- 0:44Speaker 3: Radio and not television that you can hear us, but
- 0:48Speaker 3: you can't see us. With SCA River and a few
- 0:54Speaker 3: people knew what we did to get on the air
- 0:56Speaker 3: and and maybe play a few commercials and a show today,
- 1:02Speaker 3: you would be very impressed. This portion of the program
- 1:06Speaker 3: brought to you by Central Texas Sports Medicine.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Coming up, we're gonna hear from Bucky. Scott Clindennon is here.
- 1:13Speaker 1: He has at least one major topic that I know about.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Mallory is here with some entertainment news, so we've got
- 1:23Speaker 1: all that going for you, which is nice. Aggie. Basketball
- 1:27Speaker 1: tonight is at eight o'clock against Mississippi State out at
- 1:33Speaker 1: Reed Arena. The Bulldogs ten and eight overall, two and
- 1:38Speaker 1: three in the league. They come in with a three
- 1:40Speaker 1: game losing streak, so they're pretty desperate. An M has
- 1:48Speaker 1: one four out of five. They are four and one
- 1:51Speaker 1: in league play, and I would like to continue that.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Last night, Florida improved to five and one with a
- 2:04Speaker 1: win over LSU. Vanderbilt suffered their third straight league loss.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Arkansas is now four and two in league play. Auburn
- 2:17Speaker 1: went down to the wire and Georgia won, not quite
- 2:25Speaker 1: at the buzzer, but they went to Missouri and got
- 2:28Speaker 1: a big win. The Bulldogs are also four and two
- 2:31Speaker 1: besides A and M and Mississippi State this evening. The
- 2:35Speaker 1: early game on the SEC network is Texas at Kentucky,
- 2:41Speaker 1: and we're not sure which either of those teams will
- 2:45Speaker 1: show up this evening. The Fighting Buzz Williams and Maryland
- 2:51Speaker 1: visits Illinois, which is ranked eleven. Notre Dame in North Carolina,
- 2:55Speaker 1: Cincinnati's at number one, Arizona undefeated, nebrass is hosting Washington,
- 3:02Speaker 1: and number eight Gonzaga is hosting Pepperdine tonight. In basketball,
- 3:08Speaker 1: So some weird things are happening. Charles Beediaco has been
- 3:12Speaker 1: granted a temporary restraining order and he has been playing
- 3:17Speaker 1: in the G League. He has signed multiple NBA contracts,
- 3:23Speaker 1: but Alabama found a CIRCA judge who would overturn that
- 3:29Speaker 1: grant a temporary restraining order and allow Betiaco to play
- 3:35Speaker 1: immediately for an Alabama team that has been up and down.
- 3:41Speaker 1: The nc double A released the statement saying these attempts
- 3:45Speaker 1: to sidestep in C DOUBLEA rules and recruit individuals who
- 3:49Speaker 1: have finished their time in college or signed NBA contracts
- 3:53Speaker 1: are taking away opportunities from high school students. A judge
- 3:58Speaker 1: ordering the NCUBLEA let a former NBA player take the
- 4:02Speaker 1: court against actual college student athletes. The NCAA's, by the way,
- 4:10Speaker 1: trying to maintain that student athlete, which is just infuriating
- 4:14Speaker 1: to me, is exactly why Congress must step in and
- 4:19Speaker 1: empower college sports to enforce our eligibility rules. Well that's
- 4:23Speaker 1: a croc. But anyway, that's neither here nor there at
- 4:27Speaker 1: this particular time. The Big twelve conference football schedule has
- 4:33Speaker 1: been released, includes all sixteen programs playing nine conference games,
- 4:40Speaker 1: thirteen non conference games against power for opponents, and Notre Dame.
- 4:46Speaker 1: BYU will host Notre Dame in Week seven. Two games
- 4:51Speaker 1: in Europe. The aer Lingus College Football Classic in Dublin
- 4:57Speaker 1: TCU North Carolina is that right? The Union Jack Classic
- 5:04Speaker 1: will match Arizona State in Kansas at Wimbley Stadium. The
- 5:10Speaker 1: Baseball Hall of Fame welcome a couple of new members
- 5:14Speaker 1: last night, Carlos Beltron and Andrew Jones. Beltron gained eighty
- 5:24Speaker 1: four percent of the vote. Craig Bigio said of Beltron
- 5:31Speaker 1: in twenty fourteen, he was superman. It was to display
- 5:36Speaker 1: something I've never seen before. Prior to coming to Houston
- 5:43Speaker 1: in the trade, Beltron had played with the Royals, but
- 5:47Speaker 1: in twelve games over two weeks in October, he hit
- 5:51Speaker 1: four thirty five, slugged over a thousand, hit eight home runs,
- 5:57Speaker 1: stole six bases, score or twenty one runs, and played
- 6:02Speaker 1: a dazzling center field. He had four hundred and thirty
- 6:06Speaker 1: five home runs for his career, knocked in more than
- 6:10Speaker 1: fifteen hundred, scored more than fifteen hundred, and just one
- 6:14Speaker 1: of thirty nine players to achieve both milestones and one
- 6:18Speaker 1: of nine to also steal three hundred bases. Carlos Beltron
- 6:24Speaker 1: belonged in the Hall of Fame. You can argue Andrew Jones,
- 6:29Speaker 1: but I think Andrew Jones was pretty good too. As
- 6:34Speaker 1: Louie and I discussed this morning, it is a crime
- 6:38Speaker 1: Dale Murphy is not in the Baseball Hall of Fame.
