46:31Speaker 8: Could happen and that German.
- 46:33Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, let's get to Steve and Stephen and
- 46:35Speaker 2: how you're doing. Buddy. You're on with Darryl Pain from
- 46:37Speaker 2: PO Affection Dog Training.
- 46:40Speaker 17: What's going on the guys, man, I know, Daryl, I
- 46:43Speaker 17: worked with you a couple of years ago. My dog
- 46:46Speaker 17: is a swinging shadow anyway, she res like like crazy.
- 46:51Speaker 17: She was bad anyway, she'll look my back with my arms.
- 46:56Speaker 17: I just can't stop them from looking. Why did she
- 46:59Speaker 17: do that?
- 46:59Speaker 8: I'm it can be a couple of reasons.
- 47:03Speaker 15: Normally, they're grooming you, looking for attention the whole time,
- 47:06Speaker 15: and she thinks that you need looking after. So she's
- 47:08Speaker 15: grooming you. She's she's washing you, same as.
- 47:11Speaker 8: She would, you know, a puppy. Yeah.
- 47:13Speaker 15: Yeah, Normally with things like this, we need to just
- 47:16Speaker 15: up your game a little bit and put you in
- 47:18Speaker 15: a position where she feels that you're more of a
- 47:21Speaker 15: leader and less of a less of a dependent.
- 47:24Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 47:26Speaker 15: So there'll be certain things that you're Yeah, certain things
- 47:28Speaker 15: that you're doing or not doing, which is giving her
- 47:31Speaker 15: the wrong impression about you. Where she's now, you know,
- 47:33Speaker 15: she's become your mum. Yeah, so, which is cut and sweet.
- 47:38Speaker 18: But if you saw what's in the dog's mouth, you
- 47:40Speaker 18: wouldn't want to look it. Yeah, he said it was
- 47:43Speaker 18: a Cini. Yeah, It'sini and it's got yea. Yeah, that
- 47:50Speaker 18: Trewini became the alpha.
- 47:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 47:51Speaker 8: Yeah, it's become the mother and I mean it's sweet.
- 47:54Speaker 2: It's an ownership thing though, right because my wife, My
- 47:56Speaker 2: dog does this to my wife and I tell her,
- 47:58Speaker 2: I said, Darryl tells me, that's like an ownership thing.
- 48:00Speaker 2: Like she's treating you like one of her puppies. And
- 48:03Speaker 2: she's like, I'll get off there, but that thing will
- 48:05Speaker 2: lick for twenty minutes. It won't stop. I don't know,
- 48:09Speaker 2: does it.
- 48:09Speaker 8: I've said it before on here.
- 48:10Speaker 15: You know what people of my age, and if you're
- 48:12Speaker 15: listening and you're over fifty, you'll remember when you know
- 48:15Speaker 15: you had something on your face as a child and
- 48:17Speaker 15: your mother would spit in a handkerchiefs.
- 48:20Speaker 8: Yeah, that's what that's doing.
- 48:22Speaker 1: All right.
- 48:23Speaker 5: That guy, that guy felt like he had to turn
- 48:25Speaker 5: in his man car. Here's real bummed out, creus.
- 48:28Speaker 2: How you doing your old with Darryl Paine from Perfection
- 48:30Speaker 2: Dog draining?
- 48:32Speaker 3: Hey guys, how's it going?
- 48:33Speaker 2: Hey? Good buddy.
- 48:36Speaker 3: I got a nine year old windows bulldog. She's the
- 48:41Speaker 3: sweetest thing ever gets along with squirrels, rabbits, any size dog.
- 48:47Speaker 3: Her brother passed away in November, and now she's acting
- 48:51Speaker 3: now all right, going through the trash, which she's never
- 48:56Speaker 3: done in the seven years I had her, like showing
- 49:00Speaker 3: up door frames, which she has never done before.
- 49:04Speaker 2: Yeah, it's wild. We've heard of this before, haven't you.
- 49:06Speaker 15: This is this is anxiety. She was obviously with her
- 49:09Speaker 15: brother for a long time. And when you've got a
- 49:12Speaker 15: bonded pair like that, when one does die, it really
- 49:17Speaker 15: does it can it can throw the other one out
- 49:19Speaker 15: quite a lot. And I think that's what's happened, and
- 49:20Speaker 15: she's she's suffering from anxiety as a as a result
- 49:24Speaker 15: of that.
- 49:25Speaker 8: Don't go rushing in to get.
- 49:26Speaker 15: Anxiety meds because one of the side effects of anxiety
- 49:29Speaker 15: meds is actually can cause aggression. Not always, but it can,
- 49:33Speaker 15: so it's one of the side effects. So don't go
- 49:35Speaker 15: rushing to get those.
- 49:37Speaker 2: You need some man rass or lady brownies.
- 49:41Speaker 15: You there's a couple of couple of options for you.
- 49:43Speaker 15: You can either give her more things to do, so,
- 49:46Speaker 15: you know, hide things for her to find and that
- 49:48Speaker 15: kind of stuff. You know, walk her a little more perhaps,
- 49:51Speaker 15: you know, as we said earlier, let us sniff things
- 49:53Speaker 15: like that. I don't know if you're in a mind
- 49:56Speaker 15: to do it, but probably the best thing you could
- 49:59Speaker 15: do is get a younger a younger male dog, and.
- 50:03Speaker 8: That will be a friend for her.
- 50:06Speaker 15: And I know some people don't want to hear that,
- 50:08Speaker 15: but when you've got a problem like this and it's
- 50:12Speaker 15: manifesting itself in the way it is, she's missing a companion,
- 50:17Speaker 15: don't get another female. But if you were to get
- 50:19Speaker 15: a younger male, then you know she gets on with
- 50:21Speaker 15: dogs anyway. You'll find that she would take that on.
- 50:24Speaker 15: You don't have to get a puppy, but just get
- 50:25Speaker 15: a younger rescue and that will bond her again and
- 50:29Speaker 15: you'll find that a lot of these problems will go away.
- 50:31Speaker 2: Ye, thanks appreciate that. Yeah, just get another dog. That's
- 50:33Speaker 2: all you need. Just another dog. Add another mouth of
- 50:36Speaker 2: the house.
- 50:36Speaker 8: She likes squirrels. Get a squirrel?
- 50:39Speaker 2: All right, here is Willie. Willie, how you doing? You're
- 50:41Speaker 2: on with Daryl from Perfection Dog Draining.
- 50:44Speaker 4: Hey guys and one guy, how are y'all doing the day?
- 50:47Speaker 2: Hey Willy, Hello Willy, thanks for acknowledging me.
- 50:49Speaker 4: Hey, I got a dog. He is a layout and
- 50:54Speaker 4: pit bull mixed dog. I got him as a puppy
- 50:57Speaker 4: and from a lady problem I'm having. He he keeps
- 51:02Speaker 4: wanting to mount up on one of the hogs around
- 51:04Speaker 4: the house. Uh, and that's the only problem he does.
- 51:07Speaker 4: And it's only that one hog that he tries the
- 51:09Speaker 4: mounts up on.
- 51:10Speaker 2: But uh, we've all been to that phase.
- 51:17Speaker 4: Well, it was college that I understand.
- 51:20Speaker 15: It's the one that he feels is probably the more
- 51:23Speaker 15: dominant of all the others. And what he's trying to
- 51:26Speaker 15: do is establish himself as the pack leader, if you like.
- 51:31Speaker 15: It is a dominant thing, mounting, humping, all that kind
- 51:34Speaker 15: of stuff, no matter, you know, it's a matter of female.
- 51:38Speaker 4: He's the only dog I've got is he's trying to
- 51:41Speaker 4: get up on one of the hogs.
- 51:42Speaker 8: At the house.
- 51:42Speaker 15: It's still an animal, though, so you know what he's doing.
- 51:45Speaker 15: His sensing that that hog is is more dominant than
- 51:49Speaker 15: all the others. So he's like, Okay, look, you know
- 51:52Speaker 15: he's gonna hunt that thing in the submission is you know?
- 51:54Speaker 8: And they will.
- 51:56Speaker 4: Now, Lady, I got him from with a big old
- 51:58Speaker 4: girl and he used to do this amt thing on
- 52:00Speaker 4: her league. So I didn't know if it was a
- 52:02Speaker 4: resemblance of the old her.
- 52:03Speaker 8: What I don't know. I got him mighty, it's it's
- 52:11Speaker 8: old dominant.
- 52:13Speaker 2: What do you suggest, Daryl, what do you suggest that
- 52:14Speaker 2: will he does from the dog that hunts old ladies
- 52:17Speaker 2: and hogs? And yah, what you.
- 52:19Speaker 15: Gotta be careful of is that this the hog doesn't
- 52:22Speaker 15: turn turn on the dog because they can be really.
- 52:25Speaker 4: What you can do that one right there? Let didn't
- 52:29Speaker 4: do it there. I don't show him off over and
- 52:31Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 52:32Speaker 8: I don't want some weird babies on the right when
- 52:39Speaker 8: you get your.
- 52:41Speaker 2: Puppies, all right, one quick one here, one quick one
- 52:43Speaker 2: a TM quick quickly.
- 52:46Speaker 19: Yes, I got three German shepherds. By the way, I'm
- 52:48Speaker 19: the Denver Bronco guy in Ross's show on Saturday.
- 52:51Speaker 2: Was my God, I'm telling you this show is legendary.
- 52:56Speaker 19: I got I got three German shepherds. One of them
- 52:59Speaker 19: is a puppy you have, you know, I got, I
- 53:00Speaker 19: get a male and the female right, and I couldn't
- 53:03Speaker 19: get rid of this puppy because she was the runt
- 53:05Speaker 19: of the letter and she did everything she could do
- 53:08Speaker 19: not to be sold. And now she's she's seven years
- 53:11Speaker 19: old now and all she does is every time that
- 53:14Speaker 19: you know, you.
- 53:15Speaker 2: Touch her, she's like, I'm telling you, if you guys
- 53:18Speaker 2: were at this show, thanks for card, buddy.
- 53:21Speaker 15: I think I think you need to call us because
- 53:24Speaker 15: it's a weird behavior and I think we do need
- 53:27Speaker 15: to get to the bottom of it. And I don't
- 53:29Speaker 15: think we've got enough time for you to explain exactly
- 53:31Speaker 15: what's going on in your house to no encourage.
- 53:34Speaker 2: I get the feeling the dog is the easy parts.
- 53:36Speaker 2: I get the feeling the dog is the easiest thing
- 53:38Speaker 2: this dude's dealing with. It is house.
- 53:39Speaker 8: Yeah, when you.
- 53:41Speaker 2: Identify yourself as the guy at the comedy club and
- 53:43Speaker 2: you immediately know who is.
- 53:46Speaker 15: Yeah, it's something which obviously she does you need some
- 53:49Speaker 15: help with, because I mean, shepherds are a little bit
- 53:51Speaker 15: like this anyway. But we need to work out the
- 53:55Speaker 15: where this screaming is coming from and why so we
- 53:57Speaker 15: can deal with it. I think if we stay on
- 54:00Speaker 15: here till seven o'clock, we probably wouldn't get to the
- 54:02Speaker 15: bottle with it.
- 54:03Speaker 2: I don't think so either or behind on time. Wple

- 56:15Speaker 2: It was a special Saturday. I can't wait to learn
- 56:17Speaker 2: about it. We'll talk about that at five o'clock for sure.
- 56:20Speaker 3: All right.
- 56:20Speaker 2: Welcome back to the Jim Colbert Show. Roll Radio one
- 56:22Speaker 2: oh four point one. Hi, I'm Jim. There is deb Hello,
- 56:25Speaker 2: Jack is here as well. It's all true. Every single
- 56:27Speaker 2: Wednesday around this time we invite this gentleman. He writes
- 56:30Speaker 2: with The Orlando Sentinel. You can read his columns Wednesdays,
- 56:33Speaker 2: Thursdays and Sundays. We call him the truth Dragon. You
- 56:36Speaker 2: know him is Scott Maxwell. Good loud for mister Scott Maxwell.
- 56:40Speaker 2: Sweet haye. Hete mesquite skeet. What's up, buddy? How you doing?
- 56:44Speaker 3: You know what?
- 56:44Speaker 21: At first I wasn't sure of the context of that caller,
- 56:47Speaker 21: and then I just who was calling for Ross. I
- 56:49Speaker 21: think that might just be an awesome expression. You rock pineapples, No,
- 56:53Speaker 21: you rock pineapple.
- 56:56Speaker 2: You're gonna be careful with that on cruise ships though,
- 56:59Speaker 2: you tell me, Yeah, people's cruise doors. Look at Jack smiling.
- 57:06Speaker 2: There was no pineapple rule when I went on our show.
- 57:09Speaker 2: Really yeah, yeah, what is that true? Yeah? They started
- 57:13Speaker 2: to tell you can't have a pineapple. Yeah, they started
- 57:15Speaker 2: cracking down on the pineapple. That is crazy, man, nothing
- 57:19Speaker 2: was tasting good. It's time for a new cruise line.
- 57:22Speaker 8: Uh.
- 57:22Speaker 2: Scott Maxwell joins us every single Wednesday around this time,
- 57:25Speaker 2: talk about what he's writing about. What's going on, big dog?
- 57:27Speaker 2: How you doing.
- 57:28Speaker 21: I'm hanging in there. It's good to see. Ross enjoyed
- 57:31Speaker 21: seeing his brother last week at Friends. He looked like
- 57:33Speaker 21: he I saw Matt Palm and the other critics gave
- 57:35Speaker 21: him one of the Page Critics Picks Awards.
- 57:39Speaker 5: That's awesome. Yeah, I saw that show. It was a
- 57:41Speaker 5: very interesting perspective for me, as his show is very
- 57:45Speaker 5: hyper personal. But I talked about the bag tag that
- 57:49Speaker 5: you sent me already on station. One of the coolest
- 57:52Speaker 5: things Scott found something of my dad's crazy. Uh you
- 57:56Speaker 5: know when he in his era something of my dad's
- 57:59Speaker 5: on e So I had to buy it.
- 58:01Speaker 2: By the way, I told that story to my wife
- 58:03Speaker 2: and she had goosebumps. It was wild, Yeah, because how
- 58:05Speaker 2: crazy that is that that still exists for people don't know.
- 58:08Speaker 2: It was a it's a bag tag when back in
- 58:10Speaker 2: the day, when you were a pro at a pro shop,
- 58:12Speaker 2: you know, for a club, the bag tags that the
- 58:15Speaker 2: club would give out when people would join would say,
- 58:17Speaker 2: you know the name of the club, this son was Harbortown.
- 58:19Speaker 2: It would usually say the city where it's from when
- 58:21Speaker 2: it was established, but underneath that it would say you
- 58:24Speaker 2: know who the pro was in the pro shop. And
- 58:26Speaker 2: Ross's dad was the very first pro at at Harbortown
- 58:30Speaker 2: and it had his dad's name. Yeah, that was back and.
- 58:34Speaker 21: I wouldn't have known it except that Chase had mentioned
- 58:37Speaker 21: he was in South Carolina for a stint. So I
- 58:40Speaker 21: picked up on that. But that that's not like you know,
- 58:43Speaker 21: Buyenna Vista or this is a Davis Love made his
- 58:47Speaker 21: name out there a million years anyway, this, Yeah, I
- 58:51Speaker 21: was interested, and there wasn't a ton about your dad
- 58:54Speaker 21: on online, but I did see he had the first
- 58:57Speaker 21: Arnold Palmer scholarship at Wake Forest and and I were
- 59:00Speaker 21: in Wake Winston Salem for four years, so I was
- 59:02Speaker 21: kind of interested in that.
- 59:03Speaker 2: And then you're just screening, scrolling down, and I saw that.
- 59:06Speaker 2: I thought, well, Ross needs this.
- 59:07Speaker 5: I already you know, one quick thing when I've done
- 59:10Speaker 5: internet research about my dad, because it's very myth like
- 59:13Speaker 5: to me. But there's one list wake Forest and it
- 59:17Speaker 5: says all the golfers in all of the history for
- 59:20Speaker 5: wake Forest, and it's in alphabetical order. So it right there,
- 59:24Speaker 5: says Roger Paget, right above Arnold Palmer as they go
- 59:29Speaker 5: alphabetical correct, you know, and then that's all still gives
- 59:34Speaker 5: me a smile.
- 59:35Speaker 21: Yeah, absolutely, Well, I thought it was a touching show
- 59:37Speaker 21: and we knew it was going to be a solid
- 59:39Speaker 21: one and.
- 59:39Speaker 2: It was, well, very nice, buddy. What'd you write about
- 59:42Speaker 2: this week?
- 59:43Speaker 7: Well?
- 59:43Speaker 21: I just posted, uh something, I'm trying to remember.
- 59:48Speaker 2: What did I write?
- 59:49Speaker 7: Oh?
- 59:49Speaker 2: Well, I wrote about our CFO.
- 59:51Speaker 21: I don't know if it's even worth spending a lot
- 59:54Speaker 21: of time on, but our story. Our reporter at a Tallahassee,
- 59:57Speaker 21: Jeff Swears, last week wrote the that discovered that he's
- 1:00:01Speaker 21: been taking these trips.
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: You know, he's traveling the whole state.
- 1:00:05Speaker 21: He just goes from one city to another and claims
- 1:00:07Speaker 21: to have done an audit. And for your listeners who
- 1:00:09Speaker 21: can't see my fingers, I'm putting quick air quotes over
- 1:00:13Speaker 21: that because his audits, he's an auditor in the same
- 1:00:15Speaker 21: way that Homer Simpson is a pastry chef. I mean,
- 1:00:19Speaker 21: he basically just goes into every town and says, I've
- 1:00:22Speaker 21: found four point two million dollars in overspending, and they
- 1:00:25Speaker 21: go where and he's like, trust me, just trust me.
- 1:00:28Speaker 21: But apparently while he's been going around the town, he's
- 1:00:31Speaker 21: been taking in some professional sporting events, getting seeing the
- 1:00:34Speaker 21: Daytona five hundred, late Tampa Bay Lightning, the Miami Dolphins games,
- 1:00:40Speaker 21: and taxpayers have been paying for his transportation to these
- 1:00:44Speaker 21: things while he's going around the state accusing other local officials.
