- 0:00Speaker 1: You came on my radar, like I would see a
- 0:01Speaker 1: lot of clips and stuff, and then I was talking
- 0:04Speaker 1: with Sketch, and he's like, bro, you got to meet
- 0:07Speaker 1: my friend J-Shock. He's like the greatest guy ever. He
- 0:09Speaker 1: thinks you're like, you know, he's like you're this marinara savior,
- 0:14Speaker 1: you know, this little, you know, he thinks you're this
- 0:17Speaker 1: new sort of angel of the world, you know.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Yeah. Did you see any clips of us in StreamerU? No.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Oh, dude, I saw the one. What's the one where
- 0:27Speaker 1: you guys, one of your shirts on? That one was crazy.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Oh, that was funny when we spin out the door.
- 0:31Speaker 2: So he was trying to teach me manners for my
- 0:35Speaker 2: homecoming date at prom or at homecoming. And I was
- 0:40Speaker 2: trying to get the door for him. And I did like, look.
- 0:42Speaker 1: This is so class.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Oh, dude. Then I did a spin, like a transition.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Look at this.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Right through. We had so many good moments together and it,
- 0:53Speaker 2: it all was so natural and real. And I told
- 0:55Speaker 2: like him and a lot of people, like if I
- 0:58Speaker 2: ever met big people, like, I don't know, celebrities like
- 1:01Speaker 2: Post Malone or I don't know, Jalen Hurts, I just
- 1:04Speaker 2: want to be friends. Like I want to be your friend.
- 1:06Speaker 2: You know, I don't care about the cameras or publicity,
- 1:09Speaker 2: the following. I just, I want to build good friendships.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:12Speaker 2: And sketch to me is like, my brother literally we
- 1:15Speaker 2: we connected such a good way and he was the
- 1:17Speaker 2: realest person at that school.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Oh dude he's just yeah he's a special guy man
- 1:22Speaker 1: he's one of the few guys that'll just call and
- 1:23Speaker 1: like check on me every now and then yeah just
- 1:25Speaker 1: kind of see what's going on he's got a big
- 1:26Speaker 1: heart yes sir yeah i just saw him a few
- 1:28Speaker 1: weeks ago bro i love oh yeah people made this
- 1:32Speaker 1: who made this uh my.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Clipper danny he's like my stream manager one of my
- 1:35Speaker 2: best friends and He made that instantly because it was
- 1:39Speaker 2: Sketch's idea to make that pose, and we actually turned
- 1:41Speaker 2: it into a T-shirt.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Oh, it's beautiful.
- 1:43Speaker 2: It's funny as hell.
- 1:44Speaker 1: God, it's beautiful. Two young fellas out there just learning
- 1:48Speaker 1: how their bodies work, just spreading their manicotti out into
- 1:52Speaker 1: the world.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Hey, if they're doing a sequel, you guys should have
- 1:55Speaker 2: got it.
- 1:55Speaker 1: You would do it. Oh, it would be perfect, man.
- 1:57Speaker 1: You could make your own. I mean, that's the thing
- 1:59Speaker 1: now with streaming or with taking clips from streams. It's
- 2:02Speaker 1: just like a moment. these days is almost like a
- 2:05Speaker 1: whole movie.
- 2:06Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying, yeah.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Was 20 years ago. So take us on what is StreamerU,
- 2:11Speaker 1: and then how do you audition for StreamerU? Take us
- 2:16Speaker 1: first up for our listeners that don't know, what is StreamerU?
- 2:19Speaker 2: So there's 7 million applicants, I believe, maybe more or less,
- 2:24Speaker 2: around there. There was in-person audition that I didn't want
- 2:27Speaker 2: to go to, and then there was online where you
- 2:29Speaker 2: submit a video. I didn't want to go.
- 2:33Speaker 1: You submit video to what?
- 2:35Speaker 2: To get into the school.
- 2:36Speaker 1: And what is the school? I'm just saying, like.
- 2:39Speaker 2: It's a school full of content creators and streamers.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Okay, got it. Yeah.
- 2:43Speaker 2: It's run by Kai Sinat.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Okay.