- 6:42Speaker 1: A crime. Yankees signed Cody Bellinger to a five year
- 6:49Speaker 1: deal worth one hundred and sixty two and a half
- 6:52Speaker 1: million dollars. Jeff Passen says there are two opt outs
- 6:56Speaker 1: in twenty seven to twenty eight, a no trade clause
- 7:00Speaker 1: and a twenty million dollars signing. Bonus Mellinger, who is thirty,
- 7:08Speaker 1: had a really good year with the Yankees this past season.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Some of you may not have known that, but a
- 7:16Speaker 1: former A and M wide receiver is a member of
- 7:21Speaker 1: the US Olympic Bob Sled team. I say the Bob
- 7:27Speaker 1: Sled team. Boo Needenhoffer came on as a walk on
- 7:35Speaker 1: and finished twenty fourteen with twenty nine catches to it
- 7:40Speaker 1: in ninety three yards and a touchdown. But Needenhoffer is
- 7:46Speaker 1: now on the Bob sled team. He developed into a
- 7:53Speaker 1: three time World Cup team member, earning multiple medals. Needenhoffer
- 7:58Speaker 1: will represent the US in the Winter Olympics coming up
- 8:05Speaker 1: in a few weeks in Italy. I bet you didn't
- 8:08Speaker 1: know that you can amaze your friends with that statistic. Tomorrow,
- 8:12Speaker 1: we'll have the Clark Eisenhower Outdoor Edition. We'll have a
- 8:16Speaker 1: high school report, we will have postgame react from tonight's
- 8:21Speaker 1: Aggie basketball game, which you can hear on our partner
- 8:24Speaker 1: station sixteen to twenty wta W. Coming up, we are
- 8:31Speaker 1: going to hear from Bucky. Scott Clindenon will be here,
- 8:36Speaker 1: Mallory is here, and we are going to muddle through
- 8:42Speaker 1: the show today as best we know how, which on
- 8:48Speaker 1: some days is pretty dang good, other days is average,
- 8:53Speaker 1: and other days are just terrible. But that doesn't mean
- 8:56Speaker 1: we're not trying. Sometimes it doesn't sound like it, but
- 9:00Speaker 1: trust me, most of the time, we are trying. This
- 9:03Speaker 1: portion of the program is brought to you by and
- 9:06Speaker 1: Co Insurance.
- 9:08Speaker 4: Enco Insurance is now a part of Hub International, bringing
- 9:12Speaker 4: you more choices, better value, and even greater expertise. While
- 9:15Speaker 4: our name has changed, we're still the same local team
- 9:18Speaker 4: you know and trust, now with even more to offer
- 9:20Speaker 4: from business insurance to personal protection and employee benefits. We're
- 9:24Speaker 4: still committed to protecting what matters most with the personalized
- 9:27Speaker 4: service you expect now with the strength of Hub International
- 9:30Speaker 4: behind us, more resources, more solutions, still your team and
- 9:34Speaker 4: co insurance a Hub International company, So you're ready for tomorrow.
- 9:38Speaker 5: If you miss tech SACS Live, you miss talking with
- 9:41Speaker 5: some aggie hoops doctor John Thornton.
- 9:42Speaker 6: If you go back, that's coaching. It's right people, right time,
- 9:47Speaker 6: them buying in them playing you winning. But it's also
- 9:51Speaker 6: kind of rollodye. I mean, you sti't know this day
- 9:54Speaker 6: and time. So it's really been fun to see this
- 9:57Speaker 6: group of guys and these coaches and this coaching staff
- 10:01Speaker 6: get them to understand what it takes to win for
- 10:04Speaker 6: them and this program the way Bucky's gonna run it
- 10:07Speaker 6: and see them the light bulb go off. We can
- 10:11Speaker 6: do this, and we might not always know how they're
- 10:14Speaker 6: gonna do it, because you look at the rosters and
- 10:17Speaker 6: how it matches up in every other game or whatever.
- 10:19Speaker 6: It is, and you go, well, you're gonna have to
- 10:20Speaker 6: do X y Z. And they figured out and there's
- 10:24Speaker 6: some standards that Bucky holds them all. Two that carry
- 10:29Speaker 6: the day.
- 10:29Speaker 5: TECHACX Live brought to you by David Gardner. Schuelers hang
- 10:32Speaker 5: out weekdays from eight to eleven on the Zone.
- 10:39Speaker 7: Cowboys ain't easy love in their heart.
- 10:47Speaker 8: They'd rather give you a song and diamonds or.
- 10:51Speaker 9: Go long, star belt, buckles and old faded Levin in
- 10:59Speaker 9: June begins a new day. If you don't understand him,
- 11:05Speaker 9: he don't die here. He'll probably just ride away.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Don't let your baby's growing to be cowbole.
- 11:20Speaker 10: Don't let him pick guitars and club the horses.
