- 0:00Speaker 1: Now the Mark Simone Show on seven ten woor filling
- 0:05Speaker 1: in for Mark, here's Ken Rosato.
- 0:08Speaker 2: As it is Memorial Day, Mark is off enjoying a
- 0:11Speaker 2: well deserved long weekend, and I hope that you are
- 0:14Speaker 2: spending time with family and friends, enjoying the freedoms that
- 0:17Speaker 2: so many fought and died for. And that is why
- 0:20Speaker 2: our vets who lost their lives defended this country so
- 0:24Speaker 2: we all wouldn't have to worry about being attacked. As
- 0:27Speaker 2: a friend of mine who was a coastguardsman would always say,
- 0:30Speaker 2: don't worry about a thing. We got this. But while
- 0:33Speaker 2: it's a blessing to be able to enjoy the day, relaxing,
- 0:36Speaker 2: maybe having a hot dog, you tell stories with people
- 0:39Speaker 2: we care about, we do need to take some time
- 0:42Speaker 2: to honor the great people who died for us, whether
- 0:45Speaker 2: in active duty or in training, or even people who
- 0:49Speaker 2: were at the burn pits and they came back and
- 0:50Speaker 2: they suffered cancer and died after the fact. The fact
- 0:53Speaker 2: is they sacrificed their lives.
- 0:55Speaker 3: They went in.
- 0:56Speaker 2: They didn't they didn't want to die, but they went
- 0:58Speaker 2: in knowing that that was a very possible a thing
- 1:02Speaker 2: that could happen, that they could lose their lives joining
- 1:05Speaker 2: the military, and this is still an all voluntary military
- 1:08Speaker 2: and these people ended up dying. That's why we have
- 1:11Speaker 2: this day for them. They need to be revered. So
- 1:14Speaker 2: whether you take a moment of silence, you say a prayer,
- 1:17Speaker 2: you make a toast, please just take a moment, at
- 1:20Speaker 2: the very least a moment and dedicate the joy that
- 1:23Speaker 2: you experience on this day with your family and friends
- 1:26Speaker 2: to the honorable people who died to make it possible.
- 1:30Speaker 2: And may they all rest in peace. And may we
- 1:32Speaker 2: eventually arrive at a time when we no longer have
- 1:35Speaker 2: war and nobody dies in conflict. Former New York City
- 1:39Speaker 2: TV news actor Can Rozatto in for Mark Today. I
- 1:42Speaker 2: spent twenty years anchoring the morning and also the noon
- 1:45Speaker 2: newscast at Channel seven here in New York. I also
- 1:48Speaker 2: used to host Good Day new York on Channel five.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Before that, I was on the radio about a half
- 1:52Speaker 2: a dozen radio stations all around the Tri state.
- 1:54Speaker 3: Area for years.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Way before that, Gosh, I used like fifty different radio names. Hey,
- 2:00Speaker 2: you're listening to those stakes of wax. I did that,
- 2:02Speaker 2: yeah back in the day. Nowadays, you'd catch me out
- 2:05Speaker 2: in New Jersey streaming TV channel. It's called on New
- 2:07Speaker 2: Jersey o NNJ dot com o NNJ dot com. You
- 2:12Speaker 2: can see that anywhere in the US if you get
- 2:13Speaker 2: a chance, check it out. Please when you're when you uh,
- 2:16Speaker 2: after you've listened to wor please for at least fifty
- 2:19Speaker 2: hours straight, then.
- 2:20Speaker 3: You're allowed to go check that out for a minute.
- 2:22Speaker 3: I promise.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Oh, we got so much to talk about today. It
- 2:25Speaker 2: may be a holiday, but there is a lot of
- 2:27Speaker 2: news happening. The phone lines are open. Please give us
- 2:30Speaker 2: a call one eight hundred three two one zero seven ten.
- 2:34Speaker 2: One eight hundred three two one zero seven ten. So
- 2:38Speaker 2: if you're like some of my friends, in fact, I'm
- 2:39Speaker 2: gonna mention him by name. My friend Earl in Putnam County,
- 2:42Speaker 2: former cop, greatest guy in the world, Earl Diehard Conservative,
- 2:47Speaker 2: getting really pissed off at the president right now, saying
- 2:50Speaker 2: what is going on?
- 2:51Speaker 3: Ken?
- 2:51Speaker 2: All of my friends are giving up on him. Whever
- 2:53Speaker 2: I say, Earl, take a breath. We literally text sometimes
- 2:56Speaker 2: two in the mornings. I take a breath. So the
- 2:59Speaker 2: question is, and I know a lot of people are asking,
- 3:01Speaker 2: what is the deal? Are we close to solving things
- 3:04Speaker 2: in Iran?
- 3:05Speaker 4: Well?
- 3:06Speaker 2: President Trump vowed again yesterday that Iran would never have
- 3:10Speaker 2: a nuclear weapon, and that is the most important thing
- 3:13Speaker 2: in his book. That after some Republican senators were a
- 3:16Speaker 2: little nervous about the details of this piece plant currently
- 3:19Speaker 2: being negotiated.
- 3:21Speaker 5: Right now, when negotiating, and we'll see, but either we're
- 3:25Speaker 5: going to get it one way or the other.
- 3:26Speaker 3: They're not going to have a nuclear rip.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Well, on Saturday, Trump said his negotiators were finalizing an agreement,
- 3:32Speaker 2: but then yesterday he kind of pulled back a little
- 3:34Speaker 2: bit and said he'd posts or he posted rather that
- 3:36Speaker 2: he would wait until the right agreement could be struck,
- 3:41Speaker 2: and he said that he told his representatives not to
- 3:43Speaker 2: rush into a deal, and that time is on our side.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Once a deal is struck, world oil prices should drop
- 3:51Speaker 2: fairly quickly. I know they're telling you right now, Oh,
- 3:53Speaker 2: it could take months of years. That's not going to
- 3:56Speaker 2: take months years. It's not going to come down as
- 3:58Speaker 2: quickly as it went up. Of course the speculators all
- 4:01Speaker 2: made their money. But it will come down, and it
- 4:03Speaker 2: will come down quicker than they're saying. It just won't
- 4:06Speaker 2: be overnight. It may take a couple of months, but
- 4:09Speaker 2: you'll see how quickly and steadily it comes down. And
- 4:11Speaker 2: if you're like me, I think you understand that as
- 4:14Speaker 2: long as the American public sees the oil prices or
- 4:18Speaker 2: gas prices in the correct direction, even if it's only
- 4:21Speaker 2: dropping in nickel a week, that gets the point across.
- 4:24Speaker 2: It doesn't have to drop by a dollar next week.
- 4:26Speaker 2: But as the prices come down, that will help because
- 4:29Speaker 2: worldwide supply would increase. With all the oil that's currently
- 4:32Speaker 2: stuck in the Strait of Horror Moves, it'll be heading
- 4:34Speaker 2: out to the countries that need it. Well, we want
- 4:36Speaker 2: it opened, we want it free.
- 4:38Speaker 3: We don't want tolls.
- 4:40Speaker 6: It's international, it's an international waterway and not charging tolls.
- 4:45Speaker 2: That was Trump on the Straight of Horror Moves. Reopening
- 4:47Speaker 2: that should happen sooner rather than later. In Iran would
- 4:50Speaker 2: have to agree to allow safe passage of all vessels
- 4:54Speaker 2: through the strait, no matter what country. Also, Iran would
- 4:57Speaker 2: hand over its nuclear dust and would promise not to
- 5:00Speaker 2: sue the development of a nuclear weapon.
- 5:02Speaker 3: We get the highly rich, we will get it. We
- 5:05Speaker 3: don't need it, we don't want it.
- 5:07Speaker 7: We'll probably destroy it after we get it, but we're
- 5:09Speaker 7: not going to let them have it.
- 5:10Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the key.
- 5:11Speaker 2: And right now we're getting different words again from different
- 5:14Speaker 2: factions in Iran. Iran is saying that we are close
- 5:18Speaker 2: to a deal. They have acknowledged that, but they said
- 5:21Speaker 2: that they still have not worked out the details on
- 5:25Speaker 2: the nuclear aspect of it. But President Trump is saying, oh,
- 5:28Speaker 2: that is the whole plan, that is ninety percent of it.
- 5:30Speaker 2: So don't buy what they're saying, because they're not going
- 5:33Speaker 2: to get away with this, with having anything related to
- 5:36Speaker 2: anything nuclear. They will have to make an agreement that
- 5:39Speaker 2: they will abolish any nuclear plans and we will get
- 5:42Speaker 2: their nuclear dust. And if down the line they try
- 5:46Speaker 2: to do their nefarious deed again, they're going to have
- 5:48Speaker 2: to start from scratch. And by the way, for those
- 5:50Speaker 2: who don't realize, you think oll ken, they're going to
- 5:52Speaker 2: do their nuclear plan no matter what, we won't know. Yeah,
- 5:55Speaker 2: we will know. Do you know that from satellites we
- 5:58Speaker 2: can detect anywhere there is even tiny amounts of nuclear
- 6:04Speaker 2: capability in terms of uranium stores and things like that,
- 6:07Speaker 2: we can detect it from the sky. So if Iran
- 6:10Speaker 2: tries to play the game, we'll know it before anyone
- 6:13Speaker 2: knows it except for the people actually storing it or
- 6:15Speaker 2: creating it. We will know it, so believe me. We
- 6:18Speaker 2: don't even have to send inspectors in on the ground.
- 6:20Speaker 2: We can detect it from the air. And if we
- 6:22Speaker 2: sniff out a little bit of uranium, I think Iran
- 6:25Speaker 2: will be in heap, bigger trouble. So just watch out
- 6:29Speaker 2: for that. Seven to ten wo R the Voice of
- 6:32Speaker 2: New York Ken Rosatto in for Mark on Memorial Day.
- 6:35Speaker 2: And of course again some Iranian officials of poop poo
- 6:38Speaker 2: this whole plan. The problem is that you still do
- 6:41Speaker 2: have and Marcus talked about this on the show. Different
- 6:44Speaker 2: factions in Iran, all controlling different segments. Some control the
- 6:49Speaker 2: military equipment, some people are the religious folks, and everybody
- 6:53Speaker 2: is trying to take control. They haven't even really consolidated
- 6:57Speaker 2: control in their own country, let alone who was in
- 7:01Speaker 2: charge to talk on behalf of Iran with the United States.
- 7:05Speaker 2: But Trump will only have so much patience and either
- 7:07Speaker 2: somebody steps up to the plate and has total say,
- 7:10Speaker 2: or that country is going to be flattened, as simple
- 7:13Speaker 2: as that. Hate to say it, because there are good
- 7:16Speaker 2: human beings there, but then you got to do something
- 7:19Speaker 2: to step up and overthrow your government because the people
- 7:21Speaker 2: in charge there right now are useless. Seven ten WR
- 7:25Speaker 2: the Voice of New York eighties, thirteen minutes after ten
- 7:28Speaker 2: o'clock on Memorial Day Monday, and police in DC if
- 7:31Speaker 2: you heard this over the weekend, they shot and killed
- 7:33Speaker 2: a gunman near the White House. After the twenty one
- 7:35Speaker 2: year old pulled out a revolver. Who carries a revolver anymore?
- 7:40Speaker 2: He had a revolver. He fired at a Secret Service checkpoint.
- 7:44Speaker 2: The problem was that nearby inside the White House at
- 7:47Speaker 2: the time, the President was there, so of course that
- 7:49Speaker 2: puts everybody on alert. They had to have lockdown at
- 7:51Speaker 2: the White House. The shooting happened just after six pm
- 7:55Speaker 2: on Saturday, and a man approached the Secret Service checkpoint
- 7:59Speaker 2: that was at tenth Street and Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest. He
- 8:02Speaker 2: pulled a gun from his bag. He started to shoot
- 8:05Speaker 2: at officers. The problem is when you shoot at armed people,
- 8:08Speaker 2: you better be accurate. Fortunately he was not, so all
- 8:12Speaker 2: the Secret Service fired back and killed him. He has
- 8:16Speaker 2: identified as twenty one year old in are best. He's
- 8:19Speaker 2: from Dundock, Maryland, and they know him because he tried
- 8:22Speaker 2: to break in a year ago. He tried to get
- 8:24Speaker 2: through one of their checkpoints. They say he seemed to
- 8:26Speaker 2: be mentally unstable because a year ago he claimed to
- 8:29Speaker 2: be Jesus Christ, he claimed to be God the Father,
- 8:31Speaker 2: he claimed to be demons. He added all different claims.