- 2:45Speaker 2: And his team. And it's just a really crazy opportunity
- 2:50Speaker 2: that could change your life, could change mine. And you
- 2:53Speaker 2: learn about... It's a literal school. It was in Arkansas
- 2:56Speaker 2: this year. And you learn, like, different tactics on how
- 3:00Speaker 2: to grow, how to get better equipment. how to learn about, like,
- 3:03Speaker 2: how to deal with the stress. There was all different clubs,
- 3:05Speaker 2: like Lizzo with a teacher, Adapt, Ludwig. Like, there was
- 3:08Speaker 2: all these cool teachers that are big content creators. And
- 3:11Speaker 2: then you're surrounded by, like, 120 creators. So you're in
- 3:14Speaker 2: a cafeteria, for example, when all the streamers are eating
- 3:18Speaker 2: lunch and everyone's live streaming.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Oh, it seems crazy, bro. It seems like a bunch
- 3:22Speaker 1: of people just trying to catch each other saying the
- 3:24Speaker 1: N-word is what it seems like.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like all clip-forming. But anyway, like, I wasn't
- 3:28Speaker 2: going to apply, you know. Like, I filmed a shitty
- 3:30Speaker 2: video because I didn't care. And my boy Jacob, my editor,
- 3:34Speaker 2: one of my best friends, was like, you've got to apply.
- 3:37Speaker 2: You've got to try. So I filmed the video two
- 3:40Speaker 2: days before Father's Day, edited it, and then we put
- 3:44Speaker 2: it out, submitted it an hour before applications closed with
- 3:49Speaker 2: my cameraman, my old cameraman. I fired him. I saw that.
- 3:55Speaker 2: I fired him at Schumer University. I don't want to
- 3:57Speaker 2: put dirt on him.
- 3:57Speaker 1: We're not going to get into it.
- 4:01Speaker 2: We got in.
- 4:02Speaker 1: You sent the audition video in. How long is the
- 4:04Speaker 1: audition video?
- 4:06Speaker 2: How long was it? A minute and a half.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Let's watch it right now. We'll watch it right here.
- 4:14Speaker 2: I'm screaming. I gotta go. I gotta go. Oh, fuck me.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Jarvis, take me to the best food spot on Long Island. Yes, Mr.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Shock, would you like me to invite Sophie? Negative!
- 4:32Speaker 1: Let Dean Sinat know I'm on the way!
- 4:35Speaker 2: Hey, Dean Sinat, I'm Jay Shock, and if I'm accepted,
- 4:38Speaker 2: you know I'm bringing pizza. Here's a few reasons why
- 4:40Speaker 2: I should be accepted. Number one, I quit my job
- 4:44Speaker 2: to do social media full-time, and since then, I've grown
- 4:46Speaker 2: my page to over two million followers. And I'm not stopping! Mmm,
- 4:50Speaker 2: so good. Number two, I never give up. Growing up,
- 4:53Speaker 2: I went through a lot medically, physically, emotionally, and a
- 4:56Speaker 2: lot of people told me I was never gonna be
- 4:58Speaker 2: able to do what I wanted to do, and that's
- 4:59Speaker 2: create content. You're too small. You don't have the right look. Well,
- 5:02Speaker 2: guess what? I'm doing it right now. Just over a
- 5:04Speaker 2: couple years ago, I had to get corrective jaw surgery.
- 5:06Speaker 2: They had to break my top and bottom jaw to
- 5:08Speaker 2: realign it so I could get new teeth. I was
- 5:10Speaker 2: doing food reviews with no teeth. I was gumming it down.
- 5:14Speaker 2: And through all that, I'm still mucking, and I'm gonna
- 5:17Speaker 2: teach you guys how to muck. That sauce is crazy.
- 5:21Speaker 2: And number three. Just like these slices, I offer variety.
- 5:26Speaker 2: I do food reviews, daily gaming streams, and I've helped
- 5:28Speaker 2: dozens of businesses across the country. Sometimes there's a line
- 5:31Speaker 2: out the door. Thanks to you, Shock Squad. And oh yeah,
- 5:34Speaker 2: that beat you heard throughout the whole video, I made
- 5:36Speaker 2: that too.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Shock Squad.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Right? And lastly, I want to bring food and streaming
- 5:43Speaker 2: together like no one ever has. I'm ready to shock
- 5:46Speaker 2: the world. Are you?
- 5:47Speaker 1: Let's go. she was banging right dude that's so perfect
- 5:50Speaker 1: bro what a great video you made and so what
- 5:54Speaker 1: what what advice would you give to people who want
- 5:55Speaker 1: to make a video to submit for streamer you uh have.