- 11:24Speaker 11: I don't be doctors and laves and such. Don't let
- 11:31Speaker 11: your baby's screw up to be a cowboy.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Welcome in, glad to have you with us here On
- 11:37Speaker 1: all Willie Wednesday, Aggie basketball team will hosts Mississippi State.
- 11:43Speaker 1: These teams have played twenty times and Emma's won ten,
- 11:48Speaker 1: Mississippi State has won ten. They have split their series
- 11:56Speaker 1: every time since twenty twenty. Won the last match at
- 12:02Speaker 1: red That was two years ago seventy five sixty nine
- 12:09Speaker 1: Mississippi State brings in one of the great scorers in
- 12:14Speaker 1: the country. Josh Hubbard is averaging over twenty two points
- 12:18Speaker 1: a game. He can go off, he did against Texas
- 12:23Speaker 1: almost single handedly beating the Longhorns in Stark Vegas. Adam
- 12:32Speaker 1: is eighth in the nation in scoring at ninety one
- 12:36Speaker 1: point nine points per game and eleven three pointers per
- 12:44Speaker 1: contest is eighth in the country. Reuben Domingus leads the
- 12:50Speaker 1: SEC and ninth in the country with three point four
- 12:53Speaker 1: mad threes per game. How do you make point four
- 12:56Speaker 1: of a three? And how many points do you get
- 12:58Speaker 1: for making point four of a three? Aggie's lead the
- 13:03Speaker 1: SEC and second among Power four teams with almost sixteen
- 13:08Speaker 1: forced turnovers and nine and a half steals per game.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Mississippi State, like I said, has lost three in a row.
- 13:22Speaker 1: They lost a tough one at the Buzzer to Ole
- 13:25Speaker 1: Miss Saturday, And let me let me get this out.
- 13:32Speaker 1: I don't think I have the entire schedule here, Mississippi State.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Mississippi State. They lost to Kentucky Saturday a week ago,
- 13:46Speaker 1: and they lost to Alabama by fifteen last Tuesday. So
- 13:58Speaker 1: they've lost to some good teams. They lost to Kentucky,
- 14:02Speaker 1: they lost to Alabama, and they lost a heartbreaker in
- 14:04Speaker 1: a rivalry game. Those are the three losses they bring
- 14:08Speaker 1: in to night. All right, Bucky Ball, let's hear from
- 14:15Speaker 1: the Aggie coach going into the game this evening.
- 14:18Speaker 12: What have you seen from Rashaan over the last you know,
- 14:20Speaker 12: really conference play that has been the keys to the
- 14:25Speaker 12: success he's had and his ability to kind of fill
- 14:28Speaker 12: a little bit of that boy that McKenzie left with him.
- 14:31Speaker 13: Well, you know, get double digit rebounds every game. Obviously
- 14:34Speaker 13: we're not we know that we're not just tall with mackenzie.
- 14:37Speaker 13: Mackenzie was a good rebounder, so we lost a lot
- 14:39Speaker 13: of rebounds when he got hurt. You know, Ruben's been
- 14:43Speaker 13: playing four a lot, and Ali Dive has been playing
- 14:45Speaker 13: some four, so he's had to really rebound the ball. Well,
- 14:49Speaker 13: everything else is leadership and all that is, you know,
- 14:52Speaker 13: obviously been consistent, but just the way he's rebound the
- 14:56Speaker 13: ball gives us a chance to play and get you know,
- 15:00Speaker 13: a lot of our better players on the floor, even
- 15:02Speaker 13: if we're smaller, because of what he's able to do
- 15:04Speaker 13: download to get rebounds.
- 15:06Speaker 14: He kind of talked with us about how he likes
- 15:08Speaker 14: to talk on the court just start, you know, try
- 15:12Speaker 14: and trying to like with other guys.
- 15:14Speaker 12: Just what do you like about the energy that he
- 15:16Speaker 12: maybe brings in that sense and just maybe the line
- 15:20Speaker 12: that you can balance as a player just you know,
- 15:23Speaker 12: talking it up out there on a court.
- 15:24Speaker 13: Yeah, it's talking to them. Stop just on the court,
- 15:27Speaker 13: trust me on that one. But now you just had
- 15:31Speaker 13: a great personality, uh, you know, and with the team,
- 15:36Speaker 13: everybody knows he's got the team's best interest at heart.
- 15:40Speaker 13: And so therefore when he talks that they're going to
- 15:42Speaker 13: listen because they know it's coming from the right place.
- 15:45Speaker 10: And he leads by example too.
- 15:46Speaker 13: You know, he's the last one to leave the gym
- 15:48Speaker 13: every day, always in the training room, getting getting ready.
- 15:52Speaker 10: So those are the kind of.
- 15:53Speaker 13: Guys that can lead because you know, they look at
- 15:57Speaker 13: somebody and he's doing all the things he's supposed to
- 15:59Speaker 13: be doing.
- 16:00Speaker 10: One he brings a joy to the game. Uh, he's you.
- 16:04Speaker 13: Know, when it's player led in the locker room, when
- 16:07Speaker 13: they want to want it just as bad as the
- 16:10Speaker 13: coaches do, that's when you can be pretty good. And
- 16:14Speaker 13: that's what that's what it's got to. And he's been
- 16:16Speaker 13: a big, a huge part of that.