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: Of spending too much money. Yeah, sought.
- 1:00:53Speaker 21: I don't think anybody's taken him seriously anymore. I think
- 1:00:56Speaker 21: in the headline I just sort of called him the
- 1:00:58Speaker 21: clown show CFO.
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: I think that's what he is by now. But that
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: was interesting.
- 1:01:02Speaker 21: And then another thing that you may have noticed if
- 1:01:05Speaker 21: you caught this in the news, and I'm sure dev did.
- 1:01:07Speaker 21: They definitely dumped it on Memorial Day weekend. On Friday
- 1:01:11Speaker 21: before Memorial Day weekend, the state settled with one of
- 1:01:15Speaker 21: those employees that it had fired for the Charlie Kirk post.
- 1:01:21Speaker 21: And I don't know if this was a state biologist
- 1:01:23Speaker 21: and what she done. I mean, it's also even describing Twitter.
- 1:01:27Speaker 21: It sounds insane, right. She had reposted a meme from
- 1:01:33Speaker 21: an account that was supposedly a whale, and the whale
- 1:01:37Speaker 21: was snarky and said, basically, I don't care any more
- 1:01:40Speaker 21: about Charlie Kirk's death than Charlie Kirk cared about anybody
- 1:01:43Speaker 21: else's death, right, So it's a whale.
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: It's stupid. Am I posting it?
- 1:01:47Speaker 7: No?
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: Are you posting it? Probably no.
- 1:01:49Speaker 21: Do we fire people for something they do on their
- 1:01:52Speaker 21: private time?
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: Probably not.
- 1:01:55Speaker 21: She filed a lawsuit and the state had to pay
- 1:01:58Speaker 21: half a million dollars, which ain't nothing.
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: Ain't nothing.
- 1:02:02Speaker 21: And if you I went back and actually read the
- 1:02:04Speaker 21: lawsuit and the claim and the most the scariest part
- 1:02:08Speaker 21: about this isn't even that the state was doing thought
- 1:02:10Speaker 21: police speech silencing, which is clearly what they were doing here.
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: It's that they were lying about it. That's why the
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: state had to settle.
- 1:02:19Speaker 21: The judge said, you just made up all sorts of things,
- 1:02:22Speaker 21: like at one point in time, they said, why did
- 1:02:24Speaker 21: you fire her? And she said, because after she posted it,
- 1:02:26Speaker 21: we got hundreds of objections from citizens. And the judge said,
- 1:02:30Speaker 21: all right, well let me see the hundreds of objections.
- 1:02:32Speaker 21: And they're like, well, we don't actually have those, and
- 1:02:35Speaker 21: they said, no, you said you got emails.
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: It's public record.
- 1:02:38Speaker 21: Anything that comes in unless you've illegally destroyed it should
- 1:02:40Speaker 21: be a public record. Turn it over, and like, well, okay,
- 1:02:43Speaker 21: so we didn't actually have hundreds of objections.
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: The judges should have sanctioned yea. They should have stayed.
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: They should have they said.
- 1:02:48Speaker 21: Said, first of all, you've been lying about this woman.
- 1:02:51Speaker 21: Then the judge sanctioned the lawyers, who, by the way,
- 1:02:53Speaker 21: they're paying four hundred to nine hundred dollars an hour
- 1:02:56Speaker 21: because they said, you knew you were bringing a BS case.
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: They they called that.
- 1:03:00Speaker 21: They had a term that basically said you're trying to
- 1:03:02Speaker 21: ruin somebody's life and make it uh and bring the
- 1:03:05Speaker 21: big power of legal government where they can't fight back.
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: Yeah, most malicious malicious prosecution. The same the same guy,
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: by the way, the same guy. The other guy got
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: like eight hundred k or another. This is the second
- 1:03:15Speaker 2: that's right. We first won. We called this, by the way,
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: we called this on the show. We said, when all
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: this stuff was happening, like these people are gonna get paid.
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: You can revel in your in your shirt, your short
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: term win that Charlie Kirk thing. I mean, you can
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: high five yourself across all parking lots. But I'm telling
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: you straight up, every one of these people is gonna
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: win their case, and every one of them is gonna
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: get paid.
- 1:03:36Speaker 21: And this is the beginning and more will get paid.
- 1:03:40Speaker 21: And you're you're exactly right. And for those who don't
- 1:03:42Speaker 21: know it, you and I have said it before. The
- 1:03:43Speaker 21: First Amendment, the free speech does not exist to protect
- 1:03:47Speaker 21: speech that everybody likes. It exists that protection to perspective,
- 1:03:51Speaker 21: to protect speech that's unpopular.
- 1:03:53Speaker 8: Uh.
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: That's that's why we have this guarantee.
- 1:03:55Speaker 15: Uh.
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: And and it's the same reason.
- 1:03:57Speaker 21: When students wanted to have some Nazis come on to
- 1:04:00Speaker 21: the campus at UF, I said, bring them on, you
- 1:04:02Speaker 21: know what, let them speak. The way to argue them
- 1:04:05Speaker 21: down is in the court of public opinion not to
- 1:04:07Speaker 21: try to silence them and turn them into a martyr.
- 1:04:10Speaker 21: And so to go back to this, the judge actually
- 1:04:12Speaker 21: issued sanctions, laid down, did a sanction order on both
- 1:04:15Speaker 21: the state and the law firm, and said now we're
- 1:04:18Speaker 21: going to have a hearing on basically the lying that
- 1:04:20Speaker 21: you've been done. And then right after the judge did that,
- 1:04:23Speaker 21: they said, Okay, how about if we cough up a
- 1:04:25Speaker 21: half a million dollars and in this thing right now.
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: Well settle, because I mean, you're going to be talking
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: about prosecution there where you're lying to a judge your life.
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: It's perjury. Well I don't know if it is or not,
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: but I mean you're lying to a judge in court
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: for a case that you brought.
- 1:04:40Speaker 21: Yes, that's absolutely right. And the judge did bring up
- 1:04:42Speaker 21: the concept of perjury. And if you go back and
- 1:04:44Speaker 21: read as I did the settlement agreement, a lot of
- 1:04:48Speaker 21: the settlement agreement it looks like it's about protecting the
- 1:04:51Speaker 21: law firm. It's like, okay, by giving her half a
- 1:04:55Speaker 21: million dollars, she agrees not to be a character witness.
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: And the sanction order against us.
- 1:05:00Speaker 21: Why why should we as taxpayers spend half a million
- 1:05:04Speaker 21: dollars to protect the law from the judge said, lie
- 1:05:07Speaker 21: from getting sanctioned.
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: Yeah, I remember, I don't know if it was this
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: particular I can't remember this was this particular case. But
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: there's a federal judge that went off and said that
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: there was forty five thousand misconstrewed lies or facts in
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: one of these cases they brought against somebody, Like, it's
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: just blatant. We're making it up to keep certain people happy,
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: and that's it. We're just we're just bringing charges, we're
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: just getting indictments. That's all that matters. It doesn't matter
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: what happens after the fact. You were right that we
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: all knew this wasn't going to stand up. But the
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: amount of money being spent on this is atrocious.
- 1:05:41Speaker 21: That nine hundred and twenty five dollars an hour that
- 1:05:43Speaker 21: is specifically for Charlie kirk Posts I think it was
- 1:05:46Speaker 21: Florida Atlantic University.
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: Hired a former Supreme Court justice.
- 1:05:51Speaker 21: They're paying Alan lost In from Orlando nine hundred and
- 1:05:54Speaker 21: twenty five dollars an hour to vet whether they, you know,
- 1:05:57Speaker 21: properly went after professors who didn't like Charlie Kirk.
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: Unbelievable man.
- 1:06:03Speaker 21: And by the way, if you want to, I'm not
- 1:06:06Speaker 21: a big Charlie Kirk fan, but if you wanna still,
- 1:06:08Speaker 21: you know, sort of tout what virtues he did have.
- 1:06:11Speaker 21: It was supposedly free speech, it was supposedly the idea
- 1:06:14Speaker 21: of debate, and this is all about silencing it under
- 1:06:17Speaker 21: the power of big government and lawyers.
- 1:06:19Speaker 2: So crazy, man. I read that one case where the
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: lady I think it was just came down a couple
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: of days ago, But the one that happened last week
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: was equally as frivolous. I mean, and again, anybody that
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: lost their job over this Charlie Kirk thing, you're going
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: to get your job back or you're gonna get paid.
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: It's one of the two. Take your pick, because you
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: just can't do that. You can't fire somebody for something
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: they say it's free speech. I guess you can, but
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: you'll get you know, you're gonna get whacked if it's
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: a government job.
- 1:06:44Speaker 7: Right.
- 1:06:45Speaker 21: What what you can do is you can't say something
- 1:06:47Speaker 21: that's threatening. Right, Yeah it's actually threatening physical violence or
- 1:06:51Speaker 21: something like that. But you're allowed to have a different
- 1:06:53Speaker 21: opinion in most states anyway.
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: Yeah, how's your bourbon collection. I'm looking at back there.
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: I think there's a bottle missing. No, oh, I haven't
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: changed anything.
- 1:07:01Speaker 21: We're just I'm waiting to relocate back to the office
- 1:07:03Speaker 21: where my son goes out. But I did want to
- 1:07:06Speaker 21: mention that I am doing an interview to mar that
- 1:07:09Speaker 21: I thought Ross would appreciate. Yes, this is every year
- 1:07:12Speaker 21: I do the Mental Health Association of Central Florida, a
- 1:07:14Speaker 21: really great group. They provide free mental health services.
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: This is the thing you did last year with iced
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: Tea correct when iced Tea out absolutely nowhere, started asking
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: about my sex life and my wife was in the
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: front row and decided not to come back this year anyway.
- 1:07:29Speaker 21: Yes, Henry Winkler. The year before that, I think Ashley Judd.
- 1:07:33Speaker 21: And this year it's tig nataro oh wow. Cool and
- 1:07:38Speaker 21: and one of the things that I did to prep
- 1:07:40Speaker 21: it's basically I do like a thirty minute interview in
- 1:07:42Speaker 21: front of like five hundred people, so to prep for
- 1:07:45Speaker 21: tig Ross. I don't know if you've seen this. There's
- 1:07:47Speaker 21: a documentary called group Therapy.
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: Have you seen this? I believe I have. I've seen
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: a lot of.
- 1:07:53Speaker 21: Tids to medians sitting with Neil Patrick Harris. There's no
- 1:07:56Speaker 21: real explanation for why it's Neil Patrick Harris, but they're
- 1:08:00Speaker 21: all talking about their struggles with mental health, and damn.
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: It's dark for some of these folks. Seems to be a.
- 1:08:07Speaker 21: Real nexus between stand up comedy and mental health.
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: Well, Ross actually just did a bit like this for Fringe,
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: right you and Ken and who is the other comedy Yeah,
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: Joe Warren, Joel. Yeah, the comedy show is called psych.
- 1:08:19Speaker 5: I did a ten minute set of stand up comedy
- 1:08:22Speaker 5: and then you do a ten minute set of therapy
- 1:08:24Speaker 5: right there in front of an audience. And let's just
- 1:08:29Speaker 5: say it's still hard for the comedians to turn off
- 1:08:32Speaker 5: the jokes during the therapy, which is also part of
- 1:08:35Speaker 5: the diagnosis.
- 1:08:38Speaker 21: It seems like there's a level of some of its
- 1:08:43Speaker 21: therapeutic for these comedians to get in front of other people,
- 1:08:45Speaker 21: and some of it's sort of Massachisca Sato massacre, like
- 1:08:49Speaker 21: they they are almost are craving some of this rejection.
- 1:08:53Speaker 21: And the thing that one of the things in this
- 1:08:54Speaker 21: documentary that stuck out was a comedian I wasn't that
- 1:08:57Speaker 21: familiar with you all may know him. I'd mentioned to
- 1:09:00Speaker 21: Jim some of these folks you know probably known. Nicole
- 1:09:02Speaker 21: Byer was one of them. But this guy, Gary.
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: Goleman, Yeah, one of the smartest and greatest, most underrated
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: comedians in scott If you if you've never heard of Gary,
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: I already know you enough to say that's your new
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: favorite comedian.
- 1:09:16Speaker 21: And I went and I looked up some of his
- 1:09:18Speaker 21: stuff and it's great. But through the course of this
- 1:09:21Speaker 21: documentary he's talking about like how I sometimes still want
- 1:09:25Speaker 21: to kill myself, like not twenty years ago, Like my
- 1:09:29Speaker 21: wife had to peel me off the sofa a couple.
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: Of months ago and make me leave the house.
- 1:09:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:09:34Speaker 5: Wow, he's got some of the best bits when it
- 1:09:37Speaker 5: comes to he's the state up comedian. His most famous
- 1:09:40Speaker 5: bit is the two letter to acronym for states.
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. By the way, he's also
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: real prevalent on TikTok and Instagram. You see a lot
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: of his clips online as well. Yeah, so, anyway, I'll
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: be doing that more. If anybody's a big tig Nataro fan.
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: There're still tickets for the Mental Health Association. And by
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: the way, she shows up everywhere. I don't know if
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: you saw like she was she was one of the
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: final celebrities in Stephen Colbert's uh send off, and then
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: you're just watching something like what was it Zack Snyder's
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: Army of the Dead and she's the chopper pilot. Yeah,
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: that the zombie movie. So I told you, tell me
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: if this is right, Ross. I told Scott today when
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: we were talking about the interview today that Tig is
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: kind of a comics comic.
- 1:10:21Speaker 5: Uh yes, but also there's just a flavor. It's a
- 1:10:25Speaker 5: low fi uh still high brow taste of oolong to me.
- 1:10:31Speaker 5: I wouldn't even say comics comic because there's she has
- 1:10:34Speaker 5: found her audience, but it's not It's not for everyone.
- 1:10:38Speaker 5: And guess what good stuff is not for everyone. That's
- 1:10:41Speaker 5: kind of why I say that, because it reminds she reminds.
- 1:10:43Speaker 5: She reminds me a little bit of what's the guy
- 1:10:46Speaker 5: that used to talk real weird Stephen?
- 1:10:48Speaker 3: Right?
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: No, uh whoo, older guy's dead now? But hey, dad,
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: that thing like that, Yeah, because Gilbert Godfrey's act was
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: kind of odd to watch, but behind the scenes, every
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: comic love seeing it. John Lovett is one of those guys.
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: And I thought Tig was like that because she never
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: sold out to make herself any bigger. She stayed true
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: to her audience, but painfully funny everywhere she goes.
- 1:11:15Speaker 21: And I think one of the things you might be
- 1:11:16Speaker 21: remembering Jim and Ross, I totally see what you're saying.
- 1:11:20Speaker 21: She's very dry and sometimes she draws it out really long,
- 1:11:23Speaker 21: like maybe even too long. But she did a set
- 1:11:26Speaker 21: that is like now infamous or famous from right after
- 1:11:29Speaker 21: she got diagnosed with cancer, and I think her father
- 1:11:32Speaker 21: died and all this stuff, and she just went on
- 1:11:34Speaker 21: stage and the stage and laid it all bare. And
- 1:11:37Speaker 21: everybody like Bill Burr, who I wouldn't really see is
- 1:11:40Speaker 21: he's not really a tig Nataro styled comic, right, Best
- 1:11:44Speaker 21: was like there and Best said he ever saw.
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: Yeah, wow. Crazy.
- 1:11:47Speaker 5: She also has an animated special which I really enjoyed.
- 1:11:50Speaker 5: She grabbed one of her stand upsets and made it
- 1:11:52Speaker 5: an entire cartoon with and it just works.
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: It just works really really well. She does an interview
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: with Anthony Jesslink on one of his podcast type show
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: Things that are Very It's very good as well, so
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: check that out well.
- 1:12:04Speaker 21: Scott also had a podcast for a long time with
- 1:12:08Speaker 21: Eryl Hines, where the two of them were best friends
- 1:12:11Speaker 21: and sort of what happened drifted apart as the last
- 1:12:16Speaker 21: election cycle went through.
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: Are you guys giving up a good line for Scott Maxwell?
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: There Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays right there in the pages
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: of the Orlando Sentinel. Good always good to see a
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: big dog, all right, take care of guys, Get man
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: all right for seven nine six four one text seven
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: seven zero three one back in a second.
- 1:12:34Speaker 22: What's up, guys. So when I used to do more
- 1:12:36Speaker 22: handyman work that had a guy called me and said
- 1:12:39Speaker 22: his exhaust fan wasn't working in his bathroom at the
- 1:12:41Speaker 22: rental property. So I went over there and pulled the
- 1:12:44Speaker 22: cover off of the exhaust fan and there was a
- 1:12:46Speaker 22: camera pointed straight down at the toilet, so I didn't
- 1:12:50Speaker 22: touch anything. I called it there and said, yo, you
- 1:12:51Speaker 22: need to handle this. But also one of my favorite
- 1:12:54Speaker 22: memories from the mid nineties was eating a handful of
- 1:12:57Speaker 22: mushrooms and going to a Pink Floyd laser show at
- 1:13:00Speaker 22: the local planetarium. Ten out of ten would recommend, Yeah.
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: That was like the thing in Orlando for the longest time,
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: right what they call that? There was a name for
- 1:13:12Speaker 2: it when they did it in Jerseys or New York
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: as well at the Hayden Planetarium. Yeah, they did it
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: here for years, and they used to call it something
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: because I remember all the burnout side. Wasn't it laser Floyd? No,
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: it wasn't that. It was something else, And somebody will
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: know out there in the Texan Service seven seven zero
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: three one. But they had a specific name for it.
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: And every burnout I knew as a kid would go
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: up there on you know, Friday or Saturday night or
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: whatever it was like eleven o'clock and they would go
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: up there and they would sit in their chairs and
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: they would play Dark Side of the Moon, I guess
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: while they were projecting something on the on the planetarium,
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: on the on the ceiling and just trip out. I
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: got a medical question for you. Sure, how do you treat? Oh? No, man,
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: this is not good? Nice jack? Wow, Hell yeah, I
- 1:14:01Speaker 2: got I have to. I have to figure out a
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: way around this because typically I've I've tried one certain thing,
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: but it keeps coming back and I'm tired of it.