- 5:59Speaker 2: A good hook the first two to three seconds gotta
- 6:01Speaker 2: be very engaging gotta be something different gotta be something
- 6:05Speaker 2: a little bit like relatable a little bit sus like
- 6:09Speaker 2: something that like sticks out and then you gotta have
- 6:11Speaker 2: a good like pacing so like the flow of the
- 6:13Speaker 2: video like maybe like you doze off for like a
- 6:16Speaker 2: little second, but like I engage with you that whole video.
- 6:18Speaker 2: I kept your attention. That's what's so important about content
- 6:21Speaker 2: is you got to remain retention. That's why when you're scrolling,
- 6:24Speaker 2: these apps got to keep you on your platform. But
- 6:27Speaker 2: the longer you look at a video, the more the
- 6:31Speaker 2: Instagram or TikTok will push that video in the algorithm
- 6:33Speaker 2: because they like to see eyes being on something for longer,
- 6:38Speaker 2: you know? So just, you know, and be yourself, have
- 6:40Speaker 2: fun with it.
- 6:41Speaker 1: What do you want people to take away from your content?
- 6:45Speaker 2: Just to be weird, you know, just have fun, be yourself,
- 6:50Speaker 2: shock the world, you know, and just do what you love.
- 6:52Speaker 2: Because I feel like everyone is unique and everyone's like, oh,
- 6:56Speaker 2: you look different, you're different, you know. Why don't you
- 6:58Speaker 2: look like me? Why don't you have facial hair? Why
- 7:00Speaker 2: are you so small? I'm like, because I'm unique. Everyone
- 7:04Speaker 2: has a cool story to tell and you should monetize
- 7:07Speaker 2: your life, you know. Because me waking up in the morning,
- 7:11Speaker 2: brushing my teeth can be different than you, you know.
- 7:14Speaker 2: Me putting my shoes on, People can put a shoe
- 7:16Speaker 2: on to no foot at all. Like me wearing different
- 7:19Speaker 2: clothes than you in the morning. Like everyone has some
- 7:22Speaker 2: kind of uniqueness to them, you know? I like to
- 7:24Speaker 2: say like, I have a quote here. It's my yearbook
- 7:28Speaker 2: quote for Schumer University.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Yeah, let's check it out.
- 7:32Speaker 2: And I said for the yearbook, I said, okay, ready?
- 7:39Speaker 2: Don't let your disability define you. Use it as your
- 7:43Speaker 2: ability to achieve greatness and shock the world.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Man bro that's.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Real talk like I never let my disabilities get into
- 7:51Speaker 2: my head define me I use them to my ability
- 7:53Speaker 2: to achieve greatness.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Yeah yeah man cause we're all we have you know
- 7:59Speaker 1: our experiences are what we have you know they're the
- 8:01Speaker 1: ingredients that make us you.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Know in that video you know getting accepted at 1.30am
- 8:06Speaker 2: I was screaming and he called my name like my
- 8:08Speaker 2: reaction is insane.
- 8:10Speaker 1: How so what was that you're just watching the announcements
- 8:14Speaker 1: and how many does he choose 121. Out of how many?
- 8:18Speaker 2: Out of 7 million. Isn't that crazy?
- 8:21Speaker 1: Crazy.
- 8:22Speaker 2: It changed my life. I wouldn't be here talking to
- 8:24Speaker 2: someone as amazing as you if it wasn't for this
- 8:26Speaker 2: opportunity by Kai. I mean, it's crazy. And while I
- 8:30Speaker 2: was there, I was making so many viral moments. Because
- 8:33Speaker 2: people knew me, but they didn't know, like, oh, this
- 8:35Speaker 2: is what he does. This is the real side of him.
- 8:37Speaker 2: It was 24-7 live stream. And if you really think
- 8:40Speaker 2: about it, remember when I was telling you When I
- 8:42Speaker 2: was in the hospital and I thought people were watching
- 8:44Speaker 2: me live stream, recording me.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Now they were.
- 8:46Speaker 2: Full circle. I know. It happened.
- 8:49Speaker 1: So bizarre.
- 8:49Speaker 2: But this time it happened for real.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Let's go.
- 8:51Speaker 2: I mean, I think they can make a movie out
- 8:54Speaker 2: of my life because it's so, it's crazy.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Who would play you? Who would play you in the
- 8:58Speaker 1: movie you think?
- 8:59Speaker 2: I want to play myself.