- 16:17Speaker 12: There's not many games that have the same type of
- 16:20Speaker 12: energy and feel too a rivalry on the road to
- 16:23Speaker 12: see you guys come out on top against a team
- 16:25Speaker 12: like Texas.
- 16:26Speaker 1: Did you learn anything of all a bunch of guys
- 16:28Speaker 1: in that way?
- 16:32Speaker 13: Well, use, every game in this league is different. You
- 16:34Speaker 13: got to be to win different ways. And you know,
- 16:38Speaker 13: we had to execute really some of our half court
- 16:40Speaker 13: sets late in that game. We had to do a
- 16:45Speaker 13: couple of different things on defense, from switching from pressing
- 16:47Speaker 13: back to his own than demand.
- 16:51Speaker 10: So but that's, uh, that's just kind of taking the
- 16:54Speaker 10: next step.
- 16:54Speaker 13: I guess, just progression from it out of practice more
- 16:57Speaker 13: with this group, and so I guess just winning different
- 17:00Speaker 13: ways they're they're this is not just from the Texas game.
- 17:06Speaker 13: But I just think our group's a confident group right now.
- 17:08Speaker 13: You know, I just think they expect to win right now.
- 17:11Speaker 13: And I'm not saying that means you're gonna win every game,
- 17:13Speaker 13: but they expect to win and they're really dialed in.
- 17:17Speaker 13: You know, like early in the year, we weren't ready
- 17:19Speaker 13: to win on the road because to win on the
- 17:21Speaker 13: road you got to play really good defense, and right
- 17:24Speaker 13: now if you go look at the statistics of just
- 17:26Speaker 13: strictly in league play, we've been the number two defense
- 17:29Speaker 13: in the league, which who would have thought that, you know,
- 17:32Speaker 13: with our size as you know, and you've got some
- 17:36Speaker 13: guys out there that aren't aren't the most athletic players,
- 17:39Speaker 13: you know, So I could think of one in particular
- 17:42Speaker 13: who shoot it really well, may not be the most athletic,
- 17:44Speaker 13: but you've got a lot better on defense has gone
- 17:47Speaker 13: gone along, so I think that they're able to guard better,
- 17:50Speaker 13: which obviously allows you to win on the road in
- 17:53Speaker 13: games like that.
- 17:54Speaker 10: You mentioned confidence.
- 17:55Speaker 11: Where do you think they get that from?
- 18:00Speaker 13: Well, I just think when you our formula for how
- 18:04Speaker 13: we've played in my formula, my own personal formula for
- 18:08Speaker 13: success that we've used ever since I coached high school
- 18:10Speaker 13: basketball is the same here in mountainok High School, if
- 18:14Speaker 13: you go and you looked in the locker room, it's
- 18:16Speaker 13: going to say hard working, unselfish, fearless.
- 18:18Speaker 10: That's where I started coaching.
- 18:20Speaker 13: And that was kind of the belief that I had
- 18:23Speaker 13: and as an athlete is that if you outwork everyone
- 18:28Speaker 13: and your team is more together and unselfish than who
- 18:30Speaker 13: you're going to play against, and you earn the right.
- 18:32Speaker 10: To play fearless.
- 18:33Speaker 13: It's really hard working, plus being un selfish equals being
- 18:36Speaker 13: fearless because if you know that your team has outwork,
- 18:40Speaker 13: practiced harder, and then it's more together, you know, and
- 18:43Speaker 13: it's all about each other.
- 18:44Speaker 10: When you line up to take the floor, y'all, do you.
- 18:48Speaker 13: Know you're that much more together and you know you
- 18:50Speaker 13: put in more work and you know you've played harder.
- 18:53Speaker 13: There's an edge to you as a team that you
- 18:56Speaker 13: can play now fearless basketball. And so that's what's written
- 18:59Speaker 13: on on an our locker room at mountainok High School
- 19:02Speaker 13: when we started that identity. That what's written on the
- 19:04Speaker 13: practice gym at Sanford, and that's what's written now in
- 19:07Speaker 13: the practice gym here. Nothing has changed. It's just you've
- 19:10Speaker 13: got to acquire a good personnel. They got to work
- 19:13Speaker 13: extremely hard, they got to beat about each other, and
- 19:16Speaker 13: then they're gonna play fearless basketball. And then after that
- 19:19Speaker 13: is sex'es and o's so far down the total pole,
- 19:22Speaker 13: so far down the total pole. There's that people have
- 19:24Speaker 13: shown a million ways you can win zone man press,
- 19:27Speaker 13: half court threes.
- 19:28Speaker 10: Two's shown a million ways.
- 19:30Speaker 13: I prefer our way right, but there's a million ways
- 19:33Speaker 13: to win, but no great teams have have come if
- 19:36Speaker 13: they don't have they work so hard and they play
- 19:40Speaker 13: so hard, they're together and.
- 19:41Speaker 10: Have an element of confidence to them. I've seen some.
- 19:44Speaker 13: Great X and O teams that don't play that hard,
- 19:48Speaker 13: not really together, they don't have a lot of confidence,
- 19:51Speaker 13: and they're not gonna win many games.
- 19:53Speaker 10: Right, So how to keep this momentum that you got going?