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: It's a pain right down my leg asiatic nerve. Oh
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: you have a siatica Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's keeping me
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: up at night. It's awful. And like I was good
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: all day and then right now it's just shooting right
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: down to my from my hip to my foot and
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: it doesn't stop. And it feels like if you if
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: you've never dealt with sciatica, I mean, you're lucky that
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: it actually goes from the hip down. I've had it
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: go for my shoulder blade all the way down. But
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: it feels like a wire running down your leg that's
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: on fire. That's what it feels like. You you're those
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: wires and those electrical space heaters. It feels like one
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: of those running on the back of your leg. And
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: it's impossible to get comfortable. Like I always found when
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: I had it, I had to keep that leg straight.
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: So when I sat in the chair, I would sit
- 1:14:51Speaker 2: lean way back so I could keep my left leg
- 1:14:53Speaker 2: perfectly straight. It's the only time I can get relief.
- 1:14:57Speaker 2: Here's how I did it, because I think Jim used
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: to to have issues as well, and I was telling this,
- 1:15:01Speaker 2: this is what I know that worked. Do you have
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: a hard floor in your home? Yeah, okay, right, no, no,
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: this is true. Right, So what you do is you
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: get either a chair or something and you lay flat
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: on your back, bring your knees up to ninety degrees, okay,
- 1:15:16Speaker 2: and then your legs the other ninety degrees right, yes, yeah,
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: and then that put your legs on that chair so
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: that basically what you're doing is and put your asses close.
- 1:15:27Speaker 2: So I do it with a couch and put your
- 1:15:29Speaker 2: asses close to the couch as possible so that your
- 1:15:31Speaker 2: back sits is dead flat on the hardest surface in
- 1:15:36Speaker 2: your house. And then lay there for two hours at
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: a time. Oh my goodness. And what happens is after
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: a while gravity, This is what I've been told. Gravity
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: allows your spine to settle so that that siatic nerve
- 1:15:49Speaker 2: doesn't have as much pressure on it. And it did
- 1:15:51Speaker 2: work one or two times at work. Then it stopped
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: working and I went and got acupuncture. So I I
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: used chiropractic in the past. Yeah, and I'd get an
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: adjustment a couple of days later, I'd be fine, But
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: you know, it ends up, it just comes back. I
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: was wondering, is there a more permanent solution. And I'm
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: telling you the acupuncture work for me like crazy. But
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: I know a lot of people don't believe that. I
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: didn't believe it. I didn't believe in it, and still yeah,
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: anything that's been working for thousands and thousands of years.
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: How would they get suspect as well? Well, I gotta
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: tell you just but it was. It just seems so kooky, right,
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: It just seems like it doesn't really match with what
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: we know as modern medicine. So I just kind of
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: p shot it, right, Yeah, and then I got it done.
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: And I've not had one bit of sciatic issue since
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: that day. And that was twenty five years ago. Oh my,
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: did it feel it was twenty five years ago?
- 1:16:40Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: No, it did not feel good getting the little needles in.
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: But it's not like you think, though you can't really
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: feel the needle. You feel it a little bit, but
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: they leave them in there for like half an hour
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: or so, maybe not even that much, and they pull
- 1:16:52Speaker 2: them out and.
- 1:16:52Speaker 17: You go on.
- 1:16:52Speaker 2: You don't You don't like there's no immediate It's not
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: like taking a pill, right, You don't get any immediate
- 1:16:57Speaker 2: reaction to it, or even a twenty minute delayed action,
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: like you what if you took a pain pill? But man,
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: I'm telling you, over the next three days my life
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: changed dramatically and I've never dealt with it again. Have
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: you acupunctured you.
- 1:17:09Speaker 6: Oh yeah, that's why I was gonna ask Jack, even
- 1:17:12Speaker 6: though you've done chiropractic, maybe you should just straight up
- 1:17:15Speaker 6: try acupunctured. They're also saying as steroid an epidural shot.
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: And they do the cupping thing with it as well.
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: By the way, so they did the cupping first and
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: then they did uh, and then they did the acupuncture.
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: What are you laughing at?
- 1:17:27Speaker 5: I just I love this. I love all this self
- 1:17:30Speaker 5: care that all of a sudden you fell into. I
- 1:17:32Speaker 5: can't imagine. You don't look like a cupper acupuncture kind
- 1:17:35Speaker 5: of guy.
- 1:17:35Speaker 2: You know what a cup is?
- 1:17:36Speaker 3: You know?
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: Yeah, you take that. It's a giant hickey. Yeah. They
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: put the lighter into the little cup and then they
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: put it on your skin and it sucks your skin up,
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: and I guess it's supposed to draw blood to that
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: area or something. I don't know. A lot of people, well, yeah,
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: a lot of the advice that I was avoiding. They're
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: like stretching, stretching, yoga, strengthen your core. They kind of
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: deal with that. It doesn't have anything to do with that.
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: Your psiatic nerve is under pressure because either your spine
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: is pressuring it or you've injured it by bending and
- 1:18:03Speaker 2: your spine is sticking out. You could have to I'm
- 1:18:06Speaker 2: telling you that's what it is. And by the way,
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: it doesn't take like everybody believes that you have to
- 1:18:09Speaker 2: be doing something really strenuous. My worst episode of it
- 1:18:13Speaker 2: hit me when I was just simply getting out of bed.
- 1:18:15Speaker 2: When I threw my leg over to get my weight
- 1:18:18Speaker 2: to sit up. It hit me and I dropped to
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: the ground like somebody shot me. Yeah. I'll never forget it, dude.
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: It was unbelievable. Paint Jack.
- 1:18:26Speaker 5: You gotta try it on this next break. Try it,
- 1:18:28Speaker 5: give it a go. Put you go flat back and
- 1:18:37Speaker 5: MRSA this this is fine. We have the greatest you know,
- 1:18:41Speaker 5: clean up crew of all time.
- 1:18:43Speaker 2: Yeah, no question there. Yeah that's true. Yeah, but I'm
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: telling you super flat surface. This is your booty. If
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: you're looking at my hands, yeah, push this as much
- 1:18:50Speaker 2: up against the couch, put your legs like that and
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: lay there for as long as you possibly can. When
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: I did those two sessions, I was there for six hours.
- 1:18:58Speaker 2: So what you do is you But I'm serious, dude.
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: You you have no idea about the pain though. Man,
- 1:19:03Speaker 2: you don't know it. Rules your life.
- 1:19:05Speaker 5: I'm laughing just because you said six hours. I can
- 1:19:08Speaker 5: only assume that the pain is bad if you're doing
- 1:19:11Speaker 5: anything for six hours.
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: So what I did is I I was on my
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: phone for a little bit. Then I actually slept a
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: little bit of that and then watched some TV and
- 1:19:18Speaker 2: it actually went by pretty easily, and real football season,
- 1:19:20Speaker 2: so I watched like a football game and it was done.
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: But I'm telling you, man that that flat back pressure
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: was the only thing outside of medical attention I found
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: that helped, all right, And it's terrible. It hurts so bad.
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: I'll go that's a good at home thing that I
- 1:19:36Speaker 2: can do. I think stretching probably is. I think that's
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: a good thing we should all be doing anyway, No question,
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: you want to be you know, mobile when you're you know,
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: in your later years. But uh, you know a lot.
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: I mean, so many people, well, hey, anti inflammatory because yeah,
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: the nervous coming through and that's the pinch. So I
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: just took a couple of ibuprofen. But no, leave, take
- 1:19:58Speaker 2: a leave. Not ibuprofen is no, it's not, it's not.
- 1:20:03Speaker 6: It's a different it's a completely different thing altogether.
- 1:20:05Speaker 2: Buddy.
- 1:20:05Speaker 6: The only problem with a leave is that if it
- 1:20:07Speaker 6: doesn't work, then you can't take anything else for twenty
- 1:20:09Speaker 6: four hours. Y yeah, yeah, so it's neprox and sodium, right,
- 1:20:12Speaker 6: it's not ibuprofen. I would stick with advil if you
- 1:20:15Speaker 6: want to be able to get relief through the hours.
- 1:20:17Speaker 2: She took the words right out of my mouth.
- 1:20:19Speaker 8: I just want to sleep through them.
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: And by the way, Adville, I believe maybe the the
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: all time, everyday winter pain reliever.
- 1:20:26Speaker 6: Unless anybody have any of those six to eight hundred
- 1:20:29Speaker 6: milligram ibuprofens that you usually get like after dental surgery,
- 1:20:33Speaker 6: Oh yeah, yeah, those are the best.
- 1:20:35Speaker 3: I got it.
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: I allegedly got. My daughter allegedly had a bottle of
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: those left over after her after a surgery for a
- 1:20:41Speaker 2: laborum tear. And I'm telling you those things are a
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: bombed in they are.
- 1:20:45Speaker 6: Yeah, they are sooever it's just six hundred milligrams of ibuprofen,
- 1:20:50Speaker 6: but it will be the best thing for the swelling.
- 1:20:52Speaker 2: Your joint of pain. Your joints will never feel as good.
- 1:20:54Speaker 2: You will feel like you've lost twenty five years. You
- 1:20:57Speaker 2: can front door those, you can bag a pat you
- 1:20:59Speaker 2: can do any of them. Now your liver is gonna
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: stop working for a week a second.
- 1:21:05Speaker 7: I don't know why.
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: I no one said nothing to you about that. Gaba
- 1:21:09Speaker 2: Pitton is for that.
- 1:21:12Speaker 3: Anyhow, have a blass day later, guys.
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: Thanks buddy, appreciate that.
- 1:21:16Speaker 23: Jack for your psiatic nerve. Stand perfectly straight against the wall.
- 1:21:21Speaker 23: You're back to the wall. Slowly walk out until you
- 1:21:25Speaker 23: hit the floor at a ninety degree angle. Do it
- 1:21:29Speaker 23: very slow. I promise it works. I've done it once
- 1:21:33Speaker 23: a year and I no longer have any problems.
- 1:21:38Speaker 7: Good luck.
- 1:21:41Speaker 2: What's going on COVID and Company is kind of creeking,
- 1:21:44Speaker 2: mic I don't know much.
- 1:21:45Speaker 9: About coping, but I know about spooning.
- 1:21:55Speaker 2: Always wise words, sir, always wise word.
- 1:21:57Speaker 7: Mike.
- 1:21:57Speaker 2: Thanks, thanks for all the yeah, yeah, yeah, Well Michael
- 1:22:00Speaker 2: to Jim cover show role Ready one O four point one.
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: I'm Jim, there's dead Hello and Ross. It's all true, man.
- 1:22:05Speaker 2: We got a ton of stuff on the Texan service.
- 1:22:07Speaker 2: Just see that. Yeah, it's philed. Nobody mentioned that drug though.
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: That's kind of wild. And by the way, what he
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: just said is basically what I'm telling you. Why keep
- 1:22:13Speaker 2: your flat back, your back flat against the surface, and yeah,
- 1:22:16Speaker 2: applied pressure. I wish you the best, man, because it's terrible.
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: I need to stretch and I've been taking like anti infinement,
- 1:22:24Speaker 2: so they said, yeah, leave, it's better for inflammatory inflammation, right, Yeah,
- 1:22:29Speaker 2: like when when I have issues, like when I my
- 1:22:31Speaker 2: arthritis kind of starts flaring up or whatever, I'll take. Uh,
- 1:22:34Speaker 2: I'll take nepproxim or a leave now, Gaba Patton. I
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: believe I have some leftover from when I had to
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: give it to my dog many years ago. It's in
- 1:22:43Speaker 2: a little blue bottle. Are you serious? That's good for
- 1:22:45Speaker 2: that's good for you. Yeah, sure, it's fine. Yeah, this
- 1:22:48Speaker 2: is a little research. I don't believe any of that
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: stuff expires. Matter of fact, i'd be proferate. I'm taking
- 1:22:52Speaker 2: expired in twenty twenty two, did you really?
- 1:22:54Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 1:22:55Speaker 2: I took. I took some when I had my congestion issues.
- 1:22:57Speaker 2: I took some stuff that's been around for a couple
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: of years too, that was out of it was an antibiotic,
- 1:23:02Speaker 2: and let me say it works just fine. Those dates
- 1:23:06Speaker 2: are for babies.
- 1:23:07Speaker 5: That's for you. It called me a baby, dude. I
- 1:23:09Speaker 5: will trust the expired label on a drug.
- 1:23:12Speaker 2: Are you serious? Yeah, dude, we've had. We have stuff
- 1:23:15Speaker 2: in our house we've that are three years expired. I'll
- 1:23:17Speaker 2: use tomorrow, big farm. They just want to sell you
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: more drugs. That's right, buddy, it's it's not milk. Ohn't no, man,
- 1:23:25Speaker 2: I don't trust that. I'm also getting a lot of
- 1:23:27Speaker 2: top acts about Ross's Pineapple Yeah experience that we're about
- 1:23:30Speaker 2: to talk about right now. Actually, so look, I heard
- 1:23:33Speaker 2: the word that it got crazy, that go online. I'm like,
- 1:23:36Speaker 2: let's see what people are saying about the show, because
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: I didn't want to call you that late that night.
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: I forgot to call you on Sunday, so I wanted
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: to see how it went. And the first picture when
- 1:23:44Speaker 2: I type in your name is you on stage shirtless?
- 1:23:48Speaker 2: Oh you saw that? Someone posted that, Yeah, that's on
- 1:23:50Speaker 2: that's online right now, and you taking pictures with a
- 1:23:53Speaker 2: bunch of fans. But you were on stage shirtless? What happened?
- 1:23:57Speaker 2: How to go? Why are people freaking out about your
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: show last Saturday night? It went good? Nay? Dare I
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: say it went great? Okay?
- 1:24:07Speaker 5: It was a lot of fun. I've hit a new era.
- 1:24:10Speaker 5: I've had like this weird demon time in my stand
- 1:24:12Speaker 5: up career. Yeah, I don't know there's a new echelon,
- 1:24:16Speaker 5: a new tier of living in the moment and being
- 1:24:19Speaker 5: present and performing live. So what had happened was the
- 1:24:24Speaker 5: reason why I was shirtless. There were supposed to be
- 1:24:26Speaker 5: no cameras, but uh, middle middle of the set. I
- 1:24:31Speaker 5: don't know what happened to someone like the last joke.
- 1:24:34Speaker 5: I'm assuming drunk person gives me cash, gives me a
- 1:24:37Speaker 5: one dollar bill, give you a dollar bill, gives me
- 1:24:39Speaker 5: a dollar bill, gants you for a joke in real time. Right,
- 1:24:42Speaker 5: that's that's gotta be a good sign. But what's the
- 1:24:45Speaker 5: funny thing to do in that moment?
- 1:24:47Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 1:24:47Speaker 2: I can't put it? Yeah, put it in your pants
- 1:24:49Speaker 2: or something like your stripper. I kicked off my left ship. Oh,
- 1:24:56Speaker 2: then what happened?
- 1:24:57Speaker 5: Then more cash happened? And if it was for the
- 1:25:00Speaker 5: stage over at the Moon Room at Pineapple's being so
- 1:25:04Speaker 5: perfectly lit, because someone walks up with the twenty and
- 1:25:08Speaker 5: you can tell.
- 1:25:09Speaker 2: It in Denver Broncos Jersey.
- 1:25:11Speaker 5: I think I think the Denver's Broncos guy definitely threw
- 1:25:14Speaker 5: down some cash for for what I was thrown down.
- 1:25:17Speaker 2: He texted, he said, he said he gave you a twenty.
- 1:25:19Speaker 5: That Yeah, So everyone seized the twenty dollars bill and
- 1:25:22Speaker 5: at that point, you know, right, shoe, belt.
- 1:25:25Speaker 2: Shirt, Oh yeah, you saw a tone, right, it's coming off.
- 1:25:28Speaker 5: Yeah, but I still have like fifteen minutes left to
- 1:25:32Speaker 5: do to perform contractually. It's not even a contract, but
- 1:25:36Speaker 5: it's the handshake deal.
- 1:25:37Speaker 2: I feel it.
- 1:25:37Speaker 5: Yeah, well fifteen minutes. It's still going very very well.
- 1:25:41Speaker 5: But you know, I don't know. That second neck of
- 1:25:44Speaker 5: that second beer did something to me. Yeah, and I said,
- 1:25:48Speaker 5: my name is Ross, and then I dropped troo and
- 1:25:50Speaker 5: I took off my pants. You took off your pants.
- 1:25:53Speaker 5: I took off my painte took your pants off. And
- 1:25:55Speaker 5: then I got back up and said.
- 1:25:57Speaker 6: By wearing you know, good underwear.
- 1:26:00Speaker 5: No, in fact, in fact, there was I believe dude.
- 1:26:05Speaker 5: I had no rose, I had no shoes, no shirt,
- 1:26:09Speaker 5: no pants, but I'd still got service. And uh but
- 1:26:13Speaker 5: I had a hole in my sock. So you had
- 1:26:16Speaker 5: my tall sexy tall. They got the raw Ross. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:26:20Speaker 5: they saw all of it. They saw what my mom's
- 1:26:22Speaker 5: preference was when I was born. Really yeah, yeah.
- 1:26:25Speaker 2: Wow, really, well are you ty white?
- 1:26:27Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: What are you doing like a box of briefs?
- 1:26:30Speaker 5: I believe it was a hand Haines x X. It
- 1:26:34Speaker 5: was a silky gray pair of underwear.
- 1:26:36Speaker 2: That's nice. And then that's how I walked off the stage.
- 1:26:38Speaker 2: But it was a reveal, like a package reveal. Is
- 1:26:40Speaker 2: that what you're saying?
- 1:26:41Speaker 5: They saw they saw something, really, they saw the muffins,
- 1:26:44Speaker 5: the Miles Maker. Yeah yeah, the Miles Maker and the
- 1:26:48Speaker 5: Olivia Taker. That's what I call the left one. The
- 1:26:56Speaker 5: other one is the Miles Maker. You sure my son
- 1:26:59Speaker 5: came from the right. Yeah, okay, that's fine. Yeah, a
- 1:27:03Speaker 5: good show. How much money you take on stage? I
- 1:27:05Speaker 5: haven't pick at the porner. I take like twenty three
- 1:27:09Speaker 5: bus twenty three dollars for all of your clothes. Yeah,
- 1:27:13Speaker 5: and a comedy. There's also someone was a twenty one
- 1:27:17Speaker 5: of those was a twenty four people gave you money.