- 8:35Speaker 2: The question is somebody like that has to know people, family, friends,
- 8:40Speaker 2: back home, and how does everyone say, oh, yeah, in
- 8:42Speaker 2: a series, he's you know, he's just a funny guy. Really,
- 8:46Speaker 2: how do you let somebody like that around and way
- 8:48Speaker 2: to get the gun? And I'm sure that'll be investigated.
- 8:51Speaker 2: But if somebody is that mentally unstable, what's he doing
- 8:53Speaker 2: with a gun? Because you do have to pass a test,
- 8:56Speaker 2: you know, you do have to fill up paperwork, and
- 8:58Speaker 2: if you've been found to be delane stable, you cannot
- 9:01Speaker 2: get a carry permit. We don't even know if if
- 9:03Speaker 2: you had the gun legally or not, but I'm sure
- 9:05Speaker 2: that'll come out in the investigation. A good samaritan this
- 9:08Speaker 2: is great news.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Get this.
- 9:10Speaker 2: A good Samaritan found a fanny pack in Florida stuffed
- 9:15Speaker 2: with thirty thousand dollars in cash that was forgotten accidentally
- 9:21Speaker 2: inside the bathroom of a wah wah. For those not
- 9:25Speaker 2: from New Jersey, you probably what the heck is a
- 9:28Speaker 2: wah wah. It sounds like something, sounds like you want
- 9:30Speaker 2: a glass of something to drink. Wah wah is a
- 9:33Speaker 2: fantastic kind of quickie mark kind of a place. And
- 9:36Speaker 2: they started in the you know, the South Jersey Philadelphia area,
- 9:40Speaker 2: and they've now spread all over the country. Anyway, instead
- 9:43Speaker 2: of pocketing the money, this guy spent days tracking down.
- 9:47Speaker 3: The owner of the money.
- 9:49Speaker 2: What would you do if you found thirty thousand dollars cash?
- 9:54Speaker 2: It was no id, no name, What would you do?
- 9:58Speaker 2: Be honest?
- 9:59Speaker 4: You know?
- 9:59Speaker 2: I imediately assumed that there was a camera trained down me,
- 10:02Speaker 2: and they want to see if I'll do the right thing.
- 10:03Speaker 2: So me, I don't care how broke I was, I
- 10:05Speaker 2: would probably do the same thing. I'd call the police,
- 10:08Speaker 2: try to at least make an attempt to find the owner. Well,
- 10:12Speaker 2: this guy, Luis Salazar, is a construction worker. He didn't
- 10:15Speaker 2: know what to do. I could have used the money himself,
- 10:17Speaker 2: but he decided now that would not be the moral thing.
- 10:20Speaker 2: This was back on May third in Palm Beach County, Florida.
- 10:24Speaker 2: So it was in a black fanny pack. Imagine that
- 10:28Speaker 2: full of singles, twenties and one hundred dollars bills. So
- 10:33Speaker 2: what happened was he decided to spend a week finding
- 10:37Speaker 2: the guy or woman who lost this fanny pack out.
- 10:41Speaker 2: He's assuming it was a guy. It was in a
- 10:42Speaker 2: men's rum, so he had no evidence. He didn't know
- 10:46Speaker 2: where he could start looking. He had no id. The
- 10:49Speaker 2: twenty four year old owner of that fanny pack, though,
- 10:51Speaker 2: didn't realize he had misplaced the money until he was
- 10:55Speaker 2: about fifty miles away and he almost had a heart attack.
- 10:57Speaker 2: What it happened was the owner of the bag. Everyone
- 11:01Speaker 2: right away thinks.
- 11:02Speaker 3: So it was probably drug bunny.
- 11:03Speaker 2: No, it wasn't. The owner of the bag is only
- 11:05Speaker 2: in his early twenties. His sister had a medical emergency
- 11:09Speaker 2: needed a medical procedure. The guy had a Pokemon collection
- 11:13Speaker 2: he had saved since he was a kid.
- 11:15Speaker 3: He sold it.
- 11:16Speaker 2: I don't know if it was like an online deal,
- 11:18Speaker 2: but he met a guy and he sold it, and
- 11:19Speaker 2: that's why he had that much cash. It had to
- 11:21Speaker 2: be sold and it had to be sold in cash.
- 11:24Speaker 2: So he ended up getting thirty twenty three dollars in
- 11:27Speaker 2: cash for all the Pokemon stuff, and he stopped by
- 11:31Speaker 2: the bathroom. He stopped to get something to drink at
- 11:33Speaker 2: the wah wah, and he laid down the bag and
- 11:35Speaker 2: forgot it. And thankfully, if anyone were to find it,
- 11:39Speaker 2: this man Salasar. Mister Salazar found it and was a
- 11:44Speaker 2: good construction worker, hard working man, and was able to
- 11:47Speaker 2: track down through the police because he contacted police. He
- 11:51Speaker 2: was able to track down the owner, he says, when
- 11:53Speaker 2: he presented the money back and the owner knew how
- 11:55Speaker 2: much money was in it. That's how we knew it
- 11:56Speaker 2: was the right guy. He was able to say exactly
- 11:59Speaker 2: how much was in there. He broke down in tears
- 12:02Speaker 2: and hugged and gave a kiss to the man. But
- 12:04Speaker 2: there are good people on this planet, very good people.
- 12:07Speaker 2: And mister Salisar's like I said, he's a hard working
- 12:09Speaker 2: construction man. But he said, I prefer to work for
- 12:12Speaker 2: my money, and I knew this wasn't my money.
- 12:14Speaker 3: Good man.
- 12:15Speaker 2: God bless you, mister Salisar, and I hope you come
- 12:17Speaker 2: into millions on your own because of the honesty, that
- 12:21Speaker 2: little bit honesty, quite a bit of honesty that you showed.
- 12:24Speaker 2: I hope you are rewarded manyfold as a result. Seven
- 12:27Speaker 2: ten wr The Voice of New York. Now we had
- 12:30Speaker 2: a nice story and we shift to a gross story.
- 12:33Speaker 2: I don't know if you heard about this. Have you
- 12:35Speaker 2: heard about the so called preppy Princeton killer. So this
- 12:40Speaker 2: is a guy who was behind bars. He was being
- 12:43Speaker 2: held in jail. He wasn't convicted yet, but apparently there
- 12:47Speaker 2: is video allegedly showing him stabbing his own brother to
- 12:53Speaker 2: death and beating him with golf clubs till he was dead.
- 12:57Speaker 2: And on video it shows that he ripped out Sorry, folks,
- 13:02Speaker 2: put down your food for a second. He ripped out
- 13:05Speaker 2: his brother's eye and consumed it. Yeah, he was later
- 13:10Speaker 2: found dead in his jail cell. But as it turns out,
- 13:15Speaker 2: it looks like the good liberals of New Jersey were
- 13:18Speaker 2: probably not going to prosecute him because they believed that
- 13:20Speaker 2: he was mentally unstable. Now you said, well, of course,
- 13:22Speaker 2: someone who would do that is mentally unstable, But again,
- 13:25Speaker 2: he wasn't metally unstable. Apparently the day before he did
- 13:27Speaker 2: that to his brother, right, So what point did he
- 13:29Speaker 2: become metally unstable? And at some point we have to
- 13:31Speaker 2: address the problem of metal instability because it's it's really
- 13:35Speaker 2: you know, you could use that as an excuse for anything,
- 13:38Speaker 2: but yes, it's pretty gross, and yes, it really did happen,
- 13:40Speaker 2: and of course it happened in New Jersey. And I
- 13:43Speaker 2: got to leave you with this. I thought, before we
- 13:44Speaker 2: go to break, have you heard about the you visa scam?
- 13:48Speaker 3: Check this out.
- 13:48Speaker 2: If you are here illegally, you can't get a visa
- 13:51Speaker 2: to stay, or can you? There is something called a
- 13:55Speaker 2: you visa, like the letter you visa. It's meant for
- 13:59Speaker 2: crime victims. So if you're an illegal alien you get
- 14:02Speaker 2: robbed or assaulted, and there's proof, like there's a surveillance
- 14:05Speaker 2: camera showing that you were beaten, you were robbed, et cetera.
- 14:08Speaker 2: It is partially out of the goodness of our hearts
- 14:11Speaker 2: because you were the victim of a crime in our country.
- 14:13Speaker 2: And it's also so police can use you to rite
- 14:18Speaker 2: out the person who did the crime so they can
- 14:20Speaker 2: go after the criminal, so they keep you here as
- 14:22Speaker 2: a witness in essence. So it's called the U Visa program. Well,
- 14:25Speaker 2: under the Biden administration, of course, the illegals got wise
- 14:28Speaker 2: to it. It was passed among them. At about fifty
- 14:31Speaker 2: thousand U visas were issued under the Biden administration to people.
- 14:35Speaker 2: And once they get that U visa, they could stay
- 14:38Speaker 2: they're here. It's like you're a legal resident at that point.
- 14:42Speaker 2: So there are literally fifty thousand people walking around, and
- 14:46Speaker 2: then of course they send for their families, and then
- 14:48Speaker 2: before you know it, you have five hundred thousand people here.
- 14:51Speaker 2: Now it turns out we find out many of the
- 14:55Speaker 2: assaults were staged. They were staged. There are whole criminal
- 15:00Speaker 2: syndicates who offer their services on camera wearing masks to
- 15:05Speaker 2: pretend to beat you up and rob you. So they
- 15:08Speaker 2: made deals with bodega owners all over the country. They
- 15:11Speaker 2: made deals with people on the street through immigration centers,
- 15:14Speaker 2: et cetera. Said you give us, you know, a thousand bucks,
- 15:17Speaker 2: show up at this bodega at two am at whatever,
- 15:19Speaker 2: and we'll pretend to beat you up. We'll go light
- 15:21Speaker 2: on you so you're not going to have any broken
- 15:23Speaker 2: bones or permanent damage. And then you show the video
- 15:26Speaker 2: to the immigration they'll give you a U visa you
- 15:28Speaker 2: could stay. And so fifty thousand people have done it
- 15:33Speaker 2: so far. Well now since Trump took office, that number
- 15:36Speaker 2: has been cut way down. Very few have been able
- 15:40Speaker 2: to apply. And by the way, about fifty people have
- 15:42Speaker 2: been thrown in jail because they were outed. They were
- 15:44Speaker 2: caught doing this crime. But guess how many people have
- 15:48Speaker 2: now applied for a you visa since Trump took office
- 15:51Speaker 2: because they know that it's going to be difficult if
- 15:53Speaker 2: they're here illegally to get citizenship. Four hundred thousand people
- 15:59Speaker 2: have applied. So suddenly everybody is assaulting illegal aliens all
- 16:03Speaker 2: over the country.
- 16:04Speaker 3: Four hundred thousand.
- 16:05Speaker 2: It went from a few thousand to four hundred thousand. Like,
- 16:08Speaker 2: we all know who the people here are illegally, and
- 16:11Speaker 2: we're all going to assault them. It's just amazing. If
- 16:14Speaker 2: there is a scam to be had, somebody will have
- 16:17Speaker 2: the scam. Eight hundred three to two one zero seven ten,
- 16:20Speaker 2: eight hundred three to two one zero seven ten and
- 16:23Speaker 2: seven ten. War is the voice of New York. Mark

- 16:28Speaker 2: calls next, So definitely call up up in.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Ten wor filling in for Mark.
- 16:33Speaker 8: Here again is Ken Rosatto.