- 19:58Speaker 13: You know, Tourne, you got to think, right, what do
- 20:01Speaker 13: we do in that game that we could have done
- 20:03Speaker 13: better with?
- 20:04Speaker 10: Right? So, how can we take the next step?
- 20:06Speaker 13: And I mean that's what we focused on, is where
- 20:08Speaker 13: can we take the next step and learning through winning?
- 20:11Speaker 13: And so if we do that a couple with the
- 20:14Speaker 13: things I mentioned playing Harden together, right, then we should
- 20:18Speaker 13: be better than we were versus Texas. And that's what
- 20:20Speaker 13: you can control. That means you're gonna make every shot,
- 20:22Speaker 13: doesn't mean and make every free through, but you're controlling
- 20:26Speaker 13: the things that you can control, and that's that's the
- 20:29Speaker 13: best way for success.
- 20:31Speaker 12: There's a lot of guys have been praising Josh Hubbard
- 20:33Speaker 12: so far, so in your scout, what have you seen
- 20:34Speaker 12: from twelve?
- 20:35Speaker 10: He's just one of these guys. I mean, I said,
- 20:37Speaker 10: it's Mississippi State.
- 20:38Speaker 13: They could beat any team in the country because they're
- 20:40Speaker 13: good enough on defense, and they have a player that
- 20:42Speaker 13: can just literally get going and score forty five points
- 20:46Speaker 13: on you, you know, cut.
- 20:48Speaker 10: Your lights out.
- 20:48Speaker 13: So like he's a very good player. We know that,
- 20:52Speaker 13: And so I mean we're talking about this last night.
- 20:55Speaker 13: Is you know they got us in I'm saying us,
- 21:00Speaker 13: I mean an A and M. We didn't play at
- 21:01Speaker 13: Samford last year. They got us in Sharpville last year.
- 21:05Speaker 13: Pretty good, right, So we know they're capable. We should
- 21:08Speaker 13: have all the aggie should know that this is a
- 21:09Speaker 13: very capable team, and we should be here lined up
- 21:13Speaker 13: ready to fight together and get a win.
- 21:15Speaker 12: And go back to the Courtshan's court case when you
- 21:19Speaker 12: were on the stand and said he could be the
- 21:20Speaker 12: franchise player of this team. When you were thinking about him, then,
- 21:25Speaker 12: I think people when they think of Buckyball would think
- 21:27Speaker 12: like a three point shooting guard or something would be
- 21:29Speaker 12: what was it about him at that time that you
- 21:31Speaker 12: felt like would make him that?
- 21:33Speaker 11: And has he over achieved that?
- 21:37Speaker 12: Has he been right to what you thought? How can
- 21:39Speaker 12: you compare your thoughts then to now.
- 21:41Speaker 13: Yeah, I mean I said that he could have his
- 21:44Speaker 13: main double double as anybody in the country. The biggest
- 21:48Speaker 13: deal to play for us in the way that we
- 21:51Speaker 13: want to play, you have to be really tough, Like
- 21:54Speaker 13: you really have to be tough.
- 21:56Speaker 10: And because.
- 21:59Speaker 13: You know, Matt Painter had a great cod quote at Purdue,
- 22:01Speaker 13: it's like, we're not going to change to recruit. We're
- 22:05Speaker 13: not going to change to be you. You're gonna change,
- 22:07Speaker 13: You're gonna be us, you know what I mean. And
- 22:09Speaker 13: so because of that, like we're not gonna say, well,
- 22:12Speaker 13: these guys don't like to play hard, so we're just
- 22:14Speaker 13: gonna kind of sit inside the three.
- 22:16Speaker 10: We're gonna walk it on up.
- 22:17Speaker 13: They don't really like to be unselfish show we're just
- 22:19Speaker 13: going to not pass the ball and live with taking
- 22:22Speaker 13: bad shots from two players like we were never gonna
- 22:26Speaker 13: do that. We'll play the walk Ons, trust me, we
- 22:28Speaker 13: will play walk Ons that will play hard and unselfish
- 22:31Speaker 13: because we're thinking program first. And so with someone like Rashaun,
- 22:36Speaker 13: I knew he'd be great because he's so tough, he
- 22:38Speaker 13: worked so hard to play so hard, he was about
- 22:41Speaker 13: the right things. When I recruited him, I could just
- 22:42Speaker 13: tell it's all about the right things, and he's a
- 22:45Speaker 13: confident guy. You know, you got to see the Natty
- 22:48Speaker 13: one last night by Indiana and Football and good, good
- 22:51Speaker 13: football team. And you know, one thing that stuck out
- 22:53Speaker 13: with me with what their coach said is you know
- 22:56Speaker 13: they recruit off of production, not potential. You know, think
- 23:00Speaker 13: a great football coaches like coach Elchoch said the same deal.
- 23:03Speaker 13: So where Sean was a JUCO player at one point,
- 23:06Speaker 13: played at Bowling Green then and he actually was at
- 23:09Speaker 13: New Max for a second but didn't play much, then
- 23:11Speaker 13: at USC produced everywhere he's been, like, was just kind
- 23:17Speaker 13: of got double doubles everywhere he's been. And then he
- 23:19Speaker 13: goes into the portal this time and you know there's
- 23:21Speaker 13: I know there was a waiver situation hanging over him,
- 23:24Speaker 13: but to me, I was just like the production, this
- 23:27Speaker 13: should be one of the highly most highly solid after
- 23:29Speaker 13: players in the portal.