- 1:27:19Speaker 5: There's loose change. I believe involved. At some point those
- 1:27:23Speaker 5: were thrown, but that was what evs.
- 1:27:26Speaker 2: It just got.
- 1:27:26Speaker 5: It was wild live performing. You know, you got to
- 1:27:29Speaker 5: show out to live performance shows because you just don't
- 1:27:33Speaker 5: know what's gonna happen in any crowd.
- 1:27:35Speaker 2: Work because of the crowd, I mean it seems like
- 1:27:37Speaker 2: they're pretty rowty.
- 1:27:38Speaker 7: Uh.
- 1:27:38Speaker 5: One of my favorite jokes that I heard that night
- 1:27:41Speaker 5: was someone my opener walked out and said, Hey, by
- 1:27:45Speaker 5: any chance, is anybody into the Denver Broncos and big
- 1:27:49Speaker 5: straw hats? And in the front row you just see
- 1:27:53Speaker 5: a big straw hat guy wearing a Denver Bronco jersey.
- 1:27:56Speaker 5: When it comes to CrowdWork moments, not too much outside
- 1:28:00Speaker 5: might have. I read that room and I knew that
- 1:28:03Speaker 5: they were down to have a fun time.
- 1:28:04Speaker 2: So I threw down something.
- 1:28:06Speaker 5: More spicy, more abstract material than I have even some
- 1:28:11Speaker 5: of it, like probably the hardest hitting material that I
- 1:28:13Speaker 5: have well received, well received.
- 1:28:15Speaker 2: I got away with it nice.
- 1:28:17Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, it's a It was an absolutehoot, and it
- 1:28:20Speaker 5: just honestly I needed that.
- 1:28:22Speaker 2: Doctor. Audience came to see give me a visit this
- 1:28:25Speaker 2: past week. So where's the next performance?
- 1:28:28Speaker 5: My next time doing stand up is actually at the
- 1:28:30Speaker 5: Villages this weekend.
- 1:28:31Speaker 2: Is it really?
- 1:28:32Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 1:28:32Speaker 2: Yeah? Oh, they're gonna love you and your own dude.
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: I kind of want to go see you do stand
- 1:28:36Speaker 2: up of the Villages. Yeah, I'm doing it. You can
- 1:28:38Speaker 2: get tickets a ross comedy but also, oh oh oh no,
- 1:28:42Speaker 2: did someone text you? Oh the picture No?
- 1:28:46Speaker 6: Seven seven zero three one? He had three beers holes
- 1:28:49Speaker 6: in both socks and jack I emailed you the picks
- 1:28:51Speaker 6: and video.
- 1:28:52Speaker 2: Oh wow, and this is big T.
- 1:28:55Speaker 6: This is big tea.
- 1:28:56Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, big T is just one letter away
- 1:29:00Speaker 5: from being bigot. That would be a fun time to
- 1:29:04Speaker 5: share that little word play joke. But no, it was
- 1:29:09Speaker 5: still great seeing all the familiar faces. Me and Melbourne
- 1:29:11Speaker 5: go now way back. And I'll even announce right now,
- 1:29:15Speaker 5: is that not only do I have the villages right now,
- 1:29:18Speaker 5: but Redtail Country Club.
- 1:29:20Speaker 2: Yeah, that's up by us. Yeah, guess what you're always
- 1:29:23Speaker 2: comment I'll be damn, Are you serious? I'm doing comedy
- 1:29:25Speaker 2: in their country club? Yes, and I believe I'm playing
- 1:29:28Speaker 2: the golf course, maybe even earlier that day. Those tickets
- 1:29:31Speaker 2: are also if you're over in Redtail country Club land,
- 1:29:35Speaker 2: they have a bar and grill there and that's where
- 1:29:37Speaker 2: I'll be slinging jokes. You do comedy there. That's a Sorrento.
- 1:29:39Speaker 2: Mount Dora Eustace areat there kind of near Debeni in
- 1:29:43Speaker 2: Lake County, right off of the four twenty nine, and
- 1:29:46Speaker 2: it's really easy to get to and beautiful, beautiful property.
- 1:29:49Speaker 2: And I am in cahoots. This is the thing.
- 1:29:51Speaker 5: I only have a handful of more stand up shows,
- 1:29:54Speaker 5: and then it's gonna be sketch comedy. Yeah yeah, from
- 1:29:57Speaker 5: like August on for the most part, taking out ten
- 1:29:59Speaker 5: sc I'll be going back to Melbourne. It all comes
- 1:30:04Speaker 5: to fruition here. Then I'll be coming back to Melbourne
- 1:30:07Speaker 5: with the sketch show.
- 1:30:08Speaker 2: Very nice. Okay, there's some video up here, some photographs
- 1:30:11Speaker 2: on this screen. There's see there's too many damn cameras. Fross,
- 1:30:15Speaker 2: there's too many cameras.
- 1:30:17Speaker 6: Somebody also said they saw your pack and saw your path.
- 1:30:21Speaker 2: That's fine, man, that's what I was shooting for, all right, very.
- 1:30:23Speaker 6: Good, don't see all right?
- 1:30:25Speaker 2: For seven nine four one text us at seven seven
- 1:30:30Speaker 2: zero three one back in a.
- 1:30:31Speaker 24: Second cot you and you gotta wait, you know, hell
- 1:30:42Speaker 24: fty bag in rubbage And sadly the courts said I'm
- 1:30:49Speaker 24: not allowed to drink beer for the next six months.
- 1:30:52Speaker 2: Whoa hey, who is to say I'm not going to
- 1:30:58Speaker 2: break a law or two? Good show, y'all. You had
- 1:31:01Speaker 2: a miney man, that's stringing back everybody.
- 1:31:05Speaker 25: It's Kate addiction, and it's it's not the person, it's
- 1:31:09Speaker 25: the disease. But still he's not a lot of time
- 1:31:13Speaker 25: to get that together. You know, I think it's over.
- 1:31:16Speaker 25: I thought's okay because you know who I like. I
- 1:31:18Speaker 25: like that Scottie Shuffler. He's cute and he doesn't need hair.
- 1:31:23Speaker 25: He's just really cute.
- 1:31:27Speaker 2: What is she doing? What does that sound in the background,
- 1:31:31Speaker 2: It's like she's on a train. It sounded like is
- 1:31:34Speaker 2: that It sounded like the thing that used to go
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: in front of trains where the two guys would push
- 1:31:40Speaker 2: down on each side. But what was that sound? Did
- 1:31:44Speaker 2: it sounded like she was moving on or writing something?
- 1:31:46Speaker 2: Did it not?
- 1:31:48Speaker 8: All right?
- 1:31:49Speaker 2: Welcome back to the Jim Kber Show. We all Radio
- 1:31:51Speaker 2: one O four point one. I'm Jim, dev Jack and
- 1:31:52Speaker 2: Ross are here as well. You want to hear it again?
- 1:31:55Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:31:55Speaker 2: Yeah, what is this? Her voice kills me by the way.
- 1:32:02Speaker 25: To get that together? You know, I think it's over,
- 1:32:05Speaker 25: But that's okay because you know who I like. I
- 1:32:07Speaker 25: like that Scottie Shuffler. He's cute and he doesn't need hair.
- 1:32:12Speaker 25: He's just really cute.
- 1:32:14Speaker 2: What is that? It seems like a moving vehicle but
- 1:32:18Speaker 2: with a window that's rattling. Yes, something is wild in
- 1:32:21Speaker 2: that man Like she's like he's riding on a train.
- 1:32:23Speaker 2: Or a trolley or something.
- 1:32:25Speaker 5: I've already convinced myself that she's like a clown hobo
- 1:32:28Speaker 5: trained dueller.
- 1:32:29Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, that'd be great. I get her in
- 1:32:31Speaker 2: here immediately. Seven seven zero three one. That's how you
- 1:32:34Speaker 2: text us. Let me ask you guys a quick question.
- 1:32:36Speaker 2: This is just an aside because there's a story that
- 1:32:40Speaker 2: it talks about this, and I wonder because each of
- 1:32:44Speaker 2: you is we're all from different places. None of us
- 1:32:46Speaker 2: were born here in Orlando. Ross is from Naples, Jacket
- 1:32:50Speaker 2: is from Jersey, devis from Wisconsin, and I am from
- 1:32:53Speaker 2: Putnam County, from Platko. I'm actually the only know you're
- 1:32:57Speaker 2: a Floridian. Yeah, yeah, so Lewis Bolden Do you know
- 1:33:00Speaker 2: who that is? Yes? Yeah, I think he's a reporter
- 1:33:02Speaker 2: New six Yeah, Channel six right, been around for a
- 1:33:05Speaker 2: very long time. By the way, I don't know if
- 1:33:06Speaker 2: you know he's been on the airplay twenty five years
- 1:33:08Speaker 2: or something. Wow, yeah, that's exactly what he said in
- 1:33:11Speaker 2: the story. He's he's leaving Orlando. Okay, let me double
- 1:33:15Speaker 2: check that, because now you're a h Yeah. WKMG News
- 1:33:20Speaker 2: six anchor investigator signs off after twenty five years of service. Oh,
- 1:33:24Speaker 2: my yeah, crazy right because he looks so young. And
- 1:33:28Speaker 2: I gonna tell you something too, So Lewis isn't like
- 1:33:30Speaker 2: a really big guy, right, yeah, he's like probably you know,
- 1:33:33Speaker 2: five six or something like that, and he's and he's thin, right.
- 1:33:36Speaker 2: And I made a comment about him one time to
- 1:33:38Speaker 2: Matt Austin, nothing crazy or anything like that, but he goes, dude,
- 1:33:42Speaker 2: don't blank with Lewis Bolden. That guy is absolutely ripped
- 1:33:46Speaker 2: in strong af So it was kind of funny. But anyway,
- 1:33:50Speaker 2: Lewis Bolden announced that he's going back to his hometown
- 1:33:54Speaker 2: after twenty five years of being other markets. He's going
- 1:33:57Speaker 2: back to Memphis, Tennessee. That's where he's from, and he's
- 1:33:59Speaker 2: taking the afternoon anchor slot there because he wanted to
- 1:34:03Speaker 2: go back home. Oh cool, right, It's kind of a
- 1:34:06Speaker 2: dream world. And actually we know a few news people
- 1:34:08Speaker 2: that have done this, right, They found some success outside
- 1:34:11Speaker 2: of their hometown, build themselves a name, and can go
- 1:34:13Speaker 2: back to the market that they find uh interesting. And
- 1:34:16Speaker 2: I have to ask, is there any part of you
- 1:34:18Speaker 2: guys that kind of wants to go back to where
- 1:34:21Speaker 2: you were from? Did you ever see yourself like going
- 1:34:24Speaker 2: back and living in Naples. Does that ever? Are you
- 1:34:27Speaker 2: to Jersey?
- 1:34:28Speaker 24: Jack?
- 1:34:28Speaker 2: Are you to Wisconsin? I mean, I can see it.
- 1:34:31Speaker 2: I don't want to do it. You don't want to
- 1:34:32Speaker 2: do it. You have no interest in going back to Naples,
- 1:34:35Speaker 2: Florida at all?
- 1:34:36Speaker 17: Nah?
- 1:34:36Speaker 3: Not?
- 1:34:36Speaker 2: Yeah, because I mean it's an old I think you're
- 1:34:38Speaker 2: the easiest one of the crowd to ask that too,
- 1:34:39Speaker 2: because I mean Naples is just like full of old people.
- 1:34:42Speaker 2: Well what the hell did you do there?
- 1:34:43Speaker 5: It is filled with old people, but they do have
- 1:34:46Speaker 5: like a ton of money, and there is somewhat of
- 1:34:48Speaker 5: a night life scene that's kind of like blossoming. Every
- 1:34:51Speaker 5: time I go down there. It's kind of like the
- 1:34:53Speaker 5: drunkest I ever get. Oh really yeah, because you're running
- 1:34:56Speaker 5: into high school buds.
- 1:34:58Speaker 2: You're like, all just want more, right right right? Tell
- 1:35:00Speaker 2: me how you did it again? So like what I
- 1:35:03Speaker 2: was twenty eight kad like yeah, just all of that.
- 1:35:06Speaker 2: So but I have no interest. I'm a city slicker
- 1:35:09Speaker 2: and Naples doesn't have enough city for me to slick.
- 1:35:12Speaker 2: So ross is off. No going back home, Jack? Yeah,
- 1:35:16Speaker 2: And did you ever think about moving back to Jersey,
- 1:35:18Speaker 2: like your hometown, to like live out the rest of
- 1:35:21Speaker 2: your life in an area that you knew as a child,
- 1:35:24Speaker 2: I wouldn't mind. See, it's kind of that's the opposite
- 1:35:27Speaker 2: of what people tend to do. They tend to, you know,
- 1:35:30Speaker 2: work up there, then they retired down here. That's how
- 1:35:33Speaker 2: I my mom got here, and that's how I ended
- 1:35:36Speaker 2: up here, right coming to visit her. But every time
- 1:35:39Speaker 2: i'm up there, I'm like, I wouldn't mind living here.
- 1:35:41Speaker 2: But if the job was there, like if this job,
- 1:35:45Speaker 2: if we were working in New York, that would be great. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:35:50Speaker 2: how about you.
- 1:35:51Speaker 6: None, unless it's a cabin in the woods, that's it.
- 1:35:53Speaker 2: That's the only reason you go back. Because have you
- 1:35:55Speaker 2: even how many times have you been back to Wisconsin
- 1:35:57Speaker 2: since you moved away?
- 1:35:58Speaker 6: Probably just a couple of times. It's a great place
- 1:36:02Speaker 6: to grow up. It's just it doesn't have enough industry.
- 1:36:07Speaker 2: To keep you entertained or excited.
- 1:36:08Speaker 6: No, entertain But I don't know what I would do there.
- 1:36:11Speaker 6: That's the Green Bays, Like, I mean, that's that's paper
- 1:36:13Speaker 6: milk country.
- 1:36:14Speaker 2: Oh is it really?
- 1:36:15Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean that's that's still I mean it's not
- 1:36:19Speaker 6: still country, but I mean it's manufacturing.
- 1:36:21Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I just didn't know if you had
- 1:36:23Speaker 2: any like any any connection to that area, because I
- 1:36:28Speaker 2: know you haven't been there for years, But I.
- 1:36:29Speaker 6: Mean, yeah, in fact, it's great to go back because
- 1:36:32Speaker 6: when you look at it with eyes of a child,
- 1:36:34Speaker 6: you're like, God, this place.
- 1:36:35Speaker 2: Right, I can't work here. This place.
- 1:36:38Speaker 6: It's ugly, it's boring. And then you go back as
- 1:36:40Speaker 6: an adult and you were like, what was I thinking?
- 1:36:43Speaker 6: The big red barns, the rolling hills, that kind of
- 1:36:46Speaker 6: Midwest vibe. Sure, yeah, I'd love it for a vacation spot.
- 1:36:50Speaker 6: But for a career yet that I don't know.
- 1:36:52Speaker 2: Yeah, same here, man. I've actually even fantasized buying a
- 1:36:56Speaker 2: little place up in my hometown, just like a little
- 1:36:58Speaker 2: cabin or a cottage or something, to have something to
- 1:37:00Speaker 2: go back and hang out if I want to. But
- 1:37:02Speaker 2: to be quite honest with you, like the friends that
- 1:37:04Speaker 2: I knew in high school, I don't really know many
- 1:37:06Speaker 2: of them anymore. One or two of them I go
- 1:37:09Speaker 2: back and see and hang out with, but for the
- 1:37:10Speaker 2: most part, it would just be kind of going back there.
- 1:37:12Speaker 2: I don't really have a reason to go back, Like
- 1:37:14Speaker 2: I have one family member alive up there.
- 1:37:16Speaker 8: That's it.
- 1:37:17Speaker 5: I like Dev's answer of it has to be a
- 1:37:19Speaker 5: cabin in the woods, which has nothing to do with
- 1:37:21Speaker 5: really Wisconsin, right, It's just like I.
- 1:37:24Speaker 2: Just wanting to be away from everyone.
- 1:37:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:37:26Speaker 2: Yeah, cabin in the woods, right is stream Yeah?
- 1:37:29Speaker 6: Oh yeah, but you'd have to know Wisconsin woods. Okay,
- 1:37:32Speaker 6: so you'd have to know Wisconsin wood. Is it cabin
- 1:37:34Speaker 6: in the woods or cabin in the Wisconsin woods? Wisconsin woods? Absolutely?
- 1:37:39Speaker 2: What makes the woods so different?
- 1:37:40Speaker 8: What is the deal?
- 1:37:41Speaker 6: It's like not much underbrush, it's just tree forest. You
- 1:37:45Speaker 6: don't see you know, pal meadows. Oh, you don't see
- 1:37:48Speaker 6: long leaf pine. You know, you'll see pine boughs, you'll
- 1:37:51Speaker 6: see birch trees, you'll see poplar trees. You don't see
- 1:37:56Speaker 6: alligators and you.
- 1:37:57Speaker 2: Know all that stuff. Oh that stuff. But the one thing,
- 1:38:01Speaker 2: there's one wolves.
- 1:38:02Speaker 5: There's one answer that I was surprising Madgers I don't accept,
- 1:38:06Speaker 5: which was Jack's because, like you.
- 1:38:11Speaker 2: And take the career part out of it, we're just
- 1:38:13Speaker 2: talking about like, yeah, your hometown. Yeah, your hometown, your stomp,
- 1:38:18Speaker 2: your to your two miles square radius town you grew up.
- 1:38:21Speaker 2: But what the hell would I do there?
- 1:38:22Speaker 17: Yeah?
- 1:38:22Speaker 2: But that's the whole point is like when you think
- 1:38:24Speaker 2: about going back there, there has to be a nostalgia
- 1:38:26Speaker 2: trigger to want to go back. You have to have
- 1:38:28Speaker 2: something there you can see yourself doing on a daily basis.
- 1:38:32Speaker 2: It can't be just I'm going to go back there
- 1:38:33Speaker 2: for the sake of going back. You have to have,
- 1:38:35Speaker 2: like you he has a plan, Lewis Bolden is going
- 1:38:38Speaker 2: back there. He's going back to work. He just wants
- 1:38:40Speaker 2: to broadcast in his career. He's going back for a job.