- 16:35Speaker 2: Nice to be with you on this day, Memorial Day.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Once again, remember all those people who have died as
- 16:41Speaker 2: a result of being part of our military to defend us,
- 16:43Speaker 2: protect us. This is a day that we remember them.
- 16:47Speaker 2: So as much as it's nice to spend time with family,
- 16:50Speaker 2: and friends, enjoying your day off. Have that hot dog,
- 16:52Speaker 2: have that hamburger, because they did sacrifice so that you
- 16:55Speaker 2: could have the freedom. But don't forget that we should
- 16:57Speaker 2: always take that moment to say thank you and remember
- 17:00Speaker 2: them on the special day. Eight hundred three two one
- 17:03Speaker 2: zero seven ten. Eight hundred three two one zero seven
- 17:07Speaker 2: ten for seven ten w O R again, Ken Rosatto
- 17:10Speaker 2: in thank you to Mark Simon for letting me sit
- 17:12Speaker 2: in today, and to our friend Tom Cuddy, the program
- 17:15Speaker 2: director here at WR Radio. It's always an honor to
- 17:19Speaker 2: walk in the building. I still get goosebumps. I'm fifty
- 17:21Speaker 2: nine years old. I've been listening to the many of
- 17:24Speaker 2: the call letters that are housed in these buildings since
- 17:27Speaker 2: I was a kid, and so to walk in these
- 17:29Speaker 2: hallowed halls and see some of the personalities that I
- 17:32Speaker 2: listened to, especially the great Mark Simone, please get I
- 17:36Speaker 2: get goosebumps sitting in the chair. So I promise, Mark,
- 17:39Speaker 2: I'll leave the studio neat, I'll clean up all my
- 17:41Speaker 2: all my little leg goodies here on your desk.
- 17:43Speaker 3: I promise, all right.
- 17:44Speaker 2: Seven Ted Wi the Voice of New York Again eight
- 17:48Speaker 2: hundred three two one zero seven ten eight hundred three
- 17:52Speaker 2: to two one zero seven ten may have heard about
- 17:55Speaker 2: the hantavirus. Yeah, everybody's talking about hantavirus, any bola, handt
- 17:59Speaker 2: to virus, any bold and I heard it over the
- 18:03Speaker 2: weekend a lot of a lot of newscasts, and having
- 18:05Speaker 2: been a news anchor for the majority of my career,
- 18:07Speaker 2: and look, we can't not report a story like that.
- 18:12Speaker 3: You have to do.
- 18:13Speaker 2: It, but you have to do it not in headline
- 18:17Speaker 2: terroristic fashion. You have to tell the whole story. Is
- 18:21Speaker 2: hantavirus on the rise right now throughout the country. Yes,
- 18:25Speaker 2: here's the part they don't tell you before you get nervous.
- 18:29Speaker 2: Hantavirus cases rise every year at this time of the year.
- 18:35Speaker 2: Do you know why, Well, let me give you a
- 18:38Speaker 2: hint how as to how hantavirus gets spread, And then
- 18:41Speaker 2: you could probably put two and two together. The only
- 18:44Speaker 2: way to spread handavirus is well, with one exception actually
- 18:47Speaker 2: the very rare type, but ninety nine percent of the time,
- 18:50Speaker 2: the way to spread handed virus is with contact with
- 18:54Speaker 2: rat droppings and rat urine, rat feces, et cetera. So
- 18:58Speaker 2: this is springtime, right, this is when we clean up
- 19:01Speaker 2: the garage. We clean out the attic well during the
- 19:04Speaker 2: cold winter, the rats were nesting and they gave birth
- 19:08Speaker 2: to little baby rats and mice. Right now, so all
- 19:11Speaker 2: the built up feces and urine that's dry. Okay, You
- 19:14Speaker 2: go to clean out your garage in the corner, you
- 19:16Speaker 2: move a box, you say, what is that? You sweep
- 19:18Speaker 2: it up, and all of a sudden, dust goes in
- 19:20Speaker 2: the air that could.
- 19:22Speaker 3: Be dried urine, dried feces from rats.
- 19:26Speaker 2: That's how you can catch it if the rat was
- 19:28Speaker 2: infected with handavirus. Now it became a news item because
- 19:32Speaker 2: in the last month or so, we had a ship
- 19:36Speaker 2: that had a bunch of passengers and apparently there were
- 19:38Speaker 2: rats on the ship and they got the virus from
- 19:41Speaker 2: the rats on the ship. But normally you do not
- 19:43Speaker 2: have to panic about that. And yes, cases are on
- 19:47Speaker 2: the rise, but the chances of you catching it are slim.
- 19:50Speaker 2: And it's not because we're gonna all get attacked by
- 19:53Speaker 2: the handa virus. So I just want people to catch
- 19:56Speaker 2: their breath and understand, yes, it's on the rise. Yes
- 19:58Speaker 2: you should be careful if you clean the garage where gloves,
- 20:01Speaker 2: wear a mask, maybe goggles, take a shower after you
- 20:04Speaker 2: you clean out the garage or have a professional do it.
- 20:07Speaker 2: Make sure you disinfect everything. But no, there is no
- 20:10Speaker 2: reason to go into panic mode. It's ten thirty two
- 20:13Speaker 2: right now, seven ten w R, the Voice of New York.
- 20:16Speaker 2: We go to our busy phones. Gene and Toms River,
- 20:18Speaker 2: good morning, good on and Ken.
- 20:23Speaker 6: Just to let you know that I am a fan
- 20:25Speaker 6: of yours and I wish you were back on TV
- 20:28Speaker 6: or on the radio in New York area. I live
- 20:31Speaker 6: in New Jersey. I met you twenty five years ago. Ken,
- 20:37Speaker 6: you were on thirty nine Street in Brooklyn. I said
- 20:39Speaker 6: to you, you look your bed looking in person that
- 20:43Speaker 6: you are on TV.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Well, I'm so glad my mother sent you that check, Jean,
- 20:47Speaker 2: and that's very nice of you. Jean. What was what
- 20:51Speaker 2: was I do you remember what I was in Brooklyn for?
- 20:53Speaker 2: I follow you there for story you were working.
- 20:55Speaker 6: I don't know what you had your microphone, but two
- 20:57Speaker 6: you had it all for the when I spoke to you,
- 21:00Speaker 6: But I don't remember exactly you know what you were
- 21:02Speaker 6: doing there? I was still I had my call being repaired.
- 21:05Speaker 6: That's why I was on thirty ninth stream. Can like
- 21:08Speaker 6: to say something. I am a new York Mets fan
- 21:12Speaker 6: disappointed New York Met fan, but I still miss Kate
- 21:16Speaker 6: Smith singing God Bless America at the end of the
- 21:21Speaker 6: seventh and in Yankee Stadium. I don't know whatever happened.
- 21:25Speaker 6: I know she must have said something when she was
- 21:28Speaker 6: young to hurt some people. But I growing up in
- 21:33Speaker 6: New York, I'm sure you said and I said something
- 21:37Speaker 6: to hurt somebody in anger that we regret. I still
- 21:42Speaker 6: miss her voice. I don't like Donald Merrill whatever is.
- 21:47Speaker 6: I forgot his name already, but I just wish they
- 21:50Speaker 6: would put her back on to sing God Bless America.
- 21:54Speaker 2: And she was, I mean, she was one of the
- 21:56Speaker 2: classic voices Broadway voice in a Kate Smith and God.
- 22:00Speaker 3: I'm maraga all the.
- 22:01Speaker 2: Old tape recordings of her singing that powerful God Bless America.
- 22:05Speaker 2: It seems like we we've gotten away from that. You
- 22:07Speaker 2: notice they don't do a lot of any anything that
- 22:09Speaker 2: mentions God. They try to get away from whatever. But
- 22:13Speaker 2: I'm within, Yes, my family are all Mets fans too,
- 22:15Speaker 2: so we're suffering the pain right now as well. Maybe
- 22:19Speaker 2: maybe it is a mayor's curse. You believe it's a
- 22:20Speaker 2: mayor's curse.
- 22:21Speaker 6: Cause on this I think so.
- 22:25Speaker 4: Well.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Gee, I thank you so much for calling. Let's remember
- 22:29Speaker 2: the people who sacrifice their lives for us on this
- 22:31Speaker 2: Memorial Day, and hopefully you have some time with family
- 22:34Speaker 2: and we appreciate the call. Ging, thank you so much
- 22:36Speaker 2: for calling in.
- 22:37Speaker 1: This is the Mark Simone Show on seven ten Wi
- 22:41Speaker 1: kin from Mark today.
- 22:42Speaker 3: Here's Ken Rosatto.
- 22:45Speaker 2: And a very good Monday to you. Seven ten wor
- 22:48Speaker 2: You are listening to the Mark Simone Show on Memorial Day,
- 22:51Speaker 2: Monday morning, the day we honor our fallen military heroes.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Good to be in for Mark today and Mark will
- 22:57Speaker 2: be back in the seat tomorrow. So I'm promised to
- 22:59Speaker 2: dust everything Mark. I use the disinfectant wipes and everything
- 23:02Speaker 2: big of me right. Well, on these days off, people
- 23:06Speaker 2: do look for things to do. Showbiz four to one
- 23:08Speaker 2: one's Roger Friedman knows more about entertainment than just about
- 23:11Speaker 2: anybody else. Good morning to you, Roger.
- 23:13Speaker 8: Good morning. I don't know about that, but we'll see.
- 23:16Speaker 2: Well, listen, I do know one thing because I actually
- 23:20Speaker 2: read Showbiz four one one. So the Devil Wears product
- 23:23Speaker 2: too is en fuego surpassing what six hundred plus million dollars?
- 23:28Speaker 8: Yeah, it's been a huge hit.
- 23:30Speaker 9: I mean, nobody expected this, but people really it's sort
- 23:35Speaker 9: of like a redux of the first movie from twenty
- 23:39Speaker 9: years ago, and people loved those characters and the fact
- 23:42Speaker 9: that they're all still around and that they look great,
- 23:45Speaker 9: and it's a witty script. It's not really much different
- 23:49Speaker 9: from the first movie, but there's a couple of a
- 23:51Speaker 9: couple of new things, and the audience seems to just
- 23:56Speaker 9: eat it up with a spoon, so good for them.
- 23:59Speaker 8: It can't hurt. It's like a great dessert, you know.
- 24:02Speaker 2: But it's the good thing is you have a whole
- 24:04Speaker 2: generation of people who were babies when that came out
- 24:06Speaker 2: who just want to see this and are in love
- 24:08Speaker 2: with all these people all over again, thinking wow, Meryl Streep,
- 24:11Speaker 2: who's that you know? And what great actresses and actors
- 24:16Speaker 2: these people are, and to see the fabulous fashion and
- 24:19Speaker 2: everything else. So this was a big deal. I think
- 24:21Speaker 2: I know people who've gone back several times stat to
- 24:23Speaker 2: see it.
- 24:25Speaker 9: Well, it's good for Anne Hathaway because I think that
- 24:28Speaker 9: she has an oscar but she's been waiting for something
- 24:31Speaker 9: big to come along again and this is nice. Yeah,
- 24:33Speaker 9: so she's she rerely deserves the success, and Meryl Streep
- 24:37Speaker 9: is always terrific, and Emily Blunt is fun and Stanley
- 24:40Speaker 9: Tucci so so.
- 24:42Speaker 8: It's all good.
- 24:43Speaker 9: But I think the big movie of the weekend, and
- 24:46Speaker 9: the movie you could see today with this bad weather
- 24:49Speaker 9: is The Mandalorian and Grogu, which I loved a new
- 24:52Speaker 9: Star Wars movie.
- 24:53Speaker 2: And that made like one hundred it's like one hundred
- 24:55Speaker 2: and seventy mils so far or something like that, one
- 24:57Speaker 2: hundred and eighty mil.
- 24:58Speaker 9: Well, well, yeah, worldwide. Yeah, it's a huge, it's a
- 25:00Speaker 9: big hit. And as you watch the Mandalorian TV series,
- 25:04Speaker 9: which I didn't originally. Now I've gone back and looked
- 25:07Speaker 9: at it, but I wasn't following this when it was happening.