- 23:30Speaker 10: And then when I.
- 23:31Speaker 13: Brought him here here on the business I just loved well,
- 23:34Speaker 13: I would say talking to him, I love listening to him,
- 23:36Speaker 13: you know, and uh so that that's what he's been
- 23:41Speaker 13: been I and I thought he was.
- 23:42Speaker 10: A perfect fit for for us. I really did. I
- 23:45Speaker 10: just thought it's a perfect fit for for what we needed.
- 23:48Speaker 13: What are some of the things he likes to talk
- 23:49Speaker 13: about maybe beyond basketball. He's just it's such an engaging personality,
- 23:54Speaker 13: Like uh, he's you know, you've seen those people that
- 23:57Speaker 13: when you see him, they just got negative energy that
- 24:00Speaker 13: you want to turn and go the other way.
- 24:01Speaker 10: He's the opposite.
- 24:02Speaker 13: He's just got that infectious personality that you know, he
- 24:05Speaker 13: just has a great laugh to him.
- 24:06Speaker 10: You know, he's like, you know, just big bear, you know.
- 24:09Speaker 13: What I'm saying. And he'll talk about anything. It's not
- 24:13Speaker 13: it's not what else could be. He could talk literally
- 24:15Speaker 13: about anything, but it's the positive outlook in which he
- 24:18Speaker 13: sees things, you know what I'm saying.
- 24:20Speaker 10: Like, he's just totally like it's not a glass half full.
- 24:23Speaker 13: Deals is the glass looks all the way forward, right,
- 24:27Speaker 13: And I mean those are the kind of people you.
- 24:30Speaker 10: Want to be around.
- 24:32Speaker 14: When you look at one of your former players at
- 24:34Speaker 14: sport chor who's now at Mississippi State and you're scouting
- 24:38Speaker 14: and using him similarly to how you used Simsy, same player,
- 24:42Speaker 14: different player, What have you seen from Yeah?
- 24:45Speaker 13: Sure, for us was used very differently. He was shot
- 24:51Speaker 13: you know, a very high percent from three. Was a stretch,
- 24:54Speaker 13: big had the ball, was a pride, was a primary role.
- 24:57Speaker 13: I mean, you're talking about a player that had X
- 25:00Speaker 13: number of points on Kansas and use more like a
- 25:03Speaker 13: big guard and shot a lot of threes. Each team
- 25:07Speaker 13: calls for different things of how they play or how
- 25:11Speaker 13: how players needed right. But he's a very good player
- 25:15Speaker 13: obviously looking forward to seeing it tomorrow. One thing he
- 25:20Speaker 13: could always just rebound, and he is doing that for them.
- 25:22Speaker 13: He's he's been doing a good job rebounding for them.
- 25:26Speaker 1: That's Bucky and it's fun to listen to him talk
- 25:30Speaker 1: about Rashwan Age and the type of guy that he
- 25:35Speaker 1: saw when he recruited him. I'm not sure. He said
- 25:43Speaker 1: he has been more than we thought, but I can't
- 25:47Speaker 1: help but thinks. And he said he was productive wherever
- 25:54Speaker 1: he's played, and you value production over potential. I love
- 25:59Speaker 1: that signette line, and we talked about that. I think
- 26:03Speaker 1: on Mondays, like when he's recruiting, he doesn't want like
- 26:09Speaker 1: five star athletes he thinks are going to be good,
- 26:13Speaker 1: especially with the portal for guys he's already seen play.
- 26:16Speaker 1: He wants guys that are just good, whether they're two stars.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Whatever they are, they produce and and AG has come
- 26:28Speaker 1: in here and I maybe played a even bigger role
- 26:34Speaker 1: than Bucky perceived he was going to play because of
- 26:40Speaker 1: the Mbaco injury. Because because I still look at AG.
- 26:47Speaker 1: We talked about this a little bit yesterday. I still
- 26:50Speaker 1: look at him as a four player. He's a four.
- 26:55Speaker 1: You know, he's maybe six', six but he he's in
- 27:00Speaker 1: the paint battling and he's been. Good Mississippi state has some,
- 27:06Speaker 1: length for, sure and they. Defend we know. That and
- 27:14Speaker 1: as the coach, mentioned they got a player that can beat.
- 27:19Speaker 1: You he can beat. YOU i don't THINK a AND
- 27:23Speaker 1: m will allow that as well as they've defended this
- 27:27Speaker 1: year and as committed as they are to. Defending but
- 27:34Speaker 1: the thing About Josh hubbard is when he's, covered he's still.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Open when he's, covered he is still getting his shot.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Up not a big, guy but he can rise up
- 27:49Speaker 1: and shoot over the. Defense most of the, time he
- 27:54Speaker 1: will take some bad shots and you will, go no,
- 28:00Speaker 1: way what a horrible. Shot and if he is on
- 28:05Speaker 1: those horrible shots are going through the. Net it's like
- 28:09Speaker 1: you're shaking your head when you're going going down to the,
- 28:13Speaker 1: court going, hey he was. Covered we did everything we
- 28:17Speaker 1: could and the ball went through the. Net you don't
- 28:20Speaker 1: want to see a night like. That bucky, said forty.