- 1:38:44Speaker 5: All right, So then what happens in Jersey goes Yeah,
- 1:38:46Speaker 5: we don't have that job, then I don't go there.
- 1:38:50Speaker 2: Answer. He doesn't have a like a nostalgic connection to
- 1:38:53Speaker 2: it at all. I like being in the area. I
- 1:38:56Speaker 2: miss it. It's not it's a beauty by the way,
- 1:38:58Speaker 2: nor of the New Jersey's gorge It's gorgeous. You have
- 1:39:01Speaker 2: that your full seasons and it's it's a lovely place.
- 1:39:06Speaker 2: Being in the city is electric, you know, and being
- 1:39:09Speaker 2: able to do anything at any time, Yeah, is a
- 1:39:12Speaker 2: lot of fun.
- 1:39:12Speaker 8: You're right.
- 1:39:13Speaker 2: Yeah, Gloria lives right on the other side, and we
- 1:39:15Speaker 2: go up there and you're right in the city and
- 1:39:16Speaker 2: the right back it's it's gorgeously. I miss those things.
- 1:39:20Speaker 2: But you know, so if the job was there. That
- 1:39:22Speaker 2: would be great taking the subway to work. Oh yeah,
- 1:39:25Speaker 2: let's go about all that. Oh you're gonna drive? Yeah,
- 1:39:29Speaker 2: I'd rather have a car.
- 1:39:31Speaker 8: Good luck.
- 1:39:32Speaker 2: I would not want to. I wouldn't want to ride
- 1:39:34Speaker 2: the subway. But I understand what they're saying. Ease wise,
- 1:39:36Speaker 2: that's the answer. But I would not want to do that.
- 1:39:38Speaker 2: I want to spending one thousand dollars a month on parking.
- 1:39:42Speaker 3: If you.
- 1:39:43Speaker 2: Well, what is it about the subway that scares you me? Yeah,
- 1:39:48Speaker 2: it's the people.
- 1:39:50Speaker 6: Yeah, but Keto reeves takes so I have a problem
- 1:39:52Speaker 6: with the cabin in the woods.
- 1:39:54Speaker 2: Okay, it's the people, Dude, I don't what I mean.
- 1:39:57Speaker 2: If you've ever been on the subway in New York,
- 1:39:59Speaker 2: not a problem in cabin in the woods. I respect that.
- 1:40:02Speaker 2: I'm too soft to go live in a cabin in
- 1:40:03Speaker 2: the woods.
- 1:40:04Speaker 8: I'd be like the.
- 1:40:05Speaker 2: Bugs got almighty. I was talking to a girl that
- 1:40:08Speaker 2: sells for us a little bit earlier, and we were
- 1:40:10Speaker 2: in here and she and her husband bought this bus
- 1:40:14Speaker 2: that they're going to convert into like a travel bus.
- 1:40:16Speaker 8: Good.
- 1:40:17Speaker 6: All those are my favorite on Instagram.
- 1:40:18Speaker 2: And I'm telling you, dude, I immediately you gonna ask
- 1:40:21Speaker 2: to Deborah. I leaned in in a hurry. I was like, dude,
- 1:40:24Speaker 2: that is dream world stuff right there on a bus.
- 1:40:28Speaker 2: Just no, no, no, nothing, no responsibilities at all. Just
- 1:40:33Speaker 2: wake up in the morning and figure out where you
- 1:40:35Speaker 2: want to be and go there.
- 1:40:36Speaker 6: Well, I mean you could still work, you know, remotely,
- 1:40:38Speaker 6: but you can turn it into a cabin in the woods.
- 1:40:40Speaker 6: Then you drive somewhere else. It's a beach house.
- 1:40:42Speaker 2: Oh yeah, you know, but.
- 1:40:45Speaker 5: Then gas prices as soon as the straights up and
- 1:40:48Speaker 5: they're coming down.
- 1:40:49Speaker 2: That's what I hear. All right, four oh seven nine
- 1:40:52Speaker 2: four one text us at seven seven zero three one.
- 1:40:56Speaker 2: What burger chain do you think is in trouble?
- 1:40:59Speaker 3: Uh?
- 1:40:59Speaker 2: Burger CA. Yeah, there's a there's a a one of
- 1:41:02Speaker 2: the burger chains that's been around for quite a while
- 1:41:04Speaker 2: is actually in trouble right now. They are having a
- 1:41:07Speaker 2: hard time keeping customers. They're having a hard time creating
- 1:41:10Speaker 2: new customers. And what they say is is this brand
- 1:41:14Speaker 2: leaned on its branding for too long and did not
- 1:41:17Speaker 2: morph and create more opportunities for new customers come on board. Hmmm.
- 1:41:24Speaker 2: I thought there's gonna be a bunch of other stuff
- 1:41:26Speaker 2: it's not Burger Kit, it's not Burger King.
- 1:41:28Speaker 6: No, is it McDonald's.
- 1:41:29Speaker 2: It is not me Oh my god, no, McDonald's. McDonald's
- 1:41:32Speaker 2: is like one of the best investments you could ever
- 1:41:33Speaker 2: make in your entire life. By the way, when you
- 1:41:35Speaker 2: hear people investing like they just buy McDonald's, nobody ever
- 1:41:39Speaker 2: doesn't go. I mean, it's like literally one of the
- 1:41:41Speaker 2: most solid dollars you could spend. It is Wendy's. Wendy's
- 1:41:44Speaker 2: is in trouble. What they do. It's just that there.
- 1:41:48Speaker 2: It's what they didn't do, buddy, Like their stores, the
- 1:41:51Speaker 2: quality has gone down. They haven't really they haven't really
- 1:41:54Speaker 2: introduced anything to kind of create a new vibe for themselves.
- 1:41:58Speaker 2: And they're having a hard time. I'm keeping up because
- 1:42:01Speaker 2: these other stores have kept advertising, they've kept their brand fresh,
- 1:42:06Speaker 2: they've tried to do their best, and Wendy's hasn't done it.
- 1:42:10Speaker 2: And it says a sustained sales slide, a shrinking US footprint,
- 1:42:14Speaker 2: and a company share price that's lost more than half
- 1:42:17Speaker 2: its value in five years. Wow. It says their attempt
- 1:42:22Speaker 2: at a turnaround has begun. I guess. May twenty first,
- 1:42:24Speaker 2: a company named the restaurant industry, a guy named Bob
- 1:42:27Speaker 2: Wright as its new chief, CEO and president, and they're
- 1:42:32Speaker 2: gonna go in there and try to kind of work
- 1:42:33Speaker 2: some things around to get people back into Wendy's. And
- 1:42:35Speaker 2: we've seen this because they were the ones that introduced
- 1:42:37Speaker 2: that stupid like pasta bar at a burger restaurant. Come
- 1:42:40Speaker 2: on now, it was terrible, dude, and the salad bar
- 1:42:43Speaker 2: they tried to introduce to a burger restaurant. They've been
- 1:42:45Speaker 2: trying to do stuff like this for a while. I'm
- 1:42:47Speaker 2: not showing up to these burger spots looking for five
- 1:42:50Speaker 2: or and I think once Dave died. I think once
- 1:42:53Speaker 2: Dave died, it kind of took away the soul of
- 1:42:56Speaker 2: the company. You know, well, you can't give them a
- 1:42:58Speaker 2: hard time. They tried things that failed. The problem that
- 1:43:03Speaker 2: you laid out was that they stopped trying. Yeah, that's what.
- 1:43:06Speaker 2: It says that basically their branding did not keep up
- 1:43:09Speaker 2: with other branding going into the new world of advertising.
- 1:43:14Speaker 2: It says it's always stiked its claim on one, it's
- 1:43:16Speaker 2: always stiked its entire identity on one. Claim Fresh never frozen.
- 1:43:20Speaker 2: It was the founding principle Dave Thomas did that, and
- 1:43:23Speaker 2: of course, when Dave Thomas wasn't doing the commercials anymore,
- 1:43:25Speaker 2: didn't have its hometown feel anymore. And then you threw
- 1:43:28Speaker 2: it into the same lexicon as these other brands, and
- 1:43:30Speaker 2: they just can't hold up.
- 1:43:32Speaker 5: Going back to the original topic of this entire program
- 1:43:35Speaker 5: today of going man, it's the same thing. Why aren't
- 1:43:38Speaker 5: the followers going around because it lost its hometown feel?
- 1:43:43Speaker 5: It a dude, it's a different product. When you lose
- 1:43:46Speaker 5: hometown likability.
- 1:43:47Speaker 2: What a great comeback. That's exactly the case. It's right,
- 1:43:50Speaker 2: it says the commitment to quality has been Windy's blessing
- 1:43:52Speaker 2: and its curse. Fresh beef costs more than frozen beef.
- 1:43:55Speaker 2: It requires a more complex supply chain, tighter cold storage
- 1:43:59Speaker 2: and aster kitchen throughput. In other words, because they never
- 1:44:02Speaker 2: freeze their beef, that has a shorter lifespan for them
- 1:44:06Speaker 2: to be able to get it out the door.
- 1:44:08Speaker 5: But I know this is a weird way to word this,
- 1:44:11Speaker 5: but Dave Thomas passing is responsible for one of the
- 1:44:14Speaker 5: hardest times I've ever cried laughed because my brother decided
- 1:44:18Speaker 5: to tell the fast food employee the day of that
- 1:44:22Speaker 5: Dave Thomas passed, and he tells a fast food employee this,
- 1:44:25Speaker 5: and the employee just thought total troll job and said,
- 1:44:29Speaker 5: f you dude trying to make fun of Like.
- 1:44:31Speaker 2: Oh he didn't know. Oh yeah. My brother was like, no,
- 1:44:34Speaker 2: I'm serious, please, I'm not trying to be disrespectful at all. Yeah,
- 1:44:40Speaker 2: it says here, it says it says they try to
- 1:44:42Speaker 2: keep up, but it says where a single burger como
- 1:44:45Speaker 2: can easily run north of twelve to fifteen dollars when
- 1:44:48Speaker 2: these isn't cheap enough to compete with McDonald's on value,
- 1:44:51Speaker 2: and it isn't premium enough to compete with like shake
- 1:44:53Speaker 2: check or five guys, So they find themselves in this
- 1:44:57Speaker 2: weird kind of in between. Yeah, it's weird, kind of
- 1:45:01Speaker 2: purgatory burger, purgatory burgatory. I liked them. Oh I like
- 1:45:06Speaker 2: that burgatory. I like it. And the numbers are brutal
- 1:45:09Speaker 2: here check this out. Wendy's average unit volume in twenty
- 1:45:11Speaker 2: twenty four was about two point one million per restaurant.
- 1:45:15Speaker 2: McDonald's doubles that McDonald's does, double the business that every
- 1:45:19Speaker 2: Wendy's does. I just bought their stock. They're basically had
- 1:45:22Speaker 2: a fifty two week will watch out, dude, McDonald's. It's
- 1:45:26Speaker 2: the hottest money out. They had two that failed the
- 1:45:29Speaker 2: same intersection in winter springs over the past brillion years.
- 1:45:33Speaker 2: Usually they don't fail. Usually they just move locations. Like
- 1:45:36Speaker 2: if you see one closing down, usually they're just building
- 1:45:38Speaker 2: a newer version of that. They rarely close down. That
- 1:45:41Speaker 2: is one of the most solid investments you can make
- 1:45:43Speaker 2: in America's mcdonald'. Well, you're talking McDonald I'm talking about Wendy. Yeah,
- 1:45:46Speaker 2: there's the McDonald's has been there forever. I know exactly
- 1:45:49Speaker 2: which when you're talking about. They had one in our
- 1:45:51Speaker 2: town center and that failed, and then they built another
- 1:45:54Speaker 2: freestanding one and that lasted a bit. Now that's gone. Yeah,
- 1:45:59Speaker 2: says ah. The customers are way less tolerant than anything.
- 1:46:02Speaker 2: And if they've had a bad experience your restaurant more
- 1:46:05Speaker 2: than once or twice, that they people will just like, look,
- 1:46:07Speaker 2: I have choices now. I don't have to go to
- 1:46:09Speaker 2: Wendy's for a big, fat, fresh burger anymore. I can
- 1:46:11Speaker 2: go to five Guys, I can go to shake Check,
- 1:46:13Speaker 2: I can go to all these other places to get
- 1:46:15Speaker 2: burgers that are similar to Wendy's burgers. And even if
- 1:46:18Speaker 2: I pay a little more, I feel fine for it
- 1:46:20Speaker 2: because I'm getting a better quality product. Because their products
- 1:46:23Speaker 2: just haven't really kept up. They've changed their fryars been
- 1:46:26Speaker 2: like four times in the last ten years. Right, They're
- 1:46:28Speaker 2: the ones that did the sea salt, then they kept
- 1:46:30Speaker 2: the skin on, then they didn't have the skin, then
- 1:46:32Speaker 2: they went back to that. And I actually don't mind.
- 1:46:35Speaker 2: No Wendy's Burger, I like that. It's fine. Yeah, I
- 1:46:38Speaker 2: mean it's square, you know, yeah, yeah, yeah, we're not
- 1:46:40Speaker 2: cutting anything off, all right? For a seven nine and
- 1:46:43Speaker 2: six four one text does seven seven zero three one?
- 1:46:46Speaker 2: Load them up, guys, it's time for a trivia. I
- 1:46:47Speaker 2: think we have some smashing pumpkin tickets. If you hang loose, Jack,
- 1:46:50Speaker 2: I'll tell you the.
- 1:46:51Speaker 7: Next took your recommendation the other day with the long
- 1:46:54Speaker 7: John Silvers got a four piece, two pieces of fish,
- 1:46:59Speaker 7: two pieces the chicken, some hush puppies, and some crispy crumbles.
- 1:47:04Speaker 7: So your home ate it. It was delicious. Thirty minutes
- 1:47:07Speaker 7: later on the couch, thought I was dying having a
- 1:47:11Speaker 7: heart attack. Called my wife. She rushed home, seen the bag,
- 1:47:15Speaker 7: threw some thumbs at me and call me a dumbass.
- 1:47:18Speaker 11: Well, thank you guys, just gonna talk here. I hope
- 1:47:21Speaker 11: you're having a great day. Yeah, we had like five
- 1:47:24Speaker 11: local Wendy's here in the Lancing area, Grand Ledge whatever.
- 1:47:28Speaker 11: And out of the five, there's one left. Yeah, it's
- 1:47:31Speaker 11: downtown Lancing and it's got security guards in the lobby
- 1:47:35Speaker 11: because I guess that's not a good area. All right,
- 1:47:38Speaker 11: go figure. That's the one Wendy's that still has opened.
- 1:47:43Speaker 11: They got a great iced tea though, and lemonade.
- 1:47:48Speaker 2: Where's the beef? Where's the beef? That was as viral
- 1:47:54Speaker 2: as you can possibly imagine anything being at that time.
- 1:47:56Speaker 2: Clara Peller like, that's as viral as anything will ever be.
- 1:48:00Speaker 2: The where's the beef thing Wendy's commercial back in the
- 1:48:03Speaker 2: eighties was absolutely overwhelming. It was everywhere.
- 1:48:06Speaker 5: I'm all in with what you talk about, willis. Yeah,
- 1:48:08Speaker 5: that's another one that's not a commercial though, kiss.
- 1:48:12Speaker 2: All right? Four four one text seven seven zero three
- 1:48:16Speaker 2: one of them Jim, there's death hell jacket's ear and
- 1:48:18Speaker 2: so it was ross it's a true jack what's in
- 1:48:20Speaker 2: the Jackie sack? All the board? Jackie chucko cheo chun
- 1:48:23Speaker 2: clickingy clack clickingy clack a trio of prizes, and our
- 1:48:28Speaker 2: winner today will get to select which one they would like,
- 1:48:31Speaker 2: and it might be a pair of tickets to Gator
- 1:48:33Speaker 2: Land Institution here in Central Florida. Been doing it for
- 1:48:37Speaker 2: several decades and this is your chance to go. Monsters
- 1:48:42Speaker 2: will be broadcasting live there on Friday. Also in the
- 1:48:45Speaker 2: Jackie Sack, a pair of tickets to Orlando Pride versus
- 1:48:50Speaker 2: ac Current at Interimcos Stadium that happens July tenth. And finally,
- 1:48:56Speaker 2: a pair of tickets Jimmy mentioned it before the break
- 1:48:59Speaker 2: to see this smashing pump They're gonna be in Tampa
- 1:49:05Speaker 2: at the Benchmark International Arena on October sixteen, which reminds
- 1:49:09Speaker 2: me I once asked a girl if she likes smashing pumpkins.
- 1:49:13Speaker 2: She said, I don't know. I never tried. Story. All right,
- 1:49:19Speaker 2: dev one, two, three, four or five? Let's go four four?
- 1:49:21Speaker 2: It is Andrew. How you doing.
- 1:49:25Speaker 3: I'm doing well?
- 1:49:25Speaker 2: How about doing good? Buddy? Wanna play a little game
- 1:49:27Speaker 2: with us?
- 1:49:29Speaker 17: Absolutely, let's do it.
- 1:49:30Speaker 2: Then? All right, Andrew, this is a real easy game. Boss,
- 1:49:36Speaker 2: got a question here for you. Four answers. One of
- 1:49:38Speaker 2: these answers is not true, buddy, And if you could
- 1:49:41Speaker 2: find that one, I will send you over to Jackie Sack,
- 1:49:43Speaker 2: where a bunch of cool stuff is waiting for you.
- 1:49:45Speaker 2: Are you ready? I am all right, buddy. Today is
- 1:49:49Speaker 2: World Otter Day. Oh cool, that's right, It's World Otter Day.
- 1:49:53Speaker 2: Here are three fun facts about otters and one lie.
- 1:49:55Speaker 2: You are to know? Na, I'm gonna end it all right,
- 1:50:00Speaker 2: very good, All right, buddy. We're talking about otters. Which
- 1:50:02Speaker 2: one of these is not true? Number one, Sea otters
- 1:50:05Speaker 2: have the thickest fur of any mammal on earth, with
- 1:50:08Speaker 2: up to one million hairs per square inch. Number two
- 1:50:12Speaker 2: otters have folds of skin under their arms that act
- 1:50:15Speaker 2: as pockets. That's where they keep stones or food. Number
- 1:50:19Speaker 2: three River otters can hold their breath up to twelve minutes.