- 25:11Speaker 9: In the Mandalorian TV series is three seasons and it
- 25:14Speaker 9: leads up to this movie. And now, of course there'll
- 25:17Speaker 9: probably be two more movies. But it's it's totally charming.
- 25:23Speaker 9: It's just great, and it's a real escape from our reality,
- 25:27Speaker 9: which is pretty dire. So it's nice to get away
- 25:31Speaker 9: from everything and go visit with the Star Wars people.
- 25:36Speaker 9: And of course the mandal the Grogu, you know, is
- 25:39Speaker 9: like a little Yoda they don't say Yoda, but that's
- 25:41Speaker 9: he's apparently the baby Yoda or something like that. And
- 25:45Speaker 9: the Mandalorian is Pedro Pascal, who's sort of like an
- 25:48Speaker 9: early Han Solo kind of character.
- 25:50Speaker 2: And even the word Grogu doesn't that sound like a
- 25:52Speaker 2: cute little baby named.
- 25:54Speaker 9: Yes, he does. He's not a baby though. He's very smart.
- 25:59Speaker 9: I give him a lot of credit. He could get
- 26:01Speaker 9: Best Supporting Actor.
- 26:02Speaker 3: Wow.
- 26:04Speaker 8: So he's it's very good the Mandalorian.
- 26:07Speaker 9: And of course the Michael Jackson movie is booming, just
- 26:11Speaker 9: passed three hundred million dollars on this way to four
- 26:14Speaker 9: hundred and I just looked on iTunes on Amazon and
- 26:19Speaker 9: Michael Jackson's Thriller is number.
- 26:21Speaker 2: One, uh huh, no shots And he.
- 26:24Speaker 9: Has four other albums in the top ten and a
- 26:27Speaker 9: bunch more through the top one hundred. And this is amazing.
- 26:30Speaker 9: These out these songs are more than forty years old.
- 26:33Speaker 2: But they're timeless songs. These these were the reason why
- 26:36Speaker 2: they were such massive hits in the day is that
- 26:38Speaker 2: they're timeless. And you have younger people now listening to
- 26:42Speaker 2: it who never would have given it a listen because
- 26:44Speaker 2: we're in an error. Remember when we were kids. We
- 26:46Speaker 2: would listen to the radio and you could hear a
- 26:48Speaker 2: top forty station. You would be exposed to different music.
- 26:50Speaker 2: Today they're not. They listened to their They download their
- 26:52Speaker 2: one MP three that their friend heard on YouTube, and
- 26:55Speaker 2: that's why they they're exposed to music. I on the
- 26:58Speaker 2: show I do a new jury, see what I guess.
- 27:01Speaker 2: Last week we had the kid who played Tito in
- 27:04Speaker 2: Michael in the film and I asked him, I said,
- 27:07Speaker 2: you know, were you raised as a Michael Jackson fan
- 27:10Speaker 2: and he said, well, my parents only like seventeen.
- 27:13Speaker 3: He said.
- 27:13Speaker 2: My parents were listened, you know, years ago, and I
- 27:15Speaker 2: kind of thought it was great music, of course, but
- 27:17Speaker 2: then I had to become Tito, so I had to
- 27:20Speaker 2: learn everything. But it was fascinating to hear how he
- 27:22Speaker 2: developed the character. But it is timeless music.
- 27:26Speaker 9: Well, this is what's going to happen. Not next year,
- 27:29Speaker 9: but in April twenty twenty eight, there's going to be
- 27:32Speaker 9: the Four Beatles movies and that'll be something.
- 27:36Speaker 4: Now.
- 27:36Speaker 9: Paul McCartney has a new album coming out on Friday.
- 27:41Speaker 8: I don't know if you know about this.
- 27:42Speaker 9: It's called The Boys of Dungeon Lane, and they want
- 27:46Speaker 9: me to call it a masterpiece. It's hard for me
- 27:48Speaker 9: to call it a masterpiece because of Sergeant Pepper, Abby Road,
- 27:51Speaker 9: the White Album, Hate jud and all that. But you
- 27:54Speaker 9: know what, it's Paul McK it's a fabulous album and
- 27:57Speaker 9: it's probably his best album since two thousand and Evans.
- 28:00Speaker 9: It's a record called Flaming Pie. It's just a beautiful,
- 28:04Speaker 9: beautiful record with lots of potentials and very complex compositions
- 28:12Speaker 9: and arrangements and beauty, and it's very well sung. I
- 28:15Speaker 9: know he's sounded sort of rough on TV, but it
- 28:18Speaker 9: sounds great on the records.
- 28:20Speaker 2: Old he could sounds he could stand there and just
- 28:24Speaker 2: be Paul McCartney.
- 28:25Speaker 3: And I would watch well.
- 28:27Speaker 9: But he hasn't just stood there, which is the interesting thing,
- 28:30Speaker 9: because that's what I say in this review. I just
- 28:32Speaker 9: put up on Showbiz four on one. He could just
- 28:35Speaker 9: you know, do something, put it out and say that's it.
- 28:40Speaker 9: But he's really done. These are fourteen songs. There isn't
- 28:43Speaker 9: a dud in the bunch. They are all terrific, and
- 28:47Speaker 9: it's really kind of shocking that this stuff is still
- 28:50Speaker 9: pouring out of his head.
- 28:52Speaker 5: You know.
- 28:52Speaker 9: He said to Stephen Colbert a couple of years ago,
- 28:55Speaker 9: he was on Colbert and Colbert said to him, I
- 28:58Speaker 9: know everyone asks you this, but how do you keep writing?
- 29:00Speaker 8: How did you write these songs?
- 29:02Speaker 9: And he said he starts giving him a lot of
- 29:05Speaker 9: different reasons that Paul looks at him and he says, well,
- 29:07Speaker 9: maybe it's just that I'm a genius and he is,
- 29:10Speaker 9: and You're like, I think that's what it is. He
- 29:13Speaker 9: doesn't even really know how he writes the songs. They
- 29:15Speaker 9: just pour through him. And this new album is just
- 29:20Speaker 9: full of these songs. It's fascinating. And I've listened to
- 29:23Speaker 9: it about ten times already in the last week that
- 29:26Speaker 9: I've had it for review, and it's going to as
- 29:29Speaker 9: soon as the CD comes in, it's going to be
- 29:31Speaker 9: in my car forever.
- 29:32Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 29:33Speaker 2: And we only about a minute. Let but we can't
- 29:35Speaker 2: depart without talking about Billy Joel and how he wants
- 29:40Speaker 2: nothing in terms of a movie made about him. So
- 29:43Speaker 2: is it because of the rights to his music? Is
- 29:45Speaker 2: that what that's about?
- 29:46Speaker 8: No?
- 29:46Speaker 9: Now, this guy, there's a guy who is his manager
- 29:50Speaker 9: from nineteen sixty six to nineteen seventy two, when Billy
- 29:54Speaker 9: had a group called the Hassles. This was before he
- 29:56Speaker 9: became a solo artist, and the music's not very good.
- 30:00Speaker 9: Uh and and Billy owns all the music. But this
- 30:04Speaker 9: manager and then the manager, this manager has gone, I
- 30:06Speaker 9: know what he's heard from him again, and now after
- 30:09Speaker 9: all these years, he probably he's probably in his eighties,
- 30:12Speaker 9: and he wants to cash in on knowing Billy Joel.
- 30:16Speaker 9: So he commissioned someone to write a movie about his
- 30:18Speaker 9: time with Billy. But of course Billy owns the rights
- 30:22Speaker 9: to his own life story, and he own hits to
- 30:24Speaker 9: his songs. And this they've told this man several times,
- 30:29Speaker 9: you cannot make this movie, and he announced it. Anyway,
- 30:32Speaker 9: it's not gonna happen. There's this, there's no way it
- 30:35Speaker 9: can happen. And it's terrible when these old managers try
- 30:38Speaker 9: to come along, old people who used to know stars
- 30:40Speaker 9: come along and say, well, time to cash in on
- 30:43Speaker 9: the stars. You know, five decade career, I've done nothing
- 30:47Speaker 9: but wait for this. It's terrible, so kind of cheesy.
- 30:51Speaker 8: Well, Billy Joel's not going to happen.
- 30:53Speaker 2: Billy Joel deserves something great because he is an American icon.
- 30:56Speaker 2: There's no question you may or may or may not
- 30:58Speaker 2: like his music, but you can't deny it's brilliant music
- 31:01Speaker 2: and lots of it, and they were all massive hits.
- 31:03Speaker 9: You cannot like his music, of course, I can't forget
- 31:06Speaker 9: about it. You can't. Everyone should like everyone. One hundred
- 31:10Speaker 9: and fifty shows in Madison Square Garden. Hey tell us
- 31:13Speaker 9: you're how popular here?
- 31:14Speaker 2: Is always at least one song that you will love
- 31:17Speaker 2: that Billy Joel is right now, there's a lot of
- 31:19Speaker 2: them that I love. I mean, Bottle of Red about
- 31:21Speaker 2: why you know you can? How do you not love that?
- 31:23Speaker 9: That's just it's he's a and he's a great guy,
- 31:26Speaker 9: and he's a New York hero, and you know we
- 31:29Speaker 9: love him.
- 31:30Speaker 8: So we don't like people being taken a that's it,
- 31:33Speaker 8: Hub good right.
- 31:34Speaker 2: Good man, You're I totally agree with you and Billy Joel.
- 31:37Speaker 2: We are treasured. He is a treasure. I should say,
- 31:39Speaker 2: we are lucky to have you here in the New
- 31:41Speaker 2: York area all these years. Showbiz for one one's Roger Friedman.

- 32:20Speaker 2: You are on the air.
- 32:22Speaker 7: Yes, Ken, yes, yeah, Tell Nicky Shirley to stop warning
- 32:29Speaker 7: about ice and lower our lower our taxes and lower
- 32:35Speaker 7: are utilities and leave ice, let them do their job.
- 32:40Speaker 7: And that's the and then that's the deal.
- 32:43Speaker 3: I will you.
- 32:44Speaker 4: And the only way we're going.
- 32:45Speaker 7: To stop her is all your Republicans get out and
- 32:48Speaker 7: vote in the primary next Tuesday.
- 32:51Speaker 3: All right, you mean Nikey Cheryl. I was saying.
- 32:54Speaker 2: It took me about five minutes. And who the heck
- 32:56Speaker 2: is Nicky.
- 32:56Speaker 7: Shirley Surly is the guy with the fraud?
- 33:00Speaker 2: Oh that's oh yeah, that's I know. Give me the
- 33:02Speaker 2: kid who went to Minnesota and.
- 33:06Speaker 7: I read in my paper she worried about ice. Let
- 33:09Speaker 7: ice do their job.
- 33:11Speaker 2: You know what it is. She wants to get reelected.
- 33:14Speaker 2: So badly, and she could taste it, and that's all
- 33:17Speaker 2: she's playing the game. Mikey Cheryl is so protected and
- 33:21Speaker 2: insulated in New Jersey. Her people, her handlers, will not
- 33:24Speaker 2: let her do any show other than MS now. They
- 33:27Speaker 2: will not let her on. There maybe an occasional CNN
- 33:30Speaker 2: if it's not friendly media, they won't let her on.
- 33:33Speaker 3: Listen.
- 33:33Speaker 2: I'm a journalist thirty years in the New York area,
- 33:35Speaker 2: forty years overall. Right, I've won seven Emmy Awards. I
- 33:40Speaker 2: want about a half dozen other awards. You would think
- 33:43Speaker 2: if there's anyone she would talk to. And I've always
- 33:45Speaker 2: given politicians a fair shake. I've interviewed probably twenty twenty
- 33:50Speaker 2: five major politicians, including three presidents. I would give Mikey
- 33:54Speaker 2: Cheryl a very fair time. Right, she refuses to let
- 33:59Speaker 2: me sit down and talk to her.
- 34:00Speaker 3: She will not do it.