- 28:24Speaker 1: Five you, KNOW i don't know if he's ever scored forty.
- 28:27Speaker 1: FIVE i know he scored like, thirties thirty. SIX i
- 28:31Speaker 1: don't remember what he scored Against texas when they went
- 28:34Speaker 1: To austin and won that. GAME i will say this in,
- 28:38Speaker 1: Overtime Josh hubber just scored from, everywhere and he can do,
- 28:46Speaker 1: that and you've got to prevent him from doing. That
- 28:49Speaker 1: he's averaging like twenty two point three a, game so,
- 28:54Speaker 1: hey you keep him at his. Average they've lost three straight.
- 28:59Speaker 1: Games bottom, line he scores thirty, five they have a.
- 29:04Speaker 1: Chance but AGAIN i don't expect that because of the
- 29:08Speaker 1: WAY a AND m. Defends so eight o'clock to night game.
- 29:13Speaker 1: Time The aggies are back also at home On saturday
- 29:19Speaker 1: at two thirty Against South. Carolina so but with the
- 29:27Speaker 1: worst weather in the history of The Brass valley coming,
- 29:30Speaker 1: in who knows what's going to. Happen who knows everything

- 35:13Speaker 1: with alabama struggling a. Little bit, they needed they needed
- 35:17Speaker 1: somebody to come in to give him. A, boost yes he,
- 35:19Speaker 1: did so.
- 35:21Speaker 11: Because they're not as good as they were the last couple.
- 35:22Speaker 1: Of years they are not as good as. They've been
- 35:25Speaker 1: so they got a friendly Judge in alabama to issue
- 35:28Speaker 1: a temporary restraining order To allow bettiaco to Play on
- 35:33Speaker 1: Saturday against let's See who alabama's that they really needed him.
- 35:40Speaker 1: To see Let's, See saturday alabama Is. Hosting tennessee they've
- 35:48Speaker 1: got a lot of big Guys. At, Tennessee, Right yeah
- 35:50Speaker 1: alabama doesn't.
- 35:51Speaker 11: Have quite They rob williams to come play? For HIM
- 35:55Speaker 11: or i mean that.
- 35:59Speaker 1: That guy's been? Really?
- 36:00Speaker 11: Good uh have We got Chinnam and lu to come

- 36:05Speaker 1: Be good let's uh so you're you're not happy? About,
- 36:10Speaker 1: THIS no i can READ what. I wrote, GO ahead
- 36:16Speaker 1: i sent, your message posted this on. Techtags EARLIER the
- 36:20Speaker 1: sec needs to.
- 36:21Speaker 11: Say no alabama isn't going to tell a kid to
- 36:25Speaker 11: SEE the sec in, any sport and no Court in
- 36:28Speaker 11: alabama is going to grant a restraining order. Against them
- 36:33Speaker 11: the teams that still have To play alabama don't want
- 36:36Speaker 11: him on the. Floor either if You Want all caps
- 36:40Speaker 11: to be the league that leads college sports, going forward
- 36:44Speaker 11: like determining the number of teams in the College, football
- 36:46Speaker 11: playoff let's start with this. In league no one In
- 36:50Speaker 11: the big twelve WANTED an nba draft pick playing games,
- 36:53Speaker 11: Against them so create a conference roole against.
- 36:55Speaker 6: It too.
- 36:57Speaker 11: Don't tell me it will put your league in a competitive.
- 37:00Speaker 11: DISADVANTAGE either sec football operated with twenty fewer scholarships in
- 37:05Speaker 11: any other league. This year lead you're already telling players
- 37:13Speaker 11: you can't play IN the sec in the transfer portal
- 37:18Speaker 11: if you don't transfer at the. Right time nico couldn't
- 37:20Speaker 11: play last year after He. Left tennessee he couldn't go
- 37:23Speaker 11: TO another. SEC school A And m softball has a
- 37:27Speaker 11: softball player that couldn't play or practice Who left florida
- 37:32Speaker 11: and COME to A and m. Last year University of
- 37:35Speaker 11: texas has a softball play the number one player in
- 37:38Speaker 11: the country two years ago that Was in oklahoma that
- 37:41Speaker 11: can't play for a whole year because they transferred at the.
- 37:44Speaker 11: Wrong time SO the sec has rules that. ARE enforced
- 37:50Speaker 11: A and m didn't go find a judge to SUE.
- 37:52Speaker 11: The sec texas ain't finding a judge to SUE. The
- 37:56Speaker 11: sec you're not going to sue the hand that. Feeds
- 37:59Speaker 11: you SO the sec, can Lead the big twelve can lead,
- 38:06Speaker 11: their Members the big ten can lead their members and
- 38:09Speaker 11: create more restrictive rules THAN The NC. Double a and
- 38:13Speaker 11: those schools aren't gonna sue because no Judge in alabama
- 38:19Speaker 11: is is going to give a temporary restraining order that ATTACKS,
- 38:25Speaker 11: the Sec because alabama doesn't. Want that when you're SUING
- 38:28Speaker 11: the NC. Double, a hey it's. Freak game everybody. Wins
- 38:32Speaker 11: zos but if you're gonna SUE the sec who controls your,
- 38:38Speaker 11: per strings NOT The NC, Double a alabama won't want
- 38:43Speaker 11: that guy on the court farm because they're still going
- 38:45Speaker 11: to go to. The tournament they're still gonna get the
- 38:47Speaker 11: money at. The end they might Not be tennessee, this
- 38:50Speaker 11: weekend but are they not going TO the ncaa tournament?