- 1:50:23Speaker 2: Or Lastly, otter poop is called sprint, and it's said
- 1:50:27Speaker 2: to smell like violets. Which of those is a lie?
- 1:50:31Speaker 3: Three?
- 1:50:32Speaker 2: Three is the one? But if you're a winner, wow,
- 1:50:36Speaker 2: there you go. How long do you think it is, bud?
- 1:50:38Speaker 2: And why did you choose that one? I don't even care, true,
- 1:50:43Speaker 2: you don't even care. It doesn't matter. I do not
- 1:50:46Speaker 2: even care.
- 1:50:46Speaker 6: You put them on postive.
- 1:50:48Speaker 2: I put them on hold, he's there, Okay, spray it.
- 1:50:51Speaker 2: Just for the record, the first time I put it
- 1:50:53Speaker 2: in three in two months, Yeah, in two months, I
- 1:50:56Speaker 2: haven't put it in the three has.
- 1:50:58Speaker 6: I figured it's got to be longer than that, almost double.
- 1:51:00Speaker 2: It's not though, it's actually not even that. Really, eight
- 1:51:03Speaker 2: minutes is about what a river otter can and there,
- 1:51:05Speaker 2: and they can hold their breath longer than a sea
- 1:51:07Speaker 2: otter that can only hold their breath about five to
- 1:51:09Speaker 2: six minutes.
- 1:51:10Speaker 6: I did not know that.
- 1:51:11Speaker 2: Yeah, let's go over these real quick. Sea otters do
- 1:51:13Speaker 2: have the thickest fur of any mammal on earth, with
- 1:51:16Speaker 2: up to one million hairs per square inch. Think about that, guys,
- 1:51:19Speaker 2: a square inch a million hares as he acts out
- 1:51:27Speaker 2: of square Otters do have folds of skin under their
- 1:51:30Speaker 2: arms that act as pockets where they keep stones or food.
- 1:51:35Speaker 2: River otters can't hold their breath up to about eight minutes.
- 1:51:37Speaker 2: And then lastly, otter poop. How do you how do
- 1:51:39Speaker 2: you pass up the holding your breath? For the one?
- 1:51:42Speaker 2: Otter poop is called sprint. That's true. Spr A I
- 1:51:46Speaker 2: N T. And it's said to smell like violets.
- 1:51:49Speaker 6: As soon as you said that it was so weird
- 1:51:51Speaker 6: it had.
- 1:51:51Speaker 2: To be true.
- 1:51:53Speaker 5: Here's the Here's the trick is that people aren't guessing,
- 1:51:57Speaker 5: like all of that seems like, wow, how could that
- 1:51:59Speaker 5: ever happened?
- 1:52:00Speaker 2: But the question is which one did Jim make up? Yeah,
- 1:52:03Speaker 2: that's the one. I don't think you could make up spray.
- 1:52:06Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, you don't think so. I don't know
- 1:52:09Speaker 2: if you've got spray that's out there that get a
- 1:52:12Speaker 2: sprain angle. Some other things about otters you may not
- 1:52:15Speaker 2: know before we get to some not ross thoughts. But
- 1:52:17Speaker 2: find out what's happening in good sauce. It's a banger,
- 1:52:19Speaker 2: all right, very good. Otters can swim how fast? Twenty
- 1:52:23Speaker 2: eight miles an hour?
- 1:52:25Speaker 6: Sixteen?
- 1:52:25Speaker 2: That's too fast. It's sixty miles an hour. Eight miles
- 1:52:29Speaker 2: an hour, or about three times as fast as a human.
- 1:52:31Speaker 2: Oh wow, okay. See utters one of the few mammals
- 1:52:34Speaker 2: that use tools. Otters use stones to bust open clams
- 1:52:39Speaker 2: and muscle shells, and that's why they keep them in
- 1:52:42Speaker 2: that little pocket. They actually are one of the few
- 1:52:44Speaker 2: that use tools because they burn so much energy staying
- 1:52:48Speaker 2: warm in cold water. Sea utters consume twenty five percent
- 1:52:51Speaker 2: of their body weighting food every day. Wow, crazy, I've
- 1:52:55Speaker 2: been there. Otter groups are defined differently depending on if
- 1:52:58Speaker 2: they're on land or in water. That's unique, right, I
- 1:53:00Speaker 2: don't know if any other animal that has this distinction.
- 1:53:03Speaker 2: If a group of otters is on land, they're called
- 1:53:06Speaker 2: a romp of otters, and if they're in the water,
- 1:53:10Speaker 2: they are called a raft of otters.
- 1:53:14Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:53:14Speaker 2: And then lastly here even though this is a crazy
- 1:53:18Speaker 2: this is so crazy. Even though they can be born
- 1:53:21Speaker 2: in the open ocean sea, otters cannot swim for the
- 1:53:25Speaker 2: first month that they're alive. The mother will blow air
- 1:53:30Speaker 2: into the tightly knitted, the tight hairs, and the air
- 1:53:35Speaker 2: will actually get trapped because the hair is so tight,
- 1:53:38Speaker 2: and the otter can float. She will also wrap the
- 1:53:41Speaker 2: baby in a leaf of ko or a kelp so
- 1:53:44Speaker 2: that the predators cannot find the baby while she goes
- 1:53:47Speaker 2: and finds food for the baby. Oh cool, So the
- 1:53:51Speaker 2: otter bomb blows air into the hair of the baby,
- 1:53:55Speaker 2: then wraps it in kelp so the baby can just
- 1:53:58Speaker 2: float on the surface look like a piece of grass,
- 1:54:01Speaker 2: so that the mom can go off and find food
- 1:54:03Speaker 2: and bring it back to the baby without the baby
- 1:54:05Speaker 2: being armed. Wow, crazy business. The is it the cutest
- 1:54:09Speaker 2: lake animal? It is by far, I mean, may be
- 1:54:12Speaker 2: one of the cutest animals in general.
- 1:54:14Speaker 5: I've heard though, and I actually have seen it where
- 1:54:17Speaker 5: an otter isn't They don't act as cute as they look.
- 1:54:21Speaker 2: Always know they can be vicious. There actually were two
- 1:54:24Speaker 2: of them in the lake I lived over here in Maitland,
- 1:54:26Speaker 2: and man, when you watch them eat, it's crazy because
- 1:54:29Speaker 2: they mean when they grab a fish, it's head first,
- 1:54:31Speaker 2: there is no plane around you just head goes right in,
- 1:54:34Speaker 2: bite the head off, just eat it like a popsicle.
- 1:54:36Speaker 2: And they were also eating. They would eat our lake muscles,
- 1:54:40Speaker 2: the little ones that would be near the edge. They
- 1:54:41Speaker 2: would bust those up. We would find the shells open
- 1:54:43Speaker 2: all over the place because they would sit up on
- 1:54:45Speaker 2: the shore and bust them open and eat the mussel.
- 1:54:49Speaker 2: Cool ass animals. They really are water dogs. And by
- 1:54:52Speaker 2: the way, the big river ones, the giant ones or
- 1:54:54Speaker 2: the giant sea otters, they could get up to seven
- 1:54:57Speaker 2: feet long and weigh almost eighty pounds. And you see
- 1:55:01Speaker 2: their teeth, right, I mean it looks like a jackal.
- 1:55:05Speaker 3: All right?
- 1:55:05Speaker 2: What we got for a good sauce.
- 1:55:07Speaker 5: I'm gonna tell you one of my biggest pros tonight
- 1:55:09Speaker 5: at eight o'clock and on this next segment about doing
- 1:55:12Speaker 5: shows in the villages, how a literal bedroom light almost
- 1:55:18Speaker 5: basically caused a divorce And is there any better feeling
- 1:55:23Speaker 5: in the world than that one thing that took five
- 1:55:26Speaker 5: minutes but you didn't.
- 1:55:27Speaker 2: Do it for three years? Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, oh yeah,
- 1:55:31Speaker 2: that was Audio McDonald's sprite for you all right after
- 1:55:35Speaker 2: the break. Much much more gonna say land mammal including otters,
- 1:55:39Speaker 2: due to their super slow heart rate, they were able
- 1:55:41Speaker 2: to hold their breath for twenty minutes. Wow, did not
- 1:55:44Speaker 2: know that about the honor or about the sloths. Well,
- 1:55:47Speaker 2: welcome back to the Jim Colbert Show or here on
- 1:55:49Speaker 2: Real Radio one oh four point one. Thanks for tuning in.
- 1:55:51Speaker 2: We appreciate that very much. I am Jim. There's dead
- 1:55:54Speaker 2: Hello and Jack Hi there and Ross has some thoughts.
- 1:55:56Speaker 2: Let's get them.
- 1:55:57Speaker 1: Oh yeah, it's weird, well guess, but it's funny.
- 1:56:01Speaker 2: Today's Ross Stotts sometimes brought to you by It's Ross
- 1:56:05Speaker 2: spelled like sauce mo. Do it. It's Ross thoughts.
- 1:56:10Speaker 5: You've heard the limericks before. Just call moo dot Com
- 1:56:13Speaker 5: and injured on the go. Just call Mo see at rhymes.
- 1:56:17Speaker 5: It's kind of like a limericks, like an old school thing,
- 1:56:19Speaker 5: whether it's a slip and fall, a car accident, mo
- 1:56:21Speaker 5: it is throwing some of the best events and he's
- 1:56:23Speaker 5: also giving out some of the best advice.
- 1:56:25Speaker 2: Just call Mo dot com.
- 1:56:27Speaker 5: All right, So today I am here on a Wednesday,
- 1:56:31Speaker 5: and I'm here to pimp out live what's happening on
- 1:56:33Speaker 5: Good Sauce, But I'm here to also start my own
- 1:56:35Speaker 5: little discussion by the end of this segment. So so
- 1:56:38Speaker 5: turn up the dials, stay in your car. One of
- 1:56:42Speaker 5: the very first things that we talked about that really
- 1:56:44Speaker 5: is kind of a bummer, is that like your generation
- 1:56:48Speaker 5: jim right, you had you had Carson, Yeah, gen X Carson.
- 1:56:52Speaker 5: Yeah all right, yeah you had Carson. Guess what we got.
- 1:56:55Speaker 5: We kind of got.
- 1:56:56Speaker 2: We got jackass Uh yeah, you have Jimmy Fallon, Yeah,
- 1:57:00Speaker 2: Seth Meyers and you have.
- 1:57:03Speaker 5: No I'm literally talking about the franchise show Yeah, okay,
- 1:57:07Speaker 5: very good, And how big of a difference it is
- 1:57:10Speaker 5: between like only it's so weird that the millennial generation
- 1:57:15Speaker 5: has now like tailored to the whole franchise that is Jackass,
- 1:57:19Speaker 5: I think more so than any other generation.
- 1:57:21Speaker 2: Is that fair to say?
- 1:57:22Speaker 26: Yeah?
- 1:57:22Speaker 2: I think so. Yeah? Right?
- 1:57:24Speaker 5: How insane is it just to say it out loud?
- 1:57:27Speaker 5: I think as they are cooking up another project.
- 1:57:29Speaker 2: Yeah they are.
- 1:57:30Speaker 5: Yeah, twenty six years. They've been doing that for twenty
- 1:57:34Speaker 5: six years. And when you look at him, it looks
- 1:57:36Speaker 5: like they've been doing it fifty six years. Yes, because
- 1:57:41Speaker 5: Johnny whatever his name is, looks like he's a I
- 1:57:43Speaker 5: mean that dude looks worn out.
- 1:57:45Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:57:45Speaker 5: Just kind of doing a deep dive on showing the
- 1:57:48Speaker 5: appreciation and respect that is the Jackass franchise and how
- 1:57:52Speaker 5: it was the first time that the Internet.
- 1:57:55Speaker 2: I don't want to say it.
- 1:57:56Speaker 5: I don't want to just brush off Jackass as Internet content,
- 1:58:00Speaker 5: but it was the first time I think society had
- 1:58:03Speaker 5: seen dumb things dumb extremely well and making you laugh
- 1:58:10Speaker 5: at the thing that you didn't really want.
- 1:58:12Speaker 2: To laugh at.
- 1:58:13Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:58:13Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, probably giving out some of the most primal
- 1:58:17Speaker 5: laughs of all time from any other franchise, more so
- 1:58:20Speaker 5: than any joke that's ever been written. Deb you're not
- 1:58:23Speaker 5: in your head? What was your favorite Jackass moment?
- 1:58:26Speaker 6: I literally could not eat dinner while I was watching
- 1:58:28Speaker 6: it because I would spit food through my nose.
- 1:58:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:58:31Speaker 6: The shopping cart because who wanted to get into a
- 1:58:34Speaker 6: shopping cart and just ripped through a parking lot until
- 1:58:37Speaker 6: you fall out of it?
- 1:58:38Speaker 2: I like the disco in the back of a van. Yeah,
- 1:58:41Speaker 2: the van was going unroller skates.
- 1:58:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:58:44Speaker 2: Fart mask, fart mask. Fart mask is a tough one.
- 1:58:47Speaker 2: That's a tough one to watch. Yeah, yeah, no him
- 1:58:50Speaker 2: throw up into the mask. My wife loves that show
- 1:58:53Speaker 2: so much much well, and it's just so weird.
- 1:58:57Speaker 5: Like that's why I bring up like you guys had Carson,
- 1:58:59Speaker 5: we had Knoxville exactly like, way different, how different tastes
- 1:59:04Speaker 5: of just like entertainment, ebbs and flow. How weird is
- 1:59:07Speaker 5: it knowing that Jackass has become Americana?
- 1:59:11Speaker 2: Oh yeah, one hundred percent, dude.
- 1:59:14Speaker 5: I'm not saying it's as American as Cherry Pie, but
- 1:59:18Speaker 5: it's getting closer.
- 1:59:20Speaker 2: Well, I mean, how you know that is if you
- 1:59:22Speaker 2: ask a lot of people for multiple generations to name
- 1:59:24Speaker 2: the cast of Jackass, a lot of people are gonna
- 1:59:27Speaker 2: know Steve O, Johnny Knoxville, Ban Margera or Margera. I
- 1:59:31Speaker 2: mean they're gonna know those people. Is it a pilot
- 1:59:35Speaker 2: or Pontius, Uh, Pontius, Yeah, Pontius. Yeah. It's just such
- 1:59:38Speaker 2: a wild thing.
- 1:59:39Speaker 5: So that's a huge topic of tonight that it's just
- 1:59:42Speaker 5: out of our control that we don't choose our celebrities,
- 1:59:45Speaker 5: you know, we only consume our celebrities. And who had
- 1:59:49Speaker 5: Jackass on their Bengo card back in nineteen ninety five.
- 1:59:52Speaker 2: No way, man, I was actually just looking up when
- 1:59:54Speaker 2: it started. It's ninety five, No, No, two thousand. I
- 1:59:57Speaker 2: believe two thousand was like two thousand exactly getting off
- 2:00:00Speaker 2: the board, twenty six years, a quarter century of shopping
- 2:00:04Speaker 2: card steps and this is actually then this falls into
- 2:00:06Speaker 2: one of those really odd show stats that I think
- 2:00:09Speaker 2: is fascinating. It's these shows that have massive cultural impact
- 2:00:14Speaker 2: that really weren't on the air that long, you know,
- 2:00:17Speaker 2: like Star Trek wasn't on the air that long three years,
- 2:00:20Speaker 2: massive Jackass three seasons really well, then they went movies
- 2:00:24Speaker 2: and then they did started doing movies. But it's massive
- 2:00:26Speaker 2: cultural impact with very very little really shelf life. That's
- 2:00:31Speaker 2: just one topic on tonight's episode one hundred and ten
- 2:00:34Speaker 2: of Good Sauce, which is available on all podcast platforms
- 2:00:37Speaker 2: and broadcasts right here at your favorite radio station tonight
- 2:00:40Speaker 2: at eight o'clock. Another topic that we have, and I'll
- 2:00:43Speaker 2: make this one short. I'm so excited to do gigs
- 2:00:45Speaker 2: at the Villages. You can still get tickets at Ross
- 2:00:48Speaker 2: County dot com this weekend. You've already told them, right.
- 2:00:50Speaker 2: The main reason why is because I don't think I
- 2:00:53Speaker 2: have to worry about telling the same joke over again. Fire,
- 2:01:00Speaker 2: move it on, that's fire. I love the Villages, man.
- 2:01:03Speaker 2: And here's the thing about the Villages. People think that like, oh,
- 2:01:06Speaker 2: they can't take a joke, No, just have some tact
- 2:01:10Speaker 2: they can take a joke. In fact, I think they
- 2:01:12Speaker 2: actually kind of like the jokes. I think they're a
- 2:01:14Speaker 2: little played out over the whole loof of thing.
- 2:01:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:01:17Speaker 2: Course I know about the secrets. I know what happens
- 2:01:20Speaker 2: over at Big City Fire. You know the spot, I
- 2:01:22Speaker 2: know the spots. I know the spots.
- 2:01:23Speaker 5: And one of the biggest topics that happens and this
- 2:01:26Speaker 5: is actually combined out of the two. I'll do this
- 2:01:30Speaker 5: just to wrap up the segment, is that my wife
- 2:01:33Speaker 5: and I we've had a bedroom light go out four
- 2:01:37Speaker 5: years ago.
- 2:01:38Speaker 2: So you had it's like a little night light. It
- 2:01:41Speaker 2: is attached to the wall.
- 2:01:42Speaker 5: Okay, okay, right, so, like you know, we had to
- 2:01:45Speaker 5: do a lot of electrical wiring. She did a lot
- 2:01:49Speaker 5: of electrical wiring when she installed it. And she chose
- 2:01:53Speaker 5: the lamp and it's a very pretty lamp. And the
- 2:01:57Speaker 5: light bulb is behind like a glass casinge like, oh yeah,
- 2:02:00Speaker 5: like a frosted glass. Well, it went out one day.