- 34:01Speaker 2: So there you go. You know, I mean, hey, what
- 34:03Speaker 2: do you think I'm gonna do?
- 34:04Speaker 3: Bite?
- 34:05Speaker 2: But her press secretary says, have.
- 34:08Speaker 3: You ever heard of what Rosatto says about Mikey Cheryl?
- 34:11Speaker 2: What did I say about Mikey Cheryl? If she gets
- 34:14Speaker 2: called a task, we're going to call her to task
- 34:16Speaker 2: on things. But she is welcome to refute what I say.
- 34:20Speaker 2: She's a big person.
- 34:21Speaker 3: She can do that.
- 34:22Speaker 2: Put on your governor's pants and come and sit down
- 34:24Speaker 2: and talk to us. We appreciate the phone call. Thank
- 34:27Speaker 2: you very much. The number again, eight hundred three to
- 34:28Speaker 2: two one zero seven ten. Eight hundred three to two
- 34:31Speaker 2: one zero seven ten. You're listening to seven ten wo
- 34:34Speaker 2: r the voice of New York. Ken Rosotto went from Mark,
- 34:37Speaker 2: We're back after the.
- 34:38Speaker 1: News now the Mark Simone Show on seven ten. Woor
- 34:43Speaker 1: filling in for Mark. Here's Ken Rosotto.
- 34:47Speaker 2: And nice to be with you.
- 34:48Speaker 3: On Memorial Day.
- 34:49Speaker 2: Mark off today hopefully enjoying his day, spending time with
- 34:52Speaker 2: family and friends, enjoying the freedoms that somebody fought and
- 34:55Speaker 2: died for. We hope the same two that you are
- 34:58Speaker 2: enjoying time with your family and friends. But remember that
- 35:01Speaker 2: this is why our vets who lost their lives defending
- 35:04Speaker 2: our country did so so that we don't have to
- 35:06Speaker 2: worry about being attacked, that we could enjoy our time
- 35:09Speaker 2: with family and friends. But that doesn't mean we should
- 35:11Speaker 2: forget them. Always take a moment, especially on a day
- 35:15Speaker 2: like this, to lift a toast, or to say thank you,
- 35:19Speaker 2: or say a prayer or just a moment of silence.
- 35:22Speaker 3: Anything.
- 35:23Speaker 2: Put out a flag today or approach a vet, do
- 35:26Speaker 2: something to show your gratitude toward or for those people
- 35:30Speaker 2: who fought and died for us, or who died in training,
- 35:33Speaker 2: or who died after they got back from war because
- 35:36Speaker 2: of exposure to a chemical or something. These people really
- 35:40Speaker 2: gave it all. I mean we say gave it all
- 35:42Speaker 2: for a lot of things. They truly gave it all.
- 35:45Speaker 2: And we thank all those people who sacrificed the ultimate
- 35:48Speaker 2: sacrifice so that we can enjoy our country. Seven ten
- 35:51Speaker 2: war the voice of New York. This is Ken Rosatto.
- 35:54Speaker 2: Thank you Marx Simon for letting me sit here today.
- 35:56Speaker 2: Also the time cutty, are all the good folks here
- 35:58Speaker 2: at iHeart and wr for letting me sit behind the
- 36:01Speaker 2: microphone enjoy it these days have those who don't remember,
- 36:04Speaker 2: I used to be on Channel seven for twenty years.
- 36:07Speaker 2: I was the morning anchor. In many of those years,
- 36:09Speaker 2: I was also the new anchor at Channel seven, and
- 36:12Speaker 2: then I was also a Channel five. I anchored Good
- 36:15Speaker 2: Day New York for a while before then. These days
- 36:17Speaker 2: am on on New Jersey, which is a New Jersey
- 36:20Speaker 2: news channel statewide and you could get catch it anywhere
- 36:23Speaker 2: online ONNJ dot com.
- 36:25Speaker 3: You don't just have to be in New Jersey.
- 36:27Speaker 2: Hopefully, if you get a moment, you give us a try.
- 36:30Speaker 2: Take a look at us o NNJ dot com. And
- 36:32Speaker 2: I'm there every day, So it's always nice to come
- 36:34Speaker 2: over back over the Hudson River though into Manhattan to
- 36:38Speaker 2: host the Mark Simone Show for the Great Mark Simone
- 36:41Speaker 2: at seven ten wor anyway we want to pass on that,
- 36:45Speaker 2: we will take your calls at eight hundred three to
- 36:47Speaker 2: two one zero seven ten, eight hundred three to two
- 36:50Speaker 2: to one zero seven ten. For those who are thinking
- 36:54Speaker 2: about a summer vacation and you were thinking about jet
- 36:57Speaker 2: setting off to Europe, well you might to keep those
- 37:00Speaker 2: fingers crossed because of what is going on in terms
- 37:03Speaker 2: of fuel right now around the world. Yes, we have
- 37:06Speaker 2: tons of fuel here in the United States. We're producing
- 37:09Speaker 2: more than enough. In fact, we are a net exporter
- 37:12Speaker 2: of oil and fuel. Because President Trump has taken off
- 37:17Speaker 2: the the what's the word I'm looking for, He's basically
- 37:22Speaker 2: gotten rid of a lot of the environmental restrictions.
- 37:24Speaker 3: If you will that, yes, thank.
- 37:26Speaker 2: You, crash our earsid you mean take the gloves off
- 37:31Speaker 2: can yes, thank you, crash crash at is coffee.
- 37:33Speaker 3: I didn't.
- 37:34Speaker 2: And so as a result, we have an abundance of
- 37:37Speaker 2: fuel which has kept oil prices in check here. But
- 37:41Speaker 2: I know because of what's going out of the Strait
- 37:43Speaker 2: of hour moves with Iran, prices have come up, but
- 37:45Speaker 2: they've come up a lot more. I don't mean to
- 37:47Speaker 2: juggle like we have nothing. We're paying nothing compared to
- 37:49Speaker 2: what that paying in Europe right now because the cost
- 37:52Speaker 2: of oil there is so high. Remember Russia, China and
- 37:55Speaker 2: much of Europe gets a lot of its oil from
- 37:58Speaker 2: the area. That is the rate of horror moves. And
- 38:01Speaker 2: right now fuel prices are very high. Well for jets
- 38:04Speaker 2: they require that jet fuel, and right now there is
- 38:08Speaker 2: a major shortage in Europe of jet fuel. So you
- 38:12Speaker 2: can get jet fuel here, tons of it. We have
- 38:14Speaker 2: an ample supply. Problem is once the jet flies to Europe,
- 38:18Speaker 2: it has to fly back right so it doesn't have
- 38:21Speaker 2: an available supply. So there are many airlines, many of
- 38:25Speaker 2: the biggies have canceled flights coming from Europe back to
- 38:30Speaker 2: the United States. So if you are looking to fly
- 38:32Speaker 2: around trip might be able to get there and can't
- 38:34Speaker 2: get back if you're looking to fly around trip, just
- 38:36Speaker 2: check with your carrier. They started in the past week
- 38:39Speaker 2: or so canceling a lot of European flights or not
- 38:43Speaker 2: flying to certain destinations. You might win to check ahead
- 38:47Speaker 2: or have a contingency plan, or hopefully you have flight
- 38:50Speaker 2: insurance or travel insurance and you make sure that you're
- 38:52Speaker 2: backed up. Although now I'm reading that many of the
- 38:56Speaker 2: travel insurance companies do not account for something that is
- 39:00Speaker 2: out of their control, like a shortage of jet fuel,
- 39:04Speaker 2: so they may or may not cover you for that.
- 39:06Speaker 2: So even then, if you're going to buy flight insurance
- 39:08Speaker 2: or travel insurance, make sure that something like a flight
- 39:12Speaker 2: being canceled due to jet fuel shortages that is covered.
- 39:16Speaker 2: But we hope you enjoy your summer one way or
- 39:17Speaker 2: the other. Remember there are plenty of good places right
- 39:20Speaker 2: here in the US. Think back five years during the pandemic.
- 39:25Speaker 2: I remember we were supposed to fly to Portugal and
- 39:29Speaker 2: we couldn't because we would have been quarantined in Portugal
- 39:33Speaker 2: for two weeks. And that was my vacation time was
- 39:36Speaker 2: two weeks. So what would the point have been. You
- 39:38Speaker 2: fly there for two weeks in quarantine, you come back.
- 39:40Speaker 2: So we decided to do a bunch of regional trips,
- 39:43Speaker 2: and I'm glad we did. We went to Newport, Rhode Island.
- 39:46Speaker 2: I have never been. It was phenomenal, just a beautiful
- 39:50Speaker 2: place to go to, and it's driving distance. You can
- 39:53Speaker 2: go to so many places in Pennsylvania that had just
- 39:55Speaker 2: gorgeous the lakes. Go upstate New York, they're beautiful places.
- 39:59Speaker 2: Go to like George is if you've never been, it's gorgeous.
- 40:04Speaker 2: Go out to Montauku. There are some wonderful places all
- 40:07Speaker 2: within driving distance of here. Go down the Jersey Shore,
- 40:11Speaker 2: go to the mountains, the mountains northwestern New Jersey. You think, well,
- 40:16Speaker 2: that's great for the winter, ken it's wonderful. In the summer,
- 40:19Speaker 2: it's terrific. There are amusement parks there and everything. So
- 40:22Speaker 2: there are plenty of places you could drive to within
- 40:24Speaker 2: a couple of hours and have a wonderful time. In
- 40:27Speaker 2: the event that your jet to Europe, your flight to
- 40:30Speaker 2: Europe is canceled because of fuel situations right now presenting themselves,
- 40:36Speaker 2: the fingers crossed that President Trump, he's hoping maybe in
- 40:39Speaker 2: the next few days we will have some kind of
- 40:41Speaker 2: resolution in Iran. But one thing that is good about
- 40:44Speaker 2: this president is he is not just going to settle
- 40:47Speaker 2: for something. He wants the right deal, or else there
- 40:50Speaker 2: will be no deal. He's made that amply clear. Seven
- 40:53Speaker 2: ten w R The Voice of New York. If you
- 40:55Speaker 2: want to give us a call, the numbers eight hundred
- 40:56Speaker 2: and three to two, one zero, seven to ten. Well,
- 41:00Speaker 2: we have the funniest butt kisser of a politician whoever existed,
- 41:03Speaker 2: it seems, in the state of New York. Kathy hokel
- 41:05Speaker 2: O katihokol I was reluctant say I know, I'm sorry.
- 41:08Speaker 2: I shouldn't making fun of those awful caps that she has,
- 41:11Speaker 2: but I can't help myself because I'm a very bad
- 41:14Speaker 2: Catholic when it comes to that. Sorry, Kathy, it's like
- 41:18Speaker 2: she had a twofer two for one. I get both
- 41:20Speaker 2: front teeth of the same fifty dollars from the dentist
- 41:22Speaker 2: on the corner in Buffalo. The good governors decided that
- 41:26Speaker 2: she would codify that which already unofficially exists throughout the
- 41:29Speaker 2: state and has for years, and that is that New
- 41:32Speaker 2: York is now officially and publicly a sanctuary state. Before
- 41:36Speaker 2: they said, oh, we're not a sanctuary state, even though
- 41:38Speaker 2: we followed all the sanctuary policies and that law enforcement
- 41:42Speaker 2: couldn't reach out to federal law enforcement because of people
- 41:46Speaker 2: who are here illegally. Now I ask you, o, fellow
- 41:50Speaker 2: taxpayer New Yorker, and yes, I am a fellow taxpayer
- 41:53Speaker 2: New Yorker, even though I live in New Jersey. Because
- 41:55Speaker 2: when you work in New York City, you have to
- 41:56Speaker 2: pay city taxes and state taxes even if you live here.
- 42:01Speaker 2: What benefit to you and the State of New York
- 42:05Speaker 2: is there by officially mandating that New York be a
- 42:08Speaker 2: sanctuary state. When you elect somebody governor, they're supposed to
- 42:13Speaker 2: be the person you elect to benefit you and your family.