- 9:00Speaker 1: What if they won't allow it?
- 9:02Speaker 2: Who do you think could play me? Nobody looks like me.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Freddie Prince Jr. Maybe.
- 9:09Speaker 2: Who's that? He's an actor.
- 9:10Speaker 1: I got to see a picture. He might be too
- 9:13Speaker 1: old now. Let me think.
- 9:15Speaker 2: DJ Khaled?
- 9:17Speaker 1: Maybe one of DJ Khaled's kids. Peter Manfredo Jr., maybe.
- 9:24Speaker 1: He was a boxer.
- 9:25Speaker 2: I don't even know. Nobody really looks like me, you know?
- 9:29Speaker 1: Yeah, you're right. I mean, yeah, you're unique.
- 9:32Speaker 2: So it would be hard.
- 9:33Speaker 1: Yeah. I'm trying to think. But you have to have
- 9:34Speaker 1: a kid. You have to be a child of one
- 9:36Speaker 1: of those people.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Because you have to play you starting young. I don't know, maybe.
- 9:41Speaker 1: I'm trying to think who else. Who could play you, man?
- 9:47Speaker 2: Post Malone.
- 9:49Speaker 1: Yeah, Postal.
- 9:50Speaker 2: He's got tattoos.
- 9:51Speaker 1: What about United States Postal Malone?
- 9:54Speaker 2: Get like a post office worker.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Yeah, that's who we need.
- 9:58Speaker 2: Maybe you could play me. Dude, I.
- 10:00Speaker 1: I'd be honored.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Just shave your head?
- 10:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I'd shave my head, shave my nuts.
- 10:06Speaker 2: A jungle down there.
- 10:08Speaker 1: I mean, it's not a jungle, but I'll say this,
- 10:10Speaker 1: there's been a little bit of... Oh, there's been a
- 10:12Speaker 1: little reforestation probably. Yeah, I think we probably need signs
- 10:16Speaker 1: to know where the trails are. That's all I'm saying.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Oh, man.
- 10:21Speaker 1: How long does the streamer U last, the actual university?
- 10:24Speaker 2: Five days, I think.
- 10:24Speaker 1: It's five days. And you guys are all put up
- 10:26Speaker 1: on this campus, wherever you are. And do you actually graduate?
- 10:32Speaker 2: It wasn't really a graduation ceremony, no. Half the people
- 10:36Speaker 2: didn't go to classes. Oh, really? No, I went to
- 10:38Speaker 2: every class because I wanted to learn. But, like, there was, like,
- 10:41Speaker 2: an awards ceremony. I didn't win. And there was, like,
- 10:46Speaker 2: all the different activities and clubs. Like it was, it
- 10:48Speaker 2: was like a real school. It was crazy.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:51Speaker 2: It was really cool.
- 10:52Speaker 1: That's so cool.
- 10:53Speaker 2: And the fact that people like live stream it 24 seven,
- 10:56Speaker 2: people watch me sleep at night. Yeah.
- 10:59Speaker 1: And those people should be investigated.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:02Speaker 1: You know, watching somebody else sleep.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Imagine I started like cranking it. Oh yeah. It would've
- 11:09Speaker 2: been terrible.
- 11:10Speaker 1: If you were somebody like who's sleep, like.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Or sleep walk or sleep eat.
- 11:14Speaker 1: Or sleep jerk.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Or sleep, Like, with another girl? Like, I would have
- 11:18Speaker 2: been like, I would have forgot to turn the camera off.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Or sleep fat or whatever. What did you say? Sleep jerk?
- 11:22Speaker 1: Sleep fat. If somebody's masturbating in their sleep. People do
- 11:25Speaker 1: that all the time. My uncle used to jerk off
- 11:27Speaker 1: in his sleep and they had to tie jingle bells
- 11:29Speaker 1: on his wrist so you'd hear him. So you'd hear
- 11:31Speaker 1: him when he was doing it.
- 11:33Speaker 2: I don't do any of that shit, bro. It doesn't
- 11:35Speaker 2: work out.
- 11:35Speaker 1: It's heartbreaking. Well, if you do, I got a set
- 11:37Speaker 1: of bells you can wear if you do. Just, you
- 11:39Speaker 1: know what I'm saying?
- 11:40Speaker 2: Unbelievable.
- 11:41Speaker 1: You got to take care. You just got to let
- 11:43Speaker 1: people around you know what's going on, I think.