- 38:52Speaker 1: Right? Now yeah sure.
- 38:53Speaker 11: They ARE so sec needs to stand up and be
- 38:58Speaker 11: a leader in this in, College athletics.
- 39:02Speaker 1: So what what you have you? Don't have we already
- 39:06Speaker 1: know there's no leadership IN the NC double a because
- 39:10Speaker 1: they issued. A statement that's what you do when you're
- 39:12Speaker 1: IN the Nc double they.
- 39:13Speaker 11: Issued a statement before the, temporary.
- 39:15Speaker 1: Restructure and then and then it's just.
- 39:18Speaker 11: Absolutely right their their statement FROM the NC double a shockingly.
- 39:23Speaker 1: Is, right yes. It's right but they can't do anything. About,
- 39:27Speaker 1: it no they. Can't write they read their. Statement again their,
- 39:30Speaker 1: statement says these attempts to SIDESTEP in C double a
- 39:35Speaker 1: rules and recruit individuals who have finished their time in
- 39:38Speaker 1: college OR signed nba contracts are taking away opportunities from high.
- 39:44Speaker 1: School students by, the way let Me while i'm thinking
- 39:48Speaker 1: about it in, my Folder col. Dash, eligible Okay, coach
- 39:55Speaker 1: cal this is his thought on all of this kind. Of,
- 40:01Speaker 1: stuff okay it's just a minute and thirty. Nine seconds
- 40:05Speaker 1: if you, find, it trade let's. Play, that okay this Is.
- 40:09Speaker 19: Coach cal you got five years to Play four if
- 40:19Speaker 19: you stay at the same school, four years we'll give
- 40:23Speaker 19: you a. Fifth year if your coach leaves or, is

- 45:33Speaker 1: not going to.
- 45:33Speaker 11: Do it then don't act like you if you have
- 45:37Speaker 11: said THAT the ncaa is not, leading you which they've
- 45:41Speaker 11: come out, and said and all these things which, they're

- 50:20Speaker 1: G league it was the idea of the junior college
- 50:23Speaker 1: and getting extra time in major college versus, junior college
- 50:28Speaker 1: the same Thing That diego pavia Did at vanderbilt to

- 51:26Speaker 1: Yeah i, get that but but. It's not it's not.
- 51:33Speaker 1: Radically different it is different when you can go and

- 51:50Speaker 1: i don't see it getting. ANY better i see And
- 51:54Speaker 1: and scott you mentioned, the LEAGUES and i wish the

- 52:05Speaker 1: take a stand.
- 52:05Speaker 21: On.
- 52:06Speaker 1: It, right yes but they're not going to do it
- 52:09Speaker 1: because they're, self serving every single one. Of them this
- 52:14Speaker 1: Is why probby's the deadline on expanding. THE playoffs i
- 52:18Speaker 1: don't expect that to happen because they can't agree. On
- 52:21Speaker 1: THAT and I just i don't see.
- 52:25Speaker 19: It.
- 52:25Speaker 1: Happening now what we Saw it wait. A minute what
- 52:28Speaker 1: we Saw From greg SANKI during covid is he saved. College,

- 52:48Speaker 1: up and, say no like you've, already proposed we're not.
- 52:52Speaker 1: Doing this we're not. Doing, it OKAY because i would
- 52:55Speaker 1: argue That If greg sanki stands up and, says it
- 52:59Speaker 1: or EVEN p Td at, big TEN which i don't
- 53:01Speaker 1: think he'd. Ever do but it. Doesn't matter if they
- 53:04Speaker 1: would stand up and, Say No brett yormark would're not,
- 53:08Speaker 1: doing this then it wouldn't.
- 53:11Speaker 11: Be done and you can't sit there, and, Say, well
- 53:13Speaker 11: scott you're bringing. Up softball that. Doesn't matter Nico leaving
- 53:18Speaker 11: tennessee last year to be a free agent as a
- 53:22Speaker 11: quarterback AND the sec not being able to sign HIM
- 53:26Speaker 11: because sec rules said he could not play for a
- 53:30Speaker 11: year is as high a profile situation as you can. Possibly,
- 53:35Speaker 11: have yes the rules FOR the sec said you CAN'T
- 53:41Speaker 11: play sec football because you don't think THERE were sec
- 53:45Speaker 11: teams without a quarterback that wouldn't have had him on. Their? Campus, right,
- 53:50Speaker 11: okay yes that's where, It is so don't, Act, well

- 54:07Speaker 1: it yes.
- 54:08Speaker 11: They're rules they already have rules.
- 54:10Speaker 1: They force they already have rules.
- 54:12Speaker 11: In PLACE the sec is enforcing some some of them
- 54:18Speaker 11: at the detriment or whatever you want to, call it of.
- 54:22Speaker 11: The league but he wasn't gonna play. Sec football but