- 42:16Speaker 2: All Right, You work hard, you pay taxes, and then
- 42:20Speaker 2: they take your money, your tax money, and they give
- 42:22Speaker 2: it to people who shouldn't even be here legally. They're
- 42:24Speaker 2: not here legally. That is so why why would you
- 42:28Speaker 2: keep voting for these people? What is the point? And
- 42:32Speaker 2: again to what benefit? How does it benefit the state
- 42:36Speaker 2: that you would elect somebody who would create a sanctuary
- 42:39Speaker 2: state status in New York. I want you to think
- 42:43Speaker 2: about what it means to have millions of illegal migrants
- 42:48Speaker 2: in the state of New York and by the way.
- 42:50Speaker 2: I am not against people who come from another country.
- 42:53Speaker 2: That is perfect. That is fine. There is a legal
- 42:55Speaker 2: process to do it. But ken the migration system is broken.
- 43:00Speaker 3: No, it is not.
- 43:01Speaker 2: It's only broken for those of you who want people
- 43:04Speaker 2: to come in illegally and vote Democrat, then it's broken
- 43:07Speaker 2: because you want twenty thirty million more like you got
- 43:10Speaker 2: under the Biden administration. For those of us who want
- 43:13Speaker 2: it done fairly, where you come in in limited numbers
- 43:16Speaker 2: so you can properly incorporate into society or be incorporated
- 43:20Speaker 2: in our society and become a successful and happy American.
- 43:25Speaker 2: For those of us who want it the way, it
- 43:27Speaker 2: is legal, so we could do so to the tune
- 43:30Speaker 2: of one, two or three million a year, which is
- 43:32Speaker 2: what we allow. You know that we allow more people
- 43:36Speaker 2: to become citizens of the United States every year than
- 43:40Speaker 2: every other single country on the planet combined. So what
- 43:45Speaker 2: I hear, Oh, it's a broken immigration system. There is
- 43:47Speaker 2: nothing broken. We are extremely generous, more generous than anyone
- 43:51Speaker 2: and everyone else combined. So we allow millions in through
- 43:56Speaker 2: the legal process in this country every year, and you
- 43:59Speaker 2: just have to follow the process. Can we allow everybody
- 44:03Speaker 2: on the planet who wants to come in seven billion
- 44:06Speaker 2: people know as the people on the left left to say,
- 44:10Speaker 2: it's unsustainable, and it is unsustainable. We only have a
- 44:13Speaker 2: limited amount of space and our economy would collapse if
- 44:16Speaker 2: we let everyone wants to be here to come in.
- 44:20Speaker 2: Makes me a laugh of other people protesting who hate
- 44:22Speaker 2: this country so much, and yet somehow millions of people
- 44:25Speaker 2: are breaking down the doors to come in every year.
- 44:27Speaker 2: Why don't we swap? Why don't you go to Lithuania
- 44:30Speaker 2: or Italy or Botswana or wherever else these people are
- 44:33Speaker 2: coming in from, And why don't you go there swap
- 44:36Speaker 2: because you don't want to be here. Go ahead, go
- 44:38Speaker 2: over and see how you like you know whatever, Southern Googuziah, wherever.
- 44:43Speaker 2: Go see how you like it. And then come back
- 44:45Speaker 2: after a year and write a little report on what
- 44:48Speaker 2: it's like not to be able to earn a living
- 44:51Speaker 2: or be able to speak publicly or post something on
- 44:54Speaker 2: social media and getting arrested and having somebody knock down
- 44:56Speaker 2: your door because you're gay or bisexual or lives with
- 44:59Speaker 2: somebody married or whatever. You got to do that and
- 45:02Speaker 2: come back and let us know how you like it.
- 45:04Speaker 2: Seven to ten w R The Voice of New York
- 45:06Speaker 2: something that was brought up to me that I didn't
- 45:09Speaker 2: even realize. Think about this state of New Jersey as
- 45:13Speaker 2: nine million residents, nearly a million additional people are there illegally.
- 45:19Speaker 2: So think about that number, like twelve percent of the
- 45:22Speaker 2: state right now is there illegally, which is just obscene,
- 45:25Speaker 2: an obscene number. Okay, here's what it does to the
- 45:31Speaker 2: environment when you have twelve percent of the people just
- 45:35Speaker 2: piled in who shouldn't be there, who were unaccounted for
- 45:39Speaker 2: in the beginning. So we did not build an infrastructure
- 45:41Speaker 2: for them, We didn't create the extra classroom spaces for them.
- 45:46Speaker 2: So all the liberals in the nineties and the year
- 45:49Speaker 2: the early two thousands of late eighties, all we heard
- 45:51Speaker 2: from the school unions, et cetera, the teachers' unions, is
- 45:55Speaker 2: in order to have an effective classroom size, you need
- 45:58Speaker 2: you need no more than twelve to five fifteen students
- 46:01Speaker 2: per teacher. Then we can have an effective classroom size.
- 46:04Speaker 2: But it's okay. Those same liberals don't mind when fifteen
- 46:07Speaker 2: other kids come in who were here illegally, that's okay.
- 46:10Speaker 2: Then they don't complain. So suddenly the classroom is back
- 46:13Speaker 2: up to thirty kids because fifteen unaccounted for illegal kids
- 46:18Speaker 2: have come in and by law, we have to educate them.
- 46:21Speaker 2: And I'm fine with that. But all of a sudden,
- 46:24Speaker 2: you have thirty kids in a classroom. We're back to
- 46:25Speaker 2: where we were before. So now we don't have the
- 46:28Speaker 2: ability to have the attention focused on twelve to fifteen kids.
- 46:32Speaker 2: Not only do we now have thirty kids jammed in
- 46:34Speaker 2: a classroom, but now they're multi lingual, so the teacher
- 46:37Speaker 2: can't focus on just teaching things in English. Now we
- 46:42Speaker 2: have to have teachers who speak different languages, who cost
- 46:44Speaker 2: these schools, the school system way more money because they
- 46:48Speaker 2: have to speak other languages to kids who come here.
- 46:50Speaker 2: This is how it impacts society. What do we end
- 46:53Speaker 2: up doing when we have millions of extra people jamming
- 46:56Speaker 2: the streets of New York. Oh, let's just charge congestion
- 46:59Speaker 2: pricing to everybody else. So now I have to pay
- 47:02Speaker 2: extra money because you lawmakers have turned a blind eye
- 47:06Speaker 2: and allowed all these people who are here illegally to
- 47:09Speaker 2: continue being here. Crime is being committed. Oh, by the way,
- 47:11Speaker 2: that's one of my other favorites. My Democrat lawmaker friends say, ken,
- 47:15Speaker 2: it is a fact. It is a fact that illegal
- 47:18Speaker 2: migrants as you like to call them, and nobody is illegal.
- 47:21Speaker 3: Ken.
- 47:22Speaker 2: Illegal migrants cause fewer crimes than citizens.
- 47:27Speaker 8: Bull.
- 47:28Speaker 2: And here's why it's bull. Do you know, in the
- 47:30Speaker 2: city of New York, it is against the law for
- 47:33Speaker 2: law enforcement to inquire as to somebody's citizenship status. So
- 47:37Speaker 2: if you can't even ask if they're here illegally, and
- 47:40Speaker 2: somebody commits a crime, how do you know if they're
- 47:42Speaker 2: here illegally or not? You don't, right, so police arrest
- 47:46Speaker 2: you for committing a crime. You are forbidden by law
- 47:50Speaker 2: from asking what is your citizenship status? So when you
- 47:54Speaker 2: file a report on that individual who committed the crime,
- 47:57Speaker 2: there's no way of knowing if they're a citizen or not.
- 48:00Speaker 2: So these statistics are skewed because they love to say,
- 48:04Speaker 2: then all these people committed crimes, they're all Americans because
- 48:07Speaker 2: we don't know that they're illegal. We don't know that
- 48:09Speaker 2: they're illegal because the people on the left on purpose
- 48:14Speaker 2: do not ask, and do not permit us to ask
- 48:16Speaker 2: if they're here illegally or not, because then their cover
- 48:19Speaker 2: would be blown. That's the game being played by the
- 48:22Speaker 2: left right now, and this has been played for years.
- 48:24Speaker 2: They play with these statistics. Just like Alvin Bragg comes
- 48:27Speaker 2: into office and says he refuses to prosecute these two
- 48:30Speaker 2: hundred crimes that are on the books, that are passed
- 48:33Speaker 2: by lawmakers as illegal. Well, he's not going to prosecute
- 48:36Speaker 2: it because he feels that people in the black and
- 48:38Speaker 2: brown community were unfairly targeted in those laws. But what
- 48:43Speaker 2: ends up happening is the next year he says crime
- 48:45Speaker 2: is down. No, crime isn't down. You just refuse to
- 48:48Speaker 2: prosecute these two hundred crimes.
- 48:51Speaker 3: Ergo.
- 48:51Speaker 2: Crime looks down on paper, but crime is up in
- 48:54Speaker 2: many cases, especially serious crime, crime involving injuring other people,
- 48:58Speaker 2: are killing other people. That's actually gone up, but it
- 49:01Speaker 2: gets reported differently. And so we end up having these
- 49:04Speaker 2: liberal politicians saying, look at us, you're like Democrats, and look,
- 49:08Speaker 2: crime is down. It's a nice game, guys, but we're
- 49:11Speaker 2: on to you now, all right, we're on to you.
- 49:13Speaker 2: So you may have fooled some people at this point,
- 49:16Speaker 2: but you're not fooling all people. Come out with the
- 49:18Speaker 2: real statistics. Talk to the rank and file police officers
- 49:21Speaker 2: on the street. You know that crime is knocked down
- 49:23Speaker 2: in the city of New York, but It's just funny
- 49:25Speaker 2: that in the sanctuary cities and states it always appears
- 49:28Speaker 2: on paper crime is down. Then do a little analyzing,
- 49:30Speaker 2: you'll find out that the very people who say the
- 49:33Speaker 2: crime is down are the people who are covering for
- 49:36Speaker 2: the people here illegally. You cannot increase the population by
- 49:39Speaker 2: twelve percent overnight like they have in the state of
- 49:42Speaker 2: New Jersey and have everything go smoothly. Buildings that were
- 49:45Speaker 2: meant to have two people per apartments suddenly having twelve
- 49:48Speaker 2: people per apartment, and the plumbing and the electrical and
- 49:51Speaker 2: everything else. The water supply was not meant to handle
- 49:54Speaker 2: that huge influx of population. So it's not just about
- 49:58Speaker 2: not being nice to the immigrants. Can you that nice
- 50:00Speaker 2: the immigrants? Everything collapses if you don't do it right,
- 50:05Speaker 2: If you don't allow people in the right and legal way,
- 50:08Speaker 2: everything will collapse. So you can have legal migration in
- 50:11Speaker 2: this country, but you gotta do it the right way.

- 50:38Speaker 2: a bit, Russians might be hacking your computer.

- 50:41Speaker 2: We're gonna speak with a tech expert all about it.
- 50:44Speaker 2: You're gonna want to hear it.

- 50:49Speaker 1: in from Mark today, Here's Ken Rosotto.
- 50:53Speaker 2: Good to be with you at seven ten wo r.
- 50:55Speaker 2: Let's go straight to the busy phones. I got two
- 50:57Speaker 2: mics at the very top, one from Nutley, one Fromerto Rico.
- 51:00Speaker 2: So I'll tell you what. Just Mike and Nutley hang
- 51:02Speaker 2: on there. Let's go to Puerto Rico.
- 51:04Speaker 3: First. Good morning to you, Mike and Puerto Rico.
- 51:07Speaker 4: Good morning, another beautiful day here. Of course, I.
- 51:10Speaker 2: Love it, love it. How long ago are you from
- 51:11Speaker 2: Puerto Rico or did you move there?
- 51:14Speaker 4: I moved here about thirty years ago. I've been coming
- 51:17Speaker 4: down here since nineteen seventy when I used to work
- 51:20Speaker 4: for the government.