- 2:02:05Speaker 5: I go to take off, all right, we got to
- 2:02:07Speaker 5: change the light bulb. Can't unscrew the thing. We can't
- 2:02:11Speaker 5: take off the frosted glass sphere part behind the light bulb.
- 2:02:17Speaker 5: Why because you.
- 2:02:19Speaker 2: Just can't unscrew it, Jim, I've tried it for years.
- 2:02:21Speaker 2: There's no way. I mean, there's no way. That's the case.
- 2:02:23Speaker 2: I try. There's no way. They'll design a land that
- 2:02:25Speaker 2: you can't. You can't change the ball. But then just
- 2:02:27Speaker 2: on defected all right? Are you on my wife's side?
- 2:02:30Speaker 7: Al Right?
- 2:02:31Speaker 2: It's affected like it left, it left without permission? Yeah,
- 2:02:39Speaker 2: got it get away from a commie leader.
- 2:02:41Speaker 5: Well, I'll tell you how it actually ends up being
- 2:02:44Speaker 5: defected as well, because I take it. We take it off,
- 2:02:49Speaker 5: and she takes it off the wall, all right, all right,
- 2:02:52Speaker 5: and then we try to unscrew it. Now, we're pulling
- 2:02:55Speaker 5: it from a different angle. The thing cracks we threw
- 2:02:59Speaker 5: the way. I couldn't fix it. We couldn't do it.
- 2:03:02Speaker 5: We couldn't change the damn light bulb. How many pageants
- 2:03:04Speaker 5: does it take to change the light bulb?
- 2:03:06Speaker 2: More than we know, more than two everybody in that
- 2:03:09Speaker 2: house except one.
- 2:03:10Speaker 5: Yeah, it was one of the most shameful things. We
- 2:03:14Speaker 5: bought a light Amazon over. It shows up like twenty
- 2:03:18Speaker 5: minutes later because one time to be alive.
- 2:03:21Speaker 2: They're literally sitting in your room waiting for you to choose.
- 2:03:23Speaker 5: I spent four years without this bedroom light. We got
- 2:03:27Speaker 5: it done within twenty four hours. And then when we
- 2:03:29Speaker 5: installed it, it took maybe eighteen minutes. Twenty minutes tops.
- 2:03:33Speaker 5: Four years without a bedroom light, all it took was
- 2:03:36Speaker 5: seventy bucks, Yeah, and eighteen minutes. And now I am
- 2:03:40Speaker 5: here to let you know. I'm trying to inspire the nation.
- 2:03:46Speaker 5: Everyone knows about those things. We all have those things.
- 2:03:50Speaker 5: We all have those things, the things that take several minutes.
- 2:03:54Speaker 5: But you haven't done it in years. It's all stressing
- 2:03:58Speaker 5: you out, always on the shoulder through men. It's been dirty.
- 2:04:01Speaker 5: I haven't washed it. Yeah, you can toss it in
- 2:04:04Speaker 5: I believe in you. This one goes out to all
- 2:04:08Speaker 5: the mundane activities that make your ass breakout in hives,
- 2:04:12Speaker 5: that only take sometimes sixty to ninety seconds to do.
- 2:04:17Speaker 5: I want to tell all of our listeners that laundry
- 2:04:21Speaker 5: load that you haven't put away, and it's back in June,
- 2:04:25Speaker 5: all right, and guess what it's may all right, that
- 2:04:30Speaker 5: last It's time to put it away. It's time to
- 2:04:34Speaker 5: throw away that old jar of mayonnaise that keeps staring
- 2:04:36Speaker 5: at you. You don't have to recycle it, break the rules,
- 2:04:40Speaker 5: just throw it away. You don't have to go ahead
- 2:04:44Speaker 5: and live the rest of your year with only three
- 2:04:48Speaker 5: walls painted.
- 2:04:50Speaker 2: You can paint that fourth wall. Pain it, paint it,
- 2:04:53Speaker 2: just paint it. To all the things that take ninety seconds,
- 2:04:58Speaker 2: that take ten years, some.
- 2:05:00Speaker 5: Mental real estate, this is our time. Crush that thing.
- 2:05:05Speaker 5: Do that fixed out one light? That one light bulb
- 2:05:07Speaker 5: that needs replacing in the closet.
- 2:05:09Speaker 2: Dude, you've got women standing on desks like dead poets
- 2:05:13Speaker 2: society right now, real fick captain, my captain, what are
- 2:05:16Speaker 2: the do you guys have any off rip? Do you
- 2:05:19Speaker 2: have any did Debora and I have a conversation about
- 2:05:21Speaker 2: this before the show today.
- 2:05:22Speaker 5: Well, we have inspirational music. Share it, say it passionately?
- 2:05:24Speaker 5: What are what are the things you're gonna do tonight?
- 2:05:26Speaker 5: That takes one minute?
- 2:05:28Speaker 2: But it's been not needed. You haven't done it in years?
- 2:05:30Speaker 2: What did I say today?
- 2:05:31Speaker 7: Deb?
- 2:05:31Speaker 2: I did? I fixed the dishwasher today? It was broken?
- 2:05:35Speaker 2: How when my wife's suitcase was on the floor since
- 2:05:38Speaker 2: you came back last week just sitting there? Oh? And
- 2:05:41Speaker 2: how long did it take to put away?
- 2:05:42Speaker 14: No?
- 2:05:42Speaker 2: I didn't know. That's your goal tonight? Dev what's your
- 2:05:46Speaker 2: mundane thing? You got this? Believe in yourself.
- 2:05:49Speaker 6: I'm gonna move some boxes.
- 2:05:51Speaker 2: Okay, first we're gonna buy boxes, and then guess what
- 2:05:54Speaker 2: we're gonna move those suckers. Yeah, we're gonna move them. Jack,
- 2:05:57Speaker 2: what's your mundane thing? I have a closet door that
- 2:06:00Speaker 2: I've been needing to paint for about eight or ten years.
- 2:06:04Speaker 2: Paint that door, Jack, paint that door. Door, Paint that door.
- 2:06:10Speaker 6: Why does it sound like takaint that door?
- 2:06:14Speaker 2: Paint that taint? Oh? Sorry, ain't the tint that show title?
- 2:06:20Speaker 5: Pet's our show title? And those are your ross thoughts?
- 2:06:23Speaker 5: Find that mundane thing and conquer it.
- 2:06:25Speaker 2: Conqueration, conquer that mundane activity that takes such a small
- 2:06:29Speaker 2: amount of time and it's always taken six years. Those
- 2:06:32Speaker 2: are your ross stots. Thank you, mode Win, I'm out
- 2:06:35Speaker 2: peace all right four O seven nine text seven seven
- 2:06:39Speaker 2: zero three one back in a second more than Jim
- 2:06:40Speaker 2: cover show.
- 2:06:41Speaker 27: You did fine, Big John checking in what's good fam?
- 2:06:45Speaker 27: Hopefully everybody's doing good. Yeah, as you were speaking of
- 2:06:50Speaker 27: the segment, I noticed one picture on the wall was
- 2:06:55Speaker 27: slightly off kilter. So I just grabbed the level and
- 2:06:59Speaker 27: uh I only did that one picture, but I proceeded
- 2:07:03Speaker 27: to do every other picture and then you know, everything's
- 2:07:06Speaker 27: good now.
- 2:07:07Speaker 8: So oh this is also after doing a nice fat
- 2:07:09Speaker 8: bomb rip.
- 2:07:10Speaker 2: So okay, very I love this guy great.
- 2:07:13Speaker 28: On yesterday's topic about paddles. When I was in elementry,
- 2:07:19Speaker 28: my dad made paddles for my teachers and the principal,
- 2:07:25Speaker 28: and yes, I got in fights every day after school.
- 2:07:31Speaker 8: All right, man, y'all be cool, be cool show.
- 2:07:33Speaker 2: Thank you, buddy, appreciate it very much.
- 2:07:36Speaker 12: Hey, Colbert Shoe, I have a question about the Yachtlee cruise.
- 2:07:40Speaker 6: When you say that Jack.
- 2:07:42Speaker 12: And Naomi are recording a live Captain's log radio, is
- 2:07:46Speaker 12: it going to be performed live on Real Radio one
- 2:07:49Speaker 12: oh four point one at the same time that we
- 2:07:52Speaker 12: are all out there on the river ship.
- 2:07:55Speaker 3: Just curious.
- 2:07:56Speaker 2: Thanks, love you bye. Oh by the way, first things first,
- 2:07:59Speaker 2: thanks for signing up and coming with us. It's gonna
- 2:08:01Speaker 2: be an absolute blast. Yes, uh no, it will not
- 2:08:03Speaker 2: be broadcasting them because it's on a Saturday in the
- 2:08:06Speaker 2: uh in the afternoon. Yeah, our cruise is from six
- 2:08:09Speaker 2: to nine Saturday night. We're recording it there live in
- 2:08:12Speaker 2: front of the audience. Then I have to go home. Yeah,
- 2:08:15Speaker 2: and edited it so it plays at eight am the
- 2:08:18Speaker 2: next morning. But it's gonna be live and it's Is
- 2:08:21Speaker 2: this the first time you've ever done live?
- 2:08:23Speaker 7: Uh?
- 2:08:24Speaker 2: You record it in front of an audience from the audience.
- 2:08:26Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 2:08:27Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 2:08:27Speaker 2: When we recorded on the cruise ship, we were sitting
- 2:08:30Speaker 2: just like on the the deck that goes around. We're
- 2:08:32Speaker 2: just sitting inside. Occasionally people would walk by, you know,
- 2:08:35Speaker 2: we're just doing it. I did that. I did that
- 2:08:37Speaker 2: for a Prime Time Kitchen once, and I did that
- 2:08:39Speaker 2: on a Tom and Dan cruise and they did them.
- 2:08:42Speaker 2: They did a podcast and I sat on their podcast
- 2:08:44Speaker 2: and they just did it on the pool deck. Yeah,
- 2:08:46Speaker 2: out there with a little thing, a little little podcasting.
- 2:08:48Speaker 2: All right, welcome back to the Jim Colbert Show. I'm Jim.
- 2:08:50Speaker 2: There's deb Jack and Ross as well. A no, so
- 2:08:56Speaker 2: let me ask you a question. We've already we've already
- 2:08:58Speaker 2: established the worst people in the world are. Thank you
- 2:09:01Speaker 2: very much. I appreciate that very much. I saw this
- 2:09:03Speaker 2: on Reddit today. Do you guys believe that there is
- 2:09:07Speaker 2: a certain name that comes with a certain personality trait? Yes, Karen, Yeah, right,
- 2:09:14Speaker 2: And that's the perfect example. Right when you say Karen,
- 2:09:17Speaker 2: everybody automatically knows that you're talking about an entitled, white
- 2:09:21Speaker 2: girl with short hair who wants to see the manager immediately. Right,
- 2:09:26Speaker 2: That's that's the Karen. Do you ever think about that,
- 2:09:29Speaker 2: like for names that are happening now, because on Reddit
- 2:09:32Speaker 2: they asked teachers to tell what they thought the worst
- 2:09:36Speaker 2: names for kids were, and Buddy, they had opinions. Oh wow,
- 2:09:41Speaker 2: it says here. I worked with school age kids for
- 2:09:44Speaker 2: about fifteen years, and every Jackson was a nightmare. But
- 2:09:48Speaker 2: the Jackson had to be spelled ja x o n.
- 2:09:52Speaker 2: Any she said, anybody with the name Jackson that is
- 2:09:56Speaker 2: spelled ja xo n was a complete nightmare because we
- 2:09:59Speaker 2: have Jackson sons of two of our co works. Sure do. Yeah, yeah.
- 2:10:03Speaker 2: And I got a friend this guy, one named Jackson.
- 2:10:06Speaker 2: The other one said that every Crystal I met was
- 2:10:08Speaker 2: a complete bitch, no matter how you spelled it. I
- 2:10:17Speaker 2: just found this so interesting. It says any Caden, Braden, Jaden,
- 2:10:21Speaker 2: or Aiden complete douchebag. Oh wow, Actually they say absolutely
- 2:10:26Speaker 2: little effing c words. Oh wow, that's what they say.
- 2:10:29Speaker 2: Oh let's see, all right, they did not hold back.
- 2:10:33Speaker 2: Then they gave the school year. Man, they're about to
- 2:10:35Speaker 2: lose their mind.
- 2:10:35Speaker 7: Look.
- 2:10:36Speaker 2: Then a teacher checks it and says, well, I've got
- 2:10:37Speaker 2: some good ones here. Everybody's negative and says I've never
- 2:10:40Speaker 2: had a bad Ethan Levi, Avery or Elizabeth, and I've
- 2:10:44Speaker 2: been teaching since two thousand and nine, and every person
- 2:10:47Speaker 2: that has that name is a pretty good person. All right,
- 2:10:52Speaker 2: Guys named Cody, never again, that's what you said, Guys
- 2:10:57Speaker 2: named Cody with a K, K O D y okay,
- 2:11:01Speaker 2: never again? And so weird.
- 2:11:02Speaker 5: You're touching on something that I find very fascinating because
- 2:11:06Speaker 5: obviously your name doesn't make you. It does not, But
- 2:11:11Speaker 5: that doesn't mean anything about the relationship that the rest
- 2:11:15Speaker 5: of the world has with Damian.
- 2:11:17Speaker 2: Yeah, right, exactly right, exactly dude.
- 2:11:20Speaker 5: So Adolph, So that is going to make an impact,
- 2:11:25Speaker 5: whether pro or con, in your existence to a certain degree.
- 2:11:30Speaker 5: If you go to one hundred job interviews with the
- 2:11:32Speaker 5: name Damian versus one hundred interviews with the name Chris.
- 2:11:37Speaker 2: Right, it's gonna be way different, isn't it.
- 2:11:38Speaker 5: It's gotta be pro Chris out of one hundred interviews,
- 2:11:42Speaker 5: you are.
- 2:11:42Speaker 2: Thousand percent right, dude, it has to be. Somebody just
- 2:11:45Speaker 2: texted and said, I can speak for the Kyle's out there.
- 2:11:47Speaker 2: It sucks. In other words, being named Kyle sucks. I'm
- 2:11:50Speaker 2: not I I am here to defend Karen's. I feel
- 2:11:54Speaker 2: bad it's gotten a little out of control. I do.
- 2:11:56Speaker 2: I feel bad for Karen's as well. And do we
- 2:11:58Speaker 2: have a male counterpartner? Karen? Chad? Chad through this? And
- 2:12:02Speaker 2: Chad calls and complains every time you do this.
- 2:12:05Speaker 6: Sorry, Chad.
- 2:12:06Speaker 2: Tad won trivia this week. We got a Chad texting us.
- 2:12:10Speaker 2: It says I've never met a Tammy or a Tanya.
- 2:12:11Speaker 2: They had their s together. Wow. One lady says, I've
- 2:12:17Speaker 2: been teaching for a while, I know a lot of
- 2:12:18Speaker 2: bitch ass. Heathers guy said, I've never met an Austin
- 2:12:24Speaker 2: that was a total menace. Wasn't a total menace? I
- 2:12:28Speaker 2: found that interesting. And then one lady goes on and says,
- 2:12:32Speaker 2: I've never had a David Chris or our Eugene that
- 2:12:39Speaker 2: was a bad person. Agreed very much. So, yeah, interesting.
- 2:12:44Speaker 5: Because I can't imagine a Eugene being anything other than
- 2:12:48Speaker 5: like smart nerd.
- 2:12:50Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, like Eugene Levy.
- 2:12:52Speaker 2: Right, yeah, yeah, yeah. There's so weird thing with names
- 2:12:56Speaker 2: because people always say, you know, first impressions are everything, right, Well,
- 2:13:00Speaker 2: what more of a first impression do you get to
- 2:13:03Speaker 2: someone's subconscious other than your name?
- 2:13:05Speaker 3: Right?
- 2:13:06Speaker 2: Yeah, you're right. And the funny thing is is like, uh,
- 2:13:09Speaker 2: so I'm the only one that has a name, No,
- 2:13:11Speaker 2: maybe deb does. So you've been known your full name
- 2:13:15Speaker 2: is Deborah, right, yes, okay, but everybody knows you as
- 2:13:17Speaker 2: deb Were you ever called Debbie? Oh yeah, you were
- 2:13:20Speaker 2: called Debbie when you were young.
- 2:13:21Speaker 6: Jack didn't know my first name was actually Deborah until
- 2:13:24Speaker 6: I was looking.
- 2:13:25Speaker 2: First, g O, I see, and then Jack, you don't
- 2:13:26Speaker 2: have it's just Jack, Robert Bradchaw it was Jack, and
- 2:13:30Speaker 2: then you have Ross, right, Yeah, and what's your middle
- 2:13:32Speaker 2: name again? Quit Koit? Which is wild dude, It's weird,
- 2:13:36Speaker 2: sounds like a terrible dance. It's not good.
- 2:13:39Speaker 6: Yeah or something you need uh cream for.
- 2:13:41Speaker 2: Yeah, we are we good? You got one more in Niga.
- 2:13:44Speaker 5: I like ko I think you guys are somehow. So
- 2:13:48Speaker 5: here Jack's comment is the most offensive thing that was said.
- 2:13:51Speaker 5: I haven't think you should leave them alone. Oh no,
- 2:13:53Speaker 5: I'm in trouble.
- 2:13:54Speaker 2: I have a weird thing though. So here's a weird
- 2:13:56Speaker 2: thing for me, right, I have three options for my name,
- 2:14:00Speaker 2: jim Jimmy, James. Yeah right, No one calls me James.
- 2:14:04Speaker 2: Only people who read by driver's license call me James.
- 2:14:06Speaker 2: But the weird thing is certain people call me jim
- 2:14:09Speaker 2: but most people call me Jimmy. You don't call me Jimmy.
- 2:14:13Speaker 3: You're not.
- 2:14:15Speaker 2: Matter of fact, you too don't call me Jimmy. You
- 2:14:17Speaker 2: call me jim At Deborah calls me Jimmy. Well, and
- 2:14:21Speaker 2: all all the old Monster fans Jimmy. That's what I
- 2:14:24Speaker 2: was known as on the Monsters, so it was it's
- 2:14:26Speaker 2: always Jimmy. And for some reason, I've always thought and
- 2:14:29Speaker 2: I've always disliked that because it sounds young and it
- 2:14:33Speaker 2: just sounds like it just sounds like you can't take it,
- 2:14:35Speaker 2: Jimmy seriously.