- 51:21Speaker 2: Ah nice, well, I'm jealous I hope you enjoy your day.
- 51:25Speaker 4: I believe me. It's spectactuar. But I just wanted to
- 51:27Speaker 4: make a statement. People don't understand us. They really have
- 51:31Speaker 4: no concept of what Puerto Rico is. We just passed
- 51:34Speaker 4: a law that says life begins at conception and the
- 51:39Speaker 4: person in the womb is a person and has we're
- 51:41Speaker 4: all the rights of person each. Democrats have no concept
- 51:44Speaker 4: to what we're like. You know, we closed the stores
- 51:48Speaker 4: on Easter Sunday and Good Friday. What do they think
- 51:51Speaker 4: we're gonna do? Vote for these wackos up north. I
- 51:55Speaker 4: personally don't want to be a stake. I love it
- 51:57Speaker 4: the way it is. But they don't understand us at all.
- 52:00Speaker 4: I swear they don't.
- 52:00Speaker 2: They just assume they want you. They want the votes.
- 52:04Speaker 2: They want the two Senate seats, they want the congressional
- 52:07Speaker 2: seat that votes. Now there, I guess there is a
- 52:09Speaker 2: There is a non voting representative that comes from Puerto Rico.
- 52:12Speaker 2: Correct for for the the House.
- 52:14Speaker 4: That's so, that's correct. We have a whichqught a commissioner. However,
- 52:18Speaker 4: what makes them think we're going to vote with Democrat?
- 52:22Speaker 4: What makes them they assume?
- 52:24Speaker 2: You know what it is because many of the Puerto
- 52:26Speaker 2: Rican folks and by the way, a married to somebody
- 52:28Speaker 2: who's haf Puerto Rican, many of the Puerto Rican folks
- 52:30Speaker 2: who come to the mainland of the United States. And yes,
- 52:33Speaker 2: for those who don't realize, Puerto Rico is part of
- 52:35Speaker 2: the United States. But it is not a state.
- 52:37Speaker 3: It's a territory.
- 52:39Speaker 2: But am I right? Is it a territory technically, Well.
- 52:42Speaker 4: It's a territory. It's a territory. But we have special status.
- 52:46Speaker 4: I mean, if you come from the Virgin Island, you
- 52:48Speaker 4: need a passport to come in a United States the
- 52:50Speaker 4: Puerto Ricano we get on, we get off in any
- 52:53Speaker 4: other state. Interesting, now, it's it's not where we don't
- 52:58Speaker 4: have the vote in the national elections. That It's true.
- 53:01Speaker 4: And personally I don't mix it. I don't miss it
- 53:03Speaker 4: at all. We vote locally. I vote locally. I don't
- 53:07Speaker 4: know whether my party is considered a Republican and a Democrat,
- 53:10Speaker 4: have no idea. It's more issue arranted were.
- 53:13Speaker 2: You but you were born on the mainland though, right,
- 53:15Speaker 2: So when you moved to Puerto Rico from the mainland,
- 53:18Speaker 2: do you lose the ability to vote for the presidential election?
- 53:21Speaker 2: I guess because you're no longer a citizen or not,
- 53:24Speaker 2: you're that you're not a citizen, but you're not a
- 53:26Speaker 2: resident of the mainland. Once you go to Puerto Rico,
- 53:28Speaker 2: you lose that.
- 53:29Speaker 4: About one I was on. Yeah, I voted when I
- 53:31Speaker 4: was on the mainland. I'm a disabled that from Vietnam
- 53:34Speaker 4: a long long time ago. So the the I don't
- 53:38Speaker 4: miss voting in the States. It's too crazy now anyway.
- 53:41Speaker 4: I mean, I would probably vote for President Trump. He
- 53:43Speaker 4: seems like an American, good guy, stand up guy. But
- 53:46Speaker 4: these these Democrats that assume, oh, well, everybody in Puerto
- 53:50Speaker 4: Rico has got browns fan the Democrats. It's not true.
- 53:54Speaker 3: This is true.
- 53:54Speaker 4: I don't even know if it would be Democrat senators
- 53:57Speaker 4: from Puerto Rico. It's hard to tell. I mean, most
- 54:00Speaker 4: of my friends would probably vote Republican, be honest, if
- 54:04Speaker 4: they were voting in a federal.
- 54:05Speaker 2: Election, and even if they would have voted Democrat at
- 54:07Speaker 2: one point in times, they are a change and a
- 54:09Speaker 2: lot of people have their eyes wide open.
- 54:11Speaker 3: And they're taking a look at everything.
- 54:12Speaker 2: Mike, in Puerto Rico, enjoy your the sunshine, but we
- 54:16Speaker 2: remember our vets and thank you for serving our country. Sir,
- 54:18Speaker 2: I appreciate you for being on with us. Let's go
- 54:21Speaker 2: to Mike in Nutley, New Jersey. I used to live
- 54:23Speaker 2: right next door in Belleville, Mike. How are you, sir, Mike, Yeah,
- 54:29Speaker 2: let's go. Let's hit it again. Here we go, Mike
- 54:31Speaker 2: and Nutley. I'm sorry, I didn't press the button properly.
- 54:33Speaker 2: How are you, sir?
- 54:35Speaker 10: Hi Ken, I'm doing okay. This is my I have
- 54:37Speaker 10: a message to President Trump and the d O Jane.
- 54:40Speaker 10: This is my message. Since you're going after Hassan Piker
- 54:43Speaker 10: for being a trader and popping up Cuba, you should
- 54:48Speaker 10: also go after these women of the view because on
- 54:51Speaker 10: our own soil have you have on Sunny Halston publicly
- 54:56Speaker 10: saying many times on the show, publicly saying that the
- 55:00Speaker 10: ward that we're having with Iran on the President Trump
- 55:03Speaker 10: is unconstitutional. What she's actually doing is encouraging the soldiers
- 55:09Speaker 10: in the Iranian regime to hurt our military forces.
- 55:13Speaker 2: Well, I'm gonna pausure one second right there, only because
- 55:15Speaker 2: we're tired on time.
- 55:16Speaker 3: Mike.
- 55:17Speaker 2: They're actually doing something right now about it, and that
- 55:19Speaker 2: is they have the FCC investigating the broadcast licenses of
- 55:24Speaker 2: all the ABC owned TV stations, and it's based primarily
- 55:29Speaker 2: on what the women of the View have said. And
- 55:32Speaker 2: the reason why they did that is because on the
- 55:35Speaker 2: View they ABC at one point. And remember I used
- 55:39Speaker 2: to work for the company. I don't work for them anymore,
- 55:41Speaker 2: but they used to have the View under their entertainment division.
- 55:45Speaker 2: Then they had it under their news division, and I believe,
- 55:48Speaker 2: and I don't know for sure, but I believe it
- 55:50Speaker 2: is back under their entertainment division. If it's under the
- 55:52Speaker 2: entertainment division, then it must allow equal time when they're
- 55:57Speaker 2: talking candidates, and apparently they had on one candidate not another,
- 56:01Speaker 2: and so that's something.
- 56:02Speaker 3: That will be brought up.
- 56:04Speaker 2: However, the way the FCC works, the FCC can't proactively
- 56:07Speaker 2: come after a TV station. It has to be as
- 56:10Speaker 2: the result of complaints. So if people don't complain in
- 56:13Speaker 2: mass the FCC doesn't just can't really take it upon itself.
- 56:17Speaker 2: All they can do is what they've done now, and
- 56:19Speaker 2: that's asked for an early review of the broadcast licenses,
- 56:21Speaker 2: and that's something that they're doing right now. Vincent and Brooklyn,
- 56:24Speaker 2: we got about a minute left, and I can't let
- 56:26Speaker 2: a day go by without having you on my friend.
- 56:28Speaker 3: How are you good?
- 56:29Speaker 5: I'm okay, Ken, Good morning, Ken. You were talking about
- 56:32Speaker 5: classroom side. Back in the fifties, I attended parochial school
- 56:38Speaker 5: and in the classrooms we had fifty kids in the classroom.
- 56:43Speaker 5: The boys were on one side of the room, the
- 56:45Speaker 5: girls were on the other side of the room, and
- 56:47Speaker 5: the nun or the brothers had no problem with discipline
- 56:53Speaker 5: in the classroom. Nobody spoke out, nobody wild anything like that.
- 56:58Speaker 5: So these New York City schools teachers are full of bologne.
- 57:02Speaker 5: It's just a union money money grab Ken. A number
- 57:06Speaker 5: of years ago, an investigative journalists in Italy axed an
- 57:10Speaker 5: Albanian criminal. They dispixelated out the guy's face. They said,
- 57:16Speaker 5: why do you come all the way from Albania and
- 57:20Speaker 5: or from Romania to commit crimes in Italy? And the
- 57:24Speaker 5: guy said, if I rob a chicken in Romania, I
- 57:28Speaker 5: get five years in the joint he says, if I
- 57:31Speaker 5: rob a chicken in Italy, he says, the judge will
- 57:35Speaker 5: probably ask me, oh, you forgot to take the side
- 57:38Speaker 5: edition n Darren lies the difference.
- 57:42Speaker 3: That's it.
- 57:43Speaker 2: We are empathetic to an extreme, and that is part
- 57:46Speaker 2: of the problem. Vincent, I know that you will spend
- 57:49Speaker 2: this day remembering those who fought in divers I got
- 57:52Speaker 2: a cut only because it's the news time.
- 57:53Speaker 5: I certainly will, But.
- 57:54Speaker 2: My friend, God bless you, and I always appreciate your call, Vincent.
- 57:57Speaker 2: Vincent from Brooklyn, we appreciate you.
- 57:59Speaker 4: Very.
- 58:00Speaker 2: Good Memorial Day to you, and I can say good
- 58:02Speaker 2: Memorial Day because you will spend a good time thanking people,
- 58:07Speaker 2: whether in your heart, those who passed on, or even
- 58:10Speaker 2: a living vet. Yes, it is good to always thank
- 58:13Speaker 2: a living vet for all those people who fought and
- 58:16Speaker 2: of course sadly those who died for us. So remember
- 58:19Speaker 2: on this Memorial Day, take a moment kind of hoist
- 58:22Speaker 2: the toast to those who died for us, or say
- 58:24Speaker 2: a prayer, moment of silence, just some recognition, put out
- 58:28Speaker 2: the flag to say thank you for the ultimate sacrifice
- 58:31Speaker 2: that you made for us. And then yes, it's okay
- 58:33Speaker 2: to enjoy a hot dog. And then you can say
- 58:36Speaker 2: happy Memorial Day. In that case, it's okay to be
- 58:38Speaker 2: happy once you first said thank you. I think that's
- 58:41Speaker 2: very important. Seven to ten w R The Voice of
- 58:44Speaker 2: New York. It's Ken Rosotto in from Mark On Memorial Day, Monday, Mark,
- 58:48Speaker 2: We'll be back tomorrow. But you know, in the meantime,
- 58:50Speaker 2: you spend good money on a fancy schmancy computer router
- 58:52Speaker 2: and it reaches every inch of your home. Now you
- 58:55Speaker 2: find out that Russians could be hacking into it, reading
- 59:00Speaker 2: every keystroke to tap and seeing every website you serve too. Well,
- 59:03Speaker 2: it sounds crazy, but it's not. Joining us now with
- 59:06Speaker 2: this topic. And Morris Brand and digital strategist Fisher, who
- 59:10Speaker 2: could be found on x and threads with user name
- 59:12Speaker 2: at Fisher and through his website Fisher dot media.
- 59:14Speaker 3: Good morning Fisher, Good morning to you, sir.
- 59:17Speaker 2: Good to have you want. So what is this about
- 59:19Speaker 2: home routers potentially being hacked by Russia.
- 59:23Speaker 11: Yeah, they discovered the Russian hackers compromised thousands of mainly
- 59:27Speaker 11: small office and home office routers across twenty three states
- 59:31Speaker 11: since at least twenty twenty four. The FBI and the
- 59:34Speaker 11: NSA issued a warning after they remotely resetted affected devices.