- 2:14:37Speaker 6: And I felt the same way about a Debbie. Yeah,
- 2:14:39Speaker 6: I mean I would feel the same way as well.
- 2:14:40Speaker 6: I mean, you got to and you have the dessert
- 2:14:42Speaker 6: treat like Little Debbie's. I'm sure you heard that a
- 2:14:44Speaker 6: billion times you've done. I went still the sign from
- 2:14:47Speaker 6: the grocery seat. You're on my dorm room door. Little
- 2:14:51Speaker 6: Debbie has a snack for you.
- 2:14:56Speaker 5: Jack is thrown stones. Dude, your name is Jack. Yeah,
- 2:14:58Speaker 5: you got it the worst. You get one syllable dog.
- 2:15:02Speaker 2: It was a pain in the ass growing up because
- 2:15:04Speaker 2: of all the nursery rhymes. Right, But once I got
- 2:15:08Speaker 2: through that, then I was like, oh, I like it. Yeah,
- 2:15:11Speaker 2: So you didn't get any other version of Jack jokes
- 2:15:14Speaker 2: in middle school high school? Didn't you ever call you off?
- 2:15:17Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, a little of that, Yeah,
- 2:15:20Speaker 2: just a touch, yeah, just a touch of that.
- 2:15:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:15:22Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 2:15:23Speaker 6: We still get that on the texting service exactly right.
- 2:15:26Speaker 3: All right.
- 2:15:26Speaker 2: Oh, by the way, today was the last day of
- 2:15:28Speaker 2: school for Orange and Seminole calories. Tomorrow for Osciola, then
- 2:15:33Speaker 2: Friday for Lake and Brevard and maybe Volusia as well.
- 2:15:36Speaker 6: And by the way, one real quick thing I wanted
- 2:15:38Speaker 6: to let you know. Ross that quoit as a masculine name,
- 2:15:43Speaker 6: it is sometimes used as a nature inspired name meaning woods,
- 2:15:47Speaker 6: or as a name with roots and cavalarian philosophy, symbolizing
- 2:15:51Speaker 6: idealism and a strong desire to serve or help others.
- 2:15:55Speaker 2: That's probably what your mom meant. That's probably what her
- 2:16:00Speaker 2: mother met when she chose quite, that's probably exactly what
- 2:16:02Speaker 2: she read. I want something that represents him in this way. No,
- 2:16:07Speaker 2: there's no chance that my mom, Yeah, there's no chance
- 2:16:09Speaker 2: at all. Matter of fact, she probably doesn't know your
- 2:16:11Speaker 2: middle name. There's a very good chance she thinks you're
- 2:16:14Speaker 2: Chase's middle name. That is, it's a coin flip. I
- 2:16:17Speaker 2: don't know if she would remember my middle name right now.
- 2:16:19Speaker 2: I have no idea. She hasn't heard that word in
- 2:16:22Speaker 2: such a long time. I got to call her and
- 2:16:24Speaker 2: ask her that. It's funny I was talking about when
- 2:16:26Speaker 2: I was playing Faia's the other day. I asked him
- 2:16:28Speaker 2: what his middle name was you were playing golf with? Right, Yeah,
- 2:16:33Speaker 2: I guess I have to spell that out. Okay, that's fine,
- 2:16:36Speaker 2: And I said, I have a fascination with middle names.
- 2:16:38Speaker 2: I don't know what it is.
- 2:16:39Speaker 3: Uh.
- 2:16:40Speaker 2: And I asked him, I said, hey, do you have
- 2:16:41Speaker 2: a middle name? He goes, Nope, do not have a
- 2:16:42Speaker 2: middle name. And I said, is that a cultural thing?
- 2:16:45Speaker 2: And he said, not really, it's just that my mom
- 2:16:47Speaker 2: and dad didn't give me a middle name. Is that
- 2:16:49Speaker 2: simple culturally some people don't have I don't know about culturally. Yeah,
- 2:16:53Speaker 2: but I know a lot of people don't have middle names.
- 2:16:55Speaker 2: But I understand why you like middle names. Dude, you
- 2:16:57Speaker 2: have a man man of a middle name. You have
- 2:17:01Speaker 2: a goat middle name. Oh you think so? I think
- 2:17:03Speaker 2: yours's goat. No, it's mutual goat.
- 2:17:06Speaker 6: And it sounds like, well, his name is the goat
- 2:17:09Speaker 6: that served at your restaurant that.
- 2:17:11Speaker 2: I thought you didn't like his middle name. I do
- 2:17:14Speaker 2: like your middle name. It's unique. It just sounds dirty,
- 2:17:17Speaker 2: it does. It sounds like a sex yeah? Yeah, oh yeah,
- 2:17:21Speaker 2: it really is close to think about that. It's so
- 2:17:28Speaker 2: many show titles. It's just in us.
- 2:17:30Speaker 5: Away like real fast to Your middle name is Phil Perkins.
- 2:17:35Speaker 2: Is it plural or singular? It's plural Perkins, And I
- 2:17:38Speaker 2: don't know why there's only one actually there's three. My
- 2:17:41Speaker 2: grandfather and my dad both have the same exact name.
- 2:17:44Speaker 2: I'm the third.
- 2:17:45Speaker 5: Speaking of by the way of names and stuff is
- 2:17:48Speaker 5: that you should have seen my face when I opened
- 2:17:50Speaker 5: up Yahoo News and all of a sudden I hear
- 2:17:53Speaker 5: that Jim Colbert died.
- 2:17:54Speaker 2: Oh did you guys talk about that? Jim's namesake? When
- 2:18:00Speaker 2: it happened, I got a bunch of texts going asking
- 2:18:02Speaker 2: him I was related to him. Well, my first thought was, like,
- 2:18:05Speaker 2: my guy was bigger than I thought. Reporting No, it's
- 2:18:10Speaker 2: a different It's still funny to this day when I
- 2:18:11Speaker 2: go play at certain clubs, if the person running the
- 2:18:14Speaker 2: pro shop it is older, uh, they will immediately ask
- 2:18:18Speaker 2: me that question. If they're not that old, they won't know.
- 2:18:20Speaker 2: They won't remember a Jim Colbert. He never was a
- 2:18:22Speaker 2: like a great player. I mean he did win some
- 2:18:24Speaker 2: on tour, but but yeah, they will ask about that
- 2:18:27Speaker 2: a lot. He wound up like writing books about jack
- 2:18:29Speaker 2: blackjack becoming like a professional gambler or something, and then
- 2:18:32Speaker 2: he did some about the real estate stuff and golf
- 2:18:34Speaker 2: force design. I want man.
- 2:18:36Speaker 5: I once heard about like an experiment about like they
- 2:18:40Speaker 5: they had twins and then they named one the one
- 2:18:43Speaker 5: thing and then the other. But then even then you
- 2:18:45Speaker 5: still have personality in DNA. That's gonna be such a
- 2:18:48Speaker 5: huge factor in that person's life.
- 2:18:50Speaker 2: Is Chase has been lame? Also on it's William? What happened?
- 2:18:54Speaker 2: And then I'm one us away from Hey, what is
- 2:18:57Speaker 2: the co relation in your family? I mean, where does
- 2:19:00Speaker 2: that come from? I'm like a great grandpa that guy
- 2:19:02Speaker 2: is she's just trying to spell coyote.
- 2:19:03Speaker 5: Yeah, she just dropped a couple of vowels. I was
- 2:19:07Speaker 5: from a great grandfather who died in war.
- 2:19:09Speaker 2: You should know this because this honors him, and that
- 2:19:12Speaker 2: you that's how you keep his memory alive. Yeah, because
- 2:19:15Speaker 2: at one time, way down the road, you hopefully will
- 2:19:19Speaker 2: be lucky enough to have ofspring have Ross as they'll
- 2:19:23Speaker 2: have Ross as a middle name. Man, and they're gonna
- 2:19:25Speaker 2: be why do you spell it? I don't know. He
- 2:19:27Speaker 2: was an idiot. I don't know why. I don't know
- 2:19:30Speaker 2: why you spelled it like this. He chose to spell
- 2:19:32Speaker 2: it like this. Yeah, you're right, he's better than us.
- 2:19:34Speaker 5: I should show more respect to this guy I haven't
- 2:19:36Speaker 5: met yet. Forever will what is name? Or maybe you
- 2:19:40Speaker 5: wouldn't be here without him? Deborah and how much more
- 2:19:44Speaker 5: fifties can you get than Deborah? And oh my god,
- 2:19:47Speaker 5: what's your brother's middle name?
- 2:19:49Speaker 6: Anthony?
- 2:19:49Speaker 2: Anthony? Okay, very normal, quite so, My my, my, my
- 2:19:55Speaker 2: father in law's name. His middle name is Kern. K
- 2:19:58Speaker 2: I r in sounds and actually that's my son's middle
- 2:20:02Speaker 2: name as.
- 2:20:03Speaker 6: Well, sounds Norwegian.
- 2:20:04Speaker 2: He does, but he's not at all, although he kind
- 2:20:06Speaker 2: of looks like a Viking. The Wrath of Kern. Yeah. Uh.
- 2:20:11Speaker 2: I always thought this was fascinating.
- 2:20:13Speaker 5: And man, I don't want to make this too inflammatory,
- 2:20:15Speaker 5: but but I'm.
- 2:20:18Speaker 2: Again, but I will. But to me, this one.
- 2:20:20Speaker 5: The first time I heard this was and it was
- 2:20:22Speaker 5: being explained to me as an example of white privilege.
- 2:20:25Speaker 5: I'm there, I said it. I said the two trigger words,
- 2:20:27Speaker 5: buckle up. But it's my my best friend. He's Puerto
- 2:20:31Speaker 5: Rican and yes, they have darker skin tones. And his
- 2:20:35Speaker 5: parents knew what what they thought of Western society. They
- 2:20:40Speaker 5: had three boys, John, Eric, Mike. Oh wow, really, and
- 2:20:44Speaker 5: they went out of their way to name their kids
- 2:20:48Speaker 5: those stereotypical dude names, traditional white guy named. They went
- 2:20:53Speaker 5: out of their way because they were worried about what
- 2:20:56Speaker 5: their future may be in the jungle.
- 2:20:58Speaker 2: That is light. Damn, that's wild.
- 2:21:00Speaker 5: When I heard that, I had never I don't know,
- 2:21:03Speaker 5: it's just you don't know what you don't know. Yeah,
- 2:21:05Speaker 5: And then having that explained and I was pretty young,
- 2:21:08Speaker 5: and this is being told to me from the mom herself,
- 2:21:11Speaker 5: and it was just a jaw dropping moment. It was
- 2:21:14Speaker 5: a it was a cornerstone conversation for me. That gave
- 2:21:17Speaker 5: me a lot of understanding. I think to other families,
- 2:21:19Speaker 5: somebody just texting us that we know somebody that named
- 2:21:21Speaker 5: themselves at eight years old. And I guess that's a
- 2:21:23Speaker 5: little bit of a thing now with very progressive parents
- 2:21:26Speaker 5: that they will they will choose, they will choose a
- 2:21:30Speaker 5: like a neutral name to call the child until the
- 2:21:33Speaker 5: child's old enough to choose their own name.
- 2:21:35Speaker 2: I ain't no way you guys heard that, like Ken
- 2:21:39Speaker 2: or something? You have been Ken something like that. I
- 2:21:42Speaker 2: used to watch Zoom, Remember Zoom it was on PBS. Yeah,
- 2:21:45Speaker 2: and they all ran around, Hi, I'm you know, Michael, Hi,
- 2:21:48Speaker 2: I'm Ken, And they all had little name tags. And
- 2:21:51Speaker 2: I always imagine which name I would want. I think
- 2:21:53Speaker 2: my mom wanted me to be named Charles. So I
- 2:21:55Speaker 2: know exactly what you're Charles. Yeah, but my dad demanded
- 2:21:58Speaker 2: it would be after him because of the lineage. But
- 2:22:01Speaker 2: I think Charles was. I mean, my mom told me
- 2:22:03Speaker 2: that one time before she passed away.
- 2:22:04Speaker 5: I named my son Miles, but I was I'm still
- 2:22:07Speaker 5: terrified about One thing is that I think I may
- 2:22:09Speaker 5: have named him basically John in previous generations. That Miles
- 2:22:15Speaker 5: is a very It's it's like calling your kid your daughter, Caitlin. Yeah,
- 2:22:20Speaker 5: back in the day. All I know is that when
- 2:22:22Speaker 5: we did the research, if you look in the top
- 2:22:23Speaker 5: fifty names for when we were naming our kid, Miles
- 2:22:27Speaker 5: was up there twice due to the two spellings, but
- 2:22:29Speaker 5: they were both in the forties. So I still don't
- 2:22:32Speaker 5: know the math of Miles. If you add those numbers,
- 2:22:35Speaker 5: would it be a top ten most common.
- 2:22:37Speaker 2: Name, like m Y or am I?
- 2:22:38Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, so both m y and am I are
- 2:22:41Speaker 5: like forty third and forty eighth on popularity.
- 2:22:45Speaker 2: And we weren't. We didn't want the most popular name.
- 2:22:47Speaker 5: We love that name, but then we kind of find
- 2:22:49Speaker 5: out that we basically named him John Smith.
- 2:22:53Speaker 2: Well, yeah, there are many Larry's anymore. I mean, nobody
- 2:22:56Speaker 2: names their kid Lawrence anymore or anything like that all
- 2:22:58Speaker 2: those older names have died. I think female names are
- 2:23:01Speaker 2: the only names that have some throwbacks, like Charlotte and
- 2:23:04Speaker 2: Sophia and stuff like that. I mean those are old,
- 2:23:07Speaker 2: classic European names, and I don't think like boys in
- 2:23:10Speaker 2: America don't have that. It's all your Caden's and Jayden's
- 2:23:13Speaker 2: and and Jackson's and stuff like that.
- 2:23:15Speaker 3: Uh.
- 2:23:16Speaker 5: Do you know anything about the name before we go,
- 2:23:18Speaker 5: the name Jalen and the history of Jalen?
- 2:23:21Speaker 8: Uh?
- 2:23:21Speaker 5: No, have you heard anything about how Jalen Rose was
- 2:23:24Speaker 5: the first Jalen and now the NBA is like four
- 2:23:28Speaker 5: percent Jalen is that he inspired an entire generation of
- 2:23:33Speaker 5: families and the name Jalen with Michigan Fab five and
- 2:23:37Speaker 5: his NBA career, it's one of the most fascinating things
- 2:23:40Speaker 5: there's It's like more than half the teams right now
- 2:23:43Speaker 5: in the NBA have a Jalen on their rock.
- 2:23:45Speaker 2: One of the best players in the leagues of Jalen. Right, Yeah,
- 2:23:48Speaker 2: there's multiple teams with multiple Jalen's unbelievable. That's how you
- 2:23:52Speaker 2: speak with volleyball and Caitlyn. You yell at Caitlyn and
- 2:23:54Speaker 2: fifteen girls would turn arounds, all right, four to seven
- 2:23:57Speaker 2: nine one six four one. Depp got some news.
- 2:23:59Speaker 6: I have challenge former Attorney General Pam BONDI, when will
- 2:24:02Speaker 6: NASA announce the Artemis three crew and Knicks fans prepare
- 2:24:07Speaker 6: to shell out some really big bucks. We'll talk about
- 2:24:11Speaker 6: that next during you heard it here?
- 2:24:12Speaker 2: First take attle break. We'll come make and get Deb's
- 2:24:14Speaker 2: news and get the hell out of here on a Wednesday.
- 2:24:15Speaker 2: It everybody knows you don't let your children pick their
- 2:24:24Speaker 2: own names. Has anyone seen Big Daddy? That's how you
- 2:24:28Speaker 2: get Frankenstein's guys, That's how you get modern day Frankenstein's
- 2:24:31Speaker 2: children cannot pick their own names. Agreed.
- 2:24:35Speaker 14: I'm in no hurry to finish trimming out the window
- 2:24:39Speaker 14: in the master bathroom of the house that.
- 2:24:41Speaker 2: We built eight years ago.
- 2:24:43Speaker 14: Okay, the toilet, the sinks, the shower all work fine,
- 2:24:49Speaker 14: and that one piece of missing toe kick It just
- 2:24:53Speaker 14: makes it easier to get the broom under there.
- 2:24:58Speaker 2: Children. It's just a messing way. It's just a messing way.
- 2:25:07Speaker 2: Jim Culbert show.
- 2:25:09Speaker 26: My mother's name is Laverne. My grandmother's name is Elvira.
- 2:25:13Speaker 26: I have an aunt, Myrtle. Thank goodness, my mother named
- 2:25:18Speaker 26: me Susan and my sister Pam.

- 2:27:24Speaker 6: Ye love that Austin Powers throwback. The goal of the

- 2:27:48Speaker 2: Yeah then there since ninety nine.
- 2:27:50Speaker 6: So secondary market price ticket prices are exploding since the
- 2:27:54Speaker 6: team secured its first NBA Finals appearance, Like you said, Jimmy,
- 2:27:57Speaker 6: since nineteen ninety nine. In fact, to Games three and
- 2:28:01Speaker 6: four at Madison Square Garden are the most expensive NBA
- 2:28:05Speaker 6: Finals tickets on record, with the cheapest upper deck ticket
- 2:28:09Speaker 6: to Game three going for just over four grand five
- 2:28:13Speaker 6: hundred on stubhuck. Now, if you want two tickets court side,
- 2:28:18Speaker 6: be prepared to pay close to.
- 2:28:21Speaker 5: Sixty five thousand dollars. That's going to be more. I
- 2:28:23Speaker 5: think I'll go one hundred and ten thousand, Jack, all right,
- 2:28:29Speaker 5: that seems so stupid. I can't at fifty thousand, three
- 2:28:33Speaker 5: hundred grand. That's little wise. Stop this shop. Jeezuz, that's

- 2:29:54Speaker 2: that totally benefits off long lines at I think probably
- 2:29:59Speaker 2: of their busines, just because you can't get into Chick
- 2:30:01Speaker 2: fil A. It's been a couple of years, but the