- 59:41Speaker 11: They got the permission by a court order, but they
- 59:43Speaker 11: reset the administration passwords on these routers, and they also
- 59:48Speaker 11: obviously urged owners to take immediate action to prevent ongoing,
- 59:52Speaker 11: you know, targeting of primarily military, government and critical infrastructure.
- 59:56Speaker 11: So if you had an in with that, if you
- 59:58Speaker 11: worked for the government or probably or you were a subsidiary,
- 1:00:03Speaker 11: you know, things like that, you were probably a target.
- 1:00:06Speaker 11: The attack hit mainly older routers from TP link. Many
- 1:00:10Speaker 11: are past what they call end of life, so they
- 1:00:12Speaker 11: no longer receive security updates. But you know, there are
- 1:00:15Speaker 11: important things that you could do. If you have a
- 1:00:18Speaker 11: router at home, which is mainly all of us, and
- 1:00:22Speaker 11: you know, step one, update your router firmware regularly. Automatic
- 1:00:27Speaker 11: updates are pretty standard. If you have Nest, Wi Fi
- 1:00:30Speaker 11: or Eero, it's pretty standard. It'll it'll pop up an
- 1:00:34Speaker 11: update saying it's time to update, and then they'll eventually
- 1:00:36Speaker 11: just push it for you. If you have, you know,
- 1:00:39Speaker 11: a more advanced router like a neckgear a tp link
- 1:00:42Speaker 11: in this case, check the router's firmware, just log in,
- 1:00:44Speaker 11: reboot your router weekly. You and I talked about this,
- 1:00:47Speaker 11: and you do it more often because you do a
- 1:00:49Speaker 11: lot of TV obviously from the house, and so it's
- 1:00:52Speaker 11: always good to reboot your router at least monthly or
- 1:00:57Speaker 11: at some regular interval. It helps clear potential malware and
- 1:01:01Speaker 11: it helps maintain security. Also change the default username of passwords.
- 1:01:05Speaker 11: We've talked about this a lot, and this isn't just
- 1:01:07Speaker 11: the Wi Fi password. I'm talking about the back end
- 1:01:11Speaker 11: of your Wi Fi. Typically it's the username's admin and
- 1:01:14Speaker 11: the passwords one, two, three, four five, So change that.
- 1:01:18Speaker 11: And if you have remote management, and again this is
- 1:01:22Speaker 11: if you're kind of like a you know, tech pro,
- 1:01:24Speaker 11: a tech know it all. Remote management allows you to
- 1:01:27Speaker 11: do things remotely, right, so outside of your house turn
- 1:01:30Speaker 11: it off and then that way that's not a you know,
- 1:01:33Speaker 11: an endpoint for hackers. And then if you can use
- 1:01:36Speaker 11: a VPN if you work from home to a company,
- 1:01:38Speaker 11: typically your work laptop has a VPN, but you can
- 1:01:41Speaker 11: get it for your house and for your your router.
- 1:01:45Speaker 11: It doesn't just have to be for for work or
- 1:01:47Speaker 11: for travel, So look into that as well. And keep
- 1:01:50Speaker 11: in mind, you know, your router is a high value
- 1:01:52Speaker 11: target because all your network traffic passes through it, whether
- 1:01:55Speaker 11: it's the lights turning on and off in your house automatically,
- 1:01:58Speaker 11: or your web traffic or your TV. So you know
- 1:02:01Speaker 11: you want to secure that. It's kind of like locking
- 1:02:03Speaker 11: your doors.
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: Well, I understand that Minnesota for real now, because you
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: and I kid around a lot on the show we
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: do in New Jersey, but for real, Minnesota is now
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: making it basically illegal to use a VPN. Have you
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: heard about this. I'm catching you off guard here. So yeah,
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: they just passed legislation and it's it's basically to prevent
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: gambling using like call she those Okay, So what people
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: were doing to get around that so they could use
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: call she as they were using a VPN, so you
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: couldn't locate where they were, and they could say that
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: they were in a different state. So now the legislation
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: has been supplemented with something that said you can't use
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: software that says you're in a place that you're not. Well,
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: that's what VPNs do. They kind of disguise where you are.
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: Isn't that what they do?
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:02:46Speaker 11: Yeah, they well yeah, they lock you in from someplace else, yeah,
- 1:02:50Speaker 11: or completely officscate your is it the word looking for?
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: Yes?
- 1:02:55Speaker 11: Yes, your location? So no matter, it's not even saying
- 1:02:58Speaker 11: you're from someplace else. I would say that, And I
- 1:03:00Speaker 11: don't know how far along that is. I can't say
- 1:03:03Speaker 11: that that's going to pass because these services and I
- 1:03:07Speaker 11: may or may not know from personal living in Georgia
- 1:03:11Speaker 11: and having to go to North Carolina or Tennessee in
- 1:03:13Speaker 11: order to do any type of sports betting that you
- 1:03:16Speaker 11: can't VPN.
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: I can tell you you can't play the lottery that way.
- 1:03:21Speaker 11: I've been in another state and wanted to play Mega
- 1:03:23Speaker 11: Millions and I can only do it from Georgia on
- 1:03:25Speaker 11: the app, and so I would say that that's not
- 1:03:28Speaker 11: going to get very far.
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: But yeah, that's yeah.
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: Yeah, because and you're right, I use I use one
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: of the apps when I'm in New Jersey to buy lottery,
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: and when I travel to our place in Florida where
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: they don't have that online lottery purchasing, you still have
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: to go to a store in Florida. I've tried to
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: use a VPN from there and it does not permit
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: you to use it. But apparently there are some apps
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: that claim to be able to disguise where you're from and.
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: Whatnot, and I don't know whatever.
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: I'm not one of those nefarious individuals, but we listen
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: the less go ahead.
- 1:04:00Speaker 11: Yeah, nonetheless, I still think you know, in our listening area,
- 1:04:03Speaker 11: VPNs are okay, right, So if you can lock you
- 1:04:06Speaker 11: router down in the ways mentioned and use a VPN
- 1:04:09Speaker 11: if you can, and then it's just extra secure for.
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: I only bring it up because with the iHeartRadio app,
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: we just had a call from Puerto Rico, So we're
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: getting calls all over the world for us from and
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: that's why we want to let folks know that I
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: get a caller every day on the show we do
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: in Jersey from Minnesota. So that's kind of interesting. All right,
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: we have about a minute and a half left. Reddit
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: investors got a rude surprise after Meta made a direct
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: challenge to the popular social platform. Talk about how that
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: impacted shares of Reddit dropping because of their app called Forum.
- 1:04:39Speaker 11: Yeah, so Reddit shares dropped almost six percent on Friday
- 1:04:43Speaker 11: because Facebook. Meta rolled out a new app called Forum
- 1:04:47Speaker 11: and it's for their Facebook groups now Reddit and I'll
- 1:04:50Speaker 11: try to be quick. Reddit is a great place to
- 1:04:52Speaker 11: go to if you have a question and you can
- 1:04:54Speaker 11: ask regular people. It's whether you know, whether should I
- 1:04:58Speaker 11: change the transmission fluid on my two thousand ford, you know,
- 1:05:01Speaker 11: explorer whatever, and they're you know, they're just experts.
- 1:05:04Speaker 8: There are people.
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: It's also a cesspool.
- 1:05:06Speaker 11: Right, So so Facebook basically rolled out a new one
- 1:05:09Speaker 11: that's based on the back of Facebook groups. It's attached
- 1:05:13Speaker 11: to your Facebook account, so it's clean. It probably you know,
- 1:05:17Speaker 11: is less cesspooly and you know, well, time will tell,
- 1:05:21Speaker 11: but it is attached to you compared to Reddit. You
- 1:05:23Speaker 11: can create a fake email, or you could just create
- 1:05:26Speaker 11: an email that's not, you know, tied to yours. Apple
- 1:05:29Speaker 11: and Google both allow you to hide your email and
- 1:05:32Speaker 11: you can create a persona and then ask questions or whatever.
- 1:05:36Speaker 11: Facebook won't allow that because it's going to tie it
- 1:05:38Speaker 11: to your account. So whether or not this catches on
- 1:05:39Speaker 11: as well as Reddit, don't know, but at least it's
- 1:05:43Speaker 11: an alternative if you're not into the reddit and the
- 1:05:46Speaker 11: subreddits and the cesspool stuff. They can because it could
- 1:05:49Speaker 11: be pretty brutal.
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: There's a lot of hate on Reddit. There's a lot
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: of hate. People just they attack to attack. It's like
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: you're going to say, hey, it's a nice day. No
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: it isn't, You're an idiot.
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: Die what I just said it's.
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: A nice day. By post unbelievable. Really, it's crazy. And
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: by the way, I'm the one who was doing the attacking.
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: No I'm kidding.
- 1:06:08Speaker 8: It is.
- 1:06:09Speaker 11: But you could get the app if you want to
- 1:06:10Speaker 11: try it. It's on iOS right now. That's where they're
- 1:06:12Speaker 11: testing it. It's called Forum by Facebook and you can
- 1:06:16Speaker 11: download the app.
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: Because what Meta needs is yet another addition to its
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: social media platforms.
- 1:06:22Speaker 11: Tied to your name and your persona, so they can
- 1:06:25Speaker 11: track you with everything that you absolutely.
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: Mark is at home right now saying ha ha, I
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: know everything about you. Yes, I just go buy a
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: first dame basis with mister Zuckerberg. All right, Brandon digital
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: strategist Fisher who can be found on x and threads
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: with user name at Fisher and through his website Fisher
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: dot Media. It was a pleasure. Thanks for coming on
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: the Mark Sramone Show today.
- 1:06:46Speaker 3: Thanks Ken you bet and Ken.
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: Brazatowan from Mark for your Memorial Day. When we come back,
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: we'll take called we can squeeze in one or two
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: before the end of the hour. The number is eight
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: hundred three two one zero seven ten eight hundred three

- 1:07:17Speaker 8: Good morning, Ken.
- 1:07:19Speaker 4: I just wanted to thank you Ken from mentioning the
- 1:07:22Speaker 4: fact that we acknowledge the loss of all our military
- 1:07:25Speaker 4: people in all wars, but you added the factor of
- 1:07:29Speaker 4: the people also lost during training. And if you look
- 1:07:33Speaker 4: at the numbers, they're astounding. Between World War Two, career,
- 1:07:36Speaker 4: Vietnam and now we lost four people last year and
- 1:07:40Speaker 4: training for the one sixty Especial Aviation operations and my
- 1:07:46Speaker 4: friend was their commander for years, and we need to
- 1:07:50Speaker 4: acknowledge that the training is very dangerous as all the missions.
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: Sure, look at it people if I Madam to step
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: on your bob only because we're a little short, but
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: look at him an people trained to be seals. There
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: there have been people who drowned training because that's grueling training,
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: right it is.
- 1:08:08Speaker 5: It is well.
- 1:08:09Speaker 4: We did night operations with helicopters that to this day
- 1:08:12Speaker 4: when I think about some of them with the low
- 1:08:15Speaker 4: life visibility and no night vision goggles at the time,
- 1:08:19Speaker 4: I get a chill from it because it was very,
- 1:08:22Speaker 4: very dangerous and difficult stuff to do.
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: Well, thank you.
- 1:08:25Speaker 4: So it happened with the with the Venezuela and operation
- 1:08:29Speaker 4: there too. The people love that was wounded.
- 1:08:33Speaker 3: Bye, I got it, Bob.
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: I got to cut you only because we're up at
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: heartbreak against the news on the top. But my friend,
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: thank you to all the people who served their country,
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: and specifically those who died, whether in training, during service,
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: or afterwards, people who got cancer, who came back from
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: the burn pits, et cetera. God bless them all. Thank
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: you so much, Bob seven to ten w R, the
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: Voice of New York, hen Rizato, and thank you so
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: much to Mark n w R for letting me be here.
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: Don't forget that we have Clay and Buck. They're coming
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: up after after the news. Enjoy the Memorial Day, just
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: remember the people who sacrifice their lives for us.
